Realism was added to a disaster rehearsal at the Brewster Aeronautical Corp. in Long Island City, when the "injured" were given first aid, February 28, 1943. Leah Oginsky, one of the supposed victims, after being treated for injuries and shock, is taken to a Red Cross desk hurriedly set up after the "all clear" signal had been given.

The “What if Dooku Trains Obi-Wan instead of Qui-Gon AU” is genuinely precious to me and I think they would thrive.
Still, can you imagine how much initial adjustment it take be for Obi-Wan “Qui-Gon Isn’t Following The Rules and It’s Giving Me a Stomach Ache” Kenobi to be trained by the guy Qui-Gon learned that from?
A typical Master Dooku mission canon example from Dooku: Jedi Lost
Dooku: the mission is called Space Nascar and we have to do a shot everytime someone pisses me off
Dooku: see the Council assigns me these sorts of elbow-rubbing rich people event missions because of my “good” “stable” personality
Dooku: for example I’ve almost gotten in two separate fights and we’ve been here five minutes
Dooku: Now let’s go steal a speeder, I just Force-threw a cop
Qui-Gon is rattled by this. QUI-GON JINN.
On the other hand, Obi-Wan’s existing partnerships prove he’s able to thrive under chaos. Dooku, for all his faults, seems to have the singular ability as a Master to produce incredibly self-confident students. He’s repeatedly established as someone who genuinely loves teaching and is a natural at it, who is at their best when part of a Master Padawan partnership - which seemed to be a struggle for Qui-Gon. Ultimately he and Obi-Wan built a loving, successful partnership, but in every timeline it seems to have been initially rocky and took years to flourish. The difference in Obi-Wan having a Master who is tremendously engaged and invested in him from the get-go, but also deeply chaotic?
Makashi Chaos Monster Obi-Wan. Oh no, he’s a duelist just like his dad and bitchier than ever! The part of him that is inclined to say things like “Sith Lords are our Specialty” is given room to grow and thrive. His monologues increase tenfold and he has a lightsaber form where they’re built right in. The quips! The amount of leaving a conversation that’s going badly by jumping out a window (pulling a Dooku)!

My highlights from The Assembly:
Was John Taylor from Duran Duran your first ever crush? “Yes, he absolutely was.” Michael thought he was the most beautiful person he’d ever seen, man or woman. And he tried to imitate his hairdo (didn’t work out though, because Michael’s hair is really curly and John’s is straight).
He’s not brave enough to go on Strictly because he thinks he’s not a good dancer.
How does it feel to be dating someone that is only 5 years older than your daughter? “Both of us were quite surprised when we got together, it wasn’t something we were looking for. I haven’t dated anyone who is much younger than me but you meet who you meet. We were both very aware how people might respond, and that it would be difficult and challenging, but ultimately we felt that it was worth it, because of how we felt about each other. And now we have two beautiful children together. We’re really, really happy. I am aware that I am a much older father, and it does worry me, and makes me concerned, and makes me sad thinking about the time that I won’t have with them. But if you find someone who brings you happiness and you make them happy you gotta go for that. So that’s what we decided to do, and I’m so happy we did because we have this wonderful family now.”
The next question (asked by the same girl) was: Who is the rudest celebrity? “Have you heard of a man called David Tennant? He was Doctor Who. Doctor rude! No he’s very nice. Someone will occur to me and I’ll let you know. (pause) Jennifer Laurence was very cheeky! She is very cheeky.”
How tall are you? “I’d like to be 5”11 but I’m closer to 5”10.”
He likes Dylan Thomas, even though he doesn’t understand all of his poetry.
He cries probably every day. And it’s totally fine to feel things deeply and get emotional about things.
His favourite Disney film is Moana. And that’s Mabli’s favourite movie at the moment, too. She watches it about twice a day.
He’s worried that AI will take his job away, and that it will change everything, not just actors and writers. And that by the time we will want to put a stop to certain things it’ll be too late.
His favourite food is Egg and chips. Only enhanced by ham.
He loves going by train.
If he could replace 2 people of the royal family he’d take away Andrew & Camilla and replace them with Joe Lycett & David Attenborough. Or Tom Jones as the Prince of Wales!
If he could play the Doctor or the Master, he’d like to play the Master and play opposite David Tennant as the Doctor.
His biggest fear is being alone. And it’s also what he worries about the most for other people.
Hot or cold? He does like winter and snow. ❄️
Walk us through the before, during and after of the kiss with David Tennant: reading the script he thought “that’s gonna be a big deal”. They didn’t really talk about it and just went for it. Everyone was quite moved by the scene, all the people around them, so they knew it had gone quite well. And now they never talk about it. (He said that last bit with a smile.)

