I really want to make writer friends so I’ve recently decided to involve myself more in the online space! Feel free to interact with the post if you’re a writing/writing craft blog so I can give you a follow!
About my writing / favourite genres to read
- Fairytales and folklore are very central in both my own writing and what I enjoy to read.
- Literary fiction with morally grey or even morally reprehensible characters.
- Mythology incorporated into the story.
- Classic and gothic literature are also some of my favourites to read!
- Fantasy (usually classics) and sci-fi, though I don’t write a lot of sci-fi myself.
- Not much of a romance reader, but I enjoy a good romance subplot and period pieces, as well as queer themes!
- Steampunk settings :)
About myself
I’m a norwegian-icelandic writer, but I primarily write in english. I’m a huge book lover and folklore enthusiast, to the point where I’m currently studying it in university. I’m also an artist in my spare time, and have an interest in philosophy, psychology and (personality) typology! I’m game tag friendly and more than happy to talk about writing craft and personal projects. Hopefully I’ll be able to make posts about my WIPs one day, but I’m hoping to make some friends on here regardless!

hey i'm chance! i've done a writeblr intro recently but i didn't like it, so this is take 2. here's the old one.

i tend to swear both on here and in my writing, so if you're sensitive to that, i don't think my blog or work is for you. i also use the word 'queer' a lot since i self-identify as such, when i do choose to self-identify.
i'm interested in so much, which would be impossible to fully state. there are so many new things out there and i love learning about them all!! this blog is mainly for writing but i'm not strict on that.
i also am pretty sure i'm neurodivergent (no diagnosis or anything yet) and tend to delve into hyper-fixations for weeks at a time. if i haven't posted for a while, it's probably because of one of my other hyper-fixations or school.
i'm going to college for my bachelor's in graphic design, which might make my responses during the school year delayed.
i'm always open to ask or tag games!! it might take me a few to respond but i'll respond.

you'll find a lot of diverse characters, the found/chosen family trope, romance or rom-com, angst, and references to actual history or historical events within my work. sometimes i throw in a little art fact since i'm an art student. in nearly every one of my works you can find a prominent lgbtq+ character, too.
i write for original works and fanfiction alike. i often alternate what project i'm writing on and tend to leave wips unfinished. there's no one specific fandom that i'm in since i tend to dabble in everything.

about me
my name is rownan, i am an 18 yr old (she/her) black theistic satanist, considering persuing writing as a career and maybe going to college for religious studies & creative writing! i truly enjoy writing—but dont do enough of it. crocheting is something i do quite often, my favorite movies are coraline, crimson peak, and the labyrinth. i also adore horror movies/psychological thrillers.
in terms of writing, i haven't found a niche of style just yet—so i won't classify my wips much further than fiction. i can say, that i have been writing more than i used to and i've enjoyed writing from a young age. i used to—like a lot of people—write fanfiction (i still consider going back to my roots at times 💀) but i have found some solace in writing the stories that come to mind. let me introduce you to some of them! (below the cut, of course)
my wips
black forrest cake
black forrest cake is sort of a wish fulfillment project. it stems from a strange experience i've had at my job (i work at a bakery) and the experiences i continue to keep having. so instead of committing arson, i am committed to writing. in this story we are following the mc rosemarie (food names in the bakery book, i know) as she realizes the owners of the small family owned bakery 'good intentions' aren't all good.
project labyrinth
this is a story i started early in the year and honestly haven't touched much. it is, as you can tell, based on the labyrinth—however there is very much so my own spin on things! it is one of my favorite movies, but i wanted a story with a villain as tall and alluring as gwendolyn christie, and as terrifying as the fae really are. this story is an amalgamation of sorts. i've somewhat woven in 'the chilling adventures of sabrina,' 'the labyrinth,' and creepy fae stories. we follow rumi blackwell, a generational witch who lives with her grandmother as children and oddly enough—adults begin to disappear. when her grandmother goes missing, rumi finds secrets buried in the garden, and hears strange whistling in the woods.
project tsa (the storm of aphrodite)
the storm of aphrodite is meant to be a story about the reincarnation of a goddess. our mc is venus (on the nose, i know. hush), whose best friend is ambrose (she calls him loki for his strange tongue and beautiful green eyes). ambrose tells her that 'the old gods are coming back', whatever that means. there are all sorts of magical things happening in new orleans.
project bloodstone
this one isn't quite as developed—but it is heavily inspired by castlevania and hozier 💀
secret project that i can't tell anyone much of anything about
all i can say is that it is based on the swan maiden mythos, and i am having a ball writing it! it will be revealed in time ♡
that is honestly all so far! i will eventually be giving my projects individual pages and playlists and posting more. we will have snippets and aesthetics. wordy as this was, i believe i have covered all the bases 💃🏾 see you later ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎♡

hello, hello my name is malika (she/her & an adult). a caregiver and aspiring author. i'm back on tumblr after a decade away (and a few years of burnout) to carve out a tiny, quiet corner here to document my writing journey and follow along with others' own journeys too.

high fantasy (for teens & adults) remains my first love and i adore the kind that dips its toes into other genres as well (from epic fantasies with just a hint of romance to full blown mysteries that just so happen to take place in a fantastical setting).
you're sure to find elements like morally gray characters on all sides of the conflict, enemies-to-[insert anything tbh], twists on classic fantasy tropes, friends-to-lovers, characters fighting like hell for their happy ending (or just a bittersweet one), friends-to-enemies, angsty angst, and analysis on the corruption of power and the pursuit of it in different forms all up in my work at different points as those are the things i love to read about too.
i have completed manuscripts and have even queried two of them in the past (ages ago lol). i am currently in the trenches midst of a rewrite for a ya fantasy that i will be pursuing traditional publication with.
misc. interests ✩
i have an intense unfulfilled wanderlust lol and will have pictures of travels to share one day. i looove movies (films, ~the cinema lol) and will ramble at length about them given any chance (started a youtube channel to do so and to eventually discuss books & vlog my writing journey there as well). i will be very annoying during oscar season lol. i am a top chef & masterchef connoisseur despite occasionally burning premade bagels. hozier should be in the acknowledgments of everything i write.
i am very much into interactive fiction (which is part of why i came back to tumblr). my favorites rn are wayfarer, infamous, when twilight strikes, and fields of asphodel. i have not been able to completely shake off my years-long kpop appreciation (taemin, nct 127, shinee, twice, nct dream, exo, bts). and i spend too much time on youtube in general (creators i watch the most: author liselle sambury, author lindsay puckett, withcindy, kennie jd, princess weekes, danny gonzalez, redacted audio, toonrifictariq, and j aubrey)

Introductions are a necessary evil.
Hello! 🙌🏾
You can call me Forte. I'm a Brazilian writer, essayist, and film screenwriter. My work is influenced by the new Latin American fiction of magical realism, post-boom literature, philosophy, and African diaspora culture. I write in Portuguese and English, and in addition to being an aspiring novelist, I’m also a sound technician, activist, and lover of good music.
I started writing as a teenager, mostly short stories. I was in the habit of keeping a journal at that time too—something about being able to write down my feelings helped me cope with them. In high school, I wrote more fanfiction than original fiction because it seemed like an easier and more comfortable genre for me. Fanfic is very forgiving, which made it a lot less intimidating than writing something new from scratch. After high school, I went on to college and got a degree in Film Studies. My focus was screenwriting, but I fell in love with being a boom op (audio technician) during my internships, so when I graduated, I pursued film production instead.
A few years later, I decided I wanted to be a writer again. And now I’m here back on Tumblr, sharing what I can.
This blog will be focused primarily on my two current work-in-progress, NOCT WIP and Saint WIP. They are both young adult novels, though they have different themes, settings, and tones. I plan on posting some snippets/excerpts of each periodically, along with character profiles, behind-the-scenes information, and general updates on how the process is going.
NOCT WIP is a dark academia novel set in a prestigious music conservatory. The story follows a music quartet through their senior year, focusing mainly on their relationship dynamics while also dealing with personal issues such as generational trauma, abuse, mental health problems, and grief.
SAINT WIP is a MM fantasy novel, following two young men in a city burning with revolutionary fervor. The story focuses heavily on political shenanigans, the relationship between class and power, and the struggle of identity and self-discovery. Demons, anarchy, and violence are woven throughout this one.
Both books are currently in early drafts, so please bear with me if I post anything unfinished or rough around the edges! But hopefully you'll enjoy reading what I've written so far.
I also write poetry, flash fiction and reviews on (rare) occasion. If you're interested in getting in touch, feel free to send me a message. I'm open to collaborations and commissions too, so let's talk!

