The ultimate reference sheets for all of Vash's outfits in Trigun maximum (with commentaries)

IT IS DONE. I'M FREE. Now I can forget all about Trimax and draw Trigun stampede designs only hahaha (just kidding I have things for Trimax on the stove).

Trigun bookclub was an awesome initiative, I loved the manga with my all heart and wanted to honor Nightow's designs ;w; I also wanted to help my fellow artists with references for Vash's clothes because DEAR GOD it's difficult to understand how the hell he dresses himself in the morning. I have a lot of fun dressing and undressing him like a barbie doll. My hyperfixation is completely healthy.

I put a "read more" section to avoid spoilers :) !

The July coat

The very first coat in Trigun chronology and the one he wores during the destruction of July ! There is not a lot of panels to take references but I tried to stay as close as possible to the manga. I don't know what number of prosthesis he had before but let name this one Prosthesis 1.

Scars map

Next, nakey Vash ! There's A LOT of changes between one panel to another. Scars changes places and forms panel to panel and the design evolved from the first chapters of Trigun, the time we see him naked as Eriks and his undressed state while he was a prisoner on the Ark. I drew the scars that appeared more than once or were in clean view in a panel (but really you can do like Nightow and draw as many scars as you want without thinking about consistency, this boy has been in a meat grinder)

After July underclothes

Or the jumpsuit that gave me grey hair. His suit does not make ANY sense, I don't know how the hell he dresses himself in the morning with this. My solution is that it's very long gloves and chaps strapped to a belt. The position and shapes of the belts changes IN EVERY PANEL. Same for his knee guards, sometimes they're here, sometime they cover his shins, sometimes they are tiny..... I gave up in the end and draw them as we see them in the very last panel he wears this suit. But damn he looks good in it.

Also in all of the 13 volumes, there is not a single panel with a clear view of his holster (I checked...) so here is my interpretation.

This is prosthesis n°2, the design is a little different from the first one so I guess Prosthesis 1 got destroyed (this happens a lot).

After July coat

The very first Trigun coat he wears in the manga ! Very simple, very basic, it gives him impossibly wide shoulders but Vash deserves it. The first one is worn Post July until Vash's confrontation against Brilliant Dynamite Neon. The second one is the state of his coat after the sandsteamer incident. He loses his prothesis after his fight against Monev the gale. He meets Wolfwood with only one arm and stays that way while he fights Knives for the first time.

Eriks

I took liberties with colors because there's no colored panels with Vash as Eriks. Yes I drew him without suspenders because he has them for like 5 panels and then Nightow drew him without them for the rest of Eriks arc so I made choices ;w;

I love the fact that Vash choose to wear tight jeans even in his casual outfits, this boy will not let his skin breath. This is now Prosthesis 3 ! It's way less advanced than the ones he wore in the rest of the manga, the other ones seem to replicate skin.

After his years as Eriks

And now the first Maximum coat, he wears it until the famous Yuri hospital arc! Finally an undersuit that makes sense, I love it, too bad Nightow-san decided that I had to suffer and changed it again to add BELTS EVERYWHERE. We only see his legs in this part of the manga so I gave him the same top because I can.

The tubes he has on his waist are filled with bullets, he can connect them to his prosthesis to have a mini machine gun.

We are now at Prosthesis 4 !

Hospitalization on the Home ship

The famous Yuri hospital phase! Vash definitely shared his wardrobe with Wolfwood, you can't tell me otherwise.

The first outfit still shows Prothesis 4 but he keeps it for like 5 minutes and lost it again against Nine-lives. I don't really know if the prothesis comes with the integrated glove or if there's synthetic skin under it but why would he keep the glove on if it's not intergrated?

The second pictures is the different outfits he wears during his convalescence. I took liberties with the colors, I drew this in like 10 minutes, everything seems easy when you don't have to draw BELTS. We are now on Prothesis 5 ! Nightow drew it as a regular arm so I guess Vash wears gloves on top of it??????

Back on the road in pursuit of Knives

He wears this one after his stay at Home, throughout the Dragon's nest ark and until his 2nd fight against Knives.

I liked the design of his jumpsuit until I looked closer at the panels and saw that the design change ON EVERY ONE OF THEM. Knee guard on only one knee? No kneeguards? Two??? WHO KNOWS ??? I tried to make it work but really go wild with this one, even the author does not know how his pant looks.

Still prosthesis 5, BUT UNTIL WHEN?

Prisoner on the Ark

THEY MASSACRED MY BOY. Did they even feed him at least in 7 months? Those pictures are the definition of the drenched kitty cat left under the rain. Give this man a blanket and a therapist.

Bye bye Prothesis 5 ! And see what I mean when I say that his outfit does not make sense????? It comes out in parts????

After his imprisonment on the Ark

The last suit in the manga! He keeps this coat until the end of the story. From this point, only his hair changes (or the color of his coat).

I adore the little angel wing symbol on his left arm, such a cute addition. Too bad it appears in one of the most traumatic event of his life.

Speaking of his jumpsuit...The return of belts.... But at least this outfit stays relatively coherent except for his kneeguards who appear and disappear panel from panel but most of the time he doesn't have any, so no kneeguard it is. Prosthesis 6 hello !

Final battle and end of the story

It hurted to drew those outfits ;w; And working on the design of his coat when he fights Legato made me realize where Orange studio took inspiration to chose the colors for Vash's coat in the final episode of Stampede ! Great job ! I tried to color the same effects as one of the illustrations showing dark Vash but I'm not really good with colors..... He actually radiates energy but with some purple undertones, I took some liberties because those are my drawings I do what I want.

I'm not sure at 100% that he has a tuft of blond hair left when his outfit turns black but his hair is all black at the end of the fight. His prosthesis is destroyed at the end of the fight. He got another one in the final chapter. So 7 prosthesis throughout the story!

Airheaded S/O Headcannons #12: Uryu (Bleach)

You honestly irritate and drain him at first

That being said, he is probably one of the most capable people when it comes dealing with your bullshit.

Remember Orihime during the soul society arc?

Yeah, he's got the patience of a god

Perfectly equipped for handling your chaos, albeit begrudgingly

"Whaddya mean I can't fight that guy?" You complained.

"You dimwit, he's at least double your size with double the spiritual pressure!!!" Uryu retorted while gesturing to a particularly large arrancar.

"Booo, you're no fun. I like Ichigo better."

