Mithrun x Reader

Right. So after canon he heads back to Melini (with you, of course) to scout out monsters and demons with his side hustle of making noodles! So as a noble yourself, you follow him to help achieve his dreams!
However, Mithrun is still ticked off at the part where reviving isn’t a plausible option after death, so he’s extremely careful with you. So much so that after a month or so with you trailing with him on his search for monsters, he tosses you in the noodle shop (with the land he had claimed with his noble blood).
At this point, he’s been so surrounded in his want for monster/demon blood that he hasn’t exactly made any progress with the noodle making… and well, neither have you. So there you sat, alone in a big restaurant, with no customers at all, no one to keep you company or to keep you entertained!
So that’s when you decide to try to cook noodles on your own!
You grabbed as many how to guide’s you could from books all over your country, which included recipes from the western territories all the way to the eastern islands! You even scrounged up some old tattered papers from the ex-canaries, Senshi, and the trash.
Collecting herbs, grains, and whatever monster-like ingredients Laios sent to you through the mail.
You decided to keep most of your habits a secret from Mithrun, or at least as you can from him because you wanted to be the one to teach him when the day comes he wanted to pursue his other desire. You always schedule your time practicing for when he's away, and Mithrun being the man that he is always has a set pattern on doing things. Meaning he always came back home almost at the exact same time everyday.
The only other times he'd come home at a later time is when he gets lost, for he has the time of his life navigating the city streets. (This is rare because he likes using his teleportation magic a lot more than actually walking.)
So on this very special day, once you've decided your skills are up to the test, you served him home made noodles. Not only were they home made, so was the sauce/broth. You were quite proud of making such a delicious meal, now it was time to share your talent with your lover.
"Mithrun, wake up, I have a very special breakfast to share with you!" You say, pushing him back and forth from his sleeping state. You'd waken up hours earlier to prepare for this momentous occasion.
No response.
Maybe you should have planned the scheduling better? This was earlier than usual for the ex-captain to wake up... No! You were his partner, he should wake up for you!
"Mithrun wake up!!!" You groan loudly, stopping all your movements before shoving your face into his blanketed stomach, "Please please please please!"
With no words to utter, Mithrun begrudgingly arose from the bed, sitting right up to face you. You beamed with excitement as he looked to face you.
"Why don't you join me down at the resturaunt floor? I have set up something quite amazing down there." You put a finger to your chin and smile, "Plus I think you'll like it a lot!!"
Down the steps the two of you went, where in arrival was the bowl of noodles you had prepared only minutes before. They were served with scallions, mushrooms, a pantry load of seasonings, and whatever meat you had bought fresh from the market a day before.
"What is this?"
"It's noodles! That I made.. for you... 'cause you said you wanted to make them yourself and.... I can see where I messed up a little, but I did it so that I can help you in the future! When you wish to fufill your desire of noodle making!!!" You sheepishly say, a much smaller smile creeping up on your lips.
"I never said you messed up." He said smoothly, teleporting away from you and into the seat in front of the food. You follow closely behind him, sitting at the seat next to him.
"Go on, take a bite! It'll be all for nothing if we run out of time and you need to go out monster hunting." You tilt your head to the right, clasping your hands together.
He looks down at the meal in front of him, and his good eye flickers up and down between you and the noodles. After a few seconds past he picked up the nice utensils you placed next to the bowl and took his first bite.
"So how does it taste? Do you like it??!"
"I don't feel anything in particular for it." He murmurs calmly.
"Ah." Your world view shatters for a moment, before sucking in your pride, "So what makes you feel that way? I thought it was really good, but our tastes are quite different from each other..."
"It's a little too flavorful for me, but I'm... grateful that you spent so much time perfecting this for me. How long was it? A few months?"
"What!!? How did you know that I was..."
"You can't hide things from me, [name]. You'll never be able to succeed."
You stare at him for a second before collapsing on the table before you, "Arghh! I totally thought everything was going to go great, but as it turns out... Mithrun is just too good for me." You pull the bowl towards you, taking the utensils from Mithrun's hand, "And if you don't like it then you don't need to eat it."
"It's not my taste, but I don't mind. Please, I'd rather not leave any left overs, especially if it's a meal from you." His face seemed to soften as he said those few words, and your face reddened in response, letting out an "oh" as you correct your posture.
"Well then if you have time off anytime soon, you could stay here and I could teach you how to make your own noodles that suit your own taste. Then we could actually open the resturaunt to the people." You say sweetly, looking down at the food, watching it dissapear by each passing minute, "I'm sure every being here in Melini would love to eat food made by the hands of a noble. Maybe even the Canaries can home, I'm sure they'd enjoy a meal made by their captain."
"Mm... I'll stay here for today. My desire's growing after eating this d- uhm. Delicious meal you made for me." He states simply, putting the empty bowl and utensils to the side.
"Alright then." You get up from the seat next to him and take his hand, "I'll teach you everything I know." Another smile perks up on your lips as you pull him to the kitchen.
Mithrun in a kitchen. Who could've guessed?!
He's not very skilled at cutting, buthis use of magic fills in the void quite perfectly.
You help him a lot, which includes taking his hands in yours when he begrudgingly uses the knife.
He likes your touches but not the “weapon” in his hands.
You also teach him to pound the noodles, which you usually put lots of energy into, but for him not so much. You have to fill in for him most of the time.
There will come a day where Mithrun won’t go out on expeditions and instead stays with you in the restaurant, for a long time.
And to him, he wouldn’t want to spend his last few (hundreds of) years any differently.

i tried to make another recipe from the sonic cookbook for my lunch today . emphasis on tried because i thought i had more of the ingredients than i actually did and didn't realize how much i was missing until i had already started cooking and gotten excited to eat official vector the crocodile ramen so i just said fuck it we ball and hoped it turned out ok . what i did end up with was pretty good though even if its not exactly what the recipe was telling me to do

G'morning all! Its nice to get back things,. Theres been some roadblocks with med shortages and life, and also with the material for these recipes. So far we've covered a lot of pastries, not because theyre mentioned more often in the series, but because being mentioned lends them more specificity in flavor than things like gravy, peas, or various meats. The latter can be prepped, seasoned, and served in so many different ways that it feels harder to make them 'faithfully' because a packet of instant potato mash is just as faithful as a pot of buttered potato mash. Baked goods tend towards 1, maybe 2, 'base' recipes that get altered and added to. 
 Today, we'll be making Beorn's Honey Cakes! A dish from one of my partners favorite characters- a delectable little treat befitting the… warm personality of the character.

SO, “what goes in to Beorn's Honey Cakes?” YOU MIGHT ASKSimple stuff! Simple sweet stuff!
All-purpose flour
Baking powder
Salt
Ground nutmeg
Unsalted butter
Whole milk
2 eggs
Honey
Vanilla extract
The veins of honey cakes ancestry can be traced back to any moment where people began baking bread. Honey is a natural preservative, and sweeter still on its lonesome.

Tastes like a honey graham cracker
But the texture is softer, wetter- somewhat like banana bread

If you can resist the temptation of eating them immediately, they taste even richer the day after baking
Would pair well with milk green tea
Would also pair well with fresh orange slices (or those chocolate 'orange slices' candy)
Genuinely don't forget to flip them upside down when they go to bake the second time, not sure what it is but i was curious and did a test where i flipped half of the batch upside down and kept the other half of the batch right-side up like they cooked in the muffin tin. The ones i flipped upside down universally had a more consistent texture and the honey was able to permeate further.

