The more I think back on it, the more I love Renfield and its exploration of toxic relationships. The movie is just pleasantly rewatchable (its horror movie comfort food, like Christopher Landon films such as Freaky or Happy Death Day)

Infinity Pool was great, but I think Possessor is the stronger Brandon Cronenberg film. Possessor just had this disorienting, hypnotic feel that I'm not sure Infinity Pool even wants to replicate. I am definitely looking forward to whatever he makes next though - the cross-section exploration of horror and technology is such a unique brand to both Cronenbergs and their films.

Totally Killer was a really good time and made good use of its time travel plot. The slasher villain was actually pretty scary, and the gore wasn't half bad either.

The Blackening was a lot of fun as well, had some really funny moments and some good tension. I liked that I didn't recognize a lot of the actors and was very impressed with a lot of their work in this.

Talk to Me is the more interesting the more I think about it and definitely has a lot of staying power.

I've heard The Faculty was great, but sadly it's taken me this long to get around to it. Tag was also really good, at some point I do plan on getting around to Love Exposure. Hellraiser 2 has such an epic scope for a horror film that it was an immediate breath of fresh air. Possession was an absolutely bonkers allegory and worked very well. The Blob was one of the more obvious 80s classics I've somehow missed. The Keep was this foggy, chilly world war II set-horror that sadly, only exists in a butchered cut of the film. What's left is interesting and full of logical holes, but somehow the atmosphere carries it. Hopefully some day we'll discover the three hour cut in some old vault or something.

Between Last of Us, Yellowjackets, From, and House of Usher this year's horror television line-up was stacked beyond belief. That's also only what I got around to. There were some Emmy-worthy performances this year too between Bruce Greenwood in House of Usher, Nick Offerman in Last of Us, and Carla Gugino in House of Usher.

Diablo 4 definitely has a much stronger horror aesthetic than Diablo 3, the presentation of D4 is much more cinematic which helps.

Lunacid is genuinely scary at points, especially dungeon crawling through low-lit tunnels.

Chadwick Aaron Boseman (born November 29, 1976 - August 28, 2020) was an actor known for his portrayals of real-life historical figures such as Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), James Brown in Get on Up (2014), and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall (2017), and for his portrayal of the superhero, Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019). Outside of his roles as real-life historical figures and Black Panther, he appeared in films such as 21 Bridges (2019), Da 5 Bloods (2020), and Ma Rainey Blackbox (2020). He died following a four-year battle with colon cancer. He attended college at Howard University, graduating in 2000 with a BFA in directing. One of his teachers was Phylicia Rashad, who became a mentor. She helped raise funds so that he and some classmates could attend the Oxford Mid-Summer Program of the British American Drama Academy in London, to which they had been accepted. After studying directing at Howard University, he began his career in theatre, winning a Drama League Directing Fellowship and an acting AUDELCO, along with receiving a Jeff Award nomination for his 2005 play Deep Azure. Transitioning to the screen, his first major role was as a series regular on Persons Unknown (2010). He achieved international fame for playing the Marvel Comics superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from 2016 to 2019. He appeared in four MCU films, including an eponymous 2018 film that earned him an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. As the first African American actor to headline an MCU film, he was named in the 2018 Time 100. His final performance as the character in What If...? "Loki" (May)

Completing Marvel’s trifecta of Characters We’re Not Done With Yet Even Though They Died in an “Avengers” Movie, “Loki” will explore what happens after Hiddleston’s mischievous Asgardian — who died in “Infinity War” — was resurrected in an alternative timeline in “Endgame.” For one, it appears Loki runs afoul of the Time Variance Authority, an entity from Marvel Comics designated to monitor (and, if necessary, eradicate) alternative timelines, which may be why the latest trailer includes a shot of what very much looks like Black Widow. Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will make their MCU debuts as TVA officials.

MCU Tie-In: Unclear, though Loki does call for Idris Elba’s Heimdall in the latest trailer.

"What If…?" (Mid-2021)

Marvel Studios’ first animated series posits a collection of alternative storylines, including what if Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) took the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers, or what if Yondu (Michael Rooker) nabbed a young T’Challa (the late Chadwick Boseman) from Earth instead of a young Peter Quill? Jeffrey Wright will oversee it all as the Watcher, the series’ narrator.

MCU Tie-In: It’s unclear whether any of these alternative storylines will affect the larger MCU, but a multitude of MCU actors are set to do voice work, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Karen Gillan, Michael B. Jordan, Josh Brolin, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum and Natalie Portman

The Jeff the Shark comic is called It's Jeff: Infinity Comic (2021) and it can be found for free on readcomicsonline.com or other sites! That particular panel comes from the last issue (i think it's number 12). The whole comic is really cute and short, definitely worth a read!
