Summary; Your body has been pushed to its limit and you faint, mid mission, with no word to Jace about it.

Your adrenaline was pumping through the roof, your breathing was rough and unsteady, it burned your nostrils how harshly you'd been breathing in. Sweat was beaded on your forehead and trapping itself under your clothes, making you feel uncomfortable, but too fixated on killing all the demons around you to care.

You and the rest of the crew were out on a mission, You were fighting with Isabelle. Jace and Alec were somewhere else in the huge layer you'd broken into.

wether or not these were summoned demons or just ones who seemed to have ended up here on their own somehow, you didn't know. Your mind felt fuzzy and blank, your clothes were covered in dirt and blood.

You saw Isabelle out of your perberferal vision, she was busy taking on 2 different demons.

In a way you had looked up to her even if you both were around the same age, but she was always extremely independent and spoke up for herself.

And she was really, really good at fighting when it came to missions, she was always self aware.

The demons you were taking on had big claws, and they seemed sharp. They had the arms and legs of dogs and disfigured black heads that you couldn't even describe into words of what it looked like.

But it was horrifying to look at. And you'd been doing your best to dodge the claws of the beasts as you fought, trying to swing at them with your blades and fists.

Your mind felt overwhelmed as you started to feel that feeling in your throat you'd develop before you cried.

But your waterline was far from wet with salt. It felt as though there was eletric hot wire tightening itself around your throat. Your body felt tired and sore from how much work you'd been forcing onto yourself lately.

You weren't sure how much longer you'd be able to attempt to kill the demons off before your legs gave out, you turned your head over to Isabelle.

"Isabelle!" you called out.

"a bit busy here!" she shouted back sounding frustrated, though it'd only been from her concentration being interrupted.

You grunted and groaned as you felt your body starting to cave in, doing all you could to force yourself to keep fighting, your feet were swelling in pain, and your whole body now felt as though the figurative barbed wire that was making your throat sore has wrapped itself around it.

You felt your fingertips tingle and your body weakened more and more.

"I..Isabelle!" You faintly yelled, She shoved her blade right through the demons skull, killing it as it turned to goop and began to dismember more until it was a slimy pile of nothing.

She turned around, nostrils flared and eyes wide. She called your name and watched as one of the demons gashed it's claws into your right thigh and forearm. She gasped as she ran over whilst your vision blurred and soon faded into pitch black.

Jace and Alec had finished their part of the mission and were now in the institute, waiting for you and Isabelle.

And soon that waiting for 15 minutes, turned into 20, which faded from 20 to 30, which ended up being into an hour.

At this point Jace wasn't even aware that Isabelle had returned, all he could think about was you, and how you might've died.

You couldn't have died, no, he didn't want to let himself beileve you died, not without knowing.

In reality, you weren't dead, obviously. You were with Isabelle, in her room, resting in her bed as her and Alec helped give you antibiotics and put a protection rune above your left wrist.

"Does Jace know were here?" Isabelle questioned her brother Alec, he turned to her, his hands at his sides.

"He should know." And then he left to go get more medicine to help your limps fully heal from its wounds. It would most definitely leave scars.

It took about 2 hours for you to awake, which meant Jace had spent the last 3 in denial about you being "dead"

It was silly, really. Did he really think Isabelle would've let you die? With how responsible she always is? Yeah right, she wouldn't let you die even if she were 3 states away.

"You should take a lukewarm shower, clean off those wounds carefully and get a chance to wash all the dirt and blood out of your hair." Isabelles voice spoke in an English, firm accent as she leaned against the doorway of her bathroom.

You looked over at her, sitting up, nodding your head.

"Does Jace know were back?"

"No clue." She handed you a towel and strided over to her dresser, assuming she was getting you some more comfortable clothing for after you got out. you simply just nodded to yourself before closing the door to the bathroom.

You were walking around the institute, specifically aiming for Jaces room, you were hoping he'd known you were here and not in a ditch somewhere.

Once you arrived you knocked on the door lightly, which was quickly answered, once his eyes were met with yours, he let out a breathe he seemed to have been holding almost all his life.

"You're alive." He said relieved, he looked on edge and still dirty from earlier.

"Yeah I'm alive?" you said looking at him strangely, so he did think you died, how lowly of him to think of Isabelle.

"I haven't seen you or Isabelle in almost 4 hours, Y/n."

"Alec didn't tell you we came back?"

"No? he knew before I did and didn't tell me?"

"clearly not." you smiled at him.

"sorry you thought I've been dead for 4 hours" you laughed at your own words from how ridiculous it sounded, but there was a part of you inside that truly did feel empathy for Jace, it must have been terrible not knowing where the both of you were after so long with no word from anyone.

