#me: oh cool there's a new kiddo on the site!

Note
Okay, kiddo, I'm following you because you are new and I've been here for over a decade. Yeah, I am old. Here are few things to know about tumblr;
You are not your follower count. Once upon a time, see about eight or so years ago, follower count was everything. Everyone wanted to be "tumblr famous." That attitude faded out as the people who wanted to be famous moved onto other social media sites like instagram and tiktok. We, who stayed behind, didn't care on way or the other. In fact, most of all use xkit to hide our follower count from even ourselves. Out of sight, out of mind.
Oh, if you don't have xkit on your browser, get it. It is an extension that allows you to tweak your dashboard to your liking. By using it, you can get rid of things like that "live tumblr" bar and ads. It's no secret. Everyone uses it. And it is safe.
Follow Neil Gaiman. Trust me, your experience on this site will become better for it. He's less of a "celebrity" here and more of a landmark. The more you use this site, the more posts you will come across referring to him. Following him means you will get all of the references. And, again, there will be references. Plenty of them.
It is okay to unfollow. REPEAT AFTER ME, it is okay to unfollow. Is someone you are following starting to post things that make you uncomfortable? Unfollow. Has a tumblr just starting to become to dull for you? Unfollow. Your dash is your own. It should make you happy to come here and scroll. If it doesn't? Start unfollowing people until it does. Think of it as cleaning up your room. Heck, after this post, if you unfollow me, that's cool. You're new. You do you.
In return, if someone unfollows you DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. Everyone goes through phases. And that person who unfollowed you is trying something else. It's not you. It's them. Again, YOU ARE NOT YOUR FOLLOWER COUNT.
Tumblr is first and foremost a hobby site. It's not suppose to bring you stress. It's suppose to be the place you go to get away from stress. If you feel anxious coming here, clean up your dash until you feel better. It is okay to hop from trend to trend. From obsession to obsession. Don't feel pressure to follow the crowd. Yes, there will be occasional posts of, "If you don't reblog this you are the worst peson in the world and everyone know it," floating around. Us, older users, ignore them. No, you are not the worst person in the world if you want to keep your tumblr/dash your little own happy place. Everyone needs their own personal happy place for their own morale. Let tumblr be that.
I hope this helps a bit.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me! You're very kind ❤️

Okay but like..... hawks as a body piercer or tattoo artist
Babyyyy!😩 Hawks with tats and piercings?!!?
Tumblr media
That’s TOO much flavor. Like things are getting too spicy for the pepper ma’am.
Tattoo Shop AU (Hawks x GN Reader)
Your friend had recommended this place to you. Fierce Wings Piercing and Tattoo. And since all of f/n’s body work was dope, you trusted their judgement.
What kind of name is Fierce Wings?
You wondered as you checked out the artwork of intricate red wings etched on the glass door.
Ah well. Inside, the shop gave off a cool industrial vibe; with it’s brick walls, exposed pipes in the ceilings, and cool light fixtures.
You marveled at the beautiful pictures of artwork that must have been done on previous clients hanging in various picture frames from the walls.
A rock song you didn’t recognize pumped through the large shop and the front desk sat unoccupied.
The shop seemed to be empty from what you could gather.
“Umm, hello?” You called out, peering around the corner which was sectioned off with a crimson red divider
“Yo, yo!” A deep, lazy voice called back.
The voice, it turned out, was attached to the most beautiful man you had ever seen in your entire life. A man with tousled ash blonde hair emerged from the back. He was a bit shorter than average, body lean and rippling with muscle that looked like it came from actual manual labor rather than a workout routine.
His skin was a tapestry of patterns and designs. A colorful sleeve of Japanese art climbed his left arm, a geisha and an oiran on his right. The beautiful colors popped even more against the black tanktop he wore. He had a small gold hoop in every hole in his ear from the lobe to the cartilage and a barbell in his left brow.
But the real draw were his eyes. They were like nothing you had ever seen on a human being. A sort of liquid amber like a cats or more precisely like a hawk’s...
A slow smile spread across the man’s face. Those beautiful golden eyes ran over you—as if appraising your appearance.
“Hey there, welcome to Fierce Wings. What can I do for ya?”
“I wanted to get some new ink.” You explained.
“Well you came to the right place. Got anything particular in mind?”
“Oh, yeah! Here.” You handed the man your phone.
Hé whistled. “That’s beautiful, kid. That’s gonna be fun, but first things first. If I’m gonna be mutilating your skin for the next several hours, we should probably get acquainted first, huh? My name is Keigo, but everybody knows me as Hawks. How ‘bout yourself?”
“Y/n.” You answered.
“Well, y/n, if you’re ready we can get started. Follow me to the back and let’s get you prepped.”
As you followed Hawks to the back of the shop, you noted that all the stalls were indeed empty.
“I hope I didn’t catch you at closing or something. I saw on your site that you guys take walk-ins.”
You said as Hawks ushered you into a booth in the back.
“Ah, you’re good, kid. Funny story, all of my other artists quit on me except one. My boy, Dabi.”
“Holy shit, really?”
“Yupperdoodles.” Hawks laughed.
“Why?”
“During co-vid, everybody found it more fruitful to go off and do their own things. I can’t even be mad at ‘em. After that shut down and with us not knowing whether or not well have another one or not, everybody’s just searching for job security. So we’ve had to adapt.”
“How has that been?”
“It’s been chill,” Hawks said as he cleansed your skin. “Less people, less drama. Unfortunately that means we’ve had to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps around here, but hey,” he shrugged, “I’m used to it. I go hard in everything I do, ya feel me?”
He winked and you felt your cheeks burn. Was that...an innuendo?
“Well, your work is amazing. My friend, f/n, recommended I come to you all.”
“Ah yeah, I remember f/n.” His face brightened at the name. “They’re good people! Tell ‘em I said: hi and thanks for the referral, when you see them again.”
“Will do.”
You settled back on the chair as Hawks went to work stenciling the design you’d chosen on your skin. His long tongue occasionally ran over his lips as his amber eyes narrowed in concentration.
Holy shit. His tongue is pierced too. Fuck that’s hot.
“You trying to commit my face to memory or sum’n, y/n?” Hawks asked, startling you.
His hooded gaze never left the work he was doing on your skin, but an amused half smile danced on his face.
“N-no, I was just thinking how amazing it is that you only saw that picture once, but you’ve got it down to the detail.”
Hawks chuckled. “That’s my gift at work. I have photographic memory. As soon as I get the information, it’s locked in. Came in handy in flight school.”
“Flight school?”
“Yeah, studied to be a pilot back in the day.” He tapped his index finger against his temple and glanced up at you. “This quick brain of mine made me a beast in the cockpit.”
“Is that how you got the name Hawks?” You asked.
“Cute and smart. A dangerous combination kid.”
You bit your lip, heart fluttering a bit at the compliment.
“Alright, y/n, I’m gonna get started now. How’s that look?”
You admired Hawks’ handy work. It was stunning. Every detail was accounted for.
“Perfect. Ohh it’s gonna be so dope!”
He grinned at you. “Sure is, kiddo.”
In a matter of minutes, the humming of the tattoo gun filled the air as Hawks worked. His handsome face was scrunched in concentration. He was moving quickly, but carefully. Obviously a master at his craft.
“There you go sizing me up again, kid.” Hawks piped up out of nowhere.
You bit your lip once again—caught and embarrassed.
“Like what you see?” He asked. His gaze flicked up at you, lusty and half-hooded, a smirk settled on his face.
Your throat went dry.
“Ye-yeah. Um, the tattoo looks amazing...”
“The tattoo or the tattooer?” He teased.
Fuck it. If he’s gonna tease me to death, I might as well throw it back at him.
“Por que no los dos?” You shot back.
Hawks laughed, surprised. “Both is good, kiddo.”
You smiled in response, glad the flirtatious cutie hadn’t thrown you too far off your game.
“So, Hawks, did you choose the name Fierce Wings because of your time as a pilot?”
“You bet. Fitting for the fiercest former fighter pilot in Japan. It was also my codename.”
“Damn, how many names do you have?”
“Hmm, let’s see, there’s: Keigo, Kei, Takami, Hawks, Fierce Wings, Wings, Big daddy, master, lover boy-“
You laughed, covering your face a bit at Hawks’ antics.
He let out a deep chuckle in response.
“But my favoriiite,” he said, dragging out the word as he tilted his head to look over your tat; “is; Oh God, yesss.”
His tone dripped with silent suggestiveness. Fingers gently brushing your skin as he examined his work thus far.
Your neck and face burned at the implications of his statement.
Hawks looked up at you once more, pierced tongue dragging across his full bottom lip.
And suddenly, neither of you were laughing anymore.

Headcanons for being Natasha Romanoff’s child
Natasha Romanoff x child!reader
warnings:
a/n:
prompt: anonymous: “Hi! Can I request a HC for being Natasha's daughter? I think you haven't done it ^^ In love with your work btw ;)”
Tumblr media
natasha saved you from a terribly cruel family that worked alongside HYDRA, they didn’t care much for you
she decided to take you in since she knew you couldn’t have a normal life after all that you’d already been through at such a young age
“think it’d be okay if you came home with me, sweetheart?”
you were happy to have a nice person in your life
she took off work for a while to help you settle in
natasha wished that she had a loving family growing up, or just anyone to support her
so this was how she was going to make it up
“do you want to talk about anything?”
“when dad was alive he hurt people. i didn’t like the sound of it”
her heart broke hearing such a young child have to be affected by something like that
she made sure you knew how much she loved you
you called her “miss nat” for a while
take your child to work day!!!!
she took you to SHIELD HQ
you LOVED IT you wandered off and watched other ppl work
“agent romanoff, why is your child on agent coulson’s shoulders” -fury
“my child loves to feel like their flying”
“alright, you make a fair point”
nick called you “litte agent” which sparked your inspiration to become a spy like natasha
“miss nat, i wanna be a spy when i grow up!”
“you do? well, you can do that if it’s what you really want”
you suddenly switched from “miss nat” to “momma nat” and she had to backtrack for a minute
“what did you call me?” she was BEAMING omg
“...momma”
she gave u momma bear kisses
over the years, you taught yourself the ways of an agent and a spy, asking momma nat for a few pointers here and there
also uncle clint offered to give you some help
“yeah, kid, just point and shoot”
“clint, i said ‘self defense’ classes, not ‘the most effective ways to murder someone’ classes”
“they go hand in hand, nat, you know this”
“what if i was wanting to teach them myself?”
“well, do you?”
*pulls him aside* “as a birthday present”
you really did well during any sort of training
guess you just take after your mom
when you were old enough, you applied to SHIELD (under y/n l/n instead of y/n romanoff) and passed every test that was thrown your way
“you’re a natural, l/n”
“thanks, i learned from the best”
you wanted to earn respect on your own, so you didn’t tell anyone your relationship with nat
and anyone who did know you before knew not to say anything about it
it was also a good move bc it put a target on your backs if any of your enemies discovered you were family, you’d rather not share bad guys
✨the avengers thought you were awesome✨
“y/n, you are so much cooler than your mom”
“say it again and i’ll dislocate your shoulder!” :)
clint is so entertained by you
tony just loves messing w you
“baby spider in the house!”
“spider? where? shall i kill it?” -thor
“no, thor, we’re just teasing y/n”
“do not joke about spiders, stark. one day, i may not answer your cries because i’ll figure you’re just joking”
“that got serious fast”
nat forgets youre grown sometimes
so she gets all protective of you and then goes 😳 when you kick someones ass for yourself
that’s her kiddo!!
getting thrown into the midst of a few avenger battles
but handling yourself pretty well if i do say so myself
nat hugged you a lot when you were a kid and she still does now
only longer bc she doesn’t like letting go often
“mom? you okay?”
“i just wanted a hug is all”
“oh, okay”
when u hug her back she remembers exactly why she chose to become a mother
she wanted to show you that love still exists in this world, even if you’re not shown it immediately
become sort of a role model/mentor to newer, younger avengers
i mean, wanda was about your age, so she asked you often what it was like to be so young and work as an avenger
you told her that when you’re given a life like this, your age doesn’t matter out in the field. it’s your choices that matter. once you begin to learn the ways of a team like this and you gain each other’s respect, that’s all there is to it
“your mother is the black widow?”
“that she is, mom first, widow second”
PETER PETER PETER
he fanboyed over you so hard when he met you and he had so many questions it never ended
“okay, so first: how do you do it? be so cool as a kid?”
“you take a deep breath and kick some ass”
“better advice than anything mr. stark has ever said to me—don’t tell him i said that please!”
you swore to secrecy
mother/daughter spy missions bc that’s AWESOME
choosing steve’s side in CW and honestly making her very proud of you
going on the run w her and team cap
which made for some very interesting memories
“mom, sam hid the tv remote from me”
“take the widow’s bite and give him a little shock so that he’ll budge”
“thanks! love you!”
big runaway family <3
“i like the new look, mom”
“yeah, i thought blonde might be pushing it but i guess it all worked out in the end”
rogue avengers -> avengers once more
well, those of you who were left
after most of your friends passed in the snap, you and your mom were more attached than ever, she felt like she would die if the two of you separated
sooner or later, it was time to fix past mistakes and go back in time
“i’ll see you in a minute, y/n, be careful” *forehead kiss*
“i will.”
and that was the last time you ever saw her
you ran into clints arms and sobbed
“i’m so sorry, y/n. i tried to stop her. she told me to tell you she loved you and she’s so proud of you”
if that wasn’t bad enough, you were attacked by another thanos and you fought with all your might
“is y/n okay?”
“just let them fight, they need this”
finally, the fighting was over and the avengers were triumphant, but at what cost?
tony’s funeral was held before nat’s
but natasha’s was bittersweet
and every week you bring flowers to her memorial site
the world wont forget her name

Is THIS what will push me to make an AO3 account? (not clickbait) (surprising)
Tumblr media
[See this journal in a better layout on my blog site or on DeviantArt.]
I’ve fallen so down abysmal for the Help, I Shrunk My… series – “…Teacher“, then “…Parents”, and finally (?) “…Friends” – especially the last movie and its scenes between peers, that I have such an uncharacteristic urge to write a fanfic.
Yep, fanfic. I did say uncharacteristic. But with the cuteness and quality, especially at certain scenes in “…Friends” like below, I don’t think you can blame me.
“Holy shit, I’m going to pass out/die/shit myself/etc.” -me, at nearly everything in this series
(Post?) Pubescent Pairings
A. The Classic Couple.
I’m already, because I’m a serial romantic that loves a good self-insert, thinking to name the whole story “Help, I Shrunk My Lover/Girlfriend” or something cheesy like that (maybe even in German?) for Felix and Ella to be stuck together and have to deal with (post?-) pubescent awkwardness. I mean, I feel so honey-dicked that we got cute shit like this and its amazing scene…
Tumblr media
God, look at that FOV, the (lack of) focus, the size difference, the subtitle, that face… Fuck.
…but it had to be ruined because – SPOILER – the dumb, lusting teen boy couldn’t see what was literally right in front of him for years until the end of the third movie! Plus, being steps away from a married couple of hotheads, who knows what kind of fights or arguments they’d get into? Are you telling me you wouldn’t want a scene like this again?
Tumblr media
That stick is actually way too big to really be a toothpick (or is it?), but I’m not mad. We stan a brave queen.
B. The Will-They/Won’t-They Duo
I’m thinking of making Mario and Melanie into each other, too, as irony based on how much they hated each other for most of the last movie. She stole his phone (and everything else) and then his heart. (lol, I’m so sorry.) Maybe she’d still have some fancies for Felix but then sees that Mario has redeeming qualities of his own, on top of a rich background (not that it matters, but money is cool). My main focus in mind was just for Ella to be shrunken, with Melanie being the supportive gal pal, but given she’s new and hasn’t yet been small herself, maybe this would be the time.
