"Have you eaten?
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
The room was bathed in the soft glow of your desk lamp as you sat hunched over your textbooks and notes. With an important exam looming on the horizon, you had been deep into your study session, determined to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Hours seemed to pass by in a blur as you lost yourself in the world of equations and concepts.
However, a familiar chime from your phone interrupted your concentration. You glanced at your phone, its screen displaying a text message from Felix. Curious, you unlocked your phone and read his message, "have you eaten."
A pang of guilt swept over you as you realized that it was already 2:00 PM, and you hadn't eaten since dinner the previous day. You quickly typed out a response, your fingers dancing over the keyboard, "no.."
Before you could even set your phone down, you heard the door to your room gently creak open, and there stood Felix, holding a plate of delicious-looking food. He wore a concerned expression as he said, "Please eat something, love."
You couldn't help but smile at his thoughtfulness and nodded gratefully. "Thanks, Lix," you replied, taking a spoonful of the food and savoring its flavors. The warmth of his care and the comforting taste of the meal were exactly what you needed in that moment.
Felix's concern didn't stop there. He continued, "You wanna take a break? We can sit on the couch and watch something?"
You felt a wave of relief wash over you. A break and some quality time with Felix sounded like a perfect idea. "Sure, that would be nice, Lixie," you responded, feeling immensely grateful for his presence and his ability to brighten your day, even in the midst of your hectic study schedule.
With your exam temporarily forgotten, you followed Felix to the living room, ready to relax and recharge.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Lying in bed, you felt like the world's most pitiful sick person. Despite your insistence that you would be fine, the truth was that you were far from it. The fever had left you sweating and exhausted, and all you craved was the sweet release of sleep, which eluded you like a distant dream.
Desperation had led you to scroll mindlessly through your phone, seeking any form of distraction from the relentless discomfort. As you stared at the screen, your phone buzzed, drawing your attention to a new message. It was from Felix, your ever-attentive boyfriend.
"Have you eaten?" he inquired, his concern evident even through the text.
You sighed softly and texted back, "No, not really. Just don't feel like it." Your fingers hovered over the screen, and you couldn't help but admire how sweet and caring Felix was.
A reply soon came, and it warmed your heart even more. "I ordered food for you. I'll get one of the boys to drop it off. Love you."
Your heart swelled with gratitude and affection. All you could manage to text back was a simple, "Thanks, Lixie. I love you." The rest of your message was a blur as you drifted in and out of sleep.
Time seemed to pass by in a daze, the fevered dreams blending into reality. It was hard to keep track of time, but suddenly, you heard your bedroom door creak open. You expected to see Hyunjin, as Felix would often send him over for various chores and errands. However, this time, it wasn't Hyunjin who entered.
Your bleary eyes struggled to focus as you saw Felix standing there, a gentle smile on his face. He was holding a bag of food and a bottle of water.
"You didn't think I'd let the boys handle this, did you?" he teased, his voice laced with warmth and affection.
You couldn't help but smile through your illness, and with great effort, you reached out to him. Felix crossed the room in quick strides, his concern for you evident in every step. He set the food down and took your hand gently, his touch soothing.
"I love you," he whispered, his eyes filled with tenderness.
You managed to whisper back, "I love you more."
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
The hustle and bustle of the workplace surrounded you as you diligently went about your tasks. It was a busy day, and you found yourself engrossed in your work, with only the occasional break to grab a quick snack. However, amidst the emails and assignments, your phone buzzed, momentarily drawing your attention away from the computer screen.
The name on the message made your heart skip a beat; it was Felix. His message read, "Have you eaten?" It was a simple question, but it carried with it a warmth and concern that made you feel incredibly cared for.
You quickly typed a response, your fingers tapping away on the phone's screen. "I mean kinda, just had a few snacks here and there," you replied honestly.
Felix's next message, however, took you by surprise. He texted you a specific time and place, leaving you momentarily puzzled. "What?" you texted back, your curiosity piqued.
He replied swiftly, "Meet me there."
A smile crept onto your face as you read his message. Felix's caring and thoughtful nature never ceased to amaze you. It was these small, unexpected gestures that made your heart swell with gratitude.
As you prepared to leave work to meet Felix, you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and anticipation.

It was late.
But for some reason, she couldn't sleep.
Sighing to herself as her blue eyes flitted from one waterbender form to the other, Orora could feel her hand start to fall asleep where she was resting it under her chin. Setting the scroll she had been studying to the side, the young waterbender glanced at the night sky through the window. She should probably be sleeping, considering they had an early morning tomorrow.
Picking up her bag, she put the scroll inside and was about to put it away but she paused when she spotted a paper at the very bottom of the bag. Taking it she unfolded it, and was surprised to see a drawing of Appa. Orora didn't remember keeping it.
And honestly, with Zuko being sick and then moving to the Upper Ring, she had actually forgotten that Aang, Katara and Sokka were actually in Ba Sing Se.
She gnawed at her bottom lip as set the paper aside. Had Appa found Aang? And if so, had they already left the city? Maybe if they were still here she could go and meet them.
That would be fun, she mused to herself, her mind wandering to those few days she had spent with all of them aboard the Water Tribe boat while sailing towards land.
The candle flickered low as she sat on her futon with her back against the wall. Her blanket pooled around her legs, where one was stretched out in front of her, while the other she had pulled up towards her chest a little, wrapping her arms around it in a loose embrace. As she continued to stare out the window, her mind began to wander to the first days of her journey.
They seemed like such a long time ago, and yet she remembered every single detail.
After all, she made her first friends during those few days.
                                         ————————–
With her bag slung over her shoulder, and the gentle breeze from the open waters brushing against her face, Orora could hardly dare to bring herself to believe that she was actually about to do this.
She had initially thought even getting on the boat would be a struggle, since she didn't think Master Pakku, the appointed leader of the small expedition, would even allow her to go.
But luckily, she had asked him while Katara had been standing next to him.
And that girl had been able to convince the grouchy old man and invited Orora onto the ship.
"So, are you excited? I mean this is your first time away from home right?" Katara's happy voice had Orora breaking away from her thoughts and turning to look at her. She smiled and shrugged. "I guess I'm a little nervous. I mean, I've never even seen actual land before." She said with a small laugh.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll love it. I did when I saw land and trees and plants for the first time. More then what you've seen at the Spirit Oasis." Katara reassured her, smiling she glanced over her shoulder where her brother, Aang were helping Appa settle onto the boat.
"Come on!" The girl reached out to take Orora's hand, an act that took the other girl by surprise. "Sokka? Aang? This is Orora, she's going ashore for the first time."
To say Orora was a little stunned would be an understatement. She'd just been introduced to the Avatar.
The Avatar.
Sliding down from where he sat on top of the giant bison's head, Aang grinned and held out his hand. "Hey! Nice to meet you! You must be pretty excited."
Orora blinked.
Like any other person living in their world, she had heard fantastical tales about the Avatar. She had been told about the power they possessed, had read up on all previous Avatars out of curiosity and been fascinated by it all. She had even witnessed that awesome power during the Fire Nation attack.
And yet, here stood the Avatar.
A young boy.
A kid.
Aang frowned as he waved his hand in front of Orora's face. "Erm....hello? You alright there Orora?" He asked. The girl quickly shook her head, her thoughts returning back to her as she nodded. "Yes, I'm sorry. Its nice to meet you Avatar Aang." She said, taking his hand and shaking it. "Just Aang is fine." He replied, still smiling.
A loud grunt from behind had him continuing. "Oh and this is Appa, my flying bison and this is Momo." He added when a small creature landed on his shoulder. Orora smiled, it was cute.
"So you've never gone ashore your whole life?" The other boy, Sokka, asked as he walked to stand next to them. He looked like the typical boy she had seen play soldier in the streets. Orora shrugged. "My father didn't believe in women leaving the house unless they had to." Beside her Katara frowned. "Well that's just wrong. If we had that rule at the South Pole, Sokka here would never get anything done. He relies on me to do everything for him." She added with a grin.
Sokka frowned. "Not everything." He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. Katara smiled good-naturedly at her brother before adding. "Why don't you go put your things downstairs, then we can have lunch together."
Orora nodded. "Sounds good to me."
                                        ————————–
It was a little strange being invited to sit with people her own age. Growing up she had always been something of an outcast. Girls were taught of marriage, healing, keeping house and babies the whole time they were growing up. And that was what they talked about as well.
But not Orora.
She was more interested in reading books and learning as much about waterbending as she could. And other topics as well, but waterbending was always her favorite subject. That wasn't to say other girls didn't like to learn, they did, just not at the same obsessive level as Orora.
So there she was, sitting in a small circle with Aang, Sokka, and Katara.
With no idea what to say.
"Now that you've satisfied your curiosity about Soulmates, why don't you tell us why you decided to come on this expedition?" Katara, ever the friendly and kindhearted girl asked.
As was her nature, Orora stuck to the truth.
"My father found out I used waterbending to defend myself by fighting off some Fire Nation soldiers." She shrugged. "So he banished me."
An awkward silence followed her words, where the other three stared at her before glancing at one another. Sensing that whatever she had said was wrong, a feeling she was familiar with, Orora made to leave.
"I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable. I'll just-"
"Wait, where are you going?" Aang suddenly asked, reaching out to grasp her wrist since he was sitting the closest. "You didn't make any of us uncomfortable. Its just, your news surprised us that's all."
Sokka and Katara nodded along, to which Orora blinked. Sensing that maybe she didn't have the best social skills, Katara decided to intervene. "Hey Sokka? Why don't you take out one of your maps and show Orora all the places she can go visit?"
The girl had barely gotten the word maps out of her mouth before her brother was speeding away to take them out of his bag on Appa's saddle. He'd already started to chatter away, going a mile a minute, prompting Orora to glance at Katara and Aang. "Is he always this excited about maps?" She asked. Both of them laughed, with Sokka pouting slightly at her words, before continuing with his tirade of words.
Still it was fun sitting there, bent over the map and having all three of them point out the locations she could visit, should she choose to. In between their recommendations, they began to tell stories of their own adventures while they had been visiting those locations themselves.
Orora was fascinated, and began to ask questions herself. It didn't take long before all four of them fell into a comfortable and easy rhythm where they were chatting and exchanging thoughts as if they had been doing so for a long time.
And they continued to talk, long after the sun had gone down and only stopped when Pakku said it was time for bed.
                                        ————————–
The next few days would come to be the best days Orora had ever had.
Why?
Because she made her first friends.
Orora had worried that all three of them were simply tolerating her for as long as they were there.
How wrong she was.
It actually surprised her that they wanted her around because they liked her. And truthfully, she liked them back.
Sokka with his jokes and penchant to think of himself as more then he was, always managed to make her smile. And when he got to know that she didn't know much about hand-to-hand combat, he took it upon himself to teach her a few moves. For her own safety.
"I could always use my waterbending on them." She had countered.
"Yeah, but what if you don't have water available to you?" He had asked. "Look, I've taught Katara a few moves too, even though she's good at waterbending. Its better to be prepared. Trust me."
It was strange to have someone else be so sincere with her and actually worry about her. While she went through a punching move Sokka was making her perfect, a random thought occurred to her. She paused, standing just a few feet away from Sokka and frowned at him.
"Is this what its like?" She asked.
"Is what like this?" Sokka asked with a confused frown.
"To have a brother? Is this what its like."
He may have known her for only a few days, but Sokka had learned that Orora tended to speak her mind no matter the thought. She didn't worry about offending anyone and that took guts. It kind of reminded him of Katara and her own beliefs.
Though having her ask him if having a brother meant someone looking out for her, he did feel a small amount of pity for the other girl. She'd told them about her entire family, and he couldn't really wrap his head around the fact that her brothers didn't take care of her like he took care of Katara.
Weren't all brothers supposed to take care of their sisters?
Still Sokka smiled. "Yeah, I guess in a way it is, though it also comes with healthy helping of teasing and arguing." He added with a grin.
"It must be nice." She said, her demeanor turning a little sad. "Neither of my two brothers acted like you are. Its strange. But nice." She added, to which Sokka waved an arm. "Their loss. They're missing out on having a cool sister."
Grinning at his compliment, the young girl dropped into the stance he had just taught once more, committing all that he had to teach to memory.
The best part of chatting with Sokka, was when he showed her his weapons and she created exact replicas of them out of ice. He nearly burst into happy tears when she created one for his boomerang and it had actually worked when she'd thrown it in the air.
Though it took off half of a passenger's beard as it went by.
He had looked around in confusion at the sight of the ice boomerang stuck in the post in front of him, before he began to lament the loss of his facial hair.
Sokka and Orora glanced at each other out of the corner of their eyes, identical expressions of nervousness on their faces and sneaked away as if nothing had happened.
Forming a silent pact, neither of them spoke of that moment again.
                                        ————————–
For someone who held immense power, being friends with Aang was a breeze.
Pun not intended.
On the very second day, he had offered to take her up on Appa. And Orora had very nearly screamed out in joy when he did.
"Sorry." She said, once she had calmed down. "But since I saw Appa I've wanted to go for a ride, but I didn't want to offend you by asking."
Aang shook his head. "No worries. Appa loves giving rides to new people. He thinks its the best way to travel, and I agree with him." The boy grinned, patting Appa on the nose as he did.
"Well I guess its a good thing I was saving something for him then." So saying, she quickly reached into her bag and pulled out a hunk of bread. It was a little stale, but Appa didn't seem to mind. With one swipe of his tongue, he'd swallowed the bread and let out a happy groan.
Before licking one very wet tongue all along her body.
Aang had laughed himself hoarse at her expression. Though with a quick waterbending move the saliva had been thrown into the water. Still, that did not deter her from climbing up beside Aang on Appa's head and waving at Katara and Sokka who watched from nearby.
"Appa! Yip yip!"
Her initial reaction was letting out a yelp of surprise and hanging onto Appa's reins for dear life. But that was the only sign of nervousness she showed. Pretty soon she was enjoying the cool wind in her hair and against her face. Not to mention the view from so far up.
"I agree with Appa." She said, after a few minutes of enjoying the ride in silence. "This is the best way to travel." They didn't go far, the boat they were traveling by stayed in view, but it was still an astounding experience.
"Does it always feel this freeing and amazing? Flying whenever you want to?" She sighed wistfully. Aang nodded.
"Yeah, it is. And its even better when I use my staff." Orora had seen it many times and had asked about it some time ago. "I wish I could go with you so I could fly all the time." The waterbender sighed, holding her hand out to catch a cloud as it floated by.
"Well why don't you?"
His words had her frowning at him. "What do you mean?" She asked, to which he shrugged, his arms held out in front of him where he was holding the reins. "What I mean is, you could always come travel with me, Katara and Sokka. You'll fit right in!" He added with a grin.
Orora pursed her lips, forehead creased as she thought over what he had just said.
Travel with the Avatar and his friends? That would truly be an adventure. They were all so nice and they were her friends. People who actually liked her and didn't mind that she was so forward with her words. Really Katara seemed to get a kick out of it whenever she would knock Sokka down a notch from whatever pedestal he put himself on.
And yet..........
She looked away, staring out at the horizon, the clouds floating around them. So far up here, it felt like she was in a whole other world.
Seeing her hesitate, Aang reached out to pat her on the shoulder. "You don't have to decide now. Just think about it. Its just Katara and I were talking." She stayed silent so he continued. "But I know its also important to go out into the world on your own and find yourself, as I'm sure that's what you're trying to do."
Orora raised an eyebrow at him. "How did you figure that?" Aang grinned.
"Through my mystical powers as the Avatar." He said in a low spooky voice, prompting Orora to roll her eyes and smile at him. Aang chuckled. "And also because, I'm pretty observant, and well, I can see that you feel a little lost now that you don't have a purpose in life."
Still surprised at his ability to observe so eloquently, Orora nodded. "Yeah, I mean, I want to see the world. This is going to be the first time I'm out there and just being myself and not hiding behind a mask. I've been doing it for so long that it feels strange walking around and being just myself." Aang smiled at her in an encouraging manner, prompting her to continue. "And you're right, I want to find my place in it as well. As the Avatar, you know your place in the world, and for Katara and Sokka, their place is beside you."
Silence followed her words for a good few minutes, where the both of them just sat there with Appa lazily moving through the air. Finally, with a clearing of her throat. "Maybe, in the future, when I find out more about myself, I can come with you guys?" She asked, feeling a little uncertain and shy.
Though his response told her she didn't have to feel that way at all. "Well there's a spot reserved just for you then. I'll tell Katara and Sokka too, make sure Sokka doesn't try to fill it by buying a new pet or something."
Orora laughed.
"Hey, did you know you could bend clouds because of the water in them?"
"You can really do that?"
"Yeah! Here, I'll teach you."
                                        ————————–
Katara was a force to be reckoned with.
Orora had heard whispers of the girl who had found a place in Master Pakku's class. The Healing Huts had gossiped non-stop about it. And while she had admired the girl from afar, now Orora actually got to practice and exchange knowledge with her.
The other girls at the Healing Hut had either thought her too snobbish or too intimidating for their likeness. In reality, Orora had just been uncertain when it came to approaching them.
Mostly because she didn't know how to make friends. And no matter how hard she tried, there were no texts in her father's library that could help her with that either.
