Little Spy
WinterWidow x Daughter!reader
Summary: Natasha and Bucky’s daughter can’t stop scaring Nat with all her little parkour tricks.
———
The Avengers Tower buzzed with activity as Bucky and Natasha tried to balance their duties as Avengers with the joys and challenges of parenthood. Their daughter, Y/N, was a ball of energy at two years old, with a mischievous streak that kept both her parents on their toes.
———
One particularly sunny afternoon, Natasha found herself in the kitchen, preparing snacks for the team. As she chopped vegetables, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Glancing around, her eyes landed the fridge, and there, perched on the top of it, was you, grinning mischievously.
"Buck!" Natasha called out, her voice a mix of amusement and exasperation. "Come see what your daughter's up to now."
Bucky appeared in the doorway, a smirk playing on his lips as he took in the scene. "Looks like she's been perfecting her parkour skills again."
Natasha shook her head, trying to suppress a smile. "She's going to give me a heart attack one of these days."
Meanwhile, you, oblivious to your parents' concern, giggled as you leaped from the fridge to the countertop, then onto the kitchen table. "Look, Mama! I be like Peter!"
Natasha couldn't help herself from being impressed at her daughter's fearlessness but her heart was skipping a beat every time she watched you jumped from surface to surface. "You certainly are, sweetheart. But let's try to keep our feet on the ground, okay?"
Bucky scooped you up into his arms, chuckling as you wrapped your tiny arms around his neck. "You're quite the little spy, aren't you, babydoll?"
You nodded enthusiastically. "I spy with my little eye, Daddy!"
As Bucky carried you out of the kitchen, Natasha couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her little family. Despite the chaos and the constant surprises, she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. She shook her head with a smile and resumed with chopping the vegetables.
———
Later that evening, Bucky was lounging on the couch in the Avengers Tower common room, flipping through a book while sipping his coffee. Natasha sat across from him, tapping away on her laptop, her attention divided between her work and keeping an eye on you.
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the room, followed by Natasha's exasperated sigh. Bucky looked up, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips as he spotted you perched precariously on top of the kitchen counter.
Natasha glanced up from her laptop, her eyes wide with alarm. "Y/N! How did you even get up there?"
You grinned with joy, your giggles flowing out of your mouth as you pointed to a nearby chair. "I climb, Mama!"
Bucky chuckled, setting his book aside. "She’s just like you, Nat."
Natasha shook her head, trying to hide her smile. "She's getting too sneaky!"
Bucky lifted you up from the counter, holding you securely in his arms. "She's just fearless, like her old man."
You giggled, wrapping your tiny arms around Bucky's neck again. "Daddy, watch me climb!"
Bucky grinned, lifting you higher. "Alright, let's see what you've got, babydoll."
You squirmed in excitement, wriggling out of Bucky's grasp and darting across the room. With the agility of what seemed to be from both your parents, you leaped onto the coffee table, then onto the back of the couch, and finishing on a table nearby.
Natasha gasped, her heart leaping into her throat as she watched your daring jumps. "Bucky, she's going to get hurt!"
But Bucky just laughed, his eyes sparkling with pride. "She's fine, Nat. Look at her go!"
You jumped off the table and onto the floor, your tiny feet landing perfectly onto it as you beamed up at your parents. "I did it! I spy like Mama and Daddy!"
Natasha let out a relieved sigh as Bucky gently lifted you back onto his hip. "You certainly are, sweetheart. But let's try to keep the climbing to a minimum, okay?"
You nodded in slight disappointment, it quickly disappeared though when Tony walked in with the takeout for the night, your eyes widened with excitement.
As Bucky sat you down in your hair chair at the Avengers dinner table, Natasha couldn't help but smile. Despite the constant chaos and danger that surrounded them, moments like these reminded her of just how interesting and exciting her little girl was. And with Bucky by her side, she knew they could handle anything that their little spy-in-training threw their way.

“Y/N, get your stuff together, sweetie.” your teacher instructed once she hung up the phone with the main office. You were over at your desk practicing your vocabulary words with your friend Matthew, “Am I in trouble?” you wondered. Was she kicking you out? Did you do something wrong? You’ve never had to pack your bag in the middle of the day.
“No, no, of course not,” your teacher assured, “Your guardian is here to pick you up early,” she explained
“Early?” you weren’t told anything about this before you were dropped off, “Yes, she’s here now, better not to keep her waiting.” she urged.
After getting your things together you hurried to the main office to meet Wanda, or at least that’s who you were expecting. Your confusion continued when you saw Natasha waiting for you alone, “Natty? Where Mama?”
“Hi, Y/N. Oh, Wanda is just waiting for us at home, no need to worry,” she informed you with an eerily wide smile as she ushered you out of the building. Everything felt off, Nat always picked you up into her arms as soon as she saw you after camp. Maybe she was just in a hurry, so you stopped walking, “Natty, uppie?” you suggested with your arms up.
“Oh, sure come here,” she responded as she took you into her arms. The closer the two of you got to the parking lot, you could feel her rustling around in her pockets for something but you ignored it as you rested your head on her shoulder, “Guess what I learned 'bout today!” you offered, since usually, that was the first thing Nat would ask when she picked you up from camp.
“What?” she responded distractedly, not really interested in what you had to say.
“You s'posed to guess,” you urged.
“Ugh, I don’t know kid, 2+2?” she snapped back. You weren’t expecting such a negative response, usually, Natasha was so happy to see you.
“No, I a'ready know dat. I learned dat water uhm, can go from being water, uhm, den it can go into da air and up into da sky and den it comes back down when it rains from da sky. OH and when it gets cold, like really cold water turns solwid like ice and if it's raining den it’s snowing.” you explained with lots of excitement and exclaimated expressions on your face.
“Cool,” Natasha replied unimpressed. As the two of you got closer to the car and further from the school, the parking lot became more desolate. Once you were in a spot that was tucked away and out of the public eye, you noticed that she finally pulled whatever she was looking for out of her pocket.
“Natty, you ok?” you wondered if something was wrong since she seemed so off and uninterested in you.
“Hm? Oh yea, everything is fine,” she assured as you felt a stabbing pain in your left leg causing you to jolt slightly in shock, “OW! Natty, wha's dat?” almost instantly you felt your muscles relax so much that you no longer had control over them, “Na'y?” you fought out as you slumped over. Trying to focus on anything proved to be a challenge as you struggled to keep your eyes from closing. It didn’t take long before it was too much to fight and you slowly drifted away into unconsciousness in her arms.
Tumblr media
When dismissal time rolled around, Wanda and Nat were there 5 minutes early like always. Your teacher was quite concerned to see them there waiting for you when you had already left for the day so she immediately approached the couple with a perplexed expression adorning her features, “What brings you two back here today?”
The two werent expecting to be questioned for something so mundane, “What do you mean? We’re here for Y/N, of course.” Wanda politely chuckled, hoping the teacher was just joking around.
“Y/N already left, you were were here around lunch time to pick her up for early dismissal,” Your teacher informed as she motioned towards Natasha.
Wandas, heartbeat immediately picked up as she began to dial in on her senses, “Early dismissal? This is the first time I’ve been here all day,” Natasha answered and Wanda could see that the teacher wasn’t lying, but neither was Natasha.
Tumblr media
You began to stir slowly, thinking you were down for a nap in your bed. It wasn’t until your eyes fluttered open and you began to focus on the details around you that you noticed you were back in a cell. Once you’re fully awake, you stand up to inspect the door holding you captive. In an attempt to break out, you try to concentrate your powers and quake the door open even though didn’t have high hopes as you have never had full control of your powers, but you figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, your captors were one step ahead of you. Instantly you fell to the ground with an intense pain emanating from the inhibitor they had placed around your neck.
Memories from earlier quickly flooded back to the front of your mind as you quickly jolted yourself into the corner and curled your body into the fetal position. Tears began threatening to spill from your eyes as you remembered who was responsible for your trip back to the cell. Natasha. How could she do this? One of the people you trusted most just betrayed you so easily. Though, that wasn’t anything new for you, in fact, you think to yourself that you really should’ve seen it coming. It’s what they all do. Seems like no one is ever really on your side.
Your spiraling thoughts are interrupted when the door to your cell swings open and 3 people flood in. You try to fold in on yourself and become as small as you can but you're already tight-knit in the corner.
As if your vivid memories weren’t enough, Natasha Romanoff stands before you, and you see every detail in her face with your judicious eyes, “Oh good, étoile, you’re awake.”
The nickname caught your attention. Étoile? Nat never called you étoile. You haven’t heard that nickname since hydra had taken you away. Still, you stayed silent.
Noticing your silent demeanor, the women in front of you continues, “What’s the matter, y/n? Aren’t you happy to be home?”
“dis not home.” you shakenly spat out, “Where's mama?” you cried out.
Squatting down to your level, she peeled the digital cloaking device from her face and sinisterly said, “Don’t worry sweetie, mama is right here.”
You were nothing short of shocked as you saw the true face of the person that took you. To be truthful, you never expected to see your birth mother again, “Ma?” you mumbled unsure of your own eyes.
“It’s me, Étoile.” she assured, “Now be a good girl and behave while they administer your tests for the day,” she instructed.
“We go home? No Poke, please!” you cried, remembering how tortuous your experience was last time you were in a cell.
“Oh, Étoile. You are home. Don’t you understand? This is what you were made for.” she said with a cheeky grin as she waved over the 2 scientists.
Made for? You didn’t understand, you always thought that Hydra stole you away from your mother. Everything you remembered about her was positive, but you didn’t have much time to reflect before you were being tied to a chair and then poked and prodded with needles. Your mother left the cell swiftly before the process began, not to be bothered by your screams of torture.
Tumblr media
Wanda's heart pounded in her chest as she stood in the dimly lit briefing room, empty to everyone but her and the one she called her best friend. Her hands trembled, anger and desperation fueling her determination. You, the child she had accepted wholeheartedly as her own, had been taken by Hydra, and Wanda was consumed by an overwhelming sense of fear, anguish, and guilt. How could she let this happen? She was supposed to be there to protect you.
Tears streamed down her face as she turned to Natasha, her eyes pleading for strength and support. In that moment, Natasha knew that she had to be Wanda's rock, the unwavering presence by her side, offering solace and steadfast determination.
Natasha stepped forward, her voice filled with conviction and a touch of tenderness. "Wanda, we will get Y/N back. We won't rest until she’s safe with us again. I promise you that." she assured as she took Wanda into a sturdy embrace, letting her sob into her shoulder.
Wanda pulled back once the tears began to slow and looked at Natasha, her eyes filled with gratitude and a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. She clung to Natasha's words, finding comfort in her support. "How?"
Nat thought for a moment, “Tony’s got the team on it, once they have a lead we’ll be the first one’s out of here,” she explained, but that wasn’t good enough for Wanda, “No, I- I can’t just sit around here and do nothing.” she sobbed until it clicked, “Wait- let me try something.” she said as she took a seat and closed her eyes to focus her energy on you. The two of you had never connected from this far before but anything was worth a shot if it meant getting you back safe and sound.
Tumblr media
Once the tests were completed, you were left in your cell alone to recover. The dimly lit, virtually windowless chamber located deep within a hidden underground facility was a chilling embodiment of Hydra’s sinister intentions and scientific pursuits. The walls are made of reinforced steel and painted in a lifeless gray color. There are no windows or openings to the outside world, reinforcing the feeling of being trapped and the cell door is heavy and secured by an electronic lock, with no visible handle from the inside. It has a small, reinforced window that allows guards to monitor the occupant. A place where the subject’s powers are studied and manipulated, and the surroundings are deliberately designed to break their spirit and hope.
The only furnishing that adorns the room consists of a worn-out mattress on the floor, a small table with a basic chair, and restraints that are attached to the bed and the chair. The table is usually cluttered with scientific instruments and notebooks. Not to mention, the air in the cell is perpetually cool, contributing to a sense of discomfort and unease.
As you’re laying there drifting in and out of sleep, you hear Wanda’s voice and immediately wonder if you’re dreaming, “Y/N, can you hear me?”
“Mama?” you answer back telepathically, “detka, oh my god, are you ok?” she was so relieved to solidify the connection with you.
“Mama, where are you? Wanna come home” you answered back, wanting nothing more than to be back at the compound with Wanda. Safe with her.
“I know sweetie, we’re going to come and get you, I promise. Are you hurt? Do you know where you are?” she tried to assure you as much as she could, maybe even believing her own words more as she said them.
