I always see people saying that kenma is very private with his personal life. to me that isn't really true

when he announced that he was gonna have a baby to his fans, they went crazy.

even his whole fanbase was worried about him being a dad 😭

He'd probably want a boy since he very lowkey believes that boys are better at gaming

but he found out that you were having a girl

girls tend to be cuter though, right?

when the baby was born kenma was PANICKING

he doesn't know how to hold a baby at all, he was almost gonna drop the baby

you two decided to name her Ayaka <3

yes, he named his daughter after a game character

he had to do a lot of convincing though :(

he is confused on whether the baby will be too hot or too cold

he thinks newborns can eat a whole apple

it's mostly you taking care and doing all the 'parently' things

shares food with his daughter. a lot.

when his friends see this, they're all so surprised.

"I've never seen kenma share anything, not even with (y/n) !"

"He probably loves ayaka more than us 🙄🙄 "

even gets a little sad when his daughter doesn't wanna eat with him

is constantly trying to teach her how to play video games

she's probably gonna know how a controller works even before she knows how to talk

kenma is oddly very proud of it

he doesn't show her in any videos though, he will wait until she says she wants to

but when she does say she wants to be in his videos, he's gonna start posting random 10 second videos

"my daughter chews on her shoe"

"giving my daughter a lemon for the first time"

"trying to put headphones on my daughter"

they are all so cute but strange at the same time 😭

she's exactly like kenma in some ways

she absolutely HATES being touched

except for her daddy though

like this girl will glare at someone and then turn around to snuggle with her dad

such a sassy lil thing

kenma is the fun parent, he kinda just wants ayaka to enjoy herself

you'd bake cookies and tell kenma that your daughter can't have more than 3

but guess what? those two would wake up at 4 in the morning and secretly eat way more and you wouldn't know a thing

he'd also spoil her a lil too much for your liking

if his daughter wants something, it will be hers in less then a few hours

in conclusion, Ayaka's life as the daughter of worldwide famous kodzuken is something a lot of people would want

Ok so you and kenma def meet at like some cute little cat cafe his daughter had been heavily interested in and obviously being the outgoing and energetic little two year old she is she came babbling right up to you before her dad came to scoop her up apologizing profusely for her and you just had the softest smile telling him it was more then alright that you’d worked in a day care.

He smiled telling you it wouldn’t be king before he’d have to enroll her in a day care and before he knew it you were scrawling down your number telling him to call you.

Now however, you’re far past the first phone call actually you’ve got the precious toddler on your hip as you stand beside him on his mother’s porch as you swear as much as he keeps telling you that she’s going to be overjoyed to see you, you however weren’t so sure she would be.

I mean what if he was a mama’s boy?? What if she just wouldn’t like you?

He squeezes you hand softly and before you know it his mother is pulling the door open.

“I’ve heard so much about you darling, how’s he treating you?” Her smile is warm much like her son and you can almost immediately tell that she does not in fact resent you.

“Well” you respond, “he’s really good to me and this cutie” you give the toddler the slightest tickle and she’s giggling like a mad man, his mother smiles she can’t imagine he’d be better with anyone else, she’s never seen her boy this happy and you make her beloved granddaughter happy as well.

LATE NIGHT GIGGLES

pairing: dad!kenma x reader

it's been a long night, the house is quiet and kenma had just finished a very long stream. he looks over to his computer to see his game pending an update. bored with nothing to do, he ponders over what he can do to pass time and decides to go over to your shared bedroom

getting up from his gaming chair, he sighs as he looks at the time 1:28am. you've been married to kenma for almost two years but have been living together for four years, you're used to this and you've always supported kenma and his career but you've also been very concerned at how much time he spends staying up

kenma opens the door and makes his way to the bedroom, careful not to bump into something since the lights are off. once he navigates himself through the dark and to your bedroom, he hears very loud cries coming from the bedroom beside yours

and the source of those cries are from no other than the beautiful baby girl you had with kenma 3 months ago. kenma makes his way towards the bawls of your baby from her room and turns on the light, he goes towards her crib and is met with her tear-stricken face

“what's wrong sweetheart?” he says, kenma hates to see his baby girl all sad

nevertheless, she can only say a few babbles and can't answer her father's question. kenma thinks he should go and get you but he's been so busy lately that he hasn't had the time to take care of her, he wants to make up for it and do his job as her dad

he checks her diaper but it isn't full yet, he goes to the kitchen to make a bottle but she doesn't seem to be hungry either. ‘what could be the problem?’ he thinks to himself. she starts to giggle and now kema's just thinking she's messing with him, so he takes her back to her room and places her on her crib but it looks like she's about to cry again.

