Hey there!

Welcome to my blog, name's Lady G, you can also call me Lady or Gaby, and this is my place for everything I enjoy or I'm interested in like selfshipping, some discourse, fandom and a bit of politics.

I identify as a genderfluid person, so you can use any pronouns when talking to me, I really don't mind.

I enjoy reading and writing, and I hope to start posting about my ideas in here, I'm eager to share my thoughts about my shipps and ideas, but maybe I'll post them in Spanish. I also like to draw and will post my drawings, maybe, I'm not sure.

I'm a selfshipper and also support oc x canon shipps, so this is your safe place for everyone that enjoys this.

Encanto World Building Headcanons

Maybe not the most exciting headcanon list, but I’m trying to nail down how the Encanto functions as a society, so this is what I’m doing rn!

I’ve said it before, but the Encanto probably can’t be completely self sufficient, despite what the creators said. I suspect they trade for raw materials such as glass, or stone for bricks; and for things like books or records. In return, somebody else has pointed out how rare wine would have been in Colombia, so presuming they could find a safe way to trade it, that’s probably their main export.

They probably have one of those three or four room schools. I’ve touched on this in my Bruno x Oc, but my going theory is that when the triplets are in school, each class is split up by age groups, then when the village gets too big for that to be practical, they do combo classes, 1st & 2nd grade in one class, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, then maybe even 7th & 8th. After that, things like math and science get advanced enough that kids need to learn from the one guy in the village with a hyper fixation in astronomy or something, plus teenagers would have apprenticeships to worry about. So from 14 onward, kids get assigned homework and have the option to go to the village expert on the subject if they need help. Whether or not they do that homework is largely up to them and their parents/professional mentors.

Probably don’t have cows, cows take up a lot of land and they’re in a small valley.

They grow cotton and wool, grapes for the wine, corn for corn flour, coffee, avocados and lemons. Then they cultivate fruit trees in the surrounding rain forests.

Another thing from my Bruno x Oc, before Pepa became the primary irrigation source for the farmer’s, they probably made irrigation canals and maybe a few emergency reservoirs.

It just makes sense to me that Mirabel is the next “candle holder”, but for the sake of the disability metaphor, I doubt she figures that out until she’s already overcome her feelings of inadequacy and stepped up as a village leader.

Speaking of the village leadership. For years Alma is the de facto leader, but as the village grows this becomes more and more stressful for her. After the movie, she probably starts calling for official elections and stuff. The village never stops looking to the Madrigals for leadership, but by the time Mirabel is an adult, they have a mayor, a treasurer, and a town council. Not to mention monthly town halls.

The village starts out as a straight barter system, with minimal use of money. As discussed in that video I shared, the community takes care of itself. Then as it grows, money is used for things that aren’t essential. They have a sorta Universal Basic Income, in that, as long as your family is contributing to the village, the village is contributing to you.

The miracle is technically love magic, we see that it is harmed by relationship strife and powered by hugs. So, the “candle holder” must be chosen on the basis of who in this next generation is the best at love, so to speak. Mirabel gets it for her communication skills, compassion, and patience.

This one is pure fun, no basis and only relevant for my fics. Seers in the Madrigal family all get the glowy eye thing, but the color depends on what they can see So Bruno, who sees the future, gets green glowy eyes, but if there is a seer that sees the past, their eyes would be magenta, the opposite of green.

Julieta sighed heavily as she set both Mirabel and Isabela’s food up onto the tray before placing a ceramic cover over Isabela’s to keep the heat in, given the last few meals Agustín had brought back from her room had shown very little to be touched. At least this way it would retain its heat a lot more for longer.

Now was the first time she knew she had to speak to her eldest now Mirabel was out of danger of any hidden effects that came with mechanical asphyxiation. From blood clots to fluid build-up… but she knew she should have spoken to Isabela sooner but the anger she still felt was strong at the reminder of what she had done; she didn’t want to lash out at her eldest because she didn’t want to be that type of mother. She needed to be clear-headed and she knew with what she had discussed Agustín had put together with Isabela’s punishments, she was going to be punished so it would only be more damaging to do more to Isabela by saying bitter words.

Her mother had the list now and so far, most of them had been accepted or slightly tweaked but… she felt it seemed reasonable for the meantime. Isabela needed to work through and earn their trust back. One by one, those punishments would be lifted but she’d leave that to her mother’s digression for now.

Satisfied the tray had all that she’d need, she padded up the steps but first, knocked on the nursery door before the door opened to Mirabel’s request. Inside, Mirabel herself was seated on her bed, in her new clothes still but her old was laid out on Antonio’s bed in the light of the mid-day sun.

