S3 EP9 (The Tholian Web) like Spiderman

The thoughts I had on this episode are really long so read it below

Get on with it:

- “Starship Defiant” ?!? Like DS9 ?!?

- Ghost ship

- The suits are goofy I’m sorry

- I like their little name tags on the suits tho

- Chekov looks really small in the suit, his hair looks good though

- wow… that’s just a massacre.. that’s really dark for Star Trek

- uh oh warped pov shot

- SULU IN CHARGE OF THE BRIDGE YEAHHH

- Why’re the suits so sparkly

- Kirk staying behind and Spock requesting to stay instead

- “The defiant just vanished.” Spock immediately tries to take control of the transporter while McCoy is shocked for a second and then goes to do the same

- “There’s nothing out there to grab ahold of and bring in. When that ship went it must’ve taken the captain with it.” The look Spock and McCoy share

- GET SPOCK A CHAIR! Whys he always got to bend over to work at his desk. Or get him one of those standing desks, I think he’d either like the concept or find it completely impractical

- Chekov goes feral. So feral he pushes Spock, pushes Sulu in his chair, Scotty tries to restrain him, McCoy and Scotty try to restrain him, and then Spock comes in with the nerve pinch

- I can’t

- Sulu lays Chekov’s head down so gently 🥺

- Noticing McCoy’s pinky ring :)))

- The way that they look at each other. I can’t explain it (edit: I think I was reading too much into it but have the clip anyway)

- “Spock… are you sure that Jim is still alive?” This is so vulnerable for McCoy, he wants to be reassured, because who is more sure than Spock? The answer is that Spock is not completely sure but he’s not willing to give up on Jim holding out. They’re both in the difficult spot of needing to get away for the safety of the ship but also not being able to leave Jim.

- McCoy in short sleeve shirt :) (imagine picking up a hail and you see this)

- Oh my god what the fuck is that? Are they… space spiders?

- omg hiii Chapel hiii

- Fucking help him Christine! Oh okay she tranquillized him

- “Well keep trying, Mr Scott.” He’s so desperate

- his boots

- I love their talk over comms, where they’re both trying to keep their cool with one another. There’s something about it that I just love (it’s around 20:00)

- HOW DID MCCOY GET TO THE BRIDGE SO FAST

- The Tholian ship fuckin drifting away

- They’re so tired of dealing with each other at this point. It’s like when your social battery is just gone. Maybe I’m projecting.

- Spock is losing it. Jim is gone. McCoy is upset (more upset than angry which is unusual). And now there’s space webbing.

- OH they’re holding a funeral… woah..

- Spock looks over to McCoy at one point and McCoy looks away.

- “We must accept the fact- that Captain Kirk.. is no longer alive.” This is such a terrible way to put it. He can’t admit, or at least can’t say Kirk is dead. It’s so horrible.

- That moment was really good until someone started yelling

- I wanna see more Sulu and Uhura interactions. I think they’d be really good friends

- The eye contact between Spock and McCoy oh my heart

- don’t fight please

- McCoy just asking Spock why he chose to stay when the answer is so damn obvious, ‘it’s what Jim would do, he would stay for me.’ And the destroying the Tholian ship part? It’s because Spock will just blow shit up

- “Bones, Spock, since you are playing this tape we will assume that I am dead, and the tactical situation is critical, and both of you are locked in mortal combat.” They are in mortal combat but with each other.. oh sorry that’s probably what Kirk meant

- Kirk is just like, ‘be yourselves, get along, Spock’s in charge.’

- “you might find that he is capable of human insight, and human error.” As Kirk says this Spock’s mouth slightly falls open

- “…. Spock I uh.. I’m sorry.” Don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry

- “It does hurt, doesn’t it?” “What would you have me say, Doctor?”

- I got Uhura jump scared

- THE CAPTAIN IN THE MIRROR LMAO

- THE TRANSPARENT KIRK JUST DISAPEARS. Doesn’t even cut away he just blinks out of existence right in engineering

- “In critical moments men sometimes see exactly what they wish to see.” “Do you suppose they’re seeing Jim because they’ve lost confidence in you?” Spock has to take a second after that one. He has to remind himself they’re trying to be friendly “I was merely stating a fact, doctor.”

- MCCOY SWIVELS THE CHAIR

- second McCoy apology of the episode

- “I understand, Doctor. I’m sure the captain would simply have said, ‘forget it, Bones.’” I thought they were gonna hug but no, McCoy’s just fainting. Can we talk about that line? This moment? The actual hurt in my heart. Spock is the only other one now who has called him Bones even if it was just quoting Kirk

- Kirk! The fuck are you doing?

- He’s mouthing Bones and Spock I think

- They finally get to have a drink together :)

- Chekov’s back baby!

- Well the ship disappeared and the screen went black. Imagine they just ended the episode like that?

