No fr, Arven would probs go home to Geeta crying his heart out, almost yelling at her but at the same time he just wants to run to her and let her comfort him and tell him it's going to be okay. That she's the one telling the truth. Right? Yeah, of course, Geeta has been nothing but kind to him, and Geeta took care of him, and she's like a mom to him now yknow. Geeta taught him everything he knows, even supported him in his passion for cooking, and even got him to meet his friends. And he looks up to her, tears still in his eyes, his words were caught in his throat, but Geeta knew exactly what to say.

She pulls him close, gives him the comfort that he needs, and quietly says "your parents had always been so paranoid.. they didn't trust me nor any of our friends.. perhaps before they died, they created those versions of themselves, so if anyone were to find them, they could tell them what happened." Then she pulls away, looks at him straight in the eyes, "but what they told you were lies. Their pride wouldn't let them admit they're the ones in the wrong." And ofc Arven believed her, and ofc it broke him even more that even beyond the grave his parents never really cared for him. And he let Geeta hug him, and it reminded him of his first night staying w her

Lance - Fire. Like, idk, I was going for air bc yeah he's like a Flying type trainer more than a dragon, but he has that vibes that he would bend fire hahah

Steven - Earth. Idk it'd fit him maybe hahah like his interest in stones and such and bending the earth around him would make it easier for him to navigate in caves and such

Wallace - Water. I yeah this one's a given hahahah

Cynthia - Earth. Tho Air also works hahah. Earth for the same reason as Steven, since that would be handy for her exploring caves and ruins too, plus her ace Mon is half ground type. But air also kinda works mainly bc she gives off the vibes hahaha

Iris - Air. The,, vibes. Hahaha. Idk, like, the main charac, Aang, she has that vibes, so ofc me being me just goes "oh, yeah, he's like Iris" plus it'd be dope if she's the only air bender amongst them and no one could really teach her much abt her own nation's bending art or smth so whenever she air bends the way she moves are similar to the other nations bending style and such (pfft imagine if she's the avatar in this too hahah)

Diantha - Fire. Solely for the fact that in my hcs she's terrified of fire since ofc her skin got burnt, and in this she can control fire (tho I also wanna add she doesn't ever use?? It?? Like she doesn't ever fire bend much bc the last time she did she panicked and accidentally burnt someone else, since then she stopped and people believed she's a non bender)

Hau - Water. Again, the vibes, it'd be cool to see him water bend tho, like him and Iris just training w each other and teaching each other what they know while the others are busy, and if we do go w avatar Iris concept imagine if that's how Iris learned how to water bend, all thanks to Hau. Idk it'd be cute if these two bonded and such and water being the first other element Iris learns bc of him hahah

Leon - ouughhh Earth or Fire. But I'm leaning more towards Fire bc of Zard hahah. But I also wanna say he doesn't ever use it much like Dia too, bc he knows people are kinda afraid of fire benders

Geeta - Earth. Again it's the vibes cbdndn tho I also wanna say the doesn't ever use it much, no angsty reason, for her it's just tiring and it takes a lot outta her, she'd only ever earth bend if the situation calls for it, any other day she'd probs just fight enemies head on hahaha

How bout y'all share your favorite ways to cope with a crash

Here are some of mine

1. I join close knit communities involving my interest/s and am active in them frequently. After a while, the people start recognizing me and when I share something I'm proud of (even if I made it pre-crash) some people will notice and comment on it, which boosts my confidence a little! My art means a lot to me and I tie most of my self worth on it, so people complimenting my art by extension compliment me too. You don't have to be an artist for this, just doing anything you're good at and you love and having people notice this might help you feel a bit better

2. When I'm having a somewhat minor crash (or right after a major crash when I've ridden it out and am feeling a bit better) I go on sprees where I do good stuff for people, I give money to the homeless, I buy gifts for my family members, I compliment a stranger etc, people usually notice this and thank me for it which also helps me feel a bit better about myself (note - I do these things one and off without crashes, but I usually binge-do-good when I'm feeling especially low hahaha) (dunno how much this one works about actually upping your ego, but I personally tie worth as a concept to being a good person, so actively and provably being a good person immediately helps me with perceiving my worth as a human being)

