i was rechecking the sugar rush race storyboard and it turns out jeff diffenderfer updated the wreck it ralph page, now it has more concepts and a small explanation of how the actual track was designed and all that thingamajin. i couldn't not post a few of the things i thought were interesting!

You left the exam hall a couple hours later. To find out that your dad left a total of seven missed calls. You thought someone fucking died.

Of course, you called back. Preparing for the worst.

Your father picked up the phone, he explained that it was your friend. He had a mental breakdown because you weren't there for the opening of his dream restaurant. Eventually though, he calmed down enough to come back into the building to return the phone, eyes noticeably dull and tired, worse than before. He never stopped trembling.

The three of them sat down and talked.

Neither of your parents knew you stopped contacting him. They thought everything was fine, so your friend couldn't fault them for that.

Your parents trusted your friend, so they gave him your phone number and told him basic information about you now. Such as, the country you're studying in and the course.

You felt a pang of guilt, but you had to move on. You understood that he was busy, it would probably do no good for you to try and reach out to him. You would just ruin his plan and distract him too much. At least, that was what you thought.

Usually, he would call every day. But that turns to once every three days. Then once a week. Then never.

It's true that he would not miss a single day to send you a sweet message, a reminder to practice self care and that you're very dear to his heart. Which would be then followed by an update to his progress, it was stressful to read what he was going through and that was all he talked about. You felt like his personal diary, he stopped asking about how things were going for you.

Since it doesn't seem to bother him you weren't replying because he would send his texts when the entire world is asleep, you stopped opening his texts too.

You wanted to tell him in person that you're moving out to pursue your studies and you were granted a student loan. A crushing student loan. But... You believe his ten minutes of free time a week is better used for his sleep. Or even going to the bathroom perhaps.

A day passes by another and in the end, you moved on without him. Without telling him. It just always slips your mind every time you see him brisk walking towards his beat up car with a stack of metal trays in his arms. They must be extremely heavy, you could see the veins bulging out of his forearms and forehead.

It was hard to watch his cheeks get sunken in, his hair going back to its' matted, unhealthy state, dark bags forming under his constantly bloodshot eyes. He looked like he aged a decade older from all the stress and pressure. But... He is working towards his dream and you're happy for him. It was great that he finally achieved what he wanted, he deserved all of its glory for working his ass off like that.

You held no ill will towards him, but you grew apart. He was so consumed with work that the friendship suffered in silence, there were no more fun hangouts together at the mall, you don't get to eat his cooking anymore (you didn't want to burden him by buying a tray, he already has too much to do), no more fun conversations about the silliest shit. It was just... Bank loans, revenue, expenses, investors, employees, employers, credit score, mortgages, taxes etcetera. The urgency and distress was also rubbing off you too, there were nights you woke up in a cold sweat because you had a nightmare that your hypothetical restaurant failed and you went into debt.

So you thought, he needed his time. You shouldn't really interfere with anything you don't understand. Your friend is already nose deep in the real world, you're not even close to it yet and you're not ready for it yet either. Therefore, you took the route most young adults take after getting a high school diploma: getting a bachelor's degree in some field of study that you probably don't even like.

You trudged onwards to the direction of your hostel. You need to get ready for your shift, money is a little tight now and you don't want to burden your parents too much. They're already sending a lot of money to support your living.

If your friend knew you were working hard for some extra money, his heart would break. It would be devastating news to him, no doubt, he would at least have a dozen freakouts and breakdowns. But you don't know that, yet.

As expected, your friend eventually called you. It was later than expected; it took him a week before he called your new phone number himself. He needed to calm down and collect his thoughts, as he knew that he might just drive you away if he comes barreling in with passionate yelling and sobbing over the phone. Plus, he also needed to focus on his new restaurant too, he can't just abandon his lifelong dream like that. How else is he going to make enough money to provide for you? He can't take back the money and time he invested in this now, all he can do is keep going and find some compromise.

It was tempting to go M.I.A. and hastily book a plane ticket to wherever you're studying. He was deeply yearning for your presence, he was desperate, he was clawing his arms and decorating them with nasty scars in an attempt to keep the urge at bay. He was extremely miserable but he had to keep going, to build that wonderful, cushiony foundation for you and him to fall back onto.

Everything he does, he does it for you.

He was polite, kind and pleasant during the first phone call you both had in two years. Though, there was a noticeable twinge of hurt in his mildly wavering voice. He still sounded like he's happy and relieved to hear you again.

The call started off with a greeting, then some small talk, then finally to the meat of the call;

Why didn't you tell me? He asked. It seems like he was fighting back his tears.