Her old shirt couldn’t drop the stain out fully despite Pepa’s insistent washing and raining on it, the light orangey tinge wouldn’t lift entirely so there was a clear to see the natural white to the lingering off-colour. Her skirt was far easier to clean and the naturally darker material covered it up better anyway but in some lights, it was easy to see the shades differences and some residue stains were also easy to see on the threads of her embroidery.

Her new attire she had had no embroidery, her new shirt was still white, but had long sleeves to her elbows, a red trimming and no pre-made butterflies or personal touch but from the looks of the papers in front of her, Mirabel looked to be on her way to redesigning her new shirt. It made her smile sadly at that. Julieta knew Mirabel liked adding to her clothes; expanding her self-expression...it just shouldn’t have come to this.

��That looks beautiful,” Julieta complemented, “for your shirt?”

Mirabel nodded, her fingers coming to fiddle with the red trimming. “I’ll probably redo the threads with new, cleaner colours on my old skirt. I do want to keep that at least.”

“Are you sure?” There was no hiding the fact here that something had happened… of course, there were no doubt ways to explain without telling it all. She could agree with her mother that this wasn’t going to leave Casita. Encanto didn’t need to worry about the implications.

Mirabel nodded, wrinkling her nose down to the magenta skirt she was wearing, her other blue yesterday was in the wash from an accidental stain from her dinner plate slip-up last night. “These…aren’t really my colours.”

Julieta hummed though set the tray down, placing the cup of juice onto the side and the steaming plate onto the cover beside her. “Well, I’m sure whatever you do, it’ll be just as stunning.”

“Thank you.”

“How’s your breathing? No coughing?”

Mirabel shook her head and gave her a soft, exasperated look. “Ma, I’m fine.” She insisted.

“No, you’re not fine. Right now, you’re okay… but what you’ve been through, you not going bounce back with nothing. What happened will leave its mark, clear or not and it may crop up later in a way you won’t be prepared for.” The process of grief still has its hand in trauma and they had to make it through to heal. Mirabel had to but Julieta wanted her to understand; to know she didn’t have to do it alone.

Mirabel huffed put but accepted the plate and began eating nonetheless which did make her feel a little bit better to see. Mirabel’s eyes flickered to the rest of the tray with an inquisitive look.

“Who’s that for?”

“Isabela.”

Mirabel frowned though chewed much more slowly. “Is…Is she not eating with the family?” Her tone was cautious.

“No.” Julieta sighed out, “until her punishments have been decided, she’s confined to her room.”

“She shouldn’t be a prisoner, Mama.”

How she phrased that, it ached at how true it felt. But Julieta knew it was temporary until Abuela decided to let the family know about her punishments; no doubt over dinner too so everyone would be on the same page as each other about what was to be expected in handling this…transition and handling of Isabela.

Despite her fury, there was relief Encanto had no prison; no formal authority of punishment because…Isabela would be a far worse area if they had that and she doubted she could take that either. Attempted manslaughter would have been the best case, attempted murder the worst and either way; Isabela would have faced far worse punishments than what she and Agustín had put together.

Better in her room and safe for herself and others.

“She’s not a prisoner, Mira. But what she did was inexcusable.”

“But why is it only this time that it is?!” Mirabel snapped before she realised what she said, her hands slapping over her mouth with wide eyes.

“What?” Julieta’s eyes widened, “She’d done this to you before?!” She reached forwards but Mirabel pulled away sharply.

“No, no” Mirabel shook her head, slightly panicked “I mean, she’s bullied me but she’s never hurt me like this.” She clarified.

Julieta swallowed the rise of bitterness. “Bully you?”

“Minor things, Ma. Nothing of concern. My point is… Her jabs at me weren’t always private. Abuela’s never batted an eye about it. She’s never done wrong in her eyes until yesterday…” Mirabel set the plate to the side, jumped to her feet and reached for her hands. “I’ve been blamed in her place, I’ve…had comments and nothing happened… now this happens and now I’m getting the attention?”

Julieta exhaled deeply, twisting her hands around to grasp her daughter now comfortingly, rubbing her thumb over her knuckles. “Your sister will not bully you anymore, you don’t have to endure that anymore. I…I just wished you told us sooner.” Perhaps…that was part of the explanation; Isabela had gotten somewhat comfortable with that freedom of getting away with that behaviour. Julieta knew that…her mother favoured Isabela, and allowed so much to go past her too… Maybe it was time to tighten the reins; no more for Mirabel to endure.

Mirabel sighed, almost in defeat and her shoulders sagged in disappointment before she pulled her hands back to hug herself back onto the bed “I know she made a mistake… please don’t make it worse for her.”

