#jily trope
Note
can you pls write the jily concept with james potter & reader pls i beg — ALSO your work is amazing & ily
THIS CONCEPT and james >>>> ily too bby
ever since the first moment that james potter saw you he knew that you were the one.
i’m not even kidding, he saw ur little eleven year old face on the train and was like, i’m gonna marry her!
the first thing he did was flirt with you, cheesy 11 year old style
you however weren’t having none of it and that just made him simp even more
since day one he would preach about how you’re the prettiest person ever
sending you notes in class with scribbled compliments and flirting
the teachers ship you two
they have their own bets on when or if you’ll finally give in
sends letters home to his parents absolutely gushing about you to them
fondly calls you ‘my future wife’ or ‘the love of my life’ in the letters
when you all go home after your first term at hogwarts, he’s immediately gushing to his parents about you
‘she’s just so pretty!’
‘she has the kindest heart ever, you’ll see mum and dad, she’s perfect!’
‘i could listen to her talk for the rest of my life!’
HE’S SO IN LOVE.
when you guys get a tad older he’s literally always asking you out
ofc it’s in an entirely heartwarming way but either way the public attention stresses you tf out
spends all lessons he has with you making heart eyes at you
his friends are sick and tired of hearing how pretty you are, how he’s gonna marry you someday, how you’re so kind and genuine, how you’re the most intelligent person he knows, how he loves your passionate ranting, how your smile makes him smile, how your laugh sounds like angels singing-
even tho they do know how amazing you are, jamie boy can be a bit much
the both of you are always in conversations around the school
some ppl are mad that he’s so infatuated w you he won’t glance at them but stay mad hoes 😊😊😊😊
everyday compliments & flirting.
your friends either find it amusing, encourage you to give him a chance, or are w you in your annoyance
however... in the ending of fifth year ish something changes
let me set the scene babe
you’re at a party in the common room with your friends after a victory for gryffindor, you look so good and you’re actually having the time of ur life
then remus, a good mate of urs, comes up to you is extremely apologetic but he claims he has to take care of sirius and asks for your help to take care of james
you’re naturally v reluctant but seeing the genuine stress laced into his tired features makes ur heart ache a bit so you agree
he’s nonstop spewing thank yous as he takes you over to the secluded place where he’s put a literally black out drunk james & sirius
as soon as james sees you he jumps up immediately and stumbles happily into you, babbling drunkenly about how much he loves you
‘you’re my favourite person ever ever ever ever i lobe you so much’
‘you’re the most beautiful person! if i could draw you i would and id frame it..you’d be more famous than the Mona Lisa!’
‘you look so good- thought m’heart was gonna jump out my chest when i saw you!’
and as you’re sitting down with his, his head nestled into your shoulder and body positioned towards u, listening to him slurring-ly ramble about why he loves you so much & how he loves you so much
your heart melts a bit
having someone genuinely care for you like this.. you thought it was some elaborated prank for his entertainment but hearing all this.. it just makes you rethink a bit
the next day he’s incredibly hungover and doesn’t remember much of the night - doesn’t remember your interaction
and remus decides to keep it hushed bc if he knew he’d be jumping all over the place
but by some fucking miracle you’re acting less cold toward him
the first time you smiled at him directly, james fainted 💀
the first time you unabashedly giggled at something he said, he spaced off the rest of of the lesson replaying that sound
the time you patted his arm in thanks, his friends had to force him into the shower bc he refused to wash off ur touch
he doesn’t know why or what happened but he can’t remember a time when he was so happy !
he writes to his parents and screams over the letter about how you’re actually paying attention to him and how his plan is starting to work
meanwhile remus watches everything with a small silent smirk, incredibly proud of himself

I think one of my favorite jily tropes is when James is a cocky, arrogant prick and he's teasing Lily about how he knows that she's attracted to him or that she likes him or something and then Lily is like, 'yes, I fancy you' and James trips over every pair of shoes he owns, falls on his face and loses every iota of confidence he's ever had. He doesn't believe her, he can't understand why she would like him. He's baffled. Bamboozled. And she's like ??? you just told me that you knew I liked you? and he's like 'yeah but I was making shit up???'

