Been reading the wicked books unfortunately i have 0 time for art anymore

do you ever sit and think about how excellent wicked is as a tragedy. like both elphaba and glinda spend all of act 2 until for good doubling down on the choices/mindsets that put them in their situations in the first place -- elphaba continues making impulsive, bold decisions that just turn the ozians against her; glinda continues staying within the corrupt system despite realizing she has no real agency to change it -- and when they finally see eye to eye and each try to implement the other's perspective, it's too late for them to work as a team for more than just a moment. and it just baffles me that like 95% of the general public just sees this show as a fun wizard of oz prequel

There is just something about the union of someone who has trouble seeing herself as human because she has been treated as a monster, and someone who has trouble seeing herself as human because it she has been performing godly perfection for as long as she can remember

I recently got the new brush nib Sakura of America Brush pens and thought Wicked would be a great example when using these pens. I definitely am missing the markers I've used so maybe I should pull those out for more artwork 😜

Nobody's talking about how Glinda called her "Elphaba" at the beginning of defying gravity (when she was mad) and when she softened she inmediatly switched to "Elphie". It's canon that she calls her by her whole name when she's angry.
