Scottish physician Ian Donald was born on December 27th 1910.

There are differing versions of Ian Donald’s birthplace, one gives it a Cornwall, another vaguely states Scotland. The last time I posted about the man Wiki was non committal and just gave his date of birth, it now says Cornwall .

Anyway his ancestry is beyond doubt, he was born to John Donald and Helen née Barrow Wilson in 1910. His father was a general practitioner who came from a Paisley family who were immersed in the medical profession.

No matter where he was born Ian Donald’s education was firmly Scottishhe attended Warriston School in Moffat and Fettes College in Edinburgh, following this the family move to South Africa where he graduated BA from the Diocesan College in Cape Town. He then studied medicine and was awarded MB BS at London University in 1937. During 1942-1946 he served as a medical officer in the RAFVR; was mentioned in dispatches and awarded the MBE for rescuing airmen from a burning aircraft. He is considered a Scot though, so we’ll claim him.

So apart from being a brave guy what else has he done? Well during his wartime service he became interested in radar and and sonar technology and with this in mind he worked with T G Brown of the the scientific instrument makers Kelvin & Hughes to create the first diagnostic ultrasound machine, and in 1958, with Brown and John MacVicar, he published his findings in The Lancet. Donald’s idea of using ultrasound to diagnose humans was ridiculed. However, after a large ovarian cyst was diagnosed in a female patient, practitioners took the technology seriously.

He was involved in the planning and design of the Queen Mother’s Hospital in Glasgow, which opened in 1964 and was Regis Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Glasgow University, from 1954 to 1976.

In honour of Professor Ian Donald, Professor Asim Kurjak founded the Ian Donald Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 1981. It is one of the world’s largest school of medical ultrasound and each year many celebrated students come through their advanced courses in medical ultrasonography.

And in recognition of his pioneering work in Ultrasound, an Ian Donald Gold Medal was awarded each year by the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to the person whose pioneering work is considered to have the most profound influence in the development of Obstetrical and Gynecological ultrasonography.

It started out innocently enough; Canterlot High's boldest and brightest working on a special Senior Project as one last feather in their cap and improving relations between the human and pony worlds. "Relations" wasn't supposed to be quite this literal, though, and that everyone ended up where they were in her office with the best of intentions only brought to mind the old phrase, "The road to Hell..."

It's raunchy, it's lewd, it's suggestive, it implies SO much without ever being explicit, and I wrote it in about 20 minutes late one night when I was supposed to be asleep and getting ready for work the next day. Imagine my surprise when Sporktacles suggested I post it as a sequel!

Also imagine my surprise when someone wrote a sequel to my sequel:

Sunset Shimmer has been here before and will be here again. It's almost becoming a habit. The mind altering substances and carnal relations during an event in Equestria got out of hand, and now Celestia is extremely pissed off at her. But this time it's Principal Celestia, and maybe that will make all the difference. Maybe this time she can come out on top. Sure, she's in the principal's office with her six closest friends and their inter-dimensional duplicates, sure this time there were five people, three humans and two ponies, left pregnant, sure all of these bombs are being dropped one week away from graduation, but this time is Sunset Shimmers moment to shine.

Written by chris the cynic and fully authorized by both me and Sporktacles, this entry is far less 'naughty' than any other entry in the series but still fits in nicely with the theme.

Getting back to "Consequences" for a moment; there was a comment left on the story very shortly after I published it out, Noctis Prism left the following comment:

And that kinda lodged in my brain, like a horse keeping me in college, and a year later this fell out:

In which a certain draconaquus discovers that there is, indeed, a point at which it is possible to take chaos too far.

Once again raunchy, once again edging (heh) so close to explicit the old citrus scale would have this in the "limon" category, it nonetheless was wildly popular and rocketted up into the feature box within 24 hours of being published.

(Oh, if you're not familiar with FiMFiction.net, it has a 'Feature Box' where noteable stories pop up. It's algorithmically generated and the secret sauce has been explained but still remains somewhat opaque how you get there. You have to have a certain number of new readers with a certain number of "thumbs up" and a certain number of "added to shelf" actions happen to your story in a certain time period, and if that doesn't happen within 24 hours, your story is likely to never see the feature box. I've had 7 of my 11 stories on FiMFiction hit the feature box. It's glorious when it happens!)

LIFE AS A PAULINIAN STUDENT

What makes college so hard for me?

Unlike for when I'm in high school. I don't thrive for higher grades but I thrive for passing grades now that I am in college. The level of college is not really easy. It's fast pace that I somehow felt far behind if I skip even just a single step. It's meticulous.

College courses are far more extensive, difficult, and time-consuming. Outside of class, college classes frequently demand us students to perform more reading and homework than high school classes. One truth is that reporting is one of my weaknesses - the prolonged anxiety I felt is surreal whenever I am grouped in the last group, it felt like waiting for my verdict.

