aaaaaskfdjskjsdf ok this is just going to be a word vomit because rn my head is like *brain haze* bc i’m feeling way too many things and i’m still reminiscing about the concert last night and like, reflecting on my last 1.5 years with seventeen, or i guess technically last 6 years? my god.

listening to rock with you is gonna turn into a crying trigger for me at this point because I’VE FINALLY EXPERIENCED IT LIVE NOW. I LITERALLY SAW THE GUYS PERFORM IT IN FRONT OF MY EYES WITHIN LIKE 40 FEET OF ME. i saw them last night!!!! what the fuck!!!!!!! one of my favorite songs of all time and my emotional attachment to it...

EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY EYES I JUST REMEMBER MINGHAO WALKING TOWARDS OUR SIDE OF THE FLOOR AND HIS EYEBROWS LIFTING SLIGHTLY/HIS EYES OPENING JUST A LITTLE MORE AT MY HEADBAND. AND THEN ME QUICKLY DOING A FINGER HEART AT HIM. AND THEN!!!!!! HIM RETURNING IT TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! MINGHAO LOOKING AT ME!!!!!!!!! I’M DELUSIONAL!!!!!!! okay obviously i know it’s just another normal fan at a concert interaction it’s literally his job. i just happened to catch his attention bc of my green kermit headband:

(fuck oakland arena for the no light-up stuff rule. i wanted to turn this on so badly. but at least he saw it during soundcheck. thank u my college friend’s roommate for making this for me Q_Q)

BUT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THE FACT THAT HE GAVE ME FINGER HEART BACK.... SOUNDCHECK WAS WORTH THE MONEY AND PAIN AND SUFFERING ALKALKJALKFDJLSKJFSD. even though we arrived kinda late we still made it on time and the livenation staff was understanding of our situation (not having the original purchaser’s ID because we bought resale), everything just worked out perfectly for us... i guess the only con of the concert was that i wasn’t quite used to adjusting my camera settings for photos/videos in the beginning, and that’s when rock with you was performed T___T as well as performance unit songs. to be fair PU’s stages had VERY bright lights so it was a challenge to take pics and videos anyways compared to HHU and VU (vocal unit was BY FAR the easiest, because they’re all standing in place lmfao). but yeah alkjasfdkj aghhhhh even though i didn’t get many good photos or videos of minghao (PLUS HE DIDN’T COME TO OUR SIDE OF THE STAGE MUCH i know he’s more of an introvert but my babyyyyy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 this is why soundcheck was worth lol)

OKAY ALSO he looked very cute yesterday :((( i jokingly call him ugly all the time because his face is not at all my type but he genuinely did look very nice in person. i’m really glad that i got to see him in the flesh instead of only knowing him through photoshopped and heavily filtered or whitewashed photos and videos. because really, that’s one of the main purposes of going to a kpop concert anyways... also i don’t like most of minghao’s selfies because they’re so filtered or warp his face in a way that looks kind of uncanny LOL. i love my honey the way he looks normally 🥺

i think for the next concert i definitely want to bring a sign to catch his attention again LOL. the headbands really worked during soundcheck (but then again that’s also only VIP so i have less competition and the lights were on). i feel like a sign asking him to be my wife in chinese would make him react more LOOOOOOL. minghao please be my lawfully wedded wife 😤

god it really doesn’t feel real that i saw them in person 26 hours ago... what the hell... minghao was less than 10 feet from me... 😭😭😭

also i got really good photos of wonwoo since he did come to our side during back it up i think. actually i wasn’t paying attention to the HHU songs ALKJADSKFDS i was only focusing on getting photos since i don’t have any attachment to HHU songs. but yeah, the wonwoo pics kinda went viral on twitter (miwon17_ reposted them LOL my kpop famous era... my dk and vernon photos as well. can’t believe dkzones reposted all my dks). even though he fell down my bias list he’s still the main reason for why i even fell into caratland in december 2020... like i literally made this blog because of him AOIWTOAASLKJSF so i cannot deny his impact 🙈 so might as well feed the wonwoorideuls. ALSO HE LEGITIMATELY DID LOOK HOT but imo he looked the sexiest during soundcheck when his hair was unstyled and he had bangs over his entire forehead. something about the hair down 2nd/early 3rd gen kpop hair that was popular when i was in jr. high and early high school that activates my hunger...... i wasn’t expecting to feel 😳 over wonwoo at any point that night but soundcheck!!!!! wow!

i really feel like i’ve changed so much since i got into seventeen... my main interests are still anime and games and i listened to kpop regularly before too (mostly girl groups) but seventeen has really given me so much to look forward to in life, or like it’s elevated my mental state to the point that i can actually appreciate and find joy in so many more things? as much as i have disdain for kpop fans (i ranted about some white girls sitting near us in vip. lol) it still really is fun talking and befriending some of them, even if i’m a specific type of kpop fan that like... cannot blend in with most normal kpop fans lol. i’m just glad my best friend irl is more insane than me so we just connect all the time. and that i have fellow lesbian/wlw minghao friends who also get the gender envy and want to eat him, but don’t actually feel romantic or sexual attraction to him...? IDK my relationship with minghao is very complex which is why i can’t vibe with most 8stans honestly but he is my honey baobei and as long as i have 1-3 people who get it (which i do!) all is well in the world <3 so while my dream of being noticed/acknowledged by minghao has been fulfilled, the next goal is to make him laugh somehow... next world tour please 🙏

god though listening to rock with you really does make me so emotional. i was basically dying when the song and mv dropped in october and 10 months later it’s still kicking my ass 😭 UGH I LOVE SEVENTEEN SO MUCH!!!! they’re part of my routine now and i’m so glad they’re still active and will be for a few more years at least. i can see them live at least 1 or 2 more times :’))) the experiences and emotions they’ve given me are things that no one can take from me

Wondering What College ‘Networking’ Is All About?

A lovely and dedicated parent recently asked, “The Best U offers guidance for college networking, what exactly does this mean?” A very good question indeed. There’s so much we love to discuss with students about finding their best fit and exploring colleges in depth, but it’s important not to overlook the ins and outs of networking as one of the factors that contributes to the overall admissions process.

For everyone who shares that ‘what exactly does this mean?’ question,

Here are a few basics to know:

What is “College Networking”?

Think of any action a student takes to engage with a college, its admissions resources, programming, and staff as falling into the broad category of networking with colleges. Much like in professional life, building a strong relationship can be an important part of the admissions process.

Who should be networking?

Students can begin to network with the colleges they are interested in or exploring as early as 9th grade, and should continue to do so through submitting applications as 12th graders.

This may start by attending a college fair and signing up to be added to an email list, and can evolve into asking questions or having conversation with representatives who conduct small group visits to high schools for juniors or seniors.

How does a student ‘network’ with a college they are interested in?:

Active Engagement: Whether its a vast, overwhelming college fair, a zoom informational session, or an on campus tour, students should focus on presenting their best selves. Looking interested and engaged in what’s being said, making eye contact, asking a thoughtful question– all of these actions contribute to the important impression that a student is authentically invested in the college.

