sanjis promise to kuma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in chapter 485, Sanji interrupted Zoro and Kuma as they were about to make a deal in exchange for letting Luffy go free. In this moment, Sanji swore that one day, he would be the one to cause the most trouble for the Navy and the World Government.
Ever since Bonney commented on Vegapunk turning Kuma in to a cyborg in chapter 1062, I have been wondering if this promise will come full circle in this arc. Oda has been slowly building on the parallels between Sanji and Kuma. But why?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 485 was titled for Zoro, and it led to the 'nothing happened' moment. Given how iconic and significant that has become, don't you think it's also significant that it's here that Sanji stepped in?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Could it be that Oda is preparing to give Sanji a moment that will parallel Zoro's 'nothing happened'? Is this how Sanji will fulfil the promise that he made to Kuma at Thriller Bark? Will his words to Zoro from Wano come around again?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanji has often before gone on solo missions and risked his own life in order to sabotage the enemy's plans. In Little Garden and Alabasta, he tricked Crocodile; and at Enies Lobby, he stole the cuff keys from Jabra, and sabotaged the Buster Call.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that Kuma has arrived at Egghead, and another Buster Call as been initiated, it seems like the perfect time for Sanji's promise from Thriller Bark to come full circle. But what role will he play? And how will it explain his parallels to Kuma?
Speaking of the parallels between Sanji and Kuma, this is a good time to mention 'the power of love.' What does Oda mean by this? And how does it connect to Kuma being able to maintain a fragment of his humanity?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This may explain why Kuma's instinct to protect his daughter was able to override or delay the process of his humanity being erased. I believe it also explains the significance of Sanji's parallels to Kuma, and how he will fulfil his promise from Thriller Bark.
The significance of the parallels between Sanji may be leading toward Sanji taking the risk of losing his humanity again. But how will we get to that? Before we get that far, how will Oda set it up?
When I was planning this thread, I wondered what moments from the past that Oda might parallel here. To start with, I believe Sanji will steal Kizaru's, just as he stole the keys from Jabra back at Enies Lobby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once Sanji has stolen Kizaru's intercept Transponder Snail, he will be able to listen in on and discover the enemy's plans. Sanji could even speak directly with the other Gorosei. Just as he did with Crocodile in Little Garden and Alabasta.
Tumblr media
niji and the other vinsmokes had the ability to mimic other people's voices ( shown in wci) so sanji could mimic kizaru or saint saturns voice to obtain this info like how he pretended to be mr3
Just as Sanji sabotaged Enel's Ark Maxim in Skypiea, Sanji may also sabotage and destroy the Mother Flame power station. The parallels would even extend to Sanji addressed "God," and the theme of "a light."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Could Oda be building up to Sanji putting himself in front of a blast from the Mother Flame in oder to destroy it manually and prevent it from being fired again? It would continue the parallel of Sanji taking a direct hit from Enel after sabotaging the Ark Maxim.
How could Sanji survive such a thing? This would be where his genetic augmentations and altered Lineage Factors come back in to it. The enhanced durability and regeneration in particular would be relevant here. 'A step into the realm of Godhood.'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's worth remembering that it was the discovery of Lineage Factors that led the World Government to arresting Vegapunk in the first place. They felt threatened by it. We've surely not yet seen the maximum potential of the Lineage Factor augmentations.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Speaking of the full potential of Sanji's power, I have spoken before about how I believe this progression and the attack names will be themed around the life cycle of a star.
Tumblr media
I believe that this is how Sanji will fulfil his promise to Kuma from Thriller Bark, and become the one who causes the most trouble for the World Government. Sanji will risk his life and his humanity to destroy the Mother Flame power station, and sabotage the "Great Cleasing."
The key to Sanji's survival will likely be his genetic augmentations, but the key to him not losing his humanity in the effort is in the "Primal Desires." and the "Undying power of love."

