Someone should write a fanfiction where all the first mate/vice captains (and Nami) go on a vacation together. They founded a CLUB (see the previous post on this), they need a raise, they need a vacation and they need it now. So, their captains are left to fend for themselves for, let's say, a month.
For people like Shanks or Luffy, a week is probably their breaking point (or the time range before boredom and lack of adult supervision pushs them to declare war on the world government, thus forcing their first mates to come back ASAP from vacation).
Absolute chaos becomes unstoppable for the crews who never noticed how much life changes when a more adult adult than you fixes your messes in exchange for the stability of their own blood pressure. When they finally understand they NEED some adult supervision in order not to explode and/or commit mutiny, they despair at the notion that they are supposed to be their own adult for a whole month.
The first mates, who are relaxing on a tropical beach without a care in the world for once in their lives, watch their crews' shenanigans unfold on a maxi TV and start betting on whose captain will break and/or give up first. Shanks. They've never had so much fun and they all know they deserved it.
Finally, they return to their babysitting duties, relaxed and regenerated, and all the captains have never been happier to see their first mates again in all their lives (if Luffy's and Shanks's bear-like hugs are almost unbearable then it's just a matter between first mates, captains and the latter’s deep-seated abandonment issues).

You know I was wondering if Crocodile ever did have any kind of involvement with the Revolutionary Army in secret (lest the Government finds out and revokes his Shichibukai status), what kind of involvement would that even have been
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now, with both the Vegapunk/Ohara flashback and Kuma's flashback, it's being made very clear to us that the Revolutionary Army was broke as hell 22 years ago. Like the fact that this has been brought up twice now in a relatively short span of time is interesting to me, that's usually a sign it's not an unimportant plotpoint
But you know who would have had money to help fund the Army
A funny little warlord who would eventually go and build a fucking casino to run for funsies. A warlord who had to give the Government some of his Pirating Income to keep his warlord-status
Like Crocodile hated the Government anyways so why not help fund the Revolutionary Army in secret, out of spite if for no other reason
Vaguely related, but I keep on remembering this scene (post-Enies Lobby), which at first glance just seems like a basic Lore Dump
But then there's the
Tumblr media
"Yet..."
(Or "however", she says "no ni" in Japanese and you could translate that in many ways, I would probably have gone with "however" but that wouldn't have fit into the speechbubble)
Mind you, the conversation just kind of ends there, next we see Garp realize he probably shouldn't have mentioned Dragon infront of such a massive audience, so wherever that "yet" was going to lead to we will never find out, because Oda conveniently changed the subject before we got to it
And you know. Like yes, Robin could be just expressing her shock over finding out that the leader of the Revolutionary Army had a child with someone
But also, Robin was a part of an organization that was trying to overthrow one of the founding countries of the World Government in an explicit attempt to go against said Government (compared to like, Blackbeard, who currently wants to make Fullalead into a "pirate country" that's a part OF the World Government)
Like you don't have to be a genius to look at Crocodile's ultimate goals and compare that to what Dragon is doing and find a few similarities here and there maybe
(Also like, Crocodile's equivalent in Romancing SaGa 2 is meant to be Wagnas, the queer-coded leader of the Seven Heroes (whom the OG Shichibukai are based on) who "hoped to help the world". You know, an interesting detail and all.)
Not to mention, during the time Robin spent with Baroque Works, if Crocodile was ever in contact with the Revolutionary Army at all, considdering she has the ability to easily spy on people and that she didn't trust Crocodile one bit, it wouldn't be unsurprising if she ever spied on Crocodile and/or just overheard a phone call or knew about Crocodile having secret spending habits or something
(Mind you, I'm not saying "she knew" Crocodile was involved with the Revolutionaries, more that she might've been Suspecting Things, that "yet" being about her connecting the dots while unsure if her conclusion was right or not)
Of course Crocodile's plans can't have been Dragon Approved by any means, especially considdering the Army had been looking for Robin for over 10 years (pre-timeskip)
Tumblr media
Four years of which were with Crocodile. Like if he was FULLY allied with the Army and KNEW they were looking for Robin, surely he would've called Dragon and been like "hey I found the kid from Ohara, wanna come hang out" or something. But no, he had bigger plans and kept Robin a secret from the Revolutionaries and the Government alike
Also like, I have seen people question why the Revolutionaries weren't involved with Alabasta's rebellion at all, and "Oda hadn't come up with the Revolutionaries yet at the time of writing" (/"OP was meant to end at Alabasta at one point so there would've been no reason to introduce the subplot at that point") aside Between Baroque Works being a secret organization working undercover (thus the Army might not have been aware of the civil war being manufactured), the framing of the King making him look bad and very much the type of monarch that deserved to be overthrown in the Army's eyes, and Crocodile maybe lying through his teeth about what was happening in the country... Yeah, the Army's lack of involvement with Alabasta suddenly makes sense
EDIT Minor addition: Just realized that because Crocodile was technically working for the Government, if the Revs ever did send forces to participate in Alabasta's civil army and taking down the throne, the Government could've easily ordered Crocodile to step in to stop the rebellion and take down the Revolutionaries, right? Because he was supposed to be on the Government's side, right? And surely the Army wouldn't have wanted to fight against Crocodile if they were secretly allied (Croc's secret betrayal aside), and if Crocodile refused to fight the Revs the Government could've seen that as a reason to revoke his Shichibukai rights (which wouldn't be great if they wanted to keep Crocodile in a position where he could fund the Army?). So it could've also been a case of it being for the best for everyone's sake to let this one play out "naturally"
But my point is
I'm just deeply intriqued by these little details and wonder if I'm Actually Masterfully Connecting The Dots Like a True Genius or just seeing a pattern where there's none. Like this is far from confirming the theory, I'm just saying, the pieces do kinda fit together do they not

Has anyone noticed that we never had a chance to properly see Law's second "signature" fit, one he wore during the timeskip before and during his time as a Shichibukai? He probably wore it the longest, albeit during his offscreened activities.
Similar to Onigashima, he draped a coat over his shoulders.
So much thoughts went on it to never eventually use it. What was the point.