he's thinking that maybe he should take her to you so he can get back to his game but at the same time you've been so tired from taking care of her all the time that maybe a good night's sleep is just what you need

kenma decides to just take her to his gaming room instead. the update seems to be finished so he decided to open the game, some good old fashioned minecraft. he starts making a house and puts flowers around it, much to his daughter's delight

she starts to giggle again and makes grabby hands towards the mouse, kenma taking it as a notion that she wants to play with him

it's cute, he thinks, but she can't really play video games with her. though he does hope that once she is old enough she will also take up an interest in video games and want to play and be like her dad. but for now, the most she can do is watch him mine for diamonds or shoot arrows at mobs

and that's totally fine with him, after all, he gets to spend time with his baby girl anyways

a/n: i haven't posted in a looong time, but since it's almost summer i might start to post regularly ^^

BROOOO YOU GOT ME CRYING IN CLASS 😭😭

I just know that I’m the mornings, you get up and put the tiny baby on the mound of pillows next to him. She grunts and gurgles, but is otherwise satisfied and happy as you nestle her next to your husband.

You gently press a kiss to his temple, “Maesi is on my pillow,” you murmur, thumb gently stroking his cheek. It’s enough to rouse him slightly without waking him fully.

“Aight,” he yawns, chasing your warmth briefly before curling back into a small ball. You chuckle and gently hook a lock of his hair behind his ear to start breakfast.

A few minutes later, Maesi starts to coo, little huffs and gurgles in her mouth that ring through the air. Kenma grunts and stretches again, finally ready to be awake for the day; he’s not going to complain that the day starts with a kiss from you and waking up next to his baby.

Maesi looks down at him and coos happily. “Sup champ?” He teases, lifting a fist to knock against her small mitten clad hand. “Fist bump.” He makes it explode with a dramatic explosion sound and then a quiet “nice.”

Maesi merely puffs a few giggles and a wide, gummy smile.

Kenma sits up with a massive stretch, eyes twitching and chest grumbling from the force. The rain makes the room cold and dark, exactly the conditions Kenma thrives in, and he scoops his little five month old up and into his arms to cradle her.

“Gonna kiss momma on the mouth for changing you,” he mumbles, kissing her nose and squeezing her softly. “Cleaned up your doodoo shart so I could sleep in. A keeper, that one.”

Maesi merely jams her fist at his nose, and he pretends to knock out from the force, her little gaspy laughter filling the room once again.

SO I JUST READ LIKE THE CUTEST HAIKYUU FATHERHOOD ONE SHOT AND NOW I WANNA DO HAIKYUU CHARACTERS AS DADS, HEAD CANONS (More of the earlier stages of fatherhood, when they first experience it)

This is the first thing I've written on tumblr pls spare me...

Hinata Shoyo:

He was quite surprised at the announcement of your pregnancy that he passed out

He was soooo excited none the less, being a father sounded pretty fun

He definitely started reading books to try to help him figure things out

He was a terrible diaper changer (like no fucking joke, I think he'd be scared to change another one), he'd seen you do it so many times but for some reason he could never avoid getting peed on

Would brag to everyone about how cute his little baby is, "My baby just got their first tooth, and they're learning how to crawl! They've also got the cutest little chubby cheeks."

If the baby looks like you he would literally talk about it all the time. "Beautiful, just like your mama."

He's had experience with babies because well... Natsu <3

He got the baby a matching jersey so you two could watch his games :)

Bokuto Kotaro:

After finding out you were pregnant he would tell EVERYBODY The two of you were walking together to get ramen and you guys walked into the restaurant and got seats. The waiter came to you two and asked what'd you like to drink. "Hey, guess what? My wife is pregnant! Isn't that amazing?! We're gonna have a baby!" You had to hide your face from embarrassment but the waiter just giggled, Bokuto is def a himbo, your himbo.

He enjoyed decorating the room for your baby

He would dead ass miss practice to go to your appointments for the baby

The first time he held your little bundle of joy he cried like a damn baby, he couldn't help it. It made him so happy that the two of you brought a life into the world.

He didn't let Kenma hold your child for awhile because he was scared he'd drop the baby :')

Very protective of your little one

He wanted the baby's first word to be "Volleyball" but it was "da da" which still made him very happy

Bo is very proud of the baby you two have created so I'm 100% sure he takes a bunch of himself with the baby to post on his social media

He was scared to change diapers but he soon got the hang of it

100% would get up in the middle of the night when the baby is crying, just to let you sleep. "The baby." You sigh loudly as you hear your little one cry over the baby monitor. "I'll go check on them. You get some rest." You turn your head to face him, "You sure?" He just smiled at you and kissed your temple. "100%"

Suna Rintaro: (ofwhuowghwoqrwq do i need to say anything else?)

