I have such a soft spot for the JL forming while the Batfam is alredy big and out there, like I mean Bruce being like 39 and Dick already 27 kind of vibes. Especially if the JL has no clue abt them, it's just so funny to me. Bc they know Batman has been doing it for a long time already and they've heard rumors of more heroes in Gotham, but theyve never been confirmed and Batman keeps them away and they respect him enough to listen. Then the JL enlist Nightwing, who is closer to the average age of the JL, who has already been protecting his city for nearing a decade. And he's professional competent and they don't think any of it when he and Batman work well together, because humans stick together they guess.

Only for Batman to randomly lick his thumb to get some food of Nightwing's face and Nightwing whining: "Daaaaad," all embarrassed, shocking the entire JL, which isn't at all help when Dick adds: "I'm too old for this, go clean Robin's face." And then they have another heartattack, because Batman sounds almost sad when he replies: "Soon you're all going to be too old for this." Which causes Nightwing to pat his back and say: "Don't worry, B. We're never going to be too old to get embarrassed by you." Which somehow cheers Batman (dark scary Batman) up. And that's how the JL learns that the two are related and B very much doesn't work alone.

So Danny Phantom is a teen with the teen tendency of not listening to authority figures and doing what he thinks is best and annoying the shit out of people. Well, add this to the idea that he's an all powerful being that can wreck the world in a blink of an eye if he wanted to, but doesn't because his obsession won't let him. Now you can see why the JL is a bit terrified of him especially since Batman is having a hard time coming up with a contingency plan for Phantom. So, imagine one day a few member of the JL and Phantom were having an argument (idc what kind of argument make it up but probably is partially Danny's fault) and it's getting a little out of hand until Jazz shows up to scold Phantom, the fucking Ghost King, for causing trouble and tells him to apologize. Now imagine the League's surprise when he actually does and then Jazz and Phantom leave together. Like who tf is this lady? How did she get Phantom to stand down? Does she have some sort of control over him? They need to find out more. So, they proceed to stalk and/or abduct Jazz to interrogate her. Phantom comes bursting in and threatening everyone and labels Jazz as a fuck around and find out person in his life. Jazz calms Phantom down and then they leave. Now the JL is slightly terrified of Jazz because from their perspective she is the only being in the world who has any control over Phantom. And anyone who can control a God of Death must be fucking powerful so the League desides not to fuck around and find out

I like the DC x DP AUs where the Justice League and Amity Park (and Elmerton by proxy) never noticed each other due to an information blackout. I also find it neat when the idea's taken a step further.

For example, what if the government built Amity Park on insanely haunted land on purpose? Let's say, years ago, the whole LoA and Ra's Al Ghul situation made the U.S government curious about Lazarus water. They wished to find it's source in order to harvest it themselves.

The U.S preferred to avoid Lazarus pools that already existed to prevent conflict with the LoA. Instead, they decided to seek out the perfect location to "dig a well" of their own.

GIW scientists established that Lazarus water, a heavily condensed version of ectoplasm, was linked to ghosts and other ectoplasmic entities. They also observed that these entities are highly attracted to human populated areas.

This gave them the idea to settle a whole population of people on a liminal hotspot to lure ecto entities into the human realm. With the Anti Ecto Acts in place, the GIW were be free to capture ghosts and other creatures for their ectoplasm. The end goal was for the Fenton portal to be used as a well to harvest mass quantities of ectoplasm directly from the Infinite Realms.

How might this work for Amity Park and it's place in the world?

The information blackout is heavier outside the Amity-Elmerton territory than inside. Amity residents are only cut off from info that could threaten the government project (EX: the existence of real life superheroes, the Meta Protection Acts, certain major events, etc.).

All devices that enter the Amity-Elmerton territory are unable to send or receive video/pics of the above "blocked" topics. In fact, it's difficult for social media users within that territory to connect with any posts or profiles from outside unless they look hard enough.

Amity residents are still allowed to travel, but airline ticket prices are jacked ridiculously high, especially for specific destinations (i.e: common superhero locations) to deter those residents from going there. GPS devices and maps bought in Amity or Elmerton are also set to misdirect users away from these same locations if they opt for a road trip.

Most Amity-Elmerton residents hardly bother leaving at all since there's a hefty fee for crossing beyond a set perimeter. They've all been lead to believe this is a normal part of traveling in the Midwest.

To everyone outside the Amity-Elmerton area, that area is virtually non-existent. It's not listed on any map, globe, or basically any public geolocation tool outside those provided in Amity (not even Google Maps). The only hints of it existing are in certain forms of documentation, such as birth certificates and tax forms. Even then, these people are hard to come by.

At most, Amity Park is a little known myth where people occasionally debate on it's existence.

In general, the government limiting Amity-Elmerton residents access to outside info while giving them just enough to stave off suspicion.

something that's kind of essential to me about james is that he's arrogant but he's not confident. deep down he's actually rather insecure. like we've all met those kinds of men lmao, and he's no exception. it's Sirius who is truly confident and that's because he doesn't give a shit. James 100% gives a shit. He gives so much of a shit it hurts. The ruffling up his hair, the glancing towards the girls/Lily, showing off with the snitch, humiliating others... it's all the outward shell of a boy that actually really doubts himself.

an important part of James's character development is him learning what his good qualities actually are, and that the things he'd previously valued- appearances, quidditch prowess, popularity- aren't actually what makes you a worthwhile person. the way I see him his good qualities are bravery, loyalty, thoughtfulness, generosity, dedication, and these are things he either actively pushed down or simply didn't value for a very long time. but he's becoming an adult, there's a war going on, his mum and dad are getting older, and these are the things that start becoming more important.

when he first starts dating lily he is very insecure about it at first and on some level thinks she's too good for him (probably true rip). I mean yeah he still might act outwardly kind of cocky because that's just ingrained in his sense of humour at this point, but Lily def brings out a vulnerability that he had spent many years trying to ignore. he is head over heels for her and is convinced that she doesn't feel the same way. I mean, she totally does bc girlie pop has notoriously bad taste (JOKE) but still. She's actually really into that thoughtful, loyal, generous boy that is finally being allowed to shine through

Ok but the Justice League kidnapping Duke, bc he seems like a good kid and they don't want him to get banished by Batman for being a meta, so they can train him and set him loose in another city. Meanwhile, Duke is unsure if he should tell them that Batman is cool with him being in the city and also his foster dad, but also not wanting to be rude or make the League feel bad (bc they're the League and he's a fanboy), so he just lets them. Until an angry Batman comes to collect his kid and the Justice League gets whiplash bc what do you mean this guy is allowed to be meta in your city? And B is just like: my child priviledges f u.