"I'm so glad you arent." He said stepping closer to you, you knew you had feelings for Jace for awhile now, You were both in the library and he was helping you identify runes and memorize them for worst case scenarios. He'd cracked a joke and the both of you ended up laughing together for almost 10 minutes, and the best part was, was that the joke was horrid and not even that funny.

"yeah me too."

"no, Y/n, seriously."

"I'm being just as serious as you are"

"really then?"

"yes??"

"more serious than this?"

And suddenly, his finger was under your chin, gently lifting it up for you to look at him and then your lips connected, the earth started to spin and fireworks of butterflies exploded in your stomach, untying the knot it put itself into.

Lookism Men x Female Reader "Their types on a woman PART 5"

I just realized I haven't made a Jace and Jerry one for this (sorry xD). This one will be probably shorter since I want to insert 4 characters at a time in posts (I hate text limits lol). Genre: Fluff☁️ smut/lemon🍋, slight crack🧨(comedy) Warnings: slang terms of female genitalia/body parts (tits, ass, etc.), slight mentions of sex on the bottom parts, trust issues, insecurities

Jerry Kwon (Kwon Ji Tae)

Unpopular opinion: He deserves more love and support from the fandom. Just look at him he's just too cute man.

Anyways, we all know that behind his tough shell Jerry is actually a fluff ball. So it's no problem socializing and befriending him out of pure kindness. He's super nice to everybody trust me (except from his enemies of course).

Like most of the boys, Jerry likes kind and humble women. He's also attracted to very short ones since he founds them really cute especially if they're the same age as him. He's the type to give you piggy backs when you're legs hurt from walking 🥺. He'll also the type to be protective and he'll always walk you to home after school too.

He would also appreciate your friendly personality especially when you don't judge him by his looks. Most people were pretty scared of him since he doesn't look like a "normal student" or the others often mistaken him as a father lol. He still can't help but to be a bit insecure sometimes but he just brushes these things off making him more a bit confident about himself. So being a warm goofball, being loyal and honest to him can really catch his attention and you can form a special bond with him.

Headcannon: Like Eli, Jerry also likes women who can be helpful in the kitchen/household chores. Because of the Workers always creating trouble, it's hard for him to relax and rest so cooking his comfort food for him makes him happy. He'll also bake with you if he has the free time!

And Jerry also likes a woman who's not only kind to others but also very gentle with animals. He'll also share you pictures of little pups and kittens he saw on the street and he'll feel a bit bad when you scold him since you're worried that the stray animal will bite him lol (but he knows that you're just worried about him so he's not really pissed off at you and he always reassure you that he's careful when approaching stray animals). "Look Y/N I saw this poor kitten on the street let's take care of it!" your bf exclaimed as he carries an orange/ginger cat wrapped on a soft towel. "Jerry, are you sure? Doesn't that bite your hand? It's probably infected." you scolded him as he has that puppy eyes again which will work on you again, bastard. "Can we keep it? Please?" he pleaded as you sighed knowing that you can't stop him from adopting the animal. Besides the it looks pretty cute too. "Okay fine, give him to me" you smiled at him as his eyes sparkled even more. "I think the kitten's a girl! Let's name her Ginger!" "Ginger? That's a really nice name."

Jerry will also pair up with you in music class if you can play a musical instrument or if you have a decent singing voice if you don't mind. He can't help but stare at you when you're focused in singing or playing your instrument of choice, he finds it really cool! (Now imagine a Lookism Musical/Band AU that would be lit).

This mochi looking guy is super gentle with you which facades his tough persona when he's out to protect Jake, Big Deal and especially his sweet, kind and polite girlfriend of course. He's also warm and cuddly like a teddy bear so there's no problem with hugging him! (He'll often ask for permission if he can hug you. Respect).

Jace Park (Park Bum Jae)

Another one who's underrated af. Like I want to give this man a hug (and also child support).

To be honest he's not the type to look out or approach women. Heck, he'll be the type to say that he would rather die than stay on the Earth with only one girl who he doesn't even know. But we all know that he's a hopeless romantic deep inside. So his chances with getting a girlfriend can be pretty low (it's just his self esteem getting in the way).

But he can't help but to stay at a woman's side when she's nice, gentle, smart and fun to hang out. He can really relate and look up to a girl who seems to be relatable. You can form a special relationship with him if you're the type to read books or if you're the type to be chatty with new interesting ideas and theories with entertaining topics. With these traits like this you can easily get Jace's attention. But after that incident when the girl he was crushing on was actually a spy, his trauma just got worse.

Headcannon: He has trust issues to almost everybody. The only ones he has faith in was no other than Vasco and Burn Knuckles since he has devoted his heart on his gang that he can consider a loving family now (also Allied but not too much he's just helping them out for business). So what's the most important fundamental on a woman for him is that having a trust-worthy girlfriend. It just warms him up more and made him willing to socialize with others. It will take a lot of times to actually approach him since he's already being cautious. But knowing that Jace is smart and it's just his feelings getting in the ways sometimes, he might start talking to you.