From start to finish this recipe takes about an hour of work, give or take some negligible time for prep.
The batter is perhaps the babybird of all cake batters. The gloopy, protruding crumbs of butter, not unlike a squabs beady pupils visibly dark under its skin, break up the mass of sickly smooth and reassuringly sweet-smelling oak-colored liquid. You can feel the confusion of bees outside your home, wondering if this your attempt at making royal jelly.
Just like a babybird, it becomes more than the sum of its parts. Layer on that honey drizzle, layer it on thick, theres no risk of drowning subtle flavors. Its crisp edges will keep its form, springy and warm, inviting you as if you're not the one who crafted it (food you didn't cook always tastes better). The bees are sooooooooooooooo jealous of your opposable thumbs and muscular strength.
If you dont have eggs you could try substituting with apple mash. I can't vouch for it in this recipe but replacing eggs with mashed up apples for pancakes gives it adds a nice fruity flavor without changing the texture, and in theory should work here as well.
I give this recipe a solid 10/10 (with 1 being food that makes one physically sick and 10 being food that gives one a lust for life again.)

Ingredients:
270 grams all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1 stick unsalted butter
160 grams milk
2 eggs
110 grams your favorite honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Muffin tray and parchment paper
Method:
Preheat oven to 350f
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
 Add the butter and rub it into the flour with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 
In a small bowl beat the eggs until just combined. Pour in milk and then vanilla extract while stirring.  Keep stirring vigorously while slowly pouring in honey.
Stir until the mixture is consistent in color.
Pour the liquids over the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased muffin tray, don't use any muffin paper/lining/cups.
Bake for 16 minutes, or until they reach their full height.
Carefully remove from the muffin pan and place the muffins upside down on a parchment lined tray.
Using a silicone pastry brush, generously cover the tops of the cakes with honey. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes to let the honey soak into the cakes.
Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cakes are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Peter Mum's Soda Bread Recipe

With work around here the way it is at the moment, most likely EuropeanCuisines.com won't be up again until the end of the year. (shrug) Such is life.
With that in mind, here per @the-book-of-night-with-moon 's request is the famous soda bread recipe that brought people to the site again and again for a couple of decades. If the recipe below seems very plain, that's because the way soda bread is done in North America and elsewhere in the world is not how everyday soda bread's made in Ireland. No fruit, no sugar—except for an optional spoonful if the baker likes it: I omit it—no nuts or other similar addenda: nothing but flour, salt, soda and (ideally) buttermilk. (Breads here that do have fruit and whatnot are referred to as "tea breads" or "fruit soda".)
The ingredients:
450 g / 1 lb / approximately 3 1/4 cups flour (either cake flour or all-purpose)
Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Between 300-350 ml / approx 10-12 fluid ounces buttermilk, sour / soured milk, or plain ("sweet") milk, to mix
If you're using plain milk, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the dry ingredients. This is perfectly legit; lots of professional bakers in Ireland do their soda bread this way, without the buttermilk and with additional raising ingredients besides baking soda.
So: preheat your oven to 200C / 400F. Meanwhile, mix the dry ingredients together well in a good-sized bowl, and then add the liquid and mix everything together. Like this:

That raggedy texture you see in the middle of the video is exactly what you want, and part of the secret of getting soda bread to rise properly. You have to get the loaf done as quickly as you can, so that the rise in the oven is maximized; and with minimum handling. This isn't a bread that needs to be kneaded. Just get it into a soft, mostly-cohesive lump as quickly and gently as you can, and shape it into a round about an inch to an inch and a half thick.
Finally have ready a really sharp knife to do that final cross-cut, which allows the loaf to spread and rise fully. Be careful to slice, not press. You don't have to cut incredibly deep: from a third to halfway down the round is plenty. ...There's endless online lore about how this is supposed to let the fairies out. Fond as I am of fairies, I prefer to think of it as letting the chemistry and physics out. (shrug) To each their own.
As soon as the oven's come up to heat, shove the loaf into the center of the oven on a nonstick baking sheet—I used a silicone mat here, but more for the look of the thing than any real concern about the loaf sticking—and bake it for 40 minutes. When you're done, it should look something like the one in the picture at the top of the post. It'll be easier to eat if you let it cool down most of the way; and a lot easier to slice if you put it in a paper or plastic bag overnight.
Anyway, tomorrow, so @petermorwood won't sulk, I'll make soda bread in the farl style instead of the above style that some of the locals call "cake". Farl's done on a griddle and cut into quarters for baking, and its geometry makes it uniquely suited (as Peter's father used to say) for eating large amounts of butter without a spoon. :)