You didn't answer right away, you don't know what to say.

You could tell him the truth that he was too busy with his endeavors and you just don't feel like interfering by burdening him with "unnecessary information". However, you think that might wound him deeply as you're somewhat blaming him for your own actions.

You could lie... and tell him what, exactly? Either way, it would hurt him even more and there is probably going to be some resentment.

So, you apologized. You kept your reasoning brief and simple; you needed to move on. You acknowledged that whatever you did wasn't very nice of you, but you still had to proceed and you thought that it would be better that you didn't tell him.

There was a moment of silence between the both of you.

On the other side of the call, your friend was wracking his brain, trying to comprehend what you just told him. It came across as you not wanting to do anything with him anymore because you feel unprioritized, unimportant, inferior. Guilt and remorse was eating him up, he is putting all the faults onto himself.

He spiraled downwards in that call, spewing nonsense and absurd promises to destroy everything he has ever worked for just to have you back in his arms. Deranged negotiations involving the idea of blinding, deafening, mutilating or doing some sort of bodily or mental harm to himself to prove something; prove that he puts you above everything else and also to punish himself for neglecting you.

It was horrifying to hear your dear friend babble about putting himself into financial ruin for the sake for your forgiveness. He spoke of his accomplishments and advancements as they were disposable, as if it held no value compared to you.

This isn't normal, far from it, Your friend devolved so much to the point he was making demented pledges to kill and maim your enemies for you, and only you. To eviscerate the ones you dislike and send videographic proof of it, to disembowel his business associates to show that they mean absolutely nothing to him. Mind you, he was talking about real, breathing, living humans.

It was hard to fully grasp the insanity in his now incoherent words, he was muttering apologies and self hatred. Promises of severe self harm was also common in his mad speech. At one point, religion and superstitions were thrown into the mix. But you could not understand what he was chanting about.

What the fuck are you talking about? Your friend didn't pick up on your distress... or words over his excessive tirade against himself.

Everything I do, I do it for you, and I would do anything and everything for you. I love you- You hung up.

You couldn't take a second more of that. It was really difficult to see this side of him. It hurts you too that he became like this, perhaps all the stress from building a business from the ground up fried his mind. Whatever it was, you knew that he is not good for you anymore.

You sent him a final text message telling him that you're not comfortable with him after that massive sanity slippage. You wished him luck and expressed your regrets that it had to turn out this way.

You didn't give him a chance to respond, you blocked him immediately on everything and went on with your day.

Whatever he said kept replaying in your head like a broken record. It was pure horror.

under the cut i want to talk a little bit, maybe overshare as well. ill try to keep it short (rereading nat here. i didnt). its a sad post, might make some of you angry but not for the reasons you think

i was staying away on purpose, but a few people asked about me so i wanted to let you know that hey, im lurking, im waiting to see what happens. maybe some things will change in the future but im putting it out here so its all in one place

i think i want to start with saying thank you again for sticking around, supporting my art and my thoughts and having discussions with me. i really opened up about myself and what I created here. im very anxious person and it influences my life on every level, so being heard, seeing people laughing at my jokes, loving my art has been so so important to me

about the situation, the gogcident if you will, i logged out as soon as i saw things going down and been getting updates though different source. and while situation is still on going and i dont know where it will go, as how it ends, theres two or three things im firm on that will always be true for me:

i really hate how believe all victims turns into believe everyone who speaks first, no matter what they say, no matter context, no matter proof. the first statement made in this case was untrue in a lot of important details and while i dont think caitis feeling are wrong or invalid i think her first statement made this situation into something it isnt. i think every victim should be heard but attacking everyone who was accused right away is not a solution

i do believe that everyone who was accused of anything has every right to defend themselves. the way its constantly taken away from dteam is not lost on me and its insane and upsetting

you can be traumatized by the events that werent in its core meant to be traumatizing. sometimes people act shitty and leave scars on you and sometimes you can do the same to other people

edited note bc i want this to be here as well: guilty until proven innocent is a crazy mindset and i cannot imagine situation that i would allow it. some idiots dont even realise how dangerous rhetoric that is. including accusers not being obligated to provide any proof of their claims

twt is the worst thing to deal with any discourse, misunderstanding or any delicate situation. i think no ones there cares for any victims period. i wish that place the worst

