#enneagram of holy ideas

"Bruce’s protective control and Dick’s perfectionist caregiving are core dysfunctions for their characters" oh this is such a beautiful, and perfectly fitting, way of describing them that ive ever seen! and it's really interesting to note that, their dysfunctions are.. how do i say it, 'complement' the other's? giving a 'perfect' looping feedback?
like, bruce's protective control pushes dick's perfectionist self to work even harder--to achieve the impossible and essentially makes him more desperate to take care of bruce, and in return this pushes bruce's protectiveness to another whole new degree which then lead to his need to keep everything under his control become even worse. and that makes it harder for them to break from the cycle (am i making sense? i hope im making sense)
hold my beer, I'm using this as an excuse to write the Bruce & Dick enneagram meta in my head.
"He's so determined to prove he isn't like Master Bruce it scares me. In their own way they are so similar that I thank heaven for the differences." - Alfred Pennyworth Batman 1940 #438
I've mentioned before that I use enneagram typing to characterize Bruce and Dick. like all personality typing, it's unscientific bogus. (this one is sold as a business tool lol.) but i find the types compelling.
first of all, their types
Bruce is an 8, the challenger or protector. an 8's ego is attached to the idea of vengeance—destruction of self or others out of a sense of injustice. if the person has a huge ego, has a deluded perception of the world, it is tied to the idea of vengeance. their "holy idea" is truth, which is basically a core value and potential. their trap is justice, which they think is the right path, but it will actually keep them stuck in their bullshit.
Tumblr media
[Dick calls Bruce out on going too far as he's breaking down after Jason's death. Batman 1940 #439]
an 8's deepest fear is being controlled, harmed, or violated. their base desire is to be influential, self sufficient and protect themself. their temptation is to think that they are self sufficient.
like, you see why I like this for Bruce.
Bruce saw his parents being murdered and his reaction to that trauma was to control himself and create a powerful alternate ego that gets vengeance on Gotham's criminals and protects the innocent.
Tumblr media
[Bruce appealing to family court to take in Dick. Batman 1940 #439]
at his worst, Bruce is a control freak who doesn't let anyone help him and has a warped sense of justice. so much emotional armor.
Tumblr media
[Bruce possessed by Antithesis and lashing out at Dick, which Dick correctly identifies as a fear reaction. Teen Titans Year One #3]
at his best, Bruce is a strong leader, is willing to do what is right even at personal cost, wants to protect and help others fairly, and strives to create a better world.
Tumblr media
[Bruce creating a victims advocacy program. Batman 1940 #217]
tl;dr Bruce is driven by fear of loss and compensates by controlling his world and protecting himself and others.
Dick is a 2, the helper or giver. 2's ego fixation is flattery, pleasing and giving to others in order to be liked. their "holy idea" is freedom/will; there's several interpretations of this but for Dick I see it as wanting others and himself to be free of metaphorical shackles and to fly. the 2's trap is also freedom: from having personal needs and needing others.
2's fear is being unlovable and their base desire is to be loved unconditionally. their temptation is to deny their own needs and be manipulative.
Tumblr media
[Dick hiding his sadness as he leaves Wayne Manor for college. Batman 1940 #217]
Tumblr media
[Hugo Strange psychoanalyzing Dick's relationship to Bruce. Batman Gotham Knights #11]
Dick is constantly pushing himself to the limit to be the perfect hero and mentor, and wants to help others but doesn't accept help himself. he maintains an image of being the bringer of light. I think being raised as a performer made him associate doing well and making people happy with love and family; after losing his parents he searched for that unconditional love from Bruce, being a hero, and romantic partners.
at his worst, he's prideful, and both ignores his own needs and sacrifices himself for others in order to get those needs met.
Tumblr media
[Dick killing himself to save people in nuclear-bombed Bludhaven and feeling good about it. Nightwing 996 #116]
at his best, he is compassionate, helpful, parental, and warms the hearts of others.
tl;dr Dick is driven by fear of not having love and family, and compensates by caring for others and being perfect.
Tumblr media
[Dick having a nightmare during a month's long mental breakdown. Nightwing 1996 #117]
you are correct: Bruce and Dick's personalities complement each other at their best and worse.
at their worst, Bruce is emotionally withholding and pushes Dick away. this is out of need to protect himself; any emotional intimacy or love is a threat because what if they die? Dick interprets this as not being good enough for Bruce's praise or a place by his side, and tries to be better. no matter how far gone Bruce is, Dick has to be the exceptional one who stays and loves him. the fact that Dick always comes back to him and gets under his skin makes Bruce lash out or become more controlling. so the cycle continues!
"That's what eats away at you at night—not just that you're forever in his shadow—but that you love him. That you're the loyal son who has never been allowed to truly help—never permitted to save him from himself." - Hugo Strange, Batman Gotham Knights #10
at their best, Bruce uses his own traumatic experience and leadership to better Dick's life. Dick is a ray of light for him. their fears are eased in relation to each other, they both help others and improve their world.
Tumblr media
[Alfred remembers Dick early in his Robin career. Batman 1940 #438]
I think they have a lot to learn from each other. but they can also be deeply stuck in this dysfunctional cycle because they can both hold onto their negative delusions.
"I love Bruce. He's my family. But I couldn't bring him out of the past... I was sacrificing my own future. I don't want that for you... Trust me, Tim. At some point... you have to set yourself free." - Dick, Batman Urban Legends #10. demonstrates a healthy Dick's relation to an unhealthy Bruce.