24 Hour Red Sauce
Since I am making this right now as I type, I thought I would share one of my sauce recipes. The long cooking time may seem daunting but that's also what makes it difficult to mess up. There are probably typos and I never before have written this down but here it is.
24 hour red sauce
People ask me sometimes “How did you make this sauce?” and I usually say something like, “Well, I cook it a really long time.” But now I will share, roughly, how I do make that sauce.
In spite of my part-Italian family, This is my recipe not a family one. My mother and Italian grandmother showed me how to make sauce but frankly, theirs was not that great. Okay, serviceable, not amazing. Perhaps, like many people I learned to cook at an early age because I didn’t like other people’s food. I went to one of those terrible schools where they would make you eat what they gave you. I’m stubborn and refused their overtures, and as I went forth in life I said no to many things. and thus never developed a taste for them. I’m basically the opposite of Anthony Bourdain.
Because I am a vegetarian, I would bring Lasagna or the like to holiday meals for friends and family and over time I endeavored to make a sauce that would stand up in lasagna, stuffed shells or other sauce killers. I make other sauces but this is the favorite of my friends because, I think, the long cooking time makes for a complex flavor.
I’m not the New York times, so this is a little rough in terms of measurements but the beauty of red sauce is that you taste as you go.
-7 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (I use Tuscan olive oil such as Vetrice for critical stuff but it can be waste of money in long cooking sauce. Any good olive oil with a little bite will work)
-2 28 oz cans of Bianco DiNapoli crushed tomatoes. (you can also use Sam merican, Mutti or what have you, but I like these best)
- 14 ounce Bianco DiNapoli whole tomatoes (opinions differ on crushed vs whole, I use a mix)
-25-35 cloves fresh garlic, finely chopped
-½ to 3/4 oz fresh basil leaves, chopped (this depends on how many stems you get and how pungent the basil is)
-Vegetable broth (this will add salt, if you want less salt use low sodium broth. If you’re not a vegetarian, you can use beef or chicken broth too).
-Full bodied red wine, like Cabernet, Merlot or Rojas. Don’t break the bank but don’t use something disgusting, you’re eating this.
-1 dried bay leaf (yes you have to)
-¾ teaspoon crushed red pepper (I use a whole teaspoon actually)
-½ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
-1 medium to large sweet onion
Get a big sauce pan because red sauce will splatter as cook it and it's easier if that doesn’t end up on your stove.
Chop the whole tomatoes (I do this by hand but you can use a food processor) set aside in a bowl.
Under low heat, put the olive oil in and add the garlic and the red pepper, saute a little until the garlic becomes a little glassy.
Add the crushed and chopped whole tomatoes, increase the heat to medium. Set aside the cans.
Peel your onion (you can use two if they are small) and chop it in half. Now look where the sauce comes up to in your cooking pot. Make a little mark (obviously on the outside) of your pot or just wing it.
Fill one empty can half way (14 oz) with vegetable broth and slosh it around to get the remaining tomatoes out of it. Add the black pepper and bay leaf and pour into the sauce.
Fill the other empty can half way with red wine (also 14 oz), a Cabernet is good here, slosh it around and add to the sauce. Now you have wasted nothing except your life cooking this sauce.
Add the two halves of your onion to the sauce. Stir in about half the chopped basil.
Cover the sauce with a lid with a hole in it or half cover it allowing some steam out and turn the stove way down below a simmer. You should even being seeing regular bubbles I the sauce at first and they shouldn’t be appearing rapidly ever.
Every hour tell Michael to stir the sauce (or do it yourself)
Pour a glass of wine and drink it.
Cook it half covered for 4-6 hours on as low heat as possible. You should see occasional bubbles. If the cooked sauce falls below the line you made on your cooking pot, you’re cooking it too fast, but no matter, if that happens, add a cup of 1/3 wine, 1/3 water and 1/3 broth and stir it in. Taste the sauce, it should be pretty good.
Go to bed and out the sauce in the ice box (My grandmother said Ice Box, refrigerator is what it means).
When you get back up in the afternoon (if you get up early, who even are you) uncover the sauce and put it back on low heat simmering or below. Add another two cups of the wine-broth-water mixture and cook for another 5-8 hours. Remember to stir.
When the sauce tastes amazing and you can’t stop tasting it, remove the onions and bay leaf and throw them away. Turn the stove off. Add the rest of your fresh basil and stir it in. You don’t have to use all the basil but basil is not a bad thing. Let the sauce cool for at least an hour. Serve or store. Drink the remaining wine.
It’s actually difficult to ruin this sauce if you follow these guiding principles-
1- You want roughly the same amount of sauce you started with before you added the liquids (wine, water and broth). So you want to see about 50-65 oz of finished sauce depending on how thick you like it.
2- Cooking the onions provides the sweetness to take the acidity out of the sauce, if it’s not sweet enough to can add another onion but it should all even out with more cooking. More sugar will be released from the onions over time. The sauce should be spicy and somewhat strong and acidic but also smooth and flavorful. Add more of your liquids if the sauce is too thick, cook more if it’s too thin. Don’t use sugar.
3- The red wine is a big flavor in this, the alcohol will cook off but flavor is part of the dynamic. Sicilians will tell you to use paste, but that’s a different sauce.
4- I cook this sauce for as long as 24 hours but you don’t have to to make it good. It depends a lot on how high your heat is, how much liquid you use etc. but I would recommend no less than 7 hours of cooking. Otherwise the magic doesn’t happen.
5- Make this often, tweak to your taste, you will return to it each time affirming its power to sustain you in a harsh and unkind world.

Recipe for disaster
Pairings: Charles Leclerc x sister!reader, Arthur Leclerc x sister!reader
Warnings: Curse words, sibling insults.
Summary: Baking a cake with Leclerc 2, 3, & 4.
Authors note: I’ve seen so many siblings/friends on tiktok try this trend so this is my take on this trend but with our fav siblings.

“Ughh change the dang channel Arthur” The girl groaned finally having enough of her older brother hogging the TV, “Get outta my face” he replies rolling his eyes pushing her away.
“You are so selfish! You’ve been hogging the TV since Enzo left, which was 4 hours ago” she says snatching the remote away from him which resulted in the boy getting up and trying to snatch it back. “Give it back Y/N!” He says reaching out to get it. She leans back her hand away from his, only for the remote to be grabbed by someone else.
“Gosh you two are unbearable” Charles says rolling his eyes shutting the TV off. The two younger ones looked at him in disgust, “Ugh I hate when Charles actually starts acting like an Older sibling” Y/N says, “I know right? It dosent suit him at all” Arthur says, the two teaming up against Charles all of of a sudden.
“Excuse me? You should be greatful I’m doing this, your brains are rotting and frankly I can’t stand hearing you argue one more time, so we’re gonna do something, as a family, that dosent involve the TV” he says, “Fine, what would you like to do Charles” The Girl says taking a seat on the couch, Arthur took a seat next to her. The two looked at each other in annoyance before moving away from each other.
“Well, we should try baking a cake” Charles says enthusiastically, “a cake? Charles no offense but you guys do not know how to bake” the girl says snickering only to recieve a smack on the back of her head. “Arthur, I’m gonna kill you” she says before lunging on him, “alright that’s enough, Arthur go sit on the chair” Charles says, “This isn’t over” he says squinting his eyes at the girl to which she reciprocated by sticking her tongue out.
“Anyways, we’re gonna bake a cake but one of us will be blinded, one of us will be deaf, and one of us will be mute” Charles said. “Respectfully, no Thankyou” Arthur says, “What why?” He asks him.
“I can’t stand Y/N when she’s fully capable of doing things, I don’t have that type of patience” he says getting up to walk to his room, Y/N scoffed “Bitch” she whispered under her breath, “Tur… I didn’t want to resort to this but if you don’t do this, I’m gonna tell Maman that you’re the one who broke her vase” Charles says, He gasps, “You wouldn’t” He says, “He might not, but for sure will” The Girl says giving him an evil smile, “Ugh fine” He says succumbing to the request against his own will.
While Arthur and Charles went to the store to get the stuff for the cake, Y/N took out all the utensils, bowls, and other stuff, she even made 3 chits to make it even on who gets to be what. About 30 minutes later, the brothers return and Y/N has changed into an old T-shirt that she doesn’t really care about. Alas, the siblings were ready to pick their chits and get started on the cake.
“Y/N you should pick last” Arthur says, “Don’t we all pick at the same time?” Charles asks, “She could have sabotaged it to get the one she wants” he says eyeing her suspiciously, “Arthur has anyone ever told you how annoying you are?” She says shaking the bowl with chits, “No, because I’m not” He replies, she rolls her eyes before letting the boys before her pick their chits.
“We open it at the same time ok?” Charles says, When Y/N grabs hers, the three open it at the same time. “Hah! I get to listen to music while I do this” The Girl says happy she got the loud music option, “I cant talk” Charles says groaning, “You think that’s bad? I have to blindfolded! She cheated I demand a redo” Arthur says putting his paper back in the bowl, “It’s not my fault you’re such a sore loser” she says, “Guys it’s fine, let’s just get started on this cake” Charles says officially being done with his younger siblings.
Little did Charles know that baking this cake was the worst decision he could have ever made in his life. With Arthur not being able to see, Y/N not being able to hear, and him not being able to speak, this was for sure gonna be a distaster.
As Arthur grabbed the eggs, well as he attempted to grab it he struggled considering he couldn’t see, “Can someone give me the egg” He asked, “WHAT?” Y/N screamed not being able to hear anything, “Damn stop yelling” He says, Charles visibility rolling his eyes, that didn’t go unnoticed by the youngest Leclerc, “Can someone please Hand me the egg already” Arthur said. Charles handed the egg, Only for Arthur to completely miss the bowl, “Oh you dumbass” Y/N said slapping her hand on her forehead, “What? What happened” Arthur questioned, Charles pushed him out of the way.
“TUR YOU GOTTA STAY AWAY FROM HERE” The Girl says before grabbing a paper towel and cleaning the dropped egg. Little by little the siblings worked their way into making a heart shaped, vanilla flavored cake.
“Now this is the hard part, the decorating” the girl sighed, “hand me the icing” Arthur said, “ARTHUR SPEAK UP” she says, “I SAID HAND ME THE ICING” he says, matching her volume. “OHHH” as she was about to Charles stopped her, shaking his head no, she put the icing back down.
“Hello? Charles? Y/N?” He asks, “WE GOTTA WAIT FOR THE CAKE TO COOL DOWN” Y/N says, the siblings waited and waited, with a lot of ups and downs (Arthur making a mess, Y/N screaming and Charles being a victim) the siblings were finally done. They took of their headphones, blindfold, and cloth off. “Finally lord” Charles says, “This was your idea, and it was the dumbest idea ever” Arthur says rolling his eyes, “It was actually fun, I wish Enzo could be here too, I rarely get to see you guys nowadays” the girl says her mouth spilling all of her heart’s secrets.