Talking with Katara was easy. She was so eager and ready with a kind word. It was amazing how she had turned out after all that had happened to her. The other girl had told Orora about their mother being taken by the Fire Nation, and while Orora had never had a strong relationship with her mother, she knew it would devastate her if something were to happen to her. And even though Katara carried that sadness with her in her heart, she didn't show it.
And that was incredibly strong of her.
With her own expertise in the art of Healing, she was able to teach Katara new things. It was fun talking to another waterbender and exchanging information. Katara, for her part, taught waterbending moves Orora didn't know. Her scrolls helped, but they could only help so much. In a span of few a days, Orora learned more then she could ever hope to.
She and Katara would go through waterbending forms together in the evening. Sometimes Aang would join them, having still a long way to go till he mastered waterbending. Between the three of them it was fun and Sokka would often get splashed with water more times then they could count.
One night, after finishing a good session where Orora had taught Katara a few waterbending tricks using ice, the girls settled around the fire to chat. "I heard you guys are leaving tomorrow." Orora's words had Katara sighing and nodding.
"Yeah, we have to start flying now that we're closer to land. We need to find Aang an Earthbending teacher." She added as a way to explain further. Orora nodded, eyes staring into the small fireplace that had been created to keep them warm.
"Did you think about Aang's offer?" The younger girl asked, her voice soft and gentle as she tried to gauge the older girl's reaction. It was strange, how Orora was older then her, and yet Katara had more world experience then she did. But then, maybe it wasn't fair to compare their lives.
"Thats all I've been thinking about the past two days." Orora finally responded. "And I......I don't know." Reaching up to where her long braid rested over her shoulder, she began to play with it by running her fingers through it. The fire crackled in front of them, casting shadows all around, and a warmth to settle in them.
It reminded her of the fire she had seen when her supposed soulmate had saved her.
Allowing the silence to continue, Orora sighed before moving to lay down on her back. Already the constellations had begun to change, the further they traveled from the North Pole. Katara glanced at Orora before grinning and laying down beside her as well, arms tucked behind her head. At last, the older girl spoke.
"Katara?"
She hummed in response to show she was listening. Orora licked her lips, eyes tracing the stars above. "Do you ever wander about your place in the world?"
"Huh." Katara frowned, pausing briefly as she thought over her answer. "Well, I don't really wander about it. I mean I've always known."
Turning her head to the side, she glanced at Katara, a little surprised. "You did?"
Her gaze trained to the heavens Katara shrugged. "Yeah. I mean, when my mom died, my place was at the South Pole taking care of my family. And when we found Aang in that iceberg and decided to travel with him, my purpose shifted to making sure he got to the North Pole safely. I mean, the whole world depends on him."
Orora smiled softly, gaze returning to the sky. "In a way, the world depends on you too. Since you're making sure Aang doesn't get himself eaten while riding a sea serpent or something."
Katara laughed softly before she continued. "True. Lately though, I've found that my place in life is to fight for the innocent alongside Aang and Sokka. To try and end this war and make this world safe."
The older girl was silent for a moment. "That's a pretty big commitment to make isn't it?" She said, her voice soft. "Especially considering you're all just kids, and I don't mean that in an offending way."
Katara pursed her lips before nodding. "No, I get what you're saying. And yeah." She moved to sit up, resuming her previous position. "I suppose it is."
The two of them remained motionless for a little while, each lost in her own thoughts, contemplating on what they had just spoken about. Finally, Katara turned her head to smile at Orora who was still on her back.
"But that's my place in the world." She said with a determined gleam in her eyes. "And, I'll be seeing it through with Aang and Sokka beside me."
Sitting up, Orora smiled at the other girl. "That's very brave and noble of you Katara." Fiddling with the end of her braid, the girl pursed her lips. "I wish I had that kind of strength."
Smiling kindly, Katara reached out to wrap an arm around Orora's shoulders. "Once you find your place in the world I'm sure you'll do the same. You're very brave coming out here and thinking of going off on your own Orora. I don't think I would be able to do it."
Orora grinned at the compliment before playfully nudging Katara with her shoulder. "Yeah, but you've already done so many other things. I mean what fourteen year old can say that she's helped earthbenders bust out of prison."
The other girl grinned proudly and nodded. "True, but, my point is, that no matter what you decide Orora, we'll understand."
Sighing Orora nodded smiling at her. "Thanks Katara." She smiled back.
"Anytime."
                                         ————————–
Someone was shaking her.
"Orora?"
And calling out to her.
"Orora, wake up."
Reluctantly, she forced her eyes to open just a little. The room was bathed in early morning sunshine, and she could hear the birds chirping outside. But what really caught her attention, was Zuko crouching beside her, hand on her shoulder and looking at her with a concerned expression.
"Are you alright?" He asked, reaching up to brush her tousled hair from her face. "I came in to wake you, and you were just sitting up like this." Her back was aching from where she had been sitting up the entire night, and her neck had a slight crick in it. Nodding the girl reached up to rub her eyes. "Yeah, I just fell asleep thinking."
"And you couldn't have fallen asleep thinking while lying down?" Giving him a grumpy yet sleepy look, she raised her hand, only to cover his face with it and push him backwards, making him fall back.
"I'm still too sleepy to deal with you Zuko. At least let me wash my face first." She grumbled, already moving to stand up and stretching to get rid of some of the ache in her body. Zuko laughed as he stood. "Yeah well, you better be quick. Uncle wants us to set out within the hour."
She pushed him towards the door. "I'll be out when I'm ready."
Taking advantage of her still semi-awake state, he couldn't help but tease her more. "And that will take you two hours? Or three?"
He grinned at her as he stood at her door. Orora glared at him. "At least I don't spend half an hour on my hair making sure it falls perfectly over my forehead."
With that she slammed the door in his face.
Zuko stood there for a moment, reaching up to the aforementioned hair and running is fingers through it. "I only spend fifteen minutes on that." He called through the door.
                                         ————————–
A carriage was waiting for them outside. Iroh and Zuko were at the foot of the stairs that led up to their apartment above the tea shop, waiting for Orora to come down.
"Whats taking her so long?" The Prince grumbled, tapping his foot impatiently, his back towards the stairs. Iroh, going through a last minute checking of whatever they would need for the tea serving, glanced up and chuckled.
"You should prepare yourself for such tardiness my nephew. A lady always takes her time." Seeing movement at the top of the stairs, he smiled at the sight of his descending Pupil. "But it is always worth the wait."
Hearing her footsteps behind him, Zuko whirled around. "Finally! I knew you woul....." He trailed off, his eyes widening. Behind him, his Uncle laughed to himself before sneaking away. Orora, looking up from where she had been adjusting the folds of her dress, raised an eyebrow at him.
"It takes time to get ready Zuko." She responded, reaching up to fix her signature blue dragon comb in her hair. Since their arrival in Ba Sing Se, Orora had taken to wearing dark greens and gold. And while those dresses had been pretty on her, the lighter green of the dress she wore currently, fashioned after the latest Earth Kingdom fashion, made her an absolute vision.
Or at least to Zuko's eyes.
The soft green seemed to make her skin glow and her eyes seemed to.....Spirits! When had he begun to take notice of things like that and started writing poetry about it?!
It was all Orora's fault, he mused, as she stared up at him with a questioning look in her eyes. She made him see things in a way that even the ugliest of things looked beautiful.
After all, she had claimed his scar as beautiful, despite the fact that it marred half his face.
Or maybe it was just his lovesick brain that was making her appear much prettier to him then she really was?
Shaking himself out of his thoughts, a blush clear across her pale skin, he cleared his throat. Avoiding her gaze, he reached out to grab her hand and pull her out of the tea shop. "You better hope the Earth King doesn't mind people who are late." He said, helping her into the carriage, and climbing in behind her.
She shrugged. "If we're lucky, maybe he woke up late." Iroh laughed as he sat across from the two teens. Given his more robust figure, he had to take up one side of the carriage, while Zuko and Orora sat next to each other on the other side.
The carriage ride was silent, all three of them looking out of their respective windows and it wasn't long before they were standing in front of the palace where they were to meet the King.
"Many times I imagined myself here, at the threshold of the palace. But I always thought I would be here as a conqueror." Iroh continued, as all three of them walked towards the entrance. "Instead, we are the Earth King's personal guests, here to serve him tea." He chuckled. "Destiny is a funny thing."
Zuko glanced at Orora out of the corner of his eyes, only to catch her doing the same to him. The two smiled at one another. "It sure is, Uncle." The Prince stated.
Once inside they were shown to a spacious and beautifully decorated room. Setting the small basket he had brought down, Iroh started to unpack everything. The three of them settled next to one another, with Iroh putting the ingredients and everything else on the table. Orora helped him make it appear like a proper presentation, as they waited for the Earth King.
They waited.
And they waited some more.
And a little more.
The teapot began to steam away, and Orora yawned hugely, her eyes actually tearing up as she did.
"What's taking so long?" Zuko finally spoke up, clearly at the end of his patience.
Iroh shrugged as he poured some hot tea. "Maybe the Earth King overslept." Orora smirked at Zuko. "Well maybe I was right then."
No sooner had the words come out of her mouth when several Dai Li agents entered the room and began to create a circle around them. The moment they entered the entire atmosphere of the room changed. The hair at the nape of her neck stood up on end, an icy feeling trailed down her back as her eyes darted around.
Zuko seemed to be thinking along the same lines as her, as he leaned forward to whisper. "Something's not right."
And then suddenly, Princess Azula of the Fire Nation, and more importantly Zuko's sister and her Master's niece, was standing in front of them.
"It's tea time!" She stated, a gleam in her eyes that had nothing to do with the joy of seeing her family.
Zuko quickly stood. "Azula!" He shifted so he was standing in front of both Uncle and Orora, the latter of whom was staring at the Princess with a look that could freeze even the brightest of fires.
"Have you met the Dai Li?" Azula continued as if she were talking of the weather and not the multiple deadly earthbenders that surrounded them. "They're earthbenders, but they have a killer instinct that's so firebender. I just love it."
Orora stood to stand just behind Zuko, placing a hand on his elbow. A gesture that did not go unnoticed by the ever observant Princess, who narrowed her eyes at them. Picking up the steaming tea, Iroh smiled at his niece. "Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname 'The Dragon of the West'?" He asked, his voice pleasant.
Azula made a face, checking her nails as she spoke in a condescending tone. "I'm not interested in a lengthy anecdote, Uncle."
Iroh smiled. "It's more of a demonstration, really." He brought the cup to his lips, closing his eyes as he took a deep sip. Zuko looked over at him, smiling briefly. The next moment Orora felt him grab the hand on his elbow and pull her against him, and behind Iroh.
And not a moment too soon.
Iroh opened his mouth wide, letting a huge stream of fire. It was so intense that she could actually feel it, despite Zuko shielding her. Taking the distraction as an advantage, Iroh made an escape route through a wall and out into the corridor. Zuko kept a firm grip on her hand, pulling her along. But she quickly pulled away from his grip, pulling out a stream of water from the hidden water satchel around her thigh and sending several icicles flying through the air. Catching and stopping a few rock projectiles shot by the Agents. Up ahead was a dead end, but that didn't stop her Master, who blasted a hole through the wall, and quickly jumped down and land on some bushes.
"Quick! Jump!" He called out to her and Zuko. Orora did not hesitate, creating a frozen slide and skating down to come to a stop next to him.
She glanced back up to where Zuko stood at the edge.
"Come on! You'll be fine!" Iroh called, just as Orora yelled. "Zuko! Jump now!"
But then he said something that made her heart stop in her chest. "No! I'm tired of running! It's time I faced Azula!"
She froze, a coldness settling in the pit of her stomach. "Zuko! No!" The girl screamed, moving as if she were about to go back to him. But Iroh wasn't having it. Reaching out he quickly and rather roughly grasped her wrist and pulled her away.
"No! Master! We have to go back! We have to help him!" She cried, trying her best to break away from him, stumbling as she did. "So you could be captured like him?" Her Master yelled over his shoulder. "We have a better chance of helping him from out here!"
Despite the panic churning in her stomach, and the fact that she felt as if she were choking on her heart, the girl was quick to see sense and stopped struggling, following after him.
                                           ————————–
"That son of a hog-monkey! What in the world was he thinking?! Was he dropped on his head as a baby?! Facing off against all those Agents and his sister! I cannot believe him!"
Once they were at a safe location, all that fear had melted away to be replaced with an anger that burned in her eyes. She was growling under her breath, while also threatening to maim or seriously harm Zuko for being so stupid.
Iroh glanced at Orora as they hid behind an abandoned living quarter. He neglected to state how she had been about to follow after his nephew in the same amount of danger.
Best not to aggravate her then she already was.
Still, he shushed her, motioning for her to lean forward. "We need to secure an Agent for information. Then we shall both go to the Avatar and ask him for his help."
Orora blinked. "Wait, Aang? Can't we do this on our own? I don't want to involve him, Katara and Sokka. What if they get hurt?" Iroh shook his head. "There is strength in numbers, and it would do us well to have that on our side."
Peaking out from behind their hiding place, her Master turned back to her with a smile. "Now, lets see how good you've gotten with your bending." He motioned for her to step forward and take the lead in capturing a Dai Lee agent.
She could hear footsteps as they approached. The moment they sounded near enough, she threw her arm out, catching the Agent around the waist with a water whip and swinging him in the air. The Agent screamed his head off, his loss of composure costing him the stone gloves he wore as they fell from his hands. Twisting her arm, she slammed the man down on the ground, knocking him out.
"Excellent form my dear." Iroh applauded as he appeared at her side with some rope. "Now lets get to find the Avatar."
                                           ————————–
It really didn't take long.
Once the Agent woke, he was quick to give up any information he had. It helped speed things along that Orora threatened him with an ice dagger. She wouldn't seriously hurt him, but enough to make him see she was not in the mood for any false leads.
Iroh knocked and the door slid open to quickly reveal........the girl they had met while traveling the countryside. Orora blinked over Iroh's shoulder, having not expected her to being there.
"I need your help." Iroh stated in a grave tone, to which the girl simply waved at him. Behind her, Orora could see Sokka and Aang in varying degrees of disbelief.
"Aang! Sokka!" She called out, rushing past Iroh to envelope both boys in a brief hug. "Wait! Orora!" Aang's voice came muffled against her shoulder before she pulled back and grinned at them both.
"You cut your hair?" The girl rolled her eyes. "Really Sokka? That's the first thing you notice about me."
Sokka nodded. "Well in my defense its the first thing I observed. And your white hair." He added head tilting in curiosity. Aang, having recovered from his shock, hugged Orora again. "Its so good to see you! I like your new look." He added with a small smile, referring to her white patch of hair. Orora smiled back before Aang's attention returned to Iroh and Toph.
"You guys know each other?" He asked, surprise coating his voice. The blind girl nodded. "I met them in the woods once and knocked him down." Iroh smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. "Then he gave me some tea and some very good advice."
Iroh took a tentative step forward. "May I come in?" The girl nodded and stepped aside to allow him in. Once she'd shut the door, he turned to look at them. "Princess Azula is here in Ba Sing Se." He said, his voice grave and serious.
Aang frowned. "She must have Katara." Orora's eyes widened in horror. "She was captured too?" Sokka frowned at her words.
"Too?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow. Iroh nodded. "She has captured my nephew as well."
A beat of silence, in which Orroa glanced nervously at Aang, ready to step in. If she had to beg them to save Zuko, she would.
"Then we'll work together to fight Azula, and save Katara and Zuko." Aang finally stated, looking at Iroh and then Orora. She closed her eyes briefly, before shooting him a small smile of gratitude.
Sokka, though, had other thoughts. "Whoa there! You lost me at Zuko."
It was Iroh who stepped forward to make a case for his nephew. Placing his hands on Sokka's shoulders he spoke. "I know how you must feel about my nephew. But believe me when I tell you that there is good inside him." He said, almost sounding like he was begging Sokka to believe him.
Sokka pushed Iroh away "Good inside him isn't enough!" He stated with venom in his voice. "Why don't you come back when it's outside him too, okay?"
Aang stepped forward. "Katara's in trouble." He said, trying to reason with his friend. "All of Ba Sing Se is in trouble. Working together is our best chance."
Sokka pursed his lips, looking just as reluctant as he felt. A moment passed, before Orora stepped forward. "Sokka." She said, her voice soft. He turned to look at her. Orora gulped, pursing her lips. "He saved my life at the North Pole. I would be dead if it weren't for him. I owe him."
A beat of silence.
"Please."
Finally, something shifted in his eyes and Sokka nodded silently. Heaving a sigh of relief Orora moved to hug him briefly, to which he patted her on the back a little awkwardly.
"We brought someone along who might help us." Iroh said, already leading the way outside to the nervous looking Dai Li agent. The blind girl quickly eartbended a couple of pillars around the man, forcing him to stand up. Orora reached out, yanking away the cloth that covered his mouth.
The moment it was off, the Agent started to speak. "Azula and Long Feng are plotting a coup! They're going to overthrow the Earth King!" He confessed, eyes wide with fear at the sight of several angry looking people in front of him.
Sokka stepped forward, waving his weapon in the man's face. "My sister! Where are they keeping Katara?"
The Agent eyes the weapon nervously. "In the Crystal Catacombs of Old Ba Sing Se, deep beneath the palace." That was all the information they needed. Glancing at one another they nodded, and leaving the Agent where he was, set off to find the Catacombs.