3. Tumblr drafts 😭😭😭😭😭 I've noticed that journaling and venting in my notes doesn't help because nobody sees it and the lack of attention makes me get even worse, and venting to people drives them away from me and makes me uncomfortable so I've avoided venting and I bottle up my emotions a lot which usually actually drives me into a crash in the first place. So I started writing and formatting my vents as actual tumblr posts that I'm totally planning to post, and I tag them and everything, but then I save them as drafts. This way, for some reason, my brain sees this as "yes. You will now post about what's bothering you and many people will see this and like and reblog this!!! You'll be so noticed and cool and get so much attention!!!" Which makes me feel better in the moment, except as I get better I forget about the drafted post so I also simultaneously save my privacy while I'm at it looollll

I mean arguably, all of these are for some mild-er crashes and usually for some bigger ones I don't really have a coping mechanism so I just lie in my bed, shake and feel cold for weeks until I finally get the energy to get up, but honestly even if I can make it a little bit easier for me, I will

I can totally see him doing small stuff that nobody would pay too much attention but you would absolutely notice, like trying to wake up before his alarm so that it would not wake you up, leaving breakfast ready for you before he leaves to work out, and although he's not into PDA he would totally guide you around to make sure you're safe aka hands on your back.

Homeboy is shy around too many people, but he's totally WILD around his close friends and you can bet he's probably into dirty talk in bed.

PROTECTIVE!BOYFRIEND!ENERGY! Will ask you to share your location every time you're out or ordering an Uber just to make sure you're safe and got home safe too since he cannot be there every time. Would love to have you as his backpack when he goes around and about using his bike, but he would always check if you were ok with the speed and feeling safe.

Besides acts of service and quality time, I think he has a tendency to gift giving, especially because he travels a lot so it's not uncommon for him to see something that reminds him of you, and mind you not, he doesn't even blink about price or whatever, he will buy whatever and do whatever for you, that simple.

His family is really important to him, so, of course, he would make sure you were included in most of their activities, he would love to watch you interact with his mom and sister.

I hope it’s okay to ask you but you seem to know everything about MCR so you might know. But I read recently that they were the designated bbq band on their first Warped in 2004 so they had to cook for everyone. Have you ever heard of that being the case? It just feels like a weird thing, with Ray apparently being a hermit in the bus and Frank being vegetarian and Gerard being blackout the whole time. I can’t imagine Mikey or Matt Pelissier holding down the fort.

haha yeah apparently so! warped tour was designed to be as efficient to run as possible because its primary purpose was to book up-and-coming bands and put them out there. it had a lot of weird components as a result - e.g. the sheer number of bands and locations, cheap tickets and free tickets for parents, and a constantly changing lineup schedule so attendees couldn't plan their day in advance around specific artists (so the artists were on a more ~equal footing and to encourage ppl to show up when the gates opened and stay all day). it was also notoriously gruelling and uncomfortable for the bands - really demanding schedule, no showers, etc etc.

so one of the things it did (along with showcasing local acts at each location) was invite a "bbq band" to join the tour for free and play every day if they helped run the nightly bbq that fed all the musicians. according to this podcast (around 17 mins in, but the whole episode is a short and really interesting listen, i recommend it!), mcr were that band in 2004 (they were only on the first half of the tour tho, june 25-july 18,24). i'm not sure exactly what his source is but he seems to know his stuff, and i'm almost positive i've heard gerard refer to it in an interview at some stage, though i can't remember when 😭. anyway, that doesn't mean they fully ran the bbq and were the only staff - they were just helpers! warped had a catering company and served a truly enormous amount of food every day, and apparently the artist's bbq was something like 300 hot dogs, 300 burgers, and 100 veggie burgers a night (all from that podcast). mcr definitely wouldn't have been doing that on their own, they were probably just helping out hahaha.

anyway, this was all in 2004, when the lineup included thursday, the used, tbs, coheed and cambria, the bouncing souls, etc. so revenge had only been out for like a month and they didn't have their own bus yet - i'm like 80% sure they stayed on senses fail's bus that tour, but i can't remember which one of them said that or where haha (they definitely shared a bus directly afterwards as they toured back towards nj).