You explained everything that you had gone through today and tried your hardest to describe where you were being held but you didn’t know exactly where they were holding you. As Wanda's determined thoughts intertwined with yours, she was able to take in all the information you had. In the midst of darkness, your telepathic conversation became a lifeline of hope and reassurance. Wanda's thoughts were a beacon of love, guiding you through the darkness and fear.
“It was her birth mother.” Wanda uttered to Nat in shock once she concluded the conversation with you.
Tumblr media
With a better understanding of what they were dealing with, the two of them went to brief the team on their new findings. Everyone in the compound worked on overdrive to try and find a lead as to where you were being held. Days turned into weeks as they chased leads, infiltrated secret hideouts, and fought their way through Hydra's defenses.
Through it all, Wanda would reach out to you every day to check in, update you on their efforts, and try to provide any sense of comfort that she could and Natasha remained Wanda's constant pillar of strength, offering a reassuring presence in the face of adversity. During sleepless nights and moments of doubt, Natasha was there, holding Wanda close, reminding her that they were in this together. "We're going to bring Y/N home, Wanda. She’s our family, and nothing will stop us from finding her."
Their search for the Hydra base was a strenuous journey through a web of secrecy and deception. It began with a series of covert operations, hacking into encrypted files, and gathering intelligence from their extensive network of contacts. The leads were scarce, but their determination was unyielding.
This night, in particular, the weight of the situation finally became too much for Wanda to bear. She had retreated to her room, her heart heavy with a sense of helplessness that she had become far too familiar with from the loss of her parents and her brother, except this time, it felt different. This time, she had the chance to save you, to protect you and she just kept failing. Sitting on the edge of her bed, her hands trembling, she buried her face in her palms and let out a choked sob. The frustration, fear, and guilt that had been building inside her finally erupted in a torrent of tears.
She cried for the innocent child who had been taken, for the suffering you were going through, and for her own inability to bring you back. Her breakdown was a raw and cathartic release of emotions that she had been holding back for far too long, unintentionally expressing her powers in a way that could be felt throughout the whole compound. Instead of trying to calm her, the team thought it best for her to let it out in that moment instead, and if it got to be too much they would intervene. Truthfully, Natasha would've been right by her side in an instant if she didn't feel like she was on the cusp of important intel.
As the tears flowed, Wanda's mind raced, and in her anguish, she began to replay every detail of the situation, every piece of information they had gathered, searching for something, anything that they might have missed.
It was in this vulnerable moment, as she let herself fully feel the depth of her emotions, that a small glimmer of insight emerged. Amidst her tears, Wanda's mind began to connect the dots in a way it hadn't before. She realized that the clues they had gathered pointed to a location they hadn't considered – a place that she had heard whispers about during her time at Hydra but had never been to herself.
Wanda's breathing steadied as she wiped away her tears, her mind now focused and clear. She knew what needed to be done. Without wasting another moment, she rushed downstairs to find Natasha
Meanwhile, Natasha managed to intercept a coded message from an anonymous source containing coordinates and a cryptic message that hinted at Hydra's involvement in a desolate region.
As Wanda rounded the corner to the lab, the two of them locked eyes and from the look on each other's faces, they could both tell that they shared a similar realization, "She's in Norway!" They both shouted in unison, "How do you know?" Wanda questioned, wondering what led Nat to the realization, "Come, look at this," Nat waved her over to show her the intel she had intercepted.
Without hesitation, Wanda and Natasha gathered the team to follow this lead, their hope renewed by the prospect of finally locating the hidden base.
The coordinates led them to a remote forested area far away from populated regions in Norway. As they cautiously ventured deeper into the wilderness, they discovered signs of recent human activity that didn't match the surrounding environment. A faint humming sound filled the air, a sign of advanced technology hidden beneath the surface.
Using their combined skills, Natasha and Tony uncovered a concealed entrance to an underground facility. The entrance was camouflaged to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape, a tactic Hydra often employed to evade detection. The two Avengers shared a knowing glance, their determination solidified as they realized they were closing in on their target.
With stealth and caution, the team navigated through the dimly lit corridors of the underground base. The air was heavy with tension, the walls seemingly holding the secrets of Hydra's sinister operations. As they approached a heavily guarded door, Wanda’s telepathic connection proved invaluable as she sensed the presence of minds within, confirming that they were on the right track.
Tony's hacking skills came into play as he disabled security measures, allowing them to breach the inner chambers of the base. What they discovered left them both horrified and fueled their determination further. Among the confidential documents and experimentation records, they found references to you, confirming some of their worst fears.
“This is it, I know it.” Wanda confirmed, feeling it in her gut that you weren’t far.
Once they breached the main door, there were several hallways that led in different directions, so they set off in smaller groups to cover ground.
In the dimly lit corridors of the Hydra base, Wanda and Natasha's hearts pounded in unison. Their steps were silent, every movement calculated to avoid detection while they closed in on your location. As they turned a corner, they encountered a group of Hydra operatives standing guard outside a reinforced door. Wanda raised her hand slightly, gesturing for Natasha to stand back.
Wanda’s telepathic powers allowed them to communicate silently, sharing a plan without a word spoken. Natasha nodded in agreement, her eyes narrowing with determination. With a focused look, Wanda unleashed her telekinetic powers, sending nearby metal pipes hurtling toward the operatives. The clang of metal striking metal echoed through the corridor as chaos erupted.
Startled by the sudden assault, the operatives scrambled to defend themselves, drawing their weapons in an attempt to fight back. On cue, Natasha emerged from the shadows, her movements a blur of precise strikes and calculated maneuvers. She incapacitated one after another with her lethal grace, using her combat skills to disarm and disable the threat swiftly.
Wanda's crimson energy flared as she repelled bullets and incoming attacks with a deft wave of her hand. The walls themselves seemed to respond to her power, creating barriers and distractions that kept the Hydra agents off balance. As she engaged in the battle, her mind remained focused on the task at hand: reaching you before it was too late.
The sound of a distant alarm reverberated through the corridors, signaling the base's heightened state of alert. Wanda's determination burned brighter, her powers intensifying as she fought to clear a path toward your cell. Natasha's acrobatic maneuvers and sharpshooting skills cleared the way ahead, allowing Wanda to push forward without hesitation.
As they breached the inner chambers of the base, they confronted a larger group of Hydra operatives led by Brock Rumlow. The stakes were higher, but Wanda and Natasha's resolve remained unshaken. Wanda's hands glowed with raw energy, her telekinesis and telepathy intertwining in a symphony of power that left Hydra agents disoriented and vulnerable.
Natasha's movements were a fluid dance of combat expertise, as she used her environment to her advantage. She disarmed opponents with precision, her strikes quick and lethal. With every enemy she incapacitated, her gaze remained locked on Rumlow, their silent exchange a testament to the intensity of the battle.
Amidst the chaos, Rumlow's laughter rang out, confident that his forces would overcome the duo. But he underestimated the strength of their bond and the depth of their love for you. As the battle raged on, Wanda's emotions ignited her powers to unprecedented heights, causing the very walls of the hideout to tremble.
With a fierce cry, Wanda sent a wave of energy surging towards Rumlow, disorienting him long enough for Natasha to close the distance. Their combined assault was relentless, their every move coordinated and precise. In a final, climactic clash, Wanda's telekinetic force collided with Natasha's formidable combat skills, overwhelming Rumlow's defenses.
As the dust settled, the once menacing Hydra operatives lay defeated on the ground, and Rumlow himself was immobilized. Wanda and Natasha shared a moment of exhaustion and triumph, their breaths labored and their bodies battered from the intense battle. But their relief was short-lived, as their focus turned towards the reinforced door that separated them from you.
With a shared nod of persistence, they approached the door, and Wanda shattered the barrier with her powers, revealing your cell. The sight of you, fragile and weak, ignited a plethora of emotions within them.
As they reunited with you, tears of joy streamed down Wanda's face. She quickly scooped you into her arms, holding you tightly, apologizing profusely, and promising to protect you from any harm. You clung to her as tightly as you could, still slightly out of it from all of the physical torment you've been through but her presence was enough to soothe you. Beside her, Natasha's eyes filled with unshed tears, a silent testament to their shared triumph and unyielding love for you. You were so happy to see Wanda, feeling like you could finally relax again in her arms.
In that moment, as they held you close, Wanda knew that she owed a debt of gratitude to Natasha. She had been her guiding light, her unwavering support, throughout the harrowing fight to get you back. They had fought side by side, risking everything for the sake of their family.
Once they were safely out of the base and back onto the jet, Wanda looked at Natasha, her voice filled with love and gratitude. "Nat, you've been my rock through all of this. I-I really couldn't have done it without you.” she said sincerely as you layed asleep in her lap, “Thank you for always being there, for fighting alongside me, and for reminding me of the strength we have together."
Natasha's eyes softened, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she gently puts her arm around Wanda, "Wanda, we're a team. We always have been, and always will be. Y/N is our family, and we'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe."
Natasha's words hung in the air, a powerful reminder of their shared commitment to you and maybe even each other. Wanda met Natasha's gaze, her heart pounding in her chest as the intensity of the moment settled between them. There was a noticeable connection, a current of unspoken emotions that surged between them, binding them even closer together.
In that charged moment, Wanda's hesitation melted away. She leaned in without another thought, her lips finding Natasha's in a gentle and tender kiss. It was a kiss that held years of unspoken feelings, a culmination of shared experiences, and the promise of a future filled with love and support. The world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that moment of intimacy and vulnerability.
Once Wanda's inner anxiety caught up to her, she abruptly pulled away, "I-I'm sorry," she blurted out so afraid that she had just ruined one of the best things in her life.
Natasha's fingers brushed against Wanda's cheek, her touch gentle and reassuring, guiding her to meet her gaze "Wanda," she whispered, her voice a soft murmur that sent shivers down Wanda's spine. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Wanda smiled, a mixture of emotions flooding her senses – happiness, relief, and a deep sense of rightness. "Me too."
Their lips met again, this time with a hunger born of years of suppressed emotions. The kiss was deeper, and more passionate, as if they were pouring all their unspoken words and desires into the connection between them. It was a kiss that spoke of understanding, acceptance, and the promise of a love that had always been there, just waiting to be acknowledged.
As they pulled away, their foreheads still resting against each other, Wanda felt a sense of completeness that she had never experienced before. She had found not only a partner in Natasha but a kindred spirit, someone who understood the complexities of her heart and the depth of her emotions. And in that moment, as they sat in the aftermath of their kiss, Wanda knew that their journey together was just beginning and for the first time in her life, she felt excited to see what her future would hold with her chosen family.
Tumblr media
Once you all returned to the safety of the Avengers compound, the atmosphere was a mixture of relief, exhaustion, and an overwhelming sense of triumph. They had faced down Hydra, rescued you, and emerged from the battle victorious. But the emotional toll of the ordeal was palpable, especially for you who had endured the trauma of being captured by the enemy. It took about a week once you arrived home to be discharged from medical.
Wanda and Natasha’s first priority was ensuring your physical and emotional well-being. They took their time comforting you, understanding that the scars of the experience would take time to heal. As much as they wanted to explore this new chapter in their own relationship, they both agreed that you came first. Once things felt normal again, Nat already had a special date planned in her head.
Until then, Wanda used her powers to create a warm and comforting environment, conjuring a soothing atmosphere that helped you feel at ease. You spent hours in the living area, surrounded by blankets and soft lighting, engaging in gentle activities that would help you transition back to a sense of normalcy. You played games, shared stories, and simply enjoyed each other's company.
However, the effects of the traumatizing experience couldn't be ignored. your sleep became troubled by nightmares again, and both Wanda and Natasha tried to take turns staying by your side, offering comfort and security during the dark hours, but you only wanted Wanda. It was hard for you to look at Nat the same after she kidnapped you. Even though you knew it wasn’t actually her, you were still having a hard time feeling comfortable with her.
This gutted Natasha, every time you shied away from her or asked for Wanda instead. She was worried that she had lost you forever and things would never go back to normal, but Wanda was there to assure her that it would just take you some time.
As days turned into weeks, the wounds of the past began to mend. With their loving guidance, your smiles returned, your laughter grew more genuine, and the light in your eyes rekindled. You engaged in activities that brought joy, like exploring the compound's gardens, conducting science experiments with Peter, and even embarking on imaginative adventures that only a child's mind could conceive.
One night after a long day with Wanda, the three of you had decided to watch a movie before bed and instead of sitting on the end next to Wanda, you climbed in the middle of Wanda and Nat, snuggling up to them while the movie played. That small action meant the world to Natasha, as she could finally see things were getting back to normal.

One thing that Natasha had always made clear with you, was that she wanted you to have everything that she couldn't. The whole nine yards. She tried her absolute best to make sure that you had meals you loved on your plate every day, provided you with all the resources you could need to pursue whatever hobby you wanted and made sure that you were well-socialised with those your own age, and your family.