Alt. Crocodile Theory: Crocodile and Dragon are Brothers.
Garp named one kid "Dragon"—who's to say he wouldn't name his other kid "Crocodile"? They're both big lizards, afterall.
And it's not unusual that Garp wouldn't've mentioned having another kid considering Luffy didn't even know he had a dad (much less who his dad was) until Garp mentioned it offhand—by accident—when Luffy was already seventeen years old. Garp's simply not the kind of person to really talk about this sort of stuff.
Additionally, it's also possible that Garp doesn't even know that Crocodile is his son. How would that work? Trans Crocodile Theory.
If Crocodile changed both his name and appearance then it's possible that Garp might not've even recognized him... Especially when combined with the large facial scar and hook.
Then again, maybe Garp is fully aware and just never thought to mention it to anyone. That would be very in-character of him, honestly...
Sengoku: How's your daughter, Garp? I haven't heard you mention her in forever... She's not up to any criminal activities, is she? Like your other spawn...
Garp: What on earth are you going on about, Sengoku? *crunches rice cracker* I don't even have a daughter.
Sengoku: ???!?
Or maybe Crocodile cut off contact with his family around the time Gol D. Roger was executed, and so he didn't even know that his brother had had a kid—that he had a nephew—until it was announced at Marineford, and that's why he suddenly started protecting Luffy...
Not because Luffy is his son, but because Luffy is his nephew.
(A nephew he didn't even know he had...)

More initial thoughts on Crocodiles Seraphim:
All of the Serpahim we've seen have devil fruits. Boas has the Mero Mero no mi just like Hancock and Kumas the Nikyu Nikyu, so I would assume Moriahs will have the Kage Kage no mi and Doffys would have the Ito Ito ni mi.
Mihawks & Jinbes were also given new fruits, Supa Supa & Sui Sui.
However with Croc, we know Vegapunk couldn't have given his Seraphim the Suna Suna no mi cos its a logia
Tumblr media
Thinking about what Paramecias Vegapunk would have access to clone + ones that would thematically work for Crocodile I hope we'll see the seraphim use one of the following;
Sabi Sabi no mi (Rust) or Doku Doku no mi (Poison). But who knows maybe for Crocodiles Seraphim Oda will give us an unseen devil fruit ability.
Another consideration I have is other modifications Vegapunk may have made.
Tumblr media
Comparing the Serpahim with Odas previous drawing of young croc, we can see that the scar across its face was added artificially since it wasnt a birth mark.
But I wonder if this means Vegapunk may have removed one of Crocs Seraphims hands to make room for a hook or if the Serpahim will have both hands?
Either way I can't wait to see more of this Serpahim!!!!

Ok i have a theory on what could be Luffy's secret dream and after searching some theories on that i didn't find any mentioning this so i'm putting this here let's go (spoiler end of wano)
I think luffy's secret dream is to go on the moon! Ok hear me out, first we know it has to be something a kid could think of because he told Ace and Sabo about it when they were kids (and like every kids want to be an astronaut so it works).
Second, in the cover stories we learn that Enel went on the moon so that could be a way to see Enel again (and since Enel went there we know it's possible and i really want the strawhat to go on the moon that'd be amazing) and it's also said it something that seems impossible, even more than being king of the pirates.
And 3rd point look at everyones reactions:
Tumblr media
It fits! What threw me off at first is how different everyone reaction's was, especially chopper and usopp's like you would expect them to have a similar reaction due to their cowardly personalities like if Luffy said something like "i want to throw the biggest party in the world!" both would have a positive reaction like Chopper and if he said "i want to destroy the world government!" both would be scared like Usopp but here Usopp is real unsure while Chopper is like "thats awesome!".
These reactions fit the theory, Chopper just thinks it's awesome, seeing the thing from a kid's perspective while Usopp thinks "oh shit we really going on the moon oh fuck can we even breath out there ahhh". Nami, Jinbe, Robin and Zoro's reactions are on the "???" spectrum while Brook, Sanji, Franky (and Shanks it seems) just think it's funny as shit. I think that could be their reaction to Luffy's dream being "I want to go on the moon". There you go i've been thinking about this for months, thanks for reading, i did not reread this post before posting there's probably many mistakes and stuff that means nothing have a good day