He thought you were joking when you said you were pregnant (oops) "That's a good one." He turned his attention back to his phone. "Rin... I'm serious. Do you wanna see the ultrasound?"

A little more on the hesitant side. He didn't want to believe it, but you had the proof so like...

He was low key scared to fuck up, his father was not a very good father so he was scared to be the same way his father was.

He didn't even hold the baby for the first few months. "Rin, come on. You aren't your father. You have me to guide you through the process. Come hold our little one." He stalked up the stairs, "no."

After awhile you finally convinced him to have physical contact with the baby "The baby.. i-is smiling at me?" You giggle at him, "of course they're smiling at you. They love their daddy of course."

After he finally started being around the baby, you literally could not tear him away from that child.

Some days he'd take the baby to practice, to the grocery store, everywhere.

You had to pry the child from his arms most days. "Rin, give the baby here.." He looked at you like you just told him to give away his prized possession. "Hell no." You sighed. "Rin you have to go to work!" He shrugged his shoulders, "the baby can come with me, Komori enjoys taking pics of them during practice." Jeez.. this man truly is something.

Overall he was scared for nothing. He was a great father ;)

Somehow he convinced you to have another one... (weren't you the same one who didn't hold your baby for months?) he wanted to make up for the few firsts that he missed

Kozume Kenma: (oh Lord)

He asked "Are you sure it's mine?" (yeah... virtual slap rn)

He told you he wasn't ready and asked if you'd consider an abortion or adoption, it made you really sad but you realized Kenma wasn't ready

It really hurt him to hear you cry about giving up your child which made him wanna try for you

Did not know how to hold the baby for the life of him "Umm.. am I like- holding it right..?" You burst into laughter at the sight. "Ken, you gotta support their head." He looked down at his baby. "Oh..."

He decided that he needed to do research before he ventured further down the path of fatherhood.

Kenma was confused with diapers. "You... you want me to change its diaper?" You scoffed at him handing him a fresh diaper. "Our baby is not an 'it' Kenma!" He groaned as he took the diaper from you. "Why can't you change it?" You rolled your eyes as if it was obvious. "Because I won't always be there to do it myself, duh."

You were out with a friend one day which meant Kenma was on babysitting duty, he was tempted to call Kuro to come watch his child but he'd say something like, "Kenma, it's your responsibility as a father, blah blah blah.." So he and the baby just kind of sat there staring at each other. "What do you wanna do?" He asked the baby, knowing they can't talk. The baby proceeded to poke Kenma's cheek and yell out, "DA DA DA DA." Kenma thought it was cute and laughed softly. "Yep, that's me." The baby repeated saying 'da' for awhile until they tired themselves out. "You're a lot like me." That day it clicked, he finally understood what it was to be a father

He wasn't very affectionate but he tried to show his baby that he cared the best way he knew how

You saw the changes and it made you happy

You caught him cuddling the baby once, when you accused him of being affectionate he rolled his eyes half awake and said, "M'not being affectionate! Go awayyyy."

Doesn't want to admit to being soft for his baby :)

When they insult you(Kenma and Oikawa)

A/N this blog is so weird- It’s like 400 styles in one.

Genre: Angst (it’s not SUPER bad- I can write a part two as comfort if y’all would like that)

Warnings: Insults obvi, pregnant reader(oikawa)

Part two

(not having a job)

Being with Kenma is wonderful. He never looks at other girls, fights you, and always is there to support and love you, so of course you did the same.

You’ve been dating him since high-school so you were there for him through his volleyball days all the way to his billionaire status. Naturally, you both loved and were there for each other unconditionally, so it was no surprise when he got down on one knee and proposed.

Currently the two of you were in the process of wedding planning which was super fun, but stressful as hell.

Kenma made enough money from streaming and his business and he loved to stream. So he was still working when he really didn’t need to.

You’d quit your job to focus on the planning and all had been going well.

Now the week was two months away and all you had left was the finishing touches.

All of the major stuff was done, and now all you had to do was plan the little things. Little things that would’ve been really helpful to have your fiancé's input on, so you opened his door slowly to see if he was streaming, which he was, but he was in the middle of a break.

“Hey baby,” you smiled, walking over to sit on his lap, “are you busy right now?”

You couldn’t tell when you walked in, but he seemed pissed off.

“I’ve been streaming for four hours. All I want is a break, what do you want?” He responded harshly.

“Just turn off the stream, I wanna talk about wedding stuff,” you bargained.

“One of us has to work, Y/N. I know it’s fun to just lounge around on the couch and pick flowers but I have a real job. A job I need to support you and this lavish wedding you want.”

