Grian didn’t choose the CuteGuy lifestyle as much as it was thrust upon him. He had made one joke (just one!) about how he could be HotGuy’s sidekick, CuteGuy, and Scar went nuts. Within a week, a shulker box had been delivered to his base, containing some flashy pink clothes, a huge bow with a deadly-looking quiver of arrows, and, most unexpectedly, a bedazzled pink flip phone. There was only one contact in the phone, so, with a sigh, Grian pressed the call button.
“Hello?”
“Scar, what is this?”
“Oh, so you found your CuteGuy readiness package!” Scar gasped excitedly. “What do you think? Do you like my big package?”
“Wording, Scar. And, no, I’m not going to be your sidekick! The CuteGuy thing was a joke, bro.” Grian held up the clothes and looked them over with distain, using his shoulder to prop the phone to his ear. “And pink really isn’t my color, much less hot pink.”
“What do you mean? You’re blonde, you’re basically like a Barbie, you’d totally rock pink!”
“I have an alter ego already, Scar, I don’t need another, much less one that wears… does this shirt have a heart-shaped cutout in the chest? Scar!”
“Oh please.” Scar scoffed. “Do you really think Poultry Man will make a comeback? Let’s all be honest with ourselves now.”
“Hey now, mister ‘HotGuy is like half of my personality’. PoultryMan was the blueprint of superheroes!” Grian put the clothes back in the shulker and closed it firmly. “Scar, this dress up game is going a little too far, don’t you think? There isn’t even a need for HotGuy.”
“You never know.” Scar said in a sing-song voice. “Listen, just keep the shulker and the phone- if I really need a sideki- backup, I’ll call this phone, okay? Please?”
“Fine.” Grian said. “It’s a good thing you’re my friend, or I’d burn all of this.” He hung up the phone and set it down on top of the shulker box. He sighed, shaking his head at the bedazzled and pink nightmare that sat on and in the box before him. He picked the box up and moved it to a shadowy part of his basement. Grumbot looked down at him, lights twinkling in a way Grian took as laughter.
“Listen, Scar never said a thing about me actually picking up the phone, so by technicality, I’m off the hook.” Grian felt a need to explain himself. “If he really wants a CuteGuy so bad, he can get someone else to do it or something. I don’t do sidekick. PoultryMan is main character energy.”
Grumbot just flashed his lights, and Grian wondered if the robot had even been listening at all. He sighed, turning around and gazing out towards the now-dull rift on the other side of the basement.
“Now, to something that really matters, what on earth do I do about this?”
-seven months later-
Much like young Issac Newton theorizing about gravity from an apple falling onto his head, Joe Hills also had an odd series of events happen to him when something big and heavy fell onto his head. But he thought “ouch!” instead of conceptualizing gravity, but that’s besides the point.
“Who is messing with me? Guys, now is not a great time… huh?” Joe looked all around, and his gaze came to rest on a red shulker box on its side, spilling stacks upon stacks of tnt onto the ground. Joe went to pick it up and saw it labeled as Grian’s. “Grian?” There was no answer.
So, Joe did what any good person would do, and gathered up all of the tnt, put it back in the box, and set off for Grian’s megabase, which he had only an approximation of its location. He did manage to find it eventually, or, at least, the amalgamation of Grian and Mumbo’s bases, and he dithered on the spot for a while, trying to remember who’s was which. He eventually just gave up and dove down into what he knew to be Grian’s basement, with that weird robot and rift thing. Luckily, both oddities seemed inactive, and Joe put the shulker box down in the middle of the room, and took out a scrap of paper to leave as a note.
Suddenly, a phone rang, echoing through the basement. Joe looked at the rift, then the robot. Neither seemed to a source of the ringing. It was coming, Joe found out as he looked around, from a bedazzled pink flip phone on top of a pink and horribly dusty shulker box. On instinct, Joe picked it up and answered.
“Howdy, Joe Hills from Nashville, Tennessee here, how can I be of service?”
“Cuteguy, it’s time! The time is nye! I- wait, Joe?”
Joe recognized the dramatic voice on the other end at once. “Scar?”
“Joe?”
“Howdy, Scar!”
“Wait, I thought I gave this phone to Grian.”
“Well, I suppose you did. I just happened to be by, dropping off a shulker box of tnt that he must have dropped by accident onto my head, and I heard the phone-“
“Hold on, I’ll be right there.”
Scar hung up, and Joe pulled the phone away from his ear and looked at it in confusion. He considered leaving, he really did, but after a rather arduous debate in his head of how much time he could be spending on his pinball machine instead of waiting on Scar, he ultimately determined that time spent with friends was always time well spent. He had just come to that conclusion, in fact, when Scar crash landed right in front of Joe.
“Ahh! One heart, Joe, one heart.” Scar said, while Joe helped him right his wheelchair. “Now, where’s CuteGuy?”
“Who?” Joe asked. He took stock of Scar’s outfit, which was a tight black unitard looking thing with blue and orange details. “And what on earth are you wearing?”
“Well, I’m HotGuy, of course!” Scar straightened up, taking out a deadly looking bow and pointing it, clearly posing, which Joe took as the cue to make appropriate awed noises. “But every good superhero needs his sidekick, and I was hoping CuteGuy would have gotten my message.” Scar looked around, like this CuteGuy guy would be hiding in a corner or something.
“Scar, there is no one on the server named ‘CuteGuy’- I feel like Xisuma would have told us if he’d whitelisted someone new.” Joe said very seriously.
“What? No! Okay, Joe, listen,” Scar lowered his voice conspiratorially, and Joe leaned in, keeping an eye on Grumbot as he did- who knows who could be listening. “CuteGuy is Grian’s alter ego. Like how I’m HotGuy.”
Joe put a hand to his mouth in shock, to be polite. “You mean it was actually you who terrorized me all those months ago while I was building a sign for King Ren?”
Scar clicked his tongue in an awkward kind of way. “No time for that, Joe! The point is, I need a sidekick right now, and Grian is nowhere to be found. So, Joe, what do you say- wanna come be CuteGuy for a little while?”
Joe considered this. He had many questions, but Scar had a sense of urgency in his tone. And Joe did like to say yes to new experiences…
“Well, I suppose I could help you out Scar- I mean, HotGuy. But shouldn’t I be called something else, as CuteGuy is kind of more of a Grian thing? I wouldn’t want to invade his creative space.”
Scar rubbed his chin, thinking hard “Maybe… are there other adjectives that are like hot and cute?”
“Oh! I was named the sexiest Minecraft youtuber via a set of tumblr polls!” Joe exclaimed. “Sexy… guy?”
“Tumblr? What’s that, like a disease or something?” Scar asked.
“I- okay, so I could explain this simply, but even that might take a few hours within itself… if I say the words ‘Ball Pit’, does that invoke emotions within you?”
“Joe, we don’t have time!” Scar put a hand over Joe’s mouth. “Listen, I think G will be fine if you borrow the CuteGuy name and outfit. But we really do need to go- crime does not sleep!” Scar opened the pink shulker box and pulled out a couple of sets of clothes, holding them up to Joe and squinting. Finally, he shoved a bundle at him. “Go put this on, and I’ll meet you on Grian and Mumbo’s bridge. Hurry!”
Scar flew up, and Joe quickly changed into the violently pink clothes without much thought. It wasn’t until he flew up to meet Scar did it occur to him what exactly he had on.
“Scar, HotGuy, I don’t mean to complain, but is it really all that sensible to be fighting crime in a crop top and booty shorts? Where is the padding? And the armor?” Joe asked, pulling down on the crop top slightly.
“CuteGuy, in this life, you gotta slay in every way. We’re hotter and cuter then our enemies.” Scar lowered his sunglasses, gave Joe a once-over, and tossed him a huge, glittery pink compound bow. “Now, let’s fly. I’ll explain our mission on the way.” He took off, leaving Joe to put the bow in his inventory and hastily take off after him.
The pink phone began to ring as soon as Joe was coasting in the air, and he fumbled to pull it out of the bag strapped to his thigh.
“Howdy!”
“Alright CuteGuy, are you hearing me alright?” Scar’s voice was cool and collected, if a bit hard to hear over the wind.
“Loud and clear, Scar- I mean, HotGuy.” Joe could see Scar up ahead, and kept pace behind him.
“Fantastic.” Scar turned to give him a thumbs up and a cheesy smile. “Now, for this mission, CuteGuy, we’re heading for the lair of the biggest threat to the server, the goat himself, DocM77. Perhaps you’ve heard of him.”
“I… yeah, Scar, sorry, HotGuy, we’ve both known Doc since season five, of course I know him.”
“Good, good. Recently, I, HotGuy, teamed up with two esteemed revolutionaries to form the Buttercups, an elite team set to take down the goat once and for all. The camp has been set, but we need to send a message to the goat that we mean business. Doc may have fancy redstone, but we have determination, grit, and most importantly, obsidian. Oh, and we’re here!”
“Obsidian?” Joe asked, landing beside Scar on the floor of the perimeter, hanging up the phone. “I thought you were gonna say, like, a pipe bomb or something.”
“No, no, CuteGuy.” Scar pulled out a shulker box and set it on the ground. “We just want to be annoying to good ol’ DocM, not actually kill him. So, we’re gonna cover every surface down here in obsidian.”
Joe looked at Scar, then around at the yawning expanse of the perimeter. “I- yeah, okay. And we are the good guys here, right?”
“Of course.” Scar replied, smiling.
——
It took about five hours of painstakingly placing obsidian, but every surface within the perimeter was eventually covered, which was an interesting sight to behold. Scar and Joe stood at the mouth of Doc’s house, looking down into the expanse.
“I think we did good, CuteGuy.” Scar said, patting Joe on the back.
“This bow was surprisingly effective against slimes.” Joe replied, hoisting up the big pink bow.
“That’s the power of the veloci-tay.” Scar said with an understanding nod. “Now, let’s get out of here before Doc gets back.”
He’d hardly uttered the words when there was the distinct sound of someone coming through Doc’s nether portal. Scar and Joe turned around just in time to see Doc emerge from the portal, and freeze at the sight of them.
“HotGuy?” Doc breathed. “What are you doing here? You and your… actually, I don’t believe I’ve met your… friend?”
“Oh, this is my sidekick, CuteGuy.” Scar waved his hand at Joe.
“Name suits you, CuteGuy.” Doc winked at Joe. “Pleasure to meet you. Now, what was I- oh, what are you both doing in my base? Why does CuteGuy look guilty? What…” Doc’s mechanical eye suddenly flew from the socket, whirring into the air with small but powerful blades. It flew behind the two superheroes and looked down into the perimeter. The room went silent, and Joe watched Doc’s face fall, first into surprise, then anger.
“What the- what did you do? Obsidian?” Doc’s eye flew back into socket, and he actually growled at them. “You annoying-”
“CuteGuy, shoot him!” Scar screeched, hiding behind Joe.
“I- what- okay!” Joe pulled back the bow and aimed it at Doc. The arrow missed. Then another missed. Then Doc was standing right in front of him, glowering.
“It’s a good thing you’re cute, because you’re a terrible shot.” Doc growled.
“Run!” Scar screamed, shooting into Doc’s face over Joe’s shoulder, and they both took off to the sky. Doc typed a bunch of angry and cryptic messages into the in-game chat, but didn’t pursue.
Joe and Scar landed on the bridge between Grian and Mumbo’s bases, breathing heavily.
“We did it! Our first mission as a duo!” Scar held out his hand for a high-five. “What do you say, Joe, want to take on the CuteGuy persona full time? HotGuy needs a good sidekick like you.”
Joe gazed into Scar’s grinning face, seeing his own, glittering pink reflection in Scar’s sunglasses.
“Absolutely not.”