The number of classes you will take, your major, the college you will attend, your very own effort and your passion to continue are all factors that will make your college life. What more makes it dreadful is whenever you have missed some quizzes, guaranteed that you will never had another chance to take it back.

Keep in mind that college courses are not more difficult to pass than high school classes if you study. It all relies on how well you prepare and how well you can concentrate on your studies.

What makes college so fun?

In college, I have gained so many new friends — college make it that you inter-act with all kinds of people. It does not limit your social life to friends and to people you only like. This leads me to a much richer social life than the one I had during high school. On the contrary, what makes it irony is that you can be my seatmate for weeks and still not know your name. Sorry ╥﹏╥

Evening classes makes it more fun. I have even experienced being locked inside school because the gates have been closed. Before college, I am not really an outgoing person. I made sure to be home before the skies get darker but college made me experienced all the things I never had in my high school life. Hanging out late at night, napping at the library, scaring each other in the dark hallways at late evening classes and many much more fun experiences.

Saint Paul University is not all about focusing on academics but also in forming a good example of living in Christianity. They teach you the core values of being a Paulinian. Being Christ-Centeredness means putting Christ in the center of our live and take him as our role model, second is Commission-- it is every Paulina’s responsibility to share the mission to 'save' by doing good deeds just a s Jesus did. Third is Community-- we are involved in the growth of everyone, from promoting peace and justice. Fourth is Charism--to develops our passion to be put in the service of the community, strives to grow and improve daily, always seeking the better and finer things, and the final good. Last but not the least Charity-- Urged on by the love of Christ, the Paulinian is warm, hospitable, and “all to all”, especially to the underprivileged.

How I had survived BS Psychology so far?

Studying Psychology is not very strict at all. Teachers understand every students situation and they talked to you about it. After all Psychology teachers demonstrate their complex and depth understanding of human behavior and be a role model to us but-- they also make sure that they are not taken for granted.

Showing the right behavior is what most the teachers noticed, even if the student is the cream of the top and behaved badly then they are not suitable for the course. Knowing this, I made sure to behaved in the right manner. Teachers taught us that "all emotions are valid", "anger is a secondary response only" and most of all "Do not judge" I have ingrained this things in my head whenever we need to conduct an interview, activity, facilitating and researching and I must say it helped me a lot to learn and understand more of people. Internally, I can see the way I changed to look at things.

Of course, I do not take advantage of this all. I made a great effort improving my academic records besides my behavior. Understanding is better than memorizing I must say because you never know when these situational problems will emerge from test papers. In conclusion, I survived BS Psychology so far by improving not just my academics but also my behavior.

Lesson, I have learned so far...

First is the value of relations. I liked to be quiet and I am really a talker so people misjudged me as a snobber sometimes. I admit, I have missed some chances to make such good relationships and connections with people. I prefer quality than quantity. I like to talked with people whom I fond comfortable with. I must say that making my relations with them stronger really helped me a lot in terms of ups and downs. 'No man is an Island' they say and I believed in that, in order to strive and survive I would eventually be needing other people. It reflects to what Aristotle had said that humans by nature are social beings. In order to prosper and be happy, we need other people, to be connected and to be belong. Being connected let me work with all different types of people toward a common goal. Those same collaboration and leadership skills are priceless in today's world.

Disciplined. Discipline is a great factor surviving so far. Staying disciplined helps me to study on time so that I stay less stress. Discipline helps me in managing homework’s and activities in a planned manner. Lastly, Discipline helps me mold a good student's character.

Never Give Up

Countless times I felt an urge to quit. I sometimes can't vision my future which make me frustrated. I failed some quizzes and I lose track of my dreams. But at the end of the day, the urge to continue and my passion helped me come through my obstacles. Success does not happen in one day, they said. I should keep trying to reach Success in life. I should not give up when I fail in our attempts after all believing in myself and never giving is the right mindset.

Self-study is the success mantra for clearing any examination, says Durgesh Kumar

Durgesh Kumar, son of a farmer from Samastipur district who secured the second rank in the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) class X exam merit list aspires to study in an IIT. With 480 marks out of total 500, Durgesh emerged as the second topper after Himanshu Raj who secured 481 marks. He was hopeful of securing good marks in the board exam. However, making to the merit list was an icing on the cake for him and his family.

Despite financial hardship faced by his family, Durgesh, managed to study hard, under the guidance and support of his uncle who is a science teacher at BS Inter College, Karua in the district. “I am thankful to my supportive family and teachers who encouraged me to study hard and guided me to work on my shortcomings,” says Durgesh who loves Mathematics.