                                           ————————–
There was no way to actually find the Catacombs.
Toph, as Orora learned the blind girl was called, was able to feel them underground. "Well, what do you know? There is an ancient city down there. But it's deep." Taking up a stance, she made a tunnel through the ground, leading downwards. Sokka stood to the side, going over what they were all supposed to do.
"We should split up." He finally said, turning to Aang. "Aang, you go with Iroh and Orora to look for Katara and the angry jerk." Turning to Iroh, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "No offense."
Iroh simply shrugged in response. "None taken." He stated in a tone that told Orora that he actually agreed with Sokka.
Continuing where he left off, he went on. "And I'll go with Toph to warn the Earth King of Azula's coup."
Orora stepped forward. "We can meet back at the Jasmine Dragon. Its the new tea shop that just opened up. Ask anyone about it. They'll know."
Sokka nodded. "Good idea. Its best if we have a meeting spot. Good luck!" With that, he patted Toph on the shoulder and led her away. Orora turned to where Iroh and Aang were standing at the entrance of the tunnel.
Inhaling deeply, she gave a nervous smile. "Well, lets get going then."
With every step they made their way deeper and deeper underground. Aang earthbended their way forward, while Iroh lit a small fire in his hand to give them light as it slowly grew darker.
"Congratulations on learning a new element Aang." Orora said, smiling at her friend. He smiled back. "Thanks Orora. I'm still getting the hang of it, but its been coming to me. Toph is a great teacher."
Orora nodded. "She looks it. Her ability to sense things with her feet is amazing." Though she was speaking normally, Orora was actually really worried about both Zuko and Katara. She just hoped neither of them were hurt.
"Have you really been traveling with Iroh and Zuko all this time?" Aang asked, a little curious about his friend's choice of companions.
"Iroh has been my teacher these past few months, and I've learned a great deal from him." She finally responded. "And.......Zuko........he...well......." She pursed her lips, her gaze flickering towards her finger where the thread was wrapped around the tip.
And that small movement was enough for Aang to stop short and stare at her. "No way!" He breathed, grey eyes wide and disbelieving. "Zuko is your soulmate?!" He asked, or rather demanded to know. They had paused where they were. "No wonder you had all those questions about Soulmates back on the boat."
He raised a hand to his forehead as he blew out a small breath. "I can't imagine what you went through when you realized your soulmate was the Prince of the Fire Nation itself."
She let out a dry chuckle. "Tell me about it. Seems fate has a weird sense of humor." Glancing at Iroh who was looking at them both patiently, she extended a hand to lay on Aang's shoulder.
"Look, I promise I'll tell you everything once we get out of here with both Katara and Zuko safe." She promised. Questions burned at the tip of his tongue, but being reminded of Katara had him nodding and moving the next piece of boulder that was in their way.
"Well at least it'll be easy for us to find Zuko. We can just follow the string." Aang said, before glancing at his own little finger. "Then again, it wouldn't have mattered since we would've found Katara the same way."
It took a moment for Orora to realize what he had just said. Grinning, she quickly threw her arms around Aang from behind in a brief yet fierce hug. "I'm so happy for you Aang. You both deserve each other." She added, to which Aang beamed, though the light in his eyes slightly diminished.
"Whats wrong?" She asked, frowning at him. Moving another section of earth out of the way, he sighed. The young Avatar was silent for a good few moments before he turned to Iroh who had remained quiet, wanting to give the both of them the time they needed to catch up and ease their worries however they could. Even if it meant idle chatter.
"So, Toph thinks you give pretty good advice, and great tea!" He added with a smile.
Iroh chuckled. "The key to both is proper aging. What's on your mind?" He asked just as Aang earthbended again before replying.
"Well, I met with this guru who was supposed to help me master the Avatar State and control this great power, but to do it, I had to let go of someone I love. And I just couldn't." All three of them came to a stop.
"Wait! He wanted you to break your bond with Katara?" Orora demanded, sounding disturbed. She turned to look at her Master.
Iroh gave her a small nod of confirmation. "Perfection and power are overrated." He stated. "I think you were very wise to choose happiness and love."
"Especially since both of them can be very hard to come by." Orora added, to which Aang nodded in agreement.
"But what happens if we can't save anyone and beat Azula?" Aang added, sounding frustrated. "Without the Avatar State, what if I'm not powerful enough?"
Iroh hummed in thought as they walked further underground, his fire the only source of light. "I don't know the answer." He responded honestly. "Sometimes, life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving." Aang earthbended the last of the rocks away to reveal the Crystal Catacombs. Iroh's fire went out and the sudden gust of wind and he smiled. "You will come to a better place."
Reaching out to place a comforting hand on Aang's arm, Orora smiled at him. "You have people standing beside you Aang. Ready to fight with you. Avatar State or no, you won't be fighting alone. And that's another kind of power."
Aang smiled in gratitude. "You've changed since I last saw you Orora." He said, to which she shrugged. "We've all changed." Lifting her hand, she observed it closely.
"Come on. Lets find our Soulmates."
                                          ————————–
Never in his wildest dreams had he thought he would be imprisoned alongside the water tribe girl he had hunted alongside the Avatar for so long.
Katara, he remembered Orora saying her name was. After the initial yelling, and his confession about loosing his mother, just as she had lost hers, they had both fallen silent.
He couldn't help but berate himself for trying to face off Azula. But then when it came to his sister, he tended to not think and just do, to try and overtake her. A sigh left him, as his mind conjured the face Orora had made when she had realized he wasn't going to follow them.
She was going to tear him a new one when they were together again. The thought of her yelling at him had a small smile pulling at his lips.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you before." Katara's apologetic voice cut through the silence.
Zuko shrugged, indifferent to her words because really, they hadn't hurt him. He'd been hurt worse by his Father. "It doesn't matter."
There was a brief pause before she continued. "It's just that for so long now, whenever I would imagine the face of the enemy, it was your face."
Raising a hand to his scar, he nodded. "My face? I see."
She shook her head, approaching him. "No, no, that's-that's not what I mean."
Zuko sighed. "It's okay. I used to think this scar marked me. The mark of the banished prince, cursed to chase the Avatar forever." He paused, as once again his mind wandered off to Orora. "But then someone made me realize that it wasn't an ugly thing. Not when there was another reason behind it." He wasn't about to tell Katara the whole story. So he just shrugged and added. "But lately, I've realized I'm free to determine my own destiny, even if I'll never be free of my mark."
Katara pursed her lips. "Maybe you could be free of it."
"What?" There was an element of disbelief in his tone. Katara nodded.
"I have healing abilities." She said, pulling out the vial that contained the water from the Spirit Oasis.
"It's a scar, it can't be healed. Besides, Orora has been traveling with us, and I'm sure she's a much better Healer then you. And if she couldn't heal it, I doubt you could." He hadn't meant to undermine her abilities, but he knew Orora more, knew that she was a strong Healer and would've offered to heal him if she could.
Katara shook her head. "She is a better Healer then I am, but she didn't have this." She held up the small vial. "This is water from the Spirit Oasis at the North Pole. It has special properties, so I've been saving it for something important." She moved to stand in front of Zuko. "I don't know if it would work, but," She trailed off, reaching up hesitantly to place her hand on his scar.
Just as Orora had done so many times.
And yet when he closed his eyes, he only envisioned her, with her gentle words and the ability to knock him in his place.
Suddenly he felt a tug on his finger.
A loud rumbling sound followed by a crash had them both jumping where they stood. As the cloud of dust settled, three figures emerged from the opening.
Aang, Iroh and Orora.
"Aang! Orora!" Katara ran to hug the both of them together, while Iroh ran to embrace Zuko. Aang smiled briefly at the hug, before glaring at Zuko. Zuko glared back at Aang, not liking the way Orora was hugging him.
Granted she was also hugging Katara, but still. "I knew you would come." Katara said to Aang before smiling at Orora. "Its so good to see you again Orora." The girl smiled back.
"And you, Spirits, you had us all worried. Both of you." She added, finally moving to give Zuko a brief hug. Brief because Zuko pushed her off a little, prompting her to look a little hurt at his dismissal. But he barely noticed as he rounded on his Uncle.
"Uncle, I don't understand. What are you doing with the Avatar?" He asked, pointing to Aang.
Aang glared at the Prince. "Saving you, that's what." He said in a slightly sarcastic tone. Zuko growled, fists clenching as he took a step in Aang's direction, but was stopped by Iroh and Orora both.
"Zuko, it's time we talked." He turned to look at Aang and Katara. "Go help your other friends. We'll catch up with you." The both of them move to walk away, but then stop when they realized Orora wasn't following them.
Noticing their hesitance, the older girl quickly smiled at them. "I'll be right there guys. I hope that spot on your team is still open for me." Nodding, the both of disappeared into a cave.
Spot on the team?
Was Orora leaving?
Was she leaving him?
She was leaving him.
Orora was leaving him.
Dread filled his heart and clouded his mind, as he turned his head to the side.
"Why, Uncle?" He voiced, the hurt evident in his tone. Though from the fact that his Uncle had gone to his enemy, the Avatar for help, or that Orora was probably leaving him to go with the Avatar, he did not know.
"You're not the man you used to be, Zuko." He smiled. "You are stronger and wiser and freer than you have ever been. And now you have come to the crossroads of your destiny. It's time for you to choose. It's time for you to choose good."
Good?
He had done good once before.
And that had earned him a scar.
He had done good before.
And had saved his soulmate, who was now leaving him.
Doing good had never worked in his favor.
He felt Orora step forward. "Zuko, you-AH!" Her words were cut off with a scream as the Crystals around them grew and encapsulated her and Iroh. Zuko assumed a fighting stance, and was greeted with the sight of his sister and two Dai Li agent sliding into the chamber.
"I expected this kind of treachery from Uncle." Azula spoke, her voice soft and sweet like honey. "But Zuko, Prince Zuko, you're a lot of things, but you're not a traitor, are you?" She asked, her voice soft at the end.
"Release them immediately!" He ordered, power behind his words as he glared at his sister. Orora grunted slightly as she tried to free herself, but stopped when Iroh shook his head at her. His message was clear.
Don't draw attention to yourself.
Azula shrugged. "It's not too late for you, Zuko. You can still redeem yourself."
Iroh, not wanting Zuko to be influenced by his sister's words tried to intervene. "The kind of redemption she offers is not for you."
Azula sighed in a way a mother would sigh at a naughty child. "Why don't you let him decide, Uncle?" She said, before turning her sweetened attention back to her brother. "I need you, Zuko. I've plotted every move of this day, this glorious day in Fire Nation history, and the only way we win is together. At the end of this day, you will have your honor back. You will have Father's love. You will have everything you want."
She painted a pretty picture. She painted the exact picture he had wanted for so long. The very picture Orora had said he deserved. He deserved honor and love. He deserved everything.
Didn't he?
Hadn't he suffered enough?
For once Orora was silent. She knew if she spoke, Azula would not hold back in shutting her up. Iroh was right, maybe it was best to stay quiet and let Zuko decide on his own. He was changed now.
He would make the right choice.
Still, that didn't stop Iroh from pleading with his nephew. "Zuko I am begging you. Look into your heart and see what it is that you truly want."
Azula shrugs. "You are free to choose." She gestured to the Dai Li agents who promptly left, probably to get reinforcements. With one backward glance at the three of them, she disappeared into the darkness of the cave where Aang and Katara had gone.
The chamber echoed with a silence that pressed against his chest. His mind whirled, his heart burned. He could feel the eyes of his Uncle and his Soulmate at the back of his head.
"Zuko." Her soft comforting voice floated through the air. "Listen to your heart. What does it tell you?" She said the same words as his Uncle.
Finally, he turned. He looked to his Uncle first, who gave him a gentle smile. Then he looked at Orora.
Amber found blue.
He knew the moment she understood what he was about to do. He could see it in her eyes.
So without a backwards glance, he followed after his sister, leaving his Soulmate to call out to him as he raced away.
As far away from those heartbroken cries as possible.
                                          ————————–
As soon as he had disappeared, Orora began to struggle even more fiercely. "We have to get out. We have to help Aang and Katara. Azula will kill them." She was speaking in an almost frenzied tone as she tried to free her wrists where they were encapsulated in Crystal.
Iroh stood where he was, his eyes closed, a look of utter sorrow and disappointment on his face. "I thought I taught him enough." He lamented.
A wave of emotion rose within her, threatened to overtake her. But she stomped it down with a vicious growl.
No!
Her friends were in danger!
Now was not the time!
And maybe, maybe they were wrong. Maybe Zuko had gone to help Aang and Katara.
Maybe he would change his mind.
Suddenly the earth rumbled and a lone Dai Li agent appeared. He quickly looked around and once he was sure no one else was there, he quickly earthbended the Crystals, freeing them both.
"I am honored to help a High Ranking Officer of the White Lotus." He said, bowing respectfully to Iroh. Iroh nodded, before turning to Orora.
"Go help your friends. I need to take care of some business."
But his Pupil was already gone.
                                          ————————–
She arrived to a horrific scene.
Aang flying through the air, crashing into a building. Azula, Zuko and more then a dozen Dai Li agents, surrounding Katara who was on the ground.
Sheer anger coursed through her veins. Taking a running start, she leaped from her heightened location, using a large wave from a nearby canal to create a slide of ice which she quickly skated down, coming to land in front of Katara.
Her arms raised on either side of her body. The water slide split apart, only to create multiple sharp yet deadly daggers of ice.
Pointing straight at her Soulmate, his sister and the Agent.
"Take one more step and I'll send one right through you." She warned, her eyes dancing with a deadly gleam as she glared at them all.
One of the Agents, thinking she was bluffing, did step forward. Only to find two ice daggers embedded in his forearms. He dropped to the floor screaming in pain as blood oozed from his wounds.
Letting out a grunt, she threw her arms out, allowing each ice dagger to fly forward. While several hit their marks to various points of injuries, many of the Agents brought up shields of rock, while Zuko and Azula simply sent forward a burst of fire, melting them.
"Out of our way peasant." Azula growled, blue fire burning in her hands. She allowed a huge ball of it to fly towards Orora, who dodged, only to be knocked flying back by a Dai Li agent. She slammed into a pillar wall. Her entire body screamed with pain as she slid to the ground. Pushing herself onto her knees, the girl shot into position once more.
It was fight or die, and her entire sense of being had gone into survival mode.
In front of her, Katara had gathered enough strength to stand up. Waving her arms she created an octopus like creature around her, and not a moment too soon.
More Dai Li agents arrived.
While several surrounded Katara, even more surrounded her. Orora growled, bringing up twin whips of water in her hand. The ends of each tip was topped with a spiked boulder of ice. She panted as her eyes darted from one enemy face to another, looking for a chance to land a shot if any of them tried anything.
But then a light shone in the chamber.
Brighter then a hundred candles.
Every eye turned to Aang as he floated in the air. His eyes and tattoos glowing.
Orora gasped. Was this it? Was he about to go into the Avatar State?
So lost were they all in the sheer power of what Aang was about to unleash, that no one noticed Azula sneaking up behind Aang.
Until it was too late.
Lightning flashed, and the tips of Azula's fingers smoked as her aim found it's target.
Aang dropped to the ground.
"No!" A scream tore from her throat. With a single move of her boulder water whips, she was able to knock down the still surprised Dai Li agents. Seeing the path clear, she ran for Aang, creating a wave to catch his body just before he crashed to the ground.
And she wasn't the only one running towards him.
Both her and Katara reached him at the same time. Katara's hair was undone, her clothes torn. And Orora was sure she was in a similar state. Tears streamed down the other girl's face, as she cradled Aang's body and wept loudly.
Knowing exactly what Katara had just lost, Orora moved to stand protectively in front of the younger children. Waving her arms in a circle around her, she managed to call the water towards her and create several circular trunks of ice in front of her. With a flick of her wrist, a sharp round slate of ice lifted from each trunk. One move and they would fly through the air, cutting off limb or head if she desired.
Her eyes were full of pure hatred when she looked at Azula.
"I will kill you." She growled in a threatening manner. Azula simply smiled in a condescending manner.
But then Orora's gaze found his.
Where she had looked at him with such trust and adoration just this morning, now there was only hurt, anger and disdain.
So powerful were her emotions, that he actually hesitated in attacking her, his stance softened and his arms lowered a little.
A blast of fire stopped Azula from attacking. Iroh, the source of the blast, jumped down from the wall of the cave and stood in front of Orora and her friends.
"You've got to get out of here. I'll hold them off as long as I can." He called over his shoulder as he sent another wall of raging fire at his own family and the agents.
Her heart dropped and fear settled in her bones. "No! Master!"
"Orora!" He roared, stopping her in her tracks. "You swore an oath to do as I asked you. You swore!"
She stopped short.
After a moment a cry of utter frustration fell from her lips, and she threw her arms forward, allowing the trunks of ice to fly through the air and take several Dai Li agents down with them.
Running towards Aang and Katara, she quickly gathered them both close. Katara looked at her with such hopeless eyes that Orora felt her heart break for the young girl.
"Hang on." She said, creating a pillar of water and waterbending all three of them out by way of a waterfall.
                                          ————————–
Once his Pupil had disappeared from view, Iroh took a deep breath and submitted. The Dai Li quickly encased him in crystals. He raised his head to see his niece smiling in a triumphant manner.
