RE2 being all sweet and cuddly. Honestly, I feel like he might fall asleep to Disney movies. Just like some of the Leons to me. Always so strict on a nightly routine, too. Wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair etc. Then fallling asleep with a Disney movie on in the background? Heavenly. Perfection. The fact he might wear goofy ass pajamas too? He just SCREAMS trying to live his childhood while he still can young.
RE4 just washes his face and cleans his eyelashes. He feels more practical, yet still tries to take care of himself. Makes sure to take medication, but prefers if you tell him. It makes him feel special. I mean, Leon IS special. He likes comfort and trusting people. Sometimes waking up crying and burrowing into the bed beside you. RC and Spain wasn't fun at all! Your chest, neck, stomach, he loves it ALL. Adores a stomach cuddle, even if you got no stomach! Thighs, too, taking a nap while you watch a show.
ID Leon low-key feels like the small drop-off era. Still washing his face and eyelashes. Medication, if needed, still. You can notice slight changes, and him kinda hating the government in small ways now. The submarine, Jason and Shen Mei, and then getting judged for being pretty. Our pretty little blond, blue-eyed boy! Feel like he might be sick of it. Might be a little peeved at general compliments, but still tries to keep them in good faith. Grows his hair out, and gets a little messy. Just like in the comic, he looks like a soggy wet cat, y'all! Keeps his stubble pretty trimmed too.
Damnation Leon feels like the MAJOR drop. ID was the calm before the storm. Drinking problems start, and man starts getting less sleep. Probably five to four hours MAX. Still loves to cuddle like all the other Leons. You can kind of sense something is off. Washes his face, and that's it. Goes to sleep in his boxers, and kicks you in your sleep. C'mon, old man, stop kicking me in the ass! So rude! (I still love you, you little fucker.) Possible cartoon lover, I feel like once he gets older, he just kinda tries to relax. Man is tired constantly, and the alcohol makes it WORSE. Stubble is more grown out in my head.
RE6 Leon… Honestly 2nd fav. I'm an old man fucker, sorry y'all. Feel like the drinking is kinda toned down compared to Damnation, but spiked really fuckin' high in Vendetta. Silly cartoon watcher, I stand by that shit. I like making Leon be a stupid crusty, soggy cat. Probably really likes the cartoons from the 90s. His 'childhood' moment. Nicer than Damnation, but just more seasoned compared to RE4R and ID. Dad jokes and one-liners coming out at least three times a day. Sleeps about 6–7 hours on normal-ish nights. Tries to at least get 7. Please get on him about his meds or getting his eyes checked. He's crusty, and he needs a back brace possibly, too. Needs you to massage his back after a mission and just be there. Disney movie night with him when? He'll debate about the best Disney movie. His fav movie is up to you.
Vendetta… Oh, fuck. Man dropped off the wagon in multiple ways. He doesn't wash his face, and he probably does have a few tooth problems. Got a tooth gap for getting his ass beat, and is kinda self-conscious about it. Stubble is unshaven, and hair needs to be cut. He doesn't give a crap anymore, but the nightmares he has certainly give a crap about him. Making him think about quitting, if he could. We all know the poor man is gonna be strangled to death because of the government. Eye bags, pains in his body, and waking up with a horrible hangover. He doesn't really have a nightly routine, except pass out from drinking OR try to fall asleep normally. With a lover, I feel like he still wouldn't care. Movie buff AND nerd for mechanical shit. Rants about it, listen if he does it. It makes him fall in love with you slightly faster if you want to go that route. Also, TUMMMMMYYYY!!
DI LEONNNN! MY FAV! My little old ass kitten! Moves back to an ID state in a way. Instead, kinda hates the government still for his circumstances. Back to the cartoon AND falling asleep to Disney movies. Tries to remember his stuff more often now. He's still a little iffy, but he's got the spirit! Honestly, he might get LASIK. More of just wearing sweatpants and boxers kind of guy to bed. Got a little patch of chest hair too. Cuddly tummy and thighs. Likes hugging you from behind AND getting hugged from behind. incel!izuku who, at first, isn't interested. you're another female pro hero, so what? he's rather partial to it; you're only really getting attention because you're a female. once everyone sees past the pretty face and nice thighs, you'll be irrelevant.
incel!izuku who falls in love after seeing one leaked picture of you pre-pro hero era, where you're makeup-less with messy hair and in pajamas. having been uploaded to one of the deep web forums he frequents, he expected an overwhelming amount of hate but, instead, everyone thinks you're even more attractive. izuku stares at the picture long and hard—actually, maybe he's beginning to see what they mean. he bookmarks it and revisits it often.

