Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
★ 📝 — notes: I actually wanted to do something like this but I didn't expect my last one to be received so well since I didn't try my best on it, but I'm glad you and many others liked it ^^
Also, quick heads-up: I don't know the Sumeru woman too well so if you, anon, or others reading this wanted more female characters, so sorry I only did a couple, and this again, isn't my favorite of my works, but it's not too bad I hope, and I'm so sorry this took so long to do.. my motivation just kinda plummeted to write this (not that I didn't like it). Not proofread btw, will read later (maybe)
       — word count: 1.1k , fandom: genshin impact , cw: none — ✦
" Dancing with the Sumerians "
Tumblr media
★ — Kaveh
Kaveh doesn’t know how to dance, like at all. He only knows the positions so if you don’t know how to dance either, you’re screwed. However, if you do know how to dance, he gets flustered at the thought of actually dancing with you in specific. Same with if you don’t know, but you two just fumble over each other and it just makes you two laugh.
The first time you dip him, he starts to misstep and his face is red. He liked it though, so please do it again. Kaveh would like to try and dip you too though, but he was kind of clumsy with it. You two would normally dance in his room while you two dance to the typical classical music with sumerian touches to it. If you kiss him when you dip him, he'll straight up stop moving. He'll regain his composure though and grumble to himself before kissing you as well.
Kaveh likes to be spun and then you lean him down, but not dipping him. He'll giggle about it later, and he'll try to do the same to you, but he'll probably fail. He tried though.
He doesn't know how to dance at all, but either learning or teaching him is always fun and it's always fun with the blond. ☆
Tumblr media
✦ — Alhaitham
Also doesn't know how to dance. He's not as clueless as his roommate, but still doesn't know where to put his feet. When you two dance, it's in his room as well and he'll look deep into your eyes, analyzing the colors as he also focuses on his footing whether you're teaching him or not. He'll be smiling when he finally knows how to dip you and kisses you before pulling you back up.
He learns quickly though so expect him to be able to dance good enough pretty soon. He also dances to the typical classical music, minus the Sumerian flare to it. Alhaitham overtime becomes a mediocre dancer and if need be, he’ll teach you some things if you didn’t teach him to dance. He doesn’t prefer to be dipped when dancing, but he’ll let it slide once or twice if you're able to dip him.
He'll definitely spin you and kean you down and smile slightly while doing so. You probably won't do the same to him, but he'll let you try to do so.
Overall, he’s an average dancer and learns quickly and dancing with him is definitely an experience. ✧
Tumblr media
★ — Cyno
Doesn't know how to dance either. He never took the time to learn so he just doesn't even know where to put his hands. If you don’t know how to dance either then expect to trip a few times and him making a pun about it. Cyno at least knows the music you’d dance to though.
He pretty much will never dip you or really do anything romantic unless you ask and teach him. Once he does learn though, expect him to at least dip you or kiss you a few times and he’s pretty good at it. You two don’t dance often, but he tries to dance with you when you two are free. If you dip him, he’ll just simple and go with it, maybe a joke here and there.
Dancing with Cyno isn’t very enthralling, but you know he loves you, you’ll just have to tolerate all the puns while dancing. ☆
Tumblr media
✦ — Tighnari
Knows how to dance to some extent. Tighnari knows where to put his hands, the basics of dancing, but his footing can be a bit off at times. He likes to dip you and smiles while doing so but wouldn’t mind being dipped either, he doesn't care. Tighnaris tail might gently wag on occasion as his ears would flick sometimes.
Like Alhaitham, he learns quickly if you teach him some things and is very attentive to what you say. He mainly focuses on his ranger work, but has enough free time to either practice dancing with you or to just dance.
Tighnari will dance with you when he can and sometime Collei will stumble in on you two and just leave you be, happy you two have an activity to do together. ✧
Tumblr media
★ — Nilou
She's a dancer, Nilou obviously knows how to dance, but might have to learn a few things for this type of dancing though. Even if you know how to dance you might learn a thing or two with her and she’d love to teach her lover how to dance, it’s her passion. She loves to dip you but also be dipped, and she wouldn’t really do things like kissing, but she would occasionally and let you smother her if you wanted to.
You two would dance to all kinds of music and she'd like to explore different dances couples would do, learning as well as she went. If it's a special occasion, she'll give you a kiss on the nose or maybe on the lips if she's able to dip you. If not, she'll she'll it while spinning with you.
No matter what gender you are, she doesn't care. As long as you'll dance with her, she'll dance with you. ☆
Tumblr media
✦ — Lisa (added her here because she's from Sumeru)
She knows how to dance as well. She’s not super experienced like Nilou, but she knows a little bit more than the basics. You two dance in the library when you two know no one will be around and she just puts on the typical classical music. You two have never really walked in on, but Paimon and Traveler did once.
Lisa absolutely loves to dip you, but she also adores being dipped equally so, so it's a win-win for you two in whatever you prefer you prefer to do. She also likes to be spun around as much as she likes to be spun around. She'll be gently laughing when done with a smile on her face, her hat usually being off when she dances with you.
Lisa absolutely loves dancing, especially with some sumerian flair, but she just loves you and will call you names of endearment throughout the dance. ✧
Tumblr media
★ — Wanderer
Dancing with him? He probably knows how to dance, but isn't willing to. Wanderer eventually caves in though, with the exception of some grumbling, and goes to dance with you. This is more of a one time thing, but he'll do it more if you politely ask him (with some poking a prodding).
He won't be super romantic, but he'll spin and dip you and tease you with a smirk while doing so. Wanderer won't dance for long, but the short moment lets you know how much Wanderer genuinely loves you. By the end, he's slightly flustered and might walk off, but he'll probably stay around.
Dancing with Wanderer is a rare opportunity, but it's a good experience with him and a rare moment of intimacy. ☆

The last dance - Nilou
So this is a hanahaki fic, gender neutral reader. Someone dies, heads up. Tagged as angst
--
You were friends with Nilou since you were young, and at first it was just a lovely friendship. Both of you were happy, not to mention you helped each other out whenever you could. When she told you of her feelings for someone else, you didn’t know how to react. At the time, you had such a strange feeling in your chest that you didn’t understand. You hadn’t realised your feelings were more than friendly, it was so gradual.
When they get together, you’re happy to see Nilou look so happy. It was like love gave her a new source of liveliness, which only made you like her more. You continue to be friends with her, and you know her lover is kind and respectful. You’re happy that she didn’t go for someone who was a walking red flag.
A few years after they get together, you slowly start feeling uneasy. You wake up, coughing something that had lodged into the back of your throat. Looking down, you see something that put everything into perspective.
Your feelings were not solely of friendship, they had included romance as well. You realised too late that you had these feelings, and now you knew that they were engaged, soon to be happily married.
The days grow into months, and your feelings only got worse. Nilou wanted to cheer you up, especially after you seemed so down. She prepares a performance including her partner who had grown to appreciate you as a friend as well.
She meant well.
As you observe her enter the stage with her lover, she makes a speech.
“Someone close to me has been graced tragically by a disease. One where their feelings for one are not returned.” She starts, an empathetic look to you before continuing. “I dedicate this dance to a good friend.”
Those words hurt. The word ‘friend’ specifically. It was like she was apologising to you for not returning your feelings despite the fact you never told her these feelings were for her.
As you watch Nilou dance, you know for a fact these are your last moments alive.
How sad, the last moments of your life are watching the one you hold deep feelings for dancing with the person they hold deep feelings for. They dance in sync, and they share a look of admiration occasionally when there’s moments of pausing on the stage.
As sad as it was, however, you find a part of you is relieved that these are your last moments. At least you get to see how happy she is with her partner one last time.

"Something on My Neck?"(+Art)
Genshin women various reaction on the hickey you left on them.
Established relationship, morning-after, ooohh women, ooohhh dominant women, you probably got soul sucked so hard you can't get out from the bed, implied submissive reader
Note : I only include characters that i think are (head)canonly adult/implied to be at least above 18
------------........------------
"Yeah, and?"
Unbothered and no attempt at covering at all. They have no shame, aren't they? NOPE! You are theirs, they are yours! So why would they be shy about it? It is just a sign of you both love each other so much. They are taken and in a very happy-loving relationship! A love thropy on their neck.
Huh?it's too much? They should've seen the state of your body after they finished with you
Not like they would share that special view!
