Rewatching “Philosophers Stone” tonight and I am still mad, and will always be mad, at Dumbledore pulling a last minute reverse uno on an entire house!

What in the name of Merlin made him (and all but one of the adults ) think it was alright to let Slytherin think they’d won the House Cup, that they had the most points, their colours and pennants were up, the points were read…and then Dumbledore was like “Yeah, nah, I’m gonna award a bunch of carefully calculated points so that my favourites win instead.”

Where does he get off publicly humiliating, misleading and disappointing a hundred children like that?

What also gets me, Sev’s reaction when Dumbledore started talking again

He’s been through this before, he knows where Dumbledore’s favouritism lies, whenever it’s something between Slytherin and Gryffindor, Dumbledore will always side with the Lions. And Sev can’t do anything about it.

Severus Snape as a parent headcanons

At first, he was terrified, worried, and panicking due to his past with his parents and was afraid he would hurt his own child like his dad did to him or neglect them like his mother (unintentionally).

As soon as he saw his child, he fell completely in love. He was still scared, but all he wanted to do in that moment was protect and love them until his last breathe

He made a vow that he would be better than his own father and try to give his child everything he never had.

He would prepare for every possible scenario (fevers, teething, diseases, baby proofing, medicine, etc)

He would expel any and every sign of alcohol (except if it's for disinfecting) from his home

He would buy the child bunches of toys since he never had any growing up.

He would've had an endless supply of diapers when the child was a baby (I do mean ENDLESS)

The people in Severus's life who know about his child are the Malfoys, Charity, and her wife Aurora (they are married) and Minerva McGonagall (who would tell Dumbledore so he knows as well)

The child would have black hair, black eyes, and pale skin like Severus. Their nose is smaller than Severus's nose which he is grateful for.

As soon as everyone saw the child, they immediately fell in love.

I think Severus would name Narcissa and Lucius as godparents (mostly because Narcissa kept pestering Severus about it and she would use the godfather card), and they spoil the child rotten along with Aurora and Charity

Minerva loves the child and helps Severus out when she can. She also becomes a grandmother figure and a mother figure to Severus and the child

Severus makes sure the child is not spoiled a lot by the Malfoys, so the child won't be a spoiled brat.

Severus is very overprotective and always keeps an eye on them. He constantly worries about them and is always vigilante of his surroundings, especially with his child

He educates them about both the wizarding world and the muggle world.

He cooks for them, he's a master chef.

He also teaches them potions

He teaches them about gardening and uses his magic to entertain them sometimes (he loves seeing his child smile)

He takes them to the park and they have fun.

He plays with them and sets up play dates with his child and Draco along with Aurora and Charity's child.

Minerva loves babysitting the child, and both she and severus make sure the child is ahead of their studies and not slacking

The child is either in Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

Severus always keeps the dark wizards away from his family with the Malfoys help of course.

When the child first did accidental magic, they made flowers grow from their hands and hair and made things levitate.

The child would be just as protective of their dad as Severus is of his child.

Draco and Severus's child are practically siblings

I feel like Regulus would be afraid of the child, but shortly after, fall in love with them (similar to Draco)

Narcissa treats Severus's child as her own along with Lucius.

Severus is strict, but he is reasonable with his child.

He also taught them how to dance along with Draco and Charity and Aurora's child.

He does not trust Bellatrix to be alone with his child

If he adopted Harry, his child and Harry would be siblings as well.

If Tobias was still alive at this time. Severus is keeping his child FAR AWAY FROM THAT MAN (HE HAS NO RIGHT TO COME ANYWHERE NEAR HIS CHILD)

Severus moved away from Cokeworth with Lucius, Narcissa, Charity, Aurora, and McGonagalls help, and he lives in a small flat with enough room for him and his child

I feel like he would have the child before the death eaters, but that's just me. I also feel like he would want to change his last name to his mother's maiden name or whoever the mother of the child's name is because of Tobias

What about you guys? Do you think he would've had a child before or after he became a death eater? What would happen if he saw Lily at the park or on the street with Harry? Would this be before or after Voldemort died? What happens if he sees one of the marauders with his child? Would he be teaching?

Harry dealing with abuse trauma/people finding out about Dursley’s treatment

Ok so I didn’t know exactly how to word this particular genre of Harry Potter fanfiction, but I have been reading some fanfics where either the teachers, Sirius or the golden trio find out that Harry has been abused by the Dursley’s and how Harry deals or heals from that trauma. #cupboardreveal

Expecto Patronum - The Patronus Charm is a powerful projection of hope and happiness that drives away Dementors

A part of Remus knew it had been a bad idea, but that part had been drowning for the past hours in the alcohol, the hate for all the Christmas decorations everywhere, the cold, the ache of the second full moon the wolf spent desperately howling for his friends, only to tear himself apart when they failed to show up.

So that part was pretty quiet when he stopped in front of the tombstone, shivering from the cold.

“Hey Lils. Hey Prongs,” he slurred, raising the half-empty bottle to his friends’ names. “Merry Christmas.”

He took a swig and swayed on his feet. The cold was getting worse, but he didn’t care. After all, he had lost everything he had ever cared for. Maybe he could just lie down by Lily and James and fall asleep there and never wake up. He started shivering, and a movement in the corner of his eye made him turn around.

“Fuck,” he groaned.