Muffins Ennea ADDENDUM:
Tumblr media
I wasn’t planning on making a follow-up to that post, but mama/dada’s got some ideas cooking. Mama? Dada? What’s the non-binary version of mama? Nvm, it would sound cringe. I think I’d rather misgender myself than call myself a ‘zaza’ lmao. 😭
Anyway, that post was kinda dogshit. I mean, I stand by a lot of what I said, but I also don’t. So, this is my full personality profile of the bakers!
So, let’s go over the conclusions I made last time:
Pinkie Pie: Enneagram 7w6 with a SP instinct.
Inkie Pie: Enneagram 8w7 with a SX instinct?
Minkie Pie: Enneagram 4w5 with a SO instinct.
Blinkie Pie: Enneagram 4wX with a SX instinct.
Apple Bloom: “IT GOT ERASED AGAIN. APPLE BLOOM SO3.”
Derpy: “DERPY SX7/IDK FUCKING SP6 IDC.”
Babs: “BABS IDFK SP5?? SO5?? FUCKING SP8 dawg I’m too angry to care.”
I don’t agree with all of these anymore, but I stand by the fact Minkie and Pinkie are probably enneagram 4 and 7. I’m not entirely sure of Minkie’s instinct.
In this post, I am going to be breaking down EVERY piece of EVERY characters typology. Maybe I’ll even go into the victims typology in the story? Prolly not.
Minkie Pie 🥧
MBTI: ISFP
After some consideration, I decided Minkie Pie is probably an INFP. And it seemed the consensus on PDB was much the same, which made me immediately reconsider. Just kidding. So, my reasoning is that she is an obvious Fi dom. There’s little question there. Genuinely not understanding how someone thought she was a Fe aux. But the question remains about Ne vs Se.
Minkie has a lot of creative, but practical ideas. And I wouldn’t say she has more ideas than she can execute, nor is she stuck ‘in her imagination.’ So, I can definitely see a Se argument. However, she dwells on the past a lot, which is why FiSi makes more sense than FiNi. In her LARS, I mean, Mad Madusings, she constantly compares her past to the present. She does this to prove some sort of overarching idea, which could be FiNi, but hmmm… her ability to “just know lies” is also very FiNi. I’m torn. Actually, I think I’m going to go with IXFP. She’s clearly a Xe aux. Kidding. INFP makes sense. But ISFP also makes sense especially when in her mad musings she always makes conclusions about people based on past experience to form some sort of archetype of person. Which is Ni…
Ni can look like Si, but Si is more routine based than Ni. I’m gonna go with ISFP for now.
Enneagram: 4w5 (so/sx/sp blind)
Enneagram so4w5 seems right, but I’m also open to sx4. Though, Minkie doesn’t particularly seem envious of others as like, an overarching trait. She just seems pissed at the world. I suppose that could be sx4. I’m a little torn.
Also holy shit, my Ne brain just realised The Game. Minkie’s life is like a video game, trying haurd to beat the stage.
Anyway, I don’t know tbh. Sx4 makes senseeee, but Sx4 is shameless. Minkie is not. Unhealthy so4, ig.
Tritype: 459.
Minkie is obviously a so4, but what about her tritype? Well, because I think she’s a 4w5, her head type is 5w6. Her gut type then, is probably 9w8. I don’t have much good reasoning.
Socionics: ESI
AHH. I hate socionics. I really do. Because I don’t understand it, so it’s bad. Jk. Uh, so, I don’t know. I’m going to go with uh ESI but I can also seen an argument for anything because idk lol.
Big Five: RLOEN.
I don’t like big5 much lol.
Psychosophy: No.
Okay, psychosophy is something I don’t understand.
Temperament: Melancholic.
Come on, it’s really obvious?
Classic Jungian: IF(S)
Pretty obvious.
Conclusion: ISFP IF(S) ESI RLOEN so4 w 5 459 melancholic [dominant].
Blinkie Pie 🥧
Blinkie SX4 is something I stand by. It makes the most sense for her character. She’s probably a sx4w3, as she’s focused on accomplishment and ‘authenticity.’ Her tritype is harder to crack down. She doesn’t seem like a very intellectually driven type, but she does value community ‘at least if we were all locked away, we’d have each other.’ Which is an argument for 6, however… I don’t know. Probably 468. Her MBTI… ah god. Okay, so, unlike that one Deviantart post, I am going to go out on a whim and say she’s probably not an ESTJ. Cognitively extroverted 4 is pretty weird. I’m completely unsure of her MBTI. She has values, but they’re influenced from her friends and father. But Fe anywhere in her stack is weird. ISTJ could work? In Inkie’s Stellar Obsession, she spends the whole time telling Inkie how ridiculous her idea is. Granted, it’s also because she doesn’t like Stella (Fi) but still. ISTJ 4 is uh… weird. So maybe ISFP? I know I’m switching stacks but ugh. I don’t know. Te-Fi is obvious. Si-Ne and Se-Ni I’m more confused about. Maybe Se? She’s very practical. ISFP is the best guess I can give. Then, that would be ESI again, right? She’s probably SCOEN. And yes, S makes sense because introvert =/= unsociable. And she’s not limbic, just because she’s mentally ill. She’s probably a choleric-melancholic?
Conclusion: ISFP IF(S) ESI RCOEN sx4 w 3 468 cholmel.
Inkie Pie 🥧
Enneagram: sx8w7
Inkie, a character I wasn’t sure about. I’m still not convinced she’s an 8. She could be a 9. But she doesn’t seem to struggle with self-inertia.
“Ah, Marblestone "Inkie" Pie... what a Sugarcube. Inkie is the second oldest of the four pie sisters, though she grew up as the oldest since Minkie had not been found yet. she is often very honest, but if you are not on her good side, her honesty is blunt and very insulting. she speaks in a firm, low voice, and is very confident. she seems very proud, holding her head up high and walking with a strut. she has heavy lidded eyes, and her smile can be quite intimidating and frightening, even when she tries to act casual. inkie is a natural born leader, and has been known to be the "protective" pony of the group, and makes a majority of decisions. sometimes she gets pissy when her decisions are shot down, but this never lasts long when it comes to her friends and sisters. Inkie has the ability to love as strong as her ability to hate. she often uses pet names toward her friends and sisters, such as "hunny," "sweety," "sweeatheart," "love," "dear," and many others. she'll address her sisters as "dear sister" when being reassuring toward them. since inkie and Blinkie are the sisters that have spent the most time together, they seem very in tune to each other, thinking along the same lines and coming to similar conclusions. I was originally going to give inkie pie hallucinations, but I decided against it. she's too in control of herself. [that’s not how hallucinations work but ok hunny]”
So, what we can learn from this is that Inkie is honest, blunt and confident. She’s proud, protective and a natural born leader. She makes the decisions for the group and doesn’t like her ideas being shut down, but she doesn’t care if it’s her sisters. Inkie has the ability to love just as much as she hates, which completely goes against the idea that she views other ponies aside from her sisters as toys and not something to love/hate but I digress.
In the actual story, Inkie displays these behaviours several times. This leads me to believe she could be an 8 or 9, but which?
Well, Inkie doesn’t value peace, come to think of it, so she’s likely an 8w9. I still say 8w9 > 8w7 because she’s much calmer than other wings. I view wings more as flavouring than having to match up 100%. So, I’m leaning 8w9. Actually, I think 8w7 makes more sense… she doesn’t have much 9 qualities.
So, what instinct? I still stand by sx/sp 8. So sx8 then.
Tritype: 874
We know her core type (gut) is 8, and I’d imagine she struggles the least with shame. So, we need to figure out her head type. She could be a 5, as she doesn’t seem to struggle with any of the anxiety 6’s do, but 7 is also likely. She’s an unconventional 7 if so, but still. She’s probably 874. But I can see 854. I should probably make my mind up though. Hmm… 874.
Besides, it doesn’t make much sense to have your wing not be your fix. It’s not impossible but me.
MBTI: ESFP
Okay, so, I’m going with Se-Ti here. You might be wondering why, but it’s actually very simple. When going into typing characters, I always assume they’re a sensor until proven otherwise. However, I don’t let myself get biased. I was sure Inkie would turn out to be an intuitive. However, re-reading, Inkie is actually very grounded in reality. She isn’t creative, more of a ‘technical thinker’ as she says and focuses on the present moment. She also makes decisions primarily based on what she wants, her own ‘values.’ Values don’t always have to be moral, and she’s a clear example of that. She values her sisters, but not other people, hence why she protects them but dismisses the other. I just can’t see Fe-Ti or Ne-Si.
Big five: SCUEN.
Might seem weird, but Inkie actually does tend towards the calm side of things. She goes into things with little plan when her sisters aren’t around, and egocentric is a no brainer. N is self explanatory; I is usually more of an experience seeker.
Temperament: Choleric-sanguine is the closest fit to her. You may argue phlegmatic but she does not try to serve others in the slightest lmao. She’s selfish.
Conclusion: ESFP sx8w7 874 SCUEN choleric.
Oh, fun fact, “yup! i like to think that there's something running in the family. pinkie is bipolar, inkie is scitzophrenic (sp?), and blinkie has bordeline personality disorder XD” Where do we get any idea of that in the story, through their behaviour? Nowhere.
Also, despite Inkie knowing her actions are wrong, and the others, Rei said this regarding Derpy: “she doesn't think it's wrong. none of them do. you gotta put yourself in the shoes of a sociopath; they each may have different reasons why they think the way they do, but when your brain works in this fashion, your view of the world is warped.”
Pinkie Pie:
Enneagram: sp7w8
Alright! Let’s go back to this! Reminder that I am ONLY talking about Muffins Pinkie Pie here, and not MLP Pinkie Pie, who is very different from Muffins Pinkie Pie. So, I don’t think my typing was wrong at all. But I’ve been considering 8 for Pinkie. However, I’m not sure if she’s 7w8 or 8w7. I think Pinkie starts off as a 7w8 but Reitanna randomly decides to make her a megalomaniac. So, it’s complicated.
8’s don’t like vulnerability, but Pinkie doesn’t care. In fact, she’ll use her vulnerability to manipulate Apple Bloom in Silence Is Silver. So, that rules 8 out.
That being said… well, we’ll cross tritype when we get there.
So, I stand by her being a sp7w8. You might think Pinkie is too pessimistic to be an 8, but she isn’t a pessimist. An edgelord, but not a pessimist. She only confronts her dark attitude in life when literally being sentenced to death.
Tritype: 782
I think Pinkie is a textbook 782, and I’ll explain why. I was inclined to say 728 but I think she struggles with shame the least. She is very aggressive in getting what she wants, but she also has a 2 fix because she views her baking as a give and take.
"You do not control lives, Pinkie Pie," Celestia growled lowly, feeling hatred toward the party pony. "And you have caused more sadness than you can even imagine..."
"Have I?" sneered Pinkie. "With all of the cupcakes and pastries I brought to parties? With all of the money I helped bring in when I started working at Sugarcube Corner so that the Cakes found financial stability? To the point where they were able to care for themselves and two brand new foals when they came along?" She suddenly stamped her hoof on the floor, making everypony jump once again. "I know for a fact that every single pony in this room consumed quite a large amount of my special pastries, including you, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. And I can recall each and every one of your reactions after taking the first bite! You want to know what it was?" Her furious eyes scanned the room as she was met with no response. Then she chuckled lightly. "A smile."
She’s clearly just messing with Celestia, but there is some truth to what she is saying. She clearly views what she’s doing as “good” to a degree because other people like her gifts. 2’s struggle with pride, and because Pinkie thinks she’s helpful, she feels she is entitled to do what she wants. This is a light fix, but still there.
Pinkie Pie also has a need for her cupcakes to be THE BEST, leading me towards a 2w3 > 3w2 fix. Being the BEST isn’t her main goal, but it’s up there.
Oh, fun fact about Fluttershy by the way, Reitanna was considering making her a baker. As a FuckedUp!PinkieShy shipper (like in an AU where they’re both fucked up idk) I would’ve loved that.
“Yeah, your story makes more sense than mine, but I like the "what ifs" you can come with by reading stories like these. Could you imagine Fluttershy turning into a psycho with Pinkie, or getting super mad and taking revenge?” “I actually considered that, but just like you said, it seemed a bit OOC”
MBTI: ENFP.
Pinkie Pie is probably an ENFP. At first, I considered Se dom, however she is VERY opportunistic and has constant ideas. Who even gets an idea to bake someone because of a cheese grater? Poor writing, or a Ne character? Either way, I think Ne-Si makes more sense than Ni-Se. Pinkie actually does use Si to a degree. She gets enraged when Celestia takes her friends away (even if she did it herself. Hypocrisy!) and also has a very strict schedule on how she does things. Fi > Fe might seem very strange however Fi users can manipulate. Pinkie doesn’t care at all about societal standards. She only keeps up with them to avoid being caught for her crimes. Also, while she hides her depression, it’s mostly to protect herself rather than her sisters. In Twilight’s Fall, she has no problem being pessimistic to her friends and saying horrible stuff.
OCEAN: SLOEI.
Pretty self explanatory. I don’t think I need to explain this.
Temperament: Sanguine-choleric.
Conclusion: Sanguine-choleric sp7w8 782 ENFP SLOEI
Apple Bloom:
Oh Apple Bloom- she’s had it rough. Definitely a type. So, for her enneagram… I decided to look at Broken Tiara, as it’s the story I think characterises Apple Bloom the most, and Silence Is Silver. We learn from the former that Apple Bloom struggles with rage and wrath. She wants to cause other people pain because she’s suffered. Apple Bloom self-sabotages in the story, killing her very own big sister but using Pinkie Pie to fill the gap. She destroys her family, because they don’t matter anymore, Pinkie Pie does. She believes killing is her destiny.
Enneagram: sp6w7- explanation below
Reitanna says this about Apple Bloom, “Actually, no, it's nothing physical, it's a trauma model. Apple Bloom had already shown sociopathic traits by joining pinkie in the first place, but what people don't realize is, the actual act does a lot more to the mind than watching someone lose their life. First, with each incident she witnessed, stress and trauma were put on her brain little by little, meaning it was literally breaking her sanity. Once she did it herself, the power of this act traumatized her so severely, it finally broke her sanity. Since she is a child, the effects of this are much more detrimental than to an adult, due to the fact that the brain is still developing. The damage has caused her to develop one or two personality disorders, which is common in trauma models in children. Since she has been treated so kindly by pinkie pie, Apple Bloom's brain associates these acts as good things because she has been shown positive reinforcement by her mentor, therefore, she doesn't comprehend the fact that something bad has happened to her. She is under the assumption that THIS is who she really is because of pinkie's manipulation. This loss of reality makes her, by definition, insane.”
“I can't pinpoint exactly what she has because I would need to look at all of the personality disorders, but she's definitely not sane.”
Personally, I won’t theorise on what personality disorders Apple Bloom could have, as she is still a child, and children usually get diagnosed with conduct disorder rather than ASPD, so I don’t want to speculate too much.
Apple Bloom compartmentalises her empathy and true nature for her trauma and manipulated self. ("Nah," she chuckled, “That wasn't the real me. It never was. This is the real me, the other one was just tryin to keep me locked away.")
She has an obsession with destruction. She refers to wanting to destroy other ponies in Broken Tiara and says the exact same thing in Silence Is Silver when talking about Silver Spoon. She’s also power-driven, much like Pinkie Pie, and wrathful.
In ABGHCM (Apple Bloom Gets Her Cutie Mark) we see more of this behavior repeated. “I think this was all meant to happen. Everything happens for a reason, right? That's why I was the one who volunteered to take you when your number came up."
She justifies it all with it being her destiny. And getting her cutie mark (one of the worst utilising of this plot device ever) helps her solidify this. I sorta have a theory that Pinkie used dark magic or smth to give Apple Bloom that cutie mark to manipulate her further, but that would be silly. Perfect for Muffins, I can’t take a single thing in this story seriously.
I had to go back to the quiz to get more characterisation of Apple Bloom. If you want all the answers by the way, I’ll drop them right here:
Pinkie Answers:
"How are you today?" "Fine and dandy, right as candy!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Support! My friends are my life! I'd be nothing without them!"
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "HA Me? Afraid? I fear nothing."
"What do you think of the world and the people in it?" "Oh, I LOVE everybody”
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "Oh, that was an attack? It felt like a bug bite.”
"What's your idea of a good time?" “EVERYBODY needs to be having a good time! Everybody that matters, of course!"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Life isn't about revenge, but every body else can do as they please!"
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I suppress the sadness by pretending it's not there."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "No pony is entirely sane! I'm crazy in my own way!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Oh, I NEVER do anything bad!" (Explicitly contradicted by her saying "we're bad people" in On Trial)
"What do you think of life?" "I love life! It's great!"
"How are your dreams?" "I have good dreams. If they turn bad, I just make them good again." (Contradicted in Sting.)
"How was your childhood?" "It was depressing until I was inspired to go my own way and find happiness."
"Someone just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?"
"I don't really care if they lied to me, l'm a pretty big liar myself."
"I see you have cupcakes. May I have one?" "Of course, take two if you'd like!"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's an amazing machine that can create wonderful things. Without it, we'd be boring."
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Ha, yeah, sometimes I am."
"Last question... how is your sleep?" “I never want the day to end, so I stay up late until I pass out. My energy can keep me up for hours when it's time for bed, so I only get a few hours of sleep. It doesn't take a huge toll on me, though."
Minkie Answers:
"First of all, how are you doing today?" "Same as every day.”
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Love. The love shared among friends is the true key to happiness."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "I hardly fear things. Whatever it is, I'll make it more afraid of me."
"What do you think of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Scum. Trash.”
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" “They know better than to attack me. So they wouldn't."
"What's your idea of a good time?" "If my friends are smiling and laughing, then I'm having the time of my life!"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I need to make sure they feel ALL of my pain."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I'm honestly not very good at fighting it.”
"Do you think you may be crazy?" “I know I'm ill, but l'm not crazy. Crazy ponies aren't aware of their actions."
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "I only feel guilty if I did it to somepony I love, otherwise I feel nothing."
"What do you think of life?" "Life? What life?"
"How are your dreams?" "Mostly nightmares about traumatic events in my past. They wake me up frequently."
"How was your childhood?" "I was hurt and neglected for a long time. It has broken me, but I find things to make me feel better."