Tumblr media
Time to read Japanese for ants. Texts on the left:
"D will bring up a storm", "I'll grab what I want for sure".."monster arm?" His arm seems a bit deformed in that image too so who knows what's up with that + I don't trust my reading skills Oda marked a star on the final version, "Shichibukai" written on top.
Apparently he spent a lot of time on deciding his post timeskip hat. There's also this interesting bit of info in the Osaka exhibition log book noting that he wants Law's sideburns to be more distinct? thick? A user on Twitter noted this recently, that Oda commented while making Z's design that "sideburns are Manly".
Tumblr media
Law wore a yellow top under the punk hazard coat in the manga. Anime Law, though, wasn't wearing it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oda drew the genderbent Law (left) in a similar fit, she's actually wearing the coat this time - but missing her tattoos and had no painted nails. The volume was released during late Dressrosa so this outfit was still the "default" post timeskip Law outfit in Oda's mind. Merch developers changed the fit to his Dressrosa coat for the Fem Law figure.
The fact that Doc Q's genderbent Law had the nails manicured and painted is both hilarious for what it is and a possible implication that Oda could be inspired by an existing, suggestive genderbent Law figure that released 6 years ago. Bet he owns one 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In relation to my previous theory that the extent of Law's involvement and character depth was decided along Punk Hazard arc, I don't think Oda thought too deep about Law's tattoos and heart symbol when he decided Law's default Shichibukai fit for the timeskip. Law had to wear a coat during Punk Hazard for the cold weather and a heart-themed costume during Dressrosa for story purposes, followed by a casual shirt and the Wano yukata. Rather than purposefully avoiding it, Oda simply didn't have a chance to incorporate the default post timeskip design that he planned for Law.
Tumblr media
The Onigashima fit could be a "modified" version of that very old design, now his characterization properly conceptualized and laid out and thus feathers instead of a regular collar as a nod to Corazon. His tattoos are also visible for a similar purpose.
There's so much to unpack in character designs. I wish we had access to more drafts and notes.
TL;DR
Oda never got to use the timeskip outfit he originally designed for Law due to various reasons, mainly because when he designed it, he didn't know what Law's role during the timeskip would be. The design gradually became obsolete, So he simply modified it to the Onigashima fit that's closely personalized based on the unplanned developments Law received along the way.

We've seen the Straw Hats react to Warlord!Sanji, but now that you've brought up the Shichibukai declaring war against the government for their son--how does the world react to this reveal? You said in the notes that his new bounty name would be "Child of the Warlords," but I was thinking about it, and what if it's something like "Warprince"? Sounds cliche, but technically his parents aren't warlords anymore, and I doubt the government considers him their child due to the weird obsession they have with bloodlines :/ anyway prince would also refer to the Vinsmokes so they probably thought two birds one stone. Sanji's bounty is now higher than Zoro's. Zoro is perpetually enraged by this.
Also, imagine the reactions of people like Vivi and Law who literally witnessed Sanji helping take down his own parent. Or even Judge who's sweating over the realization that his failure son holds the devotion of some of the most powerful pirates alive. Zeff sees the updated poster and has PTSD flashbacks of Sanji's birthday party when all five parents visited the Baratie. He and the other chefs spend the night drinking.
I love this au you've made <3 I adore all of your aus really <3 <3 gorgeous breathtaking lovely lovely lovely
You make a good point, anon. They probably wouldn't give him the name 'Child of the Warlords' it probably would be 'Warprince' or 'Prince of War' or something similar. As for the world reacting? The shock that reverberates around probably leads to all their denden mushis and the Sunny's ringing all the fucking time.
Sanji's bounty has to be almost as high as Luffy's, given he escaped his execution and continued being a pirate after he was given the all clear to resume his normal activities. Zoro is pissed about the bounty and Sanji is like 'I don't know what to do about this' as he stress cooks in the kitchen. Luffy is probably happy about that but he knows Sanji is worried and it's worse than when he got back from Whole Cake. Chopper said what Sanji went through was extreme and it would take time but Luffy just wants him back to his happier self.
Ace probably shows up to the Sunny and talks to Sanji about it. Like his parents helped Ace and the White Beard fleet and he can relate about his parentage being open knowledge. How scary it is but Sanji has a lot of people to support him. Perona probably comes by and is just floating and holding onto Sanji while he cooks and is just pulled along while she talks his ear off about zombies and cute things. She also tells him all about Zoro getting his ass handed to him by Mihawk.
Vivi and Law call to ask why Sanji would help over them overthrow his parents. The answer is so dumb and simple because the answer is it made his parents proud. They knew when he inevitably would set off he would become a powerful pirate but that would always be second to him being a cook. Zeff calls and demands the numbers for his fucking parents and is screaming at Jinbei over the mushi because what fuck is he letting them do? The Baratie is closed for a week because everyone is too drunk and also too hungover to function because of the news about the eggplant. Zeff, Patty, and Carne have flashbacks to Sanji's seventeenth birthday party at the Baratie and also yell at Jinbei for that even though he only brought himself and booze.
Like and the other four, who already had high bounties and now they just keep climbing because of the destruction they're raining on the government? When Mihawk's passes Shanks' bounty Redhair calls him up and is like "is this worth it?" And Mihawk is like "If rouge and Roger we're here and that happened to Ace they would do the same thing" and like yeah. Mihawk has a point.
Judge stares at the paper and wonders how the fucking failure managed to A. Escape his execution, which he eyes Reiju for and B. Became the child of not one or two warlords but five warlords, four of which are currently waging a war on the government for trying to kill Sanji. Judge debates for a while whether he should try to get Sanji back again. Then he sees Mihawk and Boa's bounties are both fast approaching six billion beri and decides against it.
For now at least.

Random things in RoboMarine AU that I think would change from the main timeline (and random facts about the AU in general)
I feel like RoboMarine's high-tech vibe and power would attract more people due to him being marketed as (and to a degree, actually being) a "guardian angel" for a lot of people, and eventually the World Government has the idea to give the Marines cybernetic implants/replacement body parts to make them stronger because at that point both they and the public would have warmed up to the idea.
RoboMarine is probably good with kids; as Rosinante he loved them anyway, and letting him still be around them is good for publicity. Imagine this 9'6 robot guy visiting a school or something for an assembly and all the kids asking questions.
