i never really liked home alone too much. but the soundtrack unlocks something

#somewhere in my memory specifically #both the choir and the instrumental version #and john williams carol of the bells #and mom returns/finale #i love the soundtracks to films #i love learning about the composers and the overall arrangement #i can differentiate a lot of composers now. it’s like an artists brushstroke or a signature #once your ear picks it up you can literally hear the style #there’s a reason why harry potter 1 4’s soundtrack reminds me of home alone 1 2 #same composer — john williams #and there’s a reason why 5 7 were darker sounding soundtracks. different composers #people don’t realize how ridiculously important the music is to creating the music itself #like i’ve had countless people tell me the harry potter soundtrack (specifically the 1st movie) reminds them of christmas lmao #it was the marketing of the movie reruns on abc family #and the way the movie was filmed and scored. he captured the magic and the castle/snow scenes helped move the music along

I love the Wreck-It Ralph soundtrack so much... On the surface you'd think its just an average orchestral animated movie soundtrack. But each main character has their own leitmotif and it SEAMLESSLY combines Chiptune with J-rock (with sugar rush) and Orchestral Arrangements like WHAT THE HELL????? HOW DID YOU GET AWAY WITH THAT!!!

(Also the dubstep in Hero's Duty LOL because that was big in 2012)

in regards to the recent news of movie musical Regina being the only fucking one singing in Meet The Plastics, I'm glad that all of musical stan twitter is united in mourning 'if regina is the sun, then I'm a crystal ball cause I'm just as bright as fun - if you'd had alcohol!" and "MY NAME IS KAAAREN MY HAIR IS SHIIINY"

I just got back from watching Trolls Band Together and can I just say that I absolutely loved every minute of it. I've been a fan of the first two films for a while so naturally I had to see this one, but GUYS, THE G/T IN THIS FILM IS REALLY GOOD. Like there's quite a lot obviously (there's a lot of g/t in the first trolls film, not so much in the second one, but def in the first film), and the songs slap really hard too. I also loved the villains in it. OH AND THERE IS A SIZE DIFFERENCE COUPLE!! Spruce/Bruce, Branch's brother, has a wife who is essentially giant sized compared to him. And they even have kids!!! It was seriously unexpected and they even addressed it in the film, asking "how does it work?" To which the wife replies "we make it work". I was actually speechless.

I often think about how perfect The Spongebob Squarepants Movie's soundtrack is. Both the original songs made by various bands for the movie and the licensed tracks they got for it. Literally not a single skip on that thing. It's a vibe we'll never get from any movie ever again and that pains me on an emotional level.

#Ocean Man has a perfect end of movie vibe #Goofy Goober rock is the superior version of I wanna rock #The sea pirates renditions of the theme song is instant serotonin #Just a kid by Wilco works as both a song encapsulating the movies themes about growing up while keeping your inner child #and as a general good inspirational song #Spongebob and Patrick confront the psychic wall of energy is so playfully ridiculous and a jam #Best Day ever is so good it's gone on to be used in a lot of spongebob stuff since #They'll soon discover is criminally underrated and it makes me sad they didn't actually put it in the movie #Also whitesnake's here I go again and Motorhead's you better swim are on the soundtrack #they are both in the film for like 10 whole seconds and you probably didn't notice #Also avril lavigne made a cover of the spongebob theme for the soundtrack release of the film god I love the 2000s #spongebob #spongebob squarepants #spongebob squarepants movie #2004