“My uncle who runs a coaching institute helped me clear the doubts and strengthened the basics while preparing for the board exam,” Durgesh tells Education Times. A student of SK High School Jitwarpur and native of Malti village near Samastipur, wants to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) simultaneously while studying in class XI. “Taking coaching class might be not a viable option for me due to the financial conditions of my family,” he adds. Self-motivation and self-study are the success mantra for clearing any examination, he says.

“managers, plural?” suna questioned, ignoring the comment about tsukishima. he faintly remembered the blonde that came in with you, she was sat at the bench when his team played date tech. he would never forget the annoyance he felt upon continuously getting blocked out by that pesky #1. he knew only one manager was allowed on the bench, so if you hadn’t been sitting on the bench, then just where had he seen you? simply walking around the venue? no, he would’ve barely bat an eye at you if that had been the case.

“yeah, i don’t know the name of the (h/c) haired one, but i know the name of the blond one, nametsu mai,” osamu replied. he’d seen mai at the tournament and had thought she was pretty, had even worked up the courage to talk to her. he still followed her twitter, but they’d fallen out of contact the moment college rolled around. “the (h/c) haired one was in the stands when we played, i think. and we saw her congratulating her team when they won against us. she seemed really close with that really tall middle blocker, captain, and setter. other than that, i don’t know much about her.”

suna was nodding carefully as he listened, eyes wandering from osamu to his food and back again. a quiet settled between the pair as both got lost in their own thoughts, the only sound within the dining area of the shop was the murmurs of you and mai, and the occasional laughter that would be exchanged between you, tsukishima, and mai. eventually, osamu claimed he needed to leave so he could open his stall, suna quick to follow his friend as he went to dispose of his food and dish ware, taking the boxes he’d had prepared for komori and washio before heading out of the shop with suna on his heels, though before he exited he cast one last glance at you.

you stayed a while longer with tsukishima and mai, having finished your food a bit ago, and now you were just chatting away with mai, tsukishima looking extremely bored as per usual. eventually, having checked the time, tsukishima claimed they needed to leave. the trio got up, disposed of their dish ware, and then headed back to tsukishima’s car, getting in and then heading to the arena, which was thankful in sendai, not too far from where you lived, actually.

you, mai, and tsukishima had arrived about forty minutes ago, entering the venue and quickly taking your seats. you had been quietly talking with mai, knowing tsukishima would get annoyed if you involved him in your conversation yet again. the stands had slowly started to fill up, seeing as the game — or warm ups, rather — were set to start soon.

whispering something to mai, you quickly got up from your seat and headed to the bathroom, tsukishima casting you a suspicious look though he didn’t say anything to you as you left. when you weren’t back in ten minutes, his eyebrows knitted together in concern, so being the ever so worried cousin he was, he quickly shot you a text to see what you were doing. he didn’t need to wait too long for a reply when he heard his phone ding a minute after he’d sent the text.

shaking your head at the phone screen, you shut the phone off, slipping it in the back pocket of your jeans as you waited in line behind one other person for the onigiri you’d heard so much about.

osamu was quick to catch sight of you, though he didn’t do much besides continue to work diligently as he continued to work through orders. when it was your turn to order, you stepped up and gave the grey haired man your order, smiling softly at him and then stepping to the side as he prepared your order.

he was quick to start up a conversation with you, claiming he recognized you from the inter high national tournament in his third year. you smiled fondly at the memory as you responded to his questions and you asked a few of your own. it was nice, he was nice, and it made you want to stay a bit longer to chat with him, which you did. you stayed even after you got your order, until yamaguchi approached the stall, greeting you with a beaming smile, as he spoke with osamu, who seemed to also recognize him as well. the pair soon got caught up in a small conversation, and that’s when yachi seemed to appear out of nowhere, approaching the stall a few spots over. smiling at your favorite karasuno manager, you called out a “yacchan!” and strided over to her, giving her a hug once you reached her. she hugged you back just as excitedly before she went to order food for herself. you stood with her, talking excitedly with the younger blond. you could feel your phone going off every few minutes, most likely tsukishima questioning where the hell you were, but you were too busy catching up with yachi, and then yamaguchi, that you simply decided to ignore the buzzing of your phone.

suna had received a weird text from osamu, something about learning a girls name or whatever, but he didn’t even know what the grey haired man was talking about, so deciding to walk over to his friend instead, he spotted you again, animatedly talking with the blond ex-manager of karasuno.

suna froze in his spot, eyes not leaving you as you continued talking with the shorter girl, eyes twinkling in a way he’d never seen in anyone before, a huge smile on your face as you and yachi shared a laugh. now, suna had never believed in this “love at first sight” bs, and technically, technically, it wasn’t his first time seeing you, but rather his second, but somehow, the way you were smiling, the way you were laughing with yachi was different from when you were with mai.

when you moved away from the stand you had been at with yachi, your voices slowly becoming distant, only then was suna able to move again, walking towards osamu, giving the amused looking man a questioning look.