She wanted you to want for nothing.
Some may say that Natasha had spoiled you, but anyone who knew Natasha would know that this was not the case. Yes, she kept you stocked up on things you wanted, and yes, she tried to wrap you up in a little bubble so that you would never have to see the horrors of the world, but you were not spoiled. She made sure that you earned things that were not a necessity, except for the occasional gift when she wanted to surprise you.
Another thing that Natasha had always made clear with you is that you have to work to achieve. The world will not hand you everything on a grand silver platter.
The world could also be cruel. She hated that it was a guarantee that it would be cruel to you at some point in your life. If it were up to her she would make sure that it never happens, but that was impossible, so she gave you the tools that you needed to survive and thrive.
She taught you to be strong mentally, but to not make the mistake of shutting people out as she often did. She taught you how to run fast and to hit hard. On paper, you were all prepared for the real world, even at your young age. But in Natasha's mind, she would never be ready to send you out, but another thing that she wanted for you was your freedom.
Natasha was always complimented for the way that you had turned out so far. Having raised you to be a well-rounded and experienced child, you got on with most people who entered your life. Making Natasha a very proud mother whenever she watched you interact with those around you or your environment in general.
Powered by ambition you always sought out ways to put your best foot forward just like your Mom.
Being fast and athletic, at school you gravitated towards being on the track team, which is something that your Mom always encouraged, seeing the way your eyes lit up when you talked about how various practices went.
Having never gotten the opportunity to attend school, and therefore teams and clubs, seeing you get that experience always put a smile on Natasha's face. She wanted the experience to be perfect for you.
So, she sold her sports car to buy a classic Mom Minivan to be able to take you and your friends to various inter-school track meets and competitions, always making sure the pockets and doors were full of water bottles and healthy snacks for the journeys. She learnt how to sew so that she could fix your uniform if you ever ripped it, which happened often because you were somewhat of a clutz.
That was the main difference between you and Natasha, every movement of hers was calculated and precise, whereas you moved around as though you had eight limbs. You were always grateful for the fact that your Mom's reflexes were out of this world, as it meant that she always appeared out of nowhere just as you were about to injure yourself.
Mothering you was a double full-time job. But it was one that Natasha wouldn't give up for the world.
You were well aware of Natasha's past, she liked to be transparent with you. So, when most of your friends got embarrassed when they thought their moms were being too enthusiastic about their lives and achievements, you couldn't relate.
Seeing the smile and pure joy on your Mom's face when you told her about your day, what you had been up to, or when she saw you in action on the track, that was enough for pride to beam through your own chest.
Life had given her so many battles, but she had overcome them all.
Every single one.
She fought for her life on the daily and came out on top, and now she is living the very life that she had always wanted since her youth.
So, when you had gotten through to the track finals, where you alone represented your school against the other schools in the state, it was not a surprise when Natasha was acting more frantic than normal that morning to get you to the school on time. She just simply wouldn't be able to forgive herself if you missed out on something that you had worked so hard for just because she was late.
Even though she was on track to get you there forty minutes early.
"Mom, you can slow down a bit you know, you're gonna pull a muscle", you spoke before taking a hefty bite out of an apple. Natasha gave you a pointed look at first as she triple checked that your bag had everything, but her face softened after a few seconds.
"I know, I know, but it's your big day! I don't want anything to ruin it for you".
Chuckling lightly, you moved around the kitchen island and towards Nat who promptly pulled you into a side hug. "Nothing's gonna ruin it, Mom, promise", you grinned up at her, receiving an identical grin in return.
---
Whilst completing your pre-race stretches, you looked up to the stands after hearing your friends yelling your name in support, after all, you were the only one competing for your school's glory. You smiled and waved at them, and spotted your Mom behind them. She was animatedly talking to the other Moms of your school. Not being able to help it, you shook your head lightly with a chuckle.
She was like this at every track competition, but it's nothing that you would want to ever change.
Not before long, you and the other runners were being called up to the track. Exhaling a deep breath you slowly walked over with the others, before placing yourself in position.
Focus.
Taking deep breaths, you looked ahead. Your jaw clenched in anticipation, waiting for the horn to sound to signal your sprint. It was always torture having to wait, the adrenaline always made you want to lurch forward before you heard the signal, but that would mean immediate disqualification. It was a lot of pressure.
When the sound of the blaring horn rang through the air, you started immediately at a quick speed, settling into second place.
Your legs moved as fast as they could as your chest rhythmically fell up and down as your subconscious kept your body in the right posture, after years of training you didn't have to think about it anymore.
What you did have to think about was moving your legs faster, you would not settle for second.
As you reached halfway you were neck and neck with the person who was previously in front of you. She was fast.
Your legs hurt from the exertion but hearing the people in the stands cheering you all on powered you through, especially knowing that a certain someone was watching you. So, with all of the power that your muscles could muster, you picked up the pace in the last quarter, sprinting forward at an unfathomable speed, very quickly putting great distance between you and your opponents.
Your strides lengthened as you reached the last few steps, trying to ensure that you would be the first to pass the line.
The whistle blew, and the crowd cheered.
You did it.
As you collapsed onto your knees in your lane, your chest heaving to get in the oxygen and rid your muscles of the lactic acid, you could hear a very familiar cheer from a very familiar person, a breathless grin erupting on your face.
The few moments that you had to catch your breath were soon ended when your teammates hoisted you up off of the floor and into a group hug. Oxygen was once again not a luxury that you could afford as they started jumping up and down with you in their hold, your brain being jostled about all over the place in the process.
But you couldn't help but laugh, you had done it. Years and years of training and hard work had led to this moment.
And you had done it.
The crowd soon dissipated to make their way over to the main area where the awards would be held, leaving you space to move again. Within seconds you spotted your Mom walking up to you, a smirk on her face as she opened her arms for you to move into. You didn't hesitate to run forward into her hold, even with your legs that felt like jelly.
"I did it!", you spoke against her shoulder, where your face was smushed against.
"Hell yeah you did! I'm so proud of you sweetheart", Natasha lightly moved you away from her so that she could cup your cheeks and press a kiss against your forehead, "So proud", she grinned down at you, her eyes shining the usual way they do whenever they look at you.
Full of love, and full of pride.

wish i’d never grown up
Summary: Natasha adopted you as a baby, and now she gets to see you grow up
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x daughter!Reader
Word Count: 2586
Warnings: Angst. Endgame canon compliant
A/N: Was writing fluff. Taylor Swift came on. This happened instead. Anyway if it isn’t clear, based on and including lyrics from Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift, and the text in quotation marks is Natasha talking.
—————————————————
“I had no clue what I was doing. A baby was never in my plans, never in my training-”
Your little hands wrapped around my finger And it's so quiet in the world tonight
“-but from my first moments with you, I knew I was going to learn. For you.”
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming So I tuck you in, turn on your favourite nightlight
One of your first memories, so mundane, a fragmented clip of when she laid the blanket over you, and pulled you back into the realm of consciousness just long enough to feel a soft press of lips to your forehead. The loop repeated, but the other senses took priority, you could still hear the click of the nightlight, the warmth of her embrace, you could practically still feel her arms around you, keeping you safe.
To you, everything's funny You got nothing to regret I'd give all I have, honey If you could stay like that
You had no idea then, but you knew now, everything your mother carried with her. Countless lifetimes’ worth of choices and actions she never should have been forced to take, all of which she kept from you, too fearful of what might happen if she exposed you to any of it. You could imagine it now, everything she had to bear, the permanent sorrow in her eyes even as she laughed along with you, the marks on her features that would never fade, no matter how often you caused her to smile. A decade would pass before you’d learn about the childhood she had survived; before you learnt that she had never been as carefree as you had been in that moment. That she was never allowed to be.
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
“I’d never seen someone so innocent, so free from life’s scars. Like my own little Pandora, you radiated hope with every smile and brought joy back into my world. I’d seen so much, but none of it with a perspective like yours. With you, I could experience the world again, live another life and spend it all with you. And I could protect you, do everything I could so you would never experience the life I led before you.”
I won't let nobody hurt you Won't let no one break your heart And no one will desert you Just try to never grow up Never grow up
She protected you from hurt, but a life cannot be lived without some scrapes and bruises. You got plenty of those in the physical sense, climbing and running and playing, but a kiss and a band-aid from your mother, maybe even some encouraging words, and everything was better. You remembered the first time a wound scarred, you’d been so worried when weeks passed and it still didn’t match your skin. You ran to her immediately, holding it out and sobbing. She took your arm in both hands, laying a kiss to your wound before wiping the tears from your eyes.
She’d knelt in front of you, lifting her sleeve to show her own scar, a pale blotch in just the same area. “We’re matching,” she’d told you, “it’s healed just the right amount, it’s a reminder of what you got through, but it’s not holding you back.”
“I can still remember your first scar, a little blotch on your left arm. You fell over in the playground and ran over, asking me to patch it up. We chose out your band aid together, you wanted the one with the dogs on, so that’s what you got. A few weeks later and you were running over again, crying about why it hadn’t healed. I showed you my own scar, and I think that was the first time you saw it - you were so shocked, I reckon you’d thought I was invincible. You ran away immediately when I said it wouldn’t heal - I thought I’d scared you - but you came running back with the band-aids, patching me up with a dog just so I would match you. You even pulled it in for a kiss, promising it would get better thanks to your help. Maybe that scar didn’t, but I am certain others started to heal that day.”
You're in the car on the way to the movies And you're mortified your mom's dropping you off At fourteen, there's just so much you can't do And you can't wait to move out someday and call your own shots
Your mother was famous… for all the wrong reasons. It had been fun for a bit after the Battle of New York, people recognised her as your mother, they all wanted to be your friend, pestering you with questions you were more than happy to answer. You were proud of your mum, and took every opportunity to talk about her, but the more they asked, the more you realised you didn’t know.
She’d explained it to you calmly after you confronted her about all the questions. She explained her past, her childhood, her job, only a slightly censored version to make sure it was appropriate for you to know. She knew none of it was appropriate for you, but it was an important part of her, and you wanted to know her, so she told you all the things she hoped to keep you safe from.
Everyone found out a couple of years later anyway, when she leaked SHIELD’s documents about her. You hated the media frenzy, having to hear everyone at school discuss your mother in so much detail, some of them even reciting the media’s venomous words about her, and nothing you could do would change their minds.
When your friends invited you to go watch a movie, you wanted a break from it all. To be dropped off by The Black Widow would just spark up the debate again and you couldn’t take it. Soon enough you’d be able to drive yourself, or maybe not live so far away from the city in the middle of nowhere, and you wouldn’t have to rely on your mum dropping you off everywhere. One day. You had to grow up first.
You asked to be dropped off around the corner, that way they wouldn’t see her. You hurried out the car, muttering a ‘will do’ in response to her ‘stay safe!’. With your eyes down, you didn’t notice the tears in hers, or the slight tremble in her voice.
But don't make her drop you off around the block Remember that she's getting older, too
“I didn’t have anything to miss while I grew up, nor anyone who would miss me. I had no warning that it was going to be this hard.”
And don't lose the way that you dance around In your PJs getting ready for school Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little
“My handlers didn’t want me to grow up, yet they forced me to. To see you growing up at your own pace, of your own choice, brings some indescribable feeling. I’m glad of the life you got to live and I’m proud of who you’re growing into. There really is no training for taking in a baby, and for once, I was happy to learn on the way.
But I can never forget the people you were, and I hope you never lose them either. The baby we rescued at the expense of peaceful nights… the toddler who used to cry on the way to school, never wanting to be apart from me… to the child I had to wake up with blasting music because a dance party was the only way to get you up. I wish things could stay this simple, that you could stay so full of life, you may have to get older, but don’t you ever grow up. We can always have this.”
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple No one's ever burned you Nothing's ever left you scarred And even though you want to Just try to never grow up
The first time you argued with friends, your mother was the first to reassure you everything would be okay, on a day where nothing felt like it would be okay again. She held you close and let you cry, telling you it would always be okay to run right back to her.
"We'll go for a drive," she said to you, and you did, she drove you aimlessly at first, just letting you talk until you felt more like yourself. Then she found an aim, taking you to an arcade and besting you at every game. Sure she was trying to make you feel better, but not to the point of letting you win - and you wouldn't have accepted it any other way.
You wanted to live in that moment forever, away from the troubles of life, away from the independence that she had allowed, to just stay with her. Playing games just like when you were a little kid.
Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room Memorise what it sounded like when your dad gets home Remember the footsteps, remember the words said And all your little brother's favourite songs
It was Yelena who came to pick you up. You had no idea what was going on; you’d been sitting in your room one moment, finishing homework and waiting for your mum to come home. She liked to order take out after a mission, and in advance of her arrival, you’d written out some options; she could make the final choice on what to get when she was home, but you’d narrowed it down to a few you wanted.
Suddenly the room changed around you, your pale walls darkening to a deep red. Your desk, your homework, your scrap bits of paper were all gone, everything vanished, and you hit the floor with a thud. It had been too sudden for you to catch yourself, and you knew your back would end up bruised.
“Mum?” you called, eyes darting around every corner of this new room. The views were the same, the windows opening to the same scene you could picture with your eyes closed, you’d seen it every day of your life. You were in the same location then, but what had happened to your room? A king sized bed took up half the space, replacing any furniture you had kept in that area, a mirror and dresser took up the corners. Footsteps ran towards your door and your hope grew that it was your mother, coming to explain everything, but she’d taught you better than that. You remembered her footsteps, and those weren’t them.
You dove under the bed, rolling right to the centre to minimise your chances of being seen. You tried to even your breathing, but all of the preparation didn’t prepare you for something to actually happen, your sight was blurred by tears and you bit your own knuckle to mask your breaths.
“Hello?” A man spoke. You stayed quiet. A hum. The man seemed to take the silence as an answer and walked out, shutting the door behind him. You stayed hidden as you listened to his footsteps fade, before rushing out from under the bed and throwing the windows open. You’d practised this with your mum, and luckily the exterior of the house was unchanged. You grabbed the ledge and swung your body over, closing the windows again to erase suspicion, then shuffled along the side panels until you reached the water pipes. You’d been told they were reinforced and you hoped that was still the case as you grabbed on and slid down.
Dropping off at the end, you ran into the safety of the trees you had spent so much of your childhood in, the trail had become overgrown, but you knew the route by heart, and found yourself at the treehouse before you even knew the path you were following. It was still there, still intact, and you climbed up to it without a second thought, tucking yourself tight in the corner before you took your phone out.
You filed through the contacts before you found it: Mum. You hit call.
It rang, and it rang, and it continued to ring. Why wasn’t she picking up? You needed her, where was she? Even on most missions she could still have her phone set to answer you. You tried again, and again, and again and again. Then another contact popped up, someone calling you; Yelena.
“Auntie Lena?” you sobbed.
“Y/N, where are you? Are you safe? Is Nat with you?”
“I’m in the treehouse, there’s people in the house and mum isn’t picking up.”
“She’s not answering me either… I will come and collect you, stay there, I will get you safe.”
I just realised everything I have is someday gonna be gone So here I am in my new apartment In a big city, they just dropped me off It's so much colder than I thought it would be So I tuck myself in and turn my nightlight on
Your first memory was made here. A little room adjacent to your mother’s.
The space was only ever designed for one person, so as soon as you outgrew the room, Natasha bought the house every other memory was made in, and the two of you made it your own.
Now it was just you. There was no need for a two person space, so you were back. In a room that was yours, yet still felt so new. You didn’t fit the bed, it was designed for a toddler after all, but it was yours, and the alternative was sleeping in a bed that was hers.
She wasn’t here to tuck you in anymore, to stir you awake with a kiss on the forehead, or to hold you as you fell asleep. You both grew up, and that left you alone. She would never do it again.
You pulled the covers up to your chin. It didn’t bring the same warmth you craved from your memory, and your nightlight shone dimly.
If this was growing up - a life without her - then you wish you’d never grown up.
Wish I'd never grown up I wish I'd never grown up And even though you want to Please try to never grow up
“And now you’re gone. I don’t know what to do, so I wrote this because I don’t want to forget one bit of you. I don’t want to forgive myself for this, I promised I’d give all I had to keep you safe.
I didn’t do enough.
I wish we’d never grown up, life could have stayed so simple, I would have never reached an age where I could lose you. I’ve been told there’s a chance to get you back, a small, dangerous one, but it’ll be worth it to me.
I might not be here if you get back, but I hope you find this journal, and remember, my darling, to never grow up, not properly.
But I need to do this, so you at least have a chance to grow up.
I love you, Y/N.
Your mother always,
Natasha”

Hi Darling! I just had this thought that it would be really funny if Nat a TONY had a child...ik it sounds crazy but bro go big or go home
What if Natasha and Tony had a child.
Tumblr media
Word count: 1097
Summary: Natasha and Tony as your parents.
Pairing: Tony Stark x Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark x child!reader, Natasha Romanoff x child!reader.
Warnings: none
Note: Hey anon, I hope you like this, please let me know if there's any mistake.
Also, this is a world where Nat can have her own kids.
Tumblr media
- You would have been an accident, that's for sure.
- A loved one, ok?
- Tony and Nat would be very good at dividing their responsibilities together, it wouldn't be too difficult since the three of you would live in the avengers tower.
- You would have the best connections on the planet.
- Need some advice? Go to Steve, a kid is bothering you at school? Go to Clint, need help with your homework? Bruce will help in a heartbeat.
- But, really, you'd be the most loved.
- It wouldn't have been easy at first, for anyone it isn't, but the moment they both had you in their arms, any worries would disappear.
- They would NEVER but NEVER fight in your presence.
- Maybe not even if you weren't there, they are polar opposites but both are mature.
- Natasha would be the bad cop and Tony would be the good cop.
Nat: Today is fun day with mom!
Y/N:
Nat: Aren't you going to act happy?
Tony: Last time you tried to get carried away they ended up throwing up in the car...
- You'd wear only stupidly expensive clothes, courtesy of Daddy Tony.
- But Natasha would make sure to keep you grounded.
- Needless to say, Clint would be the best uncle in the world, he knows Natasha so well he would know how to get her on your side at every problem, or almost.
Y/N: I think mom was right.
Clint: I'm surprised she haven't marched in here to say 'I told you so.'
Tony: She wouldn't do that.
Natasha: You're right, Tony. For once in your life, you're 100% right. I would never say that.
Natasha: *turns around, the shirt she's wearing says 'Natasha Told You So' on the back*.
- THE PARTIES.
- Even though Tony and Nat aren't a couple, they would go to Avengers parties together to keep you feeling warm all night.
- Natasha would be the cutest holding your hand in hers at all times.
- As you get older, they become more protective.
- Neither likes it to be a public focus and would do anything for you to have a normal life.
- Tony loves picnics together, he just won't admit it.
- Natasha also won't admit that turning to him for advice has served her well.
- Can you imagine the bear hugs they would give you together on your birthday?
- Doing homework with you in a common area like the kitchen is one of Tony's favorite activities, more so when Nat is there to make breakfast.
- Speaking of food, forget about Tony cooking dinner.
Y/N: DAD HELP! I TOLD MOM I'D COOK DINNER TONIGHT BUT I CAN'T COOK!
Tony, pouring milk directly into the cereal bag: And you thought I could help?
- Both of them would be patient with you accepting that they are not a couple, very understanding.
- Thanks to that it wasn't hard for you to accept Pepper, after all she was always there too.
- Your are also close with Clint's family.
Y/N: Mom, I wanna go to the center with Lila, can I?
Tony: Who's even she?
Nat: There's no way u don't know who she is.
Tony: I was obviously just kidding...
Tony, whispering: Who is she?
Y/N also whispering: Uncle's Clint daughter.
Nat: Unbelievable.
- Yeah, he didn't know about Clint's family.
- Natasha was disappointed about that.
- Then we have Christmas, where even if Tony wanted to spend all his money on gifts for you, Nat won't let him.
- She'd rather go out for a relaxing dinner, have each other's presence as a gift, she's lost too many to not value that.
- You'd eat tacos, or have a simple soup, play in the snow and cuddle to keep warm.
- Nat would make sure that both you and Tony would appreciate each other.
- Since Peter is so close to Tony, he would also be close to you.
- Peter isn't good keeping secrets from you.
- The older you got and the closer you got to adolescence, Nat's need to take pictures of everything would become more urgent.
- Natasha loves to talk about your day, she loves that you have the confidence with her to do that.
- Later, you would move in with Nat in a separate house.
- Tony would really miss you, like, a lot.
- It wouldn't be too far from the city, but it would be a little out of the way.
- Nat made the new place feel like home pretty quickly.
- In her words "It wasn't hard, you're my home"
- You and Nat love to tend your garden together.
- It's a secret, but making fruit salad for you is something that makes her very happy.
- Whenever you had a disagreement, you'd talk it out maturely, courtesy of Nat teaching you that.
- You'd spend most weekends with Tony, even more days if you were both free.
- Then he'd have Morgan.
- Far from being sad or disappointed, you were thrilled.
- Tony was so excited to tell you that he almost threw a bucket of water on you to wake you up.
- You were a great support to both him and Pepper during the pregnancy.
- Nat was also excited that you were going to experience having a little sister.
- She would spend more time with Pepper talking about her experience as your mother.
- She would also teach you how to change diapers for when the time came.
- When Morgan came into the world you took it upon yourself to take care of her so Pepper could get some well-deserved breaks.
- But even while taking care of your little sister, you never neglected your studies.
- Both Nat and Tony were proud of that.
- From now on, Christmas, birthdays, family celebrations in general, would be the five of you.
- The older you got, the more Nat felt it was right to teach you some fighting techniques, so you could defend yourself.
- Tony didn't want her to be too hard on you, you weren't an avenger after all.
- That's why he took you with him to hang out whenever he could, to take your mind off of everything.
*You and Tony are sitting in jail together*
Y/N: So who should we call?
Tony: I’d call your mom, but I feel safer in jail.
- Someday you will tell that story to Pepper and Morgan, probably not soon.
- But that's what your family is all about, a chaotic mess that you love and that loves you.
- You will always be grateful that Nat and Tony will handle co-parenting the way they did.
- And they will always be grateful to each other for the support they gave each other.

winterwidows daughter having a full blown argument with Tony bcs only Tony would argue with a 3 year old
Toddler Showdown
WinterWidow x Daughter!Reader
Summary: You get into a fight with your Uncle Tony
———
The storm raged outside of the Avengers Tower, Tony and Y/N sat on the floor of the Avengers Lounge, drawing pictures and chatting. It didn’t take long for an argument to break out.
You stood her ground, hands on your hips, glaring up at Tony with all the determination you could muster. "No, Uncle Tony! I want the red crayon, not the blue one!" you declared, your tiny voice carrying surprising authority.
Tony raised an eyebrow, amused yet undeterred by the pint-sized challenger before him. "Well, Y/N, you see, the thing is, the blue crayon matches your eyes much better," he countered, his trademark smirk playing on his lips.
You scrunched up her face, unimpressed. "I don't care about my eyes, Mr. Fancy Pants. I want the red one!" you insisted with a yell, your tone dripping with sass.
Tony sighed, leaning down to your level and speaking with an irritated down. "Listen, kid, I've got a whole collection of Stark Industries crayons here, and trust me, the red one is so last season. You're better off with the blue. It's more... avant-garde."
You narrowed your eyes, unyielding. "Stop using big words, Uncle Tony! No one cares about your avo-garden!" she retorted, an annoyed and angry glint dancing in her eyes.
Tony shook his head, his huffing blending with the amused chuckles of nearby Avengers who had gathered to witness the spectacle. "Hey Y/N, that’s not nice, you can’t speak to me that way. I’m older and you are three therefore, you listen to me," he said in a tone that said he was done with the situation, he started taking her the red crayon with a gentle tug. "Mark my words, one day you'll appreciate the finer things in life."
You snatched back the crayon with a victorious grin, your triumph was evident on your face and proudly displayed as you showed your prize to your parents, who watched with equal parts amusement and pride.
Natasha and Bucky exchanged amused glances, impressed at their daughter's feisty spirit. "Looks like she takes after both of us," Natasha remarked, her eyes twinkling with affection.
Bucky chuckled and knelt down to your level. "Did you take that from Uncle Tony?" he asked nodding towards Tony, who was now standing up, shaking his head and crossing his arms.
You nodded your head with a proud smile. “Yes, Daddy! I got the red!” You cheered with an excitement only a toddler could have about a crayon.
You ran back over to Tony and stuck your tongue out at him. “I got the reddd! I got the reddd!” You said in a teasing voice and giggled as you sat back down at the table.
However, the arguments were far from over as you both engaged in a lively debate about the merits of finger painting versus crayon drawing.
As the argument raged on, Natasha and Bucky couldn't smirk from their spot on the couch, they knew it was just harmless arguments that wouldn’t affect each other's bond but they couldn’t help but admit they were always amusing to watch.