- I think that Spock has a soft spot for Chekov

- I swear in some of these scenes where they just stare at each other, it was originally written that they share a passionate kiss.

- Kirk: And no problems between you?

Spock: None worth reporting, captain

Kirk: Try me

Spock: Hmmm.. only such minor disturbances as are inevitable when humans are involved

Kirk: Which humans, Mr Spock?

McCoy: Oh, he means that when humans become involved with Vulcans, Jim

Kirk: Ah yes, I understand

Chekov gives a little head shake at their antics. This is the most expressive Spock has been in awhile (picture is as he’s going ‘hmmm’)

- Why are they lying about seeing the orders? Do they just not want to admit they needed his help? Also Spock doesn’t fully lie here! He just mumbles off the end of his sentence. McCoy does most of the lying. They work so well together.

- McCoy goes to look at Kirk right at the end and sees Kirk looking at him so he quickly looks away.

I had so many thoughts on this one. Holy shit.

Lamplight AU

What is Lamplight? Short answer, a DnD/Fantasy Third/Last Life Renchanting AU!

Long answer, here’s 20 Questions, the ficlet meant to introduce the concept.

Medium answer, Ren is a powerful god stuck in the form of living fire. Martyn is his sole follower. Martyn and Ren help free one another from imprisonment by the Watchers and are now traveling the world on a two-man adventure of fond companionship and occasional arson.

This AU has been written as I feel like it with absolutely no regard for chronology. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask! I also have a tag for it, “lamplight au,” which is where any writing, asks, or art go.

I’ll update this post with writing and art as it happens. Writing is organized chronologically, art is organized by artist and as it’s posted.

This AU was planned with the help of @/unexpectedly-haunted, whose designs for Martyn and Ren are linked at the start of the art section!

The ot3 🥰 Thank you so much for asking! I’m not sure they have a ship name, but my tag for them is “#ot3: never beating those favoritism allegations” because Skinner is never beating those favoritism allegations lmao

I think they’re all snugglers. Fox and Dana have proven time and time again throughout the show that they like curling up together and Walter, in my opinion, is HELLA touch starved. They like to sleep in the same bed as often as they can. As for regular sleeping arrangements, I think they would shake it up but I love to write Walter as the monkey in the middle 🥰 as a treat 💖 I don’t think they like to sleep alone but sometimes it’s necessary when Walter (or any of them, really) has PTSD induced nightmares.

Canonly, this is definitely a Dana thing. She loves bringing them to family stuff and the family adores the boys as much as she does. (I actually think Bill would genuinely like Walter while hating Fox lmao.) BUT I love the idea of Walter having a big family that’s constantly holding events and gatherings but Walter is the stick in the mud 😂 He’s grumpy and everyone else is walking sunshine—and naturally they adore Fox and Dana.

Fox and Dana do NOT give a fuck when it comes to pda. The entirety of the FBI, Dana’s mama, and God could be watching them and those two would not care. They’ll do as they please and that generally means comforting and showing each other love. Walter, on the other hand, is not a pda man 😂 Dude kept all his relationships a secret. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love them, he’s just very uncomfortable with people knowing his private business. He also uses it as a weapon. If Fox misbehaves and puts his life at risk, then Walter isn’t kissing that fool again until he learns not to give him and Dana a heart attack. Fox is the kisser. On the lips. On the forehead. On the neck or wrist or shoulder. Anything he can reach. He likes to pair it with holding their hands, one or both. He wants them to know how much he adores them. Dana likes to hold them and touch them. Her fingers combing through Fox’s hair. Her fingers rubbing Walter’s shoulders and roaming down his back. Touching their faces. Pulling them into her arms 🥰 Walter is the word guy. He’s pledged his heart and soul to them too many times on the show for me to disregard it 😵‍💫 (Season 11 “Kitten” episode, you mean everything to me.) He’s such a quiet guy that half the time he surprises them with sweet words from his deep voice. It’s always praise and awe he shares with them, genuine thoughts that make Fox and Dana burn bright red. He doesn’t really think about what his words do to them. He tells them because it’s the truth. Doesn’t realize it makes them want to jump his bones lmao

I do! and I'm very fast at it lmao. I try to answer every comment as I really appreciate people using their time to leave commentary! sadly i am not good at coming up with good responses as I'm usually just overwhelmed by how kind every comment is

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I would say It's called: Free fall, just because I did let a lot open to interpretation, I think all my fics have a closed ending or something that lets you know I will go back to them. This one is very much open, None of us knows what happened to Toto, and I'm not sure if i was obvious enough highlighting that Lewis was god. Aside from that maybe Honey please try to love me as it is an unfinished work that started and ended with a break up

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Either I don’t know how not to love you [And i'm fine being ignorant] or A Fever You Learn To Live With (Nico/Jenson) The first one because its a getting together and its just soft, the second one is an established couple coming to terms with stuff and accepting mortality, it was cute

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not so far! all my comments are super kind and i love each one of them

I feel like it needs to be obvious, or have an obvious meaning. I usually end up finding it a bit problematic for readers so never do it? (i did it once for french but it wasn't that much)

This is definitely more from Lucifer’s perspective. In-game he definitely doesn’t like to be vulnerable, which is an issue between him and Cinna (a huge issue, frankly). He gets better with each season so I suppose this would be the aspect of him showing affection more clearly over time.

