Candace, Kaveh, Wanderer / gender-neutral reader.

Synopsis: Of all things, you became a seelie when you got isekai’d into your favourite game, Genshin Impact. You decide to make them fall for whatever charms you have left in hopes of being taken in as a pet to survive.

— ( Inspired by the manhwa Of All Things, I Became A Crow. Requests relating to this AU will be ignored. )

#CANDACE

Candace found you when a sandstorm had kicked up in Aaru village, with riftwolves roaming on the village grounds. You were desperately battling against the sandstorm whilst trying to avoid the riftwolves' jaws, and you would have become riftwolf chow had she not stepped in to save you. Like a true warrior of the Great Red Sand, she repelled the riftwolves' attacks with practised ease before offering a kind hand to you once they were taken care of.

Like any sane person would, you didn't hesitate to accept the protection she was willing to provide your seelie-turned self. Candace wouldn't mind you following her back to the inner part of Aaru Village since you're just a harmless little, albeit strange creature in her eyes - and she would be pleasantly surprised upon realising that you want to stay with her.

Candace would instantly warm up to you. How could she not, when all you've done is be cute give her and her people valuable companionship? She starts looking forward to seeing you play with the children during her morning patrols; now that you're here, Aaru Village is suddenly bursting with life as joyful laughter rings in the place of silence.

She appreciates it whenever you attempt to help her solve a dispute between two people, or decide to accompany her as she patrols the village to repel any threat. Although she commends your bravery, she'd be a little hesitant about letting you tag along when she's heading out during a sandstorm, worried that you might get hurt while she's fighting the monsters.

As Candace possesses an innate nature for taking care of others, you'll no doubt be living your best seelie life if she's the one you've chosen to stay with. You'd have your very own cushion to rest on in her room, and she'd even make a pouch that's big enough for you to hide in when there's danger. It'll eventually become a habit for her to call out to you whilst holding the pouch open, expecting you to pop inside every time she's about to go out.

She'd sometimes leave you in Cyno's or Dehya's care on her busy days. She trusts no one else but those two to take good care of you, and would make them promise that they won't let you stray from their sight. If anything bad happens to you while she's away... Well, they wouldn't want to find out.

Until you find a way to tell Candace your real name, she'd call you Iti, which means "moonlight" in Sumerian. After all, you are the silver light that made Aaru Village bloom in the darkest hour.

#KAVEH

Kaveh first met you when he was locked outside of Al-Haitham's house one night. As he was despairing over the fact that he's missing the spare key his roommate had given him, you floated up to him from behind with a familiar jingle which caught his attention. Earlier, you had come across Al-Haitham looking at Kaveh's key, and immediately snatched it out of his hand with the intention of giving it to Kaveh once you find him.

Kaveh has no idea what type of creature you are and felt slightly awkward when you held his key out with a tiny paw. At first, he doubted that it was his but when you insisted by shoving the key into his hand, he relented by taking it. He was surprised to find the door unlocked after he tried the key, and wondered how you knew it was the key to Al-Haitham's house and that he was looking for it; nevertheless, he was grateful to you. Kaveh didn't expect you to follow him inside however and when he noticed, he tried to shoo you away; he only stopped when you flew around the house and helped him tidy the spaces up (read: putting Al-Haitham's hard-to-read books back in their shelves) to the best of your ability. Huh, maybe having you around wouldn't be so bad, he thought, subconsciously petting you with a smile.

Kaveh gets another (mini) roommate. It'd take him a while to get used to living with a pet seelie, and once he does, he'll wake up expecting to see you sleeping adorably on his pillow, or balancing a fresh cup of coffee on your head by his bed. If you're still sleeping when he wakes up, he'd cuddle you like a teddy bear until you've roused yourself from your slumber. The little things you do for him would put him in a better mood than before, and Kaveh would also find himself smiling more often, especially if you're with him.

