Havik feels unworthy of being around her. not because she’s a royal, a good princess, but because she’s a good person. God help you if you speak ill of her around this man.

Same goes for Kitana. If you’re a spoiled princess she’s forced to socialize with, and you DARE share your unwanted opinion about her consort’s appearance, you practically volunteer for a beating

Part 1 of my thoughts:

In the first sentence alone I can tell you have a large knowledge of words, the use of “agitated” “pulsating” and “incessantly” reminds me of when I use to have to look up words to try and replace smaller more common words. The language you use in all of your writings (and I have read MANY of them) always makes yours stories so captivating. The story of king Nebuchadnezzar II and his wife is so cute! Him having an entire building made because she was homesick and he wanted to make her happy is so sweet! They’re really setting the standards high. I love how detailed you got when describing the hanging gardens too, I actually don’t know much about the hanging gardens and it was very interesting to learn a bit about the water system. The introduction of Darius made me know something crazy was going to happen. The relationship between Darius and Bessus is so entertaining. Darius calling Bessus detestable and Bessus clearly getting amusement from Darius’s stress really shows that they’re family, it just gives such sibling vibes in a way. Our introduction to Darius! I love getting praise from people who haven’t even met us❤️. Darius being so hesitant to kidnap us makes me think that he’s probably gonna have a somewhat civil maybe even nice relationship with us. Maybe he’ll kind of take us under his wing since we’re pregnant and a useful hostage. Also Darius telling Bessus not to hurt us was so hpwnwid and you adding “lethal” in there as a way to really make him sound serious was BRILLIANT! Darius calling his servant(I think it was a servant but it could have been a soldier or someone else sorry) to use him to calm down is so fun because we know Roman’s were not straight, especially when men had to go off for war. I really like how sympathetic you made us seem for the women but also not in a way that was stupid. We feel bad and wish it didn’t have to be like this but we also know what it’s the Roman age and certain things are inevitable BUT we also are willing to use the power that we have over Alexander (even if it isn’t much right now and if we aren’t even very aware of it) to help fellow women. You really make us seem like a relatable and genuinely good hearted person, we aren’t too good to where it’s unrealistic but also not bad to where we are a villain(tbh I haven’t seen anything so far that suggest we are or will be a bad person. Unless you count our whole situation with Perdicass I guess but to me that was just more unfortunate and sad) I LOVE the part where Sisygambis mistakes Hephaestion as the king and Hephaestion is just like 😳. I’m glad Alexander didn’t get upset, shows he has some humor and patience. I wonder what he meant when he said Hephaestion was also Alexander? Again I love the way we are introduced. This is our first time reading our girl being presented as queen and clearly Alexander isn’t shy about us which I love. I wonder if we told the women it wasn’t necessary to bow because we still feel like how we did in the other world? Maybe not physically and even a little mentally but mostly we still feel like a regular person and haven’t completely processed the fact that we have status now. I enjoyed her saying that though It really reminds me of shows where when someone gets a lot of power all of a sudden (like in reign for example) and their friends try to bow but they don’t let them because they want to be treated normal and as if they aren’t better than everybody by someone. We’ve hit the pregnancy arc! I can’t wait to read about not only ours but Alexander and the generals reactions to the news once it is confirmed. I feel sad for my girl that Perdicass is distancing himself from us. I understand why to be honest. It sounds like one of those situations where one person just can’t handle seeing the other being happy without them or really just seeing them at all while knowing they can’t be together. Us not willing to risk getting closer to Perdicass because we might be pregnant just reminded me that Alexander is going to get married to other women (obviously we will still be his favorite/#1)

I always look for new words, both in English and Portuguese, when writing so I don't repeat words so much. This was a tip I received from a teacher years ago. I'm glad you noticed that! :)

I love the story of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon! Even though there are no records that it actually existed, I find the story fascinating and wanted to share it with you! And talk a little about its engineering, why not? 🥰

Darius and Bessus have a complicated relationship. I kind of based it on what I have with one of my sisters, but we love each other. It will be explored further, especially Darius' future interactions with our girl! And yes, he will be kinder to her and treat her well. Not only is she a powerful hostage but she is pregnant and Darius doesn't want to hurt her.

Yes! Unfortunately that was the reality and although we can't change it, our girl can try to do something. This interaction between Hephaestion and Sisygambis is one of my favorite moments in the story! And the best thing is knowing that it really happened! It shows a fun side to Alexander and the extent of his relationship with Hephaestion.

Alexander is proud to show off his Queen and will do so to anyone if he gets the chance. She is still a normal girl, a Queen, but she still has her origins within her and finds it strange to have people bowing down to her.

Her relationship with Perdiccas has really changed, but maybe things will get better. Or maybe not... 👀

An Evil Ball on the Isle:

I need to get my thoughts into order and can't write by hand now so you have to deal with it

It's an attempt to promote VK Day, certainly much more effective than whatever the hell was going on in canon

It also explains why on earth Evie took three to five ballgowns to the Isle of the Lost. Girl's gotta have choices.

