Unpopular Encanto theory
We all remember that scene where Dolores and Mirabel were dancing while Bruno walked around in the backdrops in We Don’t Talk About Bruno, right?
But what if it wasn’t Bruno
Tumblr media
We see Bruno in the background creeping around here^
Tumblr media
Here^
And in some other brief shots
But there’s a few holes
There’s a glowing green Aura around Bruno while he’s in the background, and he has glowing green eyes. But we know Bruno’s eyes are only green when he’s using his gift, which he isn’t
However
Tumblr media
Camilo’s eyes DO glow every time he turns into Bruno in the movie
And considering the next scene right after Dolores rap is Camilo turning into Bruno on and off, it’s pretty likely that it was just Camilo masking as Bruno.
And considering Bruno seems to get all his food from his rats stealing stuff from the kitchen
What do you think?

La Famila Madrigal!
---3 YEARS LATER---
From left to right:
Isabela (24) - taking on a more regal/goddess look. Takes herself and her abilities more seriously. Spend most of her time in her plant sanctuary studying hydroponic systems and plants she has grown naturally.
Luisa (22) - has combined her physical abilities with her need to relax. PUPPY YOGA INSTRUCTOR. Based off concept art of her with puppies.
Julieta (53) - Reinventing herself as not just wife/mother/healer/cook. Dressing herself up more often and letting her hair down.
Agustin -  Swapped he and Julietas colours and it came out cute. Yes he is wearing elbow pads because it is Agustin that’s why.
Abuela Alma (78) - The butterflies on her shawl are supposed to show how she is incorporating Mirabels views into her own.
Mirabel (18) - Mirabel takes on more of Abuelas responsibilities. The family worries that as she takes on more and more she doesn’t stop to think about her own life and future.  The maroon on her skirt (representing Alma) with her own Mirabel flare. The embroidery shows all the significant events from the first film. The shoulders of her blouse are supposed to resemble butterfly wings.
Bruno (53) - Mirabel suggested that if he wants to start doing visions again he could do them as Hernando. “A decade of intense study in isolation. Praying and meditating! Now he’s back better that ever!” Makeover courtesy of his sobrinas.
Pepa (53) - She is a wreck now that she is about to become an Abuela. She’s letting her hair down more and I tried to make her dress resemble a sunflower.
Felix - Look based off of concept art. Much more relaxed now that Pepa isn’t as tense all the time.
Dolores (24) - How beautiful is she?! Living the life of her dreams gives her a healthy glow.
Mariano - Nervous about being a first time Papa, he doesn’t even realise it but he is dressing more like Felix. He hopes that by following his lead, he will be a great dad.
Camilo (18) - Pattern at the bottom of his ruana based on the border on his door. Refuses to cut his hair, keeps a liiiiiitle bit of facial hair like the other men in his family. Still causing mischief but now that he is of age, everyone is waiting for him to bring home a girl. Excited to be a Tio and Dolores keeps hinting that she wants a Tia and cousins for her baby.
Antonio (8) - Shoes? Who needs shoes? Easier to climb rock and trees to find his animal friends without shoes in the way. Backpack courtesy of Mirabel to carry treats and supplies for the animals he helps.

one of the things that i first noticed in encanto was how the majority of the people found soooo weird how luisas voice gets thin and how its more of a sutle and gentle….personally i think is very rooted in how big girls “cant” be associated with “girly things”and fatphobia.
luisa is not fat by any means, she is strong and big but people quickly associate her to the concept of fat than to “thin” people. dk if i said it right but anyways lol
and i will say that i noticed this phenomenom BECAUSE i am a bigger girl than the “acceptable” (mid size to be correct)

I was asked for more, I shall provide.
Pedro lay on the cold frozen ground, his wails had long since been ceased for his voice had grown to hoarse to even whimper. "Pedrito", his beloved wife had whispered softly "Please come inside; the girls, they miss you, I miss you." Ah yes girls, not kids, not since. NO! Bruno, he, he had been right beside him they were almost there, just, just a few more steps and. CRACK Pedro should have seen the damned hole, if he had seen the hole his ankle would not have broke he would have been able to keep carrying Julieta, and Bruno...
