The Mitchells vs. the Madrigals - Fan script for a mini sketch
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: The following script is a parody. Any use of names related to movies, institutions or people (whether fictional or not) is not meant to be taken seriously.
--------------------------------------
Dolby Theater, March 27th 2022. The Oscars are about to begin. Among various live action actors, directors and similar film crew, some CGI animated characters and a 2-D Amin Nawabi (Flee) look for their seats apart from those that belong to the directors of their respective movies. Among the CGI toons are Raya and Sisu; next to them, Luca, Alberto and Giulia. Amin, in particular, wears a tuxedo while Sisu only wears a tie. Raya, on the other hand, wears an elegant dress. They all sit. The spectators around these toon stars clap and cheer at them with eerie-looking faces and smiles. Last but not least, two toon families in elegant clothing also find their seats among the clapping spectators. At one side, the Madrigals; at the other, the Mitchells. The spectators suddenly stop clapping as the two families sit and get comfortable. Aaron Mitchell, along with Monchi (who also wears a little tuxedo, like a little gentleman), get closer to where Antonio Madrigal is. Aaron stares at Antonio and does a little dino roar while showing his T-Rex snapper.
ANTONIO: Guys, take a seat!
At this command, some wild animals appear out of nowhere: a leopard, a few capibaras, a toucan, a few tapirs, some coatis… Aaron feels uncomfortable about this. Monchi, on the other hand, gets scared at the animals and leaves towards the rest of the Mitchell family. Aaron follows him. Meanwhile, Rick gets approached by Linda.
LINDA: I don’t know about you honey, but I hope Encanto wins.
RICK: Enchan…to? You mean the one with that, what was called… “Bruno”… song? Aaron never stops seeing that video Katie has made with Monchi barfing it.
LINDA: Well…yeah! I guess so.
A second Linda approaches Rick.
LINDA 2: Ehm…Rick?
The first Linda changes into Camilo Madrigal, who returns with the rest of the Madrigals with an annoyed yet confused look on his face. He can't believe Rick knows little about Encanto. Mirabel, on the other hand, approaches Katie.
MIRABEL (with an optimistic tone): Hey, good luck.
They both shake hands, but Katie feels a little unsecure about what just happened.
KATIE: Ehm…thanks I suppose?
Mirabel returns to where the rest of the Madrigals are.
CUT TO: An hour later
The time all the toons and the directors of their movies have been waiting for has finally come. Lily James, Naomi Scott and Halle Bailey get on stage to present the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Everyone cheers.
HALLE BAILEY: All of these characters hold such a special place in our hearts, because animated films make up some of our most formative movie experiences as kids.
Katie gets surprised and mumbles angrily.
LILY JAMES: So many kids watch these movies over, and over…
HALLE BAILEY: And over and over and over and over and over!
NAOMI SCOTT: I see some parents out there know exactly what we’re talking about!
Linda also gets surprised and mumbles angrily, but in a tone that’s little louder than Katie. Katie sees this and calms her down.
KATIE (whispering): Calm down, mom! There’s… there’s a big chance for us to win! I hope…
NAOMI SCOTT: Here are the nominees for Best Animated Feature Film. Encanto; Jared Bush, Byron Howard, Yvett Merino and Clark Spencer.
As Scott reads the previous title and directors, the Madrigals get surprised as the ever-so-cheerful crowd claps at them. A rainbow appears over Pepa. Isabela produces some beautiful flowers on her hair and Antonio’s animal friends look at him happily. However, Abuela Alma seems to just be happy about the situation; she doesn’t celebrate with the family. Mirabel, on the other hand, just looks at everyone with discommodity in her eyes.
N.S. (cont’d): Flee; Jonas Poher Rasmussen, Monica Hellström, Signe Byrge Sørensen and Charlotte de la Gournerie.
Amin hesitates for a moment, then stands up and, with a confused look, bows at the crowd around him.
N.S. (cont’d): Luca; Enrico Casarosa and Andrea Warren.
While the monotonous crowd cheers, Giulia waves at them while Luca and Alberto celebrate by throwing bottles of water at themselves. This causes them to change into their sea monster forms, much to Giulia’s surprise.
N.S. (cont’d): The Mitchells vs the Machines; Mike Rianda, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Kurt Albrecht.
Katie is trying to calm down Linda when, suddenly, she realizes her family has just been mentioned. She immediately and insecurely waves at the crowd along with Rick. Linda waves frowning while Aaron waves Monchi’s left front paw. Both Rick and Aaron’s faces are also showing the same insecurity as the women of their family.
N.S. (cont’d): Raya and the Last Dragon; Don Hall, Carlos López Estrada, Osnat Shurer and Peter del Vecho.
Sisu and Raya wave at the crowd. Sisu then pats Raya in the head.
LILY JAMES: The Academy rules specify that animated characters must remain in their seats.
N.S.: Only real people can accept the award, so please be animated.
HALLE BAILEY: And the Oscar goes to…
Suspense is in the air. All toons stare at the three hosts in excitement. There’s even fog surrounding Pepa! Monchi just drools over the deadpan capibara, though, but the latter doesn’t even react to that. Finally, Bailey opens the envelope. The winner is…
JAMES, SCOTT AND BAILEY: Encanto!!!