A Place for You and Me
so I made a joke about combining the top three winners from this trope poll into one story, and my brain was like, okay but what if... and then my brain wouldn't shut up until I wrote this intro scene
The stones under her feet were slick even under her gentle steps. She gave all of her attention to walking across the rocks without tripping over the hem of her dress. Her mother would greet her with a firm tongue if she came home with the bottom of her dress muddy from the river. Still, she couldn't help but look ahead to the boy she was following with a hint of annoyance. Just a hint though.
"You are so lucky to be a boy," she called up to him. "Trousers are better for adventures than dresses."
"This was your idea," he reminded her; there was nothing harsh in his words, in fact, she could hear the smile in his voice. "We could turn back around."
“No. You promised you would show me, James.”
He laughed but didn’t deny her claim and she accepted that as a victory.
She didn't bother saying anything further, still focusing on where they were heading. Past this small river that was ten paces wide at its largest point, stood a clutter of trees that hid the winding walking path. And beyond the trees there was a meadow, a secret place tucked away between the trees and the river and the jagged edges of an old abandoned home—or so James had described the previous week after he had found it. She had listened eagerly to his words, basked in them as if they were the sunshine now warming her skin, consumed them as if they were the chilled glass of water awaiting her at home on this hot summer’s day.
James was always going on adventures like this and sharing them with her whenever he and his mother came over to visit with her mother. It was unfair that he was given the freedom to go exploring when she was often kept within the confines of her own garden, the hedges surrounding it as impenetrable as a stone wall. It was not as though he were older than her—in fact, he was almost two months younger!—and hardly a more mature thirteen than she.
She had complained about this many times in the past, mostly to him, but sometimes to her mother who met her daughter’s chagrin with a level, unperturbed look. Lily learned quickly that expressing her annoyance to her mother did not lead her to the end she wished it would.
But today… this glorious August day, she had freedom to explore right alongside him. And the first order of business was finding this meadow.
The moment the soft soles of her shoes touched the hard ground, her hand grasped in James’ steady hand for improved balance, she told him, “Mary found out she has been promised.”
James turned back to look at her in surprise, his shock of hair only accentuating the look on his face; normally it would have made her laugh, but it didn’t seem so funny today. “Macdonald? To who?”
“To whom,” Lily corrected automatically, but James only rolled his eyes. “She doesn’t know yet. One of the Fawley brothers. Can you—?”
“Fawley?” James said, ignoring Lily’s glare at being interrupted. “But the youngest Fawley has to be nearly eighteen by now.”
Lily grimaced. “Can you imagine? Being promised to someone?”
He laughed, tugging her forward faster on the path now. “Sure.”
“You can!”
“Come on, Ms. Evans. It won’t do to dawdle,” he teased, a clear impression of Lily’s older sister that left her in a fit of giggles.
“I am just saying,” she began again, once she had recovered, “I am very glad my mother and father will not be choosing the same for me! Imagine! Just imagine!”
“I would rather not,” came his simple reply. “Poor fellow. You would drive him mad with your talks of adventure.”
Lily nearly frowned, stopping suddenly; their linked hands caused James to stop too, though their hands fell apart. “I don’t drive you mad, James.”
“That’s because we’re the same sort of mad, aren’t we?” he said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world. Where they had stopped, the trees were starting to thin, letting in beams of sunlight that danced between the branches of the trees. James looked like he was glowing. “It would not be so bad, I think, to be promised to someone. It would not be so bad if you were promised to me, would it?”
She laughed, tucking her hand back into his and urging him onward. “Don’t be silly, James. Are we nearly there?”
James’ answer came in the form of pulling her faster through the widening pathway until they stepped out of the trees and directly into the sunshine. They were met with an expanse of wildflowers that danced in the breeze in welcome. Lily’s breath caught as she took it all in, this beautiful hidden place that James had somehow found, with its vibrant colors and gentle breeze. The river cut a path through the land as if carved there precisely, its water flowing docilly. As if built into the hillside, the stone-walled cottage with its patchy thatched roof looked like the kind of place a fairy would live.
There was no way he could know this, but it was as if James had plucked this place out of one of her favorite fairytales.
“What do you think?” he asked after a moment.
“I think you have found the most wonderful place in the world, James.”

The prompts for this year's Jily Week are here! I hope you all enjoy! Feel free to participate for as little or as many of the prompts as you'd like.
31st July - Fluff/Angst day
Pick your side in the ultimate battle between fluff and angst! Advocate for your side by releasing media in your preferred genre, and let the war begin...