His eyes met Zuko's before Iroh looked away, ashamed, disappointed, but most of all, saddened.
                                          ————————–
It was no easy task, taking both Katara and Aang back to the tea shop. The girl was barely walking, so lost she was at the realization that her other half was dead. Luckily, the waterfall had opened up to a canal close to the tea shop, and Orora had managed to get Sokka's attention from where he kept watch on Appa.
The moment they were on, Orora wasted no time. "Appa! Yip yip" She called. They had to get out as fast as they could.
Once they were in the air, she turned her attention to Katara and Aang. The girl was placing Aang's body against Appa. And though her eyes still held that lost and devastated look, she reached around her neck to pull out a vial.
Bending the water from inside, the young girl pressed the now glowing water against the wound on Aang's back.
She was sitting beside Sokka, anxiously peering over the saddle just like the rest of them. In her heart she prayed. She prayed to every Spirit out there. She prayed to Yue.
She prayed and prayed.
A gentle glow suddenly ignited the night sky and Orora watched as Katara suddenly smiled, tears in her eyes and hugged Aang to her chest.
He was alive.
Aang was alive.
He was alive.
But then, why did she still feel like the world had ended.
                                          ————————–
"We've done it, Zuko." Azula stated as she sat on the Earth King's throne. "It's taken a hundred years, but the Fire Nation has conquered Ba Sing Se."
Zuko, still reeling from what had happened, was having a hard time believing everything. "I betrayed Uncle." He said in a low voice.
He betrayed his Soulmate.
Azula stood. "No, he betrayed you." She clarified before continuing. "Zuko, when you return home, Father will welcome you as a war hero."
Zuko shook his head. "But I don't have the Avatar. What if Father doesn't restore my honor?" He asked his sister, feeling those first lick of panic along his skin.
"He doesn't need to, Zuko." She reassured him, placing ah and on his shoulder. "Today, you restored your own honor."
With that she walked away, disappearing into the dark.
His shoulders slumped, as if the weight of the entire world was on them. His hand had been clenched in a fist at his side the entire time, but now with Azula gone, he lifted it up.
Opening his fingers he stared at the object within.
A small blue hair comb set with the carving of a dragon.

Swf please. Just want sweet fluffy
Miguel comes home from spider society after a week or so, just to find the heater is broken in the apartment again. Along his loving partner is burrowed under all his fluffy thick shirts and blanket that are fresh out of the dryer.
He finds it adorable
Hold Me Close (Miguel x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Miguel O’Hara x GN!Reader Category: Fluff Warnings: Like one swear word, suggestive content (nothing explicit), Spanish is not my first language (please let me know if I need to change anything in the comments) Word Count: 900+
A/N: Hi there! Thank you so much for your sweet request! I had a lot of fun writing this one and I hope you enjoy it! 💗
A/N/N: Y'all should definitely support @luxxtuxx! They're writing is super sweet.
“It’s been about a week, you know,” Lyla hummed as she hovered next to Miguel's cheek, the soft glow of her hologram reflecting off of his tan cheek. He grunted and tried to hide his yawn as he scrolled through the various screens in front of him. Lyla rolled her eyes, suddenly shutting off the screens with a snap of her fingers.
“Lyla,” Miguel warned as his shoulders tightened. She teleported over to the front of his face wearing a stern expression.
“Listen big guy: you haven’t slept or eaten very much in days. And frankly, you’re in dire need of a shower,” she wagged her finger in front of him like a mother chastising her child. Miguel sighed as he glanced away, pulling the screens back up with a few taps of his fingers on the keyboard.
“I’ll get to it eventually, alright?” he grunted. Lyla snapped her fingers again, shutting off the screens. Miguel’s brows furrowed as he crossed his arms.
“What about (Y/N), hm? You’ve left them all alone for a whole week!” she frowned. Miguel’s breath hitched as your despondent expression came to mind. His eyes widened before he ran a hand down his face.
“Ay, Díos…” the man said [Oh, God]. Lyla clicked her tongue as she leaned her face on the back of her hands.
“That’s what I thought,” she hummed. Miguel rolled his eyes as he tapped his watch, a portal spawning behind him.
“Just make sure everyone stays on task,” he huffed as he strolled towards the portal to your shared apartment. He lumbered towards it, nearly tripping over his own heavy feet as he stumbled through the orange-glowing rim. Miguel suddenly shivered as he landed in the living room, his hands immediately flying to brace his upper arms.
“¿Qué demonios?” he muttered, his teeth chattering as he glanced around [What the hell?]. His gaze flicked over to the heater...which happened to be coughing and sputtering. Again. He groaned and started to make his way towards it before the sound of rustling fabric drew his attention to the bedroom.
“(Y/N)? ¿Cariño?” Miguel called softly as he approached your door [Honey?]. Even the doorknob was frigid as he turned it. Miguel blinked when he saw a massive pile of blankets and his sweatshirts stacked on top of the bed. A warm smile broke out across his face as he stepped inside.
“¿Donde está mi amor, hm?” he thought aloud [Where is my love, hm?].
“Estoy aquí,” he heard your muffled voice beneath the mountain of warm clothes and blankets [I’m here]. He chuckled as he dug through the pile, his eyes eventually falling on your sweet, sleepy smile.
“Aquí estas,” Miguel whispered before planting a chaste kiss on your lips [There you are]. He loved the feeling of your smile against his skin, your kiss warming him like the summer sun. His hand came up to cup your cheek, causing you to flinch.
“Your hands are freezing!” you laughed. Miguel chuckled and pecked your temple with his plush lips.
“Lo siento, bebé,” he sighed before starting to slip away [I’m sorry, baby]. You shook your head.
"It's okay," you smiled. Miguel's smile faltered as a sudden pang of guilt plucked at his heart.
"I know...I'm just, I'm also sorry for being away for so long," he sighed, quickly getting lost in his regrets. He heard you click your tongue, drawing his attention back to you.
"It's okay. I know work has been one thing after the other this week," you said, your voice gentle and warm. He beamed.
"Gracias, mi amor," Miguel smiled [Thank you, my love]. He shifted his gaze back to the pile. "These clothes are still warm. Did you just pull them from the dryer?" he asked. You nodded again.
"Yeah, thank God I made today laundry day," you gaped. Miguel chuckled softly.
"Guess fixing the heater's my next project then," he grinned as he rubbed the back of his head. Your smile returned.
"I'd appreciate that very much, Mr. O'Hara," you winked. Miguel nodded before kissing the tip of your cold nose. You wriggled beneath the pile as he padded towards the bathroom.
“Where are you going?” you asked. He turned, the weariness from earlier returning to his face.
“Just taking a quick shower-you’re welcome to join me,” he winked. You shook your head, sinking further into the soft, blankety abyss.
“Nah, it’s waaaay too comfy underneath here,” you replied, stretching your arms beneath the pile. Miguel laughed.
“Alright. I’ll join you afterwards, then,” he said before sliding into the bathroom. After his shower he snatched a pair of his sweatpants from the mountain and began to maneuver his way next to you. You shifted as he pulled you close to his chest, inhaling the scent of your hair as he lovingly stroked your back.
“I’ll make sure to fix the heater tomorrow,” he murmured. You pressed your face against his pecs, resting your hands on his upper stomach.
“Why not fix it now?” you frowned. His eyes widened for a brief second before he smiled.
“‘Cause I‘ve been wanting to hold you this close for too long, mi vida,” Miguel murmured [my life]. There was a short pause between the two of you.
“Well, in that case…it can wait until tomorrow,” you shrugged with a sleepy grin. Miguel smiled, stroking your back gently as he watched you close your eyes, your warm breath falling against his skin.
“Buenas noches, cariño,” he whispered as he held your head close to his heart [Goodnight, honey].
“Goodnight, mi amor,” you hummed before you began to softly snore [my love]. Miguel kept his eyes on you as if he were making sure that you wouldn't disappear from his hold. Eventually, he smiled to himself before falling into a deep, much-needed sleep.

Chapter II: New Life Choices
Summary: Reader falls head over heels in love with her neighbor after a bad break-up. Will he also turn out to be her knight in shining armor as well?
Warnings: smut, language, sex, alcohol use. 18+ only!
Tumblr media
The next morning after receiving the Facebook notification, you decided you were going to take a break from social media. You went through your phone and deleted every social media app that you had. You wanted a fresh start and wanted to get back into the dating scene, although you were extremely nervous about it.
You are not an outgoing person, so you were definitely going to have to challenge yourself. You wanted to try flirting with the hot neighbor. This was going to take a lot of planning because you are not the smoothest person in the world.
You thought that it would be easiest to try and talk to him when he comes back into the coffee shop. So, you grabbed your bag and purse and headed out the door. When you walked in Johanna was leaning against the counter scrolling on her phone.
“Hey you!” Johanna excitedly said as she put her phone down onto the counter and ran over to give you a hug.
“Hi! How are you today?” You replied as you hugged Johanna.
“I’m okay! You want your usual?”
“Yeah, sounds great! Hey, has that guy come back in at all?”
“Nope! Not yet at least.” Johanna said with a wink and huge grin on her face as she walked away to make your drink. “Why’s that girly?”
“Uh…no reason really. Just curious.” You sheepishly said then headed to your table that you love to sit at.
You took out your computer and began to work on things for your marketing job. A few minutes pass, and Johanna brings over your scone and iced drink. Johanna headed back to the kitchen to bake more pastries and you were trying to concentrate on work, but all you could think about was when he would show up. You let out a deep sigh and kept typing.
About two hours had passed, and still no sign of him. Every time someone would walk in, your heart would skip a beat. Then you were immediately let down when you saw that it wasn’t him. Finally after waiting about forty-five minutes, you decided to call it a day and finish things at home.
For the next few days, you did the same routine, but still nothing. Each night you watched when he would come home and pour himself a drink at his minibar. You’d watch him loosen his tie and undo his cufflinks. After turning all your lights off and drawing your curtains, you would peek through to see if he was looking into your windows like you were into his, but he wasn’t. Not at least when you would check.
Then one evening, you decided to enjoy a glass of wine on your tiny porch. You were listening to music and just enjoying the breeze of the evening air. Something caught your attention and you quickly looked over. There in the doorway was the man. He stood leaning against the doorframe and holding a glass of whiskey.
Shit! Do something! Say something you idiot! You took a drink of wine and smiled towards him. He smiled back and your heart fluttered.
“Nice weather we’re having right?” You yelled over to him, but immediately felt dumb for saying what you did.
You cleared your throat as you felt a pit in your stomach. You wanted to curl up under the chair. Seriously?! The weather? The fucking weather!? What the hell were you thinking? Talking about the weather is one of the lamest ways to start a conversation.
“Yeah! It’s pretty nice out tonight.” he replied with a grin.
Holy shit! He’s seriously talking to me!
“I’m Y/N, I moved in not too long ago.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Billy.”
You could not believe that this was actually happening. Now you know the name of the man that you have been lusting over for about a week now. You were trying to think of something else to say, but nothing was coming out of your mouth.
“I should probably head inside, it’s getting late.” you finally said.
“Okay! Have a great night!” Billy said finding your nervousness comical.
You turned to go inside, but stopped and turned back around, “um, hey, so I was wondering if I could ask you something.”
Billy smiled and replied, “What’s up?”
“Would you…would you like to have coffee with me sometime? If not, it's totally cool! I just - I just wanted to ask and…” you were stumbling over your words, but he interrupted you.
“Sure! Tomorrow morning sound good to you?”
“Oh uh, yeah! Sounds great!”
“Alrighty, then I’ll see you in the morning at the cafe.”
“See you then!”
You went inside and let out a squeal. You were so excited and could not believe that this just happened. Tomorrow?! Panic started taking over and you began running the what if questions through your head. What if he doesn’t show? What if I say something stupid and he never wants to talk to me again? What if he comes and it’s so awkward that he just gets up and walks out? What if…
“STOP!” You yelled to yourself while grabbing your head.
You took a deep breath in and took your wine glass to the kitchen sink. As you rinsed the cup, you got lost in a daydream of how it would be if you and Billy were dating. You smiled and tilted your head as you let out a long sigh.
However, you quickly came back to reality when you dropped the glass into the sink causing it to shatter into pieces. You weren't paying attention to what you were doing, and it slipped right out of your hands. As you were picking the shards of glass out of the sink, a piece sliced your palm open. Blood instantly began to gush from the wound.
“Ow! Fuck!” You yelled as you grasped your hand with the other.
You turned the water back on and ran cold water over the cut. Finally the bleeding slowed enough for you to run into the bathroom to retrieve the first aid kit. You quickly wrapped your hand tightly with gauze. After securing your now mummified looking hand, you walked into your room and fell backwards onto your bed while letting out a loud sigh of frustration.
How were you going to explain this if he asks? Of course he is going to ask, why wouldn’t he? You kept running all sorts of things through your mind until eventually, you drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, your internal alarm clock woke you up around 7:00 a.m. Normally this annoyed you to no end, but this morning you were grateful because you had fallen asleep without setting any sort of alarm. You knew Billy didn’t mention a specific time, but you wanted to be sure to get to the cafe soon just in case he gets there early and thinks that you stood him up.
You took a quick shower, styled your long brown hair into big loose curls, and walked over to your closet. Oh God. What the hell do I wear? You grabbed a few things out and laid them onto the bed. Eventually you settled with black leggings, a white top with big sunflowers covering it, and a pair of black flats. You didn’t want to overdo it. After all, it was just coffee. Right?
You sat in the booth that you normally do and was bouncing your feet on the ground in anticipation for Billy to arrive. You had gotten to the coffee shop around 8:15 that morning. Just to be sure you didn’t miss him, you checked with Johanna to see if he had been in already. Johanna told you that he hadn’t come in yet and wished you luck this morning while squealing and giving you a tight hug.
About thirty minutes goes by, and you start to feel like you've been stood up. Your eyes begin to fill with tears from disappointment, but then, someone walks in. You look up quickly and see that it’s Billy. You hurry to dry your eyes and sit up straight to look at Billy with a big smile.
As he is walking over, he smiles back at you. Billy was a very confident man and always loved to impress the ladies. He could tell that you were nervous, but that made this all the more exciting for him.
Billy walked up, grabbed your right hand, and gave the top of your hand a gentle kiss, “I’m sorry I’m a bit late. I had something at work that needed to be dealt with before I came.”
Butterflies filled your stomach as you held onto his hand, “That’s okay. To be fair, we didn’t really set a time.”
Billy agreed and giggled as he looked down at your hands still joined. You realized you were still holding his hand and let out a gasp as you quickly let go. You immediately felt your face feel like it was on fire from embarrassment.
“I’m so sorry. I’m…” you stammer.
“Nervous?” Billy said with a grin on his face.
“Is it that obvious?”
“A bit, but it’s cute.”
Suddenly your face was on fire again and you couldn’t believe that he just called you cute. You giggle and the two of you begin to have an actual conversation. During the conversation, Johanna brought you both your drinks and tried her best to eavesdrop on what was being said. She was so happy for you.
“I hate to do this, but I have a meeting in half an hour.” Billy said while slowly running his thumb over the top of your hand as he held it.
You gaze into his dark eyes, “It’s okay, I understand. You do run the business after all.”
Billy smiles and bites his lower lip, “How about dinner tonight?”
You were in shock, but quickly answered, “Absolutely!”
He chuckled at how excited you were, “I’ll come by and get you around seven?”
“Sounds great.” you agreed.
The two of you exchanged numbers and before Billy left. He leaned down and gave you a soft kiss on the cheek.
“See you at seven sweetheart.” he whispered into your ear.
You couldn’t move. You watched him leave and could hear Johanna talking to you with pure excitement, but you couldn’t hear anything that she was saying. You were in awe and could not believe what just happened. This kind of thing does not happen to you, but it was, and you were beyond excited. Now, it’s time to go get ready.

demotivated artist!reader x bllk boys
(bachira, kaiser)
tags: gn!reader, kaisers gratuitous stripping of course, bachira being a silly little guy, kaiser being an attention whore
Tumblr media
bachira
you sat at your desk, mindlessly watching a youtube video that was supposed to be your background noise as you did your art. instead your sketchbook was left on the fresh blank page as you were completely engrossed in the video.
“aren’t you supposed to be doing something” you snapped out of your focus from the distraction and turned to see bachira cheekily smiling at you with an eyebrow raised and hands on his hips
“ugh fine you caught me,” you said as you turned back to look at your computer and felt bachira wrap his arms around you and his head rest on his shoulder.
“i just… don’t know how to start. i’ve been on an art block for weeks now and it’s starting to wear me down.” you let out a deep sigh as you rambled and tapped your pencil on the desk, “it’s just so hard to find any ideas now”
as bachira listened to your rant, he unwrapped one of his arms from your shoulder and silently reached out for your colored pens and markers with his tongue out in absolute concentration, none of which you noticed.
your ramble got interrupted the second you heard marker scratching on paper. you look down to see bachira doodling on your sketchbook
“bachira?! what the hell are you doing!?” when you said that, he quickly snatched up your sketchbook and a couple of markers and ran out the room giggling, too fast for you to catch up. ‘god why did i date a football player’ you sighed and ran out to find him
you spotted him on the couch, comfortably laying on his stomach as he continued doodling on your stolen sketchbook with your stolen markers. you immediately snatched the book out of his hands.
