I couldn’t tell you when I fell asleep, but what I could tell you was that I had woken up to a tapping sensation on my arm, my name being quietly called.
“Olivia, can you take me home now?” Nancy asked.
Sitting up, I stretched some and nodded my head. She had asked me where Barb was, but I didn’t have a clue, telling Nancy that she might’ve just walked home, at seeing me sleeping.
When I got home after taking Nancy home, I tried not to make any noise to wake my mom up, but I wasn’t anticipating her being up. So, when I saw her sitting in her chair with our cat, Mews, I jumped out of my skin. “Jesus, Mom. You scared me.”
“Livvie, where have you been?” she asked, petting the cat.
There’s no sense in lying. “I went to Steve’s.”
“I thought you went–”
“To Steve’s. Not the assembly.”
“Was Nancy there?”
Lie. “No. I dropped her off at the assembly before going alone. I’m sorry. I should’ve called.” I walked over to her, hearing her take a deep breath.
“Why do you smell like chlorine?” she asked.
“Steve pushed me in the pool,” I explained. “It’s late. Can I sleep? I swear, I’ll explain everything in the morning.”
“Are you two friends again?”
I sighed. “Not exactly.”
~~~
The next morning, Dustin asked that I follow him to the Wheeler house. I guess they had some explaining to do with El. When we got there, Mike launched into his explanation about how El knows Will is in what they’re calling the Upside Down. Dustin, Lucas and Mike all three explained to me that El took their D&D board, flipped it over to show the blackside, or bottom, of the board and put the Demogorgon character piece on it.
“So, Will is in the Upside Down, and he’s running or hiding from the Demogorgon?” I questioned.
“Yes,” El answered.
“We have a plan,” Mike said. “We tell our parents that we have AV club after school. That’ll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood.”
“You seriously think that the weirdo knows where Will is?” Lucas asked.
“Just trust me on this,” Mike said, looking at Lucas. “Did you get the supplies?”
Lucas reached into his bag, pulling out different items and naming them off as he did. “Binoculars… from ‘Nam. Army knife… also from ‘Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana… and the wrist rocket.”
“You’re gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?” Dustin asked.
“First of all, it’s a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon’s not real. It’s made up. But if there is something out there, I’m gonna shoot it in the eye… and blind it.”
“Dustin, what did you get?” Mike asked my brother.
He took his backpack and dumped out a bunch of snacks.
I gasped. “You little shit! You took my Pringles!” I grabbed the can from the table, opening the can to take a crisp out. Popping it into my mouth, I sighed happily.
“We got Nutty Bars–” Dustin started.
“Thank you,” I interrupted, grabbing the pack of Nutty Bars.
“Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana and trail mix.”
“Seriously?” Lucas deadpanned.
“We need energy for our travels, for stamina.”
“And why do you need all these weapons anyway?” I asked, popping another crisp into my mouth.
“We have her,” Dustin added, gesturing towards El.
“She shut one door!” Lucas said.
“With her mind!” Dustin and I answered.
“Are you kidding me?” Dustin continued. “That’s insane!”
“Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do,” I smiled.
Dustin went over to the chair that was sitting beside the couch that El was leaning in. Pulling back a blanket to reveal a Millennium Falcon toy, he said, “I bet she can make this fly!” He picked it up, turning to face the preteen girl. Holding it out, he told her to concentrate before letting go of it, the toy falling straight to the floor. Picking it back up, he wanted to try again, but to no avail.
Running to pick up the toy, Mike told Dustin that El isn’t a dog before Mrs. Wheeler called for the boys, telling them it was time for school. Lucas, Dustin and I raced upstairs while Mike stayed down in the basement with El for a few more moments. When he came outside, we all got on our bikes and pedaled our way to school.
~~~
I was standing at my locker when I noticed Nancy walking up from the corner of my eye. When she reached her own locker, she opened it and went to put her things into it when Steve showed up out of seemingly nowhere, slamming her door the rest of the way open.
“Hey,” he said, smiling. Doing a double take, he looked back at me, smiling. “Hey, Liv.”
Nancy said her hello’s back, albeit with a semi-nervous tone to her voice. I looked at her confused as Steve asked, “Everything okay?” “Yeah!” she answered. “Yeah, totally. I just…” She looked off to the side, looking at everyone as she voiced, “I feel like everyone’s… staring at me.”
“Oh, I didn’t…” Steve said, looking back at me before looking back at Nance. “We didn’t tell anyone.”
“I don’t even know what happened,” I said, grabbing a book from my locker.
“I know,” Nancy said. “I know. Of course not. But what about, like, Tommy and Carol and them?”
“You’re being paranoid,” Steve said.
Looking at Nancy from behind Steve, I said, “I’ll take care of those assholes if they did. Don’t worry about them.”
Nancy looked in between Steve and I for a few seconds before her eyes locked on Steve’s as she said, “I’m sorry.”
“No. No, it’s cute,” Steve said. “Hey. I had a good time.”
“Yeah,” Nance said. “Yeah, me too.”
Steve leaned in towards her and that’s when I checked out for a moment before feeling a couple of taps on my shoulder. I turned my head and watched as Steve walked off to his first class… which, coincidentally, was the same class that I had.
Three classes drug on before it was lunch, and I was hungry! I sat on Steve’s left and started to pick at my meal as Tommy was talking about something I wasn’t paying attention to, but just couldn’t help but listen to.
“That’s why science doesn’t make any damn sense to me,” he said.
“No, I swear, look at this,” Carol said. “It’s totally frostbite.”
“Can’t be,” I said. “You’d have to be in the straight cold with no warmth whatsoever. It was a heated pool.”
She rolled her eyes at me, but I just smiled at her, knowing I was fully correct… maybe.
“Well, then, if it’s not frostbite, then what is it, oh smart one?” she asked.
“I don’t care what it is, it’s disgusting, get it off the table, we’re eating here,” Steve said.
I pushed my tray away, not having an appetite anymore before I noticed Steve pushed his tray closer to me. Even though we weren’t as close as we once were, it was nice that he still remembered certain things. Like, offering some of his lunch because my mom would forget to pack lunch for me or give me lunch money.
“Hey, Tommy,” Nancy said. “When you left, did you see Barb?”
“What?” he asked.
“Barbra,” Nance informed. “She’s not here today.”
“I seriously have no idea who you’re talking about.”
“Don’t be an ass,” I said, agitated with him. “Did you see her leave or not?”
He gave me a death glare, but I held my own as he eyed Steve before replying, “No, she was gone when we left.”
“Probably couldn’t stand listening to all that moaning,” Carol said, her and Tommy faking sexual moans of Steve’s name.
I stood up and grabbed my stuff, saying, “Is there any serious situation that you two don’t reference sex to?” I walked away from the table, and out of the cafeteria, going straight for my locker. I opened it, angrily grabbing at a cigarette before a hand stopped me.
“When did you start smoking?”
I sighed and closed my eyes. “Don’t you have your little minions to tend to?” I looked up at Steve, seeing concern written in his eyes. I sighed again, this time through my nose. “I’m fine. It’s just… hard hearing all that.”
He looked around, before leaning a little closer to me. “You don’t–”
“No, I remember,” I said, my eyes dancing between his own hazel orbs. Vividly. It was something I thought about all the time. I really wished I didn’t, but the memories from that night just wouldn’t stop coming back every time I closed my eyes. “I’ll see you after school, okay?”
I walked away from Steve, cigarette in hand. I went to his car and sat on the hood like I always did and lit the stick. I took a couple puffs, deciding that smoking wasn’t my thing. I guess I had sat out here for longer than I had anticipated because the next thing I knew, everyone was coming out of the school, laughter and chatter filling the air.
I watched as Steve made his way towards me, leaning against the front end of his car and sighed.
“If you’re gonna sit on my car–”
“I have to ask first, I know,” I sighed. I messed with my pants leg for a moment, not wanting to ruin anything.
After a couple of minutes of silence, Steve said, “You don’t have to ask. Just… don’t scuff it.”
We locked eyes for a moment before we both started snickering. Nicole made her way towards us, nervously telling Steve something about Jonathan that put me on high alert. Steve asked me to come with them, so I did, sitting behind Steve on Jonathan’s trunk.
When the oldest Byers boy walked up his car, he looked at Steve, myself, the horndogs Tommy and Carol, and Nicole.
“What’s going on?” Jonathan asked, everyone but me moving towards him.
“Nicole here was telling us about your work,” Steve said.
“We’ve heard great things,” Carol said.
“Yeah, sounds cool,” Tommy said.
Steve looked back at me, but I just shook my head and looked ahead, not liking where this was going. Turning back to Jonathan, he said, “We’d just love to take a look. Ya’know, as… connoisseurs of art.”
I scoffed and looked at my shoes, already knowing where this was headed. But how far was it heading? I couldn’t tell you that.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jonathan said, trying to get to his car.
Tommy quickly snatched his backpack from him, basically being a seventh grade bully.
“Please, give me my bag,” Jonathan pleaded as Tommy tossed the bag to Steve.
Steve turned to face me, saying, “He’s totally trembling. He must really have something to hide.” I had to quickly move my arms out of the way as Steve put the bag on my lap, rummaging through it to find some black and white pictures. He moved to lean on the car so that I could see over his shoulder at the pictures.
What I saw shocked me to my core; all of us. Last night at Steve’s. I looked at Jonathan, who had an almost sad look to his face. I never thought of Jonathan as a creepy stalker. I guess it’s always the quiet ones.
“This isn’t creepy at all,” Carol said.
Jonathan looked me dead in the face and said, “I was looking for my brother.”
My heart softened a little at his words before Steve said, “No. No, this is called stalking.”
A few seconds later, Nancy showed up, asking, “What’s going on?”
“Here’s the starring lady,” Tommy said.
“Don’t you have a shower to go take or something?” I said, animosity to my tone.
“What?” Nancy asked.
“This creep was spying on us last night,” Carol informed. “He was probably gonna save this one for later.” She handed Nancy a photo that I quickly saw a glimpse of; Nancy with her back to the camera, taking off her shirt.
Tapping my knee, Steve said, “See, you can tell that he knows it was wrong, but… that’s the thing about perverts.” He moved closer to Jonathan, fixing his collar. “It’s hardwired into ‘em. Ya’know, they just can’t help themselves.” He ripped up the photo in his hands before tossing the pieces up in Jonathan’s face. “So, you just have to take away his toy.”
“Steve,” I muttered. “Don’t.”
“No, please, not the camera,” Jonathan begged.
Steve looked me in the eyes as Jonathan spoke. I didn’t want to, but the look in his eyes was pleading with me to play along. I knew Steve wasn’t like this; a bully. He was just putting on an act for Tommy and Carol.
I relented and gave him the camera as Tommy moved toward Jonathan to stop him from trying to get his camera from Steve.
“No, no, wait, wait… Tommy, Tommy,” Steve said, handing the camera out to the Byers boy. “Here ya go, man.”
When Jonathan reached out for his camera, Steve dropped it, breaking it. I hopped off the car and shoved his arm back while exclaiming his name. We locked eyes for a moment before I could see the instant regret in his eyes.
“Come on, the game’s about to start.” Steve walked away, the other three following behind as Nancy and I stood in our spots before she bent down to help Jonathan. I started walking towards the group, wanting to get on my bike and ride home.
When I made it to Steve he put his hand on my shoulder, stopping me. “I know you’re angry, but please stay.”
“Angry isn’t the word I’d use,” I said, quietly.
“What word–”
“Disappointed,” I said, looking him in the eyes. “This isn’t the Steve I know, the Steve I grew up with. Where’s that Steve? How do I get him back?” Our eyes danced around each other for a moment before he snapped back to his own version of reality, calling out Nancy’s name.
I rolled my eyes and walked inside, sitting in front of my locker.
~~~
“So, I told Mr. Mundy, the solution of ten plus y equals… blow me,” Carol explained.
“I guess you’re not doing well in math,” I said as Tommy laughed at her.
“If you did that, you’d be in detention right now,” Steve said.
“Saturday,” Carol said.
“I bet Mr. Mundy’s still a virgin,” Tommy voiced.
I was looking down at the paper in my lap when I quietly said, “You sure you’re not still a virgin?” Well, I thought I said it quietly when a pen was launched in my direction. I grabbed it from the ground and smiled. “Sweet. Mine was getting low on ink.”
Nancy walked in front of me, so I followed her with my eyes as Steve said, “Nance, where you going?” Making up a lie on the spot, she stammered, “I totally forgot. I told my mom I would, uhm… I would do something with her.”
Standing, Steve said, “What do you mean? The game’s about to start.”
Not turning back, she said, “I’m sorry.” Turning to face Tommy and Carol before facing me, Steve sighed and asked, “What the hell’s wrong with her?” I shrugged. “Dunno. Haven’t really talked to her much.”
“Maybe she freaked out when you all psycho on the psycho,” Tommy said, laughing.
“Ah, give me a break,” Steve said.
I scoffed, packing up my bag. Standing, I said, “Well, what the hell did you expect, dating Miss Perfect?”
We almost had a little bit of a standoff, Steve and I. But, before it could actually get to that point, I chuckled, looking away for a moment before I started to walk away. I turned back around, looking back at Steve. “Ya’know what? I’m done. When you find my best friend, drop me a line.”
~~~
I was on my way home when I heard sirens, and I immediately thought about Dustin. So, in my haste to try and find him, I started with covering the places I knew he’d probably be at, and when he wasn’t at the Wheeler’s, the Sinclair’s, or our house, I checked one more place; the Byers.
Jonathan wasn’t home, which I couldn’t tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I really wanted to apologize on Steve’s behalf for what he’d done to his camera. When I heard leaves ruffling to my left, I was high alert.
“Oh, my god,” I breathed. Running to my little brother, I gave him a hug, squeezing him. “Don’t ever scare me like that again.”
“Where were you?” Mike asked. “I thought you were coming with us after school?”
“Sorry, something came up. Wait, why are you here?” I looked at all the kids, the last one I spotted being El.
“Here,” she said.
“Yeah, this is the Byers’ house,” I said, crossing my arms.
“Hiding.”
“No, no, this is where he lives,” Mike said. “He’s missing from here. Understand?”
“El,” I said, gaining the girl's attention. “Sweetie, what are you doing here?”
“She said he’s hid–” “Thank you, Michael,” I said, looking at him with wide eyes.
“I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing–” Dustin said.
“That’s exactly what we did!” Lucas exclaimed. “I told you she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about!” Pointing to Dustin and Lucas, I said, “Both of you can calm the hell down.” Looking back at El, I gently asked, “El, why did you bring them here?”
“Liv, don’t waste your time with her,” Lucas said.
“What do you want to do then?” I asked.
“Call the cops–”
“We’re not  calling the cops! I promised Hopper I’d keep you guys from going out last night. We can’t call them!”
“Hey, guys,” Dustin said. I looked behind me, faintly hearing the sirens.
Lucas was going on about something when Dustin yelled, “Guys!” before the cops and ambulances drove by. We all quickly got on our bikes and followed the cars to the quarry. The five of us watched as they turned a body over in the water, the clothes the same exact ones that Will was wearing three nights ago when he went missing.
Tears sprang to my eyes as I put my hand over my mouth. I grabbed Dustin, giving him the tightest hug. I didn’t know what I was going to say to Jonathan in the morning when this all got out.
Mike voiced his opinion on the body not being Will’s and that it couldn’t be until Lucas confirmed that it really was Will. El tried saying Mike’s name, but he freaked out on her, saying that she was supposed to help them find Will alive. In his heartbreak, Mike quickly got on his bike and went back home, leaving El behind.
I told Dustin and Lucas to make sure she got home safely before my little brother asked where I was going. I told him I needed to take care of something before I went home and to not wait up for me.
Setting my bike down at my destination, I knocked on the door and rang the doorbell before taking a moment to breathe.
The doors opened, followed by a very confused voice saying my name. “What are you–?”
“They just found his body,” I cried.
“Whose body?” Steve asked.
“Will, the kid that’s missing. They found him in the quarry,” I sobbed. Before I could fall to my knees, Steve put his arms around me, guiding me inside his house. I didn’t say any information he didn’t already know, which was what everyone else knew.
He offered me some water and a blanket, but I just shook my head at him, wiping my tears away.
Steve understood and led me upstairs to his room, where we both laid together in his bed as I cried like I used to.
In this moment, I really felt like I had my best friend back, but only time will tell.steve harrington x olovia henderson