a/n: I wrote this a year ago after many years of not writing anymore so pls bare with me 😅
synopsis: just another summer day with your friends and your girlfriend hanni
---------------------------------------------------
"Guys hurry up! I wanna see the beach!" Danielle yelled as she rushed in front of you all, Hyein closely behind her.
"Be careful not to trip on the rocks!" Minji sighed, shaking her head as she kept a close look on the two excited girls running ahead of the group.
"I bet 20₩ Hyein is gonna trip on a rock." Haerin mumbled to you.
Her, you and Hanni walked side by side with arms linked as you calmly made your way through the unsteady terrain to get to the sand on the beach, mindlessly having held onto each other for support.
"I double it, Dani's definitely the one falling first." Hanni snickered back, holding in a laugh as Minji almost slipped as she picked her pace, Danielle and Hyein getting further and further away from the rest of you.
"Be careful, unnie!" You told Minji, almost going after her, but Hanni pulled you back. "Let me help!"
"No. You stay right here with me." You blushed as Hanni gave you a smirk, tugging you close, before giving Haerin a side eye as the younger girl groaned at the interaction.
"Stop being cheesy. I'm right here." Hanni rolled her eyes, kissing your cheek and giving Haerin a sly grin. "I hate people in love." Haerin groaned but made no move to unlink her arm from yours as the rocks on the ground were getting bigger and slippery.
"Not my fault your girlfriend is busy keeping Hyein and Dani alive."
"Stop it, you two." You tugged at their arms, feeling a bit anxious as you could no longer hear the other three as they were way ahead of you. "By the way, I think Minji might be the one falling first with the way she's chasing those two." You heard Haerin sigh at the comment, lightly squeezing her hand as you knew that got her a bit anxious too.
"Hey, you two! Slow the fuck down!! You're gonna get someone hurt like this!!" Hanni yelled. "Jesus fuck, why did we pick a beach with so many rocks?"
"That's what we get for letting Dani choose the place." Haerin said, laughing at herself. "She only knows good restaurants. Other than that, they're all lost causes."
"Do you guys remember when we almost got robbed when she took us to that weird park in Gangnam?" You said, shivering a little as you remembered the fear you all felt that night.
"Oh yeah! And then she almost peed herself, it was so–"
"I told you to be careful!" You all stopped talking as you heard Minji angry yelling.
Looking ahead you all saw Danielle by the sand looking back confused, Minji with her hands on her hips as she looked down at Hyein, who was sitting in the rocks clutching her hands to her chest.
"Shit." You mumbled, letting go of your girlfriend and best friend as you ran to Hyein's aid, not faltering in speed as you wobbled on the unstable rocks.
"I was being careful though, I just wanted to catch up to Dani unnie." You heard Hyein whimper as you got close to the duo. "I'm sorry, unnie." Hyein had a frown as she looked up at Minji with watery eyes.
"Hey, it's okay baby." You squat down carefully beside Hyein. "Lemme see it, Hyeinnie." Hyein gave you her hand and you carefully inspected it. It was a bit scratched, but not too much and there was no bleeding. "Luckily it isn't too bad, just a couple scratches and wet sand. Does it hurt anywhere else?" She shook her head, leaning into you as you rubbed her shoulders in comfort.
"You okay, baby Grace?" Hanni asked as she and Haerin finally caught up with the rest of you. "Well, it seems like I own Haerin 40₩." Hanni had a funny frown on her face as Haerin laughed after checking that Hyein was okay, clapping and leaning into Minji.
"You guys made a bet?" Danielle asked while she helped you and Hyein get up.
"Hanni doubled it saying you'd fall first." The five of you laughed loudly at the incredulous face Danielle made.
"You guys are unbelievable." Minji tried to hide her smirk as she laced her hand with her girlfriend's. "Well, now that everyone is okay and we learned our lesson not to run on big rocks." She gave Danielle and Hyein a stern look. "Can we all please enjoy the beach? This bag is heavy."
"Oh heck yeah!" And that's how you found yourselves running again, this time on the safe sand and towards the sea.
---------------------------------------------------
"Ugh." You groaned for what seemed like the 70th time in the past ten minutes, rubbing yours arms as you squinted your eyes while looking at Haerin and Hyein making sandcastles. Danielle was gathering more water with the small buckets you borrowed from Haerin's little sister. While Minji and Hanni had went to buy you all some lunch, keeping you in charge. "Fuck my life." You groaned again, closing your eyes and resting your forehead on your knees, feeling the hot sun on your back.
Don't get me wrong, you loved hanging out with your friends and you enjoyed the beach a lot. But you absolutely hated the sun. You would usually only go to the beach very early in the morning or during golden hour, as it wasn't so bright and hot. But right now must've been just a bit after 1PM in the middle of the summer. And even if you were perhaps the best one in the group regarding warm weather, you still disliked it. And after playing around in the water with the others and having a small sand fight with Haerin and Danielle, hunger started settling on all of your stomachs, getting you in the position you were right now.
In all honesty, it was your fault. You forgot the beach umbrella in the living room when you were all leaving in a rush because Haerin's mom had somewhere else to go after leaving you guys at the beach. But it didn't matter to you, your thoughts being completely filled with your hatred for the sun and how you wished time would go by faster.
A groan escaped your lips again as you lifted your head from your knees mere minutes later, your forehead and knee caps all wet with your sweat. "Where are they?" You mumbled to yourself, looking behind you at the sand path you found later on in hopes of seeing your girlfriend and Minji, but no sign of them.
"Unnie!" Hyein called you, making you turn to the trio with a small smile on your face. As much as you were feeling miserable, you could never give any of your friends a bad face. "Come make castles with us!"
"We know you love it!" Danielle had a bright smile on her face. That was perhaps the only sun you didn't hate.
"And unnies are gonna take a while to be back. They're ordering for six." You groaned at Haerin's statement, slowly getting up and making your way to the youngest ones. "You good, unnie?" Haerin whispered to you as you sat down next to her, nodding tiredly.
"Just.... Too much sun." Haerin smiled at your annoyed face, handing you a bucket and moving closer to you in hopes of giving you more comfort.
You actually ended up getting distracted enough as the four of you got determined to make a village for your castles.
You and Hyein were in the middle of dusting off the sand in a particularly big house you made when Danielle let out a happy and relieved squeal. "You guys brought food! Yay!"
You whipped your head so fast, crying out in relief at the sight of your girlfriend with two bags of food in her hands. You completely missed Hyein laughing as you eagerly got up and ran to the two oldest girls, taking one bag each from their hands and speed-walking to the blankets you had laid down on the sand where your belongings were.
"Please tell me it's something refreshing. I might die if it isn't." You whined as you rushed the others with your hand so you could open the food already.
Hanni laughed as she sat down beside you, kissing your cheek, trying not to make a face as your skin was sticky with sunscreen, sweat and sand.
"I'm surprised you're not dead by now." Minji deadpanned as she stared at you with a unreadable face, a habit she was getting from Haerin. "You look like you ran a 20 kilometers marathon." And she was probably right. You were visibly more sweaty than the others, even if you ran to cool down at the sea a couple of times. Your hair was messy and sticking to your face and neck. Your cheeks and nose were flushed. And you were breathing more heavily than anyone else in the group. You really hated the sun.
"Ya! Stop making fun of my girlfriend, Kim Minji!" Hanni gave the taller girl a serious look, rubbing your back as she took a cold can of soda from the bag in front of her. "Here you go, love." She opened it and gave it to you, smiling as you all but melted when the cold liquid hit your hot tongue, mumbling a quiet 'thank you' to her. "No problem, sweetie. I made sure to grab the coldest one in the store so it would still be cold by the time we got back." Hanni wasn't sure if your red cheeks were caused by the sun or her words, but with the way your eyes got slightly bigger before looking away she knew that if it was in a different situation, your face would be red definitely because of her. Even after all this time dating, you still got flushed by such small things and she absolutely loved it.
"You guys bought makguksu!!" Hyein squirmed in excitement, hugging the closest person to her, that happened to be Danielle. The two shaking each other in excitement.
"And jangeo-gui for my goyangi." Minji pulled Haerin closer, smiling as she planted a small kiss to her temple, having the same thoughts as Hanni about the origins of Haerin's flustered face.
Danielle all but suppressed a laugh at the smug faces of Minji and Hanni, and your's and Haerin's visible shyness at your girlfriends cute acts.
"Have a good meal everyone!"
---------------------------------------------------
"I'm dead." You grumbled as you flopped down on Haerin's sofa. "Deceased. Five foot below the earth. My grave is already decaying from how dead I am." You let out another grumble, your hazy mind not identifying who of the girls was laughing at you.
"Stop being dramatic, bro." Minji threw a pillow at you as she sat down on the other sofa, but you didn't move a muscle.
"Fuck you, bro." You turned your head slightly to give Minji an annoyed face.
"No, fuck you bro." She retorted, barely hiding that she was having fun making fun of you.
"Stop swearing in front of the kid." Hanni gave the two of you a stern look, standing in front of your face. "Move. You can rest your head on my lap." Despite her words, she was the one holding your head up and carefully laying it down on her lap as she sat down, hands going to caress your hair on instinct. "You okay, love?" She looked down at you as you adjusted your position to face her stomach, your eyes heavy and forehead creased.
"I hate the sun." You mumbled, closing your eyes and sighing in content as you were finally out of the burning and bright sun, and close to your lovely girlfriend without your skins rubbing uncomfortably because of the sweat.
Hanni smiled down at you, scratching your scalp lightly as she simply watched your face slowly contort to its relaxed state. Ignoring completely the other four girls arguing about which movie would you watch during the rest of the evening, the vietnamese girl busied herself with tracing your face with her free hand.
Hanni would have never imagined that she would've met someone like you when she came to Korea to study abroad. She could still remember clearly the first time you two met. It was her second period of the day, biology class. The teacher had paired you two together because you were the only one that could speak english as Hanni was still beginning to learn korean. She thought you were cute, quietly explaining to her in english any important topic the teacher was saying. How sincere your smile was when you learned you two shared almost all periods and you'd have the same classes for the rest of the day was something that made Hanni feel very welcomed in the unfamiliar environment.
She wouldn't really say it was love at first sight, although she really hoped you'd become friends after that day. No, she too could remember like it was yesterday the first time she realized she was in love with you. It had been several months after your first meeting, Hanni fitting in your small group of friends like the last piece of a puzzle. You and the rest of the girls had went out to buy your costumes for Halloween, but got sidetracked with the many stores in the streets. Her, Hyein and you got separated from the group as you felt hungry and the others wanted to go to a thrift store you weren't really that interested in visiting.
Hanni had been struggling a bit to put a name on what was her feelings for you. She knew the others felt like sisters to her already, but calling you a sister was weird. She loved being around you. She felt at peace when she was with you. Minji would always comment on how she would laugh the hardest at the silly things you said and did. She loved how you took care of her and she loved taking care of you, even if you were extremely stubborn about being taken care of. She loved silently watching you do anything. She loved when you held hands, or when you squeezed hers to get her attention because you sometimes just didn't feel like talking but still wanted to show her something. She loved how goofy you were, she even had a whole album on her gallery of just silly photos she took of you. Haerin would always point out that she never cringed at your attempts of flirting even though she cringed at everyone else's, even if it wasn't directed at her. Danielle would always make kissy faces whenever she took a picture of you two together. And Hyein would say you two were her parents at any given opportunity she had. Still, Hanni didn't know what to call her feelings for you. Sure, she had had crushes in her life before. Even Minji when they met for the first time, but that's only something you and her diary know about. But she never felt the way she felt for you before. And she didn't know if you were only a really really close friend, or something else.
But that all changed that day when you and Hyein decided you wanted corn dogs from a stand in the middle of the street. She laughed as you two seriously discussed about what to order for yourselves, smile getting just a bit bigger as she watched your cute serious face. After getting your hands on the hot corn dogs, that soothed momentarily the chilly air of autumn, the three of you were bickering about your dislike for ketchup.
"But it tastes weird!" You argued back, giving Hyein a look of disgust as she poured a lot of ketchup on her corn dog. "I'm good with my mustard and mayo, thank you very much." Hyein gave you her tongue before taking a bite of her food, jumping in happiness. Hanni couldn't help but notice how you had a small smile watching Hyein. She had always felt like a little sister to you.
Hanni didn't know why, but watching you look with such adoration at your food as you put your sauces on it in preparation to eat it made her heart start racing. But that wasn't what made her realize, no. When you took your first bite, getting irritated at your nose getting dirty with mustard, quickly getting amazed and excited as you got a big cheese pull, asking Hyein to take a picture. That's when she realized. To her, it felt like the world had slowed down. Watching as your beautiful hair moved along your head as you got in position to pose for Hyein. The corners of your lips dirty with sauce slowly getting up as Hyein hyped you for your cheese pull. Your nose still scrunched because of the mustard despite your annoyance long gone. Your eyes slowly growing into crescent moons. The street lights shining perfectly on your face, making you look like the most beautiful person in the world. The snort you let out as Hyein showed you the picture she took. And finally, your eyes meeting as you looked at Hanni out of pure excitement because you'd always look at Hanni when you were excited about something. The only thing that crossed Hanni's mind when she looked at you at that moment was: Damn, I really love you.
The rest of the night Hanni spent with her mind wondering around her new realization. Suddenly, she started noticing even more the effects you had on her and she was a blushing mess the rest of the night.
Haerin, the ever so observant cat-like girl, pulled her aside that night when Danielle had dragged you away to look at some costumes, to tell her she was glad she had finally realized she liked you because you had known you liked her for a while now but was too scared to tell her. Hanni was confused on how Haerin had realized that so quickly, but extremely happy to know her feelings were mutual. They both knew you didn't had the most amazing confessing experiences, so Haerin was doing you a favor in telling Hanni of your feelings for the vietnamese girl. She asked you to date her three days after that.
"What are you thinking about, Hanhan?" Hanni got pulled away from her thoughts by you giggling at her tracing your nose with her fingers, eyes looking up at Hanni with adoration and curiosity. "You have the eyes you do when you..." You traced off blushing, but keeping the eye contact.
"When I?" Hanni inquired quietly, lost in your aura. After you didn't answer, ears getting more red, she smiled down at you, booping your nose. "I was just thinking about you. And how much I love you." Your smiles mirrored each other, getting lost in each others eyes momentarily.
"That's it." You said after a while, seemingly out of nowhere. Your eyes softened as your girlfriend looked down at you in confusion, her eyes getting bigger. "The love doved look you give me just before you randomly confess your love for me." You giggled as Hanni's eyebrows squeezed together, a small pout on her lips as she seemed to be thinking.
"I do that?" You simply nodded.
"I love it, don't worry." You let out a silent laugh as her entire demeanor changed. She smirked down at you, wiggling her eyebrows seductively before blowing you a kiss. "Stop being weird!"
"What? I thought you loved it." She made another weird seductive face, blowing you another kiss. This time, your laugh left your chest with a loud sound.
"Hey you two, stop being gay!" Minji's voice got the two of you out of your love bubble, making you look at her as a calm smile settled on your lips. "The movie is about to begin, you better not be smooching during it." She had a serious face, but it only made you snicker at the irony of her words. Minji had her arms and legs wrapped around Haerin, chin resting on the younger girl's shoulder as the latter gave her multiple kisses on her cheek. "I better not hear any kissing sounds!"
"How about you stop being homophobic?!" Hanni retaliated, making Danielle laugh as she dropped the remote control to look at the two girls. "And what rights do you have to say anything about kissing? You two are all over each other in there and no one is complaining." You and Haerin shared a look, rolling your eyes and giggling quietly as your girlfriends kept on bickering.
It was a fun few minutes of the duo bickering as you waited for Hyein to finish making the popcorns so you could start the movie. Anything about the small 'argument' long gone as soon as the movie started playing and you all excitedly got up to dance and sing to the songs of Mamma Mia.
---------------------------------------------------
You sighed in content as the chill breeze hit your face, smiling as a familiar pair of arms sneaked around your waist and a subtle sweet scent filled your nostrils. You leaned back on Hanni's warm body as you looked up at the night sky.
"Satisfied?" You hummed. You two and the rest of the girls had just left a ramyeon restaurant after having a good dinner there and were on your way back to your sleepover at Haerin's house. But none of you were in a rush to go back home just yet.
You silently watched as Danielle quietly talked to her parents over the phone, a big smile on her face as she kicked a rock around. Minji and Haerin were slowly walking with their hands laced together ahead of you all, as Minji let herself snuggle to her girlfriend's side. The couple quietly talking about something as you could her them giggling every once in a while. Hyein was taking pictures of the sky and of you all when she thought no one was looking, muttering to herself in pride when she found the pictures pretty. And Hanni was hugging you from behind as you stopped to bask in the moment.
"Oh! The playground is empty!" Haerin squealed, tugging Minji to go climb and sit at the little house with a slide.
An excited noise left Hanni's mouth as she laced her hand with yours and pulled you towards the playground.
You gave Danielle and Hyein one last look as you heard Dani's mom's voice over the speaker as Hyein excitedly said hello, the two too engrossed on the conversation with Dani's kind parents to tease the two couples in the group for their little getaway.
You let out a small giggle as Hanni pulled you behind a tall slide and pressed your body against the wall. "I missed you." One of her hands went up to your cheek, the other holding your waist as she got closer. You couldn't see her face properly as you two weren't facing any lights, but you could feel her gaze on you, making your cheeks get warm.
"We've been together the whole day, angel." You quietly said, feeling your heartbeat get faster. No matter how long you and Hanni have been together, your body still reacted to her the same way it did when you first started to have a crush on her.
"I know. But we've been together with the girls the entire day." Her voice got low as she got impossibly closer, caressing your cheek as your lips lightly brushed against each other. "I didn't even get to kiss you properly today because the sun and Minji decided to be bitches at the same time." You let your head fall to the wall as a laugh escaped your throat.
"Well, the sun is no longer here and Minji is busy making out with Haerin. So what are you waiting for, my love?" You boldly said, smiling in expectation as Hanni squeezed your waist.
The older girl only hummed as she finally closed the small gap between you two, pressing her body on yours as your lips moved together in synchrony. Your arms sneaked around her neck, hands playing with the baby hair at her nape. You felt her tongue against your lips asking for permission and you all but opened your mouth, letting out a noise of contentment as your tongues met, relaxing in her arms.
As much as your kiss was desperate, it wasn't feverish. You simply missed each others touch and comfort.
Ending the kiss with a few small pecks, making you giggle in-between them, Hanni rested her forehead on yours as her fingers drew small circles on your waist. You closed your eyes, taking in a deep breath, lips quirked up in content.
"I love you." You whispered, smile getting bigger as Hanni squeezed your waist at the confession.
"I love you too." Hanni leaning in for another kiss, this one slower than the previous one. You noses brushed against each other as Hanni tilted her face, pouring all of her love for you through that kiss.
You two stayed like this for a few minutes, simply basking into each others love and comfort, sharing kisses and small confessions.
Right now, Hanni had her head rested on the crook of your neck, your hand mindlessly playing in her hair as you two swayed slowly side to side.
"Guys?! Where are you?! Haerin's mom just texted me asking why we're not home yet!" You heard Danielle's voice not too far away, probably looking for you two and Minji and Haerin through the playground.
Hanni groaned on your neck, squeezing you as she whined. "I don't wanna go just yet." You chuckled, rubbing her back in comfort.
"There you are!" Hyein jumped behind the slide you were, waving to you as she silently laughed at Hanni's curled up form on your arms. "We have to go, unnie. It's getting late."
"Boo-hoo." Hanni whined once again, squeezing you and leaning back to give you one last kiss before breaking from your hold to turn and point a finger at Hyein. "You're such a moodbreaker." You and Hyein both laughed at her as the three of you made your way to Danielle in the middle of the playground.
"Did unnies have a good time?" The youngest girl in the group looked at the two of you with curiosity, a small teasing smile on her face as she looked at your laced hands.
Before Hanni could make any other accusing comment, as you knew she would, you answered Hyein as you gave your girlfriend a single warning squeeze on her hand. "We did, Hyehye." You smiled at the taller girl. "Was your talk with Dani's parents good?"
"Yes!" Her eyes widened in excitement as she broke your hands from each other to hold them and stay between the two of you, swinging both of your hands as she started talking. "Her dad said he'd talk to our parents to see if we can spend the holidays at their house! And then we can invite Hanni unnie's family over and spend the holidays everyone together!"
"Oh, really?!" Hanni looked at her, an excited smile forming on her lips. "My sister has been dying to meet you guys! She never stops talking about that one time you guys invaded our face time to prank me!" Hanni rolled her eyes at the memory of the prank, but kept her excitement as she and Hyein began making plans fo the holidays.
You giggled at them, happy to just listen.
Turning your head around to check on the other three girls as Hyein and Hanni had seemely forgotten they weren't automatically following you home, you stop walking to wait for them, halting the two girls on their actions but they were too engrossed on their conversation to even notice, Hyein still swinging your hands as if you were still walking.
You had to suppress a laugh not to disturb the two girls by your side when you saw Danielle scolding Minji for Haerin's disheveled hair, not a single ounce of regret on the older girl's face as she smiled with pride while having her arm around Haerin's shoulders.
You waved at the cat-like girl as she tugged Minji's shirt and waved to Danielle to follow you three. Despite the dim lights, you knew Haerin too well to know by her body language that she was embarrassed by the two girls. You simply smiled at her as you stretched your hand out for her to grab it as she tried to run away from Minji's smug face.
"Oh! Are we doing a chain? Yay!" Danielle squealed as Minji went to hold Haerin's other hand, grabbing Minji's free hand with excitement as she led the six of you back to the main sidewalk.
You giggled as you and your friends engaged into Hyein's and Hanni's conversation about the holidays at Danielle's parents house. You felt happy and loved as only your friends could make you feel.
You went home that day content, having a small smile on your face as you cuddled into Hanni's side on your bed, falling into a peaceful slumber.

“Hey, babe.” Jin said, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he wandered into the kitchen, drawn by the comforting scent of home cooked food.
“Hi, Jinnie, did you have a good nap?” You said, noting the lingering drowsiness in his eyes.
“Mhm, whatcha making?” He tried to lean around you to swipe a taste from the pot you were stirring, but you were quick to swat his hand away.
“Ack, don’t touch! It’s for Joonie.” You said,
earning a frown from him.
Four days ago, while the group was traveling together for promotions, Namjoon had come down with a bad stomach bug and had to sit out several events. The guys had felt bad about having to leave him holed up at the hotel, pretty much on his own, other than the ocasional staff member coming by to check on him, but luckily you had offered to look after him and keep him company, having tagged along on the trip at Jin’s request(or more acurately, dramatic wailing that he couldn’t stand going two entire weeks without seeing you. “I’ll die! You have to come with me, please!”).
At the time, Jin had been more than grateful, his heart twisting in his chest at the care and tenderness you displayed towards his bandmates, but now that everyone was home, and Joon was on the mend, he couldn’t help begining to feel a little neglected by your continued doting on the younger member.
“Does he really still need your help?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” You turned to look at him, brow furrowing at his question.
“I’m just saying he’s a grown man, he can take care of himself.”
“I know that, I just want to make sure he’s got some good food to help him bounce back. Besides, you know what a terrible cook he is.” You replied, returning you attention to the stove.
When you received no further response, though, you glanced back over at where he leaned against the counter, taking in the slight pout that still lingered on his face. “Is something wrong?”
“No.” He said flatly, avoiding your gaze.
“Jin.”
“I just-, I don’t know, don’t you think you’re going a little overboard for him? Honestly, people would think he’s your boyfriend instead of me.” He said, the last part coming out grumbled under his breath.
You whipped around to look at him fully. “What was that?”
He stopped, catching the slight edge in your voice. “Nothing.”
“No, you said something, what did you mean though?” You pressed, already having an inkling about what was going on in his head. Jin liked to believe that he wasn’t an easily jealous person, but you’d been with him long enough to know that wasn’t the truth, he just had the tendency to stuff it down and brood over it rather than adimit it. “Babe, we’ve been over this, If somethings bothering you, you need to say it.”
“I don’t like you spending all your time fussing over Namjoon,” He rolled off quickly. “It feels weird. You’re my partner, not his. And maybe it's selfish, but I just want your attention for me.”
“Okay, fine!” You attached yourself to his front, wrapping your arms around his waist tightly. “Better?”
“Mmm.” He shrugged, sounding unsure.
“How about now?” You standing on your tiptoes to press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“Okay, maybe a little.” He caved, leaning down so you could better reach his face, sighing as you gave him another, less inocent kiss.
“I’m sorry for making you jealous. I didn’t think it would bother you so much.” You said.
“Don’t apologize, I shouldn’t have let it get to me.”
“How about this? We drop off this soup at Joons place, and then I’ll give you all the attention you want for the rest of the night?” You offered teasingly.
He looked away, trying to hide his growing smirk. “I guess that would be okay.”
“Just okay?” You asked, running your fingers through his hair, earning a small shiver from him.
“You know you really shouldn’t be rewarding this kind of behavour.” He mused.
“Why?” You asked.
“Because I sounded like a baby complaining that I’m not getting enought attention.”
“You’re my baby.” You said.
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.” You muttered, kissing him again. “You know you don’t have anything to be jealous of.”
“I know, I just missed you.”
“I’m right here, I’ll always be right here.” You promised him, cupping his jaw as you spoke, a sudden frown crossing your features as you felt how warm his skin was. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah, why?”
“You’re kinda hot.”
He scoffed. “Thanks.”
“No, I mean I think you might have a fever.” You pulled away, looking at him worriedly. “Let me get the thermometer.”
“I’m fine.” He argued, to no avail.
He wanted you attention, he should’ve been careful what he wished for.

"It's in the kitchen" You say, leaning against the door as you close it behind Trevor and Phoebe. Callie and Gary look to the kids, silently asking if they could do it on their own.
The pair nod, letting the adults sit on the stairs in front of the door. You lead the teens into the kitchen, showing them Slimer, eating everything out of your fridge.
"Fourth time this month. It stayed long enough for me to able to call" You inform quietly, watching Trevor beside you nod, Phoebe looking on with a bit of disgust and confusion. "He's a nice little guy, but I can't afford it in this economy"
"Yeah, we can take care of that for you," the boy replies, a quiet tone shaping his words so as not to scare the ghoulish creature raiding your fridge. He looks over at you, clearly a look in his eyes like he wanted to impress you for some reason.
Phoebe rolls her eyes and grabs a trap off the side of her proton pack, handing it to Trevor. "Go on, impress them"
"I'm not-" Trevor quickly speaks, then sighs, "Whatever"
He quietly sets up the trap, avoiding Slimer, now sitting on the floor, infecting the floorboards with its green goop. He stands back, crouched down in the doorway, foot on the lever of the trap. The proton thrower rests in his arms, finger on the trigger as he tries to lure Slimer toward the trap, hidden behind the doorway.
Unfortunately, the plan didn't work how Trevor wanted, now covered in green slime.
"Shit" He mumbles, wiping the goo off of his face.
You chuckle with a little smile, looking to Phoebe who gave you that "make him stop" look.
"Sorry, uh.." Trevor awkwardly says, gathering the trap to hand it back to Phoebe. "That obviously didn't go how it was intended"
"It was still impressive, I've never seen someone with so much patience try to do this before" You say, purposefully trying to boost his ego.
He smiles, "Yeah, uh, well... I'll clean all this up for you." He wipes some more slime off of himself, trying to move it to the floor for easier cleaning. "Uh, where's your mop?"
You point to a closet in the hallway, leading him to the cleaning supplies. Phoebe pulls you away, telling Trevor that you needed to speak with Callie and Gary for a moment.
"You've got an impressive son out there, ma'am," you say with a smile, quickly catching focus of her kind and comforting presence. "He's a real gem"
"Oh, yeah" She smiles, "He's a special one. Kind boy, I swear"
Phoebe looks at her mom with the same look. "Are you trying to wingman for Trevor?"
👻🕸️☆⋆。𖦹°‧★👻🕸️☆⋆。𖦹°‧★👻🕸️☆⋆。𖦹°‧★
"This is the power level indicator, and that's the intensification button, to like, up the anti, yknow?" Trevor explains, showing you how the proton thrower worked, trying to find any sense of interest in your eyes.
Luckily, your facial expression showed that clearly, as you were actually paying attention to him and the explanation of how his gear worked. You nod in response to him, trying to think of a question to ask to not make things weird.
"So, like, what do protons do? Like, to ghosts?"
"Oh!" He smiles, thanking whatever force was out there that you asked a question he could answer. "Basically-"
"Basically, he wants to go on a date with you" Phoebe quickly buts in, walking past with a smug smile for Trevor.
He quickly looks back to you, eyes widened. "Uh, don't listen to her!"
"I mean, I'd like that," you shrugged. "I'm impressed. That's what you wanted, right? I'll go out with you"
He blinks a few times, trying to make sure he'd heard you correctly. "Uh, oh my God, uhm, okay!" He nods. "Did I actually impress you?"
You smile and nod, giving him the answer he wanted, and you knew was the truth.
"You owe me twenty dollars, Phoebe!"