Uma slipped to the Isle as Core 4 opened the Barrier. If it goes one way, it works the other too. Whatever. It won't be her PoV, and no one else would know the technicallities.

The pirate crews (= the Hook kids) were one of the only ones who did not receive an invitation, for obvious reasons.

The reasons being two attempts at regicide by the family so far.

I used to always try to come up with some answer to this to please people but i didnt have one past 3rd grade bc i absolutely detested school, the educational systems and academia so fuck no, no favorite subjects. Fuck schools.

(The one good school i went to grade pre till 3rd i enjoyed also had really good pedagogists. In 3rd grade i think i loved math the most bc my teacher designed individual plans for us and my classmate and i raced to finish higher level work, in 2nd i think it was the class where we read and wrote and were creative like think tank and reading dino topia and writing our own magical treehouse, in 1st grade it was science and experementing and the frogs and butterfly class.

On my own time i watched so many animal rescue shows and nation geography and we had so many of their magazines and natyre magazines my mother got that were sorted out from the library. And i read a lot of history books about ancient and pre-historic times and different cultures and that was great. I was also obsessed with animals and read cyclodpedias and had them quickly memorized. But by the time i was 9 i was too depressed and i dont know shit anymore my brain too forgetful

and that's why i'm so mad about the school systems bc i truly loved, loved learning. But even the good school would give me failing grades for my social behavior. And without ranting even further, lets just say math used to be like breathing for me and now i can barely put 48+32 together without a calculater anymore bc my brain is so dead

So much more complicated issues yeah but school still makes me so fucking mad)

15. DREAM JOB?

somehow i got lucky and i kinda ended up in the field of my dream job: vet tech/nurse

i wish i could save any animal i come across though. Regardless of money, laws, etc. I wish i could save nature. Fix what humanity has done to the earth and to so many animals. Relieve suffering. Give love to every stray. Make sure every living being has a home. Get rid of ownership over land and living beings of any and all kind

So objectively in fnf, that ship would Silco be happier in? Melco or Sevilco?

Lmao, tbh, I find objectivity rarely works in ships (or real relationships). People gonna like who they like. I also personally think a character like Silco has left happiness in the romantic sense far behind - the closest he comes to joy is through Zaun's evolution, and greater still, through Jinx, who teaches him the meaning of selfless love and self-sacrifice<3

Re: the ships, however...

tw: unhealthy dynamics and conflict

Mel and Silco come from two diametrically opposite worlds. A lot of their inbuilt traumas will also trigger the other (Silco reminding Mel of her mother at his worst; Mel reminding Silco of Piltover's hubris at her haughtiest). They could either inspire each other to be wiser and more merciful people - or they could absolutely tear each other down. In a relationship, they'd likely have clashes of opinion. Often.

At their pettiest, they'd play mindgames, paired with cold war tactics. Worst case? He'd reduce her poise to tears. She'd mutate his control into ragefrothing.

More positively, in softer moments, she'd be a stable guiding light and good source of counsel, since she understands the burdens of leadership. In turn, he'd demonstrate how ruthlessness means protecting those closest to you by keeping them at your side, not banishing them because they 'weaken' you. She'd value the devotion, and they'd be a force to reckon with in a political arena.

As per my own headcanon, they'd be compatible but a little mismatched in the bedroom. Mel is more into the delicacy and artistry of lovemaking. Silco is more about control games and unraveling his paramours. His drive is also higher than hers, which would make her feel a little off-balance from time to time. Plus side: they'd, er, bone up each other's techniques and expand their repertoires to please one another :)

Sevika and Silco have a completely different dynamic. For one, they're from the same background and share a history. She also has more context for certain behaviors of his, and vice versa, since she's either witnessed or experienced them herself. Then there's the shared goal of Zaun, which is why they're even working side-by-side. To achieve it, they'd grit their teeth and put up with alot.

It's about the end, not the means.

Unlike Melco, there'd be plenty of day-to-day bickering. But a full knock-down drag-out fight would be a rarity. They also don stone-cold professional personas in public, and are good at compartmentalizing, which makes them less prone to overstep boundaries. Sentiment is kept in check, unless it's an emergency.

Bedroom-wise, Sevika can take and dish out his brand of violence with equal relish. He may find her a bit too rough around the edges and downright uncouth sometimes. But since they share a socioeconomic background, he'll shrug it off, and she'll occasionally mock him for being hoity-toity. They also share an enjoyment for unmitigated nastiness in all its forms. Their kinks are well-aligned.

tl;dr re: Melco vs Sevilco - happiness is in the eye of the shipper.

