Jessie and Delia Proposal #1
It’s been a bit over a year or so into Jessie and Delia’s relationship. They’ve lived together for a while, Jessie’s still studying to be a nurse, they’ve gone on a journey together and are very much in love. Jessie is a massive romantic. However, I don’t think she’s ever seen a healthy or realistic marriage in real life and most of what she knows is from TV or movies. People fall in love hard and fast and if their love is strong enough, surely they should just get married as soon as possible! In “A Fork in the Road! A Parting of the Ways!” Jessie falls in love with a doctor and within a day is convinced that they’ll get married right after she confesses her love to him. So in this situation with Delia, where they’ve actively been dating for quite some time, Delia has no other love interests and Jessie’s been getting along well with Ash, getting married to Delia is a no brainer. A proposal is in order! How could Delia say no?
Jessie doesn’t quite have the funds yet so she buys a humble ring, vowing to get a proper one someday once she’s a full fledged Pokémon nurse. She decorates the back yard, gets just… SO MANY flowers, leaving petals leading to the yard for when Delia gets back from work. Delia loves the romantic gestures and copious amounts of flowers but is caught completely off guard when Jessie gets down on one knee. At first, all she can muster is a “no”. Jessie gets horribly embarrassed and runs back into the house. Delia, who is now also distressed, chases after her, worried that she might’ve just pushed Jessie away for good.
Delia is able to stop her girlfriend and sit her down to talk in their bedroom. Jessie is worried that Delia doesn’t love her. When two people love each other, they’re supposed to get married right? Delia reassures Jessie that she loves her deeply, but also lets her know marriage is a huge step (and something that should be discussed before a proposal). She tells Jessie about she and Ash’s father started dating, got married and had Ash all within a year. They moved too quickly and things didn’t work out. She conveys to Jessie that she’s not ready to be married again, but would be one day. She needs more time and is excited for the both of them to learn a little more about one another each day. Jessie understands and promises to be someone Delia’s proud to marry. Delia appreciates the sentiment and also says that she loves the ring. She tells Jessie to save it for the right moment.
There’s a little awkwardness for a bit afterwards but they get through it. Jessie’s ego is still damaged after this and the cringe experience gets randomly beamed into her brain for a long time. She’s just happy she didn’t tell anyone else (other than Wobbuffet) that she was going to propose before she did.

okay so this is an idea I’ve seen brought up maybe once before, but maybe Jason (before the Bats find out who he is) accidentally lets something slip that makes them realize that he’s literally, like, a child (seventeen, sixteen, I’m not sure how old he is at that point exactly, but either works)
and Bruce “adoption addiction” Wayne promptly looks at this obviously traumatized teenager and decides that he should adopt Red Hood.
I just think Jason would be so confused (maybe a little pissed too)
I’ve touched on that a little bit in What you’re longing for (you claim to abhor)!
I think this trope is wayyy underrated. Like, Jason is still so, so young. Basically a child. Even if he died at sixteen and then spent two years with the league (even if we’re counting the time he spent dead as aging). He’s barely even legal when he returns to Gotham. Or if we’re being generous let’s say he’s nineteen.
Doesn’t matter, he’s barely out of his teens (maybe he’s still IN his teens if you bend the timeline of your fic a little) and he’s experienced horrors that would have most people become utterly unable to function. But Jason? That boy takes his trauma and channels it into anger. Which, not exactly healthy, but well.
Anyway, getting off topic:
YES. Jason is still basically a kid when he debuts as the Red Hood, and you know what else he is? A good boy who’s not gonna touch any alcohol until he’s officially 21.
“But why would he do that? He grew up in Crime Alley! Ain’t nobody got time for age limitations!”
Hear me out! Let’s assume he grew up in a household where his father, Willis Todd, drank quite a lot on the regular in addition to his mom’s addiction. Jason experienced the aftermath of this (perhaps domestic violence?) every time his dad returned from a job/jail and he grew to loathe any and all substances, including alcohol. Knowing Jason and his convictions it wouldn’t be too far fetched to assume he’d never touch a single drop of alcohol at all.
So that’s one way he could slip up while taking to his goons (and having the bats overhear) or even straight up talking to one of them where maybe Dick banters a bit and goes “Hey, perhaps you should chill out a bit. Have a drink maybe” and Jason just instinctively goes “Fuck you Dickwing, I’m seventeen/eighteen/nineteen! I’m not allowed to drink!”
And Dick just— bluescreens. And immediately goes to tell Bruce, obviously.
OR
The Bats assume Jason is this old guy (Bruce’s or Drathstroke’s age maybe) and consequently they keep alluding to things that happened way before Jason was ever even born and at first he’s so? Confused??? But eventually it just gets really annoying and eventually he just— snaps.
“How the fuck would I know which Nokia gen hit the market that year? I was born in fuckin’ XXXX, I’m an iPhone kid!”
“Stop referencing the Cold War dipshit, I’m fucking seventeen! I’m glad I remember my own damn birthday!”
“I don’t know, I was like— two back then.”
Bruce, obviously, would take .1 seconds to realize:
“Omg. That’s- that’s a whole child. That’s a whole damn TRAUMATIZED child, killing people and sawing off heads. Omg someone must have hurt him so bad. Don’t worry tho, son, Batman’s got you. You won’t have to hurt anybody ever again. We’re here for you. Would you like the room next to Tim’s or Dick’s?”
Meanwhile Jason: “what the fuck”