after that is when they went to japan, came back, fired otter, and filmed inok, and went back on tour with bob and face to face all in the space of 2 weeks. that tour is when their van finally broke down for good and they got on their first own tour bus at the end of it.

the more ~famous mcr warped tour is 2005, which is the one with fob etc. i haven't seen lotms in a while but i actually assumed the bit where ray said he'd been a total hermit in the back of the bus was from that 05 tour, because that's the one they had the bus studio where he spent a lot of time writing parade demos. either way, he might not have been partying and socialising a whole lot, but i'm sure he would've sown up to bbq duty anyway! it was their free ticket, after all.

hi again!😅 i saw you had your requests open so i thought of this. reader is a famous supermodel (like bella hadid level) and is in a established relationship with idol!jaehyun since 2020. during last year’s the link+ in seoul she attends with her niece and nephew, (and you know how they vlog all bts of touring and stuff) so they appear in it and after the concert the camera records nct (cause the second day of the link+ members went to support) interacting with the kids and then the pair having a moment. it’s very specific i know 😫🥹, feel free to do whatever you want with it hahaha

okay so relationship with jaehyun will definitely not be easy. you guys went through a lot ever since your relationship got announced to the public, a lot of people were against it and such. but none of you expressed the want to break it off, both stayed strong and it was the reason why fans realized how serious you two were about the relationship, which made them to support the said romantic connection.

until then, they started to look forward to contents from you and jaehyun, especially the ones with kids!! oh how they love to see the couple interacting with children. it was one of their favorite things to see in your vlogs because they adore how you both treat the little ones as if they were your own.

their hearts melts when the camera pans to your niece and nephew holding banners that says, ''go uncle jaehyun!'' and ''uncle jaehyun is the best!''. the kids screaming along the thousands of fans, determined to be the number 1 fan of their uncle. if ever jaehyun failed to see where you were seated, worry no more because his group members would definitely mention your name every now and then during the concert. the staffs surely loved showing you supporting jaehyun with the kids and their little pompoms!

playing with the children after the concert, jaehyun usually exaggerates his reactions and expressions for the kids, praising them whenever they did or made something. while you stood by their side, looking out in case one would spill some food, caressing their backs if they ended up crying due to tripping over.

of course, the cliché game where jaehyun acts like the monster while you became the villager who needs help from the superheroes (the kids). it usually starts with you screaming, ''oh no! the monster is here, help!'' and jaehyun would automatically roar with his hands formed as claws. and it would end with your boyfriend dying dramatically, saying he can only be saved and revived again if he received a sweet kiss from a princess. the kids, bless their pure and innocent hearts, believed that you are the said princess and you should kiss jaehyun! saving him from his mystery so he won't be a villain again!

a clap and squeals of glee would be followed after you pecking jaehyun on his lips, your boyfriend grinning widely as he sat up, cheering with the kids.

the other favorite of the fans would be the part where you both would be settled in your room, most likely a hotel room, and would talk about how you felt for the day. it consists of sharing fun and memorable moments here and there and would eventually end up with telling how you were finally glad to spend some time with one another after a while

jaehyun often buries his head at the crook of your neck as he grumbled about how he misses you so much and seeing you today gives him a lot of energy for the next few concerts. he would hug you tightly, seeking comfort in your embrace and you would chuckle at his baby behavior, kissing his head a few times, cupping his cheeks as you expresses your longing for him as well.

the fans would swoon with being able to catch a glimpse of the sweet moment, it was rare for them to see jaehyun so vulnerable and so baby-like as he always fronts as someone independent and strong.

the vlog would end with the two of you sharing a sweet kiss and hugging each other for a moment, just enjoying each other's presence after being away for months. thanking them and bidding a temporary goodbye as you promised them yet another vlog.

you bet the fans would be left wanting for more, they just couldn't get enough with the lovely couple!

y/n called out. the young boy was trying to catch up to a young diluc, who seemed so full of energy and excitement.