It'll be a plus if you've studied architecture, civil engineering or interior design back in the modern world. You'd be able to help him with his work and once he realises how intelligent you are, he'd teach you the common language of Teyvat so that the two of you could communicate better. Kaveh will eventually see you more as a companion instead of a pet, and he'd start introducing you as his assistant to his colleagues. Al-Haitham can go ahead and think of him as a lunatic for treating you like a human for all he cares.

Since Kaveh doesn't know what seelies are, he wouldn't know that you don't need to eat in order to live (more that you can't since you don't have a mouth...). He would try to share some of his food with you, but when he discovers that you can't eat, he'll feel a little bad about eating in front of you. He'd describe the taste of the food to you instead, and would occasionally make comments about you trying a certain dish out if you ever get a chance to be a human. In his free time, Kaveh would sometimes browse through the books on strange creatures in the Akademiya's library in hopes of learning more about your race.

Kaveh would feel absolutely betrayed if you show signs of favouring Al-Haitham over him. He won't hesitate to march up to the Scribe and pick a fight with him as he accuses Al-Haitham for trying to steal you from him; you're his seelie and assistant, so Al-Haitham should go get his own!

Later on, Kaveh would make a miniature Mehrak for you. It's not as advanced as his, but it has a text-to-speech function built in; it can scan texts and read them out loud for your convenience. He'll stick a matching feather accessory on you as well so that others will recognise you as his seelie, and it'll also allow him to track you down if Al-Haitham takes you away he ever loses you.

#WANDERER

While you were vibing with the aranaras, a Fatui pyro agent suddenly grabbed you out of nowhere. You didn't know why you were getting kidnapped when you're just hanging out with Sumeru's vegetables, and it wasn't until you heard him mention Dottore's name did you realise that he was one of the Doctor's subordinates. Fortunately for you, Wanderer happened to be passing by and ended up beating the pyro agent to oblivion as he reminded the puppet of his Fatui past, thus becoming your unconventional hero.

Although Wanderer would be silently questioning why you're following him, he wouldn't try to drive you away; he'd take you to Nahida and ask her about you. As the God of Wisdom, Nahida would know what you truly are after observing you for a bit, and tell Wanderer that you're a human who was cursed to take on this form. She notes that you're different from the other seelies and would ask him to watch over you while she looks into Irminsul. Begrudgingly, Wanderer accepts the babysitting task she has given him.

Now that he knows you're formerly a human, he would treat you like one... and rather coldly. But that's not enough to drive you away apparently, and Wanderer would be bewildered if you show him any form of affection. Nuzzle his cheek, sit on top of his hat, or push against his lips if you're feeling bold - the latter would fluster him so much that he'd refuse to look at you for the rest of the day.

Wanderer would eventually get used to your attention and expect you to stick with him since Nahida had trusted him to take care of you. Although you can't talk, he understands your intentions through your actions alone. Whether it'd be you wanting to check a vendor out on Treasures Street, to visit Nahida for whatever reason, or to decorate him with Sumeru roses... He'd throw the roses out later but secretly keep one as a memento of the time he spent with you.

Wanderer is surprisingly a good babysitter (or seeliesitter?). He keeps you safe from the Fatui and allows you to seek refuge under the shade of his wide-brimmed hat when it gets too hot during the day. If it becomes too chilly for you at night, he'd let you tuck yourself in his kimono. At one point, Wanderer laid himself down beside your slumbering self on the grass as he covered you with his hand.

If you try to fly off to chase after Aether or your favourite Sumeru character, Wanderer would block your path with his Anemo powers or stop you by grabbing your tail-like part. Don't get mad at him now, he's only trying to look after you like Nahida had asked. He's definitely not afraid of you abandoning him...

Nahida would be very happy to see Wanderer getting along with you, and would ask you to be a good friend to him as she also promises to find a way for you to regain your human form. It just so happens that Wanderer is thinking of the same thing - of helping you become human again.

When I finally farm all of Raiden’s mats I think I’ll start doing Layla’s. Maybe.