Opting In: Believe it or not, some colleges now track whether students open the emails they send, whether they click through using the links provided, and even how much time they spend on the website. Whenever an opportunity to engage with a college presents itself, the choice to engage is a way of demonstrating interest that many colleges do take note of.

Following Up: After any personal contact with an admissions staff person, a student should send a brief, thoughtful, personal thank you note via email. This can go a long way in conveying a student’s character and making a positive impression.

Where & when does college networking happen?

In-Person: Opportunities to network with colleges of interest are presented to students in their own communities through College Fairs, Representative Visits to high schools, and regional programming and presentations.

On Campus: Any time a student visits a college campus, they should be networking. This does not necessarily mean sitting down for an interview or meet & greet. Instead, it can mean formally registering your visit by scheduling any programming offered by the admissions office including tours and informational sessions.

Virtually: Many visits, fairs, and programs are now being offered online. This makes networking accessible to more students. Networking even extends to the actions of signing up for a college’s email list, opening the emails they send, and visiting the website through the links they provide. Not all colleges are invested in these metrics, but it is important to know that this is a part of the process these days.

Why does college networking matter?

A student’s first contact with a college should never come when a representative reads their name on an application.

The work of admissions officers is to ‘yield’ strong fit, highly qualified accepted students who will actually enroll at the college. With this in mind, every opportunity to engage with a college, communicate their interest, and share their character can be a valuable opportunity for a student to leave a personal impression or a digital footprint that can be a factor, formally or informally, in the admissions process.

Have u looked at the recent Kode with Klossy stories? I noticed they featured a girl wearing a CARDIGAN ... like THE TAYLOR CARDIGAN!!! I j thought this might be a sign of Kaylor being alive and well!

you know, it’s interesting i was going to answer this question quickly by pointing out that actually there are a lot of swifties that attend kode with klossy, and on any given kwk zoom screen you’ll see someone with a Lover album background etc

and then i was going to go on a tangent about how recently i’ve been thinking about how as the years go on this characteristic of the kwk demographic is likely becoming more a matter of taylor just statistically being a popular artist with young women, rather than stemming from swifties loving taylor and karlies friendship. because it’s been 5~7 years since taylor and karlie were public friends and i think the age cap for kwk is, what, 17? 18? so theoretically speaking kwk will be getting more and more kids who were elementary school age during 1989 era.

but i digress. i went to go check on the kwk instagram stories as you said, and i found it sort of interesting that you can see from a shot of the lesson screen that

it’s actually a facilitator

that’s wearing the taylor swift ™️ cardigan.

and i just feel like, idk, the fact that this sort of thing is a non-issue for their staff is at least a little noteworthy. i think it collapses a variety of realities that people are stuck believing for some reason and for that i thank you for your keen observation ☺️

and then my mind went more places. in general it makes me wonder if subscribing to the “karlie betrayed taylor by sharing taylor’s secrets with scooter” bullshit rumor is becoming more firmly a mark of millennial swifties, whereas gen z swifties are just chillin and vibing on The Tik Tok with their fun pronoun switch singalongs.

and it made me think again about the line “i never grow up” and how there was an interview with a different popular artist recently who proclaimed she was more than happy to be making music for ‘her generation’ and not being worried about the ‘tiktok generation’ wherein music for her generation is apparently music that includes life events like marriage kids divorce and parenting… and i thought that that was oddly bad messaging in this climate considering not exactly everyone in ‘our generation’ has had the freedom to experience those milestones, and then i thought about how taylor went and made two albums about (in her words) fictitious adult characters experiencing such milestones, and although how from my perspective she’s had a few of those milestones (or shades of them), from a general gaylor lens, painting in broad strokes, it would be harder for a closeted taylor to accrue the experiences apparently needed to inform this so-called quintessential 30-something music, and instead, she has found haven in the more accepting younger generation, while still collaborating on a dad rock album, and there’s a lot of layered irony and complexity behind the subtle sniping that was going on there and it’s such a shame it probably went over most peoples heads.. and i was even more grateful for your ask because it strung together a couple of disparate thoughts i have had over the past few weeks ☺️

theres alot under the cut, warning : its cheesy, also, i headcanon raihan calling leon "bubu"

Raihan is really good at baking and leon is great at cooking savory & spicy food, raihan likes spicy food and leon likes baked goods, they complete each other

Leon so thick and firm he'd be so good to hug and raihan took advantage of that, holding his bubu until leon complains or whine, yknow when ur pet looks so cute and u hug them, like that

leon contacts name on raihans phone is like "♥💖my bubu♥💕", but raihans contact name on leons phone is "Raihan" with capital R

raihan complained about it, showed leons contact name on his phone, leon is surprised bc he thought his contact name on raihans phone is just "Leon" or "Lee"

then leon changes rai's contact name too "🥰raihoney💖

leon doesnt look like the guy who'd be extra on hair and skin treatment, the reason his hair and skin (especially his hair) is unbearably soft and shiny is bc raihan kept reminding him to do so (and buying it)

sometimes leon act spoiled so raihan will do an entire haircare for him

yes raihan do it bc he loves leon unconditionally and he thinks leon deserves it

raihan has a dirty mouth and uses every swear word but for some reasons, around leon all he can say is "jerk" "ugly" and "dumb"

raihan does that bc all he remember when hes with leon is pet names and how-to-coo-and-woo-your-boyfriend

raihan being leons moral compass feels fitting, not bc leon is dumb but bc leon himself is swallowed by his own title and got the hero complex, making him selfless and have a hard time to say no

but leon seems stubborn yes? he wont listen if people just say "no", he'd ask the reason why, and if the said person doesnt give a clear answer, he leaves but raihan always tries to explain him in full description, short & long lasting damage, consequence etc

raihan playfully growls while squeezing leons body parts but its definitely not so playful in leons mind

raihan always ask leon to wear his freshly-washed-hoodie at sunday so when he go to work at monday, his hoodie will smell like leon

raihans laugh is like "aha haha haha *low volume wheeze* phew heehee" and leon got a laugh that can trigger an earthquake

Raihan sneeze like a kitten while leon sneeze like a buldozer

Leon muffles his laugh by hugging raihan so it wont surprise anyone around them

leon demanding affection from raihan by giving him stupid empty threats

In reality, leon doesnt need to do "things" to get raihans attention, raihan told him he can just ask or "just sit on my lap or tug my shirt and ill cuddle and kiss you till the next day", but leons ego is too high for that so he does stupid shit instead

raihan is very loved by leons family bc surprisingly hes able to stop leon and hop from fighting

if u ask how, raihan simply pick up leon up and walk away

aihan is the only guy who leon will listen too and got called as the "champion tamer"

but all raihan do is just

then nag him softly while explaining the consequences, sometimes short and long term effect it depends on the situation

leon is stubborn, so it took sometime to convince him that his plan or an action he almost took to partake is very impulsive or doesnt give a good result

the thing is leon is not stupid, infact hes quite brilliant, therefore its hard to convince him if a person who tries to stop him doesnt have a similiar mind like he is, but thankfully theres raihan

for some reasons raihan is able to found leon in any occasion so the league staff ALWAYS calls him whenever leons gone

raihan : is it leon

league staff : yes

raihan : im on my way

leon likes to ask raihan for hairbands bc he kept losing them

raihan : bubu, isnt this your third time asking for them this week

leon : ....yes..?