"Somepony just lied to you. How do you find out, and what do you do?" "They lied to my face. I can tell if somepony is lying immediately to me, and I make sure they stop.”
"I see you have cupcakes. Can I have one?" "Yes, but just one, okay?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Sometimes it's not so good to us. It can make us think things we don't want to think."
"You know what? I think you're an idiot.” “…”
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "Well, since I have trouble sleeping, I'll do whatever anypony else is doing if THEY are still up. Otherwise I lay in bed, hoping sleep will take me. This makes me sleepy during the day. When I DO sleep, my nightmares will wake me back up.”
Blinkie answers:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "What's it to YOU?"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Honesty. I think it's important to stay honest with your friends."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "If I’M not the cause of it, how scary can it be?"
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those around you?" "Ha! The world is full of ponies too DUMB to see the blatant truth in front of their eyes."
"If someone attacks you, how do you respond?” “Are you serious?”
"What's your idea of a good time?" “I need to be in control of the activity, or I'm not happy." (Well we can rule out A > E in OCEAN)
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I will let them feel all the power of my rage.”
"How do you deal with sadness?" "With anger. Turn sadness to anger. It's the only way to cope." (Real, relatable)
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Why would you ask that? Are you implying something?!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "I don't care. I MEANT to do it.”
"What do you think of life?" "Life is only as good as what I make it."
"How are your dreams?" "My dreams are however I want them to be. I can lucid dream." (Contradicted in Sting)
"How was your childhood?" "My family never supported anything I did, and I hated them for it. I was disciplined often."
"Someone just lied to you. How do you figure it out?" "Doesn't matter how I find out. I'll… make sure they regret it."
"I see you have a cupcake, may I have one?" "If you really wanted one, you'd go get it yourself.”
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's the thing that creates ideas, good and bad. You don't have to do what it says."
"You know what? I think you're an idiot.” "[navy seals copypasta]”
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I feel uncomfortable if everyone is asleep and I'm not. I might purposefully keep somepony awake if l'm not tired."
Inkie Answers:
"First off, how are you doing?" "If I get my way, I'm good any day."
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Loyalty. I always protect those who are dear to me."
"If you found yourself in a scary situation, how'd you react?" "I don't scare easily. I'm decently calm."
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Do you REALLY consider them individuals? Pfft."
"If someone decides to attacks you, how do you respond?” "Anyone dumb enough to try and attack me will regret it.”
"What's your idea of a good time?" "Everything needs to be to MY liking."
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "To them, it'll seem like it didn't affect me. But when they least expect it, I will go to extremes to make them pay."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "Well, I rarely feel sad at all, but when I do, it's not pretty."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Some people may consider my behaviour crazy, but if in my right mind, is it really so?"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?” "If everything that happens happens, can we really do anything wrong?"
"What do you think of life?” "I don't hate life, I hate the concept of it. It's wasted on those who don't appreciate it.”
"How are your dreams?" "I prefer the bad dreams because they give me cool ideas. They're more frequent than the good dreams."
"How was your childhood?" "My family put a lot of pressure on me. The affects stay with me to this day."
"Somepony just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?" "If I have a gut feeling I'm being lied to, l'll try and force the truth out of them."
"I see you have a cupcake or two. May I have one? "I'll think about it... how about you try and impress me for it?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "The mind is whatever you make it."
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Hmph. Likewise."
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I like to settle down and chill, enjoying the company of anypony else who is still up. I'll easily go to sleep when they do. I have a bad habit of waking too early, which makes me sort of groggy, but l'm fine."
Apple-Bloom Answers:
"How is your day?” "I'm cautious, but I know I'II be fine!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Dedication! I think friends should remain loyal and true."
"If you find yourself in a scary situation, how would you react?" "Sometimes the fear DOES strike me, but responding with courage is a true sign of character." (Sx6? Sp6 with a sx second instinct and so blind?)
"What do you think of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. In fact it's REALLY funny."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "I may be small, but i'm tough. Don't underestimate how badly I can kick their butt."
"What's your idea of fun?" "If I can let loose completely, it's a party!”
"How would you get revenge on those who've hurt you?" "They hurt me, so I want them to hurt 10x more."
"How do you deal with sadness?" “I have to cry it out, but I don't want anypony to see me doing it."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Of course not! I am who I am! Everypony else is crazy!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Sometimes I feel a twinge of guilt, but if I ignore it, it goes away."
"What do you think of your life?" "When I was young, everything seemed so dandy... When did it start feeling so terrible?" (I know she’s had a terrible childhood but girl- WHEN?)
"How are your dreams?" "Sometimes my dreams are pretty bad, and they stem from bad memories or feelings."
"How was your childhood?" "I was raised well by my family, but I chose my own path, one they didn't approve of."
"Somepony just lied to you, how do you find out?" "They lied to me? I'll lie right back, in that way it'll be my revenge."
"I see you have a cupcake, may I have one?” "Why not? I have them, so l'll share them!"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's fragile. If it breaks, it's unlikely to be fixed."
"You know, I think you're an idiot” "I'll remember that next time I consider doing something nice for you."
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I spent all day having fun, so I feel exhausted toward the end of the night. I try to stay up with my friends, but end up falling asleep at some point or another. Sometimes my bad dreams wake me up in the middle of the night, but I can fall asleep soon after."
BabsSeed Answr:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "I can't complain, really!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Giving back. When a friend helps you when things are bad, it's important to pay it forward."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "Fight or flight? Ha, my first instinct is to fight.” (Counter6)
"What do you think of the world aside from your friends?" “They are weak fools who can't think for themselves."
"If someone attacks, what do you do?" "No one gets away with attacking me."
"What's your idea of a good time?" "If my friends and I don't have to hold anything back, it's a PARTY, PARTY PARTY"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Hahaha... let's say... no one gets away with hurting me."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "…have to distract myself.”
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "I am perfectly sane! I know exactly what I'm doing.”
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Well, no pony knows l'm the one that did it. It's only wrong if I get caught." (Reitanna stop making TOOL references every two seconds challenge: IMPOSSIBLE)
"What do you think of life?" "Life was really unfair to me. But it's just a game, right? Now I'm the one winning."
"How are your dreams?" "My dreams are usually pretty nice. Sometimes I get bad ones, though that don't bother me."
"How was your childhood?" "| experienced heavy losses so young in life, as well as suffered from violent bullying. I was depressed until a dear friend helped me get back up."
"Somepony just lied to you. How do you figure that?" "I'll find out on my own. I'm smart, so I know. I’ll play along with them until I get the chance.”
"I see you have a cupcake. Can I have one?" "Depends... what have you done for me lately?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "The mind is sacred. It should be fed knowledge, it should be soothed with meditation." (5 fix?)
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Oh yeah? Well [a yo-mama-fat type insult, literally]”
Last question... how is your sleepis?" "Well, I make full use of the evening until I start to feel tired. Then I listen to music as I fall asleep. I keep it on low volume, and on repeat, so I hear my favourite songs in my dreams."
Our Muffins Blorbo 🫧:
"First off, how are you feeling today?" “I am so, SO happy today.”
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Happiness! If my friends are happy, I am too!" (Fe > Fi?)
"You find yourself in a scary place and situation, how do you react?" "Sometimes I give into fear and run, it depends on HOW scary it is."
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?” "Oh! Everyone is great, there are a few bad ones though."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?” "Why would they do that?! I haven't done anything wrong! have a right to defend myself!” (Hypocrite)
"What's your idea of a good time?" "Surrounded by all my friends no matter what!”
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I'm tired of getting harmed. My revenge is going on anyone get my hooves on."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I have to cry. If you cry, you feel better afterwards."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "I'm not crazy, my reality is different than yours!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "My GOOD actions make up for my bad ones."
"What do you think of life?" "I feel betrayed by life. No pony exists on purpose. But I find reasons to smile!"
"How are your dreams?" "Usually my dreams are so real, I mistake them for reality. They can be good or bad."
"How was your childhood?" "I thought everything was good, but then I got abandoned and had to find my own way."
"Somepony just lied to you. What do you do?” "I am told by a friend and feel hurt by a liar, and tell them to never talk to me again."
"I see you have a cupcake, can I have one?" "I'll give you more than one! You can have half, and l'll have half, that way it's even."
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Sometimes you see things differently from others because your brain is programmed differently." (And rei says she isn't autistic coded...)
“You know what? You’re an idiot.” “I am NOT an idiot.” (10/10 defence.)
"Last question, how is your sleep?” ur sl "I try to stay up with my friends, but end up falling asleep first. just get really tired if it's been a long day, and sometimes I'II also take naps. I DO feel refreshed while I'm awake, though."
RUN:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "Things are great!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Connection. I just love my friends so much, I don't know what I'd do if I lost them."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, what is your reaction?" "I tend to flee."
"What do you think about the rest of the world other than yourself?" "Some are good, some are bad, that's just the way it is."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "I would ask them why they attacked me!"
"What's your idea of a good time?" “I like to party with my friends, but I also like to make new ones."
"How do you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Revenge never solves anything."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I just try to think positively, even when crying."
"Do you think you are crazy?" "Well, what do you mean by crazy? 'Crazy' as in eccentric, 'crazy' as in insane? I need some more context!" (Reitanna hates rational people who ask questions.)
"When you do something bad, do you feel bad?" "I feel guilty, and that guilt doesn't go away until I confess."
"What do you think of life?" "Life is good. I wake up every morning and I just feel so good!"
"How are your dreams?" “They can be good, they can be bad. It just depends on what my brain is dealing with at the time."
"How was your childhood?" “There were good times and bad. My experiences made me who I am."
"Somepony just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?" "Why would somepony lie to me? No, there must be some mistake. People don't just... LIE... do they?!" (Yeah no one thinks this...)
"Can I have a cupcake?" "I'm not gonna finish them all on my own, silly!'"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Your mind is like a sanctuary; it tells you what is right and what is wrong."
"You know what, I think you're a fucking idiot." "That's not very nice. How can you say something like that so easily?"
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I like to iust settle down and read or something else calming) until I'm tired enough to sleep. I don't have any troubles falling asleep at all."
Anyway, let’s look at Apple Bloom’s answers. She’s optimistic (believing everything will be okay), loyal, “brave,” condescending, anger driven and spiteful. Things we already knew. Her enneagram being 1 is unlikely, unless she’s a very unhealthy one. 2 isn’t impossible, but she doesn’t seem very heart triad, you know? Probably not a 5. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are on the table. I think 6 is the most likely, and we can rule out 8 and 9. She’s probably a sp6w7.
“Preservation Sixes want to feel the embrace of the family, to be in a warm, protected place where there are no enemies. They search for an "idealized other" for protection, and they can have issues that look like separation anxiety. Like a child who needs to hold on to the mother, these Sixes don't feel confident in defending their own self-interests and survival.”
“These Sixes seek to escape anxiety by seeking the security of protection; therefore, they become dependent on others. They have a passion for compensating for the fear of separation, which manifests as warm and friendly temperament. Their driving need is therefore for something like (neurotic) friendship or warmth, which makes this subtype the warmest of these Sixes. They tend to be in a good mood and have a generally pleasant disposition. They look for a bond of intimacy and trust in their relationships, and they fear disappointing others, especially those who are closest to them. Being warm is their way of getting people to be friendly so they won't be attacked.”
However, due to her sx instinct being second, I think she still has some sx 6 traits. Also,
She doesn’t seem to hide her anger. In fact, she actively goes against Pinkie, but that’s when she’s REALLY pissed off towards Diamond Tiara, not her usual mode. In fact, she seems scared of Pinkie otherwise.
Could be sp7, but I doubt it.
Tritype: 638
Okay, figuring out her tritype was HELL, but I think I’ve got it down. So, her heart type was the hardest to find, but I think she’s a 3 fix. Why? Because she’s obsessed with getting her cutie mark, as a means of protection (6 core) from her bullies. As for her gut type, I think we can rule out 1, as she doesn’t really care about morality, and 9, because she isn’t conflict-avoiding.
MBTI: ISTP
So, probably a Fe-Ti user, but I can see her Ti being higher than Fe. As for her other functions, I think… Se-Ni? Maybe Ti-Se-Fe-Ni… but that doesn’t FEEL right. That’s ISTP, right? Um…
She uses Ni in ABGHCM when she predicts Applejack will need stronger restraints, and she has very Ni attitudes in life (“this was meant to happen.”
Ni-Fe? INFJ? Unlikely. Her Fe isn’t THAT strong. Tert Fe seems right. ESTP? But E6 is cognitively introverted. She uses a LOT of Ni.
Actually, I can see Fi-Ni for Apple Bloom, but maybe Inferior Fi? No… Tert Fi? What “values” does she have though? Literally none.
ISTP? She’s kinda manipulative, but inferior Fe users still have Fe in their stack. I mean she literally taunts Applejack by saying “One last bit of sisterly bonding, right?”
And she HAS gone against group values before… I don’t know. I can’t guess very well, but ISTP is the closest I can guess.
SLOAN: SLUEN
Temperament. Sanguine-choleric. [angry sanguine <:()
Conclusion: sp6w7 638 ISTP SLUEN Sanguine-choleric.
Derpy Hooves:
Enneagram: sp7w6
Derpy!! Our blorbo!! We only have Derpy and Babs left, so let’s start with our autistic little blorbo. So, Derpy was abandoned from a young age, and had no friends. Stumbling across Pinkie’s hobby sort of gave her a connection, or someone to rely on. Sp7 is my first thought, to be honest. Not a 1, 2, 3 and probably not a core 4. We can rule out 5, and 6 is unlikely. Same with 8 or 9. In fact, I’m pretty confident she is a 7. I don’t know her instinct though. Reitanna once said on Twitter Derpy struggles with Gluttony, so…
Probably sp/sx 7w6 (still wary) 741.
Okay, so, I probably have to justify that 1 fix. Derpy is very cautious of making a mistake, so the point where she cries because of it. She’s also under the impression that what she’s doing is morally justified to a degree, “what’s bad for you is good for us,” though that could just be selfishness. Her 1 fix is very light, but I feel like she hates the way she was treated and hates how cruel the world is, despite the fact she is a hypocrite.
MBTI: ESFJ
Fe is not impossible, but idk if it’s her dominant function, really so. I think she’s an XSFJ, probably ESFJ. And the reasoning is that she’s very empathetic, albeit selectively, and she values her friends happiness over her own. She doesn’t like change very much, like when Pinkie got taken away, and that’s how anyone would react, but she does seem to like feeling safe and structured. She had an adventurous side though (Tert Neh) and uses VERY flawed logic to justify her actions using her inf logic.
SLOAN: SLUAN.
She’s just a little borbcy.
Temperament: sanguine-phlegmatic.
Conclusion: ESFJ sp7w6 741 SLUAN sanguine-phlegmatic.
Babs Seed’s Typing:
Enneagram: sx6
Ah yes, the best Muffins character. Well, according to Reitanna and only Reitanna, no one else likes her. Anyway, let’s rule out the obvious. She’s probably not a 1, 2, 3 or 4. 4 fix is possible. 7 and 9 is also less likely. 5, 6 and 8 are the main contenders. We can rule out sp6 and so6. I don’t think she’s an 8, as she doesn’t seem to care about control, but protecting herself. So, now we’re torn between 5 and 6. I’m leaning 5? She could also be a 9. No, I think she’s a 5. She’s very obsessed with mindfulness, taming the mind and… she’s also too confident to be a 5. I know, fallacy. But I don’t really understand fives. You’re like aliens.
I don’t think she’s a 5. Probably a 6w7, actually. Sx/sp6.
Tritype: 684
Probably a 8 and 4 fix. Like, she definitely has 4 traits. She gets jealous of ducks. DUCKS. She insists on fighting her OWN battles, and boy does she fight. She has some so8 traits but uh, killing Fluttershy isn’t exactly “protecting the weak.” She thinks homiending is “strong.”
MBTI:
Ahhh… ugh. Okay, so, Fi inferior isn’t impossible, but Ti > Te makes sense. So, maybe Fe tert? ESTP? Se-Ni is obvious. ESTP is my best guess.
SLOAN: SCOEN.
Temperament: choleric-sanguine.
Conclusion: choleric-sanguine ESTP sx6w7 684 SCOEN.
And that’s it! That’s my analysis of the bakers! I don’t plan on making any changes, and I probably WILL change my mind many times. I could go into other characters, but the point is, the writing in Muffins isn’t the best, so that’s unlikely. Chances are, I’ll leave this post here and yeah.
Edit: When I made this post, my understanding of enneagram wasn’t perfect, and my understanding of socionics was worse. If you want to know my updated thoughts, I might make a post about it, but I’ve already made two posts about this at this point. Would you guys like a part three?