okay so what now. i havent decided yet. georges and dreams moves so far confirmed for me that no matter what happened it wasnt with malicious intentions. ill wait to see how this plays out and then ill decide about my next steps. one think i did for sure is i uninstalled twt from my phone (and that already bit my ass the moment dream started his space…) that part of fandom, both people who like (liked?) and hate dream is so damn self-destructive, toxic, manipulative and performative it wasnt worth it anymore. for here, i dont know yet. i dont hate dteam, i think this is very unfortunate and sad and complicated situation that left people very deeply hurt. and i wish it wasnt this way and im pretty sure dteam also wish that. but they cant change it and i cant change it even more

now this is something i dont really know how to tell you but let me try. i never mentioned this bc when i had those realizations, it was too late, everyone moved on and i felt stupid for dwelling on this. i feel stupid now, typing this. the thing is, drituation left me quite traumatized. fucking pathetic, i know. the sudden explosion of fandom left me really badly hurt. i lost a lot of people i genuinely believed to be friends with, and i miss them dearly. i felt, fuck it, still feel deeply betrayed by some of them. i dont want people guess who is who thats not the point, those people moved on long time ago. but that hurt has been really difficult to deal with, especially since realistically i know its quite stupid. crying over some people who were following me back for a few months? but i tried to let myself heal and grow love for this community again and i thought we will be okay. drituation felt like the end of the world but we got through it and I thought we are smarter. and well. im not trying to blame anyone or even a whole community, idk maybe i want to blame the universe for putting me here or society for working this way i dont know. but im hurting and i need to find a better way to deal with things going the wrong way. and it deeply upsets me but im afraid that i have to learn how to love you all less. and i honestly dont know yet what that means, how moving forward will look like. i dont have to make this decision now so i let myself stay away from social media for a while still and then go with presented situation the best i can. i dont try to make anyone responsible for my wellbeing i want to make this clear. im just trying to share my feelings and give you context for whatever happen in the nearest future. no matter what i need more healthy relationship not even with ccs but with community itself (and if you see me rebloging hazbin hotel fanarts. spare me...)

in this place i do want to state that no matter what i dont think dteam are bad people. im not closing myself at possibility of participating in the fandom, probably less though things i mentioned earlier. but if any of those things make you uncomfortable in any way, feel free to unfollow/softblock

im leaving my askbox open if anyone has anything to say, add, or idk, scream at me. not sure if i answer any tho. also if i delete this post in the next 10 minutes out of embarrassment then well, haha

on the final note i want once again thank you all for supporting me when i needed help for my cat. you all did something amazing, something i will never forget and i wish to hug everyone of you in person. thank you

Clutching your books to your chest, you entered Herbology, about to walk over to your normal spot but it was already taken by someone else. You couldn't see their face, just that they had brown hair and from their cloak was a Ravenclaw. You stood there for longer than you should of, debating whether to go up and ask for your normal seat, next to your prefect boyfriend…or to just find the next available one

Your decision was made for you when the girls fingers run up and down your boyfriends’ arm. Turning away, you spot James trying to make something out of paper in the back so you head over

He doesn’t react when you sit down, just continues making what you think is a flower as he follows steps written on his arm “This look like a…” he holds it up to you, but from his confused look he was clearly expecting his usual partner

Sirius and James used to sit together, but when Sirius took an interest in you he switched seats so he could be close. James didn’t mind at all, he knew Sirius would do the same for him if it meant he could sit next to a certain Miss Evans

James looks over towards Sirius but you keep your eyes trained on the weirdly shaped flower he was still half holding up “What'd he do?” he asks and your eyes snap towards him “I swear whatever it was he’s probably not even realised” he continues, his words more than genuine but it didn’t make you feel better

You weren’t much of a talker, sure you had gotten comfier with Sirius’ friends but your words were still barley a whisper “Nothing”

He tilts his head “Then why you sitting here? Not that I don’t enjoy the lovely company…the Ravenclaw I’m usually with talks all the bloody time” he chuckles to himself and you smile shyly

“My seats taken” you say simply, not sure if James can pick up the sadness in your voice

He did, and his heart ached for you. Sirius had confessed to him that he was scared he was too much for you, of course he didn’t know you felt too little for him. Ironic that in reality you were the perfect balance

“Well” James smiles at you, deciding, as future best man at your wedding, he should cheer you up “Does this look like a flower?” he holds the paper towards you, twirling it around

James was a goofy person…not as cute a goof as your guy but still it was endearing. You shake your head, nose crunching

He lets out a laugh, one attracting the rooms attention “Fuck” he shakes his head, tone light-hearted “It’s supposed to be a cherry blossom” he explains and then goes on to show how sweet James Potter could really be “You see once in like 2nd year, Lily said that she hates flowers because they die. So I was out with your Sirius this summer and saw this book for making origami flowers...and now I want to make her a bouquet of them because they’ll last forever” he smiles as he talks, Lily was a very lucky girl

“If she doesn’t love you for that then she’s silly” you tell him in probably the longest sentence he’d ever heard from you

He smiles “Thanks futures Mrs Pads” he winks and your eyes widen

James chuckled to himself at how worked up you got over being called Sirius’ future misses as class began. While you just focused on the passage of your book, he caught the eye of Sirius who gave him a small smile mouthing

‘She okay?’