His pride won't allow a blow like that, so he tries to show off to prove that Ichigo is in fact not better.

When the enemy is finally defeated, he's met with you clapping and cheering like one of those soccer moms.

Admittedly, it does get him a little flustered. But it's a major ego booster, especially from you.

The first time he met you he had no idea you were completely brain dead

It was during his first showdown with Ichigo.

The hollows wouldn't stop coming, and what's worse, a Menos was starting to crossover from Heuco Mundo.

It was just too much and too overwhelming at the same time.

And then a spike of spiritual pressure came from next to him and Ichigo.

The surrounding hollows being defeated before you made your presence known.

Giving a look between the soul reaper and the Quincy before scowling.

"This isn't a dick swinging contest! Actual people could be hurt, so get your shit together and get rid of that thing!" You lectured before shooting a little ray of reishi towards another group of hollows, decimating them completely.

It felt like you were almost as strong as a Lieutenant from the Soul Society.

Which was admittedly shocking, but gave them enough time to knock the Menos back from where it came from.

"Thank you, for holding the other hallows off." Uryu figured it was the least he could do after you stalled for so long.

"Huh? Oof-!"

You just tripped.

Over nothing.

And then shot right back up.

"OH NO I LEFT THE SHOP UNATTENDED!!! TESAI'S GONNA KILL ME!!!"

You were odd. But that could've been a coincidence, right???

It was not a coincidence and now he's wondering how you manage not to get yourself killed everyday.

"Do NOT slice the box cutter towards yourself!"

And then he shows you how to do it properly so you don't stab yourself.

Will always complain about you ripping your clothes during a fight, and then proceed to stitch up all the holes.

"Wait, I can have little dandelions on that part of my sleeve?"

"Shut up, you should be glad I'm fixing it for you at all."

Makes sure he has the right thread to embroider them on 💀💀💀

You're bleeding profusely?

"Why don't you want Orihime to heal you? She's a pro at this." Uryu complains as he's cleaning up your wounds.

"Because I like you better. And you're good with stitching."

He's extremely embarrassed but appreciates the compliment.

Also, he probably has to take you to the hospital because you definitely need a blood transfusion.

You 🤝Pesche = Uryu's sleep paralysis demons

The two of you together make him want to pull his hair out.

One makes his life hell on purpose and the other (you) on accident.

But you get a pass. You're actually useful in combat.

Kisuke's adopted child™ so you're extra strong 💪💪💪

Doesn't realize he likes you until the bounts show up and he gets abducted by Yoshino.

You kept up with her surprisingly well, despite being injured by Udagawa.

Giving a relentless pursuit to get him back

But you could only push yourself so much with the gash on your side that eventually, Yoshino's doll managed to land a direct hit on you.

The next time Uryu sees you is when he wakes up in his father's hospital.

Everyone bursting in to come and see if he was okay.

Then there was you who made your way in on crutches with Kisuke supporting you.

And before he could ask if you were okay, you practically collapsed on top of him.

Giving him a bone crushing hug before finally speaking.

"I'm just so happy you're okay."

And it was the way you said it that had him smitten.

Like you really were worried about him.

Like he was actually important despite not having his powers anymore.

Yeah okay, maybe he didn't have anything to prove.

At least not to you.

Another one of the unfortunate few who tries to court you normally.

Except it's way more awkward.

This man has absolutely no idea how to approach you now that he has these feelings for you.

"I got you flowers."

"Oh... I'm allergic, but they're still pretty though 😃"

A little embarrassed but not deterred because it wasn't a 'no.'

Tries to make you food.

Key word: tries because he forgot about the fact that you and Orihime always share

Uryu, you fool! How could you be so blind?!?

☝️his actual thoughts as his attempts to court you keep failing.

But his last and final attempt finally works.

He was once again trying to show off to you while fighting a hollow.

He was doing fine up until he fell flat on his ass dodging an attack.

You'd been so quick to divert the enemy's oncoming attack before helping him up.

"Hey I got you, okay?"

And he just blurts it out.

"I'm in love with you."

And your bright smile makes him relax.

"I know... Ichigo told me."

"HE WHAT!?!?"

100% babies you.

You keep forgetting to pack your lunch?

Don't worry it's already on the counter with a little sticky note inside.

You scrapped yourself on who knows what?

You're in good hands, he's been around a hospital enough of his life to know what he's doing.

He'll even give you a kiss over the bandaid if you want to 👉👈

Speaking of hospitals 👀👀👀

Ryuken absolutely hates you

Like with a fiery passion

"Really? Them?" He gestures angrily over at you.

And it's you making silly faces at a nervous kid going in for surgery to make them laugh.

Uryu's so smitten. 😊😊😊

"Yeah. That's the one."

Does get a little insecure but not exactly jealous

He doesn't understand what you see in him.

He's not exactly the strongest or the most good looking.

The only thing he's confident in is his mind

And even then it has the tendency to fail him.

But you don't seem to see that

For whatever reason, you like him

Flaws and all, you chose him.

Will only call you sweet nicknames in private.

Among them are: love, sweetheart, baby, dear, hun, and his personal favorite - sunshine.

Prefers to fight for you than have you join in and get hurt.

Even if he's more at risk of being injured than you are

His Quincy pride just won't allow it.

I find it so endearing that Chuuya loves to fight.

15 year old Chuuya was smiling and kicking his feet (literally) at the chance to fight two Port Mafia gifted.

And it's something that's stayed with him as an adult.

The first thing Chuuya asks from Dazai is to fight him when they reunite. And for all the insults aimed at Dazai, you can tell Chuuya's enjoying this.

Chuuya gets sent to deliver a message to the Agency and gets stopped by Yosano and Kenji. His response at fighting them is to grin and say "now this is what a job should be like!"

Even in the Cannabalism arc, when he and everyone else is stressed out.

Chuuya's sitting on the floor in the hospital corridor smiling at the Agency. "So how should we go about this? We gonna go one on one, or shall we go at it together."

He just genuinely enjoys the thrill of the fight, always has. Even his corrupted form is Chuuya smiling and laughing as he blasts everything in sight.

Chuuya just really loves what he does. He doesn't become desentised to, nor see it as another part of his job. It's something he genuinely finds fun in and I just think it's sweet.