Hi! I figure I should get back onto Writeblr now that I'm going to be a published author. :D
I'm Lee Ann Kostempski, an anarchist writer who specializes primarily in dark fantasy and horror, though I like to experiment in many genres. I'm also a librarian. Common themes in my writing include:

My biggest influences are Ursula K. Le Guin, adrienne maree brown, Mona Awad, and Margaret Killjoy.

SOULROT LULLABY -- a short cli-fi horror story about an Earthling forced to team up with a descendent of the wealthy humans who fled to Mars against an unexpected threat (completed & currently seeking a home for publication).
[CURRENTLY UNTITLED] -- a potential sequel to THE WORLD AS IT SHOULD BE following a disabled protagonist who flees life with the witch hunters when she realizes they would sooner kill her than protect her, and seeks shelter with witches (outlining).

A bit of backstory for this account. (Feel free to skip this and go straight into the intro below):
I made this blog ages ago to try and connect more with self shippers, but I ended up not doing anything with it because I became inactive in the self ship community (at least until now. I might make a separate blog for that later, but right now I’m focusing on some more important things in my life).
So I tried reforming this place into a “I’ll put whatever I want here” sorta thing, but once again became inactive. And now that Instagram (my main platform) has basically been rendered useless because of the tags not working anymore, I need to find a new “main” to talk about my writing and shit. So I’m trying for a third and hopefully final time to reform this blog, and turning it into a writing/oc blog. :b

💜 I primarily write adult oriented stories in the genres: crime, comedy, and sci-fi, while mixing in vintage/nostalgic elements from different time eras ranging from the 1920’s to the 2000’s. I also love playing Cupid and slipping in different romantic subplots with varying levels of spice.

My debut novel: "Villain vs. Villain and the Revitalization of the Transtemporal Case" is the first book in my illustrated, crime/comedy/sci-fi trilogy. It's currently on Amazon in ebook format, and on Goodreads. But I’m also in the works of getting the paperback out this month as well as the animated-ish book trailer.
It’s a story about a time travel scandal taking place in 2005. Jonathan, a black market salesman, is on a journey to clear his name and stop his brother from messing with the timeline. Along the way, he teams up with an undercover agent and go on wacky adventures together as they attempt to reach their goals and hopefully put a stop to their dimension’s demise.
⭐️ I also have a few random short stories on my website blog which can be found here, however, I’m highly considering re-working them as they are all unedited, probably full of errors, and I also wrote these anywhere from months to years ago, so I don’t think they properly represent my current writing all that well.
⭐️ Honorable mention to my Webtoon which you can find here. I haven’t posted anything yet, but have plans to do mini comics with the characters of my Villain vs. Villain trilogy as a way to explore ideas and backstories I couldn’t explore in the books themselves.

Distant screaming.
Too many my friend...too many. But my main WIP right now is book 2 of my Villain vs. Villain trilogy. I also have a 1920's crime/comedy/sapphic romance short story thingamajig I've got in development that I hope to publish next year. I simply don't have the time, money, or energy to publish book 2 next year as I originally planned, so hopefully this short story will fill in that publishing gap until I get my trilogy figured out.

