Like yeah I understand that laws and shit exist for a reason, and that a decent enough amount of the time they protect and help people. But goshhhhhhh right now I really wish it was easier to gain custody of a child you know isn't being treated right but there's nothing you can PROVE, because so many people don't think of children as human beings and don't think that they deserve rights.

see i am very attached to my tabris but surana mayy be becoming my primary warden bc her post origins/awakening dynamic with leliana is intriguing to me. bc she’s a anti-chantry blood mage while leliana becomes one of the hands of the divine
#liiike tbh surana with morrigan might make more sense. BUT. i like the idea of surana taking a long time to slowly open up to leliana bc she#expects leliana to reject her. and instead she finds that leliana is willing to criticize the chantry despite it being important to her.#leliana is kind and understanding and most of all willing to listen and talk- so surana falls for her#and then as justinia takes power as divine and leliana becomes more and more involved with the institution of the chantry the gentleness#that made surana feel safe and fall for her is slowly gone from leliana. and ofc surana doesn’t like that leliana’s a lot more actively#involved in an institution that has done little but harm amd harass her. but she still loves leliana and leliana would be assuring her that#justinia is doing the best she can to reform the institution#while that’s happening surana’s also getting more and more involved in her research for cures for thralldom/possession/the calling#which in turn worries leliana as 1. thats A Lot on top of grey wardening 2. blood magic 3. surana has a tendency to overwork herself#so like. theyre being pulled apart by different views and life direction and duties but they’re also clinging to what they view as a safe#and comforting thing in their lives. and also tbh surana does find it hot when leliana stabs people. she just is deeply worried about leli’s#mental health and worries that she might be put in a situation where she has to work against leliana#leliana has similar worries about surana except not as severe-surana hasn’t changed as much since da:o she’s always been a bit mad scientist#nimona surana

There’s a line from American Gods I keep coming back to in relation to Yellowjackets, an observation made early on by Shadow in prison: “The kind of behavior that works in a specialized environment, such as prison, can fail to work and in fact become harmful when used outside such an environment.” I keep rotating it in my head in thinking about the six survivors, the roles they occupy in the wilderness, and the way the show depicts them as adults in society.
Because in the wilderness, as in prison, they’re trapped—they’re suffering, they’re traumatized, they’re terrified—but they’re also able to construct very specific boxes to live in. And, in a way, that might make it easier. Cut away the fat, narrow the story down to its base arc. You are no longer the complex young woman who weighs a moral compass before acting. You no longer have the luxury of asking questions. You are a survivor. You have only to get to the next day.
Shauna: the scribe. Lottie: the prophet. Van: the acolyte. Taissa: the skeptic. Misty: the knight. Natalie: the queen. Neat, orderly, the bricks of a new kind of society. And it works in the woods; we know this because these six survive. (Add Travis: the hunter, while you’re at it, because he does make it to adulthood).
But then they’re rescued. And it’s not just lost purpose and PTSD they’re dealing with now, but a loss of that intrinsic identity each built in the woods. How do you go home again? How do you rejoin a so-called civilized world, where all the violence is restricted to a soccer field, to an argument, to your own nightmares?
How does the scribe, the one who wrote it all out in black and white to make sense of the horrors, cope with a world that would actively reject her story? She locks that story away. But she can’t stop turning it over in her head. She can’t forget the details. They’re waiting around every corner. In the husband beside her in bed. In the child she can’t connect with across the table. In the best friend whose parents draw her in, make her the object of their grief, the friend who lives on in every corner of their hometown. She can’t forget, so she tries so hard to write a different kind of story instead, to fool everyone into seeing the soft maternal mask and not the butcher beneath, and she winds up with blood on her hands just the same.
How does the prophet come back from the religion a desperate group made of her, a group that took her tortured visions, her slipping mental health, and built a hungry need around the very things whittling her down? She builds over the bones. She creates a place out of all that well-intended damage, and she tells herself she’s helping, she’s saving them, she has to save them, because the world is greedy and needs a leader, needs a martyr, needs someone to stand up tall and reassure everyone at the end of the day that they know what’s best. The world, any world, needs someone who will take those blows so the innocent don’t have to. She’s haunted by everyone she didn’t save, by the godhood assigned to her out of misplaced damage, and when the darkness comes knocking again, there is nothing else to do but repeat old rhymes until there is blood on her hands just the same.
How does the acolyte return to a world that cares nothing for the faith of the desperate, the faith that did nothing to save most of her friends, that indeed pushed her to destroy? She runs from it. She dives into things that are safe to believe in, things that rescue lonely girls from rough home lives, things that show a young queer kid there’s still sunshine out there somewhere. She delves into fiction, makes a home inside old stories to which she already knows the endings, coaxes herself away from the belief that damned her and into a cinemascope safety net where the real stuff never has to get in. She teaches herself surface-level interests, she avoids anything she might believe in too deeply, and still she’s dragged back to the place where blood winds up on her hands just the same.
How does the skeptic make peace with the things she knows happened, the things that she did even without meaning to, without realizing? She buries them. She leans hard into a refusal to believe those skeletons could ever crawl back out of the graves she stuffed them into, because belief is in some ways the opposite of control. She doesn’t talk to her wife. She doesn’t talk to anyone. It’s not about what’s underneath the surface, because that’s just a mess, so instead she actively discounts the girl she became in the woods. She makes something new, something rational and orderly, someone who can’t fail. She polishes the picture to a shine, and she stands up straight, the model achievement. She goes about her original plan like it was always going to be that way, and she winds up with blood on her hands just the same.
How does the knight exist in a world with no one to serve, no one to protect, no reason propelling the devastating choices she had grown comfortable making? She rechannels it. She convinces herself she’s the smartest person in the room, the most capable, the most observant. She convinces herself other people’s mysteries are hers to solve, that she is helping in every single action she takes. She makes a career out of assisting the most fragile, the most helpless souls she can find, and she makes a hobby out of patrolling for crimes to solve, and when a chance comes to strap her armor back on and ride into battle, she rejoices in the return to normalcy. She craves that station as someone needed, someone to rely upon in the darkest of hours, and she winds up with blood on her hands because, in a way, she never left the wilderness at all.
How does the queen keep going without a queendom, without a pack, without people to lead past the horrors of tomorrow? She doesn’t. She simply does not know how. She scrounges for something, anything, that will make her feel connected to the world the way that team did. She moves in and out of a world that rejects trauma, punishes the traumatized, heckles the grieving as a spectacle. She finds comfort in the cohesive ritual of rehabilitation, this place where she gets so close to finding herself again, only to stumble when she opens her eyes and sees she’s alone. All those months feeding and guiding and gripping fast to the fight of making it to another day, and she no longer knows how to rest. How to let go without falling. She no longer wears a crown, and she never wanted it in the first place, so how on earth does she survive a world that doesn’t understand the guilt and shame of being made the centerpiece of a specialized environment you can never explain to anyone else? How, how, how do you survive without winding up with blood on your hands just the same?
All six of these girls found, for better or worse, a place in the woods. All six of them found, for better or worse, a reason to get up the next day. For each other. And then they go home, and even if they all stayed close, stayed friends, it’d still be like stepping out of chains for the first time in years. Where do you go? How do you make small choices when every decision for months was life or death? How do you keep the part of yourself stitched so innately into your survival in a world that would scream to see it? How do you do away with the survivor and still keep going?
They brought it back with them. Of course they did. It was the only way.

