as excited as i am for the new good omens season, i'm also a little scared to see how they're gonna depict aziraphale's and crowley's relationship. neil himself said that he "wouldn't exclude the ideas that they are ace, or aromantic(, or trans)", and so i do trust him that we'll continue to get some nice and honestly refreshing aro ace representation, but i'm also scared that enough people were loud enough about the show being """queerbaiting""" that the producers (and everyone else involved in this process) carve in and give the people some "typical" gay love. (which, don't get me wrong, is still nice and you do deserve!)

i just hope they don't take aroace aziraphale and crowley from us. it's a love story, a queer one, even without the characters saying "i love you (romantically)" or making out.

I saw someone say that queer representation was getting worse and they had a picture of Nick Nelson in the thumbnail and I am begging people to realize that not all queer people are the same. Nick may not be important to you, but to some people he means the world. He doesn't have to speak to literally every queer person ever, no piece of media is ever going to do that.

Obviously the internet trend of misunderstanding the definition of queerbaiting has many downsides, but the one I'm most worried about is the possible poaching and endangerment of fictional "what the fuck do they have going on??" relationships.

Okay I get why saying “you’re just confused” to people about their identity is wrong. But what I don’t get is why so few people have confused as part of their sexual or romantic orientation? Like. I’m queer, and confused. I don’t know what I actually want. Am I lesbian? Bi? I think I’m ace. Am I aro as well tho? I don’t know! And that’s okay!

Having an orientation and changing it later on is okay and doesn’t invalidate the previous orientation.

Having an orientation that you can’t exactly pinpoint is also okay, no matter if it changes later or not.

I just finished Heartstopper and my bi little heart is exploding!!! I identified so much with Nick it's not funny. If only something like this had been around when I was younger I wouldn't have spent so much time and energy repressing my feelings or explaining them away.

Between Heartstopper and OFMD I don't even know what to do with myself. Please keep continuing to portray and normalize queer relationships!! The queerbaiting trauma will eventually heal. I am hopeful now.

He just found his first best friend and he’s cool and strong and makes him happy and that’s all he wants to think about rn.

On the other hand feudal Japan was surprisingly okay with two men being involved romantically (despite the problematic side of things… good place to remind everyone 03 Usagi is a teen as well), so he’s a little confused by Leo’s mixed messages.

It’s okay, they’r still kids figuring things out. And when they will, there’ll be time for kisses.

I try to stay out of discourse but i have to say something controversial. If youre genuinely upset because good omens 2 ruined your personal headcanons and feel the need to send neil gaiman asks to confirm or deny said headcanons, maybe log off idk. thats not a healthy way to interact with media or creators. And honestly no show is going to be your perfect ideal queer representation and complaining about perfectly fine representation because its not what you personally want is just awful