Heart Attack - Demi Lovato

Definitely from Mammon’s perspective lmao. Mammon is a tsundere with MC in-game but has been described as basically a sex god in the past so he clearly only acts ridiculous when he likes someone (and has conflicting feelings) like he seems to in game. He wants to impress them, but kind of makes a fool of himself in the process quite often. Denying his feelings (whether because that’s just how he processes romantic feelings or because of fear of another Lilith-like event) is his go-to, though he is well aware he is in love. He wants Cinna to say something first, but they don’t fall in love nearly as fast as he does. Mammon’s frustration is real. (Sorry Mammon.)

Leviathan🧡

Malfunction - Steam Powered Giraffe

There’s literally no escaping anxiety for either of these two, but as Cinna is better learning to take care of themself, Levi is being taken into this as well (this goes for Barbatos and Asmodeus too, frankly, but this section isn’t about them). Cinna won’t let Levi get away with negative self-talk, and they expect him to call them out when they slip up as well. Accepting their own issues is key here, and Cinna is dragging Levi kicking and screaming if they have to at a certain point tbh.

Satan💚

Home - Cavetown

Both perspectives, I think. Satan and Cinna bond a lot after Cinna learns to adjust to his wrath, and Cinna confides in him about their mental illness/trauma, gender dysphoria, and feeling broken before anyone else. They both share conflicting feelings towards Lucifer, and have identity issues (for different reasons of course). Of course, they also share a love of literature and cats (and vengeance). They feel they can rely on each other, even if at first Cinna is a bit on edge with Satan. It’s a bit surprising (or perhaps not) that Asmodeus was the first to be romantically involved with Cinna.

Boys Like You - Dodie

This is from both sides. Asmodeus definitely would believe Cinna is only interested because of his status of avatar of lust, and Cinna definitely would think Asmodeus is only interested because they’re an easy target (in the beginning of their relationship). They would be sexually involved first before Cinna ends up realizing they actually like Asmodeus romantically. It’s especially a slow burn romantically since sexual and romantic attraction aren’t necessarily related for either of them (plus it seems like Asmodeus isn’t even used to someone being genuinely interested in him).

These two aren’t particularly close, but Beel becomes a safe space for Cinna nonetheless. They can hang out in company and Cinna might teach Beel cute little songs (like this one haha) once they’re comfortable enough.

Both sides…? Mostly Cinna considering lesson 16. They end up being unable to stand Belphegor no matter how hard they try, though.

From Diavolo’s perspective. By season 3, Cinna doesn’t really have any romantic interest in him at all, so his confession is… rejected, unfortunately. Dia is constantly watching them be involved with others, even his butler, but they won’t give him that kind of love. Of course, Cinna wants to be his friend, so there’s that!

Barbatos🖤

Dasher - Gerard Way (feat. Lydia Night)

Both sides but mostly from Barbatos’ perspective. Wanting attention, wanting the love that Cinna seems to have, but unable to get himself to grasp it (at first). They definitely are slow burn altogether since Cinna gets super nervous about Barbatos, and Barbatos isn’t sure how Cinna feels. They both think about each other a lot until they end up actually addressing their feelings for each other, which ends up becoming an improvement for both of them.

Simeon🤍

Stiff Kittens - Blaqk Audio

This is kinda weird tbh…? It’s like a push and pull of both perspectives. Lesson 16 and lesson 38 (& 75) make them both change for better or worse, and as time goes on they feel different but intertwined with each other all the same. They become closer through their respective hurdles and have in some ways abandoned their expectations given by each other as well as those surrounding them. Their love remains despite it all.

Solomon🤎

Build a Little World with Me - Laura Shigihara

Both perspectives…? Probably more Solomon. They both end up closer because they’re humans, but also Cinna becoming Solomon’s apprentice. With the fact that Cinna is mortal (for now…), Solomon has to accept they are temporary in his life. He feels happier having someone in his life for genuine companionship, and Cinna loves his company. Solomon’s romantic feelings are on the back burner because of Cinna’s mortality (and apparent lack of romantic interest in him).

Mephistopheles💟

Under My Skin - Jukebox The Ghost

They probably really piss off each other at first, not gonna lie. His pride is somehow not worse than Lucifer’s but it’s a whole different kind of pride and it makes Cinna fucking apeshit. They get to know him better and eventually start to like him quite a bit, but Mephisto seems indifferent towards them at best.