All of the live-action audience members clap and cheer. While the Encanto live-action crew heads to the stage, the Madrigals and Antonio’s animals celebrate their victory along with the crowd surrounding them. A ray of sunshine appears over Pepa. Abuela Alma is still only happy and keeps distancing herself from the Madrigals’ celebration. Also, Mirabel is still looking uncomfortable. Amin gets a little frustrated at not winning the award while a member of the crowd turns around to give a “better luck next time” look towards his neck. A similar thing happens with some crowd members next to the remaining “loosers”. The Luca trio is straight up angry at the situation, but that doesn’t compare to Linda’s reaction. She starts breathing and growling uncontrollably with her face having turned hot and her pupils having shrunk down to some dangerously familiar ones. Her scene attracts the attention of Raya and Sisu; Sisu being just about to pat Raya in the shoulder as consolation. Katie and Rick, meanwhile, are trying to calm Linda down.
KATIE: Mom, mom, please calm down!
RICK: Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, it’s OK!
Linda’s breakdown doesn’t seem to worry the live-action assistants of the ceremony. The Encanto live action crew do their speech.
CLARK SPENCER: And everyone in the Walt Disney Animation Studios, this film only exists because of your talent and your passion…
LINDA (in a very angry tone): KATIE, IS IT TRUE THE ACADEMY IS BOUGHT BY DISNEY?!
This interrupts Spencer’s speech. The Encanto LA crew, the three hostess and everyone in the audience turns to Linda. The audience in particular emits the traditional crowd gasp sound effect.
KATIE (unsecure and worried at the same time): Well, not exactly, you see…
Linda interrupts Katie with a loud yell. Rick and Katie look at each other; they know what to do in these cases. They get up and wave their arms in desperation.
RICK: Everyone leave the building, quick!
KATIE: Code Lavender! Code Lavender!
Rick and Katie’s efforts are worthless. Linda angrily heads towards the stage throwing away every seat (all with an audience member on them) she finds on her path. Once Linda is on stage, she runs towards every Encanto LA crew member, grabs and throws them into the air. She then runs at the three hostesses, who all try to escape.
LINDA: YOU THREE, GET ANIMATION OUT OF YOUR F**KING MOUTHS!!!
Linda grabs the three and also throws them into the air. All the live action audience members, by now, have left the building in fear. Abuela, through a movement of her arm, draws the Madrigals’ attention to Linda. They all get on stage in an attempt to stop her. All, that is, except for Dolores, Felix, Agustín, Mirabel and Bruno. Dolores mumbles and covers her ears.
DOLORES: Ugh, those steps!
The attempts of the remaining Madrigals to stop Linda, still, are in vain. A storm cloud appears over Pepa. From it, a thunder catches The Lavender One. However, she somehow survives said thunder, but ends up looking cartoonishly calcinated (i.e. turns completely gray and smoke rises from her body). This, nonetheless, doesn’t stop her from throwing Pepa in the air, running towards Julieta, snatching the arepita con queso the latter had at hand and eating it. In a second, her calcinated body turns back to normal. She throws Julieta away too. Antonio then uses his arm to command the animals (except for the deadpan capibaras) to throw themselves into her. They all do at once, but Linda, in just two arm movements, grabs and throws them away with ease, leopard included. Isabela summons two large flowers to tangle her up, but Linda rips them off, again, easily. She heads towards Isa, grabs and throws her away. Meanwhile, Mirabel reaches Katie, who is watching everything calmly.
KATIE: No offence to your family, but I think they deserve this.
MIRABEL: Yeah, I guess you’re right.
Amin reaches the two girls.
AMIN: Do you want to know something kids? After that awful speech about animation, I won’t trust the Academy anymore.
KATIE: Same here Mr. Nawabi. Oh, by the way, I watched your movie. And I LOVE it. It’s incredible how…
Katie gets interrupted by a screech from her mum. The fight is still going strong. Linda has just thrown Camilo away. Luisa grabs a column pillar with both hands and heads with it towards Linda. Linda, with just one hand, grabs said pillar and throws both it and Luisa towards the roof, breaking it. The Mitchell mum breathes in and out, still in rage. Almost every Madrigal has been knocked out and the theater has been ruined. Suddenly, Abuela stands up.
ABUELA: Alright, that’s enough Señora Mitchell!
Linda looks towards Abuela while calming herself down. Luisa falls back down, breaking the roof yet again.
ABUELA: What a shame! I know you’re angry because we won the Award, but that’s no way of treating us!
Linda lowers her head in shame.
ABUELA (cont'd): But don't worry! To solve our rivalry. I suggest you to go with your family to our Casita Madrigal. We'll throw a big party there!
Pepa gets surprised and a storm cloud appears over her again.
ABUELA (cont’d): The other nominees are also invited! The Casita pays!
Linda thinks about it and gets calmed and cheerful all of a sudden. She finally gets off the stage and joins the rest of the Mitchells, who all are puzzled at what has just happened. Pepa, still accompained by her storm cloud, approaches Abuela in anger.
PEPA: What are you thinking?! They will all trash out Casita!
ABUELA: (Giggles) I know. You'll soon see.
CUT TO: Casita, some hours later.
Casita opens up her doors. The floors’ tiles push the Mitchells, Monchi, Raya, Sisu, Amin and the Luca trio outside. They all fall on each other. The doors close. A roof tile from over the door goes up and down continuously as a way to wave them goodbye. The Madrigals, with Abuela having their Oscar at hand, see it all through a window.
KATIE: You know mom? It's still not too late to bring "The Lavender One" back.
Linda's face gets hot and her pupils shrink again. Cue the yelling.