as if reading his thoughts, your management team announces that you'll be having a fan meet-up. izuku is so ecstatic that he's among the first people to pre-order tickets the second they're released. he dreams about shaking your hand or even giving you a hug, and how your soft your body will feel against his. he can't wait to touch you and just be near you; he's not sure he'll be able to control himself.
when the meet-up day rolls around, izuku queues up in the line and waits his turn to meet you. he's almost trembling by the time he reaches the table where you're sitting, smiling so adorably at the little kid that's rambling to you excitedly. the sight is precious—he wants that to be his kid one day.
a few minutes later, it's his turn. izuku walks up to the table, stiff as a board, and crouches down so he's eye-level with you. he's blushing intensely and your eye contact with him is making him feel so hot. you smile at him, and he begins to feel a touch light-headed.
"hi! thanks for coming," you reach out for a handshake. "so sorry the line's so long, we didn't expect so many people to come out!"
izuku can hardly speak. unsure of what to say, he simply nods and shakily reaches out to grab your hand, the anticipation almost sending him over the edge. and when your hands do finally intertwine, he immediately and unexpectedly gets a boner. a euphoric feeling runs through his body like lightning, striking his heart as if an arrow. seeing you in person is so much better than the pictures.
as you go to pull away, you can't. his grip is so tight that you literally have to wrench your hand away. he's staring at you with such a concentrated focus that you're not sure he's blinked even once since he came up to you. you're a bit weirded out now, so you try to end the meeting quickly.

"i-zu-ku... mi-do-ri-ya..." you repeat his name slowly as you sign both his name and your signature at the bottom of the poster.
each person gets five minutes with you. izuku doesn't say much. it's completely awkward for you when your questions go unanswered and you're instead being stared through with those jade green eyes of his. when five minutes is up, you wave goodbye and blow a complimentary kiss, as it's apart of your trademark. you literally couldn't wait for it to be over.
izuku doesn't take his eyes off of you until he's escorted out of the room by the staff. his heart is beating out of his chest right now; did that even really happen? did he actually touch you? it sinks in slowly but surely. he did! he touched you! your hand was so soft and fit so perfectly in his. like it was meant to be. and the way you looked at him? he resists the urge to palm himself through his jeans.
you're such a sweetheart, too. not like other low IQ women who just ignore him when he's trying to be nice to them; come on, you even asked for his name! you really are different from the rest. not to mention how good you smelled, it's a sure sign you know how to take care of yourself. he'll have to find out what perfume you use so he can spray it on his body pillows.
he just can't wait to go home and brag about it all on his online forums and the fan sites he's recently joined!

I was going to reblog with a comment but that post is already super long. But so true ! Like the ninja assassin thing with Dick is a modern retcon something that would be a Tim Cass or Damian thing to do. But writing a flashback for an adult Dick in the 2000s would be weird. By the 1960s he was firmly in canon 18 and in college. How are you gonna go back to the era of goofy and be like this is Dick’s angsty teenage years involved getting turned into a vampire and fighting Bruce over dating Talia. It just doesn’t make sense with how Long comics keep going. 80 years of comics and he’s only what 28. Like it’s very hard to keep a consistent character when everyone wants to make Dick Jason and Bruce new characters every few decades

My personal view about how they kept retconning Dick's personality as a child and his relationship with Bruce is that it's a mix of complex things and bullshit.
The complex things is yeah, Dick and Bruce had their share of problems when Dick was growing up. They did start bumping heads a lot, but it was more like "this kid is turning into a man and is starting to clash views with his father (who is already someone who's not easy to deal with)" and "that's the part where he starts to develop who he is as person" (I won't get much into that because I haven't read many comics regarding Dick transition from Robin from Batman & Robin to Robin from Titans until Nightwing in the pre-death of the family era.) than the borderline abusive and toxic relationship they started to introducing in the late 90's to early 2000's portrayals of them.
It's complex because after rebooting everything it's hard to introduce such a long and gradual process that took almost ten years of development that is Dick's emancipation not only from working with Bruce but also following his every step as boy wonder. Specially if we think about the huge fall out they had right after Jason died.
It's bullshit because they started with those retcons when we had that long and embarrassing period of Super-hero history (late 90's to early 2000's) where everyone was trying to make super-heroes popular again but following alongside with a palpable embarrassment and self-conscious shame regarding any silliness and/or whimsical side the superhero universe. Like "we're making superheroes stories but this is for adults, this ain't for children 😡😡". Nobody wanted to be the "60's Batman TV show everyone makes fun of" and everybody wanted to be Alan Moore.
We had all this writers who grow up reading "Death of the family", "The Killing Joke", "Batman Year one" add were dying to recreate the 80's dark period glory, even if they didn't had the same writing skills for that.
I mean hate the Killing Joke all you want (I know I do), it has a shit tone of good writing.
It's bullshit because everyone was still sore about how Batman turned into a joke in the 90's after that one movie and for some reason everyone blamed Robin. It's bullshit because comic books are always influenced by the popular media around them, and while 40's Batman had the American Way and American Family Values™ 🦅🦅🦅, 80's Batman has Scarface, Taxi Driver and long urban tragedies.... 90's have Die Hard and every extra power macho fantasy under the sun.
I mean... This was 90's Nightwing.