Or Jinx - who would detest both women for different reasons, if they were ever in a relationship with her Papa XD

hi dominic!!!

my day was really fun actually :D it was my little brother's birthday so he, my dad, and i were out almost the whole day. we went to build-a-bear and my brother & i got matching frog plushies and then we went to this mall i i haven't been to in the loooooongest time which was so fun. it has this 2-storey carousel on the second floor that was my favorite thing in the whole world as a kid, and i rode on it again today for the first time in. god maaybe 5 or 6 years? it was sooo much fun for me but it was also really cool to see my little brother enjoy it too :] and then we got dinner and i ate eggs benedict for the first time ever and then had ice cream cake at home <3 and my brother loved the gift i gave him (my old mp3 player with a shit ton of songs on it) and so i sort felt like the best sibling in the world. so yeah really good day :)

an unpopular opinion! i don't think this is considered an unpopular opinion on tumblr/the internet tbh but in real life i've met next to no one who agrees with me so. ummmmmmmm i fucking detest the "boyfriend fit" style of clothing that's become popular these days esPECIALLY in plus-size clothing companies. i think it's really fucking stupid & boring & lame & most of all cuntless that we've created a style of clothing that mimic this phenomenon of girls wearing their boyfriend's clothes that are supposedly "oversized" and make her looked smaller and all cute. aside from the outright rage i feel toward this concept (the stereotypical girls are smaller so their boyfriend's clothes will look oversized and baggy and "masculine" (NOT AT ALL)) it just really pisses me off because clothing companies now are replacing perfectly good and fine styles (more specifically styles that i, as a fat person, enjoy!) to cater to people who want to look small and dainty and cute in their "boyfriend's" clothing. all the stores i frequent for clothing are replacing my favorite style of jeans with boyfriend fit and hot topic's new favorite thing is making t-shirts ONLY in the boyfriend fit and i bought a mcr one last year because the design was too cool to pass up and i fucking regret it every time i wear the shirt because the fit is cut slimmer than the usual tees but the arms fit fine, even when it's in my usual size, so i'm stuck with a really awkward looking shirt and incites dysphoria for me personally and it JUST LOOKS BAD IN MY OPINION??? and so yes. i have so much more to say on this topic but my unpopular opinion is that the boyfriend fit style should kill itself or at the very least companies should put BACK the regular styles i know and love because if it wasn't hard enough for me to find clothes in my size that don't exacerbate my dysphoria, now i gotta scour ebay for discontinued jeans styles because they've all been replaced by the boyfriends. I HOPE JAKEY FUCKING DIES !!!!!!

have to thank @ardentroia for tagging me on this cute challenge to create your twc detectives using this adorable picrew by @eatingyarn. i love having an excuse to talk about my girls <3

from left to right, top to bottom: verena, haruka, reyna, amora

idk who to tag tbh but i missed picrew and forgot how fun it was so yall should try it too!!

some stuff abt my girls under the read more cause i can't resist and it got long heh

on the top left is verena ambrose, for the adam route. in some ways, she was born to be a detective—deduction and knowledge is her highest stat for a reason. she detests authority though, and would never have joined the force were it not for her getting in trouble w them as a young adult. honestly, everyone in the precinct was already familiar w her long before that, as she was a known troublemaker in childhood. from running a black market of banned books in her school to trespassing ("investigating!") to fist fights ("if you keep picking on my friend, i will take away your right to have hands :)") she's been a thorn in the side of school administration and law enforcement for years, especially since she was smart enough never to actually get caught or leave proof behind. as for rebecca—what's she gonna do about it? parent her? please.

on the top right is haruka kiritani, who is romancing morgan. my girl has been the ideal scientist since infancy—curious, hungry, progressive—so naturally, science and tech is her highest stat. she'd imagined ending up a researcher rather than a detective, but she's also too wary to break away from her comfort zone, which is why she stayed in wayhaven and took the detective job in the hopes that her mind will at least be put to use there. but it was mundane and boring, so meeting unit bravo? it's the best thing that's ever happened to her. it forced her to break away from what is safe and familiar and she is thankful. don't let her demure nature fool you, while she does prefer to be non-confrontational, piss her off enough and you'll never live in peace a day in your life until you're back in her good graces.

on the bottom left is reyna ibarra, my farah romancer. she's big (6 feet) and buff (combat stat is her highest and it shows) and is fully aware of how intimidating she looks—in fact, she takes great pride in it and wears clothes that make her even more intimidating, whether it be because they show off her arms or because they're sleek and sophisticated. she is a born protector, having grown up without one, and delights in making people feel safe. despite her stoicism, there's a warmth and genuineness about her that does just that. she's not much for words, but her actions speak for themselves—and if she needs to speak with her fists, so be it. all or nothing, ride or die.

on the bottom right is amora mondragón, romancing nate. playful and adaptable, she's the kind of person who commands a room just by walking into it—she dresses colorfully and in a lot of avant garde fashion, colors her hair (mostly purples and blues, but if she doesn't have time for upkeep, she lets it be bleach-blonde) and wears intricate makeup looks. it's her philosophy that the louder your presentation is, the less people actually know about what's underneath. her highest stat is people and psychology—she knows how human minds work and uses it to her advantage in order to get what she wants. not in any sinister way, mind you, but considering what she's been through, she hungers for any advantage she can get.