James bobs his head, holding up his hand and teetering it, watching as Sirius’ eyebrows knitted

‘why is talk-y girl sitting there’ James gestures with his hand

Sirius rolls his eyes 'She needed help with something’ he answers shrugging

The girl had come to ask him a question and he obliged, of course by the time she had stop talking enough for him to actually answer said question class had started and he could not longer ask her to politely fuck off.

He tries to catch your eye but you won’t look at him so he turns his gaze to James ‘Don’t let her leave’ he asks

James nods giving him a little salute before holding up a flower for judgement, poking his cheek smiling as Sirius mouths ‘pish mate’ before turning around to face the front

You couldn’t pay attention during class, your were supposed to be cutting samples and then identifying them, but really it was spent trying to ignore the girls giggles at your boyfriend and watching James make his the little flowers. You offered to help but he said it wouldn’t mean as much if he didn’t make them himself, and you thought that was so sweet

You wondered if Sirius would want someone to do that for him, so you started making him a little flower, following one of the more complex guides since James decided to just plop the book on the desk, since his written instructs were all smudged and he now had the words ‘fold three times’ written backwards on his cheek

Near the end of class, you saw Sirius smiling and talking with the girl, watching her fill in the conversation and him nodding along. Looking down at your little flower you shoved it in your cloaks pocket, realising that it was a silly thing to make him amd really everything you could offer was kind of silly. You barely talked in public, got flustered easliy, not to mention you couldn't even go up and ask someone for your own seat...it was no wonder people questioned whether you two were actually together.

When class ended you pretty much bolted out of the class room, so fast that James only turned away to pick up his bag then you were gone

“Where is she?” Sirius comes up to the desk, watching as James comedically looks around

James cringes “I had one job” he admits nodding

Sirius nods too “You had one job” he repeats beginning to walk out before stopping “Yes…yes…no… definitely no…yes” he points to the assortment of flowers “I’m still mad at you though...but these are pretty and that one matches your eyes” he points at James before walking out leaving the boy chuckling

As Sirius gets out of the class he sees you quickly making your way around the large courtyard, since after a prank last week there were now hedges in the way of the regular path to the castle entrance

“This is gonna hurt” he prepares himself running towards the hedges and jumping over them, thank merlin of his padfoot side or there was no way he could jump high enough

You were still in your rush when someone landed, quite literally in front of you…and you soon realised that someone was your boyfriend

“Siri?” you say mostly to yourself, hearing giggles and laughs from other passing near by

He groans turning onto his side, leaning on his elbow “Hello darling” he winks, clearly out of breath and in immense pain but still his smooth flirty self

“Are you okay?” you crouch in front of him, looking a little worried

He nods, shifting to sit up on the ground “I am now” he reaches his hand out, thumb flicking over your cheek

Your smiles tug up but your insecurities come back as the girl from earlier passes

“Thanks Siri” she says in flirty tone

He smiles at her giving an awkward kind of wave before turning to look at you, heart aching as he sees your saddened look, chewing your gum bellow your lips, a habit he noticed you did when you were upset

“Darlin” he gets your attention but his sudden movement closer spooks you and you fall onto your arse, skirt flipping up, not so much you were exposed but from his angle he couldn’t help admiring just a little

He leans forward “You okay?” he asks

You nod your head, shying away as people pass

“Hey!” you let out a squeak at your boyfriends’ tone but then realise he’s talking to some Hufflepuff walking by “Only I get to look at her like that!” he warns him, looking slightly menacing before he turns to you, face softening “Sorry” he kisses your nose, fixing your skirt for you

“Thank you” you give him a tiny smile

His hands rest on your knees, chin leaning on them like he wasn’t in the middle of the courtyard or the path leading around it but in your dorm instead

“Missed you in class”

“You did?” you wonder tilting your head, he didn’t seem like he missed me, you think but feel guilty for it

“Course I did” he kisses your bare knee, thumbs rubbing gently into the skin

You bite your lip, looking around to see no one around, most now at their next class. You return back to him, thinking for a moment before you speak

“Why…” you hesitate “Why are you with me?”