“Our punishments are reasonable. Your father and I have discussed this at length last night.”

“Can you tell me what they are?”

Julieta shook her head sadly at her youngest. “Your Abuela’s got the final say. Dinner will no doubt be time for her announcement. Will you be okay sitting at the table with her?”

Mirabel hesitated but nodded. “Yes. Just…not next to her.”

“I know. I wouldn’t force you to. If it gets too much, you can leave the table, okay?”

“Si, Mama.”

Approaching Isabela’s door, with her tray in hand Julieta took a deep breath before gently knocking a few times. Luisa looked to be gone, no doubt for her own lunch too but she knew to expect her back soon. It ached in a way that Luisa was the one doing this; protecting her sister from her sister. It didn’t…feel right.

“Isabela.”

Julieta heard nothing of a welcome of any kind which did little in good favour, regardless she pushed the door in before her stomach clenched a little at the…sight and stench this room had.

The flowered had withered in a lot of the space, some purely wet mulch which explained the smell and she could recognise the bundle that was Isabela amongst the bed that was no longer held up by vines but sat amongst the new plants that looked to have overtaken the roses and pink with vivid flairs of flowers and colours that were…unusual; she was almost hidden.

The sight of new plants was amazing but the dead plants and the smell concerned her more as she squelched her way through, trying not to feel the rise of disgust but it was hard not to when her shoes sunk into the soggy, dead plant matter. It took a bit of time before she stepped onto normal plants and a solid surface before she got to her eldest’s bedside.

Isabela was lying face down on her bed, in an uneasy asleep from the look of it and looking to be in a somewhat pitiful state, her breathing was even but looked to be somewhat tangled with her plant leaves and pollen that decorated her hair and skin in different colours.

She had never seen Isabela look like this before and as much as Julieta should be concerned, she felt…frustrated that it was hard to hold onto her anger to see her like this.

“Isa..” Julieta spoke, her hand coming to Isa’s shoulders to shake her awake before she began to notice the soft scratches in her skin, like thorns mostly which wasn’t new for rose plants but what stood out was the dark bruise down her spine that peaked through the back of the girl’s pollen stained night dress.

Far too dark to be simply accidental injuries like she hoped the scratches were along her daughter’s hands and feet, she had taken a fall of some kind to get this. It was far too straight and angular to be self-inflicted and the place far too hard for that, so possibly an impact bruise. When did she get this?

Isabela shifted away as she brushed her hair away to get a better look though didn’t stir too much which was another concern before she decided to bite the bullet and wake the girl in case this was a serious condition. She was still Isabela’s mother, rage aside; she had to care for her like she would anyone else.

“Isa, wake up.”

Isabela groaned, burying her face into her pillow, clearly not realising who she was talking to. “Leave…me alone.” was the muffled reply.

Julieta touched along the bruise; clear that it was sensitive from how her daughter arched from her touch, her hands flapped at her to stop before Julieta reached for her tray and food and plucked off one of the warm empanadas from under the cover.

“Isa, can you eat this for me please.” She coaxed, moving around to Isabela’s other side, brushing away her hair from her face and was met with a very crabby and tried expression peeking over the edge of her pillow which did soften a little but there was no mistake of the guilt that resided in her eyes.

“I’m fine.” Isabela croaked miserably, pulling her covers back. “I don’t need that.”

“Your back said otherwise, Isa.” Julieta pointed out, trying to separate how to see this; she didn’t want Isabela to try and pull the pity card…and with what she had learned, Isabela had a lot to make up for but this wasn’t going to help her. Isabela didn’t need to endure this and call it even. Mirabel deserved a better, guiltless way of Isabela’s atonement. Julieta certainly didn’t want her daughters to think this was okay.

Isabela inhaled deeply with a wince before leaning forwards taking the empanada and retreating back to her covers. Julieta lent up, her stomach tense but there was a relief as the bruises faded away and the half-healed scratches also faded. Her hand came to her daughter’s arms, rubbing softly.

“Isa…” Julieta sucked in a heavy breath, “Please, sit up and talk to me.”

Isabela took a moment but seemed to comply after a moment, arms wrapped around her, looking at her knees than meeting her eyes; a clear indication of regret.

Julieta knew regret wasn’t going to remove the punishment, certainly not in her mother’s eyes but actions had to have consequences. Letting Isabela off for…essentially was attempted murder would also not sit well with the family. They needed to see Isabela repent and she felt…Isabela wanted that as well.

“Why didn’t you come to me sooner, Mija?” Julieta spoke tightly. “I would have listened.”