how the main 4 would react when the new kid was getting too close to you
note: THANKYO FOR THE LIKES, hope you guys like this one too! this one is a bit long sorry!!
♡ ˂͈
kenny mccormick
there was a new kid at school, and he was real popular with the ladies because of how handsome and how he talks to the girls.
and it looks like he took a liking to you, he would alwaysssss talk to you, even at lunch he would ask you to sit with him and his gang instead of kennys gang
you were an angel so of course you accepted his friendly demeanor,
at first kenny was okay with it but when you two were getting TOO close he got suspicious
he hated how touchy and how you were laughing at the new kids joke, you were even slapping your knee at how funny it was!!
you reassured him that you didnt think of the new kid like that but he was worried on how he thought of you, he even gave you flowers?!?, you obviously threw them away.
kenny went to confront him but the new kid said that he had liked you for long and was willing to fight for you, oh kenny was burning fire at that point
he told his friends and being the supportive friends they were, they made a plan. the same night the new kid told kenny that he liked you, kenny and all of his friends sneaked into his bedroom and thrashed it!
luckily they ONLY thrashed it, kenny was about to commit arson. he left a note on the bed saying "don't touch my girl again."
the next day the new kid kept his distance and you asked kenny about it and he acted as if nothing happened, same goes for stan kyle and cartman. kenny didn't care if you knew or not as long as you were his again it was okay <3
stan marsh
when the new kid first approached you it was when you were with stan and the others, it went quiet. the new kid had asked you to go to movies with him this weekend. remembering the plans you had with the other you declined but he insisted.
stan was suspicious but he let you go and said you can hang out with them the other day because he thought the new kid just wanted to make friends and since you were the friendly type he approached you first
but just incase, he bought the same tickets and spied on you with kyle, you guys were watching a romance movie and stan bought tickets directly behind you two, kyle thought it was a stupid idea but went with it because he had his suspicions too
and guess what the entire movie the new kid had his eyes on you, no like every time there was a funny scene or a sad scene the new kid would immediately look at you to see your reaction, this made stan annoyed and mad tbh
not only that the new kid tried doing the yawning hand on the shoulders thing, it didnt work because you sneezed and it made him jump
oh at that point stan was hella mad, the movie ended and as you were gonna get up the new kid pulled you down to sit again, stan was seeing blood fr, you two were talking and laughing
all of the sudden you texted stan "call me and act like its an emergency, this new kid weird lmao" stan was smiling and almost laughed, he quickly left the cinema with kyle behind him and called you acting like you needed to be home, when you exited the cinema you were surprised to see the two of them waiting for you
you kinda knew but wasnt sure, you didn't care as long as you were away with that freak new kid, stan was also happy he got his girlfriend back :))
kyle broflovski
one day when kyle you and the others was on their way to the class, arriving and your desk was crowded with people, stan asked what was going on and bebe said you got flowers from the new kid, you were surprised and pushed your way to the nosy people and saw a big bouquet of flowers with a note beside it saying "these remind me of you - new kid"
you smiled a little out of respect but in all honesty you hated it, you felt uncomfortable to say the least, you looked over at kyle who now has his arms crossed and glared at you, you smiled and just sat down puting the flowers on the floor for throwing away later, when everyone was just settling in the new kid came in and came over to you "hows the flowers? they looked pretty just like you" he said while smirking
you wanted to kill him, so gross, you said it was okay and told him he didnt need to all of that because you already have kyle , and you wanna know what this boy had to say? he just smiled looked at kyle and said "well lets fight for y/n then kyle"
kyle wasnt about to fight anyone and refused, (although he almost jumped that man right there and then) and guess what the new kid called him a chicken!! "OOO FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" "shut the fuck up fattass"
before kyle could say anything in return mr garrison came and told everyone to sit down, during the whole class the two of them were glaring at each other.
lunch came and you Wendy bebe and the other girls went to have lunch tgt, all of the sudden butters burst through the canteen doors and yelled "FIGHTT, KYLES ABOUT TO FIGHT THE NEW KID"
you were shocked and asked butters what happened, he just said that after lunch the new kid challenged kyle and now their fighting
going out to the playground you saw a big group of people and saw glimpses of kyle and the new kid fighting, luckily you came in to break the fight apart (bc tbh kyle would've lost that fight)
kyle was sent to detention with the new kid which was stupid bc that would just cause another fight, you sneaked kyle out bc tbh the teacher was sleeping and could care less, kyle was now inside your room getting treated by you, you told him it was stupid to fight over you like that
in his defense the new kid was irritating him sm he couldn't hold it in, you reassured him that you already threw away the flowers and loved only him
after that you two cuddled and talked shit about the new kid tgt <33
eric cartman
at first he didnt care when the new kid would play with you on the playground, would laugh so hard with you, always gave you gifts, being by your side 24/7, being extra touchy with you, not paying attention in class and even having inside jokes tgt!! ..... or maybe it did bother him..
as time went on you were spending way more time with the new kid than him, he was so mad. he wanted to rip every bone from the new kids body, you told cartman that you thought of the new kid as your close friend and nothing more and he believed you but wbt the new kid? what did he thought of you??
cartman approached him and asked tons of questions abt you, the new kid knew you two had smthn and decided to play with cartman saying he liked you and wanted to date you but oh no he shouldnt have said that, the new kid was well obviously new so he didnt know what cartman was capable of
that night cartman went to the new kids house and saw he had a dog (sorry guys 😞) cartman made a very obscure plan to kill the dog and put a note next to the corpse "never ever touch her again"
for two days the new kid didnt come to school and you texted him but he didnt reply, the third day he came to school his eyes were puffed up and he looked scared and nervous, when he made eye contact with cartman he flinched and got scared you were curious but thought nothing cz most kids were scared of cartman
the new kid was distance to you and tbh you were pretty sad but you didn't care and was back to your usual self hanging out with cartman and the gang,
cartman couldnt be happier ;)

Hikaru X male reader that recently started going to Ouran and walked into the host club wondering what it was?
Here you go! Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
(Name) looked around confused. He was lost. It was his first week here at Ouran High School. He was looking for the art club. See he was here on a Art Scholarship . His family wasn't as rich as most families here but his family wasn't exactly poor either. But he knew this school would help his future.
He was just opening random doors at this point. It's been like 15 minutes and he literally couldn't find the art club room. He opened another door and froze when rose petals fell down. Standing at the front of the room was about 7 guys. All posing and they greeted him in union. "Welcome~". They stared at each other for a few seconds when (Name) shook out of his frozen state.
"Excuse me! I didn't meanto barge in!" (Name) looked so guilty. "I was looking for the art club room. I'm new here and wasn't shown around...." (Name) bowed slightly when the tall male with glasses spoke up. "The Art Club room is 4 rooms to the right." (Name) lit up and it looked like he was surrounded by flowers. "Oh! Thank you...?" Kyoya pushed up his glasses and went to speak before Tamaki interrupted.
"Your so sweet! What's your name?" Tamaki was up in (Name)'s face and the others could tell he was uncomfortable. Luckily Hikaru was close to them so he pulled the (hair color) male away from Tamaki. "Sorry Boss but he looks extremely uncomfy with you all in his face." Kyoya slid beside them with his trusty black book in his hand. "(Last Name) (Name). In Class 1-B here on a Art Scholarship. His father owns an Art Gallery and the mother isn't in the picture."
(Name) looked even more uncomfortable now. "Um excuse me for being rude but what is this place and how did you know all that?" Tamaki brighten up getting in (Name)'s face again and went to speak when Hikaru pushed his face away. He looked down at (Name) and smiled. "Sorry about him. He doesn't know personal space. This is Ouran's very own Host Club."
(Name) looked confused. A host club? In a high school? (Name) shrugged his shoulders at his own question. "Well it your own business. I'm sorry for interrupting your club time so I'll go ahead and leave now." (Name) tried to leave when Hikaru wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "Since we're in the same grade why don't I give you a tour of the school?" (Name) brightened up and flowers surrounded him again.
"Could you please? Although could it be done tomorrow? I'm quite late for my art club. It was nice to meet you?" "Hitachiin Hikaru. That guys over there is my twin Kaoru. The tall guys with the small Blond is Mori. The small Blond is Honey. The guy with the glasses is Kyoya. The guy with the brown hair is Haruhi. Finally the guy who doesn't know personal space is Tamaki."
(Name) nodded trying to stick names to faces. "Okay tall and short is Mori and Honey. Glass is Kyoya. Brunett is Haruhi. You and your twin are Hikaru and Kaoru. And the weird guy is Tamaki?" Hikaru nodded while Tamaki went to his emo corner. "He called me the weird guy!?" "Well boss you are kinda weird." The twins replied without hesitation. The other hosts laughed.
(Name) checked his watch and his eyes grew wide. "Oh god I'm so late! Bye Hik-kun!" (Name) ran out of the host club and to the art club room not noticing the blush on Hikaru's face or the smirk on his twins face.
The next day as promised Hikaru gave (Name) a tour of Ouran and ended it at the art club room. "Well that's all of our school." (Name) nodded with a smile. The school was huge but beautiful. "Hey (Last Name)-" (Name) cut him off with a bright smile. "Just (Name) please. I call you by your first name it's only fair." Hikaru nodded.
"Well (Name) can I ask why you wanted to come to Ouran of all schools? I mean Kyoya said you were here on an Art Scholarship. So that means you have to be incredibly good at it. But Ouran isn't exactly know for its art." (Name) smiled sadly. "My mother went here. Before she left she used to tell me about how amazing Ouran was. So I made it my mission to go to here." Hikaru had a troubled look on his face. "May I ask why your mother left?"
(Name)'s face saddned. "My father owns an art gallery. So he wasn't making as much money as she wanted so she left. Jokes on her though thanks to my art my dad is making more and more money." (Name) had a confident look on his face. Hikaru chuckled shaking his head. "You'll have to show me some of your art later then." It was like Hikaru turned on a bright flashlight.
"Actually Mr. Kyoya asked me to paint the host club members!" Hikaru looked confused. "Kyoya hired you to paint us? Why?" Well he showed up to my dad's art gallery yesterday after clubs and apparently he bought a lot of my art work and when my dad said who painted it he asked him if I could paint him and his club members! My dad was so happy...." (Name)'s smile was just so bright. Hikaru nodded. "Can't wait."

The Little Nash: Buddie's Girl
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Callie: So, guess who is back in my life.
Dazja: I thought he lived in Texas. When did he move and why is he a firefighter. Not that I am complaining about that. Wait, are you going to connect both books?
Callie: I think so. Plus, it would make life easier for me. Though Eddie found out I wrote some spicy scenes, and he wasn’t happy. But that other guy who I was thinking about making the other love interest, seemed to calm Eddie down. He is totally cool with a love interest.
Dazja: Just be careful. Don’t get feelings like you did last time.
After that I didn’t respond to her. Eddie had been someone I was close to, but feelings were something I never accounted for. I was normally good at keeping myself at arm’s length from those I was working with. Eddie just broke through so many walls I held up, but I couldn't start anything. Luckily at the time he was married, and I didn’t worry about that. Now I have no idea if those feelings will return or if Buck will be the new person they will go too. I pray for neither or hell even both.
I got up for the day and started to look for my old files on Eddie. I made it a mission to learn everything I can about the people I write about to make it seem more real and less like interviews. It helped to humanize some of the soldiers who didn’t have much of a personality except that they needed to protect others.
I found the file I was looking for, the one about his wife Shannon. I figured that I needed to update the file seeing as if Eddie was in LA, she was too. I looked up her name and LA in a search bar. What I learned saddened me. She died. Eddie must have been devastated. I decided to look up the case file from her death. I needed to get access to that.
As if someone knew I was doing research, there was a knock on my door. Okay no one knew where I lived yet. But when I opened the door, there was my brother and a woman I wasn’t sure who she was. I let them in and asked if they wanted anything.
“Callie, this is my wife, Athena.”
“You got married again?”
Bobby only nodded. I didn’t waste anytime and hugged her and welcomed her to our weird ass family. She seemed surprised by how okay I was with them not inviting me to the wedding. I had no issue with it mostly because I was too busy writing my novel at the time I wasn’t really talking to anyone except my editor.
Bobby promised that the three of us would get together and have dinner. I agreed as long as he didn’t mind, I used it as an interview for my new book. Athena looked at me with confusion. I told her about my new idea and how the two male love interests were going to be based on Buck and Eddie. Which was the first Bobby heard about.
“No.”
“My book, my rules. Besides, Buck already agreed, and Eddie has given me permission to use his likeness and or his personality in any novel I write.”
Athena just gave Bobby a look, which I read as ‘your sister is sassy, and I like her.’.  I high fived her for her support. We all sat down to have some breakfast before Bobby’s shift started. As we ate, I was glad to have a sister-in-law who didn’t take any of Bobby’s shit. At one point Bobby went to the restroom and I got a chance to talk to Athena alone.
“How the hell did my brother get to be with an amazing woman? Like seriously, he has no game at all, and the man has some fucking issues.”
“It just happened. We decided to give it a shot after an interesting call about a man on a motorcycle. Besides that, everything about us has been good. Your brother is a good man who has been through hell and back.”
“I know he is. He just worries about me sometimes. We didn’t talk for a long time after I left to work as a journalist who wrote about overseas missions. That’s how I know Eddie. I was embedded with his team on his last tour.”
“Bobby told me about that. I read some of your articles from your time there. You never used anyone’s name. Why?”
“Its their story to tell, if they want to put their name on it that’s not my decision to make.”
Before I could say anything else, Bobby came back. I told her we would talk later. Athena just laughed. Bobby told me that if I planned on going in today, that I should get ready before he left and he would drive me to the firehouse. I told him to just go on without me. I had to do something first. Athena asked what I needed to do. Grabbing my laptop, I showed them my google search about Shannon. Bobby was the first to speak up. He told me not to talk about her around Eddie. Like I was planning on bringing more trauma to his life than he has already been through.
After talking to them about what I needed to know about Shannon’s death, I was glad I never mentioned that Diego, the character based on Eddie, had a wife. I had written about a son, but never a wife. Which I can easily explain in this new book. My heart broke for Eddie, he was a good man who had more love to give than he was given. The few times I talked to Shannon without Eddie’s knowledge; I hated her. Though I understood what she was the way she was about Christopher. She had no clue what it was like to have a child with a disability.
I walked the two of them out. Before I could get dressed, I started crying. Eddie needed someone in his life who could be not only his rock but also good with Christopher. Though I knew that crying for a man who didn’t want to talk to me right now was pathetic, I cared about him. I got myself composed and got ready to be in interview mode.
Getting to the fire house wasn’t that hard, but getting out of my car was. Just as I was going to open my door, I saw Eddie’s truck. Taking a few deep breaths, I opened my door and walked toward him.
“Eddie?”
“Calliope.”
“Okay I deserve that. Listen, I promise I never meant to keep those scenes from you. It just never felt like the right time to bring them up. After everything that happened to us in Afghanistan, I figured that you didn’t want to talk about anything relating to your time there. I promise to try and make this up to you. The first step for that is informing you that the next book will be a sequel which makes the series into a why choose romance. Diego will still be there, but Stella, the female lead, will have another male who takes interest in her. He will be based on Buck.”
“WHAT?! First you write scenes with basically you and me. Now its going to be you and Buck?”
Before I could explain anything, Eddie walked away, leaving me standing there like an idiot. Slowly, I walked to the lobby to check in with Bobby. Almost immediately he knew something was wrong. I just shook my head and told him to drop it. As I started setting up in one of the spare offices, Buck entered. He looked like he wanted to apologize for something.
“Eddie’s response to what the plans are for my novels are valid for him. Though he didn’t let me explain that it wasn’t just scenes that he thinks I am going to write. The character that is going to be based on you will be having some sex scenes that are with my female lead. Eddie thinks it means something more than it is.”
Buck tried to help me understand where Eddie was coming from. Though I suspect it has more to do with not wanting his teammate in a foul mood at a scene. I thanked him for listening and asked when we could do our first interview session. The word session messed with Buck a little. He seemed annoyed by it. I just laughed at his face.
“Guessing you don’t like the thought of therapy? That is kind of what interviews are though. At least in my experience.”
“Just don’t want people to see me in the wrong light.”
“Buck, the interview is just for me. Its to help me pick details for your character. I might even show you the first one I did with Eddie some day. With his permission of course. Consent is sexy.”
My final sentence made Buck laugh. We talked for a bit and got to work on scheduling his first interview. Learning about Buck was nice. He had a good heart and I was hoping to reflect it in the novel. The bell rang and they all went out. Eddie was the man behind for the first half of the shift. Which was just fantastic.
I distanced myself from him and started working on an outline for the story. We weren’t going to be talking anytime soon with his attitude the way it was, but I still held hope that he would let me explain.
Around lunch, once the team had returned, Bobby made burgers. He asked me and Buck to help make some sides. I worked on making fries, regular and sweet potato ones, while Buck made macaroni and potato salads.
“Why do people eat those? Mayonnaise is disgusting except in a few circumstances.”
“You don’t like mayonnaise? How are you Bobby’s sister?”
“You have no idea how many times I was asked that growing up. Minnesota is brutal when it comes to their salads. Though I think it has something to do with my mom being from Oregon. She was a character.”
Buck grabbed the salads as we walked to the table. He apologized if talking about my mother was difficult. Shrugging was my response. It wasn't hard to talk about her, it was more living with the memories of her and the ones i won't be able to share with her.
We got the table all set up just as Bobby finished the last of the burgers. I waited until everyone else had gotten their food before getting mine. Figuring I wasn't welcome to sit with the 118 family, I started to walk back to the office I was set up in.
Bobby asked me where I was heading. Gesturing to the office, he told me to sit down. Buck waved me over and I sat next to him. Eddie was on his other side. I thanked whichever god was watching over that Buck didn’t make me sit between the two of them. Lunch was a nice change of pace. Howard, who told me to call him Chim or Chimney, asked what the plans were for my time here.
“Well, once I have enough information from all of you guys, I'll probably leave until the book is done. No distractions. Though that is just the plan as of right now.”
“You'll leave like always” Eddie’s voice held a venom i wasn't surprised by.
“Edmundo, do we need to have a private conversation now, or wait until we schedule a time for an interview?”
“You are going to interview me again?”
“Yes, you have changed. Why wouldn't I want to know what has changed and what is the same.”
My comment shuts Eddie up for the time being. Buck lightly squeezes my hand under the table. The gesture was welcomed, but surprising. I tried to ignore the looks Bobby and Buck were giving me. But Bobby was the one I was more worried about. He never wanted me to date a firefighter.
I stopped talking after my staring contest with my brother. There was nothing worse than when Bobby got over protective. Especially after what happened in Minnesota.
After lunch, I went back to the office I was set up in, to work on setting up a schedule for who is doing interviews when as well as when I wouldl be shadowing the team to better understand what they do on calls. Bobby used to try and tell me, but I was bored most of the time. Never felt the need to know.
After roughly twenty minutes, Athena came to the door. She informed me that Bobby had asked her to check on me. Rolling my eyes, I shook my head.
“He wants to know what Eddie meant at lunch. I don’t want to talk about it. Besides, Eddie can’t say anything about my leaving when he was the one to… Nevermind, it’s in the past.”
“Eddie lead you on?”
“No, I got romantically invested, and I needed space. I think he thought I wanted to leave before their mission was finished. Which was not the case at all. The longer I was with them, the harder it was going to be for me to leave. Honestly I would have gone to Texas with him.”
Athena understood what I was impling with my confession. “Have you ever told him?”
I shook my head. He was married and I wasn’t going to be a homewrecker. Looking back now, Eddie always asking me about my personal life just as much as I was asking about his. Before I could tell her anything else, Buck walked in. I realize everyone was back. I thank Athena for listening. She gave Buck a pat on the shoulder as she left.
“I don’t want to talk about it. Eddie and I are a complicated friendship.”
“Good, because I asked Bobby a question. Now I am going to ask you one.”
“Buck?”
“Have dinner with me tonight?”