I think Mario would’ve totally gotten over the prepubescent power drive from the first movie by now and certainly no longer has even the slightest grudge over Melanie causing and/or catalyzing chaos that could be played with if he had to deal with a small her. Surely.
C. The Bros in the Back
Would it be too presumptive to make Chris and Robert maybe gay for each other… or even absolutely the opposite? I respect a strong friendship and/or bromance, and LGBTQ+ representation is always a win, too. But for either, I don’t want to do anything “just because” or because it’s “(not) woke;” it should add to the story and have meaning. After all, a situation like “Dude, I love you, and I’ll love you forever, but not like that” could be just as cute. We stan supportive introspection between men. Bros before hoes, you know?
Though, maybe they’re likely the great masterminds to figure out what/why the plot thickens. They seem like the most intelligent of the squad, even if they were only henchmen at the beginning.
D. The Elders
I guess it would only make sense for Schmitty or Felix’s parents to get shrunk again, as is tradition. Maybe the former would be due to considering retirement from teaching/being principal.
Tumblr media
I’d do anything to get Hausmeister Michalsky protecting her with his hat again.
As for the parents, it’d likely be a wrong place, wrong time situation. I don’t know.
Tumblr media
Unless Sandra and Peter were snooping again, I doubt Felix would willingly do this to them.
Overarching Themes
Aging for Innuendo
Regarding all this, I do know that I’d like to make the story time-skipped a bit, making the kids at least U.S.-adult-aged for my own sake. I am a fan of double entendre, cheekiness, and raw emotion, so I’d love to spill them all over a story or characterization if fitting. However, I couldn’t bear to see or write any kiddos explicitly going through with any entailed implications – that shit’s illegal, lmao. Plus, why even risk something like that when an age-up takes away all the trouble, thus not make any innuendos or ideas awkward?
In a fun way, small or not, wouldn’t seeing the gang party together with real man’s drinks or whatever be cool? What about someone getting turnt on a thimble’s worth or a gummy bear’s paw?
Tumblr media
The cups have been used. That’s adorable. +10 points for realism.
In a trash way, if a greater trust was built between Felix and Ella to wear one would suggest taking a bath with the other, and a small Ella floating in the soap ocean bumps into something on her back, only to realize all of Felix’s (normal) limbs are out of distance, in view, and/or just not able to touch her yet he’s blushing, then what would that imply? (It could be nothing, but it could be something.)
Why, Though?
I just can’t figure out a supposedly new catalyst for the ultimate shrinking plot point, mostly due to the main chaos causers, aka the ancient magic users that tackled the school, being sent to the Shadow Realm in the last movie. I do have some ideas, but I’d always love to hear more.
Tumblr media
*Oh, Hulda Stechbarth… Bless this crazy bitch, lol.
Throughout the series, people going to our wanting to go to America was frequently brought up. Maybe, like Ilvermorny is to Hogwarts, maybe there’s a (maybe American) (college?) counterpart to the Leonhard school that is interested in the kids. Could the sudden shrinking be a part of the admissions or entrance exam process, such as figuring out how to reverse it? I can’t imagine someone still wanting to go to a school that risked its prospective students’ lives, but who knows? Still, I’m sure the friends would debate whether going overseas for any school is the best idea, especially with the ridiculous costs. Could differing views cause tension?
What if one between Felix and Ella considered it, but the other didn’t, and a coincidentally timed dream for them to stay together – not unlike Minami-kun no Koibito, if you know it – made one of them small with no way for Felix to turn the affected back to normal (due to the tests)? What if people start believing that Felix is intentionally not transforming people back, despite not being at fault but trying his best the whole time?
I suppose another villain is cool, too, but what would be their spite? Would Felix getting all of Leonhard’s power be enough to spark something?
***
I want to do this, but I rarely finish anything now. I can’t even think of a proper plot! Maybe putting this out into the world will inspire myself or even someone else to give a fanfic a shot or at least expose this series to our fandom more (like when I found Dwarfina and blushed at every scene, despite not knowing a lick of Tagalog)!
The third movie pretty much just released, so I only see it (legally) able for streaming (via renting or buying) via Vudu and Amazon Prime Video (in the U.S.). It maybe more widespread in Germany where it was made. (Though, VPNs do exist…) But the first and second movies can be bought or rented from multiple sources, surely.
In any case, let me know what y’all think, and feel free to share your thoughts!

Chapter 1 - The Long Haul
Exodus
Chapter 2 - Here
Word count: 2k
Tumblr media
Moon Yuri loves train rides and sitting for long durations of time, which is why the trip to Oakwood College was a blessing in disguise to the girl who hadn’t had a wink of sleep for the past few weeks because her acceptance letter happened to have lost its way in the mail and only got to her a week before admissions ended. She had approximately two weeks to submit her application, pack up and leave everything behind her. The easiest part was actually the last thing, which she did with no hesitations.
Oakwood College has been her dream school since freshmen year when she came across an ad posted on their billboard for the seniors. They offer the best courses in the country, and that wasn’t even the best thing yet: it was being away from home. Yuri’s legs felt like jelly when she read the acceptance letter. She thought for sure she hadn’t gotten in. But, miracles proved to be true and now as she sat on the train to her new school, she couldn’t help but smile to herself.
“Sorry, is this seat taken? Everywhere else is taken,” a voice disrupts her train of thoughts.
Yuri looks up to see a girl with long dark hair, her locks are clipped to the side and she wore a soft smile on her face.
“Of course,” Yuri gestured to the seat next to hers and the girl beamed before setting her things down and taking a seat. “I’m Jeong Seoyun. Are you attending Oakwood too?” the girl pointed at the school sticker Yuri had smacked onto her suitcase. She smiled, “Yeah! Nice to meet you, Seoyun. I’m Moon Yuri,”
“Sophomore?”
“Yeah, you?”
“Ditto. No one really moves during sophomore year. Well, except some. But, what’s your reason… if you don’t mind?” Seoyun had a vibe to her that Yuri couldn’t explain. She was warm, but cool at the same time. She felt like autumn. “I didn’t receive my letter last year. Oakwood contacted me two weeks ago asking why I didn’t enroll,” Yuri explained.
Seoyun looked perplexed. “You must have outstanding grades, then. Oakwoods doesn’t even respond to emails, let alone make them to personally contact people,” The two laugh and Yuri denied the compliment. In her old school, there was nothing else to focus on but studies. Which is how she managed to become the top in all her subjects, and graduated as valedictorian.
“What do you major in?” the girl relaxed her back against the seat. “Film,” Yuri answered. Seoyun nodded.
“That’s really cool. I know someone from that department. I take up nursing. Sounds boring, I know,”
“No way, that sounds awesome. I wouldn’t survive one semester in that course, though. Can’t handle blood and needles at all,” Yuri sniggered and Seoyun cracked into a smile. “Thanks. And that’s too bad, I hope you’ll be okay during vaccination day,”
“What now?”
“Vaccination day. Oakwood requires them once a year,”
Yuri looked at Seoyun with eminent fear written on her face and the girl burst into laughter. “I’m kidding! You should’ve seen your face, Moon Yuri. Hilarious,” Seoyun points at Yuri who’d taken a relieved breath.
The two spend the next two hours of the train ride talking and joking about and Yuri has never been happier to have found a new friend already.
Tumblr media
“Which building are you in? If you’re in Beverly then we could go together since that’s where I room,” Yuri and Seoyun had gotten off the train and were now walking to the front gates of what would be called their home away from home for the next three years. “I got assigned to Athena, actually… is that far from Beverly?” Yuri pouted. She already didn’t want to be separated from her friend.
“That’s right next to Beverly!”
Yuri follows Seoyun into the large campus and they walk the path along the field and several school buildings until they finally reach their respective dorm houses. “Here’s Beverly and… over there, is your home sweet home,” Seoyun points to the similar looking building beside the one they stood in front of. The two exchange numbers and Yuri thanks Seoyun for accompanying her. She takes her bags and walks up to the now terrifying looking building. It was only scary because now, she had to face it alone.
But according to the dean, when she’d spoken to her on the phone, Yuri’s roommate wouldn’t be arriving until second semester due to some personal business. Which is why Yuri was grateful and relieved to have met Seoyun.
She carries her suitcase up the flight of stairs and looked around to look for her room. To her delight, she finds it right away, right by the stairs. Yuri took the key in her pocket and unlocked the room, revealing a fairly spacious room complete with two beds, two dressers and a closet for each person. In the middle of the room, was a door to the terrace.
She takes the bed on the right, and puts her stuff down to unpack.
Tumblr media
Yuri was just about done unpacking when her phone buzzed in her pocket. She takes it out and reads the message she received from her dad.
Hi, pumpkin. How is college life so far?
Barely started, just moved in.
Knew you’d fit right in! Goodluck, kiddo.
Yuri rolled her eyes and scoffed at her dad’s half-assed text, throwing her phone to her bed and putting her last set of clothes into the closet and sliding the suitcase underneath her bed. Three knocks sounded from the door and Seoyun’s head pops in before Yuri could say come in.
“Hey, newbie. All settled in, I see,” Seoyun makes her way inside and Yuri spots a girl behind her. “This is Lee Minjae, my roommate,” Seoyun gestures to the stranger who had her eyes glued to her phone, typing rapidly. “Hi! Yuri, right? It’s nice to meet you,” Minjae was busy with her phone, but she shot a Yuri a small smile, which the girl returned. “Likewise, Minjae,”
“I see you took Yeeun’s old room,” Seoyun played with the curtains of the windows with her fingers before taking a seat on the edge of Yuri’s bed.
“Oh you know my roommate? The dean said she’d be here next sem,” Yuri shut her closet door and the two girls behind her exchanged looks. “The dean said that?” Minjae asked, suddenly not interested in her phone. “Yeah,” Yuri assured. “Do you know her?”
“She’s a close friend,” was all Minjae says. Yuri nods, placing her hands on either side of her hips.
“Hungry?” Seoyun deliberately changes the subject. Both Minjae and Yuri nod and the three girls pile out of the room and down the stairs, on their way to the dining hall.
The sun was just setting and you can see it from where the three girls walked. But Yuri couldn’t enjoy the view of it, when a rogue soccer ball came hurling straight at her head from out of nowhere followed by the indistinct yelling of boys, presumably the ones responsible for it.
“Omg, Yuri! Are you okay?” Seoyun and Minjae’s concerned faces is all Yuri can see from where she lie on the ground. “Don’t worry,” Yuri managed to say through the pain. “I’ll live,”
Amidst the chaos, Yuri could hear the voice of a man. “I am so sorry. Renjun’s a complete jackass and can’t play soccer for shit-“
“Don’t blame this on Renjun now,”
“Jesus, Seoyun. Sorry your boyfriend couldn’t play for shit,” the voice spoke again.
Yuri closes her eyes, trying to get her world to stop spinning, before she’s pulled up from the ground by an impressively great strength. “Wow, Seoyun you’re strong,” she commented on it, truly believing Seoyun could pull her up so easily, but she was wrong. When she opens her eyes once more, it wasn’t in fact Seoyun, but a boy with dark hair and an encaptivating smile.
“I’m not Seoyun, but thank you,” he chuckled. Yuri rubbed her temples, groaning at herself. “Sorry. I really thought-“ she can’t continue her sentence as she couldn’t help but laugh at herself.
“I’m Jeno, what’s your name?” the boy introduces himself.
“Yuri,” she  responds. “My name is Yuri,”
“The name’s just as pretty as the person,” Jeno comments and Yuri feels heat rushing to her cheeks. The boy laughs, finding Yuri getting flustered an amusing sight. Behind him, another boy had come rushing in, apologizing profusely. “Are you alright? I’m really sorry, Jeno told me to just kick and I did,” the boy who Yuri guessed was named Renjun came into her view as he pushed Jeno out of the way.
“I’m fine! Don’t worry,” Yuri laughs it off, despite feeling the beating of her heart through her head, which to her knowledge, isn’t supposed to happen, but she didn’t want to be dramatic in front of these new people. Renjun gives her a smile, before turning to Seoyun behind him and placing his arms around her shoulder. “And how are you, my princess?” he cooed.
“Ugh, get a room. Come on, Yuri. You’re fine, yeah? Jeno go take your ball and leave!” Minjae scowls at the boy who raises his hand in defeat. “Yes, coach,” he joked. Jeno shoots Yuri a wink before jogging off, making sure to drag Renjun with him which left the girls to continue their disrupted plan to eat.
Tumblr media
“Listen, Yuri. Don’t get yourself tangled up with Lee Jeno now. He’s big trouble,” Seoyun says, linking arms with Yuri who was just finishing up a juicebox. “Why not?” Yuri gulped, too shy to admit she found him a bit cute. “Trust me. He’ll make you feel like you’re on top of the world, then leave you to fall face flat to the ground once it becomes too much for him,” explained Seoyun. “That sounds awfully detailed, Seoyun,” Yuri inspected Seoyun’s face in the moonlight. She looked stunning, her long dark hair framed her features well and her lips were always curled into a smile. Yuri’s eyes flew to Minjae, who was once again glued to her phone. Her hair fell over her face, which was illuminated by the light from her phone.
“Oh shut up, Yuri. Me and Jeno? No way! I’ve just seen it happen to countless of girls,”
Yuri made sure to make a mental note of Seoyun’s advice.
Tumblr media
The next day, Yuri was surprised to find out that she could no longer go on her social media and that the college apparently modified the Wi-Fi settings in which the students needed a certain password only given to teachers, to access any site they wanted. She discovers this when her Instagram stops loading as she had her cereal with Minjae and Seoyun.
“How about on weekends? Do they… remodify it then?” Yuri asked, desperation in her voice. Seoyun shook her head no, “Don’t worry, we got that covered,” she had a sly grin on her face. Yuri couldn’t ask any further questions as Seoyun got up to put her tray away. Minjae yawned, she barely touched her food.
“What she means is… every weekend, we go to Hyebin’s house and get our mental check there. Y’know, use the Wi-Fi and shit,” Minjae explained to the dumbfounded girl. “We’ll introduce you to Hyebin, she’s cool,”
Yuri nodded, the information still not sinking in. Probably because she didn’t have the best sleep last night. A new place and knowing the next day would be her actual first day in the college of her dreams, it made Yuri restless and toss and turn. Which is why she faced the living hell torture of trying to keep her eyes open during a 2 hour lecture on what is supposed to be her favorite subject; cinematography.
Coffee. Why didn’t I drink damn coffee? She thought to herself, and as if someone had been reading her mind, Yuri felt something warm brush up against her fingers. She opens her eyes and lift her head to see a cup of coffee. She looked beside her, and take notice of the boy she was too sleepy to acknowledge when she got in. After a few moments of Yuri just looking at him, he gets closer and whispers.
“Drink up, you look like you need it more than me,” he smiles, and his smile alone was enough to wake every fiber in Yuri’s body. She raises the cup to her lips and took a sip. And who could you be?

Hellfire
I posted this on AO3 but decided it should be posted here... not really happy with this for my first work in the Pitch Perfect fandom… haha. Sorry if you read this shitshow - i feel for you. x ☁️
“Freedom!” Fat Amy screamed after crashing through the transparent ceiling and spraying her father with a fire extinguisher.
Amongst the chaos of glass and smoke, Chloe grabbed Emily’s hand protectively and reached for Beca,
“Chloe, jump!” Beca ushered the ginger towards away from the danger, “I’ll catch up to you!”
“I’m not leaving you!”