raihan spoiling leon bc he feels he wants to make up for him, bc he wasnt available near leon when fought eternatus

leon follows raihan everywhere in the winter and kept pressing himself to him, whenever raihan question whats wrong leon just looked him in the eye and "im warming you up"

leon is small by raihans perspective but he hugs leon tight anyway

raihan is possessive of leon hes THAT hot, charismatic yet very adorable, leon is the one who keeps his chin up and soothe his fears, and hes the champion, everyone wants the champion, u think he'll let go that easily? no, never

and leon is probably possessive too, raihan is a hot nerd, affectionate and gentle, hes the one who push him to his best, the one who also stops him for doing too much, hes his source of comfort and he wont let go and wont let anyone take his raihan away from him for sure

10 years of friendship and healthy rivalry means 10 years of being on each others live, being one of the biggest contributor and supporter for the other, who pushes to the limit yet stopping when one is too close to the edge of the cliff

no matter if its platonic or romantic, they wont let anyone take their rival, friend and lover away that easy, you wont let anyone try to take away one of the important and huge part of your life

raihan big, so hes the big spoon, he loves cooing right at leons ears and kissing the back of his neck, shoulders and sometimes reaches forward to press a sloppy wet kiss to leons cheek

leon crying to raihan when he founds out raihan smokes when hes stressed out, and begging the other to stop and talk to him instead or cope with healthier way

raihan doesnt need an alarm clock to wake him up, leons just need to grin and say "good morning!" its so bright it WILL wake him up

raihan and leon lives together and since then the outfit leon has on his wardrobe is a collection of formal tailored outfits and his battle tower outift, some booty shorts and work out clothing, and obviously underwear and socks.the rest he just stole from raihan

especially t-shirts, hoodies, and jacket, raihan seeing him walking and opening his wardrobe after shower is such a common occurence that he doesnt even need to ask anymore

raihan looks like the type who carries lipbalm and hand cream in his hoodie pocket, he carries 2, 1 cocoa lipbalm for him and honey lipbalm for leon. whenever he met leon, he applies the lip balm on him, it becomes habit that leon even raise his chin up for raihan

leon can sleep alone fine, but when he woke up he felt groggy,but if he slept on top of raihan he'd woke up like he had a perfect 8 hours sleep even tho he slept for only 5 hours

raihan is a heavy sleeper but waking up with leon glued to his chest/back make his whole day better,especially when he woke up to leon peppering his face with kisses to wake him up

raihan being lowkey flustered and overwhelmed by leons beauty/cuteness/sexiness/everything while leon is being clingy and acting spoiled around him

leon cant be serious around raihan, when he saw the gym leader,he automatically let his guard down infront of him, changing from champion leon to leon from postwick, all giddy and happy

leon unzips his champion outfit and once raihan heard the zipping sound he zooms to leon to plant his face between leons chest

if leon wants attention from raihan he will do various things from holding his arm and press his head to raihans shoulders,sitting on his lap and loop his arm around raihans neck,hugging him from the front and put on a cute face

but if raihan wants attention he just, hug leon from behind,put his head on leons shoulder and doesnt let go until leon does SOMETHING

leon has been taking care of others for so long,so when raihan takes care of him ,its a new,yet quite familiar feeling.

its hard to accept since he felt bad about receiving the attention,but raihan kept doing it until leon tend to act spoiled around him

raihan always kiss leons forehead before he sleeps,when raihan is away, he has the urge to videocall raihan so he can coo him to sleep,but hes too embarrassed to do it

he thought abt that and raihan suddenly videocalling him,its noon on the region he visited, and hes like "heeeey, i just want to say good night to my beloved!! good night leon,sweet dreams,sorry bc i cant kiss your forehead but ill kiss u 10x more when im back"

raihan actually helps leon on taking care of his dragons, which made leons dragonmons actingspoiled around raihan,and sometimes leon thinks that his dragons loves raihan more than him

raihan plays with his dragonmon as if hes playing with a yamper,calling them "cute little babywubby" and playing with their hands,kissing their foreheads and lays with them on the floor,and of course leon joins in by laying on top or next to raihan

even leon have seen raihan carrying his dragapult like a baby with a baby axew hugging his legs, raihan is legit a dragon pokemon magnet

raihan has a habit of cooing or complimenting at leon even when hes doing the simplest thing ever and leon feels giddy like a 5 y.o everytime raihan does it

Keepers of the Chaos (Chapter 2)

Summary: Tam, Linh, Keefe, Biana, and Fitz are part of the tiny fandom for Keeper of the Chaos, and Tam and Linh's podcast convinces some of their other friends to watch it as well. The group finds themselves strangely invested in this show, where students at Tumblr High School who work together to write about an elf named Sophia, cause incomprehensible chaos, and fight their rival Pinterest High School.

Sophie rolls her eyes as she opens the link her girlfriend sent her and puts in her earbuds. Biana has been incessantly pestering her to watch Keepers of the Chaos for so long that Sophie half wants to watch it just to shut her up, but she's always tired, or busy, and she doesn't really like watching new things. Still, Biana asked her very nicely to listen to this one podcast, and she looked very pretty when she asked, so Sophie's dumb omni ass couldn't refuse.

"Welcome to the Twins of the Chaos podcast," it begins after loading for an obnoxiously long time. The girl speaking has a pretty voice, Sophie has to admit- sweet and melodic and vaguely amused.

Maybe listening to this podcast won't be so bad if she can listen to that girl's voice the whole time.

But another person speaks, adding "Where some chaotic twins discuss our favorite show, Keepers of the Chaos," and his voice is not as pretty. She continues listening anyway, since Biana may or may not murder her if she stops.

The two voices- whose names are Linh and Tam, apparently- start talking about Keepers of the Chaos some more, giving Sophie a summary she's heard tons of times from Biana and Fitz- though the twins explain it slightly more coherently and with less... whatever the verbal equivalent of keyboard smashing is. Biana usually starts rambling about her favorite characters, like Lynn- not "Lynn the fandom mom," but the other Lynn- and Avery, or sometimes Nora and Darwin. Sophie doesn't understand any of those names and loses track of the conversation as soon as it involves too many unfamiliar names.

But Tam and Linh are making more sense, at least for the most part, until they start mentioning specific couples. The conversation gets again comprehensive soon enough, though, and Sophie does smile at the name "The Dark Duck."

By the end, when Tam says "half of them wearing sleeping masks with teal eyes painted on and the other half watching the chaos with mild amusement," Sophie is curious enough to be mildly intrigued. She listens to their outro music, and before she can regret it, types out a text message to Biana.