“c’mon! there’s so much things i want to do with you!”

you laughed, running to walk next to your close friend. mr. crepus said he would be back soon, but it had already been an hour and the two of you were bored out of your minds. you were walking to mondstat city together, walking on the bridge leading to the entrance. the two of you awed at the tall buildings and the even taller windmills. everything seemed so lively. it was amazing, just how many things were there to entertain the duo. together, you laughed, made jokes, bought candy with money diluc found in his father’s drawer, and now you were sitting on a bench, legs hanging down the edge of the seat but not quite touching the floor. you were finishing up your bag of candy before throwing it away in a bin. you stared at the sun, which was starting to set. you sighed.

“maybe we should start heading back? i think your dad is back by now.”

you heard diluc grumble.

“already? time really goes by quickly.”

you laughed.

“maybe ‘cuz you’re having fun with me?”

diluc smiled.

“yea, i did have fun with you. we should head back now.”

diluc hopped off the bench, you copying his movements.

you headed back to the ragnvinder house, laughing and walking with diluc, hand-in-hand.

“sorry! i’m a bit tired.”

“y’know, you kinda say that a lot.”

“shush. i am.”

you were talking to diluc in the tavern, celebrating his birthday. you had yawned a few seconds ago, but it really didn’t matter to you at the moment. a blonde man, who was obviously a bit tipsy, came up from behind you making you flinch a bit.

“CONGRATS, MASTER DILUC!! YOU’RE AN ADULT NOW!!!”

this made a few heads turn, but everyone got back to their own drinks in a split second.

“COME ON, HAVE A DRINK!”

he thrust forward his own drink a bit, as if gesturing to diluc he should take a sip.

“thanks, but…”

he gave a quick glance to you, who already knew diluc was going to refuse.

“i’ll pass this time.”

you let out a soft chuckle. you looked around for anyone you recognized, even kaeya would suffice. however, you couldn’t exactly name everyone in the tavern at the moment.

“RIGHT! I FORGOT YOU WERE STILL ON DUTY!”

several laughs were shared around the man, diluc huffing out a small laugh himself. you felt a presence behind you, and you turned to see mr. crepus behind the crowd surrounding the bar. he came up the the loud, blonde man, and gave him. soft smack to the shoulder with his left hand

“hahaha! don’t worry! feel free to stop by our winery anytime and we’ll drink together to your heart’s content!”

“HOW GENEROUS OF YOU, MR. CREPUS!”

he wasn’t wrong. mr. crepus treated you as his own son, and even took you in when your parents eventually tried to get rid of you. you couldn’t pay him back in any way. he turned to you and diluc..

“let’s get going, diluc, y/n. we should head back home before it starts raining, don’t you think?”

“yes, father.”

diluc said, inching between the crowd to get outside while mr. crepus told everyone the tavern is now closed.

diluc and his father were having a conversation about the knights of favonius, while you stared at the ground. diluc was guiding the horses, and crepus was peeking his head out to talk to his son. you knew they would know if something went wrong, but something didn’t feel right. it felt like someone, something, was watching. you went back to the conversation when you heard a wooden box open.

“well…”

there was a pause.

“diluc… i’m so proud of you, my son.”

you stared the contents of the box. it had a glove, and an.. orb? attached to the top. at first glance, you would have assumed it might have been a vision, but.. it didn’t seem like one. it didn’t glow with the power of the archons, as doluc’s did. in fact, it almost seemed like the opposite. crepus then turned to you.

“and… y/n. thank you, for all of the good deeds you have blessed mondstat with. i’m glad i was able to be there for you.”

he said this in a much, much quieter tone. it made you concerned. what’s going on? why is he saying this all of a sudden? you felt the waggon stop, and the neighing on horses when you whipped around to speed outside. you were met face-to-face with a dragon. its glowing yellow eyes made you feel paralyzed. now really wasn’t the time to freeze, but your instinct told you to run, while your heart told you to stay and help the two red-haired men. your brain, overloaded, couldn’t do anything. diluc was clearly struggling, and him missing a weapon definitely didn’t help. crepus sprinted in front of you to help diluc, the glove that was in the box now equipped on his hand. your eyes widened and you leaped forward, trying to stop him from using it. it was a delusion, and while it gifts the user with incredible power, it also depletes the user’s life source by indescribable amounts.