Bakugo for the character asks

1. sexuality headcanon

this can change depending on my mood, but mostly (i hc that) bakugou just uses the blanket queer term. hes not closeted, just doesnt get why its a big deal; its not anybodys business what he is, what he does, or who hes with.

2. otp

dekubaku, obviously! I could ramble on and on about it but basically i love how its a mutual obsession between both of them. they have this silent vow to each other, and its just breathtaking to watch and or read about. i honestly think no ship does it like they do.

3. brotp

platonic kiribaku is fun, but mainly I just like bakugou interacting with the interity of the class, even if sometimes they just. dont. understand him. via: the hospital scene where bakugou is risking his injured ass to go see midoriya and the class misinterprets him as wanting to FIGHT him instead of him being worried about dekus health and safety.

4. notp

honestly i dont have any HARD no's with bakugou. i dont particularly like romantic kiribaku, but its not a "IM GOING TO IMPLODE AND TAKE EVERYONE DOWN WITH ME" hard no. i only ship him with midoriya and thats.. it. lol.

5. first headcannon that pops into my head

he likes midoriyas hands; particularly his scars. i headcanon as deku having bigger hands than kacchan does, because FUCK YOU i like it that way.

6. favorite line from this character

oof. this is HARD. not because i cant pick one but litteraly because my memory is so fucking shitty, and i cant remember any. but any lines that comes out of his gremlin mouth is my favorite.

7. one way in which i relate to this character

that hes hard to love, really, but that despite everything you can learn to be better. and that you can be loved to, even at your worst. i find that aspect of his character really comforting. not that what he did wasnt wrong, but that he can improve and still be loved despite not 100% being there yet.

8. thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

when his huaghty attitude in his early arcs kicked him in the ass so hard, i had to sheild my eyes away from it because my face got so red from cringing.

9. cinnamon roll or problematic fav?

tbh in fandom terms hed be a problematic fav becsuse not everybody likes him for one reason or another, but to me he is babygirl. and everybody else can fuck off if they want to think otherwise.

Chapter 144 thoughts!

So they’re cutting ahead again, and I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, we’re still building on Ruby’s character arc regarding her feelings for Gorou, so it makes sense.

But on the other hand, the implication that they’re doing the entire movie chronologically means that Hikaru and Ai’s part of the movie together is over, which is ludicrous to me because Aqua’s “ultimate revenge play” fantasy that he’s been coming up with since childhood has ultimately just been “the Uwuification of Hikaru Kamiki”

I’m not too phased because I still think we’re going to return to it, Frill was confident from script alone that Aqua was trying to kill his father, and there was an emphasis placed on Ai denying Hikaru. I’m not sure why it hasn’t happened from a watsonian perspective (maybe hospital availability pushing those scenes up?) but from a doyalist perspective I could see it being the climax of Ruby’s character arc which she isn’t ready for.

It’s another one of those “I can’t really judge it until I’ve seen the rest of the arc” things so I’ll try to just judge it for what is is right now.

Melt looks so good as Gorou! I didn’t think much about the casting when it was announced but he’s really bringing the role to life.

Ruby chiming in to essentially go “no he wouldn’t fucking say that” is both funny and indicative to the entitled perception and attachment she feels to him. It specifically gives me a lighter version of Nino talking about Ai

I like how Melt talks about understanding Gorou here. He really is an understanding and empathic person and it shines through in his acting style. Him calling the role “cool” is cute to me.

Ruby really gets mean here in a way that almost comes off as out of character. It reads to me like her obsession is growing more toxic, or maybe some lingering cruelty from how she was behaving before, but it is a little jarring.

Melt’s interpretation of Gorou is spot on to me, he understands Gorou’s subtly and respect better than even Ruby does. (Though @aihoshiino pointed out to me that Gorou is implied by the anime and the chapter where his corpse is found to have had his keychain out the whole time in front of Ai. Still, in terms of his professionalism and hiding that he’s a fan Melt gets it)

It makes me wonder what his information is. He doesn’t know Gorou’s name (which makes sense since Gorou can’t legally consent to his name being used) but he knows his history with Sarina enough to guess she gave him the pin.

Also this dude! Glad to see him

The pin’s relevance to her turnaround feels very rooted in sentimentality. I really like the concept of it, but it feels a bit dangerously close to Comedy!Ruby from the Hikaru Ai scenes. I think I like it more here though, as it feels more in character and purposeful.

Crow girl in the tree like a creature is healing me tbh. I know a lot of people are skeptical of her and the supernatural element her presence enforces, but I’ve always found her so interesting and fun and I’m happy to see her again.

Thank you for asking about how she gets around, that’s been one of the goofy questions the server has been mulling over for a while now lol

Interesting that this location seems significant to her, considering her first appearance here, as well as the fact that her two reincarnation targets where here when they died. Her implying there may be more special people is interesting. I wonder if any more will come into the story, though part of me doubts it.

This might imply characters we’ve met have god attachments without even knowing it. Simple guess here would be Ai, there’s precedence for her to be connected to the “God of Entertainment.” Though even if she was, I’m sure what kind of relevancy that would have -if any- considering she is dead and confirmed never coming back, but it’s interesting to think about.

See? She’s such a goofball! Between this and Aqua bullying her into being an actor, she’s been a strong comedic pillar in this arc.

All in all, a pretty decent chapter, kinda annoying in its placement, but much better than having the skip week after last chapter.

hot shit do i feel enlightened bc audhd House makes so much sense to me!!! he surrounds himself with chaos and novelty and stimulation but still adheres to things that don't change-- his apartment, when he lives in it, it always set up the same way. it's mentioned he's had the same guitar for many years, as well as numerous medical texts. He uses his same red mug all the time at the hospital (he has a designated hospital mug. it lives at the hospital and he only uses it at the hospital). he is very adamant about his office space-- it only changes drastically for him in season 8. just before he leaves. he and Wilson have a fun schedule-- bowling nights, poker nights, etc-- and he does spontaneous stuff all the time, but he orchestrates it. he enacts enrichment time for his fellows and Wilson. he canonically spaces out during/stops processing conversations all the time because he's thinking. he will forget to do basic things while on cases, and there's that one episode where he stays up all night because he's cooking something. he is the king of "shit i forgot to eat. i forgot to shower and pee. i forgot--"

while im thinking of eating!! he has that bad hunger recognition. he will forgo eating for days for cases, fixations, pain levels. he usually eats off of wilson's plate anyways, and i think wilson mainly eats because he's made it part of routine, and that if he forgets to eat house definitely forgets to eat, and that usually ends badly. i dont think house has any specific avoidances but he does usually go for pizza, or anything wilson's made. he likes fries.