I’m a bit torn between farming her mats or Sucrose’s.

Summary: In which when Lumine and Paimon traveled into the Chasm they were told some things that had been happening in the Chasm such as monsters seen scaring Treasurer hoarders away with their supplies being taken and a strange small figure running around the Chasm.

When both companions met up with Dainsleif again, all three did not expect to see what was in the chasm.

Right in front of them was a child who was hugging a sleepy blue creature and child smiled at them before saying:

You being the youngest Hermit who was full of curiosity and chaos found an island that you could use to make a mega base with your trusty companion and Bodyguard Rubedo by your side.

However it seems you found the ones that Xisuma was told about and why is it that these people keep mistaking you as a god? Also, Rubedo has been acting strange.

Summary: It's always been everyone's dream or fantasy to appear in Genshin and love the characters you enjoy playing or having one of the charas in the romantic light. Honestly, You understood why people are like that, especially how popular and amazing Genshin is although you kind of wish you are not the one who felt being watched on your phone whenever you play the game.

Info: No creator reader but the traditional concept of what Self Aware Genshin is like, Yandere themes, Obsession, Dark themes, etc.

Hi! Intro post. A very shitty one too :3 (I never claimed to be good at tumblr)

My name's Kasper, Kaz for short, pronouns he/him and 21y/o. I'm a kitsune nonhuman, a trans man, asexual, arospec (quoiromantic), and gay.

Additionally, I'm an anarchist/antifascist, punk/emo menace, voidpunk, artist, furry, and generally quite obsessed with death, the macabre, and the aesthetics of such, with a side of cyberpunk and traditional Japanese!

I'm not in many fandoms truth be told. Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, DnD, Six of Crows and the rest of the Grishaverse to a lesser extent (rip s3), Ōkami (the video game. high-key my favorite game of all time) and the Soulsborne games. I also play most soulslikes and most action games with japanese aesthetics for nonhuman reasons :3

Genshin mains are Thoma, Childe, Wrio, Heizou, Scara, Lynette, and Lyney. Honourable mentions go to Ayato, Tighnari and Miko. On my main account, that is, my alt has a separate collection!

HSR mains are Luka (hypercarry!), Arlan, Aventurine, and Jing Yuan, though I'll definitely be collecting more pretty boys down the line. And one day I'll finally have Gepard! Whether he likes it or not!

This blog is largely miscellaneous. I don't have nearly enough brain cells for more than one, haha, barring my nonhumanity sideblog @kitsune-bones. I do have a tag system though!

Aether, Dainsleif / gender-neutral reader.

Synopsis: Of all things, you became a seelie when you got isekai’d into your favourite game, Genshin Impact. You decide to make him fall for whatever charms you have left in hopes of being taken in as a pet to survive.

You were ecstatic when Aether chose you over the purple seelie; you didn’t want to be trapped in the glass container you had been captured in for an eternity shortly after being isekai’d into Genshin Impact.

Aether would be surprised by your immense enthusiasm to travel with him, and he laughs softly when you nuzzle his cheek. He certainly picked an affectionate seelie and doesn’t regret his choice at all.

Your intelligence comes as another surprise for him. He knows that seelies are good at finding treasures, but you seem to be a special case as the intelligence you possess is on par with a human’s. You’d help him solve the complicated puzzles scattered around Inazuma, and you don’t hide like his other pets when monsters show up! Like a true companion, you float by his side in battle, empowering him with your moral support. He truly appreciates you.

Aether takes really good care of you, and even Paimon pointed out how he seems to love you more than her. You don’t need to eat as a seelie, but he sometimes forgets that and ends up pushing the food he made against your blob-like body, earning a squeak of protest from you. He also tends to sleep while hugging you like a teddy bear; he didn’t think you were one to enjoy cuddles until he found you all nestled up in his arms one morning.

