I've read a bunch of fics, especially some crossovers, where Red Hood is or was on the FBI's most wanted list. A couple where he's on like the CIA's or Interpol's or something. But do you know what I'd find hilarious?
He's on absolutely none of them.
A big fanon thing, and sometimes canon (looking at you, No Man's Land), is that the federal government just kind of... doesn't get involved in Gotham? It's just left to it's own devices.
So combine that with both Gothamites-hate-outsiders and the idea that there are so many more/worse people to deal with than the crime boss who's somehow been bringing crime down, and, well. Sure, they have a file on the guy, but it's bare bones and nowhere near the top priority list.
Even funnier is if this is pre-reveal, so Batman doesn't know it's Jason that's running around taking over crime and whatever, he's just busy trying to find out who this guy who put a bunch of heads in a duffel bag is. He makes some small comment about it at some JL meeting and everyone is like, whomst?
Like sure, people outside of Gotham who do hear about Red Hood are horrified, but also it's... normal? Isn't that normal for Gotham? They all hear so many crazy stories coming out of Gotham that who knows what's exaggerated or not, but that's not even... that weird? Like, gory, sure, but... it's Gotham.
Just every outsider's views of Gotham being so skewed and/or biased that hardly anyone blinks an eye at some rising crime boss in the most crime-ridden city on the planet.
#other people pointing out to Bruce that his fixation with RH is weird considering he has worse rogues AND worse mobsters to deal with#I think he needs that

Oh, I had assumed the first message was about deaths that DON'T make you sob over the character's brutal demise. I've been seeing a lot of those lately. Kinda makes me want to tell writers to stop killing people until they know how to write a heartbreaking scene without it
If a character I like dies and all I can feel about it is 'meh' then I'm going to be hella disappointed. Where's my tears? Where's my cathartic sobbing? What do I do with the next thirty minutes of my life? Just watch/read another chapter?! As if nothing happened?!
im starting to think you guys dont like it when stories make you feel things
#and there certainly IS a tendency in fans to think that if no one dies then the story is not serious#but I hate when a death feels like they're just checking the box of 'serious story'#if that's how it happens then yeah I'd rather they didn't kill anyone. making me feel indifferent is the worse thing a story could do to me#I love a well executed tragedy. I've watched a show six times just to see my favorite character die at the end of it every single time#but 'character you liked is no longer in the story' is not enough to count. if things are done right I can cry about a character I've just#met. if they're not a long lasting favorite character can die and all I'll feel is pissed off

you approach him, ready to fight, you expect a spells, you expect flamming swords, but what he does instead is break off a steal pipe, barehanded, and beat you with it

Remembering the panel of Gordon commenting on Robin having hit a “growth spurt” after Tim replaced Jason and I’m thinking, wouldn’t it be fucked up if Gotham had no idea the second Robin died?
#if that were the case that's just even more reason for jason to kill people about it#not only did his father not avenge him but he covered his death as a civilian AND in costume#so not only was justice not made but bruce reduced the number of people who could've demanded it#and of course another way to erase jason#it'd be fucked up

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.
- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.
- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.
- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.