Since I imagine Rosinante as actually having been dead when he was taken, he doesn't have the same Devil Fruit as RoboMarine. I'm imagining a Mythical Zoan that gives him Kraken-based abilities.
RoboMarine's field test involved him wiping out a pirate fleet in an hour and a half. It was more a test of how many people he could kill without his previous morality getting in the way.
RoboMarine was absolutely at MarineFord. On a related note, his programming makes him unable to act against any of the Shichibukai or their nakama.
On another related note, Law probably also joined the Warlords to get close to RoboMarine. Even if his previous memories have been "killed," it's still something.
On paper, RoboMarine is a Vice Admiral. People aren't even sure if he's sentient, but they tell the public that he is, so they have to put him somewhere. Due to Sengoku pulling a few strings, he sits at the top of RoboMarine's programmed hierarchy.
I imagine that since many people don't think RoboMarine is sentient, he's been witness to a lot of secret conversations or dealings. Why hide it from him? He's just a robot. A weapon. A thing. Things don't know secrets. They don't know anything.
RoboMarine has had all files connected to Minion Island locked in his database. The last time it was brought up, he "malfunctioned" and went berserk, and the city he wiped off the map during that debacle has been erased from history.

Imagine there's a family reunion for Luffy. Ace, Sabo, Garp, Dragon (surprisingly), Makino, Dadan and the bandits, the strawhats, the heart pirates (Law said he wouldn't go then went anyway), Shanks and the Redhair Pirates. Then Mihawk comes in. Someone (Zoro probably) asks why Mihawk is there and if he's related to Luffy too. Mihawk just replies that Shanks has told him so much about Luffy he might as well be. Also Zoro and Perona are basically his kids now so in some way he is related to Luffy
LISTEN Mihawk might like to stay on the side but he was tangled so much with people in Luffy's life he is, in the very least, like a second uncle
The only thing Mihank regrets from going to that reunion is that Buggy is also there and he has take enough from that clown in all the shichibukais meetings

I KNEW TORAO WOULD MAKE AN APPEARANCE BUT DID NOT REALISE HE BECAME A PART OF THE SHICHIBUKAI
So like I know Trafalgar Law was like super involved in the Dressrosa arc and knew he’d likely pop up at Punk Hazard to tie in but didn’t think he’d appear this early… NOR DID I REALISE HE WOULD BECOME ONE OF THE SEVEN WARLORDS
Does he stay there? Is he only one bc of Doffy-related reasons??? He’s like meant to be future bestie and honorary member of the Straw Hats so this is the first bit of unknown major details I’ve heard in this now unknown era of OP where I’m relatively spoiler free (at least as far as Punk Hazard is concerned)

banish every gaslight; let clarity shine - Part 5
It is only fair to note that I feel like “Antonia” would look more like what Oda drew for Law as a woman than anything, just as a reminder for those who deem that important. You’re also getting this early bc I’ll be busy tomorrow so there.
Part 1 [FFN/AO3] - Part 2 [FFN/AO3] - Part 3 [FFN/AO3] - Part 4 [FFN/AO3]
Viola moves to rescue Baby 5, while Corazón contemplates Joker’s orders. [2509 words; AU where there is a Third Corazón, whose existence makes Law’s life hell]
Trafalgar dropped to the floor of the Hall of Suites as Antonia’s kick knocked him out cold. His limp body lay motionless, broken, completely devoid of resistance and fight as his blood began to pool on the marble.
“Fufufu… see how we treat those who cross us?” Doflamingo chortled. He glanced over towards where a pair of guards had hold of the former King Riku, having had him watch the entire scene. “I’d like you to think very carefully about how you’re going to proceed.”
“All I see is you having a tantrum through your niece,” the older man frowned. Doflamingo shrugged.
“Potaytoes, pohtahtoes; we only punish naughty children here.” He then snapped his fingers and the guards grabbed Riku. “Throw him back in the trash with the rest of the garbage—he’s seen what he needs to here.” They complied, leaving Doflamingo and Antonia alone with Law.
“What are we going to do with him?” she wondered. She nudged Law with her boot to get a look at her handiwork—he must have been extraordinary if he was surviving such a beating. “Do you want me to get more information?”
“Only in the way you do best, my darling Antonia,” Doflamingo grinned. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and tilted her chin up so that he could look at her. “If he refuses to talk or gives you more of those lies, then kill him immediately. Don’t waste too much time on trash; I need your help in cleaning up the rest of the vermin.”
“As you wish, Uncle Doffy,” she nodded. He walked out the door and the young woman found herself alone with their hostage. She sat down in the Heart Seat and watched him patiently.
‘How did Papa choose such a pathetic weakling like this?’ she wondered silently. Leaning forward, she rested her elbows on her knees and glared.
It bothered her.
“What made him choose you over me?” She didn’t expect a reply and proceeded to be correct—the traitor stayed still, the only movement being that of his shallow breathing. Despite the fact she could not remember his face, there was something… off about it, as though there was tiny voice in her brain telling her that he was familiar…
…except, no… she didn’t recognize him, did she? He was just a no-name stranger, who thought he was hot shit for becoming a Supernova and Shichibukai. That was not someone worth fretting over, not when there were much bigger players still in the game, and she was poised to inherit one’s vast empires.
Then why, pray tell, did he wear the word Corazón on his back and a heart inked in his chest? He knew her uncle, and Uncle Doffy had clearly known him from business not Government-related, so why didn’t she remember herself? What was it that made his face foggy in her memory? It was almost as though he was someone else entirely, yet on his own was someone that should have been…
…maybe, she thought, with enough coaxing she’d get the truth out of him.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Viola stared at her Den Den with abject dread. The other end of the line wasn’t picking up despite the fact she desperately needed it to so. She poked her head outside of the alley she was hiding in and looked around the square—no sign of anyone that needed avoiding.
“What could be going on?” she hissed under her breath. “This is not like her…”
“Lady Viola,” said a voice, startling her. She looked behind her and saw a plush toy dog, one she’d spoken with before many times, saluting her. “I’ve been given a report from the Patrol.”
“Yes, what it is?”