Reverse: 1999 : Disabled Characters
The game doesn't stray too far on the neurodivergent allegory for the arcanists themselves. But at the same time, there are also inclusions of other characters who are very much known to be disabled. So for this post I'll delve into that, just a bit.
Now, there are 10 characters that I want to put in the spotlight. These mostly lean towards being canon, but a part of these are also researched upon and shortened so the post doesn’t become way too long.
Cristallo, Rabies, Erick : Chronic Illness
It's quite self explanatory that Cristallo herself has a chronic illness. She was born prematurely, with an added condition that makes her physically fragile. As seen in the game, she needs a life-support system to maintain her health when she's outside. It's also implied that her condition may be a recurrent cancer, as her arcane abilities are tied to a machine that provides cobalt therapy, a known advancement in radiotherapy in the post-WWII era.
Rabies is an odd case. In his stories, it's noted that Adam cured Alicia through unknown means at the cost of contracting rabies himself. However, instead of the virus being acute and guaranteed to be fatal, it becomes a chronic illness to Rabies due to the abundance and use of arcanum. And since the rabies virus attacks the brain, his cognitive capabilities and ability to recall things before the present had been impaired, making him rather docile and animal-like in nature as a result.
Erick, as revealed in her anecdote, has a hereditary blood condition that came with her arcane skill. With her arcane skill making her physically powerful, overusing it will accelerate the effects of her blood condition to the point that it can become fatal. To prevent this, she also inherited an armband from her grandfather, Harald. The armband suppresses one's ability to use arcane skills, but by extension it also prevents Erick's condition getting worse.
Shamane : Amputee
Shamane's circumstances are also self-explanatory. He lost his arm for unknown reasons, but after having lived without it for 20 years, it doesn't bother him anymore. However as we know, he crafted his prosthetic arm as a means to avoid scaring kids. (which I think is quite cool in itself)
Ms. Radio, Bessmert : Blindness
Ms. Radio and our new friend, Bessmert, are both canonically blind. Ms. Radio has stated that she cannot see, and asks Vertin to left in places where she can feel temperatures to make her feel at peace.
And as we know, Yenisei (or in other words, Yenisei's VA) has stated in the 1.6 livestream that Bessmert is known to be blind, but even with that, she's a great researcher and guide to her.
Mesmer Jr. : OCD [Content Warning: Mentions of Self Harm and Suicide.]
Mesmer Jr.'s character has heavily implied throughout the main story and her own to have OCD as a result of the traumatic experiences she had gone through from her field of work and her family’s history in it. She identifies that she has "incurable" anxiety, which causes her to think differently about arcanists and act a little irrationally from our own perspective. This anxiety results in double checking everything and having a slightly intensive routine.
This routine is created as a means to maintain herself and her own sanity, but an imbalance or interruption can greatly upset her. As a result, she has conflicting ideals, experiences hallucinations and panic attacks, has suicidal thoughts, and actively inflicts self harm as a means to cope with her anxiety. However, she’s calmer and at peace with herself when she's left alone in a quieter and clean space, away from others, and where nature is heard more than constant buzzing. In short, Mesmer Jr.’s mental health is really complex and would be better if it's explored in a separate post.
Baby Blue : Alice in Wonderland syndrome
It's no secret that Baby Blue has Alice in Wonderland syndrome, or in other words dysmetropsia. This affects her perception of reality and her ability to recall, but this in turn makes her arcane abilities all the more powerful. As a result, she doesn't realize that she's growing up, yet it seems she doesn't mind that much. This doesn't seem to affect her physically either; In fact, it has a heavy influence on how she displays her arcane skills.
Poltergeist : Social Anxiety
Poltergeist has been known to be anxious in social settings which conflicts with her people-pleasing tendencies. She's also insecure about herself which adds up to her not wanting to be directly perceived. At the same time, she doesn't like being left alone as a result of having been ignored and forgotten post mortem. Poltergeist is also elaborate (i.e. not wanting to be looked at for too long) yet awkward at the same time when communicating them.
However, I'm not sure how to describe Poltergeist's case quite well, but the idea of her having social anxiety resonates greatly in my mind, so it can be treated as a partial headcanon.
Balloon Party : Autism and Speech Impairment
Balloon Party as a child had contracted an illness that caused her to have a persistent high fever. In the end, she awakened her arcane skill this way, with her being able to cough up balloons that can be harmful or a cure to anything.
However, it might have also affected her speech because of the physical strain that comes from coughing, it results to BP's speech being a bit slow and having abnormal pauses before she speaks again. Though, this also might be a sign of her possibly also having autism, where rigid and uneven language development is a common pattern in how autism affects one's ability in communication. Her speech also has a pattern of echolalia, having a flat tone, and lack of control of it.
However, speech impediment isn't everything about autism, and there's a lot more about BP's character that also connects with it such as her special interests. I can better explore this in a different post, which will be explained below.
Last Notes
These are the characters I’ve written down, most of these are less headcanon and more of observations I’ve found when looking into these characters. Some people from the lore chat have also added their own insights on some of them. (Thank you lupjo for beta-reading through it and helping me out)
Of course, there are a few more characters I want to discuss because of the implications of them having autism / ADHD, but these will be written in another post in the future because I still need to research and gather other information. Additionally, it would be an opportunity to talk about the connections between an arcanist’s and neurodivergent person’s relationships with modern society.
Congrats for reaching the bottom of this post, and feel free to add your own ideas or headcanons about the characters here and/or any other ones.

Daily update post:
Today, two Palestinian terrorists from the city of Hevron had carried out a combined, multi-scene terrorist attack in the city of Ra'anana, killing one woman in her 70's and wounding at least 17 more people. The exact details are still being investigated, but the two terrorists are said to be from one family, 24 and 44 years old, they were denied a work permit in Israel due to terrorist activity in the past, but someone in Ra'anana agreed to hire them illegally. They have both been arrested. The combined method they used was a stabbing and vehicular terrorist attack, they stabbed people, stole the first car, used it to run people over until they crashed it, then they stole a second, then a third car, and continued ramming into people across several streets, before they were stopped. 7 of the injured are reportedly kids, and at least 3 are seriously wounded.
Tumblr media
As 136 hostages are still held captive in Gaza, 100 days after Oct 7, we got some data on the treatment of those released roughly 50 days ago: 85 are still under a nurse's supervision, 2 are still hospitalized, 54 are receiving mental health treatment of one type or another, only 18 have returned home, all the rest are still displaced, out of 40 kidnapped kids, 38 were released, but only 21 have returned to the education system, some in their own schools, some in schools improvised for their evacuated community.
In Turkey, an Israeli soccer player, Sagiv Jehezkel, who plays for a local team, scored a goal for it, and raised his hand, revealing to the cameras that on his bandage, he wrote "100 days," drew the Star of David, and added the date of Oct 7. It's obviously a gesture to the Israeli victims of Hamas, the ones murdered during or hurt by the massacre, and the ones still held in captivity.
Tumblr media
For this, Sagiv was condemned by the Turkish Football Association, suspended from his team, which annoounced he'd be fired, and then he was ARRESTED and interrogated by Turkish police. For making a humane gesture to honor his country's victims. This is how Sagiv was portrayed in an antisemitic Turkish cartoon, with blood dripping from his lips, evoking the antisemitic image of the Jews who feed on the blood of non-Jewish kids:
Tumblr media
Sagiv has been released after an appearance at court, and flown back to Israel immediately, but the head of the Israel Football Association said they're still worried for 2 more Israeli soccer players and 2 Israeli basketballers, who are currently playing for Turkish teams.
Shabak, the Israeli equivalent of the FBI (also sometimes referred to in English as Shin Beit), has confirmed today that Iran is operating social media platforms in Israel, that allow it to harass the families of the Israeli hostages, and Israeli security forces (for example, by exposing their addresses, or sending them flower bouquets with offensive messages). The Islamist regime of Iran is also using these to collect from surveys personal info on Israeli citizens.
Tumblr media
I wanna share with you this screenshot from the article, as a reminder that just because someone says online that they're Jewish, or puts "Jewish" in their account name, doesn't make it so.
Tumblr media
The chief rabbi of South Africa, Rabbi Warren Goldstein, in protest of his country's decision to file a false lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice, has changed the customary prayer for the well being of the country. He said: "This government is on the wrong side of history. Its support of Iran and its proxies - Hamas and Hezbollah - encourages a global Jihad, and harms Jews and innocent people worldwide. It's impossible to pray for such a government."
Tumblr media
This is 36 years old Osama Abu Assa.
Tumblr media
He was a Bedouin, from the village of Tel Sheva. On Oct 7, he was at the Nova music festival, and one of about 367 people who were murdered there. I got to hear several people talking about what a huge heart Osama had, how he was all about giving to others and helping people. May his memory be a blessing.