And we all know that he's been bullied, used and hurt a bunch of times. And not wanting to appear as vulnerable and weak, he often has to put on this tough persona. But having a girlfriend whom he can trust and who will actually listen to his problems/attentive/good listener can make his stress less worse. And of course, if he really loves and appreciates you a lot he's willing to listen to your problems too and give the best advices that he can give.

He's also insecure about his ears. So having a someone who's standards in looks are not too high can boosts his confidence. He really likes it when you play with his ears despite him denying it. He doesn't like other people touching him but if it's massages coming from his someone I'm pretty sure he can't resist it. He loves your soft hands but it just depends on his mood honestly. If he's working/studying it can be a bit annoying if you start being clingy but he can't control himself from cuddling with you either. "Wow, Jace your ears are so soft like marshmallows." you fondled with your "best friend's" ears as he is reading a book. "Y/N... I'm doing something important." he groans as you won't stop playing with his ear lobes, but it honestly feels good. "You've been reading your silly book for 2 hours now." you pouted as he looks at you with a raised eyebrow. "Hey, first this book is not silly at it actually has a good plot. And second, you've been waiting for me to finish this when it will take 2 more ho-" his sentence was cut off when you gave a peck on his cheek. His inner self was screaming internally like a firecracker wanting to explode. "C'mon now silly let's go to dinner. There's a new SamG place on the street!" you exclaimed as you held his hand almost making him stumble. You can see the redness on his face reaching to his ears.

Breaking his trust can be a huge problem in your relationship. So please be honest with him.

Vin Jin (Vin Ho Bin)

I hate him at first for bullying Duke but I kin him so much lol.

Unpopular opinion: I think Vin would like women who are up to his standards. If you have a pretty face, cool vibes, nice ass and big tits he'll be chasing after you lol. He's also pretty toxic especially if it's the start of the Lookism series. He let his anger take over him so he really needs someone who's emotionally strong, mature and understanding.

He also really hates whiny girls (the ones who tries to act cute but ends up being cringy lol). There's times that he may get turned on by this but if a woman act like this most of the times he'll get agitated. So just be yourself.

Vin also likes women who share his humor. Like if you're the type to make sex jokes or dark humor a lot (y'know the memes that you can watch on Youtube), he'll definitely be more relaxed and composed around you.

He also likes stubborn and competitive women (especially the ones who's shorter than him who acts so tough lol). He really gets entertained if you started challenging him about stupid things. "VIN JIN! LET'S ARM WRESTLE AGAIN!" you challenged the raven-haired male who's wearing that silly dark shade googles again making him make a smug. "Bitch, I already won stop being an ass." he smirked at you, finding it cute when you pout at his statement. "Huh, you just cheated again dumbass!" you screeched at him while he makes a mocking expression. "Hah? And so what you gonna do about it?" "Can you both shut the fuck up?" Mary scolded the both of you because of the teacher already coming to your classroom (slay queen).

But after getting through some character development (slowly but surely), I think Vin would realize that what he really needs is an understanding woman who's also a good listener. We all know he's insecure about having his pupil hyperplasia. He'll started softening up if he has a "girl friend" who will not make fun about his eye disease.

He also really likes women who can be easily teased. Especially when you deny that you really like him even when you act like an asshole to him lmao. "C'mon Y/N I know you find me hot. Just ask me out on a date already." he smirk as he can see the blush on your cheeks getting darker. "F-FUCK OFF WILL YOU! I DON'T HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU!" "But Mary said that you li-" you hit his arms a bunch of times as he let out a guffaw at your reaction. "AND YOU BELIEVED HER?! YOU REALLY ARE A DUMBASS!"

If he's an ass, he needs someone who's both mentally stable and unstable. It's the perfect balance of destruction.

What's the ultimate ranking of all parabatai pairs in your intellectual tmi-spiral opinion

thanks for acknowledging the fact that tmi is making me a bit crazy 💛 without further ado, parabatai pairs from worst to best at being parabatai:

luke & valentine - they get some points for participating in a Parabatai Love Triangle (tm) which we all know by now is an essential part of all parabatai pairs but i think it's literally mentioned once that they were parabatai and then it's never brought up again. clearly this was the parabatai equivalent of an embarassing teenage relationship. 1.5/10

lucie & cordelia - they at least take the whole parabatai connected-souls things quite seriously but they forgot the most important part and thats that you need to actually be friends. 3/10

jace & alec - these two however absolutely did not take it seriously enough lmfaoooooo there's real love between them but they hate communicating, talking and speaking to each other SOOOO MUCH. however i kind of have to respect it? sometimes a joint parabatai slay is that they both dont actually give a fuck ab being parabatai. they were kind of real for that. 5/10