the adhd bit makes him more prone to addiction (it's a real thing) and he does show those behaviors (vicodin, alcohol). he has to have either the puzzles or the substances, taking him off both fucked with him a lot (mayfield and afterwards). in prison he got managed doses of vicodin, and he was getting antsy and desperate for the challenge of a good case towards the end of that arc. he all but jumps on that heat allergy guy, risking his chances of parole multiple times to try and get close. side note, did y'all see his equation scribblings on the wall by his bunk? hes so silly

ive also been thinking like. we see very large-scale self destructive behaviors from nearly everyone in the show but we don't see a lot of self-regulation outside of house's stimming so that means i get to make up my own and project onto wilson.

wilson spends a lot of time masking at work so we don't see him fully let loose and i think that he is a fan of full body movement. he's jumping up and down. he's pacing the apartment and swingin his arms. he sways and rocks in place. at the hospital and places that aren't safe he keeps the stim energy to his hands/fingers, or taps his foot/bounces his leg-- things easy enough for neurotypicals to pass off as nervous energy. he loves to click pens but he only does it when he's alone or with house because he knows that other people find it annoying (house doesn't care, he starts clicking/tapping too and it's like they're drumming together). he and house learned morse code and annoy the ducklings and cuddy with it all the time.

bad times wilson scratches a lot (this is me projecting btw). at his scalp, at his arms, anywhere he can get to; and usually he's self conscious enough to do it where he can hide it under his clothes (house is unaffected and can tell anyways)(usually because he's there trying to help wilson stop scratching)(but if he's not he can still tell and wilson doesn't wanna know how). he also presses/rubs his face a lot (in general and not just bad times wilson), and bad times wilson gets abrasions on his eyelids/cheeks from his sweatshirt when he has a meltdown. i've seen another person talk about this, but i think he absolutely tears his cuticles up. he's managed to stop biting/tearing his nails down to nothing but between vigorous scrubbing for the OR and not liking lotion (sensory bad. i need it for my arms and the backs of my hands sometimes and i always wipe it off of my palms and fingers) his hands are so dry. house makes fun of him but he does carry around a nail file because he's trying to stop picking at his fingers regularly, and limit it to a bad times emergency regulatory behavior.

house fights meltdowns to the death. he hates having them, he hates having to be vulnerable like that (and that's a canonical trauma response). he has held one off through sheer will for an entire week before wilson called out sick for him and made him take a day off. they ended up taking a long weekend to recover. on the occasion they're both melting down at the same time, it's a multiple days affair. wilson will recognize what's happening and try to make sure everything in the apartment is low effort and accessible from the floor because house's meltdowns are more often than not pain response and that means that house stays on the floor. and when wilson is melting /neg he doesn't want to leave house. on a sillier(?) note they have a tally/competition for shortest meltdown (wilson), longest meltdown (house), fastest to meltdown (house), longest amount of time spent holding off a meltdown (house), most efficient meltdown (wilson), and most meltdowns located in the hospital (wilson).

“You are so weird.” The boy infront of you smiles at his ‘compliment’ right before shaking his head in a disappointed manner “How did a rookie like you even get here in the first place?” He looks at you again, making you choke up on a laugh yet again, finding the situation rather humourous. This was a regular schedule for you in psych ward, along with every other patient. Arc... The most insolent little brat among the place, targeting quite frankly everybody for his ridicule. The male surely seemed to have quite the pent up sass inside of him regarding his constant snarky commentary and stupid remarks, that's for sure.

But you seemed to be too busy with your stuff to pay any mind to his judgement. Completely ignoring his previous comments. He was always poking fun and everybody around the hospital, it wasn't exactly foreign to you. And it fact, you've grown a liking towards him. Otherwise you would have kicked him off your bed as soon as he sat on it for sure. You pulled out one of the pouches you had on you, searching for an object you had brought with you and let out a noise of happiness as soon as you found it.

You sat on your knees to add on a bit of height to where he was sitting, turning his way. “stay still...” you muttered as you gently brushed some of his blonde hairs out of his face, trying to not hurt him. You clipped a hairpin into his locks before you leaned back once again, giving him back his space. Your eyes softened as you let out a small ‘aww’ in response. “you look pretty”

“...”

“Are you flirting with me?”

Arc raised his eyebrows in question. “Because honestly, that was way too smooth for someone to not do that on purpose. You got really close and it looked like you were almost going to steal my heart away” He leans back looking up at you. “And then you told me I was 'pretty'. Were you trying to make my heart skip a beat? That could seriously damage my health, you know” He tries to look as hurt as possible. You gave him a look that just screamed ‘are you serious rn’ before shaking your head, sticking out your tongue a little and having a playful look plastered on your features. “Kindness certainly seems to be a teensy tiny bit foreign to someone” you sassed.

Arc just laughed in response. “Well that's not fun. Flirting is more exciting don't you know? Especially when you're close enough to smell them and touch them” He leans a bit closer to you. “I thought you were sending me signals? Like, a beautiful person like you can't possibly be single. And yes, kindness is foreign to me. You should watch me stab someone if you think I'm nice”

You just let out a little ‘o’ at the last comment, but snickered a little as well. You leaned in, making your noses practically touch with one another. “so, okay... that wasn't flirting... but do you want me to?” you sweetly spoke with a tilt of your head, getting in his face. You just sneakily chuckled, awaiting his response. But you seemed sincere with your words too. This made Arc think for a bit, making him bite down on his tongue.

“I want to,”

He leans in, getting closer to your lips and stopping at the last second. “But it's too soon for me to open my heart again. What if you just play with my feelings and use me for your own pleasure? What if you do all those things and then throw me away like trash?” He looks you in the eyes, waiting to see how you would respond.

Due to the closureness they had, he could easily see your features saddening up a little after he said that. “who hurt you?” was all you asked. And without warning, you just went right in and gave him an embrace, wanting to comfort him a little by giving him the closure before pulling back. You put your warm hand on his shoulder, your smile dropping a little as you looked at him sadly. You didn't say anything, just kept staring into his gorgeous orange eyes with your own. And Arc couldn't help but blush at the sudden gesture. “Y-you really have no clue how much emotional damage your doing to me right here-!? You are really giving me false hope, and false hope is way worse than any other heartbreak I've gotten. I think I'm in love with you just by that action alone, I am done. I'll be at your mercy for the rest of my days, so please. Don't. Break. My. Heart.”