His Mojito would still be alive. "Please mi amore they are scared, they need there Papa, the villagers." "Never!" He screeched so loud he was sure his throat would bleed. "Those cowards, those leaches, They took everything from us!" "Pedro." Alma stated in shock in all there many years together he had never raised his voice to her, though she conceited if there ever was a time it would be now. "They have no where else to go."
"And we have no son, our daughters, they have no brother, Bruno is dead because those pathetic bums ran when we needed them, they will get nothing from us!" "It was only then Pedro realized the house. "What?" He asked in awe and confusion "Mi vida" stated Alma when you are gifted a miracle you do not question why, eat this." She stated handing him what looked to be an arepa. He hadn't realized how hungry he'd truly been and after just one bite like magic his ankle was fixed. "Come inside, I'll tell you everything." Pedro reluctantly followed her, as he stepped inside what could only be described as a mansion atop of a hill he saw the masses who were once on higher ground, who looked down on them. "I swear to you Brunito, your name will not be tarnished by moochers ever again."

I feel like it's understated that Pepa's husband is named Felix- no one I've seen has brought it up.
I'm so in love with the choice to call him that 'cus it means happy
Not only is he a happy guy (the hurricane at his wedding didn't even put a damper on this guy's day) but also he's Pepa's happiness (of course not her only happiness) I mean literally, that's her husband and his name is happy. Plus all the times in the film he's comforting/flirting/trying to make her smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TLDR; Disney made good soup, I love the tiny details of this movie, they make me soft :///////)

Un día lluvioso - A Camilo Madrigal One Shot
He/him for Camilo, gender neutral/unspecified for reader.
18+ DNI, these are minors.
----
In which you spend a rainy day at la Casa Madrigal, cuddling with Camilo, and reading your book.
Pure fluff ❤️
----
Like many other days, you had paid a visit to la casa Madrigal.
It wasn't ment to be an all day thing, but one thing led to another, and you went from being invited in for a cup of tea to napping with your novio through the rainy day.
"Camilo! Don't you have things to do?" Called Abuela, implying his chores had gone unfinished.
"mmmh. Sí." He groaned, nuzzling his face into your neck as you still continued to stir awake.
"Mi amor, lo siento."
"Este bueno, let me help you."
"No, no, it's ok y/n, he can do them on his own, don't worry." Said abuela, now ushering him off the couch. "go, go get your work down, problemático."
"Ok ok, I'm on it" he groaned, pulling himself away from you, and off to go take care of things.
At this, Abuela gave you a smile, asked if you needed anything, then walked off to do whatever it was she herself needed to do.
You got up, looked outside to see it was still raining. With nothing much you could do other than head home, you went to Camilos' room to grab your book. Might as well make a day out of it.
Once you find it, you set yourself down onto his bed, and flip to where you left off.
After a while of reading you hear the door squeak open, and a whisper.
"¿Cariño? ¿Estás dormido? I'm coming in."
"Ay, no, I'm awake. ¿Terminaste? "
"Not yet, I've got to clean my room first. " While you continue to read, he went around the messy room, picking up things, and tossing them around, singing random songs, bits and pieces of each.
Occasionally he'd sweep by you, when he caught you humming along, and sing directly to you.
" ~quiero vivir en salsipuedes, tierra de ilusión" * he sang spinning around the bed, smiling at you, then humming the rest as he went back to cleaning.
You continued to catch snipets of other songs as well.
"~hmmm, quisiera decirte al compás de un son, hmm hmm que tú eres mi vida" *
"~la mmh El apasote, para los brotes" *
You laughed watching him dance around, shaking his hips, wrapping a scarf oved his head, and then tossing it where it belonged.
Once he was done, he shouted to his Abuela he was finished, and snuggled up on the bed with you.
"Still reading that book? Is it any good? What's it about?" He asks, running his hands through your hair, and peeking over your shoulder to read the page.