Isabela’s game remained down to her knees. “I didn’t want to upset Abuela.”

“This isn’t about your Abuela. You should have told us you weren’t happy with it… I would have handled Abuela on your behalf if you needed me to. I am your mother… I would never have forced you into marriage.” Julieta sucked in a deep breath, feeling her mood start to rise but she pushed it down. No, not yet. “You didn’t need to have hurt Mirabel.”

“I didn’t want to hurt her…” Isabela spoke quietly, “I didn’t ...I didn’t want her to run off.”

“That doesn’t make this better, Isa. It’s not okay to restrain anyone regardless of how you feel. Restraint like that…” Julieta couldn’t finish, unable to help but shake her head. “She’s terrified…I don’t know what to do now.”

Isabela shrunk down into her pillows like a child. “Papa said…she was okay.”

“Physically, yes. But what you’ve done is left mental scars. I can’t heal that.”

Isabela gulped softly. “I’m sorry.”

Julieta said nothing. She didn’t doubt her daughter’s apology but…it didn’t seem enough. She had a long way to go…before she felt ready to accept any apologies. The image of Mirabel’s bloodied clothes…on her hands as she cleaned it from her frame, the bowl that was once been clear turning red. It made her feel ill.

Julieta didn’t feel ready for that.

“Abuela’s still deciding on the punishment we’ve set for you. I believe she’ll announce over dinner with the rest of the family so they’re on the same page of what you’re expected to do.” Julieta spoke tightly, changing the topic. “You need to get yourself cleaned up ready and presentable for Abuela.”

This wasn’t a request and clearly, Isabela knew that as she clambered out of bed, arms still wrapped around herself but Julieta pushed the plate of her lunch towards her. “Eat first, then we’ll go to the bathroom.”

Given what she was seeing, it’d take a while to get her clean and presentable. Abuela certainly wouldn’t be pleased to see Isabela like this.

Isabela did feel a little better, surprisingly, after a long bath and some self-care to feel more like a human being than a plant; she had found patches of moss where it shouldn’t and it took a lot of scrubbing to get her skin smooth and silky as expected. Her back no longer ached but that was only her back, her heart still hurt but she knew to keep that under her mask. Hide the pain and present the true regret.

Mirabel was the victim here. Not her.

Her mother picked out a new, clean dress as her old one was very much…stained with dirt and pollen and other plant remnants and soon enough, Isabela looked almost as perfect as she normally did. She couldn’t shake the blue flowers from her hair so she left them before she escorted her down from her room by Luisa when dinner time came.

Her pulse picked up in her veins, and more so in the stop of conversation as they joined the dinner table though Isabela took the seat at the far end, opposite of Abuela and Luisa was on her left, her father on the right. Mirabel looked to have been seated between Abuela and their mother.

Isabela looked down to the tabletop than at her relatives, feeling the blood rise to her cheeks as the conversation didn’t really pick up again even as the food was handed out and plates filled but Isabela didn’t put much down; she doubted she could tolerate much.

She felt nauseous again.

Like she shouldn’t be down here so soon.

She could feel Camilo glaring in the corner of her eye just as much as Antonio at her mere presence and normally, Isabela wouldn’t have cared but it was Antonio’s look at her that felt the worse. Of course, he was four and Mirabel was his best friend… it was natural for him to act out towards her...hate her even for a little while.

It just wasn’t a pleasant feeling.

So Isabela remained quietly picking at her plate in small bites and mostly playing with it with her fork to look busy before Abuela found it prudent timing at dessert to finally address what was no doubt her sentence and what everyone had been waiting for.

“It’s taken a good portion of discussion between myself and your parents for the consequences of your actions, Isabela.”

Isabela set down her cutlery to listen while Camilo leant forwards instead in anticipation. Her heart felt like a drum of anxiety in her chest and she fought to keep a composed face, even as her flowers turned black with dread.

“For the next month, you’ll be confined to Casita and helping your Father and Tio Felix with Chores. After that, if you leave Casita, it will not be alone; you’ll have to ask someone to accompany you.” Abuela started, “Your gift will be confined to familia needs or your bedroom. No vines unless there is an emergency that require them. You’ll have a curfew of 8 pm, after which you stay in your room unless for bathroom breaks. I’ve already spoken to the Guzmans and have officially ended your relationship with Mariano.”

Besides Abuela, Mirabel looked downright annoyed as each punishment was relayed but shrugged at the last with a noncommittal sound of agreement.