Chloe’s look of fear tugged at Beca’s heartstrings. Here she was, saving her friends and girlfriend from being kidnapped by Australians. It couldn’t get any better than this.
“I said I’d catch up!”
This time Emily interjected, “We’re not going anywhere!”
A couple of years ago, Beca wouldn’t care what Emily said. But now the girl had become part of their random, weird, nerdy family and even though Beca refused to admit it to anyone but Chloe, she’d become very fond of the legacy and had this maternal instinct to protect her.
______________
“I don’t know Chlo,” Beca was curled up in Choe’s arms, resting her head in the crook of Chloe’s neck whilst the taller girl threw her phone onto the duvet. “I just feel like she’s growing up too fast.”
Chloe ran her hands through her girlfriend’s hair, “You should be pleased; Emily is leading the Bellas!”
“I am, I just feel like we didn’t teach her enough.”
“Teach her enough about what?”
“The male species.”
Chloe scoffed at Beca’s statement.
“What would we know about men, babe?” She pressed a quick kiss to Beca’s forehead, “Besides, Benji’s a good dude, he’ll look after her.”
As if on cue, Fat Amy Winehouse appeared from behind the clothes rack.
“Oh my god, you guys are so cheesy. Get a room!”
“There’s 3 of us living in a New York apartment; we don’t have a room to spare.” Beca deadpanned.
“That’s what they all say.” Amy whispered, “And if we don’t have another room, why don’t you guys get second jobs?”
Chloe put a hand on Beca’s shoulder, “Why don’t you get a job?”
Amy strutted into their tiny kitchen, fixing her wig in the mirror before pulling a cookie from one of the tins.
“I’m too good for manual labour. They wouldn’t know what to do with all of this .” Amy gestured to herself obnoxiously, crumbs falling carelessly onto the floor.
“All of that?”
“What were you lesbians talking about anyway?” Amy changed the subject.
“Beca doesn’t feel like we taught Emily enough. She’s worried.”
“I would be too, Legacy’s like the dumbest kid I know.”
“She’s gonna be fine, Bec.” Chloe changed the subject swiftly, “besides, I think you’d be a pretty cool mom.”
Beca’s eyes widened, “We weren’t even talking about that!”
Amy and Chloe looked at Beca bluntly.
“Be real Beca, we all know you and Chloe are like her parents.” Beca put a finger up in objection, “And don’t even try to deny it! Remember when she went on that first date with Benji?” Amy lowered her voice and scowled, clearly mimicking Beca, “Be back before 10 and have fun. But not too much fun.”
“We weren’t that bad.” Beca looked up at Chloe, “Were we?”
“No, No. Of course not.” Chloe reassured herself.
________________
The fond memory was brief and quickly ended when fat Amy’s fire extinguisher started running out of smoke.
“I love you!” Beca pushed Chloe and Emily back and ran towards Amy, “We have to go!”
Beca grabbed Amy’s forearm and pulled her to the back of the Yacht, feeling a weight lift from her shoulders after seeing Emily and Chloe jump.
Unexpectedly, Beca felt her back being coated with heat, it was like being in an oven.
“What did you do?!” She screamed to Amy,
“I blew it up, bitch!”
Beca clutched Amy’s forearm with both hands as the force from the explosion pushed them over the side. Beca could feel the excess flames tugging at her shirt and scolding her shoulders.
“Emily?!” Chloe screamed once she broke the water,
“Chloe? Chloe, I'm here!”
Without thinking, Chloe swam over in Emily’s direction, snaking her hand around Emily’s back to keep her afloat.
The younger girl was trembling, “Where’s Beca?”
“I don’t-” Chloe turned to face the Yacht and screamed. The first thing she saw was Beca and Amy’s silhouettes against a raging ball of fire and flame. Beca seemed terrified, she flailed her arm around whilst clutching onto fat Amy, who somehow managed to collide with a boat before hitting the water. “Beca!”
Passing Emily to Aubrey, Chloe swam over to the crash site. Her heart jumped but immediately sank as Amy broke through the water barrier, leaving Beca missing.
“I REIGNED HELLFIRE!” Fat Amy screamed at the top of her lungs.
“Beca?”
“Jesus, Chloe. You’re ruining my moment.” Amy stopped when seeing Chloe’s face, “Beca hasn’t come back up?”
“She’s still down there.” Chloe trembled and pushed through the surface of the water like it was a ball pit, “Help me look!”
Amy scanned the horizon, “Chloe! Help me lift the boat!”
The best friend and the girlfriend swam towards the tiny wooden boat which Beca and Amy bought with them, and Chloe’s heart sank as she noticed a scorched section of cloth barely clutching the side.
Beca was never a strong swimmer, and Chloe didn’t know what she would do if they never found her. She figured she’d demand every ocean to be drained so they could locate any remains of a body. God knows how that would work, but Chloe Beale would make it happen.
“Beca?”
To Amy, Chloe sounded like a broken record, but that was understandable. However, the ginger was pretty useless when it came to lifting boats.
“Beca!”
Amy held the boat high enough for Chloe to pull a shaking and sputtering Beca into her arms.
“Are you alright?” Chloe held her girlfriend like her life depended on it and choked back a sob as Beca clutched her shirt.
“I could be better.”
Chloe pulled Beca closer, “I was so fucking worried.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard you swear before.” The smaller girl murmured.
“Well then, that proves something.”
Beca wiped the streaking tear from Chloe’s cheek and kissed her lightly, it wasn’t much, but it was meaningful. Beca probably didn’t have much breath left, and Chloe wasn’t the only worried one.
“Beca! Chloe!”
The pair looked in the shouting direction to see Emily breaking away from Aubrey’s hold before proceeding to swim over to them as the remaining yacht debris fell to a standstill.
Chloe and Beca parted, allowing Emily to swim into their hug,
“You really scared me,”
Chloe pulled her close, “Sorry, kiddo.”
The found family floated amongst the chaos. As the helicopters swirled like vultures above them, no words needed to be said, it was just them . And Chloe was so thankful for that.

Becoming A Stark? (11) Peter Parker x Stark! femReader
Word Count- 1906
Warning- Swearing
Chapter One || Previous Chapter || Master List
“Boss, Y/N has jumped in the shower with water on only hot.” Not the weirdest thing you’ve done since moving in but apparently weird enough that FRIDAY felt the need to tell him.
“Turn the water to her normal preference so she doesn’t scold herself.” He says, turning back to tinker with the machine in front of him.
“Boss she manually changed it back and told me not to ‘F with it again you piece of S AI’ direct quote boss.” That does sound a bit like what you would say but not to the AIs you’ve lived with. It’s still fall outside, and honestly feels more like summer so a hot shower makes little sense. A cold one sure, but burning? Especially with how hot the water at the tower goes? Maybe tinker time needs a pause and teenage time needs to start.
“FRIDAY what is her blood sugar right now?”
“375 and rising.” Well that might have something to do with everything. So he decides to wait in the kitchen for Y/N to get out of the shower. You come down stairs wearing a black shirt that says ‘Will Commit Sins For Sushi’, some athletic shorts and he’s happy to see your pump clipped on.
“How was school today?” He decides not to start with the blood sugar questions.
“I ripped my fucking site off and didn’t have back up supplies if that’s what you wanted to know.” You mumble as you go looking for some water.
“Why didn’t you call me? Or Happy?”
“So you can drive an hour round trip, pass.”
“Only takes about fifteen minutes to fly there. Medical emergencies trump any tinkering I might have been doing.”
“Why would you fly ther-“ you realize what he means. “Iron Man is not bring me my pump supplies.”
“If Spider-Man can be the friendly neighborhood crime fighter why can’t I?”
“You wouldn’t be fighting crime. You’d be pulling the over protective card.”
“I’d be saving your life.”
“It was only ripped out for the last two periods.”
“But with your commute that’s over three hours without insulin.”
“Hence why I took an injection and a fucking hot shower that your AI tried to fuck up.”
“Why hot?”
“Helps the insulin circulate faster.”
“Anything else that helps it come down?”
“Water and movement.”
“So I’m hearing we need a dance party.”
“What?”
“FRIDAY turn on Y/N playlist Tony Stark Can Rot.”
“How do you know my playlists?” You ask as Under Pressure by Queen starts playing.
“No time for questions. Only time for dancing.” Your dad says as he pulls you to a standing position. “Come on.” He smiles and sings along with the classic and you can’t help but move your hips with the beat you love. “Watching some good friends scream,”
“Let me out!” You scream sing along. You may feel like shit, but you can’t hate this dance party. You and Tony make it through Minority by Green Day, Back in Black by AC/DC, and Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash before your arrow finally points downward on Wallace.
“Even though I may not agree with the title of said playlist, you do have some good music on it.” Tony says as the two of you plop down on the couch.
“So my subpar music education isn’t the worst is what I’m hearing.”
“I’m just saying there is some AC/DC and some Black Sabbath, so I can allow you to listen to it.”
“How would you know what music is on my playlists unless you listened to it?” You ask, leaning against his arm.
“Because after you waltz around my house in Rolling Stones shirts I needed to make sure your music education wasn’t too badly screwed up.” He explains as if it’s no big deal.
“You could have just asked what else I like listening to.”
“Oh no, hearing your playlist names was much more fun.”
“And I bet you’re the boring person who just puts the date or something like that.” You tease him.
“So what if I do? I know which one is the more recent one.”
“That’s so boring.” You turn to sit on the couch so your legs are hanging over the back of the couch.
“Why do you kids sit like rules don’t apply?” Tony asks, thinking back to how Peter literally walked up the walls the other day while he was pacing before sitting on the ceiling the other day.
“Excuse me?”
“I’m just saying, there’s a proper way to sit on a couch and it’s not with your feet up here.” He taps your feet, not explaining where his mind actually went. Keeping Peter’s powers a secret from you was a priority for him. You knew too many superheroes so far. But seeing as you seem to be determined to be friends with Spider-Man’s alter-ego, he was determined to keep you from the superhero side of things. The elevator pings and Pepper walks into the living room.
“Like father, like daughter I see.” She smirks as she sees you sitting upside down on the couch.
“What was that about a proper way to sit on a couch Dad?” You ask as the blood rushes to your head.
“No idea.” He gets up to greet Pepper, who rolls her eyes at his antics. “How are all the plans for moving day coming?”
“You would know if you attended the meetings you were supposed to attend now wouldn’t you?” Pepper reprimands him. “But everything is going the way it should. We just need to decide if we’re going to stay at the compound or if we want to find a different place in the city.”
“Wait we’re moving?” You flip over, finally hearing what they’re talking about.
“Well the tower is going to become a part of SI so it wouldn’t make sense for us to live here. So we’re between either moving to the Compound or finding a new place in Manhattan.”
“And you weren’t going to tell me that you were going to move me again?” You ask in disbelief.
“I could have sworn I mentioned it to you.” Tony says apologetically. “Do you want to place a vote on where we move to?”
“You’re incorrigible.” You say as you move out of the living room and towards your room that apparently won’t be yours for much longer.
“You said you were going to talk to her.” Pepper says looking at Tony. “You promised.”
“I was going to, but then her blood sugar was all out of whack and I was focusing on that and I lost track of time.” Tony tries to explain, but Pepper’s eyes see more than that. He had been avoiding it.
“Go talk to her.” Pepper pushes him towards where you just stormed off towards.
“Can’t I wait until she’s in range?”
“And have her be more mad at you? Absolutely not.” Pepper gives him another push. “Go talk to your daughter.”
You pull the quilt around your shoulders as you face the wall. You were finally getting comfortable living in the tower and you’re going to have to move again. If you move to the compound, there goes all your friends and your school. Tony probably will pick moving closer to his precious Avengers so you’re just going to have to suck up the fact that he’s going to uproot your entire life again. You feel the tears running down your cheek before you even realize you’re crying. Fuck high blood sugars. You’re not that upset about this whole thing, but with your stupid sugars all out of whack you can’t control anything it seems.
“Hey kiddo?” Your dad’s voice comes from the door, but you don’t say anything but pull the quilt tighter around you. “Kiddo, I need you to talk to me.”
“Fuck you.” You mumble from under your blankets.
“Ok I will give you that. You did talk to me. And I’m sorry I didn’t mention moving sooner, but honestly, it slipped my mind.” His hand falls to rest on your back on top of the quilt.
“Don’t touch me.” You say sharply, pulling away from him.
“Ok, I’m sorry.” He looks at the pile of blankets in front of him. He feels so lost. All he wants to do is go back to you lying upside down on the couch a few moments earlier. “What can I do to fix this?”
“Let me go back to Nana and Pops. Let everything go back to normal.” You mumble.
“Besides that.” He waits for something, anything to leave your mouth, but nothing does.”I’ll order you all the vegetarian sushi that New York has?” He waits for a reaction, but hears nothing except maybe sniffles. Did he make you cry? God he’s failing worse than he thought as a father. Guess he needs to take a different approach. “We don’t even have to leave Manhattan. Or we can move out to Queens. Maybe get a brownstone or something so you don’t have to go as far for school. I can add a lab anywhere. And Pep will be wherever we are so that doesn’t change.” The covers flap over.
“You aren’t going to just automatically choose moving to the compound?” He wants to push the hairs that are covering your forehead away, but after you got so upset the last time he touched you, he decides against it.
“Why do you think I would do that?”
“Because you would want to be with Avengers.”
“Pssssh. They can handle themselves. Right now I need to focus on my family. And that’s you and that’s Pep. Anyone else can take a number and wait their turn.” You stare him down, like you’re trying to decide if that’s true or not. But after a moment you throw your arms around him. It takes a second but his arms wrap around you and hold you to him. One of his arms wrap around your waist and the other rises up to smooth down your hair. “Plus if we move to Queens, I could just walk over to your school when you rip a site out. Wouldn’t even need the Iron Man suit.”
“Like you would give up the chance to wear the Iron Man suit.” You mumble into his shoulder.
“She’s right. You wear that suit all the times you can.” Pepper says from the doorway. “So are we moving to Queens?”
“Are you okay with moving to Queens?” Tony asks.
“If it keeps everyone in this family from fighting, yes.” Pepper says with a smile.
“Spider-Man might think you’re encroaching on his turf.” You mention.
“I think he and I can come to an agreement.” Tony says with a smile that you don’t understand.
“Right, like you know Spider-Man.” You say rolling your eyes. “He’s way too cool for you.” If only you knew, Tony can’t help but think to himself.
“I think Spider-Man and I would be great friends, I’ll have you know.”
“You’re too old to be friends with him. He’d yell yeet before throwing you off a building.”
“Maybe Steve. But I think Spider-Man and I would be on the same team.”
“Doubtful. Now someone promised me sushi, and you already made me cry once today, so...” You say looking at your father.
“Sushi it is.” He says, before placing a kiss on your forehead.

Fresh Start
A story about Sally Williams finding a new home with an- odd pair of men. Fun fact but I’ve rewritten this story twice because I couldn’t decide on how to write this- I wanted it to be as good as possible and I think I’m happy with this version.
Word count: 1651
Laughing Jack hummed softly to himself as he quietly played his accordion. He had no song in mind, it was just aimless chords without meaning. It was dark now, the sun had gone down, and there was nobody in the park save for some teens or late night joggers.
Looking down at his accordion, he realised someone was watching him. He looked to the side to meet the bright, green eyes watching him. The eyes belonged to a girl, who could only be about ten years old, wearing a pink dress. She had messy brown hair that fell in curls just past her shoulders. He smiled at her.
"Well 'ello there." He greeted. "Can I 'elp ya, kiddo?"
"...I like your music." She said softly. He smiled and tilted his head.
"I recognize ya," he said. "Weren' you wiv th' other kids earlier, when I was givin' ou' balloons?"