"Yeah, I'm enjoying it. This guy wants to be a knight, except he's incredibly incompetent, and out of his mind. It's pretty funny, I think you'd like it. " *
"Maybe once you've finished you could tell me the whole story. "
"What for? Why not just read it?
"Well. For one I love to listen as you tell me stories, and talk about them."
"... And?"
"Two I'm not reading a book with diez mil páginas."
You simply giggle at the dramatic Madrigal.
He snuggles back into you after this, and hums a song, one he'd heard his Abuela sing, and his mama. One that'd been passed down through la famila Madrigal.
Slowly though the humming comes to a stop. You look down to find he's fallen asleep.
With this you run your hands through his hair a few times, and kiss the top of his head.
"Dulces sueños, mi amor." You whisper.
----
*I included multiple 1950s-ish latin songs popular in Colombia, to fit both the location and the estimated time period of Encanto, and also to bring in some Colombian/Latino culture. :) I'm not Colombian, so if one of these is off or something, let me know. This one is Salsipuedes by Lucho Bermúdez.
* Amor de mis amores by Agustín Lara
* Yerbero Moderno by the queen of salsa herself, Celia Cruz
*Can u Guess this book? I'm currently reading it now, which is why I included it.

(A/N: So I was given permission to write some fanfiction about this cute concept of an OC and Camilo. The original character belongs to @ai-katsuu , and the Encanto characters belong to Disney. ENJOY! This also takes place about a year after the Rebuilding of Casitia.I will also be doing different one shots)
(3rd POV)
It's been two and a half years since Mirabel saved the Miracle and the Encanto had been rebuilt and La Famila Madrigal was slowly but surely healing from years of mistreatment, and expectations:
Isabela didn't have to be Señorita Perfecta anymore, and she began to grow new fruits and veggies with Antonio talking to the bees.
Dolores and Mariano were going strong, taking their time, enjoying each other.
Luisa was able to find a nice work life balance.
Mirabel was helping the village's children occupied with helping them realize they're special in their own ways.
Antonio's bond with the animals surrounding the Encanto grew stronger.
Pepa learned that it's okay to feel her emotions and she shouldn't fight them.
Julietta began experimenting with new recipes.
Bruno was becoming more and more adjusted to beging apart of a family again.
Alma, "Abuela", learned to open her heart and ask for help, and to be a better mother to her familia.
As for Camilo Madrigal?
Well, he was bored. Nothing exciting really happened in  Encanto. It was a constant wash, rinse, repeat cycle and the 16 1/2 year old didn't know how much more he could take. He was currently lying in a tree, enjoying the gentle breeze and the warm sun his Mamà had made today. Camilo listened to the soothing rush of the river when foot steps catch his attention. He sat up, crossed leg on a tree branch, that hid him and allowed him to remain hidden from view.
He watched as a girl with skin a smooth as chocolate, hair as brown as caramel, knelt next to the resting river. She knelt down and took her shoes off, and dipped her feet in the cool water.
The girl sighed in relief, tilting her head back as the sun that warmed Camilo a few moments ago, now warmed her. Camilo couldn't help but feel entranced by her, after all, he knew everyone in Encanto, but she was a completly unfamiliar face.
The teen leaned forward to get a peek at her, but the branch creaked under him, before snapping. "Ay!" he yelped, his foot getting tangled in a vine, holding him upside down in front of the mysterious stranger, his ruana covering his face.
She screamed at the sudden presence in front of her.
Camilo screamed back, before untangling himself and falling into the water, soaking the girl.
He sat up slowly, auburn curls falling in his eyes, water dripping down his face. He heard a soft laugh before peeking a eye at the beauty in front of him.
She held a hand out, giggling softly, "Sorry for laughing. But after a rough day of moving, I really need something silly to happen." Camilo took her hand, before grinning mischeviously and pulling her into the river with him. She shrieked with laughter as she stood up.
She was laughing, and twisting her hair, to get rid of the water. She opened her eyes and gasped seeing hazle looking at her brown eyes shyly.
