lots of encanto AUs i want to talk about so here you go

so uh, i've been brain rotting and hyperfixating on encanto for a bit now, and its been very fun

tho i've barely talked about some of the ideas and aus i have and want to share, so i guess i want to do that now in a way, so uh... (mirabel voice) lets go lets go

1. Time Travel AU

first au i've ever thought about, cool hue sisters centered, because i love them sm and i was still finding my footing in encanto and the fandom when i thought of this au, and yeah

its where isabela and luisa get sent back to the past after going after and protecting mirabel as casita falls

i gained the idea after seeing how the two older sisters were still so terrified of alma and disappointing her that they couldn't stand up for mirabel and for themselves, but as casita was falling, they weren't about to let their baby sister go, not after everything

despite this being the first au, its also still really vague and barebones in a sense, not much planned yet and its all just vibes, plus i just really wanted a cool sisters au because i love them sm

2. Big Hero 6 AU

ah yes, big hero 6 au, my beloved

came to be when i figured out bear aka @gamerbearmira's reference in one of her encanto one shots, the scooby doo one where they got arrested, and she used bh6's aunt cass' rant for alma's rant in said one shot, and then it led me to realize the potential of encanto big hero 6 au with bear, so that was fun

there's a bunch more info that we haven't shared yet, but it's all written up in the docs for it, so yesyes

honestly been a bit since i touched the au personally, as i keep getting distracted by the other ones below

but yeah, planning on exploring of this au soon <3

3. [Redacted] AU

ah yes, this au, the 120 and counting pages one in my docs

and the 120 pages are mostly just details and planning for the au, not a single written thing yet

this au is not called redacted au, but the name itself is redacted because the word itself is a bit of a spoiler and im still trying to find a better name for it in general

i have no idea how to explain this au

first thing to mention is how its very much inspired by Take Back the Kingdom by @optimistic-violinist and @impossiblefangirl0632 (sorry for the tag, i can take it out if you'd like) and i really really recommend this fic, its so so good and it changed my brain chemistry on so many levels

so yes, i really got inspired by this fic, and it will very much be shown in this particular au with some things and tropes, but ofc im doing my own spin on stuff and the details, and from what i have rn, i think it really evolved and is still evolving as time goes on

another thing to note about this is how the idea came to be because of TBTK inspiration and a dream i had on the day i was taking a metaphysics midterms exam (this is completely unnecessary to mention but oh well, i still remember that moment so vividly)

the dream impacted just exactly how this au is going to go

what is the dream about? you'll find out whenever i get to write this au

all i can say without spoiling much is that there are lots of memory shenanigans and angst, plus the very fun trope of "your found family is your actual family"

also once more, read take back the kingdom, very good fic, 11/10, much recommend, will reread again

4. Ghost Cocoon AU

this au is the fusion of the Cocoon au and the Ghost Grandkids au, both still found in @/gamerbearmira's blog

ghost grandkids au is from @jerseyk112 and cocoon au is from @raefever, and ofc bear has a lot of ideas and thoughts for these aus in her blog

i was rereading bear's cocooned fic for the 17123723507 time and while i was at it, i remembered the ghost grandchildren au, so i decided it would be pretty fun to fuse the two aus together in some way

and so i did (first ask, second ask)

basic premise of this au is really just the ghost kids' healing and them protecting their younger selves and their family

this fusion au interested me so much that it got to the point where i actually wrote a 3683 word first chapter of sorts(?) for this fusion au already (bear has seen it but i havent posted it at all)

planning on continuing it when i feel like it tho hehe

so yes its been wild with this one

5. Giftless Grandkids AU

giftless grandkids au, my beloved

just as the name says, au where all the grandkids are giftless

all i can say is everything and nothing changes all at the same time with this

this au was sent and suggested by an anon in bear's blog

this is also the one where bear and i went wild on for the past few days

pretty sure bear is gonna be writing this au, if im not mistaken? so its very exciting

there's a lot in store for this au and it'll be fun

6. Undertale AU

not the type where the characters are these characters tho

this idea is where we'll be throwing the grandkids into the underground for an adventure of a lifetime!

so basically characters of one media meet characters of the other media type

and the kids are gonna be going through the plot of undertale, technically in frisk's shoes here

this au is still very vibes and not much planned, there's lots of potential to play around tho, so im thinking of exploring this at some point soon

7. Gravity Falls AU

gravity falls au this time!!

now this au is the one pure vibes one, absolutely zero planning or thoughts, just vibes and aspirations for it

not even sure if it'll be like the undertale au where characters of one media will meet characters of the other media or if it'll be characters from this media are gonna be these characters of that media in this au

i just thought it would be fun to have an encanto gravity falls au idea, but still dont know where it'll be going in general

Broken Hearts Made Whole

Encanto Boxcar Children AU

As requested by @jerseyk112 here’s the full summary of this au from my AU Ideas post.

First a quick review of the background:

In this world, some people are just born with magical gifts (or because one or both of their parents have gifts). Not everyone accepts this magic and some families reject children with gifts.

Also, Encanto is just a normal (if isolated) town that is very accepting of magic. Pedro doesn’t die young and he has a gift. Julieta, Pepa and Bruno are born with their gifts. Pedro’s gift is the ability to enchant objects by putting in a little of one’s soul. He made bracelets for the triplets so they can always find each other and Casita was his dying gift (it’s where his soul resides).

Story:

Isabela’s parents kick her out because she has the power to control plants and she is forced to live on the streets, moving from town to town and selling flowers to survive. A few years later, she finds Luisa, who was kicked out of her orphanage because of her super strength and they agree to be sisters surviving together. A couple years after that, they find an orphaned Mirabel and make her their sister as well.

