I have an idea that could work to give some secondary/background characters some more depth that they deserve since they're often overlooked by the fandoms a little bit XD

James Gordon has been forced by the police department, the mayor of Gotham, her own daughter and even Batman himself with his entourage to birds to go relax to the mountains or something as a holiday from all the stress of his job. After all of the hypocrites wants him to leave and go somewhere else to relax, he chooses to go to a place where he won't have any phone service to be properly disconected. The place he chose? Splittoon, Arkansas.

Meanwhile, Alicia is feeling a little disconnected of the world outside and want to know how everything in the USa is going on at the very least, however she doesn't want to deal with her sister who'll find a way to bring ghosts into the conversation (She still loves her, but she'd rather have a conversation that doesn't involve ghosts at all thank you), and everyone here in Splittoon is as isolated of the outside world as her. It doesn't help that she isn't good with technology anyways. The solution? Go talk to the new guy who wanted to spend his holidays in the middle of nowhere and guide him while also gaining info of the outside world.

Beware that this ought to remain platonic, James already had a wife and 2 children, he doesn't want to go have another wife again thank you, and Alicia is disgruntled with the concept of husbands after her first and last one failed her spectacularely.

I love this so much.

Just, him going out into the sticks "where nothing happens" and he and his new backwoods bestie have to save the world from an demonic invasion since all his communication devices where taken from him by his daughter and no one has a working phone or internet connection anywhere nearby.

His vacation becomes a first person shooter and he's only slightly salty about it

Some thoughts on my fandoms that I think could make you rethink your decision if you really want to give me a follow...

First of all, I am a multishipper. I don't really care what anyone ships. I just care about mine.

STAR WARS: I don't think the sequels were that bad. Fandom's treatment of TROS is too overreacting imo, that movie was just trying to pick up the shambles left from TLJ. I've shipped Reylo ever since TFA dropped. I also love FinnRey a lot. Luke and Obi-Wan are my favorite SW characters. Ahsoka is overrated. SWR was awesome and it's one of my favorite animated series. I silenced DinLuke so take what you want out of that.

DC: I didn't like The Batman (2022). I like my Riddler corny and campy. Gotham and Stargirl are my favorite DC series but I also enjoyed most of Smallville. I ship Batman with like everyone but my favorites are with Superman, Wonder Woman, GL (Hal). The only ones I don't really prefer are with Selina and Talia. I love Silver Age stories - BATB was so good. I also love JSA a lot. Love Clois also.

MG: I don't participate in the Kojima circlejerk - I am grateful for him to give us a series like this though. I particularly have a problem with his handling of some stuff, especially female characters in his stories. I love Solid Snake and Raiden the most and will do everything to defend them lol. I also love Liquid Snake and think Solidus is hot. I don't really care that much about Big Boss and the games surrounding him tbh. Otasune is canon also Ocelhira is a lot of fun. BBKaz just for angst purposes, I like it.

Yakuza: Kiryu Kazuma is my mans. I love him with all my heart. I also love Date a lot. I ship Rikiryu the most I guess, but I don't really mind other ships. If you think Kiryu is boring... idk what to tell you.

"Jack! I'm home!" You called into the apartment. It was small with dim white walls and creaky flooring. It was just about all the two of you could afford.

"Y/N?" You hear Jack's voice echo drowsily from another room. Probably the shared bedroom. Seconds later there's a thump and the sound of stumbling footsteps. Eventually your blonde haired man of a husband reveals himself, sure enough in his pajamas and bleary eyes.

"You look half dead Jacky." You chuckle at him and set down the heavy brown bag of groceries on the open kitchen counter. The light above flickers cautiously. Wouldn't be the first time the landlord cut your power for no reason.

"Feel it too, darling. Oh, and please don't call me Jacky. It's embarrassing, love." Your husband sneaks behind you and wraps his broad arms around your waist, pulling you close and earning a kiss to the cheek from you. This makes him smile faintly.

"Well I let you call me *insert embarrassing nickname* so why can't I call you Jacky?" You ask him pitifully and turn around in his grasp to face him with your hands looping behind his neck.

"Becauuse, my darling dear wife. I will stop calling you that if you don't call me Jacky. Deal?" Jack's mouth twitched along with his head before a smile broadened to reveal the off white color of his surprisingly straight teeth.