You’re an adorable and smart seelie, so of course you’d attract the attention of his friends. Childe complimented you on how brave you are to not poof out of existence when there’s danger, and Xiangling commented on how chewy you look… However, Aether’s greatest concern is Ayato; when the Yashiro Commissioner noticed how intelligent and loyal you are, he kept trying to bargain with Aether to keep you as his pet. Of course, Aether would shoot him down every time whilst holding you protectively.

Aether is used to people leaving him - but after embarking on many adventures with you as an extra companion, he can’t imagine things ever being the same if you suddenly disappeared one day. You’ve become an important presence in his life and he swears to protect you from Ayato. You and Paimon will always be with him, right? He didn’t realise he asked the question out loud until he feels you press against his lips, causing his cheeks to flush happily.

#DAINSLEIF

Your first encounter with Dainsleif was in Stormterror’s Lair. He was initially going to ignore you and continue his quest, but you had noticed him before he could leave. He’s caught off-guard when you suddenly barreled into his head with frantic squeaks, like you were trying to gain his attention. You wouldn’t leave him alone no matter what he told you, so he ended up letting you tag along.

He later notices that you’re not like any other seelie. You’re always trying to find ways to communicate with him, whether it’d be bumping against his head and then pointing at something with your blob-like paw, or writing on the sand in human language. Being the polite man he is, he would respond to your attempts at communication and soon finds himself talking to you whenever the silence becomes too much for him.

Dainsleif is surprisingly attentive towards you. He’s quick to pick up on your likes and dislikes, and would play with you for a bit if you persistently nudge his cheek with your seelie body. He’d poke and squish you until you get annoyed, your furious squeak eliciting a rare, amused smile from him. He would let you rest on top of his head if you’re tired of flying; his blond tresses make a good seelie nest.

Jealousy is a rare feeling for him - but you somehow were able to make him experience that unpleasant tightness in his chest when you met Aether for the first time. You squeaked loudly whilst flying around the traveler’s head as if you’re drunk before squishing yourself against his cheek. Aether was surprised by your sudden affection but didn’t protest as he smiled at you fondly. Before he had the chance to pet you, Dainsleif used his magic to drag you back to his side, reminding you that you’re already the companion of a handsome man.

Dainsleif only begins to suspect that your current form is not your real body when he catches a glimpse of a human in the reflection of the mystical mirror a Snezhnayan merchant was selling in Liyue.

He confronts you about it directly after observing you for a few days, and regardless of your answer, he’ll quietly ask you if he’s allowed to hold you for a moment. He’s been deprived of a companion and is touch starved for so long; the knowledge that an actual person has been accompanying him in the form of a seelie is able to relieve some of his burdens as an immortal.

a/n: how we all doing!! im just exploring golden apple archipelago and i can definitely see why everyone wanted it to come back. its really BIGGG and a lot of quests! i especially loved fischl’s play and the ravens, what a performance~ also the treasure hunting quest, it was so adventurous, and mona’s tower is SOSOSOSO pretty i took a bajillion pictures. i hope everyone else is enjoying this summer as much as i am! relax, have fun and enjoy it while it lasts~

Honestly, the trip to Seirai Island would’ve been much smoother if a certain crow wasn’t crying like hell by your side.

You will never, ever admit this, but you don’t exactly know how to drive a waverider. Usually, you would let your master show you the way, but he’s being occupied by some business with the Tenryou Commision. No form of communication was available without the police finding out, so you both had to stay out of touch for now.

That being said, you could always ask the traveler for help－ it was them that introduced you to such a mechanism, after all. But they’ve got enough on their plate, returning from the Chasm and all that. Plus, they’re planning to go to Sumeru next, and as much as you’d love to go with them, your duty binds you to this archipelago.

You swore it, after all. To die on the same soil that you were given birth into, is one of the many, many oaths you had to swear before being passed on your father’s handguard.

Sometimes, you wonder what it would be like－ to travel vast seas and let the world become your home. But you would have to be frail to the point of settling down by then, in order to give up your current life. It was either that, or death.

You shake your sentimental thoughts away. Inazuma is plenty big.