… I can’t imagine that we actually watched the same show. Like I REALLY AISNSOSNWKMEJDND
hold on I’m gonna need to calm down.
Let me just make a list of why I disagree and at least organize my anger. Long post incoming.
Vander was friends and had a deal with Grayson. The sheriff. Idk what else to even add to that
Caitlyn is more than a cop and Arcane isn’t copaganda. Genuinely don’t know what kind of progress some of these people are looking for. Real allies are a necessity for real progress.
SILCO IS A CLASS TRAITOR. HE FUNNELLED DRUGS INTO THE UNDERCITY AND PUT POOR KIDS IN FACTORIES FOR THAT DRUG FOR PROFIT!!! HE PAID THE ENFORCERS TO LET HIM DO IT WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE
Vi is not as much as an activist as you would like to believe
WHY IS EKKO NEVER EVER BROUGHT UP IN THESE CONVERSATIONS????
Silco was not good for the Undercity
Silco was not a great guy. Ekko had to build an entire separate hidden community for the people he hurt and stepped on for his own benefit
Caitlyn is ignorant and naive. That’s ok. That’s what character development is for.
Loving imperfect characters like Silco and Jinx then hating characters like Vi and Caitlyn is peak media illiteracy to me
FOR THE LAST TIME: VI DIDNT ABANDON POWDER!!!!! Silco literally wanted Vi DEAD for trying to stop him from killing Vander??? How could you possibly say silco was there for jinx when Vi refused to be???? SHE WAS IN PRISON BECAUSE OF HIM???
Silco’s manipulation is working wonders on y’all
Embracing all the outrage without at all looking out for the people harmed by bigotry is not activism
SILCO IS A CLASS TRAITOR x929282929394
Caitlyn was the first person in years to show Vi kindness and care. She listened and stuck by her and took care of her after Vi was locked up for years and beat up by cops (i wonder what led her to be thrown in there?). Cait being a cop stopped being a point of contention once Vi recognized her naivety and genuineness.
NUANCE NUANCE NUANCE. ITS NEVER EVER BLACK AND WHITE
The only way I can see Vi touching ‘class traitor’ in season one was the shimmer raid. Guess who the hell put those kids in there in the first place.
Just hanging out with Caitlyn isn’t being a class traitor if Vander’s allowed to be friends with Grayson.
Critical thinking is very necessary for watching shows like Arcane
What the hell did Silco really do for the Undercity???? What changed over the 7(ish) years he was basically in power of the place? All I’ve heard was he made the air cleaner, which would be great except for, you know, shimmer and the child factory workers
Jinx is unwell and feeding into it like this in a fully serious manor would not help Arcane as a show at all
What do you want Arcane’s message as a full show to be? ‘Screw cops’? That’s a little boring and unproductive isn’t it?
CAN WE TALK ABOUT EKKO AND HIS IMPACT PLEASE???? x9382728283
Caitlyn is trying to make Piltover and Zaun a better place. Is that not allowed? Am I missing something?
Caitlyn and Vi’s arcs have only just started. Season one is basically fully set up except for characters like silco and Jinx. This is far from the end.
Genuinely think Vander would appreciate Vi for being friends (using this term loosely because they are in love) with Caitlyn considering he was the one who was opposed to war and Vi wasn’t.
Silco should NOT be your idea of Undercity independence and respect. He oppressed the Undercity the same way the Council and the Enforcers did. He helped no one but himself, his team (barely) and Jinx.
You’re allowed to like and dislike any character you want but pretending like Silco is better for the Undercity than others is just so ridiculous to me. Everyone is of course completely allowed to like Silco, but we can’t pretend like he’s this stand up guy. If you have to pretend like he was, maybe you don’t like him as much as you think.
“Because Cait’s pretty” is also incredibly incorrect. Go check point #14.
Vi never stopped loving and caring for Powder. Powder’s mental health issues were amplified and utilized by Silco because he couldn’t even heal himself.
If all of your opinions of Caitlyn and Vi start and end with “cops suck” and “class traitor” then you genuinely don’t respect Arcane as a show enough to show you nuance.
The misinterpretation of characters is just so … it’s like you go out of your way to love and/or hate characters no matter how much they show you who you are.
Your closed mindedness is clouding your judgement and making you out to seem like you don’t actually want the Undercity’s triumph, you want Silco and Jinx’s, even if it means ruining the Undercity. And that would be fine because father/daughter evil duo but trying to say you’re all for this duo because you want what’s better for the Undercity when they continue to hurt it is simply not correct and very harmful (to fictional characters in a fictional universe 😭)
Only being able to understand how Silco and Jinx were oppressed and therefore should be able to not just destroy Piltover but also Zaun is not the eat you think it is
Why is Viktor never called a class traitor? I think he's great (I also think Silco and Jinx are wonderfully written) but we hardly saw him in the Undercity/ interact with people from the Undercity plus he killed someone (Sky) from there (accidentally)
EDIT TO ADD ANOTHER POINT: Caitlyn has shown little to NO malicious intent and has no real negative impacts other than Jinx’s attachment issues and insecurities being amplified by her mere existence. Again, this is her story and development. Throughout the season she is exposed to reality and recognizes her and her peers/ families wrongs. I have no idea what you want from this character. Should Piltover just be gotten rid of in the story? Then what? Should Caitlyn have just never gotten involved and continued to embrace her privilege? Should she have left Vi in prison and stay ignorant?

Would I be the asshole for asking my suicidal girlfriend not to vent with me? First ask here, be warned for heavy topics about the above situation. Putting an emoji for easy finding. 🦐
I am a polyamorous person (22nb) with my long distance girlfriend (22f) of about 1 year. I love her deeply, and we have known each other for a long time when I used to go to school in person with her. I also have an in person queer platonic partner (22nb) who lives with me currently and has been with me for about 3 years. Both of my partners are suicidal and self harm, though the partner who is living with me has luckily seemed to improve a lot through being able to spend time with someone who cares for them constantly. My girlfriend...sadly has not gotten the same chance, since she moved long before we got together and has only her family to keep her stable (who have proven before this point that they are pretty terrible support systems, when they actively encouraged her self harming to become worse).
Luckily, I have had this rodeo before due to a majority of my friends struggling with this sort of problem, and when she began saying things in my dms that pointed towards depression and suicidality, I was quick to try to help her get into therapy. Whether or not this therapist is really the best is sort of iffy, as the therapist hasn't worked with her on a lot despite over a month of them working together, so...she hasn't gotten much work towards helping to change things and has felt somewhat stuck. I know she needs to probably get a new therapist, but due to not having insurance at the moment it's not an easy situation to just change. Since things have not gotten to improve, she...has still felt horrible most days will come to me in DMs to tell me how bad it is. Which, you know, should be fine, but it's the *way* she talks about it-- it's in a very vent heavy, far too much triggering information, Everything Is Horrible and there is no way to fix it and I should Die, way.
I have learned boundaries in regards to my own mental health due to just how often I have encountered things, and luckily, my other partner is great about it! They don't talk about their issues with suicidality all that much which can make me worried at times, but when they *do*, it's very much a situation of them bringing up how they feel and then us moving forwards to do something distracting or something that will help them. Instead of an info dump of Horrible Information That Makes Me Fear For Their Life, it's just. Moving to make sure they're doing better and changing things, identifying why certain feelings are feeling bad. But with my girlfriend, these topics come on suddenly without warning, are spoken in such a way that I feel like 1. I can't move on or change anything to help 2. I don't have a way to respond that will end up doing anything but make her feel worse. I feel at a complete loss of how to handle these things that she's just throwing on me. I haven't mentioned yet to her how bad these ventings make me feel because I'm worried it would make her internalize it and worsen her issues, though I know I do probably need to communicate it with her. I feel that she may just not be quite as mature as my other partner in how to handle feelings like this yet(most likely due to lack of support systems), and I WANT her to be able to talk about her feelings. I'm her girlfriend, after all, a little bit of emotional labor is always going to be a part of supporting people that close to you. Just...not in a way that will end up ultimately making both me and her feel like shit, and get her in a worse direction than before.
She eventually will be moving in with us next year, and I am wondering if I should try to wait to talk about it until then when she has more of a support to lean against, or should I try to figure it out right now. Right now could leave her...hurt and much more vulnerable, which would be a real risk considering the scenario. Would I be the asshole for telling her that she needs to work on how she talks about these topics, and that I can't have her continuing to put her emotions on me like this?
What are these acronyms?