james & matthew - i acknowledge that they tried but they werent very good at it were they. i think they kind of suffer from the same thing as lucie & cordelia in the sense that they interact too little to come off as besties even though they both want to be besties. however they did have quite a few moments of unwavering homoerotic loyalty and i do love that. didnt live up to their potential though. 5.5/10

robert & michael - yeah they ended on bad terms but at least they gave us the drama and the completely insane intensity i'm LOOKING for!!!! like i said earlier, almost 20 years after his death michael was still the person robert loved the most in the entire world and michael literally came back from the dead to attend roberts funeral. perhaps robert failed to notice michael dying but thats iconic in and of itself imo do you know how deep you have to bury your emotions to not notice your parabatai's death?????? complete emotional rollercoaster i love it. 7/10 no wonder jace & alec are Like That

simon & clary - they rlly just became parabatai because they could. overhated and underrated parabatai duo i think they lack a certain je ne sais quoi that other pairs do have but i'm obsessed w their friendship so i love them anyway<3 have we considered that more ppl should just become parabatai with their besties simply because they can? besides at this rate simon will be a werewolf or something in 3 months' time anyway so we can't ever blame them for jumping on the opportunity! 7.5/10

jonathan shadowhunter & david the silent - literally invented the parabatai bond. bestie goals. couldve made it more feminist and included a woman though 🙄 8/10

emma & julian - do i even need to explain. they burned down a church. objectively awful at the whole parabatai deal though but in such an iconic life-changing culturally historically and aesthetically significant way that i dont even care. 9/10

Can we please talk about how underrated jem carstairs and james herondale and Christopher lightwood are , like I love will and I love Jace , kit , math, thomas and everyone else but we don't talk enough about jem and james ,Christopher, they are kind hearted , loving and when they love they love with their entire heart and soul, like there is no way i have ever seen them but rude to ANYONE EVER, and they are BEAUTIFUL like freaking gorgeous. And I love them.

rhaenyra and laenor’s marriage was the absolute highlight of it to me. it’s so intimate! they’ve known each other since they were kids, she knows who he is and that he won’t want this, and she’s the one to bring up, hey, you don’t have to love me; we can make the best of it. lets try to do our duty (nobody ever seems to remember that they did both TRY to have an heir!) and then you can be happy. they’re both imprisoned but they’re trying to have a good time in their prison cell together. she uses her limited power here not to demand he be dedicated to her but to ensure both of their happiness! it’s sweet!

and the dynamic between laenor & harwin & rhaenyra is underrated. the little nod that harwin and laenor give to each other as laenor takes jace and luke out of the room. the thing that annoys me most about people buying into the Bastard Problem is that i thought this little family dynamic they had going on was the best. harwin is super dedicated to her and the kids, him and laenor seem to like and respect each other at least, the kids get cool uncle harwin teaching them to fight, rhaenyra has at least two people she can count on. which matters in that period of her life. people saying she was stupid or shortsighted or flaunting obvious bastards at alicent just to be obnoxious miss the fact that there was love there

Yes yes!! you, you get it… neither Rhaenyra nor Laenor really had a choice in their getting married, and they both knew it, and they tried to make the best of a situation neither of them wanted… they tried to do their duty and to make room for personal happiness, for kindness and respect and understanding and love, and like you say, they did try to have an heir and it didn’t work out so like… what were they supposed to do? Keep trying in the hope that maybe someday it’d work out? How does that saying go — the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? All it would have led to is extreme unhappiness and still no kid…

They did their best with the cards they were dealt and it’s really. something. how people go, well they should have laid down on the altar of duty and chosen to suffer!! According to some fake gender-essentializing religion and some fake patriarchal medievish mores what they’re doing is BAD and IMMORAL!! like it's one thing to say "this is how some people in-universe would judge them for it" and another to actually... judge them for it ourselves. The fake patriarchal medievish mores are supposed to make us go "oh noes that's bad," not to be bought into wholesale.

Oh! Thank you for such a great and difficult question!

A looong text awaits heh (and I could certainly write even more!!)

I think I'll limit myself to only one character per fictional universe, and I'll only choose from internationally famous works to make it easier. I will surely forget someone and I will never be able to choose if I think it over for too long... So, without contemplating too much, and in no particular order (except for the first one), i'll go with this:

1. Dustfinger from Inkheart -- This man was probs my first fictional crush ever and my forever nostalgic number one. He's a morally gray character, deeply troubled, kind, selfish, painfully human, but also gorgeously magical. Oh, and fire loves him. Can’t beat it. Even though for children, Cornelia Funke writes and illustrates beautifully. If you haven’t read any books of hers, you should try one!

2. Fred and George Weasley (yes i'm sorry but I will write them as one unit) from Harry Potter -- Need I say more than that they make everyone laugh in times of darkness? As the youngest, and only daughter among numerous siblings, I relate a lot to Ginny, and really love these two - the ultimate big brothers.

3. Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece -- The perfect paradoxical mix of incredibly selfish but with a huge heart. Luffy just lifts everyones spirits, and he's so stupid, ambitious, and wholesome that you can’t not love him. As someone who has a hard time being impulsive and living in the now, I find him so terrific and almost inspiring.

4. Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender -- Underrated character. I would've never claimed him as my favourite when I was little (especially since i was mad for Katara), but as an adult I’ve come to see just how fuckin awesome he really is. Like, he's funny, kind, relatable, smart, strong, brave and just an all around realistic character. Love. Also, I think I just automatically love all the kind big brothers that remind me of my own ones (♡)

5. Jace Herondale from The Mortal Instruments -- Could have just as well written Will Herondale here, but I’m not going to write two Herondales on the list (especially since they are VERY similar. Will is a book nerd tho, which is like the ultimate perk). Anyways, so, after Dustfinger, my second fictional love was Jace I think. Attractive, strong, sarcastic, troubled, kind, LOVING, and with such character development and ambition. Ya. Just so so good. I think I mostly focused on his hotness as a 13 y.o tho -.-

6. Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games -- Honestly, I just love him because he shows how truly important and helpful kindness is. Loyalty, kindness and bravery - this man has them all. Plus he's a friggin baker and an artist. Like, come on, how lovely can you get??

7. John Watson from BBC's Sherlock -- Another example of a profoundly realistic character. I thought first about writing Sherlock's name, but I think I might actually love John more. He’s just so complex, but at the same time real simple. And surprisingly funny. Much, I attribute to Martin Freeman's amazing acting skills, but yeah, John's awesome.

8. Katsuki Bakugou from Boku no hero academia -- Honestly, I'm questioning myself putting him on this list, but I think he deserves a spot simply for the fact that his character development is So. Fucking. Good. Almost as good as Zuko's from atla. And he deserves a spot purely because surely the amount of fanfics I've read starring him must be telling me something.

9. Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood -- Ah, okay, so once again an older sibling who is funny, strong, kind, brave, energetic, troubled, and who loves so painstakingly strongly (I'm starting to see a pattern here...). Idk, but I just really like him. And I felt like I had to include someone from Fmab because the show slaps.

10. Victoria Spring from Solitaire (and the Osemanverse in general) -- Honestly, Tori is just such a great character, because in all her melancholy, depression and numbness, you can still find so much to love about her when reading from her perspective. Also, shes an older sibling who adores and takes great care of her little siblings. I've struggled a lot with mental illness, and I can teally relate to both Tori and Charlie's problems. So finding that I can love these two characters so much despite all their issues, makes me realise that maybe I can like myself a little bit more too

Oh since now in the third act we're adding new love interests to our already paired up couple, add in some haelena and aemond there ;)

also all this jace and alysanne, what's to happen to baela???

LOL omg that would be a whole new kind of drama. In my mind I picture Helaena as aro/ace in this story. She's happy just chilling with her kids - she doesn't strike me as the kind to need or want romantic relationships. So no Helaemond for this story!

Listen, Aemond and Alysanne are and will always be the main couple for this story. It is tagged this way for a reason.

Don't get me wrong, I love my girl Baela. She's underrated and definitely under-utilized in the show. I hope if Jace does have an affair in the North, it is with Cregan because they're both bi. This world is obviously a little different. There's more tension in the family because of Alysanne and her existence. I think both her and Baela have very valid points to be wary of each other.

I also think show Baela and book Baela are very different beings, and I'm struggling to categorize her a little. Jace does not intend to dishonour her, I will say that. He does care about her/like her, and she's evidently beautiful.

So yeah - complicated all around. Jace not wanting to make her a widow is also a valid concern imo, because widows in ASOIAF universe are not treated very well at all. hope that answers some of your question!

not sure what you've read, but here are my top 5 fics that i think are underrated...

sunlight over me no matter what i do (mistyfoot in tigerclan, it's a complete story as is, ch2 will be about avos when i get to it)

Book Review: The Dark Artifices

Author: Cassandra Clare

Genre: YA Fantasy

A story set 5 years after the events of The Mortal Instruments. Emma and the Blackthorns are no longer orphans of the war. They are stronger, wiser and all Emma wants now is to find the truth behind her parents death and get her revenge. But as things unfold there may be reasons and dangers beyond her imagination. So will she find the truth? Read the book to find out …

My thoughts: -

Honestly I think this one of the best shadowhunter book series I have read. It is definitely one of my favourites and it deserves more love and appreciation. I found the story in this series much more interesting than the other shadowhunter novels. I guess I find ‘I put my family first’ dramas much more appealing. Lets talk about this book in detail.

Plot: -

“When a decision like that is made by a government, it emboldens those who are already prejudiced to speak their deepest thoughts of hate.”