So you reach early 2000, everyone kinda hates or is kinda embarrassed of Robin, Batman is a former shadow of the man and the father he used to be. But you still wanna introduce new readers to your character (Dick Grayson) that (for better or for worst) is loved but only by the people who already know him, you're still embarrassed of his silly origins and the whimsical part of it.
So what do you do?
Personally I think writers thought Dick had it too easy as Robin, personally I think they were obsessed about making it real, personally I think everyone was obssessed and trilled with the idea of being the next Tim Miller and making their one fresh real edge introduction of the boy wonder. Personally I think this is all the new 52 was absolutely on for the Batfamily.
Personally I believe (and this is more a optimistic take) some writers were creatively trying to tie Dick's anger issues as Nightwing to his origins as Robin.
You have this chance of one in million (at te time) to reintroduce Nightwing (reintroduce Robin), now you can make it as real as gritty and as edge as you want. You can make it Robin cool again, you can introduce in a way that will sell well the dark story you where preparing for this character. And you also can deny any father and son relationship he could had have with Bruce Wayne and keep the big beef strong man without feelings reputation that people have been manufacturing by choice into Batman from ten years by now.
And what is more dark and character building than an abusive father?
I think writers thought that making Bruce abusive towards Dick and Dick resentful towards Bruce was the best way to launch this new universe as realistic and grittier. Not only making Dick's Robin introduction (and origin) more "real" but also separating Bruce even more from a emotional and father like figure that for some reason some writers (and fans!) despised to much.
Killing so many birds with one stone might as well call yourself David from the Bible.
And they were so certain this direction would be a success that the just notice their mistake now.
Anyways... A load of bullshit.
I personally don't mind Dick's Robin having anger issues, I think it's a natural progression from his first real serious introduction from back in the 80's, I also think it adds more to his character tying up his first trauma along with a long life of others and the result of having to deal with a frustrating job (that is vigilantism is) since literally ever. I like the idea that the perfect Robin wasn't perfect all the time and he also had (and has) other side of his personality that isn't as nice or likeable as it should and that's a thing he consciously have to work on as a person since he was a child.
However I also think writers did took to far sometimes and Dick history and specially his relationship with Bruce suffered from it. And I also agree that if everyone tries to reboot, retcon and fucking "subvert" a character every fucking ten years you won't even have a fucking consistent character to begin with (gestures vaguely to Jason Todd, Deadpool and now poor fuckin Damian and their wreck of comic book history).

And onto Rush Adventure now:
-Tbh at first i wasnt sold on the materials grinding for ships but later liked how it gives you a reason to improve your scores on the levels so you can get more. Idk i usually dont care abt scores but w the external motivation? Yea
-Same w the misions, good way to have lil extra stuff to do (that said why did they block the sound mode songs behind misions. Game pls my internet makes opening youtube an odyssey and now this too? Cruelty 😔)
-Oh and also the ship minigames! Its fun to have a map you can explore, and the races w Jhonny for the chaos emeralds are way better than the Surely Existing special levels (also srry if i got his name wrong lmao)
-Onto the soundtrack; its more broad compared to rush, and each song does matches well the enviroment. I like the tropical coastal vibes of the main town n training level, and oh man. Sky babylon and deep core my beloveds who literally got engraved in my neurons so hard i was struggling reading hours later bc the darn tunes kept playing in the background of my skull. Well scratch that all the tunes keep playing on the bg of my skull rn, what kind of eldritch curse is this). So yes good ost 👍
-Overall the aesthetic n vibes are also more broad with that tropical relax overtone, its quite nice. The difficulty is also way more forgiving (i mean i played on easy but that's the mode the game came in) and the tutorials with the controls are helpful (yes i struggled with the jump dash in the previous game how can you tell)
- The story is also more calm and silly goofy but in a good way (can def see what ppl mean by the diff eras in sonic writing there). I also liked Whisker being the main but kinda dumb villain for funnies vs the eggmans being a bigger threat)
-I liked the scene in the coral cave where Blaze appears bc my mind was half "haha i knew we were in Blaze's world, neat" and " weeee hi Blaze, game of the year :D"
-Marine was also neat, liked her silly dynamic of cheerful kid who is a bit too full of herself and is kind of a brat abt it, and how she later learns to admit her own limits :) And the koala villagers were neat too i like their designs :)
Overall thank you for letting me ramble into your ask box abt these games, its been fun :D
lmao yeah it's a nice incentive! I think the only other game that gives you a reward with higher ranks is Unwiished (another Dimps game), where the higher the rank the more medals you get.