The clouds turn from its thundery grey into a vast purple.

You’re not completely aware of the history of Seirai, but from the traveler’s letters, it seemed like a Thunder Manifestation once struck the land with its storms. It lives on the top of a peak, or, at least, its phantom. You have no intention of fighting it. Though the traveler is amazing and exceeds at every turn, they too found the manifestation to be annoying and time-consuming.

If the legendary traveler who split waves to cross Inazuma (maybe this was an exaggeration, but you learned the stories from Teppei, so) found an opponent to be annoying, how would you find it? You don’t want to find out.

The traveler also dealt with the Electro Thunderstorm in both Tataratsuna and on Seirai Island. Bless them. It seemed like they were erasing the burdens the gods from years ago laid. What next, were they going to remove the thunderstorm on Yashiori Island?

You did end up staying at the House with a Wisteria Crest, welcomed by a group of enthusiastic women who were saved from the clutches of a demon by ‘a man who looked just like you, dear, are you his relative?’, your stomach sank but you said nothing.

Maybe the stay was what angered the crow to annoy the hell out of you during this trip.

No, not a maybe. It’s a definite reason.

“CAW! CAW!”

“Oh Archons above, shut the fuck up already!”

You never liked your crow. You always hesitate in receiving orders from a person who shouldn’t have authority at all.

“We are nearing Seirai Island! Prepare yourselves, for danger looms! Caw!”

You glance at the unnatural landscape. Even from a distance, you see groups of Kairagis and Fatui walking in their own circle. “Yeah, totally didn’t notice that, thanks for the heads-up.” You roll your eyes.

The traveler never mentioned anything about a shrine… was it irrelevant? It seemed like it was, compared to a ruin deep below simmering waters and ‘annoying as hell primarily-colored barriers’. You couldn’t see how the shrine would survive in such hazardous circumstances; hell, you don’t even know if there are any actual residents here－ whether by its nature or by demons.

Right, demons.

“Do you have any more information on this supposedly attacked shrine?” You ask the crow.

It ignores your question with a loud shriek, and you have the thought to choke the bird again.

Yes, you had a very bad temper, but it’s a miracle anyone wouldn’t be living such a life. Perhaps it’s because you’re too young and still have that youthful passion or whatever, but you’d rather burn yourself alive than stay tired and dry.

… Huh. Maybe that was the Pyro vision’s origins.

Anyway, your vision has saved you on numerous occasions, so you have that to thank. Your rebellious streak would have caused you to die ten times over before your slayer path could even begin had it not existed.

The waverider pulls to a slow stop, with the casual waves of the ocean rocking it back and forth towards land.

You glide off the wind current the waverider provides you, and you glance at the sky. The crow is gone again, meaning that your destination is probably not far-off. You probably won’t see it again until your mission is complete.

… Could the maidens guarding the shrine possibly wait for a week or two?

You slap yourself. Hold yourself together. You’re here to save, not to get rid of that pesky bird.

Surprisingly, despite the threatening vast purple cloud that looms over the crackling sky, you don’t see thunder tailing your ass every five seconds. You’re not complaining, of course. This makes exploration much more convenient than Yashiori Island.

“Hey.”

“Jesus f-”

You brandish your sword with a wave. God, you’re really not on your A game today－

What the hell?

“Shikanoin?”

At your confusion, the detective chuckles. That irriating, stupid chuckle that makes you want to sock him in the face.

“Wha- but how?” You fumble.

“Hm? Did I make you speechless?” Shikanoin grins from ear to ear. “Well, there are some things in this world that should remain a secret－”

“You got a waverider here, didn’t you.”

It wasn’t a question; it was a statement. Otherwise, how would he have come here? By riding a magical dragon? Please.

Shikanoin shrugs. “Would you believe me if I said I swam my way over?”

“Impossible.” You scoff. “Not with that little body.”

“The smallest are always the most cunning. They will do everything to reach the top.”