"Well,now, hermosa, we're even. Mi nombre es Camilo Madrigal. My name is Camilo Madrigal, and yours?" He asked, as they rested in the sunshine. "Ang pangalan ko ay Sofia Mendoza. My name is Sofia Mendoza."

Bruno has a vision (encanto au) SPOILERSSSS (contains (mostly) angst and fluff ( btw I know this isnt cannon stop bullying me :(
Its been a year since Bruno has been welcomed back into the family. Everyone treats him nicely now, including the people in town, who he explained his reasoning for his "prophecies". Now that your all caught up, let the story begin...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bruno woke up to the sound of knocking on his door. He was used to it now though, knowing it was Mirabel, waking him up every morning to go for breakfast, their family meeting, and then going to help the people in town. He groaned as he got up and quickly threw on his shawl. Shoes shoes..where are my shoes?! Bruno thought. He had to get ready quickly! Suddenly the floor brought Bruno his sandals. Bruno jumped back then realised it was only Casita. Even though he was getting used to being so close to his family again, he was not where near close to getting used to Casita helping him out.
"T-thank you, Casita." He slid on his sandals and headed out the door. Everyone was happily waiting for Abuela to appear from her room. But after a few minutes of waiting, Bruno knew she was suppose to be out by now. Bruno watched as Juileta knocked on her door. No answer? Juileta opened the door and walked in. Juileta came out only a few minutes later, "Its okay everyone. Abuela just needs a few extra minutes getting ready. She said just head downstairs for breakfast. She'll be down soon." Everyone shrugged it off (including Bruno) and started heading downstairs.
Bruno stood at the end of the line and stayed silent as usual. Camilo and Isabela were holding up the line arguing and Bruno tapped Camilo on the shoulder.
"Hey kid you-"
Camilo screamed and he shapeshifted into Isabel, Mirabel, and then Bruno.
Isabel rolled her eyes, "Sorry Tió Bruno. Its just we didnt see you there. You can go ahead of me. Say sorry Camilo! And change back! Bruno does NOT look like that!"
Camilo changed back and looked sheepish, "Sorry Tió..I forgot you were here!" Isa elbowed him harshly, "DONT SAY THAT!!"
"What?! Its the truth!" And they both went straight back to arguing. Bruno sighed and put back his plate. He wasnt that hungry anyway. He sat down next to Félix, who smiled at him warmly. Suddenly they heard thunder. Bruno looked up and saw Pepa, who clearly wanted to sit next to Félix. "Ah! Sorry Pepa! I'll move seats." Bruno got up and Pepa sat down, her cloud disappearing. He looked for an empty chair but there wasnt one. Bruno sighed. He had to get another chair from inside again. Its been a year and I still dont have a chair. How ironic...
Bruno walked back inside to see Abuela struggling to get down the stairs without gripping the stairs tightly. Bruno ran to her side and helped her get down the steps, "Mamá are you okay? You look tired!"
Abuela seemed to try to straighten up and act like she wasnt struggling, "Im fine, Bruno. I just didnt sleep much is all. I'll be fine once I get some food in me. You can go sit down."
"I would if I could! Haha I have to get a chair from the inside."
"Oh dear..its been a year and you still dont have a chair of your own. What a shame. Casita! Can you set up a chair outside for Bruno?" Bruno watched as a chair simply glided across the floor out to the yard. Bruno led Abuela outside and sat by Mirabel, who nudged him playfully when she noticed he seemed to get anxious. Mirabel whispered, "Hey you okay Bruno?" and when Bruno didnt give a response she knew he was feeling out of place again, something that happened alot the first few days he was welcomed back. She opened her mouth to say something else but Abuela started having her morning speech.
"Today we have a lot on our hands. The celebration of the mircale is coming up soon and the towns people are deciding how we should celebrate this year. We need to help out as much as possible and show some respect to the townspeople this year. Afterall they are celebrating us. So lets go help some *cough cough* p-people." The family cheered 'La famila Madrigal!' before heading off into town. Bruno stood up and Mirabel caught up to him.
"I know that look, Tió! Dont doubt yourself! You belong in this family just as much as anyone else!"