Hunt Wheels - Road and Gravel Line Up
Hunt Wheels – Road and Gravel Line Up
When it comes to wheels there are tons of options out there. It all depends on what you are looking for. Aerodynamics, weight, comfort, looks, a wheelset can play a big part in each of these areas. Hunt might not be as big of a name as behemoths like Zipp, Mavic, or Vision, but they have carved out their spot in the industry, and have been raced anywhere from the WorldTour all the way down to…

Anything With You
A short one this time
Featuring Charles in his streamer era
Tumblr media
She opened the door slowly, trying her best not to disturb Charles as he streamed his game with his friends. Because his back was to the door, it was almost guaranteed that she’d be seen by the camera but there was no way around it. She needed to get some snacks stashed in the shelf in front of Charles’ computer and she couldn’t do that unless she entered the room.
“Y/N!” George greeted upon seeing her, his voice blaring through the speakers causing Charles to turn to her with a smile on his face.
“Cherie,” Charles greeted as the rest of the Quartet greeted her. “Do you need something?”
“Sorry,” Y/N said sheepishly as she ducked her head in an effort to hide herself, “I just wanted to get some snacks. I’m going to watch a movie in the living room.”
“I’ll watch with you,” Charles declared, standing up immediately as he reached for the snack he knew was Y/N’s favorite.
“No, you don’t have to,” Y/N protested, “continue your game. I’ll be okay.”
“He’s so whipped!” Lando cackled but Charles only ignored him, clicking something in his keyboard that silenced his friends jeers as he handed her the snack.
“I will watch with you,” Charles said eagerly.
“You don’t have to,” Y/N insisted, fighting her smile. “You can continue your game, Cha.”
Charles frowned, his lips jutting out in a pout. “But I want to watch with you.”
“Babe, continue your game. I’ll be fine!” Y/N laughed as she exited the room with Charles following after her, his pout growing deeper. “I want to watch alone. Go stream, seriously.”
“But why?” He all but whined.
“I’m watching a rom-com, babe. I don’t think you’d enjoy it.”
“Yes, I will. I’ll enjoy anything so long as its with you.”
Y/N raised a brow. “You want to watch a rom-com with me?”
“Yes, cherie,” Charles said determinedly, “please let me watch with you.” And then, to Y/N’s surprise, Charles’ eyes widened, his pout deepened, looking like a little puppy abused by its owner.
“Charles!” Y/N gasped, unable to stop her bubbling laughter. “Fine! You can watch with me.”
Instantly, Charles’ demeanor changed. His pout turned into a triumphant grin, his eyes almost sparkling in joy. “I’ll go exit my stream.”
“You’re lucky you muted them. If your friends ever found out how clingy you are, they’d make fun of you.”
“Oh please, they’re even clingier to their girlfriends,” Charles said with a roll of his eyes as he went back into his game room.
Y/N simply shook her head, a chagrined but loving grin on her face as she turned the TV on and chose the movie she’d been meaning to watch.
“Cherie?” Charles suddenly called out.
“What?”
“George, Alex and Lando are laughing at me and my Twitch comments are calling me whipped.”
This time, Y/N couldn’t stop her loud guffaw. “I thought you muted them!”
“I didn’t mute us.”
And then George, Alex and Lando’s laughing voices blared from Charles’s speakers as he unmuted them, filling their quiet apartment.
“She’s got you wrapped around her finger, mate!” Alex chortled.
“Charles and Y/N sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” George snickered.
“I’ll enjoy anything so long as it’s with you!” Lando mocked.
“You are such children!” Y/N called out from where she sat. “I’m telling Carmen, Lily and Luisa!”
But all they did was laugh until the speakers abruptly silenced itself as Charles turned his stream off, emerging from the room with a sheepish smile, a blanket around his shoulders and snacks between his hands.
Y/N peered at him. “You sure you still want to watch a rom-com with me rather than finish your stream?”
“Absolutely,” he said with a firm nod as he took the free seat next to her. “Anything so long as it’s with you.”

a common complaint I always see about encanto is how mirabels sisters issues “came out of nowhere”
Here is your friendly reminder the movie is almost entirely from mirabels point of view. So it’s gonna be a little bit biased because mirabel at the start of the movie was biased when it came to her sisters (isabela). That’s not a bad thing because if we saw the story from isas pov we would think mirabel is being annoying and because we would be more familiar with her struggle rather than mirabels, the story would make you think mirabel is acting up because that’s what isa thinks! Encanto is a movie all about perspective and I see so many tiktoks saying if they felt so much pressure why did they never tell mirabel before?
well to answer that question it’s heavily implied mirabel is not close with either of her sisters. Sure we see how luisa is there for her and vice versa but luisa is so busy she doesn’t have much time for mirabel. Isa as we already know had a very strained relationship with her. The family’s whole issue is communication that’s why we only learn about their struggles when mirabel is the one to start questioning.
As mirabel gains understanding for other people’s perspective so does the audience. We think her sisters are perfect because that is how mirabel describes them we only see them when they are putting on the act like the rest of the family. When mirabel realizes how they have also been struggling its because they pretended they were fine when they weren’t.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not calling mirabel a horrible biased person because we all have unconscious bias especially when it comes to families! she’s not a bad person for not knowing how bad they had it the issue is nobody communicated their struggles!
Mirabels arc featured the fact she had to rethink what she assumed about her family. She assumed they were these perfect individuals because that is what’s on display to her and the audience.

Hetalia But it's also Encanto
I got a BUNCH of requests for this song and some sort of variations. This is the one time I will do it. Normally a song with this many over lapping vocals would be impossible but the individual voice clips of the characters singing are on youtube and and it just left me to sync up and piece them together like a puzzle. Now if this specific song had not had its vocals clips leaked onto YouTube I wouldn't have been able to do this at all. That being said this is fully the Hetalia cast there is not other singing (Other than the back ground chorus). As always all voices featured are made by me.