Beidou, Shenhe (she is more likely not understanding that hickey is embarassing) , Raiden Shogun, Lisa
"Oh?A mark?Oh well"
There is an attempt, just a faint concealer or pull up the collar of their shirt. They still have dignity and wants to save yours too. They could imagine the color of your face if you realize people could see the hick-
Huh?oh...people already seen it? oh..well,whose business is that?
Ningguang, Candance, Raiden Ei, Rosaria, Shinobu
"Please ignore it"
Going all out hiding it; heavy concealer, that spoon trick, massaging it, putting their hair in certain way, and ended up using turtle neck or scarf or something. They have people to meet and reputation to keep, so it is unecessary to bring their attention to their love-making sign. Ahh..now they gotta answer why is their neck covered..It is so obvious too, they will go red and sweat drop anytime someone asks.
Maybe next time they will only allow you mark somewhere else
Dehya, Ganyu, Jean, Ayaka, Mona, Sara, Yoimiya, Eula, Keqing
"Ah yes,i had a great night"
How tf they are able to hide those blue and red bruises on their neck???you were pretty sure you basically devoured them last night. No way any make up able to hide it, is it the vision????
Anyway, they are professional and wants to keep what happened last night in the bedroom stays in the bedroom, including your marks.
Oh you think they will share how to hide it?
Hmm...naahh..it is more fun to see you struggling with the marks they left on you. You do you~
Yae, Faruzan, Yanfei, Nilou, Kokomi, Layla (with the help of her other personality)

Kaveh, Nilou, Tighnari / gender-neutral reader.
Synopsis: Their reaction to you dying/your death.
Part I ( you’re here! ) / Part II (other POV: Al-Haitham, Dehya, Cyno).
Tumblr media
#KAVEH
You had gotten into a fight with your boyfriend earlier and wanted to apologise to him, unable to ignore your growing guilt. It was midnight, but you knew that Kaveh would still be awake because of his recent project. As you tried to open the front door with the spare key Al-Haitham was kind enough to give you, you soon realised that you weren't able to because another key was lodged in the doorlock on the other side of the door. You then rang the doorbell twice before attempting to unlock the door again.
The sound of the doorbell and the doorknob rattling incessantly woke Kaveh up, who had fallen asleep while waiting for you on the sofa. He groggily sat up whilst rubbing the sleep off his eyes, and when the rattling suddenly stopped, he stared at the front door, puzzled.
"(Y/n)?" he called, planting his feet on the floor. He then rose from the sofa and made his way over, jumping slightly when a sharp rattle abruptly sounded - like somebody had grabbed the doorknob tightly. With wide eyes, he peered through the peephole and saw your back. "Angel, what are you doing outside at this hour?" He then unlocked the door for you and pushed it open - only to discover that he couldn't. Frowning, he fiddled with the doorknob, and just as he moved to look into the peephole again—
There was a loud bang as your body recoiled against the door. Kaveh mirrored your involuntary action as he staggered backwards, jaw slightly slack as he tried to process what the hell just happened.
"You..." he heard you say. Your voice was faint, weak, like you just had the air knocked straight out of your lungs. You then groaned as a few thuds echoed from the other side of the door, which snapped him into action. He peered through the peephole, noticing that you were struggling to stand up, and this caused his insides to churn with worry. Someone else was with you, he noted, but he couldn't discern their identity.
"(Y/n)... (Y/n), are you okay?!" he exclaimed, using his shoulder to try and fail to shove the door open. He twisted the doorknob violently before throwing himself at the door again, pushing against it with all of his weight - to no avail. "What's wrong? Please tell me!"
"Please..." Kaveh pressed his ear against the door to hear your murmurs better. "Spare my boyfriend." Impatient and wanting answers, Kaveh slammed his fists on the door, begging you to let him out.
"(Y/n)-"
Another bang cut his sentence short, and he recoiled in horror, finally realising what was happening. Did you... have something to do with the Fatui the Traveler once told him about...?
Gasping as if out of breath, he rattled the doorknob which refused to budge, screaming your name hysterically. "(Y/n)! Open the door, my angel!" He slammed his palms against the door until they stung, but the pain couldn't compare to fear that was shredding his heart.
"Don't... Don't come out, Kaveh!"
"But why?!" He banged on the door, eyes burning with the desperation clenching around his heart. "Why can't I come out? PLEASE TELL ME WHY!"
He then heard a soft thud and another groan.
Kaveh was finally able to twist the doorknob properly, but he still couldn't push the door open.
"(Y/n), are you okay? Open the door if you are!" he yelled, not caring if he's going to wake Al-Haitham up with all the fuss he's making in the middle of the night. "Please, angel... I want to come to you! Please let me out!" His tears threatened to fall as he could hear your gasps of pain. He didn't know what was happening to you outside, and it was frightening him. He let out a sob, clinging to the door like his life depended on it. "P-please..."
"Kaveh..."
He immediately pressed his ear against the door again. "Yes, angel? What is it?!"
"I'm sorry... I keep breaking my promises to you."
Kaveh sobbed loudly. "No! No, it's okay!" He slammed his forehead against the door, tears cascading from his eyes in thick streams. "IT'S OKAY! Please, open the door!"
When he couldn't hear a response from you, he wailed.
"N-no, angel... Open the door! I forgive you! SO PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR!" he shouted desperately, yanking on the doorknob, "OPEN THE DOOR! None of this is your fault-"
"Kaveh..."
He faltered.
"To me, you were..."
Silence.
Kaveh stared at the door. He listened carefully, but all he could hear was silence.
Your silence.
It's the type of silence that he fears the most.
With shuddered breathing, he said, "Hold on, (y/n). I'm coming outside..." He grunted, shoving the door open by a few inches and seeing your hand on the ground. His pupils dilated. "N-no, please...!" Choked sobs were ripped out of his throat when he was finally able to open the door, revealing your lifeless body in front of him. Dropping onto his knees, Kaveh grabbed your shoulders, rolling you onto his lap as his arms shook with the grief that threatened to tear him apart inside.
He cried hysterically as he tried to shake you awake, not caring that the blood from your wounds was ruining his clothes. He then spotted you crimping your bloody Vision in your fist, and he grabbed the empty husk, screaming when he saw that it had lost its colour. He threw it into the dark streets ahead without a second thought before cupping your cheek, hoping that his loving touch would bring the life back to your blank eyes.
"No..."
Squeezing his eyes shut, Kaveh hugged your head tightly, rocking you back and forth in his arms with broken sobs.
"(Y/n), wake up! Please wake up!" he yelled, burying his face in your hair, "Angel, please. Please... Angel, please!"
Al-Haitham, having been awakened by Kaveh's crying, quietly appeared behind him, his eyes widening at the shocking sight in front of his house.
"Al-Haitham, help them! Please help my little angel!"
Al-Haitham sighed after a few seconds of silence. "... Kaveh. Let them go."
The Scribe did want to help you.
But he also knew that nothing could help you as you had long ceased to breathe.
#NILOU
Nilou lost all the strength in her legs when Lumine returned to Sumeru City with you in her arms. She would have jumped for joy at Lumine finding you if you weren't lying limp in her arms, your blood imprinting messy patterns her white dress. Dehya quickly grabbed Nilou's arm when the dancer collapsed on her knees with a heart-wrenching sob.
"N-no... NO!" Nilou cried, tears brimming in her eyes. She couldn't control her emotions and wailed, tugging her arm out of Dehya's gentle grip before crawling over to Lumine. The Traveler then lowered herself on her knees to carefully lay your body on the ground, and Nilou immediately cupped your face with a trembling hand, her bottom lip quivering and eyes glossing over with unshed tears. She lightly caressed your cold cheek whilst whispering your name, as if she was casting a spell that would wake you up and reveal your eyes that she had grown to love so much.
"Ya 'amar..." She pressed her ear against your chest in hopes of hearing that reassuring heartbeat and choked back a sob when your body's silence crushed that remaining hope.
"Lumine... Why is it so quiet?" Nilou murmured, her tears running down her cheeks in endless streams. Lumine didn't utter a single word as she watched the dancer bury her face in your chest, her fingers digging into the fabric of the shirt she had lovingly sewed for you the other day. "I-it's so quiet... I can't hear their heartbeat at all!"
Since that day, silence rang in the place of your laughter.
#TIGHNARI
Tighnari found it difficult to keep his eyes open as he slowly crawled past the fire that had engulfed a large portion of the forest, puffs of grey clouds rising from the flames surrounding him. The heat embraced him like an old friend, and the smoke made his eyes water as he also struggled to breathe. After a moment, his body finally gave out, the stab wound on his left shoulder being too much for him; however, before he went unconscious, he was able to pick up on a familiar scent...