Bruno looked up at her confused, "What?! No thats not what I was-"
"I saw how Camilo and Isabel stopped you from getting breakfast."
"I wasnt hungry I-"
"And how you had to get a chair from inside because Tiá Pepa made you move."
Bruno sighed. He reached into his shawl and threw some salt past his head and kept walking into town, pretending not to hear Mirabel bugging him. Eventually she gets called to do something else and Bruno is able to go on with his day. He tried not to think about it but as the day went by, he caught glimpses of Abuela struggling to help out around town.
Finally it was time for the Madrigals to go back home.
As the madrigals started walking back home, Bruno joined into a conversation with Agustín and Félix and for a moment his worries started to fade. Bruno even laughed with them a few times. Until dinner rolled around. Abuela was the first to sit and nothing was wrong. That was until she started coughing again. Isa and the rest of the family were now a little concered about her. But again, Abuela shrugged it off and said she had a dry throat and needed some water. She drank some water, ate only 1/4 of her food, then said goodnight to the familá. Bruno was about to get up too but Juileta seemed sad, thinking something was wrong with the food, and Bruno didnt want to hurt her feelings.
So he ate quickly and practially flew out of the room. He ran so fast his shawl came off and he had to run back to grab it. He ran up to his room, and slammed the door. He wished he had a lock on his door. He walked through the sandy mist and climbed up the stairs. He got to his cave and sighed. He set up everything and just as he set the last pile of leaves on fire he heard a voice out of breath from the door,
"This is becoming a an annual thing huh, Tió Bruno? What happened to everything being just fine?"
Bruno dropped the stick that was on fire, causing the fire to be put out by the sand. "Mirabel! What are you doing here?!"
Mirabel smiled as she sat next to him in the sand, "I could ask you the same thing." She softly nudged his arm, "You know you can tell me anything. Us family weirdo's gotta stay together, right?"
Bruno chuckled, "Your not a family weirdo anymore, remember? You not only got a door, but you have the whole house. The family weirdo club only has one member now."
"Okay..but you didnt answer my question!"
" Mirabel, this doesnt concern you. Only me and Hernando should be up here."
"Who is Her- Nope not falling for that one again." They laughed as Bruno helped Mirabel up, getting her to leave was harder then expected and he didnt know how much longer he could fake a laugh and keep changing the subject.
"But really, you should go."
"Im serious tió bruno. Tell me whats going on I just wanna help you-"
"Mirabel...-"
"I know your still getting used to being apart of the family again but-"
"Mirabel-!"
"But you wil always be apart of the family even if you missed 10 years of being with your family-"
"MIRABEL!!" Bruno realized he had yelled suprisingly loud. "S-sorry! But you need to leave...now. Please. I have to...ya know."
Bruno wasnt suprised when Mirabel stumbled back a bit but why did she...why did she look afraid? She ran out the room and down the stairs. Bruno went to chase after her but then he realized he had to choose between his mother of his niece. He looked back at his vision cave and at Mirabel. Im sorry Mirabel. I'll make it up to you. He walked back to his cave. He took a deep breath before throwing some salt behind him. He focused and soon, sand began to swirl around him.
Tumblr media
He looked up and saw...a grave...with Abuela's real name on it. That image dissapeared and the image of him being in the center of a crowd of people. They all seemed to be..yelling at him, very angry. Then there was a imagie of him sadly going back to live in the walls, which changed to him leaving town. Soon the sand fell back to the ground and bruno was presented with 2 glass visions. One was of Abuela's grave, but when he tilted it slightly, it went to Abuela dancing with bruno in town. The second one, was bruno leaving encanto and (when tilted) him slinking behind the painting. It was if there were two outcomes. He left the one with him leaving encanto in the sand and ran down the stairs with the other. He had to warn Abuela. When he opened his door, he saw his family spread out around the house.
He saw Abuela downstairs and ignoring the rest of his family, he caught up to her, "Mamá!" Abuela smiled as she saw him, "Ah, Brunito! Everything is ready for the celebration in a few weeks! Im so glad that after 10 years, you finally get to join us in this wonderful event! Ah, Im sorry! I cut you off mí híjo! What were you about to say?"