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Summary: When your parents surprise you with the news that you are going to marry one of Asgard's princes you're not exactly thrilled. It's not made any better by said prince giving you the cold shoulder from the very moment you arrive. Now, not only do you have to worry about acclimating to an unfamiliar place but you must do so while preparing to marry someone who seems to absolutely detest you before you've said five words to him. You know you're duty-bound but why does it have to be so difficult?

A/N: now I don't make it a habit to do dedications but tbh my favorite part of uploading this story has become this person's comments on every single chapter so I just want to say thank you to @kaogasm and let you know I very much appreciate all of your comments, they always make me smile <3 (don't feel pressured to leave them though I just wanted to show gratitude)

Sitting on your balcony with a book is something you don't do nearly enough you realize as you enjoy the weather of the late afternoon.

"Lady y/n?" Lily pokes her head out to call you.

"Yes Lily? Is everything alright?" You ask.

"Everything is fine- prince Loki is here to see you." She says with a smile.

"Prince Loki?"

"Yes. Shall I let him in or would you prefer not to speak to him?"

"You can let him in." You nod. In the last couple of weeks Loki has really made an attempt to be kinder to you, spending more time getting to know you and telling you about himself.

"Of course." She nods and walks off. A few moments later, Loki joins you on the balcony.

"Hello Lady y/n." Loki says.

"Hello your highness. What brings you here?"

"Are you busy?"

"Just reading. Why do you ask?" You look up at him from your seat.

"I'd like to show you something if you can spare the time." He holds his hand out to you.

"What is it?" You tilt your head curiously, glancing at his hand and then back up at him.

"I understand it may be too soon to ask you to trust me, but I swear to you it is something you'll enjoy. At least I very much hope so." Loki says. You take his hand and allow him to help you out of your seat.

"You speak with so much conviction you'll make it hard to manage expectations." You tell him as he leads you through your room.

"Good, that means if I manage to impress you, I'll have earned it." He says and your maids barely manage to hold back sighs as the two of you leave. You giggle to yourself at their reactions.

"If you manage." You hum. Loki shoots you a wink as you walk. Loki leads you through the winding halls of the palace silently. "Where exactly are we going Loki?" You frown.

"You'll see." He says with a mischievous smile.

"I've never been to this area of the palace." You say as he leads you up a winding staircase.

"Probably because it's mostly unused." Loki eventually opens a door and ushers you into the room. It's dark so you stay close to Loki as you walk inside.

"Loki what is going on?" You frown, waiting for your eyes to adjust to the lack of light.

"One second." He says quietly and a moment later the room lights up with a gentle glow. You glance around as stars twinkle against the walls and ceiling.

"Woah- what- wait how?" You gasp.

"I've basically turned this room into a planetarium. I find stars fascinating." He tells you, his voice is only a couple levels above a whisper.

"It's beautiful." You say quietly.

"I thought you'd like it."

"I'll admit you did manage to surprise me. This is wonderful." You tell him. Your eyes flit around the ceiling, looking at the various constellations projected onto it. Loki clears his throat behind you, prompting you to finally turn and look at him only to find him on one knee. "What are you doing?" You blink at him, confusion on your face as he grasps your hand.

"I know I've been... an asshole-"

"Understatement." You scoff.

"I do hope to one day earn your forgiveness because you're more lovely than I could have possibly asked for. I know we're barely weeks away from it but y/n- I'd like to ask you to marry me."

"Why in all the nine realms would you ask me to marry you? We're having a wedding in less than two weeks." You laugh.

"Because I want you to know that even though we didn't choose to be married I do want to marry you."

"So you decided to propose to me?" You chuckle.

"Perhaps it's silly since even if you say no to me right now we'll be walking down that aisle but I thought you should know that I'm sorry and not marrying you because I have to, I do genuinely want to spend my life with you and I couldn't think of a better way to show it." Loki says, looking at you.

"If I say no to you right now? I'm meant to answer your proposal?"

"Of course you're meant to answer. Is that not what is expected when a question is asked?"

"Some questions are rhetorical."

"This one isn't. Will you marry me?"

"Yes Loki, I will marry you." You chuckle. "I was- only half serious when I said I expected a grand gesture of an apology for your asshole behavior." You tell him as he stands with a smile.

"Half serious is more than enough. I owe it to you."

"Well, I won't argue with that." You shrug and Loki laughs.

"You're so very good at that though." He jokes.

"I assume so are you." You say, sitting on the floor. Loki hums in response as he sits facing you. "Loki, I have a question."

"Yes?"

"Do you- do like anything about Asgard?"

"I love Asgard- it's my home. Though it hasn't always felt like it."

"Really?"

"Yes." He nods.

"Why?"

"Without going into too much detail, my relationship with my father hasn't always been great. It often feels as though he favors Thor."

"Is that why you were being so weird about my friendship with him?" You ask, pulling your knees towards your chest and resting your chin on them.