"Nari! Oh Archons-"
Ears twitching, he tried to raise his head but was too weak. Soon, your arms enveloped him in a warm embrace, and he instinctively leaned against you. Your warmth wasn't unbearable like the blistering heat around him; it was comforting, soothing, and assured him that everything will be alright since you're here.
"(Y/n)..." Tighnari murmured before his consciousness completely slipped away.
He later awoke to find his upper body being supported in your arms as he was laid across your lap. He could hear your exhausted pants, and upon focusing on your face, he discerned the pearly tears that had gathered in your eyes. Frowning, he reached up to gently cup your cheek, prompting you to lower your surprised gaze to him.
"Nari... You finally woke up," you said, sighing in relief before your expression turned grim, "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I wouldn't have returned to Sumeru if I knew that my commander would send the Fatui after me."
Tighnari's eyes widened. "You're-?"
"I'm sorry I lied to you." You then gave him a sad smile, forged from the remorse you felt of having deceived your lover. "But please believe me when I say that I never meant for this to happen... or for you to be hurt."
He didn't know how to react to this sudden revelation. He was tricked and you led him on, yet—
He couldn't find it in himself to hate you.
Whether or not your love for him was sincere, Tighnari knew that his for you is and will always be.
"Tighnari... Let me push you out with my last bit of strength. We both can't die here," you said, noticing that the fire was inching closer. Before you can hook an arm under his knees, he quickly stopped you by gripping your upper arm, his fingers digging deeply into your flesh to express how opposed he was to the idea.
"Don't say that!" Tighnari exclaimed. Tears brimmed in his eyes but he immediately blinked them away. "If you die, then how will I be able to continue living with the burden? What about Collei? Think about her! She cares about you as much as I do!"
"... You'll both be fine without me." You laid a calloused palm against his cheek, and he immediately held onto it as if you would disappear in a blink of an eye if he didn't. "Just pretend that I never existed, and everything will be okay. When you get out, please live the rest of your life well. Take good care of Collei. Don't let anyone make her suffer more than she already has."
Tighnari could only shake his head vigorously as he kept your hand in a tight grasp. "No... No! (Y/n)-"
"Don't choose anybody else in your next life," you murmured with a smile of melancholy, "Wait for me." You pressed your lips against his in a brief kiss, causing his breath to hitch in his throat. Before he could say or do anything, you easily lifted him into your arms and ran towards the edge of the cliff. You then leaped forward, across the gorge. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion as you moved through the air with Tighnari in your arms.
As you had predicted, you weren't able to reach the other side. Your foot slipped off the edge of the other cliff, but you were expecting this.
Looking at Tighnari, you softly told him, "I'll wait for you in my next life."
Tighnari's pupils dilated as his eyes turned glossy with unshed tears. Flashing him one last smile, you used your remaining strength to throw him up.
The last thing he saw before his body landed on the cliff edge was his lover plummeting into the rushing river below.
Hurriedly peering over the edge, he hoped to see you...
But you were gone.
Of all things, it was Mother Nature who claimed your life in the end.
Tighnari felt something inside him break as he wept, fingers curling into the dirt beneath him.

all of the girls you loved before
Tumblr media
𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 ;; breakups weren’t always bitter, especially when she was still your friend. or, in which you catch-up on old memories with your ex girlfriend.
feat. navia, nilou, miko
notes. gn reader, short little drabbles of characters pulled from this poll !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NAVIA.
“We had our first date here, didn’t we?”
Yes. And it was a Tuesday. Navia hated Tuesdays. Today was another Tuesday, and what should’ve been normal probably was a sour reminiscence in her mind. First date was always innocent—a Fontainian coffee shop the one time both of your schedules allowed it.
“We did,” she shortly replied. There was a pout in her voice, one that she hoped sounded as spoiled and passive as she hoped it would. But not one of her muscles could control the quiver in her lip as she spared you a glance, noticing how there was no longer a light in your eyes at this place anymore.
Did you stop fantasizing about this place? Did this cafe no longer make your heart dazzle at the thought of your first date? Was she really the only one who remembered it so clearly?
Your first date was on a Tuesday. Your next one was on a Saturday. Your first kiss together was on a Monday. She hated herself for remembering all of this, especially now that you’re no longer an item. And, she hated you more for not remembering any of this. But as she watched you bite into a pastry, the same way as you did all those years ago on your first date, she hated being your friend.
Those eyes of hers, ones she can never control: if you spared her a look for just a second, you could see the yearning in them. The love and loyalty that still came with her heart.
But on this dreaded weekday, the most she could long for now was an outing between two best friends.
Navia hated Tuesdays.
Tumblr media
NILOU.
“Remember when we used to swing here in the early mornings?”
She found a smile making its way to her lips when your words reached her ears. “Yes,” of course she remembered. Those days when the sun barely knelt engaged to the sky, and the dew of the swing would wet the edges of her dress. A time when you’d still look at her with blooming dawn in your eyes and when whispered affections scattered upon the light air.
The sky was pitch dark now; which, sure, is totally blamed on the hour of the night. But it felt weird to sit here next to you when the sun was long gone. She’s only ever been here in the daylight, when your gaze would still shine like the dancer herself was sweet honey to your tea, or when your love was still sparkling in the dewy grass.
“Nilou? Nilou?”
She snapped out of her thoughts to see you looking at her from the adjacent swing. Your brows were furrowed in concern, but due to the light—or lack thereof—she saw only blankness. This was not concern out of love or passion, now replaced with a simple friendliness she came to hate.
“Sorry,” she sheepishly said. “I just miss those mornings.”
“We can have them again,” you proposed. “We can have picnics here and sit and swing like we used to.”
Don’t play with my heart like that. It was plain fully obvious you meant it as a friend—to only spend mornings here as friends, but never lovers, not anymore. She misses you, she thinks. You and your world that she was no longer a part of.
Tumblr media
YAE MIKO.
“We met in the summer, didn’t we?”
She only hummed in affirmation. Summertime stung like a stick on her skin. And yet, that feeling when Inazuma gets humid and the sun shines eternal, she associates it all with you. She met you in the summer, and fell in love with you that same season.
She laughed. “We did, we did!” She teased you a bit, ignorant to the redness staining her own cheeks. “Why, are we going to be celebrating our anniversary together?” There was a taunting smile on her face, one that was nudging you on. But when all you did was playfully scoff and brush her off, she could not stop the sinking feeling in her chest. Curse the art of romance.
She didn’t like the way you just casually brushed her shoulder like that. So passively, like any friend would do. But it was worse when the missed the feeling of your fingers around her arm, holding tightly with past love and affections that were no longer there. No, she was just a friend now. No need for any strings or attached feelings.
You split ways on the winter solstice. How dreadful that was.
“Perhaps we should celebrate the anniversary of our breakup, instead,” you joked. You genuinely laughed. She genuinely hated it. Winter was cold. And when the cold came, there were only dark days as all her love ended in ‘goodbye’. Then when winter ended, springtime left her a broken vase pouring out her love from the cracks of her heart.
And if she could go back in time to love you again, she would.

Love Blooms within the Desert
Aka eremite reader x nilou
Contains: stalking? (Might not be classified as that because its not really creepy or malicious maybe?) pining, fluff. Gender neutral reader
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4 the end
A/n Inspiration struck me randomly so i must go with it
The desert is boring. Inbetween your trips and escorts are you often spending alot of time just in the sand doing nothing. Dancing is a common practice amongst tribes to pass the time and lighten the mood. Although you have never had the race and balance for it. You liked watching people dance instead. You had escorted a few merchants across the desert and thus were making your way back to the main central hub for eremites where you would escort another person. Unfortunately your tribe was content with sleeping off the exhaustion instead of any fun card games or dances. You never had the gut to ask, worried your tough exterior might crack. So you headed to the nearest oasis, the intention was just to bathe a little.
The night was beautiful, the stars were on full view with not a cloud in sight. Its as if there was just a blue filter over the desert with how well lit it was. So you quickly saw the figure of the dancing lady in the oasis. You stopped. If it was a fellow eremite you might be in trouble. Territorial disputes, or just adrenaline junkies were common. You weren’t good at negotiations. Come to think of it, you really weren’t good at much aside from strength related activities, and cooking. Hunting in the desert was a pain, scorpion meat wasn’t tasty so spices and marinades was your way of keeping sane and disguising any sneaky sand particles.