TW bipolar discussion and nonconsensual kissing, mental health discussion
So about Saturn Girl kissing Jon without his ability to consent to it: I get that she isn't actively deciding to mind control the people around her, but she does have a choice in the matter. Her family wanted her to stay home until she could control her mind control powers, but she didn't want to and left. To me that's like if I noticed I was manic (not hypomanic) and didn't go to the mental hospital... Like I can't control my bipolar but I have the choice to stay away from others when it would harm them. That's not even a good comparison though because my judgement isn't clear enough to consistently do that when I'm manic, whereas she is at baseline and is able to think rationally. I wouldn't blame someone with bipolar because they have no choice, but I'm just saying the obvious choice would be to keep yourself away from others even if it's not fun for you. I feel like I can blame her, because she has a choice.
I do sympathize with her, but I really think she's hurting others disproportionately to the distress she feels stuck at home, and that's not okay.
If you look back on the events with the knowledge that she can't turn off her mind control, you see how manipulative she is, especially to Jon, and she does high-control group tactics: love bombing, isolation, guilt tripping, not letting him have rest alone where he would have time to realize he didn't want this.
I don't like the JonDami narrative that Jon was an asshole for leaving Damian in the past or was running away from his problems, because in my view he was dragged into a cult and I can't blame him for that, especially because he was extremely vulnerable at the time. I also don't believe Jon would have left in the first place if he knew up front that he couldn't bring Damian to at least visit him.
Jon had been in a state of fight or flight for around 6 years (not just talking about the volcano because there was also his verbally abusive grandpa and their deadly adventures and being trapped in space, and then him struggling to survive on the streets and trying to find a way home after he escaped) and the first time he really got a chance to cool down was when he was talking with Damian. He really needs a long break, therapy, and medication because what he went through can't be treated with therapy alone as the stress has chemical effects in the brain that need to be adjusted.
The writers don't care about how Jon should be extremely hypervigilant and defensive and anxious. I guess that's just not brave enough for a superhero, nevermind that leaving the house and getting treatment for these things, learning to trust again, and letting people help you is so much braver than punching guys when you have superpowers. It's natural to fight when your fight or flight is activated in a protective manner, but doing the logical thing when every signal in your body is telling you not to is really damn hard. The only coward is DC for giving Jon trauma and not actually writing a traumatized character.
That all being said, Damian clearly doesn't see how Jon is being manipulated, probably because his head is full of self hatred & doubting & repressed desires to ask Jon to stay, and thinks he needs to go against his abandonment trauma by swinging the pendulum too far in the opposite direction in his speech. With his c-ptsd and abandonment issues I can see him becoming bitter towards Jon for going to the future.
That could make for a really complex fanfiction, don't you think? The conflict coming from their unique life experiences and traumas, and them learning to understand each other like they're always doing. This misunderstanding of intentions born not out of something dumb like hearing the wrong thing or being unclear in language, but from their different points of view.
My jondami au where Jon leaves the legion early is calling me lmao "Isaac we have more problems for you to fix~"
That being said I have no exclusivity to these ideas for writing.

i feel like your ocs would have amazing aita posts
oh definitely. in fact here's a sample for you.
Annie: "AITA for constructing a moral framework based on my belief that I am a character in a cosmic horror setting where my knowledge of the horrors makes me a target and thus I must do whatever it takes to survive (NOTE: I have justified the ruination of the lives of hundreds of people thanks to this worldview, but in my defence most of them had the potential to kill me even if they weren't actively trying to do so)"
also "WIBTA if I were to wander the earth leaving a trail of destruction in my wake until someone puts me out of my misery because my boyfriend died"
Lincoln: "AITA for continuing to pursue my passion of making music even though it compels people to kill each other (btw my new album is now available for pre-order!)"
Samara: "AITA for helming a highly dangerous expedition to the Arctic despite my lack of experience in this regard in order to prove to my father that I'm worthy of inheriting his company"
Nicky: "AITA for becoming a tool of the state in the fight to prevent angels and demons from abusing or destroying humanity for extremely personal revenge quest reasons (I do torture people for information as part of my job)"
Eddie: "AITA for placing myself intentionally in high-risk situations to spite my overbearing sister (regardless of your verdict I will be continuing)"
Logan: "AITA for tying my loyalty to whoever I perceive to be the most capable of protecting me from harm at any given time and doing whatever they ask of me unconditionally"
Fen: "AITA for letting people drown if they don't pay me to ferry them across the marshland which I am a physical manifestation of"
The Radio Host: actually i'm not even gonna try to write one for him he's a genocidal dictator who wants to turn the universe into its personal surveillance state
Dante: "AITA for running away from home to play a game that could kill me because I didn't want to talk to my parents about my mental health and also being a nepo baby I guess"
Maja: "WIBTA if I just lay down and gave up while my team are waiting for me to bring back help and rescue"
Pentifer: "AITA for killing innocent people so I can use their corpses as puppets to get close to my assassination targets if I was abused by my creator until I became hateful and cruel and now have no reason to trust that anyone will treat me differently when I'm widely feared and considered an abomination"
Jocelyn: "AITA for being an opportunistic cult leader who eats people and turns them into cocoons for spiders if I was raised to believe I have no choice in the matter"
Ram: "AITA for dying so badly that it was the catalyst of the problems for everyone around me"
Radi: "AITA for being unable to fall in love with the person who loved the person I was before her personality and memories were forcibly erased and I was born from the ashes of her destruction"