He tilts his head in surprise “Why am I with you?” he repeats the question, making sure he heard it right

You nod

“Because I love you” he says with ease “And you make me happy, and on top of that you’re the most adorable person on the planet” he smiles at you, his heart aching you had to ask but he understood why you did

Your heart flutters but your insecurities remain

“I don’t talk a lot” you admit as if you’re trying to talk him out of his sweet confession

“And I talk too much” he tells you, shifting to sit next to you, his heart warming as you absentmindedly pick out a leaf from his hair

“Darling” he wraps his arm around you “Do you love me?” he asks, slight insecurity in his voice seeping through

You nod right away, shuffling closer into him and he kisses your temple

“Good, because I love you more than anything. More than stealing Remus’ chocolate, or James’ mums cooking, way more than pranking Slytherins and you know how excited I get about that...especially after” he says nudging his nose into your cheek and you giggle shyly “You’re the perfect girl for me, siriusly" you both giggle at that one before he cups your cheek "You’re more than enough y/n” he says firmly, looking in your eyes

“But I didn’t…”

“You didn’t need to say it because I have the same...yet opposite fear. I feel like I’m too much…that…” he takes a breath “That I’m just annoying you”

You pout at him “You aren’t annoying, I love listening to you talk…you have a nice voice” you confess taking your hand out of his hand reaching into your pocket, pulling out the flower “I made you this in class” you give it to him

His mouth parts looking at you then the flower, smiling brightly as he takes it “No one’s ever gave me a flower before” he takes it from you, pressing a lingering kiss to your cheek

“You’re my flower” you say quietly

He nuzzles into your hair “And you’re mine” he whispers

You turn your head to face him, noses brushing before he leans in, lips meeting softly. His hand comes up to cup your cheek, fingers hooking gently at your jawline to pull you just that little bit closer

"Why are you on the ground?" the two of you break away to see James with an amused smile, around 20 little paper flowers cradled in his arms

You and Aj have been dating for 5 months. It's been amazing. You are a racer and this year you got signed with the leading team in F1, Redbull. You were overjoyed and had your first race in a week. You invited Aj and told him to get his friends along as well.

A week later

The first GP was in Baku, and you had just reached. You went to your hotel and were planning to have lunch with Aj and his friends. You had never met them but you had watched a few of their videos when Aj showed you their channel, and you thought they were hilarious. Aj texts you to come downstairs. You go to the reception and you see Aj standing. “AJ!!” You shout and run over to hug him. You hadn't met in a week since you were so busy with practice. “Y/N, I missed you soo muchh” He says hugging you back. “Are we ready to go?” You ask about the lunch. “I just need to go to my room and wait for the guys to get ready too” He replies “Okayy, im just gonna go get ready as well” You both go into the elevator, Aj gets off on the 3rd floor, where u see his friends, wave slightly before the elevator goes to your floor.

Aj goes to his friends. “Your telling me you pulled her??” Kenny asks. “NO CHANCE MAN BROS LYING” Chunkz shouts louder than expected. “Yeah??” Aj replies confused to all the commotion. “Aj, you know your my friend right? Like we live together and im so close to you, but i call bullshit” niko says. “Aint no way shes your girlfriend, shes too pretty” sharky added on. “I cant believe this man. HOW DO YOU LOT NOT BELIEVE ME?” Aj gets upset. “Nice one bro, its gonna be a great video for you” Chunkz laughs and the rest join in. “I dont even care, just go get ready in 10 minutes for lunch” Aj says as he shakes his head and goes to his room.

10 mins later

All the guys meet up downstairs and are waiting for y/n. “Sooooo your “girlfriend” isn't here yet huh aj?” Niko says, air-quoting girlfriend. “She's coming omg guys believe me she's my girlfriend,” Aj says getting sick of his friends. “Right right we totally believe you bro,” Sharky says sarcastically. Then y/n comes out of the elevator “AJ!! Here!” you shout at him. “Y/N!!” He says back as you walk towards him and his friends. “Guys this is y/n my girlfriend, and y/n this is Niko, Chunkz, Sharky, and Kenny,” He said pointing at each one. “Hey guys, im glad I can finally meet you all!” you say while smiling. All the guys stand with their jaws dropped. “SEE I TOLD YOU!” Aj shouted at them. “What?” you say confused. One of them, you remember as Chunkz says “We saw you in the elevator before, and since youre soo pretty, we just assumed Aj was making this whole thing up as a prank, and we didn't believe him at all… Clearly we were wrong”. You laugh while Aj stands there pouting. “But why?” Kenny asks. “Cause y/n is beautiful, kind and ambitious af?” Aj says like it's the most obvious thing. “No I get that, i was wondering why she would choose you, she's literally a goddess-looking F1 driver, and you're a rat,” He says and all the boys laugh. “Awww, he may be a triangle, but he's a cute triangle” You reply which gets then laughing even more. Aj smacks your arm as you giggle. “She's funny too?? Damn Aj you got nothing over her” Niko says as all of you walk out to go to lunch.