“Until I see fit, no boys. No alcohol, your mother’s suggestion which I support.” Abuela added, which explained to Isabela why she had juice. Not that she really cared. “Now, you’re not to enter anyone’s rooms, nursery included and you’re not to be left alone with Mirabel or to seek her out. No one is also to enter Isabela’s room either, aside from an adult.”

“Okay, this is a bit much!” Mirabel remarked, looking unable to hold herself back “Look don’t get me wrong, most of those are reasonable but…you shouldn’t restrict her gift or give her a freaking curfew! She’s not a child!”

“Mirabel, it’s either those punishments or complete confinement to Casita or her room until she’s proven she’s got control of her emotions and gift. You of all people should be supportive of these.”

“Look, she lashed out in a panic and anger because in all honestly, I was about to betray her trust about a personal matter. I…can forgive her actions but there’s no need to drag her through all of that when it’s very apparent she does regret her actions.”

Isabela’s heart pulled at Mirabel’s defence of her…even after everything.

“Really?” Camilo pressed, “I mean, I haven’t heard her apologise so I’m not a firm believer here.”

Mirabel turned and gave him a firm look, “She doesn’t need to apologise to you. I haven’t seen her since the incident so she couldn’t. Don’t instigate a forced apology now, Camilo.”

“It’s quite alright,” Isabela spoke up tightly, her voice polite and calm despite the storm in her head roaring, soaking in her punishments. “I am sorry for my actions and for what I did to you, Mirabel. But these punishments aren’t as simple as it affects the family reputation, not just you which is why Abuela’s so insistent on the…vast scope. The ending of my relationship with Mariano and absence from my town work will draw difficult questions for starters.”

Mirabel scowled a little at the last bit but Isabela knew she had her there. For now. She didn’t want to hear any more of her jumping to her defence either; she didn’t deserve that… she deserved the punishments after all.

Isabela didn’t eat touch dessert, wanting nothing more than to jump up and flee to the sanctity of her room; to be away from this. She forced herself to stay; to help in cleaning up and didn’t remember much until her head came to her pillow, a small cactus popping up behind her bed.

She would be okay. She had to be, or at least…had to pretend to be. She was the bad guy after all.

She deserved this.

Free Comic Book Day is rapidly approaching, marking a time of year when comic book fans come out in droves to support their local shops.

There’s been some form of a Free Comic Book Day every year since 2002, with comic shops and comic pros coming together to make it an event that includes signings, contests, and more.

A lot of that success is thanks to the involvement of the publishers, who offer up some of their biggest titles. FCBD is now where the biggest storylines and newest titles are teased first, meaning this is the go-to event if you’re looking forward to 2024’s biggest stories.

What is Free Comic Book Day?

Always held the first Saturday in May, Free Comic Book Day is an annual event where retailers offer up free comics as promotional items. The event tends to be fairly massive, even more so than events like Batman Day.

The first Free Comic Book Day took place in 2002, organized by comic shop owner Joe Field and Image Comics co-founder Jim Valentino. The original event was scheduled to coincide with the release of Spider-Man as a means of capitalizing on the positive interest in comics being generated by a new wave of successful comic book movies, like X-Men and Blade.

Ultimate Spider-Man takes center stage for Marvel’s FCBD 2024 offerings.

The original release date stuck as a tradition, with every FCBD taking place the first Saturday in May (the lone exception being 2004’s event, which was shuffled to July to the release of Spider-Man 2).

The comics themselves are free, but retailers do still pay for them, albeit at a heavily discounted rate, with publishers covering the production cost of the comics. As such, many fans consider it good etiquette to support your local store by buying a few comics while you’re there for the freebies.

I would like to clarify on something I've seen the people have said a lot since The Sea Beast came out: the characters we see in the movie aren't pirates.

Why? Well, because pirates were people who stole property from other ships on the sea. There's no evidence in the movie that stated the crew of the Inevitable took away the richness of other nations. Not even in the name of the King and Queen as the corsaires did in their times.

The crew is completely a group of sea monster hunters sponsored by the Empire, they don't steal anything and aren't chased by any law.

I don't know if you like to call them pirates just because they behave like that, still, they're just common sailors and I don't see the point of calling them otherwise.

You can congratulate me if you want, but just to be clear, here in México there's not such a thing like a mexican party for Cinco de Mayo. Of course, we have the day off, there are some commemorations in schools and the representation of the Battle in Puebla, but that's all. So no, I don't celebrate it and I don't consider it as the National Mexican Day. Wait four months later for September 15 and 16 to arrive and then we'll be talking.