FEEL BETTER CHICKEN SOUP
Today I woke up and felt a little ill. So I decided to make myself some good old feel-better chicken soup.
Being mixed, I've always grown up with two different versions of chicken noodle soup, so eventually when I grew up I just combined the two! Hispanic chicken soup usually uses tomatoes sazón, adobo, chicken thigh, lemon, and rice, but American chicken soup usually uses noodles, chicken breast, plain broth, salt, pepper, and celery.
So here's one way to twist the two together.
This recipe is pretty easy to make when you don't have a lot of energy because there is about an hour and a half of cooking where you can just sit down and relax while doing it.
3-4 Chicken Thighs or Legs (I prefer bone-in because it has more flavor and is more tender.)
3 tbsp Garlic honey (works well if fermented, it's fun and easy to make your own!) - Healing, Protection, Purification
One Goya Sazon Packet
1 Bay Leaf - Protection, Healing, Purification
1/2 Cup Baby Carrots (You could just chop up a regular carrot too lol)
1 yellow Onion
2 tsp grated Ginger - Cleansing, Energy, Healing
Half a bag of egg noodles (You could also use rice) - Longevity
4 cups chicken broth
2 green onions
Chicken Seasoning:
4 cloves garlic  - Protection, Healing
1/8 cup chopped parsley - Protection, Strength
1/2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp adobo seasoning
1 tbsp thyme - Healing, Abundance, Health, Prosperity
2 tsp basil flakes - Abundance, Prosperity 
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper - Banish Negative Energy
Juice of half a lemon - For Healing
Hot Scallion Oil:
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp green onion
DIRECTIONS:
Blend the chicken seasonings listed above in a blender or in a mortar and pestle. Whichever you prefer. Rub on chicken and fry in a pot with oil until each side is browned. About 4 minutes on each side.
Add in yellow onion, ginger, and garlic honey, and cook until soft. Add in carrots and chicken stock. Add in Bay leaf and goya season packet. Cook for about an hour.
Add in green onions, and taste if the soup needs more seasoning. If it does, season to taste. Simmer for another 20 minutes.
When the chicken is tender enough to where it is falling off the bone, remove the chicken from the bone and discard the bones and bay leaf.
Add in egg noodles and cook for 7-9 minutes with the lid on, until the noodles are cooked.
Heat up 2 tbsp of oil until very hot. Add in green onion and cook for a little under a minute.
Laddel soup into a bowl and top with a spoonful of scallions and scallion oil.
Enjoy!

Huh. Realized I made a soup from leftovers that would make a pretty decent beginner soup.
Leftover Turkey Pot Pie Soup
The goal of this soup is to be (relatively) quick and easy to prepare and to make use out of leftover poultry. It relies pretty heavily on pre-made ingredients (though you can make those ingredients yourself if you want to)
Ingredients:
Pre-cooked turkey or chicken (one large turkey breast, two medium chicken breasts). You can use leftovers, a grocery store rotisserie chicken, or, optionally, uncooked frozen chicken breasts or thighs. The poultry should not be breaded and the skin should be removed; if you are using uncooked frozen poultry you may want to taste more carefully and make sure to season sufficiently.
64oz poultry or vegetable stock (I used the stock I made out of turkey carcasses and my stock bags of kitchen trimmings from the freezer, but store bought is fine) (if you do not want to or cannot use stock, you can also just use water but you will likely have to add more spices and I would recommend adding one extra carrot and one extra onion)
3tbsp Cooking oil (can be olive oil or canola oil or butter - use what you've got handy and what tastes good to you, you don't have to buy something special for this)
1 cup of frozen peas
2 large carrots coarsely chopped
2 large onions coarsely chopped
3 tbsp cooking starch (most people use corn starch, I use potato starch because of food allergies. Any neutrally flavored starch is fine, but do not use flour).
1/2 cup milk/half and half/cream (you can use a combination or just one of these, it depends on what's in your kitchen and what taste you prefer)
Poultry seasoning (pre-made mix; alternately you can add sage, rosemary, and marjoram to taste. I added poultry seasoning then added extra sage and rosemary)
Salt
Black pepper
Paprika
Garlic powder
3 Bay Leaves
1tsp dried Parsley
Tools:
4-6 quart stock pot with a close-fitting lid
Chef's knife (for chopping vegetables and poultry)
Cutting board
Large cooking spoon
Small bowl
Fork or small whisk
Before you cook:
Read the entire recipe and check that you have all the tools and ingredients listed in your kitchen and ready for use.
Prep your kitchen - make sure there's room in the trash can, that the sink is clear of dishes, and that there is a burner on the stove clear for your pot. Designate a space close to the stove as your working area and set your cutting board there so you can easily transfer from your cutting board to the pot.
Gather your ingredients - make sure that you've got all the tools and ingredients listed. If you want to, you can take the time to measure out everything at this stage and have it ready to go in the pot.
Prep your ingredients - wash and chop your carrots, peel and chop your onions. Remove the skin from your poultry (if frozen, set the poultry aside, you will do something slightly different) and chop into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking Instructions:
Turn the heat on your stove to medium and warm the oil up in the bottom of the pan. Once it is shimmering and flowing easily, add the chopped carrots and onions to the pan.
Add a small amount of each of your seasonings to the pot - no more than half a teaspoon of each at this stage - and stir them in with the vegetables.
Stirring continuously, heat the vegetables and spices until the onions are softened and translucent.
If you are using pre-cooked poultry, add it to the pot and stir it in with the vegetables and spices (if you are using raw frozen poultry, don't add it to the pot yet). Add in the frozen peas at this point.
Add your broth or stock to the pot and stir, using your spoon to scrape the bottom of the pot to make sure nothing is sticking to the bottom. Add the bay leaves to your pot. Increase the heat to high and watch the pot until it comes to a boil.
If you are using raw frozen poultry, NOW add the frozen meat (whole breasts or thighs still frozen) to the pot and bring to a boil. For raw frozen poultry ONLY keep the pot covered at a boil for thirty minutes, watching to make sure it doesn't boil over. Once the poultry has cooked for thirty minutes, use your spoon to remove the pieces from the pot and set them on your cutting board, then cut them into bite-sized pieces. Instructions are the same regardless of what meat you're using after this step.
Once the previous steps are finished, reduce the heat to a low simmer and cover the pot. Let simmer for half an hour.
Taste the soup and add spices and seasonings as needed. You will probably want to add more salt first, half a teaspoon at a time. Add in your salt then stir and simmer for five minutes before tasting again. Repeat as needed, adding spices in small amounts to adjust the flavor as you go.
Once the flavor is close to right, mix the milk and the starch in a small bowl, whisking thoroughly to ensure that there are no lumps. Gradually add the starch slurry to the soup a few tablespoons at a time. Stir between increments, checking for thickness. When the soup is at the desired thickness (should be quite thick, like what you would find inside of a pot pie) taste test the soup and adjust spices as needed.
Add parsley and do a final taste test, simmer for five minutes before serving.
If you want, you can let the soup cool and fill a pre-made pie crust with it (top and bottom crust, making sure to leave holes for venting) then bake in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
For the slurry, I like to use 2:1 liquid to starch when mixing an use half and half for the slurry but add a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream after the soup has started to thicken; this is totally optional and if you just go based on what's in the recipe you should be fine.
How to make homemade stock, if you want to:
as you cook over the course of several weeks, gather things like onion tops, the ends of tomatoes, wilty celery, and whatever other safe-to-eat but unpleasant vegetable trimmings you've got and add them to a 1-gallon freezer bag.
Keep the bag in the freezer and add stuff until the bag is full. Once it's full, or if you happen to have a chicken or turkey carcass and a mostly-full bag, add the frozen trimmings and any meat trimmings or carcasses you have to a large stock pot (at least a two gallon pot).
Add in a few cloves of garlic and a few bay leaves
Add in water until the vegetables and trimmings are completely covered.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and let simmer for a minimum of two hours.
Turn off the heat and let cool
Spoon or strain out the solids - one way to do this is to pour from the pot into a collander and into another large pot. You can also use a slotted spoon or a strainer or ladle out the liquid from the stock pot, but you want to discard the solids and keep the liquids.
Skim excess or undesired fat off of the stock and discard.
Ladle or pour the stock into containers for storage. I like to use cleaned salsa jars and leave about 20% of the space in the jar free, then freeze the stock in jars so I can use it whenever I want to.
If you aren't freezing the stock, use it within two weeks.