The missions are a good way to extend the gameplay, but IIRC some of the Sol Emerald missions were brutal... I have flashes of the Blizzard Peak mission.
The waterbike was genuinely really fun and I hated that it was considered the "worst" vehicle for travel :( I don't like the submarine, let me travel the world on my tiny waterbike while the best music plays :( also yeah the Special Stages with Johnny are original! Certainly more than Half Pipe 50.0
SRA'S OST was composed by veterans Tomoya Ohtani and Mariko Nanba while trying to recreate Naganuma's style. Definitely unique and underrated. Sky Babylon used to be my favorite too! But there are so many tracks that IMO deserve more love, like Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks, the boss theme and Whiskers & Johnny <3
Funny to think SRA came out one year after '06, widely criticized at the time for being too melodramatic :P Whiskers is also a nice case of Eggman being the twist villain for once! Although the credits of the "bad" ending spoil him and Nega, lol. Not that Whiskers looks mysterious himself... eh you get it.
Marine seems to have been reevaluated recently, like many things from the 2000s. I remember that back then no one could stand her and her Aussie accent lmao, precisely because she was an annoying brat. She is still mildly underrated, but I think the modern fandom generally "forgave" her because they understood that she was meant to be a foil for Tails, who is more insecure.
(two fun facts: in some countries, SRA initially got a 12+ rating because Marine says "bugger", which is pretty mild for Aussie slang but is much stronger for American standards. Also, Marine is Australian because in original she speaks in Kansai-ben, and I guess that was a way to recreate the cultural connotations! That and koalas :P)

TIME TO SPEW OPINIONS (Companion Edition):
Rose was a great companion who worked really well with 9 and 10. Her personality really helped exaggerate the Doctor's sass and later his emo-ness as 10. She was super brave and very willing to act on her beliefs. (even standing up to the Doctor)
Martha was unfortunately overshadowed in the Doctor's mind by the loss of Rose (L) but she is a GREAT character who had strong opinions and wasn't afraid to tell the Doctor he was wrong or fucked up.
Donna was a great partner to the Doctor with their bickering back and forth. She would readily challenge him but would also play off of him with her own specializations (The calendar in The Doctor's Daughter, The planets in the stolen planet bits)
I have my own issues with Moffat's writing so I'll leave out things that I believe to be "Moffat Issues" and not individual character issues.
Amy was an interesting character who seemed to understand the Doctor more than some of the other companions. This, combined with the new lease on life that was the 11th Doctor really let Amy be both serious and goofy playing off of the silliness of the Doctor.
Rory felt like kind of a side note until he died the first time. When he came back he was a main character kind of guy. His main priority was always Amy, even when there was other things going on, and I REALLY like him.
River isn't really a companion, she's more of a side character. River feels like she was kind of shoehorned in to some of the Doctor's lore in earlier seasons, but by the time she arrived in the Capaldi era for the Christmas special it felt like she was actually someone that the Doctor would like. Before then it almost felt like she was just there for drama. Her appearance in Silence in the Library was interesting and made her character someone to be excited for, but her appearance in The Impossible Astronaut felt kinda of dramatic for me. (not that drama is a bad thing, just my preference) I'm not really a fan.
Clara... I've written essays on why I don't like Clara's character. I think she's well written, especially when we get into series 8 territory, but I also very much HATE her as a person. Her struggle with 11's regeneration is understandable, but the way she treats 12 hurts me a little bit. The 12th Doctor definitely doesn't help Clara's ego when he makes her choose things for the entire planet Earth (Kill the Moon) but by the time Dark Water rolls around her ego is so big it could have BEEN the moon. Spoilers BTW: Oops her boyfriend dies. She's like "OH, I have a time travelling friend I love and care about, he has nothing to do with anything related to this horrible thing that just happened to me so let's threaten to strand him on this planet forever if he doesn't help me undo an event that I already witnessed" What in her mind tells her to do this. I get it, you're mentally ill and grieving. I hate her. Not only did she think of the idea of stranding him on Earth to be fine, but she also TRIED. She tried to drug him and strand him. The idea that he was ok with that kind of put me off a bit. Him forgiving her aside, she also told him that anything Missy did ever was his fault, which is INSANE. I know Missy did some terrible shit to her boyfriend but Clara using this to guilt the Doctor into MURDERING Missy is insane. If she had a spine, she would have done it herself before he got in between them. Anyway I'm glad she died of her hubris. (I could go on)
Bill Potts is my scrungly and she was SO perfect for the 12th Doctor. Their conflict in Thin Ice really nailed down how different the Doctor is from their human companions and emphasized that he's not morally perfect all the time. His hands aren't clean and she knows that, but she also knows that he has good hearts and wants the best for humanity. They have a very grandpa/granddaughter kind of thing going on, which I think works super well with the grumpy 12th Doctor. They're fun, they get along, and in the end it's the Doctor's confidence in his own ability that gets her killed (at first). Bill did nothing wrong ever.
Graham and Ryan are generally ok. I'm putting them in one section because I don't really feel much about either of them. They each have like 3 character traits and nothing else. I feel ways about Chibnall's writing, but I feel like the crowded TARDIS was a bad idea and if it was going to be crowded I might have preferred that Grace be there. I don't dislike Ryan or Graham but a lot of the things they do (particularly Ryan) seem to be for the plot and have nothing to do with their personalities. In the first two episodes Ryan shows some impulse control issues, (touching a shiny alien thing in the woods, and running out to shoot robots with a gun). Graham shows some anger management issues when it comes to emotional things a couple times(The Woman Who Fell to Earth, The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos)
Dan was a great short-term companion. He had what... 4 stories total? His personality was good and he fit in well with Yaz and the Doctor. He was sarcastic, and missed his crush. He had guts, running around with a wok in Liverpool during an alien invasion.
Yaz. I have feelings about Yaz. If only they had decided to make her crush on the Doctor apparently BEFORE series 13, it would have allowed them more than 3 episodes to deal with it. With what little reference there was to it in The Flux, there was maybe 4 lines and some screentime in the new years dalek episode for that season, and a 2-3 scene reference in the sea devils return episode. That, combined with her saving the Doctor's ass in Power of the Doctor, it feels like this was shoehorned in after audience response, which is almost never a good idea. Otherwise Yaz is a generally ok character with little to argue about, and not enough to her for me to dislike. I do feel like they used Power of the Doctor as the stock standard "companion who has a crush on the Doctor saves their ass" that all these types of companions get at some point. It just feels like it was decided late and they realized that they didn't have one.
Anyway, writing some of these opinions made me feel like it was 2014 again and I didn't like rose because I liked the 10th Doctor. Ofc some of these opinions are from a place of "oh no! They hurt the scrungly!" I did not read this before posting, I just WENT.
P.S. Also I have feelings about the Master, I'll post those later.
P.P.S Also I have watched some of classic who but there's a lot of it so I just skip around to whatever bits sound the most interesting at the time.