you shouted, tried to grab him, yelled his name, but he continued to use the delusion. when the dragon lunged towards an injured diluc, breaking off the chains made by crepus’s delusion, you were the one supposed to save dilic. not crepus. it was never supposed to be crepus. there was hundreds, thousands of ways you could have saved diluc and crepus, but you failed every last one of them. now, you were standing next to a lifeless crepus, too shocked by how everything went by so fast you didn’t feel the tears flowing from your eyes. diluc was kneeling next to you, hands gently covering his wound, as if trying to heal them, to make him come back to life. you could barely hear kaeya’s shouts. the rain made your hair and clothes wet. you just stared. it was a pathetic sight. you probably didn’t notice you had wounds from the dragon, too. the only thing you could think about was how you wished to go back in time, just one minute, just to save crepus. the one you considered your own father. you didn’t notice kaeya behind you. you didn’t notice the yelling from other knights behind you. you didn’t even notice diluc stood up and started sobbing into your shoulder. you didn’t think of anything, the only thought that played over and over, like a broken record, in your mind was-

“i killed crepus.”

there were sightings of suspicious abyss mages at stormbearer point. you offered to take a look, considering the knights were busy at the moment. there were more monsters than you had expected, there being 3 abyss mages and a handful of hillichurls and a few mitachurls. and when a ruin guard showed up, you decided that it was probably a trap and you should run. you did. you really tried. but two ruin hunters showed up- you never even tried to take on more than one at once. there was no one nearby. there was no way of escaping.

you were exhausted. you knew you would have to take a break soon, as sweat covered your forehead and body. you were also mentally drained, too. it felt like your vision was tired from being used so much. the last ruin hunter was about to die, you could tell. by the way it clicked every time it moved, and the scratches, and the occasional pin popping out, there was no way it would last much longer either. when it suddenly disappeared, you panicked. you looked all around you, preparing your weapon. your vision was almost flashing. glowing, then glowing a bit less the next second, and repeat. it was almost like warning you to be careful. suddenly, you felt something pierce you from the back. you looked down to see one of the metal spikes of its arm, going right through your abdomen. you suddenly spurted blood from your mouth, covering your mouth quickly with the hand that wasn’t grasping your weapon. your vision flashed more violently as the spike left your body, and that seemed to deplete all of the ruin hunter’s energy too, as it fell to the ground and powered off. you collapsed to the ground in suit, feeling the blood trickle down your chin. you fell to your side, trying to keep the wound from getting worse, but you knew you were dead soon. the amount of blood you were loosing ensured it. you felt someone rush to your side, and your head being put on their lap. you creaked an eye open to see familiar red hair and eyes from above you. you let out a weak chuckle.

“hey, ‘luc. sorry you have to see me like this.”

you covered your mouth right after your sentence, more blood coming up your throat.

“no. no, no, no, no, no, no, no. not you too. please. you’re the last person i have-“

the last sentence was cut short, diluc’s words catching in his throat as his tears started to flow down his face.

he brought your chest up to hug you, getting your blood and grime on his clothes. his tears were absorbed by the cloth on your shoulder as he cried into your shoulder.

“hey. ‘luc, i love you. take care of yourself for me, yea?”

“don’t say that. please. help is coming- even barbara is coming- just hang on. please. stay with me.”

he sobbed into your shirt, clinging onto it with his hands.

“c’mon, there’s so much things i want to do with you.”

you laughed weakly one last time.

“sorry. i’m a bit tired.”

About love confessions.. Oh, that really gets me. I have this HUGE headcanon (almost an hyperfixation lol) they confessed their love to each other after Whole Cake Island. Yes, I know it's almost a cliché for them, but I still have some details in mind I haven't found in any fanfictions I read until now.

I love the idea of Nami feeling really guilty about not realizing Sanji's true intentions, but still feeling angry for all that happened. Sanji even though was really happy to be back, didn't know how to act around Nami.