You only turned redder the longer he continued with his speech, causing you to squeal lightly and cover your face with your hands to try and hide yourself. But a few giggles were noticeably audible as well “... cute” you softly muttered with a hint of genuineness. But it was a lie If you said that you weren't getting flustered over this thing. “Cute? You're calling me cute? Oh please, I'm way more than just a simple little word like that-!” He wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you towards him “You are way too cute yourself. Just look at this adorable blush on you. You're just adorable, I've never seen somebody this easily flustered”

You let out a shaky breath you didn't know you were holding, peeking through your fingers. You calmed down and removed your hands from your face, sending him an affectionate yet teasing smile. Without warning, you pinned the boy down to the bed you were both sitting on. “you want a partner, you get a partner” you spoke with a wink. You leaned in even further, to the point he could feel your weight on top of him. “you surely know how to work your way into somebody's heart. You're cute ...” you whispered before just wrapping your arms around him. Hugging him as you nuzzled your nose into the crook of his neck with audible giggles being heard in the process.

He was caught off guard by your sudden move, but he was more than happy to hold you back. Your weight on top of him made this experience even better for him. He wraps his arms around you and let's out a small moan of pleasure. He leans in. And this time, he doesn't back out. “No, you're supposed to be the one who is flustered and caught off guard. This is my move, and I'm supposed to be taking control of the situation... But... this is much better.” He continues to nuzzle into you, enjoying every second of your embrace.

You just chuckled in response and nicked his ear with a small nibble, the warmth of your mouth and saliva being felt. Your hand went over and caressed his head, brushing away his locks as your fingertips stroked over his scalp with care. As your hand went through his silky, blonde hair, Arc would let out a small, blissful groan. His eyes were half closed in pleasure and his tongue softly licked his lips at that moment. “I like this side of you. You know exactly what you're doing.” He lets out another soft, satisfied groan as he wraps his arms around you, holding you tight to himself. If his hands could, he would pull you closer to him, but he seems content with what you're currently doing. This scene is simply perfect and he isn't sure if he wants to take charge or allow you to.

You choked on a laugh for a bit, shaking your head a little. “hmm, maybe~” you sneakily spoke before leaning in once again, getting up to his ear “I want to make you happy... and I know I can... if you let me” you sweetly whispered in a quiet tone, before you gave him another small bite, on the shoulder this time. Gently nibbling and using your teeth while still being careful to not hurt him. Your fingernails on your right hand were still comfortly caressing over his scalp, softly massaging him in the process. While your free hand went over to softly stroke over his neck, moving your warm fingers up and down, making the heat go through his body. Arc feels a sharp tinge of pleasure run through his body as you give him bites and nibbles. He starts to pant lightly and his body heat begins to rise. His face flushes red as the sensation runs through his body.

“You will make me happy. That much is a guarantee. I'm just wondering if you have the willpower to make me happy. You're in control right now so please, don't hold back. Please, make me the happiest man alive right now.” Arc pulls you closer by his hips, wanting to touch you all over. You went back over towards his ear, your nose quite literally touching before speaking once again. “You don't have to tell me twice” trying to mimic the voice to sound as sweet as you could.

You gently went over to his neck instead, softly placing your teeth onto his skin and sinking in very slightly. The warmth went straight into his body and he was caught slightly by surprise as you sucked at the spot, assumingly leaving a mark. Your free hand tickled him under the chin while the other continued to brush through his hair, making his eyes roll back and his whole body shudder with pleasure as you suck on his neck. “Oh my god. Why did I have to meet you in a psych ward? I just wanted to kill a little time on my own, but you, you are something else. Please don't stop, my body loves this. You're like a succubus. You are too good for me.”

He can't help but think to himself ‘Where on earth did this person come from’. They're a keeper. You put a bit more pressure on your sucking session, wanting to please him even further. You allowed more saliva to get in contact with his skin, your warmth sending him to a state of glee. Your fingers continued to caress him all over, as they went from his locks, to his forehead, shoulders and down his chest, teasing him to no end. Arc let's out a small pleasure cry as he holds onto you, enjoying every second of it. He wraps his hands around you waist and pulls you even closer. This makes their faces really close together, and that was just fine with him.

“Let's be honest, if we weren't in a psych ward, we would be doing things WAAAAY more intimate than this.” He leans in for a kiss, and yet ... In a swift movement, your hands met his chest and he got pushed back down onto the sheets, landing with a thud. Your thighs were on both of his sides as you held him down. You tilted your head innocently and gave him a slightly wide grin. You spoke in a soft tone, but there was definitely a hint of dominance in your voice. “jokes on them... psych ward cannot stop me” you spoke with a sassy eyeroll, before giving him a soft peck on the crook on his mouth. He lets out a soft chuckle in response to your snarky remark as he tries to grab your face, but your legs are pinning him down. Arc’s face turns bright red as you give him a kiss.

“I believe I have found my favorite person on the planet” He smirks while still staring at her. “So we're together now, am I right? You wouldn't say these nice things and do these nice things to me and then ignore me right? Because that would kill me. I need more of this. Please.” he quietly begs.

You chuckled softly, your eyes staring deeply at him. “more, hm~?” you teasingly spoke before leaning in on his neck once again, he could feel your warm breath on him. Your lips met the edge of his neck once again, returning the warmth from before. But unlike last time, you didn't hold back. Sucking at the skin as if he was a slushy, leaving one heck of a mark for sure. All the while your hands were caressing and tickling him all over. Giving him soft strokes over him entire frame.

Arc’s toes curl and his entire body feels extremely flush and hot. “I swear to god, I'm going to marry you. You can have all my money, my property, my soul, all of it. I'd do anything... please, be mine forever. I'm literally your puppy. Whatever you want I'll give you, but please... Never leave me.”

“Atleast say my name then, silly~ call me... ___” you sweetly spoke out as you leaned into his ear. You caressed and tickled him under the chin like the puppy that he said that he was, as you just had a huge teasing smirk on your face. You gave him a small bite on the crook of his mouth, softly nibbling once again. Every sound and reaction coming out of him being absolutely adorable. Without warning, you gave in for a few passive kisses, making sure to peck on every side of his mouth while pampering him in affection. You noticeably started giggling as you didn't stop, continuing to shower him in these tiny yet loveable smoothes, all while your hands went over to the back of his neck, stroking his hairline with your warm hands.

