We're entering another US election year and there is another growing wave of anonymous harassment campaigns across most areas of the trans community on Tumblr with the very clear intent of sewing division and hatred among the current most visibly politically targeted minority group within the States and I watched this happen in 2015-2016 and I watched this happen in 2019-2020 and I'm watching this happen again in 2023-2024 and I am so tired.

Like - I truly don't think it's all psyops. I do think a lot of it is people looking to stir drama and be laterally transphobic, especially currently. But like. Come on. A bad actor sewing division at a politically vulnerable time is still a bad actor sewing division at a politically vulnerable time.

I'm sorry this is harsh, but genuinely? Block that shit. Quit falling for it and subsequently platforming it. Stop giving it the legitimacy and attention it craves and thrives on.

Dear transgender folk, I love you.

Most of the people who will read this I will never meet, and yet I still care for them all. The bisexual and the transgender communities are historically inherently intertwined and I am so proud to embrace their intersectionality and nuances.

I especially want to reach out to young trans/gnc/questioning people living in states or countries that are becoming increasingly unsafe to live in. I am Oklahoma and I am deeply troubled by the overwhelming feeling of powerlessness, and still I refuse to back down. I will not be complacent just because I, as a cisgender woman, may not be personally affected.

I have a voice and so do you, and they are meant to be used. One protester with a sign is always better than staying quiet and staying quiet—for those of us who are safe enough to do so; your safety is the priority, after all. United we cannot be suppressed. We will rise up in solidarity stronger than ever. We will make selfish fascists fear for their lives as much as they have made my friends' fear for their own. I know that living in this era is a struggle for myriad reasons, and I also know that change for the better is possible, but only if we try harder than our oppressors.

I love you. I may never have the honor of meeting you personally but please know that I fucking love you and I want you to live authentically, joyously, and downright hedonistically. If so many people can devote their lives to hating people that they don't know, then I will devote my life to loving the people that I don't know.

You will never identify in a way that pleases everybody.

No one ever will.

The whole point of identifying with a label or community is to say "this resonates with me and my experiences, so this is the language I will use to describe myself" and everyone else will have their own, different, reasoning for why it also resonates with them. And that's beautiful because the human experience transcends the language we use to describe ourselves. It's bigger than our words because words fail constantly.

But because of that - your reasoning for identifying with or as something will always be wrong in the eyes of at least one other person or group of people. Even if you play it by The Rules as much as possible because The Rules are made up and fluid and subject to change at a moments notice.

You will always be doing something "wrong" in the eyes of someone else so stop focusing on how to be "right" (unattainable) and focus instead on what makes you happiest and most comfortable (attainable).

I'm seriously done with it.

I have dysphoria, I hated myself, I was anti-nb, I was anti-nondysphorics, I was anti-xenogender, I was truscum garbage, I identified as ftm, I wore baggy and oversized clothes to deal with dysphoria. I wanted and still continue to want, to end my life due to dysphoria.

Fuck "Actual trans people" It's gatekeeper bullshit I won't stand for. Genuinely so tired of seeing that stupid shit.

The most cis-conforming trans person is still trans, therefore still unacceptable.

As an "Actually trans person" fuck off with that.