pours one out for donut rvb he was my fave to write about for so long... most of my early fics were about him before i Didnt Write For A While lol. i also loved writing tango omgcp... whether or not they were accurate is another story sdfjlkfes... and then my brain fell asleep for a while
in my CURRENT ERA of fic writing. well. 🤔 lol it kinda goes hand in hand with my doodles actually lol my fave characters to both doodle and write are twst boys... cater diamond + jamil/azul <- those two are a SET. caters fun and i Love Him, but also writing jamil and azul like, it's DIFFICULT bc theyre very smart and complex characters [everyone in twst is complex and it's intimidating to write LOL] BUT in my silly ha ha nonserious [usually] realm of things, they are VERY fun to write together for bouncing off Funnies... they make me literally audibly laugh in the actual game and i try to harness that energy a lot of the time when i write for them. but they have a lot of potential for jokes, and genuine soft sweetness, but also some angst? like theres a lotta ways to go with them and it's fun exploring them TOGETHER!!!!!!!
Same with cater ive just had jami/azu on the brain for like a day
also writing normal was fun, ive only done it once but in terms of doodles he fits the blorbo slot that donut/tango/cater have for the dndads realm, so i could see him being my fave to write for if i get more dndads fic inspiration in the future!

OOH. thats a good one hmmmmmmMMmmmm. ok so two sides of the spectrum here - on one hand i LOVE LOVE FOREVER LOVE my usual silly cute fluffy goofs. i love those. i wish to keep writing those forever. HOWEVER. i also sometimes get embarrassed about being Too Cliche so maybe sometimes i feel like im holding myself from doing More Of That Full Blast kfldsjfel i dont have a specific rn bc my brain is static but. sometimes i want MORE corny cheesiness.
BUT ALSO. that doesnt really answer the question jkslfj AND on the other hand i do think i also want to like... sometimes i want to try writing more charged serious drama w/some angst? nothing too crazy serious and heavy bc still At My Core im a goofy lil guy who likes to feel good and i wanna make people feel good. but like that lovesong [dndads] fic idea i talked about a while ago... that one would be a bit more 'serious' in tone and a lil more steamy [but in more of like a fade-to-black way jsklfd im still not into writing explicit things] themed thing. it would be very different than what im used to which is why im SCARED to try lol. im afraid i wont pull it off and will look silly for trying >.>!!!!!
but one of my more recent [twst] fics was a lil more serious in tone so i am trying to branch out a little!! it still had a mix of some goofs and was overall a comfort fic at the end of things so im like, easing my way into different things klsfjfls

genuine question as someone who’s fav character is also eggman, why do you want eggman to be this like. Serious pure evil character, I definitely wish he was in frontiers more and had like a boss but, he’s goofy that’s kinda the appeal to me idk, I think jim carrey did him best