"Deal." You sigh dramatically and press a firm kiss to his lips.

"You're beautiful Y/N. Have I ever told you that?" Jack asks teasingly with a soft smile. Those dark pools for eyes of his ensnared yours and you felt your hips begin to sway under his hands.

"You have, and you should say it more often." You smile with a blush creeping on your cheeks.

"I'll tell you it everyday if I have to." Jack rests his forehead to yours and you swear music begins to play somewhere in the world, reaching both your hearts and calling for a dance in the kitchen.

"Promise?" You chuckle at him. Jack's face is serious though, and that smile is fainter. Those eyes darker than you'd seen in ages.

"For all our days my darling dear." He swears and seals the promise with a kiss.

BONUS: angsty, readers beware

Rain patterned down. It coated the field of battle and one man laid alive. Barely. His face was bandaged over completely from his nose down. A nasty grenade sending shrapnel cutting into his face and tearing the skin to sinew and muscle. Blood stained his uniform collar now. And tears fell from his eyes, soaking his rain watered cheeks and bandages.

He screamed. Screamed behind the white gauze and tape holding it down. The words were forever his undoing.

Dear John Napier,

It is with deep sorrow that we must report to you this tragic news. Mrs. Y/N Napier was a victim of a car accident. She was rushed to the hospital immediately and we regret to inform you she did not survive. Howard Killigan, the man responsible for the accident has been charged with manslaughter and a DUI. He was discovered to have been drunken during his driving. Our condolences Mr. Napier.

Howard Killigan was found murdered in his cell two months into his sentence, cameras showing a man dressed in a custom purple suit and a frightening clown mask. A message was written that night. Red stained the prison cell walls the words:

~ Titans Reunited ~ 💫

(All that matters in Titans S3 ep 13 finale)

🚨Beware! Rant + Analysis below!🚨

This final episode was a ride that I’m glad I could hop off of until season 4. In all honesty I felt that there were so many missing pieces that I’d hoped would somehow come together in the end, but clearly the show runners had a different idea. Now to be fair there were some highlights that moved me to the core, so without any delay, lets get to it!

For starters, when we are presented the display of Rachel and Gar genuinely happy to meet up with Donna, the entire room could hear my little sobs. However, this trope is one in particular that I believe the writers have battled with.

The characters should be allowed to express their emotionality, in fact their vulnerability allows for the audience to build a stronger connection to them, thus increasing their popularity amongst the fandom. Yet, we got to see little to no real reuniting with the team because of the non chronological scene cuts. But I digress…

Moving on to Kory being fed up with the constant disrespect from the team. Now although I loved her out pour of emotions, this scene was not only completely unnecessary, but I saw absolutely no use for it non whatsoever. Now let me explain why:

Sure, Conner destroyed Kom’s ship which was her only way back home to Tamaran, but why is she so chill about it? Why was Kory more upset about Conner’s selfishness then Kom, who according to common belief was SUPPOSED to be the villain this season? And let’s not forget that even after all of this they were still able to rebuild the ship a few minutes later… So what was the point again???

Speaking of disrespect, I have to discuss Dick’s blatant disrespect for Kory AGAIN in the scene below. This is another problem with the writing room seeing that there are barely any consistencies within the story! Even after he saw his child with this woman in last weeks episode, why is he now so comfortably hollering at her? Many argue that it was probably the stress that factored in to his behavior, but I call BS.

S1 Kory would have wasted absolutely no time putting him in his place and telling him off. This is the issue that I have with the unnecessary reconstruction of Kory’s character and storyline. Just look at the blue bolts. I can’t even fathom. The SFX was pretty cool though.

Then we have same old Dick being selfish and proving yet AGAIN that he is not fit to lead the Titans. I also have a bone to pick with this scene as well seeing that - Gar’s reaction to Jason had to be the most underwhelming one yet. It makes no sense, Gar went out on a manhunt for Jason, he knew that the murderous Redhood was not the person he wanted to be and still… chileeee let me move along.

I also understand that Tim is eager to become the next Robin, but why would Dick endanger his life by bringing him along on a mission with the knowledge that he has little to no experience in combat?