"I don't like where this is going." Loki says.

"Loki we're going to be married. Stop being weird."

"Fine. It- is. Kind of. Thor is good at making people like him. Even though I tried to make you leave I guess I was annoyed by the idea that you'd like him more than me."

"So- instead of being nice to me you decided to, try and trivialize my friendship with Thor?" You laugh.

"It wasn't the best course of action but I was trying to do conflicting things. I wanted you to like me more than Thor but not like me enough to stay- it was stupid."

"At least you know I suppose." You shrug. Loki opens his mouth to protest but just laughs at himself instead. The two of you spend the next couple of hours talking to each other about whatever comes to mind.

You stand in front of the mirror as your maids help you into your wedding dress. Your hair and makeup are already done it's just the gown that needs lacing and your accessories to put on.

"How are you feeling y/n?" Anne asks, helping you with the white satin and lace gloves that cover most of your arms.

"I know I picked it but this dress is- insane." You chuckle as you attempt to gather the skirt of your ballgown wedding dress.

"It definitely didn't look like this much fabric before we put it on you but it is your wedding day." Lily says as she finishes lacing it in the back.

"It is my wedding day." You say.

"Nervous?" Ella asks.

"I don't think so." You shake your head. Just then, Thor comes in with a loud greeting.

"Lady y/n!"

"Prince Thor! What if she hadn't been dressed? You should've knocked." Ella admonishes with a frown.

"I apologize. I assumed she'd be ready because it's about time for her to go, but you are right. One should never enter a lady's chambers without knocking first." He nods.

"It's alright Thor, we're just about done now. How do I look?" You turn towards him.

"Like an absolute vision." Thor says. "Now, let's get you to your groom so the ceremony can begin!" Thor announces, holding out an arm to you. You loop your arm through his and use your other hand to gather your dress's skirt as you let Thor walk you to the hall where your wedding is being held. The large gold doors are opened for both of you and Thor passes you to Loki before joining their mother near your parents at the front.

"Wow." Loki breathes quietly as he takes you in.

"Loki." You whisper.

"Yes my love?"

"We need to start walking." You tell him when he continues to look at you as if you are the center of the universe. Your words seem to snap him out of it and he holds out his arm to you for you two to walk down the aisle. Truthfully, you don't remember much of the ceremony, there was a lot of talking from Odin, eventually, you said your vows and everyone cheered as Loki kissed you. The kiss was soft, almost shy with how gentle it was, but no one seemed to notice how reserved he was with his touch as you left the hall hand in hand.

"You look amazing." Loki tells you once you've left.

"Thank you. Though- your speechless staring earlier already gave me the impression you thought as much."

"I apologize for that." He frowns.

"It's alright, it was cute- the silver tongued prince at a loss for words." You smile slightly. "I have to change now for the rest of the festivities. Will you be joining everyone now?" You ask him.

"I will, when you enter I will come to get you and bring you to the front."

"Alright that's fine." You nod. You rush back to your room where your maids are waiting.

"You looked amazing during the ceremony!" Ella says as soon as you walk in.

"Thank you Ella." You smile.

"Did you see the way prince Loki was looking at her the entire time?!" Anne sighs.

"We need to change her into her reception dress." Lily says already starting to unlace your wedding gown.

"Is the prince coming to take you to the reception?" Ella asks, grabbing your reception dress.

"No, he's already there. I'm going to go to the reception and Loki will meet me at the entrance." You say. Your dress for the reception is green with gold detailing and a belt. It's fitted at the top with a flowing skirt and a cape that clips like a collar on your neck. The girls change your hair and jewelry to match your reception attire.

"You look amazing." Anne says.

"You guys are absolutely irreplaceable honestly." You tell them as you look over yourself in the mirror.

"We're just good at our jobs." Lily says.

"Don't sell yourselves short I don't know what I'd do without you. Really." You say looking at them seriously.

"Not to break up the sentimentality but you should get going. You are the guest of honor after all." Ella says.

"The guest of honor is never late, everyone else is just early." You wink. "If you girls would like, please feel free to stop by the reception. I'm sure it'll go on until the early hours and you deserve to enjoy the festivities." You tell them.

"Thank you y/n." Lily says with a slight curtsey as you leave. You make your way through the palace until you arrive at the room chosen for the reception.

"I invited my maids to the reception, if they show up please make sure they're allowed in." You tell the guards at the door when you walk up to them.

"Of course your highness." One of them nods.

"Your highness-" You blink at him.

"You've married a prince, you're a princess now and thus- you're highness." The other guard says.

"Right- that... will take some getting used to. Well, you can open the doors now please." You smile at them. They each offer a slight smile back before they push the doors open, bringing the noise in the room to a halt as you stand in the entryway. You aren't sure where Loki emerges from in the crowd but as he walks towards you people clear his path to meet you. Loki holds his hand out to you when he reaches where you stand. You take it and allow him to lead you to the middle of the crowd. The band begins playing a song and Loki pulls you flush against him.