Sophie: fine

Sophie: ill watch it

Biana responds instantly with an array of heart emojis. Sophie blushes.

Biana: can i come over and watch with u?

Sophie: ok!

Sophie: moms making mallowmelt

Sophie: but u cant have any

Biana: >:(

Biana: hope u like being single then

Sophie: fine u can have some mallowmelt

Biana: yayyyy!

Biana: ily

Sophie: ilyt

Sophie: now lets watch ur stupid show

Biana: on my way!!!

Sophie smiles, shaking her head. She's a little annoyed, but fine, it sounds interesting enough from the podcast. And what else would she be doing? Studying? Having US history as an alternative would make even the most horrible of shows seem good. She stuffs her textbooks into her backpack and shoves some things out of the way so her room looks a bit neater before rushing downstairs. The mallowmelt smells good enough to make her mouth water.

"Mmm..." she sighs, barely taking time to let it cool off before taking a large bite. "That's so good. Thanks, Mom."

Edaline smiles. "You're welcome. Just save some for your father and I."

"Fine, fine. I have to share with Biana, anyway." Sophie huffs and takes another bite. "She's coming over, is that alright? We're going to watch a show together."

"Sure, just make sure to get your homework done."

Sophie rolls her eyes. "Fine."

"And keep the door open!" Grady calls. Edaline laughs as Sophie's face flames.

"I'm going back to my room," she grumbles, taking a plate of mallowmelt with her and walking up the stairs. She manages not to trip over her own feet and drop the mallowmelt, thankfully, as she grabs her laptop and opens Netflix. Sighing, she searches for Keepers of the Chaos and clicks on the show that comes up before waiting for Biana to arrive.

The doorbell rings soon, and Sophie carefully sets down her laptop and her plate on her bed before rushing down the stairs. Panting slightly, she opens the door for her girlfriend. Biana's wearing a t-shirt with the Amsterdam flag on it. Sophie has no idea why. Maybe Biana likes the country? Her girlfriend is pretty weird. "Come on in," she says, realizing she's been staring. In her defense, Biana is pretty and Sophie is very omni.

"Ready to go watch Keepers of the Chaos?" Biana asks. She bounces on her toes slightly.

"Alright," says Sophie. "I set it up on my laptop in my room."

"Awesome! You'll love it."

Sophie follows Biana up the stairs and into her room. They sit on the bed together, Sophie leaning against the wall and Biana leaning against Sophie, and Biana presses play. Somber kazoos begin playing in the background as the theme song starts.

We're on the edge of chaos

No one is straight

We're making fanart

Because L*ura we hate

And we're gonna have teal eyes in the end!

We must be weird, and we must be gay

We will find every bit of sanity that we have

Biana dances a little along with the song, and Sophie can't help but smile. A curvy, round-faced person with short dark hair and colorful earrings plays a few notes on the piano, and then a KEEPERS OF THE CHAOS logo flashes across the screen. Then, a group of students sit in a classroom.

"Shai! Tater! Lynn! You three finally got together?" says the same person who just played piano, gesturing to a redhaed wearing a Sappho lesbian flag cape. She's holding the fingerless-gloved hand of a lanky person with brightly colored hair, and they're holding hands with a tall girl who has chin length brown hair. The rest of the class applauds the fiancees before returning to their own conversations.

"Yep! Thanks, Ink," says Tater.

Ink smiles at them and turns to a person with light brown skin and golden hoop earrings partially covered by long dark hair. "Hi, Kiri, how was your break?"

"Good! Here's to a good 2021?" Kiri turns to the person next to them. "How about you, Ref?"

Ref has short brown hair and red glasses. "Yeah, my break was dOPE," she says, leaving everyone to wonder how he did that with their voice. "oH, and happy belated Hanukkah to Shai!"

"Thanks, you too. And guess what! I didn't set my hair on fire this year!"

A short guy with strawberry blonde hair looks concerned. "Um. Congratulations?"

"Thanks, Sam!"

Sophie looks away from the screen and at Biana. "There are a lot of characters..." she mutters.

"Yeah, but you get to know them well enough eventually," says Biana. "Now shh, let's keep watching!"

A lot of other characters are introduced in various conversations, and Sophie's brain has a hard time keeping track of them all. She does remember Tara, a curvy, bored-looking girl with long sideswept bangs, and Blue, a bisexual who may or may not be an arsonist. She doesn't know either of their personalities very well yet, but she likes them so far. Lucat, a pale, blue haired asexual, who later joins the Hanukkah conversation, also seems cool.

Once quite a bit of introductions are done- Sophie lost count at around twenty something- are over, an announcement comes over the school's loudspeakers.

"Welcome back, Tumblr High School!" announces a voice. "I hope you all had a good break. Now, the Tumblr staff have an important announcement for you all. High schools in this county, like ours, Pinterest High School, and Instagram High School, will be holding a competition. All members of the winning team will receive a scholarship to AO3 college. If you are interested, meet in room 69 after school. Now, onto other announcements..."

Somber kazoos play again as the principal's droning voice fades into the background. A montage of the previously introduced characters wishing they could go to AO3 college moves across the screen. After a few minutes of them zooming through school and talking about how fucking boring it is, all of them gather in the room (some of them with more jokes than others) to discuss the competition.

A blonde woman welcomes them into the room. They wait a while to make sure no one else will arrive, but once everyone is there, the woman clears her throat. "Hello, everyone! I'm glad you're interested in joining the competition. My name is Shannon Messenger, and I'm in charge of admissions at AO3 College. My coworker L*ura and I designed this competition."

Sophie gasps and looks at Biana. "L*ura? But isn't that the person they hate? They said that in the intro!" Biana smiles at her, and she blushes as she realizes that she's kind of... maybe... invested in the show now. She decides she'll endure the "I told you so"s later and looks back at the show, trying to telepathically tell the characters not to trust this L*ura person... and perhaps not Shannon either. It's too early to tell whether Shannon will be an antagonist or not.

"All of you will be working as a team to write a story together. The main premise is that a twelve year old girl named Sophia is a telepath, but she can't tell anyone her secret. Then, she meets a teal-eyed boy named Finn, and he tells her that she's an elf. She travels back to the elf world with him, where she struggles a bit at the elf school Firefox, makes friends with some other elves, learns that she is an illegal creation of a rebel group called the Dark Duck, and another rebel group- the Rarelynoticed- tries to kidnap and kill Sophia and her friend Deck. There are other details to be included into the story, which will be given out to the participants as a packet. The object of this competition is not to determine your ability at coming up with story ideas, but your ability to work in groups and execute well developed ideas. Does anyone have any questions?"

Someone raises their hand- a short, tanned girl. "Lynn?" prompts the principal.

"Did you say the rebel group was named the Dark Duck?"

"And the Rarelynoticed?" adds another person, with rectangular glasses and a red bracelet.

"Raise your hand before speaking, Auran," scolds the principal. "But yes, those are the names."

"Alright then," Auran mutters.