I can’t get over the thought of Fae!Ghost carrying the baby and calling her cabbage as a term of affection🥺🥺🥺
The way I think Ghost generally is such a girl dad, like he just has the vibe. I can't explain it. He would love a daughter so much and I can't believe that I'm going along with this dubiously Canon garden baby.
She has the tiniest little fingers Simon's ever seen. The sweetest little pink lips, and scrunchy nose when she yawns and cuddles close against his chest. He could stare at her for ages and never get tired of it.
"She has your nose," he says, soft and low, fingers tracing the lines of the baby's cheek, the folds of its ear, "clingy like you too."
"You can spare her a compliment," you smile, resting your head against his shoulder to look down at where your little seedling is nestled in the crook of his arm.
"Those are compliments," Simon huffs. He likes you clingy, loves every piece of you including this tiny big surprise. You reach to adjust the makeshift onesie, fingers delicate as you take her little hand between your fingers. He's never seen you so gentle with anything.
"She's really ours," its half a question, you almost sound like you don't believe it. Simon understands the sentiment. Nothing this delicate, nothing this needy and perfect, should ever have come from anything he did. "God she's really ours." You choke, your absolute and overwhelming joy lighting up gold in his chest. Simon turns his head to kiss your temple, feeling the wetness of your tears through the fabric of his shirt. The feeling is mutual.
"You hold her," he coaxes gently, you sob around a smile and nod as he transfers the newborn to your arms. You look so sweetly down at her, eyes still brimming with unshed tears, Simon can't help pulling you into his lap. His big arms wrapping around you to hold you close against his chest, chin resting on your shoulder to keep an eye on the slumbering infant. "Little cabbage needs a name," he smiles feeling your shoulders shake with repressed laughter.
"The cabbage needs a lot of stuff, let's start with diapers and formula before we get to the big shit."
"Lets watch the fucking language in front of the baby." That gets an actual laugh from you, water and pure.
"We're going to be such awful parents." You tell him, cuddling closer, and Simon thinks his heart might squeeze just a bit too tight. Something about the way you sigh and relax against him, the way you hold his child, his child. Both of you safe and his in his arms.
He doesn't stop purring for hours.

Currently fixated on the mental image of Dream trying to help Nightmare find a suitor/partner/whatever (maybe they're royalty or something idk), and Nightmare's super stubborn the entire time
Dream's trying to help him find someone who can match his strength and personality, and it's not working. Nightmare's aware that he could have practically anyone he wants, he just doesn't care. He refuses each person that Dream suggests, and Dream starts getting frustrated
Cross shows up on Nightmare's doorstep because he needs a place to stay. He's in rough shape, he has no money on him, he's clearly seen better days. Dream, against Nightmare's wishes, lets Cross stay in the castle, trying to be nice. He then continues to struggle with getting Nightmare to accept any suggested partners. Cross gets bored after a while and orders pizza (Dream told him to get whatever he wants when he's ready to eat)
When it's dropped off, the delivery guy tells Cross to enjoy his food. Cross, being the disaster he is, says "Thanks, you too." Realizing his mistake, he starts to feel anxious and turns into even more of a disaster. Nightmare senses it from all the way across the castle, and spontaneously decides, "That one. I want that one."

The East Palestine Ohio train derailment affects a broad area and will affect an even wider area as poisons spread down the Ohio River.
Not only is East Palestine not safe, with reports of continuing animal death & streams full of dead fish, with wind spread there’’s probably a solid 50 mile range that’s in danger from things like toxic fumes and highly acidic rain. Previous cases of exposure have included not only lung damage but also cancers and nerve damage.
Evacuate and do not return if you can if you live even remotely close (which a lot of poor and particularly poor disabled people may not be able to do), do not drink or bathe in the water, do not consume crops or let your animals consume grass/water/etc. that has been exposed. The ground, water, and air are all dangerously contaminated. HEPA filters and N95s block some dangerous particles but not the main ones in this case (still, use them if you have them, they’re better than nothing but not truly effective in this case, they are extremely effective against covid 19 too so that’s a bonus).
Things that will not help keep you from being poisoned but you should also do: Document all medical problems or symptoms that appear, and get doctors to explain in writing in their reports if possible. Keep receipts/documentation of money owed/paid for any medical care you get or any vet care. Take photographs and records of livestock deaths or now unusable crops. Document if you had visitors. Again, none of this will make you any less endangered, but they will make it way easier to sue later. A lawsuit won’t cure your cancer but it can pay for your treatments.

Angsty story idea I just had:
Wild is feeling homesick for the home he had before the calamity and before he drew the Master Sword. All the other Links have their places of origin and he wants to know his own. He asks Flora but she doesn’t know where his home was. She only knew him at the castle. He prays to Hylia to show him his home.
Later, the Chain's in his Hyrule and they’re riding horses somewhere and Wild sees a ruined house out in the wilderness surrounded by blue nightshade (which is the symbolic flower of BotW/TotK Link). He realizes that this is his home and he ends up having a long memory of some of his life as a child living there.
He then finds something from that old time like a buried chest of valuables his family buried before the Calamity for safekeeping.
#based on my headcanon that Wild's house isn't the Hateno house or a house in castletown or in the military training camp#but is a random homestead somewhere around Hyrule#historically it is a thing people do--bury their money or jewelry or precious belongings for safekeeping#especially when disaster or destruction is expected or imminent#that's farmers in modern times sometimes find caches of coins or arrowheads or jewelry in their fields when they plough#I can imagine Wild and sister and dad burying their precious items before Wild and knight dad report for service before the calamity#and sister probably went to live with someone else or moved somewhere ''safe''#I wonder if she survived#I know she probably didn't though#anyways#I'll stop rambling#linked universe#lu wild#story idea#anyone can adopt this idea