“Someone saw Gladius put Baby 5 down one of the tubes that leads to the Scrap Heap,” the toy said. “She appeared to be unconscious.”
“Ah merda,” Viola swore. She resisted the urge to kick a rock—her shoes would most certainly break. Panicking was not going to do her any favors. “Has the Patrol gotten visuals on Princess Antonia?”
“She was at the Coliseum, but since then, we’re unsure.” The toy frowned best it could. “Lady Viola…?”
“Yes?”
“What if… what if the princess doesn’t want to be saved? Would she really force us to take drastic measures?”
“You claimed once that you remember the princess when she was first brought to the palace, correct?” The toy nodded. “Then you know how she was before—we won’t let Doflamingo kill that sweet little girl for good. All we need to do is make sure she finally knows the truth.”
“Lady Viola! Lady Viola!” The Human looked over to see another toy—this one a robot—running towards her, this one clearly upset. “It’s the princeseta! She has met the pirate Trafalgar Law! He is being tortured as we speak!”
“Then I’m going to need a distraction while I get someone out of the Scrap Heap,” Viola said. She snapped her fingers and both toys stood at attention. “Enact Plan T; I am going to need the Officer’s Tower cleared for at least twenty minutes. We’re going to make this count.”
“Yes, ma’am!” They saluted and scurried off, allowing Viola to take out her Den Den Mushi and call Sanji. “Are you there?”
“Oui, mademoiselle,” the snail crooned, a curled brow appearing above its eye. “Pardonne-moi; unfortunately I shall be out of range soon.”
“Why?” she asked sharply. “You said you were going to extract them.”
“My crew needs me, which unfortunately takes precedence over anything else,” he replied. Honesty—it was something few gentlemen truly possessed and she could not be cross at him for it. “Robin-chwan and the mooks that are left on Dressrosa are sure to help you while I get our ship to safe waters. I will say this, though: I did get a hit on Doflamingo while setting up an opening for Trafalgar. I last saw them trading niceties, but I doubt that lasted very long.”
“Were you able to tell Law anything?”
“Just that no one should worry about us.” He paused, the snail passing on a contemplative expression. “Perhaps one day soon I can return to your beautiful land, mon chérie, and this dashing prince can sweep the wonderful and capable princeseta off her feet.”
“Maybe one day, petit príncep,” she replied. The snail blushed perversely before passing out—the Thousand Sunny was too far from shore.
Yes, with any luck, she’d be able to share a bottle of wine and a pot of paella as she asked him why how he came to have the features of some other princes she had the misfortune to be acquainted with, but that would be a different day.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Baby 5 was beginning to run out of ideas as she paced the large atrium where everyone was being held in the Scrap Heap. Normally she could figure out something to fly her way out of the chutes, but that was a no-go thanks to the seastone shard lodged in her shoulder. She puzzled and puzzled over the situation, cursing the fact that she wasn’t the smart one of her siblings.
“Maybe if I lift some of you up, and you all stand on one another’s shoulders?” Hajrudin wondered. Baby 5 shook her head.
“That’ll create too much of a scene—I don’t want to be caught again.”
“We’ll protect you,” Cavendish offered.
“We can’t let those pieces of shit get away with treating you like this,” Sai grumbled. “If someone in the Happo Navy wanted to protect one of their own, then why shouldn’t they?”
“It still confuses me that she is your sister,” Elizabello frowned. Once it was apparent that Trebol and Sugar were not in the Officer’s Tower after taking King Riku, Baby 5 had been able to impart a couple other details she felt were crucial to getting the gladiators’ help: that Antonia was her sister, that their brother seemed to be allied with the Straw Hat, and that everything would make a lot more sense once they brought down Doflamingo. “You’ve always been presented as a lady-in-waiting or a noble officer when at court or the Levely.”
“Our family situation is not normal by any means,” Baby 5 replied. “Our brother is older than me, which adds more questions I can’t answer here.”
“Doflamingo really does bring a whole new definition to ‘Royal Shichibukai’,” Chinjao scoffed. “Passing up two children for their youngest sibling when that is not the tradition is more suspicious than when a Marine cooperates.” He looked at Elizabello and huffed. “Maybe I should have come here with the intention of building an alliance via marriage; what do you think that prospect is?”
“You mean marrying your grandsons to Doflamingo’s nieces? You’d have better fortunes finding them virginal Mermaids than getting that parfait to give them up.”
“Then it’s a good thing I’m already engaged,” Sai scowled, not appreciating the conversation. He then noticed a noise that was coming closer from one of the pipes—someone was coming. “We got another coming down the pipe! Hajrudin!”
“On it,” the giant said. He figured out which pipe the noise was coming from in time to catch the former king Riku. He put the man down, who almost instantly stormed up to Baby 5 and got in her face.
“Who is Lami?!” he demanded. “Doflamingo had his niece take off her Corazón mask and it drove a Warlord to tears. Who is this Lami and why does the Surgeon of Death think that she and Donquixote Antonia are the same person?”
Shit.
“Because they are, alright!” Baby 5 snapped back, not in the mood to hide things anymore. “I don’t know what he did, but Doflamingo made it so she couldn’t remember anything real from before we landed here! Your daughter and I are trying to fix it!”
“As though my daughter has enough to worry about! Is this what Doflamingo was aiming for with my granddaughter?! Brainwashing and using her existence as a torture device?!”
“Even if he wasn’t, I’m sure the thought crossed his mind, not that he would have told me. I’m sure he was just waiting for when Law-nii showed up!”
“Wait…” Cavendish cut in. “So what that means is the brother you spoke of earlier is Trafalgar Law, a member of that rude, inelegant Worst Generation? That he is another one to take the Royal Shichibukai title crassly literal?”
“He’s our big brother, yeah, and that’s—”
Just then, an explosion shook the Scrap Heap, sending most of the people in there to the floor. A crack appeared in a high part of the wall, which Hajrudin took as his chance. The giant jumped up and wedged his fingers into the crack, causing it to crumble into a handhold utilizing the outside street.
“That’s great, but what about the rest of us?” Bluegilly frowned. He and the other gladiators watched as the giant punched a hole in the wall, it possible now that he was only punching brick and mortar and not bedrock as well. As the dust cleared, a rope was thrown into the hole.
