So i came out to my parents tonight...

it didn’t go bad persay, they’re not kicking me out, they’re not disowning me it’s just... idk I guess i was hoping for an emotion other than like, dissapointed acceptance? like they both went silent [ok but before after i had just said ‘so this may seem like it’s coming out of the blue for you but for me I’ve been thinking about this for years now’ they then proceeded to joke dad: “you wanna be called bob?” mom: ”you identify as a donkey?” so like... yeah] but idk it feels cold now i feel odd and this is exactly what i was dreading just.. nothing but the casual dour acceptance that they can’t say anything against this without being mean it feels like they want to argue but feel like they can’t without being the bad guy rrrg i just want like a hug or a ‘thanks for telling us’ or something... something more than just silence and stares... something other than the quiet realization that my parents won’t look at me the same way again..