After hearing this, you simply got up and left the room. If that was truly how he felt, so be it. There didn’t have to be a wedding after all.

Going into a guest room and slamming the door, you instantly started applying for jobs. Kenma knew you were waiting until you finished college to get a job again, and that he’d support you through getting your masters degree. But clearly, that was a lie.

And you wouldn’t force him to support you any longer.

(Not dressing up)

You were 20 weeks pregnant. Finally at the point where it didn’t just look like you ate a lot. It looked like you were growing a baby. This also meant that it was getting harder to find an outfit that wasn’t just a shirt that was streched out too much, or an ugly maternity dress that made you look even fatter than you felt. Thankfully, Oikawa was there for you ever step of the way. Buying you new things to try on, encouraging you, and telling you how beautiful you looked. But his views changed one day.

Now you and your husband, Oikawa, were walking around the grocery store. Just buying food for the week when one of his old classmates came up to him.

She was pregnant too, and shopping for groceries with her husband. The only difference was she was absolutely glowing. Her bump fit her nicely, and the dress she was wearing looked amazing on her. It gave her a very cheery vibe.

Since you didn’t go to Aoba Johsai, you didn’t know them. So, you just smiled and looked at the food intently, as if you didn’t know what you were going to grab.

After a while they left and Oikawa’s mood seemed to have worsened.

“What’s wrong babe?” You asked, trying your best to keep up with the speed that he walked to the cash register, “and we’re missing a few things.”

“Why can’t you look more like Nami? She’s 24 weeks and she still dresses nicely,” He complained, gesturing towards your Crocs, T-shirt, and sweatpants.

“I’ve tried, nothing you good on me,” you were about to cry. You didn’t know if it was pregnancy hormones or if it was the fact that your husband was berating you in public. It was a good thing the cashier had her airpods in and the store was fairly empty.

“Well maybe you should stay home then. It’s embarrassing when my friends’ wives look better than my own,” he grumbled, picking up the pancake mix and syrup you put in the basket, “seriously? Are you trying to look like a whale?”

Instead of explaining how HIS child was craving it, you simply put it back on the shelf and was silent the entire way home.

That night, after putting everything up and showering you rolled on your side of the bed alone. When he wrapped his arms around your bump as he did every night, you pushed him off. Ignoring him when he tried to apologize and reason with you.

The next day when he apologized, bought you new clothes, jewelry, and the food you wanted you still didn’t talk to him.

It’d take a lot more than bribery for you to forgive his actions.

2 weeks w/ Oikawa

Oikawa holds your hair back as you throw up in the bathroom toilet. As you wipe your mouth with the napkin he had gotten for you he jokes, “so you don’t like the new recipe?”

You pant, “no, I don’t.’’

Later in the day as the two of you are cuddling on the couch you sit up quickly clutching your stomach and Oikawa looks at you concerned.

“Baby, are you okay? Should we go to the doctor?”

“No, no, just period cramps probably.”

He paused, “speaking of when was the last time you had it?”

“What? It was….oh shit.”

“Congratulations,” the nurse says nervously, reading the room and seeing how you both didn’t seem to be in a celebratory mood. “I’ll give you a minute.” He excuses himself and then closes the door behind him.

“Parents, huh?” Oikawa says and you can only nod.

“Parents,” you confirm.

“Think we’re ready?”

“Hell no, but…we’ll work it out.”

“Yeah,” he agrees, walking over to the image of your child, “we will be.”

12 weeks w/ Kageyama

“Water?” he asked.

“Check,” you confirm.

“Snack for the car?”

“Check,” you sing, holding up a granola bar.

“Phone?”

“When do I ever forget my phone?” you wager and he clicks his tongue.

“Right, you do have a problem,” he mutters.

“Rude.”

“What’s rude is being late, so let’s get going,” he tells you, lacing your fingers together as he nearly drags you out of the apartment.

Ever since finding out you were pregnant, Kageyama, being Kageyama, has been so particular about everything it nearly causes a headache. The moment you wake up, he’s there with water and morning prenatal vitamins, and breakfast is already ready- in fact, everything you eat is already meal-prepped for you, by him, days in advance. He has notes of your favorite foods in his phone back from when you two were dating and used them to predict your cravings. Everything is taken care of and nothing is unexpected. He is seemingly prepared for anything involving the baby.

When you arrive at the office, you can see a hint of a smile fighting to form on his lips. Today is the 12-week ultrasound- aka-

“D-day,” he says, as he helps you out of the car- not that you needed it.

