im not the biggest henry cavill or BvS fan, but I absolutely adore jesse eisenberg's luthor, because that man would 100% raise Connor and act as if he and supes are exes

he would publicly talk about a boy he meet and how they were high school sweethearts, he can talk for hours about how in love they were and how luthor was so excited to have their own biologically engineered child, but then his sweetheart left and now he's raising their kid all by himself

the media completely eats it up

he so would act like supes is a deadbeat dad and say shit like " Connor my son, I'm so happy me and your other father didn't have a custody battle, I can just imagine he having you for the weekend and leaving you all alone, just so he can go fight crime"

"it would still be neglectful of him"

or shit like, billionaire bruce wayne just adopted some street rat and luthor is pissed off because this made Bruce's popularity skyrocket so he makes sure to contract a paparazzi for Connor's school apresentation and when Connor has a meltdown because of all the noise the newspaper is filled with photos of him comforting Connor

Unpopular Superboy/Kon-El Opinion

*(Saw a popular-ish image post about the Superfamily that made me want to start a conversation on this. I don’t think the main point in the post was wrong but the tired, old, kinda-sorta illogical opinion(s) that came from it just...rubbed me the wrong way.)

It doesn’t actually matter whether or not the reader or writer want Superboy/Kon-El to be called Superman’s “son” or his “brother” because the nature of their relationship (in terms of blood or behavior) is what’s important. Nothing about said current relationship would automatically change unless a writer changed it. 

In other words, if someone is treated by you like they’re your child and it’s hinted that others see them that way too, you best believe that they’re your child. Seriously. (Remember, for example, Batman and Robin/Nightwing’s non-biological, adoption-based father-son relationship?)

Therefore Kon-El’s origin doesn’t actually matter as much as some people think it does, nor even his biological connection to either or both Superman and Lex Luthor. Neither of these traits on their own have to change anything significantly about any version of Kon/Conner. That means he can be a basically-full-kryptonian with perhaps added abilities, or a limited-powers, possibly flightless character or a power-mimicking and TTK-or-similar-power having character. He can also be genetically related to both Clark and Lex, Clark and some other gene donor(s), Clark alone, or not have any DNA from Clark at all. He can be “pure good” or “pure evil” regardless of where and who his genes come from too!

And this goes for any Superfamily character btw. Yes, I agree that it should be okay for people to be ‘adopted’ into the fam. We’ve already seen it happen before, more or less. But there’s nothing wrong with many or most members being there by blood either. Both can happen at the same time.

Furthering my point on Kon’s genes: The problem with them expecting fans to accept his connection to Kal-El as that of “cousins” or even “brothers” isn’t that (as far as I’m aware) we Superman-is-Superboy’s-father truthers are against the idea of adopted family or Kon having genetic ‘quirks’ with his powers that lead to him only having some kryptonian abilities, or none at all. The problem is the blatant, mind-boggling dishonesty that the writers and certain fans are engaging in by promoting and accepting this idea, respectively. It literally makes no sense. Not on a genetic basis, age-basis or treatment-basis.

I know ideas are sometimes brought up and then not utilized to their full potential and that this happened when Kon/Conner’s origin was retconned (again?). However, there’s nothing stopping said ideas from finally being used—besides writers themselves. Superboy, in reality, is ‘like’ a son to Superman in more ways than one. If they didn’t want many swathes of the fandom to view him as Superman’s super-progeny, than they shouldn’t have written him to be one or ‘like’ one!

Nuance matters people, as does simple scientific and real world logic. Let’s please not lose these in our quest to have entire worlds and the characters of them written to our exact liking. It could, in some cases, literally destroy a character’s lore, reputation and the character him/herself! The ideal that you want is often much closer to that of others than you think, and easier to achieve, without needing to erase years and years worth of history.

So, maybe Danny should have been more specific when he said he wanted to get reincarnated, because this? Is not an ideal situation. 

See he’s fine with being a clone, really, but uh, apparently the scientists want to terminate him- which, like dude, he’s not even melting or actively dying! So what if he failed at their tests, his body is three, give him a break! 

Well, at least it’s given him certainty in getting out, because these are Not good people. He wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and- hold up, another clone? Brother? Two brothers? One aged up, one in the middle of it- since his own aging-up failed past three? 

Oh hell no, they can’t experiment on his brothers, those are his brothers and living people just as much as he is! Time to break out- and he’s taking those papers thank you- and gonna’ grab his… he’s gonna’ call them his triplets because they’re the same age, just aged differently. 

Now hold his hand, they’re runnin’ to the mountai- oh thank fuck, the physically-oldest of them can fly. To the mountains while they have the cover of night and they can figure things out. At least his life isn’t boring yet…

There's a Twitter account called Photo Evidence and it's full of photos of corrupt company owners doing drugs when they claim to be against them, or trying to SA women and screenshots of conversations between CEOs and their workers or a third party planning situations that are meant to make the CEOs look good or of the money in the company being used for bad things. You know, that kind of stuff.

The account starts out small (or, small in the scale of trying to destroy large corporate companies that are corrupt) and starts to go bigger. Photo Evidence is responsible for federal investigations into these companies, and no one knows who runs the account or how they get this information. People have tried to hack into their account and see if there's anything that tells them who it is, but the account's super protected that it's insane. How does something this protected even exist on Twitter?

Then it starts to go after Lex Luthor and his company. There are texts between Lex Luthor and Kon-El, talking about how Lex created Kon and that he should be preparing to take over Lex's company. There's evidence of mercenaries being hired to stage a take over for Luthor to look good about, and so many other things.

Somehow, Photo Evidence gets their hands on Luthor's cloning experiments. The accompanying caption is 'Fellas, how gay must you be to combine your own DNA with your sworn alien enemy to stabilize you clone of him?'

It causes a ruckus in a few hours.

Nightwing comments on the post, asking Aqualad and Kid Flash if they remembered breaking into Cadmus Labs without adult supervision. Aqualad's response is 'I was the adult supervision'

When Lex Luthor makes a homophobic comment, Photo Evidence starts to make fun of him, asking him things like 'How's the internalized homophobia going?'

Lex Luthor's company gets investigated, and no amount of bribery can save it because these are private investigators hired and paid with more money than Luthor can offer them.

Photo Evidence is Tim. He started the account because he was bored one day, and it's way more fun to bully Lex Luthor.

Tim : I'm tired, can you take my coat to the living room?

Kon gets up and grabs his coat:

Tim kidding : And take me too

Kon pick Tim up and walks away:

Bernard: ???

Bart : the fuck happened?

Cassie : Kon doesn't like to talk before nine of morning

.......