"Unless anyone else has questions, we'll be sending out sign up forms for everyone interested, and then we will distribute the information packets about your story. You can talk to each other and start planning."

No one else has questions, so once they've all filled out the sign up form, they gather in small groups and flip through the packets, making sarcastic comments or mocking names ("'Rarelynoticed' though-" a stylish hijabi named Raiin sighs as they come across a page of information about the group) as they try to form some semblance of a plan. Once they all agree that they've made a lot of progress, they make plans to meet up again soon and walk back home.

Unbeknownst to them, a pair of ominous teal eyes watch from above.

Somber kazoos play once again, and the credits roll.

"So, what'd you think?" Biana asks as Sophie closes her laptop.

Rather inaudibly, Sophie mumbles "It was good."

"What was that?"

"It was good! I liked it!"

Biana grins. "I told you so." She leans over and kisses Sophie on the cheek. "Thanks for watching it. I have to go do some homework, awesome seeing you!" As she walks out, Sophie hears her singing under her breath. "We must be gay..."

He felt something was wrong from the very beginning. Your expression and your body language seemed strange, he thought. You weren't the same, you seemed tired and weak. Instead of enjoying your performance that he had looked forward to, he worried that something would happen to you.

When you actually fell to the floor, he gasped. He didn't want to act reckless and risky, like rushing on stage or making a ruckus where he was, so he simply observed the whole situation until it had calmed down. When your performance had ended, he sneaked backstage to check if you were alright.

Namjoon

He had warned you, you gotta rest, eat and drink lots of water. He suspected something was up with you as soon as he saw you, but he was so excited to see you perform that he didn't think much about it. When you suddenly fell down in the middle of a dance move, his body reacted first. He was about to make his way to you, but just after a few seconds, he realized how that would look in the media, so he calmed down. He looked around, watching how the staff and your fellow members (if you're not a solo artist) handled the situation. He was sure your staff could take good care of you, so he didn't run backstage to check on you. However, he did go to see you when things calmed down.

Hoseok

He wasn't that nervous about your performance, he knew you were awesome so he was mostly excited. He was so into the whole performance, smiling brighter than the sun and singing along to the lyrics, just like all other fans did, but as soon as he unexpectedly saw you fall, his smile disappeared instantly. His eyes were wide open, as was his mouth. He couldn't stop thinking about you fainting on stage, so he waited anxiously until everything calmed down before he ran backstage to check up on you.

Yoongi

He digged your performance and noticed all details. He only looked at you through the whole thing, the other things didn't interest him. Watching you as you danced, he saw you starting to zoom out and stumble. As he suspected, you were exhausted. He wasn't shocked when you fainted. He knew you were going to be alright, he mostly looked so you didn't fall on top of something, or hit your head badly. After the performance he wanted to see you, and give you a serious scolding about how you have to take care of yourself better in the future.

Jimin

This guy sang along and danced to your performance just as much as your fans did. He loved seeing you dance and loved hearing your voice, so he simply didn't notice the signs of exhaustion due to how hyped and thrilled he was.

Jimin would act right away when he saw you fall, trying to make it backstage to get to you as fast as possible. He didn't care about anything else than make sure you were okay. The media could say whatever, he didn't care. You came first.

Taehyung

He would enjoy your performance to the fullest, watching all hard work you did, thinking about how many hours you must've practised. However, after a while he noticed you seemed to zoom out a lot. He prayed that you wouldn't faint or get sick, and when you actually fell to the ground he would observe the situation just like Namjoon did. How the staff and your fans handled the situation. He wouldn't try to interfere, instead he would try to sneak backstage immediately and wait for you.

Jungkook

He was proud watching his man perform. Since Jungkook himself is someone who would practise until his body breaks down, he was afraid you were the same. He had told you to take care of yourself but he doubted you listened to him as he watched you on stage. As Taehyung, Jungkook would notice how you started to zoom out and he hoped for the best. But, you fainted, and Jungkook's eyes shot up and he furrowed his eyebrows. He waited a moment to fully understand the situation before hurrying backstage. Just like Jimin, he didn't care about the media, he just needed to get to you.

Hey that's a great question. A local non-profit called Neighbors for More Neighbors (part of the national NIMBY network) was just having this conversation recently, wondering if there's a way to get local campuses involved in advocacy. I'd love to figure that out, also for my own ThreadATL non-profit.

Any ideas you have would be appreciated. The problem with my organization is that we're all volunteer, and have too little time in our individual schedules to manage other volunteers.

For right now, the only urbanism-related organization in Atlanta (that I'm aware of) with full-time staff is the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition. They're able to organize volunteers because of it. So I can recommend contacting that group to see what opportunities they have.

Apart from that, we have a huge need for people to attend Zoning Review Board meetings and Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) meetings. That's where a lot of stuff happens that ends up having a big effect on the urbanism of our places. It's a big ask (those meetings can be deadly dull) but if you're up for it, find out what NPU you're in and attend the meetings. They're usually available to attend via Zoom.

“Dedede, get off the cart.”

“Aww, but why? Riding on these is always the best kind of fun!”

Meta Knight sighed, landing beside the king. “The Dees and I came here to help you gather supplies for the construction of the Buddy Tower, not to supervise you as you act like an utter fool.”

“Mety Knight! If I didn’t know ya as well as I did, I woulda said ya hate me!”

“I’m very close to hating you if you don’t get off right now, challenge to Kirby be damned. I can very well fight him on my own terms without your help.”

“Ooh, is the esteemed Meta Knight passin’ up a challenge? Never thought I’d see the day.”

“Hmph. Come on, we need to find materials and we will not find them if you are lazing about on the cart.” The puff unfurled his wings and began to fly off.

The penguin smirked, grabbing onto the handles at the front and looking at his knight. “The way yer wordin’ yer sentences, it’s almost like yer not strong enough to pull this here cart with me on it.”

Meta Knight froze, his wings flapping slower as he landed again and turned to glare at the king. “What did you just say?”

“I’m jus’ sayin’, maybe ya don’t want me on the cart ‘cause yer not strong enough to-” Dedede’s sentence was cut off with the warrior’s paws gripping onto the handle of the cart and a fiery glare.

“I’ll show you just how strong I am.”

“Left, Meta! All the wood is on the left!” Dedede held onto his hat as the knight flew through the store at record speeds, the Dees holding to the king’s fluffy robe and clutching various materials that they’d picked up, their eyes sparkling with joy.

“Your wish is my command, my liege!” The cart and its riders skidded to the left- somehow not colliding into a single thing- and the king whooped as they flew past the paints. One of the Dees reached out, catching the handle on a bucket of yellow and pulling it onto the cart. Another Dee hooked onto some blue, and the Waddle Dee clinging to the penguin’s hat somehow managed to gather a bundle of paintbrushes.

“Right, Meta! Turn right!” A Cappy jumped out of the way just in time, a look of shock on their face as the knight, king, and Dees zoomed by on their cart.

Meta Knight briefly turned to face them, his wings flapping as quickly as they could. “I can see it! You all get ready!”