CHAPTER FOUR: HOLLY, JOLLY
Tumblr media
The next day, we were all sat in Mike's basement. Eleven was sat at the couch with a radio in her hand, while me, Dustin, Mike and Lucas were standing next to it. "We just tell our parents we have AV club after school. That'll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood," Mike told us as we leaned over the table.
"You seriously think that the weirdo knows where Will is?" Lucas asked Mike, not fully convinced.
"Just trust me on this, okay?" he said, hoping that he would understand. Lucas nodded, "Did you get the supplies?" Mike asked the boy across from me.
"Yeah," he said as he looked down at his bag, starting to pull things out. "Binoculars.. from 'Nam. Army knife.. also from 'Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana.. and the wrist rocket!" Lucas put everything that he took out onto the table, which I give him a weird look. Why did he have this stuff??
Dustin looks at him funny, "You're gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?" He gave him a sarcastic and annoyed look.
"First of all, it's a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon's not real. It's made up. But if there is something out there, I'm gonna shoot it in the eye.." Lucas stated annoyed before snapping the slingshot, which made me and Dustin jump. "—and blind it."
Mike sighs, "Dustin, Y/n, what did you get?" Dustin smiles before taking his backpack and dumping out all the things he collected from our house. I didn't know what he got, but I only got a few things, which were weapons.
"Well, alrighty. So we've got.. Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix. Oh! And Y/n's favorite, chocolate pudding," Dustin told us, which made us all sigh. Yes, it wasn't the best things in the world, but food is necessary and I love chocolate pudding.
"Seriously?" Lucas deadpanned.
"We need energy for our travels. For stamina. And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have her," Dustin explained, pointing to the girl on the couch.
We all look at her, "She shut one door!" Lucas yelled, not liking the poor girl who looked up.
"With her mind! Are you kidding me? That's insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do. Like.." Dustin exclaimed excitedly to Lucas, who was annoyed. To be honest, I agree with Dustin. Not just because he's my brother, but because he's right. If she can shut a door with her mind, she can do anything. Dustin walked away and picked something up, "I bet.. that she could make this fly!" He then walked in front of El, "Hey. Okay, concentrate. Okay?" The toy drops to the ground with a thud. I face palm at my idiotic brother. Just because she can, doesn't mean she's going to do it. He picks it up again, "Okay, one more time. Okay. Use your powers, okay?" Anddd it dropped to the floor again.
"Idiot," Lucas and I mumble.
Mike rolls his eyes and storms over there, picking up the toy from the ground, "She's not a dog!"
"Boys! Y/n! Time for school!" we hear Mrs. Wheeler holler from the top of the stairs. We all grab our backpacks and head up the stairs.
As we walk through the kitchen, I see Mrs. Wheeler, "Bye, Mrs. Wheeler!" I wave and give her a smile, which she returns.
"Bye, Y/n!" she exclaims as we walk out the door.
"Need a ride today, Dust?" I ask my little brother as we walk outside. "I can give you all a ride if you want," I tell Lucas, seeing that Mike wasn't outside yet.
"No, its okay. Thank you though, Y/n/n," Dustin replied with a smile. I nodded before opening my car door and hopping in. Welp, today's going to be interesting..
———
After getting to school, I opened my locker and started getting the books I needed. I was hoping that I could get my stuff and leave my locker before Nancy got here because I really don't want to face Steve and his idiotic friends. Because wherever Nancy Wheeler is, Steve Harrington is there too.
Unfortunately for me though, Nancy walked up to her locker next to mine with her head down. I gave her a questioning look, wondering why she seemed upset. This is okay, I thought to myself. Steve isn't with her, so everything's good for now. Well, until I heard the douche's voice come up from beside Nancy and slam her locker shut. "Hey," he said calmly to the girl, who was startled from the slam. I just about jumped out of my skin when he did and I almost pissed myself.
"Hey!" she laughed nervously.
"Is everything okay?" he asked her, seeming a bit worried. Huh, that's new; Steve Harrington being worried about someone.
"Yeah. Yeah, totally.. I just.. I feel like everyone's staring at me," she said to the boy, feeling anxious and paranoid. She looked around at everyone in the hallway, thinking that they were staring at her. Why would they be staring? I thought to myself, feeling kind of confused as to why Nancy Wheeler is worried about people staring at her.
"Oh, I didn't.. I didn't tell anyone," Steve spoke, which made me think of the only possible thing that would make her so paranoid, but I might be wrong.
"I know. I know. Of course not. But what about like.. Tommy and Carol?" she reassured him. I got all the book I needed, but I'm intrigued now. Yeah, it's wrong to eavesdrop, but my curious mind can't help it.. and they're literally right next to me.
Steve chuckles lightly, "You're being paranoid."
She looks down and smiles, "I'm sorry."
"No, no, it's cute," he tells her, making her look up and smile. "I had a good time," he spoke, which gave me the answer. I was right, Nancy and Steve fucked last night. Cool! I couldn't care less what they do.
"Yeah. Me too," she says before Steve leans in to kiss her. Their lips connect, making me roll my eyes and groan.
"Gross," I mumble to myself, wondering what I'm still doing here. Steve chuckles and looks at her decorated locker door before leaving. She sheepishly smiles and looks down. I poke her on the back, "Alright Wheeler, since when did you break the rules?" I give her a smirk as she quickly spins towards me.
"I-uh," she stuttered and smiled to herself. I do the same and gently punch her on her arm.
"Just be careful, okay?" I tell her, not wanting my old friend to get hurt by one of the biggest douches in the school.
She nods, "Y'know.. We should hang out again sometime." My eyes widen, not expecting the now-popular girl in front of me.
Now it was my turn to stutter, "Uh, yeah—yeah sure. I would love that." She smiles and nods before I close my locker, books in hand. "See ya, Wheeler," I say before turning around to go to my class. Well that wasn't what I was expecting.
———
After school, I was walking to my car but then spotted Jonathan, which made my eyes light up. "Jonathan!" I exclaim, running over to him as he leaves the school. He turns to me as I catch up.
"Oh, hey Y/n," he says in a rush; almost like he just wanted to leave. We walked to the parking lot together in silence. I wonder what's up with him? As we're walking, I spot Steve and his stupid friends sitting on Jonathan's car. I roll my eyes and keep walking, but Steve got off his car and walked towards me and Jonathan.
"Hey, man," Steve said to Jonathan, making us both stop.
"What's going on?" my best friend asked the four, the other girl being one of the girls in Jonathan's photography class.
"Nicole here was uh, telling us about your work," Steve said blankly. I raise my eyebrow, wondering what the hell he was talking about.
"We've heard great things," Carol said sarcastically, making me roll my eyes. "Yeah, sounds cool," Tommy spat.
"And we'd just love to take a look. Y'know, as.. connoisseurs of art," Steve said annoyed at the boy. I want him to get to the damn point.
Jonathan sighs, "I don't know what you're talking about." He says before trying to get into his car. Yes, I can leave, but my curiosity gets the better of me and I want to know why Steve and his jerk friends are after my friend. Tommy takes his backpack before he could get in and Carol holds him back. "Please, give me my bag," Jonathan pleaded the jerks.
"What the hell, Steve?" I say frustratedly to the guy in front of me.
He ignores me, "Man, he is totally trembling. He must really have something to hide.." He unzips Jonathan's backpack before dumping his things out of the back of his car. "Ah.. Here we go," Steve says as he turns around with pictures in his hands. "Oh man.." He flips through the pictures, making me furious. How could someone just look through someone else's things?
"Let me see," Tommy said before snatching on from Steve. "Dude."
Carol scoffs, "Yeah, this isn't creepy at all.."
I scoff as well and look at Jonathan, "Jonathan, what the hell is going on?" He ignores me and tries to speak up, but I interrupt him, "Don't ignore me!"
He sighs, "I was looking for my brother.." He tries to reason with the jerks, which still didn't give me an answer.
"No. No, this is called stalking," Steve spats back, which makes me antsy. "And Y/n—" he starts, but got interrupted by Nancy walking over.
"What's going on?" she asks as we all look at her direction.
"Here's the other starring lady," Tommy says as she looks over to me and Jonathan confused. Trust me, I'm just as confused as she is.
"This creep was spying on us last night," Carol spoke, making my eyes widen. Jonathan wouldn't do that.. "And I bet he was saving this one for later." She holds out a picture to Nancy.
"I'm so confused," I say, not understanding what was going on. Steve sighs and walks towards me.
I raise my eyebrow as he speaks up and hands me a picture, "Did you not notice someone following you home last night?" I give him a weird look, taking the picture from his hands. I look at it; it was a picture of me getting on my bike to leave Steve's house.
Me and Nancy look up to Jonathan in betrayal and shock, "What the fuck, Jonathan?! Were you following me last night?" I didn't want to believe it, I hoped he would say he just took the picture on accident, but no. All he did was look down in shame.
Steve clicks his tongue, "See, you can tell that he knows it was wrong, but.. man that's the thing about perverts.. It's hardwired into 'em. Y'know, they just can't help themselves." He puts a hand on Jonathan's shoulder as he looked up to him. Steve began to rip the pictures in his hands, "So.." He tossed the now-ripped pictures in the air, "we'll just have to take away his toy."
"Steve.." Nancy said as the said guy walks over to Jonathan's stuff.
"No, please, not the camera," Jonathan pleaded. Yes, I'm mad at him—furious, actually. But cameras are really expensive, and Joyce is already going through some tough times with money already, so I could only feel remorse for Jonathan. He tried to get to his stuff but Tommy held him back.
"No, no, wait, wait.. Tommy, Tommy," Steve stops Tommy from doing anything, which he only chuckles. "It's okay. Here you go, man," Steve says as he holds out the camera to Jonathan.
"Steve, wait—" I start, but I get interrupted by Steve dropping the camera, making it shatter. Tommy starts to laugh as we all stare down at the camera. Like I said, I don't really like Jonathan too much right now, but that was cold. Very cold.
"Come on, let's go. The game's about to start," Steve said before walking alway, his jerk friends following after him. Jonathan was quick to gather everything that was on the ground before they blew away. Me and Nancy stood there before she knelt down and saw a picture. "Hey, Nance! Come on!" Steve yelled to his girlfriend, which made her look up and quickly collect some pieces of a picture. She stuffed them into her bag before getting up and leaving. Jonathan watched her leave with a sigh. Now it was my turn.
I sigh and he looks up to me, "I'm sorry about your camera. Bye, Byers." I walk off to my car feeling betrayed. Why would he do that? I mean, I get that he was looking for Will, but come on? Taking photos of us from the woods? I sigh as I get to my car and get inside. Now I have to go help the boys' with finding Will.
———
After going home and getting my bike, the boys and I are at the place where Mike told El to meet us. "El!" Mike says to the zoned-out girl. "You okay?" he asked her, which she turned towards us and nodded. Mike patted a spot on his bike, motioning her to get on. "Hop on. We only have a few hours." She nodded and got onto his bike before we all start to peddle.
A little while later, we found ourselves in the woods, pushing our bikes along the red and orange leaves. "Why did they hurt you?" El asked the boy and pointed to his chin.
"What? Oh, that. Uh.. I just fell at recess," Mike stated, which I didn't believe one bit. I was bullied in school too, and I know that was just some dumb excuse.
"Michael, don't lie. Did someone hurt you?" I ask sternly. No one is going to hurt one of my kids.
He sighed and El spoke up, "Mike.."
He looked at her, "What?"
"Friends tell the truth," she said, agreeing with me.
Mike sighs, "I was tripped by this mouth breather, Troy, okay?" I felt anger bubble up. Like I said, No one messes or hurts with my kids.
"Mouth breather?" El asks innocently.
"Yeah, y'know.. a dumb person. A knucklehead," Mike tells her, which I back off. Yes, I want to know more about this 'Troy' guy, but this is their conversation, and I've listened to enough conversations that don't involve me today. I slowed down and started to walk with Dustin and Lucas, not paying attention to what the kid's are saying.
———
A couple of hours later, it was finally dark and we were almost to the place El is taking us. But as we get closer, things are starting to look a lot more familiar. I didn't think about it too much until we got to our destination. It was Will's house? "Here," El said, stopping in front of Mike. Lucas, Dustin and I all looked at each other weirdly, not understanding why we're at Will's house.
"Yeah, this is where Will lives?" Mike questions the girl.
"Hiding," she says, making us all sigh.
"No, no. This is where he lives. He's missing from here. Understand?" Mike said to the girl as me and the boys drop our bikes and walk up to the two.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas asked, annoyed as to why we're at the one place y know Will isn't. To be honest, I'm kind of annoyed myself, but I'm not going to show it because I want El to be comfortable with me, not intimidated or scared of me.
"She said he's hiding here," Mike points out, only making the boy next to me even more frustrated.
"Um.. no!" Lucas exclaimed.
"I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing—" Dustin said. He seemed frustrated and I nodded along with him.
"That's exactly what we did. I told you she didn't know what the hell she was talking about!" Lucas yelled and pointed at the scared girl. I put a hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down.
I sigh frustratedly as I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Yeah, I'm sorry Mike, but Will definitely isn't here."
He stared at us before turning around to El, "Why did you bring us here?" He asked the girl, only for her to stammer in response. I felt bad for the girl, she was just trying to help and now she's being yelled at.
"Mike, don't waste your time with her," Lucas stated and rolled his eyes.
"What do you want to do then?" Mike argued back. I take my hand off of Lucas' shoulder and walk over to the girl. I put my hand on her shoulder and give her a reassuring smile.
"Call the cops, like we should have done yesterday," Lucas retorted.
"We are not calling the cops!" Mike exclaims at the boy.
"Hey, guys?" Dustin says and looks past me. I give him a questioning look before turning towards his line of sight. My eyes widen at what he's looking at.
"What other choice do we have?" Lucas asked frustratedly.
"Guys!" I yell at the arguing idiots behind me. They look towards me in confusion as me and Dustin stare at what we're seeing. Sirens echo loudly through the road as multiple police cars and ambulances zoom down the street.
"Will.." Mike mutters as we all turn around and run to our bikes. We quickly get onto them and peddle fast to follow the emergency vehicles.
We were peddling so fast I felt my calves burn and ache, yelling at me to stop but I didn't. I kept going and started peddling faster. No one hurts my kids. Still following the cop cars, we biked through the woods, heading towards the lake.
Finally, we get to the lake and park our bikes behind a fire truck. I get off of mine as soon as I stopped it, bolting to the truck to see what was going on. The kids run after me and we all peek our heads out from the side of the truck. I squinted my eyes to get a better look, only to see a small body being pulled out of the water. "It's not Will. It can't be," Mike says, not believing what we're seeing.
The guys pull the body out of the water, "It's Will. It's really Will." Lucas says sadly, not wanting to believe it, but it was Will.
I stared in shock, "No, no, this can't be happening.. No, it's not Will. It's not him, it's someone else.." I try to reassure myself so I don't start crying. But I can't. I can't lose him too..
"Mike.." El starts, trying to reach out to him.
He slaps her hand away, "'Mike'? 'Mike,' what? You were supposed to help us find him alive. You said he was alive! Why did you lie to us? What's wrong with you? What is wrong with you?" He says sternly to the girl, who had tears welling up in her eyes.
"Mike.." she says softly.
"What?" he asks her sternly, motioning for her to continue. When she doesn't answer, he scoffs and walks away.
"Mike, come on. Don't do this, man. Mike," Lucas says to the boy, who ignores him.
"Mike, where are you going? Mike!" Dustin questions him, but he ignores him too while getting on his bike. Dustin wraps his arm around my waist and brings me closer to him. A tear runs down my cheek as I watch him peddle away. The sound of the sirens filling my ears, reminding me of what happened last year. I already lost Jen, I cant lose Will too.
No one—absolutely no one hurts my kids.