"You look marvelous." He says quietly in your ear as he waltzes you across the floor.

"Thank you. We match." You whisper.

"Of course we do. From now on we are two sides of the same coin."

"Two sides of the same coin. I don't hate that." You muse.

"Well don't get too excited the night's just beginning." Loki says sarcastically. You throw your head back with laughter as you dance with him. "I do hope someone caught that." He says.

"Caught what?" You look at him with a frown.

"That moment- your laughter, I want pictures and videos from our wedding to reflect that glowing expression on your face."

"Well sometimes you're funny." You shrug. When the song ends, you allow Loki to walk you up to where the king and queen are sitting, near the front of the room.

"Congratulations my dear!" Queen Frigga says first, standing up to wrap her arms around you.

"Thank you, your highness." You smile at her.

"Yes, congratulations you two." King Odin nods.

"Now that you're here we should address everyone!" Queen Frigga says.

"Alright." You nod. Odin silences the band with a wave of his hand and everyone quiets quickly.

"Today is a momentous occasion for Asgard! My son, prince Loki has married the wonderful Lady y/n of Alfheim! Tonight, we commemorate this union! Eat! Drink! Dance as we celebrate the happy couple!" Odin booms to the crowd that erupts in cheers. Frigga pulls you closer to her to speak in your ear.

"How are you feeling?" She asks.

"A bit overwhelmed honestly, but in a good way." You smile.

"And about your marriage?"

"I'm- more hopeful than I was the last time we spoke about it."

"I'm glad-"

"Y/n, my love, would you like a drink? Or something to eat?" Loki asks placing his hand on your back.

"A drink would be nice thank you, Loki." You smile.

"Of course darling." Loki nods, walking away.

"He seems attentive." Queen Frigga smiles.

"Yes- he's been very sweet today. Perhaps it's the significance of the day."

"Perhaps." She muses. "Enjoy the party dear. Mingle, eat and drink. Have fun."

"Yes your highness." You nod. You bid the king goodbye before making your way into the crowd.

"Congratulations your highness!" Colden grabs your attention.

"Colden! Hi! Thank you. How are you?" You smile.

"Cannot complain. How are you? Adjusting to Asgard?"

"Well since we last met I've managed to see most of Asgard courtesy of Thor. It really is beautiful."

"Isn't it? I'm glad you've had a chance to see it."

"There you are, my love. Here's your drink." Loki says, wrapping an arm around you as he hands you a cup.

"Thank you, Loki." You smile.

"You're welcome, darling." Loki says.

"Oh! This is Colden! I met him at the ball a few months ago. He encouraged me to explore Asgard." You introduce the two.

"Your highness." Colden bows.

"It's nice to meet you." Loki nods.

"Colden! I thought I'd never find you in all these people!" Isla rushes over.

"Isla- hello." Colden says.

"Oh gosh! Your highness. Hello." She says with a bow.

"Hello." Loki nods.

"Congratulations on getting married." She says.

"Thank you." He nods.

"I was just talking to my friends about how surprising it is that you didn't marry an Asgardian." Isla says with a smile. You force yourself not to react even as Colden glances at you.

"What do you mean?" Loki frowns.

"Well many of us expected that the princes would marry an Asgardian as opposed to an outsider."

"An outsider?"

"Don't get me wrong I'm sure y/n here is wonderful but- she's a stranger to us. A stranger very close to the throne."

"That is Princess Y/n. Address her properly." Loki's eyes narrow.

"Of course! That was an honest mistake. I'm sorry your highness." She shakes her head.

"Loki." You place your hand on his that has tightened at your waist.

"Isla! Let's go get some refreshments hm? Are the others here? We should find them." Colden says. "It was nice to see you again princess. I do hope marriage is good to you." He adds as he practically pushes Isla away. You let out a breath and sip your drink.

"A stranger? Who does she think she is." Loki scoffs. You shrug knowing this won't be the last time you hear something like that tonight. "Dance with me?" Loki asks.

"Again?" You ask with a slight smile.

"Why not?" Loki spins you to face him.

"I had no idea you liked to dance so much." You muse as you let him dance you around.

"I like dancing with you." Loki shrugs.

"I'm flattered." You smile.

"Hey y/n?" Loki asks after a few minutes of silence.

"Yes?"

"When should we move you?"

"Move me?"

"Well, yes. Married couples usually share a bed chamber. Your current one is on the opposite end of the palace. I'd at least like you moved into the one next door."

"Fine- I can move over the next couple of days." You nod.