You raise an eyebrow. “Oh, you’re a rat, then? Gonna rat me out to the officials?”

Shikanoin feigned thinking about it. “Hmmm, no. How about I let your bird do all the talking?”

He grabs a rattling cage from behind and－ your heart drops as you see your crow going haywire in it.

As much as you find the crow a pain in the ass, it’s your messenger, the loudness to fill in quiet nights.

Nights without flare, knowing at least one person slipped from your grasp and being victims of the demons, can be quite easy to succumb to without the crow’s annoying jabs.

Plus, while you could replace a crow, you’ve gotten quite attached to yours－ even if you remember it as annoying and loud, the crow reflects your own personality－ hence you’re also annoying and loud, in other aspects.

“CAW! Absurd! How dare you capture me?!”

Pyro flickers on your fists, but you calm yourself. “What do you want?”

“I want to join your journey.” Shikanoin replies, without elaborating further.

You have half the mind to just steal it from him, but while Shikanoin isn’t a samurai, he can put up a fight. You will never let yourself live it down if your irrationality injured your crow.

“Argh, you little s－ fine.” You bite out, a hand gesturing Shikanoin to hand it over, but he merely smiles and waves his index finger.

“Nope, I’m keeping this.”

As if you would let him go the second you get back your crow. He’s going to get himself killed if he continues running around like a headless chicken.

“If you want to get killed so badly, I suppose I can’t stop you.” You roll your eyes.

“I won’t die.” Shikanoin smirks. “I have you after all－ my knight in shining armor~”

You whirl around and shoot a glare. This is why you prefer solo missions..“If you keep joking like that I’ll become the dragon that traps you in a tower.”

“Feisty.”

You ignore his comment and begin to walk.

Honestly, walking around with Shikanoin is just as annoying and you’d expect－ only this time, he isn’t a crow that fumes at your retorts. It’s you that keeps ending the jabs with a huff.

You’re an introvert, through and through－ just one of those extreme kinds where everything is a nuisance to you.

And yet, you can’t bear to see the world crumble because of your ignorance, so you push on.

“Sooo, where’re you from?”

“Inazuma City.”

“Your parents?”

“Doesn’t concern you.”

“Your occupation?”

“… Really?”

“Archons, you’re so boring to talk to.”

“I’m sorry, did I ask for you to, oh great and noble one?”

Shikanoin pouts, and you find it strangely suiting the brat. “We’re partners now. Speaking of, I don’t even know your name!”

“Again, none of your business.” You snort, your eyes still scanning the area. “It said there was a shrine… what’s that all about?”

At this, Shikanoin perks up. “Shrine? You mean the Asase Shrine?”

“… Yes. It refused to elaborate.”

“Hm? How can a shrine survive in such a deserted environment?”

You shrug. “I don’t know. I don’t think anyone’s been here for years. Except for the traveler, of course.”

Shikanoin squints his eyes, and points. “There’s a Statue of the Seven… we can probably get a wider view up there.”

“… Doesn’t having a Statue of the Seven usually mean it is a sign of having a god’s protection?”

You both share a look. “Probably not. Not with this… mess.”

“Then why…?”

“A sign of sympathy? Or was it originally there, and the storm had appeared only after?”

Thinking about it, you snort. Yeah, right. Sympathy your ass. The Raiden Shogun, preserver of eternity and killed those who defied against her, sympathizing with a product of another god’s death? The two can’t possibly be linked.

Be careful.

There is life everywhere. You don’t wield some super ability to be one with nature－ but you don’t remember when this voice has ever crept into your head.

It has never once harmed you, and aided you on many occasions, especially during the final selection, so you trust it, more than yourself… even though you’re sure relying on this voice too much will one day be your downfall.

Your senses sharpen at the sudden thought. “Be on your guard, detective.” You remind.

Shikanoin was silent, and you turned around to face him. His face has dropped its playful grin. Hmm, good. At least even people like him takes things seriously.

Something is circling this area.