1st August - "In any universe I'd fight evil with you" AU
When they're not in the Order of the Phoenix fighting against Death Eater fascism, they're climate change activists, peasants overthrowing their feudal lord, superheroes fighting the resident supervillain - you get to decide where to put our favourite couple, as long as they're in some way fighting for what's right.
2nd August - Fuck JKR day
Although we love our versions of the characters, there's no denying there's a lot wrong with the initial text & author, so here's your chance to stick it to JKR with any interpretation you feel fits her characters but she would have hated.
3rd August - Tropes Galore
Follow this link and press the blue button for a random trope and enter it into your work!
4th August - Meet cute AU
Did they meet when they both saved a cat that fell into a river together? Were they paired up because they're the only singles on a couples fairground ride? Are they on opposite teams of a mandatory school dodgeball tournament and the only people taking it seriously? The opportunities are rife for an electric first meeting, so have fun!
5th August - Your field AU
Put jily into your field of work or study! Feel free to keep it more general in your field rather than your exact job/subject for privacy reasons, but insert all the little details people don't tend to notice, giving it that ring of authenticity.
6th August - Fake dating AU
That time-honoured trope! Do they pretend to be a genuine couple and fall for each other in the process? Do they have lots of fun dramatically pretending to be a toxic couple that would do numbers on a reality TV show? The prompt is yours to decide with!

JILYCHALLENGE NOVEMBER 2023 | @jilychallenge
Theme: Nostalgic Tropes
Prompt: Accidents with a certain potion (Amortentia) - although there was less accident and more Lily being painfully oblivious
Partner: @charmsandtealeaves
I was only able to write something short and sweet this time and I used the prompt loosely but please enjoy!
James lunges straight for a bowl of oatmeal. His typical breakfast, one that has served him well for Quidditch training, is crucial in his daily routine. With a healthy dusting of cinnamon sugar, he tucks straight in, all while trying to advertently listen to the girls chat about yesterday afternoon's lesson.
Amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the world. A potion that ultimately smells different to each person, according to what attracts them. A potion that caused infamous chatter when the subject of the class was first revealed by Professor Slughorn just last week. Even the boys had been nervously chattering about what the potion would smell to them.
The Gryffindor’s had their lesson yesterday afternoon, James' potion aroma did not surprise him at all, but Remus and Sirius were still reluctant to describe theirs. Peter was still preening over his smelling exactly like his girlfriend, the Hufflepuff girls currently cooing over him as he sat next to Lucinda.
As he takes another spoonful of oatmeal, Lily rolls her eyes playfully as Alice sighs over Marlene’s love potion description. He’s been desperate to hear what Lily’s potion smelt like, desperate to either finally get closure or get the courage to take the next step.
“So, Lils, what did yours smell like?” Marlene waggles her eyebrows suggestively.
“First, I want to explain how Amortentia works. It smells like what attracts you, that could be anything from what we’re sexually attracted to something that just smells good. Hence, why mine smelt like chocolate.”
“It did not smell like chocolate.” Alice scoffs, behind her coffee mug.
Lily frowns, the little divot between her eyebrows making an appearance.
“It did!” Lily frowns, yet James clocks the redness flushing her cheeks.
“What else did it smell like, Lils?” Marlene asks carefully, a secret smile on her face as she pours milk into her cereal.
Lily rolling her eyes once again, takes a moment. He watches as her eyes look at the various condiments in the centre of the table.
“It smelt like lavender…” She says quietly.
“Like our dorm room?”
“Yeah, suppose it just smells like home for me.”
“Anything else?” Marlene adds.
Lily bites down on her lip, almost causing James to miss his mouth with his spoon. “It smelt like cinnamon sugar,” she says quickly.
Marlene’s spoon halfway to her mouth, pauses and watches Lily expectantly. Alice’s attention, meanwhile, flickers to James and back to Lily, an excited smile on her face.
Now it’s James’ turn to go red.
His heart may be climbing up his throat, but he watches Lily as calmly as he can.
“Oh?” Alice prompts.
“Mmm, I mean I like cinnamon sugar, but I don’t remember any sort of situation where I’ve been attracted to the smell?”
Lily looks thoroughly confused now, so confused that James stops eating, puts down his spoon and arches a brow at Alice.