But her dance wasn’t similar to most you had seen. Nor were there others eremites around. It wasn’t impossible. Unfortunately sometimes eremites would be the last ones standing in their tribe, you had met a young girl named Jeht who was attracted by your cooking. You shared with her because you were full anyways, your tribe didn’t like that particular experimental marinade you came up with. So she ate her fill, telling you about her father and mothers passing. How she was looking for Babel, you wished her well and pointed to where you thought she was.
Looking at her closer now however you don’t think she’s a eremite. Actually she kind of looked like a goddess of sorts. Long flowy fabrics, her headdress, her movements were so graceful and serene. She danced to the melody of the night, of the nearby birds that chirped and the loud bugs. Her red hair flowed beautifully as she danced in a shallow part of the oasis, letting the water cool her feet. You knew it was wrong to just… watch someone but.. you couldn’t help it. You sat behind one of the bended palm trees and watched closely.
She was humming. A tune you didn’t know. But it was beautiful to watch. Her face was focused, she seemed.. stressed actually. Sweat dripped down her forehead. Before her eyes suddenly landed on you. A shock was evident as you quickly stood up and backed away.
“S-sorry.. just wanted some.. water..” you said, leaving your claymore in the ground as you cautiously approached the water from the other end. Purposely putting distance between you two in hopes she wouldn’t run off.
“O-oh that’s quite fine. Ah i didn’t mean to pollute the water with my uh… feet.. i just was walking for so long on the hot sand that i uh…”
“Don’t worry I’m not drinking it.” You said a little weirded out by that thought, water is water, so long as its safe you would drink it. But she probably had a different opinion of cleanliness.
“Oh okay..” silence fell between you as you took the opportunity to wash your hair. Cupping the water and drenching your face and hair in it. Temporarily did you remove your mask. Making her cover her mouth for a reason you weren’t sure about. “I.. i didn’t expect you to have such striking eyes. Sorry that must sound weird.”
“It doesn’t really. I’ve gotten weirder comments from people.” You say. You shake off the rest of the water. You would have a proper shower back at the main city, but for now you had to do with this. “So, what is your profession?”
“H-hm? Oh right. I’m Nilou, a dancer for the Zubayr Theatre. We put on lots of performances. My most recent performance was supposed to be about a desert girl so I figured it might help to actually go to the desert. I came later but it was still so hot.” She giggled awkwardly. You sat down, the water soaking your shoes.
“That sounds lovely. Eremites do have their own dances but it really isn’t as intricate as yours. But i think it helps to actually see the desert.” You paused trying to come up with a conversation topic to continue.”You know, not many people in Sumeru actually ever come here. they’re too intimidated by the gangs and hot sand and scorpions. I can’t blame them too much but they’re really missing out.”
“really?” She seemed intrigued.
“Well.. i think that’s just kind of like life you know, you gotta fight bad guys, conquer the environment and you get rewarded with sights like this, the cloudless night with endless stars, the oasis’s. Not to mention the foxes.” She smiled at that.
“Oh yes the foxes! They’re so cute but so skiddish. I wish I could pet one.” She sighed.
“Sometimes they actually come near me. Well only this specific family near Aaru village. I fed them a few times and so they’re more comfortable around me. Truth be told they aren’t optimal for meat or food so i hardly ever do try to hurt them.” She seemed a little startled by that concept, likely envisioning a cruel fate for such cute critters at your hands. You felt a embarrassed by that thought. “Not that i ever have eaten one. Scorpions are better food. They hardly ever hide and they provide alot of meat. They have a texture i’d compare to liek… lobster maybe?”
“Oh. I didn’t know they were edible.” She seemed less weirded out. ‘Wait why are you so eager to impress this lady anyway?’ “Although that does sound a little bit tasty.. i guess I should try it sometime.”
“Oh its great with a rosemary, boar fat, and sweet flower marinade with hara hara spice and minimal salt, oh you can pepper too.”
“Wow, is that recipe popular with eremites?” She asked curiously. You shook your head. Again embarrassed, most eremites looked at your weirdly when you showed that much interest in culinary passions. Although they didn’t complain or argue when you had something to show for it and for them to sample. You still felt embarrassed for culinary preferences to your potential weak spot. Getting spices and other flavors isn’t easy out here.
“Just me and my tribe. Mainly because of me.” You said. “I just can’t stand the same old things for too long. I find the process of concocting and working my surroundings to be quite relaxing. I don’t really know how to make much else that isn’t meaty.i hardly ever get vegetables.” You trailed on. She however seemed more comfortable, even sitting across from you.
“They must like you alot. In my troupe our chef is the most important one. You can’t work well on a empty stomach afterall.” She smiled.
“They tolerate it.” You paused as you decided not to divulge your tensions and issues with your tribe to a stranger. “Say, whats your favorite kind of dishes.” You asked curiously. She seemed to light up.
“Oh I simply love padisarah pudding, there’s also Tachin and sheermal!” You were however lost. You never had any puddings, tachin you had, but you were curious about these delicacies. A curiosity was peaked that you couldn’t satiate. Something pulling you now from your homelife right into her world. Into the forests, the city..
“I’ve never had padisarah pudding. Is it a dessert?” You asked. She nodded.
“Oh you should its lovely, if you ever come to sumeru city I’d love to treat you to some.” She smiled. Your embarrassment was different now, less of shame and now of.. confusion and surprise. You hadn’t had someone like her treat you so nicely, offering you what must be a bit pricey of a promise. She was only a dancer after all, her wages can’t be that good. But that offer sparked something in your stone heart. A crush? Love? Attraction? You bottles it away to deal with later.
“Maybe I will. My tribe and I are heading back in the morning actually. Are you going to the Caravan Ribat tomorrow?” You asked.
“Ah i am. But its okay I can go by myself. I don’t want to burden your tribe out of nowhere.”
“I insist. Its not too safe and… well.. i don’t mean to be mean or rude but your outfit might lure.. robbers and such. I’d be happy to accompany you alone if you would feel safer like that.” You said. ‘Whats wrong with you? Why are you insistent on making sure she’s safe now?’
“Well if you insist. I guess I should’ve thought about a plan to go back.. actually… if you don’t mind… could I sleep near your camp or.. in it maybe? I’m worried about sandstorms coming now.” She seemed rather embarrassed.
“I’ll bring my tent over don’t worry.” You said. “I’ll be right back.” You said, leaving your claymore.
‘Gosh what has gotten into you! Usually you would charge for such but you’re offering a escort for completely free just because she indulged your culinary curiosity and was nice! Are you truly so depraved of affection that you would throw yourself at the feet of those stuck up Akademiya nuts? But she’s not in the Akademiya, she’s a dancer, you hear they hate the arts. If anything she’s more familiar with the adversity you face than you would think. Whatever. You’ll just walk to the Ribat and maybe spend the day with her for a change. You can get a break surely. At least to try that pudding and maybe even see her performance…’
You knew deep down that something else was blooming inside. Your heart nurtured a seed of interest that turned into something more romantic as you thought about Nilou more and more. Ignoring the looks of your fellow tribe members who just shrugged and went back to bed as you hauled the whole tent yourself. You knew however that chances of a successful relationship with a non eremite wouldn’t be in your favor. For your home is the sand and hers is the flowers. But.. it couldn’t hurt to indulge your curiosity. She probably doesn’t even reciprocate anyways.
Nilou meanwhile tried her damnest to fix her headdress and her hair. Hoping she wouldn’t look like a slob or improper lady infront of that attractive eremite.

— “Maybe… we should get out of the rain.” —
Tumblr media

Warnings: not proofread
Characters: ayato, thoma, nilou, and tighnari
Pronouns for reader: gender neutral/ not mentioned
A/n: kissing in the rain is actually probably not as beautiful as it sounds BUT IDC I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE OUT MY FANTASY OF KISSING IN THE RAIN CAUSE OMFG. Anyways enjoy!! Take care of yourself!!
Tumblr media
— Ayato —
“Oh my- thoma! Grab some towels, and start a warm bath!” Ayato said as he saw you arriving to the kamisato estate, absolutely drenched. You didnt expect it to rain. You should have though, I mean the dark heavy clouds… kind of a dead give away. “I thought I told you to bring an umbrella..” ayato said as he rushed down to you, and wrapped his coat around your cold, shaky body. You sighed, “you did… and I was dumb.”