I have something to tell to the people throwing soup at protection glasses of paintings

First of, why do you attempt against art? Do you really think it's useless and doesn't make any difference? Do you have any idea of how much it costed materially, physically and psycologically to the artists, principally Monet and Van Gogh? For these artists, their artworks were literally their lives. If it wasn't about how art made them feel alive by expressing their most profound feelings, was about how with art, they literally won their daily bread. It was their salary. Art meant so much for them as a way to send a message, to open up minds and challenge an elitist society that found impressionism worthless. They were outcasts.

Mainly for Van Gogh, life was rough. He couldn't even afford food, he only sold one (1) of his many paintings while he was alive, and he had way worse phsycological problems that you could ever imagine to the point he had to be half of his life on a mental hospital. But art held him on the worst times, gave him courage to go on. Even more, he tried anything before art to please his parents, to feel worthy, to make him feel useful, but nothing except art made him feel like he was doing something self satisfactory. Art doesn't have more worth than life, but life without art is meaningless. Art is nothing more than the incarnated manifestation of life experiences.Twelve Sunflowers in a Vase isn't but part of a collection that Van Gogh painted to show how much life was worth living for because society wasn't paying attention to little details that form part of our daily lives and make life beautiful. He was a social activist, and it can be seen that portrayed in many of his paintings. That painting you're attempting to, is the ancestor of the camera your pal was holding. Art makes more concience than soup spilled on a canvas.

Your points are very valid, and I agree with you. The World is at war, hunger and poverty is everywhere and we're on a climate World change crisis. Even more, it's outrageously immoral the prices that these paintings cost today. I think it would be better that these museums were open to the public in general but in the end, there is maintenance staff that live from the salary that the money won generates. But how do you expect to end worldwide hunger when you're wasting food on a multimillion dollar painting? Why do you brag of being against oil when you dye your hair with chemicals and use new printed shirts made out of this oil? How much did it cost the ticket to enter these museums? Why don't you spend that money donating to organizations that urgently need it? If the cans of soup you're throwing at paintings were better donated to home shelters or feeding organizations, people would stop starving. If you're against something, reduce, don't waste, be congruent.

There are other things you can do to stop these problems. There's a peaceful economic sabotage that you can do, way more effective than you think:

Stop buying oil based products like plastic, hair dye, cosmetics, clothing. Go for naturally made things, for artisan made things. You can buy clothing on second hand stores, and you'll reduce the massive clothing production that wastes an amount of water litters and contaminates air, ground and water.

Buy to local sellers. Many products are transported by vehicles like cars, airplanes and ships that use oil fuel and generates high amount of co2. The closer you buy, the better you're helping to reduce oil use. Also, go for public transportation or, if your destination is near, you can walk or use other transportation like bicycles.

Reduce your electricity use and the time you spend online. In the present, the majority of electricity is powered by oil based power centers, and all of Internet data is stored on centers that have to be cooled down by electricity so, the less you stay on social media, the more you will prevent the massive production of unnecessary electricity.

Donate money if you can to organizations that search for other electricity generators that are eco-friendly. Donate old clothing to people that need it, and consume food responsibly so you don't leave leftovers. The food that you get left can be donated as well.

Stop blaming art, and start looking to what artists of the past have to tell you and teach you through their paintings instead. Art is World Culture Patrimony. Start living responsibly and take real action, change your lifestyle, and you'll see how change starts becoming true. If no one uses oil, governments will stop producing it.

2.0 Art and Bee

.00 Who are you even?

I am a very short girl, who enjoys drawing fandoms such as Harry Potter and The Legend of Zelda. As of now, I am 26 years old, and I work as a freelance artist and ESL teacher. I LOVE peach tea.

.01 Did you go to art school?

No. I am self-taught. I actually have masters in chemistry. I dropped out of my Chemistry PhD in my first year because I realised that science is not something I want to pursue in my life. I do not regret studying chemistry though - it was a very interesting and valuable experience. Would I have the chance to choose now though, I’d go study degree in Illustration.

.02 Who are your favourite artists?

Here are some that I often turn to for inspiration:

Mimimaru, Heikala, Mateusz Urbanowicz, Ladowska, Mehkuni, Devin Elle Kurtz, Marc Brunet and many others.

.03 How do you motivate yourself to draw every day?

I really make sure I draw what I enjoy. There are days I wake up and I do not feel like picking up my pen. When this happens, it is about time to turn back to studying. I go to my Morpho books, youtube tutorials and my favourite artists and I dedicate the day to anatomy studies, colour theory etc. That way I do feel accomplished although no illustration is done in the process.

.04 How to get out of art block?

Take a break. No seriously. If art frustrates you, it is time to put it down and take-a-well-deserved-break. I hit the wall 2-3 a year and usually, it comes after a big project or when I refuse to pace myself.