Bruno paused. "Mamá... we need to talk.. about.." Bruno held the glass vision, making sure she couldnt see what the vision was.
Abuela gasped and hugged him, "I thought you said you werent going to use your powers again! Thats wonderful! What is the vision?"
"I..can we go somewhere a bit more private?"
Before being able to answer, Bruno brought Abuela to his room and shut the door, "For the past few months, ive been worried about you. Your health seems to be decreasing and I couldnt help myself...I looked into the future and I saw this." Bruno set down the vision and tilted it slowly, "Your future is clear, yet undecided. You'll either...pass..or you'll thrive in life longer." Abuela's face dropped. She touched the vision, as if to make sure it was real. And when she realized it was real, she stumbled a bit.
"Mamá? MAMÁ!" Was the last thing Abuela heard before everything faded to black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Abuela woke up with an cold towel on her forehead. There was Camilo, right by her side. He took the towel off of her head, dipped it into a bucket, squeezed it, and as he went to put it back on her head, he noticed her eyes opening, "Abuela! Oh thank goodness, everyone has been worried sick!"
"Camilo, what happened?"
"Mamá told me not to overwhelm you with the story until after you feel better."
Abuela sat up slowly, Camilo having his hands out, ready to help her lay back down or catch her if she fell backwards. She looked out the window. Bruno was covering his ears as he walked out the front door, his family trying to talk to him at the same time.
"Camilo, tell me what happened. Now."
"Fine...just dont tell Mamá! So everyone was looking for you because the towns people had to go over a few more things about the festival. Félix was waking past Tió Bruno's room when his door burst open. When Félix asked him what was wrong, Bruno looked scared. He was trying to drag you somewhere. Félix shouted and everyone came up and helped you. Mamá- I mean Pepa was crying and causing a rain storm. After Lusia carried you back to your room, Pepa and Isabela started questioning Bruno and Bruno claimed that he hadnt done anything. But thats when we saw the vision on his bed. He tried to get us out of his room, but we all saw the vision. A vision of your...grave..Everyone was yelling at him at the same time about what it meant and he just kept his head down. After that, all the kids were kicked out of the room, including me. Thats all I know, Abuela."
Abuela stayed silent. Camilo sighed and kissed her forehead, "Its okay, Abuela. Just take a few minutes to process. I'll have Tiá make you some tea. Rest up and be careful. If you move around to much your fever will get worse." The door closed. Abuela stood up and looked out the window. She watched as Camilo ran to Juileta and spoke to her. She nodded before heading off to the kitchen.
Abuela/Alma remembered everything. Bruno was just trying to warn her. Now he was being treated like a villian..again. She'd have to explain to the family what happened but she knew her family wouldnt let her leave her room until she was better. That vision of her dead..the vision that was clear but undecided. My dear Pedro, has the time finally come to join you, mi amor? Or will I last longer? Either way, I must become at piece with this destiny. Or my death will be more painful then it has to be. For me and my family. Abuela was lost in thought about her future when there was a knock at the door. Juileta walks in with a cup of tea and an arepa, "Here Mamá, this should fix you right up."
"Thank you, Juileta. Where is Bruno?"
"I- were not suppose to talk about..him."
"What do you mean "him"? Where is my Brunito?!"
"Dont say his name Mamá! You dont want Pepa to hear you."
"What did Pepa do?"
"No one can speak his name anymore. We shouldnt even be talking about him, you know what he did to you!"
"Yes, he was trying to warn me about my future! I couldnt handle it so i passed out. He was only trying to help. He would never hurt ANY of us."
Juileta sighed, "I know, Mamá..I know..But Pepa wont let us say his name without thundering."
"Well where is "he"?"
"He left a few minutes ago with his head and hood down-"
SLAM!