She nodded and held up the balloon dog Jack had made for her earlier. She smiled, just a little bit. He chuckled.
"Wha're ye doin' down 'ere so la'e, Sally? Shouldn' ye be a' 'ome wiv yer ma an' da?" He asked. Sally's smile dropped and she looked at the ground. Jack frowned. "...'ave ya...go' a ma an' da?"
Sally sniffled. Jack watched tears fall from her eyes. He scooted up the bench and patted the space next to him. "Ey, i's alrigh', come ta Jackie." He said softly. Sally climbed onto the bench next to him, holding her balloon animal and an old stuffed bear. She hugged both of them tight as she cried quietly. Jack wrapped an arm around the girl and pet her head. "Shh, i's alrigh', Jackie's 'ere."
Sally snuggled close against him, her crying getting louder. The clown hugged her tight, rubbing circles into her back. The poor girl- she felt deathly cold, and so small- though that could've just been that Jack was very tall.
Sally buried her face in Jack's shirt. He smelled of lavender and the rain. The smell was a small comfort. As she cried Jack could only watch in horror as a bloody gash formed in her head. Blood trickled down her face and through her beautiful brown hair. He reached into his puffy sleeve and pulled out a rag. He wiped blood from her face the best he could.
Sally probably wasn't human like he'd initially thought.
"Do ya 'ave anywhere ta go, kiddo?" He asked softly.
"I-I can go h-home but- my mo- my mom and d-dad moved aw-away." She managed to say in between sobs. Jack nodded slowly. "The n-ne-new people c-call me sc-scary." Her sobbing got more intense as she spoke. Jack hugged her tighter.
"Well tha's no' very nice…" He murmured. He stared down at her. He couldn't just leave this girl alone. Human or not, it wasn't right to leave a child alone in a park all night and day. It went against the very reason he existed. "E-Ey kiddo, 'ow abou' ye stay wiv me fer t'night?" He asked. Sally sniffled and looked up at him. "Wouldja like tha'?"
"Okay." She replied oh so softly. Her voice was barely above a whisper. Jack scooped her up into his arms and held her close. He adjusted the strap on his accordion so it hung off his back rather than front, and stood up.
"Ya like piggy-back rides?" He asked with a small grin. Sally seemed to brighten up a bit. She nodded, and Jack lifted her up onto his shoulders. "Now ya can see th' whole park." He chirped. Sally sniffled and grinned down at the clown.
                                                       ××××××
"Jack? Where are we going?" Sally asked. Jack had walked halfway across town and was now casually sauntering through a building site near the edge of the forest.
"Hm? Oh! I live in th' woods, wiv a frien'." Jack smiled up at her.
"A friend?"
"Yeh! 'Is name's Slender. 'E's a bi' grumpy, bu' you'll like 'im." Jack replied. "Don' tell 'im I said this, bu' 'e 'as a sof' spo' fer kids."
Sally looked down at the clown curiously. "Will he like me?" She asked.
"Will 'e like ya?" He asked incredulously. "Of course 'e will! Slen loves kiddos, almos' as much as I do." Jack grinned up at her. "Th' two of us are gonna be fussin' over ya nigh' an’ day."
He made his way deep into the forest, with Sally clinging close to him. Jack patted her head reassuringly. Poor thing- he could tell why she'd be scared, being taken into the woods by someone she didn't know well after...well he didn't exactly know what had happened to her, but he knew it couldn't be good. Luckily, they soon came upon a clearing. Sitting in the middle of it was a large house. It was practically a castle to Sally.
"Tha's our gaf." Jack said, pointing.
"It's so big…" Sally murmured. Jack smiled.
"Sure is! Plen'y o' room fer ya t' run aroun'." He chirped. He walked to the door and opened it. Stepping inside, Sally stared around the giant living room. There was a couch, a couple armchairs, a very primitive tv, even by 70s standards and...well, not much else. The house seemed to be empty.
"Slen, I'm 'ome." Jack called out as he walked towards a door next to the couch.. He grabbed Sally from his shoulders and held her against his chest instead as he opened the door. The girl looked around quickly, green eyes shining curiously.
"Oh, Ja-" standing in the kitchen was a tall man in a suit. His skin was completely white, and his proportions were so unnatural- his arms and legs were far too long for anyone to realistically have. The thing that freaked Sally out the most, however, was his face, or rather- his lack of one. Sally clung tighter to Jack, staring in horror as this monster in front of her stared right back. In a movement too smooth and quick for any person, he crossed the room. "Jack, who is that?"
"This is Sally! Ain't she a righ' cu'e basin o' gravy?" Jack chirped back, adjusting his hold on Sally.
"Jack, you can't just take random children! Especially here! Now she'll know about everyone living in these woods and tell all the other children and-" Slender's angry and panicked rant was cut off by Jack extending an arm and placing his index finger where Slender's lips would be.
"Cool i', china pla'e. I didn' 'alf inch 'er because she's cu'e, if ye're finkin' tha'." Jack replied. His accent seemed to thicken while talking to Slender. "She 'asn't go' anywhere ta go. 'Er ma an' da are gone."
Slender was quiet for a few moments before sighing. He rubbed his featureless face in irritation. "Alright, alright…" He looked from Jack to Sally. He tilted his head at her. "Well- hello Sally, I suppose you're staying with us for now." He said, softer this time. Sally still flinched away from him.
"Ah, don' be scared o' 'im, Slen wouldn' 'ur' a 'air on yer 'ead." Jack said, rubbing Sally's back soothingly. He grinned at his friend. "Ain' tha' righ', Slen?"
Slender seemed to become distressed for a moment and he stepped away from Jack and Sally. "Oh I'm- I'm sorry I should've assumed you'd be scared...I always forget about that-" he glanced away nervously for a moment. He held out a hand to Sally. "I'm Slender. It's a pleasure to meet you, little one. I- apologize for the bad first impression, Jack can be...impulsive, at times."
Jack muttered something to himself and rolled his eyes. Sally looked at him and smiled, then at Slender's hand. She hesitated, then reached out to shake it. Her entire hand was barely bigger than Slender's palm. After she pulled away from the handshake she heard Jack chuckle, and she looked up at the clown.
"Ye okay, Slen?"
"Small…"
Jack barked a laugh and reached out, patting Slender's shoulder. "Ye big softie." He murmured affectionately. Slender shot him a look and adjusted his tie, trying to regain his composure. Sally giggled at the two of them.
"How old are you, dear?"
"Ten." Sally replied. Slender made an- odd- noise that made Jack snicker.
"God she's only a toddler-"
"Ten year ol's aren' toddlers, Slen." Laughing Jack said. Slender ignored him.
"Can we get you anything, Sally? A drink? Are you hungry?" He asked. Sally smiled shyly at all the attention. Sure her parents had treated her like a princess but this? This was the kind of fawning only a queen got.
"Toast would be nice." She said. "And- warm milk…?"
Slender, despite his lack of face, seemed to radiate happiness. "Of course!" He chirped maybe a bit too eagerly. He turned and quickly moved to the fridge, pulling out some bread and a carton of milk.
Sally watched him curiously as Jack moved to the dining table and took a seat. Sally was dropped into his lap. She looked up at him while he rubbed her cheek with the back of a finger. Sally hugged her bear and balloon animal as she looked around.
"Does anyone else live here?" She asked. Jack shook his head.
"Nah." He replied. "We've always wan'ed more though...lo'sa kiddos runnin' aroun' th' gaf, like a big ol' fam'ly." The clown smiled down at Sally.
"What's a gaf?" Sally asked. Jack wheezed in amusement.
"A 'gaf' is a house," Slender said. "I only understand him because I've known him too long." He added, nodding his head at the clown. Jack grinned at Slender.
"Ah, ye luv me." He said. Slender squinted at him.
"Well that's news to me."
Jack wheezed again, cackling loudly in amusement. Sally giggled in his lap. She liked these two, as strange as they were. Maybe- just maybe- this could be a fresh start. She'd like that.

Chapter 2: Sean And Daniel
Chapter 1
Mount Rainier, Washington
3 Days Later
I was walking down the quiet, deserted road, just minding my own business when I come up to an old sign:
Trout Spring Trail - Nisqually River viewpoint.
Oh, good. A place to sleep. I thought as I come up to an abandoned car. I walk over to it to look inside and see nothing really, except for a Choc-O-Crisp on the dashboard. Sweet! I mean, I still have a few bars left of this candy. But....you can never have too many! I thought as I dig in my pocket and pulled out and un-bent paperclip. I stick the paperclip into the keyhole of the car door and jiggle it for a few moments before it pops open.
Score! I thought as I open the door and grab the candy. "Hell, yeah." I mutter when I heard some voices coming. "Are we there yet?" A young boy's voice asks. "Dude. Stop! You know what, you're not allowed to say that...Ever again!" An older male voice exclaims, annoyed. "Yesssss...Sir." The young voice replied, defeated. "You'll be the first one to know when we get there, okay? I'm tired and hungry too!" The older voice said.
I turn around as the footsteps get closer. "Listen...This looks like a perfect place to camp out...I bet we're not the first people to stay the night." The older voice said as it grew closer and closer. "It's creepy! There's nobody out here...We didn't even see any cars!" The young voice said. "We're gonna camp here. I'll look out for you." The older voice said just as two figures walk up and I could see that it was two boys, one looked really young (probably about eight or nine) and the other looked about the same age as me. Both of them looked like they were Hispanic descent.
"Oh! Uh....hi." the older boy greets, awkwardly, to me as I look between him and the little boy. "Uh..hi. Sorry...you guys just scared the crap outta me." I said, alittle nervously. "I just...wasn't expecting anyone out here."
"Yeah...neither were we." The older boy said to me, still a little awkward. I run my right hand over the back of my neck as I asked. "Soooo....what are you two doing out here?"
"We're on a camping trip!" The little boy exclaims, excitedly. "Oh, really?" I said with intrigued. "By yourselves?" I asked him. "Yeah, but we're supposed to meet our dad later." The boy said and I happened to look over at the older boy and I could tell that he was hiding something. "Really? Well that's cool." I said as I look back over at the young boy.
"What about you? You seemed to be alone." The older boy pointed out and I chuckle. "Yeah....I am. It's just rarely do I see other kids out here alone. Usually they're with an adult." I said. "What about your parents? Aren't they worried?" The little boy asked me. "I..uh...don't have any parents. They gave me up for adoption. I've basically been on my own for awhile." I replied as I cross my arms. "Oh...I'm sorry." The older boy said and I wave my hand, vaguely, at him. "It's okay. People have tried to put me in foster care, but I always leave....I don't belong to those families. I'd rather go at it alone." I said.
"So...you're like a runaway, then." The older boy said and I smiled. "Yeah....I guess you could call me that." I said with a laugh. "How long have you guys been on your trip?" I asked them. "About two days." The older boy said. "Oh...so, you're just pups when it comes to this sort've thing." I chuckled as the older boy replies. "We're learning."
"Well, like he said, munchkin, this place is a good place to camp out. It's quiet, calm and beautiful and as long as you don't bother the wilderness, you should be good." I said to the younger boy as I gesture towards the older boy. "Uh...thanks for the advice..uh..." the older boy stuttered and I smirk. "(Y/n). My name is (y/n)." I introduced. "I'm Sean. And this is my little brother, Daniel." Sean introduced. "Well, nice to meet you, Sean and Daniel." I said as I do a little bow at them, but I began to wander why those names sounded familiar. I feel like I should know but I can't remember.
I hear Daniel giggle a bit as I stand up straight then got an idea. "Hey, you seem a little hungry. I might have something in here...." I said as I pull my backpack off then dig inside it. "Ah, here they are." I said as I pull out a bar of Choc-O-Crisp. "A Choc-O-Crisp! No way! I haven't had one in like...a million years!" Daniel exclaims, excitedly, and I chuckle. "More like two days ago!" Sean said to him. "Well that's too long for you to go without one. Here, it's all yours, munchkin." I said as I hand the candy to him. "Wow! Really?! Thank you!" He exclaims with happiness and I smile at him. "No problem." I said as I put my backpack on.
"You better watch out, you just became his favorite person now." Sean said to me and I laugh. "Hey, I don't mind. He looked alittle hungry anyway." I said as Daniel opens up the wrapper and begins to eat it, like a starving man. "Wow, and I thought I was the addict when it comes to Choc-O-Crisp!" I said as he munched down on that candy. "Are you kidding?! He could wipe out an entire bag of those things!" Sean said and I look over at Daniel, impressed. "Wow, kiddo. That's impressive." I said as Daniel looks up at me and smiles.
"Well, I guess I better leave you two to your trip." I said to them. "Aww, you're leaving?" Daniel asked. "Yeah, I don't want to impose on a camping trip between two brothers. I'll just...be on my way." I said as I start to walk away. "Wait! Sean, she could come with us." Daniel said as I turn to face the brothers. "Hey, wait! You could...uh..stick around. We could use an expert's help." Sean said and I look over at him. "You sure?" I asked. "Yeah, plus it would be cool to have someone new to talk to." Sean said and I smiled. Normally, people don't want me around but these two do. "Okay...cool. Well then, I guess I'm joining your party then." I said, smiling, as Daniel shouts for joy.
I chuckled at this as we began to walk over to a tree with some marks on it. "What is that? Graffiti?" Daniel asked Sean and I as he points at the tree. "Not exactly...It's called a Trail Blaze and people used to put them up to give directions..." Sean replied to him and Daniel looks over at him. "Like GPS?" He asked. "Yeah...Just slightly more ancient." I replied. "Awesome! Let's follow it!" Daniel exclaimed and we start to walk into the forest.
"Come on, boys...The sun is going down..." I said as we started to come up to an old port house. "Okay, dude. Do you have to use the bathroom?" Sean asked as he points at the old shed. "No! It smells real bad..." Daniel said as he looks at the building at disgust. "No shit. Seriously? You better go now." Sean tells him. "I don't have to go! Jeez! Can't I just pee on a tree?" Daniel asked his brother. "As long as you don't mind the poison ivy on your balls!" Sean said to him.
"Uhhhh....Well...Maybe I'll go...But don't let me get stuck in there!" Daniel said to us. "Don't worry, we'll call the forest plumbers if you fall in." Sean said as Daniel gets inside the port-o-potty and started to use the toilet. "Yuck...This is disgusting! So gross! These are worse than the ones at school!" He exclaims, few minutes later, as he starts to walk out it. "Especially after you use it..." Sean teased and I chuckled at this. "You two are a mess." I muttered with a smile.
"Sean...(y/n)....Look how big these trees are..." Daniel pointed out as we walk deeper into the woods. "That's only because they need the sun. Besides, they'll protect us from the rain." I said to him. "What if they don't? What if they...a...attack us?" Daniel asked me, nervously.
"Aren't you Mr. Minecraft? I thought you loved the forest? I watched you build giant cities out of logs!" Sean said to him. "I did! I built the biggest cities ever! Ooo...I can use my axe to chop up some wood! Then we can build a secret base!" Daniel exclaims in excitement. "Well...Sounds like you're ready for the woods! Lead the way!" I laughed as Daniel runs ahead.
"Where are we going?" Daniel asked as we approached a direction sign that showed one way was towards the picnic are where the other leads to the river. "Hmm...The river must be a bit further..." I said as I look over the sign. "Yeah...Let's take a look around." Sean said and we reach an area where the path branches out, trees were scattered about and to the left was a picnic area.