The plot is damn good. There is just so much going on, I really loved that. You will go into this book expecting to find a storyline revolving around Emma and her parents (which it does) and end up with reading about a shadowhunter style Civil War. It was interesting to see how the story ends up like that. Also, Cassie has written this book a bit differently, in her previous book series’ you will see her chapters being divided among 2-3 characters POV and some additional POVs to give us an insight into other storylines. But here in this series there were multiple storylines with multiple POV, so you keep on getting content on each plot. I guess this is one of the reasons why many don’t prefer TDA. I prefer this way as you can know what’s going on with each character in the story and they don’t feel like just a plot device.

This book series has much more involvements of the faeries which makes the story more complicated and dramatic, coz obviously fae are the same. In this book you will also see how a corrupt government and prejudice can nearly destroy a community.

Characters: -

“I came of age in Dark War. I was baptized in blood and fire.”

So if it is possible to fall in love with a character that Julian Blackthorn is that character for me. He is one good character. You can also term him as a bit morally grey and complex character. Julian has been a father to all of his siblings for all these five years and hence he is very much protective of them. He can betray and manipulate any person if that meant keeping his family together. Even the dialogues given to him are so dramatic, it just makes me love him even more. I also like his love angle with Emma, it was pretty good to me. The only point where I was disappointed is the arc that was given to him at the start of the third book (if you have read these books you know what I mean and if you haven’t you will soon) and that quickly becomes boring. Other than that he was perfect.

Emma Carstairs is our badass and sarcastic blonde (kinda like female Jace Herondale, the only exception is that I like Emma though) bent on revenge for her parents. She is a kind yet sad soul. She is a very likable character.

“I am saying the choices that we make in captivity are not always the choices we make in freedom. And thus we question them. We cannot help it.”

I am giving Kieran Kingson a special mention coz I think my guy deserves more appreciation. Seriously, he is so underrated. Both the characters in the book and people in the fandom don’t love him as much as they should. I really like the arc that was given to him. He came off as an arrogant faerie prince in the first book and quickly became an adorable faerie by the end of the third book. At least Cassie gave him the ending that he deserves.

This book really has awesome characters. Cristina definitely is overhated and for no reason whatsoever. Mark is adorable. Kit and Ty are the best duo out there, I really loved their dynamic (cannot wait for The Wicked Powers!!). Diana and Gwyn were so cool, I liked how their story proceeded, I think they should have been given more page time. It was of course lovely to read the TMI characters make their cameo in this series (they have grown soo much).

So, if you like revenge drama, family drama, corrupt government, civil war, forbidden romance, a love triangle that for once doesn’t end up in choosing between two guys, detective duo, transgender badass female ruining the bitches and group of people having tendency to put themselves in situation worse than Jace and Clary (Magnus’ words not mine), then you have to read this series. PARABATAI WEEK — day 6, underrated/fanon parabatai @carstairgray

i’m broken, torn apart, shattered and a couple more adjectives because of tftsa and it falls perfectly on the parabatai week so here are some simon x george parabatai headcanon

they place their parabatai runes on the back of their shoulders to symbolize they’ll always have each other’s back.

after the ceremony they go back to the new york institute and the rest of the gang surprises them with a party to celebrate.

simon places a stuffed rat on george’s bed before he shows him his new room, in memory of their days at the academy. the rat also has a tiny collar with “jon cartwright xxxv” engraved on it.

george jumps on the nearest chair when he sees it and his academy nightmares come back to him as simon is doubled over laughing near the door.

once the initial fear of having to deal with rats even at the institute passes, george keeps the stuffed animal and he adores it, it reminds him of their time at the academy, how he and simon met and became the brothers they are now.

they start having training sessions with jace and alec and they always end up on the ground with jace and alec triumphant over them but they put up quite a fight when fighting together.

they also like to train a lot with izzy and clary but that works way less for their skills because izzy and simon end up making out somewhere when one of them pins the other on the floor and clary and george just leave the room and go get a coffee before they can see something they won’t be able to forget. alec still talks about his nightmares regarding the time he walked in on simon and izzy in idris.

george gets to know the gang better and they all love him, but simon is especially happy when he notices him bonding a lot with izzy and clary and when he sees alec starting to trust him fully. jace ends up telling george so many stories about the first time he met simon and how he was when he first entered the shadow world, including the being-turned-into-a-rat part — george’s favorite ever since the academy — and that’s when simon knows jace really likes him too.

simon keeps schooling george in pop culture, movies, comics and the history of his band when he was a mundane and he drags george around the city in all the best places to find comics and the best film. soon enough george is making star wars references on a daily basis. though, he’ll never stop mocking simon about all the names his band went through, especially when he reveals the ones he though about during the academy that had to do with rats and other weird creatures, or grey eggs.