“you were staring,” was his greeting as soon as suna stepped up to the stall. suna simple rolled his eyes at his friend, quirking an eyebrow in a silent question. “what?” was osamu’s only response, he wasn’t a mind reader after all.

suna let out a sigh, rolling his eyes at the grey haired man. “well? what was up with the text you sent?”

“oh right!” osamu replied, a big smile coming over his face as he looked over at suna. “i found out mystery girls name,” was his answer, a smirk of victory on his face.

suna stared at osamu. on the inside he was extremely happy about this bit of news, but the fact osamu had him leave his seat, leave washio and komori, that irked him. osamu just continued to smile at the unimpressed looking middle blocker, eyes twinkling teasingly as he continued to speak.

“we got to talking, honestly, very interesting girl,” osamu continued. “obviously i didn’t hear her whole life story, but she did tell me a few things, she moved away from japan around the age of 8, i think is what she said? came back her first year of high school, was a manager at date tech, things like that.”

suna froze at the mention of you having moved from japan at the age of 8. she had moved from japan at the age of 8, his best friend in elementary school. could it really be you? could you be that friend he never got to see after she told him she would be leaving japan and she wasn’t sure if she would be back? “what-” suna’s voice cracked as he stared at osamu, trying to hide the desperation in his voice as he spoke up. “what did she say her name is?”

“l/n y/n,” osamu replied, eyeing the change of emotion on his friends face after he said the name.

suna couldn’t believe it, a name he hadn’t uttered in years, hadn’t heard from, heard about, or talked about, suddenly back in his life. just like that. “y/n?” he questioned, osamu nodding warily as he greeted his employee and then walked away from the stall to head back to their spot, suna in tow.

after the game, suna declared to himself, he’d search for you, be it in person or online. he just needed to know if it was you, his best friend from elementary school.

fact #4; y/n moved away from hyōgō, away from japan when she was 8 because her dad got a job offer in another country, and naturally, your little family picked up and moved for him. because of this, it resulted in y/n becoming trilingual, being fluent in japanese, english, and french — japanese because that’s her mother tongue, english because that’s the universal language, and french because she had moved to france with her family. when she was to start high school (according to japan), y/n’s mother wanted her to go back to japan to learn, as she liked the japanese schooling system better than the french schooling system.

✨) summary; l/n y/n is a single mother living with her 5 year old son in sendai. suna rintarō is a professional volleyball player, the middle blocker for the ejp raijin. the msby black jackals vs the schweiden adlers is a game between two of japan’s v league division 1 teams that bring together many old rivals. y/n is dragged to the game by her cousin, tsukishima kei, claiming she needed to get out and do more than just work and take care of her child. reluctantly, she goes along with the usually salty blond — leaving her 5 year old with a babysitter — to watch the game between two of tsukishima’s ex-teammates. suna makes the executive decision that he will be going to the game to support his former teammate and setter, miya atsumu, with komori asking if he could accompany the middle blocker so he could support his cousin, suna readily agrees and they also invite washio to go with them, knowing he’d want to see bokuto as well. a chance encounter at the game of old reunions brings together two old friends and feelings start to re-emerge. follow y/n and suna as they get to know each other again, fend off any unwanted attention, and work through parenthood in “talk about surprises!”

Since I have no self restraint, I’m writing another prompt/one shot.

Essentially, normal girl Lia (or some OC) whose a big fan of DC comics and the like ends up in a weird inter dimensional accident and ends up in the DC universe (it can be a mix of canon because fuck canon, up to you).

But, where did Lia end up exactly? Fucking Gotham.

The moment she realizes this is decides: Nope. Nah. Nada. No sir-y. This is NOT happening. Fuck this. I might end dying, or, worse, BECOME A FUCKING MAIN CHARACTER IN THE BAT CLAN. NAH. HELL NO.

Lia decides that, no, she will not involve herself in the Bat Clan/Wayne’s at all. Nope. Nah. Too much drama. Too much angst. Too much fucking skin tight suits and my poor Pan heart can’t TAKE all the HOT, RIPPED hero’s like what the fuck.

Now, this can play out in a variety of ways:

Lia is, say, around the same age as one of the Batboys. It can be any of them, up to you. Now, she some how ends up in Gotham Acdemy and begrudgingly befriends them. Cue angst (especially if its Jason. Considering in canon, if Jason survives he becomes Red Robin thats all I know lmao). If Lia is friends with the second Robin, it’d bring up the deliemma of: does she tell him that he’s gonna fucking die and then come back to life. Oh and, she’s actually from an alternate world were everyone thats like a superhero/vigilante is a fictional character. Honestly, if done well, can definitely stir the feelings of the poor saps who read the moral deliemma of Lia. Now, who is Lia? Someone who doesn’t want to get involved. If she avoids Jason in the beginning, does she have doubts and wants to warn Batman of Jason impending death or not? Like, that sort of shit panic attack inducing. There’s a lot of things you guys can do to torture not only Lia, but also the readers who might be like: “TELL HIM! TELL HIMMMMM!!!” or, “fuck, even I don’t know what I’d do” and etc. There’s a lot of leeway.