Dolores’s parents die and the relatives she goes to afterwards abandon her (she believes it has something to do with her super hearing). She lives on the streets and moves around a little, savaging and pickpocketing to survive. After a few years, she finds Camilo, who was abandoned because of his shapeshifting, and they become brother and sister. A couple years later, they find a baby boy named Antonio who was abandoned because animals kept crowding around him (they later figure out that he can talk to animals) and make him their brother.

A few months later, the two trios of siblings meet and decide to become a family. They settle in an abandoned boxcar or old building (I haven’t decided yet) in a clearing outside a city and take care of each other. Dolores takes care of the little ones while Isabela sells flowers and Luisa does odd jobs around the city disguised as a boy to earn money.

Meanwhile, in the small town of Encanto, the Madrigals are unhappy. Both Julieta and her husband Agustin and Pepa and her husband Felix long for children, yet all they get are miscarriages and stillbirths despite the best efforts of Julieta’s gift. After Pepa has her second stillbirth and Julieta has her third within a few months of each other, Bruno decides to have a vision to see if his sisters will have children and sees them each with three children but he can’t see any births or pregnancies.

A few years later, after Pedro’s death and Pepa’s third stillbirth happen in the same year, the Madrigals decide to take a trip to the nearby city for a month to take their minds off things. Within the first week, Julieta and Agustin meet Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel, when Agustin saves Mirabel from getting run over, and Pepa and Felix meet Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio, when Camilo uses his shapeshifting to cheer Pepa up when she’s thundering and separated from Felix. Upon seeing the children, Bruno immediately recognizes them as his sisters’ children from his vision, but decides not to say anything yet. Eventually, the Madrigals learn about the children’s situation and try to help them, and they slowly gain the children’s trust and affection.

Then less than a week before the Madrigals are set to return to Encanto, Luisa bangs on their door in the middle of the night because all of the children are sick. The Madrigals nurse them back to health and in the process the children decide they want to be part of the family. Julieta and Agustin adopt Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel while Pepa and Felix adopt Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio. They take the children home to Encanto and give them the best lives possible. And Bruno’s vision comes true.

I actually really like the idea of @blackfire493 and @jerseyk112 (why can’t I tag??). But as Jersey already guessed, it would make more sense if Isa and Lola saw Agustín as their parent.

I mean, he cared for them while in Bogota. He tried and taught the girls a few things. He took them to a better place to live before knowing they where related.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t see Bruno as their favorite Tío! :D

As for the whole “What are parents?” thing, I can see it going like this:

Isabela: “Abuela, what is a parent?”

Alma: “Parents are people who have always taken care of you.”

Dolores: “So, the four people that took and hurt us are our pa-“

Alma: “NO! No! They aren’t!”

Isa and Lola: ??

Alma: “A parent is someone who cares for you, who teaches you new things, and who loves you no matter what.”

Isa and Lola: “Okay! Thanks, Abuela!”

Alma: “Now, they can finally be attached to Juli, Pepa and Félix-“

Isa and Lola, aggressively holding one of Agustín’s arms: “Hes our dad now!” :D

I colored some quick sketches of Oliver before he sets out on his journey (Thank you jerseyk112 for the name suggestion!!!)

- They used to live in Unova before moving to Pallet Town when Oliver was around 2 - 3 years old. Ash and Iris wanted their Pokemon + Oliver to grow up in a rural area where they could play and roam freely in a large garden - far away from the annoying paparazzi. As a huge bonus Delia lives right across the street. When Ash or Iris have to travel because of champion business, Delia will happily take care of Oliver. This way Oliver became very close to his grandma. He will happily help her with cooking, gardening and take care of all the pokemon

- Speaking of pokemon - when he was only a couple of months old he was quite fascinated of Iris’ Dragonite. Dragonite, proud and powerful, is skeptical towards this soft, tiny human and tries to stay out of its way. When Oliver learns to crawl he would happily follow Dragonite, much to his dismay. Even if he growls at Oliver, Oliver will just laugh. Dragonite will never admit it, but he soon learns to like Oliver’s company.

- Whenever Iris or Ash have an important battle ahead of them, Oliver adopts Iris’ habit of painting his face, dressing up and dragging along drums to the stadium to cheer his parents on. Iris thinks its the most adorable thing! He grows out of this phase later on, though, and gets embarrassed whenever his parents brings this old habit up.

- Oliver sleeps like a rock. When he was a baby people would tell Ash and Iris how lucky they were for being able to sleep through the night. Later on, during his journeys, it causes Oliver a hassle though, because he keeps sleeping through his alarms.

- Oliver HATES to be compared to his parents who both became champions at a young age. Thankfully Iris and Ash quickly became aware of this problem, but they can’t always shield him from such comments...

- Oliver has a rivalry with Gary Oak’s son, Bryan. Ash was super happy that Oliver would have someone the same age to play with when they moved to Pallet Town, but, it was hate at first sight :P Aside from Bryan, Oliver usually gets along well with other kids.

- Although neither his parents can really cook, he has picked up a few tricks from Delia. He is FAR from a gourmet-cook, though!

- He adores his uncle Pika. Ash usually asks Pikachu to look after Oliver whenever he leaps off to play in the forest/ meadows.

- Nags his parents for a little brother. Realizes later on that he should have appreciated his time as an only child more when he gets a little sister lol.