The Avengers compound hummed with activity as the team prepared for an important mission. The team was tasked with thwarting an imminent threat from a nefarious group seeking to exploit a powerful artifact. As the team gathered their gear and reviewed their plans, you watched with wide-eyed fascination. You wanted nothing more than to be part of the action, like your superhero guardians.
Wanda crouched down to your eye level. "Remember, sweetie, this mission is too dangerous for you. You'll stay here with Nat," she said, her voice filled with motherly concern as she saw the sparkle in your eye as you fantasized about being with the team.
You pouted but reluctantly nodded. You understood the dangers, but that didn't stop you from feeling left out. "Okay, Mama."
The mission was set to begin at sunset. As the Avengers geared up and made their final preparations, you watched from the sidelines. Wanda and Nat had promised to keep you safe, and they both took that promise seriously.
With a heavy heart, Wanda glanced at you. "I know you're disappointed, love, but I need you to stay here. It's just too risky for you."
Your big, innocent eyes filled with tears. You understood the need for safety, but your heart ached to be with your beloved Mama. "I'm scared, Mama." you mumbled out barely above a whisper.
Wanda's heart clenched at the vulnerability in your voice. She knelt down and hugged you tightly. "I promise Nat will protect you, Y/N. Nothing will happen to you, I swear."
“Not me, you.” You explained. You had no reason to worry about your own safety, but Wanda was going on a grave mission, you couldn’t help but worry that something may happen.
“Me? Detka, I’ll be ok. We all have each other’s back.” Wanda assured you, she hadn’t even thought about her own safety to be frank, too busy worrying about how you would react to being without her. Though, maybe that’s what motherhood is all about, always putting your child first. Their feelings, their happiness, and their safety.
“Pwomise?” you wondered looking up at Wanda with doe wide eyes and pure innocence.
“I promise that I will do everything in my power to come home to you safe and sound.” She clarified. Even though unlikely, Wanda couldn't bring herself to make a promise she didn’t have the full power to keep. There was always a chance something could happen to her in missions like these and you both knew it.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the Avengers embarked on their mission. You and Nat standing by watching them depart, your small hand tightly gripping Nataha’s. The compound felt empty and eerily quiet without the usual banter and laughter of the team.
Hours passed, and the tension in the compound grew palpable. Nat kept one eye on the security feeds, monitoring the team's progress. Unable to sleep, you pushed any hesitation you still harbored for Nat aside as you clung to her side like a lifeline. The minutes stretched into hours as you tried to find comfort in your stuffed animal and Natasha’s closeness.
Taking Natasha’s attention away from monitoring the team, an emergency alert blared through the compound. Her heart skipped a beat as she read the message: " Multiple intruders detected. High Alert. Seek safety immediately."
Normally this wouldn’t phase Natasha, but with you to protect, fear gripped her nervous system, and she scooped you into her arms. "Stay close, kid. We need to go to the safe room." With you in tow, she rushed through the corridors, heart pounding with dread. Her first priority was getting you to safety, “How many are we looking at FRIDAY?” she said aloud to the Artificial Assistant.
“I count 7 armed soldiers and 2 unarmed, Miss Romanoff. Would you like me to deploy the nano recon drones for more real-time data of the base?” FRIDAY responded with limited emotion in her voice.
“Deploy the recons and the defense droids, and notify Fury!” she demanded as continued to rush you to safety. On the verge of tears, you waverly spoke, “Natty? What noise is dat?”
“We just need to go to the safe room, Y/N. Someone is here,” she explained as she tactically rushed you across the compound.
You wanted to ask who, but soon enough, you couldn't hold back your tears anymore. The loud noise, the frantic state that Nat was in, and the lack of Wanda all came crashing over you. Even when Natasha seemingly kept her cool as she checked corners and cleared hallways before ushering you along, you could tell that something was very wrong.
“Shhh, everything is going to be okay, I’m not going to let anything happen to you, ok?” Nat tried to reassure you but your tears continued to fall.
Once you got to the safe room, Natasha instructed you not to let anyone else in, no matter who they said they were and to be as silent as you could, before rushing back out to take control back of the building.
“Any idea on what their play is here?” she questioned FRIDAY, trying to put the pieces together, as she left you to gather the weapons she needed to take on such a group. There was nothing on the radar that would’ve led the team to foresee this event happening. Especially now, when everyone is away.
“Intent is Unknown,” FRIDAY informed.
Was that it? Everyone is away, in fact, everything they’d been following for the last 2 months pointed toward this weekend in Glasgow. Was it a distraction?
Pulled from her thoughts, Tony’s name came buzzing through her phone. “Romanoff,” Nat greeted like any other phone call as if she wasn’t in the middle of a dire situation.
“Nat, everything ok there? I’m seeing alerts come through.” Tony queried, optimistically hoping something may have unintentionally triggered the alarms, even though he had taken extra precautions to block unintentional triggers.
“Here? Oh yeah, everything is great. You know, except the gang of at least 9 trying to take over the compound. Peachy, really.” Nat sarcastically replied, she wasn’t upset with Tony, but it was one of her coping mechanisms in times like this, “How’s everything in your neck of the woods?” she wondered, trying to see if her theory had any ground.
“Surprisingly quiet. I’m sending you some help,” Tony said as he deployed suits and more equipment to help fight alongside Natasha.
“Thanks, I have a feeling Glasgow was a distraction,” she uttered as she marched toward the invaders.
Tumblr media
Amidst the dimly lit corridors of the Avengers' high-tech compound, The Black Widow stood alone. The emergency alarms blared in the background, casting eerie crimson lights that danced across her sleek black suit. The once-peaceful sanctuary had been infiltrated by a group of highly trained armed guards, and Natasha was the last line of defense.
“Hey, Fellas!” Nat cheekily shouted towards them
The guards, clad in tactical gear and armed to the teeth, advanced on Natasha with cold determination. They moved in unison, their footsteps echoing ominously against the cold, metallic floors. Natasha could hear their synchronized breaths, a chilling reminder that she was outnumbered.
With a flick of her wrist, Natasha activated her Widow's Bite, sending electrifying shocks coursing through her fingertips. The room's lights momentarily flickered, casting eerie shadows as her attackers closed in.
The first guard lunged forward, wielding a baton. Natasha sidestepped his attack with grace, her movements fluid as water. She delivered a swift kick to his chest, sending him crashing into his comrades.
A second guard opened fire with an assault rifle, spraying bullets in Natasha's direction. She rolled behind a nearby pillar, bullets whizzing past her. Her keen reflexes and agility kept her one step ahead of the deadly hail of gunfire.
From the shadows, she launched a pair of electrified Widow's Bite disks. They struck two guards, incapacitating them instantly. The room was filled with the acrid smell of burnt fabric as their uniforms smoked.
Tumblr media
Amidst the chaos of the compound invasion, as Natasha fought valiantly to protect their home, a sudden surge of determination welled up within you. Being safely tucked away in the secure room, you could hear the sounds of the struggle outside and it gnawed at you, filling your mind with a mixture of fear and courage. What if something happened to Nat? You could prevent it.
With small, trembling hands, you pushed open the heavy door of the safe room. Your heart pounding in your chest as you took hesitant steps toward the fray. You watched Natasha, in her awe-inspiring Black Widow suit, fighting against the row of heavily armed intruders with incredible skill.
Then, You watched her take some punches and you couldn't just stand there. You have powers too, powers you’re still learning to control. With a deep breath, you focused your thoughts, trying to remember what Wanda had taught you about harnessing your abilities.
As the guards closed in on Natasha, your eyes glowed with a faint, cyan hue. Your small hands extended outward, palms out, and concentrated. Vibratory waves emanated from your palm, a powerful force that rippled through the air like invisible shockwaves.
The sudden disturbance caught the invaders off guard. Staggering and stumbling back, their weapons falling from their hands as they tried to maintain their balance. Natasha seized the opportunity, delivering swift and precise blows to disarm them.
But in your determination to help, you had left yourself vulnerable. One of the guards managed to regain his composure and, in a desperate act, fired his weapon in your direction. The shot rang out, and a searing pain lanced through your left shoulder.
Before Natasha could even catch sight of the bullet, you were on the ground crying in pain. Both Tony’s drone and Natasha swiftly subdued the last of the guards and she rushed to your side. Her heart ached with worry as she gently cradled you in her arms.
Tumblr media
As soon as the bullet made impact, Wanda could sense that something wasn’t right, even from miles away. It was as though an invisible thread had been pulled taut, stretching across the miles that separated you. Her brow furrowed in concern as she continued to sense that something was terribly wrong back at the compound. She couldn't put her finger on it, but her maternal instincts told her that you were in danger.
Wanda began running through every option she has to get to you. Would using her powers be faster? What if she used her powers on the jet, could she make it go quicker without overloading the engines?
After weighing her options, she went with the latter. The team had already reversed course once they discovered it was a set up, “Hang on tight,” she said before supercharging the engines.
“Wanda, what are you doing?” Clint managed to get out as he was smushed against his seat from the G-Force.
“Y/N is hurt. I can feel it.”
Tumblr media
When she finally arrived at the compound, her fears were realized. The sight that greeted her was both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. She found Natasha cradling you in her arms, your face contorted in pain but also displaying a remarkable resilience.
Wanda rushed to your side, her eyes filled with concern. "Y/N! Natasha!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling. She knelt beside you, “Are you hurt?” she frantically asked, her hands glowing with a soft, soothing light as she assessed the extent of your injuries.
Natasha looked up, relief washing over her features as she saw Wanda. "Wanda, i’m sorry, i- i’m so sorry, i put her in the safe room and she tried to help-," Natasha explained, her voice laced with fear of wandas wrath and admiration for your bravery. "She used her powers to protect us, but she got hurt in the process."
“Mama, miss you!” you gasped through clenched teeth.
Wanda's heart swelled with a mixture of pride and concern as she looked down at you. Gently stroking your forehead, she used her powers to ease the pain. "You're so brave, little one," she whispered, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm here now, and I'll make sure you're okay."
Though clearly in pain, you managed a weak but heartfelt smile as you looked up at Wanda.
Even though Wanda was upset that you were caught in the crossfire, she couldn’t blame Natasha. She understood that Natasha, like herself, cares deeply for your well-being and did everything in her power to protect you during the invasion. The priority for both of them was getting you fixed up.
Tumblr media
Wanda paced nervously alongside Natasha in the compound's infirmary while you lay on a medical bed, receiving treatment for the gunshot wound.
Natasha reached out to gently place a hand on Wanda's shoulder. "She's going to be okay, Wanda. The doctors are doing everything they can."
Wanda nodded, but her brow was furrowed with concern. "I know, Nat. I just can't believe she came out of that safe room. She's so young, and she shouldn't have been in danger."
Natasha sighed, understanding Wanda's anxiety. "I get it, Wanda. I tried to keep her safe, but she's got that Stark stubbornness, you know? She was determined to help."
Wanda looked at Natasha with a mix of gratitude and worry. "I appreciate that you were here to protect her, I just wish it was different, I wish I had been here, we should have been more careful. She's just a child."
Natasha nodded in agreement. "You're right, Wanda. We should have been more careful about sending everyone on a wild goose chase. But you know how determined she can be. She wanted to help because she’s seen you and me doing what we do."
Wanda sighed, her shoulders slumping with fatigue and relief. "I know, and I'm proud of her courage, but I, I just hate to see her in danger like this. She can’t take after us, I never want her to be in danger again."
Natasha squeezed Wanda's shoulder reassuringly. "We'll keep her safe, Wanda. We're a team, remember? And we'll make sure she knows the importance of staying out of harm's way."
Wanda finally met Natasha's gaze, and there was a softness in her eyes. "Thank you, Nat, for protecting her. I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to her."
Natasha smiled gently. "We're her family, Wanda. We'll always do whatever it takes to keep her safe." she noted as she enveloped Wanda in a comforting embrace. Sinking into the hug, Wanda clung to Nat as she buried her face into her neck and relaxed into the arms of her lover.
As they continued to watch over your recovery, the couple knew that they would need to work together to ensure a balance between protecting the child they loved and nurturing your independence and bravery.

Ready or Not, Here I Come - Mama!Nat x Daughter!Reader
Summery: Your mama, Natasha can’t find you during a game of hide and seek and gets slightly worried
Notes: ‘Calls’ as in shouting, I’m going to assume reader is too young to have a phone yet, loll.
Readers Age: 4 Years Old
Requests: Open
Tumblr media
“Ninety-Nine... One-Hundred! Alright Malysh! Ready or not, here I come! Mama’s gonna find her little loon!” Natasha called out into the hallway of her section of the compound.
You both had just gotten back from spending the weekend at the Barton’s farm, over the weekend you had developed a love for the game of hide-and-seek from the two eldest Barton children.