Juileta and Abuela look out the window where the candle once sat and there was Bruno. He carried a large backpack and his head was still down. He held a vision in his hand as he climbed up the stairs and went to his room. I guess we found him.. Abuela sighed, "Tell Pepa to come here. I need to speak to her. Bruno was just trying to help me. He deserves to be spoken of." Juileta nodded and left without another word. Abuela drang half of her tea and ate her arepa. Pepa never came to her room that day and she had no corauge to go out and speak to her family or to Bruno. She promised herself she would in the morning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Abuela woke up to a warm breeze. She stood up and yawned. She looked out her window and saw something on the window seal. She picked it up. A letter, a rose, and one of Bruno's visions. The letter read, 'Mamá, I cannot deal with the burden of always being the family outcast anymore. Ive tried and tried to become someone the family could appreciate but its no use. I hope you contiune to live a long life. I will miss you. But at least I got one thing right...(look at vision).
-Sighed, Bruno' Abuela gasped and quickly picked up the vision. And it was an imaige of Bruno leaving Encanto. Abuela ran out of her room, coughing still. Her family were already awake and looking for him. They had all gotten a letter that morning, each specific to them. Bruno's room was empty when they got there, expect for his bed and paintings on the wall. The entire town searched for him but the Madrigal family heard horrible things about Bruno. One person said, "Its better off he's gone! I heard that he cursed Alma(abuela) and she came up with a fever and collasped!" A man said,"The Madrigals should have never trusted him. Hes a tratior of Encanto. He always was and always will be!" A mother scolded her children for saying Bruno's name,"Children! What did I say about saying his name! We dont say his name! Do you want to be cursed?" And even a group of 5-10 people said, "Camilo was right! He said Alma's name and then she passed out! I say if we find him, we kill and make him pay for what he's done to the Madrigals!" Alma gathered everyone for a town meeting. It was time to put an end to all these rumors. "People of Encanto! I have heard the things you said about Bruno! We ( the Madrigals) all have. Bruno never hurt me! He was trying to help and again, when something went wrong, the blame was set on him. I fainted because of my own fault. I became ill because I am growing old and that is what happens to elderly people! So stop this non-sense of threating to kill my son and just help us find him!" People whispered and mumbled. Suddenly someone shouted, "THERE HE IS!" and everyone turned their head. Bruno was watching from around the corner of Casita and quickly ran towards the crack in the moutains. Casita tried to stop him by moving chairs and tables to block his way but he just jumped over them. Everyone chased after him but no one was as fast and Mirabel, Camilo, Antonio, Lusia, and Isabella. Mirabel looked at Lusia, "Can you find a big rock and try to block his path?! If he gets past the moutains, we'll never find him!" Lusia nodded, "On it!" and ran off the path and found some boulders. She shouted, "Tió Bruno watch out!" before throwing them in front of him. He stopped for the boulder and mumbled, "Geez kid, almost made me as flat as an arepa!" Before running around the boulders, slowly him down but not to the point where they could catch up. Lusia, Isabella, and Camilo used up all their stamina. It was just Mirabel and Antonio left and Mirabel was nervous, "Antonio! Speed ahead of him with your jaguar and tell him to block the exit and act scary, okay?!" Antonio nodded, whispered to the Jaguar and they sped in front of him. Just as Bruno was about to reach the crack in the moutain (which could fit only a very skinny person) Antonio rode in on his jaguar and stopped him. The jaguar growled and bared its teeth at Bruno, who stumbled back in fear. Mirabel caught up and looked at Bruno. He had a huge backpack on his back and his hood was up. Mirabel sighed, "Come on, lets get you home." Bruno dropped his backpack and started walking with Mirabel. Antonio joined their side and as soon as he did, Bruno ran back towards the moutain and squeezed into the crack. He was so close but Mirabel had grabbed the hoodie of his shawl, "Tió Bruno stop! No one hates you anymore Tió! You can come home! Dont go! Please Tió Bruno! Im begging you!" "Let me go, Mira. You heard everyone. No one can even say my name anymore. Some random guys want to kill me, I "cursed" Abuela and I yelled at you. Im a bad omen, Mirabel. I always have been. This is the best option for you and the village-" "But what about you?! You wont last a day out there, Tió Bruno! You know how Abuelo died! No one wants to see that happen to you!" Bruno stayed silent before slithering out of his shawl and running through the moutain, "Im sorry Mirabel. I just need some time to clear my head. Maybe I'll come back. But..only when im ready." Bruno disappeared and Mirabel dropped down to her knees. Isa, Lusisa and Camilo ran to Mirabel. Camilo panted,