- Ash and Iris hint that they want him to get a Dragon-type/ Kanto-starter as Oliver’s first pokemon. Oliver ends up with an Sneasel, much to Ash’s amusement and Iris’ fright

Omf but y'know even better, imagine them training at Dragonspiral Tower, near the coldest place of their region, in the middle of winter. They said it's to face their fears, to overcome their trauma, even just a bit, some progress y'know, plus they told their grandpa they'd be home before dinner. So yeah that didn't happen lmfao

Snowstorm happened, them getting stuck inside Dragonspiral Tower, with no way to get out and no way to go home. Iris was suppose to fly them back home a few moments ago, but that's when the blizzard kicked in and now they're stuck. Even better, there was no signal there, they can't contact their grandpa or anyone to help them get out, and even w Iris' Hydreigon and Salamence's Fire Blasts and Drayton's Flygon's Fire Punch, it wasn't enough to penetrate the ice and the snow. It was so much like Kyurem's Glaciate.

God just hcndbd Drayton paling at that, it was getting cold too, he didn't like it, he's there looking at Iris like he's close to crying. Iris said it's gonna be fine, she'll find a way to get them out, as she gives him her coat to warm him up. He almost didn't accept ofc, what abt her, but she insisted, saying she'll be warm when she ventures deeper into the tower, she's going to find a way out. Imagine her leaving a few of her pkmn w him tho, her Hydreigon and Salamence especially since they're the only ones that know Fire type moves, they can make a bonfire for him to keep him warm.

But also, as Iris ventured deeper and going up the tower, she's starting to feel the bite of the cold, god it's bitter cold, it reminds her so much of what happened back then. But she can't give up, she has to find a way to get outta here, and she cannot be feeling weak, no, she canNOT show weakness especially since her lil brother is waiting for her

But just chxnbd ough, your honour, her almost getting to the top of the tower, she's so close, maybe she can find a way to get outta there, maybe the storm has gone down, maybe they can finally go back home, but the cold was getting to her, she can feel it deep in her bones, everything is so numb, her vision was turning blurry. God imagine her just passing out just as she was abt to reach the top too, collapsed from the cold, everything was cold, so so cold, Arceus it's so fucking cold. The last thing she heard was her Haxorus suddenly coming out of its pokeball.

Anyways, I’ve been thinking about the Masters Eight tournament and I’m still disappointed with how it was handled

And I know you don’t care much for the Anime, but just hear me out about how I think it should’ve went

The competitors should’ve been Ash, Iris, Cynthia, Diantha, Steven, Alder (not totally sure about him), Wallace, and Lance (they’re not ranked in this order). With Leon being the final challenge to the winner

I hated that Leon was a competitor because it just guarantees that whoever he faces is automatically going to lose

But yeah, I just think if it’s the MASTERS Eight then it should be the strongest trainers. Which are the Champions both present and past, hence Wallace and Alder being here

I’m kicking Alain out because he just felt like he was chosen as a competitor at the last minute when he had no true reason to join the PWC. Plus he ain’t a Champion

Another thing I was annoyed with was the Battle Field, like if you look at the Kalos League battle field in the Anime, it actually looks cool and had different battle fields. It wasn’t a generic rectangular box. The Masters Eight should’ve at least had a nicer looking battle field than…what they gave us

Last thing I want to rant about, but ALL battles should’ve been 6vs6 and not 3vs3 in the first round. The battles would’ve been so much better to watch if they were full battles

But yeah, it would’ve been a great send off if Ash had competed with the Champions from each Region, won the tournament, and then won the title of World Champion from Leon as the final challenge

The way they handled the Masters Eight was smth else man it was such a cool concept but the way they executed it is just cnmdndjd😭😭

It would've been so cool if it was like that bc for one, why is Alain there, and two you are so goddamn right abt Leon like he's always gonna win against anyone, plus I'm hella fucking salty over the Diantha vs Leon fight as you can see owo

But real why is Alain there😭 for fanservice??? He and Ash didn't even fight and you can tell I'm also salty over that Lumiose Conference battle lmfao the way I started hating Alain and Zard X bc of that yes I'm that petty— also why the fuck is he a rank higher than Iris💀

I do like that it's the Champions for the Masters Eight tho, it checks out bc they're the strongest of each region, but w Alder, as much as I love him, isn't he retired? What I always picture was the Champions plus Raihan, bc iirc, I think in the manga?? I'm not sure but I read that Leon always had to figure out a new strategy against Raihan bc he's always close to beating him, so if it's not Alder, I pitching in Raihan

So my ideal Masters Eight is Lance, Steven, Wallace, Cynthia, Iris, Diantha, Ash, and Raihan; Leon then being the final boss to see if the current number 2 can be number 1

Speaking of the M8 y'know, how does the ranking system of theirs even work? Cause yeah there's still the Ultra trainers, the top two of those being Raihan and Drasna. What I'm saying is,, should the competitors battle within Wyndon Stadium to be counted in it or do they have some sort of trainer card registration thing that automatically knows how many battles you had and how much you improved as a trainer? Idk bc I haven't watched the anime since hahaha

But yeah with the stadium and the battlefield right it's so goddamn plain😭 what I had in mind that would've been more of a challenge was smth similar to Kalos' field but also having control of the weather, like, if it's the ultimate challenge, then the Champions/M8 should be able to adapt depending on the weather of the field, whether it be raining, sunny, hailing, or if it's a sandstorm, to see how resilient they truly are, how they can make a disadvantage into an advantage, it would've been cool to see ig

Also as much as I despise all those "this is Ash's ultimate team" videos in yt bc they're basically all his aces, for this, I really wished he could've used all his aces because come on, you're gonna challenge the different champions of different regions with a team you just trained? Like he really won against Steven and Cynthia with a recent team, and ik he had training but c'mon man, the M8 aren't pushovers, might as well bring your strongest mons to have a fighting chance against them (I remember someone actually writing a fic abt that, of Ash using his previous pkmn, using a different team depending on the champion he faced and it was really dope cnmdnd).

