he absolutely did not disappoint, not that i was expecting him to bc he has a very clear and fluid understanding of his abilities and what he wants as soloist. i was not expecting him to go the route of the other, but i think it was a perfect choice and it pulls on a lot of threads that are relevant to him as an artist and idol and also probably as a person as well. there's the most obvious parallel of idol as a manipulator, but the thread most interesting to me is this confluence of hiding in plain sight monster/queer/other that is quite a subversive take for an idol to come right out of the gate with. i suspect that he drew from a lot of personal experience for this, as being a foreign idol for so long undoubtedly has othered him in many ways, and he self described the 'nightwalker' monster look at the end of the mv as having 'a queer vibe', so.

Do you guys have an idol who you don’t really feel attracted to in a way you might feel for like a bias or bias wrecker, but just find totally cute and adorable ??

For me Seungmin of Skz. It’s like I don’t feel like bias wrecked by him rlly and how I feel isn’t the same for how I feel about my biases but i think he’s adorable and I have a special place in my heart for him.

27. Who's your current ultimate bias?

I don't really know? I've never really been able to answermthat question for Kpop. Like Seventeen is my favorite group, and Junhui, Wonwoo, and Woozi are my biases there. My somewhat tongue in cheek answer is that Jolin Tsai has been my ultimate bias since 1999, and there is no room for other ultimate bias answers.

36. What's your top 3 girlgroups/idols?

Going to go with current groups so that I don't take forever trying to answer this one: Rocket Punch, Everglow, Le Sserafim in no particular order and with some other groups definitely in contention (I like a lot of girl groups, but fewer people want to talk to me about them).

48. If you could work behind the scenes with kpop, what would you be doing? (stylist, photographer, director, etc)

Stylist or lyricist. I love clothes and would love to be able to put more boy groups in gender non conforming clothes, and have more girl groups have varied outfits that suit individual styles and more varied gender presentations including more gender nonconforming clothes. In terms of lyricist, I write poetry (have even had some published), and some of that translates well into lyrics.

Also like most realistically, English teacher/tutor since that is literally my job.

hey i think you said a couple of times that blitzers had theatre kid energy and i really love it (i discovered them through macarena a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessed with it since then) !! do you by any chance know any groups/soloists (regardless the generation or gender) who have some songs with this theatre kid vibes ?? i think we just need more goofy songs in our lives. all in all thank you for making me take an interest in blitzers and i hope you have a very nice day 🤍

MY AGENDA REVEALED!!!!!!!!! yes i DO have some recommendations for you!! firstly i MUST recommend my other stupid boys trendz, their actual performances aren't as goofy as blitzers but they are excellent performers and goofy as hell offstage in the dumbest ways you can imagine. my favourite thing is that they started doing 'c' versions of their mvs where they just. do stupid shit filmed on like, the manager's iphone. the c ver for my way actually just dropped a couple of days ago actually here i will link it so you can watch them be stupid:

obvs there's orange caramel but you likely already know about them. there tend to be less goofy releases from ggs in general but also the ones that do exist are kinda.......teehee i'm just a dumb girl and personally i do not like that. others: yena (her first two releases are fun and silly), dkb (laddest of lad energy. watch their peak time performances they're a very good intro into them (team 08:00)), a.c.e (it's always a.c.e promo hours, take me higher is THE summer song, also down), onewe (they're a band sshhh but they did a 2pm heartbeat DANCE cover for some reason and went so much harder than they needed to), onf (truly a group of losers (complimentary)), golden child (not always so goofy BUT they still do story mvs!), ghost9 (also on peak time, team 14:00), cravity (excellent roster of banger songs with stupid names: party rock, boogie woogie, groovy, and now dilly dally! also some really unhinged tiktoks of that's your thing). i mean there's also like. shinee and exo, but we all know about them. back in the olden days most groups were much more loser-ish (complimentary) bc they were actually composed of theatre kids, instead of all these wannabe influencers that debut now. we used to be a COUNTRY smh.

I do really wonder when this split happened. It seems there was a time when it was normalized to listen to lots of different acts from the genre. What stopped this? Where did the term "multi" come from, and why is it a crime?

Hmm.....I had to think a lot on this one....

I'd have to say Suga of BTS. When I first listened to them I fell for him because of his rapping style and his sound, but over the years its evolved to more of a role model sense. I look up to him, and I'd love to listen to him about music and talk to him about sounds and beats all day....I really look up to him