Hey 9wing!! Hello and I hope you're doing well <3
I've seen a couple of your posts mentioning this sort of sentiment and now I'm genuinely asking with curiosity; how would one think that Kaylor is a romantic love story?
No doubt, the songs are amazing masterpieces, the long-term perseverance is admirable and there are certainly many aspects of Kaylor that are poetic and remind me of the magic of 'soulmates,' whether that is practically real or not
However, even as a third party observer who has no stakes in this, I find it bleak and tiring sometimes
Constant backlash and scrutiny from the media, the people and most often your own fans; having to communicate in cryptic language; having to engage in unpleasant PR stunts; having to hide a central part of yourself just to survive in this world; not having the liberty to be yourself and love whomever you love loudly and proudly; being constantly misunderstood by a large fraction of the world; being loved but not seen; living in uncertainty about your own rights and freedom when the political climate's so unstable
I understand that life is not without problems and sometimes you have to do what you have to do with whatever choices are at your disposal. And these two will always have my support, and I make sure to respect my own mental health and step away from this site of the internet when things get too much
But how would one see the beauty in this? The light in the darkness? I would love to know and hear your and other's perspectives and what keeps you optimistic despite it all. Thank you and good day
i would love to hear from others!
i think that everyone will have their own definitions of beauty or romance, so i understand where you are coming from, and your impressions are valid for you!
for me, there are aspects of their story that i just cannot find in other places in the world, and it’s always been something that brings me opportunities reflect on my own life and life philosophy.
i think that there is something to be said for the amount of unconditional love that they show one another that appears when picking haven for one another at the risk of their reputations. i recognize that it probably doesn’t look that way for many people but from my perspective, it’s how i see it. there is something singularly authentic about it to me. as a enneagram type 9 (where my username comes from), i gravitate to the concept of holy love like a moth to a flame, and the dynamic of seeing taylor push her lovers away all her life and then meeting karlie and being inspired by karlie but still fighting doubt and ultimately trying to push her away only for karlie to vehemently refuse to leave is just.. something that really speaks to me. it sort of embodies the human struggle not just to give love but to accept love. i’m not sure if i’m explaining it well but there is so much depth to the love that she writes about in these albums, separate from the heavy external factors that have shaped their story.
but for me, those external factors only work to heighten my interest and appreciation for their journey. in my career i’ve done a lot of executive coaching work and study in leadership theory and i find the study of defining moments (sometimes called crucible moments) incredibly interesting and for taylor and karlie, at the top of their game, the stakes could not be higher and their navigation of everything is very interesting to me.
and i think that the struggle is a part of the beauty because i don’t always find easy things beautiful, and by that i don’t mean that pain is beauty in some voyeuristic way but that success after pain feels more spectacular than success without struggle.
if you are a fan of literature or philosophy, i would recommend the seminal work of junichiro tanizaki called “in praise of shadows” — there’s a fairly well known concept in japan called wabi-sabi which is the idea that true beauty is found in the transient and the fleeting. that a falling cherry blossom is more beautiful than a tree in full bloom, or that cracks in pottery ought be to celebrated (there a tradition in japan of fixing cracks in ceramics with gold called kintsugi). tanizaki’s writing is very formative to this concept and it’s something that has giving me a heightened appreciation for things with complication and age.