They are grown, and are in college (let’s say the events of Death in The Family happened and everything surrounding Red Robin striking out to find Bruce whose lost in time). This Lia is much older, recently graduated from college and currently interns for Wayne Enterprises. See, Lia is just another intern in a global colgomerate cooperation, there’s no way she’d ever run into any of the Wayne’s. None at all. But. But. She does. Some how she becomes the Executive Assistant to Tim (he once saw how she managed an entire fucking department’s schedule even though a group of people spontaneously quit. She was able to somehow salvage that shit in under three hours. And, Tim might or might not have fallen slightly in love with her—). Lia, now, a fresh 20-something year old, is now the Executive Assistant to another 20-something year old who happened to run one of the most rich and powerful companies in the entire world holy shit. Now, we follow the adventures of Lia, whose now one of the most powerful persons in the entire company (and proxy the world, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️). Lia, let’s say, is a fucking god at manipulating people, making connections, accounting and management, and also a Very Tired Recently Graduate of GU. She, cannot, and will not deal with the constant bullshit that the Bats pull regularly. So, Lia can either passive aggressively hint that, yeah Tim, you definitely got that broken arm from a golf accident. Oh hey, I also heard the Red Robin foughy Killer Croc and also sported a broken left arm like you! What a coincidence, right? And she’d say this with a straight face. Tim knows that she knows, and Lia knows that Tim knows and yeah. Alternatively, she could outright tell him: “look, Tim, I swear to god, if you put off another meeting without a day notice just because some gang member got the better of you.” “Wait, gang member—?” “—do NOT interrupt me. Look, I know Bruce Wayne is Batman. Not the whole, ‘Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person! The butts match!’ type of thing. I know he is Batman, you Red Robin, Dick Grayson is Nightwing, Red Hood is the weirdly alive Jason Todd, etc etc. There’s no point in feigning the fact that I don’t know. Because, I do.” They stare at eachother for a bit, and Tim falls just a little more in love. “How... Actually it’s dumb to ask you how you know, but, how long?” “Good tactic to ask me how long I’ve know instead of how I know. But, to answer your question: I’ve know since I was around...” THE FRAME FREEZES now, should Lia say 8, since, technically, she’s know since she was 8 that Bruce Wayne is Batman, considering the whole parallel universe thing. Or, does she say 18, the age in which she arrived into this world? Now, that decision can prompt many things to happen. For one, if Lia says 8, Tim is gonna be so awestruck and also be dry curious. If 18, Tim is still amazed (that she knows at all). Either answer would also illicit this response: “...you’ve known for so long, yet never told anyone?” Lia shakes her head. “You guys have a secret identity for a reason. Plus, I’m not in the business of becoming a vigilante or whatever. I’ve tried my best to steer clear of all of that, in all honesty.” “Huh. Makes sense. Wait. Then... why did you start working at WE, if you knew our identities?” Lia stares at him like he’s grown three heads. “Dude. This is WE. One of the most powerful companies out there, why wouldn’t I work here? But, the ither fact of the matter is that I didn’t expect to become your fucking Executive Assistant. Like, I couldn’t just deny the offer, my mother would’ve disowned my ass the second she heard I turned down such a prestigious position.” Lia shuddered. “Fuck, I can hear her curse me out in like, five different languages.” Let’s also say, at one point or another, Lia’s mother arrives, and say, is the most terrifying person Tim has ever met (and Tim’s faced off against Ra’s al Ghul, a functionally immortal man with a fucking army of highly trained assassin at his disposal).

Lia is tame honest to god tame compared to her mother (if her mother is like, 5’3”, that’s even more hilarious tbh). Essentially, if Lia’s older and somehow become Executive Assistant to Tim (or Bruce, because, fuck canon) it would be so god damn funny (read “The Executive Assistant To Batman” in which Tim nene became Robin but still knows the identities of the various Gotham vigilantes. Oh, and, he’s the Executive Assistant to Batman. It’s so fucking hilarious and y’all gotta check it out. It’s on AO3).

Number 2, is a lot more light hearted compared to the moral deliemma of Number 1 (as, is Lia is the same age as Robin!Jason, and knows that he’s gonna die, but she also doesn’t want to get involved with the vigilantes presents a very large problem). Number 1 is great for angst and a character study for this OC. Number 2, is a more light hearted, fun scenario (as it avoids the can of worms called “Do I Warn the Bats of Robin!Jasons impending death or not because I honestly don’t want to get involved with the Bat.”.

