heyo!! with the presidential election coming up pls go to this website to tell your representatives to pass/support the national popular vote bill so that candidates like claudia de la cruz have a chance and so elections are no longer rigged by the electoral college!!
we need change!!! pls sign this and pls organize and protest and call if you can (because that will pressure them way more than just an email) and just spread the word and do anything you can to help abolish the current system!!
ALSO PLS VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS THEY HELP SO MUCH!!!

these are butterfly bullets or “dum-dums.”
they’re banned by the international law ICC, and their use is listed as a war crime by the international criminal court. yet lsrael has been using these bullets again UNARMED palestinian protesters.
Tumblr media
netanyahu declared palestinians as pampered. what he failed to tell you is that IDF uses butterfly bullets against palestinians. which has been prohibited under international law.
these are often used to shoot palestinians in the legs. often resulting in amputation.

If the military shoots the aliens before we get to date them, they'll get a LOT of angry monster fuckers on their doorstep who've been waiting for aliens for decades...

It's a hard life. And I think that thing people say, about how poor people stay poor bc they're always giving their money away to other poor people is true. And I don't think that's a bad thing, I just think it's as beautiful as it is sad and damning.
When I was a homeless kid, this lady gave me a family heirloom of hers, it was a blanket her great grandmother had made I think. She gave something to me with so much familial sentimental value, just to keep me warm.
When I was a homeless kid, I had been given 10$ by someone for my birthday, I forget who. I was outside subway, about to buy myself a sandwich when I saw these two women counting change on the sidewalk. They didn't have enough for even a drink. I though to myself, I ate this morning. They probably didn't. And I gave the 10$ away. My father was mad at me, and I understand. I needed to eat too afterall. But so did they.
I've been saving up for a damage deposit, and rent, so I can stay in the city near my doctors, therapists, vets, friends... I really don't have a lot of money. Not nearly enough so far. But when I saw the cops pull up to the crying, pregnant, homeless teenager "pan handling" today, what else could I have possibly done? Walk away? I need the money too. But so does she. So I gave her all the cash in my wallet.
And my dad has never been financially stable. But he donates a little to charity every single opportunity he gets.
My grandparents can't really afford to live where they live. But there's nothing u could do to make them sell their farm's produce. They give all their excess to the food bank and they will for as long as they can, for as long as they're alive.
I've never once in my life had a rich person help me out. It's ALWAYS been other poor people. Even in spite of all the propaganda telling us we should be against eachother, that we should interrogate every person on government financial aid JUST IN CASE they MIGHT not "actually" need it, in spite of the constant discourse and competition between poor folks that the rich makes us go thru to get ANY help, or to get a job, or to get anything. We always help eachother. We stand together.

The other day I was talking with my dad about institutions and politicians, how shitty they are, all of that. Prior to that conversation, i had finished watching the Quiet On Set Docuseries, and my mom had started watching Scoop, a biopic about the BBC team that managed to get Prince Andrew to slip up about his pedophilia on national television. Now, in my conversation with my dad, I mentioned that, given the rise in media like this, I feel as though we are all headed towards another MeToo movement, or at the very least an adjacent one.
This is where my dad said something that truly resonated with me. He told me that the problem with movements is that they aren't sustained. That's why we have so many movements that surge throughout the years, and they hardly ever amount to anything in the long run. Think about it. We see a surge in protests every so often, but governments do nothing other than make a few speeches, or, if they're really under pressure, pass a quick, tiny bill.
What we need instead is a revolution. And not just for one movement. We need a revolution that covers all the bases. I'm talking ableism, sexism, racism, queerphobia, classism, and all the rest of the bigotries. We need a revolution to end all movements, to combine people and groups and to learn of and from one another, to be patient and kind and to work together. We need a revolution to remake the system that has beaten everyone down. And given everything that's happening in the world right now? I think we're very well on our way towards that. Because we need it. We need a change. Not just a small one. We need a complete and total 180.
Fuck the system. If the time comes for a revolution, I'll be there.

Kept seeing this quote and some variation of it, so I felt like drawing something to fit the vibe.
One of the flowering plants that I chose is the “Antarctica Pearlwort” I also chose an emperor penguin since they were the most affected by the ice melt this yr, losing over 10,000 chicks in a colony.