Tumblr media
This month had been hell for you.
Before you were stuck at home you were on Monday night raw, prepping for a match with your boyfriend, Damian Preist, and Rhea.
As you stretched out you listened to Rhea prep you up, this wasn’t that big of a match, but it would boost your career as a women’s star.
And if you could do that, you could win the royal rumble and take the championship from Iyo.
That was the plan.
That was always the plan.
You and Zoey had been feuding for a while. It started with a small argument between you and her, then spiraled into something bigger and bigger.
You watched on the screen in front of you, Kayla was interviewing her.
“When I get out there, I’m gonna make sure the break every bone in her body!”
Yeah right.
Yeah, right?
You never really took threats like that seriously. After all, if Shayna tried anything or if it got too rough Rhea could just interfere.
You didn’t expect them to actually be serious though.
“You got this mi amor, I love you”
You smiled and kissed Damian on the cheek
“I love you too D!”
The match started out well, you had the upper hand and you were working the crowd well with Rhea.
It wasn’t until she started to try and put you in the arm bar that you noticed something was odd.
“What the fuck are you doing?”
This was weird. She wasn’t even doing it right.
“Hey! What the fuck?!”
It wasn’t until she pulled all the way back and you felt your arm crack that you finally got the answer.
Luckily the ref saw as well, stopping the match instantly.
As soon as the bell rung Rhea was at your side, asking what was wrong and trying to get medical attention to you.
All you could really do was hold your now broken arm and wail in pain.
Eventually medics did come out and they were able to get you on a stretcher and roll you out. And luckily your boyfriend was waiting as soon as you hit backstage.
“Mi amor..”
Even with you being face to face with your boyfriend you couldn’t speak. How pathetic.
Unfortunately he wasn’t able to go with you either because he had tag titles to defend.
How unfortunate
It turned out that Zoey broke both your arm and collarbone. Putting you on the sidelines for a while.
Potentially out of the royal rumble.
So as you sat at your shared home, you had done nothing but sit in this spiral of what could’ve happened instead.
You hadn’t been able to properly shower because of the cast, and what you ate was minimal.
You felt horrible.
And you just wanted your boyfriend.
Oh how you missed your sweet, loving boyfriend.
You were able to call him every night, thank god. But still you just needed him to hold you close to him and tell you that everything was gonna be okay.
Fortunately, he was set to come home soon. But until then it was hell.
You were stuck in your bed all day, not being able to get up, but finally you heard the door open and a bag drop.
“Y/n?”
“I’m in here D”
It took less then 15 seconds for him to run to your bedroom.
You looked up at him and instantly burst into tears, feeling so many emotions jumbled into one small moment.
“Shhhh, it’s okay mi amor, it’s okay”
You melted into his touch, feeling his hands wrap around your cheeks, wiping away every tear that fell down.
“Damian, I missed you so much”
“Shhh I know, I’m right here now, don’t worry baby girl.”
You leaned into his chest, letting yourself feel the way it rose up and fell with every breath.
Suddenly you were at peace again. Your tears slowed down and all the emotions you had that was previously overwhelming you went away.
You closed your eyes and listened to his sweet mumbling, allowing yourself to finally release all the tension that you had built up.
You didn’t care about the rumble
You didn’t care about Zoey
And you didn’t care about the huge ass cast on your arm
You just cared about him.
His voice was smooth and deep, you could tell that he was talking with his chest this time.
Just the way you liked it.
As he heard and felt you had calmed down he helped you sit up better so that you guys were eye to eye.
“Do you feel better cariño?”
You nodded, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek.
His warm cheek felt good against your cold lips.
He smiled and pulled you closer to him, kissing your neck in the process.
“How about we shower together, that way I can help you and we can both unwind. Then we can order some food and eat together.”
The idea had never sounded better.
Luckily Damian knew how to take care of your hair, and body in general. The shower felt amazing with him, especially since he was able to help in ways you hadn’t been able to due to your injury.
As you sat on your shared bed you smiled, this was how things were supposed to go. You watched Damian come back into the room with some pizza, plopping it right beside you before crawling into the bed.
You started to reach for the box, but Damian stopped you.
“Don’t worry Mami, let me feed you”
You groaned a little
”But Damiannn, you’re tired too!”
“Don’t worry about it cariño, you just focus on being pretty, which is natural for you”
You groaned again, listening to Damian chuckle softly as he pressed a piece of pizza to your lips.
You ended up smiling again though, you wouldn’t have this any other way.

A Little Rusty (Ep.4)
Tumblr media
Summary: As an aspiring author and current intern, getting a new car was a luxury you never dreamed of. Natasha, your roommate, used you as a personal chauffeur until your car started breaking down. Luckily, you knew some people who worked at Auto Buddy, an auto shop, who could fix your car. But you hadn’t met Bucky yet, and quickly after you found out you’d be stuck with him for a little while.
Pairing: Mechanic!Bucky x reader
words: 4,888
Warnings: big altercation, mentions of death, fighting, yelling, angst-turned-fluff!
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Bucky had started avoiding you now.
When you worked as the secretary at Auto Buddy his eyes casted down and he didn’t flirt with you anymore. Before you had said his looks were too much but now there was a empty feeling in your chest, he didn’t compliment you anymore or really try to have a conversation. He needed space and you knew that, the entire altercation in the parking lot was just miscommunication that didn’t get cleared up soon enough.
You: hey, I know things are weird and stuff but I’d really like for you to come to the opener tonight, it would mean a lot.
Bucky: I’ll try my best to be there, things are coming up at home
As you sat in the house seats while watching the rehearsal you frowned at your phone, there were no text bubbles popping up so that was what he left you with, no explanation. Your book was pulled up beside you, your laptop shining a blue light on your face. You had started to get the ball moving when it came to publishers, emailing back and forth to see when a good meeting time would be. Only one company had really stuck with you but the boss was on vacation so you’d meet with him when he got back.
Time passed and your fingers typed quickly on your keyboard, letting everything that was piled up flow out as you tried to work it into the plot of your story. It seemed to work, you wrote chapters out of order but always saved the climactic scenes for the end. Lightbulbs kept going off in your head, you could barely keep up with everything you were writing.
“Let me see that,” the laptop was ripped out of your hands and Ryan stood above you, looking at what you were writing, “what is this?”
“Give it back,” you stood and took the laptop back, making sure everything was saved before closing it. You looked around to see no one was rehearsing anymore, “are you guys done?”
“Were we really that boring?” Ryan crossed his arms in front of his chest, you couldn’t figure out if he was being sarcastic or not.
“No,” you laughed it off, “I was just really into my book.”
“Sure,” he nodded, “so…who’s coming from your family tonight?”
“Just friends, my roommate and some people…” you shrugged, not knowing what to call Bucky in this situation.
“You mean the friend who’s rude to you and the guy who’s grooming you?” he was not sarcastic.
Your eyebrows pulled together as you recoiled from his bluntness, “Ryan,” you gritted our, “he’s not grooming me and my roommate is my closest friend, she’s my everything.”
“Come on,” he laughed, “you can’t be serious, right?” he looked around, checking over his shoulder before looking back down to you, “they’re all your friends because they feel bad, don’t you see that?” you gave him a confused look, “what’s something all your friends have that you don't?”
“I don’t know…?” you felt yourself shrinking, wishing Bucky was here.
“They have a steady income,” his head dropped to the side like you should have known the answer, “they have steady jobs and no money or food insecurity. You on the other hand are now working two jobs for money and are dreaming of a business you will probably never succeed in, alright?” His hand reached out and touched your shoulder, coldness radiated from the area, “I’m your everything, I’m the only one who’s real with you and actually cares, you see?”
“Y-yeah,” you nodded, your hand running up and down your forearm, after thinking for a moment you became more sure, “yeah, I get it.”
“Good,” he leaned back and smiled, “you can hang with me after the show, I wouldn't want you to uninvite them all of a sudden, just find me after the show and we’ll figure it out.” His voice was so calm as he spoke, eyes full in sincerity; it actually seemed like he cared.
Your mind was blank as you tried to forget what he was saying, though part of you thought he was being truthful the other half didn’t like how rude he was. Your mind faded to when Bucky said he was ‘buttering you up’ which didn’t make sense back then but you were starting to figure it out now; you had never dealt with abuse before and you didn’t know how it really started.
Bucky might be right.
All the cast and crew members sat around the stage as well as change rooms to talk and get ready for the performance. You knew most cast members were getting a little hasty recently because the show hadn’t been picked up and they wanted to get paid a little more for their efforts. It wasn’t greedy of them to want more money, they were severely underpaid but knew that’s how it would be in the beginning. The issue is that no one knows how long they’ll have to wait before getting a larger paycheck.
Paychecks for cast were a lot different than crew, you had seen a raise in your pay but it wasn’t where you wanted it to be. Sam, the old Master of Props, was paid a lot more than you when he worked here. Maybe over time it would add up and seem like a lot but you needed most of that money now, you didn’t have time to save and invest.
You sat alone in the prop room, painting the small things that were chipped during rehearsal. As you wokred with your headphones in you didn’t see the missed calls that were racking up on your phone, for some reason they weren’t going through. But after a song you didn’t like turned on you frantically called Natasha.
“Hey-”
“What the fuck is wrong with you!” she screamed, your head jerked away from the phone.
“What are you talking about?”
“Don’t play dumb,” you had never heard her this angry, “you called Bucky and told him not to come, you crushed his fucking heart, Y/N!”
“I didn’t do that,” you quickly ran outside through the back door, thinking you were running to your car but it was still gett fixed though it was almost done, “it must have been Ryan, I’m not kidding, he said all these things to me today and then he must have called, holy shit…” tears began to well in your eyes, “I’m not kidding, I really like Bucky, he poured his soul out to me a couple days ago- you know I’m not the person to do that,” as you stood in the alleyway your hands quickly moved to brush away your tears.
“What did Ryan say?” her anger seemed to shift focus.
“He said none of you guys actually cared about me,” it came out a choked sob, “he said you all faked it because you felt bad I don’t have a real job like you guys, he said I should trust him and only really hang out with him because he’s the only one that cares for me.” your hand gripped your throat, trying to scratch out the lump, “I know he’s wrong but he just knows what to say, he knows how to get in my head,” you cried as you slumped down the wall, wanting to curl on your side.
Natasha stayed silent for a while as you sobbed apologies into your phone, trying to get her to say something. She was muttering to herself, a few curses, and groans. You didn’t know where she was but when you heard the sound of keys jingling you perked up. “Hold on, I’m coming to get you,” it was quick but you couldn’t ask why because of how fast she hung up.
A hand gripped your mouth, making sure Ryan wouldn't hear you and get in your head again. The sound of your heartbeat thumped in your ears, your eyes squeezed shut. Two scenes were eliminated as you waited, trying not to be heard or seen. When you felt two hands grab you, a scream ripped from your lungs, you hit your head against a brick wall you were leaning against. What you saw was not what you expected.
Bucky, with Natasha behind him.
He looked like a mess, his eyes were bloodshot and his face was a little sunken on. A bit of muscle has dissolved as well, most likely from not eating as much as he should. But when you realized it was him you leaped for him like he did to you in the parking lot, wrapping your arms tightly and never letting go.
“I didn’t say those things,” you rasped out, “I promise.”
“I believe you,” his lips moved against your ear, “I know exactly how you feel, trust me, I know what he’s doing.”
“I’m so sorry,” you sobbed, trying to get so close you wanted to crawl in his skin.
“We’re going to get you out of here,” his hand pushed up your back and in a soothing way, “no show tonight for you, you need to get out of here.”
“Okay,” you cried, turning your head towards his neck so your nose pressed right up against his skin.
“I don’t think that’s gonna work,” a new voice called from the door, you pulled away to see Ryan standing there with a curious look, “so this is the groomer?”
“Ryan!” you screamed, trying to push Bucky behind you but he got to it first.
“Let me cut to the fucking chase,” Bucky sized up the lanky theater boy, “you stay away from her, you hear me?” his head dipped as he checked Ryan out in a threatening way, “you’re fucking toxic and you know exactly what you’re doing.”
“Really?” he asked, “I’m just saying what we are all thinking here.”
“Really?” Bucky mocked, “because what I’m thinking is that you’re a fucking asshole who is trying to suck the life out my girl,” he growled, “I’m thinking that you’re creating then  praying on insecurities and trying to suck her into your little world, I know exactly what you’re doing-”
Ryan pulled his fist back but Bucky was too quick for him, ducking and punching Ryan in the stomach. You screamed out for Bucky, trying to get him to stop because you knew how much trouble you’d get into.
“You wanna know how I know, huh, you wanna fucking know!” Bucky screamed from over top of Ryan, “because I had a girlfriend-a fucking wife just like you- I had a terrible human being butter me up and make me feel lonely, make me feel insecure, and make me feel like she was the only person I needed,” he panted from above, “she hit me, threw things, tried to fucking kill me once- but that doesn’t matter, you wanna know why?” when Ryan didn’t say anything Bucky screamed again, “I asked a fucking question!”
“W-why?” Ryan was shaking, you had never seen him like this before.
“I’ll tell you why,” Bucky kneeled, “Y/N over there doesn’t deserve your bullshit, she doesn’t deserve part of her life wasted only to leave her traumatized.” he gripped Ryan’s chin, watching as he squirmed to get away, “does this make you uncomfortable?” his mocking tone dripped from his mouth, “good.” he flicked his hand off and stood up, turning to you and seeing you stand in Natasha’s hug.
Ryan took the chance to run inside, slamming the door behind him. When you saw Bucky standing there, fists clenched and labored breaths you saw something else. He was hurting, tears gathered in his eyes as he looked at you, something was happening in his head.
“A-” the words got caught on his tongue, “are you scared of me now?”
“Oh god,” you sighed and ran to him, pulling him down into a hug, “I’d never be scared, never, don’t ever think that.” his face wasn’t deep in your neck like yours was, he was looking forward. When you pulled away you saw Natasha staring at Bucky, a look was shared between the two of them that you didn’t know the reason behind.
“Let me take you to my apartment,” Bucky whispered, “I have to show you something.”
“It’s okay,” you sniffled and pulled away, brushing your fingers through his hair, “let's go to my place-”
“I have to,” his voice shook, “I have to.”
Natasha drove in Steve’s car, she didn’t have a license but you didn’t care at that point. You and Bucky sat in the back seat, arms wrapped around each other as you both silently cried. He’d pet your hair and kiss your head, whispering things to you. Your fingers found their way to his beard and began playing with it, liking the way it sounded against your nails. There were a few gray patches that were coming in, making sure he knew you loved them. You left a kiss there.
It was the most intimate you had been with him, kissing his stubble. It seemed he noticed it too, looking down at you and kissing your forehead but leaving his lips pressed to your skin for a while, letting you soak in his love. Both of you worked to clear each other’s tears, trying to swipe them away and soon enough you were able to stop the tears.
The windows were down and the spring, turning summer, air whipped across your face, drying out the tears on your cheeks. When Bucky felt you shiver he pulled you closer, after a few shivers in a row he kept you squeezed and let his cheek rest on the top of your head. His thumb never stopped gently rubbing your arm, it was a very simple action but even the smallest thing he did made you melt into him more.
After driving straight for a while Natasha turned right and into an apartment complex, it was a little outside the city so there was more greenery and space around. Through the window you were facing you saw people standing on balconies using their barbeque or sitting on furniture having a drink with their friends.
Natasha pulled into a driveway and turned off the car, letting all three of you sit in silence for a couple minutes. Bucky slowly moved and Natasha turned around, “Here you are,” Natasha whispered, “I believe in you, Buck.” then her eyes moved down to you, “I love you, Y/N, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.” with a small smile you nodded and got out of the car.
“Thank you,” he smiled for a second before helping you get out.
His complex was smaller than yours, there were balconies for every apartment which took up a lot of space on the outside of the building. The windows were large, most likely letting in lots of natural light. It was a red colour brick that held together three stories of apartments, parking lots were everywhere and entrance points.
“Okay,” he whispered after walking up to the door that was next to his convertible, “remember when we first met and you saw that little girl with the giraffe on my phone?” You nodded, instinctively taking his hand into yours, “that’s not my niece…” he smiled as tears gathered in his eyes, “her name is Rebecca, I call her Becca, she’s named after my sister who moved to Europe and she’s…” he swallowed heavily, “she’s my daughter.”
His face cringed as he waited for your response, “how old is she?” you asked softly.
“Sh-she’s five,” his eyes lit up, realizing you weren’t going to leave, “just celebrated so…she’s got some new toys and stuff.”
“Would you like me to meet her?” you asked, reaching up and cupping his cheek, “you can tell her I’m a really good friend.”
“I’ve talked about you before,” he laughed it off, “you are a really good friend from work,” the smile grew, “she’s wanted to meet you for a while.”
“Can I ask a question?” you stepped forward, placing both hands on his chest, “does she know her mother?”
Bucky shook his head, “she left pretty soon after she was born.”
“And-...” your hand came to cover your trembling lip, “did the mother really try to kill you?”
“I have a really nasty scar on my left shoulder,” was all he said before taking you up the stairs.
You walked behind him on the single-file staircase, you could see he was biting his nails and the calluses on his palm. It was painfully obvious Natasha had driven to Bucky’s apartment and then to the theatre, he was dressed in plaid pyjama pants and a solid army green shirt. His hair was a little ruffled, he didn’t have time to pull it back or curl it behind his ear when Natasha probably broke into his house.
His apartment was in the middle of the hallway, his hands shook as he tried to get the key into the lock. “Here,” you whispered and gently placed your hand over his, guiding it into the lock and turning it for him. Before the door could completely open Bucky took a deep breath and rolled his shoulders back, putting a smile on his face.
“Daddy!” a little voice screamed, bare feet slapped against the tile as a little girl ran to Bucky, jumping into his arms because he crouched down.
“Hey, princess,” Bucky whispered and held his daughter’s head into his chest, “I told you I’d be back by the time the movie was done.” Bucky stood up and kept Becca on his hip, “let me introduce you to my friend.”
You leaned forward, “hi,” you tickled her chin which made her squeal. Becca became shy and tried to hide in Bucky’s chest, you just laughed and scratched her back, making her peek her head out to see you.
“Are you daddy’s friend?” she whispered.
“Yes I am,” your hand rubbed her back for a bit.
Bucky walked into his apartment and you followed, taking a seat at a bar stool after Bucky placed her down in front of the TV with her toys. When he came back over to you his arms pulled you into a hug, you rubbed his back and let him take a deep breath.
“Excuse me, Ms.?” the little voice piped up, you leaned out of the hug to see Becca holding two dolls, “do you wanna play?”
“Of course,” you smiled and rubbed Bucky’s back one more time before walking over to her play area, “and just call me Y/N,” you squished her cheeks, “can I call you Becca?”
“Yes please,” she smiled and jumped from a sitting position, handing you a doll. She didn’t give any context for what the story was about but you played along, making sound effects and changing your voice for dialogue.
“So,” you whispered, “what’s the story?”
Becca’s face lit up, “okay, so here’s me,” she held up a doll with blue eyes and curly dark hair who actually looked like her, “and you take her because she looks like you,” Becca passed you another doll from her container.
“Thank you,” you smiled and changed how you were sitting from resting on your calves to crossed legged, knowing you were going to be here for while.
“This is my pet Sparky,” she held up an orange cat toy that was proportionate to the doll, it did look like they didn’t come together in one set. Becca’s chest was filled with random figurines and dolls, there was another box beside her with lego in it; some sets were built and others were definitely her own creation.
“Hello Sparky,” you took your doll and made it wave their hand, make Becca burst out in happy laughter, excited that you were actually playing.
Becca’s ideas were cut off with anecdotes, she’d look at a toy and think of something else to tell you. It was obvious she told Bucky about what she was playing, her eyes either looking at the dolls as she petted their hair back or looking at Bucky who was making something in the kitchen. Becca went at lightning pace as she introduced you to every single toy she owned, you did the same thing everytime; waving your doll’s hand which made Becca extremely happy.
The small area in front of you was now filled with toys that were taken out of the now empty bins, Bucky looked over and asked Becca to clean them up when she was done but Becca nodded with a smile, “I always clean up,” she said to you.
“That’s good,” you nodded with a wide smile, the more you looked at her the more you saw Bucky in the features of her face, her eyes and the colour of her hair. Their smiles were the same, when she’d giggle you looked over at Bucky to see him smiling the same way.
When Becca was too busy finding another toy to re-introduce to you, you looked over your shoulder to see Bucky standing with his arms crossed and leaning up against the counter, the proudest look on her face as he watched Becca, he didn’t even notice you were looking at him; all his attention was on his beautiful daughter.
With a loud gasp Becca stood up and got everyone’s attention, “daddy?” she asked.
“Yes, princess?”
“Can…” Becca got shy again, wrapping her skirt around her fingers, “can I show Y/N Mr. Fuzzy Bear?”
Bucky nodded but did so very slowly, “you wanna show her Mr. Fuzzy Bear?” it looked as though he was in disbelief.
“Yes please,” she jumped a few times, taking off and running down the short hallway and into her room.
When you looked at Bucky his mouth was slightly open, after whispering his name he looked at you, “her favourite bear, I’m only allowed to touch him when I have permission, he sits on the toilet when she takes a bath, it can’t leave her room…” he shook his head and leaned forward to try and see her in her room, “Becca, baby?” he called but got no response, “she’s probably nervous,” he whispered to you and walked over to her room, knocking on the door before walking in, “what’s going on, hunny?” his voice grew sympathetic immediately.
Only now did you hear her crying.
Without trying to be nosy you tried to tune out the hushed noises coming from the pink room. Your hands made work on organizing her toys, trying to place all the same kind of dolls together in the bucket, you collected the dresses and other clothes the dolls could wear and laid them flat in the box while also putting in random things that didn’t really fit. You noticed there were rectangular imprints on the carpet in the corner, somewhat hiding behind the TV. you pushed both boxes over and then sat up, not knowing what to do now.
Very cautiously you walked over to her room, hearing little sniffles and Bucky’s gentle words drifting out of the small crack left from the door that was left ajar. Her door had a few drawings on it and her name on a little sign.
“Mrs. Becca,” you said as softly as you possible can, “would you like to see how I put away all your toys, I want to make sure I did it right.” you waited and heard a gasp from Bucky.
“Do you want to go see?” his voice was very high.
“It’s okay if I did it wrong, you can teach me,” your hand laid flat again the door, slowly pushing it open and giving Becca enough time to run up and slam if shut if she so chose. When you pushed the door completely open you saw Becca sitting on the edge of her bed with a small brown bear in her arms and pushed tightly against her chest. “You have a lovely room, Becca,” you looked around, trying not to look at the bear.
“What do you say?” Bucky rubbed her back.
A muffled, “thank you,” came from Becca as she shoved her face in the bear’s head.
“Bucky,” you smiled at him, “can I talk to you outside for a sec?”
“Yeah,” Bucky stood and pressed a kiss to Becca’s head. He could tell what was coming and after shutting the door softly he rubbed your arm, “sorry about that,” his voice was barely a whisper to make sure Becca didn’t hear, “she’s very possessive over the bear.”
“Is that it?” you asked, “what did she say?”
Bucky walked forward and away from the door which prompted you to follow him into the living room, “she loves Nat, Steve, Sam, everyone who comes here, she has a blast when they’re over…” he paused and looked over to see her door still shut, “she told me that because I’ve talked about you before she wanted to make sure you’d like her like my other friends did and none of them have really met Mr. Fuzzy Bear,” he said the name so casually, “and she thought she had enough courage to show you because she really likes you and likes how you play with her so…yeah,” he shrugged, “bit off more than she could chew, the same thing happened last week when there was show and tell and she wanted to bring her bear.”
“She got upset?” you asked, feeling your heart twist a little.
“She’s very attached to her toys, I mean, her mind is so creative she’s got all these stories for all her toys and she remembers all of them and she makes personalities and voices for all her dolls it’s just…” Bucky shrugged and pushed the hair out of his face, “she’s very attached to Fuzzy Bear and recently she wants other people to meet him but she hasn’t learned how to do that yet, as much as I hate seeing her cry and I want her to figure out on her own that she can introduce her favourite things to other people without thinking people are going to leave or make fun of her.”
“I see,” you nodded, “I think you’ve shown her a great tip.”
“What do you mean?” he smirked.
“Becca is your Mr. Fuzzy Bear,” you laughed and Bucky shook his head, not understanding, “you didn’t want me to meet or know about Becca for a while because you didn’t want me running away, she’s your daughter so yes you’re going to be protective of her but you just learned that showing people things won’t always lead to bad stuff happening- I think your daughter is so cool, she reminds me of me.”
“I-...” Bucky stood there and looked over his shoulder, at a loss for words, “you’re right…”
You patted his shoulder and walked around Bucky heading back over to the room, the door was shut again so you knocked, “Hey, Becca.”
“Yeah?” her voice sounded a little better, not full of tears or shaky.
“What colour is Mr. Fuzzy Bear?”
“He’s got light brown fur that’s very short but very soft,” you could hear the tiniest smile.
“Becca has anyone told you how smart you are?” you paused and she didn’t respond, “you’re in kindergarten and you’re saying all these descriptive words, do you know what they’re called?”
“...” the door slightly opened, “what is it called?” her head poked out.
You crouched down, “my job is writing stories, in order to tell people what things look like I use adjectives,” you paused and watched her figure the word out, repeating it back to you, “so brown, soft, short hair, those are all…”
“Addictives!” she cheered, you nodded even though she got it wrong. “You make stories for work like daddy fixes cars?” Her eyes widened.
“I do,” you bite your bottom lip to match what she was doing, trying to hold in excitement, “I make ideas in my head and I write them out, just like you make stories in your head and act them out, isn’t it fun?”
“It’s my favourite,” she said right away, “Mr. Fuzzy Bear has been my friend for a long time, he gives really good hugs and likes to watch me play with my toys. I normally tell him and daddy all my stories for my dolls.”
“Very cool,” your hand reached out and rubbed her chubby cheek, “can I tell you something?” you looked over your shoulder to see Bucky smiling proudly again, you leaned in and acted like you were telling a secret. “It’s okay if you don’t want me to meet Mr. Fuzzy Bear, I’m not mad, I love your other dolls and toys too, I’m not going to be upset.” when you pulled away Becca was staring at you.
“Really?” her hands went back to her skirt, “you won’t get mad?”
“Not at all,” your hand twisted a curl around a finger, “can I stay for dinner though?”
“Daddy?” Becca yelled, “can Y/N stay for dinner?”
“Of course she can,” Bucky nodded and opened his arms wide, letting Becca sprint up to him and jump in his arms, “she can stay for as long as you’d like.”