“Just trust me. I’ve watched my mom make these a million times. I could make them with my eyes closed, even while sleeping!” Haechan had reassured. And you went along, following his directions, setting the heat on the oven, getting out the trays and the appliances to start making the cookie dough.
“So we need, one stick of butter and 2 cups of sugar first,” he mumbled to himself, plopping in a cold stick of butter and the full 2 cups of sugar into the mixing bowl. The mixer turned on and immediately started throwing around the hard stick of butter and flinging sugar out of the mixing bowl. “Huh, it never does this at my mom’s.”
“Are you sure the butter didn’t need to be melted or room temperature at least?” You ask cautiously.
“Hush! I need to melt the butter. I’m so smart,” he tells himself with a smug smile while he plops the butter into a bowl. Haechan throws it into the microwave uncovered for entirely too long, leaving behind butter splattered throughout the inside of the microwave.
The mixer turns on again while you clean up the greasy mess, “Now we add 3 eggs, four and a half tablespoons of vanilla, and slowly add in the flour and salt mixture.”
You watch in a mix of apprehension and intrigue while he adds only one cup of flour to the batter and begins mixing on high speed.
“So, why couldn’t your mom make the cookies this year?” You ask over the sound of the mixer.
He rolls his eyes, “They decided to go on a tropical vacation this year for Christmas and I’m upholding tradition. She sent me the recipe, but I already know what I’m doing.”
You know he doesn’t know what he’s doing. The mixture is looking far too loose and wet compared to the cookies his mom has made every year during the holidays. You also know that for the last two Christmases you’ve been dating Haechan, he has been nowhere near the kitchen while the cookies are being made because his official job is “taste tester.” A job, his mother had told you last year, that was given to him so he would stop eating the cookie dough before it was baked. You just knew this batch of cookies was going to be bad.
“Usually my mom rolls these out so we can decorate, but I say that’s too much work. I’ll do some regular circles and only do a few with the cookie cutters,” he tells you while he pours the cookie dough out onto the un-floured counter top. That’s going to be a pain to scrape up.
The dough really looks more like a dense cake batter. There’s too much egg and not enough flour, you think he even added milk for some reason. You had tried earlier to show him another recipe and give input while he pulled out the ingredients but he told you he knew, and you just gave up.
To no one’s surprise the cookie cutter cookies did not keep their shape and all the cookies had spread from being too wet. The end result was a thin, crispy disc of… ingredients that looked nothing like his mom’s cookies.
“So… I suppose I did need the recipe,” Haechan smiles sheepishly, staring at the sheet tray of “cookies.”
You look at him incredulously, “Do you really think so? This one has egg shell in it, they’re all flat and nearly burnt. Are you sure you’ve watched your mom do this a million times?”
“Yeah… I lied about that. I’ve definitely eaten them about a million times, but watching her make them makes me hungry so I come back to give them a taste test. I figured it couldn’t be too hard,” he shrugs.
“She sent us the recipe earlier! All you had to do was look at the recipe!”
He waves you off, and reaches for a “cookie.” “I’m going to let my baking do all the talking,” he says before taking a bite. You watch his eyes widen at the unexpected crunchy texture. He crunches on the cookie and swallows with a grimace. “Delicious.”
You sigh deeply, “Clean up your mess while I write down the recipe.”
Haechan salutes while mumbling about how the “cookie” was stuck to his teeth and tasted like salty egg. You roll your eyes, transcribing the recipe onto a piece of paper. A recipe with more flour than sugar, no salt, one egg, and not half a bottle of vanilla extract.
Once the mess is cleaned up, you start measuring out the ingredients, “This time you’re listening to me. I don’t want to hear a peep from you about what I’m doing wrong. Got it?”
He nods at you and begins following your directions. He lowers the temperature on the oven, lines the baking sheets with parchment paper, and sprinkles flour onto the counter. This time making the cookies goes by much more smoothly and looks like what cookie making is supposed to look like.
You sit side by side on the floor in front of the oven as the cookies bake. You watch them slowly rise and spread just slightly, looking almost identical to the cookies Haechan’s mom makes every year.
“Thank you for making them for me,” he tells you softly, pulling your hand into his lap after pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it.
You lay your head on his shoulder, eyes locked on the glass of the oven, “Thanks for including me in your tradition.”

second microfic posted today, only because i want to keep up with the dates for all of them lol and i genuinely am procrastinating uni work