Then there’s another scene cut and Bruce is back in Gotham, to meet up with Dick and Jason and talk about who knows what. The only thing that I took away from this was that there will be no-more Red hood for now. This is a bittersweet feeling, but it had to be done… For the greater good. 🥴

Let’s talk about Dick’s community penis. He is in the business of wanting his cake to eat it too because why would he ask Barbara to accompany him back to San Fran with the team? AS IF HE DIDN’T JUST PICTURE HIS DAUGHTER WITH KORY?!?! I was ready to fight multiple people after this.

And alas we have finally reached the heartwarming portion of the episode, I was so happy to see domestic Dick Grayson back on my screen. This was literally all we have asked for from the beginning!

I definitely enjoyed the farewell hugs between Kory and Donna, it was so refreshing to see those two back together. I will not mention the wasted potential that was Conner and especially Kom.

I also have so many questions… Why did Donna return, setting the stage to become the new leader of Titans, only to leave right after reuniting with the team? And how is Tim going to be Robin without Batman? Why is Kom NICE! Um… And they just are not going to address Dick’s outburst earlier, ok.

But anyways, peep his hungry eyes for his future wife 🧐 she deserves better.

In all, the finale did not provide as much closure as I had hoped, I would’ve loved to see more family interactions between all of them, but thats exactly what season 4 is for! I am hopeful that Kory’s story will be properly developed and considering that the writers room are constantly on Twitter reading through the drags, I’d say they will be taking notes.

“It’s been sixteen years, brother.” Jazz sassed back, “And I’m still not sure about that-” She dodged her brother’s sloppy try at slapping with a yelp and threw back her own sloppy bitch slap.

Things dissolved quickly into a slap fight from there.

They lived in bump fuck nowhere Illinois and they had to get to Gotham. Jazz’s scholarship covered bus tickets. His scholarship didn’t because it was still a new thing on the G.A. and normally only the Gothamites bothered to risk applying because they were already in the city.

Extreme measures must be taken.

“Are you seriously flying all the way to-?”

“Jazz, please.”

“Jazz!” Danny whined.

“Okay! Ok!”

“I recognize looking up information on the richest man in Gotham might be useful, somehow, but don’t you think looking up the man’s children would be a bit stalkerish?”

“Danny, whatever post-traumatic stress disorder and trust issues Vlad has caused you-”

“Jazz that’s not it and you know-”

“-can be properly acknowledged if we-”

“Ok, fine! I won’t look them up!”

The number of heroes working in Loony town had been rising in the last years. Considering the amount of shit going on in the place, it was only logical. There was plenty of demand.

And there had always been Batman, which was the first one and worrying enough all on itself. himself.

Then again they had to deal with a psychotic clown throwing parties in the middle of Loony City so maybe they would be distracted enough to notice some cold spots. Hopefully.

Either way, Danny was not going to Gotham to play the hero role. He was going to take care of his sister and help her figure out a way to deal with the ghost zone better. Because dealing with ghosts was one thing, but humans? Humans were a whole other bag of worms that, if possible, he wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole

Gotham had enough heroes running around, they could deal with their city and Danny would focus on his sister.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Ugh.

He had little experience dealing with living human threats. Jazz assured him it would be similar on the core, but it was easier said than done.

As long as the Gothamites let them alone, it would be fine.

But he would not only need to worry about the citizens, he would have to worry about the freaking threats in the asylum. He would have to make some scouting when they got there and decide on a game plan.

He really hoped Gotham wasn’t an attractive place for natural portals, because that goddamn place would be haunted to hell and back by now if the city had anywhere near the same concentration of ectoplasm Amity Park had. There were just so many, many things that had gone down in that place.

“But It’s a goddamn island Jazz, what if they blow up the bridges again-!”

His sister had gone suddenly quiet, exchanging her —unsuccessful— attempts at calming him down for staring blankly into one of the walls of the room. Danny didn’t know what caused this reaction, and he didn’t care, as long as she kept quiet and just let him-

“D-Does that make Vlad the mom?” Jazz whispered weakly with all the air of someone who had just gotten a horrifying revelation.

Danny choked with his own tongue.

“JAZZ!!”

“I mean the modified thermos will take care of most of our things. The only part of the packing that was worrying me was the ghost tech, and, well-”

“That’s why you asked Iris for a bag, right?”

“How are you even going to reverse engineer that thing? It’s like a magicky ghost bag of wonders, I can’t even-”

“That’s for you to see and for me to keel over.“

“...I really hope you know that’s not how the phrase goes.”