Arc’s eyes started to tear up through his pleasure. He has never felt this good in his life and he can feel it in his core. He completely submits to you. He couldn't help but moan softly as he feels your warm kisses around his body. He wraps his arms around you. You now seemed to be the confident, dominant one here. It seems that you were the one now in control. Arc liked this, it felt... Nice. He noticeably tried to talk to you, but he was too busy panting like a dog out of pleasure. You nuzzled your nose into the crook of his neck, letting out a small chuckle in response. He could feel your warm breath and giggling on his neck, making his shudder with delight. You just continued to stick close to him, attaching yourself to him like a leech while continuing to softly nibble at the most sensitive spots of his neck. Eventually, he manages to get some words out.

“Y-Your bite and those- AH! Ghnn... little nibbles are way too good. You're absolutely destroying my body right now. I'm not sure if my body can even handle this much... please don't stop. Please.” He pulls you, seemingly wanting to become a bit more dominant himself. He wants to get a piece of you too. “Let's just say that your bite is like my kryptonite. You better never be far from me or else I think I'll go insane.” He kisses you gently and starts to nibble on your neck too.

You snickered as he made his own way towards your neck, but you seemed to be a whole lot less sensitive towards it as you simply continued your act of teasing him. You turned your head as you cupped his cheek, tilting his head to the side so you could have more access. Your lips went right under his jawline as your teeth went over the fragile skin of his throat, testing him even further by softly nicking his skin and letting it slip again. You put more pressure on your will to suck at the side of his jaw, right on his soft spot as your hands and fingers caressed over his entire frame again.

Arc gives out a small moan and his entire body shakes. This is way too good. His hands start to wrap more tightly around you, trying to steady himself. He can now feel you teasing him on his neck and he loves this. He moans loudly as his eyes roll back and he closes them. It seems that he likes your nicking. His hands move down by his side and start caressing around your waist. “Oh my god, you're... too...” He tries to finish the sentence, but he finds his breathing starting to become faster and deeper with every nibble you make on his skin. The more you tease him, the more intense his feelings for you become. His voice gets lost in pleasure. Your fingers lightly run over his skin causing him to make loud moans.

His body seems to be so sensitive, any amount of teasing is unbearable, but he loves it. His hands squeeze your sides, showing just how much he wants you. He makes these soft whines and moans, begging for you to continue. He wants more of this. More of you. “Oh my god I might actually pass out from this.” Arc let's out a low grunt but a lot of pleasure was also running through his body. He grips onto your thigh with his hand, using it to stabilize himself as he was feeling too much sensation from all of this. He was even starting to feel a little weak.

He starts nibbling at you again, trying to regain his dominance. Making their little battle turn into a race to see who could pleasure their partner in an intimate manner first. Arc tries to keep himself from making pleasure noises, but that seems impossible. Just feeling you nibble him in that spot is too good. His whole body shakes and his toes curl, and that's not even mentioning what he's doing to you. He nibbles your neck harder and bites your skin like you did, being careful not to break skin and just making sure that he's giving back a good amount of the treatment you're dealing out. He also starts to suck on your neck more, his arms gripping onto your waist. He wants to give you a taste of your own medicine.

“You are definitely trying to drive me insane. If we weren't in a psych ward right now I would be ripping off all of my clothes right now. Right. Now.” He says between deep and intense breaths. He just wants to be with you. He'll do anything to make this last an eternity. You giggled at that comment, right before giving one last harsher suck to try and shut him up, most definitely leaving a hickey. You gave one last smooch on the mark before backing up, snickering like the little devil that you were. His eyes roll back as he lets out a soft and loud moan. As you pull away, he looks deeply into your eyes, with his breathing still being slightly heavy and him now panting due to the mark you left on his neck. He bites his lip, not being able to handle the intensity. He looks at you with a devilish, lustful grin. It seems that his love is being taken to a whole other level of passion. His whole body feels like it's been set on fire, and you seem to be the only one to be able to put it out... “More... I need more. Don't you dare stop. I need more. Please. Please please please. Please”

He leans in towards you again, ready for more teasing. The mark you left gave him a small hit of dopamine that he is craving like a drug addict as he craves another hit of you-induced dopamine. You just giggled to yourself as you gave a sneaky grin. “my my, Arc... You're like a beast in heat” you spat in a sassy manner before ruffling your hand through his blonde locks. But effortlessly, you pinned him down with your free hand once again, making him gasp out with his hands now above his head. You leaned in, your lips teasing him as he couldn't even reach you due to being pinned down.

He starts to moan lightly as his breaths become deeper and shorter. The mark on his neck is like a warm blanket that covers his body, and the mark feels like you just claimed him as your own little pet, which made his feelings for her explode in intensity. “Darling... You're biting away at your lower lip~” you spoke with a snicker, finding his state to be amusing and loveable. “I suggest you clench those jaws, sugar~” Arc’s jaw drops as he hears that comment. Why couldn't you just be a normal partner? You always had to make him want you more and more. But it was working. You immediately went towards his neck again, giving him kisses and nibbles to deal with, along with sucking on every spot at every turn. Each and every one seemed to be more intimate than the last one. Every kiss and nibble made him melt even more. He starts to shake a bit with every peck you give him. He's lost all control to you and he's loving every second. This is what true happiness feels like and he never wants this moment to end. He just stares deeply into your eyes and starts moaning louder in between each bite. He grits his teeth so that he doesn't completely break down and go insane on you.

It wasn't until the opening from the doorway could be heard that you both kind of froze in your spots. Say stood in the doorframe, her expression being rather blank as soon as her eyes drifted towards you both. You were still on top of Arc and he was trying his damnedest to keep his moans in, resulting in you placing your hand on his mouth to try and shush him in the process. Say just kept silent, unblinking as she honestly questioned her life decisions while praying to go back a few minutes from the current situation.

“... The doctors were so right to take you both in”

Back to basics everybody!!! Let’s remember who this goofball is from the start. Forget he has a social link and see him be the bumbling fool for plot exposition and the real murderer !!!! Just like how I tell you not to reference the attendant during 3/20, we can put Shadow Adachi’s mannerisms and his influence under literal god aside and try and focus on what that means as symbolism and extra information on Adachi himself!!