a/n: pixane breakup sorry

They’d fought before he’d left on the trip to the Desert of Doom. Pixal had been distraught after the dust had settled and they’d believed Zane was dead- tortured with the pain of knowing one of her last conversations had been an argument over personal space. An argument where she pushed him away.

“I feel like I am always waiting for you to pay attention to me.” Zane says crossly, the two of them in Pixals garage. She doesn't even know how the conversation devolved into this- Zane had come in while she'd been in the middle of figuring out a particularly challenging mech issue, pestering her to come to dinner.

“I have other responsibilities.” She retorts, “My priorities do not revolve around you, Zane.”

He frowns, frustrated, “I did not say they did. I just wish I could join you more often. I would spend every moment with you if I could.”

Pixal shakes her head before he even finishes, “We have discussed this. I enjoy time to myself. I am no longer in your head, and I would like to be my own person.”

He seems wounded by that, “I am not attempting to take away your independence.” he turns away and the conversation lulls for a moment, “...We have not been on a date in weeks. We sleep in the same bed at night, but I feel lonely.”

Its her turn to get frustrated, “I have informed you multiple times that I am working on a major update for the Samurai X mech, and until it is finished I cannot take the suit out. It is imperative I complete the update as soon as possible.” She loses some ire as his words sink in, “...I know this is not ideal, but we can resume date nights once the update is complete.” She says far gentler this time, taking his hand.

Zanes face twists minutely, “There is always another update.” He says, voice tinged with bitterness.

Her hand feels cold when he pulls his finger away, “What are you trying to say?”

Zane shakes his head, “I do not want to discuss this any further at the moment. We will talk later.” He pulls away, rounding her drafting desk and making a beeline for the door.

When he’s gone, Pixal sits down in her chair heavily. She pushes the conversation to the back of her mind and picks up her pencil again, puzzling over the joint issue she’d been experimenting on for the past 2 weeks. She works late into the night, and by the time she comes to bed Zane is already asleep. In the morning, She wakes up before he does and rolls out of bed, getting dressed and heading out the door towards the garage as he first opens his eyes.

Then he’d left with the other to the Desert of Doom and all hell had broken loose, and then- and then he was gone.

Just like that.

And he died thinking she didn’t care about him.

That's a simplified version of the argument, she knows that, but she cant help it. She feels so guilty about it, even if she wasn’t entirely in the wrong. She needed alone time, it helped her center herself and focus- but there was nothing she wouldn't give for another minute of Zane's clingy presence curled around her on the couch as she works on blueprints and he reads the complete collection of ornithology encyclopedias next to her. She wishes she could take him out on a date again, just once more. Updates could wait.

When he come back from the Never Realm, she is there by his side. She nearly welds herself to his hip with how attached she is, following him around to make up for lost time. She'd missed him so badly it felt like her core had been snapped in two, half of it taken across the ethereal divide with him in his banishment.

Slowly, she realizes he's been wiggling gout of spending time with her. She wakes up to find his spot on the bed empty. She returns from the kitchen with snacks to find the couch empty. Half-baked excuses thrown out left and right so he can squirrel himself away on the roof, or in the grass outside the gates, or tucked away alone in the corner of the library.

that's where she finds him today, at her wits end, confronting him on the way he was avoiding everyone. avoiding her.

“This should make you happy.” Zane says cooly, and there's only a tinge of bitterness to his words, “This is what you wanted, after all.”

Her heart seizes painfully in her chest, her wires curling and her fans kicking into high gear as that simple string of words guts her. “That- That is not fair.” She starts, taking a fumbling step back as if physically struck. Where her stomach would be feels like its filled with bricks.

“It is not fair,” He acquiesces with a downward glance, avoiding her eyes, “Nothing that happened has been.”

“I did not want you to change.”

He smiles and its not a pretty thing, all sharp edged and a bit manic, “And yet, I have changed. Do you still love me?”