I, personally, would love to read Number 2 (please make Lia, or whatever OC, a god damn Tired of Your Bullshit, amazing assistant to the CEO of WE, competent af and very, Very Tired of the Bats BS, and, PR is Going To Skin Me Alive and Roast Me Over A Flame). Maybe some drama, angst sprinkled in (there’s the blatant fact that, Lia is a completely different world. One that has superhero’s, aliens, magic and so, so much more. The fact that she’s in her doppelgänger’s body could cause some dissociation/body dysphoria and that sort of stuff. It’s a great opportunity for a character study for Lia/your OC).

Regardless of you choose 1 or 2, the basic premise is:

Some rando kid (or young adult, whichever strikes your fancy) who loves to read Batman/DC in general. Ends up in some weird ass accident that lands them in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Everything about their pervious life and the life in his world is the same (or not, up to you), only difference is that there’s an alien powered by the Sun and that cannot he injured (unless it’s by a glowing green rock). They decide, pretty early on, that they want nothing to do with the vigilantes of Gotham (which also means they have to avoid the Wayne’s and Co, which should be ways right? Right?? Gotham is really big, I’ll probably only ever see them in passing, I’ll be fine—). But, the universe said, LOL, nope. And they end up befriending the Wayne’s somehow. The rest? Up to you. If they befriend Robin!Jason they have to cope with the moral deliemma of getting involved to save his life or not. Or, maybe this is the world where Dick is still Robin. Do we save Jason early on, or not? What about Tim? Cass? Stephanie? Or, what if, they end up in a world in which Jason died and came back, Bruce came back from being lost in the time stream and Damian is now Robin.

Essentially: OC ends up in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Decided not to ever get in involved with the Vigilantes/Wayne’s. However, the universe said nope and they become friends with one of the Bats/Waynes regardless. Now, how the fuck do they cope?

BONUS: Lia manages to avoid the Wayne’s/Vigilantes of Gotham completely. How? She ends working for LexCorp. As Lex Luthors Executive Assistant (basically the same way as she became the Executive Assistant to Tim). Now, she has to cope with the fact that she works as the Executive Assistant for Lex fucking Luthor of all people. She can hear her mother shaking her head in Disappointment™️. She hates the universe. Also, Lex Luthor is pretty open about his Evil, Bastard Schemes with Lia for whatever reason (much to Lia’s utter fucking chargin). She discreetly sends info about these Evil, Bastard, Devious plans to the Bats. Cue her realizing that, to ensure Luthor doesn’t suspect her, she’s gotta get GOOD at hacking and computer science. And get good she does. Like, her utter fucking Done-ness over Luthors Supervillain ways and her wanted to never be found out by the Bats is like taken to Infinty in the 10 dial scale. Somehow, she manages to both avoid suspicion from Luthor (cue intense moments in which Luthor is talking to her, and he’s speaking in a weird direct way that makes Lia think he found out and she mentally plans for her subsequent “death” and fleeing of the country and when Luthor finishes his sentences it just him praising her or something else innocuous. Lia felt like the sun was lifted off her shoulders.) She’s always on edge. Her hair is slowly turning grey. Luthor notices and makes a comment and Lia simply laughs while making a underhand comment about how Luthors bald so he doesn’t need to deal with greying hairs. Lia stops laughing realizing oh shit I just insulted my boss in the most underhand way. What ghe fuck. But Luthor just laughs, much to Lia’s relief. Her hair is still greying from the stress. Anyways, she inadvertently becomes a techno vigilante that can rival the famed Oracle (let’s say, for the sake of this prompt, Lia’s code name is Reaper because she was drunk and apparently in the mind of her 13 year old self when she came up with it). Reaper’s name is slowly growing, as Lia does some other stuff with her new found skills in hacking. She mostly helps the Bats by giving them crucial info on Luthors dealings and the like.

One day, she realizes, that, oh shit. I became the one thing swore I’d never become. What type of Shakespearean shit is my life—

If someone does the situation in which Lia/their OC becomes Luthor Executive Assistant and then inadvertently becomes a Vigilante themselves because, sure, they don’t want to get involved, but, fuck Luthor and Eat the Rich. Also, I would love it if said fic included the most stress inducing scenes were it seems like Luthor found out about Lia and the whole Reaper situation but he actually DIDN’T and Lia is here like, sweating god damn bucks while her hair slowly falls out. Please. Write this shit. It would be

School House of Rock

I have one month left in Thailand and the time is going by so fast. It doesn’t help either that all my friends at Bridgewater are graduating in less than 30 days (May 4th is our graduation). I admit, I do feel a little left out sometimes watching my friends taking cap and gown pictures, announcing their grad school acceptances or announcing their new employment; and watching some of the Thammasat seniors graduate adds on the nostalgia. It’s weird watching people graduate, but I still have finals starting mid May. It’s weird for me because I am a senior and technically I already graduated from Bridgewater fall semester, but for technical and document purposes, I will be considered as a summer grad because Thammasat has to send my transcripts to Bridgewater [and Thammasat runs on Thai time]. 