Raphael💔

The Piano Duet - Danny Elfman

I really wanted to keep them all with lyrics but honestly I think this fits Raphael and Cinna well. Raphael slowly letting Cinna in, getting comfortable with them, and eventually they’re romantically involved (probably past season 4). Bonding over small things and admiring each other in small ways until it’s possibly something more.

She’s so Mean - Matchbox Twenty

I literally had to rely on the scraps of Thirteen they gave us in season four and my headcanons for this decision. She had the least amount of screentime of the new three ugh. Anyways, I feel like this fits Cinna and Thirteen! Thirteen is a bit sassy and always making traps and trying to kill Solomon. Cinna frankly just finds her interesting honestly. They might get involved at some point but in-game stuff isn’t helping a lot here.

Killer Queen - a few things before we start

hi. I just wanted to say a few things about this story that you should probably know beforehand so I don't have to add a million things in the author's note or do the classic Clunky Exposition and Explanation thing. none of these are spoilers.

first of all, the first few chapters of this are shit. they just are. I was quite young when I started writing this and my skills were not exactly fully-formed. I just wanted to say this so you don't start reading it, go what the fuck this is shit (I do the same if I have to look back it's embarrassing), and stop reading. please just bear with them and then you'll get to the good shit. I do intend to rewrite them but fuck knows when that will be.

UPDATE 08/07/22: I am in the process of going back, rewriting, fixing things, changing things, etc. but I will be doing it in bits so I apologise for any inconsistencies with the story between now and when I finish changing what needs to be changed.

please for the love of christ take the things that happen in this fic with a grain of fucking salt. people are not perfect and neither are these characters. they are going to fuck up and do questionable things and it might not get addressed until much later on. just trust that if something concerning happens I will explore it properly at some point.

while im on this topic, I need to mention that they have sex. yes they're 15 at the start of this fic. yes that is a bit weird. yes I am going to explore this later on as carefully as I can. yes I myself am at that age so no im not sexualising teenagers. no there is no smut in this at all. once again just bear with me here.

it swears. a lot. I don't censor cos who can be arsed realistically.

most if not all of the main ships in this fandom (im talking wolfstar, dorlene, jily/flowerpott) will happen they're just gonna take a while to get going. just trust the process and all that jazz. this isn't a spoiler its literally in the tags lmao.

most of the characters are poc. deal with it lmao. some of yous fancasts are so white its boring. (ruth is jamaican, james is desi, sirius is chinese, remus is ugandan-jewish and welsh, dorcas is somali and lily is lebanese)

I know the sirius is east asian headcanon is controversial so I'll change it if anyone feels uncomfortable with it. the only reason im keeping it is that a lot of people who actually are east asian in this fandom like it (the first time I heard of it was from ashes-and-ashes on tumblr who is east asian herself).

james also has adhd. it's a pre-established thing, it's not really a plot line at all so it'll only get brought up when it's relevant, just thought I'd say now so no one's confused as I have no idea when it'll get explicitly mentioned or talked about.

this fic plays into a few stereotypes that I wasn't aware of until long after I created the plot points. the main one being the fact that ruth is black and her father isn't around. I was literally 11 when I made this up and I had no idea this stereotype existed. however now I know better (thank fuck). im not going to change it for the only reason that it's for the plot (its actually quite important but more on that later). so im just going to apologise for that in advance.

I wanted to make this as canon as possible when I first started this, but now I don't care. I am throwing all caution to the wind and letting you know now: THEY DO NOT DIE AT THE END this is going to have a happy ending or so help me god

also The Prank doesn't happen. why? I don't like it, it feels horrifically out of character and this is my story next question

The sound of his yelp stole your attention from your drafts.

"Forgot you were here," Steven laughs apologetically, fidgeting with the corner of the page he was reading. "Sorry."

He was sat at his desk, reading glasses low on his nose and desk lamp bright over the pages that discussed Egyptian gods. Today, it was less about keeping his memory sharp and more about maintaining a routine, considering it's been some days past since you two became an item and this was the longest you've stayed at his flat.

When he had started reading, his slouched shoulders were tight. A while later, from your seat on his bed, you recognized the shine of familiarity in his eyes, and he relaxed. When he spirals into the lore like this, Steven looked especially attractive - whether he was sharing to you or keeping to himself. Since he fell into his zone, you fell into yours, escaping into your sequences and dialogue after a rather draining day.

"I'm choosing to think of it as you becoming more comfortable with my presence." Steven's soft smile made something inside you swell with pride. "If you want, I can sit with you?"

"What about...?" he pointed vaguely to your work, and you gave a noncommittal shrug, already rising to your feet. The wooden floor bit the skin of your bare feet for a brief moment. "Alright. Let me get a chair."