Okay so you're open to ideas and requests for your fic, so hear me out on that —
What about more domestic scenes between Karl and Winters', especially his step-father relationship with Rose, to also see how he sees Rose and how Rose get along with him, etc? After that fight and odd ritual, they deserve some domestic rest lol definitely.
We've seen Karl and Ethan's relationship development and change, which you wrote and unfold so well, so what about our future step-father and his chaotic kid who's another stubborn blondie?
I am VERY open to this!!! let me just vent....I have found writing rose to be NOTHING but a challenge. babies can't really DO much and she feels like a big rock i have to lug around. That's despite having a child and loving it very very much in real life, lol. I've never written a baby into a story and man holy shit was it difficult. I was kind of hoping to skip ahead a little bit to give Rose more interesting things to do...my hope with the goat (lol) and Karl singing to her was to show that he is actually a great adult to have around kids (since he is one, and since he had such a rough life he's very protective of children--very enneagram 8) haha. BUT I will definitely throw in some extra domestic for ya, and extra Karl and Rose because I find their potential to bond very sweet. Also, with the second book bringing back the other lords, I hope to show some vulnerable/kinder moments with the other lords and Rose as well, because I feel like their role in the game was kind of stunted (as was everyone's)

I think I'll blog about finding out what my Enneagram is, I'm not super familiar with Enneagram.
E4:
Fixation: Melancholy Never happy with the present, always looking toward a happy future.
Yeah, I was like that until I decided to work on being happy in the present.
Trap: Authenticity For this person, the really real mate will always be just around the comer of the next hour or day, or year. With such a mate, this person will then be fulfilled and so authentic.
Ok guilty of thinking like that.
Holy Idea: Holy Origin Once he realizes that his essence originates from perfect being, then he knows that he is “really real” now, and not sometime in the future.
I don't buy into this spiritual bullshit.
Passion: Envy The Ego-Melancholy person, hoping for the perfect mate or situation in order to feel really real and fulfilled, tends to think most others have achieved this and, of course, is envious of their seeming happiness and earthiness.
Ok, yeah, true. I see others in a better off situation and go "I wish that were me"
Virtue: Equanimity Happiness in the present moment or equanimity will help overcome the envy of the happiness of others.
I think I'm reaching this point eventually.
E5:
Fixation: Stinginess Desires anonymity and to view life from the sidelines
I'm stingy, but that's because I don't earn a lot and I have student loans to pay off and the future to think about... This does lead to viewing life from the sidelines, because everything takes money to participate in.
Trap: Observer
For him life is fascinating to watch from a safe hidden place, but is much too terrifying to take part in.
I won't say too terrifying, more like I've been through a lot of things, so I have no desire to take part in most of it. But also, I have no desire to watch others participate. It's none of my business.
Passion: Avarice
Anonymity and security are important to the Ego-Stinge in order that he can safely watch the world from the peephole of his hiding place. Not only is he avid for the means to maintain his corner, he also is greedy for knowledge of what is going on in life, so that he can feel alive.
Ok yeah, I mean, financial security is important for my happiness. But it's only scientific that financial security correlates with individual happiness. Facts! It's universal!
Virtue: Detachment
Detachment from his secure hiding place and from the need to know everything will relieve him of his avarice, the struggle to protect his anonymity.
What, like Buddhism?
Conclusion: Enneagram seems like spiritual bs from a scientific perspective. Also, I might be 4w5.