Alice beaming under James' gaze flashes him a conspiratorial grin. “Cinnamon sugar? I mean, I can think of one person that has a penchant for the taste every morning…”
Lily arches a questioning brow at Alice, “Who?”
Before Alice can respond, a thump interrupts the group. Sirius landing heavily next to James and Alice, gives the group his usual mischievous grin before announcing very loudly for the entire table to hear, “James, mate, would you like some oatmeal with all that cinnamon sugar?”

[the language he speaks is money pt.2]
Lily, with a pile of expensive books in front of her, scratching her cheek, thinking and calculating which ones she should pick to be able to pay and stay in her budget:
James, going to Regulus who's also picking books mindlessly, pointing at Lily: She's doing what I think?
Regulus, looking up at her, blinking: Oh.
James: She is, right?
Regulus: I think she is.
James, taking Regulus by the sleeve to walk to Lily: Ain't no way... Lily, dear, what are you doing?
Lily, looking up in turn: Hm? Picking the books I'm going to buy.
James, putting his hands on her cheeks, tutting: No no no, you're not picking. I'll buy the rest.
Regulus, taking him by the waist and moving him to the side: No, I'll pay.
Lily, shaking her head: You two are not thinking correctly. I am paying my stuff.
Regulus, chuckling, and kissing her cheek: No you're not.
James, already grabbing the heavy pile of books: Let's go.
Lily: James, put this down right now.
Regulus, one hand in front of his mouth, mocking him: She James-ed you. 'Wouldn't have liked that.
James, rolling his eyes:
Lily: You're no better, Regulus. You two don't understand the value of money.
James: Money is meant to be spent.
Regulus: I agree.
Lily, rolling her eyes:
James, keeping the books away from Regulus' hands: I'll pay this time.
Regulus, crossing his arms: Certainly not. Let me spoil her.
James: Let me spoil you both. You two look so cute when you read together on the couch.

Nostalgic Trope November - Jily Challenge
Tumblr media
Like there wouldn't have been a Harry Potter without James and Lily getting together (and getting some fun action ;-) there wouldn't be fandom in 2023 if it didn't all start way back when the HP books were still being written... Back then, James asked Lily out incessantly, but truly ALL THE BLOODY TIME, how they could ever play spin the bottle is a mystery. They frequently swapped bodies due to potion mishaps, we expect because of all those nerves about who to ask to the Yule Ball coming up, so very soon.... This month we're celebrating the fun that old tropes can be, but we appreciate fandom has evolved to next level story telling as well. Therefore any *Classic Trope* we give you, you are free to Put it Down, Flip it and Reverse it as much as it pleases you... (we will only serve out M-preg in case of a special request ;-)
how to sign up & more information under the cut
Each pair of creators will receive a prompt from us to spark your ideas. You are always free to use and interpret your prompt as loosely as you want.

#7 - Red, for @jilymicrofics
It was not fair, James reflected, annoyed, as he grabbed his things. He had been talking with his friends just as usual, but this time Professor Trent had bristled and now James was sent to sit on the last desk in the classroom, while his friends stayed in their spots. The only fair thing would be if they were all made to sit together there.
This year's DADA class was a bit of a joke, everyone knew. Professor Trent was their fourth DADA teacher in a row, and James supposed he was only concerned about surviving the year—their last DADA teacher had a weird encounter with a cave troll, and the one before that had nearly drown in the lake—
The sound of giggles distracted him from considering what terrible fate was waiting for Professor Trent, and he looked around. The girls were exchanging notes, hiding their giggles in coughs that would fool no one, but Professor Trent wasn't noticing it; it was not fair at all.
On the table in front of him, Evans got a note; she glanced behind quickly, their eyes met for less than a heartbeat, then her head snapped front before James could say anything. Evans scribbled something in answer and passed the note again.
"Subtlety, Evans," he mumbled, loud enough that she would not miss it.
She glanced back, pretending she was searching for something in her backpack, not looking directly at him.
"Not everything is about you, Potter."
"Still, I got your attention, didn't I?"
She ruffled, mouth snapping shut, and giving him her best basilisk-like glare; James smirked. He wasn't sure why, but he enjoyed a lot messing with Lily Evans; no one else would give him the same sassy comebacks, and just like always, Evans didn't let him down.
"With a head so big, how could I not notice it?"