Today is the day it is confirmed that you two are having a boy. Not to be confused with the day you find out, because Kageyama already knows. He says it’s a ‘dad gut feeling’ something you wouldn’t understand. He’s already ready to fill the nursery with posters of his old volleyball teams for ‘inspiration’ and has his jersey number on a onesie coming in the mail next Tuesday. Kageyama was prepared for anything.

“And it’s a girl,” the nurse says with a smile and you feel your heart skip a beat before you look back at your husband who stared at the sonogram unblinking.

“Really?” you ask for the two of you.

“Yes, congratulations.”

The car ride was silent, dinner was silent, everything for the next 4 hours was silent, and you were sure you broke him. It’s not until your moments before turning out the lights does he finally speak.

“We’re having a girl,” he whispers, voice hoarse from lack of use.

You turn your head and nod, agreeing, “yeah, baby, we’re having a girl.”

He smiles at you, and a single tear falls as he confessed, “I wasn’t prepared for that.”

His smile turns wobbly and you pull him in for a hug as he sniffles against your shirt.

“Can we name her Tobia-”

“Baby that’s not funny.”

“I’m not joking-”

“Oh no, you have to be,” you tell him and he chuckles.

15 weeks w/ Atsumu

You don’t learn how much of a weirdo Atsumu is until you are pregnant. You should have known something was up when he’s giggling when he serves you dinner one night and the moment you take a bite he tells you, “ya know yer eating our child.”

You nearly spit the food out as you stare at him shocked.

“What the hell?”

“Did I word that wrong? Our baby’s the size of a sesame seed,” he explains then gestures to your food, confused why you stopped eating.

This continues on, for 4 weeks it was sesame, 5 poppy seeds, 6 lentils, and so on and so on. By fifteen weeks little Miya is an apple and he’s grinning all the way through the beginning of the appointment as she spreads the gel on your stomach, which is now finally starting to show a bump.

“There’s baby,” the sonogram specialist says and Atsumu’s eyes grow wide.

He’s speechless for a moment staring at the sonogram before he whispers, “the little apple has my nose.

“Yeah, I guess he does,” you agree before you confess, “I hope he’s just like you,” but it’s too quiet for him to hear as he can’t bring himself to tear his eyes away from the baby, already the apple of his eye; your little apple.

40 weeks w/ Kenma

“Hey guys,” Kenma greeted his chat as he logged onto his stream.

Comments started flooding in and he squinted trying to read them, finally catching one, he replies, “no Y/N hasn’t given birth yet.”

“Wish I did,” you call out from the couch in the back of his room and even more comments flood in.

Once nearly everyone in the chat is asking questions about you, Kenma sighs, sitting back realizing he’s not going to get to the game and accepts it.

“Y/N’s fine, the due date passed, thank you, yes the nursery is done, baby girl,” he answers rapidly.

Then squints again trying to catch a particular question, “I actually wanted to address this. No, you won’t be seeing baby Kenma until she understands what the internet is and can consent to being on it. I also want to keep that portion of my life private.”

Characters that would only have kids from unplanned pregnancies:

Kenma Kozume:

He definitely never has and never will plan for kids. It's just never something he thought about seriously and being a father was never something he had an overwhelming desire to be.

However, he's lazy. He's already running a company and streaming so other times he just wants to be lazy.

Add in the fact that I headcannon that he has a lower sex drive and is on the ace spectrum (the two are not one in the same coming from someone who's on the ace spectrum) when he's in the mood he takes advantage of it.

So if you guys are in the thick of it and the condoms are in the other room or your out he's not about to go get some or stop unless you're very insistent.

Also you definitely asked him to go buy a box of condoms on his way home and he just didn't feel like it.

Anyway, you guys go without condoms a few times cause no way your gonna get pregnant after three rounds without.

Except you do.

When you tell him man just buffers for a moment like 😐 but he probably comes around the quickest. At first he's worried because he has trouble taking care of himself but if he can manage all his work he can manage a baby...right? Your already knocked up not like he can change it.

He ends loving your kid and being a dad. You might even be able to convince him to have a second, but afterwards he's not making the same mistake again.

Shouta Aizawa:

He already deals with a bunch of kids on the daily and he's a hero. So, kids were never in the cards for him as far as he was concerned.

However, like Kenma he has a lower sex drive and is on the ace spectrum. So, sometimes he's not even aware if your out of condoms or where you guys last put them.

So if you guys are in the middle of it and can't find the condoms your both like whatever it's just once.

But in a classic fan fic moment you get knocked up from having sex once without a condom.

At first Aizawa has a moment were he's like of course this happens to me. Then he's kinda quite and contemplates how the fuck he's gonna make it work, but he gets his shit together and makes it work.

He loves being a dad and works hard to do his best.