They would be weird around each other for a day or two, until one night Nami decides to go after him to talk. Well, there is when my imagination goes wild lol

I wish I have the skill to write a fanfiction about this, but to summarize.. Nami would find Sanji looking like he just cried recently, or maybe still crying. She would feel even more guilty and angrier when he denies it, which will lead to a huge discussion. And I mean huge.

Nami would say everything in her mind. All the good and bad things she thinks about him, about herself (she'll just avoid the use of the "love" word, of course. She's not really ready for admitting such feelings). Things could get physical, breaking stuff, Nami really getting over Sanji, pulling and pushing him over, not knowing whether to get away or closer to him.

We know Sanji, right? He'd be very confused. But he is no fool. A small flame of hope would grow inside his heart. Could Nami actually have romantic feelings for him?

He is more honest to his feelings when it comes to love, specially to Nami. He wasn't sure how she would react, but he tought she already was so mad at him, what did he have to loose? So yes, I believe he would be the first to actually say it. But say it without heart eyes or nosebleeds. Holding her firmly, yet gently, so she wouldn't run from him. Say the "I love you, Nami-san" that really send shivers down her spine, made her legs feel weak and her heart racing.

Nami wouldn't react at first. She would just look at him for a few seconds, not realizing she actually start crying even more than she already was during their fight. When Sanji was starting to think he might shouldn't have done it, she grabs him by his collar and BAM, HOLLYWOOD KISS! 🤣 Really really intense kiss, yes.

Why? Because they would lose theirselves in each other's touch, not really having to think all those feelings through. Just feel them!

After several minutes, they'll have to stop at some point and face each other again. This time feeling a lot lighter than before, she'll finally say "I love you too, Sanji-kun".

Well, you can imagine it however you'd like from now on. I still have more headcanons over this, a few really NSFW 🫣 however, it already became such a long post, I'm sorry.. I get so excited about those two! Hope it made any sense for you guys 🤣🤣

Thank you for the super fast updates on the second story. Had to double check if I was dreaming or not. They were awesome and I’m looking forward for more. Hahaha I already had all of these chapters more or less drafted for ages so I’m able to get it written and posted quite fast at this stage! - Verity was born in the 90s but she loves 80s music and movies! She has very eclectic taste in music spanning all decades, but 80s is her favourite

- Verity has ALWAYS been a hopeless romantic despite never having any kind of romantic experience on Earth. Her whirlwind love story with Al is kind of her dream come true, even given the circumstances

it's been a minute, huh??? well hi there, just a quick update from me, your friendly local scavenger animal hiding behind park trash cans: this holiday season sure can...holiday, amiright???

alas, i'm not going to be sharing any snippets in this one since i'm currently focusing on secret santa stuff and to share that would be, y'know, defeating the whole 'secret' part of things 🤫 but i'm really, really hoping to get back into some flash fiction during the final 2 weekends of december, so if you're lookin' for some sort of NYE drabble this year, now's the time to start cookin' those prompt ideas in your brain hehehe

Anyways yeah in a nutshell

Champions were wronged by their people, they get pissed off, Diantha especially like this woman holds grudges like there's no tomorrow, and she believes she's above everyone else, wants to be seen as a god, so hey, the other champions were already fucked over by their own people, why not pull them in her lil scheme too

Iris wasn't that willing tho, despite the hate she gets from the region, she still believes that as champions they should protect their people. The other champions didn't take that lightly and ended up killing Drayden, so hey, it's easy to manipulate Iris now y'know

And yeah more fucked up shit they really just traumatize Iris lmfao until Hilbert and co noticed smth was def wrong w Iris so they try to get to the bottom of it, until the reveal of the champions like legit abusing Iris, and to the point that they had to battle Diantha and Yveltal w their OG Dragon

Altho iirc there is like,, an alt ending to that where either the Unova kids or Dia won. I do wanna say Dia's gonna die if the Unova kids wins, but if Dia wins shed probs wipe out the entirety of the Unova region and take in Iris as her successor as Kalos' Champion

But yeah I guess that's abt it hahaha I honestly forgot some bits since I really really wanna change a lot of stuff here, we have a ton of villain aus here and I wanna make like a definitive one, but yeah hahah

