Update on my Cleaning Strike: Day 3

So, they think I'm not feeling well. They think that because of my sciatic nerve pain I'm not able to do what I normally do. I overheard them talking and saying I need to rest. So, they're letting me rest 🤣 yet, nothing is getting done.

Hubby was looking for clean shorts. 🤣 too bad, so sad. Bella was looking for her favorite cup, it's in the sink dirty. Oh well! Bella told me I'm "acting different" ... and I was like " oh?, how so?" And she said she couldn't explain it.

Yet... dishes are piling up and I'm chillin on the couch ( I'm dying inside though) ....

Hubby is planning a cookout for tonight, this means a huge mess. Always. I love that he cooks, but why use EVERY SINGLE COOKING ITEM? I clean as I cook, anyone else?

Well, still waiting for them to realize what's going on. I'm worried this will backfire and I'll end up cleaning a weeks worth of mess.

Welcome to my blog filled with lots of struggles, love and no life hacks because I’m a first time mom and have no idea what I’m doing. I’m going to start by saying that I’m mad “mediocremom” username was taken and because I’m REALLY feeling it I had to add 01. Who knows; maybe when I’m feeling frisky I’ll change it to something more unique. ANYWAYS. My son will be 10 weeks on Thursday and it’s mind blowing how much I can love someone in such a short amount of time. Literally the second he came out I got an overpowering feeling of “mine” and became super obsessive. Also I welcomed an overpowering feeling of anxiety... hello motherhood and hello postpartum anxiety. I apologize in advance for my horrid spelling and/or grammatical mistakes. I’m only human and I’m a very tired mom, who is currently doing this solo as my husband is deployed for the next year. I hope this little blog finds someone and knows they aren’t alone. I’m Aly. I started this blog as a way to write about motherhood(as a mom and stepmom), to showcase my crochet projects, to chronicle my journey to healthy skin, and to share my adventures as a fiancée! I hope you enjoy this journey with me.

I’ve always had a passion for writing. Growing up, I’ve written poetry and short stories, and I’ve gone through a series of blogs that I’ve attempted to publish, but never actually had gone through with. I’ve decided to stick with what I know best, in hopes that I can thoroughly express myself and connect with other writers along the way.

“Life by Lattes” was born out of my love for coffee (obviously!) and my many challenges in life. First, I had an account called “Literature x Lattes” (Literature by Lattes), in which I talked about everyday life and my love of books; next was Crochet x Lattes (Crochet by Lattes), in which I charted various crochet projects and my trials of motherhood. Now, I want to touch on different topics that I love why enjoying my favorite beverage and doing what I love most— writing!

After a VERY long 9 months, I am officially going to be having this baby of mine on Monday. I am beyond excited and exhausted..My oldest cannot wait to meet her baby sister, although I am very disappointed that my daughter can't meet her sister until she comes home. Our hospital is on lockdown due to the Flu going around, so no one under the age of 18 is allowed. EVEN SIBLINGS. It hurts my heart to think I will be away from my daughter for 2-3 days.

Alles begann mit einem Test für knapp 3 € aus dem Drogeriemarkt da ich wenige Tage überfällig war.. Ich habe also am Vorabend, wie man es halt kennt, den Test gemacht - dieser allerdings zeigte nach mehreren Minuten das Ergebnis negativ an ... Somit war die Sache für mich eigentlich erledigt und ich habe ihn entsorgt.

Aus irgendeinem Grund aber sollte ich am nächsten morgen aber nochmals nach dem Test schauen.. ich hatte so ein Gefühl.. als ich also den Test aus dem Müll geholt waren es plötzlich 2 Striche.. positiv.. Ich dachte mir noch nichts großes dabei - es kann ja auch nur ein Verdunstungsstreifen sein wie ich im Internet erfuhr.. allerdings ließ es mir keine Ruhe und ich wollte Gewissheit... Also weckte ich meinen Freund der noch seelenruhig schlief um einen zweiten Test aus der Apotheke zu holen..

Nun ja .. Die Anspannung stieg bei uns beiden derartig an.. Das Ergebnis des zweiten Tests (dieses Mal mit Morgenurin) schlug direkt nach einer Minute an.. wieder positiv..

In diesem Moment musste ich einfach nur noch weinen...

Anyone else decide to try blogging 5 minutes ago ?

          Day 38 of the shut down. Jeesh, why did i think it was day 1874983428?Anyway, according to my google search i’m supposed to start off my new blog life by introducing myself. (Yes, i totally googled “how to write your first blog”.) and then it wants me to tell you “my voice” in which i haven’t quite figured out yet. Also i should add images and or videos and other things to grab readers attention. Followed up with keeping it short and sweet as not to bore you causing you to leave my page never to return. 

            So with that being said, my name is most commonly “Mom” or “Babe” occasionally Courtney. I’m a 30 year old mom to a 11 year old autistic boy and pregnant with my second coming in strong at 12 weeks. Today I literally fell asleep during our Covid homeschooling GO ME. Big shout out thank you to my SO for taking over. #livingthatperfectmomlife My sons education is #1 to me don’t get me wrong, but these days sitting home in a stay at home order are something else. Sooo happy to add morning sickness, fatigue, seasonal allergies and getting a new unpaid job as a teacher to a middle schooler (shout out to all the teachers out there!!) also trapped bored in the house with my lovely SO who i typically adore except for the last 30 of 38 days. Totally exaggerated but you get it, your doing it too, and it definitely is not easy. 

              I guess in staying to true how i’m feeling ill be blogging about being a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, an employee if i ever get to go back to work and a pregnant one at that. Oh and sometimes Courtney. Summing that all up to a WOMEN trying to do right by the people I care about. 

              I don’t think i’ll be adding videos or pictures yet. Unless Tumblr has made it easy somehow. Maybe my son will know how (literally laughing out loud because i’m totally serious).

               Last but not least i think i did a crap job at keeping it short and sweet but hey , its my first go , cut me some slack and come back !

It’s Merve {Mervé}, I’m a quarter of a century old and now a mother of a little man, who is 46 days old today..

For many this blogs contents might have very little experience, for others, it will be like fresh baked bread coming out the oven. Every feeling of motherhood is crisp and fresh here.

Its like being a baby myself and learning how to walk again; there are pebbles and stones in front of me tripping me up as I try to go forward.

It’s like being a student again and learning something new, but you do not have a teacher and do not go in lectures, you learn as you go. You actually realise that you knew everything all along but didn’t know you had it in you. All the knowledge is in there and you figure it out as you nurture your little one.

Motherhood is a big step, a very big step to take in life. It opens a new door in your life, you find yourself to be a woman that can do much more than you thought you could. Your heart grows, bigger and fonder.. You experience a type of love that had never existed before.

Of course, it’s not happy days all the time, probably not even half the time because one moment you see a tiny little face with a big smile but the next hour they will cry like there is no tomorrow.

During my pregnancy I didn’t know anything, was very uneducated if you want to call it.. but that was okay with me, as I like to learn new things and educate myself which I think I did really well. I read a lot and listened to myself a lot. Birth was a whole new topic on its own. I’m still learning.. And from now on I will learn something new every day..