I understand if you don’t have time or energy to do it, but if you ever find a moment to write some of your buggy theories I would die of happiness
Oh boy I have so many and half of them barely makes any sense-
Putting this under a read more because Jesus-
First and foremost, I found a guy on either Instagram or Reddit(?) who had a theory about how the original user of the Chop-Chop fruit might have been responsible for the way the world of one piece looks like.
Everything is more or less split into smaller islands where the only large landmass to be seen is the red line. So their theory was that the original user of the chop-chop fruit had awakened their powers (being able to apply the logic of their powers onto other beings/things) and split the entire world into smaller pieces. For what purpose I do not know, but that the end of the series is going to have Buggy awaken as well, and bring everything back into “One piece”.
A second theory I had for a while is that Buggy is the son of Big Mom, but was for some reason adopted by the Roger Pirates instead. It’s not unusual for Big Mom to abandon/kill her kids so it wouldn’t surprise me, considering how there is a large amount of her children who has not only a circus/carnival theme, but also big insecurities about their appearance. (Katakuris mouth, Brûlées scars and Puddings third eye). With the introduction of the whole “population culling” that was introduced in the latest chapter, it made me wonder if there really might have been a so called “red nose tribe” or something of the sorts and Big Mom having a kid from that race before they were entirely wiped out since she likes to collect people.
Third is pretty simple: Buggy has haki, really good fucking haki to be honest, but he doesn’t know about it and uses it instinctively. There are many instances in both the manga and anime (and now also live action) where he really should have gotten hit or hurt but splits before anything can actually happen to him. For example: when he was chased by a bluegori in impeldown he managed to perfectly dodge every punch despite not looking at where it was going to swing, when he was shot at by Kizaru he managed to turn his head at the exact right moment and avoided it, surviving being sliced up by Yoru despite it being a haki coated blade and so on and so forth-
Now that might be chalked up to just being comic relief and that’s just why I have this theory. Buggy IS comic relief, but so is Luffy. The whole story of one piece centers around laughter, hell- the last island is called “Laugh-Tale” so why wouldn’t a comic relief actually be one of the strongest?
Welp- I don’t know if I managed to relay my theories well enough here since my thoughts are a bit jumbled atm and I’m also typing this out on my phone but I hope they made some sense at least. Hope you found my ramblings a bit interesting anyway, the more people who get into this cringefail clown the better <3

Stealth Black is interesting, I feel so.
As you known, his color, black is interesting color in Japanese “Super Sentai Series”.
In this series, the color of black has so many meaning.
ex. treachery, heresy, sometimes last member of team.
So many meanings the Black has.
I like Stealth Black. So I would see his contents for a while.
Please entertain me. His cool Black, I hope so forever. Don't you?
Ha.

I've had this thought about One Piece lately
What if Luffy loses his power?
What if, someone who knows about Nika and the Void century has that ability to revoke devil fruit powers?
And they see that Luffy has amassed a huge gathering of people to fight for him, so they take away his power.
They take away Nika, because to them, these people are following Luffy because he is the Sun God.
And now, their God is no more. Reduced to mere boy once more.
But to their horror, that doesn't stop them.
Little do they realize, it was never Nika that reached out to these people.
It was Luffy.
His kindness and his actions were what moved them to help him now.
Not Nika's.
And no matter how hard they try, they cannot take away who Luffy is.

Great Reddit theory on how its desire, not destiny.
Theory is slightly outdated given the reveal in chapter 1103 but it still holds up.
Basically the theory states that its not destiny but the same desire manifesting itself through the centuries. Luffy isn't the reincarnation of Joyboy so much as he is someone with the same desire as Joyboy.
The reason why a lot of fruits feel so tailor made to the user is because the fruits manifest near those who might need it. Of course this doesn't explain the fruit spawning in Punk Hazard. Maybe Zoans work differently ( they have their own soul after all) but it does explain characters who have powers most convienient to them and how two fruits from the isolationist country of Wano ended up with users from East Blue. It also explains why the Gorosei believe the fruit to be elusive.
It also harkens back to Roger's old quote " there are things humans cannot stop: a humans will, a humans dream and the changingbof an era".
And Blackbeard's "a man's dream will never die".