So, Regulus can safely say that making a cake is harder than he thought.
It’s not like he’s not following the recipe—he is. He scoured the internet two days ago for a good Devil’s Food cake recipe, eventually finding one he could follow along well enough; he even stopped by the supermarket on his way home from work yesterday to get all the ingredients, writing a list and ticking items off he as went to make sure everything was accounted for.
He’s being thorough, meticulous.
But he’s never baked anything before, and, with rapidly dawning fear, he realises he’s greatly underestimated the skill that goes into it.
Dread, and the crippling desire to make this cake perfect for James, leads Regulus to run flour-dusted fingers through his hair as he squints at the recipe for the buttercream. The recipe tells him not to “over-whip”, but how is he supposed to know what that means? He’s just thankful that James, clearly the cook in this household, has all the equipment and devices needed to bake, so at least he’s got that.
By the hob, two halves of something that resembles a cake cool on a wire rack. They don’t look exactly like the picture, but hopefully it will still taste good. Hopefully.
To be honest, Regulus will be pissed if it doesn’t, as the kitchen is … Well. He glances away from the stand mixer mixing the buttercream ingredients together to stare at the evidence of what he’s been doing this afternoon.
Used bowls and utensils overflow in the sink. The majority of the countertops are clustered with baking ingredients: the bag of flour still open next to the cocoa powder; the egg box flipped open with two eggs missing. If Regulus were to run a finger over the surface, he’d probably find it dusted with a fine layer of flour too, as he learnt the hard way that one has to open a bag of flour slowly.
James usually keeps it spotless, and whilst he doesn’t forbid Regulus from cooking—actually he wholeheartedly encourages it, gazing dreamy-eyed as Regulus tries to focus on what he’s doing and not imagine having him for dessert instead—there’s the unspoken implication that the kitchen is James’ playground, whilst the study/library is Regulus’.
But he’ll clean it all up. He has still an hour and a half before James is due to get back home from work, which is plenty of time to figure out this icing problem, put the cake together, and for Regulus to clean up.
There’s a nervous feeling of anticipation in his stomach when he switches off the mixer, peering in at the icing. It looks good actually, and he breathes a sigh of relief. Okay, this might work.
Just then, one of their two cats, Leo, walks into the kitchen, followed by the other, Astraeus. James had named the former, a gorgeous white cat with one black spot at the base of his tail, and Regulus had named the latter, a Russian Blue with glowing yellow eyes that, when they were adopting cats, Regulus insisted he couldn’t leave behind.
“Hello, you two,” he says, picking up Astraeus and planting a kiss between the cat’s ears before setting her back down again. Leo, always craving being the centre of attention, hops up onto the counter.
Regulus is about to fuss him, too, when he hears the scrape of a key in the front door lock, indicating James is home. Panic flares in his chest, because Regulus is nowhere near done with this cake, and it’s going to spoil the surprise.
“Hi, love!” James calls out, the door closing behind him.
“Hey!” Regulus calls back, glancing around at the kitchen. “Shit, shit, shit,” he mumbles under his breath.
At the sound of their other father’s voice, Leo scrabbles into action. In his haste, he knocks into the bag of flour, sending it flying onto the floor—
And exploding everywhere with a loud thud.
“What the hell?” James exclaims from the hallway. “Reggie? Are you okay?”
Spooked, and probably scared of the consequences of his actions, Leo flees, knocking over—it really can’t get any worse, can it?—the box of eggs as he does so. Astraeus, pinning her ears to her head, follows instantly.
And Regulus? Heart literally jumping into his mouth, he manages to catch the eggs in time, only one of them cracking in its cardboard container. Putting them safely back on the counter, he sighs and rests his forehead on the cool surface, taking a deep breath in before answering, “Yeah. I’m okay,” and then turning around to assess the damage.
The bag of flour has well and truly split everywhere, sending white fireworks all over the floor and up the sides of the cupboards. It genuinely looks like a small flurry of fine, powdery snow has blown into the kitchen, as if every single piece of flour has expelled itself from the bag.
James darts around the kitchen doorframe, concern and worry written into the lines of his face, mouth open to ask if Regulus is okay again, when he freezes at the state of the kitchen.
For a second, he doesn’t say anything. Regulus can feel his heart thundering beneath his chest, loud like a drumbeat. Fuck, he’s in so much trouble. He watches James’ eyes flick from the flour-y explosion on the floor, to the cake cooling on the side, to the unwashed pans in the sink, and then back to Regulus.
Guilt floods through him. He should’ve just gotten a store-bought cake instead. He needn’t have gone to all this trouble, all this hassle, spent all that money, wasted all this time, because now their kitchen is an absolute mess, and they’re going to have to spend James’ birthday cleaning it up.
He almost expects a reprimand when James opens his mouth again, prepares himself for it, his body tensing, eyes narrowing, bracing himself for the reprimand to come—
He does not expect James to burst out laughing.
“Oh my God, Reg,” James wheezes, pressing a hand to his mouth. “You— there’s flour all over you …”
Looking down at himself, Regulus groans to find that it’s gotten on him too, though thank God he’s wearing an apron. “Jesus.”
Still laughing, James crosses over, cupping Regulus’ face in his hands. “I’m not talking about the apron, love. It’s,” he gets out between laughs, “it’s on your face. In your hair. What— What have you been doing?”
Fighting a smile, Regulus lets James brush flour from his cheeks and get it out of his hair, and then jerks his face away. “I was trying to make you a cake for your birthday, but, uh. I guess it took a turn. Leo got excited to see you. And you’re home early.”
“They let me go early,” James explains.
“Oh,” Regulus says. And then, because he has to ask, “You’re— not mad?”
“Mad?” James echoes, confused. “Reg, this— is hilarious. I’m flattered, and so, so happy that you went to all this effort for me. You didn’t have to do that.”
“But it’s your birthday. Happy birthday,” Regulus says, as if he didn’t whisper it into James’ ear this morning. The relief that James isn’t mad at him makes his knees buckle.
“Thank you, my beloved,” James tells him, turning to the cake on the side. “Is this chocolate cake?”
Regulus nods. “Devil’s Food cake to be precise. I looked up a recipe. I don’t know if it’s any good, but …”
The smile on James’ face could light up Regulus’ night. He steps over to the icing bowl. “This the icing?” and before Regulus can reply, he dips his finger in and licks it off. Regulus’ eyes widen.
“This is good, Reg. Like, really good. You know, you could actually be a good baker.”
“You think so?”
James comes back over to his side, this time cornering Regulus against the counter, one that is, thankfully, empty. “Definitely.”
It’s a long while before they clean up the flour on the floor.