The second wip of the Reincarnation AU series; Isabela’s death.
Featuring another sketch at the end.
Time skip of fourteen years. What happened between Mirabel and Isabela’s deaths? You’ll never know.
Comments are always appreciated.
Warning, sensitive topics below: murder and character death.
~~~~~~
So Much Hides Behind My Smile
“Knock, knock? Mi flor? Are you in there?” Someone asks, opening the door.
Isabela is sat at her vanity, carefully taking out the flowers she’d woven into her hair that morning. From the mirror’s reflection, she can see Milagro stood in the doorway, her family going about minding their own business just behind.
It had been a busy day, of course. Her perfect, albeit long awaited, wedding.
“Of course, mi vida. Did you need something?”
“I just came to see you,” he answered, shutting the door behind him. He laughed, walking over to her, just about to set a hand on her shoulder. “Well, it’s been a long day but we’ve finally made it to the wedding night—”
“Get the fuck out of my room.” Isabela snarls.
Milagro blanks for a minute. “Um… where else am I meant to sleep?”
“I don’t care. It’s not my problem.” She seethes, turning back to the mirror.
“In case the rest of the day didn’t clue you in, mi flor, we are unfortunately husband and wife now. It very much is your problem. And from what I understand, the sooner you have a baby, the happier your Abuela will be. Which you’ll have a hard time achieving if you don’t want me here.”
“If you so much as touch my shoulder, I will rip your penis off and feed it to my carnivorous plants.”
Neither says anything more.
But it takes exactly two seconds for them to act.
Milagro goes to charge his entire body into hers but is yanked onto the floor by throned vines, as Isabela throws herself straight onto him.
“How dare you treat me like this!?”
“How dare you!? This is my room and don’t you forget it!”
“Just because you’re a Madrigal doesn’t mean you can get away with everything, princesa!”
They scratch and hiss and hit like wild jaguars, fighting over the last scrap of meat.
It just keeps going.
Not only does he deserve it and worse, she can let out all the steam that’s been building inside her.
~~~~~~
“A perfect match,” Alma hummed, as Bruno poured them all another round of wine. “Isabela deserves the best and that is what she has. They will both bring so much good to the Encanto.”
“I can’t believe it. Where has the time gone?” Bruno added.
Pepa nodded, still drying her hair. “It feels like just yesterday Isabela was born and now she’s married and going to have babies of her own.”
“That will be our Lolita soon,” Félix smiled.
“I’m too young to have grandchildren! We’re too young to have grandchildren! No offence, Mama.”
Alma was in too good a mood to even remotely care.
“Is it really Dolores’ wedding next?” Bruno asked, teasing. “Because I had a little peek into the future and I saw—”
“NO! DON’T YOU DARE RUIN IT! I DON’T WANT TO KNOW!” Pepa shrieked.
Bruno held his hands up in surrender as his sister began a play fight with him, Félix laughed riotously.
“Hey, I was only kidding!”
“Well, I don’t believe you!”
Alma chuckled too, before getting up. “I am going to check on Julieta and Agustín.”
“You do that,” Félix said. “I’ll keep an eye on these two.”
The rest of the grandkids, all of whom were drunk, were out in the courtyard, hyper as anything.
Camilo, Antonio and a variety of animals were dancing while Dolores played some lively tune on her bandola; Luisa singing a completely different song over the top.
Honestly, you wouldn’t know they were adults.
On any other day, she would probably have scolded them and sent them to bed. For now though, she is happy enough to just leave them. They aren’t hurting anyone or causing any trouble, to be fair.
Agustín and Julieta were sat quietly in another room, without the wine. Julieta has been in an odd state for the past few years with seemingly new cure, and Agustín has always preferred to keep some distance from his mother-in-law when he can help it.
But they should be together right now. This is Isabela’s day and they have all been her biggest supporters.
“They certainly make the happy couple,” Alma said, taking a seat beside them.
“Indeed.” Agustín agrees. “I had my doubts about this match, but I’m glad that I’ve been proved wrong.”
“So long as my girls are happy, then I’m happy.” Julieta declares.
“Well, mija, I can attest that Luisa is definitely happy.” She paused, trying to get the pair to hear the carryon happening outside. “And trying to make herself a soprano, apparently.”
After some wonky, forced long note from Luisa, they broke into laughter.
“It’s nice to see the kids are still enjoying life and spending time together,” Agustín remarked, smiling fondly.
Julieta’s smile drops.
“Not all of them.”
~~~~~~
Long after Milagro is gone and her temper has cooled, Isabela heads downstairs.
It’s late now.
The rest of the family is in bed. Or at least in their rooms.
She doesn’t know where Milagro went after she kicked him out, probably the guest bedroom, but she doesn’t care enough to check. He can sleep outside for all she cares.
She heard some footsteps on the way to the kitchen, but brushed them off.
One of Antonio’s animals, no doubt.
In the kitchen, she makes her way over to the coffee pot. It’s half full, just needs to be reheated - no doubt Luisa has beaten her to their usual midnight drinks.
Casita takes over, sliding her signature cup along to her.
“What do you think of all this, Casita?”
A few tiles clink.
“Mirabel? I’d be lectured for at least two hours about failed marriages in history or something if she was still alive.” Isabela glanced to the side. “Can’t imagine how she’d take this… knowing I just went back.”
More clinking.
“Well, what was I meant to do? I couldn’t say no.”
A cupboard smacks her shoulder, lightly.
She chuckled. Taking off the wedding ring.