and how to banish demons and trickster spirits?? 🥲 please help thank you
How to spiritually protect your home from unfamiliar entities 👻
Tumblr media
When faced with paranormal activity, it can be scary for anyone! We start to question ourselves and feeling silly thinking: "Did I really just see that?! No, no, it my must be my imagination..." but you still can't shake the feeling something is there in your room.
How to decipher between a high or low vibrational entity
Tumblr media
Every spirit takes form in a different shape and color. I am unsure what it means but I have seen just about each one. So I will be giving each one a name for it. A fair warning though to use your intuition because my interaction with each spirit could be different from yours. Always use caution.
The in-between:
This spirit is mainly gray and fuzzy but has a rainbow outline. Similar to a broken TV. I believe these spirits are going through a period of healing and transformation. They are more neutral with their approach but overall have good intentions.
Holier than thou:
This spirit looks pure white. It's just a plain white or almost milky translucent color, they are typically friendly. If they are white, but look like it's sparkling or shining, it is a low vibrational entity or demon trying to pose as a angel.
Peekaboo:
The ones that appear in the corner of your eye or when you feel a presence randomly pass by. This is the most famous type of spirit that everyone has said they have come across. They come as shadows and are quick on their feet. They are black in color and their origins I am unsure, but they haven't bothered me per say. They startle me though, so because of how they sneak around. I mainly believe that they are trickster spirits.
Fairy lights (also known as orbs):
Orbs of light are considered to be a manifestation of energy present in your home. I have interacted with this type of spirit the least. When I first began doing deity worship with Aphrodite, I would see pink orbs, and that is how I knew she was present when I prayed to her or asked her for guidance. I have also seen orbs when interacting with archangels.
Faders:
These spirits fade in and disappear once they get what they want. They usually appear with a message and then leave once they're done. They can be pretty lonely, so sometimes they just like your company. I went to a garden memorial once and I had a spirit follow me home just so they could spend time with me. They left after two days.
Angels:
I feel that most of the time my interaction with an angel was presented as a human. You ever had someone that just was really sweet and kind to you in when you were having a really rough day? Yeah I mean that. Those feel like angels to me. Archangels I view them as orbs.
Demons:
*cracks knuckles* the moment you've all been waiting for. Now these are masters of disguise. Demons present themselves as anything or anyone just to get closer to you. Whether that's a living human being, an attractive person in your dream who sexually arouses you (incubus/succubus), or a monster who keep causing you to have nightmares in your sleep. Their main desire is to suck your life source and take over your soul at your weakest moment or make you do malicious things that are out of your character.
The different types of demons:
Tumblr media
Before we touch upon this topic, if you are someone who struggles with a mental health condition such as anxiety, PTSD, BPD, etc. Be aware that some of your symptoms could align with some of the things I will mention down below. You have to understand the difference of just being anxious/paranoid and genuinely having an encounter with an entity that's dangerous.
Creepers:
Creepers are literally what they are. They creep up on you quite randomly. They mostly appear in your dreams to scare you and cause you to have nightmares. In most cases, these ones are just annoying because they scare you out of your sleep, but the more severe ones can physically harm you. One time in middle school I had a nightmare of a demon wanting to attack me in my sleep and I woke up with scratches on my back that were bright red. Nobody else was there in my room that night to have left scratches on me like that. Anyone of any age can deal with creepers but it is most common for children to come across them.
Hitmen:
A hitman is usually a demon that was sent by someone who has given you the evil eye or decided to hex you or wish malicious things onto you. This is scary for most people to experience because you can't tell if you're going crazy or genuinely feel an attack on your peace of mind. A sign of a spiritual attack is when you are around someone and suddenly that person gives you a bad vibe, you start to feel physically ill or energetically drained. Intuitively, you should know when you feel unsettled by a negative entity.
Inner demons:
You guessed it. Demons that come from you. We all have our own inner demons that manifest from a place of pain, envy, anger, bitterness, or hatred. They are the ones who stick with us through our darkest times. Inner demons have a codependent relationship with us. It's almost as if being with a narcissist. Instead of helping you, they enjoy that you are helpless so they can stay with you longer. They conveniently appear or come around during severe periods of depression. Since it is a inner demon and not a hitman demon, you have to learn to forgive yourself for the manifestation of this entity, since it has come from you. Instead of fighting them or being angry with them, allow them to be set free. Wish healing for them as well, since it was not their fault they were born out of agony. They may come and go, but they should know their place from now on. For witches, these demons could be at your service for more baneful magick if anyone decides to fuck with you 🤫
How to deal with negative entities and banish them from your sacred space:
Tumblr media
Ultimately, it comes down to being brave and asserting your dominace. Let these entities know that they cannot and will not fuck with you from this day on. When they know you are a pushover, they will just keep messing with you. Scare them like how they scare you. Here are some different methods you could use to banish these entities from your home.
Clean up your act 🧹:
Tumblr media
Have you ever felt the strong urge to clean your house after being in a funk? That's right! Cleaning is one of the most popular ways of getting rid of low vibrational energy and to invite new energy into your home. I mean what's a witch without her broom right?
Mainly dusting, sweeping, mopping, wiping windows/mirrors, and vacuuming could be done for banishing negative energy/entities
You can chant while sweeping away from yourself, you can make this up on your own so it can be more fitting for you and you can memorize it more easily
Florida Water is considered one of the holy grails and can be bought at any local botanica or even online. It is a cologne that is famous for its magical properties and multi-purposes. You can pour Florida Water into the bucket of water that you use for mopping 🪣
Cleaning products that have magical ingredients (I.E: Lemon / lemon scent is a popular tool for spiritual cleansing)
Pillow sprays, febreeze, essential oils, or room deodorizers are a cheap and easy way to cleanse your home (Lavender pillow spray can be sprayed around your house and on your bed sheets or curtains for peace and tranquility. It is also a refreshing scent and helps you sleep better 😊!)
Boiling a concoction is another method you can use (ever wondered what was in those witches' cauldrons?). Most people boil bay leaves, rosemary leaves, or cinnamon
If you are pregnant or someone sensitive to chemicals or smells, you can use crushed eggshells or pour salt in the corners of your home, window sills, and doors🚪
Plants and crystals can be used as protection wards for your home. You can put them anywhere that you prefer.
Other popular methods for protection spells are spell jars, mojo bags (hoodoo, closed practice), enchanting a necklace or piece of jewelry to wear as a tailsman/amulet, or egg cleanse (common method in Latin American culture).
Team up:
Tumblr media
There's nobody who will be down to protect you more than yourself than your spirit guides. Simply calling upon your ancestors (who wish you good intentions ofc), guardian angels, animal guide, or deity should be enough to protect you in moments of fear and feeling unsafe. Remember to show appreciate to them and give them offerings for their assistance. They cannot consistently be there for you if their energy source is low (especially ancestors!).
Remember that you are loved 🤍:
Tumblr media
Experiencing the evil eye or a spiritual attack can be scary for just about anybody 🥺! Just remember that the situation is temporary and there is always going to people out there who love you and wish for your happiness (including your higher self). Paranormal activity is a weird but interesting thing many people in their lifetime have come across, so you don't have to feel alone. I hope this was of help to you and that you feel better about being able to protect yourself 😇

you say i can like a characters and acknowledge their flaws. Okey, did you acknowledge Kate and anthonies flaws???
What's y'all's obsession with Kate and Anthony? Genuinely asking here because some of the anons I've gotten have been saying absolutely vile things about Kate and Simone Ashley, which I refuse to post or give the time of day.
But anyways, I have been critical of Anthony before, particularly of how he handled the "love triangle" in season 2. I also hated his treatment of Sienna in season 1. I can acknowledge that his and Sienna's relationship was an important arc for his character, how ever much I hated his treatment of her. She deserved better. Additionally, a certain section of the fandom has to check their misogyny because the language used to talk about her is absolutely vile - and beyond hypocritical when compared to how the same people talk about Anthony.
Kate was mishandled by the writers. Full stop. The changes from the book were most detrimental to her and Edwina. I think Simone did amazing with what she was given, but they took out so much of Kate's development from the book. Most of my gripes with show!Kate are just frustration with writing decisions.
A lot of the writing decisions in general are just tone deaf. There's been a lot of rightful criticism on how the show has handled its bipoc representation. How Ruby Barker was treated in real life by netflix and the producers was disgusting. The way they've treated both her and her character has been vile. I hope to god her story in the show does not end the way it did in the books because that would be beyond horrific. If you're going to tell stories involving mental health issues, do so respectfully and responsibly. Otherwise, don't do it at all, because you're just doing more harm than good. Additionally, we've only had two minor queer characters for a show that prides itself on its representation. And those characters only appear in season 1. I'm not counting Brimsley because he only got proper characterization and arc in QC, and we have literally no clue where Reynolds is in the present timeline. And, while I enjoyed QC on the whole, the romanticization of Queen Victoria's birth as some sort of win for feminism took me out of the fantasy every single time. I'm not expecting the show to be historically accurate at all, the costuming confirmed to me that it wasn't trying to be back in season 1 and thats ok because its fantasy, but my god the way they include elements of real life history is beyond tone deaf.
Penelope herself was also mishandled by the writers. By making lady whistledown a far more active force in the show, they did not take into consideration what that would mean for her as a character. In the books, the Bridgertons react to the LW reveal like "oh OK, ride on Pen!" because LW hasn't been as destructive a force as she's been in the show. In the show, it makes no sense for them to react like that given what's been written about them and the impact that its had. LW, in the books, was far less harmful. By giving it a more active role in the story, they've unwittingly made her an antagonist because of the harm she's caused. Harm, I may add, that she's been mostly apathetic to. Show!Penelope needs a redemption arc, but she's probably not going to get one.