"Wow...That place is huge!" Daniel said in awe. "Yeah, it's kinda cool." Sean said. "Yeah, this place is pretty epic." I said while Daniel walks up to some berries. "Hey guys! I found berries! Can I taste one, please?" He asked as he gets in front of the bush. "Hold on, munchkin. Let's check those out first." I said as Sean and I walked over to the bush. I check the berries, by tasting them, then nodded. "They're okay. Go ahead." I said and the boys begin to eat some. Daniel even tries to throw the last one into his mouth but he misses.
The path we take branches off to a small picnic area with some benches and a noticeboard. I run up to the board and read the wild animals poster. "Picnic and Hiking Site..." I read then look around just as Daniel walks up to me but Sean goes over to a bench and sits down as he looks out towards the river. "Well, I bet nobody comes out here to picnic anymore...and that's good for us..." I told Daniel as he looks up at the poster.
"No camping? Uh oh..." he said with worry. "Don't worry. Nobody is going to find us out here." I assured him while he continued to read the poster. "Do not feed...or disturb the animals? What...What kind of animals? Like bears...or coyotes...or..." Daniel said as he looks around, nervously. "More like...squirrels...rabbits...critters... like I said earlier...don't bug them and they won't bug us...They're way more scared of us than we are of them." I said as I place a hand on his shoulder, assuredly. "Unless they're angry...or hungry..." he said with worry. "Don't freak yourself out, munchkin. Everything will be fine. If anything, your brother and I will protect you." I said as I patted his shoulder and he smiles at me before he goes over to his brother.
"Whoaaaaaa..." Daniel said as he comes up behind his brother and sits next to him. I walk up next to the bench and look out at the river. "Look at that..." Daniel said. "Yeah..." Sean mutters. "So cool!" Daniel exclaims in excitment. "Never seen you get so jacked up over a nice view before..." Sean said to Daniel. "So? I've never seen anything like this! Never ever!" Daniel replied as he shakes his head.
"Never ever?!" I asked him. "No." Daniel replied and I smile. "Don't worry, Daniel. You'll be seeing more views like this when you're out on the road, trust me." I said as I sit down on the edge of the bench and Sean chuckles. "Yeah...I remember when... Dad..." he stops as he looks down at the ground and I frown at this.
"I wish Dad was here with us..." Daniel said, sadly. "Well... Thanks! Not cool enough anymore?" Sean asked him. "Yes, you're super cool...But...I just wish the family was together... at home...It'd be cool to watch a movie and get a pizza and eat ice cream." Daniel replied to him. "Oh, you're making me hungry." I groaned as I rubbed my stomach. "Yeah, dude...stop. Besides, I told you we have to keep going...We'll see Dad later...Right now it's just...you, me and (y/n)...Okay?" Sean said to him.
"Yeah! It's our park! We can do whatever we want!" Daniel exclaimed, excitedly. "That's right...So...we better go build a secret base...so we can hide out for the night...Are you ready?" I asked Daniel and he nods. "Yes! I can build anything! We just have to find some cool blocks around here...and be careful of Creepers..." he said and I laugh as Sean starts to get up and Daniel cups his mouth and shouts. "HELLOOOOOOOOOO DOWN THERE!"
I get up and walk over to Sean and look at him with concern. "Hey, you okay, Sean?" I asked him. "Huh? Oh uh....yeah. I'm fine." He replied. "You sure? You just seem...kinda...out of it." I said. "I'm fine. I promise." He replied. "Look, I know we just met and all but....if there's anything that's on your mind, I'm a good listener." I said as we walked out onto a big open section.
"Ooooo, Sean! (Y/n)! Let's play hide and seek!" Daniel exclaims as he runs over to us. "Betcha can't find me!" He said and I laugh then I look over at Sean. "Looks like your little brother challenged us." I said and he smiles as he rolls his eyes. "Yeah. Okay. We'll give you ten seconds to find a hiding spot and then you're toast!" Sean said to Daniel as he winks at him. "Turn around so I can hide. And don't look!" He said and Sean and I start to count on the spot, without covering our eyes.
"One..."
"Come on! You guys are cheating..." Daniel exclaims and I roll my eyes as Sean and I turn around and cover our eyes. "No peeking!" Daniel said, warningly, and we began to count again. "One...Two...Three...Four...Five...Six. Seven! Eight! Nine! Ten!" We said and we turn around to see no Daniel in sight. "Hmmm....you go this way and I'll go this way." Sean said to me and I nod at him and he goes to the right side of the forest and I go left.
It was a few minutes and we still haven't found Daniel, and I could tell Sean was alittle bothered by it. "Daniel!" He calls out as we look around. "Daniel!" Both of us exclaim then I got an idea. "Well...looks like I'm gonna be enjoying these Choc-O-Crisp all by myself." I called out and I swore I heard a noise in front of us.
Sean and I look towards the noise then I nod at him and he comes up to this large tree. I follow him and we see Daniel hiding behind a tree, his hands covering his face. We slowly come up behind him then we shout. "There you are!" And he jumps back in fright. "Aww, no fair! You guys were peeking!" He said. "Not when we could see your foot a mile away, dude! We win!" Sean said as I chuckle. "Whatever..." Daniel grumbles and we continue down the trail.
Eventually, we come across a raccoon sitting on a rock just off the trail. "Daniel! Come check this out!" Sean said as he points out the raccoon. "What? What?" Daniel asked, gleefully. "Be quiet...He'll take off." I said to him as he comes over to us. "Ooo...Raccoon! He's sooo cute!" Daniel said. "Hah. That raccoon will tear us apart. Let's go, bro." Sean said while Daniel has a face of disbelief and walks forward, but the raccoon scurries away.
"Here, kitty kitty! Aww, that raccoon must be starving..." Daniel said as he starts to walk along the edge of the path, looking for the raccoon. "Raccoons are way smarter than us...He'll find more food!" I said to him and we began to walk some more.
"Hey! There's another one here!" Daniel exclaims as he points at the trail blaze then I follow the trail. "Hey! I think this path leads to the river." I said to them. "Coming!" They said and we keep walking until we reach a fallen tree, even on the ground, it goes almost up to Daniel's shoulders. "Wow. That's one big tree!" Daniel said as Sean and I climb over it. "Come on. I'll help you climb up." Sean said as he places his hands under Daniel's arms. "You better not let me go!" Daniel said to him. "Would I do that to my little brother?" Sean asked as he picks him and helps Daniel over the tree trunk and sets him down next to me.
"Let's go!" Sean said as Daniel runs off and said. "We have to watch out for skeletons, and zombies!" I look over at Sean and said. "It's really cute how you help out your brother." Sean looks over at me in slight shock and I notice his face turned red. I wink at him then I continue forward until I hear a bird chirping and I see a bird's nest up in the tree.
"Hey! Daniel! You hear that?" I asked him as he runs over to me. "Is that a bird's nest?" He asked me. "Oh yeah. They're everywhere out here." I replied to him. "At least they have a home..." Daniel said in a sad tone. I frown at him as Sean said. "Come on...We're too big for a nest."
Sean, Daniel and I reach a ledge as tall as Sean and I, but he and I jump down. "Mmm, this is pretty high up..." Daniel said with worry. But Sean holds Daniel up and helps him to the ground. "Come on! I got you!" He said to Daniel as he sets him down on the ground. "Whew...Thanks!" Daniel said then they high-five each other. I smile at this as we continue onwards.
"Uuuuhh...You guys see that?" Daniel asked as he points out some weird mushrooms on a tree. "Looks like a Clicker...Creepy..." Daniel said then Sean makes a weird clicking noise from this video game I remember watching a playthrough of on the internet a few years ago. "Stop it!" Daniel laughed as he starts to run ahead. Sean and I continue down the path but as we turn around the corner, Daniel was nowhere to be found.
"Uh...Sean? Where's Daniel?" I asked and he starts to look around. "Daniel?" Sean calls out but nothing. "Daniel?!" I call out, again nothing. "C'mom, dude! This isn't funny!" Sean said as we start to come upon a tree. "Muhhhwaaahh! I got you!" Daniel exclaims after he pops out behind the tree, scaring Sean and I as we jumped back but I accidentally stumble into Sean's arms. He and I look at each other for a moment as Daniel laughs. "You got me, munchkin." I said, laughing, as I stand up. "Dude...You struck out. That did not scare me..." Sean said to his brother.
"Liar! Liar! I saw your face!" Daniel said, in a laughing tone. "That was...uh...surprise. Maybe you scared me for like...one second..." Sean said as he starts to walk ahead. "Ha! I got you, I eat you! Don't mess with the zombie!" Daniel said, smiling. "Well, I'd rather be bitten by a cute zombie than an ugly one." I said as I ruffle Daniel's hair, who looks up at me and smiles. "Oh God, he got to you too!" Sean grumbles but I could see he had a slight smile and I laugh at this. "Hey, didn't you know? Cute kids are great chick magnets!" I teased and Sean rolls his eyes as he continues on, Daniel and I follow him.
Finally, we reach the riverside where there's a large beach area and a rock formation, which was jutting out, offering shelter. "Ooo...Looks like a cave...Kind...Kind of spooky..." Daniel said, nervously, as we come upon the formation. "No. Actually...it's kind of perfect." I said as I look it over. "For what?" Daniel asked me. "For us, man." Sean replied.
"We're gonna stay in there?" Daniel asked as I looks at it, questionable. "I dunno..." he mutters. "Come on, Daniel." Sean said, exasperated, then he turns to me for help. "Look, this can be...our secret base!" I said to him as I place a hand on his shoulder. "Hmmmmmm. We...could fight off any Skeletons or Creepers with some good traps!" He said and Sean and I smile down at him
"Cool!" I said. "In that case, we definitely need to get a fire going first. Right?" Sean said and Daniel nodded. "Right! Yes! Uh...So what do we need?" Daniel asked. "Um...You know...Shit to make a fire." Sean said. "Twigs, branches, paper, if there's any around..." I added. "Are...you sure we can do this?" Daniel asked us. "Who can stop us?" Sean asked him and Daniel smiles. "Nobody!" Daniel said and he takes a step and looks back, Sean nods at him and then Daniel runs off towards the beach.
"Okay...Let's unpack." I said to Sean as we set our backpack down. "Finally." Sean mutters as both of us take out our blankets from our bags. Sean lays his blanket on the ground under the cave and I lay mine on the other side of the small firepit, across from Sean's blanket.
Next, Sean takes out a newspaper clipping and looks at in disbelief. "What's that?" I asked him, after I walk up behind him, and he looks up at me in shock. "Uh...uh..well...." he stammers but I could clearly read the headline on the paper and my eyes widen. Now I know why their names sounded familiar.
Shooting in South Seattle
"Sooo....you're the Diaz brothers." I said and Sean looks at me in fear. "Yeah, I know about it. I passed by that area about a couple of days ago, sometime in the evening, and people were talking about it. I even saw it on the news the next morning when I went and ate breakfast. " I informed him and he looks down. "You're not going to say anything to him, are you?" Sean asked me and I give him a quizzical look then I realized what he was referring to.
"Does Daniel not know?!" I asked him. Before Sean could say anything, Daniel shouts. "Guys, check it out! I already got one branch for the fire!" We jumped and look out to see him picking up the branches. Sean crumples the newspaper clipping up and puts it in the fire-pit as kindling.
"Coming!" Sean shouts then he turns to me and grabs my arm. "Please don't tell him." He pleads. "Sean, I promise I won't tell him. I understand where you're coming from but....you need to tell him." I whispered. "I know, I know. It's just...I'm trying to find the right time." Sean said to me and I nod at him. "Yeah, I understand. That kind've stuff is hard. But I do want to say, I am sorry about your dad, Sean. I...I couldn't imagine going through that and..." I stop then sigh at this before I continued. "I know I'm basically a stranger to you and your brother but if you feel like talking just come to me." I said and Sean nods as he let's go of my arm. "Thanks, (y/n)." He said then he covers the pit with logs and dirt. "No problem." I said.
"Hey, guys. Let's have a race! Whoever finds three logs is the winner, cool?" Daniel asked us as we walked over to him. "Okay. You're brave to challenge me...So let's do it!" Sean said and I smile at them. "No way you boys are gonna beat me." I said, jokingly. "Nu-uh!" Daniel exclaims and he begins to run around the beach and Sean and I laugh as we spread out to find some logs.
By the time I find three logs and started to head towards the cave, I hear Daniel shout. "I win! It's over, guys!" Sean and I reach the campsite and check the pile. "All right, how much you got?" Sean asked him. "It's all there!" Daniel exclaims. "Yeah, okay...That should be enough for the night." I said as we set down our wood pile and we look it over. "Ha ha! See? Told you! I won." Daniel exclaims.
"All right. We have a little time to explore before we light up the fire." Sean said to him, smiling. "Cool! I'll go check the river!" Daniel said and he runs off. "Man, this place is like our own giant camp! We should catch some fish for dinner!" Daniel exclaims and I smile.
As Sean makes the fire-pit, I walk over to the river and see Daniel trying to stab at fish with a long stick. "Gotcha! No I don't..." he mutters. "What are you doing, mountain boy?" I asked him as I walk next to him. "I'm gonna catch a fish to cook!" He replied to me. "Nice! But we should wait until we get some gear or something..." I said to him. "I can do it! Just watch..." Daniel said to me. "I know....we'll come back later." I said. "You promise?" He asked me and I smiled. "Promise." I said as I nod and he smiles at me.
He walks away from that section of the water and walked down stream. I smiled as I turn around and see Sean sitting on a log. He had a notebook and pen out and I couldn't tell if he was writing or drawing. I walk over to him and asked. "Whatcha' doin'?" He jumps in shock then looks up at me. "Whoa! Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." I said as I hold my hands up then I was able to see that he was indeed drawing.
"Whatcha' drawing there?" I asked him. "Oh...uh...nothing r-really..." he replied and I raise an eyebrow at him. "Really? It looks like something." I said. "It's just...sometimes I just like to sit and draw things." Sean replied to me. "Can I see it?" I asked as he looks at me. "I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to...." I said. "No, no...it's okay. I'm just alittle conscious about it." Sean said and he hands me his notebook and I take it in my hands and look at the drawing of the river and trees but I also noticed that he drew Daniel and I near the river.
"Wow, Sean, this is good. Like really good." I said as I go and sit down next to him. "Really? You think so?" He asked me, sounding shocked that I complimented him. "Way better than me. I can only draw stick figures." I said and he and I laugh at this. "You've got talent." I said as I hand him the notebook. "Thanks." He said as he takes the notebook and puts it away. I look over and see Daniel throwing a rock into the river, which lands with a thump.
"He shoots, he...Oh...Sorry, Mr. Fish!" Daniel said and Sean gets up and walks over to him. "Watch me!" Daniel said and he throws another rock, but it falls straight into the river. I chuckle as I walk over to them as Sean says. "Dude, come on...That's a boulder, not a rock! Here, you need a flat rock..." Sean said as he picks up a flat rock. "Hold it like this...Look at my hand..." he tells Daniel as he holds his hand then he flicks it and the rock skips across the surface of the water. "Boom!" He said. "Okay, I get it! My turn!" Daniel said as he picks up a flat rock.
"Hold it with your thumb and finger...and...spin your wrist when you throw..." Sean said as he demonstrates to Daniel. Daniel copies him then has another go, but he is no better. "Almost... What'd I do wrong?" Daniel asked. "Not bad! Give it another try." Sean encouraged him. Daniel throws again, but there's no improvement. "Aw... So close..." Daniel said, defeated. "Try again, Daniel. You've almost got it..." I said to him. "She's right, enano. You're getting into the zone. Don't give up now!" Sean said and Daniel throws again....and it skips over the water several times.
"I did it! I did it! Did you guys see?" Daniel exclaims, excitedly. "Oh yeah...That was awesome!" Sean said as they high-five and fist bump. "I think you're ready for the Olympic Stone Skipping Team!" I said as Daniel and I high-five each other.