You felt guilty, you felt so guilty, and like you were inconveniencing everyone just cause you didn’t bring a stupid umbrella. You were spiraling, and ayato could tell just by the look on your face, “dear…” he said, as he leaned down, and kissed you softly, only to pull away and gave you a reassuring look, “lets get you inside now, shall we?” You hate him sometimes. How he can sooth you with some words, a look, a kiss. How he can make you feel all warm inside, to the point you barely even needed a bath to sooth you.
You tugged on his sleeve to get him to turn around, before pulling him down to kiss you properly. He was surprised, but slowly melted into it as the rain washed over you two. “You guys!! You’re gonna get sick!” Thoma screamed as he rushed out of the doorway, getting a few drops on his shirt. Ayato bow realized just how long you’ve been out in the rain, and rushed you inside, he cant have you getting sick in his care now can he?
— Thoma—
“Aww no…” thoma whined as you both stepped outside of the restaurant. It was bright and sunny when you walked it!! But now its raining cats and dogs, with no end in sight. “Should we… make a run for it.” You asked, grabbing into thoma’s hand. “I mean… I guess.” He squeezed your hand before taking off running, with you right behind him.
You laughed, as thoma just kept running, clearly not enjoying the rain as you are. Something caught your eye though, a little hidden part of the city, with beautiful trees, a calm river, almost like a little private garden. You pulled back on thoma’s arm, and stopped. “[name]! We need to get out of the rain!” Thoma said, questioning your sudden stop.
“Yeah but look!” You said pointing at the beautiful scene. A bridge in the garden, that goes over the calm- mini river. “Its just a bridge?” Thoma tilted his head, you just rolled your eyes and dragged him over to it. You stood in the center, with your arms over his shoulders, “yeah but its peaceful, with the rain and all.” You said, and thoma kinda understood. “Mm… yeah I suppose, I just dont like being out in the rain…” you hummed in response, thinking for a moment, until getting an idea. You leaned up to kiss him for a moment. “I love the rain!” You exclaimed when you pulled away. Maybe… thoma could stay in the rain for a while longer
— Nilou —
“Come on [name]!” Nilou said dragging you out of the cafe you were previously in. She looked like she had stars in her eyes, as the rain poured down outside, it drenched her hair, and clothes, but she was absolutely enamored by it all. But suddenly her attention turned to you, taking your hands in her own, she danced around with you. Your feet chaotically moved around with her own carefully calculated movements, as you both danced and giggled.
You looked crazy dancing in the street, with no one there, but it was so mesmerizing nonetheless. “Wait wait! I learned how to do this recently.” Nilou said, stopping the moment, and turning your hands up so your palms were facing the falling rain. And as a puddle accumulated in your hands, she tapped the surface, inky for the water to turn into a beautiful lotus.
“I’ve been experimenting more with my vision…” she said bashfully, you smiled widely at her, setting the water lotus down, to place yiur hands on either side of her face, and kiss her. “I love it! You’re so talented!” You exclaimed as you pulled back slightly, resting your forehead on hers. Her hands rested on yours, as she stuttered, and almost fizzled out like a flame, with how flustered she was.
— Tighnari —
“We should be fine here for a while.” Tighnari said, looking up from your makeshift tent you had. Which consisted of, a massive leaf above the both of your heads. You huddled close, tighnari’s tail wrapping around the back of you protectively. The thunder made his ears hurt, so they were tilted down, while he was still on high alert as you were in the forest, away from any people.
You always check on him after a particularly loud boom of thunder, and while he mag say he’s fine, you can tell he’s slowly becoming more and more overstimulated. “Hey nari..” you say, as you cup his face. “If you wanna be the first to sleep thats okay, I’ll Jeep watch. He just hums, and furrows his brows, he knows he cant protest, not with you. You laugh at his expression, before softly kissing him goodnight.

The Moment They Fell For You (2)
Note: I actually planned on writing all the Sumeru characters in one post but I thought it was getting a bit long. So I decided to split them instead. Also I think people do not write enough fanfic for the female characters. I did not proof read this at all. Sorry if it's not up to standard. Enjoy.
CW: None
HC: Reader is gender neutral and does not have a vision.
Characters: Cyno, Nilou
Cyno
You had known the General Mahamatra ever since you both studied in the Akademiya together. You watched him surpass you and your colleagues, rising to the ranks to where he is now. You watched in awe and also ashamed of yourself for not being able to keep up to his level. However times had passed and now you too were a scholar teaching amongst the rest in Akademiya.
While most tended to to go down the path of finding new information or discoveries for the next hit paper, you kept to yourself keeping logs of all the current surplus of information scattered through the Akademiya walls and passing those knowledge to the budding scholars of the future.
You and Cyno were not close friends however you both friendly enough for a wave or a quick hello back to each other since you were one of the few scholars that didn't seem to fear his gaze. Otherwise you barely saw him, knowing that he was someone who tended to do his job hidden or by himself. Due to the difference in your jobs you didn't expect to cross one another anytime soon, but when news came that one of your students may have been working to acquire illegal knowledge capsules you and him somehow ended up together in the mission to catch them in the act.
"I can't believe this is happening." You groaned to yourself, face in your hands while you crouched against the wall. This was the worst thing to ever happen in your entire history as a teacher. You couldn't believe that one of your students were going this far just to pass the exam. Were you too strict? Did you fail to teach them properly? It was too late either way. You looked up from your hands to stare at Cyno who stared down at your crouched form. His face emotional less and his glare sharp.
If it were anyone else they would be whimpering under his gaze, but you could tell he didn't seem to harbor any negative feelings. Well at least not to you. "If the rumors are true they will be held accountable. You don't need to worry about that. " You shook your head, standing up and facing him head on.
"It's not that." Cyno arched an eyebrow. "It's an issue with me. If I did my job as a teacher properly they wouldn't have needed to take such drastic measures. If this is true I at least want to hear their side. I want to make sure this never happens again." You answered, trying to keep a brave front. Cyno stared at you blankly before turning away to walk out from the building. "Do whatever you want. It depends on what we find anyway."
You watched him walk out of the door. All you could do was sigh, following after him. How embarrassing was it that this was the first time you both had talked to each other properly. "If this is how fast you plan on going the entire mission we aren't going to finish anytime soon." You jumped in shock, realizing that he had not left you to catch up but was waiting for you outside the door. "My apologies." You mumbled, even more embarrassed than before. This was not going to be a fun.
---
The plan was simple . Since you kept a low profile compared to most scholars, it would be easy for you to infiltrate the merchant camp with the rest of the knowledge capsule hunters. After sneaking in, using the codes that were given to you by an unknown source, Cyno mentioned he had his ways but he did not look pleased about it, you would try to find your student amongst the crowd. After they had been spotted all you needed to do was take a picture using the kamera.
After the evidence had been acquired, all you needed to do was send the signal to Cyno and rush out of the place as fast as you can so that Cyno could shut the whole place down for good. You could feel yourself getting nervous the closer you stepped near the camp. You still had hope that maybe your student was just being framed or it had been someone else.
However seeing the familiar face amongst the rest of the buyers only filled you with dread. You reached your hand to grab the kamera, slowly inching close to be able to take a clear picture of them in the act. Just as you were about to pick the kamera out for a quick picture, you halted hearing the distress in your student's voice.
"We can't be here father. There are already rumors about me. My grades are not even that bad, I can pass the bar exam without the knowledge capsule." You heard them say only to be hushed harshly. You could feel your eyebrow twitch in rage. You watched as your student looked around worriedly, trying to drag their father away from the rest of the crowd.
You felt the tension in your body release, your student wasn't the one who wanted to get access to the knowledge capsules. Their father just was a cunt. You wanted to go there and drag them away from him, telling them that it will all be ok. You looked down at the kamera and then to the signal in your hand.
Without a second thought, you clicked to the button to release the signal. You winced hearing the loud sound it made, Cyno was not lying when he said he would hear it from miles away. The merchants and buyers looked around dazed by the sudden sound. You immediately began to make a run for it but instead of the door you ran straight towards your student.
Pushing their father to a side after he had loosened his grip, you grabbed your student by the wrist and began to make a run for it. You could hear your student shout your name in shock but you continued to make a run for it, hearing the now panicked and distressed calls of the people back in the illegal trade "THE GENERAL MAHATRAMA! HE'S HERE!". You could feel a smile form on your lips, Cyno was definitely having a field day.
---
You could feel Cyno's irritation when he realised what you had actually done. However you were lucky enough that he was willing to hear you and your student out. You were glad they rumors were not actually true and it wasn't them who wanted to acquire illegal knowledge and you were happy to know Cyno was willing to actually believe you.
