Are you familiar with the youtuber Jessie Gender? She just put out a big two-part video on masculinity and how it sits in gender identity and trans experience that I found really really fascinating and touching and reminded me of a lot of the things you talk about in regards to masculinity and I just thought you might find it interesting if you felt so inclined

big fan of ms. gender's videos but i haven't seen that two parter yet. her work on trans issues is definitely a sometimes snack for me, as it's usually a very honest and deep dive that i'm not always in the mood for (affectionate). but she does great work, and is the only video essayist able to get me to care about star trek TNG, which is impressive.

but yeah, that's super cool of her, i'll give it a watch when i'm up for it 🤠

Adrien has probably dreamed about this moment a thousand times, but he never could have predicted it happening with him on his knees absolutely weeping and surrounded by demolished baked goods.

He had practiced the line in his head a thousand times. "I finally found you, my lady." He pictured it in all sorts of scenarios-- whispered to her under his breath on the street or coolly spoken over an espresso during a rendezvous or warm and deep from his chest on a dark night in a place they used to patrol -- But in these dreams he was suave and together. Subtle and discrete, because he knew that's what his lady would've wanted, but even more so because it was going to be just for them to savor together.

He really thought he would be put together when it finally happened. The thought of it made him laugh, but it just came out as another sob.

He always knew there would be tears. He wasn't going to lie to himself about that. But maybe he wasn't quite honest about just how many tears.

Of course his lady would bring him to his knees. Of course his lady would come back to him like this. Vigilant, and perfect, and clever, if not utterly unpredictable.

(I believe this is in response to me saying on this post (https://fernacular.tumblr.com/post/708002706402508800/fernacular-if-i-ruled-the-world-andor-was-in) that my version of superman would be slightly nerfed and have to actively work to maintain his godly amount of strength, as opposed to just a crazy amount of strength)

I would like to gently disagree?

I think that makes him an interesting plot device, but not necessarily an interesting character, because that's not down to a decision he's making.

Just, walk with me a second.

Imagine a superman where he is in constant conflict between two desires: the desire to save the people of earth and the desire to be part of the community of earth. Where being as immensely powerful as he is is a choice he has to keep making continuously, even though it creates a wedge between himself and the people around him, because what if he lets that go and he's not strong enough when it matters and people get hurt?

What if he was a tangled mess of guilty resentment and anxiety and hope that its worth it? What if when he's too strong and breaks something important, that actually IS due, at least in part, to his own decisions. A superman with agency over his power, and all the good and bad that comes of it.

I personally think that's really really interesting! AND we still can have stories where other people try to get him to lose control and use his power against him! It's not mutually exclusive.

Anyway, I just wanted to put that out there, to explain my line of thinking. Regardless thank you for engaging with my work, and I hope everyone who reads this has a lovely day!

i use a...🏴‍☠️ version of photoshop 2022<3 because i got used to it while i had a legitimate license thru my art school. and then didnt want to pay for it. i own clip studio + have used krita in the past but they dont click for me </3

i also uhm. well 😳 perhaps have been using procreate :] thats what i used for my practice piece w/ tim yesterday ^_^ im still gonna use photoshop because im used to her and i enjoy some of the tools a lot but we'll see <3