“i cannot believe you would take my things like that! not only did you take my sketchbook, you also drew in it without my permiss- oh wait…” your scolding trailed off as you took a look at the page he drew. you saw the vibrant squiggles and lines he did along with some star shapes and hearts.
“wow this is actually really pretty,” you said, sitting down right next to him. you took one of your pens that bachira stole from your desk and started to draw on that page, using the art bachira did as a colorful background to bring out the black ink of the figures you drew in front of it. bachira rested his head on your shoulder and watched the entire time.
“hehe looks like i once again saved the day,” bachira laughed as he looked at your ‘collaborated’ work.
you rolled your eyes at his comment. “ok fine i guess you did help with my art block,” you smiled and kissed his cheek, “i appreciate it and i appreciate you”
bachira grinned and wrapped his arms around your waist, “you are so so welcome!”
“is this something you did with your mom every time she couldn’t paint?” “oh yeah constantly” “ah should’ve guessed”
kaiser
you sat at your desk while scrolling through different photos on your laptop, trying to find something to draw since your brain was completely dried out of ideas
“babe~” you sighed as you heard a whiny voice from behind you. uh oh kaiser needs attention. you turned your head to look at him
“what do you need kaiser”
“how much longer are you gonna be in here for? you’ve already been here all day…” it’s only been an hour.
you rolled your eyes as his whining got more desperate and you spoke, “who knows at this point. i’ve been stuck for a while so you might have to wait for the rest of the day.” you glanced at him, knowing that would get to him.
“no darling! you cant stay here all day”
“well if you have any ideas for me, i’ll love to hear them”
he closed your laptop, pushing all your things aside, and sat on your desk right in front of you with his leg crossed over his knee, “how about this… you should just draw me.” he smirked as he looked down at your unimpressed face
you thought about it for a second before nodding, “you know what… that’s not too bad of an idea! i’ll do it.”
“ok great!” he said as he started taking his shirt off.
“kaiser no! i don’t need a nude model so please leave your shirt on!”
“fine…” he groaned, hesitantly removing his hands from his shirt and smoothed it out. he mumbled, “it’s nothing you haven’t seen before anyway”
you playfully rolled your eyes and got your stuff ready. you started drawing him as he did various poses while basking in all your attention. every now and then he would try to convince you that him stripping off his clothes would help more but you kept shooting that idea down. you had to deal with him constantly walking naked around the house already.
once you finished, you showed him the sketches. he wrapped his arms around you and kissed you multiple times, each one on a different spot on your face. “wow you did such a good job! you captured my beauty so well”
he took photos of your sketches while gushing about how good of an artist you are and how blessed he is for having you (and also how blessed you are for having a great and attractive model like him)
the next day while he was out at practice, he showed off your drawings to his teammates, bragging about how beautiful and talented his partner is
a/n: haha hai so like i was planning on only sticking to hcs format for this blog but i really wanted to do like a drabble/hc thingy and i also have very little writing experience so sorry if this sucks ass. hope you enjoyed it!

Meet-Cute (Binzo x Reader)
re: you meet a strange guy on the subway… he’s not so bad
i wholeheartedly agree, i think binzo would be an awkward doof, but also a bit too honest for his own good. thanks for requesting!!
Tumblr media
You could feel his eyes on you, boring into you like some animal. You tried your best to ignore it, opting to pretend to scroll through your phone as he sat directly across from you on the subway. Every time you would look up to try to catch him in the act, his eyes would frantically dart away as if he hadn’t been staring you down for the past five minutes. Your better judgment should’ve told you to be worried about some strange man’s eyes being so keen on you, but something about the way he twiddled with his thumbs so anxiously, or haphazardly drew his hand through his messy hair, made you feel like he wasn’t a threat. Strange, sure, but threatening? You didn’t think so.
You glanced back up again, and again his eyes flickered away quickly. He looked wild, untamed, but somehow equally as shy and awkward. You watched as his tongue poked out from the corner of his mouth as he pretended to read the advertisement displayed above your head. You wondered if he even knew how to read, because his eyes certainly didn’t seem like they were actually focusing on any of the words.
You slowly tucked your phone away into your pocket. If this was a game he wanted to play, you could play it too. So, you decided to stare back at him while he pretended to be preoccupied. You could tell by the way he was starting to fidget that he could feel your gaze on him, saw it from the corner of his eyes. It was making him nervous. You leaned forward, propping your elbow on your knee and letting your chin rest in your palm. Now you were making it obvious. Served him right for doing the same to you.
His leg started to bounce, and he turned his head to pretend to stare between the throngs of people standing in the subway carriage. A hand came up to nervously scratch at his neck. But you didn’t let up. You would make him acknowledge you. As you casually watched him, you couldn’t help but notice that despite his wildness, he was actually kind of cute. Like, in the way one might think a rabid squirrel is still cute despite its savage nature. You almost laughed at the thought, biting it back, but still allowing a smile to draw upon your lips.
It seemed he couldn’t take it anymore, your smile not managing to escape his attention, and he finally looked back to you, your gazes meeting. You gave a little wave. “I couldn’t help but notice that you keep staring at me,” you said. “I thought it was only fair that I should get the chance too.”
He swallowed thickly and tried clearing his throat. He opened his mouth once, decided against whatever he was going to say, and shut it. He contemplated, fingers wrenching at a frayed string from his jean jacket. He stared at you hard for another moment before finally speaking. “Oops.”
Oops? You couldn’t help but chuckle at his response. He was weird, that was for sure. A bit endearing, though. “What’s your name?”
He pointed to himself incredulously, like he had no idea why you would want to be bothered with knowing his name. “Me?” He asked.
You nodded, leaning back in your seat again and crossing your arms over your chest. The overhead comm system dinged as the subway screeched at the arrival of a stop, “Toarushi,” it announced. “Next stop: Nagata.” He didn’t move, and neither did you. The train doors closed, and it was off again.
“Ah, um…” he cleared his throat again. “Miyauchi. You can call me Binzo. If you want.”
“Binzo? Do you want me to call you Binzo?”
He nodded vigorously, some of his anxiety seemingly dissipating at the casual conversation. “Er… What’s yours?”
You responded with your name, and a wide, upbeat smile overtook his face. You felt your heart jump at the sight of it. Okay, maybe kind of cute had been an understatement. There was definitely something novel about him that seemed to draw you in. The next stop was yours, so you wanted to get in as much conversation with him as possible before it was time for you to depart. “So?”
He tilted his head, waiting for you to continue.
“So,” you repeated. “Why were you staring at me?”
His eyebrows shot up, as if it was an obvious question that shouldn’t have even necessitated his answering. Like he couldn’t imagine why you even needed to ask. “Because you’re pretty,” he answered, leaning forward slightly. “Is it okay? If I look at you?”
Your face suddenly became very hot. Now it was your turn to be the nervous mess. But, you hadn’t expected him to answer so bluntly. Usually guys would walk their way around things, try to not-so-subtly subtly let you know that they were attracted to you. But this? This was a new way of flirting, certainly. Though, it didn’t really feel like he was trying to flirt with you, more so just being strikingly honest. “Well, you can look at whatever you want to look at,” you said. “I can’t stop you.”
“I’ll stop if you want.” His earnest eyes bored into you now just as intensely as they had before.
You felt your palms start to sweat. “I don’t mind,” you replied, trying to be equally as honest but finding it hard to stay as unaffected as he was. You shifted in your seat, trying to somehow find the high ground in the conversation again. “Do you normally stare at people you think are pretty?”
“No,” he answered, crudely sticking a finger into his ear and giving it a dig. You almost snorted. “Not normally.”
“Just something you thought you’d try out?” You joked.
He looked at you seriously as he slowly stuffed his hands into the pockets of his denim jacket. He looked like he was contemplating your question. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone as pretty as you.”
This time you couldn’t help but laugh. “Well, I appreciate it. You’re not so bad yourself.”
You took note of the almost indiscernible pinkness that erupted over his neck at your words. Now it was his turn to shift in his seat, his foot ticking like it so badly wanted to start tapping anxiously at the floor. You could tell he was having trouble with responding, so you decided to bail him out by continuing. “When’s your stop, by the way?”
“Uh… The one we just left?”
You gawked at him. “You mean, you missed your stop?”
A grin split his face again. “You were talking to me.” He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. “It’ll come back around.”
You would have facepalmed if not for how endearing his blatant earnestness was. This guy was like no one you had ever met before. Though, you couldn’t help but to feel similarly to him. The blur of familiar buildings from beyond the subway windows told you that your stop was coming up. And yet, you didn’t want to stop talking to the oddball in front of you. “You didn’t have to miss your stop for me,” you said. “It’s not like we won’t talk again.”
“Huh?” He craned his head to the side, bewilderment on his face.
You smiled as you dug your phone out from your pocket, unlocking it and reaching across the aisle to hand it to him. His head remained cocked as he eyed your phone curiously. It was clear he hadn’t the slightest idea as to what you were insinuating. You rolled your eyes. “I’m asking for your number,” you clarified.
His eyes widened as they flashed back and forth between you and the phone. “Huh?” He said again.
You huffed. “So we can talk again? If you’d like?” The train began gradually screeching to a halt, having finally reached your stop. You started to pull your hand with the phone back as you spoke. “But, if you’re not interested—“
Just as the words started leaving your mouth, Binzo’s hand shot out and snatched your phone from yours with such an excitable ferocity that it almost startled you. “Yes!” He blurted, like he was afraid you’d change your mind. He started childishly one-finger tapping at your phone to put his number in, intense concentration on his face. “I didn’t think you’d be interested, is all,” he quietly muttered, more so to himself than anything, but the words still reached your ears.
The subway came to a stop as he finished putting his number in your phone, handing it back your way. You couldn’t help but notice the way his hand shook slightly. Purposefully, you grazed your fingers against his palm as you took the phone from him. He dazedly looked down at his hand where you had touched him.
You laughed as you stood up, his gaze snapping back up to meet yours. The subway doors opened with a shrill squeak, as if announcing your departure. You sent Binzo a soft smile and a wink, making him go pink again. Oh, you could get used to this. “I am very interested,” you said over your shoulder, crossing the threshold to exit. “See you next time. It’s a date.”
The doors closed, just in time for you to hear Binzo’s voice echo from inside. “Huh?!”

Pov: Pranking them
"I like you" on Valentine's day 𓍢ִ໋💭 ༘ ⋆。♡
Tumblr media
Paring: Enha X Male!reader
Genre: Fluff and Crack
Pov: Prank them "I like you" on Valentine's day 💌
[some parts don't come with "I like you" but definitely a prank and joke]
Tumblr media
ྀིHeeseung: After he saw the love letter in~
his locker, he immediately knew it was your handwriting and it was true because you left your first name letter on it too with a wink drawing. He's the type that doesn't like waiting and loves rushing, he likes to do things fast forward. While you chilled in your room, giggling, thinking what his reaction would be, did he decline your love letter or accept it? You just shrugged it off he'd never be at your doorstep, asking you to date him for real but little did you know, karma is a bitch. You suddenly got a visitor then went to open the door revealed him, towering over you with his bangs covering his dark face. He looks so intimidating, so serious. Goosebumps run down to your blood but you still greet him while sweat dripping down your forehead. He said "Your love letter has been approved, get ready we're going on a date M/N" ... "Wtf... I'm joking " he then replied "Once you're in there's no exist babe"
ྀིJay: My boys had a lot of girls head over~ him already, man is so attractive, handsome and hot at the same time with his sharp jawline like that. Of even boys had a crush on him. Your relationship with him is like a comedian and an audience, you're a comedian and he's your audience, whenever you had a chance, you'd tell him about an unserious, the funniest joke to ever exist. So when the day hit "Valentine's Day" you asked him to meet you at the school's rooftop to make it serious for him, this way he'd think you were being real and not joke about him again. Once both of you are alone, this is your time to make your move. Very dramatic, you back facing him, and said "You've liked him for so long" along with your make-up words. Well, your joke went too well with him which led him to turn your face toward him and grip your cheeks with both of his hands, lean down closer then press his lip against yours. "I thought I was the only one who had this feeling but who knows you're also too" You try to break the kiss however he's stronger than you, and both of his hands are grabbing onto your face.
ྀིJake: A heartthrob on the whole campus~ You've been friends with him for quite a while now. Joking with him is one of the reasons to make your everyday conversation with him. Today is Valentine's Day, while you scrolling on your social media, you suddenly come up with some bold idea, it's might be lead to misunderstood but a little fun joke that won't hurt anybody Plus both of you are guys, he probably just laughs it off once you telling him you like him as a joke. This idea gets you so bad, that you decide to text him through your phone with a short text that says like "I like you Jake, sorry to keep this feeling for so long. How about a date today ;)" sounds like a joke, you press the send button, wheezing on your bed, imagine his reaction. He did see your text yet he didn't answer anything. You believe that he's already got it with your joke, therefore about 15 min later, a car pulls over at your House. You open the door to see who was it afterwards Jake appears at your doorstep, holding a rose bouquet with a box of jewelry. "Took you long enough to confess your feeling love, at your service my prince, today is gonna be our day"
ྀིSunghoon: An introverted friend who likes~ to hang out with you every time he gets after his skating practice. Many girls had asked him out many times or should we say almost every day. Nevertheless, his answer is still polite "No". Since you're the only friend with him who spends a lot of your free time visiting him, taking a walk with him, and cheering for him on his competition day, he'd say you are his best buddy. As the days turned into weeks, then into months and years, both of you built a special relationship together but that didn't mean you didn't talk about jokes with him just because he's the quiet guy. While walking back home together with him, you joke about what if both of you were a couple and went on a romantic date today since it's Valentine's Day. After hearing what you said, he chuckled softly, at your idea. You believe that your joke is just a joke, and didn't work on him, and decide to walk forward as if nothing had happened but then he stops instantly, you're about to question him why but then he takes out a rose inside of his coat and hand it to you with a warm smile. "One rose for you M/N! you know what's mean right?" You don't know what to do, holding a rose he giving to you. He finally intertwined into your finger before holding it, making his way to fulfill your wish.
ྀིSunoo: An outgoing and a ray of bright~ sunshine. Even though he had a lot of friends, girl & boy and usually hang out with them, he's never left you all alone. Despite how shy you are to interact with him. Therefore after the group project with him in the class, both of you get to know each other better than before, from that day, he'd take you to the outside world very often with him. Today, at the Amusement park, eating ice cream with him, seeing many couples having a date here, makes you come up with a joke for him. You said "If you&i are a couple right now, we won't feel like a third wheel. If only you liked me back." As the words slipped from your mouth on purpose, he froze on his seat, covering his blushing red face. You're laughing at his reaction, how can he be so cute when it's just a silly joke? The moment dead down for a good minutes, you thought that it was nothing serious and he didn't take it to his heart. Well according to your plan, you fail because right now, you are being squeezed by him tight, even though he doesn't like skin ship very much but giving you a tight hug, means something for real. "We can be a cute couple now, aren't we? if only you just confess sooner~" - "wa-hwat"
ྀིJungwon: Childhood friends, also your~ neighbors too, isn't that too coincidence? If you and him are not friends that'd be hella weird. When you and him were a kid, he was so silly yet so cute with his eye-like cat, curious about a lot of things around him, as well as you. One day during that time, he asks you to date him when you're growing up and never date anyone else except him. You just chuckle and agree because once a kid, anything is possible, you agree to everything. Today is Valentine's Day, he asked you to go out with him on a friendly date at both of your favorite places Swan Lake near the neighborhood. He said you don't have to prepare anything just prepare yourself and he'll pick you up. Later on, you arrived at the lake, he then set up a picnic mat on the field of grass, along with fruit, and food too. During the time talking about his day, you came up with a prank with "I like you" as you saw in TikTok as a joke. On the other hand, when you're about to open your mouth to say he suddenly confesses "It's Valentine's Day today, you promised you'd date me when you were growing up now I want that promise back" announced, his face gives you no expression which is hard for you to understand his feeling at the moment. "Since when did you promise to date him?" That's what is on your head, trying to remember those times. While you are preprocessing your memory, he slide a flower ring onto your ring finger without telling you before holding onto your hand, softly and kissing your back hand, very lovely. "No answer needed, we're dating now!"
ྀིNi-ki: No explanation is needed, this guy~
is a walking comedian. All his friends including you like to hang out with him for this one reason. As a comedian he is, he also the type who's laughing at the bare minimum shit ever. Sometimes he likes to joke about you and him together, it's like "he would marry you if you make him laugh once more time" and many more. 14 February hit the Calendar, and the class has free time today, as a result, he gathers everyone to play a game, truth or dare. It sounds fun to you so you're in without hesitation. The game is going smoothly along with laughs, and smiles, from everybody. Now it's time for your turn to spin the bottle. The empty bottle then lands on Ni-ki who's sitting across you. Your classmates then asked you to dare him, and so did you, Ni-ki just sat, smiling from ear to ear while waiting patiently for his dare. Your classmates want you to give Ni-ki a hard dare for him, you thought to yourself for a moment before spoke. "I dare you to date me for a day!" You stated, that all your classmates went wild with your dare, even though they all know it was a joke. Meanwhile Ni-ki stayed quiet and didn't say anything before standing up from his seat and walking toward you. "why only a day when we can date from now on?"