Christmas Miracles | Tee Higgins
Kinzi’s 25 Days of Christmas: Blogmas Day Five
Summary: In which Tee and Y/N have been trying for a baby and they receive a Christmas miracle.
Pairing(s): Tee Higgins x Wife! Reader
Warning(s): mentions of pregnancy, mentions of trouble conceiving, mentions of morning sickness and puking.
Tumblr media
The snow fell slightly in the city of Cincinatti, it was around two weeks until Christmas and Y/N had woken up in her and Tee's house alone. She knew that he had early practice, and he would be home later at a decent time. Usually, Y/N would become very active while Tee was at work and get everything on her to-do list done. However, today that was far from the case.
When she woke up, she had felt sick to her stomach. She wasn't sure what would make her feel so sick, but she was hoping eating would improve her nausea. After fixing breakfast, she started washing her dishes before the wave of nausea hit her and she went running towards her master bathroom. Everything in her stomach was emptied into the toilet before she flushed and decided to take a shower to feel better.
While she waited for the shower to get warm, she picked up her phone and texted her friend, Olivia. She had met the girl when she was introduced to her boyfriend's team, when they, tee and Joe, had both got drafted.
"Hey, can you come over and bring me some ginger ale? My stomach hasn't felt the best." Y/N reread her message before hitting send and jumping in the shower. She knew that Olivia didn't work today so she was sure that the girl would head on over, especially since Joe was at practice with Tee.
Y/N went ahead and took her shower and was hoping for the best. That was until she got out and felt a bit faint. She had wrapped herself in a bath towel and her robe before sinking down to the bathroom floor, sitting on the bathtub rug.
"Hey, you didn't answer the door so I let myself in-" Olivia's voice broke through the room before her eyes widen and she rushed to her friend's side. "Are you okay? What happened?"
Y/N blinked a few times, hoping the feeling would go away. "I thought I was going to pass out." she spoke honestly before looking at her friend.
Olivia thought for a moment, she knew that Y/N had mentioned that she wanted a baby, and she had mentioned that they were actively trying. Tee and Y/N had an appointment to meet with a fertility specialist next month to see if there was anything to help them become successful in their trying.
"I know you don't want to hear this," Olivia started thinking of the way she could suggest it without being insensitive to her. She knew that it would hurt her if she took the test, and it was negative. "Maybe you should take a test? Just to make sure you aren't pregnant..."
Y/N's head shot up when her friend made that suggestion. She would love if she was pregnant and that would be a perfect gift for Tee, but she also knew it would harm her mental health if the test was negative. "There's no way. We've been trying for over a year and haven't been successful." she muttered, her fainting feeling slowly going away.
"Gracie told you that she felt like this before she found out." Olivia reasoned before going to the double sinks in the master bathroom and pulling out a pregnancy test that Y/N had stuffed in the back of the shelf. "Please, just to make sure you're fine."
Y/N sighed but gave in and grabbed the test. Olivia helped her stand before seeing her way out and waiting in the couple's bedroom for the girl to get done. Y/N did what needed to be done and laid the test on the bathroom sink before washing her hands. "This is a bad idea!" she yelled through the door to the future Mrs. Burrow.
"Are you okay?" Olivia asked concerned when she could hear the anxiety in the girl's voice. She knew that it would be a breakdown if the test was negative, but the girl needed to know before she went to any more parties. "Has it formed yet?"
In the bathroom, Y/N's hand covered her mouth as tears formed in her eyes. the two pink lines were super dark on the stick that she was holding in her hands. The tears fell freely as she let out a small laugh in disbelief before letting a grin overtake her face. She was currently carrying Tee's baby and she could not be any happier.
"It's positive." Y/N said as she opened the bathroom door. Happy tears still flowing freely. "It finally happened."
Olivia gave the girl a wide smile, happy for one of her best friend's to be taking this next step in her life. "We should go buy a few things and let you announce it to Tee tonight." Olivia suggested.
Y/N agreed and off they went to go get some things to make an announcement for Tee. She was planning on beating him home, so she could get everything set up.
When Burrow texted Olivia saying that he would be leaving the stadium within five minutes, the girls booked it back to Tee and Y/N's house so she could set up the surprise for him.
"Thank you for everything." Y/N told Olivia as the girl bid her farewell and left to head back home so she would not risk running into Tee. Y/N quickly fixed the present and laid the white box with a black satin ribbon on the foot of the bed. She knew now that it was a waiting game.
Y/N waited for about 20 minutes before she heard the front door open and Tee's sports bag being thrown by the door. She made her way down the stairs to greet her husband with a loving smile. "Hey, baby." She whispered as she wrapped her arms around him, his doing the same to her. "How was practice?"
"The usually." He mumbled before pressing his lips down on hers to greet her properly with a warm and caring kiss. "How was your day?"
Y/N shrugged, trying to play it cool but she was freaking out on the inside. "Fine. I invited Olivia over." she spoke softly, placing a quick kiss on Tee's cheek before separating from him. "What do you want for dinner? I was thinking we could order in, just for tonight?"
Tee's footsteps followed hers as they made their way through the house, "Anything you want. baby."
Y/N smiled before grabbing her phone and door dashing their favorite take out and paying for it. "Done." she smiled before turning her full attention back to Tee. "While we wait on food, I have a present for you."
Tee's eyebrows raised in shock as he followed Y/N towards their shared master bedroom. "Is it an early Christmas gift?"
Y/N thought for a moment, "You could call it that." She agreed before pushing open their bedroom door and urging him to go in and open his present. Y/N stepped forward to watch his reaction to what he was about to open.
He carefully took the ribbon off before opening the box up, he read the top and then look at the shirt and the stick in the box. "Are you-" He cut himself off not knowing if this was real life or not. He knew how sensitive of a subject it was to both of you. Y/N nodded so he would know that she was in fact pregnant. "I'm going to be a father?"
"Surprise." Y/N muttered almost shyly. "I just found out this morning and I couldn't wait to tell you because we have been wanting this for so long and-" Tee cut her off by pulling her close and placing his lips on hers.
"You have made me the happiest guy in the world." He spoke softly to not ruin the moment. "I want you to know that I will be there for you and our baby. No matter what, I'll always take care of you and make sure your needs are met. I love you two so much."
"We love you too."
again, this could have ended better, but I suck with endings. Maybe I will eventually get better at them. I sure hope so.