Rosemary Drop Biscuits
Every year, I put together a spread for each of the equinoxes and solstices. This is the first recipe in a new series for this year's Spring Equinox. My focuses for the meal are growth, prosperity, peace, happiness, and celebration. You’ll see that reflected in all of these recipes.
I’m publishing this recipe first, because I’ll be making it first. Anytime I make a big meal, I like to do my baking ahead of time to save space and ensure it’s done at the same time as the meal. But also, I find it’s a great opportunity to prime the kitchen for cooking in quantity. The goal is to cleanse and prepare the area without scouring the energy, something I use rosemary for frequently in a variety of ways.
This recipe is ultra-simple and comes together within half an hour. I suggest making it right before you cook the rest of your meal, but you can make it earlier in the day or even the day before.
Ingredients:
2 c All-Purpose Flour
1 T Baking Powder
1 t Salt
1 T Dried Rosemary
1/2 c Butter, cold
3/4 to 1 c Milk
2 T Butter, melted (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the over to 450 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and rosemary.
Cut in the cold butter.
Add the milk slowly until just combined and the batter is thick and lumpy.
Drop about a quarter cup of batter at a time onto a prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden.
Optionally, brush the warm biscuits with melted butter.
Recipe Notes:
There are a few methods to cut in the butter. You can grate it into the bowl, use a fork, or use a pastry cutter to do so. Be sure that the butter is very cold for this step. This is what gives the biscuits their flaky, buttery texture once baked.
These biscuits will keep for a few days in an air-tight container. They make excellent companions to leftover gravy!
Magic Notes:
Rosemary is one of those swiss army knife ingredients to me. It has a place in so many recipes and spells, and with good reason. Here, I’m leveraging the cleansing aspect for my Spring Equinox spread. I plan on making these biscuits first to prepare the kitchen for cooking the rest of the meal. This cleanses the air and oven of any lingering energy from other workings, leaving behind a relatively clean slate for me to work with.
I also like to make rosemary-based breads or rolls whenever my space needs a refresh. It’s a gentle cleanser that won’t scour away the cast-iron-like seasoning of the space. Rather, it sweeps away the excess and leaves the kitchen (and adjoining rooms) feeling light and fresh. Some cleansing rituals can be irritating to resident spirits; in my experience, this particular recipe is generally spirit-friendly…
…Especially if you plan on offering one to the spirits! These biscuits make excellent altar offerings. As mentioned above, I’ll be making these first for my spread. Part of that ritual is offering the first biscuit on my spirit work altar for my allies to enjoy. Invite them into the space to partake, and offer space in the kitchen while you cook the rest of the meal.
Consider the properties of the humble biscuit. Thick, flaky, absorbent. In a meal, they soak up rogue gravy and are slathered with butter and other rich deliciousness on the plate. I try to have a biscuit or roll in any large spread, because there’s always energy lost at the table. These biscuits serve the purpose of soaking up anything that escapes from other dishes so that the person enjoying the meal doesn’t miss out on any of the energy on offer.
After you make your biscuits, take time to clean your kitchen surfaces. Wipe away any rogue flour, sweep the floors, and give everything at least a quick once-over. Then, you’ll be ready to work on the rest of your meal — or go about your day, depending on when you make these.

Hazbin Hotel Headcanons:D
That I collected through the internet and now have and absolutely adore. Feel free to add yours:)
Warning for cannibalism and possible spoilers. Enjoy:)
Alastor
1) Alastor rather eats meat of his possible victims than organs. He finds them edible, but just doesn’t like it.
2) Alastor never shares his food. And even when/if he is cooking something for others, he will cook the same food in the separate bowl just for himself.
3) Even if Alastor fell in love he would never(or really unlikely) realise that. Possibly because his own ego and beliefs.
4) Alastor sometimes fantasises about him being executed rather than his own original death. His favourites so far: hanging and electric chair.
5) Alastor would have a love/hate relationship with Will Wood’s music(yes.) just because he despises and underastimates all modern music.
6) Alastor has literal piles of old(and sometimes broken)radios.
7) Alastor hates discussing love and relationships, if they’re not about breaks up, while Rosie adores talking about them.
8) Sometimes Alastor cannot control his shadow. In terms of where it goes and what it does. So yeah, sometimes he walks around without shadow.
Rosie
1) The stuff Rosie proposed to Charlie when they met was prepared by herself.
Also I think Rosie can cook anything(aside from bones perhaps). She knows a lot of recipes about how to cook organs, different types of seasonings, etc.
2) Rosie has Belgic roots. Or French. I feel like she speaks French and maybe Italian or something. I haven’t decided.
3) Rosie only likes to drink dry semi-sweet wine among the alcohol beverages.
4) If Rosie would ever open a fashion business, all her clothes would be with embroidery. She loves embroidery and is pretty good at making it.
The Vees
1) Vox has a love/hate relationship with an electro swing. He likes it, but also “hates” it just because Alastor also likes it. He also likes dubstep and techno genres.
2) Valentino’s afraid of tickling.
3) Val’s also absolutely cannot sleep with the lights turn on, because he’s a moth.
4) Vox was absolutely horrified when he got to Hell and realised that he’s a fucking TV. If there wasn’t a constant danger of getting killed, he would probably sit in the corner of some building in shock.
5) Velvete uses Vox as powerbank.
6) Valentino’s eyesight got worse especially after he realised that he can use Vox’s head when he’s asleep, so now he kinda watches whatever he wants on his head when he’s bored.
7) And also Val and Velvete play the console using Vox(ye, the comic:))
8) In earlier days Vox was absolutely disgusted by someone touching his screen(in first days(look up #4) himself included), but as the time went and also the upgrade, change in themes, he kinda suppressed this disgust.
9) Velvete likes strawberry in chocolate.
10) Vox can draw decently, he just usually doesn’t have time and much imagination to do so.
11) Also Vox has a bad habit of tearing paper to keep his hands busy. By that I mean any paper. So yeah. There were some accidents.
Residents of the Hotel
1) Residents of the Hotel bump into Nifty at least two time per day.
2) Sir Pentious hates stairs.
3) One of the reasons why Husk hates his form is because he cant stop throwing off hairballs.
4) Angel can keep important secrets.
5) Nifty and Charlie both likes those bright and colourful plasters.
6) Vaggie is allergic to citruses(lightly but still).
7) Cherri makes her coffee with energy drinks. Tastes awful, but at least she’s full of energy to kick someone’s ass.
8) Husk knows a lot of card games and also taught the Eggbois how to play couple of them so they’d stop bothering him so much.
9) When he was alive, Husk used to travel and move from one country to another quite often.
10) Sir Pentious when he has a shower, always takes his Eggbois with himself.
11) The reason why Sir Pentious’ ship was covered with plasters was because his Eggbois thought they would actually heal it.
12) Lucifer will never admit that process of making ducks stopped bringing him as much happiness as it used to. But after seven years of just making them, trying to keep his mind off his problems, it just became a routine.
13) One of the reasons why Lilith decided to “disappear” was because at night Lucifer constantly stepped on his ducks and then screamed and cried and apologised to them, making it harder to sleep.
14) Charlie used to make little theatre shows with her toys when she was younger.
15) When Vaggie and Charlie’s relationship got a little more established, they had a whole trip through rings of Hell.
16) Lucifer has a handmade duck copy of every person that he met. He made the most absurd one for Alastor, of course
17) Angel is scared of swallowing bubblegum, because he genuinely believes that his gut will glue together if he does so.
18) Vaggie can’t stand sleeping covered.
Other Overlords
1) Zestial is a tea nerd. I think he would actually do those Chinese ceremonies and stuff. It’s like… the more he appreciates you, the more effort he would put into tea x)
2) Carmilla was(and maybe is?) a big fan of ballet and took classes when she was alive.
Other
1) Adam would love Beetlejuice. In any form, cartoon one, film, musical… He would be a fan.
2) Adam hates waking up at the morning and tells to “fuck off I’m a Gods fucking son” to anyone who tries to wake him up.
3) Adam hates tomatoes and will absolutely roast anyone who eats them when he’s near. Except for Lute.
4) When Heavens court plans to set up a party they usually don’t plan to invite Sera and St Peter.
5) Mimzy is the one who talks about her previous life more than anyone else, each time adding almost unrealistic details.
6) Adam calls his Exterminators group "tits" for because they are woman and there's a bird like that.
6)(this one is to Hell in general) I like to think that you don't die in Hell in a way that when you recieve a deadly wound your body just kinda... gets more regeneration, so you still feel pain untill the wound is healed, but you don't die. So when Exterminators stab sinners with angelic weapons, process of regeneration stops, which gives them opportunity to die.
7) Though Vox created his own special kind of dying for himself. When his screen gets badly damaged, he changes it, so same goes with his body. I think he has a folder somewhere with his personality.