In the states, I major in psychology with two minors in social work and cultural studies. When I was registering for classes in Bangkok, I considered taking one or two social work courses, but most of them were similar to the courses I already took at Bridgewater. So, for one day, I sat in a course within the American and British studies program and dropped it because I learned the material in my junior year of high school. Anyway, I’m not trying to do more work than I have to while I’m here. To be a full time student here you only have to take three classes, but I’m following Bridgewater’s criteria, so I have to take at least four classes. Four classes doesn’t sound like that much, but when the lectures are like 3-4 hours long that’s alot!

My classes are within the Thai studies program that focuses on Thai society and everything related to the people. I’m taking Thai Dance, Thai Cuisine, Thai Media and Society, and Basic Thai. The classes aren’t that difficult; outside the discipline, other students view these courses as elective (BS) classes. I’m enjoying my classes though I do have my days were I feel like I am wasting my time, but you can say that about any class and at any college campus. My most difficult class is Basic Thai because learning a different language can be difficult for anyone especially if you’re only fluent or exposed to one language My favorite thing about Thai Studies is that my classes are hands-on. The inter-activeness helps me maintain my attention and keeps me from daydreaming most days. Unlike at home, I don’t get assigned much assignments besides Basic Thai, but they are few. Some days I have to force myself to be a student and make myself to study and complete assignments [on time]. The academic environment in Bangkok is so relaxed and less stringent (not really complaining until I want know what my grades are like).

In Thai Dance, I’ve learned various dances that originate from different regions of Thailand. These dances come from the North, Northeast, Central, and Southern Thailand. Along with the dances, we’ve learned about traditional instruments used in these performances and even had the opportunity to play them. Me and some classmates visited a museum to learn more about Bangkok (Thai) entertainment. At the end of this month we have our public performance. Myself and other students have the opportunity to wear dance costumes and perform one of the four dances we’ve learned from the semester. Recently, I attended an international cultural camp where I learned more Thai dances, more about the instruments, and got to wear a traditional Thai dance outfit.

I’m a big foodie, so it doesn’t surprise me that I’m taking Thai cuisine. The best way to understand a culture is to try the food. Now, the name sounds a little deceiving because we don’t spend every class cooking Thai dishes. The course is mainly lectured based with some cooking demonstrations and two cooking classes. I’ve gotten to sample various foods and desserts, visited a local fresh market, and learned and cooked popular Thai dishes like green chicken curry, bananas in coconut milk, and grilled pork spicy salad. I’ve learned about the history of Thai food and how the dishes vary depending on regional location and foreign influence. Now, I’m learning how different restaurants operate and all the responsibilities that comes with working in the food service industry.

Thai Media and Society is my favorite class! I love the interesting discussions we have in class and listening to the different perspectives on certain topics from the various countries represented in class (i.e. American, Russian, Japanese, Korean, etc.). I actually pay attention in that class unlike some other people, but I did semi decent on the midterm. Now, I’m focusing on my group’s final presentation which is composed of an abstract and an oral presentation. I’m learning alot from interviewing various people and working with classmates from different cultural backgrounds. My group is researching racism within Thai society and how advertisements play a role in Thai beauty standards. Last month, the class took a field trip to the ThaiPBS station which was a fun experience. It was my first time touring a national broadcasting network studio, and later this month we are visiting another popular network studio in Thailand.

Basic Thai isn’t a bad class, but I have to shift most of motivation towards this class because I actually want to do well in that class. So far, I’m doing okay. I just have to schedule more time outside of class to really practice and learn the language. I get flashbacks to when I was learning Spanish. For me, Spanish is easier to learn than Thai. What mess me up is that the Thai language is all about tone and not necessarily about pronunciation. One word can have five different meanings depending on the tone being used. I’m slowly integrating Thai vocab into my daily conversations and it’s kind of going okay. No means will I be fluent in Thai by the end of May. Maybe if I was gonna live here longer and put more of an effort, I could be fluent if I really tried. During the summer, I’m gonna try to keep practicing the language to see how far I can get and I have a language to help me out as well. 

One degree down and one more to go. Grad school here I come...after my gap year. Fingers crossed I’ll be walking Boston College’s campus Fall 2020.

Who’ll it be next?