"silly" is literally the first thing I described in my last summary of what I really love and want to see him be lol
I adore stuff like the Twitter Takeover and Pontaff era including games like Colors, where he can be a big silly billy in casual situations but it's balanced out with him still having serious goals, showing his evil in his plans and actions, and still hating and trying to defeat Sonic. my favorite thing is the balance of humorous and evil and they commonly overlap in great ways too.
he is pure evil because the man at his most true to canon self hasn't given a single damn about anyone but himself and is very dangerous but I never said I wanted him to only be serious... one of the greatest joys of his character is that he has so much range from serious to funny and is best when he has that perfect balance to make you laugh but is still excitingly evil too.
I also love the range of him being a more funny cheeky mischievous evil in some situations just as much as I love his serious dark dangerous threatening evil. I really like when there's overlap of humor and evil in any way the most. it makes him enjoyable for some lighter more casually presented evil fun and his humor can actually add impact when he's doing serious suspenseful evil.
my main problem with Frontiers isn't the lack of a significant serious role, I can accept that but not how he's out of character in English. plus he's actually funnier and sillier in the Japanese version at least to me because of how accurately careless and rude he is to Sage outside of praising her only for how she's an impressive manifestation of his genius that performs efficiently.
it's also funny and lovable how traits of his manchild side shows in both versions with how he gets all angry and huffy and crosses his arms and is like "I don't WANT to!" whenever he needs to do something he doesn't want to, like he's being asked to share his toys because he always demands to do things his way. the humor is there and it's one of the only parts I do like in the English version.
though I am still bothered by how he spent most of the game sitting in Cyber Space, he could've at least had the chance do something epic when he got out whether it was a boss or not but it would've been nice since the real final boss fucking sucks lol. if they'd gone the Japanese route instead of writing him extremely OOC at the end then I'd be happy enough with English too.
but yeah you seem to be misinterpreting so I hope that clears it up. Eggman being silly and funny is something I enjoy and I'll never have complaints as long as they remember his evil and keep the balance. English version didn't but Japanese did. getting less screentime is a bummer but I can accept less as long as he's still portrayed well in the time he does get, that's what I prioritize.
I'm not a fan of carrey's take because he doesn't have the Eggman essence that makes me enjoy it (I only see carrey). but I like Eggman's humor and it's one of his most charming, fun, and important personality traits besides his evil. I'm not asking for that to go anywhere either, I love game Eggman exactly as he is pre English Frontiers and the point is I don't want them to change a thing about him.

DW SERIES 6
We did it boys.
The series premiere was a bit disappointing (and confusing and convoluted) but well, um, we watched it.
"You're trying to turn me into you."
Best episode(s): It's a tie! Between The Girl Who Waited and Closing Time.
TGWW had an amazing concept and setting (I freaking LOVE the idea of the Two Streams Hospital!) And my god the character writing was on POINT. Best moment and the moment that rocked me to my core had to be where Rory told the Doctor
I mean, damn. That's on par with series 1's "You would make a good Dalek." And not to mention, this episode holds no punches. (Neither did The God Complex, but this one is a better episode in my opinion) when it comes to how manipulative the Doctor can be. 11 can be a goofy, silly little guy but at his core? Cold ass mother fucker.
And I LOVE that. It shows how fucked the events in series 2-4 made him. Time Lord Victorious does things to a mf.
Closing Time is not a super deep episode but it is funny and charming. And I could not stop smiling while watching it. I love Craig. I just do. I love how he's not even a companion but he's aware of what's going on with the Doctor. I love how the Doctor and him have this weird partnership going on and neither of them are like "ew gross" when they're mistaken for a couple. I love how it's implied that Craig actually *really likes* the Doctor (bicon!). I ABSOLUTELY ADORE the scenes with the Doctor and Alfie, especially with the galaxy lights. I'm using that in fanfiction, make my words. This episode was just fun. Simple as that. A nice little one off.
Also the part when the Doctor saw Amy and Rory from afar, that was really sweet. 🥺
I LOVE the relationship between the Doctor and the "human" TARDIS in this episode, it is so damn adorable. And the episode was written by Neil Gaiman! Yay!
Best thing about this episode? It's reminiscent of RTD Era present day Earth episodes. And God, I missed them!
Most surprising episode: The Doctor's Wife.
Look at that title. Look at the title and tell me what you expected this episode to be about. It's not! It's not that! Rory punches two Nazis, including Hitler but it's a fucking River Song centric episode. Lame. So fucking lame. Also that ending. Ugh....
Most Disappointing: Let's Kill Hilter.

