People are noticing the new SPYxFAMILY 2nd cour OP is very Yor and Anya-centric

THIS IS BECAUSE THE OP IS LARGELY SHOT FROM LOID'S POV

Notice in most of the scenes he's in, he's walking behind or towards everyone else

And in the scenes he's missing from, the in frame characters are looking backwards to the camera

Or the perspective is shot from above or at eye level, because he's looking down on Anya or crouching to meet her:

ALSO, if you really want to cry, the song is called "Souvenir" so Loid is literally saving these color-filled memories as souvenirs for when his mission is done and he needs to leave 😢😢😢

But GOD I hope he stays, he loves them so much and they bring so much color to each others lives 😭😭😭😭😭

I read that Anya's design was adapted from Ashe, a character in Tatsuya Endo's previous one-shot Rengoku no Ashe so I decided to read it.

And you can straight away see the resemblance, the pink hair the Eden uniform the “horns”. But as I was reading the one shot, Ashe’s character resembled Yor more. Ashe and Anya’s powers are somewhat similar but their approach to dealing with it is different, Anya craves stimulation, she is energetic bubbly and cheerful, but Ashe’s personality is rather serious, quite and socially withdrawn (because she has to hide her “witch” powers) like Yor.

In terms of appearance Ashe wears the same spiked earrings like Yor and she too has red eyes. Additionally Yor and Ashe face structure is similar, Endo draws them both the same way.

The same contemplative gaze.

The same fight stance.

It seems like Endo Sensei decided to split Ashe’s character design into two separate characters for Spy x Family. And that’s just amazing because I always wondered what Anya would have looked like if she was Loid and Yor’s biological child and the answer is Ashe. (Let’s pretend Loid’s genes are very dormant).

I hope teenage Anya continues to look like Ashe, I want other characters to comment on how Anya looks exactly like her mother. Twilight often wonders how he managed to adopt a girl that grew to resemble Yor so much, Fiona (internally in tears) tells new recruits at WISE how skilled and analytical best spy Twilight is to forge a family that look so alike.

Damian has a little crush on Yor because he thinks she is pretty, years later he looks at teenage Anya and just goes oh shit, Melinda finds it adorable. Camilla thinks Yor and Loid had Anya in secret years ago and where hiding her like a shameful secret. Yuri is convinced that Yor’s love and care is so great that they have powers to remodel genes.

Yor is awake in an instant.

She remains perfectly still, eyes closed. Her breathing doesn't change, even and seamless despite the way her heart thuds just a tiny bit faster.

She's not alone in the dark.

It happens sometimes -- when she wakes up. She had lived alone for so long that even after all these months she still forgets that she shares an apartment with two other people. The room still feels unfamiliar, the noises of other people through the walls. She's always been a light sleeper, far too aware of the dangers of this world.

After all, she is one of them.

When she was younger, it was her responsibility to look out for Yuri. And it only takes a second for that instinct to take hold. But this time, it isn't her brother she needs to protect.

"Miss Anya," she breathes, acutely aware of the distant whimpers from the room next door.

She's flying down the hall in less than a second, quietly slipping into Anya's room and scanning the shadows for any sign of trouble.

Nothing. The window is shut tight and there is no trace of an intruder. All that catches her eye is the Anya-sized lump buried under the blankets, crying softly.

Yor realizes she's clutching a stiletto blade in her hand, and quickly stashes it behind a stuffed animal on the shelf by the door. Agent Ducky can hold on to it for a little while.

"Miss Anya!" She dashes to her bedside, kneeling and gently prying the blankets back an inch. A tiny hand reaches out to hold the blanket in place and then freezes.

"Mama?" a tiny, shaking voice asks.

"I'm here," Yor promises. "Would you like to come out from under the blanket?"

A mop of pink hair emerges, and then two shining green eyes. Her cheeks are wet. "I had a dream that they took me away from you and Papa," she admits, trying to fight back more tears.

"Oh, Anya," Yor scoops her into a hug. "I'm never going to let anyone take you away from us."

I'd kill anyone who tried, she vows.

Anya stiffens in her arms, and Yor realizes she has never been very affectionate with the girl until now. However, the moment Anya relaxes, she realizes just how much she enjoys holding her.

My daughter, she realizes, eyes widening in the dark. Anya makes a pleased sound and nestles even deeper into her shoulder, tears staining Yor's nightgown.

Loid is shocked the next morning to find Yor curled up on Anya's too-small bed, a mess of pink hair cradled in her arms as both sleep soundly. He lets himself smile and feels his heart swell. This mission has turned out to be dangerous in a way he had never anticipated.

loid "for the mission" forger, who proposes to his wife with a grenade pin, takes out his wife and daughter to experience the finest indulgences the town can offer, almost punch an interviewer for making his (fake) daughter cry, celebrate his daughter's acceptance to school by renting out an entire castle and asking his coworkers to assist him with making an elaborate obstacle course for her, ask his wife out on a date because her well-being is crucial to the mission, set up cheesy bedsheets and photoshopped couple pictures to make his relationship with his "wife" more believable, feels guilty after suspecting his wife for knowing information about her SSS brother, wins a giant penguin plush for his daughter, pretends to be a penguin with his "robot" wife to make his daughter happy, agrees to adopt a dog used by a terrorist group for his daughter, fawn over his daughter (along with his wife) as she falls asleep with the family dog, waits for his wife to come home so they can eat together as a family, indulges in his wife's stew (despite being fearful for his stomach), brags about how his daughter can "jump over two vaulting boxes" and "jump rope five times in a row" to his boss, attempts to change his daughter's test answers out of fear of her failing, invites his wife to lunch after bumping into her on the street, lets his daughter play with the sandbox in his office (before being increasingly worried about her happiness seeing the chaotic scene she made), becoming defensive when a fellow coworker suggests that his (fake) wife should be replaced, repairing his daughter's toy penguin, walking his dog alongside his daughter regularly, contemplates asking his fake wife to be his REAL wife, lets himself enjoy his wife's humming for a bit while lying on her lap unconscious, constantly reassuring his (fake!) wife that she's doing a wonderful job as a mother and wife, letting his emotions slip through his trained facade as a spy and seeping through his fond looks and smiles for his family, looking at his wife as if through a shoujo manga filter, spends the day with his daughter on a cruise and saying that it was "lonesome" his wife wasn't able to join them for dinner, having an entire family day filled with activities and carrying his sleeping daughter and wife at the same time and looking at them with loving exasperation and a soft smile before heading home together as a family, and writes an entire original manga series complete with voiceovers so his daughter can retain her school studies.

This episode of spy family was as always very fun. The battle between Yor and Fiona ended exactly how I thought it would with Yor ending it in one blow, and Loid just being like 'i told you' completely unfazed.

It was fun right up until the episode ends with Yor making this face. Make Yor happy right now. Fix this.

My girl is so sad. For what?!?!?!!?