One of the major events of the school is the search for Mr. and Ms. Batangas State University wherein a lot of amazing young ladies and gentlemen compete. All departments prepared more than enough to combat other colleges, bringing in what’s the best for the clash. Fighting in a silent way and thinking on how they will knock off each one their opponents. Winner for this competition will step forward to battle for the inter Mr. & Ms. Batangas State University.

However, every department selected the best of the best to represent their own colleges. The College of Arts and Sciences chose only a pair of students to battle, also the same with other two departments; College of Engineering and Computing Sciences and the College of Information Technology. On the other hand, the College of Teacher Education and the College of Accountancy, Business, Economics, and International Hospitality Management picked two pairs of students.

The College of Arts and Sciences took the lead for the first money contest counting. Would they be able to maintain it though? There’s a rumor that the highest count will automatically be part of the top 5 on the pageant day. Will this counting affect the rivalry for the title “champion”?

First, let me tell you a brief history of the last pageant that happened 2 years ago. While they are on the stage for their final walk, the king said “it is a very long week before the pageant.  It was exhausting, making me want to stop but because of the persuasion of my colleagues, I continued and made not only my college proud but also myself.” The Queen said “This pageant made me transform into a new persona which even me didn’t know I had.” Which then the king from the College of Information Technology and queen from the College of Accountancy, Business, Economics, and International Hospitality Management informed the candidates to just enjoy and seize the moment they are on stage.

In almost every field in life, everyone have coaches to help take what they have and make it into something bigger and something better. Pageants are not different. The principle of receiving guidance from someone who has more knowledge and experience is exactly as the same as for this event.

The emcee once said, “Tonight is the night of cheers from the audience”. As the battle began, the candidate from the College of Teacher Education and College of Accountancy, Business, Economics, and International Hospitality Management collected the most awards. When the elimination round came up, only 10 candidates remained. Here came my favorite part after the long gown or night gown presentation, the question and answer portion which every candidate answered the given question to them.

The first thing I noticed while the candidates answered the question was that they try to speak in English but some of them did not succeed, just a few of them was able to, especially the candidates from the College of Arts of and Sciences.

I just regret the way it was judged. It was just for the beauty and physique not to the talent and intellect. Contrary on how it should be judged, maybe those candidates who won over topped the others and they have qualification, ability and competence to battle against other campuses and this was a very crucial decision to continue to duel against other better and smarter candidates.

Oh! Before I forgot, the winner for this year Mr. and Ms. Batangas State University – Malvar Campus 2019 are non-other than from the College of Accountancy, Business, Economics, and International Hospitality Management.

So, only one question remains. Are you ready for the next inter Mr. and Ms. Batangas State University King and Queen?

Anglo-Scottish physician Ian Donald was born on December 27th 1910.

There are differing versions of Ian Donald’s birthplace, one gives it a Cornwall, another vaguely states Scotland, while Wiki was non committal  and just gave his date of birth when I last posted on this, in the year since it has plumped for Liskeard inn Cornwall.

Donald does however have a strong Scottish heritage, he was born to John Donald and Helen née Barrow Wilson in 1910.His father was a general practitioner who came from a Paisley medical family,his grandfather also a GP, and his mother a concert pianist. Donald was the eldest of four children; his siblings were Margaret, Malcolm, and Alison Munro, who later became a leading headmistress. attended Warriston School in Moffat, and he attended Fettes College, Edinburgh, for secondary education. However, Donald never completed his education in Scotland, as the family moved to South Africa due to his father's poor health

Ian continued his education at the Diocesan College in Rondebosch, subsequently obtaining a BA from the University of Cape Town.

 He then studied medicine and was awarded MB BS at London University in 1937. During 1942-1946 he served as a medical officer in the RAFVR; was mentioned in dispatches and awarded the MBE for rescuing airmen from a burning aircraft. He is considered a Scot though, so we’ll claim him.

So apart from being a brave guy what else has he done? Well during his wartime service he became interested in radar and and sonar technology and with this in mind he worked with T G Brown of the the scientific instrument makers Kelvin & Hughes to create the first diagnostic ultrasound machine, and in 1958, with Brown and John MacVicar, he published his findings in The Lancet. Donald’s idea of using ultrasound to diagnose humans was ridiculed. However, after a large ovarian cyst was diagnosed in a female patient, practitioners took the technology seriously.

He was involved in the planning and design of the Queen Mother’s Hospital in Glasgow, which opened in 1964 and was Regius Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Glasgow University, from 1954 to 1976.

In honour of Professor Ian Donald, Professor Asim Kurjak founded the Ian Donald Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 1981. It is one of the world’s largest school of medical ultrasound and each year many celebrated students come through their advanced courses in medical ultrasonography.

And in recognition of his pioneering work in Ultrasound, an Ian Donald Gold Medal was awarded each year by the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology to the person whose pioneering work is considered to have the most profound influence in the development of Obstetrical and Gynecological ultrasonography.