veldinstar asked: 🔥 / for any fandom you're currently in! ; Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
i've personally always liked South Park for the past few years i've known about it (and officially getting into it like, 8~ years later), but from one of my opinions i stated, South Park is one of the fandoms that is a major victim to the whole abandoning good writing for LGBTQ+ rep and character archetypes.
i think a lot of people fail to remember that while the show actually brings decent representation (in a satirical way), it's still satirical - a lot of it is making fun of everyone and anyone. i've seen people take the character sheets seriously from TFBW where they list the sexualities and gender identities and take this as literal fucking fact for the characters. like, it's not canon, and it never was! that's only for their superhero alter egos!
same goes for ships and characters in general. i've seen people perceive Tweek as a weak blonde boy with no ways to protect himself and only relying on Craig, and i have to ask: did we watch the same fucking show? does ANYONE remember how he had an Entire Fucking Bazooka at Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and was going to shoot it unless he got his friends back???
Tumblr media
or, here's another one that makes me go crazy: Kyle being perceived as weak and emotional! he can be considered emotional for his rage, but he gets egged on by Cartman every day of the fucking week for being Jewish and being from Jersey, among a NUMBER of things. and you consider this kid, who i should consider as one of THE strongest boys in the entire town, weak? who has singlehandedly thrown hands to Cartman every time he fucks with him? nobody? nobody at all?
Tumblr media
i could give off so many examples but i'm gonna nail it at these two specific ones because holy shit, this fandom should not have as many children in it as it should. like, there's a reason why this show is M-rated; you should not be complaining when a show is blatantly offensive when it's like that to make fun of everybody. you chose to watch this show, you're going to get what you asked for.

Stranger Things Series Rewrite; Season 1, Episode 3
Tumblr media
A/N: I, of course, do not own anything from or related to Stranger Things. Scenes, events, and dialogue are taken from the show; I am not trying to take credit for the work that the writers for this show did. Some scenes may be left out if I cannot find a way to work the reader in as a character.
Warnings for the whole series: Violence, Gore, Profanity, Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking, Frightening Scenes, some canon divergence
“So, now I’m stuck babysitting another kid and this one had superpowers?” I mutter to myself, watching El move around the basement with the boys.
El picks up one of the D&D miniatures, the wizard. “Will.”
“Did you see him? On Mirkwood? Do you know where he is?” Mike questions.
El quickly sweeps the D&D board clear, flipping it over so the black underside is facing up. She places the wizard in the center. “Hiding.”
“Will is hiding?” I speak up from the stairs, watching as El nods. “From the bad men?” She shakes her head this time. “Then from who?”
El grabs another miniature and sets it on the board.
I stare in shock at it.
The Demogorgon.
----------------------------------------
“We just… tell our parents we have AV Club after school.” Mike shrugs. “That’ll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood.”
“You seriously think the weirdo knows where Will is?” Lucas glances at El.
“Lucas, just trust Mike on this one. Okay?” I sigh.
“Did you get the supplies?” Mike asks, watching as Lucas starts to pull items out of his backpack.
“And finally… the wrist rocket!” Lucas beams, pulling the slingshot out last.
“You’re gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?” Dustin and I ask in unison.
“First of all, it's a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon’s not real.” Lucas argues.
“Dustin, what did you get?” Mike turns his attention to the other boy.
Dustin grins, dumping the contents of his bag onto the table. “Well, alrighty. So we’ve got… Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix.”
“Seriously?” Lucas frowns.
“We need energy for our travels. For our stamina.” Dustin argues. “And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have her!” He gestures to El.
“She shut one door!” Lucas huffs.
“With her mind!” Dustin whines. “Are you kidding me? That’s insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do!” He grins. “Plus, you know… we have Y/N.” He glances at me. “She’s pretty handy with a baseball bat.”
“Not to brag, but D is right.” I stand up from the stairs. “We’re more than covered for whatever we encounter out there.”
-----------------------------
I pant, jogging after the boys on their bikes as El leads the way. I slow to a walk, looking ahead at the Byers' house.
“Here.” El turns to look at Mike.
“Yeah, this is where Will lives.” Mike glances at the house.
“Hiding.” El whispers.
“No, no, this is where he lives.” I move closer to the younger girl. “He’s missing from here. Understand?”
“What are we doing here?” Lucas sighs.
“She said he’s hiding here,” Mike murmurs.
“Um… no!” Lucas frowns.
“I swear if we biked all the way out here for nothing--” Dustin starts.
“That’s exactly what we did! I told you she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about!” Lucas shouts angrily.
“El, why did you bring us here?” I ask gently.
“Y/N, don’t waste your time with her.” Lucas groans.
“What do you want to do then?” I snap at him. “Will is missing! I can’t- we can’t… You boys are like my kids…” I mutter. “One of you is missing, I need to find him.”
-----------------------------------------
I sprint down the hill, following the sound of police sirens. Skidding to a halt behind a firetruck, I peek out at the crowd.
Dustin grabs my arm, peeking around me as Lucas, Mike, and El gather around to watch as the crowd starts to pull something out of the water.
“It’s not Will…” I whisper. “It can’t be.”
“It’s Will.” Lucas’ voice is thick with tears. “It’s really Will.”
“Boys, it’s time to go…” I whisper, ushering them back to their bikes.
-----------------------------------
The car is silent as I drive, glancing at Dustin every so often.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay tonight?” Dustin whispers, crying softly.
I nod, wiping my eyes with the cuff of my jean jacket. “I need some time to process, D,” I whisper. “We all do. I just need a couple of days.”
Dustin nods, quickly leaning across the seat to hug me around the middle. He hiccups, crying into my jacket.
I reach down, cupping the back of his head with my hand. I slowly stop the car in front of Dustin’s house, pulling him into a tight hug. “I’ve got you, D.” I whisper, rubbing his back.
He sniffles, leaning into me. “I’ve got you too, Y/N.”
I smile sadly, gently flicking the brim of his hat. “Always?”
“And forever.” Dustin answers, sliding out of the car.
----------------------------------
I sigh, exhaling smoke as I tip my head back. “How the fuck am I supposed to process this?” I mutter. I mean, Will was like… those boys are everything to me.”
“You’re not alone, sweetheart,” Eddie whispers, holding me in his lap. “You have Mike, Lucas, and Dustin… and me.”
I sigh, nodding my head. “Yeah, I know. It's just… it's Will… I can’t even imagine how Joyce and Jonathan are feeling right now.”
Eddie presses a kiss to my temple, holding me close. “We’ll stop by tomorrow and see if we can help out, yeah? Let’s just rest for now.”
“Yeah… okay…” I whisper, laying my head against his chest.

