I currently just feel so overwhelmed by cleaning
Does anyone have any ADHD cleaning tips?
Rant below
I have no clue on how to fix this but I'm sick of having no space and being treated by my parents like I'm a slob
You know even though they never bothered to teach me how to clean, how they clean is based on their dopamine "time to do this task now" and how I've never lived in a clean house my whole
I just feel so frustrated
Currently my brain thinks that if I get storage (because I do not, and it resulted in me just having shit everywhere)
I just feel so frustrated and it's keeping me awake and I just want to sleep and not think about this

Is my house trashed? Yes.
Should I clean it? Yes.
Do I rarely get days off which overall leads to said house being trashed? Yes.
Does even looking at it cause anxiety and an overall doom feeling? Yes.
So...
Am I going to clean it now that I finally have a day off.
No.
And yes.
I'll get to it.

*takes your face gently in my hands and looks sincerely into your eyes* listen. your home does not need to look like a showroom. homes are meant to be lived in, and that means a certain amount of mess. it's okay if there is clutter on your desk or if you don't remember the last time you cleaned your oven. mess is morally neutral. but at the same time, you deserve to live in an environment that is safe and comfortable, and that means someone has to clean sometimes. things like mold, spoiled food, and dirty litter boxes are genuine health hazards and need to be dealt with before they make someone sick. think of cleaning less as "my home needs to be completely spotless" and more as "I am an animal and I need a habitat that is free of hazardous material." it's okay. *kisses you on the forehead and tucks you into a blanket*
(and of course it is always acceptable and even good for you to ask someone else to help you with cleaning if it's physically or mentally difficult for you. even if you're paying them to do it.)

It took me some time to realize I was neurodivergent
It took me a bit longer to realize what it entailed
And to accept it

Anon physically cannot clean, do dishes, do laundry, etc unless they're in light, loose clothing. Anyone relate?

What's the stupidest neurodivergent cleaning hack that works for you?
For us we actually put clothes in the hamper as long as we have a separate little hamper for underwear
Apparently the act of seperating out the pants means both hampers get used correctly
I am both very glad this works and fucking furious about how stupid it is

Adhd ppl should have adhd friends where you just go and clean each other's house/room for them bc its easier to tidy up someone else's place than it is to tidy up my own

yeah yeah we all love the "you fuck her" scene because the mom is right on the money sorta, but is it just me or is it also kinda fucked up?
isn't it fucked up that she thinks the only way andrew, ashley's whole ass brother who essentially had to raise her himself, would stay by her side, would be if he got to bang her?
isn't it fucked up that she thinks the only way ashley could possibly have value to someone would be tied to her body?
doesn't it a hit a bit close home to anybody who had one of those moms who kept policing your appearance and general behavior because "men won't want you if you do this and that"?
ashley deserved to eat her parents. as a treat.

Anyway i think any ADHD person who is in school should be allowed to take breaks from class as needed in which time they may go on a rollercoaster or similar fairground ride, and then return to class.

adhd culture is realizing that 90% of your struggles is a war between body energy and brain energy. either your body is tired and your brain wants to work, or your brain is tired and your body wants to run a marathon.