Worst Episode(s): Another tie...
First, I'll say that the series finale is better than Big Bang. Because I could actually follow what was going on for the most part and it kinda(?) made sense(?) But besides that?
UUUGGGHHHH. So bad. So much bad.
At least i know what the hand tying thing looks like now. So I can use it in fanfiction. But I'd like to point some things out. Rivers statement about how no one loves the Doctor "no more than me"? Fuck. You. 1, nice assumption. 2, The TARDIS would like to know your location. Ugh, I HATED that line!
Also, also! This nice, romantic scene? ABSOLUTE MANIPULATION. The Doctor 'married' River to basically be like "There, I'm your husband now. Do what I say." Fuck this fucking scene. This romance. This plot line, END ME.
A Good Man Goes to War, is not as bad, but still pretty awful. Yet again, amazing title, terrible execution.
We got to meet some neat characters! ...and they're all dead. (But I'm assuming we learn more about them in other episodes)
I went into this knowing who Melody Pond/River Song is. But my partner didn't. So when it was revealed who she is, my partner's response was the following-
"EWWWWWW."
And that's all I have to say about that. Also River being conceived on the TARDIS gave her Mary-Sue Time Lord powers and Rose literally absorbing the Time Vortex did what...? Nothing?
Please no. I want Bad Wolf Theory to be true. please.
Compared to last series that really only had 1 episode that felt was worth the watch and was actually really amazing, series 6 had a few that I genuinely enjoyed but everything else was either meh or FUCKING AWFUL.
Series Rating- 6/10
So overall better series but Flesh and Stone doesn't hold a candle to the awful/awkwardness that is The Wedding of River Song.
Series 7 next. We already watched The Asylum of The Daleks which was a lot better of a series premiere than The Impossible Astronaut. (BTW, if I haven't mentioned it, I really could not care less about this era's overarching plot.)
Not looking forward to Day of The Doctor. Just being honest. I feel like the scenes between 11 and 10 will be fun but ill just be thinking about how

no eight
Rose is here despite not being her and Moffat not liking her unless he can use her as a plot device
But the two twinks interacting will definitely help in the crack fic I want to write.

Holiday Special 8: The End of Time Part 2
It never quite sets in until he regenerates, that this is the 10th Doctor’s final episode. Well, until the 60th sfglslgjk but yeah End of Time Part 2. Yesterday’s review showed I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first part, let’s see if the second part can clutch it out.
This episode does start where the other left off, and the first 20 minutes or so I still find to be a lottt, with the focus being on The Master and his new power having control of the entirety of Earth. I kinda don’t wanna mark it down for this cause the episode has to continue this plotline as it’s a part 2, but it’s still a thing that’s irking me. What IS new though, is the return of the time lords. The one shot we get of Gallifrey (sad we didn’t get more sdlkjg) was beautiful with the Dalek shipwrecks scattered around the ruptured city, and Timothy Dalton plays Rassilon so well as this power-hungry commander.
The Act 2 of this story is kinda mid. Not bad, again we’ve got great moments with Wilf & The Doctor onboard the Vinvocci ship, but the point where this episode shifts from “a fine episode that attempts to make sense of the chaos” to “o dang this is amazing” is when The Doctor falls into the mansion again, and then the episode turns from a kinda goofy Master controls the Earth episode to The Doctor VS The Master VS Rassilon in a 3-man free for all. It’s *high* stakes but not the ridiculously silly kind, and it allows for some amazing character moments. The Doctor shoots the cloning machine thingy to send the time lords back, and then The Master gets his revenge on Rassilon for the drumbeat stuck in his head. It’s a rare instance where we see Simm’s Master and Tennant’s Doctor working together and it’s my favourite Master moment so far, lovely lil bit of character shown there.
The battle ends, both threats gone, and The Doctor survives. The prophecy foretold he would die but he survived. Until we hear those dreaded four knocks, as Wilf is stuck in this radiation machine. It’s a heart-breaking moment, and it’s where once again we get to see the 10th Doctor written as a tragedy. It’s such a unique angle to take The Doctor in and having him whine and moan about having to regenerate is such a difference to how any other Doctor has taken it so far (at least in new who). The way his character shifts from clamouring how he could’ve been “so much more” and how “it’s not fair”, almost like a toddler throwing his toys out the pram, to telling Wilf “it’s an honour” that he gets to be the one to save him. It’s all over the place but for a very clear reason, that The Doctor is now having to face his death. In The Lazarus Experiment, The Doctor echoes the famous quote “This is how the world ends. Not with a bang, but with a whimper”, and the reason I bring this up is it’s exactly how the 10th Doctor’s world ends. After all of the chaos and high stakes clashes this episode has had, it ends with 10 uttering the words “I don’t want to go”. Again, big source of criticism of the show, and may have had a strong role in me as a child not taking to the 11th Doctor that well, but I like itt c’monn what a way for this tragic character to go it fits SO well.
There are a lot of criticisms that have been given towards the final minutes of this episode, where The Doctor goes and says goodbye to all his friends he’s made during RTD’s era of the show, but I love it for that. These last few minutes are a love letter to this era of the show, to all the amazing characters that we’ve met along the way, and to the world RTD was able to build on as showrunner. If I wasn’t as much of a fan of this era, I’d maybe find it tedious myself, but as you’ve been able to see over these reviews these are series of the show that I cherish with all my heart. I’ve been a fan of this era since I was 7 years old and that’s not going to change anytime soon, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tearing up as The Doctor said goodbye to this era of the show and his life. Magnificent stuff.
TL:DR/Overview: This episode is one with a lot of sentimental value to me. Whilst I still find the first half of the story quite underwhelming, the final 3-way clash between Doctor, Master and Rassilon and the oncoming tragic final act as The Doctor tries to come to terms with his death are just perfect for the character. It gets an A tier from me. Incredibly high highs, but the first half of the story holds it back from S tier.