"Where is Tió Bruno?!" and Mirabel responded with teary eyes and lifted up Bruno's shawl. Camilo shapeshifted into Bruno and shimmied through the crack in the moutain and went to go look for Bruno. The rest of the family picked Mirabel up and went home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Around dinner time, Camilo came home and shook his head. Bruno was no where to be found. Camilo dragged his backpack and the family went through it. Just some regular stuff, clothes, food, and even some rats. But at the bottom of the bag was a framed photo. The glass on it was shattered and Bruno's eyes were scribbled out. It was the last family picture taken before Bruno disappeared for 10 years. On the back was written, "My family <3" All the girls exepect Alma, Luisa, and Isa were crying. The rest were holding back tears. Félix couldnt even get Pepa to calm down. Everyone put candles in front of Bruno's door and some villagers even mourned his death after a month or two. Bruno was gone. And from the looks of it, he wasnt coming back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Its already been 3 months. Everyone has given up on the fact that Bruno is alive but wont say it. Everyone felt awful for treating him the way they did, and even the kids starting blaming themselves. No one spoke at dinner anymore, because as a way to cope, Julieta started leaving out a plate of food for Bruno, that she would leave out all night and throw out in the morning, just incase he came back. So again, Julieta left a nice big plate out for Bruno and once everyone finished, they all went to bed. The next morning, Julieta went to go throw out the food when she stopped. Where was all the food?! Camilo and Mirabel walked into the kitchen after Julieta, still rubbing their eyes. Julieta looked mad, "Camilo, I told you that I left late-night snacks for you on the top shelf! You are not to eat Bruno's food!"
Camilo looked confused, "What? I didnt eat his food. I had a full nights rest. I didnt wake up once!" Julieta turned to Mirabel who shrugged. One by one she questioned the family about it and they all said they didnt eat his food. Julieta was confused, "Then where did it go?" She heard a gasp and everyone turned around to see Doleres in the back, "I hear him! I hear tió Bruno! Hes close by! Hes whispering to himself, "Dang it Doleres! Why couldnt you have stayed quiet? No stop repeating everything I say! Ah forget it." Hes on the move!" The family followed Doleres up the stairs and to Bruno's room. They arrived at the door. Mirabel whispered, "Lusia, when we open this door, I need you to get Isa in there and then block the door. Isa do you think your vines can restrain him?"
Isa smirked, "I see what your doing! Im all for it!"
They all counted, 3...2...1! Lusia busts the door open and Bruno stumbles back. He tries running past Luisa but Isa is there. Bruno turns around to run up to his tower when hes surrounded by vines, which restrain him and force him to his knees and turns him to face the family. He looks at them as they fill his room one by one and then looks down at the ground. He seems...different. But he was alive. No one questioned him or yelled at him. Instead, they all got down to his level, and hugged him softly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The family took turns keeping an eye on Bruno for a few months after that. He was skinner but all in all, he acted the same around his family. Still awkward and funny just more quiet. He decided one day to talk to Abuela. He knocked on her door.
"Come in!" Bruno walked in and smiled awkwardly, " Hi mama...I uh..still need to talk to you about your vision..or my vision.."
"No need to Bruno. Im already at peace with it. Im simply going o go join my Pedro. I need you to know its okay. You are not a bad omen and you'll always be apart of the madrigal family." Abuela hugged him and gave him a kiss on the check.
"O-oh! Well o-okay." Bruno smiled nervously and left.
I know how we all are in agreement with Pepa probably being one of the most stressed family members of La Famila Madrigal just due to her powers making her emotions always be out on display.
But imagine what she had to go through while she was pregnant with each of her 3 children.... her mood swings during that time must have been a hectic sight to witness.