george often leaves to visit his family in scotland and he always takes simon with him. his parents love him and they always welcome him as a son. george couldn’t be happier and simon feels at home. he misses seeing his family every day, but he learned that for every loss there’s something to gain and this new part of a home is his own new piece of happiness.

once, though, the whole gang tagged along. george talked about the green fields and the sheep of scotland so much that they wanted to see for themselves. it’s a wild vacation and, between a hike and a tour of the nearby cities, jace gets not-so-gracefully swept off his feet by a running sheep and it’s a sight they’ll never forget or let him live down.

they have annual dinners with the group for the academy. no matter how far they’re all located from each other, they get a portal and meet in idris at least once a year and visit the muddy fields where scarsbury had them running and doing push-ups for as long as it took to kill them. beatriz and julie have also become a great pair of parabatai and jon manages not to be too obnoxious for one night a year.

simon also schooled george in the art of eating take out every day for basically all meals and told him to gently refuse every single thing that leaves the pan when it’s izzy cooking as soon as he stepped foot into the institute. surprisingly enough izzy and george find in each other some really horrible cooks who get along a lot and think they cook fantastic food while burning half the kitchen every single time they get close to a burner. simon’s desperate and he’s most likely going to loose his eyebrows in a kitchen fire soon enough. or worse, he might actually have to eat the stuff they cook one of these days. (credits to @icycoolslushie for the idea on this one)

when sizzy get married simon chooses george to be his suggenes and george cries his eyes out because his brother is so grown up and he’s getting married

once clary and simon convince the gang to celebrate halloween and they organize a halloween party at the institute for all their friends. george is the first to agree and he’s so excited. he and simon are planning matching costumes and decide to go as avatar characters — but with more covering clothes on, simon is stoic about this and george agrees it’s probably best not to risk finding themselves in the middle of a fight with a halloween night demon wearing only that little cloth around their hips — and they also kick it up a notch by dying their hair blue. except that they buy the wrong kind of dye and when the next day they wash their hair to get the colour off, it doesn’t go away. izzy and clary have to fix their mess with brown dye.

they are those friend that always do the craziest things you see on the internet and end up with the most aesthetic photos, like george in the middle of a parking lot with flashing lights surrounding him, sitting in a shopping cart and laughing, or simon naturally posing with his bow and arrow in front of a fantastic landscape and they become snapchat famous for these pics. izzy, alec and jace are pretty confused by this snapchat famous thing.

when simon moved in at the institute after the academy he installed a playstation in his room and most nights george is there with him, playing at 3am with snacks of all kinds surrounding them. izzy joins too sometimes but she’s not great at those games and has smashed a couple of joysticks after loosing multiple times, while clary kicks both their asses when she pops in for a game.

one night george entered simon’s room for a 3am game and instead found him with izzy, both of them half naked and in the middle of some sort of role play where izzy was calling simon “lord montgomery”. he never lets simon live that down and brings the name up in the most inappropriate moments — such as clave meetings — making simon choke on air every time. after that, though, george is very careful to knock.

simon’s pansexual and he’s a little afraid to come out to george at first, but he soon realizes he knows george and he wouldn’t turn his back on him, he wouldn’t leave. so when he does tell him he’s shaking slightly but he’s also happy and george clearly is too, he scoops simon into a tight hug and tells him he’s incredibly proud of him and reassures him he loves him no matter what, they’re brothers no matter what.

they’re not big on celebrations of birthdays or mundane holidays in general, but they do like to keep the traditions alive. both of them have been raised with no knowledge of the shadow world and they were observant of some religious and mundane holidays that shadowhunter don’t celebrate. so they like getting christmas gifts for everyone or organize parties for new year’s. they celebrate hanukah too and share other little traditions from their childhoods, like george’s family tradition of sheep’s wool-covered sweets and chocolates to find instead of eggs for easter or simon’s family tradition of taking a two day trip around spring to see the changing season and enjoy some free time, even if the trip is to the nearest town. they’re small traditions sometimes, but they like to keep the memories alive.

george becomes really good with max after that first encounter and the offer of raising him in his and simon’s drawer. he and simon often volunteer to babysit him, and rafe too afterwards, and they obviously use as bedtime stories the plot of star wars or comics, which the kids absolutely love.

sometimes when he’s stressed or tired george goes full on scottish and also switches to gaelic at times and simon is just there looking at him, torn between wanting to giggle at his usually contained behavior now unchecked and wanting to hug him and confort him. he always goes with the second, but he does love to hear george speak gaelic.

after the time at the academy when george was leading the mission to go after the faerie fruit vendors where simon got sucked into faerie he’s incredibly protective of simon in battle — or just all the time, actually. he’s thrown himself in front of simon more times than simon can count and he loves this kind of care, because of course he does the same whenever george is in danger, but it also makes him sad a lot because he knows george still feels guilty about that mission, even if nothing bad really happened, and he would do anything to make sure nothing similar ever happened again.