But yeah, it's just,, well it could've been better but hey hahah

Your honour that's so fucked up I can only imagine Drasna really going through it but also still trying to comfort Augustine, but they're both really so out of it man, especially how Drasna knew of the threats Dia's mother said to her; Drayden's there on the hunt for Plasma, just letting his rage out on all the grunts he sees, the sages, until he gets to Ghetsis himself; Joseph couldn't handle it man, he already lost his wife now he lost his son, the sound of Steven's screams haunts him; god Lisia too, the only family she had left and now he's being drowned, and she cursed the irony of it, of Wallace being so drawn to the waters but it's also one of the reasons for his death; Cyn's sister and grandparents tho chdmdb like Cyn's sis knew Cyrus was her friend, and she couldn't believe Cyrus would do that to Cynthia; and then there's Hop, crying his poor little heart out, screaming for his brother, the once great champion of Galar reduced to nothing but a chew toy for those pokemon.

But for the not evil Geeta thing imagine if she did hid herself tho, and everyone else called her a coward. But that was the last thing Diantha told her, Dia made her promise to hide, like what she said to Iris, to just hide, to not let Giovanni find her. But that backfired on Geeta tho, and now everyone, especially the family of the other Champions, called her cowardly, how she couldn't even try to help her fellow champions, how she couldn't even try to save them. But man that would haunt her too, having to watch Diantha die, having to watch her friends die, it fucked her up so so much and she hated herself so much that she didn't defy Diantha and went to her side to help her

As for the league members thatd join Team RR

For Kanto idk, since in the manga majority of em was associated w Rocket,, well let's go w that. Sabrina, Surge, and Blaine are my top three for that, tho I wanna say Blaine was blackmailed into joining bc he was one of the people who made Mewtwo. Green would be against them tho, I know the Kanto trio would team up w the rest of the Gym Leaders to stop them.

For the Johto leaders, I really can't see any of them joining Team RR, even if they're threatened I think some or most would rather go down w a fight than to join em. For the Indigo E4, low-key I think Koga and Will would join em.

For Hoenn's league, Norman. And for Sinnoh to Unova none of em they'd be against RR, Unova especially man they really fought tooth and nail to stop Plasma only for Plasma to be part of RR and is now more threatening than before. For Kalos, I honestly think Lysandre would threaten and blackmail Malva to joining again, idk if she'd cave in or not bc holy shit™. Alola to Paldea, none too, idk, bc Alola didn't want to be part of it ofc, their league is still fairly new, most of their members are children, if anything I wanna say they'd try to fight them off if they do get to their region. The Galarian people got Rose Tower demolished man they're so fucking pissed at Rose, no one's ever seen Raihan and Sonia that pissed before too like these two especially want to hunt down Rose. And for Paldea, well, not only are they mourning the other Champions but also mourning and kinda hating on their own Champion too, my guy, Geeta's really going through it, she doesn't wanna lose anyone else, so she keeps an eye on her league members within the shadows, to make sure none of them ever join RR

KNIGHT I GOT ANOTHER AU IDEA FOR THE CHAMPIONS

You ever watched Final Destination? Or any of its sequels? Anyways if you haven’t, it’s pretty much starts with a group of people getting into an accident and all of them dying with the main character seeing everyone’s death before dying themselves. But then the MC “wakes up” a couple of minutes before the accident happens, they make a scene and scare the people in that group into getting away from the accident, saving their lives. But then they all start dying in the order the MC saw because Death is coming for them

Anyways, for this AU we’re gonna ignore the last sentence cause it wouldn’t work with this AU. I just needed something for an example

For this AU idk who we’re going to make the “Main Character” whether it be one of our favourites, Diantha or Iris, or one of the other champions?

Or maybe even ALL of the champions saw their deaths? Idk you can chose your favourite

But yeah, the scenario I had was either the Villain teams from each region kidnap and kill the champions in a show of power, to say that even the strongest trainers cannot stop them, or a Pokémon causes mass destruction around the world and none of the Champions would stop it

For the first scenario if we go with it, I imagine the villain teams teamed up with each other to form Rainbow Rocket, and decided to announce their alliance by killing the champions and declaring the world is THEIRS to rule

Like they sent grunts and admins to attack the cities where the Champions live. I fully believe the Champions are capable of winning this fight but for people like Lance, Cynthia, and Iris, they have family living in the same city/town. I bet they used that to their advantage and went after Drayden, Clair, and Cynthia’s sister and practically used them as a shield. Told the champions to surrender and mocked them for choosing to save their family over the thousands of people they could be saving instead

So yeah, they all eventually get kidnapped one way or another and get killed by Team Rainbow Rocket. But then they wake up a few days before it happens with the knowledge of what’s to come within the next days

But idk, it’s 11:00pm and if you have a better scenario then I’d love to hear it. Or if this makes much sense lmao

No shit I and my friends only saw some of the death scenes in those films lol and we watched it in the school's library back then during our elementary years hahahah it was an experience man, surprising we didn't get caught especially w how gory it was hahaha

But like yknow, imagine too bc if that came to them as a dream, just how much of it will they actually believe?? I haven't watched any of the films btw so like spare me if some of the stuff I say doesn't fit hahah but y'know, some aren't even sure if it's truly a premonition of their deaths, or if it's just a bad dream and nothing more. Cause maybe some of them were sceptical abt it, maybe they were just being paranoid y'know, but it's also a bit of a wake up call that yeah they have to deal with the evil orgs as soon as possible lest the nightmare turns to a reality, and they'd rather not risk that