💙 I love anything Y2K, scene, noir, neon, synthwave, cyberpunk, etc. You name the aesthetic, I probably like it. (I have waaaay too many eclectic interests and styles so I’ll probably look different in every photo, and I’m putting my bets on it that this account won’t have a concise theme either).
💙 I have a shih tzu/writing partner named Dakota who will sometimes appear on my account. (He loves contributing to my drafts by jumping onto my lap and slamming his paws and ass on my keyboard). Also ignore the half destroyed chair he’s sitting on. He’s responsible for said destruction and is proud of it.
💙 I currently live in Ohio, and yes, I can confirm first hand that it’s an entrance to the backrooms. The screams from outside keep getting louder too…
💙 Horror is my comfort/self indulgent genre. I would say the same about erotica but I really can’t seem to get into most books I find in that genre for some reason. So I mostly read shitty X reader fics online involving the characters I crush on (who totally aren’t cartoon men in their middle ages).
💙 Music is one of my biggest inspirations for writing. My favorite genres are 2000’s-2010’s pop music, and electro swing. My favorite artists are: Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Pitbull, Wolfgang Lohr, Swing’it, and more.

Welp, that’s all I got for now. I’m still working on reforming this blog, as I said earlier, so there might be a mess of random posts here here as well as an unfinished theme until I figure how the actual hell to use this platform. I sorta wanna post both orginal and fan content like I was doing before, but whenever I dedicate an account to my writing, I feel odd posting anything that’s not OC related. We’ll see what happens.

Heir of Rot & Ruin: a Young Adult novel following 16-year-olf Charlie Harris and her friends as they work together to get back the children and babies stolen by the mysterious Court of Salt and Brine - and banish them from Belfast, Maine for good if possible. (Self-publish)
Song of the Autumn Court: a New Adult novella about a girl who always thought the fact that her mother was taken by faeries was a tragedy until she discovers the real monsters might be in her village. (Self-publish)

I guess that's about it for me! I spend a lot of time on Tumblr reblogging aesthetic pictures of nature and animals that inspire me and bring me joy and I hope they do the same for you! I'll also share some political/current event commentary (I am a leftist/progressive) and write the occasional blog post. Tumblr is my only social media platform now so I'll also be announcing project updates and book-releases. I will happily help promote other writer's works, too!❤️

What are your opinions on shipping?
Ah, the all important question these days. On here I like to go by old fandom rules of ship and let ship. I’m a notorious multi-shipper and you’ll notice on here that I’ll be just as likely to reblog a romantic ship as I am to reblog content with those two characters being shown in an entirely platonic relationship! We are blessed in the DC world to have a multiverse at our fingertips and I like to make the most of that. For my part, I will do my very best to tag appropriately so you don’t run across couples that you aren’t a fan of (that’s of course taking into account that you have your filters turned on!)
You only have one story updating, are you working on others?
I’m always concocting other stories up in my head to revisit later but unfortunately (or fortunately) I am an entirely single minded creature and incapable of writing two stories at once (trust me I’ve tried 😔) On the plus side, that means I never give up on stories and I always see them to the end! But it does make my lil writing heart sad that I never have any content for Ship Weeks. But oh well, that just means I get to consume other authors’ amazing works rather than stressing about coming up with my own!
But why a Jaytim story for your first posted fic?
I could go on and on. The loss, the resentment, the angst, the pining, the growth... *BIG author sigh* There is just SO much potential and it has been so fun to explore especially in a setting like the YJ Cartoon where canon has been twisted on more than one occasion!