Five - Chapter 3
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sitting on the couch, Eleven is fiddling with the SuperComm and Five - who was settled on the floor beside her bed / fort - draws her knees to her, staring off into the distance.
Dustin, seemingly sensing Five’s distress, walks over and sits beside the girl.
Five looks over at the boy, blinking with surprise.
“Are you okay?” Dustin asks, watching as Five’s fingers drum against her knees.
Five looks over again and (E/c) and dark brown meet. Five smiles and nods. “Yeah, I’m okay,” she replies.
Dustin smiles in return, and Five tilts her head. “I have Cleidocranial dysplasia,” Dustin says and Five’s eyes widen at the complexity of the word. “It’s a disorder that affects how my teeth and bones grow. I don’t have collar bones.”
Five reaches over, poking Dustin’s shoulder. The boy laughs and Five smiles again.
After a moment, Dustin gets to his feet and walks over to Mike and Lucas.
“Just tell your parents you have AV club. That’ll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood,” Mike tells his friends.
“You seriously think that the weirdo knows where Will is?” Lucas asks, glancing at Eleven.
“Just trust me on this, okay?” Mike replies.
“Okay,” Lucas sighs.
“Did you get the supplies?” Mike asks.
“Yeah,” the boys reply.
“Binoculars . . . from ‘Nam,” Lucas says, pulling a pair of binoculars from his backpack. “Army knife . . . also from ‘Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana . . .” he pulls the items from his bag, “And the wrist rocket.”
“You’re gonna take out the demogorgon with a slingshot?” Dustin asks.
“First of all, it’s a wrist rocket,” Lucas says. “And second of all, the Demogorgon’s not real. It’s made up. But if there is something out there, I’m gonna shoot it in the eye . . .” Lucas grips the sling of the wrist rocket, pulling it back, and letting the rubber slap against the sleeve of his jacket at its release, “. . . and blind it.”
Mike sighs. “Dustin, what did you get?”
Dustin grins, grabbing his bag and spilling out the contents. “Well, alrighty,” Dustin says. “So, we’ve got . . . Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix.”
“Seriously?” Lucas says, looking at his friend.
“We need energy for our travels. For stamina,” Dustin argues. “And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have them.”
“She,” Lucas gestures to Eleven, “shut one door! And she,” he gestures to Five, who looks up, meeting Lucas’s gaze with her own, “turned into a dog!”
“She closed the door with her mind! That’s insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do,” Dustin walks over, lifting Mike’s toy Millenium Falcon. “I bet . . . that she could make this fly. Hey. Hey.” He says and Eleven lifts her gaze from the SuperComm in her hand to the ship in Dustin’s. “Okay, concentrate. Okay?” he drops the ship. “Okay. Okay, one more time,” He picks up the ship again, and Eleven raises an eyebrow. He holds out the ship, and drops it, hitting the ground. Five smiles amusedly, and a laugh escapes her lips.
“She’s not a dog,” Mike says, picking the Millenium Falcon off the floor.
“Boys!” Mrs. Wheeler calls down from the top of the stairs. “Time for school!”
The boys scramble, grabbing their backpacks; Dustin and Lucas rush up the stairs.
“Just stay down here,” Mike tells the two girls. “Don’t make any noise, and don’t leave. If you guys get hungry, you can eat Dustin’s snacks.”
“Michael!” Mrs. Wheeler calls.
“Coming!” Mike replies. “You know those power lines?” Mike asks.
“Power lines?” Eleven asks.
“The ones behind my house?”
“Yes,” Eleven says after a moment.
“Meet us there, after school,” MIke says.
“After school?” Eleven echoes.
“At 3:15,” Mike says. “Three, One, Five,” Mike removes his digital watch, holding it out to Eleven.
Then, he darts up the stairs, his backpack swinging from his hand.
. . .
A little later, Five is watching her levitate Mike’s ship while she takes a bite from the apple.
Eleven turns her gaze away from the ship, and it drops to the floor.
Five chuckles and Eleven looks over, smiling at her sister.
“La-Z-Boy,” Eleven says.
“Okay,” Five says, getting to her feet and following Eleven up the stairs.
Eleven heads to the La-Z-Boy while Five walks over to the mantle, taking a closer look at the pictures there.
One photo catches her eyes. A young boy with a bowl cut and hazel eyes - Will, what she guessed was a young Mike, and a girl. It wasn’t Will or Mike that had caught her attention, but the girl. The girl had long (H/c) hair, and (E/c) eyes. The girl looked a little like Will - they had a similar nose and mouth shape - and Five wonders if they Will and the girl were related.
Eleven looks over at her sister’s silence, then walking over and placing a hand on her shoulder.
Five jumps, relaxing when she realizes El had been the one to touch her.
“Okay?” Eleven asks and Five smiles softly.
Five nods. “I’m okay,” she replies, though she was slightly unsettled.
. . .
Eleven and Five head outside towards the powerlines. Five, disguised as a golden retriever, trots beside Eleven.
“Three-one-five,” Eleven murmurs, pacing back and forth.
A cat meows and Eleven looks up from the watch.
The cat hisses as it tries to pull its paw out from the fence. Then, the cat turns his head to hiss at Five.
Looking around for people, Five shifts back to herself when she sees no one.
Eleven stares at the cat, though, Five, looking up at her sister, can tell that Eleven is lost in a memory.
Five focuses back on the cat, taking its paw and guiding it out of the fence.
The cat purrs softly, touching FIve’s hand with his nose.
Five pets the cat’s head before turning back to her sister. “Eleven?” she walks over, resting a hand on her sister’s shoulder and squeezing gently.
Eleven snaps from her memory, fixing her gaze on her sister. “I -” her voice quavers and Five wraps her sister in a tight hug.
Eleven tenses in the hug, but relaxes after a moment, returning the hug.
The sisters pull away after a moment.
Looking around again, Five shifts back into the golden retriever.
“El!” Mike yells, getting the girls’ attention.
Turning around, Five and Eleven watch the three boys wheel their bikes up the hill.
“You guys okay?” Mike asks, panting slightly from the weight of his bike.
Eleven nods and Five sits down beside her sister, her fluffy golden tail wagging behind her.
“Hop on,” Mike says, he and his friends turn their bikes around. He pats the seat behind his on the bike. “We only have a few hours.”
Eleven walks to the bike, jumping up behind Mike.
Neither Lucas or Dustin had a bike like Mike’s, leaving Five to run beside the boys’ bikes. Thankfully, the boys had slowed down a little, making it easier for her to keep up.
. . .
The boys are walking their bikes up a hill, and Five finally shifts back to herself. She reaches a hand up to swipe the blood away from under her nose.
Dustin shrugs his backpack off a shoulder and he pulls out a bottle of water. He hands it to the girl walking between him and Lucas.
“Thank you,” Five replies, smiling over at the boy. She unscrews the cap and takes a sip of the water.
“So,” Lucas says, and Five screws the cap of the bottle back on.
“So,” Five echoes, smiling at the boy.
“Can you only turn into dogs?” Lucas asks.
Five shakes her head. “I can only change into-” she pauses, searching for the correct word, “- mammals. I think that is the correct word.” She glances over at Dustin, who nods. “I can do cats, dogs, wolves, bears,” Five replies. “I have powers like my sister,” she adds. “But I can only piggyback.”
Lucas tilts his head. “Piggyback?” he echoes.
“I can enter people’s minds,” Five replies. “Radio or TV static. Or a tub.”
Lucas raises an eyebrow but he remains silent.
. . .
Eleven leads the boys and Five to a house just outside the woods.
Five studies the house, wondering if she’d been her before. It seemed familiar.
“Here,” Eleven says, turning to face Mike.
“Yeah, this is where Will lives,” Mike replies, glancing between the house and Eleven.
“Hiding,” Eleven argues.
“No, no, this is where he lives,” Mike replies. “He’s missing from here. Understand?”
“What are we doing here?” Lucas asks.
“She said he’s hiding here,” Mike tells them.
“Um . . . no!” Lucas replies.
Five shifts into a Newfoundland, lowers her nose to the ground, and sniffing for the scent of anything.
“I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing -” Dustin says.
“That’s exactly what we did,” Lucas replies. “I told you she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about!” he yells.
Eleven shinks into the oversized jacket she was wearing, and Five whimpers at the boy’s harsh tone.
“Why did you bring us here?” Mike asks Eleven.
“Mike, don’t waste your time with her,” Lucas tells his friend.
“What do you want us to do then?” Mike asks Lucas.
“Call the cops like we should’ve done yesterday!” Lucas yells.
“We are not calling the cops!” Mike replies.
Dustin’s distracted when Five’s ears perk and she shifts her weight nervously on her paws. “Hey guys?” Dustin says.
“What other choice do we have?” Lucas asks Mike, ignoring Dustin.
“Guys!” Dustin calls, finally getting the others’ attention.
The wail of sirens makes the others freeze, but Five breaks into a run, the boys and Eleven running after her.
Once they are out of the grass, the boys and Eleven jump onto the bikes, but Five is still faster, bolting down the road after the ambulance.
“Oh, Jesus,” Hopper gets out of his truck. The police chief pushes through to stand behind the firefighters. “Oh, God. Please tell me it’s not the kid.”
Five splashes into the water below the quarry; paddling over to the rescuers that were laying the body on a water stretcher. Five uses her large head to begin to push the stretcher to the land where more emergency responders wait to pull the stretcher out of the water.
Eleven and the boys toss their bikes down to peer around one of the firetrucks.
Hopper breathes heavily as the boy’s body floats towards the shore. Catching sight of the boy, Hopper tenses before he turns around and walks back towards his truck.
“It’s not Will. It’s can’t be,” Mike says softly.
The stretcher reaches the shore and Five’s fur is sopping wet. She resists the urge to shake the water from her fur, not wanting to drench the officers any more than they already were.
“It’s Will,” Lucas murmurs. “It’s really Will.”
Five fixes her gaze on the boy. She steps forward, sniffing at the body. She quirks her head.
“Mike . . .” Eleven says, her voice quavering. She reaches out an arm and Mike slaps her. Eleven flinches, taking a step back, looking wide eyed at the boy.
“‘Mike,’” Mike echoes. “‘Mike,’ what?” Mike snaps. “You were supposed to help us find him alive,” he pokes Eleven in the chest. “You said he was alive! Why did you lie to us?” Eleven’s eyes are still wide. “What’s wrong with you?!” Mike shouts. “What’s wrong with you?!”
“Mike . . .” Eleven says softly, a tear trickling down her cheeks.
“What?” Mike snaps.
“Mike, come on,” Lucas says, tears sliding down his cheeks. “Don’t do this, man. Mike.”
“Mike, where are you going?” Dustin asks. “Mike!” he yells.
Mike picks up his bike and hops on, pedaling away.
Five steps farther away from the officers, shaking the water from her fur. When she steps around the corner of the firetruck, out of sight of the emergency workers, and she shifts back into herself. Blood was pouring out of both of her nostrils and she swipes the blood away, but it continues to pour.

Chapter 1.3 Holly Jolly
Series Masterlist
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"We just tell our parents we have AV Club after school. That'll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood."
"You seriously think that the weirdo knows where Will is?" Lucas was gathered around the table with Dustin and Mike. You were sitting next to El on the couch as she played with Mike's super-comm.
"Just trust me on this, okay?"
"Okay."
"Did you get the supplies?"
"Yeah." Lucas put his backpack on the table. Binoculars... from 'Nam. Army knife... also from 'Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana...and the wrist rocket."
You giggled as El leaned into you, as she continued to play with the super-comm. Dustin raised an eyebrow at Lucas. "You're gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?"
"First of all, it's a wrist rocket and second of all, the Demogorgon's not real. It's made up. But if there is something out there, I'm gonna shoot it in the eye and blind it."
"Well, I say that we definitely can't rule out the Demogorgon existing. I mean, El has powers."
Mike nodded at you, giving you a small smile. "Dustin, what did you get?"
"Well, alrighty. So, we've got...Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix." You let out a laugh at Mike and Lucas's expression, wrapping an arm around El as your laughter brought a smile to her face.
"Seriously?"
"We need energy for our travels. For stamina. And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have her." Dustin gestured to El.
"She shut one door!"
"With her mind! Are you kidding me? That's insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do. Like..." Dustin picked up the toy Millenium Falcon and held it out towards El. You stifled a giggle. "I bet... that she could make this fly! Hey, hey. Okay, concentrate, Okay?" Dustin dropped the toy and it fell to the ground. You giggled. El looked at you and smiled again. Dustin picked up the Millenium Falcon again. "Okay, one more time. Okay? Use your powers." He dropped it again. You laughed again.
"Idiot."
"She's not a dog." Mike turned to you. "What did you bring?"
You reached for the other backpack you brought, but Mrs. Wheeler called down first. "Y/n and boys! Time for school!"
You got up from the couch. El's hand reached for yours and she grabbed it, looking up at you. You turned back to her. "I'll be back, I promise." Mike joined you at your side.
"Just stay down here. Don't make any noise, and don't leave. If you get hungry, eat Dustin's snacks, okay?"
"Michael!"
"Coming." He yelled at his mom before turning back to El. "You know those power lines?"
"Power lines?"
You squeezed her hands. "The ones that are behind Mike's house."
"Yes."
"Meet us there, after school."
"After school."
"Yeah, 3:15." El looked confused. You gave Mike a look. "Ah." He took his watch off and handed it to El. She looked at it confusedly before you put it on her wrist. "When the numbers read three-one-five, meet us there."
"Three-one-five."
You squeezed El's hand again. "Yep, three-one-five. That's when we'll see you again. Ok?"
She held tightly to your hand before letting go. "Ok." You smiled at her before following Mike up the stairs.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You and the boys were looking for rocks for Lucas's wrist rocket. Mike picked one up. "How about this one?"
"Too big for the sling?"
"So, do you think Eleven was born with her powers, like the X-Men, or do you think she acquired them, like... like Green Lantern?"
"Wait, that's a good question, how did she get them?" You started to think about Dustin's question.
"She's not a superhero. She's a weirdo."
"Why does that matter? The X-men are weirdos."
"Yeah," You agreed with Mike. "And so are we."
"Of course you two agree, why don't you just get married already?" You narrowed your eyes at Lucas.
"Nope, definitely not." You looked gratefully at Dustin before he continued. "Haven't you seen Y/n and Will? Those two are definitely made for each other. Now, Mike and El." Lucas and Dustin looked at each other while nodding.
"Just shut up, you two." You groaned, face burning.
"What are you talking about?" You gave Mike a 'seriously?' look as Lucas voiced your thoughts.
"Mike, seriously?"
"What?"
"Well first off, you and Y/n are pretty close, but she and Will are closer; so that's out." You glared at Dustin and he gulped. Lucas continued.
"Anyway, you look at El all, like 'Hi El! El! El! El! I love you so much! Would you marry me?"
Mike had an unreadable look on his face. "Shut up, Lucas."
"Yeah, shut up, Lucas." It was Troy, you stiffened as he approached with James. "What are you losers doing back here?"
"Probably looking for their missing friend." James laughed.
"That's not funny. It's serious, he's in danger." Dustin tried to stand up to them.
"I hate to break it to you, Toothless, but he's not in danger. He's dead. That's what my dad says. He said he was probably killed by some other queer." Troy and James laughed.
"Hey, at least show some respect." They both turned to look at you. "Whether or not you like Will, at least-" Troy stepped forward and you tried to step back, but he grabbed your arm.
"I think that you should shut up. You don't tell me what to do, understand." You glared at him and he tightened his grip. "Understand?" You nodded in pain and he let go. You rubbed your arm as you glared at Troy.
"Come on, just ignore them." You reluctantly listened to Mike and stepped back. Mike started to walk away; but Troy tripped him, making him fall and hit his chin. Troy and James laughed.
"Watch where you're going, Frogface." They laughed and walked away. You flipped them off as you went to help Mike up.
"You all right?"
Mike sighed. "Yeah."
Dustin picked up a rock. "Hey, how about this one?"
Mike chuckled. "Yeah."
You helped him stand up as Lucas took the rock from Dustin. "Yeah, this is the monster killer!" Mike laughed as you all cheered.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You left your last class and you went to get your bike and saw Jonathan by his car. You ran up to him. "Jonathan!" He turned at your voice and gave you a small smile as you barreled into him for a hug. The Byers had always been like family to you.
"Y/n!" He hugged you for a bit before you pulled back. "Hey, how are you holding up with Will's disappearance?"
You shrugged. "Not too well, but the rest of the party has been helping me. We've been helping each other."
Jonathan ruffled your hair. "Stay strong, kiddo, and stay safe." You gave him a small smile and he returned it. You fiddled with your bracelet again.
"Hey, man." You turned to see Steve and his friends walking up with Nancy.
Jonathan pushed you behind him. "What's going on?"
Steve tilted his head towards a girl. "Nicole here was, uh, telling us about your work." You eyed Steve and he seemed to finally notice you. His eyes narrowed as the girl, Carol you assumed, continued the conversation.
"We've heard great things."
"Yeah, sounds cool." The other boy smirked.
"And we'd just love to take a look. You know, as... connoisseurs of art." Steve still had his eye on you and the way Jonathan stood in front of you protectively.
Jonathan sighed. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh, no? Oh..." Steve grabbed Jonathan's bag.
"Hey." Jonathan reached for it, but Steve held it out of his reach.
"Steve, give it back!" You tried to get the bag as well but Steve shoved you aside.
"Stay out of this, Y/n." He turned back to Jonathan. "So, you're corrupting my sister as well?"
Jonathan looked at you. "Y/n/n, go. I'll be fine." You glared at Steve before leaving. "Please, give me my bag."
You walked back to the middle school and grabbed your bike. You wheeled it over to where the rest of the party was.
"Hey, where were you?" Dustin tried to get your attention as you all got on your bikes and started biking to Mike's.
"Trying to stop my brother from being an asshole. Looks like it's terminal." That made the boys laugh and you chuckled along with them, worry for Jonathan in the back of your mind.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"El!" Mike called out as you all neared to see El crouching down. You jumped off your bike before it had fully stopped and pushed it to the ground as you hurried to El's side.
"Hey, El." She gasped and grabbed your hand. You squeezed it. "Are you ok?" She nodded as the boys pulled up.
"Hop on. We only have a few hours." Mike gestured to the seat behind him. You helped El onto the bike and then you got onto your own.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You had been walking for a long time before you started to recognize the forest. You couldn't place it until you all came to the Byers's house.
"Here." El stopped you all.
"Yeah, this is where Will lives."
"Hiding."
You turned to El and placed a hand on her shoulder. "No, this is where he lives. He's missing from here. Understand?"
"What are we doing here?" Lucas came up.
Mike sighed. "She said he's hiding here."
"Um... no!"
Dustin groaned. "I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing-"
"That's exactly what we did." Lucas interrupted. "I told you she didn't know what the hell she was talking about!"
Mike turned to El who was looking scared. "Why did you bring us here?"
El tried to stammer out an answer, but nothing came out. She grabbed your hand and looked to you for help. "Didn't she flip the board around?"
"Will you two stop wasting your time with her?" Lucas yelled, making El's grip on your hand tighten.
"What do you want to do then?" Mike yelled right back at Lucas.
"Call the cops, like we should have done yesterday."
"We are not calling the cops!" Mike argued.
"Hey, guys?" You turned to Dustin and saw what he was pointing to, flashing lights. You gasped as the sirens grew closer and Dustin finally got Mike and Lucas' attention.
You ignored the guys and let go of El's hand after you squeezed it. You got onto your bike and heard the boys following suit.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You hid behind a truck with the boys. The police sirens made your stomach drop as you saw the police pull out a body.
It was Will.
Your vision blurred as you stumbled backwards, hand to your mouth as your stomach turned. Ignoring the rest of the party, you grabbed your bike and peddled away furiously. It couldn't be true, there was no way that it was true. Will had to be alive, he had to be. There was no way that he was dead.
You could barely see the road you were biking down as tears streamed down your face.