‘Hope is the last thing to die’

That was the inscription carved on the jewelry box. Judging by the greek design it was probably Pandora’s doing, though the snowflakes mixed in with the flowers, leaves, and swirling lines carved along in the wood showed that Frostbite had contributed to the ‘packaging’ as well. At least this one didn’t have a bright green fanged skull on the lid.

Or contain all the world’s evils.

Jazz, who had been silently cursing him for a while now, dropped her moody mutterings when she saw him grab the box. So now they were going through the jewelry together.

“So what’s up with the ghost jewelry then?”

“These are the replacements for Pariah’s old artifacts.“

“The what-?” Jazz made a double-take.

“I told you about this Jazz, the Observants wanted me to wear the damn things. I didn’t want to. Bla Bla Bla.” He drawled on in a bored voice.

“Yeah, but I thought you just had refused to wear them.”

“God, I wish.” Danny sighed “We had to compromise.”

“Ok. So which ones-? She asked looking over his shoulder to the wood box with golden details on his hands.

“Well, this one is from the Far Frozen, they took care of the crown.” He said, showing her a pair of silvery wrap around earrings “The letter said they called them ‘Winter’s Song’” Danny finished with a hum on his voice.

“And these ones are from the Acropolis, which got the ring” He continued, grabbing two matching silvery bracelets from the box. Jazz made grabby hands at them and Danny passed them over. “Their name is-” Danny paused, pursing his lips and reaching for the letter on the bed to read the name again.

“-’The call of Elpis.’” He finally revealed, at Jazz’s raised eyebrow he continued. “Don’t ask me, there is nothing in here explaining and I have no idea.”

“Course you don’t”

“Hey!” He protested, but Jazz just continued examining the silver pieces. Danny deflated and joined her on the examination.

“Don’t know why they made them pairs, or if they are even silver but-”

“They are beautiful.” she finished.

He hummed in agreement

“Is that a cornucopia-?” Jazz asked, bringing one of the bracelets closer to her face.

“A what”

“It has a legend, the cornucopia was supposed to be a source of endless food and drinks-”

“Couldn’t they have sent us the original then-?”

Jazz glared

“I’m just saying-!”

“It’s a symbol of abundance, Danny.” She berated him “They are giving you their best wishes.”

Danny would have said that wishes didn’t feed him, but he was not in the mood to risk it.

“What about the others?” Jazz asked, referring to the other pieces that were still in the jewelry box.

“I suppose you could say they are protective charms, of a sort. Those are for the both of us. Mostly for you, tho. You are going to need them.”

Jazz accepted the answer, and thought to herself that she should have seen something like this coming from Danny, he had been worried about her since she shared her college plans after all.

What she wasn’t quite accepting was the lack of explanation on the names of her brother’s last new piece of jewelry.

She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and started browsing for answers.

The name just had to have some sort of meaning-

“I know. Is just-” He halted mid-sentence to purse his lips. A slight air of defeat entering his already slouched posture.

“Just what?”

"We could have used clockwork's help" The redhead raised an eyebrow at the response.

"Could we? I mean normally it takes a Long Time to just find his tower. And that's because it's you searching for it. No one would find him otherwise. Except for the Observants, they can do it faster, but I don’t think you are desperate enough. Would it be worth it tho-?

"No. Not like that." Danny interrupted her, not breaking his glare but voice in a complete deadpan. "We completely forgot about his gift."

His sister blinked a pair of times. Considering. And then her eyes got progressively bigger as she connected the dots.

"The time medallions" She gasped in realization.

Clockwork's time medallions.

The pair of time medallions he had gifted to her brother on his last deathday.

The ones that clockwork had refused to say what they were for but had probably been gifted to Danny with this exact purpose in mind.

Jazz groaned, facepalming and letting herself fall onto the bed to curl into a ball of red hair and utter defeat.

Danny, who hadn't moved an inch since the beginning of the conversation just groaned back in sympathy.

She rolled over onto her back and started to glare into the void too.

"I feel like ClockWork is laughing his ass off right now."

In the Latin American DC fandom, they call Damian ‘Bolita de Odio’ which translates to ‘tiny ball of hate’ but it sounds so cute on Spanish ‘bolita’ adhfkfhkadsljfladsk I love it when they call him that, it makes me squeal.