SO, “what goes into Fried Beetroot Sticks?” YOU MIGHT ASKSlices of sweet little beated root dipped into a batter with, watch out, special flavors too.
2 Beetroots
Corn flour
Salt 
Red Chilli Powder
Garlic Paste
Baking Soda
Water
Peanut oil
And we'll also be making some horseradish sour cream dip to go along with it;
Sour cream
Prepared horseradish
1 Green onion 
Few splashes of lemon juice
Salt to taste
Ground pepper to taste

But maybe its just because its fried food? American brained, sorry.
Retains the inherit sweetness to beetroot
And similar to pickled beetroot the sweetness contrasts the spicey of the batter
(which i encourage you to amp up if youd like more spice)
The horseradish sourcream dip is to die for
Measure with your heart for that one, and save some green onion to top it with when you serve
This would pair very well with a lime italian soda or with shaved ice cones
Im always very anxious about deep-frying things, or working with oils at high temperatures, but i didnt run into any complications with this dish. Just make sure to keep best practices and safety precaution in mind, especially with a wok as it can tilt!
. If you dont have corn flour, you can substitute all-purpose flour . If you dont have peanut oil, look up oils with the same smokepoint to decide what else to use

The recipe stuck out to me, as i was assembling a list of foodstuffs from tolkiens work, for being such a "regular" named food. Also its worth 19 silver 69 copper in the LotR MMO and im immature.
I think the dip has the most room for improvement and tinkering. I've never made horseradish sourcream before, so more practiced tastebuds could perfect a simple thing like this. In the future id also like to try adding red pepper flakes along with the the powder and garlic paste, to give more visual variety and spice. I think cumin in the batter would be a nice midtone flavor too.
I give this recipe a solid 8/10 (with 1 being food that makes one physically sick and 10 being food that gives one a lust for life again.) for its relative simplicity and modularity with things you could add.
🐁 ORIGINAL RESIPPY TEXT BELOW 🐁
Beetroot Sticks Ingredients:
2 Beetroots
130 grams corn flour
1 tbsp salt 
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Garlic Paste
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
178 grams Water
432 grams peanut oil
Horseradish Sour Cream Ingredients:
225 grams Sour cream
200 grams Prepared horseradish
1 whole green onion (green and white parts VERY finely chopped)
1 tspn lemon juice
Salt to taste
ground pepper to taste
Beetroot Method:
Peel all beetroots and cut them length-wise into  rectangles.
Combine flour, salt, chilli powder, garlic paste, baking soda, and water in a bowl.
Mix well into a smooth batter.
Heat peanut oil to medium in a wok and dip beet roots into batter. Deep fry until golden brown in color.
Stack beetroots on paper-towel lined plates to cool and dry as you go.
Serve with horseradish sour cream!
Dip Method:
Mix all ingredients
Cover and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour for the flavors to blend.

Last Twilight Ep 4 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Mhok took Day out of the house to handle his withdrawal from university. The dean only allowed a temporary pause, encouraging Day not to give up on schooling or his future. While at school, Mhok made Day take him around a bit, but also helped shield him from encountering some of his friends before he was ready. Later, they went to a busy market to search for a book Day wanted on what was absolutely a date. Unfortunately, Mhok lost focus at one point and started fighting Porjai’s fiancé when he realized ole boy was stepping out on her. Mhok managed to find Day through the help of the hot pink shirt they had bought earlier, and then went home to Day’s worried family. The mom tried to fire Mhok, but Day stepped in and refused to let Mhok go.
“Do you even know how to flirt? I bet you don’t,” into Mhok putting the bowl of jasmine flowers in front of his nose. You both are fooling no one.
I like that Mhok is still taking Day out on trips, and I’m glad we’re using the He’s Coming to Me car.
Oh no, the intentionally bad singing. I almost never have to mute the singing, but did so here.
I love the dynamic between Porjai and Mhok. We almost never get to see exes with a functional friendship. That Mhok will likely end up with Day, and projecting a bit because of Namtam, we have bisexual exes with a good friendship. That feels special.
Day seems insistent about this friend thing, and it clearly touches Mhok.
Look at Day trying to get some details on Mhok by calling him Porjai’s boyfriend. He’s clever, but so is Porjai.
I’m always happy to see Film. I like this character already. She’s got a little bit of a chip on her shoulder that makes her seem tough.
I’m glad Day’s sense of humor has returned and he can tease Gee. That’s a good sign.
I like the show introducing new social challenges for Day every time he steps out a little bit to do something again. Telling Gee led to going to the gym, which led to an invite to a team event, and now he’s been faced with a fan.
I am very much looking forward to Day meeting August again.
Sea really has a great smile. He’s grown a lot as a performer since Vice Versa.
I also won first and second place trophies in national competitions. I feel for Day here.
I feel like I saw a recipe for this soup earlier today but cannot recall the name now.
This soft hands scene is GAY as hell!!

No, Day, please don’t make Mhok sing again. I’m enjoying the flirting enough!
I fully expected Mhok to sing the romantic song from the car and was not wrong. Oh, Aof.
I wonder how badly Day and August parted that he was so nervous about running into him today.

This really is one of my favorite shows airing right now. Aof has a strong handle on the pacing of relationships, and he loves when relationships work towards emotional closeness after another boundary is crossed.

that savory oatmeal sounds so damn good and im heartbroken that i dont have all the ingredients on hand right now!!!
my friend it is so fucking good, i will never go back to sweet oatmeal. the only reason i've been eating oatmeal at all is because 1. i need to eat the exact same minimal-effort breakfast every day or else i wont eat a meal until i get home and 2. it used to be an everything bagel with cream cheese until i lost a massive crown in one two months ago and the trauma of that gave me an aversion to it. this oatmeal fulfills both of those requirements.
that's just the basic recipe i use, there are more that i've never tried that use miso paste and mushrooms and spinach and shit. you can find more on google or pinterest but every single recipe starts with three paragraphs of the author being astounded that something as BIZARRE and EXPERIMENTAL as savory oatmeal could exist. who could think of such a thing!!!!!
i also make mine on the stovetop because no matter what i do my oatmeal will explode in the microwave.
my recipe:
1 cup liquid (could use 1/4 cup chicken broth to 3/4 cup water or 1/2 cup broth to 1/2 cup water)
1/2 cup steel-cut oats
salt, pepper, & garlic powder to taste
~2tbsp cheddar cheese
1 egg
1-2 chopped green onions
instructions:
measure the broth and water and add to a small saucepan. bring to a boil. once boiling, add the oats. add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. stir constantly for ~5 minutes or according to oats' packaging.
when the oatmeal is nearly done, fry the egg. add salt and pepper.
when the oatmeal's done, add to a bowl. add the cheese, then the egg. top with chopped green onions.
then fill the oatmeal saucepan with water right away otherwise cleaning it will be a nightmare.