"No, I got it." you knew what it was like to be thrown off rhythm. You were already eating away at his time.

"Allow me. Please." He stood so quickly and planted another chair beside his own. Then, he offered a gallant hand. "My lady."

"My love." you giggle fondly, accepting his hand. Steven guided you to your seat, and was just in time to take his place beside you when he noticed your expression change.

You could be with someone better. A protector, a defender of everything that involved you without question or reluctance. Not someone who was picked on by his boss and had more passion for Egyptology than everyone in that museum put together (not that there was much to compare to).

The words were spoken by the voices that filled your ears for most of today. Your folks disapproved of Steven, and you waited for them to say it word for word in order to justify the revenge you'd take in his name.

Steven closely, patiently watched you even when your eyes met his. "Hello."

I love you.

The unsaid words filled the space between you and him as he asks. "What is it?"

"They... they don't like you." kiss him, he's your boyfriend now anyway. No. Focus. "They struggle to understand why I'm with you. Well, we already talked about this, but--"

"We could stand to talk about it more. We're together."

Good God, when he's so sure of himself, you want to either lie down or fall on all fours.

To get back at him, you looked into his eyes and stared at his lips for a while longer. "They're not in love with you. I am."

Even as he blushed, Steven didn't look away. He faced you fully, leaning an arm on the backs of your chairs before placing his head on his arm. His fingers played with your let down hair. "I understand them, love. I can hardly believe it myself."

You laugh, rolling your eyes. "But, are you? Comfortable with me, I mean?"

Steven studied your features with that admiration and thoughtfulness you still aimed to deserve. "I want to be."

"Same. Between the home I was born into, and the home I choose: you," you booped his nose with yours, and he grinned, giggling. He spoke like that when he tried to flirt. "You make me feel good simply by reading in silence. If we're going to talk about anything, let's talk about that, ha?"

Steven laughed. "You're literally the most gorgeous human being I've ever seen and-and met."

"And is now dating."

"And is now dating!" he exclaims, waving at the absurdity of the sentence. "You can't possibly be upset. Everyone can dream of having a crumb of the power you have over me."

In a sudden moment of ego, you shrug. "I'll allow it."

You occupy the remaining space on his desk, dipping your face into your crossed arms. A sigh of contentment slipped away from you, followed by Steven's warm hand massaging your shoulder.

His touch lifts after a while. When the sound of flipping pages filled your shared space, your eyes fluttered shut, feet reaching for his under the table. Steven hooked an instep around your heel, softly tugging you close.

This position would hurt you when you wake up, but you always hurt anyway. Steven is right here, anyway.

but she goes back and forth to the crux to get her things and take care of business and such. her crew probably loves her partner so they have things for bei to bring back <3

bei doesn’t even leave her partner’s town but she’s got sango pearls, cecilias, qingxin, cor lapis jewelry, dendrobiums (even though those are like. blood flowers. they’re pretty it’s fine) and many many fruits

xiangling comes by with food for bei and co and sticks around to hear beidou telling her partner stories about her time at sea

beidou is. she’s so buff okay. she carries her partner in and out of the room and to the living room or kitchen or brings everything to her partner and you can see how defined her muscles are bye i’m in love with her

we already know bei learned to cook a little bit from xiangling but beidou is absolutely learning to cook more while her partner is sick. xiangling is there giving her cooking lessons while beidou’s partner watches <3 bei with that look of concentration and she’s so quick with the knives too i’m- okay but her spoonfeeding her partner?? *chef’s kiss* ;)

beidou puts too much pepper in a dish and it deffo clears sinuses LMAO but she tried and it actually does taste very good if you can handle your spice 🤷‍♀️ i cannot so find me with a gallon of milk later

n e ways beidou cuddles her partner to sleep and falls asleep as soon as she knows they’re resting <3 many cuddles and many kisses, even if they insist not to because cooties will get u sick bei 🥺

visits bubu’s pharmacy to get her partner’s medicine herself but also has remedies from other places too! zhongli deffo helps her with some other gifts for convalescents so it’s historically, traditionally and socially acceptable

kazuha

is so worried omg

wherever his ass is, he’s going to his partner as soon as he finds out they’re sick. he’s so frowny and worried it’s almost cute but also,,,kazu it’s a cold, it’s FINE

he goes to collect qingxin and sweet flowers and stuff himself and makes his own poultices and soups and such <3

he shows up at his partner’s home with arms and buckets of flowers and herbs as soon as he possibly can. bei understands if he has to go tho, she gives him leave uwu

makes his partner soup and dried fish and gives them many smooches <3 they are not allowed out of bed LOL they just have to stay there and wait for him to dote on them

many many cuddles and smooches. he plays leaves and grass and recites poems for them he’s so cute <3 sigh, this man plays grass and i’m out here simping

also comes bearing gifts from wherever he was last tho. if he was on the crux, he’s probably got gifts from beidou and the crew even if they don’t really know kazu’s partner, they just know he’s happy and that’s what matters. if he’s not on the crux, his boss probably gives him leave and a gift or smth even if it’s just like a tea or a bottle of wine or smth

he’ll cuddle and be a blanket. but he’s also got fabrics that beidou picked up in inazuma and he uses that as a blanket for his partner <3

will tell his s/o stories of his childhood, his time wandering, his time with the crew, his work. anything they want to know or have questions about, he’ll tell them.