“Baby!” shouted a voice. “Where are you?!”
“Viola?!” King Riku gasped. The dust settled enough for him to see his younger daughter standing in the hole in the wall, holding onto a rope. “What are you doing?!”
“Trying to get our only shot at overthrowing Doflamingo!” she shouted back. “The toys can only give us cover for so long!”
“Then let me be of assistance, so that we all might rid ourselves of this place in a more timely manner. Everyone looked to see that the red-haired, white-faced man who had been intensely silent til that moment was now standing, holding his giant brush in what almost seemed like a dramatic pose. “My jutsu allows me to draw things. Verily, now that there is an opening, we can escape posthaste.”
“WHY DIDN’T YOU OFFER EARLIER?!”
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Meanwhile, Antonia gasped as the Hall of Suites rumbled from the unknown explosion. It was a testament to the workmanship of the palace that nothing crumbled due to the tremors, yet it also spoke volumes about the fact her captive did not so much as twitch in reaction.
“Fuck—what was that…?!” She looked out the window and scowled—a plume of smoke was coming from below the King’s Plateau, too close to be anything except at the base…
…over near the Toys’ House.
“Puto infiern,” she cursed. Antonia felt another tremor and looked back at Trafalgar, seeing that he was still completely unconscious. Part of her wanted to simply leave him and go see what was going on, potentially dooming him should there be another blast that ruined the building’s structural integrity before he came to, and yet…
Something was still nagging her about him and she needed to understand what.
Groaning, Antonia went over to Trafalgar and hefted him onto her shoulder, pulling him throughout the palace until they were outside in the courtyard. Sure enough, there was another explosion, which made her decide to take this to the other side of the palace. She found an empty sunchair on a patio and dumped him on it.
“Come on, Trafalgar,” she sneered. “Wake up.”
Nothing.
Looking around, she found a discarded water bottle, still half-drank from when the Young Master last used it. She opened it up and dribbled a bit of water on his face. When he didn’t move, she put two fingers on his neck and checked his pulse—heart was still beating, at least.
“Wake up.” Antonia dumped the rest of the water bottle on Law’s face and he sputtered awake, shocked at the fact he was now wet and staring up at a bright blue sky despite his seastone handcuffs. “That’s better.”
“What the fuck is going on?” he groaned, clearly in pain. He blinked some of the water away and his eyes began to look the same as before. “Lami…?”
“Guess again.”
Deciding that she was not going to take any more of this than she had to, Antonia grabbed Law by the front of his coat and with one arm hefted him out of the chair and flung him against the wall. He coughed as he made impact, only fully realizing what was going on when she took a blade from her back holster and held it to his neck as she easily pinned him.
“You are going to listen to me, and you are going to do it very carefully,” she warned. Law could feel the blade against his throat, moving against his hard swallow. “If you lie to me, I will have no qualms about spilling your blood all over the flagstone. Do I make myself clear?”
He nodded.
“Good.” Antonia held him tighter against the wall and moved the knife so that the blade was resting against his cheek. “Now, tell me: why the fuck do I look at your face and feel as though I know you?”

If Davy Jones and Joyboy existed around the same time, maybe the first Davy Back fight was between their crews, where Davy won Zunesha and used it to commit some sort of atrocity, possibly even killing Joyboy or the mermaid princess of that time. The Lunarians (or some other god or god-like figure) cursed Zunesha for this act not knowing it was ordered to by its new master, only thinking it had gone insane. I spotted one flaw in your logic, Sawyer - when you talked about West Indian and use it to mean West of India. The West Indies are a group of Caribbean island nations that have no real relation to India (they've had a lot of Indian immigrants over the years though), they were named West Indies because Columbus was a dumbass and thought he'd reached India when he got to Hispanola. The word Duffy (or Duppy) is of a Caribbean patois, not from an Indian language (I can't think of a Hindi word for ghost or spirit that could be bastardized into Duffy/Duppy at all). That fact about the spider lily 'dying' and then coming back to life is interesting. If Blackbeard's first fruit is a zoan plant fruit (and we may be getting another one introduced now with Aramaki) model: spider lily, it could allow for eating more than one fruit because the user 'dies' so the soul of the previous fruit disappears but the lineage factor is still in the body. And then the body comes back to life keeping the ability of the fruit without its 'soul'. In theory this would mean Blackbeard could eat multiple fruits though, not just three. But it would also explain why he might not want Kaido's fruit, he doesn't want/need another zoan because zoans have a stronger, more complete soul in them compared to logia and paramecia types. Essentially I'm thinking this spider lily fruit is something like All For One from MHA, but with restrictions and themes to fit the One Piece world.
The Flower thing is why we know Law is gonna die before the series ends because his flower in real life wilts before the dawn.
Dutchman's pipe cactus
You say Blackbeard was scared of death, but; - He wasn't scared to attack Impel Down and face Magellan, Shiryu etc - He wasn't scared to betray the Government in front of Marines and throw his Shichibukai title to garbage - He wasn't scared to try to steal the second DF power which could kill any person
It really doesn't make sense that he is scared of death and does those things at the same time.
I think what happened with Whitebeard is that he probably tried to trick him playing the 'son' role for the last time, but it didn't work, then killed him, he could call his crew earlier but he didn't, why? Why he didn't call his crew to kill Whitebeard, instead of begging? Blackbeard was laughing in the next page.

The Awkward truths are still truths Corner Pt. 1
Shanks is well known for the title of "Observation Killer" for his ability to neutralize Observation Haki, but you know as well as I do, deep down, that he has used this power to win a game of Strip Poker with the other Emperors (they'd totally cheat using it, yes) at least once a month in his life.
AND that's why Whitebeard considers him just a bratty nuisance and not an equal.

Yeah no I can't stop thinking about this. I need to get this extremely cursed theory out of my system. Let's just go.
Could Rayleigh and Shakky be Crocodile's parents?
So the thing is, I was gonna post about this like ages ago, but then I canned my original post. Because I realized that based on the timeline we have, for this theory to be true Shakky would've had to become pregnant at age 17 and given birth at 18 while Rayleigh was like 31. And needless to say, that's gross as hell. So yeah, I cancelled that original theory post because of that.