A relatively common trope of fma fanfiction is the modern Amestris au, which is basically your standard modern au for all your slice of life needs except stuff like alchemy and automail still exist, so the author doesn’t have come up with real world equivalents when that’s not really the point of their fic.
This is all fine and dandy, but one thing that’s always bugged me is that most of the time in these fics Al is just like. a normal, not disembodied, fully abled child. There are several issues with this, mainly that this alteration significantly changes the character dynamic between Ed and Al in ways the author often doesn’t account for at all.
This is also a common issue is regular modern aus, but I bring it up in the context of modern Amestris aus because an idea just occurred to me that I don’t think I’ve seen before: since alchemy still exists, why not have Al just straight up still be in the armor? Put that boy in public school and give him the strangest IEP known to man!
Touchscreens don’t recognize his leather fingers so he has a blackberry (which his hands are way too big for so it takes him twice as long to send most messages because he doesn’t like to leave in typos).
He was both pressured into joining and permanently banned from his middle school’s basketball team within the span of a week.
His condition isn’t secret or anything, it was kind of a big deal at the time and it made the news after it happened but after awhile the buzz mostly died down.
They were contacted by one of those medical mysteries documentary shows (a la extraordinary people), and Pinako told them that if they thought she would let an entire camera crew into her house they were fucking insane.
The initial publicity is the only reason the Amestrian government hasn’t kidnapped him or anything, but they do stalk him and the brothers and the Rockbells have definitely noticed.
If Izumi is Ed and Al’s legal guardian they are much more discreet about it because whenever she spots them hiding in the bushes or whatever she starts reciting castle doctrine law “to no one in particular.”
Because the modern world is a bureaucratic panopticon from hell and also CPS exists instead of just going out into the world to find the philosophers stone the Elrics just have to study real hard and try to eventually get into Alchemy MIT I guess.
Al is physically unable to use any kind of headphones because he has no ears.
He and Mei Chang are playing Minecraft right now as we speak.

So, if it's a fighting game and Pomni is an agile brawler type, what would the others be? Would Cain and bubble be a zoning duo? All range attacks and building distance with teleports and whatnot
They are all based on brawler types!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Babbling my little head off about it last night BUT I do plan on characterizing both them and their fighting styles off of their own individual dexterity; examples again being Gangle’s agility, Zooble’s blunt force, etc etc
AND while we’re on the topic of it;
Tumblr media
Caine isn’t a boxer! He’s the matchmaker!!
Tumblr media
Well, he’s more of Pomni’s contractor and manager, and the primary reason she climbs the ranks as fast as she does; but in no way does that mean he does his job well. He can be,, frustrating
And stupid.

thinkin’ about gojo getting caught having a camboy account by reader and reader teaches him a lesson. recording gojo while reader runs an orgasm through gojo, overstimulating the poor boy! gojo ending up sobbing and begging for forgiveness while reader fucks the life out of him, ignoring his pleas and cries..
at least he learns his lesson..

I think we should all brainstorm a few questions for the Q and A video! I feel like it would be good for us as a community(boat boys but also the smallishbeans tumblr community in general) to think of a few and ask those, so everybody is on the same page, if that makes sense
I figured it would be good to have one-ish post to track questions back to, hence this one!