forehead kisses, temple kisses, holding his partner’s hand and pressing a kiss to the back of their hand ugh i love him

deffo gets sick because he can’t deny his partner smooches on the lips smh. and then it’s his partner’s turn to play nursemaid

the crew from the crux probably drops by to check on kazoo man and co. they bring some regional delicacies and blankets and their best cold remedies with a slap on the back for kazu and a gentler pat for his partner. like w ningguang’s partner, bei probably gives kazu’s s/o a hearty slap but it’s not enough to hurt them

amber

she’s so worried she’s such a sweetie omg

she goes to her partner immediately and fusses over them before they have to gently tell her that they’re fine

she goes to collect sweet flowers and stuff and goes to ohm, albedo and barbara for help making medicines and such

doesn’t want to leave her duties unattended to but jean also knows that amber wants to be with her s/o so she tells amber that she has fewer duties for her <3

jean tells kaeya to go make sure amber is doing okay and doesn’t need help or anything so he drags ohm, diluc, albedo and lisa too LOL

lisa was planning on going anyway, she just used diluc to carry her books w this opportunity <3 albedo is just treating amber’s partner w meds and potions and things and lisa takes a peek at that too

she’s so sad she doesn’t have ohm’s super cold skin so she can’t be a human cooling pack for her partner </3 but she gives them many smooches on cheeks and foreheads and temples

barely resists giving her partner kisses on the lips bc she still wants to go to work but also wants to give her partner what they need and sigh. it’s a struggle for amber

she wears pajamas and cuddles with her s/o <3

cooks her partner some (fully cooked!!) meals, not her specialty steak. but she makes soup and goes to good hunter and gets good hot food there too

keqing

wants to take some time off to help her partner feel better but also doesn’t want to leave work. ningguang probably sends her home at some point because she’s fretting and working and stop feeling so bad keqing, you have sick days

she still goes to work but she’s just taking marginally shorter days sigh, she goes home early instead but brings work home so she can do it while sitting with her partner

wears leisure clothes when at home with her partner but the fact that she has clothes she doesn’t use for work is shocking LMAO the cat ears stay tho ;) catgirl always

ganyu comes by with keqing’s work, some wanmin takeout and a card and gift for her partner <3

xiangling hears that keqing is home with her partner while they’re sick and brings food over to keqing’s. she’s got extra golden shrimp balls for keqing. AND AGAIN. GUOBA CUDDLES ❤️❤️❤️

keqing feels so bad for not doing as much work, she’s making herself almost as sick as her partner </3

ningguang comes over one night with beidou while keqing is doing work in bed while her partner is resting and she sees keqing stressed as all hell. she just gives keqing some food and tells her to actually rest. soft!ning and bei being moms god i love them

okay but keqing tucking her partner in with a sweet kiss before retreating to her work in the corner, the lamps turned to the lowest they can possibly be because keqing refuses to leave her beloved but can’t not do work

keqing trying to cook food for her partner that isn’t meant specifically for survival but for taste is so cute. she’s trying to cook golden shrimp balls and soup and stuff and she’s not bad at it! she took a single night of giving her s/o hot tea and some wanmin soup before she learned the whole cookbook so she can be the one to cook for them <3

venti

he brings his partner wine u cannot tell me otherwise

he goes to diluc’s. not the tavern but straight up dawn winery and asks diluc if he can get a bottle of wine for his s/o and please please please he’ll go fight some of those slimes for you, please? with the big 🥺 and staying outside diluc’s window to beg bye

diluc just gives him the wine with a glare but won’t make venti do the commission <3 venti legit says “thank barbatos” and gives diluc an ~ehe~ before he gets ready to glide away. he turns around and asks diluc if he’s sure he can’t do the comm but diluc just glares at him all broody~

diluc comes by to check on venti’s partner too bc where does venti live- venti is just camping out at his partner’s place for now and feeding them and giving them wine and diluc just kinda goes a little pink but glares while he says “get well soon” and leaves a windwheel aster from near the winery

venti makes soup and many vegetable/fruity foods because “they’re good for you! have some wine with that ehe”

jean comes by at some point with barbara to check on venti and co. they’ve got other foods and some hydro healing for venti’s partner <3