“Of course i d-”

“Stop. Stop.” He shakes his head, hauling himself up out of the chair to stand like its a great feat of strength, “You do not know that. You have no idea.”

“I know my feelings toward you.”

“Pixal!” His eyes snap to meet her for the first time in this conversation, and they’re wickedly blue and so, so scared, “This is not about you!”

She reaches out, “Zane-” But he turns away from her, shuttering his expression.

“You do not even know who I am anymore. I am not the man who left you. I am someone else, living in his shell.”

She flounders for a moment, “You are the titanium ninja.” She tries.

He smiles like that’s funny, “If only it were that simple.” He concludes the conversation with that, moving past her. She’s alone in the library surrounded by books with no answers, the sudden silence stunning her and rooting her feet to the spot. She had been horrifically ill equipped for this conversation, but she couldn’t- she couldn't just let him leave. Not like this.

“Wait- Zane!” She whips around to follow him, scrambling out of the room and into the hallway.

She catches up to him in the kitchen where he’s leaning against the counter and looking out the window above the sink. She stops in the doorway, “Please, explain this to me. Why is it not simple?”

He looks at her like he’d already accepted she wouldn’t love him anymore, “I am never going to get better, Pixal.” He says plainly, and the words curdle in the air between them.

She feels like her processor has failed to load, “I do not understand.”

He spreads his arm wide, palms flat and empty, “This is all there is, now. I am all I am. I spent sixty years holding that staff, and it has changed me. All of you are waiting for me to snap back but there is nothing for me to return to. I am cold, and silent, and I want to be alone. I want you all to leave me alone.”

She can’t move, joints locked in heartbreak. All the words she struggles to string together feel so meaningless and pathetic. “I am so sorry, Zane.” She settles on, inadequate.

He slumps back against the counter and raises a hand to his forehead, rubbing at his temples as if this conversation has given him a headache, “All of your issues with me are fixed, Pixal. Be happy. I give you permission to be happy.”

“It doesn’t make me happy.” She says miserably, “You did not need to be fixed.”

“And yet, I am.”

A long pause where nothing is said spreads like blood over the room. Pixal doesn’t know how to salvage this. She loves Zane. She truly does, but he’s- hurt, and he’s confused. She doesn’t know what went on in the Never Realm, just that his sense of self has been ripped from him again. He doesn’t remember who he used to be, “I can help you. I can remind you of who you used to be- I could tell you who you are.”

His hand drops, but he doesn’t raise his eyes from the tiled floor, “Would you tell me what to think?" His voice is flat and toneless, "Who to fight? How to fight? Would you tell me what I've forgotten?”

“I could.” She confirms, taking a step towards him. She knows him, inside and out. She knows him.

“You have no idea… how tempting that is.” He says slowly.

Zane stands up, hip checking himself off the counter, “I’ll be sleeping in the guest room indefinitely. It is best if we terminate our relationship immediately. I will clear my things out of our shared room by 6pm tonight.” He doesn’t break stride as he walks past her and straight out the door.

Pixal has to grab the counter so she doesn’t collapse, devastated. she had to fix this. she had to.

you have been warned.

One year and 30 days. i waited. impulsively,selfishly being the first to look up any new updates on the book, the title, a quote, a word? everything. all for it to end up like this AGAIN. it felt very rushed. and was sooooooooo underwhelming. eva had to always rush behind him like she had to do the work while he just gave up. i read another review saying he is the villain so wasn't he supposed to be the one not giving up,he should have been endlessly pursuing her/ so true, couldn't agree more.

JACKS changed all of a sudden in this book, he generally is flirtatious, kind and cruel+charming.but here in this one he isnt trying at all. he wasnt doing anything for her.i wanted him to apologise and plead for her forgiveness after she lost her memories after his wholerude ass tantrum at the arch.but he didn't, instead he sort of blamed her for losing her memories. isnt he resposible in the first place.he was not even involved in this book. he felt like a SIDE character.

EVERYTIME I SAW ASSOLO's pov i had to take a deep breath because it was gonna suck.i didnt wanna see aurora or Appolo. gosh were they annoying.

it had very magical writing. But Garber has written better. the plotline seemed bland to me since the previous book was a filler book[but now looking back i was too harsh on the previous book] and this one was just adding to the second book.

okay we readers have been waiting for these two to kiss for like three years. and she gave us what one page? maybe two? couldn't she have given us a wedding? an epilogue to the epilogue???? likeeee the epilogue was not a good epilogue. what about when she saw her vision, where she was gonna married in a place like the hollow in the first book in her dad's curiosity shop??? was this there in this acftl or did i just miss it?? cuz i feel like she was supposed to be adding that as the epilogue.

i am soooo pisssed bout the fact that she GAVE US BARELY TWO PAGES OF THEM BEING TOGETHER AND THATS IT ???LIKE WHATTT. AND lala deserved better like her dude Dane's alive. shouldnt she know about this shit?? the whole deal with castor and lala what about that?? what happened to Marisol or LUCIEN??

i cant believe reading this book has made me think the previous book was wayy better. jesus i have a newfound respect for the previous book as the plot was more involved,pacing and everything was better than this one. ughhhhhh so many elements missing.