Rules: List 8 tv shows for your followers to get to know you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. A selection of movies I rewatched so many times I wore out the VHS tapes. The Terminator 1984 (when T2 came Linda Hamilton blew me away), Platoon 1986, Aliens 1986 & Die Hard 1988. It's a lot of bonding strangers to survive, h/c, antiheroes or plain charismatic bad guys, hypothermia or fever, there was only one bed and bantering. The original wet rat blorbos. Also if it's not bloody obvious I had such crushes on Bruce Willis ,Tom Berenger and Michael Biehn, I watched so many bad 80s-90s movies because of them.
2. Wait a minute, TV shows, not MOVIES. My bad, I'm keeping nr 1 as is anyway. Hmm, I always list Hannibal or Buffy tVS/Angel tS whenever I do this so I'm gonna try to list something else that's major loves. So, Miami Vice 1984-1989. Baby me had such a crush on Don Johnson you could see it from space. Adult me gets it, bought the box & rewatches it from time to time, incl writing fic but never anything going somewhere.
Tumblr media
3. The Expanse. It's probably a very obvious choice if you ever looked around my corner of Tumblr but I want more people to post about it so. Amos (my favorite pansexual murderbear), Holden (who gave me the Captaincy? Holy shit. How can I fix everything while also being stubborn and chaotic) Naomi (I live with my choices every day but I've got a new life here to do something with & I'll defend it with everything). OT3. Sometimes I want something of poly where Naomi & Drummer (dragon in the shape of a woman, a hoarding underdog with so much fight in her belly) gets to be happy too. But that's just to name a few, it's not often I'm so very invested in so many characters in a show but they all have arcs and space to exist. Unfortunately one of the mains isn't clicking with me at all so the first season took me a while to find all the gold.
Tumblr media
4. 9-1-1; besides the love I have for the firefam I'm completely sucked into the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one. And the sunshine one is a golden retriever who's loyal to a fault and just needs food and love. While the grumpy one finds that letting the sunshine in makes life a helluva lot easier even if both of them almost dies a lot.
Tumblr media
5. Hawaii 5-0. Talking about grumpy and sunshine. These two fit the bill too, they just can't decide who's who depending on the day and the drama. Danny's usually the negative one always predicting chaos. But Steve tends to be tortured or have shitty family secrets so his sunshine isn't that shiny all the time. But they're brilliant at bickering about everything which kinda gets them even. Instead they're great at hugs and saying I love you. I despise several plotlines but I can't quit them (I couldn't find a gif that includes Danny saying "Stop looking at me like that" in this scene but alas)
Tumblr media
6. Stargate Atlantis, my first team turned into family, and my one and only OT4. McShep was my biggest fave, but i enjoyed team!fic just as much as OT4 fic. Reluctant leader with slinky hips and no self-preservation, paired with a smartass with a big mouth who always came through, a smarter woman who didn't get to kick people in the balls enough and stoic warrior who actually was the puzzle piece missing and more than meets the eye. They're a comfort fandom.
Tumblr media
7. Due South. A weird cute soft series I didn't know had a fandom until after it was finished in early 2000s. And then I fell into fic (I never got to see the Ray wars up close luckily) and read so much by Speranza among many more. I've rewatched it a few times, esp if I'm home sick it's a comfort show.
Tumblr media
I ran out of allowed gifs😭. Well, fuck.
8. Criminal Minds. I've rewatched this show many times because it's something about catching the bad guys and solving the case all neatly tied up. Another show I love but is even sadder and more horrible is Oz because happy ends doesn't exist because humanity is rotten and we pay for our choices. But it's so good I sometimes wanna rewatch it, I bought the DVD box. But then I remember how much I cried at certain eps, like the brothers and I don't. But sometimes it's good to cry over fictional characters.

Mr. Thunderman, Your Son is a Rocket Scientist, Part III
-O-
Hello! The last time I posted anything for this little fic of mine was... 27/7/2020 I guess! Today is 12/6/2022! Yeesh a nearly two year absence...
Well, I'm back now so... Yay? Yeah yay!
I hope you guys like this, my writing style changed quite a bit since 2020 and I scraped off the entire idea for the old Part III! Hopefully this has more substance so I can start working in the fourth and final part!
Now, I'll leave you with the fic!

Original Snippet - Part I - Part II - Part III (Draft) - Part IV
---
"Nora, honey, would you go check in on Max?"
Nora looked up from her doll in order to meet her mother's eyes as the woman called for her attention. Normally, Barb never bothers to ask her youngest daughter to help with anything (other than the standard chores of course) and thus, the 8-year-old girl was slightly perplexed.
Nora wrinkled her nose as she processed her mother's orders, obviously not wanting to do it, and decided to settle for the easiest thing she could do.
Complain.
"Why me?" Nora whined in exasperation.
Her mom rolled her eyes at the (typical) reply, "Because," Barb started pointedly. "Phoebe is helping me out with dinner and I'm, obviously, too busy making dinner."
Nora scowled. "Can't you ask Billy to do it then?"
Barb sighed loudly as Phoebe mumbled something from her place next to the stove.
Barb shot her eldest a pointed look (as the girl sighed dramatically and turned her attention to the stove) before directing all her attention to Nora. "Sweetie, we all know that Billy lacks…. Tact."
"But-!"
Barb straightened up sharply and gave her youngest daughter 'The Look™'. "No buts!" Barb cut in. "Besides," The woman sighed tiredly. "Your dad decided it was a good idea to take Billy for some 'last-minute’ shopping at the Chocolate Festival in Belgium. I doubt they'll be back any time soo-"
Suddenly, wind-whipped by Barb's face, upturning her perfectly styled hair as the older woman blinked in surprise. Nora had to stifle a laugh as Billy perched himself next to her looking both hyper and aware at the same time.
"We're back!" Her dad's exhausted voice trailed from the living room.
Barb blinked before she sighed in exasperation. Nora groaned as her mom shooed her and Billy out of the kitchen and into the living room, where their dad was already sprawled on the couch.
"Billy, put those away in the fridge." Hank said, handing Billy two big paper bags. "And don't use your super speed! We don't want your mom to kill us."
Billy smiled at him bouncing slightly. "Will do!" He said as he ran (normally) to the kitchen.
Nora sighed loudly as she distantly heard her mom tell Billy to 'go and sleep off this sugar rush'. Great. Now she had to go and check up on Max herself.
"This stinks.” The young girl muttered, as she started heading towards Max’s room.
"Hm? What's wrong sweetie?" Her dad asked, straightening up a bit so he could look at her properly.
Nora frowned. "Nothing." She sighed. "I'm just going to check on Max."
"Okay." Hank shrugged a little dismissively. "Yell for me if anything's wrong."
"Will do." Nora replied as she opened the door to the basement a little forcefully.
Walking down the stairs, Nora noticed two things. 1) Max's lair was too quiet. 2) It was dark.
'Weird.' The 8 year-old thought. 'Max hates working in the dark.'
Nora paused for a moment. If Max's lair was dark did that mean… was Max finally done with his project?
Well, only one to find out.
Nora carefully stepped into the lair, noting how dim the blue LED lights were. Normally, Max had those obnoxious things on 'full luminance' or something. Right now they were barely making any light, a stark contrast to how they normally are.
Luckily, there was just enough light for her to see where she was stepping and where Max's work tables were. There was also enough light for her to clearly see a human-shaped lump on her brother's bed.
Nora frowned a little worriedly. Max almost never sleeps deeply. If anything he mostly functioned on power naps and barely 4 hours of sleep almost everyday. Or so she heard her mother say whenever she scolded her eldest brother for not taking care of himself.
The 8-year-old slowly approached her brother's bed and leaned in to get a closer look at his face. Max's mouth was a little bit open and, if she concentrated hard enough, she could hear him breathe softly through his mouth. She slowly waved her hand in front of his face.
No reaction.
Okay, now she was getting worried. Max was the type of person to wake up if people so much as breathed a little loudly next to him and here she was, standing next to his bed and practically leaning over him. Her presence alone should have woken him up.
'Should I just call for dad?' Nora wondered.
"Hey. Girlie."
Nora jumped in her place at the sudden sound and spun around.
Dr. Colosso was watching her from his cage, his beady little eyes looking directly at her as she hovered next to her brother's bed uncertainly.
"You scared me." Nora hissed a little harshly.
Dr. Colosso snorted. "You were looking a little worried there." He whispered. "I was doing you a favor."
Nora raised an eyebrow. "You're a supervillain. Villains don't do favors."
"Well, look at you being a smart munchkin."
Nora wrinkled her nose. "Shut up." She looked back at her brother. "Is he okay?"
Dr. Colosso didn't respond.
Nora fidgeted in her place. "Uhh, Dr. Colosso?"
"What? You told me to shut up."
"Dr. Colosso!"
"Fine fine, yeesh. Kids these day." The bunny adjusted himself a little in his cage. "Yeah, yeah, the kid's fine don't worry too much."
Nora frowned. "But-"
"He overworked himself a little these past few days, that's why he's out like a light. He'll be back up and running after a little snooze time, so don't worry that little head of yours."
Nora relaxed a bit. "Okay then." She approached Dr. Colosso's cage. "So, what was he making?"
Dr. Colosso's mouth did that weird thing it does whenever he smiles. "It's a surprise."
Nora felt her lips curl into a pout. Now she wanted to know even more!
"Well, can you give me a hint?"
"Personally, I think it's a bit less impressive than what he normally creates, but the simpletons at NASA? They'll lose their absolute minds."
"That's not a hint Dr. Colosso!"
"Well, that's all I have for ya so why don't'cha beat it, huh?"
Nora huffed. "Whatever." She muttered, as she left the room.
Opening the basement door, Nora was met by her parents and sister in the living room. Her mom was fidgeting a little in the middle of the room while her dad looked concerned. Phoebe was just on her phone.
Her mom stopped moving the moment she saw her. "Nora!" Barb exclaimed. "What took you so long? You've been down there for fifteen minutes!"
Nora blinked. "Really?"
"Yeah." Hank sat up even straighter. "Did something happen?"
Barb leaned a bit towards her daughter. "Yeah, is your brother okay? Do we need to get down there and check on him? Do we call an ambu-"
"Mom you're overreacting." Phoebe huffed, not looking up from her phone. "If something was wrong Nora would've started screaming, like, 10 minutes ago or something."
Barb didn't seem too convinced. "Well, how is Max, Nora?"
Nora blinked. "Oh. He's asleep."
"Oooh." Hank nodded. "Well, is he coming up for dinner? Your mom made a casserole.
Nora shook her head. "I doubt it. He didn't wake up when I stood next to him and waved my hand in his face."
That gave everyone a pause. Even Phoebe had her fingers hovering over the keyboard of her phone, almost as if she'd frozen.
"Wait, you mean Max is asleep? Like actually asleep? Like, deep deep asleep?" Hank asked, already halfway off the couch.
Nora nodded. "Yeah. Dr. Colosso said he overworked himself a bit and that's why he's sleeping super deeply."
Barb frowned. "I see." She exchanged a look with Hank. "Well, you kids go wait at the dinner table. Your dad and I will check in on Max and come join you in a little bit "
Nora agreed quietly as she followed Phoebe to the kitchen. She wasn't surprised her mom and dad were worried. Max has never (to her knowledge) slept so deeply before. Even when he does, he's almost never still. He keeps on twisting and turning on the bed. That's how they found him on the floor the couple of times he slept on the couch of the living room.
She really hoped Max is okay.
(10 minutes later her mom and dad joined them. Nothing was terribly wrong, at least according to the various first aid scanners they have in their house. Max was just a little too tired, they told her.
Nora was glad he was okay. She would hate not having anyone to talk to whenever Billy wasn't available.)