“Haha, good point. You know, I always thought getting out of the Guzmán engagement would make me happy, and now I’m about two seconds away from committing murder.”
The beams squeak supportively.
“It’s nice to know someone’s got my back.”
The coffee pot, ready, is tilted over Isabela’s cup, filling it to the brim.
“Maybe I’ll let it happen. Let the family see he’s awful and then I’ll be free.”
It smells as good as usual, there’s an underlying hint of something that isn’t coffee though. She shrugs, and drinks it anyways.
Luisa’s been drunk since the ceremony ended, who knows what she’s put in here since. It’s probably alcohol - that she’s added in some spark of creativity. And Isabela isn’t too against the idea of alcohol in her coffee at all - it’s an idea she’ll try later, when she isn’t about to go to bed.
It doesn’t taste any different though.
She lets Casita dispose of the ring.
She returns to her room steadily, not paying much attention to the beautiful decorations that have been hanging since this morning.
It’s one of the odd times where she wasn’t the one to decorate Casita in her flora - it was her day. Abuela had made it very clear that she didn’t want Isabela to lift a finger.
She never really got a chance to admire them this morning either. She’s spent most of the day outside of Casita and when they have been home, she was in her room, getting ready with Dolores, her maid of honour.
Ah well.
They will still be there tomorrow.
All that matters now is that she’s alone, out of that hideous wedding dress and can sleep off her frustration with a drink.
She doesn’t bother switching on the light, just clambers into bed and setting the cup on her bedside table.
The café con leche is as inviting as always.
Tumblr media
[Note reads, not in Isabela’s handwriting:
Dear family,
This is not about you, this is about me. I can’t cope with the pressure of being the perfect Madrigal any longer. I was not made to be a wife and mother - my most sincere apologies to Milagro, mi vida. I tried. You should not blame yourselves. I hope whatever is is next is better than this.
— Isabela]
Angel always washes his sheets when he knows you’re coming over, there’s something about being surrounded by the scent of fresh laundry and you that completely ruins him. He finds he sleeps better in clean linen, and it becomes a weekly thing instead of fortnightly, even when the two of you haven’t made plans.
He drinks less these days, his fridge actually full of food instead of orange juice and beer because he likes to make you breakfast in the aftermath, sometimes you like to cook when you come over. He enjoys having you around, he looks forward to the nights where you’re his and only his.
There’s a domesticity to the relationship, one that he’s never allowed himself to have before. The women he’s been with since Luisa are fast and fleeting, a place to drown himself when the world becomes too much to bear, and he needs to lose himself.
It’s when he comes home to you, wrist deep in dirt, pulling weeds from the flower beds that line the front of his house that he realises how serious shit has got between the two of you.
“Sorry.” You tell him, using the back of your hand to brush a strand of your hair away from your face. “It’s been bothering me for a while.”
“Yea, no it’s fine.” He tells you, kneeling down and taking up residence next to you. He looks at you wearing one of his shirts thrown over a strap top and those Levi’s that fit you just right. You’re completely in your element, your face streaked with soil, hair tied back as you work. His lover, the kush farmer, the gardener, the botanist.
“We need to prep the soil.” You tell him, letting the gritty, dry earth slip through your fingers. “All of this is devoid of nutrients, I’ll get some compost from the farm, maybe some manure from the horses up by Riz’s place, dig it out and liven it up a bit. Is that ok with you?”
“What will you grow?” His voice rough as he speaks because he’s never had someone so invested. He thinks it means that you’re here to stay because you know, he sure as shit has no fucking idea how to keep something other than himself alive.
“I was thinking we could choose something together.” You say, nudging your shoulder with his. “Play into your vibe, probably some succulents and cacti. I don’t think you’re a lilacs kinda guy, although they are a great pollinator, you’d probably end up with some butterflies and bees. They’re pretty good at smothering weeds too and the smell when summer hits…” You trail off, your cheeks colouring as you tilt your head to meet his gaze. “Sorry I’m getting ahead of myself. Your garden, your rules.”
Fuck you’re captivating to watch. He doesn’t know anything about this horticulture shit but for you it’s a passion, you light up when you talk about it, you’re in your element with your fingers in the earth. He doesn’t know what the hell he did to deserve you.
“I love you.” He blurts out suddenly and he expects you to be taken aback, to reel away from the force of the words that leave his mouth.
“I know,” You tell him, a smile gracing your features as you take in his surprised expression. “You think I don’t see it?”
He’s got nothing to say to that, he really hasn’t. He knows he’s not the most forthcoming of men, he plays his cards close to his chest when it comes to his feelings because he’s been burned before. However, he is impulsive, emotion driven, he feels deeply. He’s not surprised that it bleeds into his physical actions.
“The shit you do for me, it means the world. Making sure I eat in the morning, when you know I’m about to spend a day in the fields, giving me a ride home when I’m too tired to function, running a bath when you know I’m sore. I’ve never been with someone so attuned to me. So, yea, I love you too, and this…” you point at the flowerbed. “is my way of showing it. I’m just really shit at expressing myself, hence why I’m letting you pick the plants instead of just throwing myself into it.”
He laughs because what you don’t realise is that all of these things you’ve listed reflect the shit you do for him. The nights you hold him close in the darkness after he’s had a nightmare, hands soothing over his back as you whisper in his ear, the fact you know he always needs physical reassurance when the two of you are together. You never judge him for it, you never make him feel needy or clingy.
“C’mere.” He mutters, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and drawing you close. You smell like fresh earth, musky and rich, he buries his face in your hair, the contours of your body fitting perfectly against him.  “I love you and you can plant whatever the fuck you want.”