They'd be so paranoid tho real, like, imagine Lance being more desperate to find Rocket and finally put an end to them, he's losing sleep bc of it, looking at every nook and cranny on both Johto and Kanto; Steven and Wallace didn't think Aqua and Magma would be such a threat, Sootopolis became so heavily guarded now, the orbs were with Wallace; Cynthia's like really stressed out man, making sure Dawn and Barry doesn't get involved and coming in terms her childhood friend is probs really gonna kill her if she doesn't stop him; Iris became more adamant on stopping Plasma too, almost as desperate as Lance, but there's also that fear that maybe if she leaves Opelucid to hunt down Plasma smth might happen to Drayden; Diantha is also stressed af my guy, if smth happens to her brother, that's really gonna be her villain origin story and if anything, she'll dragb Lysandre to hell with her; Hau's not sure how to approach it too cause y'know, Lusamine is his friends' mother, what whould Gladion and Lillie even say, I mean tbf their relationship w Lusamine isnt all that well anyways, but still, maybe he'd be more cautious now; Leon already had a bad feeling abt Rose, so now he's making sure Hop and Gloria doesn't get too close to the chairman, if whats in his dreams are true, then he has to find the legendary wolves too, and who else knows more abt it than Sonia; Idk what kinda stuff Geeta would have to deal w anyways, maybe the AI profs?? But that'd be dope tho if they become somewhat sentient enough and like, idk, hc that Geeta and Sada/Turo aren't in good terms, and like the AI got corrupted maybe?? Not sure w this one hahah

But man that's dope, like, the paranoia y'know, having to see in great detail just how they're gonna die, and if not them, then their loved ones, or even the people of their region

I imagine the champions get bullied by their Pokémon sometimes

Like Hau bought a Malasada for himself but Decidueye keeps bothering him for some, and Hau is refusing to give him a piece cause, he’s a big bird, a piece isn’t big enough and Hau wants some for himself. So Decidueye does the only logical thing, and spirit shackles Hau to the his chair and walks away with the half eaten Malasada

Even Diantha and Gardevoir being pissed at each other all day for some reason. So when Diantha finally got home from a long day at the Kalos League, Gardevoir gets out her pokeball and just fucking, teleports both her and Diantha back to the League and then teleports herself back home. Leaving Diantha alone

Or imagine if Cynthia is letting her Pokémon run around in the snow and when it’s time to go home they all go into their pokeballs except for Lucario. And like the dog Pokémon it is, starts barking and runs off further in the distance. Completely ignoring Cynthia and making her chase him through the snow

Steven may be rich and definitely bought everything his Pokémon could need and more. But imagine how many bed frames Steven had to buy in his lifetime cause Metagross, despite having a custom made bed made for his size, decided Stevens bed was the best one to sleep on. Bro never moves despite how much Steven pleads with him

And I know for a fact Iris’ Lapras had used sing on her to put her to sleep, so she and the rest of Iris’ Pokémon could raid the snack cupboard. Girly really just told the other Pokémon to leave the room, put Iris to sleep, and then called them back in. Druddigon at least had the decency to carry Iris to her bed

So there’s 8 gifts in the movie, and 8 champions

I think you know where I’m going with this

But I just thought to myself, the Champions are technically the protectors of their regions. But their only defences are their Pokémon

So what if Arceus saw humans appoint certain humans the title of “Champion”, saw these certain humans protected the weaker humans, and decided they needed something else to help protect the humans on earth, and decided to gift them powers

And no, this isn’t going towards a super hero AU. It’s heading towards a god AU

But yeah, Arceus decided these humans needed more than Pokémon to defend themselves and others, and gifted them powers

And when I said this is turning into a god AU, I didn’t mean the champions consider themselves gods, but the people of their regions do. At the very least Demigods

Because in their eyes, their Champions got blessed by Arceus, the god of all life in the universe and he who knows best

Really this is just the champions expectations, but 10x worse cause now they’re looked at like gods

(Also I don’t know if this has gone on for centuries, and every new champion gets a new power while the previous champion loses theirs. Or if the present champions are the first ones to receive gifts, you can decide which one you like more)

Oh and while they are powers, they can still be referred to as gifts in this AU because Arceus gifted the Champions with them

But also it would be so so cool and it's so self indulgent bc I think Iris deserves dope things, that she does have a gift, it was still untapped, but she does have it, she has Arceus' powers herself maybe, that'd be cool, but ofc she doesn't know yet bc it's not as clear and prominent as the rest, so as she grew older, still trying to prove herself to everyone, she's desperately praying to Arceus to at least give her a gift too, she was a strong and competent champion, so why doesn't she have one

But ough she does she fucking does, Arceus took one good look at her and decided she's the one to truly inherit his power to protect the world, the way she could really help the other Champions with their power as well, the way she could give others gifts as well, the way she could do all the things Arceus could do, but she never realized it just yet

No cause there are nine champions so there should be one who doesn't have a gift hahah and me being me gave Iris the main charac card once again hahahah

But don't you think that'd be dope?? Idk it's dope for me that Iris could really use the move Judgement, but it's also cool to see her bond with the other Champions learning abt their gifts too, and then being the one to help them open up about their gifts

Cynthia felt like shit, she doesn't want to tell Iris about it, she couldn't handle the disappointment, the hurt, everything; so she ran away, hid herself from both her league and the rest of the champions