i wish you would write a fic where... bellamy is a serious dater and clarke is only into random hookups when they meet, like he's a romantic and she's basically a stereotypical frat boy
AO3!
"You know what the problem is with casual sex?" Clarke asks, flopping down on the couch next to Bellamy with a sigh.
"Having to google people from the bathroom at the bar before you take them home to make sure they won't murder you?" he offers without hesitation. "Hell, having to find people at bars to hook up with?"
"You pick up people at bars too," she points out. When they first started living together, Clarke had thought their wildly divergent takes on relationships might be a source of friction. She doesn't care what other people do in their personal lives, but people who are really into dating and monogamy can get pretty judgey about people who favor casual sex, and Bellamy gave off pretty generally judgmental vibes.
Luckily, it turned out he didn't have anything against sleeping around, he'd just gotten it out of his system in college, when Clarke was convinced she was going to marry first Finn and then Lexa. Once both those relationships blew up in her face, she figured she might as well take a step back from trying to find a long-term relationship and just have fun.
Five years later, she's still having fun. At least, most of the time.
"Yeah, but not as often, if I'm lucky. Besides," he adds, with a teasing grin, "I figured if I said lack of emotional connection and empty orgasms, you'd get mad at me."
"No, that's closer," she admits, ignoring his teasing for the moment. "Not the emptiness, but the orgasms. Or lack thereof."
He snorts. "I told you that guy looked like a douchebag."
"I wish everyone who looked like a douchebag was bad in bed, but you really can't tell. Sometimes they're smug because they're really, really good. Like you, I hope."
"Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt."
"Any time you want to prove it, feel free."
He shakes his head, still smiling. She can never tell if he thinks she's joking or not, but all he ever has to do is ask. Bellamy's hot, and she would absolutely fuck him in about half a second, if he wanted to. "I don't want to ruin you for other men. That would really reduce your dating pool."
"Very considerate of you."
"You could try fucking someone other more than once, then you could have good sex regularly."
"I still get plenty of good sex regularly. And a relationship isn't a guarantee of good sex."
"No, but at least you can have a conversation about it. Or you should be able to. I know the last time you dated someone long-term was college, but when you're an adult, you can just tell your partners that they're bad at oral."
"Really?" she asks, unable to keep a dubious note out of her voice. "How's that gone for you?"
"Okay, you don't say exactly that. But I've dated some people who don't give head how I like, and they've taken feedback. And then they get better. With just one night, you don't see a lot of improvement, even if you bring it up."
"I don't know if anyone takes you've never given a girl an orgasm well, as feedback."
"Yeah, I've never tried that one."
"Weird."
"Sorry the douche didn't get you off. And sorry I'm better at judging whether or not guys are good at sex on sight than you are."
She snorts. "I don't think we can say that."
He shrugs. "I'm just saying, I took one look at that guy and knew he was going to suck in bed."
"Yeah, brag about it." She lets out a long sigh. "You sure you don't want to fuck me?"
"Not tonight, sorry."
"Then I'm going to go fuck myself and go to bed."
It's the kind of thing that should be weird, but Bellamy just gestures over his shoulder, half wave and half salute. "Enjoy."
If she's thinking about him and not any of the attractive strangers she's fucked lately when she gets herself off, that's her business. No one else has to know.
*
"I wouldn't fuck that guy," Bellamy says, three weeks later, while the guy Clarke has been flirting with is in the bathroom.
"I don't think he'd fuck you either, he seems straight."
He ignores her. "I bet you five bucks he doesn't make you come if you go home with him."
"Huh." She thinks it over. "I don't know if I'm going home with him yet. And that's a shitty deal for me."
"How so?"
"Not only do I not get off, but I lose five bucks?"
He snorts. "Sorry, did you want to put your money on your date being bad in bed? I figured you were betting on them by default."
It's a valid point. "Fine, if I go home with him and he doesn't get me off, I'll give you five bucks."
He offers his hand and the two of them shake on it, and by the time the guy gets back, Bellamy's melted into the crowd. It's something he learned to do early in their friendship, and Clarke's grateful; even the densest potential hookups manage to pick up on how much more she likes her roommate than them.
She lets the guy take her home, and she gets a cab back from his place after. Bellamy's on the couch playing video games, as he always is. The first few times, he made excuses, but once they got to know each other better, he admitted it was a nervous thing. He grew up taking care of his baby sister, and he couldn't ever sleep while she was out. He has to wait until everyone is home and the door is bolted before he can go to sleep, so Clarke never stays out too late.
She hands him a five dollar bill without a word, and he puts his arm around her and gives her a squeeze. "Sorry I was right."
"If you were really sorry, you'd five me back the five bucks."
He smirks and pockets the money. "Guess I'm not really that sorry."
*
"What about him?" Clarke asks, pointing to a guy with dirty blonde hair and a nice smile. Bellamy has won three bets in a row, so she's pretty sure she has some kind of gift.
"I'm starting to think you just have really shitty taste in guys," he says, cocking his head. "That guy?"
"I'm not going to marry him."
"You're also not going to get off with him."
Raven looks between the two of them with raised eyebrows. "Did I miss something?"
"Bellamy's got an eye," says Clarke.
"I've got two eyes," he says. "I'm getting another round, you two want one?"
They both agree, and Raven fixes Clarke with a hard look once he's gone. "Are you guys getting weirder?"
"Probably."
"You should just fuck him."
"I keep trying, but he keeps saying no."
"Okay, yeah, you should tell him you want to marry him."
"If he won't fuck me, why would he marry me?"
Raven groans. "You're going to give me gray hair. What's he got an eye for?"
"Guys who can give me an orgasm."
Her head hits the booth with a light thunk. "Seriously, Clarke."
"He's good at it! I don't want to waste my time."
"You say that, but you've been in love with your roommate for like six months and haven't done anything about it."
Clarke feels her entire body stiffen, her blood running cold and then hot. "I'm not in love with him."
"No?"
"No."
Raven regards her with her too-shrewd eyes.  "I know the Finn thing did a number on you. On both of us. And the Lexa thing right after…" She sighs. "I'm not saying I don't get it. But you've got yourself convinced that because he won't sleep with you, he doesn't want you, and it's fucking stupid. How many times does he have to tell you he's done with casual sex before you figure out what you need to ask is if he wants to date you, not if he wants to sleep with you?"
Clarke opens and closes her mouth. "We live together," she finally says.
"A lot of people who are dating do, yeah."
Bellamy comes back with drinks before Clarke has to say anything to that, and after that she spots a girl with a nose ring and a pan flag pin on her bag ordering a drink at the bar, so that's her evening sorted out.
No need to think more about Bellamy at all.
*
Clarke isn't opposed to being in love, not really. She still thinks she wants to be, someday, but it's a vague, unformed someday, the same way it always has been. She's not even thirty yet, she doesn't need to settle down. Bellamy is allowed to be ready for that, but that doesn't mean he wants to do it with her. He's never given any indication he did.
But he's been single for a while now, and he's not exactly wanting for interested partners. Maybe no one's been appealing, but maybe Raven's right, and if she asked him, he'd say yes.
Just the thought of it fills her head with cotton and static, turns her stomach to butterflies and bile.
It's too much to think about, so she doesn't.
*
Clarke's feelings on marriage aren't universal, nor does she expect them to be. But it's still a little weird that people she knows, people her age, not only want to get married but are getting married. No matter how often she asks Monty how he knew he was ready, he hasn't come up with an answer that really makes sense to her. He just fell in love and asked Bellamy's friend Miller to marry him, and Clarke is grateful for it, because Bellamy needed a roommate and that's how she met him.
Still, Monty and Miller's actual wedding is a lot to process. It's not the first wedding she's gone to of a peer, but the others have been acquaintances, not friends. This feels like the start of a new era in her life, the one with spouses and kids and mortgages, and it's no wonder that Clarke decides she needs to get very drunk. Especially since Bellamy is the best man, so not only is he looking stupidly hot in his tuxedo, but he seems to be everywhere, organizing everything, and Clarke's always been kind of into competence. Even if she misses having him to hang out with.
He finally finds her during the reception, sinking into Harper's empty seat with an audible sigh of relief. "Holy fuck, weddings are a pain."
She doesn't want to perk up when she sees him, but it's inevitable. "Hi!"
He squints at her, then he grins. "Open bar, huh?"
"You're behind," she says, sliding her drink to him. "I know you don't want to think about what this means either."
He accepts the glass and takes a long swig. "What what means, exactly?"
"Our friends are getting married."
"God forbid I think about our friends being happy, yeah."
"You want to get married," she says, trying not to make it sound like an accusation and not really succeeding.
He smiles. "In general, yeah. Is that a problem now?"
"It's just weird. It's going to happen more and more. Your sister's going to do it, and Raven, and…I need another drink."
"Wait until I finish this one," he says. "I finally get to hang out with you, don't just leave."
It's hard to argue with that. "You did a good job. Very best manly."
"Thanks, that was the goal." He's watching the dance floor. "As long as all the weddings are like this, I'll be happy."
"What do you mean?"
He takes another long drink. "The first wedding I ever went to was my mom's. When she married my sister's dad. I was five and I already knew it wasn't going to last. They didn't even like each other that much. Maybe Miller and Monty won't last forever either, but they're starting from a good place. It's nice. I'll go to as many weddings as our friends want, as long as they look at each other like that."
"You're such a romantic," she says, all fondness, and he finishes off her drink.
"That's me. Let's get another round."
It takes two more drinks before it feels like a good idea to ask him to dance, and he doesn't say anything for a long, horrible moment that feels like a thousand years.
But then he smiles and stands. "Yeah, we can dance."
His hand is big and warm as he helps her up, and his eyes are deep and dark, impossible to look away from. It really sucks, how pretty his eyes are, because brown eyes are so common, but no one else's can compare. It used to just be that she couldn't hook up with guys with black hair, but brown eyes are out now too. Pretty soon it's just going to be all guys, period, and then probably girls with black hair and brown eyes, an endless slippery slope. It's inevitable.
They haven't even had sex, and he's still ruining other guys for him.
She slides her arms around his neck and relaxes into him, and he leans his head on her hair. It's the high-school prom kind of dancing, slowly turning in place to music, nostalgic in the best way.
"You going to fall asleep on me?" Bellamy asks, his voice a pleasant rumble against her chest.
"Probably not. But I know you'll bring me home if I do."
A faster song comes on next, and that wakes her up. Monty and Miller come over too, then some of their other friends, Raven and her new girl, Bellamy's sister and her giant boyfriend, and it becomes a real party again, everyone laughing and jumping around and drinking even more.
The night gets hazy from there, but never so hazy that she loses track of what's happening. She knows that she keeps dancing slow dances with Bellamy, and that she's looking at his mouth a lot, and that he's stuck to her side like glue. She knows the whole night feels alive with possibility, and she knows, as she follows him into the cab home, that she's going to kiss him when they get back.
She's not drunk, she's not out of control; she knows she pulls him down and kisses him in the kitchen, and she knows he kisses back. He takes control, after a second, pushing her against the door, kissing her hot and wet, open-mouthed and greedy, and she's pulling him as close as she can, greedy for it, sliding her hands under his shirt, trying to get more and more and--
"Fuck," he says, pulling back, his breathing heavy, his hair a mess. "Yeah," she agrees, trying to pull him in again, but he steps away, taking himself out of her space.
"Clarke, we can't."
"Why not?"
"We live together. It would be awkward."
"It doesn't have to be."
He smiles with half his mouth. "It would be. Sorry, I don't fuck roommates."
"But you want to."
She hates how needy it comes out, hates even more the way Bellamy's face twists, how his facade of good humor cracks, showing something ugly underneath. "Jesus, is that what you want to hear? That I want you? Fuck, Clarke, of course I want you. Every fucking time, I want you. I want to give you the best sex of your life and wake up with you and--" He cuts himself off, looking away. "And I'm drunk and I'm going to bed. Sorry," he finishes, a sort of general statement without a clear antecedent, and leaves before she's collected herself enough to say anything.
She's still against the door, so it's easy to let her head drop back, the pain of the impact barely even registering. "Fuck."
*
His door is closed when she gets up in the morning, and it's still closed once she's had her coffee and some cereal. She showers, and when she gets out, the door is still closed.
For all she knows, he's not even in there. He usually gets up before her, he might have gone somewhere to avoid her. Miller is headed for his honeymoon, but Octavia would let him come over and mope on her couch, if that's what he needs.
But he never closes his door during the day. Even when he's gone, the door is open. It's impossible not to read into that. And if she doesn't talk to him soon, she's going to crawl out of her skin.
She gives him until ten-thirty, and then she pushes the door open without bothering to knock. He's on his bed in his usual sleepwear, just a pair of flannel pajama pants, and he has a book open on his face. He looks like a cartoon character, albeit a miserable one.
He has no visible reaction to her coming in, but somehow, she's sure he's awake. If she knows him, and she's pretty sure she does, he was trying to read, but he couldn't stop thinking about how he screwed up last night, and now he's obsessing over what he could have done differently, how he could have done better.
Just like that, the knot of tension in her stomach undoes itself. She climbs into bed next to him, settling with her arms around his neck, her head on his shoulder.
"You really didn't need to apologize. I should have. I'm the one who jumped you."
"You did," he agrees. "You want to apologize?"
The book is still on his face; he's her favorite person in the world. "Not for kissing you. But I was wrong."
"About what?"
She closes her eyes, breathing him in. He didn't shower last night or this morning, and he hasn't brushed his teeth yet. He smells a little stale, if she's honest, but she's not going to let that stop her. "I thought if you didn't want to have sex with me, it meant you didn't want me at all. I figured if you were interested, you'd fuck me. But it was the other way around, right?"
"I don't fuck roommates," he says, a pointed non-answer, and Clarke's whole heart bursts.
"Okay, but do you live with girlfriends?"
He finally moves the book to look at her. "Clarke."
"What?" He doesn't actually seem to have a follow up, so she props herself up on his chest. "I stopped hooking up with guys with black hair. Then brown eyes. Glasses are out too. Every time I compare someone to you, they come up short. And I thought if we had sex, maybe you'd like it and want to do it more."
He slides his hand into her hair, gentle, his smile mostly fond and only a little exasperated. "You don't date. I'm not going to be the asshole who pressures someone into a relationship they don't want."
"I get it." Her eyes flick down to his lips. "I want it," she says, and that's all he needs. The hand in her hair tugs her down, back to him, and they're kissing again, less desperate than last night, sweet and warm and slow until she ruins it laughing against his neck.
"What?" he asks, nuzzling her temple.
"You need to brush your teeth, sorry."
He laughs too. "Wow. Romantic."
"I love you," she tells him. "And I'm going to be here when you get back. But seriously, brush your teeth, Bellamy."
His grin is the brightest she's ever seen. "Well," he says, pushing her off him gently so he can get up. "If you love me."
*
"See, that's the nice thing about a relationship," Bellamy says, kissing her hair as she curls around him. As promised, he's very, very good at orgasms, and managed to live up to her expectations for not only his dick, but his hands and his mouth too. Exceeded expectations, even.
"Cuddling after?"
"That too. But you couldn't have told a random one-night stand to brush his teeth first."
She blames the endorphins for the giggles that overtake her. "I probably would have been too drunk to notice during a one-night stand."
"Is that supposed to be an argument in your favor? Because that's not wowing me."
"It's not in my favor, I'm not really on team one-night stand anymore."
"Yeah?" he asks, his voice a little too casual. "You're really good with that?"
She kisses his shoulder. "It's not like it was a religion. I had fun. I don't want to get married tomorrow or anything. But I'm pretty excited to try being in love again. It's pretty great, so far."
He tugs her closer. "Yeah. I think we're going to like it."