this popped up in my head while watching riddler edits🤭🤭
but i was wondering if you could write something about the reader sending edward nude photos of herself (for his eyes only ofc) while hes at work? like he would be so flustered and hiding his phone under the desk LIKE IM JUST GIGGLING THINKING ABOUT THIS!!
Secret Delivery - Edward Nashton x Fem!Reader Headcannons (NSFW)
Contains: sending nudes, feminine reader...and a flustered Eddie. <3
Note: sorry this took a bit! I've been a little sick, but writing about blushy Edward always makes me feel better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ Your sweet, angelic Eddie. He seems to morph into a grayer and dryer version of himself with each passing day of stressful work. After coming home each night, he says very little to you before collapsing into bed. You try not to feel the strings of your heart being sawed at while his snores drone. You can't help but feel a bit...neglected.
♡ It had been...how long since he'd touched you? He was so much more than a body, of course, but you missed feeling his fingers hook themselves under your bra straps. You longed to hear his high whimpers and watch his thick thighs tremble beneath you. Goodness, you needed it.
♡ So...you decide to treat your Eddie to a little surprise.
♡ You feel like a crushing, daydream-laced girl as you spend extra time in your empty apartment applying your makeup and special lingerie. Edward had yet to see you in this little number...it was a lacy, soft pink set with bows and frills. He was going to love it, you were sure.
♡ After all, he worked so hard to make sure you were comfortable. Doesn't he deserve a reward?
♡ Your heart is hot and hammering as you scroll through the pictures you took and choose the best ones. The ones where your soft skin looked juicy and tasty enough to bite into. You wanted him to bite. You wanted him to draw blood, to leave beautiful, violet splotches of bruises. God, you wanted him down your throat. You wanted him panting, sweating, writhing. You rubbed your cloud-soft thighs together as you pulled his contact up in your messages.
♡ Should you leave a honeyed message for him to read? No...how about just the pictures? You can worry about whispering all sorts of candy-sweet things to him when he gets home. You grinned as you selected the pictures from your camera roll and hovered over the send button. Leave just enough for him to thirst for more. Make him suffer through the rest of the work day, secretly hard and leaking at the thought of you. Plague his mind like a brain-nibbling disease.
♡ Bags of weariness tug under Edward's eyes, whispering an ashy purple tint onto his peachy skin. Maybe he could get away with a wink of rest, he thinks as his head dips...
♡ Ding! His phone screen lights up. Edward squints and lowers the brightness before opening his phone.
♡ A message? Who wants to talk to him now, while he's fist fighting sleep at work?
♡ His hearts glitters like river water under shimmering sunshine. It's you! And you sent him...oh. Oh my.
♡ Edward's hands fly under his desk as he gapes at the photos. His heart pounds and his palms grow clammy as he swipes through the collection.
♡ He worships your body like you were a Greek goddess. His blood sparkles with flowing love and adoration for each part of it. But I believe he's got an especially soft spot for your breasts. Running his fingers along your sensitive nipples, sucking and moaning softly on them, just simply laying his head on the squishy skin...oh, how beautiful they look wrapped in blushing lace.
♡ His cheeks are burning hot, the skin screaming lobster red. Oh, he's going to ruin you tonight.
♡ Edward's far from a master of communication, but you should know he's missed you, too. He despises how work drives him away from your bubble of glistering love. He closes his phone and stares blankly at his computer screen. His brain is sticky mush for the rest of the work day.
♡ I wish you the best of luck trying to pry his clawing hands away from your body when he gets home. You're in for a long night. ;-)

Fulfilled Seat ☆ 。 - ᴛꜱᴜᴋꜱʜɪᴍᴀ ᴋᴇɪ
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
characters: tsukishima kei x reader
contains: nothing much, just buildup to an eventual romance !!
a/n: hi there!! this is my first ever post on tumbr, i hope that whoever ends up reading this enjoys it >> this post is heavily inspired by that one scene from kimi ni todoke, i saw it whilst scrolling on instagram and thought it was too cute to not write about. again, i hope you enjoy this little self indulgent post <3
━━━━━━━━━━━ 🦕 🦖 ━━━━━━━━━
moving to karasuno wasn't the most pleasant experience, leaving tokyo to live in a more reserved area like miyagi was well.. a new experience, it was less busy and a lot more quiet which was a welcomed change.
however, your parents had decided to move to miyagi in the midst of the school year, having moved to a foreign area, you didn't have any friends. it's not that you were shy or anxious, confident but reserved is how you would describe yourself. however, your confidence seemed to dissolve when it came to meeting new people, so as the weekend ended you were dreading your first day of school.
entering the school, you immediately headed to the office to get a map of the school and your schedule. following the directions on the map, you approached your classroom and as you entered you could see your now classmates gathering around a box.
the teacher had noticed your arrival and smiled warmly, "you must be our new student, y/n l/n. you've come at a good time, we're currently drawing out numbers for everyone's seating arrangements." nodding your head at the teacher, you drew a number from the box, 19, you were seated at the back of the class which was pleasant.
"oi, the new student has 19, what are the seats around them?" "7, 6 and 13, i hope i don't get any of those numbers." "shit, i have number 6, i have to sit right next to them, akira swap with me."
you silently endured the harsh comments from your classmates, settling in your seat wondering if it was really that bad having to sit next to you. shaking away the negative thoughts, you assured yourself that they probably preferred to sit next to people they were already accustomed to.
though, that didn't bring much ease to your now soured mood, you sighed as you watched the clock count down the minutes when class would start.
"quit sulking, you should pity the new student for having to sit next to someone as dunce as you."
hearing such kind words, you were thankful that not everyone in the classroom had distaste for you. however, you were surprised when the person who had defended your dignity snatched away the numbered paper from the impolite classmate and sat down in the seat next to yours.
still in shock, your eyes refused to leave the sight of your tall and blonde saviour. he must of noticed your staring as he questioned your dazed state, "didn't your mother ever teach you manners, princess? you might want to lift your jaw, unless you plan on getting drool all over the table.”
quickly you had corrected your stance and had stood up, going between the motions of bowing and standing. "i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to stare. please don't take offence from my actions, i was just a little shocked is all."
the tall and blonde boy had laughed, clearly entertained by your display of unease. "there's no need to apologise, my name is tsukishima kei. what's yours, or would you rather i continue to refer to you as princess?"
fixing your hair, you sat down feeling slightly flustered from essentially embarrassing yourself, "my name is y/n l/n, i've transferred from nekoma high."
the school bell had rung and only then did you notice the stare of your classmates as they had begun to take their seats, "nekoma, huh? well, princess y/n, i look forward to being your seatmate for the rest of the year."
if your cheeks were previously lukewarm, now they would be boiling. you ridiculed yourself from getting so easily worked up and tried to focus on listening to the teacher and taking down notes.
as the heat started leaving your cheeks, you smiled to yourself, perhaps moving to karasuno wouldn't be as bad you predicted.

"A Green Queen" AU
Chapter VIII
TW: Discussion of Self-ham
A few hours passed as the two discussed various agreements, commerce deals, supply exchanges, and of course the Grand Peace Flair Ball. Luigi sat on the side next to Kamek, taking notes as the MagiKoopa guided him and kept him up to pace with the conversation. He had chimmed in a few times to give his thoughts on certain guard stations or small reminders of past agreements King Totomesu had stood by. He felt a sense of distance every time the Prince or Bowser shut him down on ideas, but chalked it up to them having more experience. Kamek also reassured him each time that he was doing fine and gave a small pat on his back for comfort. They had broken conversation a few times to eat and rehydrate before they talked on end again.
And as the night fell, they had finally completed their discussion. Prince Khufo cheered and bound off to the kitchen to check on their nightly meals. Kamek, also took this opportunity to check the older scrolls for new spells and remedies for the Koopalings.
The King, however, was at the edge of the balcony looking up at the stars and humming to himself, he was ready to leave, but too tired to go too far into the palace.
Luigi fixed his papers carefully and placed a little gold slate paperweight on top, so they didn't fly off as the breeze kicked in. He stood up, hair flowed slightly, as he watched as Bowser's head turned to follow a certain passing star that shot by.
He walked over with a chair and sat down beside him, still keeping a bit of distance between them. "They're pretty... D-Do you like watching shooting stars?"
"Yeah... I usually watched them with the little ones, but I doubt we would've made it back in time to see them together.. You should see their little eyes light up when they..."
The large koopa's words trailed off as he noticed Luigi's galaxy blue eyes shimmered, eager to hear him talk fondly about his hatchlings.
"That's sweet of you... They could be watching right now. If that makes you feel any better.."
'Why does it matter what he thinks? You're just-'
"Hah! You underestimate their attention span. Ludwig is probably telling Iggy to stop trying to replicate star patterns with his bombs. And Lemmy is most likely drawing silly faces on their shells when they're distracted, speedy lil champ!" He exclaimed. "Wendy won't be so pleased, once she finds out though, she's not afraid to tackle any of them down and nip at them."
Luigi looked at him mortified. "That sounds...greaatttt.... Um.. Did they all come from the same.."
"No, you've asked before"
"When you nearly severed my arm off?"
"Hey! I apologized!", The large lizard huffed. His arms now crossed on the ledge.
Luigi chuckled a bit, "Uh huh.. What an amazing apology."
"You're damned right it was!", Bowser grinned.
Luigi snickered and rolled his eyes, enjoying the King's confidence. Bowser smiled a bit seeing the Queen's enjoyment and continued.
"I'd found most of their eggs on islands or in dense territory I had conquered. Most Koopas my size will abandon eggs once most of the clutch hatch out.", He huffed and gazed back up at the stars. "Yeah, some of them were a hassle to raise, still are, but I'd caused the entire universe to quake in fear if any of them got hurt.", He chuckled at his own comment.
Luigi eyes lifted slightly as he saw the King's gaze softened. "I raised them myself and even though they drive me insane sometimes; they're family to Junior.."
'Just Junior?'
"What about you? Aren't they your family just as much as they are Junior's?"
Bowser gave a low growl causing Luigi to stiffen.
"N-Nevermind.."
The two stayed gazing at the show, Luigi sighed and started to think about when he and Mario would watch the sky with Peach and Toad.
They shared food and witty jokes about their adventures. The countless of times they had saved or helped the kingdom and allies. It had become a second home to Mario and himself. He always felt some sort of peace being with Mario and wished he had some way to contact his brother outside of the contractual agreement.
The agreement.
In light of the situation, the dreamy atmosphere, the cool breeze. Luigi had forgotten that all of this was temporary.
He was a queen to his enemies and all of it was his fault. He agreed to be Bowser's bride, strictly married to the koopa next to him by circumstance of he and his brother's plans. Despite it being his karma, he still missed Mario, and trembled realizing the passage of time.
A light sense of pain hit his arm again but it stopped as Bowser's claw quickly removed his hand from digging into it.
"Why do you keep doing that?!", he yelled.
"It's nothing! Let go!"
"Greenie"
"I said let go! I'm fine!"
" You're not fine! Just let me see and-"
"Thank you for your concern, but I'm FINE."
Bowser's nose flared at his tone and his claw tightened around his hand slightly.
"You know you're REALLY stubborn!"
"I learned from the best...", Luigi muttered.
Bowser growled deeply, "What'sTHAT supposed to mean!". His grip tightened around Luigi's hand more as his pupils slitted and were locked on him.
Luigi winced from the pain breathing heavily then looked away shaking.
Bowser growled then roared briefly as he let go.
Luigi checked his hand for injury, only to see light bruises on the sides of his wrist. He let out a sigh of relief as he massaged them, then looked over at his captor.
Bowser sighed, his tail swayed violently as he tried to cool off. " Why can't you just talk?"
"You ask me to shut up every other time.", He muttered.
"I-", he turned around to object, but couldn't retaliate. "That's usually because you've said something stupid and you know that's not what I meant, when it comes to that."
He lightly tapped a finger on Luigi's right arm.
"I... You caused this."
The King's head tilted in confusion. "But I said-"
"I know... And I'm glad, but it doesn't erase it immediately. It still hurts me. YOU still harmed me! I want to forgive you, but every time I think I understand I begin to blame myself for not thinking about why I'm here and that all of THIS could've been avoided."
Tears swelled in his eyes the more he went on, only to be met with Bowser's perplexed expression.
"As far back as the wedding, I've just been replaying it over and over! If I didn't let my disguise slip or if I hadn't agreed to be here or if I hadn't bothered you that night! I wouldn't have gotten hurt, I wouldn't have these fucking nightmares!"
Luigi's streams of tears blurred his vision, he was regretting every ounce of information he was telling him. He didn't even bother to look over at the Koopa and kept his eyes on the stars as they reflected in his tears slightly.
Bowser blinked, he watched the small man's body shake and hiccup from crying. He reached over slightly with his claw about to say something then retracted, before getting up to leave.
Luigi sniffled as he covered his face with his hands and slowly slid them back into his hair. A light breeze made him shiver, but they didn't stop the quiet crying.
'Why did I do that... He doesn't care! Get a grip, Luigi!'
Half an hour had gone by and Luigi had rested his chin on his uninjured arm to calm down.
His pink eyes gazed out at the palace fountains and the desert beyond the gates.
Dried snot flaked on his mustache and he didn't bother to try and look for Bowser or call for Spotty once his tears stopped flowing.
Purely out of embarrassment.
As he closed his eyes, he heard claws clank against the tiles, and a mild quake rattled his chair.
He felt a warm sheet embrace him only to open his eyes and see Bowser removing a lid from a small dish with an aroma of hefty spices leaving the plate. He gestured towards his face with some wipes he'd brought back, almost ordering him to take it.
Luigi nodded and took a few to wipe off his face and 'stache, being careful of his eyes and lips. When he finished, he glanced behind him to see the blanket placed over his shoulders. A simple black velvety sheet with Bowser's emblem on it, he sighed looking at it then turned his attention to the food Bowser brought.
He hadn't said a word about his outburst and was a bit ashamed to ask, "I'm s-sorry about all of that!", Luigi laughed. "Just forget I said-"
Before he could finish, Bowser slipped food into his mouth with a spoon. As Luigi began to chew, his face lit up tasting a familiar fruit he hadn't had in a while, tomatoes.
Despite the pleasant surprise he looked up at the King confused.
"You talk too much."
".....Not usually..", he swallowed.
"You also cry worse than a hatchling."
Luigi sighed, "Probably..."
Bowser looked down at him, "So you hurt yourself because of me?"
Luigi didn't say anything nor did he move in response to his comment. He stayed staring at the stars, the blanket covering his shoulders.
Bowser hummed, understanding to not press further for now, and asked if he wanted to just eat.
Luigi nodded, his face flushed as he slightly opened his mouth for another spoonful.
Bowser's tail slowly swung as he fed him again and looked up towards the heavens. He wanted to know more about this self inflicted harm, if he could for a moment, stop the pain as quickly as each star shot above. A pit of guilt growing in his stomach, as brief as the streaks of silver, luminescent, and ever fleeting.
Spotty stepped onto the balcony and stared at the two, "Your highness. The Prince has found intruders in the palace and is requesting your...and the Queen's presence immediately."
Luigi groaned a bit and slightly stood up. His knees shaking as the crying has caused a small headache to form, making him feel dizzy.
Bowser caught him carefully and growled, "Fine, but tell him I'll be taking the Queen back to his room for the night."
"But-", Luigi stammered.
"No. You are going to rest. That's an order."
"....."
Spotty bowed, "Yes, your highness".
Bowser glanced down at Luigi and puffed, "Do you mind if I carry you?"
He shook his head slowly, not wanting to worsen his head ache. "Just...really slowly. My head is spinning.", he gasped.
Bowser nodded and gently slipped his claws under the Queen's thighs. He made sure to avoid digging his nails into the pants, despite wanting to playfully poke at Luigi's soft skin.
Luigi kept close to the koopa's chest, hearing a slow thump thump coming from his shell. He listened to its shallow rhythm and closed his eyes as Bowser carried him down the hall.
Prince Khufo yawned as he stepped down the torch-lit stairwell. His wings opened greatly as he darted down the stairs dramatically, causing the once sunset shimmering flames to blaze ocean blue.
At the bottom, he stepped into a sandstone hall, filled with nearly empty cells, holding long gone dry bones, goombas, and deserted, torn shy guy uniforms. The Prince padded past each cell with a cheeky grin and as he approached the last two his eyes lit up.
"Oh, what a treat! Thinking you could get in here unannounced? And why.. not even a single letter either. We're not plebians yknow..", he pouted.
He held one of the torches closer to the cell and the light shined onto a cloak, covering his captives face.
"Nothing? Really? Hmph, suit yourself. Maybe the Koopa King will have more fun with you and your little band of outcasts. It'll sure be quite the show~", he giggled.

You stood in front of the mirror for the umpteenth time turning to the side sighing. The leggings you put on made your butt look big, you knew it. "Why doesn't anything fit right." You said to yourself walking back to the closet. You had already gone through everything you owned and nothing looked good. The shirts too tight making your stomach show, or that your breasts werent as perky as they should be...the pants too tight either showcasing your thicker thighs or your backside, and the skirts....you couldn't even think about the skirts. You sighed again throwing on a large pair of sweatpants and a too big t-shirt, nobody needed to see any of that.