A few minutes later we head back to the cave and Sean crouches down then gets his lighter ready when Daniel calls out to us. "Check this out, guys! Whoa! Nice view...You can see so far..." he said as we look up and see Daniel sitting on the rock ledge. "Wait, we're coming!" Sean said and we walk up and Sean sits on Daniel's left side and I sit on Daniel's right side.
"It's...beautiful!" Daniel whispers. "Pretty amazing, huh?" I said and Daniel smiles. "See? It's not so bad here in the forest..." Sean said to him then the three of us lay on our backs, staring at the clouds. "Hey. Look at those clouds. What do they look like to you?" Sean asked us. "I don't know...Cotton candy?" Daniel said, questionable. "That's it? Cotton candy?" Sean said, shocked. "I dunno...What do you see?" Daniel asked him.
"A dragon!" Sean replied. "What? Where??" Daniel asked. "Okay. There's the tail...and the horns...and the fangs! And the smoke coming out of its mouth!" Sean said as he points towards the sky. "Oh, I see it! It's awesome!" Daniel said. "And I see a castle. Looks like the dragon is going to attack it." I said and Daniel smiles. "Wouldn't it be cool if we had a pet dragon?" He asked. "Yeah, it would be faster to travel than on foot." I said. "I hear that." Sean said and I smile.
Then I started to feel something. Something I've never felt before as I lay here, watching the clouds with these two brothers. As I watch them look up at the clouds, I began to wonder....is this what I was looking for? Are these two the answer to my question of where do I belong? Have I already found what I'm looking for? I mean, I just met these two but...I've never connected with people so quickly like I have with these two. Maybe I could hang around them alittle longer and see where this goes. I thought.
"Ooo...I see something else! There's a giant douchebag!" Daniel said. "Oh yeah? Where?" Sean and I asked. Daniel points up at the sky, then lowers his arm to point at Sean. "Right here." He replied and I began to laugh. "Right here, huh?" Sean said as he playfully nudges Daniel's arm away. We laid there for a few minutes and watch the clouds go by until Sean sits up. "C'mon. Let's go eat something." He said. "You read my mind." I said as I sit up and we walk down the formation and enter inside the cave.
"All right, enano. We're cave people now. Time...to make fire." Sean said to Daniel. "Okay...Can I help?" Daniel asked him. "You have a big mouth like me, so come on! Blow!" Sean said and Daniel smiles. "Yes!" He exclaims then he gives a large puff that blows smolder everywhere. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" I said as Sean exclaimed. "Dude, don't blow it out!"
"Sorry, sorry...I wanted to do it like a movie..." Daniel said, apologetically, then he gives a softer puff. "Nice. It's warming up..." I said and we began to pull out the food from our backpacks and began to eat.

“Alright,” Tony glanced between Rhodey, Peter, and the two SHIELD agents that were their backup, “Rhodes, you’re with me. Spider-Man, you stick with our new friends and scout out that satellite warehouse. If you find access to their database, hook Karen up to it and see what you can do.”
One of the SHIELD agents raised their hands. “Uh, who’s Karen?”
“Spider-Man’s AI.”
“He has an AI?”
“Yeah.” He glared, although he knew nobody could see it through his helmet. “You got an issue?”
The SHIELD agent floundered for a second, glancing between Tony and Peter in a nervous rush. “No, sir. Of course not.”
“Good.” He turned to Peter. “Your comm stays on and linked to me the whole time. You got it?”
He may not have been able to see the kid’s eyeroll through the mask, but he sure as hell heard it in his tone. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll be careful.”
“Yeah, you better.”
“I will.”
“Guys,” Rhodey said, exasperated, “can we do this later?”
“Fine.” He stepped back, had F.R.I.D.A.Y. charge up his repulsers. He offered a parting nod to Peter and the agents. “Good luck. Don’t die.”
As soon as he was in the air, scouting out the main base, he opened Peter’s comm line.
“Morning, squirt.” He grinned at the kid’s groan. “Talk to me. What’s happening?”
“I’m trying to be stealthy.”
He snorted. “Please, I already scanned the building for heat signatures. No one’s in there.”
Peter’s voice lowered. “Mister Stark, you’re embarrassing me.”
“Oh right. Forgot you were with your new SHIELD buddies.”
“Mister Stark, please.”
He chuckled. “What? You not a fan of my-”
“Shh.”
He fell silent right away, skin prickling. Peter never shushed him. Never.
“Pete?” He whispered, freezing mid-air. Rhodey came to hover beside him, and he could see a notification pop up in the corner of the screen, letting him know that he was trying to contact him. He swiped it away. “Buddy? Hey, you good?”
“Something’s wrong.” There was a shuffle, then the kid raised his voice, obviously talking to the agents. “Hey, guys, I don’t think that we should-”
He didn’t need to be connected to Peter’s comms to hear the explosion.
It ripped through the air, sending both him and Rhodey backwards as the shockwave hit them. He rushed to re-correct his course, nearly slamming into Rhodey as he came to a stop. He could see the debris from the sky, eyes locking on the flames that were already crawling through the wreckage.
And the only thing he heard on the comm line was static.
Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
“Peter!” He knew, logically, that he wasn’t choking on ash, that they were still hovering in fresh air, but it felt like it, because Peter didn’t answer. “Peter! Kid, talk to me!”
“I’m sorry, Boss, but we’ve lost the connection,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. said.
“No, no, no. Get me his vitals.”
“I am unable to connect to his suit, either.”
“Fuck. Fuck.”
Please don’t be dead. Please. Please. Please don’t be dead.
He tried to dive towards the smoldering remains, heart in his throat, but jerked to a halt when an iron arm wrapped around his waist.
“Tony!” Since when did F.R.I.D.A.Y. put Rhodey’s comm request through? “Tones, you can’t go down there yet. Y’hear me? We don’t know if they’ve planted more explosives. We gotta keep our distance until-”
“Peter’s down there.” Tears, hot and angry, welled up in his eyes. “Rhodey, please-my... my kid. My kid. He’s down there. He’s-”
“Tony, listen to me-”
He fired his repulsers, growling when Rhodey just tightened his grip and hauled them backwards. “No, no. His-His comms are down. I can’t talk to him. Please. Rhodey, please.”
“Tony, man, I’m so fucking sorry, alright? I’m really sorry.”
Rhodey’s voice was strained with... something. An emotion Tony knew yet refused to acknowledge, because no. It couldn’t be that. Peter was fine. Please, please, Peter had to be fine.
“Rhodey, let go.” He strained against his best friend’s grip, and Rhodey hooked one of his legs around his shins, restricting his ability to maneuver. “You don’t understand. I have to protect him, it’s my... it’s my job.”
“I do understand, Tones.” The words were gruff. “What do you think it is I’m trying to do? You’re not the only one who’s got something to protect.”
He choked on a breath, sob bubbling up his throat. “I need him.”
“And I need you,” the admission was sudden enough that Tony’s escape attempts faltered, “so quit fighting and let me keep you from getting yourself killed, alright? The bomb squad’s on its way. They’ll handle it.”
He went limp, waited until Rhodey’s hold loosened just slightly, then sent a calculated kick to the War Machine armor’s left boot, destabilizing his thrust and giving him the chance to jerk away.
He felt a flash of guilt at the panicked way Rhodey called his name as he blasted towards the smoking rubble, but not enough to slow him down. He landed so roughly that he went down on his hands and knees, crawling forward a meter or two in panic before staggering back to his feet.
He heard Rhodey land behind him, still cursing. “F.R.I.D.A.Y., scan the area. I need heat signatures.”
“There are two human-shaped signatures approximately 35 feet to your left. One is rapidly cooling. I cannot identify the site of the third body, however.”
“Get me to the two you can find.”
She guided him through the rubble, Rhodey following closely behind. He’d given up trying to convince him to leave, just stuck close and periodically told him to slow down, to be careful.
He did neither.
He fell to his knees by the spot F.R.I.D.A.Y. indicated, tearing through shards of metal and splintered beams until his gauntlets hit flesh.
It wasn’t Peter. It was one of the SHIELD agents, laying face-down. His back was riddled with shrapnel, blood oozing almost lazily down the back of his uniform.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y.? Is he...?”
“I can detect no vitals, Boss. However, there is another body directly underneath this one, and my scanners are picking up a heartbeat.”
He shoved the corpse away, letting it roll down the mound of debris without another glance. He knew it was wrong, knew he should feel something over the loss of life, but he couldn’t, because then he was staring down at the familiar red and blue of the Spider-Man suit, and all he could feel was wild desperation.
Peter.
The kid was also sprawled out on his stomach, one arm bent unnaturally at the elbow. He was covered in splintered wood, but Tony couldn’t see any blood, any wounds. He carefully rolled him over, cupping the back of Peter’s head to stop it from knocking against the ground.
“Buddy, Peter.” He felt Rhodey’s hand on his shoulder, and promptly ignored it. He shook the kid gently. “Hey, c’mon. Nap time’s over.”
The suit’s eyes twitched at the shake, a little groan working its way out of Peter’s throat. As much as Tony hated hearing him in pain, the spark of life sent a thrill up his spine.
“Yes! Good boy.” He slipped the mask off his face, disengaging his own helmet at the same time. Peter’s eyelashes flickered as the sunlight landed on his face. There were tiny tracks of blood from his ears, and Tony tried to wipe some of it away. “Hey, kiddo. Wake up for me.”
Peter shifted, then winced. His eyes finally opened, gazing up at Tony dazedly. “Mister Stark?”
He hauled the kid into his arms, burying his face into his hair, lightheaded and drunk on relief. He didn’t realize he was sobbing until he felt the wetness of tears on his face.
“I thought I lost you,” he gasped. “God, Peter.”
You’re alive. You’re alive. You’re alive.
“‘M okay, Mister Stark. I’m okay.” Peter tried to hug him back, then gasped. “Oh, ouch. Maybe... Maybe ‘m not 100% okay.”
Tony pulled back and rushed to ease the kid back to the ground. “Your arm?”
“Yeah.” He coughed a little. “Broken?”
“Looks like it, yeah.”
“Awesome.” Peter squinted around the rubble, freezing when his eyes landed on the SHIELD agent’s body, sprawled out a few feet away. “Mister Stark, is he...?”
He gripped the kid’s chin and forced his back gaze to his face. “Don’t look, Peter.”
“You have to help him,” Peter begged. He looked so young. “Please. He saved my life. He pushed me when the bomb went off. You have to-”
“There’s nothing I can do, kiddo. I’m sorry.”
Tears welled up in the kid’s eyes. “He died because of me.”
“No, he died because a group of terrorists planted a bomb, a bomb that you had no way of knowing was there, because some people are just evil. Do you understand? You had nothing to do with this.”
“I should’ve been faster.”
“No, no. Shh.” He maneuvered the kid back into his arms, mindful of his injured arm. “You were brilliant. You did everything you could.”
“He shouldn’t have done that. He shouldn’t have saved me. I’m not worth it. I’m not.”
He shook his head, hand fisting in the kid’s curls, fierce and protective. “Maybe I’m biased, kid, but I can’t think of anything else that’s more worth it.”

Warnings: This is a Tickle Fanfic, if you don’t like, please, look for another storie in this site, there’s a plenty of wonderful arts here! Hmmm... Ah! There is Lee!Virgil and Ler!Logan. Something around 3.000 words. -w-)s2.
                                                    [~*~]
It was a cloudy day, and cloudy days were signs of foreboding.
Blackbeard died during a storm, many said. (Perhaps more for the bloody battle he fought during the natural phenomenon than for itself, but that was kind of a understanding that few really understood.) The Kraken awakens during the worst thunderstorms and windstorms that shakes him from his sleep as shake the deepest of the seas, a thousand and one poems recited. The ocean floor is filling with ships and the shattered treasures of those who couldn't escape the rains and their tides, they warned. Some older, more experienced pirates, also meaner, could not be left out, commenting between smiles and a few doses of rum: Beginner's ordeal.
But Virgil denied, not because he was novice or so experienced that he no longer saw it as a challenge, just thought it was unfair to ignore all the good things that cloudy days can bring. Often the clouds, the cold wind, and the faint appearances of the sun's warm rays were more signs of a change than a storm.
So he liked to enjoy them.
Preferably lying in the small, but comfortable, Mast cabin. The perfect resting place: high enough to close your eyes and get lost in the scent of saltwater brought by the cold wind; a place where nothing, not even a problem, could reach you, where you found yourself almost touching the sky at the same time it was low enough to hear each one of the crew on their tasks as a little reminder that there is always somewhere (and someone) to go back to.
He took a deep breath, taking advantage of the wave of inspiration to get back to his story. It was not one of his largest, only a little over than five pages, made just to quench the sudden, insistent, uncontrollable tickle desire that had practically woken up with him that day. He barely contained the uncontrollable smile that opened up on his face and the way he squirmed slightly as he described the protagonist (who was caught by his friends in the middle of his mission to steal the fridge and now 'suffered' the consequences) being attacked without mercy in all its ticklish spots: the sides, sensitive to the slightest squeeze and nudge, the belly full of laughter, the neck colored by the blush and all the scribbles, absolutely impossible to ignore, along with...
Virgil found himself letting out a series of giggles, blushing at no one in particular. He filled a few more lines until he began to imagine the pairs of hands coming out of the paper, their fingers wriggling playfully, making him realize his onwed fate when they tickled him.
- AAAAAAAH !! - Initially it was just one scream, quickly being doubled with the help of the on with purple bandana, who practically hurled his entire storie through the boat with the jump in the fright obtained. He quickly recompose himself, turning toward the kitchen, where a Roman (“How could he stand to be shirtless at this weather?”) gestured wildly. - It's cold! It's cold! COLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLD !! PAAAAAAAATTON! IT'S TOO COLD TO WASH THE DISH!
It was almost audible the stubborn expression in the other's tone. The one on the Mast tried to control his unrhythmic breathing, leaning against the half wall of the cubicle.
Roman...
- Be cool, kiddo! You can do it, ‘cause you're hot!
Virgil didn't listen to the rest of the conversation, trying to slow the excitement of the euphoric butterflies fluttering in his stomach and the intense heat wich spreaded all over his face. His heart skipped a beat.
He needed a glass of water. Maybe two.
He clipped the story sheets together and slipped down the loose strings of the sails, stopping on deck and heading toward the kitchen quickly.
- V! I heard you scream! Are you hurt? - The quartet's father figure did not wait for a response as he grasped his shoulders, his eyes at the same time scanning every square inch of his being for the slightest damage.
- N-no, I ... - And if those hands would go a little higher and scratch your neck ... VIRGIL! Focus! - I just freaked out about Roman's morning drama.
He looked away, a little ironic smile in the face. Well done, Virgil, he congratulated himself, acid teasing is always a good way and a safe ground.
By that movement he did not notice Patton's gaze, which frowned for a few silent seconds, suddenly seeming to notice something different in the other. A small detail that he couldn't really distinguish, just knowing it was there. His expression softened, sending to him a loving look.
“When will you tell, my kiddo?”
They both shook their heads slightly, trying to frighten, or perhaps shuffle and confuse, their thoughts. The eyes met shortly after. The pirate with glasses (it seemed like the beginning of a chronicle) laughed.
- Don't be mean to him. - Warned before hugging him. - We'll dock tonight, what do you think we leave tomorrow morning to get supplies and new spices? - The animation in his voice was practically palpable. The hug tightened a little more. If those hands changed to his ribs...
- Of course, Patton. - Virgil was the first to break the touch, a simple smile being the perfect mask for the huge search in his mind of every possible curse which he could use to curse his Lee Mood. - That would be great.
