carrie down -- a reread i've been putting off a long time because i can't find a paperback copy bigger than a mass market, and i kind of hate mass market paperbacks. it's definitely a classic and one of my favorite kings, although i still want to see a period horror written by someone who has some closer experience with periods. happy 50th to carrie!
since i've been trying to write more lately, and since i've been trying to make my understanding of the horror lexicon more complete, i decided to read or reread all the stephen king books i can manage, in order (or at least as many as i can stand), interspersed with other books just to keep things easy-flowing. i just realized this means i'll have to slog my way through IT again 馃槵
#next should be interesting because ive tried to read salems lot like 3 or 4 times since high school and have never made it far#sk#books

man, i miss writing fanfiction a lot
i love my original ideas (and i have a LOT of original ideas...), and i want to write fiction professionally someday, but sometimes the process is just much less satisfying than fic. i have a hard time getting motivated to write (i've been in a months-long dry spell with my novel; the most i've written in months was part of a witch short story). and honestly i think the part that bums me out the most is that i don't have readers rn. which makes sense, bc all i've got is a bunch of half finished drafts, but i've got all these worlds and characters and plots alive in my head without anywhere to put them. i just miss the engagement from fic