hey there! you recently reblogged one of my posts with a question about roy’s character (the op is fishfission-dc, this acc is my main.) i just wanted to let you know that the account you asked (elioherondale) is someone who goes around tumblr harassing anyone that draws or writes jason and roy together, with the characterization of the New 52 (2011-2016ish) run of their comics. (and I do say in the original tags that it’s specifically about this run!) So if you get a hateful or strange answer from them I just wanted to warn you :)
But if you wanted my answer to your question about how Roy is characterized differently, you can read this monstrous essay below.
In the older comics he’s more of a serious “asshole” who’s a ride or die for his teammates and daughter. (The new Green Arrow is a little more like this Roy, I know you said you’ve been into that recently :) ) He had an era in like the 80’s or smth where the writers gave him alcohol and heroin addictions, where Oliver was super unsupportive for a while, it was a whole thing. But Lian and his teammates and eventually Oliver helped him back to being a standup guy and the comics just stopped mentioning the addictions. When the DC universe was jumbled with the New 52 2011, he was a member of the Outlaws in Red Hood and the Outlaws and then when Kori left the series Red Hood / Arsenal followed just him and Jason. These series made him more goofy, the funny man to Jason’s callousness. But Roy would still kick it into gear and be serious as hell when needed, and he was competent, intelligent, all that jazz that’s true to his character. He just makes jokes now and actually tells his friends that he loves them.
this era also brings back the concept of Roy being an addict, which writers tries to shove under the rug for a while after the edgy 80’s arc that created it. Elioherondale and his jayroy harassment goons like to say that the New 52 comics “regressed Roy to being an addict” or that his friendship with Jason did it, but that’s not true!! In the New 52 he’s not actively using, he’s been clean for a long time, it just addresses the fact that heavy addictions aren’t something you can just get over and forget about. You struggle with them for the rest of your life. It’s a super serious topic and I think this contributed to why they made Roy more lighthearted and silly outwardly, because they focused so heavily on this inner struggle he has, and had a lot of serious moments around it.
the characterization in the New 52 comics also implies to change Jason’s and Roy’s ages to be more similar, making them “best friends” and “partners” whereas in the old comics Roy would’ve been probably 6ish years older than Jason, and would have met him at least 18 years old when Jason was 13. There is also so much romantic implication and just general good friendship and loyalty and all that good stuff in this era, even if the writing might suck at times (often).
so anyway, I love the characterization in this goofy little New 52 comic era of Roy and Jason but it makes Roy have a funny disaster personality and reintroduces the idea that someone with a heavy addiction can’t just get rid of that. so sorry this was so long, I just wanted to give you a more objective take on the question!!

I own like... one issue of the n52 redhood // Arsenal run. #9 I believe. I love Jason and Duela's relationship in the book.
But again, thank you for this message it was so fun reading through that, the new green arrow run is my first time reading a green arrow run and it's easily one of my top 5 along with Wonder Woman.

4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?
I'll set this to be about the rest of the Royal Polycule, sense he's known Mario and Luigi his entire life.
Irl I don't have very strong opinions on anything, especially not new people, and that does transfer over to this S/I as well, so a lot of his first thoughts about everyone boils down to "That sure is a person" without much else fkgjfdkgjd Sorry I'm boring.
He thought Bowser was VERY handsome when he first saw him at the Star Festival, which was an immediate issue with Mario and Luigi, who like two months ago almost died gruesomely to that guy. Things change. Also after talking to him for a bit the "oh he's hot" wore off to more a "Oh he's kinda silly" which yes, can go hand in hand, but not this time.
Now a days despite not being with anyone but Mario Romantically he does love everyone in the Polycule a lot. It's hard to cut the opinions down to short blips, but just know they're all amazing!
6. Has your s/i undergone any design/story changes since they were first made?
Hm... Yes and no... Sense finishing Assassination Classroom my S/I for it has been practically the same other than a few story tweaks as I stepped out of the end of my Angst Era of Self Inserts and more into my Goofy here for a good time era.
However, before I finished AssClass my S/I WAS a student rather than the School Nurse, because when the show originally came out, I would have been the same age as the students in the program. I even knew about it back then, I just didn't watch it for whatever reason.
But after falling in love with Koro-Sensei and knowing in my heart of hearts he'd never date a student, I changed my S/I to my irl age at the time, 20, because the rejection scene between my 15 year old S/I and Koro-Sensei my brain came up with where he lets me down gently broke my entire heart and made me for real cry.
So other than that, no he hasn't really gone through any changes.

He accidentally made Jackpot while tinkering with a Slot Machine. The Bear Head was not included, Jackpot made that himself
He's probably the 2nd most oblivious S/I I have, he is completely unaware half his traveling companions want to kill eachother, at least two want to kill him specifically, and all of them want to kiss him passionately on the lips.