But, he's not having another one. He loves his kid, but he definitely gets a vasectomy before their first birthday.

Shoto Todoroki:

He would never willingly continue the Todoroki bloodline.

Like the other two he's on the ace spectrum. It's not really relevant but I wanted to mention it.

However, this man loves creampies. So, if you're out of condoms he'd purposefully not buy them for a couple days.

Not like one weekend of unprotected sex is gonna get you pregnant right?

Wrong, he knocks you up.

He freaks out the most. He has daddy and mommy issues so he never had a good example. He has a pessimistic, this child is doomed mentality. He probably stays somewhere else for awhile to figure his shit out.

It takes him a while to come around and he honestly doesn't fully until your kid is born. He sees and holds your kid for the first time and just has this moment.

He loves and adores your kid and now that he has the one you could definitely get him to have more. He loves being a dad even though he never thought he would be one.

Just some thoughts that invaded me. I saw an old show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, on Hulu. It's basically this teenager goes to band camp her summer before high school, has sex once, and gets pregnant. This got me thinking about accidental pregnancies and now we're here. I don't think these characters would ever plan to have kids and probably never had an overwhelming desire to be dads. But, they're the types to think an accidental pregnancy would never happen to them, would go without condoms, and then knock you up.

Kenma has nice cars. This is one I had to wrestle with myself on, considering he’s a Tokyo bby and his most familiar mode of transportation is most likely the public one. But, time-skip wise, he definitely has the money to splurge. And maybe high school volleyball traumatized him to the point where, out of spite, he’s vowed to never walk anywhere again (I’m sure the experience of riding on public transportation didn’t sway his resolve, either). So, yes, I like to believe he’s got some trendy cars. I imagine models like Toyota Supras or even Acura NSX’s—sleek, fast. They don’t have decals, and they aren’t chrome wrapped (I wish), but they’re shiny and dark and absolute beauties.

Imagine the gang decides to meet up for some McDonald’s. They’re waiting up. Suddenly someone’s like, “Who tf brought a Corvette stingray to the McD’s??” And, of course, it’s Kenma. Kenma, in all his messy-haired, raggedy-clothed glory. Hinata, passenger princess, pops his head out from the window with the largest grin on his face.

And if Kuroo ever wants to go cruising, sure, Kenma concedes and tosses him the keys. But he says, to Kuroo’s horror, “Start up the Nissan.”

Akaashi’s long-hair is a choice. I think a lot of fans interpret time-skip Akaashi’s long hair as something he has because he just can’t find the time to cut it. And I definitely can see that being canon; it feels in-character, for sure. But I’ll offer a different perspective. A lot of the time-skip characters were given haircuts—probably to signal their maturity/aging. It might even be because it’s a trend right now in Japan, to have shorter hair (can’t say for sure, though). Whatever the case, Akaashi was one of the few who didn’t get this haircut treatment. But if you want to hit me with, “Well, that’s because it couldn’t get any shorter without us rioting”—you know what. Yeah. I’ll give you that one.

Anyways, his hair is probably one of the first things we all noticed when we saw his time-skip design. It’s a major change. And it’s lovely! It looks deliberately styled (if fluffy), not as if he’s too busy to take care of it. For Akaashi, who wanted to right-off-the-bat work in a ‘traditional’ literature department, it makes sense to me that he perhaps wants to experiment with longer hair—something that also holds traditional significance in Japan. I’m also of the mind that his parents are strict fellows and think that, while they could enforce their expectations/rules on him as a minor, they disapproved of their son running around with long hair. So, that’s why we see this change in adulthood only.

Kiyoko had to like Tanaka in high school!! OK, OK. I know this one seems like it’s coming out of left field, but I’m putting it on here because I genuinely do find myself wondering about their relationship on a regular basis. Maybe ethnocentrism blinds me when I say this, but I don’t find the idea of “I’m gonna keep trying until she falls for me” romantic at all. Especially considering the fact that Kiyoko legitimately showed no interest in Tanaka, ever, and his and Noya’s gushing over her typically centered on her appearance. Another disclaimer: maybe I’m missing something that’s portrayed differently in the manga, which I began reading at the nationals arc because I wanted to know what happened after the events of s1-4 of the anime. But, yes, Tanaka’s fanning over her felt like a running gag retconned into seriousness. And for me to reconcile their relationship, I have to believe that Kiyoko in her journal was secretly doodling “K+R” and “Tanaka Kiyoko” in hearts. We love a cool, calm, collected love-struck queen.