But then I realized that between Oda repeatedly treating 17 year olds as """not children""" in OP (see: Dragon literally saying Luffy isn't a child anymore at age 17), and other shit like how 16 year old Pudding was almost married to 21 year old Sanji
Like shit's creepy as hell. But alas, because Oda is Oda, it would actually fit in-universe. Like the theory is still fucking viable. Because fucking Oda, man.
And god fucking damnit the thought just keeps on haunting me. Because I am unironically curious whether or not this could be a genuine, viable theory. So yeah. I just need to get this theory out of my system. Let's just get it done with, alright
Tumblr media
So what kind of started off this theory in my mind was remembering Buggy's off-hand comment/joke about Rayleigh being Luffy's uncle
Because that got me also thinking about some other, vaguely related theories, and like... Like we all know these theories, right;
that Luffy's mom is a Kuja (people speculate that's why Kuma sent him to Amazon Lily, that Luffy had a connection to the island)
that Crocodile has Kuja heritage (the Missing Empress is pretty much debunked but it is a popular, related and vaguely relevant theory too)
that Crocodile is Luffy's other dad
And I could not help but to wonder if these theories could somehow be combined together into one Giga Theory
And the funny thing is, we know that Rayleigh did marry a Kuja Empress, Shakky. Which actually does mean that the four theories could be mashed together. Like sure the other three theories could already be combo'd together but Buggy's theory would somehow really complement the other theories and bring them all together???
Of course, if Crocodad is real and Rayleigh turned out to be Crocodile's dad, then Buggy's comment wouldn't be fully accurate, since Rayleigh would be Luffy's other grandfather, not uncle. But it'd still be funny as hell in its own right, since the two would turn out to be blood-relatives. Like how the fuck was Buggy onto something there. Not to mention, as of now, two of Buggy's predictions in the Summit War Saga have already turned true (him becoming a Shichibukai and then a Yonkou, the only one that hasn't come true yet is him becoming Pirate King)
But indeed, if Shakky and Rayleigh were Crocodile's parents, then that would mean Crocodile would have Kuja heritage, it would mean Luffy's birthing parent was (technically) a Kuja, Buggy's joke would be kind of true and, yeah, Crocodad Real. That would be insane. We got a full fucken bingo over here
But then we have all these details to considder;
We know Shakky quit being the Kuja Empress and a pirate 42 years ago, when she moved to Sabaody and opened her bar. We don't know why she did this move, especially because at this point Rayleigh should've still been adventuring with Roger's crew
At that point, Crocodile would've been 4 years old
Based on Baby Croc's art, he isn't wearing Kuja clothes. If he had been raised in Amazon Lily then surely he would've been wearing their clothes*, but if he moved to Sabaody with Shakky and was raised there, then his get-up would fit in just fine
The trivia books claim Crocodile is a Grand Line native; regardless of if he was raised in Amazon Lily or Sabaody, both would add up
*(To be fair, if Oda had drawn Baby Croc in Kuja Clothes, that would've been a MASSIVE SPOILER to drop in an SBS. And Film Z did go out of its way to NOT include Baby Croc in the credits when all the other Baby Shichibukai were, so like, Baby Croc's art isn't Absolute Lore or anything, it is subject to change)
Indeed, if Shakky had decided to move out of Amazon Lily and went to Sabaody specifically knowing that if Roger's crew ever passed by then that would make sense, since it would mean she'd have an increased chance at seeing her husband again (if only briefly). It would also make sense if she moved out with her child and/or because she had a child, since it'd make it easier for her to ensure her child and the father could maybe get to meet and spend time together, as staying on Amazon Lily would've meant Rayleigh wouldn't have been able to enter the town even if he DID swam all the way there. (Also her options would've been to either leave her child behind or bring the child with her, and if she didn't want the kid to grow up in Amazon Lily for whatever reason then this would've been the perfect opportunity to remove that child from the island)
If Crocodile grew up in Sabaody then it could explain things like Baby Croc's serious expression and how he has a gun; there are dangerous people in Sabaody, the kid would've had to learn to defend himself from a young age (and I'm sure Shakky would've been happy to teach her child how to fight, since the Kuja are fierce warriors and being powerful is beautiful etc). It would also explain Crocodile's racism towards Jinbei, since anti-Fishman racism is a common issue in Sabaody. He would also have grown up in a place where slavery and other shit is a commonly known and seen thing, as well as the crimes of the Tenryuubito. This would explain a lot about his general attitude towards the World Government
Also, if both of Crocodile's parents were pirates, and his dad also happened to literally be on the ship of the Pirate King... Yeah it would explain his career choises. And why he had gone to Roger's execution too, since that would've been not just the Greatest Pirate In The World, but also his father's captain
And if these two were Croc's parents, it could explain his title; he could be "Sir" Crocodile because he is the son of an empress, or it could be a fucked up abbreviation from Silvers (note: it doesn't work like that in Japanese, since "sir" is like "saa" while "silvers" is "shirubaasu", but that's why I said "fucked up abbreviation")
Either way, his fullname would then be Sir Silvers Crocodile
A fitting name for a silver medalist, is it not
I just. I hate how much sense this would make
Tumblr media
Also I'll throw this out there; don't want to put too much money on the whole "they look similar" thing due to Oda's same face syndrome, but there is an argument to be made about Oda's fem!Croc looking quite similar to Shakky, while if you squint your eyes, a younger Rayleigh could kinda look a bit like regular Croc (they even have the same haircut, awe), though it's hard to judge since we have so little art of young Rayleigh and old Rayleigh is, well, visibly much older than Crocodile
Really the only things I can think of that COULD debunk the idea are that Crocodile is MUCH TALLER than either Rayleigh or Shakky, and his bloodtype doesn't match (the two are A/AB while Croc is O). And my normal instinct would be like "if they were related then surely these details would add up because Oda is insane", but also. They are minor details. IDK man
Also, Crocodile aside. Shakky and Rayleigh have known each other for a long ass time, and Rayleigh's tendency to sleep around, it is entirely possible the two could have had a child at some point. And that really would explain why Shakky quit being an Empress. Like it doesn't even have to be Crocodile, it would just make sense if they had a kid and if that kid became the reason to Shakky quitting. The question is, who could that child then be?? And what happened to them??