This relates to the previous questions, but when a time like this hits, I often restrict myself to no art for up to 3-5 days. Instead, I go back to passive studying - watching tutorials, watching an animated film, reading some books, playing video games for inspiration.

Sometimes it also helps to switch a medium. So for example I go from digital to traditional.

.05 What is you digital art process like?

I start with light gesture drawings followed by detailed soft lineart. Then I shade in black and white. When this is done, I turn the black and white sketch to red (using curves) and with multiply layers, I block in the basic colours. Then I create a normal layers and I begin to paint in all other details. I often finish the background first before I move on to the characters.

.06 Why don’t you do traditional anymore?

In 2020 I had to move to my parent’s house for 4 months while I was recovering from an illness. I had to leave all my traditional media in my flat in a completely different country. I only had my old iPad with me, which was the only way I could do art. I have been drawing digitally on my iPad since.

Once in a while, I still use the good old pencil and paper, but I found that digital painting gives me great creative freedom and helps me to visualise my light-up fantasy brain cells. hahaha

In general - I just enjoy digital painting more at the moment.

I still do oil painting once in a while tho!

Now - please read this carefully.

I ONLY allow use of my art in fanfiction bookbinding if it’s a NON-PROFIT bind (ie only cost of materials is paid for). Please DO message me in dms (ig, twitter, tumblr) if you want to use my art in your binds. The chances are most likely I will say yes and be very excited to see the outcome!!!

.01 Are you available for commissions?

.02 Why are your commissions so expensive?

I only charge for labour and the time spent on the commission. For a full-illustrated type of commission, I can spend up to 30 hours working on it, hence the high price.

.03 How long will your commission take?

I ask for my customers to count with 2-4 weeks from the date the payment is received. This is because often I have a couple of projects before I commence on your commission. I also count in any unexpected events such as an illness, my teaching job hurdles, art block, and inspiration dips.

.04 What you will/will not draw for me?

Will do: humans (fanart, OCs, irl), pfp’s, larger illustrations, and character designs

Will NOT do: nsfw, fetishes, gore, mecha, furry, animals/pets, hateful art, ships I am not comfy with

We’re Powerful Too!

Pairing: Camilo Madrigal X Female Reader

`Type: Fluff

Any Abbreviations: L/N= Last Name Y/C= Your country

Summary: The Madrigals aren’t the only magical family. The (L/N) family moves to Encanto once they get found out by animal friends of Antonio, the madrigals go to check this family out. Although Camilo was excited to hear that there are others like them and their family he didn’t expect what to come.

AN: I haven’t watched the movie yet and I’m dying :( but I hope you enjoy!! Not proofread yet so there may be errors

The L/N Family:

The (L/N) family were a mix of different abilities, ranging from telekinesis to making people dance with just a hum. The family had moved from (Y/C) because the area was becoming unsafe for the family to stick around. Once they got to Encanto they built the new house little ways away from the town for some privacy. Your grandpa holds his hand out and the formation of the house starts to unfold and come to life. You are always amazed by this anytime your family moved. Once the house is all finished being set up, the windows and doors swing open as if the house was stretching. You smile and help your family bring each other stuff inside the house and into the respective rooms they belonged in. Apparently while the house was being put together by magic and group of fishermen saw this transformation in awe and immediately ran back home to tell the town of their findings.

The Madrigals:

The fishermen run straight towards the Madrigal household all the while shouting about “There’s others who have special gifts!” That peaked other towns peoples attention and thus a crowd followed these men all the way to la casita. Alma heard the commotion and walked out the doors that had opened at her confrontation. She sees that almost all townspeople are standing there listening to the fishermen talk about what they saw. Once people notice that the founder of the town was watching the crowd they all went silent including the main fishermen who was going on and on about the new magical family. The rest of the Madrigal family files in behind Alma confused.

“What is this about?” Alma raises her eyebrow

“The fishermen saw magic on the outskirts of the town” says a random while the fishermen nod. The Madrigals look at each other questionably. How is that possible? They were the only ones with magic... or at least they thought so.

“What did you see exactly” Alma asks suspiciously

“The-they were building a house!” stammered the main fishermen

“They?” whispered Mirabel. Alma furrows her eyebrows,

“How many people were there?”

“I-I don’t know maybe 15 people”

Alma look at her people “Don’t worry we’ll figure this out” Everyone feels reassured and continues on with their days but continue whispering about this new find which Dolores heard all. Alma turns back to her family and walks inside to La Casita, doors closing shut. They all stand there until...