She turned around, not giving him any chance to answer her, and moved her chair closer to her table, as far from him as she could; that left her sitting directly under a ray of sunlight coming from the window.
James smiled to himself; Evans would pretend she was ignoring him, but he could see the way she was tapping her fingers on the table, or shaking her head as if still discussing with him in her mind—or how she twisted the end of her ponytail before loosening her hair. Under the sunlight, her auburn hair fell in a swift motion, like a waterfall reflecting the sunset.
Professor Trent was talking now, something about homework that was worth some House points (something that James usually cared about), but he couldn't pay attention to anything but the way Evans' hair shined under the light. He had never considered it before, but it was hypnotizing; there were so many shades of red, darker and lighter, Gryffindor red or fire red, or just red, a shade so red that it should be standard for all colours that wanted to be considered red. Her hair looked so soft—if he could just slide his fingers through it, if he could just—
His hand was half-raised when the bell rang. Evans rose at once, and, seemingly against her best judgment, looked back at him, and when she caught James staring back at her, she crossed her arms and turned around, her hair whipping the air, leaving a trace of her shampoo in the air. Strawberries, James thought. It was fitting.
He was still standing in place, watching the last trace of Evans' disappearing by the door, just her dark red hair visible in the midst of all the students, when his friends got to him.
"I'm so bored," Sirius complained, yawning. "I can't believe he made you sit behind Evans—are you okay?"
"Yeah," James mumbled, unsure. "Why?"
"Your face is red."
That was fitting also.

_________________________________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
Lily walked through the empty dark corridor. She had snuck out of her sleeping chambers to go to the barracks after such a long day. The exhaustion was washing over her but she needed to see a certain person before she went to bed. After not seeing him all day, she craved for his touch, longing for the sound of his voice.
She was already by the garden when she heard him call out to her.
“Your highness,”
She turned to see him jogging towards her, a smile forming in her lips as she saw him for the first time that day. Despite the serious expression on his face, she couldn’t help feeling her heart furiously beating.
“James, hi,” she said, sounding breathless as he came nearer.
“What are you doing out here, princess?” he asked, touching the hilt of his sword, something he did when he was nervous. James wasn’t someone who gets flustered easily, but there was something about Lily that made his heart race abnormally in a way he didn’t hate. If anything, he looked forward to the familiar feeling.
“I was heading for the barracks,” she simply said, taking in his appearance.
The knight’s eyebrow couldn’t help itself but raise, “Oh? What for?” Though he already knew the answer, he wanted to hear it come from her.
“To see you,” said Lily without hesitation. Causing a small smile to flash on James’ lips for a moment before his expression returned to being stoic.
He tried so hard not to let his emotions slip through the crack. “May I ask why, your highness?”
Lily pursed her lips, she hated it whenever he addressed her so formally. It felt like he was trying to distance himself from her on purpose, instead of just being too busy like how she tried to convince herself he was doing.
“Did his majesty ask for me?” James asked, trying to act clueless, causing the princess to grunt in annoyance as she muttered something under her breath.
“No, I just wanted to see you,” she said, trying to stop herself from smacking him in the face.
James’ eyebrow shot up, “Is someone giving you trouble?”
The princess wanted to judo flip the cluelessness act he’s trying to feign. “You know why I want to see you, James.”
He let out a sigh of defeat, turning away for a moment. He couldn’t bear to look at her frustrated expression, especially not when he was the cause of it. “Your highness, we’ve talked about this,” James said.
There was an awkward silence between them. Lily didn’t know why James seems so persistent in avoiding her, acting like they didn’t spend a period of their life in love with each other.
“I know–”
“Then you should know that we’re not supposed to be near each other right now,” James said softly, not wanting to come off as harsh. Lily huffed, feeling offended when he cut her off.
“Why not? You’re my personal bodyguard,” she retorted, her stubbornness not fading. And James would find it endearing if they were in a different situation than now.
He simply gave her a stern look, “I was. But not anymore. There’s a reason I asked to be reassigned, princess. You have to understand that. You need to head back, it’s getting late.”
To her dismay, James went out of his way to contact the other guards to escort her back to her room instead of doing it himself.
Lily sulked in her room later that night. How could James change so much in just the span of a year? It was as if he bewitched himself so he could unlove her. But then again, he started acting distant months before the king announced Lily’s betrothal to another Prince from another kingdom.