You can literally search on google: ‘bolita de odio’. And you will get Damian. This is so fuckin’ ridiculous and I love it.

Same with Jason but they call him: 'Palancas locas' which is 'crazy crowbars' because of- you know, how he died.

Hello,

I assure you I will be continuing the Hopes for a Bastard Series and probably the Universe in aspects; just not right now. I am still in a partial Quarantine where I reside, I cannot seem to get a job no matter what I apply to, I am going to school, and I am struggling not to sink into the ‘woes me’ mindset that I dug myself out of recently.

I can assure you that the Hopes for a Bastard Series is not discontinued, in fact it should be resumed in a month or two (I do have an original I’m pushing to write, edit, rewrite, and find an agent to publish).

However, I do feel I owe you guys an explanation for the long hold in place at this moment.

I draw a lot of inspiration from comics, a lot. And not just for casting who I’m putting where, but for the general plots for Hopes for a Bastard and the universe as a whole. Seems befitting to try to stick close to some of the core stories of the comics and throwing on my original twist to it. But there’s been a hiccup in that since DC Comics (being the morons they are) have decided to bypass just going down the toilet; jump starting with a dumpster fire, rolling down a hill, aimed for a train about to hit a nuclear reactor with almost any and all characters/storylines, I stopped reading comics. I didn’t want to add to my Quarantine woes, so I’ve put them aside a lot as of late. @chromium7sky, @ravenfan1242 & @bookaholicpt keep me in the loop as to the ongoings of DC Comics and it’s knowing what’s going on that makes it hard to want to write in this fandom right now.

Granted I do have the Hopes for a Bastard Series thoroughly plotted, casted, outlined, and partially written, I just lack the motivation to commit to it right now because of the state of the comics.

When I do return; because I will, I will be finishing To Infinity & Beyond!, then Run Away Bride, then Damned Prince of Gotham. After those are finished I will finish the series with On the Way to Hell... Wait! Wrong Turn!, Missing a Six, and Evil Beware! We Have Waffles!

Young Justice: what if timeskip, but from Wally's perspective

Lately I've fallen down the Talon!Dick rabbit hole, so here's my contribution to the fandom for your pain

I've seen a lot of speculation about Wally's eventual return to Young Justice. Perhaps he got displaced to a parallel Earth, perhaps he got absorbed into the Speed Force as pure energy... Whatever the plot device is, he manages to find his way home after a period of time.

Now, imagine he finds his way back to the Team base a few years down the line, and we find out as he finds out about everything that's transpired in his absence:

There's been a change in leadership and lineup for the YJ team. All the generation 2 (and onwards) members are alive, Blue Beetle hasn't become a supervillain, etc etc - basically the future Bart predicted hasn't come to pass, so at first, Wally thinks nothing particularly bad or irreversible happened while he was gone.

Jason is back too, which is a plus, but considering Wally's own semi-resurrection he's not exactly surprised by this turn of events.

The Batfamily is in shambles, the Bats aren't talking to each other, Again, which at first he attributes to Jason's dramatic return. Dick's nowhere to be seen, which is his first clue that something's wrong (Dick was always the glue to everything especially when it comes to his family), but he thinks, recalling the conflict that drove Dick to become Nightwing in the first place, there's still a plausible explanation around this.

Until he digs deeper, and finds Dick is gone for good. Someone, maybe Tim hacks Batman's database from their computer at the base, shows him that Dick is listed - properly, on record - as a missing person. And the irony is, he went missing just 6 months before his return - on the anniversary of Wally's not-death, pretty much. Dick went out to visit Wally's grave, and never came home. He never even made it to his 23rd birthday.

So we have Wally dealing with some sort of weird guilt, but also singlehandedly kicking everyone's ass into reopening the case (not that Batman ever stopped looking, but their inner circle in the Team had). But they had searched, long and hard, when Dick first went missing, and all those leads and dead ends back then are still dead ends now.

Just as Wally is about to run out of enthusiasm and pure spite, the answer brings itself right to him and Team's doorsteps. Artemis recognises the foe for the Gotham nursery rhyme she's heard and dismissed over the years - beware the Court of Owls, that watches all the time ... speak not a whispered word of them, or they'll send The Talon for your head - but Wally recognises the masked villain by his quadruple somersaults. He wants to shout his name, but the mysterious figure throws a knife right at his head...