ohm comes over to see his friend and brings him some medicines, food and wine. he gets to witness the anemo god get all soft and squooshy for his s/o it’s so sweet

he uses anemo to entertain his partner with some gentle breezes playing through leaves <3 but he also plays his lyre for them and gives them smooches in between and during songs because he’s a god ofc he isn’t gonna get sick, pay the bard with kisses. and where’s his gratuity :( 😗

he doesn’t read to his s/o but he does tell them stories with a musical accompaniment. sometimes his partner will fall asleep so he just smiles so softly and tucks them in and continues playing his lyre at the window while they sleep <3

but also brushing his partner’s hair back and giving them a kiss on the forehead please i love my beloved kinnie

n e ways venti forehead smooches and playing the lyre for his s/o <3 no cough meds ehe, just dandelion wine and whatever ohm gave him (that was, in fact, the cough medicine)

scaramouche

bro this dude looks like he CANNOT be assed but he really cares <3<3

his work schedule doesn’t change but he’s going to his s/o’s home super often with soup and food and medicine and extra blankets

even to his partner, scara looks broody but he always looks like that LOL

tartaglia finds out where scara is going and he brings food and toys and stuff too <3 scara later has to read one of the kids books tartaglia brought and he refuses to voices but it’s very sweet anyway

scara probably asks sandrone if his doctor brother can get him some good cold medicine but would never admit that he asked ohm for help LOL. ohm shows up anyway and finds out <3

can and will cook soup but that’s all you’re getting from him. the takeout he brought is most definitely not something he made, no sir’am he would never do something as soft as cook for them. soup doesn’t count, it’s oboiling water with some added flavor, shut up tartagalicious he’s not soft

will give his partner kisses only after he thinks they’re asleep. refuses to give them any affection besides a headpat or two and maybe one hug when he shows real concern. his partner isn’t quite yet asleep one time and then feigns sleeping when they hear scara’s whispered “i love you” and he presses a kiss to their forehead 🥺❤️

he takes off his hat inside the house but will go around with a blanket around his shoulders to mock his partner smh. the blanket is on his head like a hood and he fake sniffles with an almost derisive laugh but he gives his partner a real smile at the end <3

9/10 times will never admit that he’s soft unless it’s a Very Serious Moment but he’s a squishy dood for his s/o and his s/o only

will not read or sing to his partner but he’ll sorta cuddle if they ask very nicely and many times. it’s just kind of him sitting next to them and they kind of have to muzzle before he’ll move his arm for his own comfort LMAO

will bring his partner gifts and food, a few flowers but he’ll just claim he’s delivering it from someone else with a look of fake disgust </3 maybe like two of those are actually from other ppl and not him

when his partner is actually feeling really sick, he won’t be a big smol meanie and he actually looks so concerned~ his partner means a lot to him and he doesn’t want them to feel sick or in pain so he’ll cuddle them unprompted and rub their back, run his hand thru their hair, soft forehead and temple kisses and “i’m here, baby” and “i love you” and falling asleep with his partner tucked under his chin <3 he’s actually so sweet bye 😭

thoma feels so bad when his partner is sick. it isn’t even his fault but he feels so bad because he wants to protect them, even from tiny little germs 😭 i’m sorry u can’t be my immune system thoma it’s FINE

he asks to take off work and ayaka just kinda sighs but smiles and waves a hand to dismiss him bc yes ofc you can, simp

ayato just laughs when he sees this LMAO BYE

thoma’s partner stays at his home, in his bed or a guest room (idk if he has his own place or stays w the kamisatos as their literal live-in maid but anyway)

his partner gets his care, any doctors or caretakers around ritou, the medic from the crux, the kamisato family doctor- this man is using some of his favors for medicine and then cuddling his s/o, ugh i want to date him sm

both kamisatos come by with some food for thoma and co but poor ayato can’t even keep his grin contained, poor thoma is conditioned to be nervous ab what ayato feeds him LOL

he’s cooking for his partner, legit gives them a list of options and an “anything you want, my love?”

cuddles his s/o even tho they might protest but it takes like 0.2 seconds to stop protesting bc that man is comfy

tells his partner stories about what it was like back home in mondstadt and his journey to inazuma and why he’s there as well as his stories about all the different kinds of people he’s met

taroumaru coming w kozue to the kamisato estate to get some hot tea to thoma 🥺 and the cuddles and nuzzles from this great doggo for thoma before he turns to his partner too 😭 straight up jumps in the bed and licks their faces a little before nuzzling in for a hug

n e way thoma gives a lot of hugs and kisses and cuddles and i think he’s hella touchy-feely and misses home and treasures his partner even more because of it

WWDITS fic recs- 2!