And since Arceus gave his powers to Iris (tho I wanna say he gave Hau his gift first before finally giving Iris everything he has), he couldn't give another person Cynthia's gift, also it's the fact no one's taken her title yet, she doesn't want anyone to take the champion title, she doesn't want anyone to go through the same shit she went through both before and after getting the gift

The only thought bouncing around in my head is that when Iris told Hau that her favourite games are first person shooters, the first thing he said was “you really are Unovan”. Man said it without thinking and they thought it was the funniest shit at the time. Iris always bring it up whenever they play fps together

Anyways, do Iris and Hau ever try get the older champions to play video games with them? Imagine them trying to tell each of the champions what buttons do what and one of them (preferably Lance) says the whole “back in my day we just had two buttons and a joystick”. And once they get the hang of the game controls, it’s just chaos. They’re all yelling at each other and throwing insults left and right

God, imagine playing Mario Party with them. No one would be safe

Also that's fucking cute tho??? Iris and Hau just teaching the older champions abt new games and such and asking em to play w em and I'm gonna end up rambling again bc champions as found family doing mundane stuff just makes me soft

Lance definitely would say that tho checks out too bc Cynthia even makes fun of him how he doesn't know how to use his phone that much hahaha but hey he's vibing tho, he likes seeing the kids happy, although he's still a little bit confused by the controls. They do find out tho he also likes fps games, and now Hau has to deal w not one, but TWO bloodthirsty and rage filled champions when it comes to those games. Lance swears like crazy when playing he rages like no shit, and that's how Hau discovered every cuss word in the book

Now Steven likes Mario Party w them, he said it's fun and he thinks the character dice are cool too, he likes the design. But honest to God he fucking hates losing. This man has the most passive aggressive aura when he fucking loses I shit you not. Like they could be playing Mario Kart and someone blue shells him, he would just smile and go "now, that wasn't very nice," while gripping the controller hard. He broke three controllers now actually

Wallace has experience at least bc his niece does like playing video games too, and it's nice watching Iris and Hau play whenever they have their champion's meet up, reminds him of Lisia. But I also wanna say he's really shitty when it comes to games, Hau and Iris ended up showing him Stardew Valley bc hey it's just a farm sim, he doesn't have to be quick or anything, and he actually liked it and said he's going to date every npc and the two said it's on brand of him—

Cynthia knows every kind of game under the sun, and the three of em have lil game nights too, altho it also ends w Cynthia encouraging them pulling an all nighter bc she's the type of player to grind until she gets the item she wants. Really into online RPGs, likes the character customization, and likes the stories, got Iris and Hau to play those games w her too and imagine she's like max level/rank and the two are just "woah, you must've played this game for a long time hahah" and Cynthia's just "oh no, I just started playing this yesterday"

Teaching Diantha how to play the games they wanted was a mess bc Dia was asking what each of the buttons are for almost every two seconds, so they end up installing games on her phone instead bc the only other game she had there was chess. She didn't really get the hang of the games Iris and Hau plays, but she's really fucking good at rhythm games. Like... It's terrifying. She'd probs clear out the hardest song of Project Sekai or Osu or ADOFAI or whatevs and they found out no matter what platform, Dia's hands are quick to press the right keys, and after the hard levels she's all "that was fun, do they have other songs? I think I've cleared out everything"

They invited Leon to their online rpg game once. He got lost trying to find them. They ended up showing him platformer games and it really made him happy cause he legit just has to go one way every time hahah. He's good w the Mega Man games tho, also somewhat good at speedrunning said games for whatever reason Iris and Hau can't figure out— they made him play Cuphead once, never again, Diantha almost didn't buy them another console after Leon raged when he couldn't beat Cagney Carnation after numerous attempts and actually threw his controller at the screen. Surprisingly tho, he doesn't cuss when he rages, probs experience playing w Hop too hahaha

Since Iris and Hau knows Geeta loves horror movies, they also made her play horror games as well. To no surprise she's good at those games, knows where to find every item, how to progress no matter how cryptic the instructions are, how to outrun the one trying to kill her, doesn't fucking flinch when there's a jumpscare— they also showed her Dead by Daylight and man she fucking loves that game so much and Iris and Hau were low-key regretting it bc now Geeta invites almost every champion to play that game w her bc she knows she's gonna win every fucking time and it's not like they don't like to see Geeta being happy, I'm sure it's what Diantha wanted too, but every time Geeta kills one of their player characters she start laughing to herself and starts humming "I wonder who's next" while hunting down the others. It kinda scares them hahaha

But yeah imagine Smash Bros w them tho cjdmdn like they would be at each other's throats going on why they choose the charac they chose or some are even fighting over the same character bc ofc "I chose them first!" "No! I did!" But hey, at the end of the day, they're just having fun, no matter how many controllers or consoles got broken every game night

So, what’s your interpretation for the rest of them? Are they good parents, abusive, or the “I’m going to the gas station to buy cigarettes” type?

Pfft sure I did say I should write more abt the other champs so have more angst abt them owo

Cynthia's parents are dead. Idk, I've read like, a few fics abt her and usually they'd write in how her parents are dead and ofc I added that to my hcs bc I live for the angst hahaha I wanna say like,, in my own hcs, her mom died while giving birth to Cyn's younger sister, and her father died during an expedition, leaving their grandparents to raise them. Ofc, Cynthia couldn't really fault her sister for what happened to their mother, it wasn't her fault; the expedition her father went to went downhill and they couldn't even find his body. But idk, as much as she wants to care she just really,,, couldn't. She wasn't even that old when her mother died, maybe she was like,, two at most, and when her father died she was three. So she never got to bond w them much, and if she tries to think abt them, well.. her grandparents would always come to mind instead. She never thinks abt them really, never even visits their grave, she just,,, she really just kinda forgot abt them if she's being honest, but ofc people expect her to like react in some way whenever she's asked abt her parents, so she'd just fake being hurt and missing them when she really doesn't. How could she even miss people that she didn't even know that well.