Hebi anon here
Get your analysis glasses out for the tortured middle child, cause this arc definitely seems to be a Daiji arc
FINALLY
Tumblr media
my time to fking SHINE.
I have no idea what happens in 34 to what? 36? But from what we're currently seeing (up to 33) I think it's....hmmmm intriguing??
I say this cuz I've been reading up on some psych stuff lately <33.
But I find it interesting tha tmore than once someone's mentioned to Daiji something about how "Righteousness" and "Justice" doesn't always mean the same thing -- or what did Akemi say??
Something something "Things aren't black and white." ?
Tumblr media
(Close enough)
Like the gist I'm getting is that trying to do things on the "Straight and narrow" path perhaps isn't always the best choice for the situation.
Which is rlly intersting because Daiji is of the belief that he has no inner demon anymore and he's just 100% pure holy justice and
✨wholesome goodness ✨.
Which --Ppl can say whatever they want but its legit impossible to just...get rid of your inner demon(s).
Like that stuff is built into your psyche.
And as we've seen in Revice an Inner-demon is SO much more than one thing. It's intrusive thoughts, fear, things you want but can't tell anyone about, as well as things you DON'T want but are anxious about -etc etc.
Tumblr media
But......at it's foundation those demons are built on the coping mechanism you choose in childhood to cope with the world and what not.
Even ep 26, Kagerou's line:
"Let's make things Black and White" .........is SO fascinating to me because narratively -- that's the exact OPPOSITE of what Daiji should be doing? A mentally healthy individual needs to learn to accept the darker parts of themselves.
Which is something all the siblings are slowly working towards. But, Daiji? He's literally the only one who has not really worked towards that at all? He continiously rejected his inner demon (until he couldn't anymore), he ignored Kagerou, and well --
He "Killed" him, didn't he? 👀.....
Well I know Kagerou isn't dead. Logically that wouldn't make sense. Now -- I *DO* think perhaps Daiji did destroy their initial 'contract' -- of Kagerou being the "Mirage" Coping Mechanism .
But Daiji's way of coping with the world has (and will always) be
✨Dishonesty ✨
(I'm using the Enneagram for my analysis btw LOL!!! I think its scarily accurate -- esp for the Igarashi Sibs <333)
...
Since Daiji's an Enneagram type 3
-- This means he's part of the feelings triad.
These three personality types have common assets and liabilities which involve their feelings. When these types are healthy, their feelings are the focus of what's admirable about their personalities, enabling them to become highly valued for their interpersonal qualities. When they are unhealthy, however, their emotions are out of balance in one way or another.
....:D
Average Threes, however, are the most out of touch with their emotions and with their individuality. They suppress their feelings in order to perform more effectively and to make others like them. They lose touch with their feelings as they try to get the success and affirmation they crave.
Unhealthy Threes can become hostile and extremely malicious if they do not get the admiring attention they desire.
Tumblr media
The Two, Three, and Four have common problems with their identity and with hostility, which they may take out either on themselves or on others, or both.
Their problems with identity stem from a rejection of their own authentic self in favor of a persona that they believe would be more acceptable in some way. Although all of the nine types are involved in maintaining a "false self-image,"
Tumblr media
this is the central problem for these types.
Thus, all three are highly concerned with issues of self-esteem, personal value, appreciation, and shame, and with getting others to validate the self-image they have created.
..........
Hmmm? Are you starting to piece together the puzzle pieces?
Threes, in the center of the Triad, both look to others to validate a positive self-image and look inward to their imaginations to create an idealized self that they try to actualize.
....
Of these types, Threes are potentially the most estranged from their own feelings and needs because their image concerns are both externally and internally generated.
Threes look outside themselves to determine what activities or qualities are valued by the people who matter to them, and they try to become the kind of person who has those qualities. At the same time, they engage in a lot of inner dialogue and imagination about the kind of person they would like to become.
Tumblr media
...
Unhealthy:
Fearing failure and humiliation, they misrepresent themselves, distorting the truth of their accomplishments. They can be extremely unprincipled, covetous of the success of others, and willing to do "whatever it takes" to preserve the illusion of their superiority. / Exploitative and opportunistic, but also deceptive so that their mistakes and wrongdoings will not be exposed. Pathological lying, extreme hostility, and delusional jealousy: betraying and sabotaging people in order to triumph over them. / May become vindictive, attempting to ruin what they cannot have. Relentless, obsessive about destroying whatever reminds them of their own shortcomings and failures.
Psychopathic tendencies: murder.
Threes, the primary personality type in the Feeling Triad, are the most out of touch with their emotional lives.
This is because Threes have learned to put their own feelings and their own true desires aside in order to function more effectively. Threes believe that they will be valued only for what they do, so they put their energies into performing well, "getting the job done," and becoming successful in their endeavors, however "success" may be defined. Further, Threes want positive responses from others, so they learn to behave in ways that they believe will create a good impression.
Over time, as Threes continually postpone dealing with their own real feelings, they begin to have trouble accessing them.
A profound split develops between who they seem to be and who they are, between the image they project to others and the reality behind it. Eventually, their image becomes their only reality.
They become so distanced from their own feelings and needs that they no longer know who they are. They believe that the image is all they have.
At this point, since whatever affirmation they are receiving is in response to an image, and not to themselves, no amount of praise or achievement will make them feel better. The great challenge for people of this personality type is to become inner-directed, to develop themselves as persons according to their genuine feelings and their own true values. Most Threes are unaware of the extent to which they have abandoned themselves, and it can be a very difficult realization when they discover that the dreams they have been so relentlessly pursuing are not their own.
....
If they become unhealthy, Threes deceive themselves and others so they can maintain the illusion that they're still on top—still superior people. They are extremely devious if they are in danger of being exposed and humiliated.
Unhealthy Threes are like any other type with deep psychological problem: they have difficulty functioning.
Yet for Threes, functioning, or at this stage, even the appearance of functioning, is everything. They are terrified that anyone will discover the degree of their disorder.
They can become extremely dangerous as they strike out at anyone who they perceive threatens the crumbling image which they now identify with entirely.
Tumblr media
Maliciousness may reach dangerous proportions as neurotic Threes become obsessed with ruining others so they can triumph.
This is the dark, hidden side of themselves which they cannot show to others nor even to themselves.
At this stage, Threes can become utterly psychopathic, ignoring the normal limits of behavior, acting out their cruelest fantasies of revenge. Having no internal brakes on their behavior, they do whatever they can until their fury is spent, others are ruined, or someone stops them. Their dissociation may be so complete, however, that after striking out viciously, they may actually have no conscious recollection of having done so.
...
Threes are finely attuned to people's reactions to them, and can respond by projecting whatever image they need at the moment. But since their repertoire of images does not have a corresponding measure of reality behind it, everything they do is done for affirmation, not because they are personally committed to, or deeply involved with, whatever they are expressing (being "politically correct").
Tumblr media
Hostility serves Threes in two ways: first, it compensates for their own feelings of inadequacy, and second, it keeps away people who, for one reason or another, undermine their fragile self-esteem. In this latter regard, less healthy Threes may even be hostile to people who they admire.
...
Deeply pathological Threes fear that their falseness and emptiness—not to mention their wrongdoings—will be exposed.
They have every reason to believe that if such an event were to occur, they would be completely ruined. There would be no chance for them to ever escape their unbearable feelings of worthlessness and inferiority. Indeed, the success and apparent superiority of others mocks them and humiliates them at every turn. It seems to them that others are, and will always be, superior to them. At this stage, they move beyond deception into unmitigated vindictiveness, in effect saying, "I will triumph over you no matter what it takes!" And, if they have nothing to lose, neurotic Threes will stop at nothing. Since they now have no capacity to empathize with anyone, nothing restrains them from seriously harming others. Indeed, destroying anyone or anything that reminds them of the wretchedness they are still trying to fend off becomes a monomaniacal obsession.
LoL. Imagine.
Davy-jones beat the snot out of him this episode, I wouldn't be surprised if Daiji hitched all of his failure and unstable identity on the Fenix Director,...
Lmao.
Imagine Daiji actually says something like "I will triumph over you no matter what it takes!"
Literally would be SO fking funny. Daiji really do be hitting his enneagram profile waayyyy too well.
At Level 8, Threes are desperately trying to cover up their misdeeds as well as the depth of their dysfunction.
They are cut off from their feelings, and in the interest of saving their image, are capable of dangerous and criminal actions. Although they may be successful at concealing their true condition for a while, they are too broken down to avoid periods of collapse.
When they go to Nine, the full extent of their distress and their lack of development are laid bare. They may regress to earlier parts of their life, replaying childhood triumphs or traumas. They may also alternate between depressive, dissociative periods and sudden hysterical outbursts.
They will, if at all possible, avoid letting anyone see them like this, and, as long as they have the strength to do so, will restore their image whenever they interact with others.
[Taken from the Book: “Personality Types. Using the Enneagram for Self Discovery”].
ALLL of this nonsense just to say that Daiji is prolly gonna go off the deep end if all these vague and ominous inbox stuff I get are any indicator (LOL) . To be honest I think the above description of the Level 9 situation might happen and if so I'm fking looking forward to THAT sh*t.
I do know Kagerou literally has to come back.
Tumblr media
Like honesty. I did NOT forget about Daiji’s smile at crisped Ikki’s body
💀💀💀
Rn I have the baseless theory that (Similar to how a Type 3 cuts off their authentic selves and separates from their emotions as they sink lower and lower) that although Daiji's win over Kagerou could have been a very positive thing --If Daiji learned to confront his own internal problems instead of focusing on the recognition of the external ones.
Instead I think him cutting of Kagerou was also him cutting off who he is as a person in order to fit into this righteous, holy, "Justice" mode he believes is valued by the people he cares about. And now with whatever the hell is going on with DV-J
-- if Daiji continues to take L's ---
My dude will probably spiral because his curated self-image will be threatened.
.

Interesting that the measure for “Love” is what’s used to make the curry hot.

I have listened to Eight long enough that it's starting to settle in and I have thoughts...
First of all, it fits Alastair so well. The way he starts to shut everyone out to protect himself and tries so hard to be strong.
I was just a kid who grew up strong enough To pick this armor up And suddenly it fit
This is basically when Alastair had to start taking care of Elias
I won’t let you in, I swore never again I can't afford, no, I refuse to be rejected
This in combination with the recept snippet where Alastair is described as very sensitive to rejection
When I see fragile things, helpless things, broken things I see the familiar
This is really how Alastair views himself, along with truly believing he's a bad person. It's also a lot worse after Elias returns and then dies, I think before then he wasn't doing too bad all things considering but after Elias returned he really returned to the worst of hating himself and blaming himself
I'm standing guard, I'm falling apart And all I want is to trust you
Alastair wants to trust Thomas
I’m all in, palms out, I’m at your mercy now And I'm ready to begin I am strong, I am strong, I am strong enough to let you in
I hope this happens sometime in Chain of Thorns
HI SORRY IM LATE
I over booked myself this week and have been suffering the consequences
It fits Alastair very well. I dont think I've ever been able to listen to the song without falling into some sort of crisis because it just. Thats him. It fits THAT well. Usually when i relate songs to characters its more "oh its good and theres this specific part thats incredibly good"
But here? I cant separate smth that really hits because EVERYTHING hits. I find myself fixiating on a specific lyric every ones in a while to just sit and stare at it. Im biased ofc the enneagram album is my favorite album ever but its so *good*
All the lyrics you picked are basically perfect and i agree with your descriptions so much.
Personally I've beeb thinking the lyric where it goes "When i see fragile things helpless things broken things. I see the familiar. I was little, I was weak, I was perfect too now im a broken mirror" reminded me a lot of how you wrote Alastair in the maybe a bit earlier parts of Stars *elephant*
"Now you wont see all that I have to loose and all I've lost in the fight to protect it" also reminded me of that scene in chog wirh James where hes saying he has no idea what hes done for his family
"Im shattered porcelain glued back together again. Invinsible like I've never been"
This does fit Alastair but I just personally think this lines gorgeus. I wanted to mention
Im so glad you liked it!!! Also im sorry i cant resist now if you want ofc you can listen to nine which is Thomas song and holy fuck do I have things to say

i got inspired and did Nøkk's enneagram and damn it's REALLY calling him out
Tumblr media
His results put him at type 6, and considering that he's a resisting Dark Urge, his holy idea being faith is ironic to say the least
Now for some unassorted analysis of the type from various sites
"Key Motivations: Want to have security, to feel supported by others, to have certitude and reassurance, to test the attitudes of others toward them, to fight against anxiety and insecurity."
"They will defend their community or family more tenaciously than they will defend themselves."
"The reason Sixes are so loyal to others is that they do not want to be abandoned and left without support—their Basic Fear. Thus, the central issue for type Six is a failure of self-confidence. Sixes come to believe that they do not possess the internal resources to handle life’s challenges and vagaries alone, and so increasingly rely on structures, allies, beliefs, and supports outside themselves for guidance to survive. If suitable structures do not exist, they will help create and maintain them."
I think that bit is especially interesting and mostly accurate to Nøkk, because he does have a deep need for people to like him and be there so he can acquire what he wants. But also, it gives insight into why Nøkk stayed at the Bhaal temple all those years. I think Durge was pretty secluded from the rest of the world, and relied heavily on the temple in general.
"This does not mean that they do not think. On the contrary, they think—and worry—a lot! They also tend to fear making important decisions, although at the same time, they resist having anyone else make decisions for them. They want to avoid being controlled, but are also afraid of taking responsibility in a way that might put them “in the line of fire.”"
Next bit only applies to pre-tadpole Nøkk, but it's interesting to consider that in the context of the Bhaal temple once again.
"Sixes attempt to build a network of trust over a background of unsteadiness and fear. They are often filled with a nameless anxiety and then try to find or create reasons why. Wanting to feel that there is something solid and clear-cut in their lives, they can become attached to explanations or positions that seem to explain their situation. Because “belief” (trust, faith, convictions, positions) is difficult for Sixes to achieve, and because it is so important to their sense of stability, once they establish a trustworthy belief, they do not easily question it, nor do they want others to do so. The same is true for individuals in a Six’s life: once Sixes feel they can trust someone, they go to great lengths to maintain connections with the person who acts as a sounding board, a mentor, or a regulator for the Six’s emotional reactions and behavior. They therefore do everything in their power to keep their affiliations going. (“If I don’t trust myself, then I have to find something in this world I can trust.”)"
And then!
"The biggest problem for Sixes is that they try to build safety in the environment without resolving their own emotional insecurities. When they learn to face their anxieties, however, Sixes understand that although the world is always changing and is, by nature uncertain, they can be serene and courageous in any circumstance. And they can attain the greatest gift of all, a sense of peace with themselves despite the uncertainties of life."
YEAH!!! That's a big part of Nøkk's arc!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The development levels are also fascinating. I think Nøkk starts the game with level 4. I wouldn't say these are necessarily accurate to him, but the levels do help me with fleshing him out a bit more. Like, I do love the unhealthy levels, but Nøkk is also highly preoccupied with how others view him so it takes some grade A turmoil for his facade to crack even a bit.
For the wing thing, he's 6w5, and his weaknesses are spot on lmaoo
Tumblr media
"Enneagram 6w5s tend to be stressed and drained by needing to express themselves emotionally," YEAH HE DOES. Nøkk is soo unbelievably emotionally constipated. It would kill him to speak his emotions out loud.
He also had a pretty high score in types 3 and 5, and the next bits are so Nøkk
"Key Motivations: Want to possess knowledge, to understand the environment, to have everything figured out as a way of defending the self from threats from the environment."
"Become image-conscious, highly concerned with how they are perceived. Begin to package themselves according to the expectations of others and what they need to do to be successful. Pragmatic and efficient, but also premeditated, losing touch with their own feelings beneath a smooth facade. Problems with intimacy, credibility, and "phoniness" emerge."
I know Enneagrams are pseudoscience and don't capture the full range of multitudes humans and characters contain but this was so much fun and very useful for fleshing my boy out further!