One Piece Questions
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
If you are not up to date with the weekly release of manga chapters, don't read this!
This is a personal post, just to help me keep track of stuff while reading through it. But, feel welcome to enlighten me if you have a good answer to one of the questions!
CURRENT-PLACED
REVERIE/WANO
1. Somebody tell me what EXACTLY happened to Kuma?!
Why is he not with the Revolutionary Army? Why did he agree with Vegapunk to turn himself into a cyborg? WHY TF IS HE A SLAVE??? What is his connection with Bonney?
2. What happened at the Reverie?
Who died? Who almost got killed? Are Vivi and Sabo alright?????
ANSWER: ONE PIECE (#1054) So...... Sabo is doing more than just alright, he is an emperor himself now apparently... And like it was predicted, The World Govt. blamed Sabo for Vivi's father death, who was clearly killed by the Gorosei, and Sabo managed to declare war AND RESCUE KUMA??? Congratulations, my dude 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. BUT VIVI HAS GONE MISSING??? EXCUSE ME SIR BUT Why is nobody doing anything to find her???? That should be Fucking No.1 in the list of your priorities!!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! If anything happens to Vivi, I'm slitting my wrists. Good fucking bye! 😡😡 (24/07/22)
3. What "new weapon" is the Navy in possession of that makes them not "need" the Shichibukai anymore?
4. Who did Shanks talk about to the Gorosei?
5. Did Dragon declare the war?
ANSWER: ONE PIECE (#1054) Like I said, war has been declared by the main man himself, Sabo, apparently The World's Protagonist according to the latest chain of events! He did his job right! And apparently, didn't get caught while doing it! Good for him! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 (24/07/22)
6. What are in the 7 chambers of Im-sama?
7. Who wants Vegapunk in Wano? Kaido or Orochi? Why?
8. Is Kaido going to die?
I think Kaido NEEDS to die to finish Wano’s arc. He must go down so the people from Wano can open their borders.
9. What is Kaido's and Yamato's race?
10. What is King's race?
ANSWER: (ONE PIECE #1033) King's a survivor of the Lunaria Tribe, that was extinct. A long time ago, they were called "gods". Apparently, King is super resistant and can survive to any circumstance (???). His wings catch fire, but he hasn't used them to fly until now, just like the skyfolk... (26/11/2021)
11. How are they going to open Wano's borders exactly? They are natural borders.
The reason why it’s so difficult to enter Wano is because of the geography surrounding the country. The island is on top of a mountain accessed by a waterfall that runs down, but the kois run it all the way up. Once you arrive upstairs, there is a whirlpool to drown ships. Even before climbing the mountain, we can see several ships broken apart by the whirlpools.
12. Are we going to see more of the Marines or Govt. in Wano?
Akainu says he’s not going there. But Sengoku planted a good question in his mind. Also, SWORD (X Drake) and CP0 are in Wano, already, apparently to confirm Who’s Who identity and death.
13. Why is Momonosuke's fruit a failure?
The reason why it was left behind in Punk Hazard was because Vegapunk considered it to be a failure. Now, during Wano, the CP0 brought it up again, saying “good it turned out to be a failure”.
14. How far goes Zoro's relation to Wano?
Apparently, Zoro would have a connection to the Shimotsuki family. We know the village Zoro is from is named Shimotsuki Village, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is a descendant of the Shimotsukis because we have never seen Zoro’s biological parents.
ANSWER: (ONE PIECE #1033) Okay, so I'm happy Zoro is still an orphan with no super important parents that were never mentioned until it became relevant. Kuina's family is a branch of the Shimotsukis. Her grandfather, Kozaburo, forged Enma and left Wano to settle in the East Blue. And then Zoro ended up learning some stuff about swords with him. I loved that!! 😁😁 (26/11/2021)
15. What is Blackbeard after? (Ch. 956)
He says that if the Marine can get their hands on it, he could just take it for himself. I mean, in the translation I read, that’s what he says.
16. And what is his relation to Xebec?
Blackbeard is currently stationed in Hachinosu Island, which used to be the base for the Rocks Pirates. Also, his ship is named The Saber of Xebec.
17. What exactly happened at the God Valley Incident?
38 years ago, the Celestial Dragons and some slaves were at God Valley. To protect them from the Rocks Pirates, Garp and Roger fought together. Apparently, Rocks D. Xebec died during the incident. Also, Big Mom gave Kaidou his devil fruit during the incident.
Why is it not talked about? Why does the WG hide this as well? Why were the Celestial Dragons there? Why did Garp protect them even though he says he doesn’t like them? Why was Roger in the picture as well?
18. And how did it "vanish"?
Apparently, the island disappeared without leaving any trace behind. How did that happen? Who did that?
19. More about SWORD.
Do all SWORD members have an X scar? Does that make Fujitora a SWORD member, perhaps?
20. Where is the Road Poneglyph of Kaido?
So far, Law has found one, but since it doesn’t have the same greyish hue as the first one we see in Zou, it’s not a Road one. Also, Brook has found one poneglyph at Orochi’s Castle at the Flower Capital.
21. WTF did Luffy say that Roger said as well? (Ch.585/Ch.966)
22. Are we going to read anything from Oden's journal at the end of the arc?
I know that, technically, we did during his flashback, but I mean now that Yamato has the journal and gave it to Momo.
23. What did Roger tell Shanks in Lodestar? (Ch.968)
24. Why did he laugh?
25. What's up with this Sun God Nika thing?
Who’s Who says it is a legendary warrior who the slaves believed would free them one day, also that it’s laughs would cure their suffering. Was them made... of rubber?? (03/05/2022)
26. WHO'S WHO HAD THE GOMU GOMU NO MI???? SHANKS STOLE THE FRUIT???? AND WENT TO EAST BLUE???? WTF
ANSWER: It's not the Gomu Gomu no Mi. My life is a lie. (Ch.1044)
The other questions still stand tho. (03/05/2022)
27. Why did Zunesha come to Wano so suddenly? And Joy Boy is like a title and not the name of a person??
ANSWER: Apparently Zunesha was there to "open the borders" of Wano. How was it gonna do that? We will never know, Momonosuke sent it away. The other question still stands up.