Hi! I'd like to ask if it's possible to have a scenario where the reader is a time/dimension traveler trying to escape the yanderes just to find herself/themself having more yandere? Thanks!
I keep coming back to this ask, and for good reason. It’s a really fun one honestly, I don’t think it’s enough to have a single scenario for this. (not an insult btw this idea is just that exciting I believe it needs more than one bit to it). It feels like a complex idea in my head, bits and pieces I want to add and expand on.
The thought of multiple Yandere people after you, villains/Joestars no matter where you hop to sounds terrifying. I’d probably have to condense some things with certain characters since there’s so many of them. (Doesn’t mean I’d ignore them completely) A big highlight would be the main villains/Jojos/Jobro characters.
Reader/Darling definitely has a stand (you’d certainly need one to not go completely insane in this scenario). I already have the name “King Diamond” down and a vague idea of a couple abilities for it. This will probably sound ridiculous but time travel will be some sort of sub ability. I’ll be upfront it maybe a bit OP with how I write, though the point of you utilizing the stand is more for running/hiding/defense and using wit than anything else. I’m hoping with that I can still make it a fun read.
Don’t mind me rambling on below, this is a rather large thing for me to speculate/maybe plot out.
Anywho another interesting bit with this concept would be characters who reoccur later recognizing you. Starting off with Part 1, with Dio who returns in Stardust Crusaders. Joseph recognizing you from interacting in Part 2. Etc. (which probably won’t make it easier for you in the long run)
Involving requiem in one form or another. (Again I feel this is more for reader’s sanity).
Characters potentially working together/not falling for infighting (or going after you, themselves). Looking forward in particular to writing Pucci for this since he’s pretty on top of changing plans usually. Valentine is another contender (just with you potentially hopping universes)
Anyway I think I’m going to call this the Yandere JJBA Singularity project or something like that. This will probably be a big undertaking for me, with maybe rewatching certain bits to get a refresher.
might not do this right away but I thought to put this out there finally.

I LOVE the zombie Jason prompt oh my god. I'm imagining how angsty the reunions will be at first when they think they've run into him as a regular zombie... before he turns around and starts lecturing them for not shooting him LOL
Oh dang yeah that’s totally gonna be an interesting moment lmaoooo
Now imagine tho: Jason has zombie privileges. He can now walk amongst the dead without fear of getting bitten again. The other zombies don’t clock him as something alive.
So for a while Jason keeps his distance, watches his family flounder about… and then one of them gets swarmed and he has that “goddammit” moment where he looks at the camera like he’s in the office before jumping to the rescue.
(And the others already saw him around on supply runs, walking with the horde (“I had to blend in ok!?”) and that was heartbreaking enough, because they STILL couldn’t bear to take the shot)
So when Jason shoulders himself to the front and grabs the batfam member that was about to become a nice snack— they’re just happy they get to see him again one last time. Even if they think Jason is about to tear into them.
And he does tear into them. With words. Because BOY does Jason have some things to say about that level of idiocy.
And while there’s a teary reunion happening with Jason and that batfamily member of choice, the others only caught glimpses of what they presume is zombie Jason reaching their poor child/sibling and couldn’t bear to keep looking. Thus missing the entire not-actually-becoming-a-snack-for-Jay thing.
….
Dang it. Don’t tempt me into writing this.

I didnt mean to rediscover how much I like brainstorming and world building stuff but here we are - this time it’s (mostly) pirate Neil and shark Andrew flavored!
@tell-me-your-vision had some very good tags on the last post like this so of course I started thinking harder about it lol, you all know by now that the best way to get me to draw more is to leave ideas and questions in your tags 😘 it’s very interesting figuring out what parts I want to be drawn directly from the source animal and what I want to have artistic liberty with! Sometimes you just gotta say “it’s this way because I decided it is” and offer no more explanation, not even to yourself.
That being said. If the snippet interested you, find more of the unfinished scene here :D (and if you want to leave a comment… 👀)
I don’t know how clear this image is going to end up being, so here’s the important notes typed up:
Does [Andrew’s] missing fin cause maneuverability problems? Yep. Fins keep the body stable and streamlined in the water. No fin/half detached fins means Andrew spends a lot more energy to be equally as efficient while swimming. (That’s part of why he had more upper body strength than most mers.)
Does jelly Neil feel pain like humans? Not at all. Pain vs nociception - the detection of averse stimulus. So Neil can sense and respond to ‘painful’ stimuli, and he does feel some pain like a person would in his upper half, but it’s mostly just a sensation that he responds to. (This is dangerous. Less pain means he doesn’t realize how dire a situation may be.)
A second eyelid - like a crocodile/etc; a clear secondary eyelid that closes horizontally beneath the primary eyelid, developed to keep the eye safe and clear underwater. Why jelly Neil rarely ‘actually’ blinks
Pirate Neil’s prosthesis. Most of it is always hidden under clothes; it’s made of leather, copper, rubber, and cumaru wood. It was given to him by Stuart as soon as the man found out that Neil had lost his leg, and Stuart had it custom made through his vast connections. At one point in the timeline, Neil angrily takes it off to show a wary and lashing-out sharkDrew that he has also once been on the wrong end of a ‘whaler’s’ knife.
The tiny two panel comic in the bottom right corner: pirate Neil says “stop trying to stab me in the leg” while sharkDrew was fairly certain he just took out this pirate’s kneecap with his sharp rock
The snippet:
“And it was terrified. It’s second eyelids fluttered, it’s eyes were hazy. It held the rough stone ready in case Neil tried to get close again. It still wasn’t breathing right. It was still bleeding.
“Okay,” Neil said softly. He held his own hands out a little to the side. “I’m not going to hurt you more.”
The shark snarled, though it’s mouth never opened.
“I didn’t hurt you in the first place. They’re still finning mers?”
Neil tried to step in, slowly, and was met with another vicious swing. He was ready this time, avoiding the sharp stone neatly.
“Hey, thing. Keep moving like that and you’ll bleed to death.”
Another attempt, and another swing. Neil looked at the place it’s fin had been, now a horrible, gaping wound on its back. He could see the meat beneath the blood. If he didn’t help soon, the shark would go into shock, if not simply die here on the rocks.
“Do you even realize what’s at stake for you?”