I was sketching out a possible funny comic (idk if I’ll finish, motivation zig zags) regarding that one scene of Jade and Pey’J , where Jade argues wirh Pey’J about it , as a “hahaha omg wasn’t that really messed up?” But than I thought:

“wow, if this show wasn’t cramming so much into 6 episodes and Jade wasn’t fridged, this would be an incredibly interesting but horrific plot thread to follow through”

We know from the official Eden site that Pey’J knew Jade since infancy and the show makes it a point he promised on her parents’ grave to protect her , which makes his confession in having romantic feelings for her all the more disgusting

I never played BGE, and I really wanna like him since I read he is a better (not into incest with kids he raised as his own) character in game , but I was actually kinda glad he died because I kept thinking of all the weird implications his love confession has, such as what were (or are depending on if he and Jade come back in season 2) the writers planning with that?

Like, the writers knew we didn’t have much time with these characters and so knew there wasn’t much time to see the depth of the relationship Jade has with Pey’J, so why make their last conversation Pey’J outting himself as someone attracted to his own niece?

I seen most people say it was a joke, which is just an odd thing to do when that moment could’ve easily been used to share more of Jade and Pey’J’s history and familiar bond with each other, thus make Jade’s death far more impactful than just “god I can’t believe that was their last conversation”. You could’ve still made that moment funny and awkward without incest!

A possibility (one which I’m dreading could happen if they come back in season 2) is that they genuinely wanted to have Pey’J and Jade together romantically , which is just …. Yikes, really yikes. Obviously as of writing this post we don’t know the writers’ intentions or the purpose of that scene in the larger narrative (if it even has one). I know that Alex is old enough to be Dolph’s dad but we can agree actual incest in the story of Laserhawk would be pushing it, right? (Or at least get characters with personalities and dynamic where that sort of situation would make sense!)

TBH I feel like that moment could’ve actually worked (or at least offer some interesting story stuff), if Pey’J was the one who died in episode two instead of Jade

(This part is more hopeful thinking what be the writers’ intentions than anything, tbh feel free to use this part as fanfic inspiration)

Think about it, Jade’s bio says she’s got a natural talent at reading people and makes it a career to haunt down the scum of Eden (like Pagan Min)

Which would make it all the more incredibly horrifying for her to learn her uncle was attracted to her

If Pey’J was the one died after telling her he found her attractive, Jade’s entire world and perspective of her life would be shattered, and she’d basically be left to pick up the pieces. All the sweet childhood memories she had with Pey’J would be tainted now, she’d question so much of her self and be haunted by the possibility Pey’J may be a groomer

and than…..wait….

Do Dolph and Bullfrog know about the incest?!

Like Sarah knows because she definitely overheard that conversation

Did Pey’J ever bring up he got a boner over his niece to his fellow ghosts before he died? Did Sarah tell Dolph and Bullfrog? Did the two get weird vibes from the sweet home Alabama pig man?

God , what were the writers thinking adding incest to this show?!

i wanted to ask whether you have any advice for writers that are just starting to publish. literally any modicum would be greatly appreciated.

it's really hard to assess whether one's writing is any good when literally no one ever reads it :( at the same time, I know I should write for myself first and foremost. can't help but want to be held accountable by the possibility of an audience, tho (maybe that's just my brain chemistry??) I fall into the pit of thinking "if no one's reading it, why am I even writing? I can daydream indefinitely and be satisfied. Why write?" Yet I always come back to writing; it's something magnetic.

it's not the same to ask close friends to read ur stuff bc they are ur friends, and may not give you the sincerity ur looking for so as to not discomfort u. conversely, they might not be interested enough so as to pick up on the fine details.

f/u question: how do you deal with publishing your work on the internet for free? does it ever scare you that strangers could copy and republish ur work without your knowing?