"Thank you." You said, you could feel your face heat up and at this point you couldn't tell whether it was from the joy of helping your student or whether you were just feeling shy. You could see Cyno's eye twitch a bit however his face remained stoic. "I was just doing my job. The trade was successfully shut down because of this anyway. We shouldn't be hearing about any illegal knowledge capsules anytime soon." You shook your head.
"I meant for letting my student go." You smiled at him and he huffed. You wondered if you were imagining it but you could feel him seem shyer than before. " That was barely anything."
"Still let me pay you back in a way." Cyno raised an eyebrow at you. "What do you suggest?"
"Maybe dinner? Or perhaps a game? I heard you loved playing a certain card game." You teasingly mention, pulling out a new pack of cards that you had made sure to bring with you just for this. You could see a glint of light form in his eyes.
"I can't turn down a challenge." He answered. Cyno didn't know what to make of you when he first met you, all he remembered was how you would gingerly wave at him whenever he would catch you staring while he instinctively waved back. He watched you grow fond of your students and show your interests to teach. You might not think he cared too much about you but he was always paying attention.
You guys were not close but you were always in the back of his mind. Maybe that was why he decided to hear you out when you decided to pull something risky like that during the mission. Either way, Cyno always had a form of affection for you and it seems your invitation to play Genius Invokation TCG has finally confirmed that maybe it might be just more than acquaintances. Cyno just hoped his stoic nature would keep it under wraps, at least for now.
Nilou
"Do you know how to dance?"
It was the first thing that Nilou had said to you when she saw you trying to dance on the outskirts of Sumera city. You decided to stroll into the Grand Bazaar one day. You just went inside to peak. The Akademiyan scribes would have been completely against you from entering but you were so curious. They always had something bad to say about the place and you just had to find out why hated the place so much.
You stumbled inside during an event that day. The lights illuminated the stage and the star of the show swayed to the rhythm of the music. You stared in awe when you saw how delicately she danced. She looked as if she was floating. All eyes were on her, including yours. She didn't even stumble at any moment and you couldn't even see a bead of sweat dripping down her face. 'Must be an angel' You thought.
You didn't expect to stay for the whole event but you lost track of time. Watching show after show, the theatre had so much to offer! Why would the Akademiya be so against it? The shows were exciting and full of life, most of them even showed a valuable lessons which were easy to understand by the general public.
Either way you got hooked on going to see what they had in store, especially the dances. The moves felt so calculated and precise. You could feel your Akademiya brain trying to figure out how they did it, which was what lead you to your first encounter with Nilou.
You were trying to copy what you had written down during one of the events. You wrote down her exact foot placements, the way her hips swayed to the beat and even the different speeds changes during all movements. However nothing was going right! You kept stumbling over you feet and you could not meet the beats.
You were surprised on how scarred you got during the process, who knew you would stumble so much just to learn how to dance? You huffed, wiping the dirt and grime off your outfit and pulling out the notebook from your pocket. You could not figure out what you were doing wrong? You repeated the steps in your head, jotting down what you had possibly missed causing your failed attempt. You sighed frustratedly, putting the notebook back into your pocket.
You made your way towards the river and began to pose. Nilou started her routine dance in a specific way and you wanted to find a way to replicate it. You looked at your reflection, you were too stiff and it looked awkward. You kept trying find a good angle and that was when Nilou had popped out, asking you the question.
You yelped, almost falling into the river, however you were saved as gentle arms grabbed you by the waist. You looked at her as she steadied you before letting you go. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scar you!" She said, arms up and face apologetic. You could feel your face warm up.
"How long have you been watching?" Nilou chucked a bit. "A while now. " You could feel your face become warmer. Nilou looked at you worriedly. "Oh! I wasn't watching you on purpose or anything! I was actually collecting some wood for the theatre props! I'm so sorry for invading your privacy!" She said, pointing towards the bundle of wood collected near by some trees.
You shook your head, trying to calm yourself down. The angel in your favorite new pastime had saw you dancing like a mess, however you still had some Akademiya scholar pride, you couldn't show her that this situation bothered you. You coughed into your hand, trying to hide the rest of the blush which was slowly going away. "It's alright. It's not like this is a private area anyway. I'll be on my way."
You turn to go pick up your stuff only for your arm to be captured by Nilou's firm grasp. "Oh please wait! I saw you dancing and you seemed you needed some guidance. I could help you practice if you like!" You turned to look at her as she smiled at you. Her eyes were such a gentle blue and full of life. You couldn't say no to that.
"That would be quite helpful actually." You mumbled quietly, still trying to keep whatever pride you had left in you. You wanted to know how to dance, you wanted to feel like you were floating as well. Nilou let out a laugh, it was sweet and you could feel yourself get butterflies in your stomach just from hearing it. "Let's get started then shall we?"
That was the start of your dance practice journey with Nilou. If Nilou wasn't in the theatre she was near the outskirts of Sumeru City with you. She taught you from the very beginning. It started from stretching. You were stiff as a board, which was how Nilou described you when you couldn't even bend to touch your toes. You tried to tough it out and you were surprised to see how fast results showed.
You looked at Nilou excitedly after you were successfully able to do her entire exercise routine without asking for a break. She giggled at your joy, she never had such a student who wanted to learn this much.
Then she showed you how to match the rhythm. It was simple, she held your hand and guided you.
First Step, Second Step, First Step, Second Step.
You held onto her hands tightly, watching both of your feet's intensely. You were worried that you would step on her toes at any moment. However during this moment all Nilou could do was stare at your face, eyebrows furrowed making sure not to miss a step. She couldn't but think how cute you looked so serious for something so simple.
Finally after learning the basics, she showed you how to do a simple routine, all the dance steps separately. You showed her your notebook full of all the records you kept of her shows. She looked at it enthusiastically. "You wrote this all down?" You gave her a nod, proud of your academic ability to be able to take notes down so well.
She stared at the notes which were accompanied by the drawings. You had written down almost her entire show routine. She could feel a blush creep up her face. You had looked at her so intensely, making sure to not even miss a single hand movement or foot placement. She could feel your eyes burn in the back of her head now and she wondered if she could continue doing the shows like she always did if it meant you looked at her in such a way.
"You didn't need to write all this you know?" "Why not? The way you move is so beautiful, I couldn't help myself. " The words flew out of your mouth so smoothly you didn't even realise how shy Nilou had gotten. Her face was entirely red at this point and she could feel her legs almost giving out. She huffed, placing the book to the side.
"Well you won't need that book when I am training you directly." She grasped your face, making you look at her directly in the eyes. " All you need to do is look at me." This time you could feel your face heat up.
---
The training took months. It became a daily occurrence of you sneaking out from the Akademiya to go to the Grand Baazar. Almost everyone knew your name and after Nilou was done with work you both would leave to go dance alongside both of your new secret dancing spot.
Nilou sat down on a rock, patiently waiting for you to began dancing. You were no longer the scholar covered in dirt and grime due to stumbling over your own feet nor did you look stiff when you tried to match the rhythm. You were confident and you wanted to show Nilou the progress that you both had achieved.
When you started to dance Nilou could feel her chest ache. You were so enchanting. She wondered if this was how you felt the first time you sneaked inside to watch her dance. She couldn't take her eyes away from you. 'Ah, an angel.' She thought as you smiled at her during your routine.
She didn't know how to express the emotions she felt inside her but she knew was she wanted to keep dancing with you in secret. Your dancing was for her and her viewing only.

THE GAME OF LIFE
Tumblr media
art by MiotaOwO on YouTube and Nahida/rukkhadevata/Kusanali is owned by HV/Genshin/Mhiyo
—————————
Based off Nova’s writing/fanfic and Nahida-writes’s writing/fanfic but different
( Nova is @noverenia and Nahida-writes is @nahida-writes, they both inspired this x reader hc)
Tw:demon, genshin sumeru character because what the fuck,Dottore/Zandik,academia being shitty, few sumeru spoliers, being mean, being fucked up,tsunderes??,semi spoliers but people already knew about Nahida/kusanali and Rukkhadevata
Cw: Nahida/rukkhadevata/Kusanali,Buer,Dori, Dottore/Zandik,Nilou,Candace(Kandake),Layla,Faruzan,Dehya,Wanderer/Scaramouche/Kuni(??)Cyno,Tighnari,Collie,Al-haitham
Nahida/Kusanali/rukkhadevata,Dori and are seen as platonic
Nahida/Kusanali , rukkhadevata , and Buer are all technically different
because Nahida/Kusanali is child version of rukkhadevata, rukkhadevata is adult version of Nahida and Buer is the demon version of them.