"Brilliant." Loki nods. You spend the night dancing and talking to people you've never seen before until your social battery can handle no more. When you return to your bedroom you’re beyond completely drained, but the smile refuses to leave your face as you end the night.

i love your spirit, anon, but i reblogged that version of the ship meme because i specifically entered a kataang shipping block. i felt my love for the pairing dwindle more and more each day, so i reblogged with a series of headcanons. shipping something detested by fandom AND overlooked is not for the weak, i’ll tell you that! i needed to rediscover my love for the ship.

however, i will do this version of the meme for korrasami. because while kataang makes me feel an emotional rollercoaster on a daily basis, korrasami helps to uplift my spirits.

when i started shipping it if i did: no one has any idea what it was like to get korrasami representation during a time in which bury your gays was so prominent. i have their final scene memorized and can recite it by heart.

my thoughts and what makes me happy about them: korra and asami are two characters from two different walks of life that complement each other soooooo well. I love their romantic rivals to reluctant allies to friends to best friends to lovers arc so much, as censored as it was. i think their relationship definitely represents the core of the series’ prominent themes. as mentioned, korrasami was extremely vital to pave the way for sapphic media, especially in animation. it’s because of korrasami did we get ships such as catradora and lumity. also, it’s a great ship because this rich girl who is all about technology and industry, who emotionally represses herself on a daily basis, meets the avatar, a living spiritual entity, who is expressive and volatile at times. it’s a beautiful love story.

what makes me sad about them: the fact that asami’s character wasn’t given the depth it deserved (robbed of that equalist asami storyline) and the fact that they were so censored. i wish these two belonged to a better show with more competent writers - they would both be given the justice that they deserved.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don’t read korrasami fanfic, so i can’t comment. but things that i have seen in fandom spaces that i hate is when korra is turned into this bimbo, unintelligent type of character that cannot do basic things for the life of her and requires asami’s help. did we watch the same show? korra may have made rash decisions, but she’s not dumb. also, dudebros need to stay the hell away from the two of them because when they’re not calling the ship rushed and forced or being homophobic, they’re fetishizing the fuck out of them and erasing their canon bisexuality.

things i look for in fanfic: i suppose if i were to read korrasami, i’d love to read soft, quiet fanfics where they spend a quiet a morning or afternoon together.

who I’d be comfortable with them ending up together, if not each other: they should always end up together! just kidding - i would also love korra with opal; they’d be very cute. and asami would be fine with anyone imo, as long as it’s not mako.

my happily ever after for them: married long into their 80s, 90s, 100s. i see them having one child tbh (mako being a sperm donor is a headcanon that i will die on) and that child growing up to have grandchildren and so forth. also for them to be very close to kataang’s family ❤️

who is the big spoon/little spoon: asami is the big spoon and korra is the little spoon!

what is their favourite non-sexual activity: travelling, whether it’s on naga or asami’s plane.

hi firstly oh my gosh you're literally so sweet i am gently shaking you i love you so much /p. secondly, i apologize for the long answer! (it's all under the cut. this got away from me. i'm so sorry apparently i have a lot to say.) (also you're so good about the questions i would constantly be asking one of my professors questions during class to the point where she said i didn't have to go "i have a question" every time i approached her)

i've been editing since 2016! around march/april, i think? loved it so much i went into film & video production in college as a major so i could do editing for a living. (i have done more motion graphics for my classmates than i have done edits outside of class assignments, BUT!)

the program i use is after effects - i started learning it when covid first hit the united states because i had nothing better to do with my time (other than music theory but i failed that bc my professor focused more on the history aspects than the actual theory soooo) and my ipad kept giving me the "no more storage" whenever i tried to use videostar lmao. (vs has, apparently, gotten a LOT of good updates, so if you're looking to start editing and have an ios system, i'd look into it! only downside is you have to pay for some of the cool stuff).

also the program i use for masking (i think i explain this later dwdw) is superimpose. i've been using it since 2014 and it's SO nice bc i can use my fingers to erase backgrounds & stuff instead of hoping i can get it to work correctly in ae or photoshop (photoshop my DETESTED i'll use it but i'll complain the entire time).

for people who want to start editing: tutorials on how your program works and how to do specific transitions are gonna be your best friend when you're first figuring things out! i forced a friend to literally walk me through how after effects worked when i was first figuring it out, and when i had swapped to videostar back in 2017/2018(?) i had watched a Lot of tutorials. that and played around a lot and figured things out on my own - which is also always a good way to start!! it's also totally valid to look at other people's edits for inspiration - most editors don't really care, as long as you don't flat-out remake their edit (some people don't like that!). i have a style insp folder on instagram where i save edits that i like so if i need transition ideas or i'm doing a different style, i can look there for inspiration. at the end of the day, as long as you're having fun with it that's all that matters!

also, starting simple is always okay!! my edits for a year were just me slapping gifs & video segments together on a timeline in cute cut pro bc imovie didn't load them lol & it'd crash every time i breathed. ++ it never hurts to ask people for feedback/constructive(!!!) criticism/etc! (also not to sound like everyone else but practice? good. it's so good. if i showed my 14/15y/o self some of the edits i can make now they would've passed out on the spot bc i was still trying to figure out transitions back then. programs can also sometimes make a difference in edits, but usually it's not super noticeable until you start getting to the Complicated Shit.)