Tía Y/N (Madrigal triplets & Reader) part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1
_____________________
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
"I WASN’T EVEN PART OF THIS!"
"FÉLIX, I WANT A DIVORCE!"
"JULIETA, COME BACK HERE!"
“YES JULI, COME BACK!
“NEVER!”
“SHE DOESN’T HIT YOU THAT HARD!”
"BETTER YOU THAN ME!"
“YOU’RE THE ELDEST! YOU HAVE TO SACRIFICE FOR YOUR BABY SIBLINGS”
“I KNOW NO SIBLINGS BUT THE ONE WITH THE CHANCLA BEHIND US, YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN”
“JULIETAAAAAAAA”
Alma tried not to laugh and maintain a serious face, but it was quite difficult when her triplets, all 50 years old with their own families, ran as a soul that the devil carries to avoid what everyone is afraid of: la chancla.
She didn't really know what was happening, it had been a quiet and normal morning, with the whole family taking a day off to enjoy each other's company. She had been embroidering with Mirabel in the living room (she did it more and more often, in an attempt to fix the relationship with her younger granddaughter), when Isabela and Camilo had entered laughing out loud, with Felix and Luisa smiling behind them.
They did not even have time to ask what happened before three green, yellow and blue spots flew next to them, with a very angry Y/N yelling from upstairs.
Alma was no fool, she knew that you, her eldest daughter and the one who reminded her most of Pedro (at least in appearance), had long taken the role that corresponded to her in the life of the triplets. On the one hand, she was happy they had you, but on the other it hurt her heart and guilt consumed her for knowing that she was never really present in her children's life to the point where they had to turn to you for help.
She never knew when Bruno had told you that he didn't want to have his own family, that he was not interested in having a partner of any kind. She wasn't present when Pepa had run to you on the first day of her period, or in the long night talks about crushes when she met Félix. She didn't even know that Julieta liked women too.
Just a few months ago she had discovered that Pepa calmed down when she was caressed, that Bruno liked to play the guitar or that Julieta loved painting and that the beautiful pictures in your room were made by her. In truth, she didn't know her own children. But you did.
You had been with them on every step of the road, even when they took different paths, you had never let them be lost for a long time. A task that you later performed with the grandchildren as well. Isabela and Dolores had learned to walk with you, Luisa always looked up to you especially when she had a problem, Camilo told you the secrets that he could never tell his parents, Antonio still followed you around all day when he was feeling sad and Mirabel...for the girl you were the whole world. There was absolutely nothing that she didn't tell you.
You were the only other family member besides her grandmother who didn't have a gift, you understood what it was to grow up with magical siblings when there was nothing special in you, you understood the looks of people's judgment, murmurs and teasing. That was why you had made your special mission to make the girl protected from all that.
Little by little, you wove a warm blanket of love and humility, you taught her that she did not need to have a gift to be a light, to shine and be a source of comfort. Mirabel could be identical to Julieta in appearance, but she was definitely a coal copy of you in everything else.
It took her too long to realize it, but now Alma understood that the miracle, the magic, was not what united them, that it was only a feature that most of them shared and nothing else. The answer was you. Really, you were the angel who kept the family together.
...And that's why no one should mess with you, unless they wanted all of heaven's strength chasing them. Or that it was one of the triplets. 50 years and they had not yet learned not to make you angry? Or perhaps it was their way of getting your attention when they felt you were abandoning them for the grandchildren.
A silly thought perhaps, but children will always be children, and the age did not matter, they would always need even if it was just a hug from their mother. And you were definitely the triplets' mother, no matter how much it hurt her.
"What do you think happened?" Mirabel whispered, taking her out of her thoughts
"I don't know" Alma smiled "but it must have been bad if your mother is running too"
It was true. Of the three, Julieta was usually the one that was spared from your fury. It was no secret to anyone that she was your favorite sister/daughter/family/person, despite Pepa and Bruno's anger, who would always get offended when her sister avoided your scolding.
"What about Julieta?! She also helped with the joke!" they would said
"Maybe, but she looks cute doing it" you'd shrug "besides, who could be mad at this precious face?" You would add while taking your sister by the cheeks
Your younger siblings would cross their arms and looked at you with an annoyed pout while a black cloud hovered on the redhead, and Julieta simply let you use her cheeks as a squishy and fill her face with kisses (something she took from you and did with her niece, nephews and daughters too), while she smirked at them.
The only times she actually got scolded was when she wasn't taking care of her own health. So either Julieta just wanted to do exercise or whatever the hell they did was really stupid and dangerous.
"YOU'RE ALL SO GROUNDED!!" You growled when you managed to get to the first floor.
You cursed Casita for siding with the triplets and letting them run while it trapped you on the second floor, but that didn't mean they were safe. Nope, there was no escape.
"What happened, mija?" Alma asked you walking up to you
"Your mocosos share the same fried brain cell and unfortunately for them, it wasn't Julieta's turn to have It" you growled
Your mother laughed and rolled her eyes fondly. She knew that you loved your siblings more than anything and that any insult you might have for them would never come out of the heart, just from a motherly anger, and there was something she could think that this was about.
"Did they try to test Julieta's gift with poisoned food again?" She asked
"They tried to test my patience" you answered "they used arsenic, mom. ARSENIC!"
Okay, that was new. Alma felt bad for thinking it, but she could have expected something that stupid and irresponsible from Pepa and Bruno, but Julieta? She knew better than that, she wasn't a silly girl who didn't know what arsenic could do. She must have been really desperate to get your attention if she let her siblings drag her into that.