I guess that's one of my main apprehensions about posting loyally on writing platforms. I'm scared I'll write something I'm very proud of and have it plagiarized and not be able to track it back as my original property??

hiyaaa!! it's getting chilly, i won't lie, but other than that November has been pretty typical. likewise, i hope it's treating you well too!

honestly the fact you casually drop words like modicum probably suggests you're a paygrade above me in terms of writing hahaha

my answer is a long (srsly i just kept on going lmao) ramble, so I'll put a read more here haha

i've many lovely friends who i absolutely adore that I've met through writing that are now irls, but none of my friends that i know independently outside of writing have ever read my stuff - I've even got irl friends who are deep in the ao3 trenches, who are paying for other tannie writers' patreons, but we have an unspoken rule that my work is not to be read by them. i just don't let my friends read my work, full stop, so i get that sentiment.

the thing is, humans are naturally inclined to be storytellers - it's been that way for thousands of years. our tales are meant to be told. sharing is just a very human thing for us to do.

I've been publishing on wattpad (within the tannie space) for 4 years, now. readers didn't appear overnight - i actually recently found a screenshot of you up? from march 2021. it had 28 parts, 2.03k reads and 313 votes.

it now sits at 62 parts, 1.45million reads and 55k votes.

that's a little bit perspective for you, i guess - i'd written half of an entire novel that was averaging around 70 reads per chapter, but i loved that world, and i had story to tell, so i told it. some people viscerally hated it, some loved it. i was writing for me, and the numbers prove that. if you worry about the numbers, you'll never satisfied.

similarly, comparison is the thief of joy, or so they say.

comparing yourself to other writers is never healthy. there are far more 'successful' authors on wp in terms of reads, but i genuinely mean it when i say i think i have the most fulfilling and rewarding space on tannie wp because my readers are so unbelievably lovely. i wouldn't trade my current readership for bigger numbers, not a chance.

in terms of plagarism, there are 170,000 words in current use within the english language, and 36 plot types. we've exhausted a lot of them, already. overlap and similarities are bound to occur, so i try not get fixated on it.

take cv for example - i was so gassed up with myself when coining the terms mono and multi, only to find out after i'd finished writing the story that there was a drama with a similar concept that also used the term mono for a similar condition that aired after i'd already started writing cv. overlap happens.

similarly, we're a product of the media we consume. endeavour is my favourite word, because it was in a song i liked when i was a teenager and it stuck with me. i use it all the time, and we can trace it back to the pen of alex gaskarth lmao.

I've seen readers of mine publish work that's been heavily inspired by my work - with and without 'permission' - and i just sort of shrug my shoulders whenever i notice it.

the way i see it, we'll never tell the exact same story. likewise, no two readers will ever read identical texts the same way. i encourage creativity, and know how important it is for me to empty my brain, so I'll never go for someone's throat for doing the same. that's how myths were born, right? people telling and retelling the same stories over and over again? how am i gonna write a romeo & juliet x greek mythology inspired fic and then get annoyed for someone taking inspo from me?

just like the way hair will always grow back after a terrible cut, new words can always be written after a disappointing discovery. idk, i just don't take it very seriously, i guess.

as for whether or not your writing is any good - it's totally subjective. there are people who have explicitly, publicly stated their disdain for my writing. I've had cruel opinions about my writing projected and amplified to large followings. and it sucks.

but there are people who have been exceptionally kind about my writing, too. i get some of the loveliest messages in the world. there are tiktoks with hundreds of comments of just unadulterated loveliness directed towards my work. I'm afforded so much grace and love that it can be overwhelming at times.

not everything is for everyone, and that's okay. you can't let yourself get hung up on pleasing everyone.

the one thing i will say, is that if you're seriously concerned about your IP, write original characters, and use wattpad as your platform. i know they have a reputation, but they give a shit about copyright infringement and the second someone gets reported for plagiarism, they'll investigate it, and take down the story.

no reward without risk - you gotta decide if the risk of plagiarism is worth the reward of sharing your work.

and plus, ai is taking over anyways. may aswell write while we still can lol.

so i guess tl;dr - don't let outside influence impact your internal need to create. the right readers will find your work eventually, but it's not an overnight miracle kinda thing. if i stopped writing just because i didn't see results in my stats, then i would have stopped after kumiho, and we'd have never gotten throttle, or bd, or anything else of mine you might have read.

do it because you love it, and it fulfils you. i love the communities built around my stories, and that's why i share them. writing without sharing doesn't fulfil me in the same way.