So far this was yours and Natasha’s third game, and Natasha was just as into it as you were since she just could’t get enough of seeing your cheeky little grin or hearing your adorable squeal whenever she found you.
“Y/nnnnnn! Come out, come out where ever you are, манчкин.”
Nothing.
Hm, you were learning fast. The first round you had come out of your hiding spot straight after she had called you, always being a child to answer when called so that you wouldn’t give your mama a scare.
Natasha made sure to make her steps heavy, knowing that you would giggle if you felt as though you were tricking her.
“Could my little Y/N/N be under the carpet?” She called out as she lifted the carpet gently. “Oh? She isn’t here!” She called out, pretending to sound shocked.
Although she was a little but when she didn’t hear a sound afterwards.
You were really getting good at this game. Clint had thought you well. She could imagine his words of ‘the student becomes the master’
“Ohhhhhh Y-NNNNN!” She sang. “Mama’s coming to find youuu.”
Nothing. Huh.
For the next minute Natasha played it the way she usually did, making silly little comments as well as looking at the spots where it was plain-fully obvious you weren’t hiding. But you were beginning to worry her by remaining quiet.
You were a quiet child, of course. But usually during games like this the more your mama called the more you wanted to run to her and make sure that she wasn’t actually worried, plus you loved the cuddles that you would receive.
“Y/N? Sweetheart?”
If you just giggles or let out a huff or something she would gladly keep pretending for another five minutes, but there wasn’t a peep out of you.
“Come on honey, Mama can’t find you anywhere. She gives up!”
Natasha thought that that ought to do it. But it didn’t. Still not a sound.
And due to having received a small dose of syrum during her time in the red room, her hearing was better than the average person’s, making it easier to hear around your’s and her’s apartment in the compound. Which helped whenever you had a nightmare or needed to get up at night due to a tummy ache.
Natasha was panicking now, switching into protective Mama mode.
She began to search all of your previous hiding spots where you had hid in perviously. But nothing.
She would have heard the door open if you went to go somewhere else in the compound.
“Y/N! Come on sweetheart! Why don’t we go find Uncle Thor? He and Loki just got back from Asgard, you love Uncle Loki!”
You did love Uncle Loki, he was one of your favourite uncles and if something wasn’t terribly wrong you would have zoomed over to her that very second from where you were supposed to be hiding.
“Malyshka please. Are you stuck? Do you need Mama to come get you?”
Natasha wandered aimlessly around the apartment, not entirely sure what to do. She didn’t want to leave incase you got scared if you came out of your hiding spot because she wasn’t there.
It wasn’t until she noticed a little pair of kids’ shoes sticking out from under the rack that she felt huge relief.
Natasha pulled a few of the coats to the side and smiled in relief and at the adorable sight in front of her.
You were fast asleep, your head resting on her slippers.
She should have known how tired you would be. You had been running wild with the Barton kids all day, you had stayed awake the entire car journey back chatting away because you felt that if you fell asleep Natasha would be lonely, you had then played another two games while running around with Natasha. She’s surprised you hadn’t fallen asleep sooner.
After she quickly snapped a picture of you on her phone she put it away and went to softly pick you up, you were light, so it was no problem.
“C’mere sweet pea.” She murmured as you let out a small grunt.
“Mama.” You whined slightly.
“Right here Moye Serdtse.” She cooed softy as you lay your head on her shoulder.
“Did I win?”
Natasha suppressed a laugh. You had won in scaring her if that’s what you meant, which of course it wasn’t.
She studied your red locks that you inherited from her, and said something that she had known since the day she she discovered your existence. “I won.” She said lovingly. She had won, she had won in life because she had you. What else could she ever need?
You huffed, not understanding what she really meant. “Next time I will.”
“Maybe.” Natasha chuckled. “Let’s go sweetheart, you can sleep in my bed.”
You smiled up tiredly at Natasha as she moved some hairs from your face. “Yes please, Mama.”
“I love you. Malyshka.”
“Iluvoo too...” You replied, half asleep on your Mama’s shoulder already.

The Life You Deserve | Natasha Romanoff x Child!Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist | N.R Masterlist
Words: 4.4k
Summary: When Natasha is selected to mentor you in the Red Room, she will do everything in her power to get you both out.
Triggers: Red Room, injuries, death of a side character.
✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧
Natasha vividly remembered when she first saw you. She was fourteen and you were only five. She remembered seeing you in your little tutu as you elegantly moved around the room, your hair pinned up in a pristine bun.
You were clearly the youngest in the room. Innocence radiated off of you, and the fact that you were extremely tiny compared to the others.
She hated looking at you.
There was nothing wrong with you yourself, you looked like a cute child, but she hated that even now as you were dancing, she was watching the innocence being ripped from you as Madame B began screaming at the group to correct their forms. You looked scared, and she knew that one day that scared look would be replaced by a cold mask planted on your face.
Natasha was the best in the Red Room, she excelled and outsmarted all of the other widows, even those much older than her. Which is why she had been selected to be a mentor to an even younger widow. You had been selected.
You were one of the youngest, so if Natasha made some errors with her first mentoring job there would still be time to rectify the situation. The situation being you.
You didn't know that you had been selected to be a mentee to improve your already flourishing skillset, so you were oblivious to the horrified fourteen-year-old watching you through the glass. You just focused on your steps and form.
Ballet made you feel free, even with Madame B screeching orders at the group. You just loved dancing, so it was easy to ignore the cons that came along with it.
But you froze when you noticed Dreykov walking towards you, followed by a girl with bright red hair. You were praying that they were going to be talking to one of the other girls in the room, but your prayers were not answered.
He gently placed his hands under your arms to lift you up and place you on his hip. You flinched at his touch which broke Natasha's heart. But she kept her cold mask up, looking at you blankly now that your gazes were relatively level with each other.
Her face displayed no emotions, but even at your young age, you could see that her eyes were staring at you with pity. You didn't remember someone ever looking at you like that, so you just stared at her as though she was the most interesting thing on the planet. She held your stare, your soft gaze intriguing her.
Due to being distracted, you hadn't heard the conversation that had just taken place between Dreykov and Madame B, explaining that you were being taken away from classes for the rest of the day.
So, you were startled as he began walking out with you, Natasha a few paces behind. You thrashed your legs slightly due to the confusion, which only caused the man holding you to painfully increase his grip.
You whimpered slightly as your bottom lip wobbled, and Natasha looked over at you again. In a perfect world, she would have snatched you from his arms and run away.
But this wasn't a perfect world.
Sensing eyes on you, you turned to meet her gaze, which instantly relaxed you, so you creepily stared at her the entire way to Dreykov's office.
Natasha was confused but saw you relax when she looked at you, so she didn't look away. She liked how you were looking at her in a friendly and trusting way, no one else did. Most people those days either saw her as a threat or as someone to push around.
Once in the man's office, Dreykov set you down beside his desk and told you to stand by Natasha on the other side of it. You promptly did so and looked up at her with interest. At this point though, her full focus was on Dreykov, she did not want to get on his bad side and so knew that she couldn't openly show you any affection.
You saddened at the lack of attention and got startled again when the man sitting at his desk slammed his fist down to get you to look at him.
Your head whipped around to face him and your breathing quietly picked up pace, Dreykov couldn't hear it, but Natasha could. Once again she just wanted to reach out and get you both out of there, but those ideas stopped when the talking began.
Dreykov began explaining that Natasha was to be your mentor until she graduated. You didn't miss how her demeanour faltered at the mention of graduation, but you weren't aware of why.
You two were to train together, dance together, eat meals together, and Natasha's bed was to be moved next to yours. He wanted you two to spend practically 24/7 together so that you would naturally start mimicking everything that Natasha did.
You, naturally, were slightly confused at what Dreykov was saying. But Natasha understood every word. She didn't know you, but you were going to be turned into her carbon copy, and she didn't know how to feel about it. What she did know is that she suddenly felt quite protective of you, and she would try and make sure that no harm came to you whilst you were in her care.
In her head, it made the situation slightly better. If she was being forced to do work for the Red Room then she could at least do it with as much compassion as she could.
When Dreykov was done talking, you were dismissed and told to wait outside as he continued to speak to Natasha. You didn't really want to leave alone, but you didn't have any choice, so Natasha gave you a small smile of encouragement as she watched you leave.
It felt like you were outside for days on end as you stood outside of the office leaning against the wall, your limited attention span due to your young age was making this a very boring wait.
After a while, Natasha also exited the office and spotted you a few paces down the hall. She tapped your shoulder and gestured for you to follow. You happily did, blissfully unaware of the consequences of that meeting. You only knew that you were happy to follow this girl that you had suddenly formed an attachment to.
She was walking quite quickly, so you had to start jogging to keep up, but that was hard with your little legs. You whined slightly as you slowed, making Natasha turn on her heels to face you and silently cursed herself when she realised that you were further back than she thought.
She sent you a small apologetic smile before she held out her hand for you to take. You grinned, which melted her heart, and ran forward to reach for her hand.
The two of you walked to the cafeteria as it was now time for dinner. It was already packed by the time you arrived. There was a specific time that all of the widows have to leave the cafeteria for the night, which Natasha was conscious of. So, she hastily guided you over to the edge of the room and handed you your tray of bland food before picking hers up.
She watched as you cutely tried to hold it without tipping the contents of your meal over, tongue sticking out in concentration.
"Come on Y/n", she softly said, and slowly walked over to somewhere with two empty spaces. You toddled along behind her as she placed her tray down, then took yours and placed it on the table for you saving you from the horror of emptying your food onto the floor. It was one tray per person, even if your food ended up inedible.
You climbed up onto the seat and began to eat your meal. It consisted of a plain lump of chicken, a spoonful of mashed potato, and some mushrooms.
You inhaled your chicken and potatoes, Natasha had to hold back a laugh as she watched you stuff your face with the flavourless sustenance. She eventually told you to slow down, she didn't want you to choke.
She frowned when she saw you place your cutlery down before making a start on your mushrooms though. Everyone here knew that you had to finish all of your food before the time to leave came around. Which was in about five minutes.
"Eat your mushrooms", she handed you your fork and continued eating her own meal. She abruptly stopped though when she heard you breathing heavily again as you stared down at your plate with your bottom lip sticking out.
She didn't really know what to do. With your age, she thought that you were about to have a tantrum about not wanting more food. She wouldn't be able to deal with that. "Y/n", she warned sternly which made you look up at her, "Eat".
You gulped as you turned to face the plate again. The last time you ate mushrooms you ended up in the medical wing. "Allergic", you whispered and placed your fork down again, terrified of Natasha's reaction.
Her eyes widened as she looked at you, she obviously couldn't force you to eat something that you were allergic to. Her eyes widened even further when she saw that people were getting up to leave. Time was running out.
Checking that no one was watching, she hurriedly switched your plates, leaving you with half a lump of potato, and her with your mushrooms. "Eat", she emphasised again as she quickly ate the rest of your meal. You did as you were told and she gathered both of your trays, telling you to follow her again.
That night yours and Natasha's beds were placed next to each other, with a small gap to walk between them. Your bed was to the right of Natasha's, and you lay still whilst one of your wrists was handcuffed to the bed. At first, you used to complain about it but eventually learnt that it was of no use.
Natasha watched sadly as your tiny hand was being attached to the bed by a small set of handcuffs. She sent you a small smile once the adults had left the room for the night. Usually, Natasha slept facing the left side of the bed, but she lay on her other side from that night, wanting to keep an eye on you.
She only allowed herself to fall asleep once she had seen your eyes flutter shut.
---
Natasha had been mentoring you for four years now. She was eighteen and you were nine, and she had loved watching you grow and was so proud of your progress. You were an incredibly smart child, and you were still excelling in training. You were becoming a mini-her when it came to skill, but they hadn't managed to rid you of your bouncy personality yet, which Natasha was grateful for every day, you made her life in the Red Room better.
So far, she had succeeded in her promise to let no harm come to you whilst you were under her watch. She would take a bullet for you without looking back, her worst fear was you being harmed without being able to do anything to stop it, so she could only stare in horror as she watched you walking into the fighting ring.
Your age group had reached a milestone in your training, now it was time to eliminate the weak links. You would each fight another person until your opponent died, halving the group, leaving only the strong ones left.
Due to you being in the mentor programme, Natasha had thought that you wouldn't be a part of these eliminations, but she was wrong.
She had never been so scared in her life as she watched you take a fighting stance against someone who was two years older. The age gap wasn't big, but when you're young it means a lot in terms of size.
Natasha was filled with hope as she watched you holding your own in the ring, blocking hit after hit, and even breaking your opponent's nose.