Faith (6) vs. Truth (8)
as I beat the meat of this 6 vs. 8 topic that has been tormenting not just me, but the entire typology community for decades, I can get better at summarizing the difference between 6's core concerns and 8's core concerns.
-----
Faith (6) is a mental concept.
Faith is about daring to believe in what your conscious brain believes. Faith is about finding a mental perception of reality to believe in. Faith, in its attempt to be "objective", is detached from the body's emotional reactions, which are "subjective"... hence Faith is detached from emotion altogether. And yet having no Faith leads to mental instability and a swarth of negative emotions... how funny. 6s freak out when they see subjective thinking being done out loud, in my experience, because it threatens their mental perception of reality that they have placed Faith in. they don't have this instinct in them that can just say "um, you're wrong. Bye." well, they do have it but they need to develop it through integration to 9.
When your mental world is in chaos, you must lean on the physical Faith you have in your body to help you to survive. 6s have no such faith in their essence, which is felt through all three centres, not just the brain and the heart. 6s are missing the ability to perceive essence and conviction in their bodies, so they lean entirely on brain-based worldviews (this is an alien concept to Gut triads. yikes). 6s don't realize that only a healthy degree of attachment to their body's instincts can save them from all their Doubt. The most robust and solid mental perception ever means nothing without the raw instinctual belief that "this is true! because I fucking said so!" backing it up. 6s place all of their Faith in their transcendental brains to compensate for their lack of Faith in their bodies and instincts. This is why 6 integrates into the center of the body triad (6 -> 9). but this isn't to say 6s should give up on their mental search for Faith, their search for an objectively true worldview which tells us how to protect humanity from losing its essence. I'm just saying that for this search to be any good, 6s need to balance it out with some raw conviction in their bodies and in themselves.
-----
Truth (8) is a physical concept.
It is ALL ABOUT the body's emotional reactions. Truth throws out any "truth" that doesn't fit with my sense of insight and my feelings. 6s say "facts don't care about your feelings", 8s say "my feelings are facts because I Know". Truth is about the right to follow your instincts unbridled, because whatever your instincts tell you is true, is definitely true. There is no need to trust anything other than your animal instincts and the insight they are driven by, since there is no such thing as Truth in the external world.
8s throw out systems and institutions invented by 6s in which attempt to understand the world mentally. 8s believe that the mental realm can never provide insight; insight can only be found from following my body's instincts. My instincts are the Truth. Any mental conception of Truth you have to offer me from outside of me and my body is just an elaborate power game. I will be the final judge of what is true or untrue, using the mystical insight of my instincts. All societal ideas of "Truth" are just shat out of somebody's ass, the way I shit the Truth out of my ass, so there is no reason to seek an agreed-upon truth the way that 6s do, this will only lead to more power games and more deception and more loss of Truth in the world. It is better if we all just completely isolate ourselves and live in our own world as free (wo)men with our own resources and weapons to defend ourselves. Everyone is better off if we are isolated and only living for ourselves in a dog-eat-dog world, because it is impossible to come to a consensus regarding Truth, something that doesn't even exist.
Like how Faith is felt through all three triads, so is Truth. 8s are stupid and think it is only felt through their own bodies and their own minds. They must feel Truth in their hearts too. When they do this they realize that the heart Truth (2) is calling them to consider other people's perspectives and integrate other people's truths into their lives (esp. God's will), instead of blindly follow themselves.

Just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge of the enneagram with the community. It really feels like unlocking some kind of cheat code for understanding the way that other people work, especially when it comes to ccs and others we only see a "simplified" version of their personality. While I was watching Tommy's a tribute to dsmp video, it honestly felt like you had ghostwritten the part about always needing to stream with someone else as a demonstration of typical 6 behavior lol
THANK YOU ANON that means a lot ;v;.
I’m glad that people are learning things that they find useful/valuable, and the idea that people think about the stuff I’ve written after they’ve read it is a real “holy shit I exist” moment.

Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable.
Type 9 - The Peacemaker
The Easygoing, Self-Effacing Type: Receptive, Reassuring, Agreeable, and Complacent
Basic Fear: Of loss and separation
Basic Desire: To have inner stability and "peace of mind"
Holy Idea; Love, Action. Sin; Sloth, Indolence.
Key motivations: Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them.
Disintegration (stress): complacent Nines suddenly become anxious and worried at Six.
At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.
Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness.

Mental health as a 9w1: a submission
Ah, 9s. The koalas who love their blanket forts and scented candles and everything cosy. That stereotype feels – completely true for me, most days :’) But I’d like to share something I don’t often see mentioned with 9s and mental health, in case it helps anyone else.
The core fear of 9s is usually described as ‘fear of conflict’. This is certainly true (can’t count the number of butterflies in my tummy after sending a risky text). However, the original Enneagram texts also say that 9s fear ‘loss and separation’. I see these fears mentioned less on the internet, perhaps because they sound more vague (separation from what? Loss of what?). But in my experience, they can be equally powerful.
Every 9 will experience ‘fear of loss and separation’ differently. For me, as an ISFJ 9w1 2w1 6w7, it isn’t only fearing the loss of my loved ones or separation from them. It’s also the level of turmoil in the universe as a whole. I often feel overwhelmed by the scale of pain and division in the world. Scrolling through Twitter and seeing heated arguments one after the other makes my heart race; turning on the TV and seeing endless stories of disaster and suffering on the news drains me; stories of betrayal and tragedy in novels and shows impair my concentration for the rest of the day. Exposure to these things is perhaps especially challenging for 9w1s for two reasons.
For one, the 9w1 combination (especially with double-1 wings in the tritype) gives us a yearning for peace and goodness in the world. The Holy Idea for 9s is Love. For me, it manifests as a heart’s-desire to live in an interconnected world where people are kind to each other and we live in harmony with the earth and all its creatures. So ‘loss and separation’ isn’t just literal (eg. leaving home) but also metaphorical (the wound of how much we humans hurt each other and the planet). For another, 9s merge. I feel not just saddened by images of devastation, but actually pulled into what people (fictional or real) are experiencing. Merging is such a strange phenomenon that it’s hard to describe, but I know I find it very difficult to detach from what I see, read or hear.
What helps my mental health is a balance of challenge and self-care. I work in a humanitarian role which forces me to confront my core fears on a daily basis. Yesterday’s workday involved interviewing a child who experienced family abuse; advocating for women experiencing domestic violence; and writing about bullying prevention. My 9 winces at the cruelty I witness each day, but my 9 is also deeply fulfilled by actively working for peace and serving others.
I’m gentle with my boundaries when I come home, though. I may spend the day grappling with the hard reality of trauma and violence, but I’m not going to spend my evening watching Game of Thrones or a war documentary. I’ll read my Anne of Green Gables series, cuddle with my family and animals, brew my favourite chamomile tea, and re-watch Little House on the Prairie. I also subscribe to PositiveNews and Upworthy to remind myself of stories of kindness and healing. The bright side of merging is that, hey, you can merge with good things too :)
I hope this lets other 9s know they’re not alone and helps non-9s know why we’re so sensitive sometimes. My mental health advice to my fellow 9s would be: it’s OK not to feel able to consume angsty content, even if your friends can take it. Don’t believe any stereotype about 9s not being driven, that’s not true - I know tons of fiercely hardworking 9s in my department, and you may find that a job or role that lets you work for peace and human well-being is uniquely fulfilling and motivating because it nudges you closer to the Holy Idea of our number, Love. If you feel overwhelmed by the core fears, nurture yourself through self-care (whether that’s comfort reads or cozy things). Remember you can merge with nice things too!
To non-9s, I’d say: if the 9s in your life seem reluctant to read an angsty novel with you or wuss out at horror movies - it doesn’t make them immature or childish. As Charity has also explained, they may just have different boundaries and sensitivities. For all you know, your 9 might already feel flooded by the weight of bad things in the world and be craving some relief from emotional overload. Encourage them to channel their love of peace into real-life work, but also tell them nice or uplifting stories and remind them of all the goodness still left in the world - it might just make their day ❤️

Tatiana Amell - The Basics
Thank you for the tag 🥺 @wild-houseplant one (1) Tia for you - I couldn't nab a screenshot because the cc makes her look so thin and she is Not so I made her in this dollmaker instead. Since a bunch of Circumstances change over time for her, I'm setting this in her Warden-worldstate, around a few years after the events of Awakening, while she's still Warden-Commander at Vigil's Keep.
Tagging: Lessee I know @greyvvardenfell has elder scrolls friends to share with the class, @sunrisenfool if you would like, and @ollifree u too <3
Character’s name: Tatiana Mariah Amell
Role in story: Hero of Ferelden
Age: 19 at her Harrowing, 20 by the time she gets to like, Redcliffe. Which means she's in her mid twenties here ig
Physical description:
Holy shit she's so pretty you have no idea Short, like, really short for a human, curvy and chubby (she's always been described as voluptuous). She has deep bronze skin, and black hair she painstakingly cuts into these feathery, bouncy waves. The front few strands of her hair are dyed cobalt blue. At this point in her timeline, she has hair till her mid-back, more or less. She has wide eyes, I describe them as raw-honey brown, fringed by thick lashes, and framed by thick eyebrows. There's a burn mark around her left eye, from when she came into her magic. Her faceclaim is the lovely Aiswarya Lekshmi-