You walked into the bathroom brushing your teeth you looked in the mirror as your nose stared back at you. You were told multiple times it fit your face but you couldn't help hate it. It was too long, too wide, just too much. You finished brushing your teeth just staring at yourself. All in all you didn't feel pretty. Your hair was too frizzy, your complexion wasn't great. You never understood what your boyfriend saw in you. Loki could have any woman he looked at, but by some miracle he chose you. He had told you multiple times he adored your curves, loved your unruly hair, that everything about you made his heart flutter, but if you were honest....you didn't see it.
You finished in the bathroom walking into the bedroom seeing Loki begin to stir "Darling, why didn't you wake me?" He asked rubbing his eyes "you looked too peaceful, I couldn't." You said stopping in front of the mirror again. "Is everything alright love?" He asked as you pulled your shirt here and there "yes, I just...." you started when you felt his arms wrap around you "Darling, I have told you you are radiant, beautiful beyond compare." He said kissing your neck "loki, you don't have to lie to me, I know..." you were cut off as he spun you around "love, I am not lying. I find you ethereal in every way, I have told you this yes?" He asked as you looked down at your feet "yes loki." You whispered feeling his fingers on your chin "then trust me when I tell you you are a jewel among rocks, no other compares to you." He said smiling.
You were about to say something when his phone rang on the nightstand, drawing his attention. He walked over grabbing it sighing "I have another mission, apparently I need to infiltrate and aquire some hard drive." He said scrolling through the message. You walked up behind him, wrapping your arms around him peeking at his phone, a picture of a drop dead gorgeous woman on the screen with the words "TARGET" underneath. You cleared your throat stepping back "h..how long will you be gone?" You asked playing with the hem of your shirt "Stark says two days, hopefully it will not take that long." He said setting his phone down. "When do you have to leave?" You asked looking up at him "twenty minutes, now....where were we?" He asked holding his arms out as you stepped back from his embrace.
"Darling?" He asked looking puzzled "you should...get ready to go" you said crossing your arms over your middle "I have time, what is the matter?" He asked sternly stepping forward "I just...it's only..." you hesitated, feeling your eyes burn as you toed the carpet "please love, tell me what's wrong." He asked again. "Loki why..." you started, clearing your throat "why are you with me?" You asked quietly trying to avoid his gaze. "Y/n, I have told you..." you cut him off "Yes, you've told me loki, and I'm not stupid!" You said feeling a tear slip down your cheek "my hips are too wide...my stomach is flabby....i need a step stool to get a cup from the cabinet...you could have a woman who looks like that!" You yelled pointing at his phone "so why...I don't..." you trailed off taking a deep breath.
"Y/n, please let me..." he tried as you held your hand up "just go...go do your whatever is it with her..." you said taking a shakey breath "love, please listen to me." He tried again as you walked towards the bathroom "i...I'll see you when you you come back, if you decide to." You said walking in shutting the door. Sitting on the side of the tub you tried to wipe your cheeks hearing a knock "love, we need to talk, please." You heard Loki's voice from the other side "please Loki, just go." You said hearing silence, a few minutes later hearing the door of your shared space closing signaling he had left. You got up, slowly opening the door, confirming you were alone you walked to the bed sitting at the end you let the tears fall.
You hadn't meant to yell at him, or start a fight. You knew your insecurities get the better of you at times, and he had told you multiple times how much he loved and adored you, but your mind wouldn't listen...wouldn't believe it. It was relentless in finding faults and imperfections. No matter how hard you tried to ignore it, days like today would make them rear their ugly heads and make you doubt anything and everything, including Loki's love for you. The voice in the back of your mind telling you he's only biding his time...he'll replace you....meet someone better. You wiped your face crawling back under the covers grabbing Loki's pillow hugging it to your chest closing your eyes trying to memorize his scent.
You weren't sure how long you laid there when you heard the door open, peeking one eye open you saw Loki's tall figure in the doorway, watching him slowly close it "w..what are you doing? I thought you left?" You asked lifting your head. He walked over setting a grocery bag on the bed "I told stark i was unable to go, that I was needed here, so he sent James in my stead." He said slipping his jacket off "loki...you didn't..." he cut you off "I wanted to." He said striding to your side of the bed sitting next to you gently nudging you to look at him "love, I know there are times when those dark thoughts invade your mind, making you feel less then." He said grabbing your hand. "I know better then most how hard it is to ignore them, to not see yourself as you believe." He said looking down. "But darling, I don't want you to ever doubt my feelings for you." He said kissing your hand.
You felt your eyes burn again trying to hold yourself together as you sat up "loki, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to get upset with you, it's just...I know I'm not what people consider attractive, and i...I'm sorry im such a burden to you Loki." You said looking down. "Darling, you are never a burden." He said squeezing your hand. "Loki, I yelled at you...you canceled your mission...you..." you started when Loki placed a finger on your lips "love, I would never go on another mission again if it made you happy" He said cupping your cheek "I will gladly stay by your side day and night if that is what you wished of me." He said rubbing circles with his thumb on your cheek. "I will banish every dark thought you have of yourself with my lips." He said kissing your hand "with my touch, with my love." He said scooting towards you "that is my vow to you my love, whatever you wish of me I shall do." He smiled.
You felt a tear stream down your cheek as you lunged forward, wrapping your arms around his neck burying your face in his hair feeling his arms loop around your middle squeezing you tight. "Loki...I don't deserve you." You said shakely gripping his shirt "love, you deserve better then me, and I will show you every day how much I love you." He said as you pulled back looking at him, his hands reaching up cupping your cheeks wiping your tears with his thumbs "my sweet y/n, let me adore you the way you deserve." He smiled as a small sob left your lips "only if you let me adore you too." You smiled back at him. "I think I could allow that." He said making you laugh. "Now, I have gone to the store and picked up immense amounts of chocolate, I thought maybe you could pick one of your films and we could stay here and...indulge, just the two of us." He said "I would love that." You smiled wiping your cheeks.
You got settled in bed, putting on a movie as Loki handed you the largest chocolate bar you had ever seen making you laugh "there is much more where that came from." He smiled sifting through the bag. You looked up at him, his green eyes shining brightly, his smile lighting his face...he was beautiful in every way "what have I done in my life to deserve you?" You asked seeing his smile widen "you loved me, you showed me kindness no one else has, you accepted me for who I am when not many have." He said wrapping his arm around you "you are you love. Beautifully, perfectly you." He said kissing the top of your head. You snuggled into his chest inhaling the scent of sandlewood and leather "I love you Loki, more then you know." You said "and I you...min kjærlighet." He said holding you tighter.

⌁₊˚⊹ Jay's Silly Moods⊹˚₊⌁
(Art this is based off of)
Definitely getting back into Ninjago… Halfway through drawing this, I got a very strong urge to write a self-indulgent fic. These goobers are slowly regaining their vice grip on my brain. I might be getting to the “Requested When Shit Was Closed” prompts soon, but big possibility. Back on task, I hope you Enjoy!
Lee: Jay
Ler: Cole
Summary: Jay’s been zapping his shipmates, sneaking in quick pokes and shockingly ticklish squeezes whenever he can. While it isn't his intention, most of those are aimed at Cole. Sick of the surprise jolts, the Earth ninja has a little vengeful fun of his own.
Warnings: none! This is a tickle fic, so if you don’t like that, scroll away!!
Tumblr media
The ninja were peacefully relaxing on the couch, trying to unwind after a long day of battles and villain encounters. Cole was listening to music, the faint sounds of “dad rock” coming through his headphones as he rested his arms behind his head. Zane was messing around with his circuitry, and Kai was sprawled out, trying to nap.
The only one not lazing around was Jay; he had a much more mischievous way of cooling down in mind.
Sneaking up near the couch, he positioned himself right behind the relaxed Cole. Not wasting another second, he sent a very small amount of electricity to his finger tips, tasing Cole's sides before taking off. The rocky boy jolted out of his trance, a surprised laugh flying from his lips as his arms came crashing down.
“GYAH! W-whahat the hell?” When he turned around to his perpetrator, though, all he saw was a streak of blue disappear around the corner. “Zappy jerk…”
Zane chuckled, shaking his head before resuming his tinkering. Kai was still snoozing, oblivious to the world. With a huff, Cole lowered his arms, not wanting to risk another attack before relaxing again. Damn Jay's silly moods…
-
The whole rest of that week was full of little pokes, squeezes and zaps from the blue ninja. Whenever anyone even thought of letting their guard down, he'd be there, disappearing the moment they tried to retaliate or catch him.
Most of the team just ignored it, used to his silly behavior. Sure, it was a little annoying sometimes, but it was all in good fun. Everyone was fine with that.
Everyone except Cole.
While he loves his friend's quirks, the constant tickling was getting on his nerves. The guy wore tank-tops daily; it wasn't exactly hard for Jay to get him.
But he had a plan. One that would surely keep Jay off his back, or at least for a little while. So, sitting on the couch and sprawling out, he waited for the inevitable pokes that would seal his fellow ninja's fate.
-
Jay snickered as he saw his rocky friend, sprawled out and relaxing on the couch. It was too easy! He should have been suspicious, but the brain goblins were overpowering his rationality with mischief.
Creeping over to the couch, he sent small sparks to his fingers. Just a little closer…wait is he smili-
“GOTCHA!”
Before Jay could even think to run, Cole shot his hands upward, latching onto the sparky boy’s wrists and flipping him over the couch. Cole was careful not to hurt him, though the shriek Jay let out surely did some hearing damage.
He was pinned in seconds, stuck lying on his stomach with a rather intimidating man on his waist. Whatever his friend was gonna do, he literally couldn't see it coming.
Anticipatory giggles bubbled past Jay's lips, his eyes wide and giddy-looking. “C-Cole, wait! Lehet's talk about thihihis!”
Cracking his neck, Cole smirked down at his fellow ninja. “Neh, I'm good. Actions have consequences, Jay..”
Without another word, Cole dug into the sparky boy's sides, squeezing the sensitive skin. He was done with Jay's shit; it was payback time.
“Nohohoho! Cohome on, thihihis ihis mehehean!” The brat tried to wriggle out of the hold, but Cole's hands were just out of reach. The position he was in was evil: Who pins people on their stomach?!
“You know what's mean? Poking your friends when they're trying to get stuff done. I'd say you deserve this, wouldn’t you?” He smirked, scritching little lightning bolts on his sides. It was silly, sure, but he kinda asked for it.
Jay kicked his feet behind Cole, trying anything to make things tickle less. It was a fruitless effort, though: he was stuck.
“Plehehease! Ihit’s nohohot fahair!” His giggling sounded whiny, like a child throwing a tantrum.
Cole scoffed and rolled his eyes. He wants to see unfair? Cole’ll show him unfair…
Snickering, he moved up to the zappy boy’s ribs, digging in and wiggling his fingers between each bone. That should kill him.
“C-Cohohole! Grk- NOHOhohot thehere! I'M SOHAHARRY! NYAHAHAHA!” Jay lost it when Cole dug into his ribs, loud belly laughter quickly replacing his giggles. Little snorts and squeaks flowed with the laughter, only adding to the mild chaos.
“Hmhmph. Sparky brat…” Cole just chuckled smugly, continuing to torment his fellow ninja. Besides the payback, his cute reactions were well worth it.
Thrashing wildly, Jay laughed his ass off, the tickling on his worst spot driving him insane. “P-PLEHEASE! COHOHOLE! I CAHAHAN’T-” He patted his hand, palm flat against the floor.
The moment Cole saw the tapping-out, he knew it was time to quit. Pulling his hands away, he climbed off Jay. The giggly boy immediately curled up in a ball, tickle-drunk and giddy.
“You alive, sparky?” Cole asked while rubbing Jay's back, trying to calm him down. There was an air of humor in his tone, but he was trying to be nice.
Jay tried to catch his breath, his cheeks flush and his nerves buzzing. “F-fuhuck youhuhu…”
“Alright, alright. I'm done being mean.” Snorting, Cole pulled his friend up into a hug. It was clear he enjoyed the short bout of being tickled, the agitation just a facade.“Next time, try just asking for what you want, okay? I'd be happy to help~”
Blushing heavily, Jay whined, though he did relax into the hug. It was warm, nice, and calming after all the laughter. Muttering something under his breath, Jay leaned his head against Cole's chest. If he wanted to be mean, the rocky boy was gonna be a pillow.
Cole lifted him up with a huff, carrying the lightning ninja to their beds. He laid him down, cuddling up next to him and pulling a blanket over them both. It wasn't a rare sight: the ninja saw some things on missions, and physical contact helped keep them calm.
It was ten o’clock: not the latest for them, but good enough to doze off. Cole closed his eyes, feeling the warmth of his fellow ninja and the happy air in the room. Yeah, he could get used to Jay's goofy moods…

[31Jan2024]
This is from a one shot that's part of my Kinktober collection
"A Tumble"
Non-Dark Urge Vistri, Eary Act II, After deciding to "be real", but before his actual 'didn't drink the potion' lock-in
[cw - Injury, gore, grief, panic, magic first aid, food]
It wasn’t the first time Astarion saw her fall. She was a sorcerer; her type only ever brought some cloth and the raw, unlimited fury of the weave to battle.
“Vistri!” he’d shouted her name so sweetly the other night, and now it crawled out of his mouth as something misshapen and wretched. He sent a fiery arrow after the shadows and dropped to his knees beside her. The others finished the fight as he reached into his pack with trembling hands. Too many scrolls. So many fucking scrolls! There was one for poison, another for grease traps—for gods damned spiderwebs!
“Get up! Gods damn you!” he cried out, still searching through his pack. There was blood on her neck, but it was wrong. It wasn’t from him; the shadows did that to her. The dark in these woods was a different kind. It was thick and overbearing, like the moment after something horrible. The air around them clung to their throats, coating it with a heavy sort of gravity. It was hard to get used to and threw off all their senses, even as a Vampire and a Drow.
A ragged draw of breath stopped Astarion’s heart mid-beat. Her stillness had been deceiving. Quickly, he stuffed the scrolls back in and pulled out a potion. Gingerly, he lifted her head into his lap and dabbed a bit of its serum onto her lips, coaxing her to drink the rest. Magic and dragon blood closed her wounds. A bit of color came back to her periwinkle cheeks.
Vistri coughed, “Hello dear.”
He sighed into the sight of her living eyes and bent down to kiss her. Their lips were upside down. She laughed and kissed him back as if she weren’t just ripped open and unconscious.
Astarion felt something creep behind him and unsheathed a knife from his thigh, “Wait here a moment, love.”
He set her aside gently and stood up with a twirl. His blade stuck deep into the gut of a shadow cursed Harper, leaving him staring into the blank rotten eyes of a corpse. Astarion hadn’t seen himself once these past two hundred years, and wondered in that moment whether he had those same dead eyes. One look back at Vistri relieved him of that fear.
“Come back to my side at once,” she pouted.
Rushing, he stabbed the undead creature through its skull, and as it collapsed on its own weight, it toppled over on him. Astarion regained his balance and pushed it off, “Eugh!” Then he slid over to Vistri on his knees.
“You blasted,” he kissed her about a million times, grumpily and gratefully, “Hag!”
“Hey!”
“Stop dying, then!”
“I didn’t die, exactly. I just fell over.”
“You almost died. Not that I care anything about it.”
She smirked, “There’s something so dashing about the way you pout.”
He tried his best to frown instead, “Don’t try to flatter your way out of my concern.”
“Thought you didn’t care.”
“I don’t!” he scoffed.
Wyll and Karlach strutted towards them out of the dark, obviously smug about felling the last of their enemies.
“Oy! Children!” Karlach called out, addressing them, “Lend a hand next time, will ya?”
“I’m no child! I am over 200 years old!”
“Act like it then,” she winked cheekily.
He was ready to fight until Vistri squeezed his hand—They weren’t children. Karlach only teased them out of respect—Astarion dropped his shoulders.
“You hear that, my dear?” he quipped instead, “Karlach thinks we should act more adult.”
He scooped Vistri up by her waist and had his way with her tongue.
“Ah, love,” Wyll commented dreamily.
“Don’ know if I’d call that love,” Karlach groaned, “More like bragging.”
“What is love if not life’s greatest braggart?”
“Should write that down, mate.”
“Really? You think so.”
Karlach winked, “I’d say you were a poet and didn’t even know it.”
Astarion couldn’t really hear either of them. He could only taste her, savor her existence after how close she’d been to disappearing. Her lips were warm. They were so warm.
Wyll cleared his throat, “Um, guys? Can we go now?”
Vistri hummed dreamily as she tore herself away, “If I can stand on two feet.”
“If you can’t, I’m sure prince charming down there would be happy to carry you.”
Karlach laughed as if the idea were absolutely hysterical, “As if!”
Astarion stood up in offense, “As if?!”
“Come on, Fangs! Be real about it. Carry someone? All the way back to the inn?”
Before she knew what was happening, Vistri found herself swept up and thrown over Astarion’s shoulder like a heavy sack. She squealed in a mixture of terror and delight.
“I’m not as useless as I may seem!” Astarion grumbled, tossing Vistri a bit to adjust his hold. Neither Karlach nor Wyll argued, but they did raise their brows.
Shrieking was common in the Shadow Curse lands, but the way Vistri did it was startlingly out of place. It had laughter and happy shock in it, “Your face is right by my bum!”
“Is that a bad thing, darling?”
“But what if I fart?!”
“Don’t you dare!”