I always imagine Jo has been stuck in Greta's shadow because Greta is the conventionally pretty one (which she is *chefs kiss*) , so can you do a fiction where reader notices Jo and hits on her first, much to her shock.
I’M BACK PEACHES!
So, it's been a long time since i took your requests, and tumblr was stressing me out a lot lately (every time i tried to enter, it fell), so i stopped taking requests, writing things, anyway...
Now i'm back! Your requests will come slowly, but they will come, i promise. I have a lot of lupe fanfics to do (and i'm loving it, actually, keep it up!), i'll alternate with preferences and other peaches, and a oneshot of sarah to complement the one i wrote last.
For now, i ask you to take it easy. And if you want to send requests, do so. The fanfics will come, it won't take long!
Enjoy!
Got any requests? Please send me an ask!

She’s Not You | Jo de Luca x Reader
Tumblr media
Prompt: You always choose Greta. Jo didn't understand why - or maybe she did -, even if she was making it clear that she was in love with you the most.
* * *
Jo was used to the scene. The Peaches walked into Vi's bar, the beautiful waitress - you - saw Greta passing by and went straight to talk to her, even able to somersault on the counter to get there before the other women.
It had been that way pretty much all her life. Greta always got the attention of all the girls - whether Jo was in love with them or not -. Jo was used to being sidelined.
She just didn't understand why it hurt so much in your case.
As usual, she watched the two of you laughing together, and your eyes flickered in her direction, surprising her with the act. You smiled delicately and surreptitiously, and Jo de Luca blushed for the first time at a gesture from you. She hid her face in her sleeve and avoided looking at you for a long time.
"You should go talk to her, Bazooka", Lupe whispered in the girl's ear, with a sneer. "Go on, start a conversation, play a catch."
"Wouldn't do any good," Jo sighed, turning to look at you sideways. "She always chooses Greta. Everyone always chooses Greta..."
* * *
Jo was sitting alone near the darts court, throwing a few on purpose so she didn't hit, or hit the smallest spot. She wasn't in the most suitable mood for fun or real play, and she huffed as she took the last bit of her cigarette, tossing it to the floor.
Suddenly, you sat down next to her and took her by surprise again.
“G'night, could I sit here?” you asked, chuckling.
Jo shrugged. "It's already seated, it makes no difference."
“Wow, mamma mia, what kind of mood is this, Jo?” you looked impressed. “Come on, cheer up! Want me to get one more drink? You won’t even need to spend money, right?”
Her eyes looked at you sideways. She was silent.
“Hey! I have an idea!” you jumped up from your chair and reached for her hand. “Let's go to the dance floor! What kind of music do you like? Can I ask Vi to put it on the radio, how about it?”
Jo didn't move. But she opened her mouth once. “You don't have to. You should be working. There's a lot of soldiers and ladies waiting to be served, if you haven't noticed.”
You smiled. “They can wait. Besides, today is my day off.”
For the first time, it made her smile.
“And since when do you have a day off?” she asked.
“Always,” you kept your tone carefree.
"Impossible."
"I'm serious, Jo!"
"Okay, okay, okay, I believe you, (Y\NN)...", she huffed. "Forgive me for my stubborn behavior, it's just that I haven't known what a day off is for a few weeks now, you know?"
“But you're making your workdays worthwhile,” you commented. “Your hits are amazing, no one has ever hit a hit like you do.”
She blushed once more.
"You're being modest, (Y\NN)."
“I can prove it to you not”, once again, you held out your hand. "Dance with me."
* * *
"You know you don't have to do that, right?"
You turned to her, dancing to Dream, by The Pied Pipers, and frowned as you guided her to the slow music. "Do what?"
She shrugged again. “You don't have to pretend to care about me just to make up for your crush on Greta. You don't have to obey everything she says, you know?”
You smirked, now caught off guard by her explanation. I didn't expect Jo to have such an opinion, or that she was so right about you and Greta, especially when you two had nothing in common. You opened your mouth, thinking of the words you would use to explain.
“I'm not doing anything Greta says,” you replied quietly. “When I sat next to you, it was because I wanted to. When I asked you to dance, it was because I wanted to. I never did anything because of her..." You looked up, rolling your eyes. "Okay, maybe a few things...but all those things were because I wanted to know what you liked."
Jo looked at you for the first time, her eyes half-closed creasing her forehead.
"What you mean?"
“Jo,” you whispered, confused. “Me and Greta have nothing. We didn't even come close to having anything. She's dating Carson Shaw, and I only have eyes for one person in particular... all I asked her to do was get her attention. We are friends, confidants, we probably seem different because we are laughing all over the place and we live in whispers...”
She looked surprised.
"Jo, I understand that you get frustrated with living in Greta's shadow sometimes, I understand that you feel awful seeing the girls you like go to Greta all the time, but in my case it's different...", you explained. “I think Greta is a great catch, she's beautiful and has many good qualities... but she has one huge flaw. One of the worst.”
“What flaw?”
“She’s not you,” you muttered, smiling in relief to tell her what she thought.
Jo looked even more shocked, and suddenly, she grabbed you with both arms and hugged you, squeezing your body slightly. Her eyes closed, breathing in her good perfume, mixed with the smell of cigarettes. And then, she cupped her face as soon as she broke the embrace.
It didn't even take a second for you to glue her lips to yours in a simple, sincere kiss. Jo responded right away, still quite confused, but her body melted at your touch, making you feel even more relieved. After a few seconds, you broke the kiss.
"I'm sorry for making you think I was having a thing with Greta."
“It's okay, (Y\NN). I am a real fool.”
“No,” you whispered, smiling. “You are not fool. In fact, you're one of the most amazing women I've ever met in my entire life, Jo. And you deserve someone who makes you very happy.”
"You..." she whispered tensely. “Would you go on a date with me? Just to make sure we make it happen, you know..."
You kissed her once more, smiling and caressing her cheek.
"Of course! A thousand times yes!”

what's on your s5 wishlist? the silly, goofy things!!!
HI SWEETIE!! Thanks for the ask!
1- Now as I’ve been expressing in my recent posts I want Will to do something really crazy and creepy and gross. Not EVIL but some kind of wierd horror trope that would be really fun to watch with him.
2- Lucas gets a motorcycle and does the Akira bike slide. He also has a bazooka. Akira came out in 1988 it would make sense with the time period!!
3- Post-time skip I want Lucas and El to have a shared interest that they developed together whilst watching over Max, like maybe both of them got really into skateboarding because they want to all do it together once she wakes up. Cue El controlling a board with her mind while looking fly as fuck.
4- Robin and Steve get a place together and call it The Babe Lair
5- Lately Rovickie has been really growing on me so… just more Rovickie. A lot of Rovickie.
6- At some point Steve does like the most cheesiest action movie line read in history. Something akin to “I’m here to chew bubblegum and kick ass” from They Live
7- Jonathan. Chainsaw.
8- At some point Argyle hatches a plan that involves drugs and it actually. Works.
9- Dustin is the science guy as always but he gets really crazy with it. Like conspiracy boards up on his wall crazy with it
I definitely left out a lot of things but that is a general list!!

Chapter three
Back    Navigation   Next
Barb wakes up, coughing up some kind of liquid. She looks to be wet and filthy. She takes off her glasses and sits up, bringing herself to her feet?
"Hello?" She calls out, "Nancy!"
Turning to see where she is, nothing but vines and cracked concrete.
"Nancy!" Her voice echos as she yells, "Hello?"
She turns to meet a faceless creature, it growls at her. She screams and tries to make a run from it.
"Oh, my god!" She shrieks, trying to find a way out.
The creature growls as she pulls on the wall, "Nancy!"
She finds what looks to be a ladder and begins to climb up. She pulls herself up reaching the top to what is revealed to be a pool.
She screams as she sees a disfigured Steve's house. She then flys back into the pool, grabbing onto the ladder. The creature growling, trying to pull her back in.
"Nancy!" She yells before losing her grip, getting sucked back into the pool.
~
"Will? Will?" Joyce says, waking up Jonathan, "Sweetheart, can you hear me?"
"Will...Please...Will..."she says, Jonathan pushes himself out of bed, throwing on some clothes before he walks out of his room.
"It's me. Just talk to me. Talk to me." She pleads, "Just say..."
"Mom?" He asks making her jump
"Jonathan!" She calls him over, "Come here. Come here."
"Mom, what is this?" He questions moving towards to couch
"Come here. Come here." She beckons, "It's Will. It's Will, he's...he's trying to talk to me."
"He's trying to talk to you?" He asks her
"Yes, through... through the lights." She explains
"Mom- " he starts worried that she has officially lost her mind
"I know. I know." She states, "Just... just watch. Will... your brother's here. Can you show him what you showed me, baby?"
A light quickly flickers, "Did you see that?" She gasps.
"It's the electricity, Mom." He stammers, "It's acting up. It's the same thing that fried the phone."
"No! It is not the electricity, Jonathan." She cries, "Something is going on here! Yesterday, that wall-"
"What? What about the wall?" He questions raising his voice
"I don't know. I don't know." She states knowing that he's not going to believe her
"Mom, first the lights, then the wall?" He exclaims
She stutters, "I just know that Will is here."
"No, mom." His voice breaking
She continues, "Maybe if I get more lamps- "
"No, mom." He interrupts her, "You don't need more lamps. You need to stop this, okay?"
Putting his hands on the side of face then he grips her shoulder.
"He is just lost." He explains trying to bring his mom back down to earth, "People are looking for him, and they're going to find him."
She whispers an okay and they sit back down on the couch.
"This isn't helping." He adds rubbing her back
She sniffles, "Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
"Can you do me a favor, Mom?" He begs, "Can you just try and get some sleep? Huh? Can you do that for me?
"I promise. I will." She replies "I just need to sit here for a minute."
"All right, I'll go make breakfast." He comforts, thinking that this will help.
~
El sits on the basement couch messing with the walkie-talkie.
"We just tell our parents we have AV club after school. That'll give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood." Mike explains to the group.
"You seriously think that the weirdo knows where Will is?" Lucas asks in a hushed voice
"Just trust me on this, okay?" Mike says looking at him, "Did you get the supplies?"
"Yeah" he replies pulling stuff out of his bag, "Binoculars... from 'Nam. Army knife... also from 'Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandanna... and the wrist rocket."
"You're gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot" Dustin asks
"First of all, it's a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon's not real. It's made up." He replies, "But if there is something out there, I'm gonna shoot it in the eye..." he pulls back and releases the band making it shoot forward, "and blind it."
Mike sighs, "Dustin, what did you and your sister get?"
Dustin dumps out his bag on the table, "Well, alrighty. So we've got... Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix. Y/n has extra batteries and flashlights in her bag."
"Seriously?" Lucas says in disbelief, "Where even is Y/n? I thought we could count on her."
"We need energy for our travels. For stamina. And we can count on her. She just had to be at school early for some band meeting." He explains knowing that she is lying to teacher about why she's been missing practice.
"And besides why do we need weapons? We have her." He barks back
"She shut one door!" Lucas argues
"With her mind!" He explains, "Are you kidding me? That's insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do."
"Like... " he walks over to grab a model of a space craft, " I bet... that she could make this fly!"
He holds it out in front of her, "Hey. Hey. Okay, concentrate. Okay?" He let's go and it falls to the floor.
"Okay, one more time." He picks it up, "Okay. Use your powers, okay?" It falls to the floor again.
"Idiot" Lucas mumbles
Mike sighs, "she's not a dog!"
"Boys! Time for school!" She shouts from upstairs.
They rush to grab their backpacks. Dustin and Lucas run upstairs.
"Stay down here. Don't make any noise and don't leave. If you get hungry, eat Dustin's snacks, okay?" Mike instructs El.
"Michael!" His mom says waiting for him
"Coming!" He screams back at her
"You know those power lines?" He asks El
"Power lines?" She replies not knowing what he's talking about.
"Yeah. The ones behind my house?" He says receiving a yes, "Meet us there, after school."
She repeats him, "After school?"
"Yeah. Three fifteen." He states, taking off his watch and putting it on her.
"When the numbers read three-one-five, meet us there." He says then rushing upstairs.
~
Nancy walks into class taking her seat. When the bell rings she turns and notices that Barb isn't there.
"Hey, Ally. Where's Barb?" She asks the girl in front of her.
She turns around to face Nancy, "Um, shouldn't you know?" She says
"You haven't seen her anywhere... at all?" She's asks before the girl can turn back around. She just shakes her head no.
~
Hopper and the two officers pull up to Hawkins lab but are stopped by security.
"Hey, can I help you?" The guard asks
"Uh, yeah. We're here for a tour." Hopper replies
"Oh, we don't give tours." The guard states
"Okay... A quick look around." He says just trying to get in.
"You have to get clearance for that. You can contact, uh, Rick Schaeffer at the Department of Energy." He informs the officers
"Maybe you seen it on tv. We got a local kid that's missing. We have reason to believe he might have snuck in here." He reveals the guard.
"Like I said, you have to speak to Mr. Schaeffer." He says.
Hopper cuts off the engine to the truck and takes his hat off. "What's your name?"
"Patrick." He replies
"Patrick, I got a panicked mayor, and I got reporters breathing down my neck and I got a very upset mother." He explains, "Now, I know the kids not in there but I gotta check off this box."
"Patrick, would you do me a favor?" He tries to reason, "Would you speak to your boss and see what you can swing for us? I'd really appreciate it. I'm talking ten minutes, tops."
The officer looks at him and nods his head.