EDIT:i just read the waterstone and B&N epilogues.

in the waterstone one why tf did the epilogue have to be about such a frivolous thing.whyyy eva do u want to be so naive? after everything Apollo had done she wants to set him free or sum shit.i swear i hate evangeline sometimes. but jacks stops herself from doing that. i don't know this felt very unnecessary and tedious to be an epilogue.

the B&Noble's one was more sweet and emotional. i liked it but my statement still stands. stephanie could have given us more EVAJACKS.

* He also loves reading and watching movies, he always finds some time to do so

* “And they got lost while snow boarding so they had to cuddle up together, like it was sooo cute!” You mindlessly rambled on

* “Do you wish it was you?” Oikawa teased as he opened the door to the apartment

* “Well…mayb- AHH PUT ME DOWN OIKAWA”

* “Sorry, gotta give my book worm her nap”

* He took you to the couch and let you lay on his lap while he snuggled you in a blanket and put on your favourite movie to watch <3

Koshi Sugawara

* The instant you and Sugawara met, you knew it was meant to be

* He was just as interested in any movie or book you’ve read

* He loved listening to your talk about you favourite shows with so much passion

* Your favourite spots would be a little bench in the park or a small cafe to get a quick snack

* You were so cute to him as you excitedly told him about the newest release and he would excitedly reply with the same energy or more

* He is so cute he would rather die then interrupt you, never wanting to miss a thing and would always tell you where you left off so you could continue

* He and you would take turns choosing books and set a goal or have a challange on who could finish it first

* It was honestly just a way to have someone to talk to about your current read but Sugawara never refused and always took the challenge

* This man would never ever get mad at you for anything, even if you spoil what would happen he would just laugh it off

* He would join you at lunch as you always had something to say

* Always had some sort of input

* “I just cant believe they done her so dirty”

* “YES YOUR SO RIGHT! LIKE HOW COULD THEY!” you shouted a bit too loud but you couldnt help it. You loved when he was listening and matched you energy (which is always)

* His favourite part would always be when you both had a date at home and snuggle under the blanket with a torch and a book ready to be started <3

* You guys met accidentally while he was practicing

* You were talking (complaining) to Kenma about why Kuroo couldnt just participate a little on the group assignment when he so happens to over hear

* “Oh someones talking about me” he would say smugly as he watched you mess up your words trying to make up an excuse to cover up your reason

* “Sorry, Im more focused on my extra-curricular right now. But I’ll try a little so you wont have to do it all”

* You met up after school and thats when he first came into contact with your true self

* At first it was slight remarks to books that he was forced to read for school but later he couldn’t tell but he knew it was quoted

* He asked you about it and you told him you were into books and movies and as a joke he said he was too

* Big mistake tho

* Cause when you started dating you made him read and watch all kinds of stuff

* He had to tell you eventually when he couldn’t keep up with the amount of requested books he had to read or movies to watch

* You were sad that he couldn’t relate to anything you were saying but he encouraged you to keep talking

* He would stare at you while you spoke, adoring you

* Literally loved how adorable you looked with your eyes sparkling in excitement and your little hand gestures as you explained to him for context

* Sometimes he would take you out for dates just to admire you

* “Kuroo? Are you listening?”

* “Hm? Oh yeah. Something about the dungeon being different”

* Your heart melted. It wasnt spot on but he was listening

* “Yeah they took the dragons away and added purple limestone during the years-“

* “And they made her go into the room without her helmet”

* “What, they tricked her?!” He would reply dramatically with a gasp

* You were going to forget the fact you already mentioned that part for the sake of his reactions

* When walking home he would hum and nod while watching around his surroundings as he listened to you speak

* “Thats literally not fair, like why did they end up together! Like the others had much cuter moments like when they went to the movies together”

* He smirked as he turned to you

* “Sweetheart, would you like to watch a movie together?”

* He took you to the couch anyways and let you lay on his chest with a blanket on top as you both watched your favourite movie for the 4th time <3