“Quit tossing me about so much then!”
Wyll led the way, leaning into Karlach to comment, “Aren’t they sweet?” To which she snickered back.
Astarion actually managed to carry Vistri the whole way. She might have cast herself with Feather, making his feat a little less impressive, but neither of them cared. Astarion was determined to brag about it and change everyone’s mind regarding his strength, and Vistri was smiling the whole way over. She bounced awkwardly, but she liked the warmth of his back, and the feel of his hands on the back of her thighs. She also managed not to fart.
There was a sense of regret when he let her down, as if they’d lost something. They just stood there after, looking at each other as if they had no idea what to do now that they were apart.
“Well, thank you,” she said.
“For saving your life, or carrying you?”
“Oh, there’s a list?” she chuckled.
His smirk was equal parts mischievous and self-satisfied, “You’ve been incurring a lot of debts, my dear.”
Vistri pretended to be startled, “Have I? Oh my! How should I endeavor pay them?”
He lifted a playful finger to his chin, “Hmmm, what a dilemma!”
His mood was so drastically shifted from before, during the fight. Looking at him now, you’d never think that face held any worry. In little flashes, he was brand new. No more heaviness. Vistri may have grown up with a sorcerer’s might, but she never felt more magical.
“How about I think on it a while? The two of us are exhausted! Best not to make any rash decisions.”
She giggled, even though her bones felt hollow, and her muscles were near useless, “Take your time to think, but make it go—”
Her stomach growled loudly.
“Oh, dear,” Astarion said, “We should fix that, shouldn’t we?”
He was being uncharacteristically servient and sweet, telling her to sit by the fire as he fetched her a bowl of something hot. He even brought a blanket over to throw over their legs and sat there with her as she ate.
Vistri looked at him, startled, when he sat down and settled the blanket over them.
“What?” he asked.
She shook her head to clear it, “Nothing.” Then started eating.
It was a very plain stew with fish and beans, but it was everything on a night like this. Or was it even night? There was no sense of time in the Shadow Curse lands.
Astarion dipped her finger in his bowl and licked it.
“Hey!”
“Just wanted a taste.”

As Sweet As Honey
A/N: A little something that has been lingering on my mind for ages and dusted up in my drafts for way too long. Oh and the header isn't mine!
Content: A short story for fem!reader who needs some wholesomeness with a hint of spice right now - something in between chai latte and mint chocolate to get the senses going
The song that inspired me to write this
Tumblr media
Winter's night - often one's reason to overthink for hours and drowning in rhapsodies.
Law's fingers fidget around the coffee mug's handle, subsequently setting the cup aside - feeling strained and depraved, in need of something refreshing. Anything really.
He doesn't mind a bit of company for a change, instead of lingering in his office, glued to the books and papers piling up in towers on his desk.
Each step taken grows heavier, the cold chilling the surgeon to managable extent, yet enough to make him zip up his blue feather coat.
Feathers, that tickle his chin whenever he goes, each step taken reminding him of a man he wished was still among you.
Across the submarine's deck, his black shoes clack upon the wooden impact below. On his way to the local inn, where his crew decided to linger for tonight, the Captain's mind spins around you - when was the last time he saw you?
Felt like ages ago when he heard your delightful voice, hence his uncharacteristic longing of finding you.
The inn is less crowded than expected, only Shachi, Penguin and Bepo remain. Perhaps a few strangers here and there, but all in all the calm is more appeasing to Law's preference.
"Where are the others? Have you seen (Y/n)-ya?"
He asks Bepo, seemingly the last person approachable, for he didn't drink any mind fogging bevarages. What about Shachi and Penguin? Well, alcohol got the better of them, for they knocked their heads against the bar counter, snoring off in the distance. Thus the bear speaks:
"The others have moved on to the next tavern across the street. And (Y/n) should be around here somewhere. Oh, check out the common room in the back, Captain!"
The mink's ears wiggle and twitch in thoughtfulness, considering on wether to join the search for you, or not, however Law insists on going on his own.
What a strange place to be, the inn's taste in furniture bringing up more and more questions. The so called common room resembles a library, tall shelves filled with books and scrolls, for anyone to read and indulge in. It looks inviting, drawing the aloof man in like a moth to the flame.
"Captain! What are you doing here?"
Your voice reaches the surgeon's ears, eliciting a shiver down his spine. Seeing you seated on a couch in the corner, all cozy and wrapped up in a blanket, he accompanies you and lets himself fall into the plush cushions.
"Needed a break from work, so I thought I'd check in on you guys."
"Guys? But you're here with me."
"I trust Bepo's word. He told me the others roam the night life and get their heads ready to hang over tomorrow. They should be alright. Probably."
Listening to your Captain's adorable excuse, you take a sip from your cup. Steel eyes flicker to your lips, fixated on the cherry coloured skin earning more sarutation by the hot liquid flowing over it.
Desire begins to roil inside him and he clears his throat:
"Coffee?"
"No, warm milk and honey. Would you like to have some?"
"It's not exactly the healthiest bevarage to drink on late hours . ."
"Come on, only one sip. I swear I'm not contagious. Besides, it's better than alcohol."
As if you read his mind, he gives in to your cute pout and puffed up cheeks, frowning at him in a rather ridiculous way. It's almost able to earn a low chuckle out of Law.
So he does as offered and lets the warm liquid entice his senses, which it does to your surprise, noticing a spark of relish in those dark circled eyes.
"Good?"
"Unexpectedly."
"Let me get you a seperate mug then."
Before you're heaving yourself off the couch, inked hands hold you in place by grabbing onto your wrist. No words are needed for you to understand, that he wants you to stay, not in need of another cup.
Another set of hours pass by far too quick for both of your tastes and the warm milk in the jug gets emptier by the minute. Not to mention the honey jar, the golden delight basically vanishes into thin air.
It is the cozy and fuzzy spreading in your head, feeling as if influenced under the tangy effects of alcohol, in a more serene matter nonetheless.
With a book in hands, you turn the pages, your digit following the black imprinted letters. Law leans in, curious about the literature you are soaking in, his warmth engulfing you almost completely.
Until now, you haven't noticed that the Captain inched nearer. Legs touching and rubbing up against eachother. The closeness is electrifying - or is it your imagination? He already has taken on the scent of honey, opting you to inhale deeply, leaving you tongue tied.
"What kind of honey is this anyway?"
"I was told it is lavender, made from the inn keeper's own bee keeping."
Reaching out for the jar, his adorned fingers sling around the spoon and he leads it to his mouth. Delighted, he hums and praises the sweetness and flavor.
"May I try as well?"
Without a comment he takes another scoop and again licks off the sticky goodness. You aren't certain, yet it dawns on you that, according to this gesture, he is about to do something unexpected.
His face approaches yours, though in hesitance, lips slightly parted like a bow, ready to shoot it's shot. Law lets his digits graze along your cheeks, down your jaw and finally your neck. For his hand now rests on your nape, he gently pulls you in.
Tilting his head to grant further access, the kiss forms into a deep and longing affection. A surprised squeak escapes you as the sensation of honey enriches your mouth, combined with the cautious ask for entry of Law's tongue.
You hook your arms around his neck and recognise his body trembling and shivering by your touch. To confirm your theory about his nervosity, you press your chest against him, the faint of his racing heart beat noticable.
Syncronizing to his pace, your heart nearly pounds out of your throat and Law bites your lower lip in response to your interim mewlings. Tongues glide along another, savouring the sweet of honey, the appealing sounds enhanced by the stickiness.
Besides honey, you identify the smell of desinfectant and amber musk, oddly enough. All your senses go in overdrive, arroused by his hands on your curves, digging into your plush.
As he pulls away, you whimper in abandonment and he purrs:
"What do you think?"
"A-About what?"
"The honey . ."
Twirling his raven strands, you withold a dreamy sigh and flutter your doe eyes at him. Law lets out a shaky breath in your stead, comprehending your inuendo and brings his lips to yours again, this time with more force.
The kiss turns fervent fairly quick, as he drags you onto his lap, feeling down your back and squeezing your behind seductively.
"You're unbelievable."
"What makes you think so? Pray tell."
In between desperate gasps for air, the both of you nibble on eachother's sensitive skin and he whispers, stuttering almost:
"You beguile me with the simplest of things. Do you know how adorable you look while reading? Or how god damn appealing you are when smiling?"
"Oh am I now?"
His hands embrace your waist and the highly agitated man, in more than one way, pulls you even closer:
"You are as sweet as honey and it drives me insane . . you vixen."
"Quit your complaints Captain and give me another taste."
The tasting lasted longer than anticipated . .

A Good Golly Holiday Time
AN: Extremely loosely based on the squealing santa warmup prompt featherflake & basically just my excuse to write for The Solve It Squad/How the Grunch Cribbed Christmas. Ever since I first laid eyes on Scrags I knew he had to get wrecked. Hope you enjoy, merry Christmas & happy holidays to everyone! Really gonna try to pump out one more holiday fic but we’ll see about that won’t we?
Scrags... really wasn't having a good time. He normally tried to avoid the holidays because it only served to remind him of the family that didn't want him, and that fucking Maddie girl in his dad's reserved seat was just rubbing salt in the wound. He tried to keep his glaring to a minimum.
It seems his efforts failed because his friends very easily picked up on his sour mood, and it was obvious that they were walking on eggshells around him. They were in the craft portion of the planned activities, and it felt like his friends were coddling him rather than actually checking in. It was insulting damn it, he was a grown ass man! He didn't need their condescending praise about his crappy snowflake or the pitying looks they cast his way when they thought he wouldn't notice. Well news flash: he notices everything; he's a fucking FBI agent for crying out loud!
He heaved a heavy sigh as he glued a handful of feathers onto his snowflake. Keith walked behind him and off to the side, looking over Ester's shoulder at the iPad in their hands.
"So, what's the chat saying about me?" he asked, sweeping a hand through his hair. Ester rolled their eyes as they continued to scroll through the comments.
"Not much, they're all talking about what a sad sack of coal Scrags is being," they muttered, causing Kieth to furrow his brows.
"What? No way, Scrags is always high strung and snappy, they just don't know him like we do," he tried to justify. He glanced up at Scrags, his playful smirk falling when he saw the way their friend's shoulders sagged. He slapped a handful of feathers onto his snowflake in a messy, haphazard thud onto the table. "Okay yeah, he is being a classic Grunch, but it's not like we can cheer him up." Keith caught sight of a nearby camera and flashed a smile and wink.
Ester rolled their eyes. Keith stepped in front of her to be in the camera's full view and addressed the audience.
"Hey all you beautiful people at home! Our friend Scrags is having a little trouble getting in the holiday spirit, so we're taking suggestions on how to cheer him up!"
"Really Keith? C'mon, we got more important things to do! I need all you fuck nuggets at home to donate in my name, got that?!" Esther yelled, addressing the camera as they shoved Kieth out of the way. "Think of the children, first and foremost, but make sure I fucking win when you do!" they insisted, drawing the attention of Gwen and Scrags with the shrill pitch of their voice.
"Esther, try and keep it down, it's arts and crafts time and I do expect you to use your indoor voice," Gwen said in her classic cheerful tone with a dash of condescension and and a pinch of superiority. Thankfully, neither Esther nor Keith paid her any mind as they searched the comments for ideas.
"Wow you guys really have no sense of humor," Esther muttered as they scrolled past a few particularly bad holiday themed jokes. Keith grabbed their wrist and pointed at the screen.
"Hold up, go back I think I saw something," he said, not waiting for them to comply and snatched the iPad.
"Hey, give that back!"
"In a sec!" he said, scrolling until he found the comment once more. He froze and looked at Esther with an excited, sinister grin. "I think mrsclausgiantjuggs just gave us the solution to our problem."
"Ew, Kieth-"
"No, it's a username! Here look!"
"No I don't wanna-" they stopped mid sentence as they read the comment. A devilish glint flashed in their eyes. "Is Scrags ticklish? You guys should totally tickle him, I bet THAT will cheer him up!" They looked up from the screen and locked eyes with Keith. An evil chuckle slipped out as they slowly crept over to their gloomy friend.
"Gwen, your snowflake is looking picture perfect, just like you," Keith flirted, ever the suck up simp.
She flushed and giggled, "Oh stop!"
"Scrags, buddy! Yours is... coming along," he said, staring at the mess of paper, glitter glue and feathers.
"Gee, thanks. Gwen made me do this so she wouldn't be crafting all by herself," he teased lightly. "But y'know, I think it'd look better if you did it, Esther. Or even you, Keith."
"The hell do you mean "even me?" he asked incredulously. Esther smacked him from behind, reminding him they had a goal to accomplish.
“Scrags, I gotta be honest with you. You’re acting like a Grade A Grunch, and the chat’s picking up on your vibe. Now if you don’t change that, we’re gonna have to take drastic measures,” he warned/threatened. Scrags merely rolled his eyes.
“Sorry that I’m no happy enough to conform to your cheerful holiday standards,” he quipped, crossing his arms over his chest defiantly.
“Well that’s where we come in,” Keith said, sidling up next to him. Scrags looked him up and down skeptically.
“I’m not really in the mood for jokes…”
“Oh but this isn’t a joke!” Esther assured from his other side, making him jump. “If you ask me, this is a sure fire way to get your cheer meter filled all the way to the tippy top!”
Scrags scoffed, returning to his half-assed snowflake. He jerked away with a squeal when he felt something soft and fluffy flutter over his ear. He looked over to see Keith twirling a feather between his fingers, sporting a wicked grin. Scrags held his arms out in front of him as a weak defense.
“Dude, no, we’re live,” he practically pleaded.
“Uh, I know. This was a fan suggestion!” he chirped. Scrags choked on his own spit, sputtering and stumbling to his feet.
“Ex-excuse me? No, I don’t believe you!”
“Oh but it’s true,” Esther spoke up from behind him, making his blood run cold.
He stared at her, completely frozen for a solid few seconds before his brain caught up with himself. “What?” he reacted with his entire body, tossing his head around to look at her, placing his hands on his hips in his iconic sassy dad pose. “Who would want to see that?” he demanded.
“I think a better question is who wouldn’t want to see that,” Gwen joined in on the teasing, walking up behind Scrags and squeezed both his hips, making his twist out of her grip with a choked off giggle. “Great idea Keith!”
“Technically all the credit goes to mrsclausgiantjuggs, but I am the one spearheading this mission,” he bragged on himself, but still gave credit where credit was due. Okay, so maybe he wanted to say that username one more time.
“No, okay, I am shutting this down, it is not happenIIING!” his stern scolding morphed into a shrill squeal when Ester grew tired of waiting and dug their fingers in his armpits. He whipped around just in time to see their sinister grin as they wiggled their fingers in the air, getting ever closer. He desperately tried to fight off the smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Not once up to this point in the livestream had he been so aware of the multiple cameras trained on them. He continued backing away from the threatening fingers… Right into Keith’s outstretched arms.
Strong arms, that immediately trapped him in a very tickly bear hug. “GOTCHA!” he yelled as he pinched and kneaded his sides and ribs, launching him into a full fledged giggle fit. He squirmed around like a fish on a hook, swatting and shoving at his probing hands.
“Aww, I can’t remember the last time you looked so happy, Scrags!” Gwen cooed, placing a hand over her melting heart. She wasn’t even meaning to tease, it was a genuine observation.
“Ihihihit’s fohohorced! Gwen d-don’t just stahahand there, hehehelp me damnit!” he snapped through his laughter. Before she could answer, Esther interjected.
“Uh oh, someone clearly isn’t feeling the holiday spirit!” He shook his head, eyes wide with panic as they lunged for him. Their fingers prodded his soft belly, causing him to double over in Keith’s grip.
“Oh I’ll help you alright! Trust me, when we’re through with you, you’ll feel like a million bucks! Just like when we were kids, right Mr. Giggles?” she asked and okay this time she definitely meant to tease. It had the desired effect and had him turning a rather adorable shade of pink.
“D-dohohon’t call me thahahat!” he cried indignantly, twisting around in his friend’s hold to hide his face from the camera, and hopefully protect at least a few of his tickle spots.
He realized his mistake when Keith took a deep breath and planted a loud, sloppy raspberry on his neck.
“OHOHOHO FUCK KEITH THAHAHAT’S SO GROSS, GEHEHET OHOHOFF!” Scrags’s hysterical laughter nearly blew out his mic before it tapered off into a less earsplitting volume as Keith pulled away, wiping a hand on his mouth.
“Sorry, could’ve sworn you said you liked raspberries,” he said with a shit eating grin. Scrags rolled his eyes, still grinning from ear to ear.
“Yeah, the fruit you dickwahahad!” his insult lost its edge when Esther drilled their thumbs in his hips, sending him back into helpless laughter.
“Hey, this is a charity livestream for children, watch your motherfucking mouth!” Esther yelled over him. Gwen gasped at the outburst.
“Well that’s the pot calling the kettle black!”
Esther smirked, cocking their head to the side. “Sorry Gwen, pretty sure you’re not allowed to say that anymore,” they said, shaking their head with a tsk. Gwen scoffed.
“Oh you are so asking for it!” And with that, she set her sights on a new target.
Needless to say, the chat was going wild, and they were gaining view by the second. It was a rare glimpse of the fun, bright eyed detective group they remembered growing up, and that was the greatest non denominational holiday gift anyone could ask for.