El is sitting in the basement with empty wrappers and is focusing on making the space craft float. She gets bored letting it drop to the floor and grabs the walkie-talkie, putting back down not interested.
She then heads upstairs to the living room where she sits in the La-Z-Boy. She picks up the phone and hears the dial tone. She hums it back before putting it back down.
She sits in front of the tv, turning it on. She flips through all the different channels before stopping at a coke commercial.
~
Eleven is sitting in a room with a brain wave reader on her head. Doctors and Dr. Brenner in a different room watching her through a window.
A coke can sits in front of her on a table. She looks down at the can, her head shaking as she tries to concentrate.
The machine she's connected to showing a spike in waves. It's drawing out the waves fast and high. The monitor beeps rapidly as the can crushes into itself.
Dr. Brenner looks at her with a satisfied look on his face. She wipes her nose and looks down at here hand now smeared with blood.

Joyce pulls out a box of Christmas lights and begins to hammer nails in the wall to hang them up. Realizing she need more lights she heads to the store.

"And you think this missing boy may have crawled through there?" A man asks Hopper who's looking down the pipe.
"Well, that was the idea." He says examining the pipe.
"Yeah, I just don't see how that'd be possible." He states, "We've got over a hundred cameras. Every square inch covered, plus all my guys. No one breaks in here. Certainly not some kid."
"Those cameras, you keep the tapes?" he asks noticing a camera pointing right where they are.
They entire a room full of tvs, watching one screen that shows the pipe.
"This is the night of the sixth and seventh we're seeing here?" Hopper asks noticing something off about the tape
"That's correct." The man replies
"Is that it?" He asks
"Like I said, we would have seen him." The man states thinking he's convinced the officers.
The three officers now walking back to the truck, "The night of the 7th, we had a search party out for Will. You remember anything about that night?" He asks the others.
"Mmm, not much to remember. Called it off." Callahan replies.
"Cause the storm." Powell adds
"Yeah, a lot of rain that night. You see any rain on that tape?" Hopper points out
"What are you thinking?" Powell asks
"I don't know." He says, "But they're lying."
The tires screech as they drive off the labs lot. Leaving to go do some digging on this lab.

El heads upstairs and walks into Nancy's room. She walks to her dresser and opens a music box listening to the melody before closing it.
She walks over to a board full of pictures and ribbons. She looks at the pictures of Nancy ranging from baby pictures to now.
Full of what might be jealousy.

The boys are outside of their school on the field looking for rocks. But not just any kind of rocks, the perfect sized rocks for the wrist rocket.
"How about this one?" Mike asks showing the rock to Dustin.
"Too big for the sling." he says making him drop the rock.
"So, do you think Eleven was born with her powers, like the X-Men, or do you think she acquired them, like... like Green Lantern?" Dustin asks picking up and putting down rocks.
"She's not a superhero. She's a weirdo." Lucas states making his dislike for the girl clear
"Why does that matter? The X-Men are weirdos." Mike argued.
"If you love her so much, why don't you marry her?" He teases
"What are talking about?" He asks not getting what his friend is saying.
"Mike seriously?" He questions
"What?" He says waiting for an answer.
"You look at her all, like... 'Hi, El! El! El! El! I love you so much!'" He mimics Mikes voice hugging him before dropping to his knee, "Would you marry me?"
Dustin laughs and Mike tells Lucas to shut up. Two boys walk over to them.
"Yeah, shut up, Lucas." Troy says stopping to look at the trio, "What are you losers doing back here?"
"Probably looking for their missing friend." James jokes
"That's not funny. It's serious. He's in danger." Dustin snaps
"I hate to break it to you, Toothless, but he's not in danger. He's dead." Troy says, "That's what my dad says."
He continues, "He said he was probably killed by some other queer." The two boys laugh
"Come on. Just ignore them." Mike instructs his friends.
They start to walk away from the two boys, when Troy sticks his foot out tripping Mike. The two boys laugh as his face hits the ground.
"Watch where you're going, Frogface?" He taunts.
Dustin and Lucas help Mike off the ground, "you all right?" Lucas asks, he groans out a 'yeah'.
Wiping his now busted chin, Dustin sighs before picking up the rock Mike fell on, "Hey. How about this one?" He pats his back.
"Yeah this is it." He says, their moods being brought back up.

Christmas lights shine throughout the Byers home. Joyce looking around the living being brought out of her thoughts by a knock on the door. She runs to open the door, revealing Mrs. Wheeler and Holly.
"Hey!" She says to Joyce, she sighs answering "Hey Karen."
"I brought you a casserole" she states feeling the tension.
"Oh! Thank you, uh... Uh, you wanna... come in?" She asks.
Now sitting at the table, "Will always loved Christmas, you know." Joyce laughs to herself.
"So I thought if I... I put the lights up... He'd... I'd feel like he was home some how." She explains, "It's silly, I know."
"No. No it's not silly" she reassures, "How is Jonathan holding up?"
She inhales deeply, "You know, he's good at taking care of himself. He always has been, you know? I... I mean, he thinks I'm losing my mind, but..." she stops and looks off to side.
Karen follows her gaze, "Is something the matter?"
"Uh, no. No, I just... We're having electrical problems." She says
"Joyce. I want you to know something." She says grabbing her hand, "If you need anything, anything at all... Ted and I are here for you."
"Thank you. Thanks." She replies, grateful to have someone by her side.
The lights are flickering in the hallway, grabbing Hollys’ attention. She's slips out of the chair while to two moms continue talking. She follows them all the way to Will's room.
She pushes open the door, watching how the lights shine one after the other. She stands at the end of his bed amused by the lights around her.
When all of a sudden, they stop, a low growl can be heard. She walks towards the noise, looking at the wall.
The two moms finally notice she's gone.
A hand pushes on the wall from the other side. Joyce picks up the little girl before she could react.
"Hey!" Joyce says handing her over to Karen, "She shouldn't be here."
Karen apologizes, "Oh, I'm sorry. She's quite the explorer these days."
Joyce looks at the wall then at Holly, "Wait, did you see something?"
"Yeah." She responds
"What did... what did you see?" She asks, "Tell me. What did you see? What-"
"Joyce!" Karen says getting her attention
"Listen... Karen, thank you for the casserole, but I need you to leave." She states, "Okay?"

The release bell rings letting the kids leave school. Jonathan is walking to his car when he notices Steve and his friends waiting for him, talking with the girl from earlier.
"Hey, man." Steve says walking over to him.
"What's going on?" He asks already knowing that she told them what she saw.
"Nicole here was, uh, telling us about your work." He states
Carol chimes in, "We've heard great things."
"Yeah, sounds cool." Tommy adds
"And we'd just love to take a look. You know, as... connoisseurs of art." Steve says making Jonathan look back at him.
He sighs, "I don't know what you're talking about." Trying to get in his car.
Tommy is quick to take his bag from him, "Please, give me my bag. No, just..."
Tommy passes it over to Steve, "Man, he is totally trembling. He must have something to hide." Steve comments, "Here we go."
He starts to go through his bag pulling out the pictures, "Ah... Here we go."
He starts going through the pictures, "Oh man."
"Let me see." Tommy says taking a picture from Steve. Carol then taking it from him.
"Yeah, this isn't creep at all." Carol says in disgust
"I was looking for my brother." He says, not lying but not really giving them an explanation as to why he took pictures of them.
"No." Steve replies, "No, this is called stalking."
Nancy walks over to group, "what's going on?"
"Here's the starring lady." Tommy announces
"What?" She asks not having a clue as to what's going on.
"This creep was spying on us last night." Carol explains to her, "He was probably going to save this one for later." Handing Nancy a picture of herself standing at Steve's window getting undressed.
Steve scoffs, "See, you can tell that he knows it was wrong, but... Man, that's the thing about perverts... Its hardwired into 'em. You know, they just can't help themselves."
He then rips up the pictures in his hand throwing the pieces in the air, "So... we'll just have to take away his toy."
"Steve." Nancy says looking over at him
"No, please, not the camera." He goes to move towards Steve but is stopped by Tommy.
"No, no, wait, wait... Tommy, Tommy." Steve says, "it's okay. Here you go, man."
Steve holds the camera out to Jonathan, he then drops it when he goes to grab it.
"Come on, let's go. The games about to start." Steve says walking away the others follow but Nancy stays behind.
Jonathan is quick to the floor to pick up his camera, Nancy just watches until she sees a picture of Barb. She bends down to pick up the pieces at Steve beckons her over. She shoves the pieces in her bag and walks away.

El walks over to the power line shaking with anticipation. She repeats the numbers 'three-one-five" to herself as she paces. A cat meows and then growls at her.
~
A cat in a cage hisses as El looks at it. The brain wave read hooked onto her head. The machine beeping as the brain activity increases.
El cries as she looks at the cat, who in return hisses at her. The cat continues to growl and hiss. As she whimpers and cries, taking the reader off her head.
She shakes her head no as Dr. Brenner looks disappointed. She yells no as two men drag her down the hall. Calling out to Dr. Brenner who watches the men drag her away.
When they throw her in the room she’s quick to get back up. She forces the door open with her mind, flinging one of the men into the wall. He breaks tiled wall before falling to the ground.
The other man walks into the doorway and she turns her head quick, breaking the man's neck. Her nose bleeding as she grows tired, sliding down the wall.
Dr. Brenner walks over to the door taking in the scene. He walks over to her putting his hands on her head moving them to the sides of her face. She begins to cry, not sure what's going to happen.
"Incredible." He states picking her up as she continues to cry. He steps over the men on the floor and carries her down the hallway.
~
"El!" Mike calls out as the group pulls up on their bikes, "You okay?"
She nods her head, he pats the back of his seat, "Hop on. We only have a few hours."
She walks over and get on his bike, they then take off to try and find Will.
When they enter the woods, they all get off their bikes and walk them. Mike and El walk behind the three others.
"Why did they hurt you?" She asks seeing the cut on his chin.
"What?" He answers and she points to his chin, "Oh, that. Uh... I just fell at recess."
"Mike." She says not taking her eyes off the boy, "Friends tell the truth."
"I was tripped by this mouth breather, Troy, okay?" He admits
She makes a face, "Mouth breather?"
"Yeah, you know... a dumb person. A knucklehead." He explains
"Knucklehead?" She questions not understanding anything that comes out of his mouth.
"I don't know why I just didn't tell you. Everyone at school knows." He frets, "I just didn't want you to think I was such a wastiod, you know?"
"Mike..." she starts, "Yeah?", "I understand."
He smiles at her as she looks away.
~
Nancy's in Steve's backyard calling out for Barb when she hears rustling coming from behind her. Her head snaps in the direction in which it came.
She heads into the trees, looking for what caused the noise. She walks a little further in continuing to call out for Barb. The rustling continues, coming from a different direction.
She turns to see a creature run past her. She moves to run but trips and falls to the floor. She pants as she gets up running out of the woods.
~
The lights in the Byers house continue to flicker and go off. Joyce goes where the lights lead her. She walks into the living room wondering what the lights are telling her. She pushes some boxes out of the way to reveal cabinet.
She picks up some Christmas lights and opens the doors. She climbs in and holds the lights in her lap, "Will... are you here?"
The lights immediately glow in her hands, "Okay, good, good, good, good." The lights turn off.
"Um, blink once for yes, twice for no." She instructs, "Can you do that for me, sweetie?" The lights glow only once saying yes.
"Oh, good boy. Good boy." She praises, "Baby, I need to know... Are you alive?" They go off only once, giving her the hope and news, she needed.
"Are you safe?" She asks, the lights blink twice saying no.
"I need to know where to find you, honey. Where... where are you? Can you... can you tell me where you are? Can you..." She whimpers, "Please, baby. I need to find you. Tell me what to do. Please."
"Will..." she cries sitting in the cabinet.
She soon gets out and finds a bucket of paint and a brush. She starts to paint the alphabet on the wall, from A to Z.
~
"Look at this." Hopper says pushing an article over to Powell, "Dr. Martin Brenner."
"Who?" He asks not following
"Brenner." He states, "He runs Hawkins Lab."
"Okay." He replies still not understanding.
Hopper scoffs, "You don't find that interesting?"
"Not really." He says look at him with an unamused face, "He was involved with some hippie crap back in the day, so what?"
"No, this isn't some hippie crap." He argues, "This is CIA-sanctioned research."
"Doesn't mean He has anything to do with our kid." He objects
"Come on. Look at that." He replies pointing at the picture, "Hospital gowns. All of them." Powell sighs but continues to listen.
He continues to explain, "Now, that piece of fabric that the teacher found by the pipe. That sure looked like a hospital gown to me, huh? Am I wrong?"
Powell groans, "I don't know, Chief."
Hopper sighs, "Come on, man. Work with me here. I'm not saying that that's some grand conspiracy. I'm just..."
He takes a deep breathe before continuing, " I'm saying maybe something happened. Maybe Will was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he saw something that he shouldn't have."
"It's a reach." Powell admits
"It's a start." He claims
Just then officer Callahan radios in, "Hey, Powell, is the chief with you?"
Hopper snatches the radio from Powells shoulder, "Hopper here. What do you got?"
They barge through the library doors and head to the truck. They turn on the sirens and drive off.
~
Now dark outside as the group of kids continue their walk. Mike and El Come to a stop when they reach Will's house.
"Here." Eleven says to Mike
"Yeah, this is where Will lives." He responds
"Hiding." She replies
He tries to clarify, "No, no, this is where he lives. He's missing from here. Understand?"
The others finally arrive and Dustin drops his bike as he looks at the two.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas asks
"She said he's hiding here." Mike answers
"Um... no!" He sasses knowing that he's not here
"I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing- " Dustin exclaims
Lucas interrupts, "That's exactly what we did. I told you she didn't know what the hell she was talking about!"
"Why did you bring us here?" Mike asks
She stammers trying to say something before Lucas starts talking again, "Mike, don't waste your time with her."
"What do you want to do then?" He shouts
"Call the cops, like we should have done yesterday." he argues
"We are not calling the cops!" Y/n chimes in knowing that things will only get worse if they do that.
"Hey, guys?" Dustin says walking forward
"What other choice do we have?" He continues to argue
"Guys!" Dustin yells getting everyone's attention.
Sirens can be heard as a cop cars fly by with an ambulance following. They all grab their bikes and start riding towards the commotion.
~
Joyce steps back and looks at the letter filled wall, "Okay. Okay, baby, talk to me. Talk to me. Where are you?"
She gasps as the light above R goes on, "R. Good, good, good, good. That's good. Come on, come on." Then the I lights up, "I..G..H..T..H..E..R..E"
"Right here." She says, "Right here? I don't know what that means. I need you to tell me what to do. What should I do? How do I get to you? How do I find you? What should I do?"
Just then the R lights up again then U and lastly the N. A figure is trying to push its way out of the wall behind Joyce. All of the lights in the house suddenly start to glow.
She turns around and gasps as she sees the figure pushing itself out of the wall. It's hand shoots out of the wall and the rest of its body follows.
Joyce turns and runs out of the house as the monster screeches.
~
Hopper pulls up to the scene not knowing the kids are following him. "Jesus" he says getting out of his truck speed walking over to the scene, "Oh, God. Please tell me it's not the kid."
The group finally pulls up hopping off their bikes and stand behind a fire truck. A body is then pulled from the water, and it looks to be Will.
Hopper can't bear to look at the scene and walks away.
"It's not Will. It can't be." Mike says in disbelief.
They watch as the firefighters pull the body to shore. Y/n puts an arm around Dustin's shoulder pulling him closer.
"It's Will. It's really Will." Lucas states not knowing what to do
El looks at the scene in horror knowing that this can't be true. "Mike..." she says
"Mike? Mike, what?" He snaps, "You were supposed to help us find him alive. You said he was alive! Why did you lie to us? What's wrong with you? What is wrong with you?"
"Mike.." she whispers not able to raise her voice
"What?" He yells making her jump, he sees no reason to stay and walks away
"Mike, come on. Don't do this, man." Lucas says, "Mike."
"Mike, where are you going?" Y/n asks
"Mike!" Dustin calls out
Mike picks up his bike and starts walking off.
"Mike!" Lucas yells
~
Joyce is running down the street, constantly looking back to see if the creature that came from her wall is following her. She almost runs into a car. The driver gets out and it’s Jonathan.
"Mom, what happened?" He worries rushing over to her pulling her into a hug. She cries as he holds her in street.