All hope was lost though when you had been pushed backwards in a way that made you stumble. The other girl had lifted you up and threw you to the ground before standing on your chest, rapidly increasing the pressure.
Natasha panicked as she saw you in pain and struggling on the floor, she desperately wanted to help you, but she couldn't. She flinched when she heard the snapping of your ribs, and felt like sobbing when she heard your pained screams. She was certain that you were going to die now.
Your head moved to look at the people watching, and your eyes met Natasha's. She looked distraught, and this sparked something in you, you couldn't leave her.
You grabbed the leg that was on top of you again and tried to twist her off of you, it took a few tries but you managed to send her stumbling away. So, you quickly stood and let out a cry of pain, you couldn't hear it but Natasha's breath hitched at seeing you in pain again.
The other girl looked like she was going to charge at you again, so you did it before she could. You leapt at her and manoeuvered yourself to be on her back. You had to hold back a scream as your ribs slammed against her, but you ignored the pain and placed your hands on the side of her head as she tried to shake you off. You desperately looked over to Natasha and saw her nod at you quickly.
You twisted your hands, and she dropped to the floor.
You had completed your first kill.
Your breath was wheezy as you looked at Natasha again, your lungs clearly affected by the multiple broken ribs.
When Natasha met your gaze her heart dropped, the once bright ones that used to stare at her had dulled slightly. The Red Room was breaking you, and she didn't know how to stop it.
---
That night Natasha laid awake as she faced your empty bed, struggling to sleep with you being so far away. You had won the fight but still had to spend the next few days in the infirmary. She stared blankly at your bed as she slowly drifted off to sleep. She wanted out.
She wanted out with you. And she knew that it would need to be done soon.
Natasha didn't realise how soon that was. The next day she was called into Dreykov's office for a meeting and was given the worst news possible.
Her graduation was going to take place the next day, and you had been sold to a high bidder who was part of the KGB. They needed a child for one of their missions. You fitted their criteria.
She nodded and thanked them before walking out. Her mouth went dry and her hands were shaking. She didn't want to be put through the graduation process, and she didn't want you going through the KGB. She was going to get you both out.
---
You were sleeping when Natasha stuck into the infirmary, she stilled when she saw your small figure laying in bed in a hospital gown. It was something that she had never wanted to see. But she quickly shook her head and moved forward, she then shook you awake and whispered your name. You immediately woke up and panicked until Natasha reassured you that it was just her.
She hugged you quickly and you nuzzled your face into her shoulder, absorbing the comfort that she gave you.
"We need to go", she disconnected your heart rate monitor and ripped out your IV. You were confused but just let her do her thing, you trusted her.
You whimpered though when she picked you up and held you against her front, your ribs were in excruciating amounts of pain. "I'm sorry. I know it hurts. You just have to trust me, okay? I'll get you out of here".
You nodded and pressed your face into her neck. She would have melted on the spot if it were any other situation, but she couldn't allow herself to do that.
She ran out of the room and had to ignore the tears that had silently started streaming down your face.
Natasha was acting cat-like as she manoeuvred around the building until an alarm went off. A nurse must have noticed your absence and triggered an alarm. Her cat-like jogging had turned into a messy sprint as she worked to get out before the place when into lockdown. She didn't dare think about what would happen to the two of you if you got caught.
She shoved her way past some guards, the impact causing pain to explode in your chest. You were openly sobbing now, the pain was too much. Natasha pressed a small kiss to the top of your head as she slowed to turn a corner, your sobs were breaking her, but she knew that you would both have worst fates if she didn't get you both out.
The screeching of Madame B could be heard by the both of you as she yelled for the two of you to come back and that you were both in for a world of pain. Natasha's grip on you increased protectively.
When you reached the front entrance you thought that you were both goners, but Natasha kicked the door down with so much force that the thick metal hinges had flown off.
You flinched at the loud bang but didn't have much more time to think as before you knew it she was taking off at a full sprint. You weren't sure how she was running so fast with you in her arms, or how she hadn't dropped you yet, you still kept a firm grip on her shirt just in case.
She wasn't sure how she hadn't dropped you yet either, but her grip was like iron so it wasn't a surprise really.
Natasha didn't know where she was running to, she just sprinted as far as she could in a zig-zag pattern to throw the Red Room off of your scent. You tried to keep quiet to not distract Natasha, but the occasional yelp still slipped out of you if she took a heavy step due to rocks and tree roots in the forest that you were now travelling through.
She responded by breathlessly voicing an "I'm sorry", or "I know".
It felt like hours that she had been running for, and she wasn't far off. She had sprinted at full speed for an hour, the adrenaline of getting you to safety at full speed powering her.
After she had run through almost the entirety of the large, unforgiving forest, there was a small abandoned shack that appeared in the distance, and she thought that it would be perfectly suitable to take a break and hide away in until she figured out where to go.
She practically collapsed onto the floor with you on her lap once you had both entered. Her breaths were very laboured, so you attempted to get off of her so that she could regain her breath and strength, but she just shook her head and muttered "No, no, no", as she pulled you closer into her and rested her cheek on the top of your head.
Natasha let a few tears slip in relief. She did it, she got you both out.
About half an hour had passed where she just held you, nothing else. You just sat in her embrace and allowed her to hold you as tight as she wanted to, without hurting your ribs.
She suddenly became conscious that you were still just in a hospital gown though, not that you minded, she was providing you with plenty of warmth. But she immediately cursed herself as she looked around the place in search of a blanket, but she came up empty. Sighing in slight defeat, she pushed your shoulders back slightly to look at you.
You gave her a small, tired smile as she pushed some hair out of your face, "Are you cold?", she asked with extra softness in her voice that you hadn't heard before.
"No, you're keeping me warm", you replied as you practically slammed your head back onto her chest. She laughed and you felt the vibrations going through your skull, it was calming. She gently rubbed your back to try and lull you to sleep, it had been a long couple of days for the both of you.
There was nowhere in this shack that was comfortable to sleep, so she lay down on the hard floor and kept a grip on you to guide you down with her. She wrapped her arms around you in a bear hug as you lay on top of her, unknowingly using her as a mattress whilst you slept.
"It's all okay now, I'm here. I'm always going to be here", she whispered before letting herself fall into a slumber as well.
She was going to give you a good life, she'd get you both good fake IDs, you'd leave the country and she would get a small job. She had always dreamt of having an apartment to share with you, and she would enrol you in a school where you can make friends your age. Natasha would love to do the school runs and hear about your day as she walked you both back home.
Natasha was going to give you the life you deserved. She'd make sure of it.
---
1 year later
Natasha had successfully gotten you both out of Russia and into America. She had decided on residing in Ohio, it had been nice when she had lived there for a Red Room mission when she was young, so she wanted to raise you there.
She had found a nice little two-bed apartment, and she loved sharing it with you. The space was dotted with pictures that you had painted, and of photos with the two of you on your various adventures over the year. Paintings that didn't go up on the wall went into a little folder that she kept in her bedside table drawer, they were her most prized possessions. You truly brightened up her life. As a child, she had imagined escaping on her own and going about her life, but now she couldn't imagine life without you.
Somehow, she had managed to get full custody of you, she had wrangled up some old contacts from previous missions to get the legal side done. It had meant that she could now enrol you in school. You were ten and eager to be with other kids, you were so excited that she couldn't help but be excited for you too.
The first night after school was spent wiping your tears. The other kids had teased you at school for your Russian accent. Natasha was livid but tried to keep her cool and reassure you that it was just new for them and that they'd forget about it soon. She didn't know if her words were true, but she wanted you to be excited about school still.
Her heart broke as she saw that you were too shy to speak when you woke up the next morning, afraid that your voice was weird.
She told you that she loved and you that you sounded beautiful. You believed her, Natasha would never lie to you.
It took a few days of more tears, and Natasha was close to pulling you out of school and attempting to do homeschooling, but you eventually made a friend, and the rest of the class didn't care that you didn't sound like them anymore. The novelty had worn off.
Whenever Natasha picked you up from school she got weird glances from parents on the playground waiting for their children. She very clearly looked to be in her late teens/early twenties, so the fact that she was picking up a ten-year-old seemed weird to them. But she didn't care, she loved being your mother figure and seeing your little face light up when you saw her as you came out of the classroom door with your giant backpack on.
Natasha had expected you to still be looking a little glum about your American school experience, but when she saw you hugging another young girl goodbye, her heart swelled. You looked so happy.
You then spotted Natasha from across the playground and sprinted over to her. She crouched slightly held out her arms for you to jump into, and then spun you around as you giggled.
She repositioned you to rest on her hip as she walked out, even though you were too old for that. She just loved holding you and knew that one day you might not like it anymore. "How was your day, honey?".
She smiled non-stop as she listened to your ramblings about your new friend and all of the mayhem that the two of you got up to today.
Natasha decided to make this day even better for you by taking you to get ice cream. She had a low-paying job so wasn't able to treat you like this as often as she wanted to, but she did whenever she could. You didn't mind that you didn't get treats all that often, you just loved being with Natasha.
Your face lit up again as she entered the parlour and pointed out the different flavours to you.
After you had picked one out you both sat down on a cute little white wooden table at the back and ate your delicious treat.
You got it all over your face, so Natasha started laughing at you. You were extremely confused at first until Natasha told you to smile as she took a photo of you with the camera that she carried with her, something that she did increasingly often. She had many photo albums stored in the apartment even after just a year, most of the photos being of you.
You couldn't help but laugh either when she showed you the mess that you had made. She grabbed a napkin and started gently wiping around your mouth. You gazed at her whilst she was doing so, you were still getting used to having these domestic moments with Natasha.
When she felt you looking at her, her eyes moved up to meet yours, and she was immediately taken back to when you had first stared at her five years ago. She had to hold back tears as she realised how much you had grown and how far you had both come.
She'd one it. She had given you both the life that you deserved, and there was no way on Earth that she was going to let it go.

Summary: Natasha adopted you from the Red Room when you were only a baby, but when she and Bucky had their own child, she started forgetting about you.
Part 2
"I hate you!" You shouted, slamming the door behind you
"Y/N, we're not done!" Natasha, your mother, shouted from downstairs "Get back here!"
This was a daily occurrence by now.
The, once nonexistent, daily arguments between you and Natasha only got worse over the years.
Although Natasha isn't your biological mother, she raised you like her own after she saved you from the Red Room.
You were only 2 months old when she adopted you and everything went well. You both formed a happy little family for a while.
That was until Natasha started dating Bucky a little after your 10th birthday and she slowly started spending less and less time with you.
But not Bucky was the factor that determined your mother-daughter relationship with Natasha to drift apart.
The main reason behind everything was your 5-year-old baby sister, Tanya, who came into the world a few months after Natasha and Bucky started dating, with a little bit of help from Tony and his technology that, nowadays, seems to defy all odds.
Tanya's arrival only strengthened the bond between her parents, who had a romantic history that started years before even you were born, and, at the same time, weakened the bond between you and Natasha.
You knew the drill by now.
'Tanya is perfect.'
'Tanya is ours.'
'Tanya is innocent.'
Their voices echoed in your brain like a broken record.
Tanya knows that she can get away with everything and Tanya does get away with everything.
Since her birth, it was as if Natasha had completely forgotten about your existence.
It began by ignoring you while she focused her attention solely on Tanya.
She wouldn't feed you anymore, wake you up for school, or cuddle you at night.
She didn't even notice that you changed.
But, how could she, when Tanya was everything she noticed?
You stared at yourself in the mirror.
Determination was etched on your pale face as you picked up the blade that was on your sink.
It became a relief for you.
Sliding that blade on your wrist helped you forget about the unbearable pain in your chest.
The crimson blood that was pooling from the cuts held your attention. The pain of being abandoned by two different mothers was momentarily shoved at the back of your mind.
You started harming yourself 2 years ago when you couldn't take Natasha's ignorance any more.
You haven't told anyone and it's not like they would care if they knew anyways. Tanya was the center of their world, not you.
She was the perfect baby, while you were the adopted bastard and a grand mistake that Natasha made.
Natasha never admitted it out loud but you understood the message from the way she was treating you.
The blade fell down from your hand into the sink.
'Is it all because she never gave birth to me?'
And you stared at the trail of blood it left on the white sink.
'Are adopted kids not important, just because they're not blood related?'
You slowly understood.
'Will I ever be treated the same as Tanya?'
The only one left to understand was Natasha.
"Y/N, do you want to play with my dolls later?" Tanya asked you a few hours later, during dinner
You pulled at the sleeves of your hoodie even more, hiding your hands inside of them.
"Sure, Tatu." You gave the small child a shy smile "I think I'd like that."
