Acejump definition [based on my experience]:

When an individual is normally allosexual, but sometimes and often suddenly becomes completely asexual for a short period of time before returning just as quickly back to being allosexual.

I've seen that you haven't been active in a while, but I thought I'd give this a shot.

I'm wondering if this is considered arospec. Sometimes I feel like my romanticism dissipates randomly, so kinda like gray-aro, but backwards. Instead of sometimes feeling romantic, i sometimes feel aromantic. Idk if that makes any sense. Is that on the aromantic spectrum? Am i trying to take the aro tag when it doesn't fit? help

I would say that generally the aspec experience is when you experience aspec-ness to a degree that you identify with being aspec/other aspec experiences. There isn't an objective measure I can give you of "aro enough" or "not aro enough". Only you can answer this: do you feel this is an aro experience? Does it make you feel disconnected from your allo peers? Does it mean that you connect with and relate to aro experiences/the aro community? It's your feelings! You're allowed to define those! You're allowed to respect your own experiences!

I don't know if maybe you're the one who even coined this term because this is an older ask, but the term for this is aro-jump, btw.

I don’t understand the concept of sex as the natural progression of romance. I understand having sex, I understand how it can be romantic, I just don’t understand how it is seen as the only course that romance takes.

Like love confessions immediately turning to sex is always so ???????? to me. Like ok get it I guess but how did we get here???

Note to self: Do NOT read a fic summary that has a character say “I’ve never fallen in love” and expect an aromantic character unless the tags *say* aromantic character. Or else you’ll go in and get “character THINKS they haven’t fallen in love but are just too stupid to realize they have, and just need to be lectured by their partner about it, who guilt trips them at even the implication that their love may not be romantic.”