a lot of popular programs i've seen are ones like video star (ios only), alight motion (android only), after effects (i recommend 🏴‍☠️ing it tbh, i only use it legally bc i had to use adobe programs for school), capcut, and i think some people still use sony vegas pro & maybe cute cut pro (i've heard it may have actually gotten better since i last used it in 2018)? i have no idea. programs also depend on whatever device you're using to edit on! since i've been using my laptop, i'm able to use after effects (it's computer-only), but when i used my phone/ipad to edit i used ccp & vs.

for the animation - it's a lot of cutting up the image and masking! more complex animations, like the one i had of leo walking down that red 'hallway' have several different layers that have been masked. (i removed the background & filled in the spot where leo originally was in two different apps - superimpose (taking leo out) & photoshop (filling in the bg)) in after effects, the way i've done this was mask out the specific thing i wanted to move (like an eye) and then put that mask on what i've called a "base" (not animated), and then stick a solid behind the base to match the color of the object. (some of my layers are not named appropriately; base 2 is the left arm & the four "SIX_[...]" layers are the mask/bandana tails)

an example of this would be for any of the eye blink animations i did! this (above) is the same shot, with and without the eye - since it's masked out and i have the background solid behind it, it doesn't look too unnatural/have a black outline/mass where his eye should be.

this is what my timeline looks like if it's a more simplistic animation - the only five things being animated here are leo & raph's eyes. (there's only this many layers bc it's two characters in one shot & i was also animating their pupils - typically, an eye-blink animation is about 4-6 layers for me (solid, base, mask, & null to animate with, 6 if i'm animating both eyes & 4 if just one))

in after effects, there's this really cool tool called the puppet pin that one of my friends (lovingly) yelled at me for not knowing about - which. yeah fair she wasn't wrong it's SUPER useful in animating, provided you chop up your image first. if you don't it's a mess.

(separated by layer vs i should've really put the mask tails & leo's head on separate layers and didn't bc that was the 2nd to last animation i had to do and i was losing my mind bc i wanted to be done with the edit lmao)

the way people animate depends all on their style (there's two common ways to do blinking animation - having the anchor point at the bottom of the eye, or the middle of it) and the program they use. it's been a while, but i could probably tell you how to do some basic animations on videostar still even though i've been doing them in after effects for about 2-3years now. ALSO the best way to have an animation be noticeable is to over-exaggerate it/make them Big - which, yes, can mean 'breaking bones' and having the limbs be a little wonky at the start. (if you want it to be realistic though go Just to the point where it looks uncomfortable lmao)

Hmm.. actually I don't know if they really count as side characters when they're acting as individuals, but as a group I don't really get the Cuckoos. It's not hate, but I just don't really understand the appeal.

Monet/Sabretooth

Jet Zola - specifically the thing with her and Sam but also the character in general... also throw in Sin. No one needed "sexy Nazi teenager" and we certainly didn't need it twice.

Bonus: it's such a minor point but I would like to erase most of that x-force issue with Shinobi and Mindmeld. Keep Mindmeld, I like her. But everything with Shin should go. He's way too evil and way too competent. And he actually kills someone with his powers which is something that he's generally portrayed as being all talk with. That's something that should've been built towards and treated as big change, but it isn't and I dislike it.

I'm sure there's more. I am a fountain of bitterness.

45. What’s the worst take you’ve seen about [x] (popular or not)?

You said for Monet. This is kind of fudging the question because it's not a specific take.

There's a thing that happens with Monet where she is mostly remembered and mentioned as "the other Black woman in x-men who isn't Storm or Reyes." And the way she gets utilised in fandom is frequently very much like:

"Here's my fantasy x-team line up. I needed someone who wasn't white so here's some lady. I skimmed the intro to her wiki, maybe, but tbh I'm just making this up."

And I don't want to be mean about this, because it is good that people are thinking about her even if they don't currently know much about her. I don't want to gatekeep. And also, far be it for me to tell people how to approach racial diversity in this kind of thing, I am far from an expert.

But it bothers me that so many of the times that she's remembered, it's just to meet some imaginary quota.

Hell, if we're talking about representation, there are so many boxes that girl ticks with her background and character history. But so often they don't bother with any of that. Some random white dude is the neurodivergent one, the one with the trauma. Or whatever.

And this is bigger than fandom, obviously. It's a big thing with a lot of POC characters, especially Black characters, in comics. They get included with little thought to their actual background or characterisation, and just get slapped with a random personality the author feels is appropriate.

Urgh, this is unfocused. But I guess what I'm saying is I wish people would bring her up as herself, with more actual personal detail and attention to her background. And not just mention her to round up a line up, or drag her into some nebulous attempt to cancel an author after the fact (lol that is a specific subtweet but I'm not going to elaborate). Maybe at the very least don't assume she's American. That would be nice.

I don't really have one for this. Not that I haven't seen a bunch of blatanlty untrue fanon takes - dear lord it's like 90% of them - but I'm usually pretty skeptical... I think...?