The dark side of giant and tiny societies
This is a brainstorming post about a common g/t trope in stories. It'll contain heavy and mature themes. During my years liking g/t, there was a common story trope that I really enjoy even now. It's those stories where giants and humans live in harmony, in a society that accommodate both species. This trope has been used a lot in more slice of life g/t stories and high school romance dramas. Usually involves a human and a giant falling in love, a human moving to a mixed species school for the first time, etc. These universes are usually so creative because of the constructions and structures built to accommodate both species in the same space. How the cities and buildings work, etc. But recently, idk if it's because I've matured, or because I've read a story that made me think about it, the thing I kinda miss in these stories is how many problems there could be in a society like that. Usually everything is treated as normal by the characters because they're used to it, but me reading it as an outsider started to realize... How vulnerable the humans are in a society like this. Let me explain. Think about, you're living in a world where people ten times your size live. Not only one or two giants, but thousands upon thousands, good and bad people. Each step from each individual shake the Earth, and their voice is so loud they need to whisper to have a proper conversation with you. Not every giant would be willing to step lighter, or speak lower for a tiny person they might not even know. Being under a constate state of being careful around them must feel tiring. If some giants don't want to accommodate themselves for a human, there's nothing said human can do. I can't stop thinking about how vulnerable humans would be. Having to depend of a good giant to transport you around is risky. And even if you don't depend of a giant, walking on the same floor as the towering beings would be even more dangerous. Accidents would happen all the time, because you're as small as a bug to these giants. Also, I think about how easy it'd be for giants to kidnap you, and sell you as a pet. It's very, VERY easy. You're too small for other giants to notice. And you're so weak you have no chance of getting out of their grasp. Human trafficking would be a HUGE issue. Anyways I just keep thinking about how dangerous a society like that could be, and how hard it is for giants and humans to live together so casually. Humans are too small, too fragile and vulnerable, and not every giant is willing to walk on eggshells to make them comfortable. So nowadays, when I see a g/t story with this trope where everything is fine, I can't help but doubt how possible a society like that would be. It feels too easy, too utopic, and I wish more g/t stories explored the dangers surrounding a world like that. That's it, end of Ted talk *evaporates into the distance*

True that.

I have this idea in my head that the public/legacy image and "reputations" of Thomas and Martha Wayne are very different from how they were in reality. Here are my headcanons:
Martha was the "black sheep" of the Kane family. She was a rebellious free-spirit and immersed herself in modern music, fashion, art, and technology. She hated the stuffy and restrictive "old money traditions" her parents tried to force on her as the eldest daughter.
She grew up with Thomas Wayne as a childhood best friend since preschool. First and foremost, they have always been ride-or-die besties.
Her family tried forcing Martha into an arranged marriage with Lionel Luthor (Lex's future father) in order to merge the Kane family of Gotham with the Luthors of Metropolis.
Desperate not to marry Lionel, Martha got a bright idea and proposed to Thomas. Her reasoning was that they could "fake marry" until her family either gave in to her independence or finally disowned her, either of which were fine to Martha. Once Martha's independence was secured, they could dissolve the marriage and both of them could be free to do what they want and be with who they wished.
Thomas and Martha's original marriage totally happened in Vegas. They eloped so hard! They road tripped the whole thing too from Gotham to Vegas. They stopped at various tourist traps along the major highways, ate at a variety of regional drive-thrus, diners, and dives, and listened to all sorts of music. And Martha drove most of the way while Thomas controlled the radio. Martha has a notoriously heavy lead foot which she gleefully indulged on the highways.
Later they had a more "traditional" ceremony to renew their vows in Gotham proper several years later. But the public, Bruce, and his family thinks that was their actual marriage.
So yeah... They "fake married" themselves into true love!
Relationship-wise, Thomas and Martha are the Gotham equivalent of Gomez and Morticia in how much they live each other.
Martha is also a lifelong chaos gremlin and Thomas enables her at every turn. He thinks it's fun to watch her stick it to the stuffy old money assholes of Gotham, especially to the Kanes!
Thomas is still an incredible doctor and Martha still is a philanthropist who supports a lot of Gotham's charities who help those in desperate need. Despite how high society views them, the general public of Gotham LOVES them both!