kurt - alec lightwood (maybe a little on the nose lol but um in the books at least clary kinda assumes he's gay and he has trouble with that and just i think his growth also kind of parallels kurt's change from lima to new york and being comfortable in himself)

brittany - church the immortal cat akldhglfs (no but church is an actual icon we love church 😌)(and like just kinda from how they treated brittany on the show this is the first thing that came to mind)(but like church being a fave is valid tbh lskdghsfj)

santana - isabelle lightwood or will herondale (isabelle having to let her guard down a little to open herself to love bc she has one quote about being really scared of that and i think they're really similar in that regard)(will has love issues too for a very different reason but i think santana would connect with him too and how both he and isabelle in different ways keep up walls around them and especially will sometimes takes it a little too far)

puck - jace herondale or gabriel lightwood (fucked up relationships with dad/father figures idk if this is too much like just who's similar to who haha but i stand by it)(gabriel who had to learn he didn't have to stay loyal to his piece of shit dad and could become a better person)(kinda applies to both of them)

tina - lily chen or jem carstairs (lily was in love with raphael unrequited but she still became super close with him platonically and i feel like tina would appreciate that also bc lily's a fucking iconic vampire queen)(jem bc taste 😌 lol but also like he had to wait a very long time to get what he wanted ;-; it's a lot different from tina so idk i won't get into it and make this too long 😂)

underrated aspect of the alec/jace dynamic is that while jace speaks exclusively in sarcasm, alec is incredibly bad at picking up on any kind of irony so it's completely wasted on him. chaotic duo. this probably has some sort of deeper meaning but i'm too tired to pick up on it

I usually don’t make posts like this, but this time I can’t help it.

I’m seeing a lot of hate for Jace Herondale these days and honestly, it’s kind of disturbing. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of Jace, but he does mean something to me. I see myself and my friends in the way he shrugs and grins every time someone calls him crazy, in all of his stupid innuendos and jokes. But he means a lot more to some other people, and y’all should respect that.

Like, bro. Hating on Jace doesn’t make you a cooler person. It’s seriously turning into some sort of trend, as if hating the ‘cishet white broody boy’ somehow makes you sound woke. But y’all are erasing his past, his trauma, his character growth. Did he do some assholish things? Yes he did, but the main thing is that he grew out of it. News flash : We’ve all been assholes at some point in our lives, and we’ve all grown out of it and became better people. Yes, including me. Jace is no exception.

It’s okay if you hate Jace. I don’t care, that’s your opinion. But instead of posting hate on Jace, maybe spend that time uplifting some of the more underrated characters? The fandom would be a much better place if you channel your energy into loving other characters instead of actively hating them. Please don’t turn this fandom into a toxic space. Try to spread love, not hate. That’s all I have to say.

Clary - orange (not like her hair, more like water colors when you add a bit of water)

Jace - Gold (mentioned way too much about him to be anything else)

Izzy - bright red

Simon - blue that's not really dark or light, if you imagine a blue hoodie it would be something like this

Magnus - peacock colors (he's too colorful to be just one)

Sebastian - a bright purple

Alec - watery blue or light gray

Max lightwood bane - navy blue (yeah)

Rafael lightwood bane - the kind of orange you would see in a kindergarten room

Maia - dark magenta

Lily - electric blue

Raphael - I can't choose between red or brown

Jocelyn - like a worn out couch tan (haha sorry)

Tessa - like a light mauve

Will - blue, his eyes are mentioned an ABSURD amount like way too much for me to even have space to think of something else

Mark- light sky blue (I love him I literally forgot he existed though oops)

Cristina- a darker pink but still vibrant

Ty - gray, similar to Gabriel but lighter than that

Kit- if you open your windows at sunrise that's him, the color and the feeling

Helen - a cream color (like ice cream)

Aline - wine red

James- ooh like a smoky dark gray that's almost see through, yeah for the shadow realm and all but it also gets that whole "mask" thing

Cordelia- GOLDEN HOUR COLOR IT'S PERFECT

Matthew - bright orange

Christopher - lavender and light green

Thomas - olive green but any earthy tones work well

Kamala - royal purple for sure

Grace - silver she's so silver

Eugenia- like a dark salmon or a bright yellow because of the one outfit

Barbara - a darkish brown but not like too dark (like a potato sack color? That sounds bad sorry Barbara)

Oscar the dog - gold (deserved more page time, underrated character smh)

Church - grayyy

Anna - literally couldn't think of anything

Jesse - forest green

Lucie - sky blue just works for her

Belial- (idk if I spelled that right) like when people say sickly pale skin, that's the color (ew)

Lilith - like a mom pink ( I can't even give an explanation)

Alastair - (yes I saved my favorite for last) burgandy, dark red, wine red, just any deep red suits him really well