"How are they even alive?" She gasped
"Félix caught them before they could even finish the empanadas and ran to tell me" you sighed "and I'm glad he did"
"Of course, I don't want to thinking what could have happened to them"
"And because now I can kill them myself"
Alma looked at you for a moment. You were frowning and looked ready to hit whoever stood in front of you, but she was still your mother and she could see the fear in your eyes, and honestly, she felt it too. She followed your gaze to see her younger children still running and she made a note to scold them right after you.
You felt your mom's aura changing and knew she was on your side, so you smirked and took your sandal with a single move, your eyes never leaving your adorably stupid siblings.
"Who do you want me to hit?" You asked, just for fun
Alma thought about it for a second. Julieta would definitely get the worst scolding once they were back for letting the other two convince her to do something stupid, but you both knew it hadn't been her idea. It probably wasn't even Bruno's, but there was someone who had never feared death nor god.
"The middle one" she told you
You nodded and focused on your victim for a moment before your chance flew directly at her. Your smirk never left your face and grew even more when Pepa fell to the ground after it hit her right in the head. Bruno and Julieta didn't even look at their fallen sister, they just ran faster to save their lives.
"AND YOU BETTER BRING IT BACK TO ME, YOUNG LADY" You yelled at the redhead while the whole family laughed behind you.
These three would be the end of you one day, you were sure of that. But god knew you wouldn't have them any other way. Besides, they were your cute little babies, so you guessed that gave them some points too.
Guess who watched Encanto a second time and still got all emotional wanting to make fanart again? Yes, me.
Tumblr media
I also got the urge to draw these two after seeing really wholesome art with Luisa on Brunos shoulders from @sketchnwhatevr , I hope that's okay!
(And it just seemed wholesome to let Bruno call her "hada", which means "fairy" in spanish :) )
The next few fanarts are probably all going to feature Luisa because she's my favourite and I want to draw her bonding with so many of the family, so there's that.
Rock band au - Backstory…kinda?
Alma had already built her own following on her own youtube channel when the kids were like…teens? Many albums and such in her day. She toned it down a notch when she was 54, that’s when Dolores and Isa were born. (Her channel name was “Young Crimson” and changed to “Abuela Crimson”. She still drops some music from time to time.) She has done a world tour and released many albums and singles.
Pepa had started her own music in her 20’s to mid 30’s. (And she happened to meet Felix at one of her small concerts). Her youtube channel name was “Thunderstorm” of course. She had done some world tours and whatnot as well.
Isabela was ten when she took an interest in rock and frequently went to Pepa or Alma for music recommendations. Same for Mirabel as well, but she was nine when she started her love for rock/alternative music. Camilo was only eight when he started out.
Over time their styles gradually changed the more they got into alternative fashion and such. Alma and Pepa mainly helped of course.
Isabela got her guitar at fourteen, Camilo got his drum set at eight (a year after her) and Mirabel got her guitar at nine (a year after them).
I also wanna add the Pepa sometimes featured in Alma’s songs when she was in her teens + young adult years. So when she branched off to do her own stuff she already had a big following. Mirabel, Isabela, and Camilo kind of did the same when it came to her. They asked if they could be background vocals and she couldn’t say no, she folded like a wet paper towel.
Three years passed and the three grandkids kind of worked up a good foundation in knowing how to use their instruments. Mirabel had an idea and decided to go to Alma about it first. Alma looked it over and she truly liked the idea and…made it into a full song with her daughter and three grandkids help. (Isa was nineteen and Camilo and Mirabel were twelve at the time the song was made.)
The song was released on Pepa and Alma’s youtube channels. Since Mirabel made the song she was the lead singer. Everybody loved her voice seeing as it was a twelve year old singing at such a deep base and loud base.
An Idea came to Mirabel’s mind…why not just be a full band? They already had the foundation for it and a huge following. It wouldn’t- well…starting a band was not easy but they already have a few things going for them.
She asked her tia and abuela if they could be a full band and of course, both women were on board. Isabela and Camilo were absolutely ecstatic when they were told the idea.
“Waiting on a Miracle” was released on April twelfth, four months later, “Illusions of identity” (written by Camilo) was released on August fourteenth. Four months later, “Flora and Rage” (written by Isabela) was released on December sixteenth. Each song had Pepa and/or Alma featured in them.
Five songs by the second year; “Surface Pressure” (By Isa), “Thin ice” (by Pepa), “Hard Work that no one sees” (By Alma), “Shaken emotions” (By Mirabel), and “Constant heartache” (By Camilo). The youngest three had their first tour that year as well!
By the third year five more songs were made. Which made the band have a total of eighteen songs out! And they will be going on tour this year as well. All of which had music videos.
-
I was thinking of Alma joining but…decided against it for some reason??? Anyway, her stage name is Abuela Crimson! The kids & young adults absolutely love her and see her as the coolest grandma in the world.
I’m not sure what to do for a group name tho…maybe “The unwanted”? I’m not sure, I’m just going for somethin’ edgy with 2000’s flair.
Also, I like the suggestions! More than what I thought of honestly.
Other stuff-
Mira and Isa’s Parents (and sister) couldn’t be more proud to see them on stage with their Tia, Primo, and sometimes Abuela. Agustin and Luisa manage to cry every single time.
Felix and Dolores love seeing them up there, even if Lolo has to wear headphones that muffle the sound a bit, she can still hear and loves every second of it. Felix a head bopper all the way through…to the point of getting whiplash.
The band mostly tours a few months before summer comes around. That way, when summer break comes, they can just have fun as a family.