Lmao a hilarious scenario just came to me can you write about kenma's baby mistaken a pudding for their dad 😂

Pls all I can imagine is like this chubby eight month old baby confusedly looking at the pudding cup in the counter as the whisper a little bitty dada? Anywho!! Tysm for requesting I love requests so much😭😭

When you dug the pudding cup out the fridge for your giggly eight month old to eat with you, you definitely didn’t think they’d see a resemblance in the pudding cup to their father.

Kenma was sat in the living room.

You watch as your baby stares at the cup confused tilting his head slightly as he examines the little cup.

Before you know it he’s grabbed the cup and begins shaking it he gasps when he brings it closer to his little face seeing the colors similar to his dad’s hair, “dada!” He shrieks loudly and kenma comes running in practically knocking the end table over as he leans over your baby’s highchair trying to catch his breath.

You watch as your baby smiles shaking the pudding again before shouting another, “dada!” As he looks at the pudding.

Kenma lets out a little giggle before leaning over to pepper kisses on his chubby little cheeks causing the little baby to giggle happily.

man i just. sit and think about how loved and cherished kenma must have been in the kuroo household . . . because masahiro probably had all this guilt and self-blame over pulling eight-year-old tetsurou's world apart, pulling him away from his mother and sister, doesn't think he has any right to be a father when he put tetsurou in this situation, just thinks this is the biggest fuck-up of his entire life and so very dearly WANTS to help tetsurou, but what can he do when this is all his fault? when tetsurou probably hates him to the point of no return? and masahiro KNOWS he's the adult here, he's supposed to cope and get over it and all of that bullshit but his own heart is breaking at the seams in a million different directions and it's HARD because he thought he'd have a partner through all this!! but now he doesn't!! and for the first time in his life he doesn't know what to DO!!

and then one day tetsurou brings home this small grumpy-looking quiet kid with the BIGGEST smile on his face, when he hasn't smiled ONCE since they moved, and masahiro crouches down and asks the kid his name and he says "i'm kozume kenma", and masahiro swears to himself then and there that kenma will ALWAYS be welcome at their house

She got her quiet sneaking in from you.

Kenma’s fingers tap roughly on the controller in his hands, tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth in focus. He’s died four times to this monster, its shrieks of agony scaring him once embarrassingly in front of his chat, the other three deaths because, now that he’s past being scared, Kenma realizes what a damn hard boss this is.

“Chat, I’m telling you right now, if I see this dev in the streets, I’m taking a crowbar to their knee caps- this is a promise, not a warniIIIIIIING!”

He lurches from the gentle tug of his elbow, heart sinking to his chest in complete fear and acceptance that this is it for him, he’s dead. His arm is ripped away from the source, but when he hears a tiny gasp in fear, Kenma’s heart beats calmly again.

“Daddy okay?” Maesi asks, and kenma pauses the game to turn to her.

“You startled me baby,” he teases, and she blocks up at him with doe eyes to coax him to forgive her. As if she really needs to do that. “But what’s up beautiful?” He asks, putting down his controller and stretching. “How are you, angel?”

Maesi hums and passes her father the plate, her eyes peering up at him timidly- a trait he wants to blame on you, but every time, he’s met with a cocked eyebrow from you. “Want french fry?”

Kenma chuckles and nods, “I mean, you know I’m never gonna say no to fries,” he says, reaching down to grab the lukewarm fry from her tiny plastic plate. God knows how long they’ve been out, at least four hours; but that doesn’t stop kenma from letting his little girl take care of him in her own way. “You wanna be in daddy’s stream? Say hi to chat?” When she nods, Kenma lifts her up and into his lap, and once done, he reaches over to pick up another fry. In his headphones, Kenma hears that he got a donation.

“Thank you, Kuroo,” he scoffs. “Spawn, say hi to chat and uncle Tetsu.”

“Hi chat, hi uncle Tetsu,” she hums shyly, and Kenma kisses her temple around his chewing. “What playin’?”

“Daddy’s playing a scaaaary game,” he says, voice hiked slightly while he gasps. Maesi giggles before passing him another fry, which he takes quickly.

“Gonna have nightmare,” she warns.

Kenma raises his brows in agreement, “mommy’s gonna have to tuck me in.”

“Me too,” she mumbles, curling into Kenma’s hoodie, nose burrowing into his neck and tickling his skin slightly. “Play Star Valley?” She asks.

He hugs her tightly with a fake groan of effort, and she giggles happily, “you want to watch daddy play Stardew Valley?”

“Yeah..”

“Does mumma know you’re in here?”

Maesi is quiet- he chuckles and shakes his head, letting her get comfortable against him. He knows you’re not far, probably asleep on the couch, and Kenma prepares himself to potentially have to carry his two sleeping babies to bed.