Welcome to all the bastard children of the Gods, princesses, psychonauts, and modern cryptids.
This chaos is something you'll get used to if you stick around.
I go by Cam, Cameron, or hey you over there because I was never given nicknames. My pronouns are they/he and I'm a disabled queer writer, poet, witch, college student, and small business owner.
About Me
I came out when I was 18 as genderfluid and oriented aroace (sex-repulsed, romance neutral).
I started taking writing seriously during the whole 2020 situation when I needed an escape to deal with some ~spicy feelings~.
My favorite genres to read are YA and NA fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, and dystopian.
Anything that serves "call of the void" vibes, features 9000 shades of grey morals, or has characters actually face repercussions for decisions, I'm interested in.
My current book fandoms are Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and The Hunger Games. Some books that don't have official fandoms but I love anyway are Mr. 60%, Follow Me Back, and Here Lies Daniel Tate.
Other fandoms I'm a card carrying member of are Taylor Swift, Chloe Ament, Addison Grace, HTTYD, Criminal Minds, ATLA, TLOK, The Dragon Prince, and SPOP.
I'm currently reading Six of Crows for the first time, and I'm always down to make friends even if I am terrible about replying to messages.
About My Writing and WIPs
I've got 10 WIPs that are in various stages of production, nine of which belong to a collection, and one that was a fanfic that became original when I accidentally changed too much.
So I'll start with the only book that is not a part of that collection-- aka the ex-fanfic: SFRP. A multimedia queer tragedy told through letters, short stories, paintings, and prose. In comparison to some of my other stories, this one is light but I made myself cry for the first time in about two years while writing the plot, so do with that information what you wish. Trigger warnings include death, medical trauma, discussion of past abuse, substance abuse, and grief.
Fates Intertwined
This one's the collection, with two trilogies as bookends and three stand-alones in the middle. It's a NA generational fantasy featuring your traditional supernatural races that I've tweaked with my own ideas to give them some originality.
EIT. Featuring two rival Werewolf Packs and their respective heirs, dealing with where we draw the line between murder and self-defense. A mystery, corruption, destroyed found family, and fake marriage all come into play for Marcus and Faeth when they decide to dig deeper. Trigger Warnings: on-page DV, talk of CSA, grief, substance abuse, and murder.
GEA. Deep into their investigation of the death, Mark and Faeth are running out of time. The mismatching answers to their questions need to start lining up, or they risk losing all the progress they've made-- in the case, and with each other. Trigger Warnings: on-page DV, talk of CSA, grief, substance abuse, discussion of SH behaviors, and homophobia.
EAE. Eight years have passed, and too much has changed. But new information coming to light means they might finally have the chance they just barely missed. With old feelings bubbling up, Mark and Faeth have to keep it together one more time. Trigger Warnings: discussion of past murders, discussion of SH behaviors, grief, and homophobia.
IWWC. Begins the new generation and the three stand-alone books of the collection. Thomas didn't think that coming out would cause so many problems, but all it takes is one picture going viral. Trigger Warnings: homophobia, near-death experiences.
LAM. The darkest of the stand-alone books, and possibly of the whole collection. When Zach's fucks up bigger than ever, his punishment becomes a mission. Trigger Warnings: parentification of a child, abandonment, neglect, the mistreatment of patients in psychiatric facilities, gaslighting.
TBG. The last of the stand-alones, and while much lighter than LAM, TBG is not a light story. Grace knows her place and her future, or so she thought... until she meets Jess, and stumbles into a world of corruption. Trigger Warnings: homophobia, imprisonment, physical abuse and SA, medical trauma.
AHL. Begins the second trilogy and winds down the end of the collection as I currently have it planned. Being raised to hunt Supernaturals, Blair is hellbent on revenge, and she'll do just about anything to get it. So what happens when she realizes her worldview has been twisted into something that's not accurate? Trigger Warnings: cult membership, murder, kidnapping, medical experimentation.
AHS. Tyler never thought that he'd even be working with a Hunter, much less living with one. It doesn't help that said Hunter is not making things easy.
ATB. I may or may not have started planning this one... but it's here.
Eventually I'll post individual introductions for all of these, but for now, that's all I have!

Welcome!
My name is Andréa Cliffe and my pronouns are he/him. I’ve been writing for around 7 years, mostly short stories. I am a trans, ace-biromantic man. I’m disabled, queer, and Irish, Jewish, and Native. I am also a witch, and write about my experiences with that sometimes.
I mostly write fantasy, adventure, and romance. There’s always a little bit of queer scattered around my stories, and the same goes with disability. I’m on a quest to subconsciously force people to add disabled characters in their story.