Did James know about her engagement before her? She hadn’t thought about it before. Maybe he did. Was she the last one to know? Why didn’t James tell her as soon as possible?
Her mind flooded with so many questions, overwhelming her enough to drive her to sleep. Where she dreamt of the blissful life she shared with James before all this.
The rest of the weeks didn’t help Lily, as she kept seeing James escort another princess other than her, the sister of her betrothed.
Lily wasn’t one to get jealous easily, but something irked her seeing them together. What was that princess doing with her James? Lily thought to herself.
“Are you okay?” a voice interrupted her thoughts. It was the Prince. “You’re a bit red. Is it too hot?”
Lily snapped out of her trance, shaking her head. “Uh..do I look a bit red?” she asked, feeling herself up by her neck. “Sorry, I was just..”
It was a good thing the Prince was too busy with himself to follow her gaze. “Here, a fan,” he offered.
She mumbled a thank you before turning her gaze back to where James stood with another girl. He had a stoic look on his face but Lily could tell that he was enjoying the girl’s company. She knew his signature smile too well. His smile was barely noticeable if you didn’t pay attention.
Lily had everything about James engraved to her mind. They both grew up together, him being the son of the loyal and well-known knight across the kingdom; he lived in the palace with his father.
He had followed his father’s footsteps. He was a stubborn kid, while Lily was quite the opposite, but they were great friends regardless. And their friendship grew into something more over the years.
That night, Lily let the best get a hold of herself as she waited for James in the barracks. She knew where his chamber was, she had memorized it like the back of his hand. Because this was where they spent most of their nights together, gushing around and talking nonstop until dawn.
She sat in the corner on his bunk.
By the surprised sound coming out of James, she knew she caught him off guard.
He stared at her, mouth agape as he didn’t expect her to be here. “Your highness, what are you doi–”
She cut him off, “James,” she said, but she didn’t know what she should say right after.
They stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, and awkward silence falling over them, before she moved closer.
And James didn’t move away. He couldn’t, not when she’s standing so close for him to examine her beautiful face.
“James..” she swallowed a lump in her throat, her hands finding their way to his cheek to caress his cheek, cupping his face gently. She had so much more she wanted to say, but the only words that had escaped her mouth were, “I want to know that you still want me as much as I want you. That..that you’re still in love with me.”
She couldn’t take it anymore, she needed to know if he still felt the same way he did before. And to say that she’d lose her mind if he didn’t was an understatement.
He didn’t hesitate to lean into her touch, the heat reminding him of the past they had spent together. Her hands felt soft against his skin, feeling the gentleness of her caress, he felt himself starting to blush. Closing his eyes he felt his heart race with every beat, mind swirling with thoughts about her, their past, and present, and it became clear.
“You need not worry, your highness,” he whispered softly, leaning in closer, “I am still quite in love with you.”
Lily froze, was he? Or was he just saying that to appease her? After all, he hadn't bothered to look her way ever since her betrothal was announced. Except to James, that wasn’t the case at all. He always looked her way whenever he had the chance. But most of the time it hurt because the prince was by her side.
“Lily,” James said, sounding breathless as she got closer. “We can’t—” he didn’t know where to begin. Meanwhile, Lily was stunned for a moment. It had been a while ever since he addressed her by her name.
Her frown deepened as he sighed. “I love you. So I can’t let this go further, Lils.”
“Why not?”
He never gave her an answer that night. He just escorted her back to her room. Feeling frustrated with himself and their situation.
Months later...he stood with the crowd as the Lily stood in the altar with her groom. He could tell she was searching for him when it was time to seal the vows.
James chose a spot where he knew she wouldn’t be able to see. His thoughts ran back to the question she asked that night in the barracks. Why not? Why couldn’t he let himself indulge in her touch? Because he was afraid he might lose control. Afraid that he may never let her go again.
And he couldn’t let that happen, because he knew that with him, she had no future. James won’t be able to give her a good life, unlike the Prince she was to be wed now.
The love Lily and James shared was beyond beautiful, but it wasn’t something that was meant to last. And James himself knew that from the very beginning.

The love Lily and James shared was beyond beautiful, but it wasn’t something that was meant to last. And James and Lily both knew that from the very beginning.
And they both had very different ways of trying to reserve it.