“Alright- one second chat,” he says simply, grabbing his controller to change the game to the easy, calming game Maesi loves to watch him play. “We’ll pick that up tomorrow. Gotta protect myself from nightmares.”

Once again, Maesi lets out a little laugh; she tucks her face as close as she can to him, only shifting to grab another fry to munch on. He tips his head slightly again, to plant a kiss on the crown of her head, the soothing music in his headphones gets placed on her head, and before kenma can start any of his tasks, he feels Maesi’s breathing even out, her plate of fries and nuggets placed somewhere on the desk for him to take.

And that’s okay. He’ll play for a while, just in case she wakes up, and he’ll let her sleep in confidence in her fathers arms. Kenma’s pleased as the numbers in his stream doesn’t immediately drop: it stays, even now as it’s been hijacked by the one he loves most.

No one asked but I feel like talking about them so I will

I could go on all day about all the different reasons I really love Miu and Kaito as characters, but I could also do the same for literally every other character. Bc I love the entire cast of Survive to death and have more to say about them than anyone would ever want to hear.

But the main reason these two stand out to me above the rest despite the fact that I wouldn't say they're BETTER by any means is just that...they're so relatable to me, it almost hurts.

Starting with Miu, I'm both a younger sibling and the youngest in my friend group. So like, I'm no stranger to being coddled to death. Even people who I've specifically asked to stop treating me like a child still act like I'll somehow accidentally kill myself if they leave me alone for ten seconds. I'm an adult and literally earlier today my roommate freaked out that my hand was too close to the stove even though I've been cooking and baking for us for the past week. And it's infuriating! I know they mean well and I know it's because they care but ffs it makes me feel like everyone thinks I'm some kind of weak useless idiot. I digress (spoilers for the harmony route) I also know what it's like to have parents that won't believe you when bad things happen to you and try to blame you for things that can't possibly be your fault. I ALSO also know what it's like to have a special interest that means a lot to me but that other people think is weird.

And with Kaito

Boy I don't even know where to start with him

Guess I'll start with saying even though I just said I'm a younger sibling, my family dynamic is a little weird. My sister has always been a bit of a troublemaker, while I was the "so mature for your age" kid, so for as long as I can remember, I've been the one looking after her. I've always felt so responsible for her, and when some shit happened to her in our old town that was bad, well...it kinda felt like I failed my one (1) job. Our parents didn't take her side in what happened; in fact they were pretty pissed at her for getting into trouble. And she didn't wanna tell her friends. So I was really just...all she had. If I wasn't there for her, then no one was. We moved to a new town, she started acting up more, things got difficult. I hated my classmates and my family and I was just so goddamn angry all the time that I was constantly getting in fights at school. It's a lonely experience, feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders and no one even notices or cares. And it wasn't until YEARS later that even my sister looked back and was like "holy shit I would've gone insane without you" and even acknowledged that I did a lot for her. So yeah I guess you could say I know how it feels to love someone and want to do anything you can for them even if you're not sure they love you back.

It's exhausting and frustrating and you get PISSED a LOT. Sometimes at them. Especially when they get mad at you when you're just trying to keep them SAFE goddammit why don't they GET THAT. But you don't just stop loving them, ya know? And yeah that makes me a hypocrite considering earlier I said I hate when people feel like they need to protect me, but also my 5 foot 90lb sister tryna go out ALONE with telling anyone where she's going is not the same as me having someone pull a box cutter out of my hands because "sweetie be careful that's sharp"

ANYWAYS

The hyperspecific circumstance of being an edgy 14 year old suddenly adopted into a friend group where people are baffling kind to you and now you have to learn how to communicate with words is just comically relatable like Kaito gives me so much secondhand embarrassment with his shitty communication skills. Like I, the player, understand exactly what he's TRYING to say. But then what he actually says is just so far off the mark that I cringe at the flashbacks of teen me doing the same thing. Like okay spoilers for the wrathful route and dracmon's mega evolution but FOR EXAMPLE

The time he tried to tell Aoi that he understood that she felt responsible for Saki's death but that it really wasn't her fault and she did all she could but he accidentally made her feel 10x worse instead

And the time the sentiment of "please leave so I can go all out in this battle knowing that you are safe because you're important to Miu which makes you important to me and I need to protect you" just came out as like "get out of my way"

He tries so hard to do good but he fails so much at conveying his intentions that it always comes across as bad and it makes me so sad for him because like...MOOD, little buddy.

Even though the violent cringey little bastard that was 14 year old me doesn't exist anymore and hasn't in a very long time, Kaito is just such an intensely personal character to me—to an almost terrifying extent. He occupies a very special place in my heart, even over characters I've loved for years. He's my favorite little guy!