“Ya got it, caballerito!” Dedede crowed, the Dees around him chirping happily- some hanging onto their previously caught materials and others getting ready to grab onto the incoming wood. The planks passed by in less than a second, the knight’s Mach-speed flying almost blowing them straight off the shelves, but when they turned into a different aisle and the king looked back, there was a big pile of wooden planks with Dees hanging all over it, all of them trying to keep it from flying away.

“Have we got everything?” The warrior shouted, the cart hurtling down the aisle.

“Everythin’ but the tiles, an’ those are comin’ in tomorrow! Let’s go!”

“Right, the checkout is just around the corner! Get the Deden ready!” Dedede pulled a large bag of Deden out from his coat and grinned, shooting a thumbs up to the puff. “And… now!” The cashier, who had just finished helping another customer, yelped as the bag dropped onto the counter with a loud thump.

“Keep the change!” The king hollered as they barreled out the door, the cart and its riders quickly disappearing from sight.

“There,” Meta Knight said smugly, stopping the cart and gently landing on the hood of the penguin’s car. “Was that strong enough for you?”

“That was hella amazing, Meta! We shot through that store like no tomorrow! I’m so happy I’m doin’ this whole Buddy Tower thing with ya, yer so strong an’ cool! I bet the Dees loved what we just did. Ain’t that right, Dees?” The Waddle Dees cheered and nodded happily as they started loading the wood and paint onto the car.

“Well, I’m glad it was such an enjoyable ride for you all. As for me, I’m quite sure my wings will be sore for days to come. I haven’t flown that hard in years.”

Dedede smirked, leaning closer to his knight. “Sounds to me like you’re gettin’ older, Mety Knight.”

“If you still want to build this tower, I suggest you shut up before I go back in that store and tell the manager whose fault that joyride really was.”

“Hey, no need to be so harsh, caballerito! Ya know I’m jus’ messin’ with ya, an’ as thanks, I’ll serve ya ice cream in bed or somethin’.” The Dees squeaked with a job well done before the king could say anything else. “Looks like they’re done loadin’ everythin’, so if ya can watch the car for me, Meta-”

“Say no more. Hurry back, or we’ll drive off without you.” The penguin flicked his knight’s mask in retaliation, and got up to take the cart back. As he approached the front of the store, he was greeted by the manager, as well as the entire staff.

“Great King, not to sound rude, but what the heck was that?” The manager asked in disbelief.

Dedede raised an eyebrow, something that technically he can't do because he has no eyebrows; just take that as a metaphor. “Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess! Was there somethin' wrong with what me an' my precious knight did?”

“The thing wrong, Great King, is that you scared our entire staff and half the customers in the store with that… ride of yours! I appreciate your patronage and all, but I would like it much better if you were never to come back again. You and Meta Knight both.”

“So we’re bein’ banned?”

“In a word, yes.”

“Huh. Well, we do already have everythin’ we need, so that’s fine by me! Jus’ lemme return this here cart, an’-”

“No! Just… just leave it there and we’ll take care of the rest. Please, I insist.”

“Great! Thanks!” The king waved and walked back to the car with a wide grin. When he got there, Meta Knight was already sitting comfortably in shotgun, the fifty or so Dees they’d brought to help all huddled in the backseat.

“You have that grin on your face that tells me I should be prepared for something dumb,” the knight said, looking at the penguin’s face intently. “What happened?”

“Ok, so hypothetically, if I told ya we’d jus’ been banned from this here store for what we jus’ did, how would ya react?”

The warrior blinked in surprise, then groaned. “Why did I expect anything else…”

One dragon was traveled outside the Lyngarth City, as 4 of the fierced girls were embarked for the adventure. A protagonist leader girl sees an unknown place below the dragon wind with a fresh air for what is new outside.

At a local town on foot, a tiny animal chases behind the two girls, while a giant person in front of a village house named Joseph (not an actual real name) are chilling in for a monitoring upon looking out for a possible enemies and/or soldiers later on.

Two girls are heading over to the High Guardian Academy (HGA) in this same city, they are about to enroll a 1st year Magical School (which is classified in relation for the Philippines' K-12 Program of Grade 7 as Junior High) with a selected interest for what is the best roles in magic per student. Whether if you're planned to have a witch to educate, potion making, magic spells or some leisure and recreational activities to do so, this academy in Lyngarth City is just for you to enroll. There is NO online classes before that.

In magical and physical practices such as a broomstick-like magical staff takes off for a ride in higher altitudes, smashing a bouldered rock with a sledgehammer, casting the spell, shooting arrows, stabbing the enemies with a sword, and more on these to learn in a magical school of Junior High.

The best experience of teachers, expertise and maybe the professors of HGA were educating the entire school year of its magical students as subjected for the approval of the Department of Education (DepEd).

As mentioned from this first trailer, Rodriguez explains its web animated series takes place in the magical city of Lyngarth. 4 of its confirmed fictional protagonist characters where the HGA students are named to Rosemary, Sage, Parsley and Thyme. Key art poster of High Guardian Spice named James Betrez, a digital artwork person and his friend of Raye Rodriguez had come up with a final version of his art. He featured from a digital poster during a short online interview told Radyo Bandera, Amaryllis and Snapdragon are hanging out for a while, in front of the HGA. Based from this said poster art, there are bunch of the magical creatures that appears in this place around the Lyngarth City.

The former studio of Ellation Studios will be turned over possibly to Crunchy Onigiri, LLC in San Francisco, California, U.S.A.; as they rebranded into a regional anime-distributed office of Crunchyroll in Chinsinau, Moldova under the Consumer Division of Otter Media as Diez reported from a russian news site.

We contacted our news team for questioning to Crunchyroll via E-Mail and the Interactive Chat of V-CRX 2021 about the negative controversy issue of High Guardian Spice but, the streaming company manager deflects to decline for a comment.

"Jade," the manager entered the TWICE's dressing room looking for the girl. "you're the next one."

"Okay!" she got up from where she was sitting. "Wish me luck guys."

"Unnie, fighting!" Chaeyoung and Tzuyu - the only ones awake - said at the same time. She looked at them and sent them a kiss.

Jade was pretty anxious to shoot her scene.

When they gave her a set of red cropped top and red leather shorts with a wet white dress to put on - almost transparent-, she was kinda suspicious if that would look the same way they thought it would.

"So," the director said when he saw her. "do you already know what you gonna do?"

"They only told me to lay down and sing." she said laughing. "Kidding, I know."

The staff also laughed.

"As you are the evil one in the history, we wanted to not let this so subtle as the other girls because, according to your boss, you're kinda that the evil one on the group too." the director explained at her. "So, with the transparency of the dress and the contrast of the red outfit, it's gonna look cool with the whole theme. Okay?"

"Wow, I love my boss as much as he loves me." she said smiling. "Fighting."

"Fighting." he said.

She took off the jacket she had on and handed it to the manager, who helped her to lay on the tagged place. Although she wasn't confident about the shoot, the whole scenery they made for the theme was really pretty.