MBTI/Enneagram Personality Type:

Internal Life
What is their greatest fear?
Isolation, and relatedly, abandonment. When her magic manifested, she had witnessed how her loving family had turned against her, inflicting all manners of abuses on her in hopes that her magic would be "exorcised" (think Chateau d'Onterre), following which she was ripped away from them to a loveless, frightening life at the Circle. It's safe to say that she never recovered from those wounds, and so she lives in absolute terror of being alone, or abandoned. She also suffered bouts of being locked up in Kinloch's dungeons whenever she "acted up", leading to this fear worsening.
Inner motivation:
Her loneliness, actually. Or to put it in happier terms, her need for connection. Everything she does is informed by it, from her mistakes to her legend, it's all so she could prove that there was something worth staying for, in herself.
Kryptonite:
Love. Tia lives by her heart. She would go to just about any lengths for love, to find it, and to keep it. It has led her to many unsavory places before, to many reckless decisions, to many ways of being taken advantage of by those with ill-intentions. Luckily, her love is also deeply informed by compassion; and I don't mean just romantic love; she would gladly lay down and die for Morrigan, her best friend, if it meant she would love her just a little more.
What is their misbelief about the world?
That magic is a curse. This definitely doesn't translate as distaste for fellow mages or anything, though, she absolutely believes that the Circles are cruel systems. But magic destroyed her life, and it destroyed her family, and everything was fine before she had it. Chantry brainwashing didn't help this mentality either, though Tia's fiercely an atheist. She just believes that her magic is a dreadful thing, and only if she tries really really hard, she would be good despite it.
Lesson they need to learn:
That not everyone needs to like her, and she does not need it to be salvaged.
What is the best thing in their life?
Zevran.
What is the worst thing in their life?
At this point? Responsibility. She bears it well enough, but being responsible for an Arling as well as the Wardens takes a huge toll on her mental health, especially since as Commander, she can't hold on to people for support as she needs to.
What do they most often look down on people for?
Aside from the obvious, like idk, being racist, she doesn't like people who are austere to prove a point. She's an utter hedonist, and she's sorry they can't seem to get that happiness is the point, actually.
What makes his/her/their heart feel alive?
So many things. Sunrise, sunset, feeling the wind in her hair, laughter, pretty dresses, music, dancing, sex, the way Zevran smiles when he says her name...
What makes them feel loved, and who was the last person to make them feel that way?
Constancy. She may be wild and free, and her tastes are wild and free, but she craves a relationship with constancy; she's had many partners who have used up her devotion and discarded her, so she wants to know, every day, that her love is returned, that it will not grow tiresome, that wherever she may go, he will love her through it all. And he does. Zevran does.
Top three things they value most in life?
Love, freedom, compassion.
External Life
Is there an object they can’t bear to part with and why?
Hmm..she actually loses stuff all the time, but I would say its the earring she got from Zev. They spoil each other rotten with gifts all the damn time, but that one is special, it was his first token of love.
Describe a typical outfit for them from top to bottom:
She typically wears her hair in a ponytail, though she glams it up by leaving a lot of loose strands to artfully frame her face. (She clips them back if she's like in battle or something). Makeup is a touch of blush if she feels like she needs it, eyeliner and lipstick. She has 'em specially enchanted to keep her lips soft uwu. Sometimes, she wears flowers in her hair as well. If she's not in her Warden-Armour, she's particular about her mage robes (the Circle ones were so drab), they're usually in bright colors- blue, or pink, sometimes in ombre shades. She likes adding touches to beautify it, like floral emboridery, shimmery shawls, and the like. If not robes, she loves gowns and long skirts, cut low at the neck and with poofy sleeves. Shoes she mostly wears flats, in matching colors, for ease of moving about.
What names or nicknames have they been called throughout their life?
The Amells used to call her "Butterfly", her mother in particular called her "my little butterfly". Everyone at the Circle simply called her "Amell." (Anders sticks with this actually, after they were past the "Warden-Commander" stage of their friendship.) "Tia" is usually the name for those close to her. Zevran calls her as such, along with "my sweet", "my dearest", "mi amora" and like, a litany of Antivan petnames. Morrigan calls her "young lady", affectionately. She's aunty Tia to Kieran, and Cousin Tia to Viktor and Bethany Hawke.
(Aside from this of course, there have been many derogatory things she'd been called both at the Circle and by her detractors at Amaranthine, on account of her "reputation" (read: stupid gossip), as well as the fact that she's a Free Marcher and proud of it. "Harlot" is probably the most refined of these names.)
What is their method of manipulation?
Charm. She appeals to people's heart, to their ego, she can pretend to be a friend, a confidant. Seduction too, if it calls for it. She's trained herself to weaponize her looks (she knows she's seen as very attractive), and play up a harmless damsel act to get people in her pocket. And it works remarkably well. Teagan, for one, was practically eating out of her hand by the time she was done batting her lashes and simpering at him.
Growing up, manipulation had been the most effective harm reduction strategy she had, and she's not shy about using it to get what she wants.
Describe their daily routine:
Assuming she's not out on expedition or anything; wake up (on duty, she's up very early), get dressed, etc, then she likes to look over the recruits' early morning, run a few drills with the mages. Then breakfast with her buddies at the Keep, meetings and briefings at the start of the day with the Senior Wardens, then with Seneschal Varel, back to do a few rounds of training so she doesn't lose the sunshine, and then she gets to her study to answer letters. At this point, there will be petitioners from the Arling at her door whom Varel couldn't deal with himself, so she tends to them. She likes to take lunch with the newer recruits to keep their spirits up and get to know how they're adapting. Then she retires to her study to answer more fucking letters because those things never end. More meetings in the evening, review and such like. She has a bunch of projects on the go- fortifying the Keep, renovating things, and so on. Ever since she restored trade to the Arling, she also likes to throw the occassional ball or banquet.
If she has a relatively free day, she likes to take a carraige out to the city to mingle with the people so they wouldn't forget that their Arlessa has a face. She takes dinner fairly late, saving Zev's letter for the last before she pines and snuggles one of his scarves until she falls asleep. (They do have an open relationship, so like, she's free to take others to bed if she comes upon someone who catches her eye, so, when that happens..)
Their go-to cure for a bad day?
Depends on how bad. Mercifully, a lot of hiccups at work don't really get to her at this point. (I mean she's stared down a whole archdemon and lived, sure, a deep roads exit is sealed off, cry her a river, I guess). If she's just like, annoyed, she usually has someone duel it out of her, or she rants until she feels better. Or she eats, because dessert makes everything better. If she's sad, she cries it out. Her emotions, once triggered are very all over the place, so if it's particularly bad, she shuts herself away if someone who can handle it isn't around, so she wouldn't lash out or hurt people with it.
If Zevran's around, she has him lie on top of her like a weighted blanket. Or they have sex. For the dopamine, etc.
Goals
How are they dissatisfied with their life?
During this timeframe, the Warden-Commander thing is starting to get really old. Tend to the Keep, fight darkspawn, rinse-repeat as a lifestyle is stifling to her; she wants to be free to see the world, to pursue beauty and adventure. And worst of all, Zevran is far away. He's fighting battles of his own, and she wants to be right beside him as he does. He visits as much as he can, as does she, but she's so sick of having to wait for months before she sees him again (and have I mentioned that she snuggles his clothing to sleep). Morrigan is also far away, in Orlais. Another factor is the supposedly apolitical nature of the Grey Wardens. She's well aware of the rising tensions in many Circles now, Starkhaven has already fallen. Even with her position as Arlessa of Amaranthine, the Warden-Commander thing binds her from actively helping her fellow mages, which she so badly wants to do, as does she want to freely express her political opinions, as she's well aware of the weight her word carries, as the Hero of Ferelden. Have I also mentioned that she misses Zevran?
What would bring them true happiness or contentment?
A world without Circles, a world without Crows, a world without the Calling, her and Zevran and the wide open world, a house by the sea, a couple children that noone can take away from her, plenty to keep them warm and fed, friends to love them. And family. How she wants family.
What definitive step could they take to turn their dream into a reality?
Resign from the Wardens, hunt down the Crows with Zevran, join the mage rebellion, maybe. But "resign from the Wardens", is the problem, isn't it? Well, she could go find the cure to her Calling. But she dare not take such a journey at this particular political climate.
How has their fear kept them from taking this action already?
It's not fear, but ironically, a sense of responsibility. Ferelden, despite all it had taken from her, had given her so much, and it loves her so well now. She could never abandon these people for as long as they need her, no matter how tempting it may be to just. Leave. And not return.
How do they feel they can accomplish their goal while still steering clear of the thing they are afraid of?
She adapts, adapts, adapts. Can't politick openly as Warden-Commander? Okay, maybe she can invite the King and Queen for tea, can't she? She can do that. Maybe the next frightened mage-child in Amaranthine won't be tortured or punished, if their beloved Arlessa had something to say about it. She trusts Zevran to call her when he needs her, and then she will go to him. As it is, she takes leave when she can and does so anyway. Besides, her fortress is a sanctuary to him when he needs to lie low. Who would dare touch a hair on his head when he's beside the Hero of Ferelden? She feels stifled in her life? That's what the balls and banquets are for, to bring a touch of liveliness, her liveliness to the legacy of Vigil's Keep. If Warden-Commanding is no fun, she'll be a fun Warden-Commander. She longs for family? Okay, Morrigan is practically her sister, and Kieran is her nephew. They aren't here, but they write to her often. And for more family? Well, Bethany Hawke was transferred there from the Free Marches, and wouldn't you know it, they're cousins! And her brother Vicky lives at the Amell estate, herd childhood home. They stay in touch, and Viktor keeps her posted on the goings-on at Kirkwall, (and Anders, because that guy just dropped off the radar so rudely). If the rules really can't be broken (she does break them), they can be bent. And Tia is gifted in twisting them into pretzels.
She's spent far too much of her life drowning in her own pain to not take joy wherever she could, even if perfect happiness has to wait. For now.