I missed a couple in my first post and I’ve also read quite a few more since then and you know what, I think it’s worth it to promote all these authors’ work! Evidently I’m still afflicted with these brain worms so why not use them to make some writers and readers happy. I see a lot of people being like “I need fic of this or that” and I’m like aaaahhh it exists! So here are my recs, once again, for the fics that I personally thought were either well-written or well-characterized or both.

(again: tagging the authors whose Tumblr accounts I can find so that you can let me know if you want to be removed from the post and I’ll edit you out)

i lied about the whales by morian ( @nonagethimus on here) FREAKING SLAPS... you want communication issues, this is the one to read. This is a “what if Nandor and Guillermo got to go on their road trip after all” fic. Very, very good content

Living in an Age That Calls Darkness Light by holograms ( @acanofpeaches on here) is one that I forgot last time but it’s so so so good. Post-The Wellness Center fic that really delves into the mental health parts. TW for discussions of eating disorders (but, you know, with like, blood, not food, obviously)

come and break me down by inkstainedwretch is INSANELY good. This one’s like 90% a sex scene so obviously avoid if you don’t want to read a sex scene. But oh my god the writing. The characterization. It’s a Nandermo road trip fic featuring a “oh no I hope you don’t show me how good you are at killing vampires” moment lmao please read it

Uncle Afanas by letek is for the Colin Robinson fans out there, as well as the Baron/Sire fans. It’s about the Baron and the Sire babysitting kid Colin Robinson! hello! it’s adorable! It’s really well written too!

Oh wait almost forgot to rec MY new fic, Vampire Vignettes, by ME, which is my speculations about the end of season 4. Nandor and Guillermo are navigating their relationship awkwardly, Nadja and Laszlo are doing the same, and Colin Robinson is a very annoying teenager. Featuring Colin using fidget spinners to drain people and Nandor trying his hardest to be affectionate

Guillermo Has a Secret, Nandor Suspects Cats, and Laszlo and Nadja Couldn’t Give a Fuck, Except That They Do by cosmicocean is a delight. Basically just the vampires speculating about Guillermo and being adorable and stupid. Ft. accidental baby acquisition, which normally I’m like eh about but it’s sweet here

Ship to wreck by nea9 is FANTASTIC!!! If you want Nadja and Guillermo bonding on the sea voyage, please read this! The emotional poignancy of both of them talking about their lives and emotions is so much. Very beautifully written and wonderful.

I design disasters by lizluz ( @michshlo on here) is beautiful. A simple beautiful fic about Nandor and Guillermo confessing their feelings after returning to Staten Island.

Time Off by colormehappy is another simple, sweet fic about Guillermo about 3 years into his familiar service taking the week off to get top surgery, and just the basic life complications around that. Very fluffy, very nice.

Apologize Like You Mean It by DarklyGleaming is a Nadja/Laszlo smut fic essentially which gets into their emotions as well, right after the “Witches” episode about both of them being sad about the Lilith situation and then having makeup sex. It’s very lovely and good.

Coming Up Aces by Heather N is a fun, short crack fic about Colin Robinson taking Laszlo and Nadja to what they think is “a sexual meetup” but is actually an asexual meetup and they just fully don’t get it.

you can run away with me anytime you want by partiallyobscure ( @partiallyobscure on here) is a solidly good Nandermo road trip fic if you are looking for one of those.

Transcript of a Lost Tape by selfindulgences is a fun movie-crossover one written in script format that addresses the plot hole of “if the sire thing is true, then how come Deacon didn’t die when Petyr died in the movie” in a funny cute way

if it was with you by milesofregrets is a rewrite of the s3 finale fight scene that delves more into Nandor’s vampire-related existential crisis and ends with confessing feelings

I’m classifying the rest of these as “miscellaneous Nandor/Guillermo fluff” because they are basically all fluff without plot

something here will eventually have to explode by returnsandreturns ( @returnsandreturns on here) is a fic about Guillermo muttering about his feelings under his breath because he assumes Nandor isn’t listening, and then finding out Nandor is listening. And yes those feelings include murder feelings, because you know I love to see Guillermo do murders

swim to me; let me enfold you by singing_to_shipwreck is an utterly gorgeous one about Guillermo comforting Nandor after a bad date

Strange Effect by lauze is more of a PWP, so again, avoid if you don’t want to read a sex scene, but it’s very fluffy. Basically just the two of them randomly deciding to hook up but there’s feelings and it’s very sweet

Slip by Nandors Wizard Hat (enter_the_gloaming) is an accidental love confession fic, which also interestingly starts with Nandor being in a mood because one of his ex-wives had been turned into a vampire and showed up

A Soft Touch by tired_teeth is a lovely short one about Guillermo figuring out how to show affection

Punch Drunk Love by Doctorinblue is one about affectionate-drunk Nandor

That’s it for now! Let’s all pray this is the last one I make lmao, not because there won’t be more lovely fics written (I’m sure there will be) but because I hope to heal from my WWDITS brain-rot very soon