watching wano (specifically where the Minks go Sulong to fight Kaido/Jack)
I wonder if the original Joyboy/Nika was a Mink? The animation they're using for Sulong forms looks REALLY similar to what I've seen of Gear Five. It would also give some context to how Joyboy was connected with Zuneisha.
Joyboy being a monkey Mink would be really interesting imo

sanji will face v nasujuro and the gorosei connections to sanji
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Middle Way (We are OnePiece) @MiddleWay23 · Apr 8 I think it’s more likely to be mars but there’s a lot of weird connections with sanji and the gorosei through germa it’s almost like they are all in some way related to him Imu @StImuNerona · 12h What are the connections only asking because im curious! EchoEternum427 @eternum427 · 10h Jupiter: resemblance, agriculture linked to cooking, him looking the youngest could link him to Germa (300 years old) Mars: flight, Mars as the god/planet of war and Germa having a big focus on war Saturn: science, spider (Sanji is afraid of bugs), his legs look like diable jambe EchoEternum427 @eternum427 · 9h Venus: the V=Vinsmoke idea, this tweet, Venus rotates at 177 degrees and Sanji's only alive bounty was 177 Really, the only one I can't see a possible connection to Sanji with is Warcury Most of it is probably coincidence, but it's fun to think about
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Plus the yokai Venus is based off a Bakotsu was a horse who died due flames and sanji has multiple associations to Venus also nasujiro and zeff called sanji chibinasu plus sanji could give zoro the shodai kitetsu for zoro shouldnt lose any of the swords he uses in final battle
Tumblr media
Plus there is the fact sanjis backstory is based off the man in the iron mask who is said to be the twin brother of the sun king born in at germain
Hikaru-chwan;
@PinkHairedCoder
Judge spoke of the former people of Germa left as wondering ghosts unable to set foot on their homeland and disgracing their memory so we can infer they're probably vengeful. The Itsumade in some myths are created from vengeful spirits, not just attracted by them. When mentioning prefectures, Oda said Sanji would be Kyoto where the myth of the Itsumade originates. Then there's also this of course:
Tumblr media
sanjis backstory is based off man in the iron mask ( and the sun king was born in st germain the name of germa's flagship
And the Germa cover story is the only one to actually be integrated with the arc it's in, implying there's something special about it Oda's definitely cooking *something* with Sanji right now What that is is anyone's guess, though

One thing i find really interesting is that at one point it was said that Zoan type divil fruits influence their users, wich would put more reason behind why luffy seems to liberate entire countrys for something as simple as a single bowl of rice. His devil fruit literally makes him a god, and a common offering for gods is food, so when people give him food and tell him about their problems he automatically wants to help them since they technically made an offering

Do you have favourite one piece theories? Like shanks being celestial dragon or having twin etc?
Hmmm, to be honest? The one that seems to make the most sense (at the time of typing this) is the theory of Bonney being an actual child who just uses her DF to look older in order to get a crew and rescue her father.
Shanks being a celestial dragon seems very likely since one of the silhouettes of the “Gods knights” being damn close to his + The entire interaction with the Gorosei
However for the more popular yet far fetched theories like Crocodile being Luffys mother, eeeeh- nah. I mean it sure as hell would be entertaining but I don’t think so.
I do have a few theories surrounding Buggy but sweet lord that would take forever to go through

OK HEAR ME OUT
People are noticing the new SPYxFAMILY 2nd cour OP is very Yor and Anya-centric
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS IS BECAUSE THE OP IS LARGELY SHOT FROM LOID'S POV
Notice in most of the scenes he's in, he's walking behind or towards everyone else
Tumblr media
And in the scenes he's missing from, the in frame characters are looking backwards to the camera
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or the perspective is shot from above or at eye level, because he's looking down on Anya or crouching to meet her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALSO, if you really want to cry, the song is called "Souvenir" so Loid is literally saving these color-filled memories as souvenirs for when his mission is done and he needs to leave 😢😢😢
But GOD I hope he stays, he loves them so much and they bring so much color to each others lives 😭😭😭😭😭

What if the earth god in OP is or can turn into a giant snake? and that’s why the shandorans refer to the snakes on their land as gods?
What if the earth god is based on Jormungandr??
Come to think of it, there was a point where Nola (the giant snake on sky island currently for those who don’t remember) fought Eneru and lost, and now I’m wondering if that’s a reference to thor vs jormangandr in ragnarok...
Or if we’re going to see Eneru fight a different giant snake at some point... possibly even this god if they truly are based on jormungandr...