Hello! I enjoy your writing of Lucky Break and was wondering if your requests were open. If not Just wanted to stop by and say I enjoy your writing style and to keep it up!
If your requests are open would write something about the Straw hat's having a crew mate who is struggling with depression and (if you are okay with writing about this) suicidal thoughts?
I appreciate your time and effort into writing.
Before I get into this, I just want to remind anyone reading this that if you are struggling with depression and/or suicidal thoughts, you should confide in someone you can trust. Even if you feel like it's not that bad, it never hurts to have someone in your life that’s aware you're struggling with these things. I hope whoever requested this is doing well.
Warnings for discussions of depression and suicidal thoughts. Since this is such a heavy topic, I chose to leave out yandere themes from this.
Straw Hats x GN!Reader
This is a tight-knit crew with more than their fair share of trauma and emotional struggles, so it really won't take long for them to pick up on it. When one of them becomes aware, the others are soon to follow because they’re all quick to talk to each other about it. They’ll ask if anyone else noticed your behavior and discuss how to approach it.
Nami has a pretty high chance of noticing it first. Despite this, she is not the first to act on it. Not because she doesn’t care or anything, she’s extremely concerned, but she can admit she isn’t great with emotional stuff like this and she does NOT want to risk making this worse. She’ll confide in Robin, hoping that her cool and calm demeanor will be better suited to deal with this.
While she lets Robin handle that part of the issue, she does make her own efforts to improve your mood. Namely, retail therapy. Do you wanna go shopping? Well you’re going to anyway! Whatever you want, you’re getting it because she has no idea what else to do. She knows this isn’t enough to make your problems go away, but she hopes it’ll make your day at least a little better.
She also just kinda… lurks around you. Suddenly she goes from wanting complete silence and solitude while drafting sea charts to insisting that you must be with her. She’ll talk to you the whole time and explain the charts in extreme detail, trying to make you feel included. Nami also insists on having you sleep in her bed with her, making up an excuse that she’s been having nightmares. In reality, she’s scared you’re going to get up in the middle of the night and hurt yourself.
Robin, despite Nami’s faith in her, isn’t as equipped to talk with you as she would like to be. She’s prone to dealing with everything by herself, depending on others is very foreign. Her first course of action is to be around you more and make her own observations. She had her suspicions about your mental state, but now that she’s actively looking for the signs, she feels foolish to have not put it together sooner.
Her method for discussing your mental health is indirect. She pushes to have a book club with you and purposely chooses books that cover themes of depression. During your meetings, she really focuses on that aspect of the book, hoping that speaking generally on the topic would be enough to get you to open up on your own. She’s an excellent listener and will make you feel very loved and supported.
Similar to Nami, she also worries about you harming yourself at night. There’s a good chance she’ll wind up cramming herself into Nami’s bed with you too so that you’re in the middle. If you ask her why, she’ll say that she was feeling left out and wanted in on the slumber party you two were having.
Sanji feels more equipped to deal with this. He cares a lot about you, and also is likely to be the first to notice. As soon as he gets suspicious, he is gonna go out of his way to be around you and compliment you more. He’s also going to be making your favorite foods, but he’s going to rope you into making them with him. Partially as a means to keep an eye on you, and also a way to keep your mind occupied. He’ll also use it as a chance to talk to you and pick your brain a bit, but he won’t push it if you start to look uncomfortable.
If you do decide to open up, he will drop everything to listen. You could wake him up in the middle of the night and he’d spring out of bed to make some tea and a snack for your talk. He’s extremely understanding and talks through every issue in depth to try and get everything off your chest. He’s distraught to hear about your suicidal thoughts, but sadly does get it. He makes you promise to come talk to him any time you want, and will get up to check on you several times a night if you aren’t in the same room as him.
He’s responsible for clueing in the other guys to your troubles. As much as he hates to air out your dirty laundry, the possibility that you could hurt yourself makes him realize that you need as many eyes on you as possible right now.
Zoro needed to be told the most. He just thought you were in a shitty mood, and may have made an insensitive comment on it accidentally. Sanji damn near caves his skull in when he hears this and drags him off somewhere to yell at him and explain what’s going on. Zoro genuinely feels bad and will apologize to you afterwards, and not because Sanji threatened him.
He doesn’t let you know that he’s aware of what’s going on, not having a single ounce of faith in himself to be able to talk about this stuff. You do notice that he tends to be around you more. Suddenly he becomes insistent on you training with him. Nothing too intense, just enough to get your blood pumping in hopes that the exercise will help your mood even a little. On top of that, you’re now his napping buddy, and there is no getting out of it. If he lays down on the deck to nap, he’ll grab you as you’re walking by to join him. If you try to slip away to sleep by yourself, he shows up and squeezes himself into your bed.
Usopp was already onto you, Sanji just confirmed it. He has experience dealing with these kinds of things from his time with Kaya, so helping you comes naturally to him. Like with Kaya, he’s constantly telling you the most absurd, comical stories he can come up with. He’s also encouraging you to do the same. Come on, you never know when you’re going to need to bullshit your way out of a situation! You should practice with the master now while you can! He tries to get you to hype yourself up in these tall tales too, hoping to trick you into a sort of fake it til you make it mentality.
He’ll also drag you into pulling pranks on your crewmates because laughter is the best medicine! Be warned though, he is going to hide behind you if y’all get caught because he knows that no one is going to get seriously upset with you right now. Even if you don’t understand it, he’ll try and show you how to make nifty little contraptions with him. Even if they don’t work, he’ll make light of it and work hard with you to make it functional so you can have something to be proud of.
Chopper kinda beats himself up about not piecing it together. He isn’t that kind of doctor and really hasn’t researched mental illnesses that much, and now he’s kicking himself for it. Chopper is, unlike the others so far, not subtle about why he’s suddenly all up in your business. He’ll ask point blank what’s bothering you and implore you to tell him everything so he can help. Just because he wasn’t super familiar with this before doesn’t mean he can’t figure it out. He spends all his free time reading up on depression so he can best treat it.
He wants to go somewhere with cherry blossoms, surely that will help you! He’ll show you pictures in the meantime, though. You struggling with suicidal thoughts stresses him the hell out, he’s constantly afraid that you’re going to hurt or sacrifice yourself. This leads to him following you around in any dangerous situations, just to make sure he’s there to stop you from making a bad decision. You can expect him to be sleeping in your bed for the foreseeable future.
Luffy didn’t need Sanji to tell him that you were struggling, but he did need a push to say something to you first. Luffy is far more observant than anyone gives him credit for and is very emotionally intelligent. He knew you needed help, but he just kinda assumed you would ask for that help on your own because that’s what he would do. The idea that you were planning to just suffer in silence is baffling to him. They’re all your friends, why wouldn’t you say something?
Like Chopper, he’s blunt and doesn’t beat around the bush. He wants to know what’s wrong because the sooner he knows, the sooner he can fix it! He’s convinced he can take care of whatever is bothering you, so when he hears you out and realizes your problems aren’t exactly punchable, he’s stumped. His next move is to ask everyone else what to do. This isn’t something he knows how to deal with but he wants to change that.
His form of help is an amalgamation of what everyone else does with his own twists on it. He’ll take you out for walks to explore whatever island you’re on this time, making you look at all kinds of new things and places. Admittedly, talking things out isn’t a talent of his, but he tries to listen and give his unique brand of advice. You think people don’t like you? That’s stupid. They all like you, and anyone who doesn’t like you doesn’t matter. Something is bothering you? Punch it! You can’t punch it? Punch something else and pretend you’re punching it! His response to like 95% of your problems is along the lines of ‘just don’t worry about it’.
The suicidal thoughts really throw him for a loop. He doesn’t know what to do besides just be extra clingy because this definitely sets off his abandonment issues something fierce to think that one day you might just not be there anymore because of yourself. You and Luffy are basically one entity now, good luck getting him to stop before he’s convinced you’re doing better. Anywhere you go, he goes too. The bathroom is not an exception. He’s like a dog with separation anxiety sitting outside the door and whining until you come out (he will panic and break down the door if you take too long or it sounds like you got hurt in there). Your bed is also his bed now. He doesn’t even ask if he can sleep there, you just wake up to him making himself comfortable in it, and then he never leaves. You can expect to wake up every morning to Luffy wrapped around you like a second blanket, holding onto you for dear life.
Overall, they worry a lot about you and will go out of their ways to make sure you’re okay. There’s going to be (at least) weekly sleepovers where everyone piles into one room to have a fun night hanging out together. They’ll make sure you know you have a loving found family with them.

Urgent Call to Oppose KOSA
(Update to this post, where I explain in more detail why KOSA is harmful, not helpful, to children)
On May 2, 2023, KOSA was re-introduced to Congress by its authors, Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). Though some of the wording has been modified slightly to be more specific as compared to the previous version of the bill, the most egregious and dangerous parts remain – namely, the fact that it will come down to state attorneys general to decide what content on social media sites does and does not “prevent and mitigate” outcomes like anxiety, depression, bullying, and more.
It’s important to be clear about how nebulous concepts like “bullying,” “anxiety,” and “depression,” are defined by the bill’s co-author, Sen. Blackburn, and how they will be similarly defined by other conservative politicians. Sen. Blackburn has a page on her website criticizing the “mental and emotional trauma” that “Critical Race Theory” causes white children. She states that “CRT actively encourages discrimination” and illustrates this claim with an anecdote of a racist mother “left with no choice but to put her seven-year-old in therapy” because her child was “depressed” by learning she was white. Using telling phrasing, Sen. Blackburn conveys her beliefs that education about racism makes “parents struggle to help their children manage the mental and emotional damage inflicted by this dangerous ideology” (bolding added). Tennessee’s governor has already signed a bill that withholds funding from any schools teaching about “systemic racism” and “white privilege.” If KOSA passes, Tennessee will be able to ban children from learning about racism not only in schools, but also on online platforms, by arguing that this content causes “mental and emotional damage” and “depression” in children. For Sen. Blackburn and other conservative politicians, any information about racism and queerness can be blamed for causing children “distress” and thus can be prohibited from children’s access.
If you are a U.S. citizen, please call and/or email your representatives and ask them to oppose KOSA. The EFF has a very simple form for doing so, with a pre-written template (ideally, alter some of the language to make the message your own). It is quick and easy, and it is important to do so now, because KOSA’s supporters want it to be pushed through Congress as quickly as possible. Please also urge the mental health and eating disorder organizations supporting KOSA (such as Project Heal, the Eating Disorder Coalition, and the National Alliance for Eating Disorders).
Children deserve to be truly protected. Not trapped, surveilled, and further harmed by their state governments.