- Oh. And be careful with weather for not get a flu, you're already red.
Correction: Scarlet. Patton gave one of his angelic smiles and left.
Okay, he decided, feeling his ears got hot, maybe three glasses of water. Cold water. Very cold.
He finished serving himself and returned to the deck, his mind already returning to a few increments in the plot of the story. He just had to go through Logan, which would not be difficult since he was concentrating on reading his papers, finding the pencil he had dropped on the floor with the earlier fright, returning to the Mast-
Hang on.
Logan. Reading some papers.
His body froze.
“Maybe it's not mine. - He tried to convince himself, the very thought sounding insecure. - Maybe it's ... it's from Roman! He loves to do things and show and ... and ... ”
His own body propelled him forward involuntarily. Wobbling, heavy, steps more noisy than he wanted, but to be honest, his desires were focused on something else right now.
Logan looked up, half flushed, half smiling. An expression that totally faded as met with the one wearing the purple bandana, replaced by one of guilt, like a child caught in the midst of his prank. Virgil stared at the papers, recognized the capital letters for laughter, the ideas written in the margins, the light wrinkled in the paper’s conner, his handwriting ...
His hands sweated cold.
- Virgil, it was not my intention ...
Virgil always had two strategies for every difficult situation he faced in life: Flight or Fight. So his muscles tensed, his hand closed with a strong grip, he flexed his legs.
And then dashed off to his room.
[~*~]
He first thought of tossing himself out of the window, then thought of tossing Logan out of the window, then thought of tossing the story out the window, and finally thought of tossing the window out the window, but none of these options seemed like could solve his problem.
He had already wondered what he was going to do when they found out, of course. Everyone who kept a secret had already taken some part of their lives to figure out what to would do when their secret stopped to be, well ... secret
But right now all the plans, the lines, the movements ... everything (everything!) was gone from his mind. It was blank, like a cloud crumbling with its hands up in the act of surrender. Virgil sat on the bed and buried his face in his hands, feeling how sweaty and trembling they were.
Logan. Where would he be now? What would you be doing? Was he telling everyone? Was he showing his stories? All? Had he found others on the Mast? Had he thrown them into the sea? Was he thinking of throwing he into the sea? No, wait, this is too extreme, it wouldn't happen. But he might find it weird, oh gosh, he could think that Virgil was a freak, that was easier than the ‘tossing in the ocean’ thing, but not better. He would look at him strange and-
The one in purple took his pillow and hid his face in it, hugging the object with all the strength he could muster. Stayed like that for a while.
When he finally stopped, he was panting, his heart pounding, however now he had something to focus beyond his own thoughts. He looked up and stared at himself in the small mirror on his desk. He was a mess. He buried his face in his hands and took a deep breath.
One, two, three, four...five... six... seven...
Eight.
Expires.
Inspires.
One, two, three, four...five... six... seven...
Eight.
Expires.
He faced himself once more in the mirror.
- You are not a freak. - His voice was low and he stared at himself determinedly. - You're not a stranger and even less your likes. If it makes you, no, if makes me happy, then everything is fine. Everything is okay, ok?
A knock sounded on the door.
- Virgil? It's Logan. - Short break. - I'm coming in.
There was no time to hide under the bed so, yes, when the one who wear glasses opened the door Virgil was still there. Kind of weird pose and staring at the wall, but technically, he was there.
Logan hesitated a little, maybe he should have waited longer? Have waited for him to calm down or come talk about this with him or...? He shook his head. No. He was there now and the subject seemed to be of a great importance to Virgil, so they would talk about it.
He sat on the bed, still not receiving a look from the other, until a small sheaf of papers was handed to him, a little over than five pages long, with ideas written in the margins. The purple lover caught, staring at it because it was a little easier than facing the most rational of the group.
- First I would like to apologize. - Logan began, sounding like he'd trained his lines. - You hurried out of the Mast and these papers ended up falling, and I got them in the intention to return to you, however I was led by curiosity and ended up reading. I shouldn't have messed with your things, and ... it seems that this particular thing matters a lot to you. - 'Hot' was a euphemism, Virgil felt his face in embers. - But I would like to add that your writing is really very engaging! - The one who was listening widened his eyes. Ok. He definitely didn't expect that. His attention was captured enough to raise his gaze, something that excited the wearer of glasses. - You have a great grammar mastery along with a wide vocabulary and you know how to use it to your advantage, managing to turn a daily plot into a light and fun reading.
Virgil couldn't hide the little corner smile. Logan was not someone who gave unsubstantiated praise or just for speaking, when he said it, it was sincerely. Their eyes met and before they knew it ended up questioning:
- Did you like it?
- Indeed. It was a very nice read. You should not hide it or be afraid of what others will find. Of course, there is always the possibility that someone doesn't like it, but I assure you that would be exceptions.
Wait...
- Do you think I ran away because of this?
Now Logan seemed a little groundless, as if he had broken his train of thought. He blinked a few times. Was there ... Was there a point he didn't understand? Something that he didn't realize?? His answer came out with a slight tone of doubt.
- Yes.
Oh. Ooh.
Virgil didn't know where it came from, but he suddenly felt angry that Logan didn't realize the ‘thing’ yet, and before he could even think about that, his mouth dumped it all at once:
- No. That was not it! It was for the content, for the plot: tickling! - The word tasted different when it came out loud, not whispered in the silents night. - The whole story revolves around this: tickling. Because I like it and I like write about it. It's catchy! The laughter of the people, the feeling of security, the contact, the trust, the smiles ... It's ... it's ...
- Lovely? - It was a complement more than a suggestion, a smile spreading across Logan’s face without asking permission.
Virgil felt wich even his neck was dyed red, but he could not help but return the gesture. It was... well, a good relief to tell this to someone, especially Logan, someone who he had often trusted his life along the trip and the battles. His gaze walked over Logan's face for a moment, searching for any trace of bad feelings.
Did not find.
- Yes.
Silence.
- Don't you think it's weird?
- Not really. I can fully understand why you enjoy it so much. It's your liking, if it doesn't hurt anyone, there's no point in not enjoying it.
Silence. Virgil felt a strange urge to laugh. Maybe it was the relief.
- It’s, indeed, - Logan completed. - lovely.
- Don’t say it. - Virgil grunted, still smiling, hiding his face in his hands. A poke at his side almost made him fell off the bed, a squeal escaping his lips as he pushed away. The one who wore purple stared at the other, anticipation almost lighting the room as bright his gaze.
- Virgil. - The tone made a shiver run down his spine and a slightly more uncontrollable smile spread across his face. It only served to increase the certainty in Logan's voice. - I'll tickle you. Get ready.
And then he ‘attacked’.
Virgil was definitely not prepared. Not when his fingers met his ribs, kneading them into circular patterns that immediately spilled a waterfall of giggles and squeals through his mouth, the sensations making him feel about to jump from his skin. His hands broke to grasp Logan's, gripping his wrists but making no effort to move them.
- Nohohohohohoho! Wa-wahahahahahahahait! - His nose was wrinkled and his eyes closed tightly, as if he might lessen the sensation for not seeing them. Virgil fell back on the mattress and Logan took advantage of the moment of distraction to get straight to the new unprotected spot: the belly, wasting no time in scribbling its full length, eventually increasing the squirming and streams of laughter from the first.
- Did you know that tickling sensations are a way twich the human body warns the brain that some area with important organs is being attacked? - The bespectacled’s voice was calm and methodical as it began to loosen fast grips, one hand concentrating on the sides of the other, as if it were not turning one of the quietest of the group into a pool of squeaky giggles, and the other hand quietly moving toward his belly button, bringing out more hysterical laughter and causing him to shrink more and more into himself, stucking the fingers rather than actually protecting himself. - Laughter and involuntary muscle impulses, more known as squirming, are the brain's way of defending itself, the because still a mystery. However, one thing we know… - Logan changed his method, starting to make circular movements around Virgil’s belly (giggle) button, dragging his fingers with unbearably light tickles, getting closer and closer to the center.
- Lohohohohohohohohohohoho, stohohohohp! I´ll- I´ll ehehehehehehehehehend withihihihihihihihihihihi - The one with the glasses went down a few millimeters, attacking the waist a little more vigorously, seeking Virgil to unfold and achieving the desired result successfully. - NahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAhahaha !!
- ...is that, depending on the touch and the place, sounds other than laughter can be observed, such as...
The tickling stopped, Virgil still laughing helplessly on the bed, squirming with the tiniest gust of wind.
Silence.
Absolute silence.
It was a trap, he was sure of it, yet he dared to open his eyes, catching a glimpse of Logan's slightly mischievous grin before focusing on the finger that twitched a few inches away from his umbiculous.
- Logan! Loghahahahahahan.- Laughter simply floated without permission from his lips, much higher than usual, the writer could feel his belly quivering with anticipation. Attempting to bite his lower lip to cover the smile and perhaps stop the laughter.Logan moved the only (damn) finger closer. Virgil squeaked and failed on every attempt. - Ple-pleasehehehehehehehehehe, I-Ihihihihihihihihihihi-
The finger struck quickly against his navel, scratching, scribbling and poking without the slightest mercy and completely taking away his chance to finish the sentence.
Virgil snorted. Literally snorted.
His eyes widened and his hands made way to cover his mouth, but their attention was captured by the unbearable tickling, letting them sway from side to side, trying to stop the tickling but to no avail.
- LohohOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOGAH !!! NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHhahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!! - The laughter came out shaking his whole body. Loud, carefree, frantic laughter. He flinched quickly, his head swaying from side to side as if to deny his fate, even though the huge, bright smile that seemed to light up the entire room, coupled with that warm, pleasant feeling in his chest, said the complete opposite. The remaining hand attacked his sides and ribs without any pattern or order, causing Virgil to practically jump with each touch, the laughter shifting from the high to the low tones.
- But, dear Virgil, I still have other sounds to show you! - His fingers drifted to his neck, pausing for a few sips of air, a pause filled with giggles. The ringing changed to the chin, pulling out a quick yelp. - Snorts, squeals, giggle, laugh, yelps…
The tickling lasted a few more minutes, until his laughter became breathless, so Logan ceased the attack. Virgil immediately rubbed his palms over his neck, trying to remove all the remaining sensations and to make sure that his face had not melted with all the blush nor broken with the size his smile was, I mean, is.
- Are you alright?
The one who wore purple opened one watery, twinkling eye, staring at him, his mouth pronouncing before he could think of the real weight of his words:
- J-just those sounds? I thought as an explorer you hated to be content with few results.
A different look passed and settled on the other's face, then expanding and taking over the Logan's, once kindly, expression. It caused a sudden electricity sensation in the air, his whole body crawling and laughter beginning to fill his throat with euphoria.
- I understand.
In the blink of an eye Logan's hands found his armpits. Virgil felt his breath and the world stop for a long second… and then his fingers twitched.
Virgil literally screamed.
- NononoNOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO! LO-LOHOHOHOHOHO- I´M SORRAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAY. - His head was thrown back with the force of laughter, his body squirming for an escape route, even though no matter how much he moved, the sensations followed. His mind was blank, unable to really focus on anything but the poking, scratching, tickling that made eveen his nerves laugh and made him unable to form any words, coherent or not. His heels sank into the mattress, lifting his torso for a moment, until the tickles floated lightly at the base of his back, causing his body to fall back onto the bed. - NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAI-
It took a few minutes before the tears began to wash down his cheeks and the laughter became silent. Logan immediately stopped at this point.
- As you can see we also have as examples the scream and the belly laughte. r- The smile was noticeable in his tone. - I think these are enough examples.
- Yehehehes. You got ihihihihit.
- Did I go too far?
Virgil shook his head, wiping tears, the remaining laughter finally stopping. He heard the door slam shut and when he opened his eyes Logan was no longer there. Tried to replay his memories in order to have done something wrong or what else might have bothered the other as his breathing returned to normal frequency.
When he managed to sit on the bed, preparing to leave, Logan returned with a glass of water in his hand, handing it over to the other, who had not realized how thirsty he was until that moment. He took the glass and drank its contents in a few sips, the room surprised with the sudden silence.
For some people cloudy days, days that could mean a storm or a sunny day, were signs of foreboding, but Virgil didn't see them that way. Sometimes a cloudy day is just exactly what it is: a day for changes.
- Thank you. - They both knew what the thanks really meant.
And, perhaps, for others, those who did not live sailing and exploring the seven seas, cloudy days could mean something else. Perhaps it could be known as a day to enjoy a good hot drink, a comfortable and safe place, good company, or the warmth which human being can provide. The confidence this can bring.
- You could had kept your secret when I - Logan waved his hand, as if to ward off a fly or a slightly annoying memory - didn't realize it at first.
Virgil shrugged and looked away, tapping the empty space beside him on the mattress, an invitation that was not declined by the other. He grabbed a book under his bed, the one with pages that talked about the secrets after the End of the World and the stars, and offered it to the most racional of the crew.
- It's cloudy outside, we can catch the flu if we get in the evening wind. Want to read?
And so it was. Days of change, days of strengthening ties, days of sharing memories ...
- It's a good option. Thank you.
It was a cloudy day, pleasantly cloudy.

Slasher OC Brenden Locklear Story
Warnings: Blood, Animal Abuse, and Violence
There are many stories about Everest Natural Park. It's the largest in the state and is home to many protected wildlife. It's been around for hundreds of years; the Natives of the land would tell stories to travelers making sure to advise them to be respectful of the land and the animals, or they would awaken evil spirits that would bring them harm. Green eyes dart over the phone screen as she looks at the most recent story. A woman was found hacked to pieces after she dumped all her trash into one of the park’s lakes. The police wrote that she was barely recognizable, her remains getting eaten by the Vultures in the area looking for a quick meal.
Jenny’s stomach churns just reading it as she turns off her phone curling herself in the car seat as her head leans against the window of the back seat. The window feels cool against her skin as fog surrounds the old van wagon. She holds back food from coming back up her through as she tries to focus on the landscape instead. With her body feeling like it was cold and then hot she needed something to distract her from the changing discomfort. Her long auburn hair rests under a soft beanie as she scans the tall pines that pass as the van takes a quick turn through the mountains.
“Damnit Joseph I’m trying to sleep back here!” A woman raises from the back of the van taking off her boot and throwing it to the front window. The car sways as Joseph tries to get control of the car again. With a deep breath he turns around glaring at the women.
“Carrie are you fucking crazy?! Are you trying to make us drive off the cliff?!” Carrie huffs at him laying back down. Jenny pulls herself closer as Joseph softens at her.
“Hey, I’ll get you some medicine when we reach the cabin okay?” He reaches back and pats her leg as she nods looking out into the forest. The park is massively bigger than anyone she’s been to. They had several campsites with cabins and lodges along with cave tours and rock climbing. There was so much to do, she closed her eyes as her stomach twists again.
“Dude we should seriously do shots when we get there.” Joseph’s friend slurs in his sleep sitting up a bit.
“Go back to sleep Aiden.” Joseph pushes him back in the seat as Aiden falls back to sleep snoring.
“Urgh typical.” The girl next to Jenny said reading a book as she adjusts her glasses shaking her head at Aiden.
“What’s wrong Elizabeth, still got a stick up your ass.” Carrie sits up again poking her face as Elizabeth slaps her hand away.
“Yes, I’m still upset, you slept with my boyfriend!” She yells as Joseph lets out a sigh.
“He wasn’t that good.” Carrie shrugs her blonde curls falling around her shoulders.
“And my girlfriend.” Carrie laughs at her.
“She wasn’t that good either.” Elizabeth turns around tackling Carrie to the ground.