UNDERSTANDABLE‼️‼️ also. I was thinking, the time?? Is weird. So for Alma to have had a YouTube channel in her late 30’s/early 40’s, we’ll say when YouTube released, that means that this takes place farther into the future than now. Cause if she took a break at 54, Isabela and Dolores would’ve been born in like 2018 😭😭 BUT. A way around this is
A: Change the ages or Time screwing
B: Change the release of YT for this AU
C: Alma was popular before YT, but grew even bigger when YouTube came around. This could also let the AU take place in the mid 2000 and the 2020s.
Idk, just wanna understand the time <333
ANYWAYYYYY EVERYTHING ELSE IS SO COOL 💪💪 I like how they were pretty young when they got into the rock/alt music scene, that’s so rad <333 you know how loud they must’ve been when they got their instruments. All of them at different skill level for a minute and playing different songs. Like wow 😭
Also Mirabel proposing the band and being the first of the grand kids to release a song. THAT’S WOAM 🗣️🗣️ not surprising that they joined together and then got more popular. Song names are so cool, so creative 🦈🦈 ALSO ABUELA CRIMSON RAHHHHHHHHH 🦅🦅🦅
Glad you like the suggestions <333 another one. You know how for bands, especially rock and metal, people wear face paint to concerts based on the band theme or their favorite member? Like KISS and ICP?? Yeah they have that too <333 Antonio sometimes wears it, but it varies 🗣️🗣️
Tumblr media
LOVE THE BAND NAME‼️‼️
Felíx is literally like. The most insane person at a concert. From row. Screaming Pepa’s name and stage name.
(Some of) Worship Madrigals family meet Isabela and Mirabel for the first time
Pepa hesitated, seeing two girls. At first she thought that she had hallucinated. The older one visibly reminded Pepa of her mother in her youth. The little one looked like her sister. Just what the heck was going on?
The older girl bit her lip, pulling the other one closer. "Is... Is it Encanto?"
Pepa nodded, feeling the wind growling from her worry. Whoever they were, it wasn't normal. Encanto almost never had visitors.
"Is the Madrigal family here?" She looked unsure, more like telling about a distant memory.
The young mama could get into Pepa's daughters considering her age. And her defence over the other girl was rather sweet. Pepa nodded. "We are, I am Pepa."
The older girl blinked several times, scrolling through some memories. She counted on her fingers, muttering something to herself. "Tía?" She breathed out, looking up into Pepa's eyes.
It took a moment for her to realize. Pepa's world froze. Tía. A girl who looked really simular to her Mama asked about the Madrigal family. A girl who held another child wrapped in vines. Too similar to Julieta. Too close in genes.
"Isabela?" Pepa gasped, feeling the rain pouring down. She couldn't believe it. It had to be a dream. It's been twelve years. "Mirabel?"
Mirabel shifted uncomfortably. Isabela nodded, still shaken.
Pepa expected to wake up any moment now. It had to be a dream. It couldn't happen in reality. Tears ran down her face as she pulled her sobrinas close. She held them, crying in fear. Because she couldn't imagine to lose them ever again. They had lost all hope of finding them both. And now they stood here. Both grew so much. Rain showered all over them. Pepa had no idea why she was crying. But the weather was the least concern now
***
Julieta had noticed rainclouds on the edge if Encanto. What had made Pepa sad? She looked here, worried, keeping her workpace.
It took a while before Pepa rushed to her, holding two girls by the hand. Julieta's heart pinched. The girls looked familiar. Not in a normal sense of physical features. But on a deeper level.
Pepa smiled, rainbow flashed over her head. "Juli, your girls, they are..."
Julieta gasped, tears welled up in her eyes. Isabela? Mirabel? No, no, it must be a dream.
All those years, she prayed for her babies to come home, to be alive. Now, they stood in here. After all this time.
Isabela grew so much, now an adult. The childish innocence was gone. Now a mature woman. And there was Mirabel. Her baby girl who went missing so young that Julieta never had a chance to see her getting out of the infant stage. See her first steps. Help her with her school, see her personality.
***
Luisa was attracted by the noise. Just near Mama's food stand a crowd peeked interested as Julieta and Pepa were crying with two strangers. Luisa bit her lip, pushing herself closer.
"Mama?" She asked unsurely, leaning down.
Julieta waved to the new girls. (Why were they so similar to Abuela and Mama?) "Luisa, your sisters had return."
Luisa stepped back in disbelief. She could swear she hallucinated. Because there was no way... It just couldn't be. Luisa had probably dreamt.
Her hermanas were here in front of her eyes, made out of flesh and bones. Alive, here. Home...
With height over one hundred ninety centimeters and inhuman strength, Luisa could easily scoop them both. One arm got each. Julieta gasped, being pushed away.
Isabela gasped for breathe, struggling against way too tight hug. It was Luisa? What the heck? When did she... She was five! (It was when they were kidnapped so she probably wasn't anymore, but this fact was too hard to accept)
Luisa sobbed, almost throwing her sisters over her shoulders. "I missed you!"
There was no words to explain it. How long she cried, asking for them to come home. She spent years, begging for her sister to be back, claiming that she would give up her gift if only Isa and Mira would return. And she sertanly wasn't going to let them go ever again.
Tumblr media
Unbelievable Unthinkable Outrageous
~~~
Look, I'm not saying that Lyanna really looks like that as the text says she has the Stark Look, but it's interesting that the artist chose this look (blue eyes/auburn hair) to depict Lyanna precisely in the scene where she was crowned with the crown of winter roses as the Queen of Love and Beauty by Rhaegar Targaryen during the Great Tourney at Harrenhal.