JYPE held no budget for the MV.

"We're focusing on your mouth first." the man warned her. "The camera will look like it's falling but don't worry, it's normal."

"Okay..." Jade said while the stylist was fixing her hair.

"Let's start!" the camera director said and played the song.

Indeed, the camera place right above her face seemed like it was about to fall, especially when it was zooming. But Jade just kept the pose until the end.

"Okay, cut!" she heard the director. "It was perfect. Now, let's go to the regular recording."

She did as she was told to: smiled, made a bad face, smirked, raised hey eyebrow, winked, but with a giant camera and thousand lights directly positioned to her face, was kinda hard.

"Okay, once again. Now, it’s a freestyle. Do what you want."

Jade could feel her face burning but luckily all the thin layers of makeup wouldn't show that. She was so embarrassed that at least ten people were watching her that she couldn't even control her body. She just wanted to finish that quickly.

She ran her hands through her body in the same rhythm as the camera was following them, hoping that that would be enough. Even though she was focused on doing her job, she could see some people cringing behind the camera.

"YA JADE!" she heard someone calling her and just popped her head up to see a happy Nayeon recording the screen. "YOU LOOK HOT!"

Jade giggled and tilted her head back, supporting her weight on her elbow.

"WOAAAAAAH," Sana showed with the other seven members behind her. "Jade~ssi, now I know why you go to the gym so much. Look at her tights!"

"Now I know why someone felt so hard for you." Momo also teased the girl that now, was looking for a hole to hide her face. "Can you please record that for me?" she asked the cameraman who was recording the Behind the Scenes, pointing at Jade.

"Guys," Jade said trying to cover her embarrassment. "stop it!"

"This is why Jade is our visual everyone." Jihyo said to the camera. "She's so hot, oh my God."

"Okay Jade, you're done..." the director said without a lot to be said. "Do want to see it?"

The manager quickly ran at her, giving her jacket back so she could cover herself and helping her to get up. When she got up, all the members started to clap and Jade started to laugh.

"What is wrong with you?" she asked laughing and heading to the monitor to check if the shoot was fine. "You were sleeping like, five minutes ago."

"We heard your beautiful voice..." Mina hugged her from behind and also watched her scene.

The lenses they were using made the fake grass greener and her white dress with the red of the top and the shorts truly gave a special contrast to the scene. Her golden over-the-knee boots and her black hair with the makeup also helped a lot. Jade was feeling proud of herself.

"Wow..." Tzuyu said showing up beside them. "You're looking like one of those american actresses. When I grow up I want to be just like you."

Jade and Mina cracked up with the girl's exaggeration.

"I don't know what to do with you anymore." Jade said still giggling.

They all focused on the last part of the shoot, almost not blinking trying not to lose the details. When it was over, they all grasped.

"I think I just fell in love." Dahyun whistle and Jade turned at them, blushing.

"You guys are incredible."

“But seriously,” Sana got closer to Jade holding her cellphone. “can you please take a picture with me?”

“Do I have the option of saying ‘no’?”

“Hmmmmm, no.”

Zooming into the photo her eyes widened. Amy Amaranth. The name rang a bell for some reason but she couldn’t pin point why. It had rattled her mind all night, upon her arrival - she noticed Olivier and suddenly a lightbulb struck.

“Hey....” Sounding panic stricken, Olivier looked her concerned.

“Bonjour belle. Que se passe-t-il?” Hello beautiful. What is the matter? Luckily Riley knew French, not fluently but enough to hold a conversation out.

“Amy Amaranth....” Riley didn’t require to say anything else, the look of horror was now painted across the Frenchman’s face.

“That’s a blast from the past...”

“Sneak away with me for a bit? I need you to refresh my memory, Olivier.”

“I think that you and I need to talk young Walker... over the years, the injuries... they weren’t accidents either?” Remaining silent, Drake concentrated looking at the crack on the floor. As if he was hypnotised.

“Drake! Answer me! I promised your father that I would look after you. If you don’t tell me I can’t help you.”

“No they weren’t accidents, Bastien. I lied. I’m sorry.” Kneeling down, he looked into Drakes eyes- reassuring him that he would be there always. “Who did all of this to you, son. Tell me.” Drake removed his shirt, Bastien gasped as he could visibly see markings. “The Ki-the King did this....”

Drake explained how every time he stood paralysed with fear, attempting for his body not to tremble as it would result in more abuse. “He was embarrassed.... that he had to take myself and Savannah in. Every time I avoided doing noble things he would shout at me, saying I was lucky that I had him ... asking why I was ungrateful. Why I couldn’t act noble like Sav?” Explaining all this felt like relief in some way. That he didn’t have to hide the abuse from everybody. The ‘sulky’ attitude that he had helped cover the true facts up. Describing how the King would have bloodshot eyes, as well as the thick saliva that formed around his mouth as he spat towards him. Once he was in this rage, Drake just responded with a gesture such as shaking or nodding his head or one worded answers- fearing what would occur if he said or did anything wrong.

“He threatened to put me up for adoption if I didn’t abide by his rules. There are blanks, half of the time I don’t remember things. But he just acts all normal as if nothing has happened. I want to leave Cordonia as soon as I can, Bast. But what would people think?”

“Don’t you worry about it. You have me. I will not allow him to hurt you again. Do you understand me? Go back with the others. I need to go and see someone.” Drake brushed past Bastien, knowing that he was about to re-enter the cabin and be questioned by everybody. Keep up with the fall lie. “Oh Drake, I think that Andy appreciates you for defending his daughter. But she can look after herself. Trust me. She’s stronger than she looks.”

“How do you know?”

“Instinct. Just like instinct tells me that you wouldn’t defend any girl. I know how young men’s minds work. That girl punched Nate back. I wouldn’t worry about him anymore, she’s got your back. See you later, son.”

A/N: This has been in my drafts since January, I never posted it- just because I’ve been so busy with other things.

Book: The Royal Romance

Pairings: Liam x Riley, Maxwell x Riley

Liam poured himself a scotch in his quarters, ever since his unexpected introduction with her- for some reason he couldn’t stop thinking about everything regarding the mystery lady. Inviting Drake and Maxwell over, he needed a distraction. A big one at that.

“Li? Are you okay?” Drake asked the moment he set foot in the room. Usually Liam wouldn’t send out an SOS, he would just get on with things. As a future king would do.

“Yes, I’m sorry for disturbing you both. The whole situation regarding Leo’s abdication- it’s just not fully sunk in yet. I don’t know if I will cope with the social season- I don’t want that.” Pausing, Drake chewed on the inside of his cheek- not really knowing how to respond. All of their life they had assumed that all the responsibility would revolve around Leo. The eldest prince. The rightful future monarch. “I met someone today......” Liam continued, both of his friends gazes focused onto him- both noticing the sudden sparkle surrounding his baby blues.

“A little birdie told me that you met Riley today...” Maxwell interrupted, whilst scoffing his face with a box of an unknown delicacy to the two men stood near him.