Wallace's parents are the most homophobic pieces of shit to ever walk Hoenn, so you can only imagine how rough it was for him. Not only that but they also kinda held him up in a high standard compared to his own sister as he's the older one between them, thus he's going to be the next Guardian of Sootopolist. They honestly didn't support him on his career on contests, instead they insisted he'd be Sootopolist's Gym Leader, and while being Gym Leader was an item in his bucket list, he also wanted to join contests and be a coordinator. That didn't sit right w his parents ofc, berated him for his interest, his father even beat him up, they ended up disowning him and he went to live w his sister for a bit, promising her that when he gets back to his feet he'll make it up to her. And ah, yknow his sister has always been such a sickly kid when they were younger, and that didn't change when they got older, after Lisia was born, a few months later his sister died, leaving him w his niece. His parents blamed Wallace for the death of his sister, but he ignored them, opting to take care of Lisia instead, as a way to make it up for his sister. He has to fight long and hard so he'd have custody of Lisia, and he ended up taking the title of Guardian from his parents too, saying that it was his right and he was next in line, and his father was in no way shape or form to do his duties anymore. Ofc, their relationship is as strained as ever really, he doesn't let Lisia visit her grandparents in fear of what they'd do to her, so he's like,, he's really trying so hard to be a Guardian, Champion, and even a father figure now to his own niece.

Lance's parents were pretty absent most of his life ngl, same goes for Clair's folks really, which left them at the care of their grandfather, the Clan Elder. He knows they're still around, he just doesn't mind them really, rather he's just trying his best to be the next leader of their clan. If they talk to him, he just talks to them too, and it's not like there's really any conversation other than them asking how he was and if he's doing well. He's like.. he's indifferent towards them. Like, it's cool they're still around, but if smth happens to them he really.. he really wouldn't turn his head to help them. Why would he? They were never there for him too. He does hate his grandfather tho, mfer had too much expectations on them and he hated it, so he really broke the chain after being the new leader of their clan, and did a lot of things he knew would piss off the elder. He almost never calls the elder as his grandfather, it's always been elder, he doesn't feel like family to him.

Ik we got Steven's dad and such, but I wanna think that his mother died when he was like,, five. And if he's being honest, he was closer to his mother than his father. She was nice yknow, she was so supportive of him, and was the one to give him his Beldum, telling him that hey even tho he's not ten yet, she's sure having the company of pkmn wouldn't make him that lonely while she and Joseph are out on meetings. But ofc, his mother got killed, it changed his father, got every reminder of her in their house hidden from sight, as he didn't want more reminders that the love of his life is gone now. That kinda messed Steven's relationship w his father, but like, yknow years later, they finally had a talk abt it, so it's kinda,, it's kinda good now at least hahaha

Leon's dad,, idk, I imagine him as the type to tell his kids he's just gonna get some milk from the store and hasn't returned since. Mfer doesn't even know Hop is his kid💀 so ofc Leon doesn't like him, he just left him and his mom while she was pregnant w Hop, and before Hop was born he already left. I do wanna say when Leon became more and more famous, his father tried to reconcile w his family, but Leon didn't accept him ofc he didn't, he knows his father is just back bc Leon has the fame and fortune now.

Hau's mom is dead, but his father is still around he's just pretty neglectful. After the death of his mother, his father started avoiding him like the plague, leaving him w Hala. Hala didn't like how his own son just left Hau, but if he won't take care of Hau then he will, he'd rather not want his own grandson to follow in his son's footstep. Hau never really thinks abt them much, not like it matters anyways, he knows nothing will change, so he's just living w it. He has to admit tho, whenever he sees others being w their family he gets kinda jealous, but he just has to swallow his sadness, he'd rather not want to feel it.

Iris' parents left her in Blackthorn do I have to explain this hahahah like, mfers really saw their kid and dipped the fuck outta there. Idk,, idk if this is too angsty, but I also imagine that her parents were young. Like, late teens maybe, or just early twenties, when they had her, and ofc they didn't want to be parents just yet so they left her in Blackthorn, leaving behind their kid who they believed they couldn't take care of. Iris never knew them, she didn't care much, she's happy rn w Drayden and the Unova League, they're her family now, even the other Champions are her family. But if her actual parents did recognize her, and told her they're her actual parents idk,, I want her to be mad at them, and like,, avoid them as much as she can too. Like maybe they changed, yknow, but for Iris it's already too later, maybe they just wanna be close to her now bc she's the Champion.

Geeta's parents are smth bc they're both really supportive but also extremely judgemental of her. Like, they support her on becoming a trainer and even supported her dream in becoming Paldea's first Champion, but they also don't fucking like how she's friends w what they call commoners. Dia is probs the only friend she had that they ever thought would be perfect for her, bc ofc, Dia was also rich. But yknow, the more Geeta defied them, the more expectations they placed on to her, and the more she was bending over backwards to reach those expectations, the more pissed her parents became. Like, telling her that if she won't cut ties w her friends, then they'd just give her her inheritance and make her leave their own home, letting her provide for herself, and they'd just watch as she'd waste the money they gave her. Ofc, Geeta never wasted it, she knows how to handle money, and became a bit more successful than her folks. They really don't talk much anymore, they'd pass each other a few times, but Geeta would never talk to them. I also wanna add that they're kinda the reason Geeta has troubles w empathy and sympathy and all that, bc they taught her to look down on people who aren't in their level, and she kinda internalised that to the point she really couldn't feel much for a lot of people. She is breaking that chain tho, she knows it's not a good mindset, but sometimes she just slips and falls back, but still, she's trying.