Dottore , Zandik are technically different
Because of the difference in time period because Zandik was his name in the academia.

That Cynari poly idea with a reader who is great in acting is just so good, and I could totally see the reader growing even more famous in the art world because of their performances and their skill with the crafts!
Imagine them finally following Nilou’s advice and deciding it’s time for a new relationship, or even some time alone to really be who they want to be. Imagine them going to help Yun Jin in Liyue for one if her performances, and in the way, they start getting close to a person from there! (It could be Zhongli because of his like for opera and performances, or even Ningguang!)
It would be even more funny to see reader getting in a relationship with Nilou lmao, after all, she was the one who truly was for them every time, and she also is the one who understood their passion for the arts :)
We just love to see reader grow after going through some angst 💕
Okay so this is gonna start with yet another argument with Tighnari and Cyno (smh you two all you do is pick on poor reader!). Gender neutral reader. It's a happy ending if you like Kazuha, but a sad one if you like Tighnari in particular.
--
"Every time you ask us that question, we always say no." Tighnari huffs in response to you asking if Cyno and Tighnari wanted to come along to watch a performance. "You're so persistent, even after we make it clear that we aren't interested."
"I just thought it'd be nice for you guys to watch a performance." You pout, crossing your arms.
"Well, it wouldn't be. You know I can't deal with loud sounds, and both of our work is too timely to have the spare time to come along." Tighnari fires back. You feel the imminent shouting session Tighnari was about to start, and out of instinct you run.
"Oh and there you go, running off an inevitably going to crawl back and give a pathetic apology for not listening, only to do this again!" Tighnari rambles off, Cyno silently standing with him and watching you run off.
"_, wait!" You hear Nilou calling out. You stop, Nilou taking a breather before she begins to speak again. "I'm sorry, I should have asked you if they were okay with watching the arts before encouraging you to ask them again." She admits, before she thinks to herself. "...Hold on, do they support you at all with your dancing?"
"Not really, but I don't really tell them about it unless it's asking them if they want to watch a performance." You admit. "I know they're really busy, and maybe they're right. Maybe I should just give up on my dreams, and start to look for a real job."
"No, please don't do that." Nilou stops you. "You are a phenomenal dancer, not to mention your propwork is immaculate. If your boyfriends do not accept your passion, then forget them!" She huffs.
"But I love them! I can't just move on like that." You protest.
"They don't accept that you have lots of potential as a dancer, and that is their loss. It will be hard, but I will be here to help you get through this." Nilou states. "You enjoy dancing, I know it, and your props also allow you some extra finance."
You nod, wiping your tears before nodding.
--
Your first dance after the last argument you would have with Tighnari, you couldn't dance normally. Usually optimistic and full of energy in your moves, you become slow and weighted with your movements. Graceful in a sorrowful way, you decide against going to grab the prop you had ready, letting your limbs do the work. You feel like the music has stopped, but you keep going, your mind creating a sad melody that you would dance to. Your eyes close shut, you fully becoming immersed with the impending sense of sorrow as you feel your dance beginning to come to it's end. Your last step fumbles at the end, but your arms recover, you on the ground as you slowly open your eyes.
A few seconds pass, and you hear someone start to applaud, everyone else joining in. Looking up, you see Nilou waving at you, mouthing at you to talk to her.
When you go along, she gives you a suggestion. Not one on your dance that you just monumentally changed, but on how to be happier. She suggests that you go to Liyue and find a woman that goes by the name of Yunjin.
"I think you need to be away from Sumeru, at least until you can stop thinking about them." She explains. "I look forward to seeing you again." She smiles, you nodding before you decide to head off towards Liyue.
--
"Excuse me sir." You call out to a man enjoying a cup of tea, hoping you weren't interrupting him. "I am looking for a Miss Yunjin, do you know where I can find her?"
"I do, actually." The man responds. "I was just about to head off for a performance of hers. Would you care to come along?"
"I would love that, thank you sir." You smile, following the man when he stands up, walking towards the location where Yunjin was.
You watch on in awe, taking in the beauty that was her performance. She was truly captivating, and you almost completely forget about needing to meet her and ask her about something before the man across from you nudges you, saying that now was the chance.
"Excuse me, Mis Yunjin?" You call out, the woman turning in surprise. "Sorry, haha. I'm from Sumeru, and Nilou has told me to look for you. I don't know if you would be looking to help me with my performances, however I also do my own prop work."
Yunjin laughs lightly, shaking her head out of disbelief.
"Ahh, yes. Nilou has told me all about you. Quite the story, I'm sure I could write a script on it." She teases lightly. "Accompany me, and I shall help you in finding yourself." She states.
You didn't actually see that man after the interaction at all, which did make you feel sad. You did hope you could thank him somehow, perhaps pay for his meal or give him a carving.
Yunjin turns out to be the discipline you need to solidify your dance. Your movements always remained heavy, however Yunjin taught you how to make even the heaviest of steps graceful and flawless to the blind eye. She also shows you how you can incorporate your props into your dance in various ways, her complimenting your handiwork in the process, and after she believes you are recovered from the last argument you had with your boyfriends, she tells you that she would like to have one performance where it's just you.
There is the man that showed you where Yunjin was. There is a shorter man across from him, in Inazuman attire, and hes also there to enjoy the show.
The performance seems to go much better than you anticipated, your dance showing your process of recovering from the heartbreak of 'a' lover who chastised you repeatedly for a passion that was immature according to them. The performance ends, and you hear two sets of feet approaching you.
"Your footwork is quite exquisite." The taller man states. "And those arms carry the burden of a lover scorned."
"Thank you, sir. Oh, and I must also thank you for showing me where miss Yunjin was." You smile.
"What are your plans now that your training is complete?" The man asks.
"Well, I have Sumeru I can return to. I had to leave from a previous relationship, however I feel that I can continue my craft back in my home nation." You respond.
"Would you mind if I accompany you?" The shorter man asks. "I have always wanted to see Sumeru for myself, and I'm sure you could show me some special spots most could only dream of."
You nod, introducing yourself. The man introduces himself as Kazuha, a mere wanderer.
--
The walk to Sumeru was surprisingly nice, the man with you having a lovely conversation with you. You find out he enjoys exploring, not intending on settling soon, and he tells you of all these places he had been. He doesn't bring up Inazuma, and you decide against asking him. Chances are, he had an awful time in Inazuma and you'd rather not sour this mood.
He finds out, after he promises not to judge you, that you had two lovers who never truly supported your dance career. It was the very reason you left Sumeru, and there was a small part of you that felt worried. Kazuha reassures you that he was going to be there with you when you return to your usual place, and you smile and nod in acknowledgement.
--
The moment Nilou spots you, she gasps before she runs up to you, asking how you were. You say you're doing much better, and you were now thankfully no longer so stuck in the past.
She looks at Kazuha, hiding her smirk before introducing herself. Kazuha introduces himself, and Nilou invites him to stay for a performance before heading off for his next destination. Of course, she drags you along explaining she was looking forward to seeing you dance.
"I think he likes you, _." Nilou teases.
"Oh please. He's a free soul, I wouldn't be able to date him."
"Whatever you say." She giggles, looking over at Kazuha before freezing.
Tighnari is there.
"Tighnaris here, do you still want to perform?" Nilou asks, clearly worried you were going to get worse again.
"Yes." You definitively state, a determined look in your eye.
--
A performance later, and you walk over to Kazuha, Tighnari conveniently behind him. You don't see How Tighnaris tail stills when he realises you weren't walking to him, but another man. Here he was, hoping to apologise for being so mean and tell you that you were great.
"You did well." Kazuha states, you smiling and thanking him. You look behind Kazuha, seeing Tighnari waiting for you to talk to him, and you tell Kazuha you'll be ready to show him around Sumeru after you finish old business.
"_, I've missed you so much." Tighnari begins. "I decided to come along when I saw you were back, and I figured I may as well watch one of those performances. I realise now that you are very good at this, and-"
"Stop, please." You hush him. "In our relationship, the only thing we did was fight. I'm sure the only reason you even came here today was because you saw me with a man that wasn't you nor Cyno."
"I can do better, please give me a chance."
"No, I'm at peace now. It's about time you adjusted to not having me in the relationship, which I'm sure won't be too difficult for you."