Chapter 53: Drawn To Badges
It was all so strange for Ivy. The forest hadn't gotten much louder itself. Especially around her swamp. It all felt normal at first glance yet somehow she knew it wasn't. Somehow she felt like it had a wave of commotion going on. All about some event she didn't fully understand. One that had already happened and there was nothing they could do about it so why were there still hints of stress in the air? She hadn't spoken to Snatcher or Shadow directly, but she could sense it from them.
From her understanding, it seemed there was a revival of some guy. They were referring to him as 'Moonjumper' at first, but now he seemed to be called Randy. There was a Moonjumper before him, but it wasn't the same. She was curious and wanted to ask, but at the same time, part of her wanted this all to be over. Even if she didn't speak to Snatcher and the other ghost much, she preferred how things were before. With them all being a lot more lighthearted. In their way. No stress about some blue guy around them.
She was floating just under the surface of her swamp, letting the current take her whichever way it wanted. If swamps had currents. She heard rivers did but swamps seemed more still. Maybe it was the souls of the water? She didn't know, she was still trying to understand how they were anything besides faces… Even they seemed more surprised and on edge, it seemed. The aura of the water felt different. She hadn't even noticed until now. It felt so strange. She didn't like it.
She crossed her arms and glanced to the side with a huff, moving some of the hair from her eyes. She felt a little bad for being annoyed, but she couldn't help it. She missed the simple nature of Subcon before. Now anytime she heard a voice from anyone while swimming closer to land, it seemed to be about the prophecy and all that. Why was this Moonjumper or Randy or whatever so important anyway? The stories? There were lots of those, what made his so different to seemingly everyone?
She paused as she glanced up, noticing she was near the land now. She went to begin to swim away but paused when she thought she heard something, voices. She recognized one as Snatcher's. She would be able to pick his voice from a crowd easily. It was the second voice she was unsure of. It didn't sound like Shadows, and it felt too… odd to belong to one of the toppats. She decided to see for herself, poking her head out of the soul-water just enough to get a look at them.
"I'm honestly surprised I didn't stumble upon you sooner." was the first thing she heard from Snatcher as she locked onto him, eyes giving a glare and his arms crossed. She followed his eyes to the person he was speaking to and paused. He was strange, with a red and purple outfit covering most of his body, leaning on some cane, and seemed to be moving funny. "You were the one who mentioned the Moonjumper's second coming first, I figured you would have been here day one, Badge."
"Work had me very busy, I'm afraid." The figure known as Badge said, a small tired chuckle in his voice. She paused. Why did she have a weird feeling she had heard that voice somewhere before. "Beside, it would have been rude to burst in here on day one, when he was likely confused."
"Well, he was confused already. Vanessa was the one who revived him." Snatcher said, rolling his eyes at the mention of the women. Ivy didn't know much about Vanessa. All she knew from Shadow was 'she was a mean, scary lady that hurt her dad when alive'. Even with her annoyance for this whole Moonjumper topic, she couldn't help but feel a little bad for the man upon hearing that. "Luckily, he managed to get out on his own. I brought him back to the toppats of course."
"No competition for the forest is better, I suppose." Badge said with a chuckle, to which Snatcher gave a small glare too. Competition? She didn't understand what that meant. Why would they think this guy would have wanted control over the forest? Wouldn't Snatcher have been able too- She paused when the masked man glanced to the side, spotting her and locking eyes with her. "Oh, it's you." He said, her backing away with a hiss as Snatcher glanced over. "Don't be afraid, I won't bite."
"Wait, you already knew about Ivy?" Snatcher asked, getting a nod from the mask man. Snatcher's face went blank for a second, before gaining a hint of anger. "You could have at least told me. There used to be fire spirits in the swamp."
"I mean, it's clear I’m a special case of living creatures with those things." Ivy rolled her eyes, holding where she had gotten hurt under the water from view. After a moment she decided to climb out of the water to get a better look at the mysterious man herself. The man let out a small grunt as he bent down to one knee to be eye level with her, his body twitching a bit more as if in a hint of pain. "What are you? You look broken." She asked as she reached for his sleeve.
"I'm a Badge Seller, young one. I travel across the land, selling my little trinkets." He explained, his free hand jestering to the area around. She glanced around confused, then turned back to him with a tilted head. Did he not understand what she meant? She was clearly meaning what creature he was. He didn't seem dead but he didn't seem fully alive either. "I just happened to be passing by when I ran into my old friend Snatcher here, and started a conversation."
"More like you trigger one of my test traps." Snatcher said, brierley eyeing a red glowing mushroom nearby before turning back to her. "Are you ok? The Moon changing stuff hasn't affected your swamp, has it?"
"You mean the moon changing colors? I just thought it was one of those eclipse things." Ivy said as she glanced at the slightly pinker sky. She didn't even see the big deal with it, didn't the moon change colors outside of subcon all the time. She heard about blue moons, yellow moons, blood moons. She heard Badge chuckle a little at her statement as she turned back to them. "But no, nothing has happened. The water feels a little different but, it's nothing bad. Still fun to swim through."
"Well, that's nice to hear." Badge stated as he got back up, one of his arms rubbing his back slightly. Ivy tilted her head. The arms reminded her a bit of Snatcher, so was he dead? Badge turned up to Snatcher, clearing his throat to get his attention. "I currently don't have any work that needs to be done, and won't for quite awhile. So I will be staying here until that changes." He said as he began to walk away. "I promise, I won't be any issue for you or the ghost."
"Hey, I didn't even give you a hint of permission!" Snatcher shouted. Badge simply waved a dismissive hand as he left.
"I'm honestly surprised you didn't just take his soul? I mean, isn't that what ghostly noodleman like you are for?" She asked, giving a small smirk as Snatcher rolled his eyes at her statement. She closed her eyes as she chuckled, and when she opened them Badge had already vanished into the forest. She shrugged when she saw that and then turned to Snatcher. "Hey, can you ask Shadow if she would like to play since I'm already here?" She asked, tilted her head with a smile.
"Sorry swamp kid. Shadow's with the toppats and I don't feel like going over and garbing her." Snatcher said, floating over to the red mushroom and clearing up what looked like jam beside it. "Beside, I have to get ready. Winter is coming soon and I like to minimize any risk of Vanessa catching me off guard. She already got past that wall once, even if it was by lucky timing for her. I don't want to risk facing her here in her element." He mumbled that last sentence with a hint of fear.
"Oh ok. Maybe the dwellers would like to play?" She asked as she began to walk off. She didn't know why. She was just really interested in seeing the forest now. Or maybe, finding someone in the forest.
Ivy found herself bored. She didn't understand why she felt so drawn to the idea of looking for the mask man. He seemed nice but, so were most of the other people she had met. What made him so special? How he looked? How he acted? She just felt so… drawn to him. Like he was some old friend she never even met. Maybe it was the fact he had apparently seen her before Snatcher ever did, yet didn't tell the spirit about her? Maybe it was because Snatcher hadn't just stolen the man's soul.
Regardless, it kept her going even as she got bored going through the forest. It just felt so samey after a bit. Sure her swamp was the same but in the swamp she felt more alive. More active. She felt like she was a part of it. It gave her energy. So the fact she was away and she was bored made her so annoyed. Her footsteps got a little heavier. She had her arms crossed as she walked. Her annoyance would only be broken by a brief encounter with a bush cat, it racing past her.
It made her chuckle, she loved seeing those little things. She then paused when her chuckle faded. She heard humming. She peaked past one of the bushes nearby, and there was Badge! Resting on a tree stump facing away.
"There you are." She whispered as she stayed in place for a moment. She listened to the toon he was humming. It felt so familiar… why did all of him seem so familiar? She hadn't met or seen him a day in her life… right? She grabbed her head for a moment. Maybe she never met him but… maybe someone else who had that, wasn't Snatcher? Why did it feel harder to- her train of thought was cut off as a bushcat race past her, causing her to fall from her spot. "Dang it!"
Badge glanced over, his mask tilting on his face before his head there. "Oh, hello. Didn't expect to run into you again so soon." He stated as he turned over, Ivy getting up and rolling her eyes a bit. The man chuckled as he glanced at his bag. Ivy then noticed the music box that was in his hand. She hadn't even noticed the music when she was listening. "Do you like it?" He asked. "It's a song that told the story that has now come true. About the second Moonjumper."
"ehh, it sounds nice I guess." Ivy said as she came over, brushing the dirt off her shirt as she looked up at him, then at the musical box. "I just don't understand all the Moonjumper stuff. Why is it such a big deal?"
"Well, as humble as Moonjumper tried to be, he was the closest thing many had seen to a god." Badge said, glancing away as he placed the music box to the side. Ivy blinked in confusion. What was a god? She didn't understand what that meant. Did it mean someone very powerful? If so, wouldn't Moonjumper have been a god? It just didn't make sense to her. "It is said he was sent from the Horizon itself to watch over the world. He could do things no one else ever could."
"But, you have lots of people with magic nowadays." Ivy stated. "Even I have some apparently! I opened some hidden area once! So why is this Moonjumper still seen as someone so special?" She asked as she paced back and forth for a moment trying to think. The Badge Seller gave a knowing chuckle as he placed the music box back into his bag. Ivy glanced over, he seemed more quiet. "I don't mean to sound rude about it. It's just, things have felt different since this second guy came along."
"You prefer things how they were?" He questioned, getting a nod. "Well, that is understable. The forest is peaceful."
"I mean, I guess. I haven't really explored the forest until a few months ago when I first met Snatcher and Shadow Kid… you know Shadow right?" She asked as she turned to him, getting a nod from the figure. She nodded back as she sat on a rock nearby, letting out a sigh as she swung her legs for a moment, letting the bottom of her feet rest. Then she turned to him. "Why are you so insistent on staying here?" She asked as she tilted her head. "It doesn't seem safe enough for you."
"Let's just say I had family in subcon once, and in the lands around. This place is close to me." He spoke. The way he did was…weird however. Like he was picking his words carefully. He said it at a normal talking speed she barely noticed. She wanted to ask about it, but she decided not to be too pushy. She was already bothering him. Though he didn't seem to be annoyed. "I don't plan to be a bother. I would just like to rest. It's been quite a time since I last had properly."
"Geez, that sounds like a nightmare." Ivy said, turning over to face him more directly, resting her hands in her lap. "But can't you stay with the toppats? That Moonjumper guy is with them, I guess."
"Well, the toppats had been making great progress with their rocket. I don't suspect they will be here by spring." Badge stated. Ivy paused when she heard that. Huh. She knew the toppats were trying to go somewhere but never thought about when or, if they would ever actually leave… She brought her arms closer to herself. They seemed fun. She would miss them. "Oh, there's no need to worry for them." Badge said. "But that's part of the reason. Also, there's ruins in Subcon I could make a place out of."
"Isn't that just stealing from the dead?" Ivy asked, tilting her head. Badge paused and blink, as if the thought of that hadn't crossed his mind, at least fully. Ivy gave a giggle at that, what little she could see of his expression was funny. He shook his head as he reached up and adjusted his hood with Ivy humming a bit as she thought about it. She then shrugged. "I don't think they would be that mad. They had their chance to actively claim them for a long time now."
"I suppose you are right about that." Badge said as he got up, glancing around with a hum. He tapped his finger against his mask. "Although I do seem to have lost my memory of where some lay."
"I can help you look." Ivy said. She didn't fully know why she did. She was less bored now, sure, but she still wasn't sure what was up with this guy that made her so curious about him. The man shook his head with what felt like a smile, but she still stood up and went over to the bag he had, trying to lift it up to help him get it back on. He took the bag as she wiped her brow, but she still looked at him. "I don't have anything else to do. Who knows, maybe we can annoy Snatcher."
"I'm not sure that is the best idea, young one." Badge said as he adjusted the bag on his back before glancing around again. It felt like he was looking for a hint of something she couldn't see. It felt so strange, so odd. Like he knew the place better than he let on. It made her a little worried, but she had this weird feeling he could be trusted. Eventually he sighed. "Well, I don't think I can stop you from tagging along if you so chose to. But there's no need, Ivy."
"Well, that's going to make me do it more, so there." She said as she glanced up, sticking her tongue out a tiny bit. "I bet I can find a place faster than you can walk ten minutes!"
The air was quiet for a moment, Badge raising his hand up to his mask and chuckling. Ivy thought for a second she could see the grin on the hidden face when the mask shifted.
"I don't think that's how time works, dear." Badge responded.
Ivy gave a shrug. "I'm not the time wielder here… now come on!" She said, garbing his free hand when it was lowered and beginning to try and pull him forward. Key word being try. "You're so slow!" she said, Badge nodding as they began to head further into the forest.
It was a little awkward at first for the two. Going through the forest with not much else going on. Both would have occasional conversations about certain things. How many tricks Ivy could do in the swamp. The different places Badge had seen throughout his travels. It was all so interesting. Yet it was hard to keep one going for long. Ivy had barely been outside of Subcon and Badge didn't seem to warp his head around the tricks Ivy would describe. They both did their best.
Ivy seemed to notice Badge always seemed to have his eyes on her more than the path ahead. Perhaps a bit of worry? She found it a little creepy but the man gave such an aura of trust around him… What if it was a trick? She didn't know how that would even be possible but hey, from what she knew weirder things have happened. And a trick for what? She was just a kid. A kid who lived in a swamp no one else could safely pass that hadn't aged since she could remember. Normal stuff.
Eventually the two decided to sit down for a quick rest. Badge had hit his foot on a small rock he didn't see and was letting out faint hisses of pain.
"Why must such a simple act result in a great amount of pain." Badge mumbled as he had the hurt foot rest on his knee. Ivy gave a shrug, maybe there were more pain sectors in the foot than other parts of the body? She didn't understand human anatomy. She glanced to the side while adjusting her hair, and paused when she thought she saw an icy blue and got up. "Ivy?" Badge asked when he saw her heading past some of the bushes. "Where are you going? I don't think it's best for you to leave my sight."
"I thought I saw something!" She called before she kept heading forward. If it was ice, she needed to let Snatcher know that Vanessa had somehow gotten out of the place. If it wasn't, then she was curious about what it was. She pushed away some of the bushes, and paused at the sight. An hourglass that looked like it was made of blue crystals, with parts shattered and hanging in mid air. "Woah…" She was sure her eyes were sparkling. "Hey, Mister Badge. You need to see this!"
"I'm coming!" Badge said, before stumbling beside her and pausing. "Oh…" He said. Like he had been here before.
"I guess 'oh' is a decent reaction, but just look at all this!" She said as she raced over. "It looks like something out of a fantasy book. LIke, a really fantasy book!" She said as she began to climb up one of the stone walls nearby. Badge nodded as he walked around, and glanced at the gem structure, sitting down in front of it. Ivy glanced over and tilted her head. "Hey, are you ok Badge?" She asked as she sat down on top of the wall. "You seemed more surprised in a weird way."
"Oh. I just… remember how we briefly talked about the Moonjumper earlier?" He asked her, getting a small nod in return. Ivy glanced at the structure. Sure it was blue but it didn't seem to have any moons or stars, or at least any she could see. She saw Badge pick up one of the gem pieces and hold it in his hand. Rubbing one finger against it like he was trying to observe every tiny detail. "This was his home. Where he lived. And where he would be killed. That's why it's broken like this…" He glanced up at the glowing structure. "Even so, the magic never quite faded.."
"Huh, why would he want to live in an hourglass? Doesn't seem to comfy." Ivy said as she glanced back at the structure. She heard Badge chuckle a small bit as she stood up. She noticed a gear floating in place and jumped over to it, smiling as she stood proud on it. Badge hadn't noticed, and she decided to see how far she could get before he did. "I mean, at least in my home I have room to move around." She started with a smile as she jumped to the closest floating object.
"Well, it wasn't an hourglass until not long before his death. He changed it so the people would have a better idea of.." He trailed off as she jumped to another part, standing up in a hurry. "Ivy, come down!" he called, to which she stuck her tongue out and kept jumping about. Badge panicked as he went over to where she was as fast as he could, catching a breath. "Ivy, child, I know you have some restraint. But it will still hurt if you land wrong when you come down."
"Relax." Ivy said, jumping off her current platform, aiming to land on the ground below. However, Badge got over just in time to catch her. She crossed her arms. "Can't you be more fun?"
"Forgive me for being at least a little concern." Badge said, rolling his eyes as he placed her down with a sigh. "Don't scare me like that, please." He said, making Ivy tilt her head. Was he that worried for someone he met personally just today? Was it because she was a kid? Hat Girl did way more when she was a kid. And she was perfectly fine! She watched him glance at the structure. "Wonder if I can clear out the inside, make enough room for a good shelter, like Snacther's tree."
"Well, I don't think the new Moonjumper is going to be using it anyway." Ivy said, Badge giving a small nod as he went into the bottom of the hour glass. He looked around like there was less space than he expected even though he had just seen it. It just made her feel more odd. Why was he acting like he was here before when he clearly hadn't been before. "It's still so strange, don't you think… You think the original Moonjumper had a family? Outside of the kingdom."
"Perhaps." Badge said as he moved some stuff out carefully. "He was actually found and raised for a small time by the kingdom's florists at the time. According to some stories, at least."
"Huh, I think Snatcher knew those florist people when he was alive." Ivy said as Badge tilted his head. "Oh, wait, time passage, right." She said, earning a quiet chuckle from the figure as he kept clearing the space, eventually placing his bag outside a bit so he had a little more room to work. That made Ivy hummed, and glanced over at Badge, giving a wave when he looked over at her. "Hey, can I mess with a few of your Badges? I promise I'll be careful" She smiled.
"…Alright, but please be careful. Just don't touch one black and green one!" He said, raising his hand up a bit. Ivy tilted her head at that. He must really care about that one. She thought that was the loudest she heard him. Even if his voice was still gentle and calm for the most part. Still, she raced over to the bag to take a look.
"Oh, what does this one do?" Ivy asked as she picked up a badge with many dots on it. She pinned it to her shirt, and nothing seemed to happen at first. She gave a small grumble as she went to take it off, but when she cupped her hands together when going for it, a small orb appeared in her hand, growing once she pulled it away. She gasped as she dropped it, its white turning to stripes of green once it made contact with the ground. "This is so cool!" She said as she picked it back up.
"Oh, yes." Badge said as he glanced over. "Those orbs pick up the first type of element they make contact with after creation." Ivy hummed and tossed the orb to a nearby tree. The orb bounced against the bark, a small patch of moss with glowing mushrooms forming where it was hit. Ivy gasped and began to bounce it among more trees. It didn't last long, the orb shattering into mist after it made contact with its forth tree. "They never last for long." He explained, watching Ivy make another.
"Wonder what happens if I.." She made an orb and tossed it to the hourglass, the orb taking on a magical glow before falling down with a crash.
Badge looked at where the ground had now been indented down. "Well, guess I know how to make crystal balls."
Ivy lost track of time as she played with the badges, all having different effects. One made her glow a ghostly pink, almost like Shadow Kid's glow. One gave the illusion of her having sharp teeth and claws. One gave her enough strength to be able to lift some of the rocks about. One seemed to cause little whispers that narrate all she did. That last one creeped her out a bit, her having toss it. She would have left it to never be found, but it didn't belong to her. So when went to get it back.
She paused as she came back to the hourglass once she had found where the badge had landed. A lot of the debris had been cleared about, and a peak inside showed it was decently clear inside as well. Badge looked like he had started arranging the floating bits to act as a staircase. Well, as best as he could get them. They were out of reach and his badges could only do so much to help him with those. It seemed he had gotten tired, as he found a spot and sat down, taking some breaths.
Ivy went to place the Badge back in his bag, and glanced over slightly. The man's mask was so strange to her. She didn't understand why he had it. It moved all over, yet still his face was hidden.
"You must have gone through a lot to get all these badges." Ivy said as she sat on the ground near him. Badge glanced down at her, simply giving a shrug. That didn't give her much information. She didn't need it but maybe it would get her more answers about him. About how he was. What he was… maybe if she could just get a good look at his face. She stood up and glanced at him. "Do you remember all the places you went to? Can you tell me a bit about them?" She asked.
"Huh, well, there's many over my long time." Badge said, humming as he glanced to the side. His mind seeming to drift as he thought about it. Ivy climbed to get next to him, then quietly reached for the mask. She waited for a second, seeing if he would notice. He didn't seem to, so she garbed and tried to pull away. She only saw a glimpse of what looked like cracked skin before Badge acted. It all happened in less than a second and he glared. "Ivy!" He said, a tone of anger in his voice.
"I-I was just curious." She said, crossing her arms, but a hint of fear in her voice. "It kept moving yet I couldn't see your face.."
Badge seemed to pause for a moment, before sighing. "I'm… sorry." He said, gently patting her on the head. "For my tone. It's just… my face always brought me painful memories. I never liked seeing it, nor ever liked the idea of it being seen." He said as he adjusted the purple hood around his head, his body seeming to glitch out a bit more for a moment. "I know it's just thoughts, nothing to worry about. I could show it now but… I don't know.." He sighed. "It just feels hard too, if that makes sense."
"Not at all." Ivy stated, tilting her head. The man gave a small chuckle before he rested his hands in his lap. Ivy didn't know what he meant by painful memories. He seemed like he always had this simple life. She didn't see how that could bring him painful memories, she had none… Still, she couldn't help but feel a bit bad as she sat beside him again. "I'm sorry." Ivy stated. "I just got curious but, I guess it would be like if someone pulled my hair tightly."
"Not exactly, but you have an understanding." He stated as he glanced at her. "I accept the apology. Like you said, you were just curious. Children tend to be."
"Well, I been a kid as long as I can remember." Ivy started with a small shrug, feeling a bit better. The tone had just surprised her coming from the man. He was so gentle. She thought he wouldn't be capable of true anger. Maybe she was naive in thinking that. She didn't know. She felt mostly the same most days. Except for lately, with all the Moonjumper talk… "I still don't know why the Moonjumper stuff bugs everyone so much. Bugs me so much." She said. "Like, can't I just let people feel how they feel and not be brother."
"We are social creatures. We tend to act based on the emotions of those around us. Our mood is affected by theirs." Badge stated, Ivy giving a hum. She then gave a small nod. Yea, she guessed she could see that. Although she hadn't been 'social' most of her life, so who knew how true that was for her. Badge brought his hand to his mask, touching the chin of it. "I have to ask, how do you like it in your swamp?" He questioned. "Is it nice? Is it lonely? Was it before the ghost."
"Ehh, I guess it was lonely, but I never minded." Ivy stated with a shrug. "I was fine on my own for so long… why do you care anyway? You sound so genuinely worried."
"I just tend to be. You look a little young to be left on your own. At least the Moonjumper was in his teens when he was first found.." Badge mumbled the last sentence quietly, making her tilt her head. Found in his teens, but didn't he say earlier he was raised by the florists? Did he mean from there? It didn't sound like he thought it was another story. And what did the age of Moonjumper when he was found have to do with her? "But you proven yourself capable, it seems."
"I mean, I'm not exactly a normal human child." She stated. Sometimes she wondered if she was even human. She had the appearance of one. But she could last longer without basic needs compared to them. She also had this weird feeling she wasn't made of the same stuff humans were. She could bleed and all that but… She shook her head. "I nearly started a circus for myself in my head." She stated calmly.
"Oh dear, that wouldn't have been good now would it." Badge started with a sigh, before glancing at the hourglass. "I should be getting back to work but, I'll be honest. This isn't exactly fun to do."
"Why don't we do something a little bit more fun than that!" Ivy stated, getting up and beginning to go back and forth, humming in thought. Badge watched with a small chuckle, resting his cane against him and tapping the top of it. Ivy glanced around the area. It could take forever to find someone in this part of the woods… that gave her a smirk before she clapped her hands, switching the smirk for a more innocent smile. "How about hide and seek!" She said, turning around to him.
"I don't know, I'm not exactly a good hider." Badge stated as his arm glitched to the side, bending in a way that felt more inhumane than usual. Ivy pointed to herself and softened her smile, bouncing on her toes a bit. Badge glanced around, seeming to gain a worried aura around him. He stood up after a moment and glanced down at her, and she nodded a bit. "Well, as long as you don't go too far, or get in harm's way," he added. "I suppose we can play a quick game. Shall I start?"
"Yes, good luck!" She said as she began to race off, only to pause as she got near some bushes. "And no peeking!" She called before she dashed as far as her legs could carry her. Maybe she could find a tree and use that to climb up really high.
The Badge Seller chuckled as he covered his eyes, racing away from where she ran in case his body pulled them away too soon.
"I'm not counting aloud, it will be too easy for you." He called, not caring much if she heard or not. Maybe it would be fun to relax, even if just for another moment. He never got to do that much, at least truly. Even in his memories of before…
Ivy wasn't as good at climbing as she thought. Maybe it was just her long sleeves and hair getting caught on the smaller branches and parts of the bark. She still did manage to get up to a good-sized branch and hide in the reddish-pinkish leaves, having to hold in her giggles in case Badge passed from below. She waited for a moment, then two, expecting to see him past with absolutely no clue. But he didn't. Surely, he would have started hunting by now? Then again, he was slow.
Eventually, it started getting a bit boring. Not too much to make her want to quit, but she thought about making her spot more obvious,fgr90000 so Badge at least had a better chance. She wasn't even sure if he would be able to see her from down there thanks to the leaved platform… why were there just leaf platforms anyway? A strange side effect of the curse that had fallen onto this land? It felt like it was a decision to have someone jump between the trees without a care in the world…
Oh well, at least it gave her a decent view of the strange towers in the far distance. She laid on her side and watched the fire dance distantly from the fire one. She still felt a little fight by the dancing flames but these ones felt more peaceful compared to the spirits.
"There you are." The faint calming voice was almost a jumpscare with how sudden it was. She sat up surprised and that was when she noticed that her hair must have gone over the leafy platform while she didn't notice. That must have been what gave her away. Dang it! Well, at least she could try and find a more fun spot. She went to the edge and glanced down at Badge. "Wait, don't jump-" She jumped off the platform, and he had to back up in order to catch her. "Down."
"Oh come on, did you want me to go down the boring way?" Ivy said as Badge placed her down, reaching over and pulling out a leaf that got caught in her hair. The joy she felt faded a bit when she thought she heard something nearby. She glanced around, before pausing as she saw a red and blue glow nearby. She began to head over until the figures came into view. "Dwellers." She whispered to Badge, pointing them out. "But why are they this far away without Snatcher or someone else?"
"Maybe they wanted to revisit…" Badge pointed to the ruins near where the souls were. One of the Dwellers held what looked to be pieces of an old toy in their tail. "Poor things look close to crying…"
"They went through a lot, huh…" Ivy said as she watched the other dweller rest in what looked to be the ruined remains of a basket, reaching for its mask to adjust it. She tried not to think about what happened to the ghost ever since she started learning. Most, if not all of them were kids, taken far before what should have been their time. It was tragic. "I wish I could help them but, I can't." She whispered. "I probably hurt them just by being seen. I'm alive and they aren't."
"That may be true to an extent. But that doesn't mean they hate you for it. They're probably happy for you…" Badge glanced at the Dwellers, before slowly walking over. The ghostly children noticed and each dashed behind the ruined walls, each taking a small peak out. Like they knew they shouldn't be afraid but couldn't help it. Badge just stayed there. "It's alright, dear children." He whispered. "I mean you no harm, you do not need to hide. No one can hurt you here."
"Yea… he's right," Ivy said, before pausing as she began to head over. "Hey, I got an idea, little guy. Wanna hear?"
"Oh, now I'm curious." Badge said as he took a step back, letting Ivy walk up to the ruins with a gentle smile. The Dwellers glance at each other, as if a bit unsure.
"Why don't we play a little game of tag? I bet you guys are very quick." She said with a smile. She tried to sound gentle, but she didn't know how well she was doing it. The blue one stayed put, but the red one came out of the space. It made a quick little dash forward. Ivy smiled and ran along the ruins wall, before turning to the dweller. "Can you beat that?" She asked, to which it dashed to where she was as fast as it could. She clapped her hands. "That was so cool!"
"Huh. not the first thing that came to my mind." Badge stated, deciding to take some steps back to clear more of the space. Ivy tapped the dweller's mask before racing off, the dweller dashing after to try and get her back. She let out some giggles, and the dweller began to raise its head as if in joy. The blue one began to creep from their hiding spot. "Looks like you need to make space for another player, Ivy." He whispered when she went past, Ivy pausing to look at the blue sweller.
"Hey!" She said, waving, before the red dweller bumped into her hand. "Oh, you got me! But that means it's my turn now! RUN!" She roared.
"You better listen!" Badge called, chuckling as he watched the dwellers scatter. The blue one seemed to still be a good bit shaky, but the red one looked like they were having the time of their afterlife. It brought some joy to Ivy's soul. She couldn't explain it but it made her feel more.. alive. She always felt that way when she was around the ghost to an extent, but cheering up those more upset… she couldn't place it. "Red, look out!" Badge called when Ivy almost got them.
That allowed the red one to dash around a corner, making her trip and fall. "Badge!" She said as she glared over. Still, she couldn't help but laugh as she did and got up. The blue one came over to check if she was ok, and she was able to tag their mask before running off with a bit of laughter. She quickly lost track as they all kept getting tagged and tagged, it was just a lot of fun. "Man, why don't I do this more often." She asked. "You wouldn't think I would have this much fun with ghost that were just sad."
"Well, maybe it's just in your nature?" Badge suggested as Ivy slowed to catch her breath. She glanced over with a tilt of her head, the dwellers focusing on chasing each other for the time. It almost seemed like they were laughing. "After all that happens to this forest, perhaps you were brought to try and bring a little joy back."
"Ehh, that sounds a little odd. Maybe I just exist because I do?" Ivy asked, tilting her head. Badge gave a nod, like he agreed. Ivy gave a smile to him. Sure, he was a little weird and she still didn't understand why she felt so drawn to him. But he seemed nice. And seemed to have some weird understanding of her. She could always try to figure things out at a later date, he was staying in the forest after all. "Now, I wonder if I can make a proper race track for the dwellers."
"I wish you luck in that." Badge started with a chuckle. He saw Ivy roll her eyes as she went to start picking up rocks to use to border the tracks. The dwellers began to pick up small sticks and leaves to help loosen it all as well. However, they didn't get very far before a yawn came from Ivy. She shook her head, but another came. Badge let out a chuckle of amusement. "Well, I should probably get you back to your swamp." He said as he walked over. "You need a nap."
"Noo, I can go very long without sleeping!" Ivy said, sticking her tongue out and shaking her head. She slept, like, a few days ago! She was more than fine. "I'm gonna race my heart out, and there's nothing you or my body can do to stop me!
It didn't take that long until her movements slowed, and Badge had to catch her from falling a lot of time. She huffed and mumbled, but it did nothing to stop him from walking away with her.
By the time Badge had walked to the main part of the forest with Ivy, she had fallen asleep. He had no chance of crossing the soul filled swamp himself, but he knew she would be safe in it. He gently bent down and lowered her into the water, a smile forming faintly on her face as he did so. The water drifted with her for a moment, taking her slightly from the shore. He let out a sigh as he watched, glancing to the side. He had a smile on. She was so innocent. So precious.
He stayed there for a moment. His legs hurt a bit from carrying her a good distance. It was funny, he could carry his bag just fine but the second he had to carry a child it felt like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. Of course, his arms were much weaker than his back. He was still surprised they functioned at all sometimes. It felt like they would break at any moment, sometimes it looked like that as well. But of course, they still stayed strong. Just like his existence.
He didn't need to turn around to know Snatcher had appeared behind him. He could feel the familiar ghostly aura from the last prince of subcon. He didn't face him, just looked down at the ground. Letting the phantom speak first.
"She's asleep? Good, I'm not sure I would want her to hear this." Snatcher sighed, resting a hand to his face before looking down at the Badge Seller. "I know you're one of the four pieces of the original Moonjumper." He said. "I already met Legends. I know for a fact Hat Girl has met one of the two others." Badge didn't respond, just taking a breath. "Why didn't you tell anyone sooner? Why not just tell us what was going to happen so it was less of a worry. Macbeth had a whole crisis over his fate for nothing!"
"I don't remember all the details." Badge said, holding an arm close to himself. Snatcher paused. He sounded sad. More sad than he thought he ever heard from the man. Which, wasn't much in the first place. But it was still something that surprised the ghost. Badge slowly turned to face the phantom, although he kept his gaze to the ground. He took a breath before speaking. "Have you ever wondered what it's like? To have memories of a life you knew you never lived, yet you feel so close to…"
"Badge… let me see your face." Snatcher said as he shrunk down, trying to seem more friendly for once. "You use that mask to help overcome your emotions, don't you?"
The Badge Seller sighed. "You won't leave me alone until I show it, won't you?" He asked, the ghost giving a nod. Badge reached for his mask. He took it off before, why did it feel heavier this time… Snatcher eyed the being once the mask came off. He looked like Moonjumper but… drained and broken. His skin was cracked, his right eye dull and his left one having a green glow. "Moonjumper's body was made from a good amount of magic…" He chuckled sadly. "That magic had to go somewhere."
"I guess the main reason you wore that is to block suspicions throughout the years. You've been around for what, thousands at this point?" Snatcher questioned. Badge frowned as he glanced down. He didn't know. He lost track so long ago. It helped him not to hurt… Snatcher floated over, sighing as he put a hand on his shoulder, Badge glancing up at him. "I don't know what it's like, but I doubt it's very healthy." Snatcher tilted his head. "Although, it seemed you're more broken than the others."
"Hydratic is carefree. Autiomaa barely remembers anything about Moonjumper compared to the rest." Badge explained. "I have no idea how it was so easy for Legends to accept his fate."
"Yea. If I were him, I would be in agony." Snatcher said. "Like, I guess at the very least he can speak. Being stone without that might as well be a punishment worse than death." He stated. Part of him wanted to chuckle at the idea of watching someone fall under that fate but, even in his head it still seemed so messed up. Snatcher focused his attention back onto Badge. "I'm guessing you have most of his memories?" Badge nodded, glancing to the side. "Then why not just, call yourself Moonjumper? It would probably hurt you less."
"I tried that before, many times." Badge said as he glanced up at him, before looking at his hand. "But I'm not the son of the Horizon. I'm just part of what remains of him. No matter how close any of us are in one way or another, we'll never be him." Badge had to wipe a tear from his eyes, Snatcher gestured for him to put back on the mask. "I may remember things in clear detail, but there's so much that was important to Moonjumper that I don't. His time with his partner-"
"Eh, you're probably better without those memories," Snatcher said but sighed. "But I guess I can see what you mean."
"Anamund was everything to him. He would have spent his life with them if he had a chance."
The two fell quiet for a moment. Badge glanced back to the sleeping child, who had now drifted quite a bit away from the two. He slowly got up, a yawn leaving his mouth.
"Just… one more question before you go get some sleep," Snatcher stated, Badge glancing over. "Why was she affected by the fire spirits?"
Badge seemed to hesitate for a moment, but then let out a small sigh. Before he whispered. Quietly, as if he was afraid someone might overhear.
"She's the original's sister."