“Guys can you please put all our issues aside for the next few days you know why we're doing this right?!” Joseph shouts at them all. Aiden comes out of his slumber as the car comes to an uncomfortable silence. Elizabeth gets back in her seat as Carrie hands her back the book she was reading resting her body on the back of the seat.
“Yeah we remember dude.” Aiden rubs the back of his head.
“Good.” Joseph saids speeding down the road as Jenny holds herself closer.
The entrance to the park was seen after by a bubbly woman with soft red hair and a bright smile. Joseph pays her for the admission as she gives them the cabins keys and directions.
“Oh, and we just installed a curfew for the time being. All residents should be inside their sites at 10:00pm.”
“Why is that?” Aiden asks.
“Well we've been having some incidents with poachers and vandalism and until it dies down, we want the park goers to be safe.” She smiles, Joseph nods thanking her as they drive through the park. They pass by many sites and activities as they make it to their two-story cabin.
“Woah not bad Joseph.” Aiden whistles as he gets out once the van is parked.
“Thanks parents paid for it.” Jenny looks over at Joseph as she gets out of the car stumbling a bit. Joseph takes notice helping her stand as he gets her things out the car.
“Can you guys start unpacking please I’m going to take Jenny up.” He looks back at the other three.
“Sure, we got it.” Elizabeth looks at Jenny with concern as she starts to open the back of the van. Joseph takes Jenny to the cabin up the stairs to a nice room cleaned recently. He starts to unpack her sleeping bag and pillow along with a stuffed turtle.
“You took Gregory with you?” He lets out a laugh looking back at Jenny.
“I never leave home without him.” Jenny’s cheeks flare up. She thought she hid him well enough. Joseph places the turtle on the bed as he gets her to lay down. She starts to feel a bit better sleep drawing closer. Joseph sits on the edge of the bed fiddling with his fingers.
“Joseph?” Jenny bites her lip, but opens to speak again. “I want to tell Mom and Dad where we are.”
“We can’t do that.” He states coldly.
“Why?” She asks sitting up. “Whatever is happening we can work it out.”
“No after this we're going to Grandma’s and we’re finding you a new college to go too.” He looks at the wall.
“You said this was just a fun trip to the park.” Jenny sits up straighter her voice raising with the upcoming headache.
“Well I lied; you're going to thank me one day Jenny.” He gets up going to the door.
“But I want to stay with our parents.”
“It's not safe anymore.” He states clutching his fist. “They’re not safe.”
“Joseph what are you-?” Jenny gets up holding onto the railing of the bed.
“I’ll explain it when we get to Grandma’s house.” He closes the door leaving Jenny in the room by herself. She lets out a sigh changing into her pajamas, crawling into the bed holding Greagory close as she closes her eyes.
The sound of the door opening alerts her as Elizabeth walks in her deep brown hair tied in a high ponytail as her turtleneck complements the rest of her black attire. She holds a glass of water and a pill placing it on the bedside table beside her. Jenny reaches over to take it then drinks the water afterwards.
“Thanks Elizabeth,” Jenny smiles up at her.
“Your brother wanted me to give it to you. Are you going to be able to go on a hike with us tomorrow?” She feels her forehead.
“I do feel a little better.” Jenny saids.
“Don’t overwork yourself okay. This is probably from all those all nighters you pulled. The stress over exams gets intense.” Jenny nods at her as she pats her arm heading out the room to let her sleep again.
The next day Jenny got dressed and went downstairs. As Carrie made breakfast.
“Hey kiddo feeling better?” She ruffles Jenny’s hair.
“I’m feeling better, but still a bit hot.” She takes a seat next to Aiden. He lazily feels her forehead, his green hair messy and shaggy as usual.
“Take it easy today Jenny.” He saids as Carrie starts putting the food on the table.
“Where is Joseph and Elizabeth.” Jenny looks around not seeing the two.
“They’re outside getting ready for the hike.” Carrie saids.
Jenny nods making her plate of food as she hums at how good it is. Joseph and Elizabeth come in soon after taking a seat at the table with the rest of them. After they head out making their way up the trail. Jenny stays in the back feeling the fresh air helps her a bit.
“Hey look.” Joseph points through the trees at a small owl huddled in a nest.
“Aw,” Jenny coos.
“Those are protected right?” Aiden places his arms behind his head.
“Yeah all the animals in the park are protected.” Elizabeth informs as they go along their way. They cross a creek and walk under the shady pines  has the cloud's rest in the sky. They get to a path with branches sticking out of the ground. There are signs warning park goers to be careful as on the side of them is a steep hill. Jenny tries her best, but she takes a wrong step and a branch breaks from under her making her tumble down the hill.
“Jenny!” Joseph yells after her. Jenny doesn’t know how long she fell but she lays on something soft. The smell reaches her nose as she jolts back seeing blood on her hands as she lets out a scream throwing up soon afterwards. There are bodies of moose around her with the antlers cut off as their insides spill on the ground. Jenny moves away shaking, feeling a pain shoot in her leg and arm. The sound of a motor reaches her ears as a green four wheeler drives across the creek to reach her. On the wheeler rests a man wearing brown aviators. He spots her and the moose getting off the vehicle. He towers over Jenny, long blonde hair tied in a braid rests behind his back. His park ranger uniform is just a loose green coat with the badge on it as he wears a red flannel and ripped jeans and heavy boots. His gaze makes Jenny freeze as tears roll down her eyes.  He reaches down stretching out  his hand, she sees the tattoos that litter all up his arm as she flinches back.
“Jenny!” He retracts it at the sound of her brother as he rushes down the hill running over to her. He gets to her side glaring up at the man.
“You work here.” He spats as the others come up behind him.
“Are you okay?” Aiden helps Jenny up as she limps a bit.
“I’ll probably just have a bruise.” Jenny stands by herself. The man looks at her brother as Joseph glares back.
“You kids camping here?” His voice is deep and slow like he had just woken up from a nap.
“Yeah in the cabin down the road.” Joseph answers. Jenny looks down at the moose corpses.
“Urgh gross!” Carrie holds her nose.
“What happened?” Jenny asks looking at the man.
He looks at the moose, his expression not really seen under the aviators.
“Poachers,” He growls, taking off his ranger hat to wipe his brow. “You all best get back to your cabin. Poachers aren't too kind to others.” He states crunching down to close the moose's eyes.
“Yeah thanks we will.” Joseph tells them to come on as they leave to head back to the cabin. Jenny looks back at the men as he takes off his glasses feeling along the cut antlers.
“Jenny, come on.” Elizabeth grabs her shoulders. “Something about that guy gives me the creeps.” She glares back at him as Jenny nods her head.
Back at the cabin Jenny rests on the hammock outside as Joseph starts to set up a campfire for dinner. She stares up at the sky, her mind full of questions. Joseph comes to rest on the hammock with her as they stare up at the sky.
“Hey I’m sorry about yesterday and dragging you here, and I can’t explain everything now, but I will someday.” He saids holding her hand.
“Are mom and dad bad people Joseph, is that why you're not telling me anything?” Jenny doesn’t look at him taking a deep breath.
“They are involved in some bad things, and some bad people. I wanted you to get away from it before it came out or anything happened.” Jenny holds his hand letting out a deep breath.
“I had to take some of their money and we need a bit more to make it to Grandma’s, but don’t worry we’ll get it.” He rests his head on hers.
“Do you trust me?”He asks in a shaky voice.
“Yes I do Joseph.” Jenny nods trying not to cry. Her parents were bad people? Sure they had their flaws, but they loved them, comforted them when they were sad, and always supported them. Joseph rubs her shoulder as they rock in silence, as the sun starts to go down over the mountain range.
“Wanna help me get dinner set up?” He turns to her.
“Yeah,” Jenny gets up her limbs only a little sore now as she helps him start the fire and get dinner ready. The others bring out chairs and beer as Joseph cooks over the fire. Jenny relaxes as Elizabeth pours her some coco into a mug handing it to her.
“Look, I brought smores.” Aiden pulls out a bag of marshmallows. Carrie grabs the bag starting to stick the marshmallows on pokers. They eat and talk and around the fire. Aiden would bring up the times Joseph, Elizabeth, and Carrie would go on trips around the states during their summers in college. Jenny listens laughing along with them. She lets out a yawn, putting her mug off to the side as she leans back in the chair. The sounds of them talking helps her drift off to sleep not realizing how tired she was in the first place.
She wakes up on the couch in the cabin with a blanket over her. She rubs her eyes looking around. The only light she has is the one in the kitchen.
“Joseph?” She calls getting up off the couch looking around. The cabin is silent as she walks around. She calls out for the others but they don’t answer. A howling wind rings from outside as she stares out the window to see that the fire was out and the chairs were put away. She looks to the front door thinking for a moment. She didn’t want to be alone at least not right now. She let out a deep breath going over to the door to step out into the night air. She pulls her jacket close as the wind kicks up. She cries out to them again but still no answer. Her heart starts to race. Her thoughts go to poachers or the people involved with her parents as she hikes up the trail they went on earlier, bad scenarios playing through her mind.
“Joseph!” She yells but still no answer. A howl startles her as she makes her way deeper in the trail. They couldn’t have gone far she hopes as she hears a twig snap in the trees.
“Hello?” She calls out. “Guys is that you?” She hears a deep growl as she starts to dash back the other way through the trees. She feels something gaining on her as she stops in a bit of a clearing turning around to see nothing. The forest comes alive with noise as she continues forward wanting to get as far away as possible from whatever that was. She calls out again but stops at the sound of a laugh.
“Aiden,” She walks forward through the brushes pulling them away. She covers her mouth at the sight of four individuals wearing Halloween masks standing around the corpses of a few owls. Three babies all chirp at them as a person steps up taking one by the neck and snapping it in two. Jenny steps back flinching at the sound. She steps on a branch causing the others to turn in her direction. One grabs a large machete from their bag walking forward.
“Dude leave it alone it's probably another animal or something.” One of them takes off the mask to reveal Carrie.
“This shit is hot, are we done?” She throws the mask on the ground. The others take them off as well.
“This is enough right?” Aiden asks. Jenny’s eyes went over to the one that snapped the owl’s neck, it  was Elizabeth wearing a constant frown. Aiden kicks a dead owl over watching its head tilt in a untarual angle.
“Kill the rest of the babies, that will be enough.” Joseph holds the machete looking out into the woods.
“These buyers sure spend a lot of money on these birds. Kind of weird if you ask me.” Carrie says, picking up an axe placing it behind her head.
“Everyone wants things they can’t have in human nature.” Elizabeth picks up another baby bird that squeaks under her gripe.
“Hey what the-!”Aiden exclaims, Jenny rushes over to Elizabeth prying the owl out of her hand picking up the other one. As she backs away from the group.
“Oh hey Jenny.” Aiden tries to soothe her.
“Back the fuck up! What do you all think you're doing!” She screams, shaking where she stands.
“Hey, Jenny, calm down okay let me explain.” Joseph drops his machete holding up his hands to plead with her.
“I-I don’t understand.” She steps back, her head throbbing.
“It's going to be okay you just-” He starts
“No it's not okay! My parents suddenly became bad people! You all are killing endangered animals, you can go to jail for that Joseph, all of you can!” She looks at the rest as they look down.
“Jenny please.” Elizabeth outstretches her hand, Jenny steps back.
“No stay away all you.” She glares holding the owls close.
“We need those to keep going Jenny. They are a lot on the black market, their feathers and everything. All we have to do is kill a few and we can get out of here all the way to Grandma’s and start over.” Joseph smiles. Jenny’s eyes scan down at the owl bodies her stomach churns.
“We all get some money to split Jenny, you can use it for a college fund.” Carrie saids in a calm voice. Tears start to fall down Jenny’s eyes.
“Please not like this guys this isn’t like you.” She chokes.
“I’m doing this for you. You’ll thank me later.” He grabs her arm tightly trying to pry the owls out as Jenny lets out a scream. They drop to the ground whimpering.
“No Stop please!” She pleads to get down to protect the birds with her body.
“Jenny God dammit! Why do you have to get in the way!” He yells Elizabeth grabs his shoulder.
“Calm down we still have the antlers lets just sell those and the leftover bird bodies.” She saids. Jenny  softly sobs lifting up her head placing the birds close against her chest.
“Fine round up everything we leave in the morning.” He sighs. The others start to gather the corpses. Aiden picks up a big one with wings hanging down as he wiggles it around.
“Weird ass looking things-” Something wisps in the air as the sounds around them fall into an eerie silence.
Jenny looks up more and screams. Aiden drops the owl falling to his knees as an arrow sticks out of his neck blood oozes from his mouth as he lets out one gurgled groan falling to the ground to take his last breath.
“Shit!: Carrie starts toward him but an arrow shoots into her arm as she screams, dropping the axe to take it out.
Jenny feels her heart stop as she looks toward the direction the arrow came  as she sees a looming figure in the trees. It starts to growl coming closer. The figure is covered in furs with a giant bear head for a face. They put their bow behind their back taking out a large silver axe advancing toward Carrie. Jenny gets up as Joseph and Elizabeth watch in horror as in a flash the figure is on her. She goes to swing her axe at him but she misses as they bring it down to fall square in her forehead. Blood spills everywhere and Jenny gets pulled away as the figure kicks Carrie’s body down getting her off their blade. Joseph rushes Jenny through the woods as Elizabeth takes out a gun from her side as she shoots at the figure. Jenny turns around to see the figure rush toward them, the bullets hitting but not slowing them down. They run faster into the road after taking many twists and turns. They stop to catch their breath not seeing the figure anymore.
“Who the hell was that?” Joseph huffs leaning on a tree and Jenny steps back still holding the owls. They nip and bite at her but she’s too shaken to care.
“I think that was a guy.” Elizabeth breathes looking back at them.
“Let's get out of here.” Joseph looks toward Jenny as she steps back a bit more.
“Jenny, come one. There are just some owls, there are plenty more in the forest.” Elizabeth finishes as an arrow goes through her head and her glasses. The arrow goes straight through landing in the tree Joseph is resting on, with Elizabeth’s brown eye in clear view on the tip. Jenny screams as the figure appears again. Joseph roars at the figure going at him with the machete cutting his arm. The figure lets out a deep groan as his axe collides with Joseph’s Machete. In a split moment the man's head butts Joseph catching him off guard enough to swing the axe across his neck watching as he falls to the ground. Jenny cries out to him as the man drops his axe to rip his head clean off with grunts and groans. With a horrortic tear Joseph’s head swings in his hand as the man throws it behind him. Jenny walks back stumbling a bit.
The man turns his gaze toward her walking forward to her form.
“Please,” She whimpers, tears falling down her face as he takes the owls gently placing them in a pouch on his side cooing at them. Jenny looks at him surprised, but in a quick motion he grabs her neck lifting her off the ground. She claws at him looking into the dark holes of the bear mask as she feels her vision darken and her airway close until she blacks out hearing a howl in the distance.
Jenny wakes up in a hospital room feeling sore and broken. A nurse walks in seeing her state as he rushes over to her. Jenny tries to speak but it doesn’t come out.
“Your windpipe has been damaged, it's going to be awhile until you speak again.” The nurse saids. He gets out a pen and paper from the side and hands it to her. The memories rush back as she starts to cry trying her best to write straight as tears begin to fall.
“What happened?” The doctor looks at the paper reading the words as she nods.
“I’m sorry but your friends are gone.” He saids. She writes again wanting to know what happened to them. A news story picks up in the room. She looks around grabbing the remote to hear the tv.
“Last night four young adults involved in a poaching ring were found dead and mutilated in Everest National Park. The bodies were dismembered and decorated along the forest with their heads on spikes. Only one survived and is recovering in a hospital.”  Jenny covers her mouth watching the news station as she looks out the window to see the fog covering the pines.