"Can he provide what I can? Is he smarter than me, do you find him-"
"Tighnari, stop." You growl. "He's just a friend, and he isn't even going to be staying in Sumeru for too long. I'm only here to show him some spots."
And with that, Kazuha taps your shoulder.
"I think it might be a good time for us to get some rest. Your friend gave us a room for the night." Kazuha states, his eyes going to Tighnari. "It's nice to put a face to the name."
Before Tighnari can ask Kazuha what he knows about Tighnari, Kazuha guides you along, a smug looking Nilou showing you your room.
And of course there was only one bed.

"[Name], why do you look so tired? You shouldn't be tired, I should be tired. Actually, I can't be tired, never mind. Did someone do this to you? Your... parents? Well, what are you waiting for? Show me where they live, I'll get rid of them immediately so you and I can have a bit of alone time together before Ei comes back. Stupid mortals..."
Ei
"Dear, how are you? Oh, you look awful! My apology, I couldn't think of another way to word it. Are you okay? No? Oh, okay. Maybe you'd like some... sweets! O-or candy! We can eat candy together to make you feel better! Please?"
Jean
"You look stressed beyond belief, [name]. You really need to take a break, yes, a break from your parents I mean. If they're toxic for your healththen you need to stay away from them. That might be hard but its okay, I'm the Acting Grand Master of Mondstadt and the Knights of Favonius. I can... kick them out of the city! Quite unprofessional but you're one of our best knights. We can't afford to lose you to them. Stay at the headquarters' dorms for the night."
Barbara
"Oh no, [name]! You look terrible! Is it your parents again? Oh dear... You should get some rest, I really care about you, you know that right? Oh Barbatos, whatever will we do? Your parentsare going to kill you if this keeps up! I have some blankets, erm, neck pillows and oh-! I have all the ingredients we need for baking cookies? Would you like to bake with me? It'll make you feel good, I promise."
Itto
"Woah, woah, woah! [Name] you look... TERRIBLE! I won't stand for that! We're the Arataki Gang, you know? We're supposed to be all tough and cool looking: you're not looking like that right now! If something's come up, then don't you worry. Arataki, numero uno, Itto will come to your rescue. And no, I don't care that its your parents, if they're making you feel bad then they best be prepared for a fight! Trust me, it'll be okay, your big, badass, sexy boyfriend will protect you through and through!"
Zhongli
"Dear, have some tea. I know the past few days have been stressful, and your parents certainly aren't helpful, but please don't give up like this. Come, sit next to me. There there, I'm here."
Kuki
"Hey... I know how you feel. My parents were really toxic too, especially my mom. But, I believe in you. Things will get better one way or another: even if it's not them being more accepting. Maybe... it'll be us getting even closer together... BUT that's just a suggestion, heh..."
Diluc
"Maybe we need to get you away from your parents for a while... Elzer, prepare a room for [name] please. They look like they need a good night's sleep. Hush dear, it's going to be alright. They can't hurt you anymore. They wouldn't dare hurt you anymore. You're here with me, and Elzer, and Adeline."
Kaeya
"Oh, don't seem to be yourself today, hm? That's okay, everyone has their bad days. Even I do, believe it or not. Well, my beautiful significant other, I'm here with you, you're what's keeping me sane. Smile, it looks better on you."
Lisa
"Cutie! You scared me, oh no don't cry! Please, tell me. Mhm? Your parents. Ah. Darling you know how angry I get when people don't return a book, right? Well, I can be even more fierce than that. The Witch of the Purple Rose does not take those who mess with her darling lightly. "
Nilou
"This society is messed up, the sages, your parents. They just don't seem to listen to us youths! They think we're young, that we're dumb! It makes me terribly sad :( It's okay, do you want a hug?"
Al-Haitham
You see, my guy doesn't say anything. He walks out and you don't see him for about an hour or so. On the contrary, you didn't come back home to your parents that day.

His Dream That, As of Yet, Remained Undreamt - Al Haitham
Author Notes: Behold, an unplanned sequel fic that was written solely because I decide to listen to that slowed reverb edit of the Albanian Remix of "Habibi" by Ricky Rich posted on Youtube by Lunaries again while writing. Anyhow, this is the sequel to the first Al Haitham fic I ever wrote and which is linked below, but you can probably read this as a stand alone of sorts. Reader is gender neutral, but they are also a dancer. This takes place post Sumeru archon questline I hope you enjoy.
Part 1: A Dream Thus Far Undreamt
Type: Fluff/romance (implied with great interest from Alhaitham)/gender-neutral reader/post Sumeru archon questline
Word Count: 872
Tumblr media
Sheer fabrics swirled through the air, a spiraling vision of blue and red interspersed with golden threads that made the two dancers seem like the greatest treasures that this land owned.
Sumeru had changed since Azar had been displaced, the archon restored, and Al Haitham had become the Acting Grand Sage. The arts were no longer frowned upon, and the bazaar, with all its exotic scents and rousing music, was almost constantly filled with students from the Akademiya.
They were like starved men. Partaking in artistry that delighted both their eyes and ears for the first time as they consumed every form of art as if this were their only chance.
The smell of spices filled the streets, and voices could be heard everywhere, forcing one to strain to hear the music that the two women danced to. Each a different form of beauty and elegance in the way they interpreted their music.
Nilou was, without a doubt, the fan favorite. Kaveh himself had begun composing shoddy poetry that poorly described her flaming red hair and the blue silks of her robes.
Unaware of her word bereft fan, Nilou smiled widely as she looked towards her fellow dancer, who joined her on stage in deep red robes that swirled gracefully around their form.
You were the less popular of the two for reasons beyond Al Haitham. Perhaps it was because he, unlike Kaveh, was not nearly as rabid in his affections, nor did he struggle amongst the throng of students in a wild attempt to watch the performance. Instead, he watched as he ever did, from a distant and raised position on a restaurant’s balcony.
Al Haitham was no fool. He knew that no mere words could ever describe the way you moved, looked, and even spoke.
While Nilou’s smiles were like the bright sun that lit up the daytime so that workers could see their crafts and people could go about their lives, you were different.
You were more like the moon. Possessing a gentleness that was at odds with warm-hued clothes you wore.
Yours was a beauty that seemed more mysterious and enchanting to Al Haitham. Perhaps this was the true reason you did not possess the fame of your fellow dancer.
Nilou was more recognized, and people were comfortable with her charms. It was less otherworldly and inexplicable.
Your charm, on the other hand, was more of the spellbinding variety. Something that few possessed and Al Haitham doubted he would ever truly understand.
And that was why he suffered through Kaveh reciting his poetry while he remained silent and observed, as he always did.
The heavens had not recognized you as they had Nilou for her art and embodiment of beauty, but Al Haitham did.
Al Haitham did and would continue to do so for a lifetime, even as your performance ended.
Both you and Nilou gracefully spun to a stop as your hands interlocked, and you both stopped. Chest to chest, with your smiling faces toward the crowd who cheered and showered you both with flowers.
You both waved. Nilou, with endearing shyness that seemed to make the crowd rave still more. You, holding back and staying slightly behind your fellow dancer.
But then it happened, and you caught Al Haitham off guard as you looked up and made eye contact with him, a gentle smile crossing your face as your eyes met his.
A tiny wave followed by a graceful inclination of your head was all you gave before your attention was taken by Nilou, who grasped your hands and pulled you to the front of the stage alongside her. Obviously wanting you to receive the same praise she was showered with.
The Acting Grand Sage was silent as he continued to gaze down at the two of you. Stunned that he had not only been noticed, but that you had smiled in a way that spoke of recognition.
Apparently he wasn't the only one who remembered your meetings in Port Ormos long before he’d known anything about the state of Sumeru’s Archon. Brief meetings, each of them, but they had made him intrigued by the possibility of a little thing called fate.
Because meeting you hadn’t seemed like an accident. It had seemed more like the beginning of a long path that had slowly been winding its way through numerous brief and often startling moments of seeing you through a crowd up until this day.
Al Haitham sat back, a smile crossing his features as his vision tunneled until you were his sole focus. It seemed that he had been noticed by his dream, that as of yet, remained undreamt.
The crowd slowly began to disperse, waved off by some of Nilou’s friends, and you were briefly left on stage alone, your head tilting back so that you once more looked up. Your sparkling eyes met his two-toned gaze as a knowing smile crossed your face again.
And it was then that Al Haitham knew this unspoken design of his would not remain wordless. It was high time that he at last approached his dream, which stemmed from days when the people of Sumeru did not dream unless it was wished for by the gods themselves.