Standalone Drama CD Vol. 3

THIS IS A FUN ONE he has scattered cameos throughout the drama and was essentially being dragged around by Dojima.

Basic premise of this volume that it’s sports festival season!! Yasogami’s at it and the IT are participating, as well as Nanako—although she worries that her dad won’t even come to see her and that she wouldn’t even be able to do the family three-legged race.

Adachi’s appearances here are so stupid, he says he was an “elite” then flops trying to help high-schoolers with homework because Naoto’s there. He does his usual begging and whining with Dojima etc etc he also drove Dojima to compete with Nanako after saying the man finished all his reports as fast as possible.

I like this one because it reinforces who Adachi is based mostly from the main game. With the context that fans listening are aware he’s the culprit (or not), they do sprinkle in his “emptiness” (<- no i'm exaggerating it sorry) and bring it to the front of the picture a bit.

Manga Adaptation (Sogabe)

SOUJI SETA TRUTHER COMING IN STRONG also i just adore Sogabe’s adaptation on the game as a whole. While I am Marie lover#1, this manga did begin in 2008, and I like to think it’s the hypothetical that Marie really was expunged completely OKAY WHERE WAS I

As mentioned, this whole adaptation focuses on the game before Golden was ever a thing. No scooters, no extra events, no nothing. Although, Sogabe did write in a bit of Adachi’s Social Link in a context best suited for Souji.

I like Sogabe's take on Adachi in the manner of how he draws him and writes him as a character. It's not as whimsical or lazy like the anime, and the way he took the downhill spiral of the Hospital arc, from November to December, just actually felt like my emotions were ready in the right places. Surprisingly, in every adaptation, I was really enamored to see how Adachi acted differently in each one.

In the manga, he didn't seem as slack jawed as he did in the game at least. He looked like he was trying so hard to act concerned when he he actually feels guilty for everything going down !!! OR MAYBE NOT !!!!!!!

compared to the game, you can really how much he exudes of being so. plastic. ung kaplastikan. and you're mad not because you're stuck with ps2 limitations of three polygons of an arm waving around, but you're mad that he reeks of faking concern. But also unlike the game, you don't understand what's going on anymore because of the things that have transpired in relation to Adachi's character. Which is Sogabe's adaptation of his Social Link with Souji through having dinner with each other.

and Souji doesn’t know him! They share things with one another that one dinner but otherwise, Adachi’s never rambled on about himself as much as he does in a normal Social Link run. There is a different sort of motive with Souji and he wants to some things wrap things up while everything else is falling apart around him. What if Souji’s a bit selfish himself and wants to be in control of things when everything in his life and vision are literally blurring as he breathes? (takes place in november when nanako's hospitalized btw)

I love the lack of intimacy between the two, contrary to what majority of the fan base wants or even BELIEVES. Souji is a kid with a year in Inaba, of course he does a million other things with his time than hang out with an adult that’s some kind of darker version of himself and a representation of a possible bleaker future considering how similar they are.

As for the specific chapters, I think it’s fulfilling to go through the whole manga from the start. Like, forget everything you know about P4 for a second and experience it as fresh as possible. Then you get to Chapter 54 to see Adachi’s condensed Social Link and get to Volume 12 to see things come together. Sure, I start getting a bit iffy with Volume 13 but I enjoy the parallels between the two, genuinely.

I would kindly ask everybody to do this in Japanese dub but otherwise ehmmm yeah ! Episode Adachy. I do enjoy how they try to elaborate how his personalities are coalescing into a single face as he doesnt have to fake around people anymore. Like the fact that his lame humor is still present and he’ll do stupid voices, which makes you wonder if he was always like this or that it’s something he adopted while acting out the last facade he’s done for over a year—or more.

HE IS SO FUCKING OPINIONATED AND THINKS HES SO COOL he has SO MUCH PRIDE but also he doesnt at the same time. you think hes a soldier surviving in the idgaf war but hes still dying in the mines he planted and crossfire for multiple reasons. hes simultaneously a teenage girl and a man in his late twenties.

Adachi is totally giving a fuck, not just in a white girl bully “I’m better than everyone” kind of way but like he’s totally giving a fuck about a lot of things. “Oh I gotta stop whatever this god has going down for this city in bumfuck nowhere because the case is going to go around in circles and i’ll never serve jail time in peace” how many times has he turned corners in an alleyway maze just by saying this.

hes literally trembling in his shoes with everything happening in that hour but hes just so good at bottling up emotions from others and HIMSELF. Theres only so much he’ll admit in his own monologue—in his own thoughts. That hes aware of things but he’ll never say it out loud even in his own head i’ll tear him apart with my bare hands <- i am just genuinely annoyed he can do this and not me but i should be grateful that i can express myself than be an emotionally repressed asshole

He finds kids who are mirrors where he sees himself in. One, a goody two-shoes who has it all, the other an actual brat with a fucked up life from loneliness, isolation, and abuse (a million other things). And he’s not annoyed only because he finds similarities between him and them, but the fact that they’re children and they have at least a decade more than his ass which he spent sulking about with.

He’s mad at Bancho because he has his way from the kindness and generosity of his time he’s spent with others, something Adachi didn’t do; in which he could use his situation with his family and education as an excuse, but he never brings that up because as much as he likes seeing others eat shit and he has his way, Adachi also considers himself a fuckup. can you see this irony. So many chances to get out there and socialize, but he stuck his nose in his studies thinking a good future’s already laid out for him—BUT THE BUBBLE POPPED which is what fucking happens when youre in Japanese economic depression after the bubble economy. and you dont bother to leave your comfort zone either EVEN WHEN YOU DONT NECESSARILY like the things youre doing because it’s the only damn thing you’re used to !!!!

He’s sick of Sho because he’s an oversized 10 year old who’s doing the exact same thing Adachi’s done in the past and Adachi is sick of that. he hates himself. and he’ll hate a kid for acting the same way. He’ll project so much he’ll fix another person’s mistakes not out of pure goodness of his heart, but because he doesnt like himself as a person no matter how much he tries to deflect these thoughts in his own head.