Not far from him, a hooded figure was hovering by a tombstone rapidly covering in frost. He should have thought about that, really. The Wizarding World was still in such turmoil it was only logical a place so important like Lily and James’s tomb in Godric’s Hollow would be guarded by one of the Dementors Azkaban could spare. Even their son, wherever he was, must have some around.

“They’re my friends,” Remus whispered, his teeth chattering.

The Dementor glided forward and Remus stumbled back as the cold seeped into his bones and distant voices exploded in his head.

“Remus… Something awful has happened…”

The bottle fell from his hand.

“It’s not possible… Sirius wouldn’t…”

“I guess he lived up to his family name after all. I’m sorry Remus, I should have seen it coming.”

He knocked his back into James and Lily’s tombstone. The Dementor crept closer.

“Pete knew he couldn’t beat Sirius in a duel, it doesn’t make sense he went after him!”

“Grief makes us all act in ways we wouldn’t normally, Remus.”

He fumbled in his pocket, searching for his wand.

“I know I’m not his godfather or anything, but can I at least see him? For his parents’ sake.”

“He’ll be safer with his blood family, believe me. Pick up the pieces, Remus. Learn how to move on.”

Remus brandished his wand. He knew the spell and he knew he had been able to cast a fully-fledged Patronus, who ironically was in the shape of a wolf. But all that had been before. His hand trembled.

“I don’t even know if I have anything left you can take,” he whispered.

The Dementor didn’t stop advancing. If Remus was being honest with himself, it didn’t make sense. Dementors were guards, they had no business attacking someone who wasn’t doing any harm, but maybe it didn’t matter. It wouldn’t be worse than what he had lived through in the last weeks. Maybe it would even be better.

But as the Dementor glided even closer, the wolf reared up his head somewhere inside him, survival instinct kicking in. Images flooded Remus’s mind, of the Forbidden Forest and his friends galloping by his side, of the same friends by his bed when he woke up in the Hospital Wing, of smiles, and laughter, and hand holding and warmth, so much warmth…

“EXPECTO PATRONUM!”

He braced himself against the tombstone while the silver form leaped out of his wand and chased the Dementor across the graveyard until it disappeared somewhere. Remus exhaled. Apparently, he wouldn’t die that day. He looked up to his Patronus as it padded back to him and froze.

“No…” he breathed. “Please, no…”

He had read about what shock and grief could do to the spell, but nothing in those books had mentioned cruelty.

“No…” he repeated, his eyes filling with tears.

He let himself slide to the ground, his back pressed against the cold marble of his best friends’ tombstone. In front of him, glittering with the silver light of the spell, Padfoot wagged his tail.

Sirius is given one mercy before he’s locked away; he may send one letter to any person of his choosing, though the contents will be reviewed by a trusted personnel before it is sent.

Dumbledore manages to coerce his way into getting his hands on the letter so that he may be the one to review the contents. He stashes it away in his office, does not send it, for it would ruin his plans. He could not have anyone know of Sirius’ innocence, not at any cost, or else Harry might end up with his true godparent rather than his planned caretakers.

About 15 years later, Sirius is dead, and Dumbledore is too. Before the Death Eaters take over Hogwarts, McGonagall goes through Dumbledore’s possessions, and she finds a letter addressed to Remus Lupin buried at the very bottom of a well-concealed drawer. She delivers it to its originally intended recipient without asking questions or checking the letter’s contents; it’s none of her business.

Remus is confused. Because this letter that had been found in Dumbledore’s office claims to be written by Sirius; no, it was definitely written by Sirius. Remus could recognise it by the handwriting alone. But why did Dumbledore have it? When was it even from?

The letter stumbles through a brief apology for untold secrets, begging Remus to come see Sirius in Azkaban, to come visit him urgently, and he would explain everything that he couldn’t say in the letter. I need you to trust me just one more time, it reads. Please believe in me enough to know that I would never do this, not to James, not to Lily or Harry. Not to you. There’s so much you don’t know.

I don’t care about being proven innocent or if I have to spend the rest of my life here, it continues. I just need you to know the truth. I need to know you’ll still love me. Just please come see me, please.

Either way, look after little prongs, please. I love you both so much more than I know how to say.

WHY DOES EVERYONE TAKE DUMBLEDORE'S WORD ON THE TOPIC OF VOLDEMORT'S PARENTS????

Was he there? No

Has he ever met them? No

Did he have enough evidence from ANY source to say "yes she definitely, a hundred percent fed him a love potion"? Hell no

All that Dumbledore has are his own theories, which don't have to be true

Also as far as I know most love potions use pearl dust, which is pretty expensive and I bet it isn't the only rare/pricy ingredient

Did the gnaut family looked rich to anyone? That was not the impression that I got from reading the books

Also "she was not brave like your mother was" or something like that said by Dumbledore

As if dying by childbirth after struggling on the streets of London for months (Merope) and being murdered trying to protect your child in your own house (Lily) was the exact same situation

"riddle senior was saying that she bewitched him" that could mean a lot of things coming from a muggle

1) she could have shown him magic and he freaked out

2) he could have used it as an excuse once he started falling out of love with her/once he wanted to go back to his old cushy life

3) something entirely else idk, they could've not even known that she was pregnant when he left

What mainly pisses me off is that fandom just treats Dumbledore's ASSUMPTIONS and treats them as the ultimate truth, when no one really knows the story except those two