POST TIME-SKIP
FISHMAN ISLAND • PUNK HAZARD • DRESSROSA • ZOU • WHOLE CAKE ISLAND
1. How the F is Luffy going to destroy Fishman Island?
2. What's up with Zoro's scar?
It’s been there forever and it’s never been hinted on. Also, nobody talks about it?? Like, have the others not realized he’s missing an eye this entire time?? Does nobody care enough to ask??
3. Why is Aokiji with the Blackbeard Pirates?
4. What secret(s) does Doflamingo know about Mariejois?
While I think that there is a possibility of it being about the D. name, just like Corazon had something to tell Law, I think he knows way more stuff.
5. What did Corazon mean exactly when he said "The D. are the natural enemies of the Gods"?
I don’t know, but it looks to me that there is something else there. Corazon reminds of a child talking about a nightmare, which makes sense because he was only a child when he left Mariejois and opposite to his brother, he had no intention to recover his connection to that place. So I feel like, this is not the whole information and we can get a full, more accurate view on this saying from Doflamingo, maybe?
6. Why did Fujitora blind himself?
7. Did Bellamy do anything against the Sky Island People? I don’t think so, but...
8. What happened in Baltigo?
9. Does Blackbeard want anything to do with the Revolutionary Army?
10. What crime did Zunesha commit?
11. Who sentenced it to walk forever? Was it other giant elephants? Or Wano people?
12. Why is Momo able to order Zunesha to do stuff??
13. Why did the Kozuki Family and the Minks make an alliance? Why not Wano and the Minks, but specifically the Kozukis?
14. Why do both Wano and Zou preach about the Dawn of the World?
15. What's up with Pudding's race, the third-eye tribe?
I know they are able to use the Voice of All Things to figure out what’s written in the poneglyphs, okay… But why does it work like that, their third eye? Why is that their special ability?
16. What’s the incident in Rocky Port with Law and Coby?

Okay, I’m just gonna keep talking about this now that I finished Dressrosa:
What I find funny about Smoker is that he either tries with his whole being to arrest them or he doesn’t try at all. Before the shit hits the fan he’s all “damn criminals, gotta take them to prision”. Once they get involved in whatever shit is currently happening he goes “unfortunately, this calls for a truce. We defeat the big evil and then I won’t chase your ass until we meet again”.
Meanwhile, Fujitora has to keep the pretense that he is trying to bring them to justice but he never actually wants to. When Luffy first tries to introduce himself he goes “I can’t see you, so as long as you don’t tell me who you are I cannot know. Isn’t it nice, when there’s no need to arrest anybody?”. He milks the excuse of “I’m but a clumsy old man” for all its worth. He goes “the dice have not aligned”. His position is important, because it’s what allows him to do what he wants to do, so he needs to keep it and, for that, he needs to keep up the pretense. But he really doesn’t want to, and it shows.
and, on another note, Fujitora is, so far, the only marine I truly respect (with, perhaps, the exception of Tashigi). Smoker is not a bad person and a fun character but I can’t trully respect his job, his fixation on the pirates! aspect of it. Garp is a funny geezer but he crafted his position to do the aspects of his job he likes and he has no relation to the things that would bother him (he coul’ve become an admiral, but that would require him to protect tenryuubitos and whatnot, so instead of getting a promotion and having to face the injustice of the system he can just keep pretending his job is all that’s good with the world). Kuzan is a terrible marine who does just enoug to consider himself a good person (not enough to be a good person. His personal bar of what good means seems to be considerably low). The less said about Sengoku the better. Every time that man opens his mouth I hate him more.
But Fujitora has a way to go about things that I truly apreciate. When he says he wants to dismantle the shichibukai system he could’ve phrased it like “pirates have no place serving the government”. What he says instead is along the lines of “it’s a system that has proved to be fallible, and the government failed to manage the risks and consecuences, so it needs to go”. At several points he remarks the mistakes of both the government and the marines. And not only does he state that his main concern is the safety of the people, but he’s actually meticulous about it. He is not an idealist, he doesn’t talk about big ideals, ideas that often remain as nothing but abstract concepts. The justice most marines talk about is just a pretext to do awful shit, very rarelly does it have noticeable good effects. He, on the other hand, is practical about it, has his priorities straight, and he makes sure things get done.
Fujitora sets himself very concrete goals and he is methodic about acomplishing them. He is a very interesting mix of a good, kind person, and a calculating, cunning, even oportunistic mind that knows what’s what. In one piece there are various pirates that are like that (Nami and Usopp are the first that come to mind) but most marines are either good and terribly naive/in denial, or terrible people that know how the world works and use it to their advantage.
That means I like Fujitora a great deal as a person and as a character, but I now live in fear of the time when he disapoints, when he does something morally dubious. Because if he proves himself a dubious/bad person then he will not only be a driven bad person (the likes of Sakazuki) but a smart and competent one.
And seeing him become a typical cop would break mi little heart

funny how differently Crocodile & Moria are treated by fans - how consistently Croc is called one of the best/favorite villains which i still don’t quite get while Moria one of the worst - despite that they are actually rather similar?
* both were knocked down in the Pirate King race and knocked down hard (losing all or most of their crew in the process) * both became bitter and have trust issues (to the point of paranoia) because of that (although Moria managed to built some connections before the story started) * both set out to search for more “external firepower” after being defeated (Pluton / powerful zombie army) * both of their Devil fruits have some quite terrifying abilities * both use their Shichibukai status to cover up their ‘heinous deeds’ (although Croc is a bit smarter about that i guess), not that they’re the only ones to do that * and of course both were knocked down by Luffy
in my eyes, the only things Crocodile has going for him are that he retained his ‘good’ looks and never showed his fear outwardly (or not too much perhaps?) ok, and a cunning plan, while Moria gained weight and practically broke down during the fight with Strawhats which is actually very relatable? but how unmanly, how pathetic
also, i’m salty that Mihawk is widely considered to be Perona’s dad and not Moria, who, you know, actually raised her? but that’s beside the point
fortunately, or unfortunately, Luffy’s fists do not discriminate