Dustin and Y/n arrive home after dropping El off at Mike’s, they drop their bikes in the driveway. Y/n stops him, grabbing his arm before he can go inside, "Are you okay?" Knowing the answer
He looks at her shaking his head as a broken up no slips out. She pulls him into hug as he sobs wrapping his arms around her.

Chapter 2 << New Journey Masterlist >> Chapter 4
Tumblr media
After the shock that occurred you yesterday, you decided that it'd be best to prepare for the 'demogorgon' the next time you looked for Will. Oh yeah, you're all going out again in the dark to search for Will. You tried to stop them, telling them it's not safe and worse things could happen, but none of them were listening to you. They were in desperate need to find their friend so to keep them in check you were going to be part of their little search group.
Last night you and Dustin were preparing your bags with everything you could find useful. His was mostly (if not all) filled with snacks while your bag mainly contained weapons and supplies. Nothing too much. Two pocketknives for you and your brother, some medical supplies and the walkies.
You hated the idea of going out there when some creature was lingering in the woods, but you would feel better if you were prepared for anything.
You considered the idea of speaking to Jonathan about this, you haven't seen him since last morning, but you didn't want to give him any false hope. And you didn't even know how you would back up your theory 'Oh, some girl we found in the woods told us'. No. You had to find evidence first before making the case more bizarre.
Before you went to school, you, Dustin and Lucas stopped by Mike's to form a plan for the evening. You exchanged pleasantries with his parents and then went to the basement. You saw Eleven playing with Mike's walkie talkie.
"Okay, so, I believe the best excuse to say to our parents is that we have AV Club after school. Y/n, you..." Mike started speaking and looked towards you for your excuse.
"I have a night shift tonight, so I have time to spare till then." you didn't really feel like going to work, but you didn't want to use Mr. Miller's kindness again for your advantage.
"Great, that's give us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood."
"You seriously think this w- she knows where Will is?" Lucas changed his words quickly, knowing you told tolerate the word 'weirdo' anymore, even though you're a bit spooked by her.
"Just trust me on this, okay?" Mike asked and Lucas agreed "Did you get the supplies?"
"Yeah. Binoculars… from ‘Nam. Army knife… also from ‘Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana… and the wrist rocket." he described the stuff while taking them out of his bag, showing them to the rest of you.
"You’re gonna take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?" your brother asked not impressed with his choice of weapon.
"First of all, it’s a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon’s not real. It’s made up. But if there is something out there, I’m gonna shoot it in the eye…" he slings the wrist rocket towards Dustin and he flinches at the movement " And blind it."
You shook your head at them and Mike sighed "What did you, guys, bring?"
"Well, I brought our walkies, two pocketknives and some medical stuff, just to be prepared, and Dustin..." your words dragged as you saw your brother dump all of his snacks on top of the table.
"Alrighty. So, we’ve got… Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix." he went through all of the bags then looked up to his friends proudly.
"Seriously?"
"We need energy for our travels. For stamina. And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have her." he answered Lucas and pointed at the girl. Eleven was still looking at the walkie not taking her eyes away from it.
"She shut one door!" Lucas said exaggerated.
"With her mind! Are you kidding me? That’s insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do. Like…" he stopped him words and took on his hands the Millennium Falcon Lego Mike had build "I bet... that she could make this fly!" he stopped in front of Eleven and held out the toy towards her face, her eyes finally leaving the walkie talkie "Hey. Hey. Okay, concentrate. Okay?" he says before letting it go, but without any help from Eleven, it fell to the ground "Okay, one more time." again gravity does its thing "Okay. Use your powers, okay?" but for the third time the same thing happens and Eleven goes back to the walkie on her hands.
"Idiot." Lucas said and you smirked before playing with your brother's hat and bringing him into your hug, his back on your stomach.
"She's not a dog!" Mike yelled after he picked up the toy from the ground, when suddenly his mother called out.
" Guys! Time for school!"
"Okay, pack your shit. We're meeting here after school." you said as you grabbed your bag and climbed up the stairs.
You saw Dustin and Lucas follow you outside, only Mike staying in the basement to explain what time they would return to Eleven. After a couple minutes you started riding to your schools. You were pretty anxious about going today. You wanted to see if Jonathan would be there and also you wanted to apologize to Nancy. You were immature talking to her like that. You still didn't agree with her words and excuse, but it wasn't the time to speak to her about that. You truly hoped she had a nice time.
When you arrived at Hawkins High you didn't see your friend's car. He must still not be ready to stay here. You made a mental note to check on him the moment you had some time to yourself.
You took a deep breath knowing that since Jonathan wasn't here you couldn't avoid talking to Nance any longer. You passed the familiar faces of your classmates when you finally arrived at your locker. Nancy was there, but she wasn't alone.
Steve Harrington was next to her, blocking the way to your locker with his body. You didn't feel like fighting with anyone today, so you slowly walked over to the two of them.
You could hear them talk to each other, but you didn't understand what they were saying. You took your final step behind Steve as they were kissing and you cursed the universe for this awkward part.
"Um.. Steve? You're kinda blocking my locker..." you said just loud enough for the two to hear. Startled by your voice they both turned to look at you, Nancy's eyes falling on the ground the moment you looked at her.
"Oh, sorry." he immediately moved to the side, his hand holding onto Nancy's.
"Thank you." you replied under your breath, but he was still able to catch it.
"Did you just thank me, Henderson?" he was smirking at the thought of you having nice manners towards him. He may not admit it, but you were always an interesting person to him. Your quiet, but also bold personality always made him entertained.
"Don't get too used to it." your back was facing him as you opened your locker getting everything you needed.
"Well, after this exciting development, I think I need to go to the others. Don't worry too much, okay?" he said to Nancy, before she replied with a soft 'okay'. He leaned towards her placing a kiss on her cheek and left you two alone.
Your eyes fell on your friend's face. She was already looking back at you and you gave her a shy smile as you closed your locker, turning your body to face her completely.
"Hey..."
"Hey." she said.
"Look, um... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have blown off at you yesterday. These have just been some very stressful days and-" you started apologizing when her voice stopped you.
"Y/n, it's okay. I know that I shouldn't have used Will's name like that. I'm sorry too. Thank you for putting some sense into me."
"So, we're okay?" you smiled at your friend.
"Yeah, of course we're okay." you smiled at each other "Is that why you were nice to Steve?"
"I thought not being shitty for once would make you feel like I'm really sorry and that I'm willing to give him a chance." you explained your thoughts
"Well, you definitely achieved that."
"So, what exactly happened yesterday? I heard you two talk and you looked quite worried. He wasn't an asshole, right? If so, I'm taking back my effort of being nice."
"No, no, it's not him. Yesterday was... a big day. It's just that- I can't find Barb today, did you see her somewhere?" you thought the conversation was heading to some more explicit parts, definitely not to your other friend and it made you skeptical.
"Barbara? Um, no, no, I haven't seen her.." the bell rang and you both started walking to your classroom. You glanced at Nancy and her face was as worried as you had first seen her "She left before you yesterday?"
"Yes."
"So, I'm sure she woke up early in the morning and already is at her desk." you reassured her but as you entered the class, no Barbara was found. You looked at each other and you shrugged "I'm sure she's okay, Nancy. She probably didn't feel like going to school today."
"I just can't stop picturing every bad scenario that could happen to her. Now with Will gone, I'm scared the same thing has happened."
You didn't answer her as you took your seats. You couldn't. Maybe she was right. Maybe something bad has happened to her. Now that you know more about Will's disappearance, that some 'thing' is out there, your anxiety started acting up, your own mind creating those scenarios.
If you didn't find her by the end of the day, this evening you would have to keep your eyes out for one more person.
___
The rest of the day was normal. You tried to calm yourself down during class, telling yourself that panic will do you no good for your plan.
After some boring and far too long classes it was finally time for lunch, but as it turns out you couldn't even relax there.
"Nancy, I'm not going to sit with dumb and dumber." you were putting some food on your trays as you talked, hundreds of voices around you filling the cafeteria room.
"You said you were gonna be nicer to Steve."
"To Steve, yes, but not his 'friends'." you warned her.
"Jonathan isn't here and you don't like eating by yourself. I also want to ask them about Barbara. Come on." she simply explained and smiled at you before you headed at the 'King's' table. Carol had her whole leg on the table showing the boys something and Tommy was loudly laughing every now and then. You could already tell it wasn't gonna end well...
"No, I swear. Look at this. It's totally frostbite." Carol said as Nancy sat next to Steve and you took your seat next to her reluctantly.
"It's a heated pool." Tommy said, after he took a bite of his food. He saw you sitting down and eyed you carefully. You didn't give him an answer and just looked down at your own food, trying not to stare at Carol's bruise. It made your stomach turn and you already didn't have that much of an appetite.
"Well, if it’s not frostbite, then what is it?" she asked.
"Ugh, I don’t care what it is, it’s disgusting! Get it off the table. We’re eating here." Steve said annoyed, his mouth half full of food.
"Yes, please." you mumbled.
"I'm sorry, is my foot bothering you?" Carol asked you, acknowledging your existence with a frown on her face. You wanted to slap it so much but resisted your urges.
"Yeah, actually it is." a humorous smile on your face.
"Why are you here, anyway?" her gaze was intimidating, but you just ignored her and took a bite from your food. After a moment of silence and chuckles from Tommy, Nancy's voice filled your ears.
"Hey, Tommy. Yesterday, when you left, did you see Barb?"
"What?" his dumb face asked.
"Barbara. She's not here today." Nancy explained and you could tell talking about her made her nerves perk up. You don't know if any of you could handle another disappearance. But for now you told hold of the hand she had under the table to reassure her.
"I seriously have no idea who you’re talking about." he chuckled along side Carol.
"My God..." you sighed. If he didn't stop acting like a kid, you would slap him right here and now.
"Come on, don’t be an ass, man. Did you- Did you see her leave last night or not?" Steve came to the rescue and you could hardly believe your eyes. Maybe he wasn't as bad after all...
"No, she was gone when we left." he finally answered.
"Probably couldn’t stand listening to all that moaning." Carol couldn't hold her childish behavior for more than two minutes as she started moaning and calling out Steve's name, imitating Nancy from last night. Tommy picked up on the teasing and also started moaning even louder, banging his hands on the table. Nancy couldn't look away from her plate embarrassed, Steve looked annoyed but also proud and you looked at the two making the noises with shock in your eyes.
"Okay, chill." the King demanded and the two stopped their performance.
"Oh, relax. It was the only way for Y/n to hear any kind of moaning."
"Nah, I'm sure she's getting it on with the freak Byers." Tommy corrected Carol and they laughed in your face. Your blood was boiling, but you calmed down your breathing, not falling on their level.
As they were laughing you eyes fell on a figure that was passing the corridor outside of the cafeteria. It was Jonathan. You hated feeding the demonic couple on their absurd story, but you needed to check on Jonathan.
"He's my cue to leave." you pointed at Jonathan to Nancy and picked up your stuff and tray to leave. She tried to hold you down, but you gave her a look and she knew you needed to leave. Meanwhile, Carol laughing even more now that she has managed to 'upset' you. You couldn't let her win. You had to do something.
"Oh, before I leave, I need to give you something, Carol." you turned to look at her with the fakest sweet smile you could pull off. She was staring at you with the most unimpressed glare that soon turned into a shocked one.
You grabbed the pudding you had taken for dessert and dumped it on her pants. Her mouth opened and gave you a hateful look "For you frostbite." you turned to leave quickly, a grin on your face. You winked at Nancy, who was slightly smirking and made your way to the garbage can to throw out the rest of your food.
"You bitch!" you heard Carol squeal. You gave her a smile as you left the cafeteria. She was trying to get the stain out, making Tommy go fetch her some more napkins. Steve was preoccupied talking to Nancy, but you were pretty sure you had seen him smile a little too.
You chuckled while you walked outside on her corridor, jogging to catch up with Jonathan.
"Hey, Jonathan! Did you see that? Oh, Carol's face was priceless..." you smiled faded as you caught glimpse of Jonathan's face "Are-are you okay?" you placed your hand on his shoulder and looked him in the eye.
"It's-it's fine. You know... the usual." you could see something else was bothering him as well, but you just let it go. He'd talk to you when he was ready.
"Okay... Do you want to go somewhere to clear our heads? My treat." you smiled and waited for his answer.
"I-I was actually heading to the darkroom to develop some of the photos I have taken-" he explained and you grabbed his arm as you began walking again.
"Cool, I'll come with. You know I love your photographs."
