I think one of the biggest tragedies of Laios & Falin and their relationship is how much his actions impact her life. But like. Specifically how much they WOULDN’T impact her life as much if they weren’t both stuck in such a shitty abusive situation.

This part of the Falin-tries-makeup daydream hour comic is what got me thinking about it again because truly it just... it seems like such a like an offhand comment that I'm sure Laios didn't mean to be cruel or anything. That's just like. A little kid not thinking about what they are saying. ESPECIALLY when the kid in question is Laios.

But man they depended on each other SO much as kids. Too much. It really feels like they didn't have any other source of positive reinforcement, or anyone else to share themselves with. So of course an offhand comment like that has a huge impact on Falin.

Or this little bit from one of the flashbacks:

This tears me apart. Do you think it tears him apart to think about? I think it does. I think Laios holds every small failure to care for Falin against himself.

And then there's the Bigger stuff. The way that him coping with his own trauma ended up impacting her.

Like his interest in monsters. Like him going to find a ghost, and accidentally revealing Falin's magic to the whole village in the process.

Like him needing to leave. And leaving her behind.

He shaped her life so much, and he carries so much guilt for it. And again, there should have been other people there to help. The same things that made Laios need to leave home are the things that made his leaving so hard on Falin. She ate alone after that. She shouldn't have had to eat alone just because Laios wasn't there.

She was 9 when he left for school, and he was 11.

Nine. And Laios feels like he failed her because he didn't stand by her through this better. As an eleven year old.

Both of these kids deserved so much better from the world.

Rhaela definitely hates the Targaryens more after noticing how Daemon & Rhaenyra were staring at each other throughout Laena's funeral. She honestly would've struck them down had it not been for Laena and her poor nieces's sakes. It always disgusted Rhaela when men replaced their dead wives so soon, especially when it comes time for Daemon to. She had been friends with Rhea Royce (one of the few people she actually respected outside her family) and knew knew a woman of her skillset would never die in such a way. Naturally, at least. She cried in Vaemond's arms when Laena informed her of the upcoming wedding, feeling helpless in protecting her niece from that beast.

As he leads the funeral, Vaemond keeps an eye on his wife to ensure she doesn't lash out. She comforts Laenor as best as she can, still seeing him as her sweet little nephew that would spend hours with her and his twin looking for the best seashells. Part of why Laena's death hurt so much was because she was still a baby in Rhaela's mind, a little girl leaving behind her other half. Rhaela smiles warmly at Qarl when he walks up to take Laenor from her. She's happy he was able to love again after Joffrey's tragic death. Qarl is family

Vaemond decides to go sailing for a bit with her and their children as a way to keep their mind off of the pain and prevent any more deaths Daemyra. She sorrowfully hugs Baela and Rhaena, not wanting to let them go. She makes them promise to become strong women like their mother and to come visit or send letters anytime. Rhaela promises that no matter where their father takes them, she'll be prepared to steal them away if they have any problems. Her and Rhaenys share a look, both grieving the loss of Laena and disgusted at the flirting they'd seen before giving one another a small hug.

It's while they're away that the dragons come to play. She returns hours later as Aemond tells Alicent not to mourn him and feels her heart break a bit seeing them. She may hate everyone, the Targaryens especially, but this is a little boy. Alicent's tearful eyes meet hers and it's almost as if something shifted, locking into place. It locked in even more once news of Laenor's death hit her ears, fueled by Rhaenys's belief of Daemon being responsible.

Letters would arrive back and forth from Driftmark and the Red Keep often after that. They meet again at the Driftmark hearing and share smiles as Alicent lets her know of her support for Vaemond's claim. When it came time to choose sides, it would be noted that Rhaela Velaryon didn't hesitate to back the Greens. Rhaenyra’s letter came to her and she burnt it without reading. Rhaela's response? Spirit Guide

Constantine is showing Billy Batson how to use magic (after discovering the kid doesn't have a mentor and again, IS A KID), they are entering into "Black Magic" and all that, Constantine is moraly grey so Billy don't care.

For practice they summon a Spirit to help Billy with his next classes, Constantine expected it to be dangerous cause you know, champion of magic and all that, but is surprised when into the summoning circle is a ¿Teen? (his age seems to change at times) in a hazma suit judging them. Honestly he is just happy Billy didn't summon a world threat (as far as he knows).

Billy explained Danny the situation and he accepted to help him with magic, he doesn't know a lot about it but can ask Desiree or Ghost Writer for knowledge. He also agreed in helping Billy when needed after heard about the "I am Captain Marvel/Shazam" mess and told him he is a protector spirit himself.

Constantine was amused cause that kind of ghost is rare, maybe the kid just have good luck. After that, Danny goes back and forth to Billy's lessons, helping him in both magic and being a kid hero (with some lessons about ghosts, dimensions and everything useful he can remember), he sees him as an apprentice of some kind. Billy even started calling him "Teacher Phantom".

He told Clockwork about it, completely proud of the boy's progress. Clockwork just judged him for not telling his supposed apprentice that he was the Ghost King but Danny didn't see the point in doing so.

Or at least, he didn't see the point of mentioning it until Constantine summoned the Ghost King for help with one of his subjects and as most of the heroes prepared to fight (cause this was supposed to be an unknown threat and probably hard to convince) Captain Marvel/Shazam was shocked and yelling "TEACHER PHANTOM?"

Which of course made Constantine curse his luck as the league misinterpreted everything. Danny might have made a miscalculation or two, but he didn't want to lose their friendship or tell them he was immortal, he was cut off from humanity for a long time.