“We should go check it out!” Camilo pipes. Pepa lightly taps their head and nods disapprovingly. He pouts and looks away. Alma looks around before sighing

“He’s right, we must go see what this is about. It could be a threat to this town.” Camilo looks at his mother with a playful smug looks while she rolls her eyes and smiles. “We will go tomorrow morning and pay them a visit.” Everyone nods and continues on. Camilo was excited. Were there any shapeshifters also?All he could do was wonder for the rest of the day while helping others out.

The L/N Family:

“Alright all that’s left is the courtyard furniture and food...” said your uncle who stares at the heavy furniture. You and your cousins separate who’s doing what. You and your cousin Aria are assigned with buying the groceries. You had the gift to control the wind and earth. While Aria could control fire and water a very dangerous combination if you asked me. You both get materials needed to carry said grocery along with a long list... You both groan while your mother hurries the two of you off. You grab a hold of Aria and shoot off the ground flying toward the town but stopping a little ways a way to not get caught. Which clearly failed because you guys were found out a day before.

The Madrigals:

While you and Aria were shopping the madrigals were trudging to your family’s home. “Mama I’m tired” Antonio says tugging on his mothers skirt. She sighs and goes to pick him up but Camilo quickly swoops in and helps their mother out. She smiles thankful and watches the two laugh as Camilo carries him on his shoulders. They quickly get there was see this huge house similar to La Casita. On the front of the house there’s words that Alma has to squint to read

“The (L/N) Home hm?” They look around for any sign of anybody. There seems to be some furniture. Then 3 little kids come bursting out of the bushes giggling and chasing each other while 2 women follow after them talking to each other. They stop once they notice a group of people awkwardly watching them.

“Hi can we help you?” one of the women say. Abuela nods and gently smiles

“Yes, we heard there was a family here?” the women look at each other nervous and nod and just on cue 2 men walk about sweating from carrying furniture.

“A-Ah George can you come help our guests?” the other women asks for her husbands help as she sees one of her children get hurt and starts crying. She scurries over and takes care of them. The men stop what they’re doing and welcomes the Madrigal family inside. A couple teens are laughing seeming to be taking a break. Felix elbows Camilo as if saying ‘look new friends’. Camilo shakes their head and looks around. It’s almost similar to their home but not quite.

The L/N Family:

“We are the (L/N) Family! My father has led our family since me and my siblings birth!” Says George. Everyone in that room introduces themselves and same for the Madrigal family.

“We are missing 2 of our members right now.” says your father. Alma looks questionably.

“My daughter Y/N and my niece Aria” they all nod. Then Luisa confidently says “Need any help with the furniture?” George’s eyes sparkle “Yes please!” thus it turns into the Madrigals helping the new family move in. A little bit later the wind starts to pick up and the Madrigal family looks at Pepa but she seems perfectly fine. The wind gets so wild it seems as if there were a tornado outside then a voice calls out

“A little help here!” Everyone walks about and see nobody

“Up here!” then they see 2 teen girls around 15/16 with basket loads of food.

Y/N:

“A-ah Y/n, Aria please get down here!” You both look at each other with wide eyes. Did people see you two fly? Whatever. Suddenly several pieces of ground broke away from the earth and formed some sort of stair case and returned back one you two were down walking down. It was all silent until Maribel says

“So it’s true you guys do have gifts!” Your family looks at each other assuming she’s talking about your powers and you all nod as a collective.

You look at the Madrigals but one catches your eyes. He had a yellow ruana on. He was staring at you as well. You quickly look away and help your cousin put away the groceries. In the kitchen away from attention and everyone flaunting their gifts/powers. You could take a breather. People like you. You were so deep in thought that you didn’t hear someone new walk into the kitchen and get close to you. You suddenly turn to grab the cheese and get shocked by the boy you were having a staring contest with earlier. He seems shocked also but it quickly change to a smug look and he hands you the cheese.

“Thank you” you quickly put it in it’s designated spot and move on to the next item. It got so quiet you had thought he had left but nope instead he starts helping you unpack. You both work silently only occasionally asking where one and another put something so things can be in their respective places.

Camilo:

When we went outside and were told to look I swore I saw the most beautiful girl. She was in the air? Then the earth moved for her like it worshiped her. She looked like a goddess. I think my mouth was open because Dolores gave me a knowing look as if she could hear my heart beating out of my chest. Her name is Y/N? what a beautiful name. She disappears. I of course go looking for her and find her in the kitchen putting the groceries away. She looked so peaceful. I walk up beside and watch her work it isn’t until she accidentally grabs my hand instead of the cheese we both get shocked. I smirk and hand her the cheese and she thanks me. I start helping her and talking to her from time to time. This can be something more, I think as we continue talking to each other.