"Uh... Don't you want to go back to the cafeteria? I don't want to keep you away from lunch time." he stopped walking and pointed back at the way you came from.
"Please, if I go back, Carol with rip my eyes out." you eyed your friend and your brows furrowed "Do you not want me to come with you?" you crossed your arms in front of your chest.
"No, no, it's just..." he played with his hair, something he did when he was nervous and you became very suspicious.
"Jonathan, what's going on?"
He sighed and looked around before taking your hand in his "Okay, I'll show you, but don't freak out, please."
You didn't answer, just followed him to the darkroom. He started developing the pictures, hanging them to dry. In the meantime, he was explaining what he did last night.
"So, yesterday I went out to look for Will and I had my camera with me. I tried to call you, but your mom said you were working and the diner said you didn't come in-"
"Yeah, sorry, I was with the party... They have been dealing with this thing pretty terribly, so I wanted to stay with them." you didn't like lying to him, but it had to stay that way until you knew more about Will's location.
"Yes, yes, of course. So, I was walking around the forest and I stumbled upon-" he began explaining but you stopped him.
"Is that Nancy? And-and Barbara? And Steve?" some of the photos were starting to show and it didn't take long for you to understand who the faces were "Jonathan what is this?" you pointed at the pictures looking him in the eye.
"I-I just came across their party and-"
"And you decided to take pictures of them? Jonathan, I don't want to sound mean, but.. This is kinda creepy." you looked at the rest of them.
"Don't think about it like that. I just- captured the moment." he said quietly.
"And you thought it'd okay to 'capture' this moment as well?" you pointed at the picture showing Nancy's bare back in what you guessed was Steve's room.
But before Jonathan could answer, a girl, Nicole, walked inside the room. You immediately panicked and tried to hide the photos, fearing for her reaction. She places herself next to Jonathan and sent you both a smile, but it faded quickly as her eyes left you and wandered at the photos you and Jonathan had on your hands.
He took them from you and placed them inside his bag leaving the room without a second thought after he took your hand and made you follow him.
"You think she saw?" you thought out loud. You had entered an empty classroom wanting to talk with no other disruptions. Your back was leaning on the door while Jonathan was sitting on top of the teacher's desk, clanging onto his bag.
"Maybe- I- I don't know. I don't care." he stood up walking back and forth.
"Jonathan, if she tells someone, maybe- I mean, how can you not care?" your eyes pleaded for an explanation.
"Cause I have bigger problems to deal with!" he yelled at you, his nerves taking the best of him
"Yeah, exactly. You don't also need another problem, like a smashed car, when- not if- when Steve finds out about this!" you yelled back, rummaging through his bag, showing him the photo of Nancy he had taken.
He stared at the photo, before sighing and rubbing his forehead "I'm sorry..."
"Look... Let's just hope she didn't understand what she actually saw. Maybe she won't tell someone and we're worrying about nothing." you comforted him.
After some time you ended up talking about the rest of his night. He hadn't found anything about where Will might be and it made him lose even more hope. Then he told you about how his mother had acted this morning, fearing for her health and sanity. You wanted to share everything you knew, but you had to wait. Eventually the bell rang and you had to go back to your classes.
___
The moment you stepped out of the school next to Jonathan at the end of the day, you could actually feel a weigh leave your shoulders, but your anxiety was still present. You just wanted to get on your bike, find the kids and go look for Will. You couldn't wait any longer. But, of course, the universe couldn't leave you alone for more than an hour.
You had left Jonathan for a bit to go and grab your bike. You couldn't convince him letting you return home by yourself, so you were on your way of walking towards the parking lot, bike in hand, looking for your friend. Only to find him once again in trouble.
"And here comes the partner in crime." Tommy said as you stopped. You looked around at mess that had created. Steve, Tommy, Carol and the girl from the darkroom, Nicole, were standing opposite of Jonathan, his bag on their hands as well as the photos.
"Shit..." you said under your breath looking over at Jonathan, fear evident in his eyes and you guessed yours as well.
"You told him what we were doing, right? Nancy told you and you got jealous or some shit and thought I'd be fun, right?" Carol's words made you furious.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"No, I think we have all the evidence we need to figure things out." she said giving you a shove on the shoulders, making your body fall backwards, hit your bike and lose its balance. It hurt landing on top of your bike, but you didn't want to show any sign of discomfort right now.
"Hey, why did you do that?" a voice started nearing you and you looked up to see Nancy coming to help you back on your feet. She took your arm, trying to lift you up, but you just stared at her. You didn't want her to think you had anything to do with this. You feared for her reaction, because nothing about this made you or Jonathan look nice and you knew that.
"Here's the starring lady." Tommy said sarcastically.
"What?" she looked back down at you, asking you what's going on, but Steve beat you to it.
"You might want to leave their side." he said coldly, his eyes looking like stone.
"No, what- what's going on? Why did you push Y/n on the ground?" Nancy was now walking towards Carol, looking angry.
"I'm not the one you should be mad at." she handed her the pictures she was holding "These creeps were spying on us last night. I don't even want to imagine what those two would want to do with this one." you could tell she was talking about the photo of Nancy naked. You were still on the ground, your palms taking in the weight of your head as you sighed. This can't be happening right now...
"See, you can tell that they know it was wrong, but... Man, that's the thing about perverts..." Steve started talking and walking towards Jonathan, who stood next to you.
"Stop it..." you pleaded quietly. You began picking yourself up, hating all the looks on you, especially Nancy's.
"It's hardwired into 'em. You know, they can't help themselves." Steve finished his sentence, as he 'nicely' fixed up Jonathan's collar, before tearing the photos he was holding. He sent you a look and it was the first time you've ever felt inferior towards him. You didn't know why, but he looked disappointed in you and you wanted to make it better "So... We'll just have to take away his toy." he said and walked back to Jonathan's bag and panic arose into your friend.
"Steve..." it was the first time Nancy had spoken after she saw everything and you were more than glad to hear her kind of supporting you.
"No, please, not the camera." Jonathan tried to step in, but Tommy stopped him, while Carol walked up a bit opposite of you as a warning.
"No, no, wait, wait... Tommy, Tommy." Steve told his friend to back off. Tommy did as he was told, chuckling and his friend stepped towards Jonathan handing him the camera "It’s okay. Here you go, man."
But before Jonathan could raise his arm, Steve let it fall on the ground, the sound of glass breaking making you flinch. You knew how important this camera was to Jonathan and how much it cost him to buy it. Now it was useless.
"Come on, let’s go. The game’s about to start." the king announced and left you two to deal with the mess yourselves.
"Boo." Tommy told you as a joke as he walked off.
Carol approached you along side Nicole as she ripped in half the rest of the photos "Bye."
You stared down at them exhausted, Jonathan still starring at the broken camera. You knelt down and started picking them up. You heard Steve call out for Nancy in the distance, only now realising she was still there with you. You looked up to see her take some pieces of the teared photos on her hands. She looked at you quickly and you found your chance to speak "Nancy, this isn't what it looks like-" she was gone before you could finish.
___
The only thing that made you feel a bit at ease is that you wouldn't be late at your meeting, even after this mess. You had a class less than the kids today, so you had plenty of time to pick up the pieces of the photographs and the camera. You didn't talk much as Jonathan drove you to your house. You didn't know what to say or what to do. You just wanted to forget that it had happened at all. You took your bike out of his trunk and said a simple goodbye as you watched him drive away.
You took a deep breath and made your way at the back of Mike's house, where Eleven was already waiting for you all. You were a bit early. You had hoped to have some time to yourself to calm down your thoughts, but you guessed it'd be best to distract yourself from thinking anything for a moment than thinking about everything all at once.
As you came closer you saw that Eleven wasn't moving, she looked as if she was frozen in time and it worried you. You parked your bike on the fence and slowly walked up to her "Eleven?" she didn't respond. You touched her shoulder and that's when she snapped out of whatever trance she was on. She looked around her eyes falling on you "Hey, it's okay. You're okay." she just kept looking at you. She looked scared. This was the first time she had allowed you to be this close to her. You could tell she needed the support and you were ready to give it to her. But someone interrupted your moment.
"You guys okay?" you turned to see the kids on top of their bikes looking at you. Mike was closer to the two of you as he asked you the question.
You took a last glance at Eleven who was nodding at Mike "Yeah, everything's okay."
"Okay, come on, hop on." Mike patted his saddle waiting for El to sit down. You could see her being a bit hesitant, but you encouraged her a little giving her a pat on the back. You motioned for them to start heading for the forest and you'll follow along in a bit.
You placed your body on top of your bike and started riding behind them after a couple minutes. Dustin was riding a bit slower than the rest making you grin "You didn't have to wait for me. I can catch up to you all easily."
"Are you okay?" he asked you genuinely. You both hated and loved the fact that he can so easily tell when you're not fine.
"You don't have to worry about me, Dusty. We have to focus on the plan, okay?" you smiled at him and he did the same as you continued riding towards the forest.
___
You've been searching for a couple hours now and the day has started turning dark. You, Dustin and Lucas have been following behind Mike and Eleven and you all have began feeling less hopeful about this whole thing. It felt like you were heading nowhere and when you eventually found your destination, it felt like every strength you had had left your body.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas asked Mike, after letting his bike fall to the ground. You looked at the house realising you spent these past few hours heading to the one house you didn't even need to search. The Byers residence.
"She said he's hiding here?" Mike said just as confused as all of you looked.
"What?" you asked, leaning onto your bike, your legs killing you.
"Um... no!" Lucas said annoyed.
"I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing-" your brother spoke up, before Lucas interrupted him.
"That’s exactly what we did. I told you she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about!"
"She must have a reason to bring us here!" you stepped in as you saw Eleven looking a bit lost "Eleven, why are we here?" you asked calmly, but she didn't know how to respond.
"Eleven?" Mike spoke up trying to get her to talk, but the girl just started stammering
"Don't waste your time with her." Lucas' words sounded angrier and angrier by the second and it started irritated those around him, especially Mike.
"What do you want to do then?"
"Call the cops, like we should have done yesterday." Lucas said, none of you noticing Dustin walking further away from the group.
"We are not calling the cops!" Mike protested.
"No, not the cops." you said, your thoughts recalling a memory.
"What?" Lucas looked at you as if you were crazy.
"We need to talk to the Byers... Jonathan told me something today about his mother and I think that maybe it-"
"Guys!" Dustin's voice stopped you. You all turned to look at him and immediately picked up on what he was referring to.
Sirens. Police cars. Red and blue lights filling the darkness. An ambulance following behind.
"Will..." Mike expressed all of your thoughts.
Your heart was stuck in your throat as you started following behind the commotion. You feared for the worst and hoped for the best.
You end up at the quarry. So many police cars in sight. As well as fire trucks and the ambulance... You didn't have much more hope now. You all hid behind a firetruck and watched in silence as police men were taking a body out of the lake.
"No, it's not Will. It can't be." Mike said, desperate for it to be true. But as you watched the body coming closer, its clothes made it as clear as the water it was in.
"Oh, God..." your hand covered your mouth as shock filled your body, the other one reaching for your brother.
"It's Will. It's really Will." Lucas said. You saw as Mike stepped backwards.
"Mike..." Eleven called out.
" 'Mike'? 'Mike' what? You were supposed to help us find him alive. You said he was alive! Why did you lie to us? What’s wrong with you? What is wrong with you?" he snapped at her and tears filled your eyes.
"Mike..."
"What?" he told her, not expecting an answer as he turned to get his bike and take off.
"Mike, come on. Don’t do this, man. Mike…" Lucas tried to stop him from leaving, but the boy had already made up his mind.
"Mike, where are you going? Mike!" Dustin cried out and you fell on your knees to hug him.
"Mike!" Lucas tried on more time, the tears wetting his cheeks. You motioned for him to hug you as well.
So you sat there for who knows how long hugging your brother and your friend, trying to stop the pain from taking control over your body and mind, your heart already shattered into pieces.

TWEEK WEEK 2023 DAY 2 - FASHION
Tumblr media
THIS BARBIE HAS THREATENED GEORGE LUCAS AND STEVEN SPIELBERG WITH A BAZOOKA BECAUSE OF THE CENSORSHIP OF THEIR OWN MOVIES!!
I chose fashion because I can’t draw kisses for the life of me lmfao
I had never drawn Tweek with his metrosexual outfit and I must say he looks adorable in it!
I don't have much to say about this drawing. I tried doing a simple style so I could finish this drawing and the previous one on the same day so yeah. My arm hurts now :D
Still, I used the same new Ibis brushes that I had used in the previous drawing, and they're so fun!! They feel like I'm painting with crayons