Do u think Azula should’ve gotten a redemption arc? I know she’s one of ur favorites
i’m gonna answer this using “should’ve” as the key word. because no, i don’t think she should’ve gotten one. as in, i am not at all upset that she didn’t get one nor do i feel like her narrative was calling for it
the thing about redemption arcs is that they can fall really flat if the character themselves isn’t actively seeking to be better or being presented with reasons as to why their behavior is harmful, leading to them making several discoveries on their own. that’s what made zuko’s arc, at the very least, have substance. we’re shown that he values the life of others via certain flashbacks (the 41st division scene being the biggest one) and thus already possesses the inklings of questioning their father and his belief system. this makes it all the more believable when we see him have shocked and upset reactions upon seeing the destruction his family has caused. cause he understands death as a sacrifice and death as a punishment, and he’s a fan of neither. as his arc progresses, it is believable that he would eventually turn his back on his family and nation to resolve the atrocities of his ancestors
but what also made zuko’s arc so interesting and convincing was seeing azula’s arc mirroring his. they’re both troubled children who were forced into this war in the same way—seeking their father’s approval so desperately. they’ve both been let down by their parents to irredeemable lengths and are both victims of that neglect and abuse. and for awhile, this trauma manifests itself in very similar ways. zuko takes his task of finding the avatar very very seriously and we see how much of herself azula puts into her battles to achieve the fire nations ultimate goal of ruling the world. they both want the power, the honor, and acceptance from their father
but zuko was given the chance to see the world and witness firsthand the consequences of the fire nation’s colonialism through his exile. while azula was living in the palace, surrounded by the luxuries of their family’s evil, zuko was seeing the tragedies of it. this in combination with his already established questioning of his father’s battle moves made for a believable redemption. azula never appeared to possess that questioning of their father’s ideology—and we see that she ends up fully embracing it by the time she’s about 14 years of age—and was never fully exposed to their family’s damaging rule, and so her lack of remorse and overwhelming hunger for power makes sense. and thus their paths end up separating, with zuko no longer feeling as confident and loyal to his family and azula wanting nothing more than to become the leader of this regime so that she can oversee and dictate the expansion of the fire nation’s rule—her rule
but that trauma was still there for her. zuko was able to gain the confidence to confront it as he worked with the gaang and aided in ending the war. whereas azula’s trauma was heightened and triggered when she was sat at the footsteps of receiving the highest title in the fire nation. the power of the fire lord and the lack of nurture that she received—through which her trauma stems from—was her undoing. her ultimate goal—the goal that was piled onto her by her father and forefathers—was at her fingertips and it was just too much
and i do wish that the show and, more specifically, the comics handled her mental health better, but in terms of redemption, i don’t believe that’s needed. her arc does not have to be an exact copy of zuko’s where she sees the atrocities her and her family have committed and converts to the good side in order for it to be well-done. not every antagonist needs to have a coming to jesus moment in order for them to be loved by the audience or receive sympathy. because i think azula is very easy to sympathize with even without the redemption arc. and i think her character is all the more special because she doesn’t receive one. because that’s just life—sometimes the cruelest people have the saddest backstories and that doesn’t warrant them a redemption. it just makes them believable
so no, i don’t think she should have received a redemption. would i be upset if she did receive one? who’s to say. if it was done well and in a way that made sense specifically for her, then i’d loved to have seen it. but overall, i don’t think she was in need of a redemption. she had always fully embraced her father’s ideology and therefore a redemption during canon or post-canon would have felt like a stretch. azula is many things and a brilliant antagonist is one of them and that’s okay. she can stay an antagonist and i promise that doesn’t make her any less complex or interesting or sympathetic or human

Hi! Long time no yap but I've been really bothered by this thing and I know you're just the person I can go to with this (even if we don't always end up agreeing at times).
I got into a tiff with someone in a comments section of a post that was about Amy (Which character do you think deserved to become a villain? or something similar). They brought up Amy's abuse of her boyfriend. I may have tried to defend Amy (key word is tried. I am officially rubbish at debating) but then I may have said something? Because they said that I (and apparently a lot of other fans) was excusing Amy's abuse because of her trauma. It got me stumped because isn't young Amy's treatment of Rory rooted in her trauma? Did I miss the memo where we separate trauma and abuse? Am I missing something?
That statement bothered me a lot because if there's one thing I never want to do it's defend an abuser. So here I am, humbly asking and hoping to clear the muddy waters.
Your really confused and disturbed moot, Tia 💌
TIA!!!!! Thanks for the ask 💌 , and I send you all the hugs.
Discussion of abuse, trauma, ableism, infidelity, and unhealthy relationship dynamics beneath the cut.
(First off… while I really appreciate your faith in my explaining skills <3 <3 <3 my passion for traumatized characters and mentally ill+neurodivergent rights doesn't make me especially qualified to fully clear muddy waters especially not knowing the full context, but I feel you, and what follows is my informed perspective!)
Speaking generally first, harm done in media is best examined by the impact on the audience, with a different lens than harm done to real people. While relatable experiences in media can be useful and validating and incredibly important, you can’t be “defending an abuser” when the abuse is fictional. It's actually normal for traumatized/ND/mentally ill people to project onto mentally ill villains, when villains are the only significant representation for those stigmatized symptoms in a media landscape that excludes and demonizes us simply for existing. RTD can't stop people who hallucinate from reclaiming the Master's Drums and projecting onto the Master, for example — 90% of the best Doctor Who psychosis fic by psychotic authors is about the Master, whether RTD likes it or not. It's not true crime.
(This is speaking generally. Amy Pond is very much not the Master.)
Abuse is a behavior, and there can be many reasons for it, but reasons based in trauma don’t make it not abuse (some forms of generational trauma can propagate abusive parenting styles, when the parent thinks abusive parenting is normal, or lives entirely vicariously through their child). This absolutely should not be taken to mean trauma correlates with abusive behavior; rather that abusive behaviors from traumatized people are more likely to present in specific ways.
Abuse is also a targeted behavior, based in control — not consistently displayed C-PTSD symptoms as seen in Season 5 Amy Pond through many aspects of her life. Mental health symptoms don't become abuse just because they hinder one partner from meeting the other partner's needs. Any life event can do that.
Without knowing the context of the arguments, this is the aspect of their relationship I've seen you talk about before (which I also feel strongly about), and what I assume is what you were debating? So, here I will talk specifically in regard to Season 5.
We all know Amy — she's never attached to Leadworth because she never wanted to leave Scotland, no steady therapist because none of them stick up for her, can't stick with one job yet her first choice is a job that simulates intimacy because her avoidant behavior (a known trauma response) isn't sustainable to her wellbeing. Rory knows her fears of commitment stem from her repeated abandonments, it’s why he’ll always wait for her, and it's why he blames the Doctor “You make it so they don't want to let you down.”, who apart from having caused a lot of her trauma, has actively taken advantage of her being the “Scottish girl in the English village” who's “still got that accent,” because he wants to feel important, so yeah, I think interpreting Amy's issues (and how Amy and Rory transverse them) as Amy abusing Rory indicates a fundamental misunderstanding of their relationship, as well as a misunderstanding of the (raggedy) Doctor’s role in Amy’s formative self-image (which of course she works through in Season 6, but I am sticking to Season 5).
Abuse is always based in control. That just doesn’t fit here. While Amy's detachment from her real life includes things like calling Rory her “kind of boyfriend” (which she is upfront about to his face; differing commitment levels isn't abuse, though it can be a relationship red flag for both parties IRL) — her Season 5 disregard of Rory’s feelings occurs only in response to the fairytale embodiment of her trauma. It's never a response to Rory; it's a response to the Doctor, who stole her childhood and led her by the hand to her death. She cheats on Rory with the Doctor in her bedroom full of Doctor toys, drawings, models, she made from childhood to early adulthood.
(And yes, like many repeatedly-traumatized people, Amy is prone to being sensitive and reactive. Take her “Well, shut up then!” line in The Big Bang; but given Rory responds to this by hugging her, clearly he doesn’t take it as her actually dismissing him. He knows her better than that.)
And by no means do I meant to imply this is fair to young Rory, poor Rory, who's left struggling with the feeling that his role in her life is in competition with the role of her trauma (aka the Doctor). But not every unhealthy relationship dynamic is unhealthy because of abuse. Labelling Amy's treatment of Rory in Season 5 more accurately isn't the same as excusing her harmful choices — but making mistakes is part of being human, Amy's mistakes are certainly understandable, and she works through them out of love for Rory.
If there's one thing to say about Moffat women, it's that Moffat allows his female characters the same grace that the male characters *coughTENcough* have always had, to hurt and struggle and make realistic mistakes and overcome those mistakes and to heal without being demonized.
Amy isn't perfect, but she is a fully realized character, and her story gives us a resonant depiction of childhood trauma.
#abuse#rtd critical#anti rtd#im NOT really anti rtd but im tagging it that because some people block that tag and uhhhh this post strays into rtd critique#maybe he does regret how he wrote the master! we'll never know because rtd is very anti-admitting-his-own-mistakes#words by seaweed#anyways tia i am. SO relieved you’re not upset with me about our last disagreement?#i high key jumped to conclusions after the lack of reply to the last DM? so thank you for this ask it's great to hear from you#sorry you were in a debate about this! that sounds extremely awful.#anyway i'm gonna WAIT at least a week to tag Amy and Rory to avoid this showing up in the character tags right away haha#because I am KINDA scared the anti-media-literacy ppl will find this (I had to include the first part tho its important)#(lack of distinction between harm to audience *in fiction* and irl harm *to actual ppl* leads to problematic public apologies where-#-public figures apologize to fans they let down *instead* of the people they actually hurt. no it doesn't work like that)#(parasocial relationships are not more important than real victims agency or privacy)#editing to say..... yanno what? ive come to terms with not all the posts with the following tag been about the doctor#and I am planning to make a post at some point about the nd aspects of Amy+the Doctor's connection which this stuff IS relevant to soooooo#(eleventh) doctor is neurodivergent tag#editing again to add character tags:#Amy pond#Rory williams