“Who?”

“Riley Brooks. Liam’s new ‘personal assistant’. She’s awesome. A bit boring when she’s at work, but she’s very motivated- she delivers her work to the highest standard. You’ll be fine with her by your side, you can trust her with anything.”

“And how do you know her, Beaumont?”

“She worked for us, but then we got into a bit of money trouble. Don’t ask. Bertrand will kill me if you both knew. Anyway.... I promised that I’d find her a new job as we had to let all of our staff go. I had to grovel with the King to give her a chance. That wasn’t a pretty sight, I’m surprised that I’m still walking to be honest- he looked as if he was going to kill me. Once your social season ends she will probably go back to New York. I will miss her.”

“Maxwell, tell me everything about her. I’d like to know.”

“Erm... what exactly do you want to know, Liam?”

Zoom Theater Review (an actor’s perspective)

PRO: after a long night of tech, u can simply put ur pajamas on and crawl into bed, no longer do u have to put on street clothes and have a scary little walk in the dark !

PRO: during breaks, u have access to allll the snacks u own :P

PRO: banter in chat dms DURING REHEARSAL without anyone telling u to shut up :D

PRO: u can totally go on ur phone or have a snack or do whatever during tech/rehearsal when ur camera is off and as long as u come back on at the right time NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW >:)

PRO: ur loved ones can all see ur show, even the ones who never normally get to because they live so far away, bc it’s all online !

CON: no banter during breaks as everyone just turns their camera n mic off :/

CON: there is simply. spike tape. on ur desk and on ur floor. bc that is ur “set”.

CON: if ur internet goes out u may simply be yeeted out of rehearsal. this has never happened in a physical rehearsal.

CON: when the rehearsal/recording process ends u will actively want to stay on zoom for the first time ever as u hover ur mouse over the leave meeting button and desperately utter another “goodbye” and another “thank you” and another “i love you all” because there will be no standing outside the theatre chattering and no last goodbyes shouted across dark streets and no lingering walk home but finally u have to click the button because the production staff needs to have their meeting and then u sit all alone in ur room in ur costume with the ring light still on and u have a little cry because that was it. it’s ended. but part of u feels like it hasn’t even happened yet.

if my math is correct, that is 5 pros and 4 cons. which, as 5 > 4, would seem to indicate that the pros outweigh the cons, however. the VIBES are simply. not the same :/

zoom theatre has been an adventure and a half, and i’m glad i’ve gotten to experience a more filmic style of acting, but i cannot wait until i can once again do live theatre in real life with real people in a physical place that is not my room.

Just beat the Mass Effect Trilogy for the first time today [spoilers]:

Needless to say, where the fuck was I the last fucking decade.

I'm hardcore into the Dragon Age series because I love fantasy and, in general, don't care for sci-fi series so I didn't feel the need or rush to play ME yet because DA seemed enough for me especially with DA4 in development. I finally bunkered down to play at the end of last year because 1. my cousin wouldn't play the older DA games until I played ME and 2. I met a new coworker who came to work one day (before quarantine of course) with an N7 sweater and I recognized it even though I didn't play the games. He quickly became one of my best friends and we meet weekly (since we started working remotely) to chat about work and nerd things. He is super into Mass Effect and convinced me to start once and for all. It became a cool bonding experience (like sharing our *ahem* interest in James and Kaidan lol) to play the games and chat to him about it and theorize as I went along for the first time. We bought each other ME stuff for Christmas and want to cosplay ME for our Halloween contests at work now haha.

I was absolutely not prepared for the doozy of a rollercoaster ride that this series was. It was insane to me how much more intense the games became one after the other. I wasn't used to that (from my DA experience). ME1 was great and I loved it as a standalone (like Pirates of the Caribbean 1 haha) with giving me enough world building, but cleanly wrapping up the story imo. I knew I would be in good hands for the rest of the series. So many things were different from DA that, honestly, I really did not expect. For example, squad mates actually dying and you have no choice in some cases. I'm a sucker for happy endings even if it means keeping an annoying companion around so this was definitely a shock. But, in a way, it made me love the characters so much more. My absolute favorites were Wrex and James while Tali was best girl for me. If any of them died, I would've thrown in the towel on this series haha.

ME2 pissed me off at first with Cerberus and all that (especially since I played sole survivor) but I really liked the team for not being so military regs oriented. That was a cool change to have people be more informal or trash-like (*cough* Zaeed). The recruitment missions were my favorite parts of the game and it was cool to get more personal with the squad than in the previous game. The feels started to really build up in ME2 story-wise when I did the Project Overlord DLC. I never felt so sad for something in a video game; no lie. It was nice to be able to give the Illusive Man a nice big ol paragon middle finger at the end because as soon as he came out, I was like "no way I have to work with Gary Oldman in the Fifth Element" and honestly was surprised that there wasn't more freaking out from other characters (like Joker) when he set up Shepard a few times.

ME3: Here's where it aaaalll built up to and holy shit way to start off the game with a literal bang. I remember I told my friend "yeah I'm gonna start ME3 and just get enough through the game to get the first save point"........uhm........yeah right. It was so intense that I got a few stomach cramps lmafo and just restarted it because I needed time to collect recompose myself. Sooooo much can be said, but I don't want to blab on too much and annoy everyone, but let's just say D A Y U M . I was genuinely amazed at how the writer kept me guessing at every turn and throwing curveballs everywhere like, having a real life prothean on the team!? Mordin curing the genophage?! Rannoch taken back!? Protheans were the Asari gods!? Leviathan?! That dumb kid from the dream sequence is the crucible!? You can't romance my papi chulo James?! I knew people were pissed with the ME3 ending for a long time and I can definitely see why, but I think my reasons for being pissed at it are minor and selfish so I was't too disappointed. Mainly, I wanted the Shepard romance to have a nice ending that wasn't "lol Kaidan thinks she's dead again" so it could feel concluded. I have a lot of other thoughts of the story, but I'll keep those to myself or browse relevant topics to discuss them in :)

In conclusion, to the Mass Effect team of writers, developers, and the fan community, I say 'wow' and 'thank you'. The depth of the story and characters legit invoked in me feelings and emotions that I legitimately rarely (if at all) experience with video games. Dragon Age did that a few times for me, but I don't ever remember caring about a game's story and characters so much before which is a testament to Bioware's talented staff and highly creative and engaged fan communities who put out so much good fan content. I used to see comments in some ME videos saying "imagine playing the series for the first time" or "I wish I could play it all over again not knowing the story" and I now understand why. This was one of the greatest stories ever told in any media/series/franchise/whatever capacity and I'm ashamed it took me so long to play it, but am glad I didn't take longer. I'm fully engaged in this now and have been reading comics and trying to read up on more lore. Now that the story is done for me, I'm getting my boss into it by hyping him with the remaster trailer. He's a huge sci-fi geek and loves my ME Zoom backgrounds I use in meetings so hopefully I can hear about him and his son going through this awesome story for the first time like I did.