"Tatiana." Natasha sternly looked at Tanya but the tone of her voice was soft "Remember we have a movie night tonight. You can play with Y/N another time."
"Can Y/N come too?" Tanya's big, innocent eyes sparkled while she asked, as Natasha refilled the girl's glass of orange juice
"I think she has more important things to do." Natasha replied, not even bothering to ask what you want "We're going to have a mother-daughter night. It's going to be just us two, sweetheart. Wouldn't it be fun?"
"Yay!" Tanya cheered, throwing her arms in the air
But as she did, she accidentally knocked over the glass filled with juice.
"Oh oh..." Tanya said, looking at the spilled juice "Sorry, Mama."
"Don't worry, baby girl." Natasha smiled, sitting up to clean the mess "Accidents happen."
"That's not what you said the last time when I accidentally knocked over my glass of water." You bitterly spat out at Natasha
"You have no right to talk, Y/N." Natasha snapped at you "Shut up!"
"Natalia, honey, calm down." Bucky, who was sitting beside Natasha, put his hand on her arm "She didn't do anything wrong. She's just a kid."
"She's not a kid, James." Natasha shouted, turning her head in Bucky's direction "She's a grown-up teenager now."
"Talia, I think you are just overreacting right now." Bucky kept trying to calm his wife, sparing a glance in your direction
He looked down at your plate that was untouched, the effect of your lack of appetite obvious on your skinny and fragile frame.
"I think I'm full." You quickly sat up from the table
"Sit back down, right in this instance, Y/N." Natasha shouted at you "You don't disrespect your mother like that and get away with it."
"Well, lately, you didn't act like a mother at all." You shouted back at Natasha, pain evident in your voice, but Natasha was oblivious to it "All you care about is Tanya."
"Because she's my child!" Natasha screamed offended "It's only normal to care for her."
"I used to be your child as well!" You shouted, tears forming in your eyes "I still am your child."
"You're not mine!" Natasha shouted and you widened your eyes shocked "You're not anything to me! You aren't my child because you don't have my blood. I didn't carry you or feel you grow day by day inside of me. But with Tanya, I did. You are just a mistake, Y/N!"
"You are the mistake here, Mom!" You cried, slightly lifting your sleeves as Bucky's eyebrows shot in his hairline "Look!" You showed your scarred wrists to the woman "This is all because of you! Why can't you love me like any mother should do? Blood shouldn't be important! You raised me, Natasha."
Bucky reached his metal arm slowly towards your extended arms to inspect your wrists but he was pushed aside by Natasha, who blocked out the fact that you were hurting because of her and ignored the truth, her intrusive thoughts winning as she said something she would never be able to take back.
"You were never truly a part of this family, Y/N!" Natasha shouted "Get that in your head. You are not our blood and you will never be. I saved you because I thought that you would change but I see that you didn't. You are the same. But I did change. I am not the same Natasha that I was in the Red Room. I am better."
Shaking your head, you took a few steps backward.
"I can't believe you." You whispered in disbelief
"Y/N..." Bucky breathed out, sitting up from his chair "Don't listen to your mother, she's just tired. She didn't mean what she said."
"She knew damn well what she was saying." You kept shaking your head, a lone tear falling down your cheek
"Then get that in your head once and for all." Natasha shouted once more, stubbornly fixated on her wrong belief that she was right
"I hate you!" You shouted at Natasha "I wish you never rescued me from the Red Room!"
And with that, you stormed out of the house and ran into the veil of darkness provided by the night.
Bucky tried to run after you but it was too late.
He found no sight of you or any clue where you might have run away to.
Bucky walked inside the house and looked at Natasha who was still oblivious to the damage she had done and muttered one question.
"What have you done?!"

Y/n was the newest member of the avengers team and Natasha was very intrigued by the young woman. She was always on guard and had a mask similar to the spy to not let their true emotions show. Curious as to why, Natasha watched the woman with caution, her instinct to not trust and find out the truth had gotten the better of her. But the truth would affect her more then she realised.
Daddy stuck around but he wasn't present Cheated on your mom but she never left him
The Avengers were sat around the kitchen ready for breakfast when Clint said, “God this tastes exactly what my old man used to make,” his tone nostalgic as he remembered his father making him breakfast. The team laughed and started to talk about their own childhoods due to prompt from the archer. You tensed slightly at the topic but made sure your walls stayed high as you didn’t need anyone knowing. However you failed to notice a certain redhead saw how you started to just push your food around on your plate and remained quiet. Not wanting to be there anymore, you made a reasonable excuse to leave and smiled at everyone before leaving raising no suspicions from anyone else.
First I didn't get it, now I understand
“What’s that now? Like 10-0?” the spy teased as she had once again pinned you to the training mats. You huffed out in annoyance as you hated training with Natasha as it always ended in teasing and you on the floor is positions way too familiar, except you knew she would never purposely hurt you. Not like he did.
“What’s that from?” She questioned while seeing the large scar on your stomach as your loose t-shirt had ridden up while being thrown on the floor.
“Just a silly accident as a child.” You quickly brushed the subject aside while pulling the ends of the black fabric down to cover it. Natasha saw the ways your eyes flickered with fear and conflict before your mask once again came back up.
“Oh ok,” she said, acting convinced for you to believe her, “Want to go again? Maybe you’ll land a hit this time.” Her tone mocking in a playful way but it only brought you another painful memory.
You heard shouting coming from downstairs before a little knock at your door. Your younger brother peaked his head around the door, his eyes full of fear.
“Y/n?” his voice barely above a whisper as he came into the room searching for his older sister.
“Hey I’m right here,” you softly spoke to him, attempting to calm him down as you could see how scared he was. “Why don’t you spend the night in my room?” you asked while pulling him in for a gentle embrace. You felt a little nod against your chest and pulled him into your bed. “You stay right there for me ok? You’re safe in here, he won’t get you. I won’t let him.” You pulled back to see tears threatening to fall but he nodded once again before you went to leave the room.
“Y/n please don’t go. He’ll hurt you again,” he pleaded as you reached for the door handle.
“It’s ok Y/b/n. I need to help mommy,” you turned to look at him curled in your duvet, “I’ll be fine.”
When you reached downstairs all you could smell was alcohol as you saw him. Your father was screaming at your mother as her hand rubbed over the red handprint across her face.
“Get the fuck away from her,” you spat as you ran over to your mother and pushed the man out of your way.
“You want to say that again you little bitch,” he growled as he shoved you away from your mother.
“I said get the fuck away from her!” you shouted, the rage that was bottled up inside you was now spilling out.
“I’d like to see you try and land a hit on me you pathetic little bitch,” he snarled while taking a swig of the bottle of alcohol in his hand before advancing towards your sobbing mother again. With all your strength you pushed him over before he could swing the bottle at your mother. You didn’t register anything till you saw the panic in your mothers eyes and the sinister look on his face before feeling a sudden pain along your stomach and your shirt becoming wet and sticky.
“Y/n?” questioned the spy as you had zoned out after her question.
“Huh,” you looked at her before replying, “Oh. Uh no thanks, I’ve had enough for today.” You smiled at her while rubbing the back of your neck, your nails digging into the skin there to punish yourself you being so vulnerable. “I’m going to go now Nat. Thanks for training,” you smiled at her before leaving her alone in the gym.
He broke her heart, left money in her hand So everything got paid for
“So Y/n, what’s your favourite childhood memory?” asked Tony as the whole team were enjoying a nice night in, sharing stories to provide entertainment.
“There’s so many how could I choose?” you lied while laughing with the others, trying your best to avoid the subject.
“Come on,” Tony said with a hint of stubbornness in his tone, “There’s got to be one that’s your favourite?”
“Yeah come on Y/n,” spoke a few other Avengers
“Ok, ok,” you raised your hands in defeat as you thought carefully, trying to find a happy memory. “It was my little brothers birthday and my mother and father gave us money to go to the local fair with,” you started trying to talk about your father in a way that didn’t seem like he ruined your life when that’s all he did, “He wanted to go on every single ride with me and practically dragged me around the place,” you laughed at the memory of seeing his face, his smile bright enough to light up a room. “But we went on this one ride that was too much for him and he swore to me he would never go on a ride ever again,” you chuckled at remembering his pale face as if he had just done the scariest thing in the world.
“Hey you ok?” you asked as he stumbled off the ride, a little smile on his face.
“Yeah I’m fine,” he gasped out while walking with you to exit the ride, “ I am never going on another ride ever again,” he exclaimed while looking at you. You raised your eyebrow at his suggestion before he quickly said, “Hey I’m being serious! That was terrifying!” you laughed at his seriousness before giving him a side hug and looking for your parents. After scanning the crowd you saw your father talking to another woman, his hands on her waist and a flirtatious look in his eyes. You looked past him to see your mother stood alone smoking, looking as if she was about to cry on the spot. You suggested to your brother that you could go find a game to play to avoid him seeing your parents.
A hand on your leg snapped you back to your thoughts. Natasha saw how after a moment or two of remembering the event your smile seemed to falter so she tried to bring you back to reality.
“Seems like someone was enjoying the memory too much,” she joked before changing the subject to spare you. After a while you slipped out of the room and no one seemed to notice. Well except for a certain redhead.
A few weeks later you found yourself at one of Starks after parties along with your team mates who had all seemed to had a bit to drink from the earlier main party. You were the only one there who hadn’t drunk anything alcoholic as you refused to drink anything like that. You zoned out while everyone started to talk as this wasn’t one of the things you liked to do. You started to pay attention to what was happening when you heard two male voices starting to get louder. You gripped the arm of the sofa you were sat in while your leg started to bounce slightly in anxiety. When Tony and Steve had started to properly argue and shout at each other you felt your thoughts spiralling out of control. Flashes how he would shout at you mother filled your brain, how he would beat her for wanting the best for their children, no her children, he had lost the title of being your father the first time he hit your mother. Other painful memories invaded your brain such as how he would hit you, pin you to the ground and do unimaginable things to a child and laugh as he saw your brother and mother shy away in fear. Your breath started to quicken and your hands started to tremble so you decided you needed to leave the room as quick as possible.
Suddenly you stood up and left the room as everyone was preoccupied with stopping the super soldier and billionaire from fighting. You managed to get to the roof of the compound, the place where you would go if anything became too much such as now, before your legs gave way and you collapsed against the wall. You let your body take control as you couldn’t keep the emotions in anymore. Your whole body violently shook as you sobbed into your hands.
All you could see was him. His face. His hands as he held you down. The screams of your mother. Your screams. The silhouette of your younger brother watching. The smell of alcohol. The feeling of pain. The feeling of when he would-
“Y/n…” Natasha’s tone was laced with fear as she saw you against the wall. After seeing you leave when the boys had started to fight she seemed to piece together an idea of what had happened to you and went to check on you. You didn’t look up when you heard her you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. What would she think of you now? A weak girl troubled by her past? A pathetic excuse of a person? A waste of space? She stepped towards you to try and comfort you but you flinched away at the sound of her footsteps.
“Please,” you sobbed out, ”Please leave me alone,” you begged, “Please don’t hurt me,” you croaked out before glancing at her feet to see where she was.
And when you told me the whole story I felt like throwing up
“Y/n,” she softly whispered, “Its me Nat. I’m not going to hurt you I promise.” You looked up slowly to see the spy through your tear filled eyes.
“Nat?” your voice shakily asked.
“Yeah it’s me. Can I come closer to your?” She watched as you tensed up before nodding at her request, your eyes meeting hers.
I can see it on your face it was rough Left a bad taste on your tongue
She slowly walked towards you and crouched next to you so you could see where she was without raising your head too much. “Hey its ok Y/n,” she cooed causing you to relax, “I’ve got you now. Your safe.” She repeated the phrase again and again till your sobs turned to whimpers and your body wasn’t shaking as much. “Can I touch you?” she whispered scared if she spoke too loud you would feel scared again. You weakly nodded and she gently cupped your face with her hands and wiped away the tears on your face.
And she didn't even take any drugs She would rain all day Couldn't wait for her sun to shine
You looked into her green eyes expecting to see disappointment or even disgust but all you saw was love and care. You hesitantly reached forward with your hands, wanting to hold her close and find comfort in someone but you stopped. You didn’t want to cross any boundaries with her as you thought it was bad enough that she was seeing you like this. Picking up on what you wanted, she carefully moved her hands around your shoulders and pulled you into her lap. She held you close and tightly as you started to cry into her neck. You murmured apologies against her skin until she told you it wasn’t your fault. You stayed quiet after that and just held onto her. She didn’t realise how much you needed her but she was happy to stay with you through it all.
And you made it shine There when she cried, you saved her life