Adachi’ll scoff and nitpick Narukami because he doesn’t want to admit this better version of him is better. That he’s not this other guy, but rather, he’s just himself. He complains and whines about Dojima and even says he “hates him,” but is everyone not aware he’s the second biggest tsundere in this series next to Marie at this point. they are COMPETING for that number one title.

no matter how many times he tries to sever connections for the sake of the other party, those bonds are developed enough for the other party to WANT to tie it back together. he doesnt know how to build bridges, but he doesnt know how to properly burn them either. hes sloppy at everything he does. he is gay.

Arena Ultimax Manga Adaptation (Rokuro Saito)

this is a bit funny. i read it mostly for Sho like. while i do adore it as very beautiful adaptation. when it comes to adachi uhh. hmm. looks around. the rokuro saito effect. he did mementos mission too if you're wondering and what I mean by this.

I mean he did reinforce Adachi getting proper police training and essentially being above average to the top of his classes (krav maga, shooting accuracy, detectivisms, etc.). His humor and mannerisms are also delightful i think personally with the way they're illustrated and essentially visualized. Rokusai has his quirk for drawing everybody really pretty which he does really well for Persona characters, but it also caught me really off guard when he works on adachi like okay! sho breaking his ribs can fix everything itsok.

THIS. this, goodness gracious it was so silly. Adachi’s here for a few segments with Dojima in the pub. Detective yaoi if thats what you’re into I guess. He also sounds a bit cheeky here in speaking tone and the scheme he’s pulling to call Naoto to do their job while Dojima’s knocked out on duty.

The Animation

i dont have much to say about the actual anime i dont really watch it, but i respect the Narukami truthers out there. It’s just not for me, nor do I reference it for Adachi at all. why does he look like this

i dont have that much judgement to say if it's good enough to use as reference for Adachi besides it visualizing how much of a goofball he is, I guess I could mention that. I have issues of it depicting lore but otherwise i dont think it's that much different than what the base game pulls besides it different pacing to better fit the animation medium.

Standalone Drama CD Vol. 2: You'll understand when you get older

Not particularly partial with this one because the anime gave Narukami a face, like he’s his own character here. Dojima makes Adachi go to Okina and deliver something because his clown ass forgot to hand it over to the other prefect police who visited within the day. Narukami’s off to go help Ebi stand in line for a makeup promo and Dojima says they can go together. There’s a subplot with the IT where they think Narukami’s being arrested lol so they go follow him throughout the rest of the drama.

Adachi just hangs out with the silly billy that is his boss’ nephew who has so much kindness and generosity that it could get the kid killed one day.

The Golden (PS VITA 2013)

I scratch my head and wonder what they were going for with Adachi’s Social Link besides the fanservice. I mean thats what they did with akc in royal i guess. <- has my own opinions about this but im closing my mouth.

It feels a bit too… intimate for me? What’s the deal with WANTING to invite him for dinner… without Dojima around either. Like they’re a two in one package for me, you can’t see one without the other most of the time. Like Adachi’s slacking off work while Dojima’s slaving away by himself? I’ve always believed they get off at the same time or something because of the subordinate status.

I did enjoy the Junes segments though, it kind of felt like it was a good placement—if you move things around a bit. Him hiding behind your back while you’re doing groceries so it looks like he’s busy was a bit funny, and him chatting you up while you’re supposed to be busy yourself is also silly if you consider that Bancho himself wants to bail and was just caught into his chismosa and whining. He has enough of a degree of association with you as you’re putting your nose into the murder case and that you’re his boss’ nephew, so that’s kind of why you’re the only few people he can talk to.

dont make me talk about the accomplice ending that thing’s pretty corny to me but also unnerving i dont want to think about it alot.

With the way things have gone for Adachi’s new characterization with the added Social Link and the new events for Golden, it personally made me think twice about it all, especially when his TV studio and Shadow self ended up the same. There’s a lot to go about this? (<- deranged) and I will admit that I myself got sucked into the idea that he’s an antagonist and couldn’t truly experience everything right at that point. whoopsie. Then again, looking at it at this point in time after a few years makes me realize yeah maybe this does make a bit of sense! The nature of the fog has changed, which can explain the drastic change in character between Namatame and Adachi. which is an essay for another day I really feel a bit out of it.

The “um” segment. Stuff I dont really like to reference nor put in the pot that makes adachi soup because im really iffy with it and how the writing was taken liberally for the sake of the audience rather than the reinforcement of source material itself.

The Adachi centric episodes 6, 7, and the accomplice ending bonus episode lol, as the whole Golden anime was really for Marie and other new Golden add-ons like Okina and scooters and ski trip and etc.

how do I put this. im really opinionated on this segment it’s okay if you dont take my word for it. I dont like the production quality. The animation is honestly really bad and the artstyle itsnt tasteful with how it’s executed. There’s enough frames of Marie that people looking over my shoulder while I watch would call her Adachi. It really is a boatload of a cashgrab and fanservice that kind of adds new insightful things to the lore but honestly? I don;t trust it. Like the writers forgot what they were writing about and started writing fanfiction of what they originally made.

It did give some insight with Adachi, but I hate how they just made Narukami the way he is for this adaptation. Like the boy does have all the time in world and hes not an overworked high-schooler with so many commitments now he can… make a man dinner and deliver it to him…? I would definitely say “> Adachi doesn't seem to lead a nutritionally balanced life...” and leave it at that, i am not making him dinner i dont have time for that. can someone get this guy a girlfriend please. Don’t get me started how they treated his character development and lore surrounding him overall im sick of it. At least Sogabe made it all look pretty.

anyway here’s the part where i can add my closing thoughts as someone who fills a niche solely because they think and enjoy things so differently than the present majority. I don’t think im mature enough to enjoy things peacefully in a community full of different people but also because im losing the idgaf war myself. I’m glad I can enjoy a media in general and I’m so happy when people can enjoy it with me. (had to stop the cat from clawing on the vacuum he likes the texture apparently) where was I

hold my hand as i go through a hundred coming of age arcs in my life and that one day i wont be as embarrassed as i am now to admit i like tohru adachi as a character and talk about him with a restraint so childish because I dislike how a majority depict him. he’s part of my journey as i learn things about myself as much as mimi but in a more human way because. hes human. or something. one day i can forget his reputation in the community and create all the things i make with pure love that is not fueled by spite to be right and correct. I already know i am right and correct because everyone can enjoy things their own way and find things that they like in one thing that are different from things others like. for now, i will still treat him like an insufferable uncle older brother thing whose arm i periodically chew on until i reach bone and let him carry me back to bed when im tired of being annoyed of him.