[2k12 Rasey] ❛ is that my hoodie? ❜
| muse interaction
If Casey was a girl Raphael was positive that the way he was quick to look at his phone would get him teased. Luckily Casey was a reckless idiot that Raphael often had to keep an eye on because he was always bound to go and get himself into trouble. And who was the one who had to bail them out, and save their ass? If you thought Raphael you were right. And his brothers knew that all too well. So it went ignored when he felt his phone buzz, the pattern set specifically for Casey so even if the ringer was off the turtle would know, that Casey was trying to get a hold of him. For a number of reasons. Sometimes and it was what made his stupid heart do a stupid flutter in his shell, was they just wanted to talk.
About what? didn't matter they talked about a lot. Music, their days, Casey told him about something that happened at school or practice. Raph would tell Casey about something during training. Right now Raphael was complaining over the stupid show they were watching now, but it was Leo's turn to pick. So he couldn't say much or he wouldn't get his choice next week. Wondering if he should ask Casey to join them next week. He should pick a monster flick then Casey likes those.
[text] thank fuck, look who finally doing the saving for once
[text] ;) (unsent)
No way he could send a wink to his meant to be friend only. That he so wasn't in to at all no course not, that why he clearly was over thinking every response he texted back to his friend. Meant nothing as well. Clearly.
Uncaring about the stupid Space Heros marathon that was playing in the first place. The smile on his beak would have for sure been called out. If Casey were a girl but because Casey was a boy they never teased him really for his constant attention set on to his phone screen whenever it came to Casey. As Raphael shifted to rest his shell to the back of the couch, a smile soft across his beak as he started to text Casey back.
Raphael and his brothers were pretty big on teasing one another. About pretty much anything they could. That meant crushes were fair game as well. But thing is they didn't know Raphael had one on Casey. Would for sure sign him up for some roasting. It saved him in some ways. That they didn't know his preferences. Even if sometimes Mikey joked Casey was his girlfriend when he felt Raph was too focused on Casey.
To be fair. Raphael hadn't even realized himself that he was interested in guys. But it wasn't a crush not at all, okay it was he knew thst but Casey was his best friend. Sure there was April and he liked April but she was more like his sister. Casey was just different. It when Loe's sudden fanboying caught the turtles attention eyes moving to the TV screen. Man this show sucked ass. Raphael rolled around the thought of asking Casey for good monster movies for next week. He could then maybe ask Casey to join them? That wouldn't be weird. Casey wad thier friend too he hung out with them. Wouldn't be like a date or nothing. Besides they hang out all the time.
Fingers moving on the phone when he stops and deletes what he typed. Or he could ask in person?
[text] you free?
[text] Leo's going full nerd talkin' behind the scene crap.
Course he always found it cute when Casey did it. But thar because Casey got so excited and loved to dumo information that did mange to breach the thick walls of Casey's skull.
[Text] I need outta here dude, you own me for last week
Raphael smiles when he sees the next text, then moves to stand up, of course it doesn't go unnoticed. So Raphael gave his brothers a quick excuse claiming Casey needed him. They bought it the pair of them were nearly inseparable after all. They seemed quick to buy Casey got himself into some trouble. Leo just off handed went to go leader mode telling Raphael the usual. Be careful, don't attention to himself, wear a jacket. Okay the last one wasn't normally part of it, winter was still a time they tended not to go out as much during. The down side of being cold blooded. But another reason to aid in Raph's excuse to get out from the lair. He needed some space, and he hadn't seen Casey to much thanks to the cold either. Not that said much it been maybe two weeks at best. Raphael rolled his eyes but made his way towards his room first. They didn't often make use of clothes but it could come in handy in a pinch.
Raphael texted Casey once more to set up a meeting place, the usual roof top. Worked as a good middle place for them. Dragon hunting wasn't really the plan for once. It was more just 'guy time'. Right guy time, as in spending time with your best friend. Where he would ignore how it made his stomachache do the tiniest flip. Or how he sometimes kept count of how often Casey seemed to touch him. Arms throw over his shoulders, elbow rested on his shoulder. How his cool scales seems to burn with warmth taken from every touch after. No he wasn't going to think about any of that because he never thought about how cute Casey crooked, gap tooth smile or noticing how street lights hit Casey brown eyes, more like a soft warm honey brown glow. How he could feel warmth hit his cheeks if Casey paid just a few too many compliments his way. Or how Casey always got him to make that stupid soft look and give an equally stupid soft laugh. No of course not.
Raphael pushed that to the side in his mind as he stepped into how room and looked around for a moment. He could handle the cold for a good while but even he had to admit some defeat with the winter chill that was sweeping through the city the past couple of days. Besides he be able to stick it out longer with Casey. If he could only find a jacket that is, downside of not really wearing clothes he sort of didn't keep track of them. Well he least found something after looking around long enough. An old red jacket it was a little thin, didn't really offer much for lining but it was big and worked to cover even around his shell so he been able to slip it on in rare moments where he needed it but it didn't do much for keeping him warm. And then the second? He could feel his stomachache drop when his eyes landed over Casey's hoodie. Left behind one of the time Casey spent the night in the lair, Raph always intended to give it back. Casey didn't seem to notice because it never got mentioned he was in a hurry to get home though so Raph just assumed the dork forgot.
Was Casey the dork for that though or was Raph for keeping it. Not like he hadn't had chances to. But..he did sometimes just kind of leave it on his bed it still had traces of Casey's scent on it. Mainly the Lynx body spray Casey caked on. With traces of what Raph assumed was the combine smells of the plenty box and the alleyways of the city. But it was all very much Casey hits of a small icy scent as well likely from the ice rink. Which was kind of why he kept putting it off. He needed ti give it back its just tourmenting if anything. When he felt his phone buzz once more he eyed it seeing Casey text. He needed to hurry up. But the one jacket would be enough.
"Please be a fucking idiot" Raphael knows this was not going to go that well.
---------
❛ is that my hoodie? ❜
Of course he would notice just Raph's luck. Raphael had layered it under the other jacket hoping it be hard to notice, even with the old beanie on top his head and the scarf Mikey lent to him as well on his way out. Raphael just shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno maybe"
Yes.
And don't ask for it back.
"Musta left it didn't even notice jus' needed something more so I don't freeze my ass off tonight." Raphael tries his best to be as nonchalant about it.
Moving to sit beside Casey and probe at thier duffle bag to see what they packed up as if it was far more interesting than Raphael wearing Casey's hoodie. He swears he can feel Casey's stare on him as he looks around to see cans of paint and of course a baseball bat and such. Raphael thinks about asking if that wanna go tag up some walls and just hang out. In hopes it gets Casey to forget he had on his hoodie. Even if it's was soft, warm and trapped Casey's scent in the fabric.
"Why is it a problem for me to be wearin' it?" Raphael finally asks. Fixing a stare at Casey now, "I shower far more often that you do. Ya scary that junk on so much its basically soaked into your hoodie." Raphael complains a bit over.
Part of him didn't hate it, though. Not cause he had a crush on Casey no of course not. Raph doesn't fully listen when Casey clearly has to defend his hygiene habits. If you could even call them that. "Hey wanna watch a movie with me?" Raohael finds his voice speaking before his own brain understand that was his voice cutting Casey off just then. Fuck. "We do this thing on Fridays we watch TV it's sorta a tradition I guess. Next weejs my turn an' was thinkin' a monster flick maybe? And ya love those figure you have a few good picks." Raphael shrugs his shoulders. Trying to ignore how much he didnt need to explain what he had. But he needed to clear up he meant with us not just him. Why would they only watch a movie together after all? That be werid. Or was thinking it be would be weird the werid part?
"Not 'ike be a big deal of you came." Expect it would be for Raphael. They could sit next to each other Casey's arms against his side, maybe his leg against his own. Stop it.
"April joins sometimes too." Right another friend of there's so....
Even Raphael was annoyed at the lengths he was willing to jump just to act like he wasn't obviously crushing on his best friend. Was it wrong if he had a crush on Casey? Least Casey was someone he could trust and did. Casey understood the value of family and friends. Casey checked a lot of boxes and create mkre of what Raphael would be interested in.
But Casey was his best friend. He couldn't lose that. Would he lose that? They fight but Casey and him always came back to the other. Raphael sneeks another peak at Casey. He sweats his heart is flipping in his shell. And his stomach is turning inside out. Sure he was crushing on Casey. That was one thing and he thought it be best to keep it to himself but would it reallt be wrong to give it a shot?
Maybe. Why would Cadey be into him? He tells Donnie all the fucking time a human could never be interested in them after all. Casey was crazy...but nah it wouldn't happen. It couldn't ever happen.
"Less you want it to jus' be us?" He smirks and it seems like a tease and he wouldn't blame Casey for it. But in truth. He meant it. He just asked out his best friend. And he really needed to stop this stupidity.

Him (pt.3 of the painter)
The next morning suna came over again and hung out with samu for a bit while I painted up in the attic, I made a few small paintings of Omi Omi, one was of him having a sunflower wreath over his eyes, the next was of his side profile then I started on a bigger portrait of his side profile. After getting the neat sketch done samu came up with suna "hey tsumu" he said sitting beside me as I judged my work "hi samu, hi suna" I said adding a few more details with my pencil
"I told kiyo about you and your work and he doesn't believe me and thinks I was just high when it happened so I was wondering if you'd wanna see him" said suna looking at me curiously as I looked at samu but he was just staring at my artwork "yeah, I'll meet Omi Omi" I said standing up "just let me go get some stuff" I said walking off
"oh okay" said suna, to be honest i'm kinda regretting saying yes to going to meet him what if he's a creep or even worse says i'm a stalker and just copied all his work to and made myself look like his artwork to catch his attention because i'm obsessed with him or something and goes to the police, the thought quickly left my mind as I realized i've been watching too many true crime shows with samu.
After grabbing my phone from my room, grabbing my spare wireless headphones and putting my other one's on the charger I grabbed my wooden art satchel and slid my phone into the front pocket of my overalls and put my headphones into the side pocket I added onto my satchel to specifically hold my headphones. After grabbing my things we set out with suna leading the way to his friends house, I was getting more and more nervous about meeting him by every block luckily samu noticed and walked next to me pointing out dumb stuff and helping me forget a bit about the fact I was about to meet this guy i've been drawing since I touched a pencil "alright we're here" said suna walking over to a small house with a nice intricate black fence around the lawn and all kinds of flowers and even a pretty wisteria tree in the front yard, while I was admiring the garden I heard a gasp making me look up and there he was, he was even more beautiful than any of my paintings his eyes are the most beautiful part about him and I did them no justice in any of my art of him over the years and then his hair was way more curly than in my paintings and his lips oh his lips were beautiful and plump and his lips are a mesmerizing coral pink than in my paintings and then my admring ended as Omi Omi fell over and before I knew it I was by his side checking to see if he didn't just die on the spot and then I checked his forehead "oh god he's way too hot" I said
"yeah yeah tsumu your Omi Omi is beautiful now lets call an ambulance" said samu getting out his phone "wh-NO" I yelled glaring at him as I felt my face heat up "he has a fever" I said scoffing at him "ohhh" said samu and suna in unison as I picked Omi Omi up and brought him into his house after taking off my shoes "suna you know this house right?" I asked
"yeah, I got it towel, water bowl and thermometer" he said speed walking off as I took off Omi Omi's shirt "tsumu don't get ahead of yourself" said osamu in his annoying joking voice
"oh shut it he needs to cool off" I said quickly getting us to bicker
"oi chill out you guys and stop bickering" said suna walking over with a thermometer in hand, gloves on, a pack of gloves and face masks in between him and the full water basin and then there was a towel on his head, as he set the water basin down he quickly gave me gloves and a mask "put these on he has slight germaphobia" he said making me nod as I put them on and then took the towel from him and wet it in the water as he put on a mask and gloves with samu "do you know why he has a fever?" I questioned suna after placing the towel on top of his forehead "uh no, actually it's really weird that he has one" he said confused as he stared at Omi Omi and having nothing better to do so I sat criss cross applesauce and stared at Omi Omi waiting for him to wake up.
After about a minute after Omi Omi fainted he woke up "welcome back from the dead kiyo" said suna who was leaning on the couch "what?" he questioned but suna just pointed at me
"oh" he said when he looked over and then we started staring at each other again
"jeez you two get a grip" said samu looking at us unamused
"shut up samu this is a very astonishing moment!" I said glaring at him
"twins" said Omi Omi shocked
"yeah" said suna smirking at Omi Omi for whatever reason
"so kiyo are you sick?" he questioned
"no?" said Omi Omi confused
"well you were heating up" said suna handing him the thermometer so he could check his temperature and after a little bit he came back normal "wow tsumu so you just lied to us about him overheating to take off his shirt" said samu cackling about his little joke but unlucky for him I decked him in the face "OW ATSUMU" he yelled punching me back and then we ended up duking it out in Omi Omi's house while he and suna watched.
After fighting suna patched us both up and then we went to go sit in Omi Omi's back garden which was even more beautiful than the front garden, it was mostly just water with koi in it but there were some pretty water flowers and then in the middle of the pond where a cute white little bridge which led to a little island with a cute little round picnic table with a white umbrella and cute black and white chairs with the table having a painted Crazytunia Black on it along with two linen tablecloths with holes in it to show the design of the table and to mimic the look of petals "wow" I said after taking it all in
"yeah, aren't you glad I got you into gardening?" questioned suna smiling at his friend
"uh-yeah" he said
"I thought your garden out front was beautiful but this is just stunning" I said now staring at the koi as I walked along the little bridge "how did you do all this?" I questioned looking at him amazed. "tsumu we are not doing this to our backyard," said samu making me whine,
"but samu it's so beautiful!" I said annoying him
"yeah but no" he said "we won't have any room for fostering if we even attempted this" said samu reasoning me out of my totally great idea which made me huff "if you still want to know how I did it we can talk about it over coffee" proposed Omi Omi
"yeah!" I said, smiling at him.