Another champion villain AU, but the Champions are all working for their regions Villain teams

Diantha working for Team Flare because she agrees that only the “worthy” people should live, people who do good for the world

Iris working for Team Plasma, either from the beginning or when they reestablished themselves in BW2. Idk why she’d join but she knows how to bring the power out of dragon Pokémon and how to control them, and one of Plamas goal is to capture the three dragons

Cynthia working for Team Galatic just for her own curiosity. She wants to see how far Cyrus is able to go, and maybe even gain control of the legendaries herself. Maybe the story of Volo has been passed down in her family and she wants to see if she’s able to complete what Volo wasn’t able to

And the other Champions joining their own villain teams, idk what Geeta would do considering there isn’t really a villain team, it’s just a group of kids who were bullied. Maybe she helped Turo and Sada with their research but she took it to far and brought dangerous Pokémon to the present time. Letting the Koridon/Miradon kill the professors so that she could take their research for herself

Ofc, Cynthia is a given considering her track record in our villain au hahah but that is interesting tho, if the story of Volo got passed down in their family, and they treat it like some cautionary tale, a warning yknow, Volo was a name in their family that none should ever speak out loud. But Cynthia, ever the curious child, wanted to know more. And learn she did. Found out what he really did, what he wanted to achieve, and he was close in accomplishing his goals. Yet he failed. Cynthia doesn't do failure, she's great w a lot of things, she prides herself w that, a lot of people look up to her. But she has to admit, it's rather boring lately, and then the story of Volo came across her mind again, and she wondered if she could do what he wanted to do. And she won't fail ofc.

She let Cyrus do all the work, tho she gave him what he needed to know abt the legendary Pokémon. They both knew that Cynthia shouldn't really ruin her image just yet, their plan would fail. So yeah the events of DPPt, up to the point of Giratina showing up. And everyone was at the edge yknow, they're waiting what would happen, then Cynthia steps in, catching Giratina's attention. Gira knew Cynthia was familiar, a spitting image of him, and there's a tug within him, in his already tainted heart, to bow his head, to submit to her commands.

Cynthia looked at Cyrus. The man was waiting for her to finalize their plan, everything was already in order, they have hold of the Lake Trio and even the Creation Trio. Cynthia smiled at him, but there was smth abt it that Cyrus did not like.

"a world devoid of spirit.. that sounds boring, don't you think?"

"what are you planning, Cynthia."

"well, a world without spirit, no one would have the energy to make ice cream, Cy. That's not the ideal world for me."

"what would be the ideal world for you then?"

Chuckling to herself, she was quite curious just how much Giratina would actually listen to her, without uttering a single command. She smiled at him, smiled at her childhood friend, oh, she will miss him, maybe, who knows. Then she smiled, "this." She snapped her fingers, and quicker than the light itself, one of Giratina's tendrils impaled Cyrus straight through his chest, killing him instantly. A few of the grunts screamed, the admins stood there, watching Cynthia in horror. Dialga and Palkia were struggling even more beneath the chains, how pitiful, but she can help them. As long as they'd follow her every word. She then turns to the admins, terrified, hands on the red capsules on their belts, but Cynthia laughs, "do you think that'd be wise?" They raised their hand in quiet surrender. This was easy. She never got how Volo failed.

Then w Leon, idk since I did have this au abt Sonia back then, it does have the same energy, anyways hahaha yeah yknow peeps looked down on Sonia, Leon did not like that. No one believes her abt Eternatus, abt how it was the (cause) of the Darkest Day, and he heard rumours how she was just trying so hard to impress people since she's filling in Prof Magnolia's shoes. Then he hears abt Rose and like all that energy for DMax or smth yeah, and ofc Leon believed Sonia, and he's gonna help her prove her theories are actually true. So he played along Rose's game. Let him summon Eternatus, and both of them are standing before it, w Rose letting Leon capture the legendary pkmn. Rose praised him for his good work as usual, but just as he was abt take the Master Ball from Leon, the champion merely looked at him, smiling, "thanks for your help, Chairman. But.. Sonia needs this more than you."

And before Rose could react, Leon's Charizard and Haxorus attacked him, feasting over his body. Leon just watched, uninterested abt the death of the man who helped him rise to fame. Instead he looked at the master ball in his hand, smiling to himself, "Sonia is so gonna love this!" Pls ur honour do you see my vision in them becoming villains together ik I said Leon is in a polycule but I'm also still fucking trash for lionheartshipping let me have this one small thing ncmxnx hahaha

Geeta tho like imagine tho after Sada and Turo's death, she took in Arven, telling the others that it's the least she could do as she was the one who was w Sada and Turo last, it's their final wish. Ofc it wasn't, but they all got convinced by it. And just cndmdn yo Geeta feeding Arven lies abt his parents. How they were the ones to bring dangerous Pokémon in their world, how they took it too far, how they took her studies abt it. And ofc, Arven believed all of it, he was so young, and his parents were always so focused on their studies more than him, but miss Geeta was w him now, and she's so much better, she gives him attention, she's always there for him. His parents didn't even listen to Geeta to stop, and it shows how they really didn't care abt him at all. Imagine how his encounter w his AI parents would be tho, if they actually tell the truth of what happened. Arven couldn't catch a break man bcmdnd hahaha
